  • After purchase,had battery drain problem. Lenovo changed the battery. After 8 months, signal problem. Lenovo changed the motherboard. After taht, volume problem. Lenovo fixed it.   • Lenovo's current ROM (ROW 062) 4.4.2 doesn't support OTG Cable. Change rom, flash a CM ROM and you'll be able to use it.

  • Lenovo is the worst phone i hv ever used..its nt evn been 1 yr bt d performance is horrible.. The fon cover srarted to peel off, camera clarity has diminished, the fon gets heated very soon, fon switch off very offen nd its not able to switch it on..its completely dead now..   • Hey Guys, Don't worry, just go to any local shop on mobile repairing centre, check your mobile, they will resolve this issue shortly within under 100-200 Rs. I hate this Lenovo service centre for harassing to the peoples.

  • Nanu by default the phone isnt rooted. Contacts screen getting stuck and everything can be solved by doing a factory reset. To do that : Go to settings- - Take backup and reset - - Choose factory reset. Your phone will reset everything and will be back.to how it was when you bought the phone. Please remember to remove the sim cards and sd card before factory reset or you could lose all your data.

  • Hey there guys,its been a while hasnt it. Anyway the problem i have been reading about for sometime is that you cant sign in with your google account. So there are 3 methods you can try, 2 for unrooted devices and 1 for rooted devices(higher success rate). 1) Go to apps,open play store and clear your data. Try signing in again. 2) Manually set the date and time of your phone.. 3) For rooted devices,download an app called local hosts editor. Open it. Tick your local host which will be 127.something. There will be # sign on top,press that. You should be able to sign in again. Note that,what i have mentioned is 3 different methods. The only one which worked for me was the third one. See you soon. Post your problems,i will try to solve as much as i can.

  • Awesome phone. Been using since more than a year and is in excellent conditions. Battery is awesome with a backup of 6-7h+ screen on per day. The only problem with stock ROM 4.4.2 is : insalling/using apps in SD Card, which is still not possible. Everything else is perfect.

  • Hi, Lenovo is originally Chinese company If we talk about S660, it is very good mobile for ruff & tuff use All is great, supper performance. But there are 2 drawbacks 1. Mobile performance decrease at high temperature atmosphere. 2. Tethering is poor.

Rooting has made my phone a lot better I would say.Moreover if your follow the correct procedure without rushing your device will not get bricked ....ok.... The device is pretty good in terms of specs,build ,battery & camera....I would say it is an awesome device !!!!!

  • Ok so the first part is over !!!! Great !!!!!! Now for doing a backup of your rom you need to follow this procedure : 1.) Install PdaNet driver ( Install .exe on windows & install apk of the same from play store).This is for the connection establishment. 2.) Download ADB driver and install it on pc. 3.) Download MTK Droid tools on pc & extract it.(I am using v2.5.3) 4.) Tick USB debugging in developers menu of the phone. 5.) Now run MTK Droid Tools as ADMINISTRATOR. 6.) Now connect your phone via USB Cable.It should recognize the device & the colour at bottom left box will change to green and info about phone will be displayed. 7.) Now click on ROOT option in MTK Droid tools. 8.) A super user request will pop up on your lenovo mobile.Click grant or allow. 9.) Now click on ' root,backup & recovery ' tab of MTK Droid tools. 10.) Click on backup.....wait 20-30 mins.... 11.) It will ask whether to packup....click on NO. 12.) The backup process is done. 13.) The backup will be located in MTK Droid tools >>Backup>>Lenovo S660... Done !!!!!!!! For restoring recovery or rom we need to use this backup & convert it for use in SP Flash Tools (Please use v3.13280 !!!)   • Just download kingsroot app latest version in your mobile. Just press root option.in 5 minutes root complete.check with root checker app.after that install titanium back up .backup all data & if wants to uninstall system apps just do it with titanium backup.and improve internal memory and ram.

  • Rebin i wouldnt support rooting because you could brick your phone . Personally i feel that kitkat is a lot better than lollipop coz lollipop still has a lot of bugs. Furthermore, if u flash a custom rom,the s660 might not be able to provide sufficient backing with its 1.4 quadcore mediatek processor.

  • Its been 7 months, battery is great even with 2 sim, the organisation of contacts and searching contacts is somehow inconvinient, no unatended reboots during working, no problems with using any app. However it is stuck at an update, trying to install and after reboot, an error pops and update is still avalable, which doesnt bother me really.If it works i dont update it. I would say its a good phone for the price range.

