Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 8.0 - User Reviews

  • This tab is the WORST tech I have ever had, Never buy it!! I used this tab for nearly 2 years, and this the worst tab, dumb Lenovo. Broke at least 4 of these out of frustration. 1) Performance: Its terrible, lags everywhere and everyone, opening up a app will take you nearly 5-to the max 7.7secs which is unbearable 2) Speed: Damn slow, download and uploading, browsing, even typing and not to forget; gaming 3) Battery-life: Well surprisingly, I would only give a good 5 🌟 at this!! It will last you a full day without recharge, even if you heavy gaming(although it's impossible), watching movies, calling, or browsing 4) Connections: It is OK, it doesn't support 5G, and more horrible than my iPhone 5S at connecting to Wi-Fi or data connectivity strength at 4G 5) Screen(resolution): Good, I watched plenty of movies in this and it's excellent!! Maybe a 4 🌟 BCS you can't be seeing a movie in the day, which I can comfortably do on my iPhone 5S 6) Audio: * I would seriously be surprised how they would provide such a disastrous Tablet with Exceptional speakers and headphone audio, phenomenally stupid 7) Strength: The most weakest tab I have ever dealt and used, so brittle that a accidental drop from my elbow and it's spider-web crack on the screen, crap 8) Camera: Nope!! Not good, only 8mp and a rotating one? Never ever. I broke all 4 tablets and cameras just by twisting it a few times, and it's broken off easily 9) Gaming: *PLEASE DON'T BUY THIS TAB!!!! IT WILL MURDER YOU TO DEATH!!! I have played Nova Legacy, Plants Vs Zombies, Clash-Of-Clans, Temple-Run, Modern-combat 5|Blackout and I have broken every tab only from playing all these games. It's lags like Hell!! It's connectivity strength is -6 🌟 rating!!! Its heats up and shuts down everything evertime!!! Graphics will spoil your eyes man, it's terrific!! Well, that's you have it!!! A review from a person using this tab for 2 years!! The most trustworthy review you can ever find in the world!!! Lenovo is the worst company to buy from!!! If you want to save your precious money/time/ health, then please Don't buy this tab, I am telling for your sake, I had suffered enough and more with this tab and I don't want you guys to suffer like me.....

  • Maybe the best thing you can buy for watching videos and listening to music for these money. Everything else in the device is RETARDED - the chipset, the performance - even in browisng, not to mention gaming, the memory is small too. The battery life and the camera aren't so good either. At least it has a 6.0 update which I advise you to enable. If you are not a guy who ONLY watches videos and listens to music you mustn't buy it.

  • Yes it supports otg N good for web browsing It plays youtube at 30 fps no frame drops upto 720p Supports keyboard n mouse use a otg with usb hub Don't use memory card for apps there is some problem regarding mmc as it randomly malfunctions in tab(i have a Samsung evo card n its a class 10 card i used in camera so card is good) Also don't game on it Can read manga tho N there r 2 versions available 1gb n 2gb random acess memory Msm 8909 chipset Don't jailbreak since its not worth the effort (i did it very very few improvements n more battery drain n other random errors pop time to tine) Those who haven't purchased this please do yourself a favour n stay away from lenovo yoga tab 3 8m or yt3850m. N welcome =)

