Battery life

Lenovo P2 - User Reviews

  • Samsung M30s is the successor. The funny thing, M30, and M30s both gave exact battery life, heck, M30 gave a better battery life, maybe M30s with next updates it would actually be better In Saudi Arabia M30s is sold officially, But Xiaomi, and Asus are not offered. My P2 is doing great till now 1.5 days battery life with 4G, and hotspot always on, and GPS off. Great performance till now.

  • Mate 20x Zenfone zoom 3 A70 M30 Mi9t

  • After 3 years of using this phone i was forced to buy a new device (Samsung galaxy m30s)! the Battery did lose alot of it's capacity as would be expected with time, so lately it could hardly last a day of my use, formerly it was suffecient for 2-3 days of intenssive use! But the straw that broke the camel's back was that it stuck on the super energy saver mode while i was on travel, and now after 2 days it switches between the 2 modes even though i put it on the normal mode! Well, I'd say that this device was well worth the 300 euros i paid for it!

  • Really its the best phone i had.. Unfortunately its fingerprint sensor malfunctions sometimes but in spite of that, i am still using this phone for last 2 years. ❤️

  • Where did you managed to find new P2 ? Everywhere I looked they are out of stock :(

  • Just purchased my second P2 (Gold), after accidentally breaking my first (Grey) after owning (and using) it for more than 2 and a half years. Dropped from over 10 foot in height and cracked the screen (now completely blank) and digitiser only works for half the screen. Original replacement phone (boot-loader unlocked) Pocophone F1 is now confined to the drawer. Will now buy a more rugged case for the replacement P2, because this one will hopefully last much longer than the first, especially with the now spare battery from the old one. :)

  • its been 3 year till now and its the best phone i had in my entire life...surviving the future forits capabilities and smart features

  • Will anyone sell this phone, I want to buy a Lenovo P2.

  • i will never forget this phone in my lifetime. simply amazing battery life & fast charging.

  • one of the most underrated and best ever battery life phone. I had purchased it on launch day during January 2017 in India at midnight 12 am. In it's 3rd year still it was giving more than 1 day back out on heavy usage and 7-8 hrs of screen time. Now I am using 2 sims, 4G Volte and 3G still gives 1 day back till late night. I wish Lenovo would have brought P3....Don't think it will ever happen. Will have to move on unwilling to another brand phone. Lenovo forget Moto bring back P3 with excellent camera keeping all things same may b even SD625😂😂. Its such an awesome phone. In P2 camera is quite good but not the best in its range even in 2016 everything else is top class with out of this world battery life.

  • Yes, it will be my next phone. I would like to buy the 6/128 version.

  • Can anyone advice why Bootmode is charger error occurs. I gave the phone to servce center they could not resolve it Did OTC software upgrade and flash it does not solve the problem The phone charges seamlessly - but while operating all of sudden it goes off and then screen with error shows. If this is a battery problem can anyone suggest which brand battery can be replaced Kindly share your inputs Thank you in advance Painstakingly being patient with this problem

  • M30s may be will be next leader

  • Samsung M30 sadly does not have NFC :(

  • Samsung M30 is the successor.

  • aprox 1hour and 20 mins with fast charger

  • What is the way to turn it off when the display is unfarmed

  • Lenovo p2s amazing battery secret is its screen. Which is warmer side, not cooler. It's dump every android phone into dust..

  • For me it takes 2h 10min to fully charge. Its always like that. Since I usually charge when battery is at 15%, then its even less time.

  • it comes with 24watt charger ive used it 1 year i fell into water and it stops it takes 1 hour 20mis to charge fully

  • How long this one takes to get fully charged? Reply from any user plz..

  • Currently I'm on 169 charge for my P2 and recently I started to notice that overall run time from 1 charge starting to decrease. Usually 1 charge lasted me 5 days. Now on average it seem to be 4 days (100% discharge to 15%).

  • Xiomi mi note 3

  • Try motorola G7+, 27w charging make up with snaller battery. Z2 play great value, dont buy bigger RAM but old version, will lag thats why cheap

  • The closest one is Samsung A70. Other option is Asus Zenfone 6 but this one does not have AMOLED screen.

  • Been using This since 17. Still loving it. Never thought of changing it until Asus came up with their zenfone 6. If lenovo gonna come up with p3 I think it should look like it.

  • Been using it since early 2017 Now, 2+ years later. Battery was giving 2 days of use, now 1+ day of use. I always keep 4G on, and hotspot on. I look for a phone with 5,000mAh, Super AMOLED display, and less than 7inch display. Like 6.5 or less. Still didn't find it.

  • A good option is a refurbished galaxy s8 plus, new galaxy A50, A70, or a refurbished google pixel 2 xl.

  • Yeah, why did they stop making this one? It's just crazy; best phone.

  • Is there any mid range phones that comes with Super AMOLED display and huge 5,000 mAh battery? Most of the big battery phones I checked either are too bulky or comes with low grade HD screens.

  • What would be a great replacement for this phone in 2019?

  • The best phone ever..three days using without charge, maybe in the future i buy P3..

  • Official LineageOS 16 just got released. I guess I won't be changing phones anytime soon.

  • This set has excellent battery backup. I am using this since last 2 years . After one year it's start creating issue like charging plug not working.speaker and mic not working properly

  • Can anyone tell me how to install custom rom in this phone?

  • Have this phone. its so awesome that I wanted to get 2 of these just incase it went out of production. The best battery life and user interface is more advanced and logical than most of the higher end mobiles. Cam is pretty average but that's not what a phone should be all about.

  • I think Lenovo discontinued making Lenovo p2

  • Is this phone still on sale? I want one of these , looks awesome

  • Just because 'your' banking apps work for you on a custom firmware, does not mean that everyone uses the same banking apps as you, the same custom firmware as you, and obviously are not you. Because everyone is different in what they use and need. That also brings into question how secure such banking apps are when they are allowed to run on a hacked, or an otherwise compromised system. But then again, not everyone is that security concious.

  • Not true. I'm using custom ROM crDroid based on LineageOS and my banking apps work just fine out of the box.

  • Then all the apps that need to work on a 'non-hacked' phone (Banking, travel card and payment apps) will not work, and some won't even install...

  • Ps. And since the stock rom doesn't get updated anymore. I'll go to LineageOS:

  • One of the best telephone so far! It's fast, good resolution with a nice screen. And I LOVVEEE the battery.

  • Tell them to turn the volume up their end. Simple.

  • Mic is not working They can't hear me Extremely low Primary and secondary mics

  • One power or g7 power have quick charge better than m2 max pro

  • Wow.. the phone has a huge battery capacity. Other features quite decent too. My only worry is if 4G network will work in many countries because LTE bands on the specs, are very few for the phone.

  • This one seems interesting - Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M2) ZB631KL. What cought my attention that its support even japanese gps system and of course european Galileo gps, which many phone makers still ignore (BAD) ! Sure there is still things I dont like - for example home button located on the back of phone.

  • This one by far

  • Price wise, Mi Max 3, but it has a 7" display, yet a massive 5,500mAh battery as well. Honor 8X Max, 7" display, 5,000mAh I wish there is 5.5 to 6.5" with 5,500mAh smartphone, perfect size with nice juicy battery. You could go for Chinese smartphones with huge batteries up to 6,000mAh, but they use low end CPUs, GPUs. As well as poor software support.

  • is there any phone can beat this phone in term of battery life..?

  • Anyone face a similar problem like mine please help me out. The problem is that the ultimate power mode has stuck into my phone. and the switch has nothing to do with it as i have went it for repair but the switch is OK. Even i hard reset it but it won't go. And even my phone not detected in computers or laptop. Any solution please help.

  • run the following commands over adb in fastboot mode- fastboot erase modemst1 fastboot erase modemst2

  • hi. my p2 cannot make a call now in sim 1. mybe because I have a touch a radio band. how to fix this problem.

  • i had emmc problem in my lenovo p2 so i cant use my handset anymore ....can i repair it? but no warranty already

  • I think it's hardware issue.... When i try to use fingerprint sensor...it says "fingerprint hardware not available"... Can you suggest me a best custom rom for p2 ? Zefone max pro m2(sd660) & moto one power(sd636)...which is better ?

  • Please Lenovo , upgrade this great phone P2a42 to Oreo and Pie , like all my other Lenovo Tablets has been upgraded to Oreo 8.1.0 this month in Jordan in the Middleeast .

  • hai. I've problem with signal( line) issue. the sim card can read and nothing problem with simcard port, but signal (line) show unavailable/ "x". already factory reset but also same issue. can anyone tell me what is the problem.

  • is it hardware or software issue? Have you tried to flash custom rom? Try it first. Let see if it solve the problem. I would recommend Zenfone Max Pro M2 or Motorola One Power to replace P2,

  • can anyone suggest a replacement for p2 ? i have been using it since it launch.. now im facing problems like fingerprint and touch issues... Any suggestions for the replacement ?

  • No. But why do you need that? It does support cast screen. You have to purchase Google cast if you don't have Smart TV.

  • There is an option in p2. You can take back up of your pics from photos app to google drive. See in settings inside photos app. Use it always friend.

  • It works with jio volte. But while using Airtel 4g it is not supporting volte. Btw, I use only one sim at a time in this phone. To add, it doesn't support dual concurrent volte.

  • Hey does it support HDMI

  • Company made its display so sensitive.. 98% users of lenovo p2 are crying just because of they broke display . I am also the one from them.... Lenovo p2 is awesme phone with battery and its amoled display ... But it has worst display.. today i gave to phone repair shop he said he will arrange its dipslay in 4700 rs. Lets see what happen. Because Lenovo care center said me its cost aroud 8000 rs 😫

  • Does it support HDMI

  • My P2 is about 2 years old. But the battery life is still very good. I charge it thrice a week. It always gives me more than 12 hours screen on time.. What i do is, 1. I don't install any unnecessary apps like antivirus, battery monitor, task killer, speed test etc. I didn't purchase the phone for check those. 2. I always keep its brightness level 10% at home. 3. Background app management (inside power manager) is very helpful for me. I use it to restricts all the apps which doesn't require to run in background or auto start except some important apps like gmail, chrome, google, youtube etc. 4. I don't play game too much but i use wifi a lot for using chrome, youtube and turned off when not in use. That's all..

  • Cool story bro

  • 2018 is ending, so here is some statistics for you about my P2 charging times. In year 2018 I charged my phone 69 times. So average time between charging is 365/69=5.3days - so in reality I charge my phone on average every 5 days. In year 2017 I charged my phone 66 times. As you can see it is almost the same as in 2018. More info: Usually I do charge my phone when remaining charge is 15% or less. And I do switch my phone off during charging, also I do switch my phone during night (when I sleep). I dont keep track on my SOT times, but my wild guess that its about 8hours on average. Happy New Year everyone!

  • Pro-s: great battery, good value for money. Cons: camera is meh and no update past 7.0 which made it bit outdated in a year. Really short lifecycle by Moto/Lenovo

  • Great phone and battery endurance, but is going to happen update to 8.0? phone lagging sometimes and need update asp

  • I miss my Lenovo p2, with normal usage, it last 2 and half day. Now screen is broken and it is so costly to replace screen. I Hope i can get cheaper screen one day, and will fix my lenovo p2. I m still looking the cheaper screen but until now i could not find any one.

  • Happened to my xperia, i change the battery and boot instantly. How long have you used your lenovo? Normally lenovo battery has 3years life time. Galaxy hard to pass 2 years, so lenovo good enough

  • Well if you drop xiaomi etc will be dead instantly. Motorola z play or z force. Why P2 discontinued? So hard to find new one

  • Yes rakan, the battery drop high after two years of using it but still can stay for more than one day

  • Just simply perfect, lenovo should made something like this again, dont forgot the OLED tho~

  • I had the phone since its release and it was marvelous. Unfortunately, it had dropped in water like 4 months ago, after that it worked just fine, but a month ago it stopped working and I couldn't fix it. the maintenance agent want to change the battery, screen and the board, which costs as a new one or even more! what do you suggest? if I have to purchase a new phone, any suggestions for a similar battery life?

  • Been using it since launch.. battery declined noticeably. But even though I let the WiFi hot spot on all the time with LTE it can last more than a day. Lenovo P2 is an amazing device. It's sad that thry killed the series so early. Might upgrade to Mi Max 3, a nice juicy battery but LCD screen.

  • Lenovo P2 is very good phone , Please Lenovo upgrade this phone to Oreo 8.1 like my all other Lenovo Tablets has been upgraded to Oreo 8.0.1 in Jordan - Middleeast .

  • Revert back to stock firmware Nougat 7.0

  • You can even flash Android Pie 9.0 now. You can choose between something like 3 or 4 different Android 9.0 ROMs at the moment

  • You can unlock the bootloader and install custom rom like Android 8.1 (LineageOS 15.1)

  • The phone is old now. Only supports Android 7.0 Lenovo has not availed upgrades to Android 8.X

  • is the fingerprint flex cable in lenovo p1 and p2 are same ?.... bcz i have both the phones...but fingerprint in p2 doesnt work...can i replace it with p1's fingerprint flex cable....or any other solutions ?

  • @azhar75 According to you, at what level the battery life could have degraded now from the date of purchase?? And why??

  • The boot loader have two options the charger mode or normal, seams that your charger mode is broken some how, does it bling long and short or any regularity? Have you tried to post on Lenovo P2 forum?

  • I tried everything but nothing works

  • The best phone I have ever met. and write this in November 2018. The only thing which disappoints me it is Lenovo CEO's stupidness. Why they stopped P series and did not release P3 ((((

  • If you don't want to boot in to charger mode or wait 2 minute, unplug

  • Anyone who is facing a problem same like me. The problem is that i cannot boot my device. Secondly when i connect the charger the red led light only blinks and hard reset also do not boots the phone. So if any solution please post it. I couldn't fine the solution for the problem anywhere., even google search have no proper solutions. Please help. Thanks

  • I had the same issue until I cleaned all io-connections.

  • Not a direct solution but I am assuming you have tried cleaning the speaker grill using some fine bristles and cleaning alcohol. Clearing up the clogged holes will improve the ear piece volume drastically.

  • Suddenly can barely hear persons I am talking to, sound in "ear speaker" is very low! I cannot find any setting for this, can it be that the sound got lower by settings somehow or this is a phone malfunction?

  • Yes a launcher setting...All sorted thank you

  • No no.... But yes there's a launcher... But this problem wasn't there earlier... Just some sudden issue.... Solution please?

  • I'm guessing you are using Nova Launcher...? If yes, just reset all its settings...

  • @azhar75 I know you know the solution as this problem appeared earlier as well

  • The top status bar displaying battery indicator and time is temporary disappearing itself at the home screen @azhar75 solution please..

  • p2 a great phn untill you use

  • Try crDroid 5.0 with Android 9.0. Users reporting it has best battery backup. My phone is in process of bootloader unlocking. Once its done then I am going to flash it with that :)

  • It supports volte. Yesterday I checked by myself

  • Even if I have now a Samsung Galaxy Note 9, I miss my Lenovo P2. Battery life was oustanding. I don't know why Lenovo didn't think about a new P3 with upgraded specs... Something with a 6"2 screen (80% stb ratio), 5500mAh, s710 would have been a best-seller

  • No it doesn't..only big minus point...it has 4g but no volte..not sure what's wrong

  • Touch not working

  • hello..is it P2 support volte?

  • best under 15k

  • still best

  • It's just stock because new phone and I wait 14 days bootloader unlock but I will install crdroid 3.8.7 android 7.1.1 from xda because of battery backup and magmakernel v5.. Ofcourse you can have oreo version too but I prefer better battery on nougat.. I heard DotOs is pretty good too but all oreo roms has some kind of battery drain what I've been hearing..

  • What OS did you install? I want a better os because its very old😂

  • Same problem with me. I miss lenovo p2, my kids just broke the screen and now the screen price only half of the price of lenovo.

  • Take a look @ Linux kernel version on a updated phone @ least 3y old

  • do you mean one power? it doesn't have NFC. how could you write down NFC?

  • moto one power doesn't have NFC..

  • I bought this phone from amazon italy for 300 euros few days ago to replace my few months old lg g6 and I must say I'm impressed after few days with battery. I charged my phone couple days ago and still have +70% juice left with normal usage, not games. I already sent my bootloader unlock request and will install custom os to get even batter battery than with this stock outdated os. 5100mah battery is just dream that these day phones doesn't have specially what comes for battery. Overall use I'm in love with this phone. I'm having my hopes that this phone will last me quite long time. :)

  • there is no update . this is a problem.

  • Lenovo P2 is the best telephone I have ever had. Battery and camera are just unbelievable.

  • You're quite right. I owned the P2 for two years, solid phone and never complained about anything. The battery life is over the roof. Two weeks ago I bought the Pocophone, just for the tempting price. The Poco is great in terms of performance, storage and camera... but I still like the P2 better in terms of S-AMOLED and better battery. Overall both phones are a great investment.

  • I love LenovoP2 but I crashed display and new one Its a half price of new phone... Some1 know that display from P1 fit to P2, diffrience is oled vs amoled but what with switch?

  • Yes, the moto one power priced at 16k...@azhar75

  • Finally, Lenovo owned Motorola brings out a kind of sequel to Lenovo P2. SD636, 4GB ram, 64 internal storage, dual sim, dedicated memory card slot, 5000 mAh battery, 18 watt fast charging, 6.2" 18:9 bezeless display, metal back, 16+5 mpx dual rear camera, 12 mpx front camera with flash, splash resistance, Android One phone with monthly security updates and Android updates. It has everything, NFC, Type C port, FM, 3.5 mm jack, dual band wifi, Bluetooth 5.0 etc etc

  • great phone. had it for a year now and no problem. i was looking at the pocophone the other day and then i started thinking: there's no reason for me to buy a new phone. The Lenovo p2: annoying good phone. :))

  • Yep, but the price... Lenovo has always been very competitive in these terms. Honor is twice as expensive

  • p2 is very much alive still best phone on the market this year and next

  • Ask if LeMoto is even alive in this world or not...

  • Great phone, shame Lenovo didn't make a successor.

  • I broke my P2 screen last week and the phone doesn't work again after that, sorry for this device for being my emotional-release's victim(because playing games).

  • My P2 is doing great as usual... didn't unlock bootloader / root as I don't need rooting anymore.... This coming December 16th will be its 2 years anniversary... will continue to use it until it dies "naturally".... As for P2's replacement, for the same price category, get Poco F1 + Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 Powerbank + fancy aurora casing... Moto One Power (aka Moto P30 Note) will be very expensive (reaching USD450...)

  • Asus Max Pro M1 and Realmi 2 ,Nokia 6.1 Plus

  • This phone dead don't even think about it.

  • Asus Zenfone Max Pro (M1)

  • Is there someone know if this Phone is Available on PH Market ?

  • My Fingerprint is not working.... When i try to unlock phone with fingerprint...it shows that "Fingerprint Hardrive not found".... Whats the solution...i restated the phone...but its still the same...

  • Moto one power

  • Guys, my P2 battery life is declining. With a full charge and a really heavy use, I charge it every other day. I miss the 2~3 days battery life. Is there a new phone in the market beside Xiaomi Mi Max 3 with +5,000mAh?

  • Or the PocoF1??

  • Can the Motorola One Power be a valuable replacer today for Lenovo P2 except the absence of Amoled screen and lower rated fast charger and chipset @azhar75?? Howz urz doing??

  • Is this phone available in market?

  • You can set up auto answering calls when put phone to your ear with P2. Works superbly! You don't need to press/touch anything on your screen.

  • Unable to pick calls, touch not responding when a call arrives. Please help me to solve this problem..

  • 8.Set An Awsome Ringtone and SMS Tone

  • Hi anybody in Bangalore who can help me with LineageOS installation on my Lenovo P2 ?

  • How to Turn Your Lenovo P2 Into an Beast? 1.Unlock Bootloader 2.Install TWRP Custom Recovery 3.Install AEX 8.1 Oreo Custom Rom (Am Using it) 4.Enable "Swipe Up Gestures" Like Oneplus 6 in the Setting. 5.Enable Expanded Dekstop.(Will Hide Navigation Bar and Notification Bar) 6.Intall Any Icon Pack(Am Using s9 UX) and Activate it. 7.Enable Faceunlock under Smart Unlock Setting. Belive Me Guys you Will Fall in Love With Your P2. For Us Lenovo P2 Users It's An Flagship Killer :) P.s- It Has Some Bugs, But VOLTE, NFC,WIFI, Bluetooth is Working Fine Dont Ask me Here Questions,Ask in XDA Thread, Am Just An Customizer not an Developer.

  • Looks OK, but if its not properly released in Europe with correct LTE bands its useless for me. Support for 800MHz band is missing :( Its important for me.