  • You cannot assign a ringtone to a contact which is in sim memory. If the contact is saved either in phone or email id,then,you will get an option to assign ringtones:)

  • You could try and remove and put your battery again. The phone will get switched off. If the button still doesnt work,you will have to go to the service centre :( But before that,try pressing the button again and again,see if that works.

  • Hello Friend, My lenovo S660 (one and half year now) showed some frequent battery drain,the service guys opened and checked that battery was working fine .The service center checked my battery and charger on my request and said it was working fine. However after a week or so my battery is working fantastic but my camera stopped working altogether ( not broken or repaired earlier). I have my doubts about a foul play - On visiting the service centre ,guy there checked IMEI number in data based and said it was not registered and got it done in their database.i had my doubts and checked my IMEI number its showing as A859,i am confused. IMEI on my original Lenovo mobile packing carries the same IMEI as appearing on the mobile. Did the guys at customer care do something ,any light on this would be great?

  • Razi lenovo doesnt have a music player because the company is still trying to come up . Its not stable like sony or apple. But for music players, i suggest u use n7 music player. By far the best player ive used :)

  • Its not an advantage in any way,its just that,sometimes the updation to kitkat may not have been carried out successfully. When the update is misses even a single file,it may lead to small problems like Rebin mentioned. It is only a possibility ofcourse. But then once u downgrade,u have the option of updating to kitkat properly,with a proper and consistent net connection. Hint: 1) do not pause ur download while updating. 2) make sure the net doesnt get cut off. :)

  • Ok main thing is using 3g does drain the battery fast. But before that take it to the service centre and get it downgraded to jellybean. Once that is done,update to kitkat once more. Fb is another app which drains battery too. I dont see any other problem :)

Anyway,down to business,as far as i can see,except for the overheating problem mentioned,everything else can be dealt with by just resetting :) Make sure your data is backed up and remove your sim cards and sd card before resetting.

I have been facing call drop issue, I went through various sites to find solution, since last 3 months I m not facing call drop issue. Only change I made is, using both sim slots, earlier I was using only one sim. 2. Sound output is not upto mark, but its OK... With good headphones sound will be improved. 3. Can play heavy games. I am playing games with continues internet access it works superb not much heating problem.. Don't play for hours hardware is not meant for that much use. Battery life is good. Camera quality is good. Nice phone in such a low price..

  • Shani u will have to reset your phone. Inorder to do that, enter recovery mode by pressing the volume up key + power button,in that take recovery mode and factory reset. But remember make sure you remove your sd card and sim card before you reset :)

  • Ok lets see what we can do: *APP TO SD can be enabled by going to Settings->Storage->Select default write disk as SD Card.Restart your phone and then go to Settings->Apps->Click on an app and there will be an option to move it. *ART is default runtime in Android Lollipop but is there in developer optons in Kitkat.Its only in the development phase and hence enabling it isn't recommended. It may speed up app loading times but the storage requirement will be more.Moreover some stock apps may force close.Please revert back will be my suggestion. Read this : *About storage in camera app I don't think you can change storage to SD card.Just move photos from internal to external using file manager once in a while.

  • Abhi before anything else,remove your sd card then factory reset and also change back to dalvik,coz there are some unfixed issues with ART. Once resetted change your default memory to sd card before installing any apps. Your phone will restart and furthermore all app data will be stored on your sd card or eg: whatsapp message backup. Plus in the apps setting you can move your apps to the sd card too.

  • HI , updated to Kitkat last night , at one go over 3g , took about 23mins .. to update and thn install . but after the update everything is fine but not getting the options to move the apps to sd card though , so can anyone suggest . also used the ART option instead of Dalvik from the developer option , but its consumed more space in the internal memory. also in the camera in JB was getting the option to choose the photos to be stored in the Phn , or sd card but that option is gone .. and the option to stop the shutter sound has come in its place ,,also if i choose to select sd card in the default memory option , phn has to restart and thn its not allowing to access teh phone memory and vice versa ,.   • To all those who are in doubt whether to upgrade to Kitkat 4.4.2 or not my suggestion would be : DEFINITELY UPGRADE !!!!! All you got to remember is : *Be on a stable,fast internet connection (3G,Wi-fi...) *If in case internet gets cut.....don't pause the download and resume later (Which caused a lot of problems for me later so BEWARE).Instead press cancel and start all over again.(Your patience will get pay off in the end) *Pausing the download isn't recommended.Do the update in one go. HAPPY UPDATING GUYS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Actually now a days Subway surfers lags a lot in most of the phones. You can watch several gaming videos in youtube. Also asphalt8 is sufferingbfrom this issue. I used to watch regular gaming videos of C4etech, geekyranjit, phonebunch, phone arena etc. & found most of the times SS &Asphalt 8stutters & lags in most of the devices. I have recently finished NOVA3 & surprisingly the phone handled it quite efficiently. What more i can expect from MT 6582M cpu & Mali 400 gpu? Its a fantastic phone with solid metallic build & elegant look.