  • I have the Lenovo YT3 850M 8 inch 16GB 2GB w/ 4G variety with Android Marshmallow for only USD190 ;-) Sadly, it's the end of the line for this model, NO MORE FW UPDATES ! I checked with Lenovo website. I guess I might as well disable FWUpdateOTA to save battery. The latest update was still March 1, 2017 so I downloaded Dr. Web and subscribed to Dr. Web Security Space. It came with Qualcomm Processor MSM8909. I also enabled Work Profile via Island by Oasis Feng (Greenify) so it acts like a sandbox where I could run questionable apps like Social Media apps. I even have TWO VPNs enabled, in both Personal partition where everything is and Work partition (my sandbox where I hide/freeze/run apps). As it is now, this tablet went beyond my expectations. I also have ADM app so downloading is fast (just keep your Internal Storage free !!!). It's great and I'm loving using it to read books, watch Fox+, HBO Go, etc., It has Dolby app as a System app, so music gets louder. It has App Ops in Device Settings/Security. Altogether taken, a winner as it is. *** For Regular Users of Android Devices (or as the saying goes... ) ― "You Only Root When OTA FW Updates Stop Coming.". This device ceased having OTA updates after 3.1.2017, is therefore a strong candidate for rooting to further enhance capability, keep abreast with the ever dynamic Android system, learn and be amazed how far your Android device can go. Only these Android devices, can in fact be compared to the Rover that's still ticking and humming in that desolate terrain in Mars, still transmitting images and sending data. The Rover that we thought we'd see last moving away and supposedly done, has even gotten a slight jolt of software update to improve its communication. Maybe even more updates...

  • Just to say that the tablet is also offered with 2GB RAM.

  • I also want yo buy for same can you suggest if you had buy

  • You can use it for calling, by using an internet phone number through Talkatone or 2nd line

  • For Youtube and Media consumption you won't have any kind of lag or framedrops since that would be very light use. but, if you would watch a 4k video probably it would lag, for 720p and 1080p. you won't have any problems at all.

  • Pros: -Amazing design and build quality -Huge battery -Pretty decent audio -The ability to use the rotating stand is really great Cons: -Tiny amount of RAM -Only HD res. wich makes the screen quality bad -It never gets any updates -Camera is pretty bad, I have a phone that costs half the price and takes MUCH better pics -The metal stand makes it heavy and uncomfortable to hold -Only 16GBs storage (and you get to use much less,6 or 8 GBs) If you care about design and you want a tablet for light use (chat,FB,YT,browsing) it's worth buying. If you need a fast device for gaming, movies, multi-task and good screen and storage forget about this tablet.

  • After last update sd card function not working properly.

  • i love my lenovo tab3 8 it works so good i recommend it for u.it has everything u need.

  • Hi I just wonder have anyone update to the latest firmware? Coz I did updated mine like a week ago now it is giving me alot of problem like it freezes all the time.

  • Hi, can I ask some question? I am planing to buy a tablet, only for movie and YouTube. my only concern is, do this tablet drop in frame rate if watch movie? How about daily usage like browsing? Typing lag?

  • That happened to me. Couldnt find how to move apps to sd card. What i had found out is when i click on sd it will say format internal and then i went to apps and was able to move them to sd card. I downloaded a file manager and was able to save images videos etc to sd card.

  • Does its otg support

  • Jio works on Volte and this tab supports only LTE

  • Yes it supports Voice calling non Jio sim

  • Yes this has Voice calling feature

  • No,it does not support calling.Although in its features,it is written that it is a calling tab and it is LTE,but we cannot call using it.Because, when I inserted Jio Sim in it and then I tried to make a call through it,then after dialling the number,it just showed calling and then the call disconnected. Then after I downloaded and installed the 'Jio 4G Voice' app, only after that I could make a call.

  • I have 2 questions. First does it have calling feature and second does it support all Android apps like what's app and banking affairs plus video course type apps made by coaching institutes.

  • Yes it Spprts Bro

  • No

  • Getting difficulty in APN settings & 4 g connectivity

  • Is this yoga 3 best for gaming

  • I have the 10" version and I have to admit that this is a very basic device. The only good thing about it is that the battery life is gorgeous!

  • Does anyone have any Idea on how to enable the anypen feature of this tablet?

  • how to use anypen technology

  • Mine has a soft location button to turn on just cell phones w/gps

  • The 2 GB 4G LTE variant is now available at Flipkart @15k.

  • Yes it does have GPS, it also has an ambient light sensor, it also comes with 2GB Ram version, it can be upgraded from Lollipop 5.1 to Mashmellow 6.0.1

  • Does this tablet have GPS or doesn't it? The slot is blank on the specs matrix.

  • Install move to SD card app and then you can move some of the applications to SD card. (Remember all the application can not be moved to SD card like Whatsapp and Facebook)

  • Does this tab support 1080p video playback?