  • hey guys! found a lenovo p2 replacement! the honor note 10! afar from the big size and price, its the p2 in 2018! please see the link fo the youtube video (not a click bait) on how it slaughtered the mi max 3 on battery drain test. also, gsm arena spec sheet says 22.5W charging close to 24W p2 charging!!!

  • regarding Custom ROM's i agree with you ! (but again I haven't used it ever and do not really knwo what advantages they bring to the table) Accubattery and Ampere helps understand Charging speed, monitor Battery health etc. I dont use it always, but helps. The point was, the phone does not report battery Charging and Discharge values to apps and thats a problem. Regarding contacts, Thanks for your suggestion, but i am in business and need these. Its a specific use case and probably trimming contacts is not a solution to an actual problem of Google contacts sync / contacts missing on P2 (but still available in Google web contacts).

  • Exactly what i am doing i.e., imported Google Contacts manually, but the issue is new contacts do not get synced (few in random), so its a matter of chance always ! Also, can i assume it is just me and no one else is facing Google contacts missing / sync issue ?

  • Guys, does Lenovo P2 support EIS??

  • My P2 Will complete its First anniversary by Aug 12 2018.I really Loved it to the core...I heard about S252 update.Any One updated it manually..? is Airtel Volte supports after 252 update?

  • Sorry to hear that. I have faced the same problem. Fortunately it was under warranty period and they replaced the screen within one day. Smartphone nowadays very fragile. No guarantee even if you buy expensive phone..

  • Export your contact to vCard from google contact ang then import manually to your phone using contact apps

  • The touch screen of my P2 broke : it became unresponsive in the middle for a width of 1 cm, detected using the Lenovo Help App. I was hoping that it would life at least 2 years, it doesn't reach even 1 and a half year. One of the worst purchases ever (besides the lach of updates) and I won't recommend Lenovo Brand to anyone.

  • VoLTE support or not?

  • You don't need to install apps like Accubattery, Ampere to monitor battery. That's does not do any help except consuming more battery. Just install what is really necessary. Delete some old use less contacts. Why you need to transfer 1000 contracts. Free some space. Don't install custom rom. Original is the best. I don't know why people need to do this. They want super powers? It damages smartphone..

  • Better unlock and install custom AOSP oreo ROM

  • Hi friends, i broke my Samsung S7 and switched back to LENOVO P2 that was stored away in my drawer. I have strange problem a. My entire Google Contacts is not syncing with this phone. Tried RESET and FORMAT like 3 times with no luck. I have over 1000 contacts, but this phone syncs less than 1/2 of it every time I reset the phone. b. "Accubattery" and "Ampere" apps are unable to monitor battery. Any help ?

  • Lenovo P2 is really amazing. Just completed 1 and half years. It's still giving me average 13 hours screen on time just like its first day. Super amoled display is very good, Snapdragon 625 is a good processor for daily task, always on finger print sensor on the front side is really helpful to navigate. Camera is good in daylight, and sound quality is really mind blowing. Loud and clear. Very few phones have 24 watt fast charging support. Android 7 is good os. Never lag. No security updates after aug 17 but not facing any problem. I really love this phone. People are now fighting for bezzel less display, notch or notch less, 18:9 or 16:9 etc etc bla bla.. But no other phone can give same performance like Lenovo P2. It's a very good balanced device. What's missing in it? Almost nothing. Gyroscope, compass, NFC, everything what you need is present. It's very sad that Lenovo is not paying attention on P series anymore. Thanks for read. ;-)

  • P2 owners - does anyone using P2 with google pay application? When I search in play store it does not even show google pay application. When I manually go to google pay url via www, then it shows that my phone is not compatible with this application. p.s. I am still using android 6.0.1 on my P2.

  • dont see disadvantage about p2.. user who play game dragon nest m,pubg, ros or other game with high & more high grapic, sure no lag! i user p2! :)

  • ur right

  • True.

  • Nope not really

  • Definitely just pieces of junk.

  • Hello peeps, Any tech geek pls help out. I want to know if battery apps, antivirus and cleaners do help our smartphones or are just pieces of junks. Help please!

  • Hard reset and don't restore any apps. Period.

  • Even Google photos is deleting my screenshots!! @azhar75

  • Could be because LeMoto never bother to update their Gallery app anymore... Just use Google Photos and we are all living in a happy world...

  • Using it for more than a year.. Last week ordered Oneplus 6 and it's was my primary . After a week's usage, switched back to P2 as my primary device again. Fed up with the battery backup of oneplus 6. I think mainly after using smartphones like P2 which has given me solid battery backup of 2 days even with heavy usage it is not easy to tolerate battery draining issues in smartphones like 1+. Average Camera in P2 that made me to go for One-plus.But now understood it was a stupid decision taken by me. Now back to pavilion.. P2 rockzz!!!

  • Is the reason a buggy Lenovo official Gallery app installed via apk??

  • Hard reset is the last resort... You can try uninstalling 3rd party apps one by one (starting from the most recent apps) and monitor from there onwards...

  • Any other option please...

  • Current Mi Max 1 & 2 have a seriously big design with a lot of bezel. but Mi Max 3 will most likely follow smaller bezel trend. We shall see how it ends up.

  • Must be the LeMoto P3 "ghost" that is disturbing all your screenshots......LOL...... if I were you, I'd just HARD RESET, HARD RESET, HARD RESET....

  • I don't know for what reason but my screenshots got deleted again.... Irritating... Please help @azhar75

  • Battery seems nice, but display size (overall size of device) ? I dont know.. Seems a bit unpractical to carry around such monsters. For me sweet spot is exactly 5.5''.

  • I'm waiting for Xiaomi Mi Max 3. I hope it gets an AMOLED display.

  • Memory cards is ok to use but this phone have problems recognize on boot you need to boot until there is no error. Annoying

  • But screenshots are saved in the internal storage by default... And moreover Sandisk micro sd card...!!

  • Could it be the microSD card is faulty...? Never ever use microSD card anymore... It tends to easily broken for unknown reasons ... Always use Google Photos to auto-backup images and videos including screenshots, photo editing, 360 degree photosphere, etc....

  • Don't know for what reason, but out of nowhere, I lost all my saved screenshots that had some important stuff related to my studies... First of all it said no thumbnail and then even got deleted by its own... Same thing happened to another folder as well... At least 50% of the screenshots were very important... Also checked for viruses n all but everything was fine... But even after all of them got deleted, today again same problem occurred and another new screenshot got deleted by its own in the same way!! Can't I rely even that much on my phone... It just broke my trust @azhar75

  • Looks like you have to start unlock bootloader and flash custom ROM(s)... As games are updated from time to time to enhance the gaming experience, the P2 hardware remains the same... Hence, to cater the updated games coding and experience, we have to start looking around for better ROM(s) for gaming purposes... Please bear in mind that custom ROM(s) "MAY" not have the full features compared to stock ROM like Rocket Charge, One-Slide Power Saver, screen cast to smart TV, etc.

  • Hello guys I am experiencing intense lag and fps drop in online gamess like rules of survival and mobile legends. How can I fix this i already factory reset alot of times but still lagging. I tought this phone can run high qual games but rules of survival cant even be smooth at lowest graphics. How can i solve this?

  • Stock AOSP player, Retro Music player, Back Player. Imho these are the best

  • In general never buy a Lenovo product or from a poor manufactures that can't respect your security and privacy P2 still the best phone in terms of the hw and you need to wait another two years for the next meaningful generation to arrive, but it's like your home that everyone have tons methods to get in, Google have publish where the keys are but Lenovo refugee to patch

  • VLC is the name of the game everywhere

  • Is anyone using Google Play Music on this phone & having bugs?? Please suggest a better music player guyz....

  • I hope somebody will release similar battery monster phone (+ balanced other specs) by time P2 battery will degrade. So far I charged my phone 97 times (31 times this year). Average time between charged - 5 days (I do switch off phone during night).

  • No software updates since November 2017, Lenovo team is sleeping on the job!!

  • We have to be rational... expect energy consumption plummeting as the built-in battery pack degrades over time... Even if we downgraded back to the old ROM, the energy consumption will still be as bad as the new ROM... That's why judging by looking at the number of days or even Screen-on-Time (SoT) may be misleading. Only the owner of the P2a42 will be able to monitor the energy consumption closely in monthly basis... My P2a42's energy consumption degradation is within my expectations even if after several OTAs... the hypothetical "workaround" is to test and use an app called "AdGuard" which will block unnecessary background activities...we have full control over these background activities... it works for my case for the past 2 months...I have high intention to purchase the app accordingly...

  • I am using a p2 lovely phone.. initially I use to get 2days of battery life.. if avoided net may be 3days.. but now I J's get one day... I tried formatting my cell but still didn't work... Is it cauz of the update to Android 7..? req. Help..

  • Here is June security updates but Lenovo don't give a D.. of your privacy or security it's clear isn't compatible with GDPR and PSD2 European regulations

  • It's the best mobile phone I've ever bought. Pros: 1- Excellent battery life & Fast charging. 2- Good camera. 3- Fast processing time. 4- Nice design & Good price. Cons: 1- A bit big size. 2- Not supported after Nougat update.

  • can anyone recommend me a phone of similar characteristics but smaller in size?

  • I've mentioned last week that Z5 will be a major let down... But at least, consumer has more options on the mid-range tiers... Goodbye LeMoto Z5... & welcome Xiaomi Mi 8 SE....

  • How creepy is the Lenovo Z5 @azhar75??

  • If you try buying your first phone. Just buy Lenovo p2. I use for 1 year already and the phone never fail me. God battery Still can play PUBG at mid frame rate and low setting Ok camera. Fast UI Now I waiting for zenfone 5z to replace my first phone. Which mean make my Lenovo P2 to be my secondary phone for power bank, message, WiFi hotspot for my zenfone 5z. For my zenfone 5z I gonna use it for video shooting, camera shooting, gaming, multimedia ;) Trust me just buy it. Just fucking buy it 10 hours of SOT, Is overpower

  • Oops sorry... It was because of my launcher only but strangely I didn't opt for that option... Problem solved...

  • As usual on 99.9 % depends on added software install, troubleshoot like this uninstall latest apps make sure to clean the phone and reboot for ever app backward until it's works normally.

  • Nova Launcher installed...?

  • Don't know from where but a new small problem experiencing @azhar75... While at home screen, the top panel that displays time, battery %, network, etc is just disappearing by itself until I drag it down again... Happening only while on home screen... No third party applications installed related to status bar n all.. Any solutions please??

  • I had a problem like this. For a very short time, the screen went black but phone was on even it was unlocking. Was very tensed. Then I did restart my phone by pressing volume up + volume down + power key for 10 to 20 seconds. Then suddenly it took restart. Everything fine then. Make sure it has charge..

  • Depend how you use the phone in my opinion the SD625 is still the king way better than 800 series who needs more juice on a phone and the camera is like instruments people who can't play doesn't matter the kind of instrument they have.

  • hello,my p2 is screen black ..why?and mny fon p2 at my country malaysia get same problem to...screen get black not have display..ist screen fast damage?im very sad..

  • If Only Lenovo P2 had dual clear speakers, more RAM like 8 to 10 GB, 256 GB to 2 TB Internal storage, Dual 4G standby by 2018 it will definitely be the best phone in the world. No doubts PROS- 1) Best battery Life in world ~ 5,100 mAh energy supply with slim 8.3mm profile. 2) Rocket-charge better than Qualcomm Quick-Charge 3.0. 3) Has RADIO Which even the costliest 1 lakh INR Smartphones doesn't have 4) Upgrades from Lenovo 5) Reverse charging thru supplied micro-USB adapter. 6) Front-mounted always-on fingerprint reader with optional Android home, back & recent apps navigation. 7) Diamond PenTile Super AMOLED with 510 nits. 8) NFC for mobile payment and peripherals. 9) One-key Ultimate Power Saver slider. CONS - 1) Hybrid Dual SIM slot 2) not the best processor, only 4 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal Storage 3) Speakers Not So crystal Clear and has a dummy speaker 4) Not the Best Camera Else it's the Best in it's segment, worth every penny,

  • Lenovo p2 is a nice phone

  • Hi I can not decide which phone to buy and I am between lenovo p2 and Sony xperia L2 and Sony xperia xa ultra can you please help me

  • I very confused at your post? Makes little sense. Motorola / Lenovo are flying at the moment and seem unstoppable, releases everywhere and doing crazy well with mega sales of their insanely popular phones. = K5 (very recent release), K9 (coming soon), K7, S5 (out and doing OK), Z3 - this will be a huge release. The Zuk Edge 2 is now due, the Z5 - a lot of people are waiting on this and its record-breaking screen-to-body ratio (Poss June 5th 2018 release!). Moto's G6 range are doing very well right now. Can you respond? Or are you very wrong..

  • Annoying almost 12gb of junk files, Lenovo experts in a nutshell.

  • well said

  • Not only the P series, whole Lenovo is officially dead I suppose... No major launches, no successor for its best selling K series, not even handling its Moto lineup well... The next upcoming smartphone is the Lenovo Z5 launching next month!!

  • P2's Top 10 uniqueness are: 1) Rocket-charge better than Qualcomm Quick-Charge 3.0. 2) 5,100 mAh energy supply with slim 8.3mm profile. 3) Reverse charging thru supplied micro-USB adapter. 4) Front-mounted always-on fingerprint reader with optional Android home, back & recent apps navigation. 5) Diamond PenTile Super AMOLED with 510 nits. 6) NFC for mobile payment and peripherals. 7) Semi-AI rear camera with 4K video recording. 8) One-key Ultimate Power Saver slider. 9) 86dB loudspeaker with dedicated amplifier. 10) Semi-Pure stock Android OS. Current selling price is below USD230. There is none "similar" to specs above. The closest are: 1) Samsung Galaxy A9 Pro; 2) Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom ZE553KL; 3) Asus Zenfone Max Pro ZB601KL/ZB602KL; 4) Xiaomi Mi Max 2; 5) Motorola Moto E4/E5 Plus. 6) Other Second Grade China-made models; eg. Gionee, Oukitel, Elephone, Ulefone, Bluboo, Blackview, Vernee, Leagoo, Doogee, Cubot, etc. Almost all current P2 owners are hoping to upgrade to P3 but Lenovo has unofficially ended the P-series as of now. There is no contender or replacement for this "state-of-the-art" at the moment...

  • Is there any competetor for lenovo p2 with the same specs ?

  • I got no updates and stil S251... Updater said its up to date

  • hi. now P2 can unlock bootloader. means P2 get to update to oreo.

  • Thanks a lot dude 😊

  • New update found. 69MB, April 2018. S254. Then I wake up and found nothing. So sad. No future update. Lenovo P2 is my girlfriend.

  • This phone is so good that the price has basically not dropped since release

  • Here is another one on a latest aosp sort of

  • Go for it. I'm using it since December 2017 and there's not a single problem. I spend my time reading epub, watching YouTube, web browsing and playing fighting and racing games. Even though I have less than 5gb out of 64gb rom there's no lag in day to day usage. It sometimes lag playing high graphics demanding games except that no lag whatsoever. It's a great phone.

  • It's good. But power save button doesn't work

  • Hi ,guys what do you thing of Lineage OS 14.1 un Lenovo P2 b!!?

  • Thank you guys, I think I will go for p2 because of battery and Amoled screen advantage.

  • Lenovo P2(SD625) better on performance and efficiencies if compare with Nokia 6 2017(SD430) but the Nokia 6 2018(SD630) is slightly better on performance. Lenovo P2 come with Android Marshmallow and upgradable to Nougat mean Nokia 6 2017 come with Nougat and upgradable to Oreo and Nokia 6 2018 come with Oreo out of box.

  • P2 is better IMO.

  • Hello guys, I need your help to make a decision. Want to upgrade my phone, and considering p2 or nokia6, pls which one is better? I enjoy spending much time on the internet and play games. Help me out pls.

  • If the price is little bit lower it can be a best buy.

  • Hi, does it make sense to buy this phone for 160$ now ? or is it better to buy a newer phone?

  • Yeah...the touch screen digitalizer assembly costs about 80-100usd...

  • 1) Full backup... 2) Get temporary phone and restore backup... 3) Send cracked P2 to service center for quotation... 4) If within your budget, phone will need more than 2 weeks to repair if spare parts not available. If done by 3rd party repair centre, risk is at your own... 5) If repair is expensive, use the temporary phone to become permanent and the cracked P2 put in your car dashboard as dash-cam...

  • My p2's screen has been broken....only the glass had broken...no complaint with the touch and display....what should i do....can I replace the front glass...its gorilla, right ?...

  • Indeed. My P2 battery life is declining. After the Nougat update, and over 1 year usage, SoT never exceeds 10 hours. While before it easily hits 14 hours as an average. I usually now get about 9 ~ 10 SoT

  • Yes only after 365 days usage... now my P2 is 1 year 5 months old is giving me roughly 8 hours SoT with similar usage pattern like always... Meaning, I'm saving myself about USD500 per year for not even bother to upgrade or buy new phone...my hypothesis is to use P2 for 3 years... after 3 years, flagship price will be above USD1,000 for sure... with these USD500 per year saving, I can "afford" Sammy Galaxy X version 2... LOL...

  • "Edit" the shortcut icon in the notification panel to include "Screenshot" command. The P2's screenshot has scroll/longshot too...

  • I have an issue with the battery, after it was gave 10 hours screen on, now only give about 8 hours! Anyone have the same?

  • Press volume down and power button together at the same time.

  • 10.5gb of junk twice just a hours in between, Lenovo experts in a nutshell

  • How can i use for screenshot in this phone? Thank you in advance

  • Would have been a killer if the Xiaomi Mi A2 aka Mi 6x would come up with a bumped up battery, but only 3010mAh really not enough and that's the only negative of this phone... It will come along with the Android One platform but one thing that I don't understand is why they have stated that it will feature the MiUi 9.5...Where's the stock Android then?? Stock Android One plus MiUi, it really seems like a mistake by Gsmarena!! But really a good option with snapdragon 660 at budget price!! On the other hand, the newly launched Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 may be par with P2 but considering the brand, I don't think it would make its way easily... Even in the reviews, the fingerprint scanner takes quite a bit of time to unlock, not at all acceptable in 2018!!

  • Not sure. But because of the competition they should release directly 8.0 and new P3 with 8.1

  • You are right. But I am talking about its availability in India and compared with the mobile available in India.

  • The LENOVO P2 is an amazing phone with massive battery . In KSA its price is very cheap compared to Indian money. KSA-599riyal

  • Now that Asus has launched mobile wit h much better configuration, barring screen, and much lower price, Lenovo P2 needs to bring down it's selling price . On flipkart, price for 3GB is 14,990/- and for 4GB 17,999/-.

  • Lenovo P2 packs a super AMOLED display which deliver infinite contrast. Basically, Lenovo P2 has a better display. Anyone going from Lenovo P2 to the new ASUS phone, it would be a downgrade for the diaplay. So, you have to accept it because of the newer CPU, RAM, an assumably better camera, and memory size of the new ASUS phone.

  • Can anyone tell me, what is the contrast ratio of Lenovo P2's Amoled Display? Is it better than Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (big name)

  • Wow! really? I thought that, the problem is occurring because their server is down.. I tried to unlock oem few days back.. It simply says Network unavailable.. & I think that's server issue.. Now, yesterday someone posted on XDA.. that many people are facing oem server issue.. & Lenovo is looking into it.. Now what really the matter is.. only Lenovo knows! But if your saying is right.. Then that would be a miracle..

  • Possibility Oreo 8

  • Im facing same problem. Another problem is that i can't unlock bootloader. Everytime show network problem

  • Asus Zenfone Max Pro launched in India. Most amazing phone at Amazing price. 5000 mAh battery, Super fast charging like P2(full charge in 2 hr 30 miuntes), Snapdragon 636, dedicated dual sim slot, dedicated memory slot, 6 inch 18:9 IPS display with slim bezels, great speaker with NXT amplifier and 5 magnets. 1500:1 contrast ratio. 13mpx + 5mpx back camera, 8 mpx front camera with LED flash. This variant is for 3gb and 4gb ram. 16mpx dual back camera, 16mpx front camera with LED flash. This variant is for 6gb ram. Stock Android 8.1, promised updates to Android P and Android Q. Ram/Storage variants - 3gb/32gb for 11,000 Rupees ($165). 4gb/64gb for 13,000 Rupees ($195). 6gb/64gb for 15,000 Rupees ($226). RAM is the latest flagship DDR4x in all variants. There is no phone that can beat this phone now. AMAZING !!!

  • Yes its sad! Google contacts stopped sync with P2 for almost a month now

  • Great specs from Asus. It.would be better if it has NFC for electronic payments

  • Redmi Note 5 Pro (India)/Redmi Note 5(China) is a nice upgrade but you will have to see if you can be happy with lesser battery life. P2 has 5000 mAh battery while Xioami ones have 4000mAh. And even Xiaomi ones don't get much android upgrades or security updates. RN5 will remain on Oreo/P at the most and rarely any security update. In my opinion, wait for upcoming Asus phone.