  • It is a low phone. Unfortunately Lenovo doesn't offer any kind of (technical) support for S660. Bad service.

  • Yes to shut off the camera sound all u need to do is... Open camera and on the left bottom side theres a settings button,press it and at the last of the dropdown menu theres an option called "Shutter sound",just turn it off :)

  • I have no idea as to how to downgrade but what you said was the only option i found as well. Theres something called "update from adb" in the recovery menu,in which you issue commands from the pc. So i guess you could download the earlier firmware and just flash it. But the chances of bricking are very high unless you are an expert,so taking it to the service center is the best option. But let me correct you friend,kitkat is better for s660 than jellybean. Maybe something went wrong while you were updating :)

  • I am from India. I bought this phone in April 2015. The price was around 60% of MRP. I bought at 7900 Indian Ruppees and got a good back cover with stand. Before buying, I spent a good time in Lenovo's Indian official site for understanding their brands and phones. On that knowledge I understood S series is really a good series of lenovo. In the S series, I found Lenovo S660 is suitable for me. Why because 1. 3000mAh battery. So battery depriciation will be low and can use that for a long time. 2. 8MP Camera. So, most of the need is possible. 3. 8GB Internal memory. 4GB is sufficient. So 8GB is really good. 4. A dedicated micro SD card slot for memory upto 32GB. So some of the softwares datas we can put to memory card. That ensures smooth working of the phone memory. Which increases speed. 5. It is dual sim and both is ready with 3G Actual experience details what I felt below 1. Superb rear camera 2. Good screen resolution 3. Crisp and clear audio 4. High battery back up 5. Stylish. 6. The flash can work as a torch. And that provided sufficient light for me. 7. It is really fast. My botherations. 1. Front camera just 0.3MP. So for selfies it is not good. But no problem. Iam not a selfie maniac. And the chance for a video chat for me is also rare. Why Iam saying S660 is good is, "These much features with this price" If anybody want something more than S660 is the S860. The variations to S860 are 2GB RAM, Bigger display, better front camera. And 4000mAh battery 16GB internal. But no micro SD slot. At this time its MRP is 19999 and available at 12000. In S series several models are there. But I suggest these two models are really good. The above details are based on my feelings. And Iam not responsible for the actions based on that. Before buying check with the Lenovo official site. My English language is bad.   • Tried reset.But the issue still persists.The problem is when I open the game at first there seems to be some lag and if I play for some 10-15 mins after that lag is gone.But this isn't issue with all games;for other game there is micro stutter at 1 min intervals.I think its because os kitkat.Thanks for the help.

  • In that case i guess you could try resetting and still if lag is there its probably cos the phone doesnt support it. But subway surfers worked fine for me,so just try reset :)

  • Guys Please do not buy S660, i has lot of problems and my phone within warranty period had Motherboard problem, after rectifying that camera was not working, after which Flash was not working, all this took 36 days and still they have not resolved my issue. Phone was submitted on 20th April.. still they are fixing isues

  • Vicky,try removing both your sim cards and inserting them back again. It may not work at once, keep trying for a day atleast,patience is important. If it still doesnt work you'l have to take it to the service center coz dropping your phone may cause internal damage to your phone.

