This is my first smartphone and it is called My|Phone My31 in my country. The phone worked well for me for 1 year, it can handle some light games and battery can last a day. But after a year of usage, I noticed a malware that puts lots of ads on my phone and I installed a virus remover from playstore. It removed the virus including the settings app. Without the settings app, it wont let me access the settings, bluetooth, wifi; basically it made my device useless. This is a lesson I learned that I should not be buying phones from cheap brands.

Have noticed the malware called "provisions" and "android services", which is removed by google play protect but which re-installs itself whenever I access the internet. Unable to get rid of it as it appears as a system app.

Its a simple settings issue in google playstore ..go into settings in gooigle play store app and turn off update on wifi button...that way none of the apps update automatically..and u can chooseto update whatsapp and others manually ..for some apps like paytm etc 504 error comes even i too have probs installing them but gave it up as i guess our lava software is 2 yrs older than the current app softwares hence the mismatch..to install uber n ola..you can do a jugaad n install ixigo app...it fits uber ola in one app..hope that helps

The same problem of apps automatically downloaded when net on was with me. But i first restored my phone and re set up it and updated it to the latest software. After that there are no such issues. Whoever has this problem update his/her phone.

Never purchased this phone. It is really worst product to use. This product has virus in OS itself. Whenever connect to internet, it always downloading unknown apps without your knowledge. It is too much hanging. You can't use OS default browser, it will re-start device automatically. Customer Care is not giving proper reply. After update OS, same problem is persist and default 360 desktop functionality gone. :( You can't charge phone with other charger.

I had same problem, just go to setting and Reset ur phone, then install CM Security, Scan ur mobile, after few mins it will catch few malware & viruses and u need to block them. Now ur phone will become brand new. Happy to Help..

I am having this phone since one year. There is some software problem or OS problem not sure. Whenever connected to internet Apps are downloaded automatically, even though the option for automatic app download is unchecked. Connected to internet, the phone gets heated up within 10-15 mints and then the battery starts draining very fast. within 6 hours it gets fully drained even if you keep it in standby mode. Also once the apps gets downloaded and installed automatically in you phone, even if you uninstall them, even time u restart u can see those apps installed. What's the use of a smart phone if you cannot connect to internet. Memory card slot stopped working after 6 months of use. When on call sometimes the phone gets switched off even though the charge is full. First 6 months I phone was very good, no flaw at all. But after that all the above problems started showing. Very bad experience with the phone. Only good thing about the phone is the gorilla glass is very good, not a single scratch on the screen and display/touch is good.

I m using IRIS X8 since 15 days, issue is with it's touchpad, is having too much issues I cant type a single statement without re-typing for atleast 5 -6 times due to wrong charecter gets slected automatically, i.e. if i am to touch on "m" it types "n" and when i am trying to delete anything, it types " m" similarly other charecters are misbehaving.. Pls any one can help me resolve this bug, or do i need to change the touch panel, i would rather go for a new device.

I have been using this cellphone for 1 year and the experience is smooth. Multi-tasking is good. it has never hanged. camera is good on outdoor, but lacks clearity in low light. battery lasts for entire day with internet ON. let me give u all my true experience wid the phone....i had been using it for one year now...i used to play coc, hay day, gta san andres etc and many other games..all this games used to play well though not best but worked well....then after one year i started my experiments i.e. i tried to root lollipop but t no avail....then recently with the latest version of kingroot i successfully rooted it....all was working fine.....but.....super su was not getting installed....i tried to remove king root and then install super su....so i reboot my phone and......alas!! my phone stuck at boot loader....so i was sad...but i had prior knowledge about rooting....so i had a hope...i just downloaded the lollipop official rom again and flashed it through recovery mode and....Hurray!!! my phone works perfectly again.....but i will again experiment wid the phone......

Dear the lava team of research and devlopment please look that in lava iris x8 lollipop we are not update many app and also not able to download again from play store. it always gives the error msg while installing that app i. e. Error-504.But this problem not occured it kitkat version. It means that phone is ok there is lollipop version problem. so please look for it and provide us the new upgrade while solving that some issues. The apps are INSTAGRAM, DAILY CURRENT AFFAIRS ETC.

Never update this phone. Just root your Mobile using Kingroot to avoid unnecessary automatically apps download and Battery drain due to over heating problem. Also don't install any custom ROM. Hi guys, I got it for 8800 rs. The phone is really nice. Battery decent with average use its still showing 52% after full day use. The best part its almost free from blotwares. Built is good, space is almost 13 GB for use & ram is 1.5 GB free on initial s/on.camera is decent, flash is good. No hang or lag. The gesture feature is also nice one.can't ask for more in this price range.