  • Looking for an upgrade I lost all confident in any future security patches or Oreo updates. Is the upcoming Redmi Note 5 (global) running 636 viable upgrade? I read atm for release there isn't 6GB version but instead it will be a 4GB Ram 64GB version.

  • Usually this is the indicator that an OTA is coming... but I doubt that will be a reality...

  • While trying to check for a update, Network connection failed error showing.. Anyone facing this?

  • No sync cantact

  • Not at all a better upgrade to the P2!!

  • Except for the old tech IPS screen.... If it's LTPS IPS panel, I'll passed... if it's IGZO panel, it'll be a bonus.... NFC and fast charge is extra whereas USB Type-C is optional... Let's see whether ASUS listens to my requests or not...LOL...

  • It's launching under Asus Flipkart partnership in India. So it might be launched at affordable price this time around. But if it isn't, as usual price will drop like crazy and it will be affordable for people later on. This is the most true Lenovo P2 spiritual successor. Massive battery, latest processor which is both powerful enough and power efficient, great speaker, modern design, great cameras front and back(which is an improvement over P2), 3 dedicated slots, latest stock android, better ram, better storage. What else one would want who is in market for an upgrade from P2 ? Everything is improved.

  • Asus launching price is as usual like Sammy, Huawei, etc. Over-priced and will drastically drop within 3 months... This is "boring" and well-known marketing stunt... Expecting to be launched around USD399...

  • Here comes the successor to Lenovo P2 by Asus. Named Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1. GSMarena has done the story today. 5000 mAh battery, Snapdragon 636, Pure Android Oreo(maybe even Android One), 6" screen, 18:9 aspect ratio, upto 6gb ram, upto 64gb storage, 2 sim slots, one memory card dedicated slot, Dual 16 mpx camera on back, 16mpx selfie camera with face unlock, 5 magnet speaker with dedicated NXT amplifier. To be unveiled on 23rd April in India. Will be Flipkart exclusive.

  • What do you mean by syncing contacts

  • Here comes a good tweak under developer options set the smallest weight to 500 do you like it?

  • New update coming soon!!

  • Battery still rock solid can't tell the difference but 10gb of junk files every other day it's annoying

  • On the contrary, my 1 year old Lenovo P2 is still working perfectly well without any problem, except maybe a slight decrease in battery capacity because of my heavy usage and frequent charging since the begining.

  • Until we "HARD" reset the device, we can't conclude it is not usable.

  • I’ve owned the p2 for a year. Up until a month ago this was an excellent phone. Then all of a sudden it developed a bug. It stopped synching contacts properly. I was the first to log this problem on the Lenovo forum. Then others logged it. Now dozens have done so. Lenovo briefly tried to solve the problem then seemed to lose interest. I and many others became bitterly disappointed with Lenovo’s lack of care. The phone is unusable. There is currently no fix. I and others have had to purchase new phones and ditch our P2s.

  • The good thing about having 5,100mAh energy supply is that the "rocket charge" tech will quickly fill up 50% of 5,100mAh capacity within 30 minutes... this is definitely needed when we wakeup every morning, take shower & breakfast before starting car's engine... No point those mobile that has less than 3,500mAh energy supply to have quick/dash/fast/express charge tech when only 50% energy is refilled after 30 minutes... having around 1,750mAh energy supply might not be enough to cover standby & usage from 8am till 6pm; especially for heavy intensive apps running in the background... Awaiting for Sammy to embed Galaxy Note9 with 4,000 mAh energy supply this year...it may come with Qualcomm QC 4+... they have to test thoroughly the next gen 7,000 mAh energy supply for foldable dual-screen Galaxy Note10 (aka Galaxy X...?) next year... In the meantime, Huawei Watt Lab has a prototype to get energy recharge to 48% from 5 minutes charging period...but 48% from total of how many mAh is yet to be disclosed ; source The LeMoto's Rocket Charge is not as "efficient" as OnePlus Dash Charge because during Rocket Charge, lots of energy loss via heat... Dash Charge does not have this deficiency...

  • When connected to internet it shows 4G and not LTE. Other phones show LTE. Why?

  • Heat and batteries are a really bad thing, until we get proper sensors on every cells it's better during charge to keep it cool and wait couple more minutes personally I use a quality charger and the phone is always cool under charge

  • By the way, didn't tell this before but hey P2 users, even though there may be many trends in the recent smartphone launches but still then our P2 rocks yet in the battery & charging department... Haven't you realized yet that the charger that comes with this phone is indeed technically the best and the "Fastest" charger you could ever get?? Yes that's true, our 24Watt fast charger is indeed the fastest if we do not consider the next generation Qualcomm quick charge 4.0... The second highest and also in the rarest cases that I have came through is a close to 22Watt charger & extremely few of the 20Watt chargers being common... And yes our P2 still rocks and will be rocking over the years to be technically the fastest charger in Mathematical/physical terms (i.e., 12V at 2A being highest =24Watt)... Even the recently launched flagship Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ supports the old quick charge 2.0, being a total shame of Samsung to bundle that old low rated charger for its flagship device!! @azhar75 Whats your take on this?? Leaving the camera & old aspect ratio screen, our P2 will definitely overtake over others for another couple of years when it comes to battery and the most "Powerful" charger!!

  • By the way, didn't tell this before but hey P2 users, even

  • Yes the Software of Lenovo P2 can be updated to Android 7.0 Noughat. The last update was 1 November 2017, Built Number P2a42_S251_171107_ROW.

  • it"s realy can update system to 7 nougat?

  • Absolutely right

  • Lenovo P2 is superior to Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 not only in terms of battery life, but also in terms of Super Amoled Display and NFC. I don't know about camera comparisson test, maybe Redmi Note 5 is slightly better because it's a new phone. But over all Lenovo P2 is stil much better than Redmi Note 5. I cannot find in the market a phone that has power efficient Snapdragon 625 Soc that is coupled with 5,100 mAh battery, and there is NFC in it, except the magnificent and superior Lenovo P2.

  • Well, you can still unlock the bootloader of your P2. All you need are following things. 1) lenovo id.(create if you don't have one.) 2 patience. Lenovo takes 14 days to give the permission to unlock the bootloader. Go to Developer options- Tap on Enable OEM unlocking- Enter your Lenovo id and wait for 14 days. 3)Once after 14 days it will ask you to reboot in fastboot mode and using adb and fastboot method bootloader will be unlocked and after that custom recovery such TWRP or red wolf recovery will be flashed. 4} Then visit xda website for various custom roms.

  • Lenovo zucked up

  • Just assume the updates / upgrades are ended at Build number P2a42_S251_171107_ROW....

  • Lenovo team must be sleeping, no regular updates since Nov 2017.

  • The main reason to get P2 "today" is merely the SuperAMOLED screen... having current price of about USD225 for SuperAMOLED tech is beyond Xiaomi's reach... if one never own a smartphone having SuperAMOLED in his life, this is the right time...

  • In terms of Battery Life do you think it is better to choose this phone or the Redmi Note 5 (china version) ? The Lenovo p2 has a better battery life but Redmi Note 5 is not bad and is new. What do you think ?

  • Just tap to get root, 🤦

  • Don't buy this phone if you plan to root it or install custom roms. The bootloader is locked and can't be unlocked. The Lenovo and XDA forums are full of people crying about it go and see.

  • Supports both VoLTE and 4G+ on both nano-SIMs but active ONLY on either nano-SIM...

  • is Lenovo p2 support 4G

  • I am also playing online game Bia3 daily from 5 to 6 hours on 4g.it heats little bit not much.

  • I think normally phone will get heat for extreme use, while im using 4G playing high graphics online game will got heat

  • Does not happen to me

  • Talk to your Consumer organisation and claim you right

  • security patch till may 18??? we havent got update since november2017

  • All features are good. But "call dropping" is a problem. When network signal change tower to tower signal is disappear..and call is dropping..

  • dont root this phone this phone is not made to costomise no android updates but you can expect security update till may 2018

  • Have you ever find overheat problem on that extreme used?

  • Next is a soc with a55 and 10nm not a huge step better to wait for second general 7nm

  • I have been using this phone about one year, this is the best phone thatI never had, the average screen on time can get more than 8 hours even 4G always on. I really hope that Lenovo can continue the P series.

  • I have been using this phone about one year, this is the best phone thatI never had, the average screen on time can get more than 8 hours even 4G always on. I really hope that Lenovo can continue the P series.

  • Yes. The 4K footage goes directly to the UHS-II U3 micro-SD card because the 32GB eMMC5.1 internal storage has about 10GB capacity after installing all the apps that I need. So, taking 4K footages consume lots of storage as we are aware . . . hence, getting the right micro-SD card for 4K footage is a must on any device... the same applies to GoPro/Xiaomi action cam/drone camera... Now, why do we need 4K footage? We are no more living in the 19th century... today we can get cheap 4K UHD TV ... I have the "Samsung 55-inch UHD 4K Curved Smart TV SAM-UA55MU6300"... with gimbal and P2 combo, taking 4K footages is important to view in high quality 4K TV... no more pixelated images when viewing on 4K UHD TV... enjoying every moments and memories in 4K format... furthermore, YouTube already supported 8K res... so, we can also watch the same 4K footage on 4K TV after uploaded them to YouTube... an alternative to share via WhatsApp or social medias but on a bigger screen for the whole audience to watch as we can see all the "microscopic" details in 55" 4K UHD TV compared to 6" screen on smartphone... Be it birthday party, wedding ceremony, jungle tracking, sightseeing, functional events, etc, having a gimbal and P2 with 4K footage will store these memories in a reliable way.. And thanks to the energy efficiency of SuperAMOLED screen, Snap625 SoC as well as 5,100mAh (well now it's over a year... should be around 4,750 mAh), we can take more than 4 hours 4K video footage on a single charge...

  • Something similar...

  • Do u store videos clicked by camera on sd card?? Whats the need of shooting at 4K??

  • Install A1 SD Bench and post the resultat here

  • Transferring from the 32GB internal storage (eMMC5.1) to the UHS-II U3 is averaged at 91MB/s... below than the claimed 100MB/s write speed... but it's doing fine recording 4K without audio sync issue...

  • Have you checked the speed of the card on this device?

  • I needed to add myself to the defense of this phone : been using it for over a year and everything runs smoothly. I haven't got any lag whatsoever since I bought it. The battery is still as awesome as ever (haven't got to 0% yet !) I don't know what you did with it but either you are quite unlucky or you are just salty because you somehow destroyed your phone and had to pour your hate somewhere...

  • Just ensure UHS-II U3 with write speed of 100MB/s... it won't be cheap though... 64GB with LIFETIME WARRANTY costs about USD100... this is what I'm using right now...

  • 64 GB SanDisk Class 10.

  • Anyone suggest me best memory card for P2

  • Dude after 7h Still have 80% of battery left

  • You are either not using a P2 or you don't know jack about smartphones. Build quality is excellent, the screen is super responsive with great clarity and colors. Been using this phone for over 1 year and it still works like new.

  • Very bad and poor quality phone total wrost of mony display quality very poor i bought this phone July 17 nd this is totally damage nd not work condition

  • Only 6 to 7 hours screen on time? Mine giving me about 13 hours SOT since 1 year.. I use wifi, wcdma only, 10% brightness, chrome, youtube, only 7 background running apps, no torrent, no heavy game, no whatsapp etc..

  • You probably moved your Asphalt 8 game data and files to the Memory Card, move them back to the internal Memory and the game should start responding very fine... Never move any apps or games to the External Memory card...I have had deep experience with this...Thank me later

  • I'm using this battery monster for almost a year now, I have a daily on screen time average of 6 hours. With no WiFi always on 4G.now the battery capacity takes a Hit!! 7% To 10% on total capacity in 24 hours standby I will get 7min screen on time with mixed use web browsing, gaming, apps, etc,. Now I'm getting only 5 or 6min for every single percentage . and the standby time also down to 16 to 20 hours. Even I changed 100% only 20 to 25 only. most of time my max is 80% charge. I'm waiting for Lenovo p3! I strongly recommend jst try this series for hardcore mobile users! U will never go back or leave! I hope P3 on D way.

  • Yes, everyday its more than 8 GB junk files.

  • It depends. European price of €400 is approx. 6.7 millions in my currency. While Chinese price is approx. 5 millions. And since here is Lenovo P2 thread, looking back, the P2 was priced around 4 millions something when it first came here. 5 to 6 millions for a new Nokia 7 Plus may be just right. It is not even half the price of a Samsung Note 8 here (13 millions). ;-)

  • It will be priced high...

  • Yeah, pretty much underwhelming in contrast to the rumored 6000 mAh battery. Still no P2's successor in sight... I'm looking at Nokia 7 Plus for the time being...

  • Lenovo S5 got released. With SD625, and 3,000mAh battery lol

  • The phone every other day creates on its own almost 8gb of useless junk nothing gonna help to this behaviour Lenovo isn't the brightest as use can see another thing is stopping security updates when many customers still have over 1 year of warranty that kind of stupidity should be punished

  • My asphalt 8 menu screen is lagging. No lags when playing it though its all smooth, But when im in menu screen or when i check different cars its laggy anyone else experiencing this?

  • Don't use your micro sd card as internal storage, use as a portable storage. all apps, games should be on internal storage.

  • eMMC 5.1 is not as fast as UFS 2.1 (Android flagship) /NVMe (iPhone X 256GB)... 4GB LPDDR3 RAM is not as fast as LPDDR4X(flagships)... For these reasons, we need to clear the cache on weekly basis especially if we have lots of background apps running constantly... Alternatively, turn ON the P2's "Battery Saver" options all the time...

  • My problem is solved now I think some of my apps was on Microsd card.. I removed my microsd and formatted my phone again tried Asphalt ,Rules of survival, mobile legends and heroes evolved. Now all is working fine no more stutters and lag all working smooth, I can finally play games better noww.. :)

  • Why instagram "Sometimes" stutters in the phone? @azhar75

  • Please i have very important questions for this phone, (1) Is it ever going to receive any software update and Android security patches again? (2) Is there any recorded or known issues or problems when Lenovo Vibe P2 's bootloader is unlocked and the device is rooted?... Please i need very experienced answers only from people whp have rooted their Lenovo Vibe P2 and people who deep understanding of mobile phones and iys components... Thanks

  • Waiting for update.....

  • Never use the microSD card to store apps...

  • Its installed in my internal storage. Should i move it to sd card?

  • I've played the Rules of Survival in Solo mode. All good without stutter at 30fps. Team mode also smooth... Played thru WiFi only...

  • Most probably the Land of Oz won't have it... you'll need to import thru GearBest.com or the like...

  • The game is installed in internal storage or microSD card? What game is this again? We can test for you on our unit(s)...

  • Ahh i dont get it when I try high graphic games it lags and it stutters alot too.. how can i solve this i already factory reset 2 times and still it lags and stutters for some reason.

  • I have a 4.2 A/H Xiaomi Redmi 3, and have had it for a while now. It is 'old' (oh dear, never mind) but not having to EVER worry about recharging means that it is my primary phone. Goes three days of normal use without turning a hair, or needing a charge. Interesting that four of the top 13 max-endurance phones are Xiaomi. From other of their stuff purchased, they are 20-30 better than AAPL for aesthetics. My opinion, FWIW. But-Hey Lenovo P2 is 5.1 A/H! I feel the need. Strike me! I could start a motor-bike with batteries of this size. I've no idea what thickness they are, but I'll bet they are just a teensy bit thicker than the commoner's phones. Proves - don't listen to the mob. Now. Where in Oz can I buy a P2??

  • "hypothesis"

  • 15th march hahahahahhahahahahahha

  • Knmy no I didn't play Rule of survivor but if I playing those two games smoothly then it's mean that this game will also be ok with P2.

  • Yeah, gaming is smooth, been playing free fire and Mobile Legend too, phone never heat up, only had warm feeling after gaming for a long time. Lenovo P2 is the beast of all phones.

  • I m using this phone since last one year. one of the best ever phone of my life. every thing is best in this phone. battery is best of the worlds phones. sound camera speed every thing is best. i am waiting Lenovo P3 ..hope it will come soon and i will buy that

  • Can you try rules of survival if its working smooth on your lenovo p2

  • no finger

  • I just cleared the data of Gmail app and play store for some reason, and out of nowhere, the security check up is no more there after boot up.... It had previously started asking when I did some security changes and out of nowhere, security check up after boot now removed without any reset... One thing for sure, there some weirdness or abnormalities in this phone.... Also that audio Jack issue..

  • I m playing on 4g network.and their is no problem with mobile.

  • I m playing online game 4 to 6 hour in a day.like mc5 and brother in arm 3.its working smoothly no heating no laghing.running very good and fast.its the best mobile for games and as for battery life.

  • Play thru wi-fi then....

  • I think i get it already when i play offline games with high graphic settings it doesn't have fps drop like Asphalt , MC5 , Tekken etc but when i play online games it happens. So i think my internet is also a problem. Do you guys play any online games?

  • Try to lower the graphics settings of that Survivor Royale...

  • Not worth if you get it above USD200...

  • I did it and and it still didnt fix the problem..anyway the overheating is gone now but well i guess ill have to accept it

  • Those are security patch updates after 1st upgraded to Nougat. The final update for our ROW ROM as of today is S251...

  • hey guys. just wanna ask. is it worth it to buy this phone this year? because i feel like this phone is kinda all rounder with the specs: decent cpu and rams physically not too tall or bulky like this year phone(s) big battery so many custom roms support for this device so how guys? thank you. opinions from veteran P2 users are much appreciated.

  • Ok i will try to factory reset later. But I have one question why do i have so much updates today? First was the nougat update 1.9gb Then another one came up 128 mb and now i have again 95mb what updates are these?

  • Make full backup and HARD reset...

  • my p2s42 is crisp no lag no issue fps is accurate screen is class ui experience is awesome and still running on marshmellow if you dont get any issue regarding android version why to upgrade phone is not made for costomisation it os pure android and as being lenovo flagship don't try to mess with it's costom rom

  • Great news. I'm so excited for the S5 I really hope the display is super AMOLED. Thank you azhar for sharing

  • Hello, I wouldlike to know where I can buy this smartphone at real price (not 300-400€) and with international shipping (I live in France) Thank you

  • I have updated my lenovo p2 to nougat and it feels like things have gotten worse..It didn't fix the fps drop or whatever it is called and my phone is overheating now. I have only played one game(survivor royale) and my phone overheated..now I have 2 problems overheating and the fps drop.. how can I fix this problem?

  • Sources ?

  • Spoiler alert: Please standby for the "final" OTA update which should be rolled out within 7 days. The "hypothesis" ROM is : S266_180303_ROW = 7th OTA to be released on 15th March 2018 (Android Security Patch & bug fixes update). Once LeMoto S5 is launched, "no more" LeMoto P2 OTA...

  • Yes i am using Lenovo P2 4gb ram and all games are very smooth it can run high graphic games, Its very good but I still experience the fps drop or screen stopping for a sec(dont know what to mention it). I will try to upgrade it to Nougat later ill tell if it gets fixed or not.

  • Is it the 3gb version or 4gb? I have a 4gb version and it runs all the high end games without stutter, without draining battery and without heating a bit and trust me I play lot of games. This is the best phone I ever had. Only if the rear camera was a little better 😔. The AMOLED screen is a beauty so is the built quality and the elegant gray color. Speakers are so loud and crisp that watching videos is an enjoyable experience. I am on Android version 7.0 and it has no major issues that may affect my day to day use. I recommend an update if you are on version below as this phone is fully capable of running all the latest. Only if Lenovo be considerate enough and release 8.0 for this. I am in love with all the attention to little details such as a screen protector included in the box that fits without leaving edges, front mounted super responsive fingerprint sensor that also allows gesture and trust me once again the power saving switch is a really handy feature you will understand it with time.

  • Please is Lenovo Vibe P2 receiving any further updates like Android 7.1 or even Android 8.0 Oreo with security patches???.... Secondly have you encountered any problems or issues after unlocking your P2's boatloader and after rooting it???...I want to root my phone but am very afraid it might start giving me issues after i root it... Please you guys should answer me

  • I bought my Lenovo Vibe P2 since November 2017 and it has been working very fine, No problems at all...I even upgraded to Android 7 Nougat and didn't encounter any issues at all.. But i notice that whenever am using wifi to download a lot of things from different websites the phones hangs a whole lot and atimes even completely freezes and i will be force restart it by pressing and holding the power button for 10 seconds... The Super Amoled screen is gorgeous but the 32GB internal memory is a Lil bit small for me because i installed a lot of apps and hd big size games and there seems to be no way of moving apps and games to the Micro sd, the internal memory should have been 64GB... The processor is very good too and play even heavy graphics graphics games very well... The sound is loud, clean and clear, For premium audio quality just download, install and tweak a music player app called X player 3d, this app is the best audio player that can be found anywhere, no other app comes close to it ,but u have to tweak and tune the settings to get the best audio quality... I installed a lot of very useful and powerful apps and very interesting HD games ,all these makes my phone very enjoyable... My phone is like my best friend and companion because i use it for everything, i no longer have need for a laptop computer. The battery life is very ok, i usually get about 8 hours onscreen time with my mobile data on, i get about 9 hours if am using wifi, then i get about 12 hours on screen time if my wifi, Bluetooth and mobile data is off...

