Dear Mukesh, I am also using this model since september 2004. However, battery is its weakest link. Talk time was only 15 mins (now it is less than 5 mins) & stby time 60Hrs (now it is 24 Hrs). I changed the LCD display (during 2009)once & LG service centre charged a hefty Rs. 710/- (Sri Vayu Communications, Tarnaka, Hyderabad 93909 11555). The Grey Scale LCD display shall not cost more than Rs. 80 to 100/-. If I think of replacing the Battery, they may charge Rs. 1150/-, equivalent to the price of a new one.

lg1500 the worst phone i have evr had. problems since day one. no help at all from cingular wireless!! they will do anything to stick you with this phone. even after i returned it under warranty after 9 months because no one could hear me. they had the nerve to charge me for the phone!!! do not use cingular wiress people. then they send me the same problematic phone.

It is one excellent phone I do like it and use it. I have a complain against the shope from which I had purchased it. When it was lunched I had purchased it there was a free T-shirt free with this gift. The sales man promised me to give that one latter but denied after wards. Its' not a great thing. But you should keep your promises. May be the cost is included there. Will you take action against the USHA Agencies, Sikar, Rajasthan? Please remind them this is against LG's promotional activities. May be I shall not turn of to this shop again but that action is also reminding a bitter moment for LG goods. Thank you

Hi, I read the above posts and found that its just not that my LG G1500 has a problem of getting switched off automatically. It seems to be a bug in the software they use. I experienced if you store the contacts in phone memory and not on SIM the problem almost reduces to zerp. Earlier my phone use to get switch atleast one in three days. Then I changed the memory to phone and it has not switched off for past 15 days.

I bought this phone maybe about 7 months ago. Overall im very dissapointed. People are always telling me they hear an echo when they are talking to me on it and the ringtones are crap. When im halfway through writing a SMS my phone will just turn off by its self. Im not happy with this phone. Last week I bought LG G1500, and several times the phone does not respond. The dealer says its problem with the SIM card, but the service provider says its problem with handset. I've never used a worse phone than LG G1500. Honestly, the programming could have been better! I don't want to go into details but briefly, the phonebook searching, and the message writing facilities are seriously wanting. I hope these errors have been corrected in other brands and the G1500 will go to extinction soon.

This phone is a joke. I used to have a Nokia 3210 I want it back except for the fact its cactus. All I want to do is make and receive calls. I don't care about ring tones, alarms, SMS or any of that BS; just want to make and receive calls. Right now my phone is on, but no one can call me and I can't make calls. My network is fine. Why all of a sudden can't I make or receive calls. I could reset the phone settings (in case something got changed by itself) but it's asking me for a security code and bugger me if it just won't accept the same security code it accepts eveywhere else. Arrrrgggh! Oh, LG, why is making a call to someone in the phone directory the 4TH OPTION on the list??!! Holy moly. I usually want to edit, delete or copy someone in my address book, before I want to call them. You got the most common use case covered.... :-( Doh! I had a colleague come over from the US (to Australia) a few weeks ago, and he rented an LG G1500 by pure coincidence. Funny he was telling me how unituitive and cumbersome the phone he rented was and then I realised pretty quickly he'd rented the same phone model as me! My advice. Stick to fridges and TV's LG. Phones ain't your bag.

All I do agree with the comments provided by others (both pros and cons). LG G1500 Model is good but the only bad thing about it is does not have a provision to download Ringtones (both mono and poly). Could some body let me know if they could succeed in downloading the RingTunes by other means? Thanks.

i got mine wit vodaphone and it said it had 5 games and 16 ringtones but i only found 3 games and 15 ringtones, any 1 else get a problem sometimes when they are typing a sms and the cursor just goes any where even up near the charachter count. Also found that back button in the internet doesn't work. If considoring, buying this phone DON'T. Although i did get an extra battery and handsfree kit from LG for complaining about the game and ringtones(or the lack of some:) that is a must try. p.s DO NOT buy this phone its crap

ok ok, here's the lowdown for ringtones, i found this site and i txted for a polyphonic ringtone (this model was actually on the compatible list) and i got a reply with the WAP address, went to it through the internet on the phone, typed in the address and clicked on the picture of the ringtone and it said it was 'UNKNOWN CONTENT'!!! this phone is hopeless!!!

I got my LG G1500 fone in a bundle with $100 credit and couldn't pass that up, but i've tried to get logo's and polyphonics a numerous amount of times through the vodafone website (It came with a red sim) and it hasn't worked yet! Can this model take polyphonic ringtones? This is a reasonable phone. You can get ringtones sent from a Nokia phone (I got a few from a Nokia 3310). But if LG provides some facility to download them directly it would be very nice. I too am confused about the availability of Infra Red. Is there someone out here who is successful in using IrDA with this phone? Battery life is not all that good. I get hardly 2~2.5 days back up time.

I recently purchased the LG G1500 also. For the echo- I hear ya! I took mine back and it turned out to be a software problem that was on the first 3000 editions of the phone released in Australia. So you need to get LG to upgrade the software and you should no longer have any echo

I purchased the G1500, and yes the ringtones are dreadful, they remind me of those toy piano sounds off a baby toy.. I did some testing at mymobilephone.com to no avail.. I was told by a rep at LG that the G1500 had similar capabilities to the G5300 which might be the case in some areas, but not as far as the ringtone download capabilities go.. I also found that I was only getting about 12 hours charge out of my battery.. Over all was not happy, I also had a problem where in the middle of smsing, at times the phone simply turned off by itself.. So with that I returned to the dealer and I exchanged it for a different brand.. Thankfully no more nasty ringtones.

hi,guys people who are in india can download ringtones(monotone only) from by checking the ringtone code and sending SMS as "RT code" to 8888. Remember code should be from monotones only not polyphonic.

hey guys. i did some testing... i tried tagtag.com, connected there with my G1500... for a while, it kept telling me "too large to send back"... i then managed to edit my midi and bring it to 2kb... but then the phone gives me an "UNknown Content!"... i'm pretty sure the G1500 is polyphonic.. and the midi should have worked. but it didn't.... :( Chintu we are awaiting you. :)

The phone LG G1500 is a good balue for money. It has all the gr8 features. You can connect a data cable and if your serice prvider provides GPRS facility then you can access internet ......and have loads of fun.. Downloading ring tones shouldnot be a problem... I will write about it after 3 days.

One good feature is the automatic key lock after 25 seconds. One very bad feature is you can't stop it from making loud annoying beeping noises when successfully completing menu operations without first putting in quiet mode. Confer ringtones suck. Doesn't even have normal ring so you HAVE to choose one of the bad tunes.

This is a well built and nicely balanced phone. Feels good to hold. Good reception and battery life. Nice clear blue screen with adjustable contrast. English language only in the Australian market. GPRS with basic WAP. Weak vibrate. OK scheduler / calendar. These are a bargain if you only need a basic phone. Good looks and will fit nicely in a handbag or pocket.

Ditto about the ringtones. (otherwise a nice phone) How can they come up with so many ringtones that are so tacky?? There's only one or two that I can tolerate (barely), and NO-ONE seems to support ringtones to download. If you know of any, please let me know. I'd even settle for a usual mobile phone ringing sound!!

A Pleasent looking small size affordable phone with good battery backup, but with a heavy load of 7 function keys difficult to remember and operate. Unlike other phone having 3 or 4 multiuser keys with simple and easy operation