I think like u guys have no luck.... Sometimea...i have alsi faced problems.. But one thing after updating official firmware via mobile. Don't install next update approx size (13 mb package). I think it might be a problem...i felt bad after installing that one after long time i found that culprit sucking battery juice...so..i reinstalled again...but not installed 13mb package....so sure to check that out guys ..and keep an eye on it

Since, I used the Lava Iris X8 mobile last year may month onwards. I am not find out any problem in this mobile, even though two more times unfortunately fell down on the road. Nice battery backup; camera is worth for money; 2 GB ram is perfectly work with an 3G speed data only. Overall the phone rate is 4.5 out of 5 star. Without any doubt; you people may choose this phone of 8000 criteria... ~ Thank You ~

I am using iris x8 from 7 months . I was more comfortable with 4.4 KitKat version Now after update futures got increased but performance falldown drastically. Ex: if some one calles me whoes name already registered in my mobile . initially it displays phone no after 20 sec it displays name after 10 sec disdisplays pick if have. Simple must do guidelines to make sure contacts and dialer dont hang. Every now and then clear up the call history ..big lag due to that in the contacts settings , go to accounts and stop the sync of gmail and whats app (hold that particular account and it opens the options , unsync them go to settings ,app, right scroll to " all " and disable the phone dialer and phone contacts and relaunch them once in a while (almost every week or two ) - warning disabling and clear data /clear storage will remove all the contacts in your phone so before that use the Back up and restore app in your phone (black circle with blue border ) built in app and take a back up of your contacts as on that day (even sms if you want) , once your clear the storage on these two (dialier and contacts storage) you can reload your contacts. The problem of contacts and dialer is common in most phones but this is the best way to beat it - i love this phone but this is an issue i had from day one - i keep unsyncing the contacts and clearing storages whenever the dialer lags - Hope this helps

Lolipop is very good with some added features, but one problem I faced that it's battery is draining bit faster, even if I don't use my phone and keep it as it is... The battery will drain 2-3% automatically, but if use app like greenify which hibernates it will help save yr battery, I would suggest u to upgrade only if u require new looks n all, otherwise if you want a good battery back up then better don't .. Do not update to lollipop. It will drain u r battery. Within 2 days it drain to zero even if it is not in use. And adaptive brightness not working properly. Do not try to change brightness manually when in adaptive mode. And there are several problems. So keep it in KitKat. That is best.

Usually any branded or non branded phone get sluggish if cache is not cleared, downloadding too many apps without play store and app like watsapp keep duplicating files and can't move app on sdcard.Also facebook is biggest power hungry app.Even my wife's i pad gets sluggish with high end graphics processors etc,also samsung not 3 with 32 gb in built memory.

the funny part with not connecting to pc is becos you are using an usb cable which is not supplied by Lava, it has to be a lava cable only. In case it is still not connecting you can use it as a usb device , check the box in developer options. In case your phone doesnt display developer option in the settings menu .. open settings, go to about phone option, open and click 8 times on "build number" - developer options open up good luck

Hmmmm... Battery drains a lot quicker now! After the 5.1 update. On kitkat if i leave my phone at 50% at night, the next morn it'll be somewhere around 48%,but now i left it at 43%(12:00AM), its 13% now! And guess what, 'idle'eats most battery as shown in the battery stats, Otherwise all good. Hope lava tries to fix this issue with some minor update, or battery for lava iris x8 is no more its stronghold.

This phone is a good budget package. And as promised Lava has delivered the lollipop update though a little late than asured but now the phone is even better. The phone is stock Android so the performance is great even though the chipset is mediocre. Work even better. For those who want to update there phone better factory reset your phone and then start up. Use a WiFi connection for updating your phone after you have done a factory reset. My advice is to go ahead and download software , (clean up your sd card and remove both sims- connect to internet and download upgrade) - it takes around 1 hr on wifi.. after that it will automatically ask if it should upgrade - the process takes around 30 mins and after its upgraded , please factory reset the phone and start using .. Bingo ..you are on lollipop.. Have fun

go to XDA forum and download the update. zip(682mb) in 3g ,then go to factory reset, after reset the factory settings, go to settings-about phones-software updates, the package u download don't keep in any folders only just copy to SD card, the phone automatically recognize the updates file.....bongo about 30 minutes later u upgraded to lollipop..... thanks

Lava guys are fooling all its customers. You call them with a problem, they ask you to visit the near by center where they factory reset your phone and give it back to you but the problem still persists. Hangs a lot, especially when one needs to make any emergency call.