  • Hello guys. I just bought my Lenovo P2 yesterday and there are no big issues, Anywayy while playing games I am having FPS Drops(the screen will like stop for 1-2 second)No big deal but if its solvable how can I fix this? I havent updated my Lenovo P2 to nougat yet because I see alot of people complaining that there are lot of issues.. Should I upgrade it or no??

  • I would like to add something though - The headphones issue happened on my P2 only for initial 2-3 days, it's been fine ever since, about 7 months have passed. If someone has a perfectly fine working unit and then some time after an issue crops up, it might make sense as issue might come up after rough use etc BUT in my case it was opposite and something that has never been seen anywhere i think. Headphones refused to work for initial 2-3 days but after that they have been working without any issue. It is absolutely weird.

  • @azhar75

  • Exactly what happens with me... I stated it clearly that it happens quite often but not ALWAYS... Occasion problem only... But don't no why that weirdness comes that way.... Also, a difference of sound between video and music....

  • I have something to add to headphones issue as well. I purchased Lenovo P2 for my mom and used it for about 1 week(i test out new phone for about a week myself before handing over to parents). When i plugged in ear headphones, all i was hearing was some strange sounds, i wasn't getting any music. I tried all possible combinations, loosely connected jack, fully inserted jack but nothing helped. Then i thought to try out the ones which came with phone itself. Even they didn't work. I assumed i got a faulty unit. Till then i had made up the mind to get the unit exchanged. But next day suddenly when i was trying to make headphones work for the last time, they out of nowhere started working absolutely great. I tried out with various in ear and over ear headphones and everything worked super fine. Till date 3.5 mm jack is working absolutely fine with no issues whatsoever. But i am still not sure of why it didn't work for 2-3 days in starting and suddenly started working. There is sure something weird with about it.

  • Over the time, the liquid (cooking oil, vesaline, olive oil, etc) will dry and the bubble may re-appear... It won't affect the screen sensitivity in general because the bubble usually appear along the bezel if we apply the screen guard / tempered glass properly, unless the tempered glass is way too small from the actual screen panel... Having said that, most manufacturers still keeping the bezels in order to ensure screen sensitivity is not affected along the sides of the touch input / digitizer zone... we cannot get 100% bezels - less screen as of now... a vast R&D on digitizer and panel framing is needed to get 100% bezels - less screen...

  • It's not the cost that matters but more on freedom to innovate and gain access to our activities/privacy... Having Android One as the platform restricted manufacturers to be innovative / creative because they are not able to introduce new features and functions to that device. Take example, the Moto Actions/Gestures like double chop to launch flashlight, wave on screen to wake, free-twist to quick launch camera, etc. The same goes to Xiaomi MIUI, Huawei EMUI, ZTE MiFavour, Asus ZenUI, Meizu Flyme, OnePlus Oxygen OS, etc. A case study : how we take screenshot in Android One? Need to use physical button, right? Over the time, these button (or power button only in Android "P"opcorn") will malfunction soon... what about scroll / long screenshot in Android One? Have to install 3rd party apps to get this done... Tips : we can use Google voice command to take screenshot. But in public area, are we going to say "Hey Google" all the time...? Still need to rely on physical button(s) to take screenshot... Of course almost all of the extra features / functions can be obtained by installing 3rd part apps but as we are aware most of these 3rd party apps contains in-app purchase, advertisements, or even malware / clone ... furthermore, certain 3rd party apps may disturb the stability of the OS like energy drain, force-closed, sudden reboot, etc... Another valid reason is to allow manufacturer to gain info to sell to "data collectors" ... believe me that all 3rd party skins like MIUI, EMUI, ZenUI, Flyme, MiFavour, Oxygen OS, etc does have tracking tools running in the background to sniff our daily activities (privacy) way more than stock Android One does... That's why manufacturers prefer to have their in-house skins and avoid stock Android in order to differentiate amongst themselves and also to sniff our daily activities...

  • Got a hack today for removing air bubbles by using oil but since the oil seeps in, doesn't that affect the display of the screen?? @azhar75 You too did this hack and posted a picture on the official forum...

  • Why manufacturers don't go for Android One... Does that cost them much?? @azhar75

  • Today while watching a movie, the audio was initially very clear but after some time, without causing any disturbance to the pin/jack, I encountered the same problem.... Only vocals and no voice... Seriously irritating... @azhar75

  • Well this is a very serious problem which is happening mainly while listening to music... At the very same time, I can hear the audio of playing video very clearly while playing music, it's just the vocals that I am able to hear, not the voice..@azhar75

  • You do not have a problem, your unit is fine.. Let me explain what's happening: 1) Earphones without mic have - 2 rings Left, Right and Ground No problem, these will work with your phone independent of your phone's internal jack config.. just the L and R audio channel may get reversed,.. but that wont affect the audio quality. 2) Earphones with Mic - 3 rings Here is where the problem starts.. different earphone use different stands thanks to Nokia, Apple and samsung. You will see either of the following: L,R,M,G Left, Right, Mic, Ground L,R,G,M Left, Right, Ground, Mic or some other weird config.. ................................ Your phone may not support all the configs, if you have an expensive earphone.. you can get a 3.5mm jack extender at your local shop which will hopefully have a different config at its tip which will probably be compatible with your phone.. This is also why some earphones work well with your phone while others dont... dont worry... many brands have this issue :) its a standardisation problem..

  • So we can expect Lenovo P3 now....coz Lenovo S5 new phone is launching on March 20 in China...All speculation of stopping Lenovo brand is put to rest..

  • Lenovo S5 (6000mAh) launching this month....P2 gets beaten again..

  • Watch YouTube...

  • Any suggestions on how to clean up the port??

  • Weather, humidity, harsh environment and how we take care of our devices will effect the durability of opened port like 3.5mm jack, micro USB charging port, speaker / mic holes, etc. All in all, the 3.5mm jack is the one easily broken because of non-standard jack out there. Some are slightly fatter in diameter, some are slightly longer, and some have bad painting on the metal stud...the bad painting / ionization will left residue inside the internal port in long run... Next is micro USB port which is also prone to damage if the owner harshly stab the charging cable into the port...

  • One thing I don't understand is why you this is an occasional problem?

  • If the warranty is valid, go for it... But if I were you, I'd just get Bluetooth ear/headphone... No point sending to service centre when we have to wait for more than 2 weeks for the fix, unless there are other issues which can be fixed all at one go...

  • Is it rectifiable at service center??

  • Lemon unit = out of, say, 10,000 production units, only 1% or so could be damaged but still handed to consumers... Quality control cannot check all 10,000 units to test everything....they need to ship ASAP to meet demands and overtake competitions ....

  • Follow what Apple did... remove 3.5mm jack and get the Airpods... or the like...

  • For prevent from damaging 3.5mm port, I always lubricate headphone jack twice a month with a pinch of coconut oil. :) My original lenovo P2's headphone gives me good quality sound. Even my Creative 2.1 sound system working fine. 😂

  • What is the lemon unit?

  • Solution??

  • My short answer is the P2's 3.5mm headphone jack hardware issue. You and the rest are having a lemon unit unfortunately (if this happen since day 1). Otherwise, the headphone jack could be damaged due to either: 1) moisture, or 2) drop, or 3) dust & gunk, or 4) loose internal cable / soldering. My unit works well for both 2-ring or 3-ring jack either the stock earphone or 3rd party earphone(s) and headphone(s).

  • BTW I haven't tried/compared between the two ringed and three ringed pin earphones/headphones as mentioned in the post...

  • @azhar75 Please head to this link:

  • @azhar75: Wanted to discuss about this from too long but good that I will not have to type much as there's a new thread created by someone on the official forum that exactly explains about my problem too... The only change is that I use Earphones instead of headphones as mentioned in the post....You can head to the official forum or else I am just copying the thread posted by the user (Not the replies given by LeMoto agent) here...I would advise you to visit the forum once... This is what that was posted: Topic: Only Two ring type Headphones working in P2 ‎02-24-2018 02:27 AM Few days ago my headphones stopped working properly with my P2 and only muffled sounds are being produced by them, the headphones are working fine in PC and other phone. Even the company provided headphones are not working. If I twist them around by pulling up the headphone jack only then the sound comes clear, otherwise only muffled music is produced and no vocals. Then one day I tried my other headphones of Sennheiser HD 203 and CX 180 street which were suprisingly working fine. Another thing I noticed that both the sennheisers have two rings in their tip and one which are not working have three rings. That means the headphones with mic will not work in my phone (if I'm right). Kindly help in this case. Thanks Firstly the headphone jack is indeed 3.5mm which I'm using. Secondly the headphones were working fine with the phone, but suddenly one day this thing happened and now they are not working with the phone. I tried some other headphones also (with three ring type) but they didn't worked as well. The same problem muffled music continues. Normal speakers are also working fine. I think it has got to do with the rings of the jack that I mentioned before. *********************** I use a normal earphone (not the one given in box).... I m facing this problem from last few months (Not initially when bought last year)... But one thing that I noticed right from the beginning is that the headphone symbol on the top status bar always appeared to be distorted when fixed perfectly and which now also results into muffled music and almost no vocals... Otherwise, if inserted lightly, it works fine but often gets off due to veey loose connection... I m confused whether its an audio jack problem, an earphone problem or a buggy update installed.....On the other hand, the audio jack distortion problem was reported by many few months after launch which was reportedly solved OR was a problem only in few units (Not initially in my case).... Would now wait for some problem solving replies...Not willing to visit the service centre.... All replies here as well as on the forum are welcomed...!!!

  • Do you guys think this long life battery phone is suitable to play HD App Games!?

  • Must be a serious bug I have always 7gb of junk files under settings and storage run the cleaner

  • Check your storage, and try to delete as much as you can. Hopefully that might solve it.

  • When accessing the contact on mu P2, it's taking time before it is display. Anybody is having this problem..

  • Lol... We don't want portable inverters...

  • Company like Luminous, Exide should make smartphone with massive 10200mAh battery and Android One.

  • Apparently it's 300 grams which is about double of our P2...

  • Glad to see more new players in smartphone market... especially "Energizer" brand which is world wide well known for its energy supply "history" ... but anything using "current" MTK SoC is not under my radar... awaiting for review of MTK 10nm SoC for mid-ranger before switching from current P2...

  • I am scared thinking how heavy it will be!!!

  • @azhar75 There you go with the world's biggest battery life (16000mAh) phone: To be unveiled at the MWC...

  • So sad to see many friends having trouble to get the screen repaired. Just an advice to those owners who is having an intention to keep P2 as long term usage, ensure to apply proper shock - proof protection on the screen as well as the body of P2. It is not worth the investment to get the screen replaced when the cost is around 70% of a brand new P2....

  • My P2's screen has been shattered completely however it was working well and later little water splashed on it, since then it's not powering on. When try to power it on the device vibrates on certain interval and if I plug charger, the red notification come and goes like vehicle indicator... Any DIY solution or reliable Service centre in Bangalore ? Note: Put in the rice bag has already been tried, any other solutions please.

  • Yeah right try to drive around with a insecure car and than tell the officer some Google stories it might work

  • Lenovo could release seceurity patch update quaterly

  • P2's OTAs chronicles: S033_160919_ROW = Released from factory. S048_161111_ROW = 1st OTA released on 9th December 2016. S062_170117_ROW = 2nd OTA released on 24th January 2017. S232_170320_ROW = 3rd OTA released on 28th March 2017 (Major Nougat Upgrade). But was withdrawn on 1st April 2017. S233_170404_ROW = 4th OTA released on 11th April 2017 (Supersede previous 3rd OTA). S244_170725_ROW = 5th OTA released on 10th August 2017 (125MB incremental update). S251_171107_ROW = 6th OTA released on 15th Nov 2017 (95MB incremental update). Hypothesis: S266_180303_ROW = 7th and "final" OTA to be released on 15th March 2018 (Android Security Patch & bug fixes update).

  • Your prediction over p2's next update

  • K-series is the last product from LeMoto... Source : self-intuition...

  • Nope... Just pay attention to what Motorola Mobility is going to offer instead... Moto G6 series is the closest to P3 with lower energy capacity and non-super AMOLED screen... Also, take a peek on Asus offering too... As of now, Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro is the best choice to replace P2 (if one is desperately needs to have better camera and SoC performance...) As for me, my P2 will rock on for the next 730 days...

  • One of the biggest disadvantage of Lenovo P2 is, You can't buy a new phone without having a massive 5100 mAh battery. Current generation smartphone has average 3500mah battery which can't give you more than 7 hours usage time. Lenovo P2 is really an exceptional. Lenovo now focussing only on moto brand. (Upcoming lenovo moto G6+ SD630, 3250mah)

  • When is that going to happen, any date? I hate that Lenovo focusing on K series more than P series. Yes, K series sales are crazy, but haven't they sold enough to continue for the P series. Come on Lenovo, make this happen, just do it

  • @azhar75 Can we expect something at the MWC??

  • This is not forsee dude, different case with xiaomi, huawei, zte etc, where collecting data on perpose. I use lenovo for 3years with no hardware problem

  • I hate when phone vibrates. I always turned it off and saves battery also.

  • Google keyword "TEENA Lenovo P3"... if there's no result meaning P-series is dead...!

  • the same thing goes for me, even when typing with keyboard vibration goes off some times.

  • vibration intensity of my Lenovo p2 is very low. i cant feel it if it is my pocket. is it same with all or just my phone? please reply

  • Is there any news about P3..?

  • There is very few smartphone that supports VoLTE on both SIM cards simultaneously. You can run VoLTE on either SIM 1 and SIM 2, but only on one slot at a time. Qualcomm's 630, 636, 660, 845 supports Dual Sim VoLTE.

  • That I know. We can only enable LTE/ VoLTE on either 1st sim or 2nd sim. I think all snapdragon processors are like this. But Honor View 10 supports VoLTE on both sims.

  • 1) VoLTE is automatically activated in SIM1 since the first ROM. 2) VoLTE on SIM2 is somewhat need to be activated manually. Goto Settings > SIM Management > Mobile data = SIM2. Next, Settings > More > Cellular networks > SIM2 tab > deactivate "VoLTE" > wait for 10 seconds > reactivate "VoLTE". Bear in mind that we can only activate VoLTE on either SIM and NOT BOTH SIMs simultaneously...

  • @Azhar - Could you please let us know how to enable volte on both sim. I am not able to see lte or volte on second sim and yes I am on the same room which you mentioned. Thanks

  • Any phone will have battery drain issue if we install malicious illegal apps...

  • If you really want 5100+ mAh battery, 14nm Snapdragon 625 chipset and 5.5 inch FHD super AMOLED display, Android 7.0 then this the only option available for you. Very few stocks left. Only 4GB Gold variant available in India. It gives about 13 hours screen on time. No battery drain problem. Use background app management feature to save battery and ram memory.

  • bro..I was want to buy lenovo p2...but I heard many people has got battery draininv issue..... really?

  • I have been using this rom. But I can't enable 4g/LTE on both sim.

  • The latest ROM (i.e. S251_171107) upgraded both SIM slots to support LTE as well as VoLTE.

  • Thanks azhar75. This is first time I am using 2nd sim instead of SD card. I noticed unifi sim only connects to 3g while sim 1(digi) connects to lte 4g. If I use unifi as sim 1 then it connects to lte 4g. Is it normal or can we make both be able to connect to lte 4g?

  • P2 supports all Malaysia telcos network including YES 4G LTE.... As for unifi@mobile, P2 supports Band 5, 38 and 40...

  • Does P2 supports band 5 used by unifi mobile (malaysia)? Thanks.

  • No issue ...at all... U could switch to 7 as its fast n battery last long 2 days as per usage it gives me 13 hrs of screen on time 4 x times thn any iphone ...what else we want more thn these...

  • Take pictures in RAW for better quality. Download Snap Camera or Bacon Camera or FreeDCam. These programs take pictures in raw. Samples Working with RAW from Lenovo P2. 1. ACDSee RAW postprocessing 2. RawTherapee RAW postprocessing 3. Multi-sampling RAW noise reduction. 4. Super resolution

  • me too facing similar issue when using dual sim. And data configured sim only not receiving calls (not reachable/switch off message for callers). With single sim this problem is reduced.

  • For better camera performance download Google Camera. Which is not available in play store.

  • I have some problem in loud speaker some noise coming arzzzzzz What can I do pls help me

  • Lenovo’s proves once again they can’t be trusted to keep you secure

  • After 3 weeks of use my P2 screen flickers every 5 seconds. I even disabled HW overlay but still flickers. Anyone experienced it and know how to fix this problem?

  • Should i update it to android 7.0 ? is there any issue or performance and battery drain in this update ? im still on 6.0. what is your advice? i just bought it.

  • Compare this device with moto E4 plus

  • More "unfair" comparison...

  • i went through the gsmarena photo comparision tool and i found that Lenovo p2's camera is better than highly rated xiomi mi A1 and way better than Razer phone.

  • FYI...

  • is lenovo p2 support s 1tb external hard drive

  • i think your phone is ok still flash tbe phone

  • Hai, I am using this lenova p2 arround 5 months . But my problem is ,when some calls me It said network is not reachable for my mobile ,this happened in my daily usage . Everybody told me u r mobile network always not reachable I am using Airtel Network . So can anyone help to me solve this network issue. Thanks.

  • There is no option to disable it. But don't worry it can't be auto update. Just remove the notification for update it.

  • How to disable update system in this phone ?

  • Actually this wasn't earlier.... I had to remove the security (For some reason) and when I again applied the same security, it again started asking me for security after boot up, the same thing that used to happen when I got this phone(before doing factory data reset)...

  • Camera in its price category - the best. Learn to take photos. Here are some examples in full size. Don't see any point in updates, everything is working. Why do you need Oreo? For the sake of numbers?

  • Warranty in stand-by mode...

  • We can't because we have turn it on during the first initial setup. The only way to turn it off is to hard reset the device and re-do all initial setup all over again... Perhaps we can try "dig deep" in our Google account settings via desktop browser to see if the mobile security boot up can be disabled (which I doubt is available)...

  • @azhar75 How to disable the security check after switching on the device...??

  • My fingerprint sensor is not working properly...

  • But Lenovo owns Motorola so in essence Lenovo should be faster with updates.

  • yup

  • Lenovo P2 is just like Rohit Sharma among V.KohLi and AB Devilliers. Can be equally good.

  • Are you sure?

  • Moto

  • WE all know Lenovo and Moto phones may not get Oreo soon or even ever because of reasons we may not know. But who will be slightly faster in terms of security updates?

  • The Moto and Lenovo phones have high praises and good reviews "in most cases" here in the UK e.g. battery life for the P2 and the G5 phones being the best "all-rounder" phone. I despise Huawei and Honor phones due to so many things. One of them having a non-stock Android OS, a weak sunlight legibility (screen algorythm/ poor delta colours?), metal phones that will almost definitely stop working with a minor splash of water or rain, ancient micro-USB ports (for Honor phones), slow Cat4 LTE, etc. the list goes on.

  • P2 is not getting oreo G5 plus wil get oreo Multitasking is good in p2 Also ram manegment is good in p2 But their is advice dont buy any one of these

  • Bro if you are looking fot after service dont buy moto or lenovo. I have lenovo p2 and by mistake display got damaged and glass shattered completely. When i went to service centre they asked me 9 k to repair it. And in local market it ia not available if available they are asking for 6-7 k for repair. Only battery life and screen quality is good of lenovo p2. Camera is worst in its price point. Speaker sound quality is loud though but very unnatural . And sound is metallic their is kkrr krr krkr sound coming when you take it near your ears you will find it. And for g5 plus battery life is worst my friend has owns it and he always compalins about battery life. And camera is ok only. Go for honor 9i its best at what it costs.

  • Between the Lenovo P2 and Moto G5 Plus which one has a newer Android version (Nougat 7.1.1 or Oreo 8.0)? Louder speaker in general? Better camera (speedy to load up, natural looking photo and great low-light photos)? Better multitasking/app loading and RAM managament?

  • So only 7.1.1? And no 8.0? Well that's a bummer. This might be a reason not to get this phone anymore.

  • Lenovo P2 getting 7.1.1 update Which is confirmed by LeMoto team. I have found this information on Lenovo Forum.