  • Hey guys,ive posted earlier on this site and after a lot of experimentation for the past 8 months,ive come to certain conclusions about the Lenovo S660.I will also post some tricks i figured out that will surely help.Furthermore,it will also save you a trip to the service center if your problem is minimal. First off,the specs : Dont expect a lot from this phone when you buy it,coz lets face it,even though it has 1gb RAM and runs on a 1.3gHz quadcore processor,the chipset is not snapdragon,which is a pity. The rear cam is quite good with 8mp cam capable of HD video recording as well. To get the best pics out of your cam,you need to know a trick. *****In your cam settings,theres an option called ISO which shows figures like--Auto-100-200-400-800-1600. So what you must know is that,when the the light in the background is less you should set the ISO to a higher figure say 800 or 1600,when the light is more,you use a smaller figure. Thats a way i found out to get good pics.***** Alright,next up is the update to kitkat. Trust me,when you get your phone,the battery life is going to be terrible therefore an update is compulsory. If problems as mentioned above occur,its due to a poor network connection. It is important that you properly update or you will have to go the service center to get your phone repaired. Its safe to update now as no new updates have been launched by lenovo so far. So once the update is completed,you need to check for these stuff: 1)Go to--settings 2)Go to--about phone--version infos 3)Android version should be 4.4.2 4)Baseband version should be S660.V62 5)Build number should be S660_ROW_S062 Thos things will prove that you have succesfully updated your phone. Now perform this trick to help you perform another trick in the future. In version infos keep tapping at "Build Number" until it shows :You are now a developer". Now leave this,il tell you what to do after some time. Now in order to update your phone properly,either use a 3g connection or a wifi(only if net is consistent and does not break off). I used 3g and it went well. Keypoint is your net should not get cut off at any cost. So after update,some good things you'll get are : The true power of a 3000Mah battery which will help you last out a day easily even while using facebook and whatsapp on 3g,a better interface than jellybean,a better dialer screen and an app called "one key lock" which when combined with lenovo's gesture feature, helps you to lock your phone without using the lock button. Now remember what i said about tapping the biul number option?If not scroll up read again. Now once you see "You are a developer" a new option opens up in your settings called "Developer Options". Open that and theres an option called "Select runtime" and in that by default it will be given as "Use dalvik". There will be another option called "Use ART". ART is another experimental runtime installed by google. When you select that,you will have to restart your phone and when it starts it will "Android is upgrading". Let it finish. So the good thing about using ART is that your phone's battery life improves again and take lesser time to charge as well. Thats what i could know,i just started using it yesterday so basically im still experimenting. From what i got from the net,there are chances of some apps crashing,however none of them have crashed for me yet. I'll give my list of apps at the end. *****IMPORTANT SECTION****COMMON PROBLEMS FACED***** (A)If your phone is acting weird like---too much data being used---apps crashing---camera not working properly--basically any problem that occurs with apps SOLUTION : reset your phone HOW TO DO IT -- Go to settings--take backup and reset--take factory data reset--complete. Make sure your sd card and sim cards are removed or else numbers will be lost from your sim cards as well as the data from your sd card. Dont worry restting your phone wont downgrade it back to jelly bean. (B)Commonest problem--FORGETTING YOUR LOCK PASSWORD Don't worry you dont have to worry about going to the service center. All you need to do is reset your phone. Well how do you reset your phone if you cant unlock it? Here's how : 1)switch off your phone 2)press VOLUME KEY UP and LOCK BUTTON till an option appears with: =>recovery =>fast boot =>normal 3)Use your buttons to get to recovery and select it. 4)Your phone will start and an android pic will open showing "NO COMMAND" 5)Press your lock button and another options menu will appear. 6)Select wipe data/factory reset option 7)Then select reboot system and voila your phones is back to normal,you will lose all the data ofcourse. Make sure that your sim cards and sd card is removed. And next time don't forget your password(I did and now im scared of putting a lock,lol ). (C)Sometimes your phone may start and play that lenovo restarting clip over and over again instead of switching on. Use the above mentioned step to reset,which is the only option. (D)In the resetting options menu, theres an option called "wipe cache partition". Select that to clear all cache from your phone. Do it once a week to keep your phone working normally without lags. These are the problems that ive face with my lenovo for the past 8 months and believe me i got so fed up with going to the service center i sat up an entire night finding solutions for them. Now i dont have to go anywhere. Those interested in rooting your phone,heres a reminder,once you update to kitkat it becomes a huge trouble to root and chance of bricking is higher. When its jellybean its easy to root with SUperSU app and chance of bricking is less and all you need to do is download custom ROM's. But i dont exactly know the procedure coz bad thing is you lose your warranty. Anyway these are the list of apps that i use : 1)Social networking apps: Facebook,whatsapp,imo,skype,hike,twitter,fb messenger and kik 2)Editing apps: Youcam perfect,picsart,tubemate,mp3 video convertor,mp3 cutter 3)Other apps: N7 music player,mx player,color note,news hunt,xender,pzizz,DIC-o french,Pocket MAL,Dubsmash 4)Games: Injustice 5)All system apps as well. Asphalt 8 will work fine for a week and then your phone will start to lag. Other games which work well are : Iron man 3,bad land,temple run(all),subway surfers,sniper shooter,transformers,batman arkham asylum..these are ones ive tried and all worked well. Some tips : 1)Don't recharge your phone unless its below 15% or else you could damage your battery. 2)Clear cache once a week and every 2 days open your file browser and clean trash as well. 3)Use your antivirus to block spam calls and scan your phone , but dont bother updating that app. 4)Try not to use use launchers and lockscreen apps coz it eats up your phone's RAM plus the battery life. If you want it really bad use apps like Apus launcher, Nova launcher and lockscreens like C lockscreen. 5)Do not use the camera in the sunlight, your battery will overheat and your phone will switch off on its own. 6)Use google drive effectively to back up your data. 7)Use sd cards of good companies like sandisk or sony. Otherwise it may overheat and your motherboard will have problems. 8)If by any chance you think your phone is overheating around the camera area take it to the service center at once. Over heating happens due to the motherboard's fault and therefore it must be changed at once. These are the problems ive faced and ive found solutions for all of them.If you've any doubts regarding this,just post it and il reply. If you are faced with a new problem which ive not mentioned,kindly share it.I hope this helps you guys. Do let me know if it was helpful.