  • my lenovo tab3 get marshmallow this year, its a great tablet with a great battery

  • What are the actual screen dimensions? Like length and width of visible screen?

  • yes me too.... Dear Sir/Mam,Gsmarena Team, pl Can you put some reviews specs about Lenovo YOGA Tab 3 10.1, LTE Specs. thanks. dd

  • i have the 8 inch one, and not facing any problems. Sometimes gets lost in file transfers from Windows, but other than that everything's ok :D

  • It's a bit slow with newer applications but great output (video/audio, handwriting etc.) and GREAT for Youtube but, Facebook-ing is pretty slow, so if you want for that only, get a phone instead. Good camera in daylight. Peace!

  • Dear Sir/Mam,Gsmarena Team, pl Can you put some reviews specs about Lenovo YOGA Tab 3 10.1, LTE Specs. thanks. dd

  • Dear Sir/Mam,Gsmarena Team, Can you put some reviews specs about Lenovo YOGA Tab 3 10.1, LTE Specs. thanks. Vathika..

  • I have Yoga Tab 3 10.1,lollipop.Can i upgrade lollipop to official (marshmallow) android 6.

  • use app manager 3, then you can transfer all the transferable apps from internal memory to external memory. cheers!!!

  • I have the 2 gig LTE version YT3 850M . I have upgraded to Android 6.0.1. II have owned a faster Phone (Samsung galaxy s4) but i have no complaints about the speed. I am using a SIM from Turkcell with no problem and a sim from Georgia's magti, 4g speed , no problem. My display is High Def, but not 4k. but I wasn't looking for 4k. My only complaint, is that I am accustomed to having top drawer cameras. (Galaxy, Lumia) and this camera is mediocre at best . but the price $250 US. I have no complaints. I don't have a screen rotation problem. Some apps like Instagram, don't rotate. but is that the app or the OS? I cannot remember if Instagram rotated before I upgraded. I am pretty happy with my Yoga 3 8

  • It is a good tab but why mu downloaded apps are going in internal memory i have 16 gb memory card but still it is going in internal storage

  • It is a good tab but why mu downloaded apps are going in internal memory i have 16 gb memory card but still it is going in internal storage

  • Been using it for the last 6 months, the 10" version coupled with the 212 processor and 1GB RAM. Well minor issues so far. Yes it has a sluggish processor and porr RAM back up to help it, so you might want to consider before which type of usage you want ot give. Fine if videos and mainstream multimedia, but insufficient for gaming and productivity. I admit I was a little suprised after the MM update, but so far is running great. A little tip to run it faster. Disable and uninstall every unnacessary app, best if you can get rid of all. BE sure you uninstall Chrome and Web app view. Then get the programmer settting on and reduce the animations sclae to 0.5x. It should improve the perfomance.

  • They are the most irresponsible information technologies company I have ever seen!!! To begin with, it is even impossible to reach your customer support - that I have logged in your web site numerous times in the last half an hour, still I can execute no operations on your "connected" website, nothing but verifying my account again and again in vain!!! And, how dare, how comes, your Yoga Tab III system upgrade, can prevent me from accessing my device unless I can verify my google account? Even phones have an emergency call option without sim card, let alone google account verification, then why I have to present an account to simply literally turn on the laptop??? What if I want to use another account? What if my account was stolen? What if I have no access to verification for a technical reason, as if it was the case for me? Then shall I throw my tablet to the recycle bin? Take it to service because it was "updated" and now does not let the owner get in??? How dare you can disable me turning on my laptop and accessing home screen while every piece of applications and personal information were already deleted, on which terms????? It is my choice to decide whether I want to setup same google account after update, not yours, and again it is my choice to use the tablet with or without a google account let it be on limited terms, not yours!!!! Then, at the end, it would be a relief if you had saved user data previously saved on my tablet since asking my google account verification so keenly... but nope. You do fail, and I do believe it is a breach of law to interfere my account preferences on my tablet. I would sue you if I was not overseas for a while for business.