  • Well maybe but when a phone has big bezels I prefer the bezels to be light colored. It looks better imo. And I also never resell my phones lol. I use them for 2-3 years and then give them to my parents who don't use their phone for anything more than calling and light messaging and maybe some Uber lol

  • Lenovo is a joke and totally useless try to get your money back this thing won't get any security updates for Spectre and Meltdown

  • Grey color has higher resale value...

  • I have a question. The Gold color seems to have 2 different bezels. One with thick fake black bezels (the one used in the GSMArena review) and one with a very thin black bezel that I've seen in some YouTube videos. How can I make sure the one I'm getting is the one with the thin black bezels? Because the thick one is just ugly and I can't take it and I'd prefer the Gray version over that! The one available here is Lenovo P2C72 64GB/4GB one.

  • beast incarnate

  • Next year I want a blackberry phone with Snapdragon 660, 7 inch 18.9 display, 5500 mah battery, Android 8. Price within 300$.

  • The best replacement for Lenovo P2 is Oukitel K6 (with 6.300 mAh battery) or Blackview P6000 (with 6.150 mAh battery). They both have 6GB RAM / 64 GB ROM and other goodies.

  • Absolutely right.

  • it is superman among smartphones

  • Of course. Nougat 7.0 November 2017.

  • Please let me know that p2 is upgradeable to Nougat or not ?

  • Working with RAW from Lenovo P2. 1. ACDSee RAW postprocessing 2. RawTherapee RAW postprocessing 3. Multi-sampling RAW noise reduction. 4. Super resolution Examples of the links in the video description.

  • One of the best all round phones in the mid range segment...been using it for 6 months now and not a single issue faced..Fingerprint scanner is sometimes dodgy but nothing to get negative review for it.

  • In real life it isn't, sd660 it's not better only gives you more spare capacity in normal use current P2 have 1-5% cpu utilisation and peaks 65%, more importante its the software you use, still confused? Google how CPU works

  • SD660 is better than SD625 .... It has got more powerful and efficient (8 x Kyro 260) cpu..... X12 LTE modem.. Adreno™ 512 GPU which is better than Adreno™ 506 GPU on SD625 ..... Quick charge 4 support ..... SD 660 is definitely better than SD 625

  • Your imaginary p3 still not better than current p2,. Why do you think SD 660 is better than 625?

  • Thank You. I updated it. It's good.

  • That phone would be too long for me, LOL.

  • Thank you all. so it seems from your comments that it is a real beast and worth buying, also I have watched some reviews and it seems really to be a very good handset to use.

  • Not so sure that 7 inch phone is practical. For me 5.5'' seems to be sweet spot. Also Xiaomi is notorious for lack of band 20 support :(

  • Lenovo P3 is not coming. Because they are focusing on Motorola brand only. So If you want to buy a better smartphone than P2 then you should wait for Xiaomi MI Max 3. It's coming with 7 inch 18:9 FHD+ IPS display, 5500mah battery and Snapdragon 660 chipset. Expected launching date March 2018.

  • I'm using P2 for about 1 year. Mostly there is no lag. It only happens with some apps, and that is mainly because of the app itself, not the phone. Battery is still amazing. I am really concerned what smartphone would replace the P2. This is a true battery beast. I do have some battery drain cause of Google Services, but I'm not sure what to turn off. So, hardware wise, still excellent. You just need to tweak the settings, and I'm too lazy to care about it. P2 camera is somewhat decent. I might get another smartphone just because of the camera. For someone who really care about battery life, and value for money. P2 is the way to go. Unless Xiaomi release Redmi Note 5.

  • Apple being sued becoz throttling CPU to preserve energy consumption. Soon, all manufacturers will follow... P2's battery can last for more than 3 years... No need for LeMoto to throttle it... and if you really not a heavy gamers, P2 can perform smoothly even after 3 years becoz casual apps and games do not project heavy CPU loading...

  • I have been using this for the last 10 months. The battery is still good enough for 3 mobile phones. Screen and display are fantastic. Performance is simply superb.

  • This is the most amazing phone ever. It will be a hard task for even the much trumpeted brand profiteers to beat this one for years. Camera is perfectly fine and can be an issue for only National Geographic quality picture seekers

  • Using my P2 for exactly 1 year now. For those who interested - I did keep count of number of battery charges per year. And that number is 65 ! I charged my phone 65 times per year. On average phone lasts me 5 days between charges (I do switch phone off during nights, also I do switch phone off during charging).

  • so you think it is worth buying?

  • Been using it for 13 months without any issues. Can still give me more than 10 hours Screen on Time. This device can last for 3 years minimum, provided we take good care of the hardware and software too...

  • P2 has preinstalled compass app....how can we use it..?

  • Can anyone who has been using it for like 5,6,7 months tell us how is it now? is it lagging? is the battery started draining fast? Screen Problems? How is it after Nougat update? and THANKS in advance.

  • Just download a compass app from playstore.

  • How to use compass in p2...?

  • If you update you will fix sound out of sync. But, speaker volume will be reduced, but it will be more than good.

  • Recently bought this phone. Should I update the phone with the new software update I received or simply stay on the present one. Kindly help. Thank you.

  • Lmao there is a lot of phones with deca core proccessor wtf you talking about? For Example Lenovo K8 note but you are blind to see or lazy to get some research.

  • You cannot get a deca-core CPU lmao. Next will be 16-core CPU (or atleast 12-core)

  • Using from April 2017, great phone with excellent battery, camera great, for this budget on tog the top phone which can compare to edge or Sony easily..

  • Best phone from lenovo, Bt wen are u bringing the remake of this phone P3 and please don't ruin this phones reputation

  • Same with me... how to solve it?

  • Any news for a P2 successor? Samsung released A8 series. The price is 600 euro LMAO Let's see what Xiaomi got for the Redmi Note 5

  • On my P2 sometimes (not always) after disconnecting charger green notification led stays ON. Dunno why. When you press side key, it goes away.

  • When the charge is complete, led notification turns green. After turn off the charger, no notification light should be there.

  • Are you sure you can use only 3G bands? Maybe you just need to change your SIM card? Some older SIM cards dont support 4G LTE speeds. At least thats what I did with my mobile operator.

  • You can try one below: 1) Simply restart P2; Or 2) Hard reset P2; Or 3) While P2 is on, charge it as usual. Press the Power button until P2 reboot by itself.

  • Please help me When I charge my Lenovo p2 I switch it off,red notification light stays on ,but when charging is complete as usual I switch off but red notification light stays and due to that over the period of time (4-5hours) it consumes 1-2percent battery This light goes off when I switch it on. WHAT IS THE REASON BEHIND IT??

  • Using on 4g in Ireland on Vodafone. Band 3 is what Vodafone seem to use in most areas for 4g LTE. Perhaps your network is on using Band 20

  • I ordered the EU version from italy, came just over a week later to Ireland.. can only use 3gbands but that just fine. The phone is a beast.. love it to bits..runs games smoth ...nice noisey speakers, fast interface ..all round good except for the camera... The camera is shit.

  • Maybe it's a network problem. If you are not using 4G then change it to 3G.

  • Simple make consumers organizations knowing android manufactures are traveling on a very thin line the new consumer law GDPR in Europe are being adapted around the globe, in law the is a say that "stupidity should be punished" I love to hear from lenovos or Googles lawyer how this poorly stupid companies are thinking by putting millions of users at risk every day

  • I am having a big problem with my Lenovo p2. While using its sim signals got blank and when I restarted it then it working. And it's happening twice and thrice a day. Kindly can any one guide me to resolve this issue

  • Is there any option to set folders for various apps in the app drawer??

  • Ill fix you. Customers :-) P2 was excellent phone one of the best every with best battery. Image if they release a P3 with Snapdragon 835 adreno 540 deca core processor from Qualcomm 8 GB ram and let say 7000 mAh battery with 5,8 inch screen.

  • Maybe i should make my own phone :-)

  • So in y'all opinion...is this smartphone good in gaming I mean can it plays most of the game on the play store without any issues?? Thx for noticing :)

  • I bought a P2 10 months ago. It fell a few times and the only thing you notice is tiny dents in the aluminum matching the texture of the floor where it fell. I don't use any cover for the body neither any screen protector. The screen still looks like new.

  • Does it support Volte ?????

  • How to petition Lenovo? I want 7.1 update for my P2 :(

  • You all have to petition Lenovo for it. Don't stay quiet. Make some considerable noise.

  • All over the world except UK and Turkey...

  • Good question. Why a succesful product like Lenovo P2 doesn't have a successor...?! Lenovo please tell your customer !!!

  • Is this phone have updated to nougat ?

  • Lenovo P3 wasnt released this year i wonder why :-(

  • did the screen cracked easily??

  • Any hard cases with belt clip available for this model?

  • This is annoying have to clean 3gb every week

  • Just got a new OTA for Android 7 here in Europe. LENOVO P2a42 security patch november 1, 2017 Everything working fine.

  • Settings > Storage > Trash cleaner

  • i have an issue that when i restart my phone it takes about 3 min to unlish my menu apps is there any solution for this problem ?

  • Yes but only for P2a42 model (ie 32GB):

  • Does this phone for definite support band 20? Not listed on any other website.

  • Nice question suggest you to go nearest shop and try out a Bluetooth joystick all kind of keyboards works and don't forget to report your findings here. Good luck.

  • Broken screen is your fault so doesnt cover by warranty, it only cover defective product from factory. Thats generic unless you bought insurance. I am sure you can find 2nd class display OL

  • hi all. wanna ask something. can't this phone use joysticks for games? example for pes2018?

  • First you don't need any unlock code to do it. As i already unlocked my bootloader and i never needed any code to unlock it. All you need is adb & fastboot setup to do unlocking.

  • okay, let me see.. my screen has been broken so I'm not sure I can get that serviced freely though my device is under warranty because they might ask me to change the screen as they would need to remove the screen and check MBd. Again, to change the screen they will quote around INR.7000/- which will be insane to pay for the device bought originally for INR.13000. BTW, thank you for notifying the solution.

  • after 14 days Lenovo not release that code until i click on oem unlock button... right ???

  • hmmm ok... but in Legal Agreement its written that once you get unlock code your device is unlocked after 14 days lenove release that code :(

  • I activate it through developer option oem unlock option ... but that time I didn't know that I Can't relock it.

  • Don't worry about it. Your phone still locked and secured. Just turn off Enable oem unlocking from Developer options.

  • Just ignore it. So long as we don't go back to the unlock bootloader menu, it ain't activate...

  • Let me know if any one using non stock charger to charge P2.. I'm using iphone charger so that it doesn't heat up.

  • Don't Know but how did you activate it?

  • I got champagne gold and think is more a looker than grey one. If that matter to you.

  • I have nougat (November 2017 patch) Works fine for me.

  • Anyone Know how to stop that 14 days period for bootloader unlock for save warranty....??? Please help me just 7 days remaining, I mistakenly start that period but now really worry about my warranty loss...

  • Ok Bro... but most of people on internet forums saying that its default version Android M is better for Lenovo P2

  • which version of android is better for Lenovo P2 and lesser bugs in it. S048 16-11-2016 S062 17-01-2017 S232 04-04-2017 S233 25-07-2017 S251 07-11-2017

  • Ofcourse Nougat is better

  • Hi bro I gave my phone to service center. They told me that it's a motherboard problem. I have warranty . So they done it for free of cost. With 1week I got my mobile. Now everything works fine. Hope u will give ur mobile to service center

  • Lenovo's care telling me 9350 price of display. what I do . I think buy a new phone than display

  • 7000+ . half of the mobile price.

  • please tell me what is the price of display ?

  • anybody please tell me, is nougat works fine in p2? I read many bug reviews here after nougat update. Plz help me

  • That do you think if everybody us happy with the latest bug fixes, plz grow up

  • Please tell me users, which is better in between Marshmallow & Nougat for Lenovo P2.

  • it's Nougat 7.0...

  • What is Your mobile Android version?

  • Nice, but there is a solution: Buy moto z force, after 3years put battery mod. My moto x battery still good for 3years used.

  • I'm facing the same issue as reported by Teja, and the screen is blank, no light on the screen. Just the red notification light keeps blinking if I connect the charger. PLEASE ANY ADVISE TO GET THE DEVICE TURN ON.

  • There will not be any Oreo update for P2 from Lenovo.

  • I'm also using MIUI 9 in my redmi note 4x. And there is an oreo update (unofficial) for the Lenovo P2.

  • MIUi9 in my Xiaomi still better. Dunno about my Nougat in P2 but it stutters and lags especially in camera mode. Any of you using custom roms for P2 which is clearly superior? I'm still within warranty period b4 I unlock the bootloader.

  • android :)

  • the best OS for lenovo p2??

  • Not that it really matters but FYI this last update made playstore certified again

  • Wow so there's no update coming out again

  • Next when?

  • Then I think I will wait for the next update

  • It's the security or the bug fixes that hold you back?

  • I'm just asking if there's any issue with the 7.0 I want to know if there is no issue then I update my phone

  • It's the first thing to do, why don't you know?

  • Hello guys I just got my lenovo p2 and I don't know if I should upgrade to 7.0 Is there any problem with 7.0

  • Yes, I knew that, just I hadn't elaborated more. :-) I agree with you, not only the battery size but also the hardware plays an important role. Further, excellent software optimization is pivotal as well, in which case some companies do a better job than the rest. I also follow HTC U11 comment section and generally its owners are satisfied with its battery life (6-8 hours sot seems to be the norm). And that's with 1440p screen. The Plus version should better that by some margin (8-10 hours), but I'm getting ahead of myself here. Hope GSM Arena will review that one soon. Back to P2, or Lenovo to be precise, I am curious whether they will eventually follow the trend of longer screen (18:9 aspect ratio), be it Lenovo or Motorola branded phones. Why not make a P3 with such screen in similarly sized body, just to catch up with where the industry is heading to. Xiaomi is doing it for their midrange Redmi Note 5.

  • Cause the closest jump to a well known flagship from P2 is the OnePlus 5T. Flagships have an internal memory that support higher reading/writing speeds. Yet, P2 doean't have such memory. OnePlus, are on the top list of best flagship batteries. Huawei Mate 10 with 4,000mAh has failed, and got the worst results compared to devices that has less than 3,500mAh. Huawei muat use bigger batteries to keep up with the game, if they could they would put smaller batteries, but their devices wouldn't last 3hrs SoT, and yet they brag about their 4,000mAh, it's just a commercial logo. LG V30 with 3,300mAh had won over S8 plus, Mate 10, OnePlus 5, and others. At the end, flagships must use smaller battery, so that in 2 years YOU WILL BE FORCED TO UPGRADE. Cause battery life will be reduced. Mid range phones, have big batteries, but their specs are lower, and in time, you will be forced to upgrade cause of apps support, slow device with time, and no updates. Also, it is easier on the pocket to upgrade to a mid range phone.

  • Sure, I agree. Everything must be in balance more or less. Thats why I choosed P2. I could not find any other new phone which fitted my requirements as best as P2. p.s. Mediak chipsek in my eyes = pure cr**, not worth considering.

  • Battery size isnt the only factor, hardware also very important, for example many chinese phone with huge battery along with mediatek performs poorly in battery endurance, due how powerhungry mediatek chips are. Same story with Huawei's chipset, even though they do have big battery in the long run arent much better than 3000 mAh phones. Also HTC U11+ has 1440p screen, thats gonna kill the battery fast.

  • Sad/stupid thing that there is 0 so called "flagship" phones out with adequate battery. At least 5000mAh is absolute minimum. Or they should come with user replaceable battery. Idiotically small batteries is practically only reason I dont even consider buing "flagship" phone.

  • Yeah, no proper comparison can be made between midrange and flagship. I understand some will want to upgrade to a flagship device down the road. In that case, let's compare flagships from different brands. I suggest, take a serious look at HTC U11 Plus and Huawei Mate 10, mainly because they have ample battery size.

  • I think this is the only thing I'm yet to try..

  • I don't know why people are comparing between Lenovo P2 and OnePlus 5T. OnePlus 5T is a premium smartphone which has smaller battery and price 33000 INR. And Lenovo P2 is a lower mid-range smartphone for Rs 13500 INR. In real life Snapdragon 835 is unnecessary for daily task like Facebook, YouTube, Asphalt 8, Nova, Bla bla bla. P2's SD625 can handle everything smoothly.

  • With OnePlus 5T you will have half P2 battery life. Better camera Smoother, and faster OS experience Updates will be way better than P2 lol With Dash Charge at home, and you can get Dash Charge for cigarettes lighter in the car. I say it's worth it. I might upgrade to Samsung S9 plus in the future, cause P2 camera is horrible. But I'm not sure if I can survive without the crazy 10~15 SoT. Let's hope for P3 release xD

  • yeah man .. the battery life on P2 is orgasmic its the hardest part to let go of the screen quality is also same as that on P2, though OP5T has a bigger screen MicroSD slot on P2 is hybrid anyway, so not much of a difference P2 is heavier than 5T though, which is bit of an inconvenience, and no future OS updates

  • For me, no, I wouldn't go that route. P2's strength is the 2 to 3 days battery life, I guesstimate OP5T would just provide 1 day battery life or 1,5 day at most. Not to mention losing the microSD slot as well.

  • If anyone want use Oreo UI, just install it from playstore. No add. Here is the link:

  • Put your phone on sunlight for half an hour and try again. Let the moisture to dry.

  • yes it is worthy

  • yes

  • does it make sense to upgrade to OnePlus 5T from P2 ? Opinions welcome

  • I made these steps but nothing new

  • Settings > Backup & reset > Network settings reset

  • No 4G network after last software update 95 MB? Any Advice?

  • yes you got my point, physical press home, tap and hold task switcher, tap back.

  • I hope you and lenovo continuing update the device, read links below Nokia malware report reveals new all-time high in mobile device infections and major IoT device security vulnerabilities

  • @moi: 1. In google play app page its says that Blue KEY app supports android 4.0 or newer. SO IT SHOULD WORK (as long device is unrooted). 2. Nobody here confirmed that app runs fine on 7.0 anyway. 3. I contacted bank, waiting for their answer (its holiday today.. will see tommorow). I tend to believe that its application problem, not OS problem.

  • You know the improvers 7 have over 6 and still rejecting, try complain to the bank not supporting unsecure android.

  • @Unique94: Are you saying that pressing HOME button in 7.0 will bring me to home screen but not in dual app screen?

  • 7.0 in p2 is better than 6.0 of p2. dont worry you can use home buttn gestures evn in 7.0

  • Maybe try put your phone in rice for 24hours.

  • GUYS NEED HELP, my P2 isn't booting up... • Your hypothesis is incorrect...

  • No, I dont want to be hacked, but I also do not want to "gain" new possible problems when using 7.x on P2 (like - speaker sound performance decreasing, loose ability to use home button press to get back to home screen). When you search P2 forums, there are some ppl which are unhappy about 7.x on P2, and there is no official way how to downgrade. Using 7.x does not guarantee to be safe anyway.

  • why do you use an old android with known securities holes, do you want to be hacked?

  • no at all.

  • Right...

  • Will it support VoLTE in India if purchased in Middle East (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait)? available version in middle east is P2a42. Any one tried this, Please let me know.

  • Will it support VoLTE in India if purchased in Middle East (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait)? Any one tried this, Please let me know.

  • Go to software update page. You will find network error occurred problem. That means Lenovo is gonna release a new update

  • why?

  • I am expecting a new update... Again

  • It's the problem of the app. Don't use it. Rating 3.2 only. Marshmallow and Nougat both are stable os. Usually apps don't crash on this device..

  • I need some help, guys. For those who still have android 6.0.1 on their P2, please go to and install that programm. Its a banking app, which recently got small version update and that update broke it. Effect is that after running it application force-closes right away. I need to know is that effect only on my P2 or in yours also. After checking does it force-closes or not you can just uninstall that application. Also please do that, if you have Android 7 on your P2 too. Need to know if application force-closes or not. I'm still on 6.0.1 but this annoying problem might force me to upgrade to 7.x if there is no problem with that banking app.

  • But what did happen to your P2..???

  • I've managed to "recuperate" it...

  • But you didn't tell what happened to your P2...??

  • no battery drain issue for me the phone works same as before

  • If you want to avoid fast charging then don't charge it when your phone is switched off or in power saving mode. By the way this 24watt bundled charger also supports 18 watt (9v-2a), 14 watt (7v-2a) and 10.4watt (5.2v-2a). If your phone getting too hot then it's automatically downgrade to lower voltage like 18 or 14 watt. You can check from geekyranjit's review from youtube..

  • It's safe to OTA to S251 ROW ROM... 15 hours stand-by with 0.3%/hour of energy consumption rate...

  • Don't know what happened to @azhar75's P2.... He isn't replying as well.... So please tell me whether I should update to latest security patch?? As few users have reported battery drain issue, etc...