  • I have been using this phone for past one year, it has a good battery that lasts for a full day, has a good rear camera. It has 8gb internal memory which is good. Cons: After android upgrade ur front camera won't work or will disappear. network disappears often and will have to restart to get signal. While making a call the screen goes dark and u have to turn on again to end call, it ll be more difficult if u have a screen lock. My screen got damaged and I thought of replacing it. I was shocked to hear 8000rs for screen while i found a same new phone on amazon for 7000rs. I won't recommend this to even my enemy, coz of the worst service network. Everyone points someone else when contacted.

  • The following things happened with me when I upgraded to kitkat: 1) External SD card restriction, that means app cannot write to SD card. Go google it for more explanation. 2) Lag. Switching apps and scrolling seems to lag the phone. But maybe its also happening with me. 3) Battery life is neither increased nor decreased. Its same as it was in Jellybean. 4) *My own problem with kitkat* Link2SD and lots of app that rely on sd card not works. I reflashed Jellybean back to my s660. And I am happy with it.   • Lol how the hell someone can install a pendrive? Use your common sense. Pendrive is a physical usb drive that you need to insert in your computer usb port. You can also insert a otg pendrive to your mobile usb port if your phone support otg. Next time before calling someone idiot, have a look at what you said.

  • This phone is a beast, every thing is very nice and good. Except for two things. 1) The proximity sensor will not work at times 2) Gps is unusable, totally useless. You can be connected to the satellites within a minute, but the accuracy is total crap. And it gets disconnected frequently. I'm a heavy Gps user, hence i'm totally disappointed with this phone Gps accuracy. I've googled and tried all fix from online, but it is all showing fix for fast connection. This phone have no issues connecting to the satellites, instead it is not accurate. Not accurate in a very large margin. Easily more than a kilometer at times. If you gonna use Gps allot, I will definitely suggest not to get his phone, it's miserable designed to use GPS.

  • Vibe UI for lenovo s660 is only for CN (china) firmware. So, its not availabe outside china, but ofcourse you can get it other way too.

  • Try to clean the app cache or try to do a factory reset. If still it does not works, then I am afraid you need to go back to jellybean and that need you to flash your phone and is risky if you do something wrong, your device will be bricked.

  • Its possible & my phone is currently running on 4.4.2 KitKat & I have moved most of the apps to SD card. First backup all your data to SD card then remove the SD card & reset the phone. After that download & install the ota update. Now insert the memory card & change the default storage option to sd card. Reboot the phone & go to application manager. Now you will be able to move most of the apps to SD card.

  • The rear camera is very good if you know how to take good snaps. The autofocus works fine. Surprisingly the flash is very powerful. You can use camera 360 app for better results also there are various apps which can help you to enhance the camera result. 1080 P videos are perfect in daylight condition but in low light it struggles a bit. Overall a decent rear camera but the front camera is the weakest part of s660 but for Skype its enough. After using it for 8-9 months I can say that its one of the best handset in 10-12k range till now.