  • Got the tab(2gb version) before a week, it's simply awesome. And also Now I'm in safer side , by sticking with lollipop OS😝😝......

  • even my tab is also not auto rotating sick of this. Can anybody able to fixs it ...Please reply

  • Looks like i shouldn't have updated to version 6 ; i am stuck in landscape mode until an application changes it to portrait, in which case it stays portrait. also noticed that the stand function is also not working properly and when i open the lenovo app on main screen it shows the specs for the 10 inch tab , lenovo should really look into this.

  • Same happened to me ........my screen is also not auto rotating..........after the latest update to Android marshmallow

  • I am too facing the same problem.......my screen is not auto rotating after when I updated my tab yoga tab 3 toandroid marshmallow

  • Screen not rotating after 6.0.1 update in 2gb version

  • Be happy....still cant get this in RSA!!! 10" But not 8" Tried importing and to no avail.

  • Does it support 4G

  • Only flipkart is selling 2 gb ram model for 15.5 k

  • Just got this but the specs is different. Snapdragon 212 and 2gb although the store I bought from was saying this has 1Gb. I checked the back of the box it also says 2gb Ram and i checked using Cpu-z and it says 2gb.

  • My Lenovo Yoga Tab 3 10inch is slow. Add to that, it keeps rebooting at short intervals. When I set a wallpaper, after about a minute, the screen goes off while I am using it and the device comes back on with the default screen saver in landscape mode only. And this repeats itself over and over again. Very frustrating. I have a video recording of this issue. I wonder where I can post it here.

  • No NFC

  • When I got the Tab, it was running Android 5.1.0. It asked for four updates, one after the other. It is now 5.1.1. and stable. Dont know about Android 6.0, when or if it will be available.

  • I had bought Yoga Tab 3 8.0 4G around a week back. When I switched it on it updated itself four times. Each times restarting to apply the update and checking again. I inserted the Jio sim and immediately got a signal. I could also use data connection right off the bat. The problem started when I tried to use the Jio voice app. The app kept crashing and restarting. So I uninstalled it. I again installed it and tried to use it. The same thing happened again. So I did a factory reset. Then I tried reinstalling the voice app and using it. This time it worked. Now it is working perfectly. Initially I had hanging problems also, which went away after a factory reset. The main thing is to first update the tablet with all the updates that it wanted, then do a factory reset. Factory reset does not remove the updates (since it is on the OS level). Hope this will work for you.

  • Poor performance Poor video quality slow like a turtle cannot work properly with JIO sim Its a disgrace

  • Yes

  • OS upgrade options available?

  • NFC option is available?

  • Are otg cable supported

  • Aya hard disk work on it

  • Yes you can se an external hard disk with this tab

  • It has sim Good cellular connection 4g Good job lenovo

  • Been using for about a year and very satisfied. Be a smart buyer and do research first before buying this tablet since lenovo position this tablet for media usage such as watching movie, book reader, and casual browsing, thus the main selling point of this tablet is the battery. Hardware wise is acceptable, there is noticeable lag with snappy200 + 1gb ram, 1280x800 will do just fine, decent camera, and bit heavy on the side. But you get long battery life which is must for me, yoga stand/tilt/hold/hang mode really useful, good speaker + dolby atmos, it does have lte version, good build quality, and vanilla android (it doesnt even have file manager).

  • i was using this tab for less than two months until the camera got crazy! the pictures remains flipped even if the camera is facing outward which should only happen when the camera is facing the user for selfies,, i was impressed until this happened gonna return this to the shop

  • can external hard disc works with tab

  • Is it good for using it to trade in forex/stock purpose

  • Only 1 GB RAM????? Why don't they release a tablet with a good spec with this smaller size as well? The pervious generation of it is much better.

  • They do. You just won't get one for under $200

  • Bought the 10" version.... If you´re after a multimedia tablet, and you want something functional, pratical , good image and sound this the tablet for you. You´be amazed how smooth stock android can go whith little resources....no bloatware or pre-installed apps.....Only the Google based ones which you can disable... 100% recomended

  • I wanted to buy it?