  • Then I am good to go with the 5V/1A, have it from a different device. I dont mind the slow charge if it helps to prolong battery life, also its said to be best to keep battery charged between 40%-80%. Also where you can check the battery temperature?

  • Use any other 5V USB wall charger. Either 5V/1A, or 5V/2A. Personally, I rarely use the included USB charger as it is a very fast charger, and generate a lot of heat. I use a 5V/2.4A charger. Takes longer, about 2~3 hours. But I usually at that time drive a car, sleep, or next to a wall outlet. No need to wait tell battery reach 100%. Lithium batteries has no memory effect.

  • Anyone knows how to turn off fast charging? Using different charger would be okay for example 5V/1A? Fast charging kills battery faster thats what I want to avoid

  • Is it only me or my software update is again telling network connection error?

  • Please don't tell us you sold your P2. Your very valuable posts were the main reason for getting this phone, because I follow your posts on lowyat forum also. Who will tell us about the tricks, the updates and all the things about this phone ? Who will share his experience as much detail as you ? Who will reveal the bugs, the defaults ? I wish you reconsidered your decision.

  • After half a year struggle deciding what phone get, I finally settled with Lenovo P2, even though due the lack of supply, the few remaining new ones really expensive but better to be safe than sorry.

  • Why no more security update?

  • I think you sold your P2 :-/

  • Please elaborate ASAP...

  • as I expected its the November security patch So, its gonna be the last update from Lenovo, so long..

  • I have p2 and it's working fine not a single problem

  • yup new update now available 95 MB in size, so a security patch is what it is

  • I have 30% battery left.. And I kept charging for 6hours still not responding.. When ever I kept charging it simply blinking.. Plz help

  • What? Touch issues? I faced the same problem. But they replaced my P2's screen within one day. Now it's working fine. Really love this phone. I have two.

  • Yes. It plays hevc fluently.

  • What happend to your p2?

  • Like back arrow button on the top of the settings was not working after nougat update .... It's now fixed

  • Dear all, I have a sad news... My P2 was...errrrr... .... Kind of horrible to mention here...

  • Does the update have any problems? I hope you have this wonderful phone

  • Azhar, we are waiting for your experience. I would like to take the time, and thank you for all the previous months of replying back to us, and helping many users. You are an amazing person, and I wish you all the best in life.

  • Does the update have any problems? I hope you have this wonderful phone

  • P2 Worth, moto g5s plus and moto x4 along moto z play.

  • Btw, @azhar75's hypothesis was very correct..... We got the update xactly on November 15th....

  • Did you use phone until 0%? If you did, just just charge like normal, aftee a while, will back to normal

  • We need to wait for @azhar75's take on this update....

  • New update found. P2a42_S244_170725_ROW_TO_P2a42_S251_171107_ROW

  • You have to try at least for 5 times.

  • I didn't receive any updates. my phone shows network problem when I try to update my phone

  • What kind of bugs already fixed?

  • Some bugs are fixed .... November security patch.

  • No difference found till now. But battery drain issue comes but will have to see after 2-3 charge cycles. But for now battery is draining quickly.

  • I also receive new update from lenovo p2, may I know who already update it and what is the differences?

  • november security patch

  • changes?

  • 95mb

  • update available .. security update ;)

  • Hi frnd, I had an issue with booting.. Last night I try to charge my phone. After few minutes phone not responding... Red color led notification keeps on blinking... Try to go Fastboot mode or hard reset.. But phone not responding. Please help me guys..

  • Not 2017, It's 2016 (Nov). Use filter in phone finder like 5000+ battery, 5.5 inch display, 1080p Resolution, Android 6.0 and above. Minimum 3GB ram, 32GB internal. There is only 12 devices which has these amazing features.

  • closest to being bug free .. not fully though things like Volte etc are still buggy in most ROms

  • YouTube....

  • Guys I want to root my lenovo p2 please can you show me how to do it

  • AOSP extended and resurrection remix.

  • Redmi Note 4, Moto G5 Plus (not G5s plus, not worth the extra money) and if you can get them, the Lenovo K8 Note. There are a gazillion others for different prices and specs, but these are the best overall in my opinion.

  • Which is the best bugfree custom rom for lenovo p2

  • Use Phonefinder here @gsmarena , enter 5000mah batterry, 5.5'' screen, year 2017 and you will see for yourself.

  • Is this phone still worth buying or is there something comparable in the same price range that will offer future upgrades? Thanks.

  • That grap is about os update. Upcoming update is security patch update not os update

  • Even a small OS version update isn't expected if the brand is Lenovo... Hence, no excitement needed!! If that happens, it would be a miracle... It would be just a security patch update including minor bug fixes... And may be the last OTA for P2 as per Lenovo's habit...

  • it says no more updates are available and everyone saying that updates are coming what is going on

  • For me battery usually lasts 5 days. Sometimes even 6. But I do switch off my phone during night.

  • I suspect my p2 front is not glass at all.. It is getting scratches very easily. Even my cheap 5 year old non gorilla glass phone still have no scratches at all. I think its plastic. It feels like that and didn't got cracks even after few hard falls... I m happy that it won't break. But its getting scratches

  • Security update

  • Afterall a glass is a glass not metal. It will break if it drops than tolarate level. It does not matter if it is gorila 3/4/5/6 or more

  • How long does the battery usually last?

  • Amen brother !! I would even be happy with 7.1.1 at this point :)

  • Source? Sounds rather fishy

  • I am 70% sure. Update is coming very soon.

  • I think security update or could be 7.1

  • what kind of update?

  • my phone falls down on flat tile surface and display got broken . service center asking for 8300 inr is there anyone who is facing same problem? i think gorilla glass is not present in most of indian units

  • Time n date. It suppose to launch today

  • How do you know? Android 7.1 or just security patch?

  • P2 update coming in soon!!

  • Just use a standard charger (of good quality, obviously), as the slow charge of a good quality standard charger will do the P2's battery more benefit (lifespan) than constantly charging it with a fast charger. So yes, any USB micro charger that can push enough milliamps (at least 1000 milliamps (1 Amp) will charge the P2. But it would not be wise to use the P2s fast charger on another phone, but it is up to you if you choose to.

  • Just like the OnePlus dash charge technology, P2 Rocket Charge is a proprietary technology as well. So, any 3rd party charger or cable will never ever able to compete with P2 Rocket Charge rate. However, I have tested several Qualcomm's certified Quick Charge 2.0 powerbanks and wall chargers. From 10% to fully charged, they take around 2 hours and 35 minutes; which in my opinion is still comparable with Rocket Charge.

  • Does lenovo p2 charger compatible with other brand phones? It's quite inconvenient if i need to used two differ charger incase i have another secondary phones.

  • Yes u can

  • Can I use 4G jio Volte sim in 2nd sim slot and my primary aircel 3g sim in 1st slot?

  • My p2a42 32GB ROW ROM also having same "Network....please try again"... Good sign so far... S255, come to Papa...!

  • It's back to normal -_-

  • No hope for oreo and 7.1.2 cz update matrix page says there will be no more update for p2

  • Currently it says (Your device's software is up to date). WE NEED P3. COME ON.

  • Guys, The software update page is again telling network connection failed.I Think Like before Lenovo is going to release a new update for the device, let's hope it is Android oreo, or atleast 7.1.2.

  • I chose the Chinese version because of 64GB and it is cheaper as well, costs $210 on Gearbest. The charger came with North American plug and is a fast charger. Also, the language was already set to English. And the most important, it had a global version of operating system. Even though on chassis it says p2c72, if I go to the phone info it writes p2a42. It upgraded to the Android 7.0 without a problem. I am so glad I chose p2c72.

  • Waiting for p3, any idea when p3 is coming out

  • I choosed P2a42 over P2c72 mainly becouse it have all LTE bands operators in my country uses. P2c72 does not.

  • I wonder which phone the MaybeLenovo user ended up chosing? Regarding the concern over the 64gb being the Chinese P2c72, yes that is correct, can only find 64GB on the P2c72. However I found the quality and LTE bands to be excellent. 1) the seller just switched the ROM? Yes that is correct, but had no problem. 2) The Chinese one supports less bandwidth? It supports certain LTE bands, but 4G+ is very fast for me, acceptable for my needs where I live in Australia. (See my post from earlier in October regarding the bands) 3) some people said they couldn't update to newer global firmwares? All auto-updates worked correctly for me, and my phone has no lagging or glitches to speak of, since purchase in August 2017. 4) the 32gb/4gb version selling on eBay for 150% or 200% the price of the 64gb version? Yes I noticed this disparity too when I was choosing between the P2a42 and the P2c72. I chose the Chinese phone (P2c72) with the ROW rom (P2a42 rom). Where the phone is being used will determine whether the global phone is the better choice, (albeit at a higher price and lower gb) because of the LTE bands.

  • Alright... Cheers

  • Camera is normal not up to the standard but other performance is good. One problem is coming with me about software update its after downloading says that update signature did not match.so it can't upgrade and update is ended.i tried 2 to 3 time of 2gb update but I can't successful.any one help or know about this problem???

  • Hi .. I also want to buy from daraz .. can u guide me .. as how is camera working ... As other Lenovo brand contains shitty camera,s

  • Indian version is best it's my personal opinion

  • However, there are importers/online resellers to have flashed stock ROW ROM with Google Play services into the P2c72 units; and yet still cheaper then P2a42 market price. Another factor to check is the Band 20 LTE whether the P2c72 is covering the Band 20 or not. So, need to survey properly before commit to get the P2c72.

  • Woah... That's really helpfull info, thanks for sharing. I just realised the C72 model is far cheaper than the other one. There is no other explanation for the reason except this your explanation, mehn thanks

  • Everyday I regret not buying this phone when I had the chance... SMH

  • My unit is stable and strong... So, most probably due to cell towers issue in your area... Check with your Telco whether they are doing maintenance to these cell towers...

  • It drop signal and become signal dead.

  • I bought it yesterday from daraz pk.its OK no problem with set.its battery is awesome.display is also good.

  • I can give you an idea. Just dwnld google translate to another device and take a foto of p2's initial setup and you can set it up.

  • P2c72 is dedicated to Chinese market. No Google Play Store in it. So, you might need to get direct help from local 3rd party smartphone kiosk or service centre to help with flashing stock Rest-Of-the-World (ROW) ROM. Flashing ROM will void the warranty... It's very frustrating but what other choice we have....

  • Not enough characters in previous post. Does anyone know if I can used the Lenovo P2 users manual to set up the Lenovo P2c72??? Thanks....

  • I recently purchased a Lenovo P2c72 in Hong Kong. I didn't have time to set it up in H.K. When I got it home I found much to my dismay that the user/instruction manual for this phone was in Chinese. I rang Lenovo Australia. Phone is not being sold here yet so they knew nothing. Went online to Lenovo H.K. They confirmed the this model only comes with Chinese user manual. My question is could I the P2 user manual to set up the P2c72? Any help would be appreciated.

  • touche bro couldn't agree more battery is the most important thing after a fast OS I don't mind a slightly heavy phone if it packs a big battery hell if P2 can be so slim after that massive battery, I refuse to believe that its not possible to make a slim phone with big battery

  • Lenovo/Moto can call their phones as they like (not important). I care about battery life. There is like zillion phones out, but only few have battery 5000mAh+. So there is almost no choice for me. (P2 and from newer produtcion date phones, maybe few phones from ASUS). OEM's got to understand battery is super important thing ! Ok, they can keep put small battery like 3000mAh, but then it have to be swapable (like in old Nokia 3110 phones).

  • Well, we don't have to worry about Lenovo phones anymore coz they "will" abandon the mobile division and focus on Motorola Mobility alone. K8 Series will be their last and final mobile devices in the market. Unfortunate news for P-series fan coz P2 is the last of its kind... Love the P780, love the P2 and awaiting for its rival to replace P2...

  • Is the lenovo p series dead? Can't see any leaks or even rumors on the p3 other than the obviously fake click bait sites. I was checking snapdragon processors on wiki and on SD 626 it mention lenovo vibe p3 there as phone with that processor but it seems like a mistake because there is no mention of the phone anywhere.

  • taste of Oreo on P2, in case someone wants to try

  • You missing the point, don't help at all how great the specs are on a unsecure device lenovo is another junk maker

  • If Lenovo P3 is released, I will be the first person to buy it. Dude, With all this device issues, battery life is just crazy!!! I can't live with a phone with less than 5,000mAh Just unbelievable.

  • Hypothesis: Never buy lenovo or companies that can't secure it users period!

  • fingers crossed man :) this is the least Lenovo can do !

  • Once you root the phone it becomes more vulnerable to virus, malwares etc, so its better not to use custom rom if you want to use your phone for banking

  • FYI... P2's OTAs chronicles: S033_160919_ROW = Released from factory. S048_161111_ROW = 1st OTA released on 9th December 2016. S062_170117_ROW = 2nd OTA released on 24th January 2017. S232_170320_ROW = 3rd OTA released on 28th March 2017 (Major Nougat Upgrade). But was withdrawn on 1st April 2017. S233_170404_ROW = 4th OTA released on 11th April 2017 (Supersede previous 3rd OTA). S244_170725_ROW = 5th OTA released on 10th August 2017 (125MB incremental update). Hypothesis: S255_171010_ROW = 6th OTA released on 11th November 2017 (Android Security Patch & bug fixes update).

  • Lenovo promissed that there will be quarterly security update. Is not that?

  • Partially true. With root you cannot use banking apps.

  • somebody said you cannot use banking apps with custom ROMs why is that ?

  • If after 15 November no OTA, meaning they'll be no more OTA...

  • Next expected update dates????

  • Try clean junk setting and storage and scan do you have 2gb

  • I had the same issue, and it resolved after a hard reset. Now, it rarely happen. If updating to the latest firmware didn't help, then you should try a hard reset. Yet, the problem is still happening, but less often. ,, WE NEED P3 ALIVE. xD

  • Hello guys, i bought this phone about a month ago its awesome, only one problem what i found in my phone is apps and folders disappear frequently from home screen, don't know what's the reason tried using different launchers as well but didn't work for me ????

  • Hardware ...p2 Software .....g5s+ Go for g5s+ for oreo , front cam, back cam P2 is old now. P2 has samoled and battery

  • yeah two of them are value for money foned according to you which one. if travel alot and use ur fone for GPS and other stuff P2 is best option.other than that u could go for Moto G5 Plus

  • Is it worth buying, which is better among Moto G5 plus and lenovo p2.

  • Hey, so you say that the bugs pretty much involved the stock firmware? But I have this concern now... You said you bought it from Flipkart. Is your unit a real P2a42 by model? Because seeing how half the users report bugs and half don't, I started to think that perhaps just those who ordered the Chinese P2c72 flashed with P2a42 firmware were having bugs. Either way, I can't find any viable option to order a P2a42 to my country, but I saw it's not too expensive (still more than the Chinese version) on Flipkart and thought about trying to forward it from India somehow. But I want to know it's the real deal and not just another Chinese version with the ROM switched.

  • 1 possible problem with custom ROMS and rooting is that you cannot use banking apps.

  • HI. I bought this model (3gb/32gb) from flipkart in august. i was so excited about this phone. But disappointed after using it for few days because there are many flaws in nougat firmware. As you mentioned there is a lagging and stuttering is present at current rom. So i decided to unlock its bootloader and use custom roms. But the biggest pain is that you have to wait for 14 days to unlocking the bootloader for this particlular device and require lenovo id. Once it unlocked then relocking is not possible. But then using custom recovery such as TWRP u can flash custom roms and do many things with your device. I flashed dolby atmos. There are many custom roms are available on XDA for this device and recently android 8.0 oreo(Alpha stage) rom also available. But after using custom rom i can say that many of the bugs are gone.

  • Purchased Lenovo P2 recently, updated it to Android 7 immediately and it works perfectly. Absolutely great phone! Excellent display (AMOLED rocks), not too heavy if you take into account that the battery inside this thing is huuuuge. Double tap to wake - I loved this on Nokia N7 and Lumia 700 and still love it with P2 (although I use fingerprint reader more and more). Fingerprint reader with gestures - didn't even know how useful this can be until I started using it!!! When you use the fingerprint reader gestures (tap to go back, double tap for task list), Android command bar is hidden which gives even more space on the screen). I've started using Android after long time so I cannot comment on Android version that comes with the phone but it does not seems bloated to me - it looks clean and it is fast. And I think that Lenovo P2 is better purchase than Huawei P10 Lite.

  • Thanks. If that's the model on all batches then it's pretty good, as I considered buying the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 a couple of days ago but then read they've been sneaky and replaced the Sony IMX258 module on all newer batches with a worse Samsung or Omnivision module, so all reviewers which said the camera is good for the price (not amazing, obviously) were reviewing a camera different to what's available now. But I have a different issue with the P2 now... I read that all versions with 64gb/4gb are actually the Chinese P2c72, and that if it's sold as "global" the seller just switched the ROM. The Chinese one supports less bandwidth and some people said they couldn't update to newer global firmwares. Is that true? It's pretty annoying. I would even get the 32gb/4gb version if it were a true global, but all I found is a couple of people selling it on eBay for 150%, sometimes over 200% the price of the 64gb version. What the hell.

  • Absolutely correct!!!! You can also take a look at several videos on YT literally REQUESTING Lenovo for updates, support stuff for its devices, etc...

  • For me, Lenovo P2 for sure.

  • From what I can remember, Sony IMX258 sensor.

  • Why don't you guys flood the Lenovo official forum? Let your voice be heard. You've got nothing to lose trying.

  • Friend's plz suggest me Lenovo p2 good or Huawei p10 lite.thanks

  • Hey, I considered buying this phone a couple of months ago, but reading about the several (possibly software) bugs made me uncertain about a purchase. I keep reading some people saying "this is fixed" and some saying "now I have this bug". So here are a couple of points to consider: Do you still have out-of-sync audio in YouTube with your P2? Some said that after the Android 7 update, their speaker started sounding distorted. Is it still so for everyone? I also read complaints about video playback starting to stutter and battery draining too quickly due to some unknown background processes. Are people still having this on their P2? And then perhaps, if all of these problems are possibly software-related, is any of you running a custom ROM and not experiencing any of these bugs, thus confining them only to the stock firmware? Thanks in advance! And one last thing... Any information on what camera module is used in the P2?

  • Depends on your needs. I bought the P2c72 64GB / 4G RAM version because of the memory. I have had this phone for 2 months now, with no problems at all. I use this phone very frequently on 4G+ and GPS all the time, and I still find I only need to charge it every 2nd night. I turn on the battery saver switch just before I sleep. it allows calls and my alarm clock to come through, but preserves the battery consumption while I am asleep. The seller on EBAY pre-loaded the P2c72 with P2a42-ROW firmware (non-China), and the auto-updates ensured the device is running and synchronised with Google and Google maps etc Regarding the Chinese varsion - in Australia the LTE bands this phone is missing include bands 28 and 7 (Optus & Telstra use these bands), and band 5 (Vodaphone). I am using Optus, but despite not having access to bands 28 and 7, I have still found that 99% of the time I am connected to 4G+ with most or all bars of signal strength. I also get very high 4G+ speeds in both city and rural areas of Melbourne Australia (>55 mb/s 4G download speed while inside a dense apartment block). That is because the Chinese variant supports some of the important 4G bands for use in Australia, including bands 40, 3, and 1. I can not comment for other countries, but it is possible to work out for yourself whether the P2c72 or the P2a42 variant will suit your needs based on which LTE bands your network provider uses. So far I have had no hanging, no lagging between tasks or during programs, no overheating or warmth, no problems to speak of so far. I have dropped the phone (with no cover or screen protector) maybe 30 times now, partly because it is so slippery. I balance the phone on the arm of the sofa, and you can watch the phone slowly sliding until it falls off! Although it has some slight marks around the edges and corners, the screen has no scratch or chips, and the phone is in good working order (surprisingly). A very good phone all round, and exactly what I was looking for.

  • I think you'll easily get 1 day battery life....after lot of using like social media,,,gaming,,,youtube and even others thing......

  • very correct. they are not supporting it

  • Also important thing that GPS in this phone is great. But unfortunately no Galileo GPS support (but Lenovo could add it via patch/update if they wanted, becouse hardware supports it).

  • I love this mobile and crazy about it because lot of reasons 1- battery 5100 2- fast charging 24 wat 3- super Amoled Screen 4- fingerprint front rear which easy to use 5- 2 SIM cards which help me and make me don't need to another mobile 6- very fast because the snapdragon octa core 2.0 7- very nice in all games 8- memory 4 GB RAM not in all mobiles in mid range cost 9- 32 GB internal memory is the minimum requirement now and also u can use memory card 10 - reverse charge so u can use as power bank for another mobile but unfortunately there is no good support and no spare parts no good insurance in lenovo Thanks Lenovo P2 :)

  • made in india

  • i got one and i think no phn is as fast as this

  • I broke the screen after a few months use. The repair cost of the screen is 50% of the purchase price and very few repair shops will get spare parts to this phone.