  • Before installing latest firmware do a factory reset then dwnld the firmware 062.It solved the problem.

  • Check APN settings. Choose the GSM/WCDMA or GSM Mode & see the changes. If not resolved than try to set the APN manually.

  • Hi guys, My 1month plus experience, from using Lenovo S660. Unfortunately, I must have bought a China set, coz I don't have OTA nor can update my firmware :-( Pros -Beautiful screen resolution, hd videos are also handled very well. -Sunlight visiblity, good aswell, very bright screen. -And screen doesn't get contrasted or greyed out when you tilt the phone. -Battery in this phone is a blady beast. Normal usage, 3g whatsapp, camera, browsing, will last easily for 3days. -So far haven't lagged on any apps i've used. -Camera is decent, there's noise in the pictures, come on, for this price, i wouldn't complain. Cons -Gps is quite bad, even after waiting very long for connection. It's gets disconnected while traveling, unlike my previous Samsung. I have to say the gps is quite poor. -Screen doesn't come back during a call, some issue with the proximity sensor i believe. It blacks out when i place the phone on my cheeks. but doesn't come back when I want to end the call. Need to wait or mess with the unlock button. Otherwise, this is a wonderful phone, not to big nor too small. Perfect phone for daily usage.

It could play 720p and also 1080p,tested with some movies such as Iron Man 3,Need For Speed,the X-Men trilogy.   • Try opening the camera after restarting... If the problem persists, try claering the cache of gallery app by going to settings->apps->all apps->gallery->clear cache. I hope this works.

I updated my phone to the latest firmware (63mb update) it fixed some of the software bugs.. I normally dont use lenovo's security app because with that app enabled, all the social media messages appear late on my phone. So I disabled it. So far no problems. Im getting about 1 day of backup with heavy usage, 1.5- 2 days with normal usage. Im pretty happy with this phone.. I recommend everyone to update their phone regularly for the phone to perform stable and for better back up.. 😉

  • Guys... I got a firmware update for my phone today morning. These are my initial findings after the update: 1. I had a problem with google keep app, whenever i keep a reminder, the phone will just restart at the time the reminder is scheduled for.. This problem is sorted now. 2. The loud speaker used to crack a little bit when playing music, now it is solved.. But the loudness of the speaker has gone down a little bit. 3. New ringtones. 4. Touch sensitivity has improved 5. Battery drains a little bit faster than it used to before the update.. 6. The recent app list on my phone was not showing the very recently used app, instead it used to show me the app that I used 6-8 hours ago first and then if I long press the option key again,, it wil show the recently used apps.. This was annoying because i had to long press the option key twice to switch between the recently used apps.. This problem is sorted now. Thanks a lot lenovo! These are my findings as of now.. I will keep posting if I find anything new again.. Thanks a lot lenovo for supporting this beauty.. Love this phone!

  • this is an otherwise great phone with value for money, but you will experience major compatibility issues with apps, most big games are not compatible for this phone, those that are, run very well, games like asphalt 8, modern combat 4, batman, run very well without any lag, but it is impossible to run newer games like modern combat 5, assassins creed pirates, etc. dont expect any bug fixes or troubleshooting because you wont get any. also, it is Extremely difficult to root this phone. this phone has minor hardware bugs, like screen randomly turning on, weak wifi connectivity and bluetooth bugs. best way to fix this phone and all its problems would be to root it and install a custom rom.

  • There's no update for Kitkat anymore. Not sure if they removed OTA update for Kitkat. But I don't see any kind of update available. Max is 4.2.2. Maybe they are planning to update it straight to Lollipop? Let's see. I'm from India by the way.

  • Update is available since last Month..... u will have 3 Software updates.... the third Update for around 588 MB is the Update to kitkat.... but if you have not updated to kitkat i suggest not to update bcos it affects the wifi connectivity.... ur wifi will get cut automatically in 20-25 mins max and u will have to switch off and switch on the wifi again from ur phone settings.... latest update is for 4.4.2 only and we still have not received the update for 4.4.4.

  • Yes going on s660 can be updated.Go to settings to about phone to system updates.Check and itl show updates.Remember the update is in 3 parts,57mb 1st update,agn same amount 2nd update and final uodate is around 511mb.Make sure u hav a good net connection as well.Incase something goes wrong take it to the nearest service center theyl update for you.One more thing,do backup all your data before updating.Oh and sorry for the late reply,i was a bit busy :)

  • it has very good battery life, you can upgrade ur handset to android kit-Kat also, but some time my contacts are hidden up to 5-6 days that really a headache, and 8MP primary camera it's not provided you that much clarity that samsung and sony provides.....disappointed Lenovo needs to work on camera features.