  • DON'T BUY IT!!!!!! I guess it's slowest machine which I have ever had... Regret that I didn't took Samsung :(

  • covers all the basic tasks. It´s stock Android and it runs smoothly. If you´re a heavy gamer or very demaing than go for the PRO version

  • Yes, You can use it for reading for many hours. Didn't try how long but 6+ hours for sure. I watch movies during 3-4 hour flights and battery is still more than 50%.

  • it'll last you 8 hours lol. Use it everyday in school, a bit underpowered but great for simple tasks.

  • Can somebody tell me if its suitable for long hour PDF reading

  • 3.5 audio jack is enable. but the audio jack cable is not available

  • Using a yoga tab 2 pro 10' with 2 GB RAM for over a year and it's never disappointed.. Except the lenovo ui

  • U can install Nova launcher if u don't like Lenovo UI...

  • Yup, u are right.. Shouldn't get any Android device with only 1g ram. I'm using Yoga tablet 2 8 inch for more than a year now. So far, no problem & I'm happy with it..

  • it has 2gb ram ..it will not crash

  • I have to tell you that I bought this tablet one month ago and I'm a disappointed. I should have done my homework more thoroughly! I love the speakers with the Dolby Atmos sound. I love the multimode way to hold the tablet as well. What disappoints me is the tablets performance and the Lenovo UI. The performance is, I guess, on par with lower priced tablets. The processor is sub par and there is not enough memory so, the tablet does not run very smoothly. I tried to find the Yoga Tab 2 8.0 but, couldn't. I would have been much happier with a Intel processor than the very under powered Qualcom processor. Another thing. If a tablet does not come with at least 2GB of Ram, it ain't worth it. I can live with the 1280x800 pixel display but, the camera is wack!

  • I did switch from asus zenpad s to this one and I don't even look back. Of course the specs are way down, but for people looking basic tablet just for browsing and watching movie this is a beast!, I manage to squeeze around 15 hours just watching movie with brightness set to 33%. For comparison zenpad s with around same settings can only hold around 6 hours (and it also doesn't have lte version)

  • Although its downgrade from yoga tab 2, Lenovo putting this tablet into entry level segment starting @$169-199 (compare to yoga tab 2 @$239-269) IMO it's great for casual use like browsing and watching movie, lenovo cut down the hardware to maximize battery life and cut down the cost.

  • Where is Yoga Tab 3 Pro ???

  • Snapdragon 212 ?

  • mmm

  • Love this tablet

  • I bought two of these Christmas 2015, the 8" and the 10". It is very tactile and the high quality kick stand is far more useful and useable than I imagined. It feels solid and looks amazing. I bought ours from Curry's at £119 and £139 respectively. By far the best feature is the imense battery life. It never seems to run out of juice and I use mine all the time from reading the papers to playing Football Manager. You can use any item to touch the screen such as a pencil or knitting needle! I would highly recommend this tablet.

  • I have this Yoga tablet. Only 1gb of RAM .

  • This is not true. This tablet has 2GB RAM

  • it has a persisting browsers, yahoo mail app, watsup and facebook app glitches as application shut down all of a sudden.

  • Im using this device since a month and it has 4g with micro sim card. I have htc m9+ also but if if you ask what you love tha most tha answer will be lenovo yoga3 even it is three time cheaper than my m9+. Camera is very good comparing other tablets with same price range. And design is amazing.everyone getting attracted to this design. Best best best thing is battery! Yeah its lasting all theday with a heavy use. Sound quality is superb cos its dolby atomos Only the bad thing i see is the low processing power They shuld improve the ram and processor little bit. But you can manage it. First to lenovo but fully satisfied. Recommend for anyone (Y) :)

  • Snapdragon 210 and 1 GB of RAM!? When will lenovo start making 2014-2016 tablets, 2160?

  • guys I just bought the device and it has calling function with micro sim card however I didn't like the idea of not having Radio built in.