  • No doubt it's the best mid-range smartphone in the market. Even better than Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 because of Super amoled display, 5100mah battery, Front fingerprint scanner with gesture, 24 watt quick charger, on screen customizable Navigation key, near stock Android 7 etc. So i bought two Lenovo P2. But yes, i had to replace one of it's screen due to touch problem but still i am very happy to use it.. It's gives me 12 to 14 hours screen on time. Which is excellent.

  • This device is the best in market but sadly lenovo don't know that

  • Recently purchased. I have to say that this phone has excellent display. overall features as mentioned works perfectly well. i am satisfied to have made a good choice.

  • Both are good. Only one differance which is the 'made in .....'

  • Which version is good Indian or Chinese ? Is there any major difference of the two countries product?

  • is it chinese or indian version?

  • Actually, Lenovo owns Motorola.

  • That's strange purchased from Flipkart 3gb Ram Gold Made in India! Maybe Colour or Ram Version has got to do with Made in Stuff 😜

  • some opinion about antenna strenght signal? Good reception in 2G/3G? Thx.

  • true AF if only people were more sensible and not fall victim to gimmicky crappy phones from Samsung , Nokia and Moto

  • Lenovo is strangely and sadly fixated more on marketing crappy phones like the K Note series more than the P series Also, now that Lenovo owns Moto, all they want to do is make money on Moto's brand value and shove as many phones as they can with the Moto lineup

  • i just want to know if it good enough to buy considering the lenovo issues like the weak network and the heat thanks

  • Many users are here. Just ask :)

  • hi any real users for this phone ? thanks

  • Thanks for this.

  • Thanks bro.

  • So far all the cell towers for the telcos which I subscribed have no drop calls or signal strength issue. It depends on all towers congestion too... One day it's great but the next day may not be so...

  • some opinion about antenna strenght signal? Good reception in 2G/3G? Thx.

  • Bought from flipkart made in china

  • I think there is 2 version of Lenovo P2 the Indian & Chinese ... the one which is sold in Flipkart is official Lenovo assembled in India the Chinese version are sold in European market.

  • I know there's a lot of fake samsung I want to be sure if there is a fake lenovo p2

  • Guys I wanted to know is there a fake version for lenovo p2 I want to buy one from ebay

  • Wow I did not know it was lighter than the iphone 8 and 7 plus.

  • Cause no one knows about this phone, except those who search, and compare specs with prices. Lenovo should have made huge marketing for an exceptional phone. 5,100mAh, SD625, AMOLED screen, and 12V/2A charger. Also, lighter than iPhone 7/8 Plus. COME ON LENOVO, MAKE THE P3 ALIVE!!!

  • I am using this phone since july 2017 and never faced any probrem. excellent battery time . never got stuck even a single time

  • And who is doing stupid marketing.....? Lenovo...

  • is this phone can be rooted ? what is the procedure if it can be rooted ?

  • P2 didn't sell nearly as much as Lenovo would have estimated Hell , even Moto M, one of the worst phones last year, sold double the units P2 did So, as much as we would hate to see Lenovo abandon the P series, you cannot blame them considering the losses suffered The only ones to blame here are the people who keep buying into stupid gimmicks and marketing

  • FYI... .... and many more...

  • Your review is great its help me to buy this phone.but I didn't know about game experience.

  • I bought this phone from Flipkart after a lot of research and help from gsmarena and other sites. The battery is quite good and I follow the 40%-80% shallow charging method to keep it good Display is awesome It came with marshmallow and immediately got the nougat update. No issues as of now as people complained in Lenovo forums Using nougat split screen on this large screen is quite a nice experience While applying temper glass there were air bubbles on the sides but nothing that is too distracting. You see it only when the phone screen is off Camera quality looks good and the smart mode takes awesome photos and auto detects whether the setting is low light, landscape etc. There is also a beautify option by default for selfies. But pics are pixelated when you zoom even a little. Not much of a concern for me though Fast charging is pretty fast and goes from 30 to 80 on around half an hour ( not exact time, just a estimate) So overall it's a phone that's value for money for a budget buyer like me

  • Officially in black-and-white, P2a42 won't get Oreo... Source : Hence, stop buying LeMoto products if OTA is important to you....

  • I agree with u in all ur comments about Lenovo P2 :)

  • Come on Lenovo, it's almost November now, Where is P3...???

  • the only single model that compete with galaxy s7

  • P series is the ultimate phone for battery hungry users. I literally woke up from sleep, and went to college, and didn't even bother to see the battery percentage. It was 40%~ Gone the days when looking at the battery percentage. I am seriously concerned if they would kill the P series. I HATE to be always concerned about what % my battery is, and whether I should charge or not. They might wanna release the P3 with a bezel-less design, and they need time? Who knows xD

  • If lenovo wont release P3 ever, then my thoughts about those who are in charge of making decisions will stay super low. One got to be blind to not see market for this quite unique phone.

  • Nothing, yet. Come on Lenovo 😭

  • Is their any drawback in this phone? Did I play a game like brother in arm3 or modren combat 5 without hanging.and les battery consumption please???

  • Any drawback in this phone please??

  • Its almost November has there been any word on the lenovo p3?

  • Thanks dude for the reply, can you pls check if its ust reading it or you can also write, if it does, I m planning to buy the Hardisk for my TV.

  • P2 already has pure android mate But its not gonna get updated past Nougat :(

  • Yeah it supports 1tb hard drive but after connecting battery drainage is very very fast

  • "The microUSB 2.0 port supports USB-On-The-Go so that you can hook up flash drives and other USB accessories to it. It cannot output video, as there's no MHL or SlimPort functionality." Source :

  • Hey P2 user, can any1 check if P2 supports external Hardisk of 500gb or even 1tb, as I found some1 on youtube who claims it supports 1tb!!

  • No bugs, no problems ir issues. A soft screen feel. Superior battery life 2-3 days in one charge for real. Very fast with 4gb ram. Has an adapter coming with it to use a usb stick out external drive. And also the body is very scratch resistant... What more do we need!

  • That was there is marshmellow in my china unit.after n update there is no such problem

  • Only one thing Chinese companies are notorious to make handsets with inferior components, Huawei is a big player and put low end in premium high priced devices.

  • Nothing like that. Made in India units are as good as anyone else. The issue with P2 is software one. When the on screen keys are hidden or disabled, that screen area works as good as any other portion. But after about 5-10 seconds its responsiveness decreases a bit. This looks like a case of software bug where touch responsiveness is decreased mistakenly.

  • Will Lenovo P2 Get Pure Android In Next Update Like K8 Series...... Anyone Know????

  • Go for Xiaomi phones its very reliables and durables..

  • Most of the lagging and stuttering issue is due to 3rd party apps running in the background eating all the available memory. I've owned P2 since December last year and never ever face such issues. My 3rd party apps are typical social apps and casual games. Email and navigation are from Google's trusted apps. Things will go worsen when we installed illegal/hacked 3rd party apps from unknown sources.... we want illegal, cheap and free apps; we get the consequences...

  • Travel a lot...? Ensure the device support "True World Band/Connectivity". P2 is only covering half of the world HSDPA and LTE bands. You might wanna explore Asus Zenfone series (ZenFone 4 Max Pro for energy capacity) or Moto G-, X- and Z-series. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is also advertised as "True World Network Band" but I guess it is beyond your wallet capacity....(?)

  • It is not that much buggy. My assumption is that 'made in india' units are affected by screen issue. I have china unit no screen issue related to touch. Softwares have some bugs you can live with them dont worry. Go for p2 is you want battery and only battery. Want a balanced phone?? Have a look g5s+ or mi a1.

  • Hey guys, I'm thinking of buying Lenovo P2 but I've seen alot of talk about bugs, screen not working etc.. I need reliable phone because I use it for work and also travel alot so I don't have time to wait for phone to come from service. Is it really so buggy and should I avoid it?

  • while charging cable is connected try to reboot your phone and it will work, i ve had the same issue and a i do this thing every time i need to fast charge my phone...

  • Does any one have video playback problem

  • thats where Apple is great having said that, all their devices are flagships though :) The only way you can have longer updates for non flagship phones is either buying the Android One devices like Mi A1 , Moto X4, or installing custom ROMs But unfortunately, the custom ROM situation is not good for P2 :(

  • My Mi3 has so many updates till i loss count, my phone come with Jelly Bean then Kit Kat & now Murshmallow, MiUi 5 till now MiUi 8, this phone received the most update. Off course you can't expect low range received as much updates as flagship, this is the same with all the manufacturer.

  • I had the same problem. Now i turned off bluetooth scanning. Problem solved for now. Thanks.

  • Ok ok get that now... Solved the issue... @azhar75 You are Genius LOL.... All those facing this simply follow above mentioned...

  • yes you are right Happens for me too, when I tried

  • And Dolby atoms,,at least 8mp front camera with flash..then it will be unbeatable...

  • I want a p3 with 2 sim and with separate memory card slot...

  • xiaomi updates are worst.....trust me. at least for Redmi pro and note 4 that is

  • Hi Lenovo P2 a42 or c72 Which one is better ?

  • Sorry but my unit is fine. Turn off GPS won't trigger Bluetooth settings. Have you turn off "Bluetooth Scanning" in the advance GPS toggle?

  • This is a serious bug.... We should report it to the official forum.. Thanks to whosoever noticed it....

  • Still the issue isn't solved..... @azhar75

  • Same here

  • No such issue in my unit... Perhaps you need to try: Settings > Backup & reset > Network settings reset...

  • Yes p2 will not get oreo officially. As lenovo is not expanding its business there is a chance of not having p3. Lenovo will replace lenovo mobiles by moto mobiles. Lenovo will focus on other things. It is my prediction

  • Yes.... @azhar75

  • what about B20 (800 MHz)

  • I really need a 64gb version, and a better camera.

  • Let's hope lenovo makes the only right thing to do and continue upgrade the device, P3 no need until second generation 7nm processors 2 years away current device have the fastest low power components the best there is.

  • Hi but you can utilize the screen much better try under develop options set the width dp to 500dp, after that you are able to have 7 icons on the bottom row

  • I found a bug in my Lenovo p2 , whenever I turned off GPS , BT is turning ON automatically. Anyone faced this problem

  • I own the Lenovo P2 and my good friend owns an A57 Oppo. Pros for the A57: slightly smaller and easier to handle, slightly better photos (low light) Pros for the P2: Battery will last significantly longer than the A57, screen resolution and AMOLED display is far superior to the A57, and the P2 is faster (and able to handle gaming much better). It really depends on what you are looking for in a phone. For me, I needed a phone that has good memory and doesn't need recharging more than once a day, and so far the P2 has definitely exceeded my expectations, albeit is a larger phone than what I am used to. This site lets you compare phone against phone specs.

  • I think we will never get Oreo. Even though if we get it, Lenovo updates are so slow. So, if there was an issue with Oreo update, a fix will take months to arrive. I'll stick with 7.0 .. The real questions is, will there be a Lenovo P3?

  • Thanks I just finished watching it I think I'll buy the p 2. The battery is really big

  • which is better lenovo p2 or oppo a57? and why? I really can't decide which phone i would buy

  • Any Updates Regarding Oreo?

  • not in night mode. it is in normal and vibrant mode

  • Settings > Notification Centre > Display battery indicator > Combined style...

  • Yes, battery percentage exist. Nothing was changed in that matter.

  • Question to those who updated their P2 to Nougat. Can you still see battery % on home screen statusbar without any additional soft or that feature is removed? I mean I need to see how much is left, like 31%, 15% etc. Not some kind of nonsense approximative indicator without actual % shown.

  • Is it Night mode?

  • FYI... P2 is on no. 5 in the list!

  • How you guys are talking about this phone I think I'll buy one By the way is it good for gaming

  • All types of GLASS breaks... Don't bother the gimmick & marketing stunts of tempered glass... Just apply any cheap tempered glass on top of stock screen & be happy when accidents happen...

  • Specs mention Corning Gorilla glass 3- but the Corning Gorilla website does not list this model under its Mobiles with Corning Glass category. It mentions only K8 & K8plus. Can any user tell if it really is there or it is mentioned in the Box please ?

  • Offline video also shattered frame skip in p2.

  • I am looking at my display on the P2. I don't really see any yellow tint on this one. I do have my display on vivid and vibrant colour, rather than "normal", so perhaps that helps ?

  • Yellowish tint is normal in p2. Most of the amoled have little bit of yellow or red tint because of sub pixels. Its not a problem. It is noticable in evening and after noon. Apart from that you can notice the same by comparing an IPS display side by side. Just set color mode to vibrant from normal to reduce the yellow tint little bit.

  • 1. It's a defect ask for replacement 2. Ram management is good in nougat

  • It's great after nougat update but I suggest use marshmallow for a month and then update

  • Hi friends, after seeing lot of good feedback I decided to buy it and it's been 5 days that have started using it. I liked the build quality, the design, sound output, battery backup. There is two concerns. 1. I was excited to use my first sAmoled, sometime the colours look very good but sometime I feel there is some yellowish kind of layer in the display. is this normal in AMOLED display or it's a defect? 2. I am using 3GB variant and planning to upgrade it to nougat but is it worth? how much RAM will be available after nougat upgrade?...

  • Had this nice phone for almost 6 month now with virtually no problem until it fell on me couple of time and display screen showed some cracks. AMLOED and touchscreen functions still working fine but can't seem to find a a speedy replacement for the front screen anywhere!! Takes almost a month to fix it under warranty!! Heard somewhere that screen, display, digitizer are Samsung and Samsung parts would fit. Don't know which model or if that is true at all. Any help would be appreciated, thanx

  • Just a reminder firefox beta 57 is released have some servo/quantum technology makes it twice as fast and uses 30% less memory

  • Don't know about that, charge it yesterday from 18-100% didn't notice much difference but in general show and cold charging is better on the long run see here

  • You are clueless.

  • I regularly use a Mi Power Bank 10400mAh, and a non-oem micro usb cable. I timed how long my Lenovo P2 took to charge on this - it went from 5% to 100% in about 3.5 hours, while I was still intermittently using the P2 for web browsing etc. I would call that a fast enough charge for my needs. The other powerbanks I have (as well as the other non-Lenovo usb chargers which I have) are unable to charge the phone in under 7 hours (usually not reaching beyond 75% capacity within that timeframe), and I doubt that leaving it a few hours longer on these incorrect chargers will make much improvement. I am about to buy another Mi Power Bank 10400mAh from ebay, just because it works pretty well for my needs. These work well enough for other smartphones also.

  • Yes using LG G2 charger works just fine

  • And that so-called "regular" charger will get full charge (from 10%) in 2 hours...?

  • Yes P2 is the best phone on the market, just remember to clean cache once in a while and save over 1gb diskspace and lagging ui

  • Nope, use a regular quality charger works just fine

  • P2 is adopting PROPRIETARY fast charge tech. Totally different than VOOC/Dash and Qualcomm Quick Charge. Hence, any 3rd party charger or powerbank will not be 100% compatible with P2. However, using the Mi 10,000 Slim Pro Powerbank will finish around 45 minutes more than the stock Rocket Charger. This is pretty much similar to Qualcomm QC 2.0 rate (for 5.1K mAh capacity).

  • Dont watch using wifi when you have an active jio 4g sim in p2.

  • Display good, battery performance beyond ur expections

  • Video stuttering frame skipping problem .. im using latest firmware nougat. What to do? Have anyone have this problem?

  • @azhar75 How to get rid of air bubble lining that is created at the edges due to the 2.5D nature?

  • Fast charging only takes place with the stock adapter.... Any powerbank doesn't give you a high input... Fast charging depends on both phone and the output of the adapter...

  • @Azhar my p2 is not fast charging when I use brand new MI power bank 2 10000mah with stock p2 cable.

  • Check the manufacturer date. Battery should last about 6 months if switched off.

  • thank u for suggestion, ordered lenovo p2 ,flipkart too delivered fast , packing were good everything in the list was there inside the box, but when i switched on the power button my phone not started then after charging, the phone started with power saving mode button on.. i want to know is it normal or flipkart has given an used set .....

  • its only hidden , i want to disable it.

  • Nope make sure you running latest software, just ignore azz taking

  • Is there a particular reason for this?

  • Phone is amazhing.. but dont update to nougat

  • I think it's still not as comfortable as normal keys. I wish I could change it's behavior like double tap the button for recent apps.

  • Check the settings > System button. You can also use fingerprint sensor as a navigation button.

  • sometimes phone does not ring on incoming calls it only vibrates. can anybody provide the solution.

  • Yes, we can play 2 games at the same time as long as the games support split screen. If they don't, you can force them to do it but most likely half of the game screen will be hidden. Depending on the game, could still be enough to play though.

  • lol you just highlighted the three main strenghts of P2, and also mentioned there is no reason to buy a P2 P2 has a superamoled screen, the best battery out there, an awesome desgin as compared to A1, which has huge ugly bezels, and not to forget the awesome fast charging The only reason to buy A1 would be faster and longer Android updates (but I doubt anyone would be using that phone till Android P comes out end of next year), and somewhat better camera, only in good light A1 battery barely lasts a day, and needs 2 hours to get charged again

  • We have same faith...

  • I took my chances and upgraded to nougat last night. I did factory reset before and after the update. So far everything is perfect. No common bugs as people are complaining, like loudspeaker volume decreased, notifications stuck on notification area. I dont even have problem in whatsapp when activating emojis - there is no black space in the bottom of the screen, regardless if on screen navigation buttons are hidden or not.

  • According to tweet p2 will struck in nougat forever. No future os update from lenovo.

  • Igot p2 last week , the phone is very good , fast and reliable, but the only major probl for me that i cant deal with the BLANK NAVIGATION BAR AT BOTTOM, how can i make is visible? , how can i disable it (not hide)? the blank navigation bar actually took from screen size ,anybody can help me without rooting

  • In nougat can we run 2 games simultaneously in multiwindow?

  • Hi all, I upgraded to Nougat 7.0 and have found no problems yet. I am happy with the speed of the apps and speed of the phone. I have not done a factory reset. Would a reset be recommended to ensure speed and app optimization?

  • I recommend you to factory reset after Android 7.0 update

  • Hi guys. Should I update my lenovo P2 to android nougat 7.0? Please advice. Thanks.

  • As far as i know there is no screen touch issue as mine is workin fine after nougat update. But i have come across few people who had reported few top/bottom spots/areas unresponsive in screen which i believe is hardware issue. May be bad luck to get faulty ones and there should be some support/return of defective ones available i believe.

  • If you are not urgent wait for next P* series i.e Lenovo P3 which should have more storage, better processor, camera, few annoying bugs fixed etc Having said that Lenovo P2 is a decent buy if you get in sale/discount (as is usual with Flipkart etc in India region) at 20-25% discount or even slightly more with card offers/return of old phones etc Remember esp in India Lenovo P2 was launched around Oct-2016 i believe and was launch price was 17K for 4GB RAM-32GB storage variant,,16K for 3GB-32GB variant. So if you get around 12-12.5K or even slightly less with card offers/exchange etc go for it. You need screen guard for sure as display replacement would make you mad as it is costly compared to whole price of device in these mid range phones.

  • Very amusing :D I put it down to a bad batch, or series of batches. Bad batches which miss being stopped at the Quality Assurance level can occur at any time throughout the manufacturing. As with any manufacturing, sometimes the initial production of a model (of anything) may contain bugs or faults, which when brought to the attention of the company, (or discovered by their own Quality Assurance tests), they often endeavor to remedy the fault in later batches of production. In theory. My phone was made less than 8 months ago, and I will be watching it to see if any problems occur over time.

  • Thanks a lot :)

  • In nougat can we run 2 games simultaneously in multiwindow?

  • From my analysis, In terms of screen shattering gold variant of Lenovo p2 is much stronger than the black variant

  • Gold P2c72.

  • I just tried Screen Touch Test, Multi Touch Test and Phone Check (and Test). No part of the screen on my P2c72 is unresponsive. Multitouch 10 fingers works correctly. This phone is on Android 7.0 (Nougat), no root access. Build is P2a42_S244_170725_ROW. Android Security patch level 1 July 2017.

  • Xiaomi make some alright phones, and my friend has a Redmi 3s. Compared to the P2, the Xiaomi MI A1 photo quality is not very different. Goes to show that the f value isn't everything. A few Xiaomis include a 4000 mA capacity, and some Xiomis have super amoled screens, but the MI A1 has a 3080 mA battery and an LTPS IPS screen, which might be how that device is able to be priced lower. Almost none of the Xiaomis include LTE band 28, which means they will not be as popular with Australian Optus and Telstra customers (but Australia Vodaphone uses bands 1, 3 and 5, meaning good compatibility with that network provider).