  • Truth be told,i love this phone really...i think the secret to excellent performance is not to do a lot of hardcore things on it that will eat away the ram fast,lets face it,it doesnt run on a snapdragon processor..but overall its a simply great phone,those who have doubts regarding upgrade to kitkat and music players do ask il try to solve it cause ive overcome those problems...i myself hav 2 doubts.. 1) will the usage of launchers make your phone hang up? 2) where is the downloads folder?   • just to add something from my expirience if you follow link "pc method, update lenovo s660 with android kitkat s660_s058 official release" you should follow evrything but in paragraf- 4.back to flash tool, click on scatter-loading button and point it to target_bin/mt6582_android_scatter.txt this will automatically load all necessary files to flash tool. leave boot mode to download only and after finish all press download button or ctrl+ d .in my case it didn`t work but when in drop meny i selected update firmwere phone started to download and now everything is ok. this is kitkat 442 international version and google play works. i used to have some chines veersin f kitkat with vibeui 2.0 which is trash

  • yes sanal you are absolutely correct. lenovo is making very good handsets & silently capturing the indian market. i think people are going for samsung mobiles because of their after sale service support & lenovo should seriously think about this issue. if you want to stay long in india you have to be serious about this. If you go to their facebook page you will find most of the customers are complaining about poor after sales service from HCL which is the only service provider of lenovo mobiles in India. I phones are always heavily overpriced & it has became a status symbol for some people who don't even know how to explore most of the features of iphone. Technology is constantly changing & now a days it has became more rapid & so investing such a large amount ( 50000-60000) on a mobile phone for doing basic things i don't think its a wise thing to do so. Now coming to S660 , undoubtedly its a brilliant piece of technology in a affordable price. i am using it for last 5 months & the overall experience is quite satisfactory till now. the build quality, look, battery backup, rear camera performance, display & overall performance is just brilliant. Apart from some minor cons the device is too good for day to day usage. .

  • Try download Google Installer (apk file). Install this program and open it. Follow to download next google program after that. :-)

  • After KK update and factory reset; go to "storage" in setting, change the default data disk to External memory card. the phone will ask to reboot. reboot it.. and you get the option of moving the apps to external disk. but mind you, all the apps (particularly the inbuilt aaps) will not give the options to move. only downloaded apps you can move.

  • @ AD & Piku. actually now a days i am exploring the camera of my S660 & enjoying photography. the camera performance is really brilliant. you can check some of them in my fb posts. beside the regular camera app. i am using an app. called CAMERA 360 for capturing & editing my photos. i am sharing this thing because i have seen lots of comments about poor camera performance.

Their phone runs CN version (chinese version of firmware), while our phone runs ROW version which is an international firmware. Vibe UI is not yet available for ROW firmware. Don't expect it to change any time soon. Cause the CN firmware has trouble connecting with the play store.

  • I have a simple solution for that.even before the kitkat update. 1. Go to file browser 2. Open internal memory 3. Select the files or folders you want to transfer. 4.cut copy them 5. Open external memory 6.paste wherever you want to transfer it. It works fine .

  • After 2 days updated to kitkat i found many apps lagged when scrolling down like fb, wechat etc. Not all but most of them lagged. Hope lenovo fix it.

  • i think the upgrade fixes the auto unlock that's been a nuisance before. so far with the upgrade,,no auto unlock with my phone..i have the impression also that the battery performance improves along with the update.

  • Mine no problem....both sim working fine with sim 1 data on..both sim can receive call without any problem...now already updated to kitkat no problem detect for now...batttery life oso ok like b4, alomost 2 days with moderate usage with data on plus wifi...i think ur phone got problem at sim slot...go and claim the warranty..

I considered buying asus zenfone 5 also, but dropped that idea because its too bulky for me. But s660 feels perfect in hand. Very stylish design. Plus, I got a protective case cover with the phone it's called "magic cover" it has a supporting stand at its back and it looks cool on the phone. It protects the phone very well. And it has a rubberized Matt finish. I love it. Anyone confused whether to buy it or not, don't hesitate. Grab one soon. Nice built quality. Nice audio output when using headphones. But phones loud speaker sucks though.