  • Same question here. Does everyone face the touch issue after the update? I am not too concerned about the phone being old as it's specs are top notch for me. But I don't want my touch screen failing after few months

  • Brand new LeMoto P2 should cost less than 75% of launching price... there's no reason to get P2 anymore unless energy consumption is the No. 1 priority followed by Super AMOLED and third-ly the NFC... If we don't have the three priority above, just forget about P2 and invest on Xiaomi MI A1 which I crowned as "The Most Disruptive Android Device for 2017" award...LOL...

  • Hence, here comes the warranty claim...

  • what is the remaining RAM available in 3GB varient?

  • Guys since price of Lenovo p2 is reduced now, should I go for it or the moto g5s plus? Is camera in g5s significantly better?

  • LLL and Latvis, for me it was a choice between the Lenovo P2 and the Asus Zenfone 3 Zoom ZE553KL(Taiwan variant). Both have similar specs (and both similar in a few ways to an iPhone 8+). I bought the P2 based on price, the front facing fingerprint button, and the reviews regarding battery life, processor speed, Super AMOLED, memory and the camera's F value of 2.0. The ZE553KL has a better camera f value and has more band compatibility, but I am very happy with the P2 camera performance. So far the biggest thing to get used to regarding this phone is the size. I come from owning the Samsung galaxy S4 mini, S5 mini (both fitted with the enlarged 6000mAh batteries), and an Xperia Z5 compact (which would usually last me 5 hours of battery life). Nowadays there are almost no small phones on the market with a good processor and memory plus a large battery capacity (or detachable battery).

  • Which varient is yours -gold or black??

  • @azhar75: No. I dont use such things.

  • Could it be due to the screen protector/tempered glass...?

  • Strange that we still don't have top-notch camera (best possible) from any phone maker but also at least 5000+ mAh battery in 1 device. Is OEM's really afraid to make phone so perfect that nobody will care to buy next model ? I think its silly fear. People will always buy. I would love best possible camera, but buying anything below 5000mAh (non-removable) is not for me. I came to P2 from Galaxy Note2+Zerolemon 9300mAh. So I know about long battery life :)

  • My Lenovo Vibe K4 Note developed similar issue 1-2 months ago. Here's a copy of my post in K4 Note's thread "My one year old (Aug 2016) K4 Note's touchscreen is failing... Certain areas of the screen are no longer responsive to touch input, particularly around keyboard area. Annoying... :(" 14 Aug 2017 Typing has become slightly problematic, however I am still using it while looking for suitable replacement. P.S been considering Lenovo P2 and following this thread as well, but seems I won't be getting it after all. I want a significantly better camera than both K4 Note and P2.

  • Sorry to hear. Mine is a new device, and I have literally dropped the phone several times without any case or protection on the road and on tiles. I am still awaiting my phone cover to arrive in the mail :( I am happy mine "seems to be ok at the moment", but after your post I wonder if there was a flaw during manufacture, and am now looking on android play for a screen diagnostic app. Might be something available to help detect faulty sensors.

  • Wait for P3 as this device is almost an year old now for the market... Also the device has poor screen protection which is more than half of the actual device cost. Moreover no more updates post 7.0..

  • My issue is most likely hardware issue. I dont have latest update installed (still using android 6.0.1) - becouse it is my choice. Anyway just tried your method - didnt solve anything for me.

  • Hi all, I noticed that, with my recent update of my firmware, my touch screen sometimes has become unresponsive, but to remedy this I have found that beginning to drag from the top the menu, then pushing it back up again allows me to be able to use the touchscreen again as normal. Latvis - have you tried this?

  • That's scary... the digitizer is of poor quality... hence, my hypothesis of the screen is NOT from Samsung is almost believable...

  • Sad to admit, but after using my P2 for about 8month it started to show infamouse touch screen issues (there is topic about it on Lenovo P2 forum, symptoms on my phone is exatcly the same). Some (so far small, but its noticable) parts of screen just not responding to touch. I have not tested this futher with any diagnostic app, but its a fact. For example I use 1 app which is intended to generate code and then copy it in to other app. I cannot do it anymore. As it happen code is right on position where screen is not responsive. Only solution is to rotate to landscape and then I am able to copy it. It is annoying.

  • That happend to me once. I delibretly focused the AC on the phone while charging to minimize heat while "fast charging". Battery percentage went from 0% to 50% in less than 15 minutes. When I stopped charging and used the phone, battery got drained faster than usual, way faster. I drained it. Then fully charge it without focusing the AC to the phone. Things got back to normal. I'll try azhar's advise. Thank you, azhar for your presence with us throughout months. You are an amazing person.

  • Not normal... it's time to re-calibrate the battery... To calibrate the battery, press and hold the Power button until the screen goes dark, about 7-10 seconds. When the screen goes dark, release the Power button and the phone will automatically reboot. Plug the phone in and let it charged overnight, using only the charger that came in the box with the phone

  • Sometimes when I charge my Lenovo P2 it charges extremely fast and then slows down ( for eg 35% to 57% in just 2 mins and then it charges normally) is it normal guys? I am on nougat firmware S244

  • FYI... Original Lenovo 12V 2A Fast Charger

  • Does anybody know where to buy a lenovo spare charger with the same wattage provided with the handset, along with the cable? Lenovo's after-sale service, just like any other mushrooming Chinese electronics company, is nothing sort of a nightmare, as they don't even bother picking up the call and luckily when they do, they simply inform in no uncertain terms that they don't have any spare parts for P2.

  • you can use taobao,haha

  • Mr.Akram read the phone instructions and follow the tips, first save your data and reboot the phone, Automatically its conected jio, i think your jio subscription is over....

  • Has there been any talk about lenovo p3, I've seen a video on a YouTube channel called gadgets arena but I can't trust it seems dodgy. I feel like I should wait for the p3 rather than getting the p2.

  • Is zip app pre installed in lene vo P2 like ke note or ke note? Please tell me anyone?

  • Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! Appreciate it a lot!

  • Usually phone screens you can buy from ebay, but changing is tricky, you need a professional

  • Let me guess, that unit still running old stock Mellow firmware...?

  • Hi all! I have a P2a42 and frequently people tell me that hear me very bad in a phone call. Does anyone had the same issue? It is very uncomfortable to speak louder in a open space office. Speaker works ok. Do you know how to fix this? Thx!

  • That is very unfortunate. P2 owners must in all times use a cover that has a higher edge than the screen bezel. Cause the screen is not easy to find, and the dealer will repait it for a ridiculous cost. So, use a cover in all times.

  • this phone is very nice with good battery life but after my screen got broken, i cannot seem to find it to buy. Where can i get the screen online to buy. Heelp.

  • Yes ,it do Support Jio volte

  • Hi, Does this support JIO sim ? it is VOlte phone ? please help

  • Don't confuse between: 1) flat sunken screen, 2) 2.5D and 3) "Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge" screen... Flat sunken screen means the screen sides are about 1mm sunken below the metal frame. Eg, Samsung Galaxy S5, 2016 Galaxy J-series, Xiaomi Redmi 3, etc. The advantage of this old fashion design is when the phone fall flat screen first, the perimeter frame will absorb the impact. It's like camera lense sunken below the metal body... P2 camera lense is about 1mm below the metal body which is a good design... 2.5D screen means the screen sides are about 1mm above the metal frame with sides rounded to 2.5 of this 1mm height.... P2 has 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass panel but very subtle curves compared to iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S7, HTC U11, etc. The third design is "edge" glass panel which most Samsung flagships nowadays have; including the Note8.

  • Yes, it has a 2.5D curved glass...

  • friends someone please let me know if the display has 2.5 D curved glass?? somebody in video review were saying it is flat...

  • I'm running latest S244 firmware. Tested using CPU-X, all 8 cores running simultaneously at the lowest 652.8MHz even after idle for 5 minutes. CPU Governor is "Interactive". But if we pick up the phone and orientate to landscape, the CPU-X will give a glimpse of " idle" for all 8 cores. Furthermore, in CPU-X app, there is a pie chart for "CPU Status" which shows the "Deep Sleep" time and percentage since the device is switched on. Deep Sleep is 93% for the past 32 hours. Meaning, all 8 cores are actually at 0MHz for 93% of time since switched on. Hence, don't look at the current core speed. Look at the Deep Sleep time / period.

  • recently am purchased Lenovo P2 @ flipcart, just one day 4g is working , data working only in wifi, jio4g is not working, am replace the sim 2times, but nos use, data is not conected, only for calls, very bad phone...

  • @AZHAR75 After nougat update have you (or anyone else reading this) checked if CPU-Z still shows all 8 cores running continuously?

  • Azhar bhai, I compared Mi Max 2 with P2 because of battery capacity, but only problem with M2 is size which may not fit into pocket sometime. I am not much gaming person, but may like VR, that's the one more reason I chose P2 over Mi Max2.

  • If your don't gaming and VR, 3GB RAM is enough for next 3 years... MI Max 2 is not direct competitor to P2. Redmi Note 4 is the one you should consider. Since you are looking at Xiaomi already, might as well go for MI A1 if you don't mind about the battery capacity. MI A1 won my "Most Disruptive Phone of 2017" award....whereas P2 is the "Most Underrated Phone of 2017" award and also "Most Energy Efficient Phone of 2017" award....

  • Hi Friends, after doing lot of research I decided of buying P2 but only 3GB ram variant is available in flipkart. is it ok to buy it??? will there be any issues in future with lesser ram??? comparatively is Mi Max 2 better with 4GB/64GB???

  • In philippines, how much is lenovo p2 with 32gb - 4gb ram?

  • Hi Anonymous, Regarding the different bands for LTE/4G in India: it is better to refer to the Band numbers rather than the frequencies, because many bands operate on the same frequencies (eg, both band 38 and 7 operate on band 2600MHz, but a phone with only LTE band 38 will not interface with LTE band 7) Based on the websites, the P2a42 LTE bands are: 1,3,5,7,8,20,28,38 and 40, and the P2c72 LTE bands are: 1,3,38,39,40 and 41 Airtel seems to only rely on LTE band 3 and band 40, which both P2a42 and P2c72 support. Airtel also uses UMTS band 1 and 8, again supported by both P2a42 and P2c72. Reliance Jio relies on LTE bands 3, 5 and 40, and the P2a42 has all these, but the P2c72 does not support band 5. B3 and B40 will probably be enough 4G coverage for your needs anyway, and further to this, both P2a42 and P2c72 phones support UMTS B1 and B8, which are the UMTS bands used by Reliance Jio. In summary, it doesn't really matter which one you buy in terms of the mobile network speed and coverage. If someone does choose the Chinese variant, it makes life easier if the vendor has already flashed the phone with the P2a42 firmware (ROW). I bought the 64GB Chinese version from ebay for AUS $ 325, and it came with the ROW firmware pre installed.

  • I did some additional research, and came across this website. I was able to search for the phone model. Thereafter, I was able to search by country for each model, and check the frequencies that each service provider operates on, and the frequencies supported by the phone model. This might help some of you, so, sharing this information here: Thanks.

  • P2 supports both personal hotspot and USB tethering. It all depends on the telco. Some telco have plan / package that blocks tethering. Hence, check with your telco first to verify your plan / package supports tethering or not. Redmi Note 4 also supports both tethering.

  • It will be ok if you pick 3gb model. But always go for higher ram model for future.

  • Yes, it does support WiFi tethering, and it works great. I haven't tried USB tethering. So, I'm not sure about that.

  • Should I prefer 3gb ram , is there any lags with 3gb ram Kindly any one suggest.

  • I'm using Lenovo p2 for past 2 months and i met my expectations ...No doubt that p2 is better than redmi note 4.. Well, my experience says you should buy p2.. Massive battery last for 2 days.. Average (Heavy use 1 day easily) Super amoled display.. Simply Awesome Camera -Average but better than redmi note 4... Sound quality- bro im pretty sure you'll love the sound.. Seriously No heating issues... Dont think for a second.. Just go for it... I was confused like you that which one should i buy then my best friend bought note 4 and i bought p2 and now he wants to exchange his mobile with mine and also wants to pay 4000 so hope you got it... Thanks for reading...

  • Hello everyone, I have a question regarding this phone. Does the Lenovo P2 C72 variant with P2a42 global ROM support the mobile telephony frequencies used in India? I'm particularly interested in knowing if Airtel 4G and Reliance Jio SIM cards would work on this variant with the p2a42 global ROM installed. From the research I'd done, I seem to find that Airtel is operating in GSM 850 band, and Jio is operating in TD-LTE 2300 MHz band. Airtel also seems to be operating inTD-LTE2300 MHz band. Both of these frequency bands don't seem to be supported by the handset. I looked up the specifications of the frequency bands for Lenovo P2 on the aliexpress website, which seems to be selling the Lenovo P2 C72 variant with P2a42 global ROM. Thanks in advance for your help.

  • FYA...

  • Just like cars, manufacturing defects is very rare and obviously you have got the "lemon" unit. Ask for full refund or exchange for new unit since it is still below 7-day ownership.... Use your rights as a consumer....

  • Hey guys! can anyone help/guide me regarding the multitasking.I'm unable to use 2 apps at same time. My P2 is currently on 6.0

  • Just to contribute my 2 cents of experience with buying the Lenovo P2: Cons: - Slightly heavier than my old phone, but used to it already. - Camera quality acceptable, (but not quite as crystal as the likes of Samsung, Pixel etc.) - Only two type of phone styles - all black, or all gold - Note: I chose to buy the Chinese variant P2C72 in order to get the 64GB internal storage version. (We can insert a 256GB SD card to boost storage in any of the variants, but some programs need the internal storage available on the phone - As a result of getting the Chinese variant, the range of available 4G/LTE bands applicable to where I live (Australia) is slightly reduced. I will explain further down. Pros: - Despite being the Chinese variant, I have experienced very high 4G+ speeds in both city and rural areas of Melbourne Australia (>55 mb/s 4G download speed while inside a dense apartment block) - The seller on EBAY pre-loaded the P2C72 with P2a42-ROW firmware (non-China), and the auto-updates ensured the device is running and synchronised with Google and Google maps etc - High DPI super AMOLED - anything above this DPI (401) is difficult for the user to notice - Fast charging - Front mounted fingerprint reader - very Samsung reminiscent - Very Good quality speaker / loudspeaker - Highly responsive device, suitable for gaming - Fast processer - able to handle multiple apps easily - Excelent power saving switch on the side - kills all unwanted apps and puts device in to "extreme battery saver mode" - Excellent battery life - I am a frequent phone user and my old phone would last me less than 4 hours use. This phone lasts 12h plus usage - I accidentally dropped the phone from shoulder height on to stone tiles, without any phone cover or screen protector. A couple of tiny scratches on the side of the phone, and the phone works just as well as ever - Worth buying - a very good phone!! Regarding the Chinese variant - the Australian LTE bands this phone is missing include bands 28 and 7 (Optus & Telstra use these bands), and band 5 (Vodaphone). However, I found that 99% of the time I am connected to 4G+ with most or all bars of signal strength. I put this down to the Chinese variant supporting the important 4G bands for use in Australia; being bands 40, 3, and 1. As previously mentioned - excellent speed. I am on the road a lot, and found no problem in 4G network coverage across urban and a few country areas. (If you want to get all the Australian bands, just buy the P2a42 version.) The only contender that might come close to this device is the ASUS 553KL, Taiwan version, but that one has a higher price, and has a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The reviews I have read so far depict this to be one of the more outstanding types of Lenovo, and so far I have had no hanging, no lagging between tasks or during programs, no overheating or warmth, no problems to speak of so far. A good phone all round, and exactly what I was looking for.

  • I am currently using 3GB variant. If you can buy 4GB variant then it would be more future proof.

  • Good feedback man .. thanks

  • I m regretting...finger print scanner stopped working after two days suddenly! Don't buy this bullshit lenovo mobiles

  • Lenovo P2

  • Been using this phone for 4 months now and this my conclusion.. The pro and con for this devices Con : - Quite a heavy devise - Camera quality not great but acceptable - No update to oreo so far - Only two type of colors - Not type C usb charger - Dual hybrid Sim / mem card Pro: - Beautiful super amoled display - Can record 4k video - Fast charging - Accurate fingerprint scanner - Very Good quality speaker - Good responsive device suitable for most mid to high-end game - Scrolling web browsing almost the best, smooth - The Best power management now and battery life was amazing - Worth every penny!! So hope this will help you out there to get a little more information about this phone. I would recommend anyone to buy this device.. But if you more on camera then this device may not satisfy your needs but this device can take good picture but there's better out there. Overall 9/10 considering all aspects including the price.

  • P2

  • My fingerprint sensor just suddenly stop working any assistance

  • I have a p2c72 model. It doesn't available band 20. Can we activate this band?

  • There was a huge discount in flipkart for p2. That time it costs only 10k for 3gb ram

  • From which site did you ordered for P2. In Flipkart its about 13k

  • Yes you are right about the battery No phone will ever beat this battery beast I personally don't mind too much if a phone holds good for a whole day, and has quick charge to top it off at night You are also right about the pure Android on P2, but this phone ain't getting any more OS updates, so you will be stuck with Nougat The custom ROM scene is also not very good with P2, there are no bug-free ROMs out there

  • do i have to make factory reset to avoid any problem or no need for it ?

  • Super Like to that comment mate.. Would definitely and absolutely love that.. Will buy it on the day it is launched..

  • Dear Jonsnow, I got many phones, but P2's battery life makes it stick in my hand and no need to let go of it for too long for charging. BTW, it's system is already very "pure".

  • I've been going through the reviews of a lot of devices over the past few weeks, intending to replace my current smartphone. Loved reading about the P2. My only worry is that it's nearly a year since this phone was announced. Any information on whether P3 is getting released soon? Just a wish, Lenovo, if you're reading this. Lenovo P3 as an AndroidOne device with Oreo will be too good to resist.

  • W8 for x4 or go for g5s+. A1 is camera baised not balanced. Like honor 6x p2 n rn4

  • Thinking about trading in my P2 for Xiaomi A1 Your thoughts guys ?? The super amoled screen is better in P2, but is it really that apparent in day to day usage compared to LCD ? Hate letting go of the awesome battery in P2, but A1 will be lighter I guess, and lasts typically a day Though A1 seems to be missing fast charging which is a big con But P2 aint getting any more updates after N, and the custom ROM development scene is also not good for P2, whereas A1 will get direct updates from Google for next 2 years Also the camera on A1 is definitely far superior than P2 Or maybe I should wait for Moto X4, also supposed to come out with Android One from Google

  • Fast charging is not working

  • I am worried about my p2 its not working properly after reboot or shutdown fast charging start for only 30 minute and after 96% its again charging Normal i am using orignal charger and version is marshmallow

  • Dearest Lenovo. This smartdevice phablet with respect to complete GSMArena review even without WiFi direct and at least Bluetooth 4.2 + its auxiliaries( 2016 )is the best smartdevices made by Lenovo....Hopefully yours merger with Motorola gives better and the best devices on both brands on the most quality makers in markets....Good luck for betterment from nowadays....Justice Rights.Omid12Omidvar loves the best of any brands....

  • Always use back cover, which edges protect screen too and a cheap plastic or glass screen protector. You can also get it from Lenovo service center. Rs 350 INR.

  • Everything is amazingly good in this device accept Dolby Atmos sound enhancement.

  • My P2 dropped from my waist hight more than 5 times, and no scratch. I use a cheap 2$ gel cover. Yes the phone is heavy, but it's lighter than iPhone 7 plus It was heavy at the beginning, maybe cause i was using iPhone 6 which is very light. But now I really don't mind the weight. I don't mind anything in thia phone, cause this is a special phone, no manufacture have made such phone for 240$ (price in Saudi Arabia).

  • Mine dropped from 4 feet with impact.. flat on the marble floor.. aside from a sratch on the back.. nothing happened. Picked it up and started using it.. No issues till now.

  • Mine dropped frm 3 feets no crack.hehehhe

  • Don't waste ur money by buying Lenovo p2.....it is heavy in weight and has some touch issues and the screen cracks even by a 1feet fall........rather go for some better brands like Samsung or motorola...

  • go for p2

  • is p2 a nice choice what variant should i buy

  • 3gb varient or 4gb

  • is p2 a nice choice

  • I'm using Lenovo P2 since December 2016 till now. This phone got no problem at all so far, currently running with android nougat. Great for entertainment due to battery can last long a day for heavy using, not heat up also while playing a games. The phone (with soft TPU cover & w/o temp. glass) dropped to the floor many times because I fall a sleep while using it, but no damage found. Guys, where can I get tempered glass / screen protector anti oil & no buble at the edge for Lenovo P2? Harap maklong, sila tolong. Thanks.

  • Trust me, you won't regret buying Lenovo P2. Cheers

  • Those who are thinking about upgrading to latest Nougat firmware, go ahead and do it.. The phone is stable and the overall processing is very smooth.. The video stuttering issue has also been reduced to minimal.. Just go ahead and do it..
