LG G4 - User Reviews

  • Yep, my G4 died after 5 months of use. As i got it used i have no way to claim any warranty or something, so i've had this expensive brick sitting in a drawer for almost 2 years now. Piece of garbage smartphone. If someone reading this is considering getting it, drop the idea as it is a lottery wether you buy a good G4 or one with an expiration date. Get an Xperia Z3 instead

  • No official OS nougat firmware yet for LG g4 mxm

  • Try limiting the amount of apps running in the background. Also, try rooting, getting a different custom rom, and try to limit CPU speed (there is also a thermal pad mod you can do to help cool down the phone and prevent the infinite bootloop error). If you are using the phone for gaming though, I highly recommend doing the thermal pad mod, as it can boost performance by preventing throttling and cooling the phone down. Also, for better battery performance, I recommend using a aftermarket battery with a higher capacity. It may be a bit risky for you, but I can confirm that it is safe and can extend battery life by a few hours (find on ebay, but go for the 5,000 mAh ones, watch out for the 10000 mAh as those are complete scams).

  • When that happened to me, I brought it into lg's support and they had to exchange the whole motherboard, which means I lost practically everything since I didn't use lg backup. After googling a bit, I found out that is a recurring problem with LG G4, that after 1/2 years, the motherboard dies. after replacing it, my phone was never the same, it started overheating very easily and batteries lasted only 1 year.

  • you may try a new battery I though my wife g4 was damaged with soldiery but it was battery instead .. try another battery it doesn't have to original so you will know where the issue is.

  • Spamming....wow 1569 fans..... Lol G4 still widely on sale at Aliexpress & Ebay dude...

  • please, my front camera isn't working I want to know if I can fix it.

  • Do you use net?. I hv bought it.

  • I have small update. With lineage os 16 battery lasts 4h 30mins without gaming(quite new battery 2550mah according to accubattery) and wifi only. This is now good battery performance, loving it.

  • I had an LG G4 through AT&T for two years and I never had one problem.

  • Don't buy better to replace your phone.

  • Google it: lg g4 bootloop problem

  • try another battery , my wife g4 was having that issue and it is working fine almost 2 years using it flawless thanks to God

  • Folks, My Lg G4 doesn't go further when switching on, it only repeats LG now and again, again continuously. Tried to flush it, it still does the same thing. Any idea to help plz?

  • It is a good mobile with excellent features, but it is not good for playing games, just good for general use, internet, youtube, web browsing, lg g4 serial number starting with 0500 to 0509 , their mothrboards are faulty, they stop working after 9, 12, 14 or 17 months.

  • Very good phone even in 2019. Android 9.0 can be installed on it via custom rom from xda. If you consider buying one please make sure that the motherboard isn't from 2015-they are all faulty and will bootloop at some point(hardware problem). 2016 and 2017(rare) motherboards are much safer. Battery is also bad on this phone, even after oem replacement. It will last for about 3.5 hours screen on time(this means when you use the phone),if its an old battery even less. However a custom big size battery can be installed, but this will make the phone thicker. G4 will also often get quite got when playing games. These are the only negative things that I can say about the phone. The speaker is loud and good quality, camera is great as well. Screen is also very high resolution and good quality. The button placement on the phone is very comfortable. The size of this phone is also nice, its a bit smaller than my other phone oneplus 5,although same screen size 5.5 inch. I wouldn't recommend this phone if you are only planning to play heavy games on it as the heating up will become annoying, performance in games is average,though- I would compare it to a 150 euro brand new phone. In case you are wondering, pubg runs well on low graphics settings and low fps(24)-you can also enable medium settings and medium fps(30) but the phone heats up more and this causes lower performance. General usage as youtube, social networks, web browsing is fast and flawless.

  • It's totally trash

  • The phn has superb audio. I m using mi in ear pro hd earphn with it. It sounds far better than a decent mi phn.

  • I bought this phone about 3 months ago (H-815 Model).. Overall...the phone is good. Gaming is perfect, taking photos is also good. But the main issue here is the battery life. On a full charge and with normal usage, i barely get by with just 2hrs 50 mins.. When i installed the Accubattery app... It showed that i had 1750 maH of battery life left I bought a new battery and it still gave me the same results... What should i do ?..I really like this phone

  • Install " Perfect 365 " app in it..... you photo will be photo shopped by default, you will love it.

  • The worst phone ever , heat up,freeze, auto reboot, poor fm, camera invalid....

  • My guess is that u are from bd.i want to know from which shop u bought your phone and the adress of the shop.THANK YOU.

  • I have bought a LGG4 3 months ago by paying incredibly cheap price..it's running on lollipop version. It has impressive performance great cameras and a super hd display. It has so many software features too. Battery life is pretty average and fast charging works very well by fast charger(55% in 30 mnts). And for gaming it's a very good device I am playing some big racing games like asphalt 8 on high graphics settings nfs no limits and pubg on default settings runs pretty smooth..whole things are beyond all my expectations.

  • 5 years with the phone, never had a problem, still working like new and cant find a better one for the same price nowadays. Other versions of this like lg g5 is perfect but g6 sucks, dont waste money.

  • I have a G6 and it's fantastic compared to a G4, it doesn't bootloop and such, the only problem is the screen retention

  • Not in 2019. You'll probably end up buying one that bootloops in very short time since the phone is 4 years old

  • Honestly don't buy this phone. Spend the extra few bucks and get a G5 or even better the G6 if you're looking for a previous gen flagship

  • Please guys help me out l want to buy lg g4 please is it a good phone to use

  • Can confirm, mine broke in that exact amount of time

  • Is not worthy, I bought it 8 months ago and the motherload has already broke...i need to replace it and even if I do I can not trust it won't happen again...

  • Had this phone for 3 years now. Had the bootloop after 1 year of usage. Replaced the motherboard, luckily phone was stil under warrenty. I dont play heavy games on it anymore but when i look at the modern midrange phone specs the lg g4 still competes with the latest brands an has the tech of todays phones. I picked up a p30 lite an found no difference between my phone an the Huawei. I dont need an upgrade an will continue using the g4 till it breaks.

  • I bought lg g4 h815 global version from HONKONG, after one it has so many problems such as screen getting stuck when a call comes to me to answer, the loudspeaker has resounding problem by the caller, it is a lobile for hard ware is a piece of garbage, but for specs is xcwllwnt.

  • I bought this phone about a yr ago refurbished set for $75. I knew it has a bootlag issue but wat the heck. Its 75 bucks. I use it as a 2nd phone. I use it when I dun want to drain my main hp or it is charging. It also takes great photos. Organizing my ig and fb with it. The things i wont not do with this phone are playing heavy games and multitasking with this phone for long period of time.

  • I have this phone for a little over 3 years now. Serving me as a second phone the last 15 months, this has been excellent. Still using it for taking photos, cos the Mi Max 2 is rubbish for taking pictures :) It has better cameras than most of mid-range phones that are out nowadays. I haven't got bootloop, so I believe that either I am lucky, or people are overeacting about how many devices possibly got a bootloop. Either way, this phone is slow and the specs, for today's apps, are low, but it's overall good. I will not sell this one, as it has been my favourite so far, after LG Optimus G (which still works fine with custom roms and stuff).

  • Reliable isn't the correct word. if you have a G4 that hasnt bootlooped, it's only because it hasnt happened yet. This is by far the most unreliable phone i've had since replacing the motherboard could end in the same problem. Theres no way to repair it properly.

  • This mobile in quality is rubbish, but for its specs are excellent. in my opinion quality is much more important han specs, what are you gonna do when it will have many problems after one year or abit more upwards.

  • I bought lg g4 h850 ( globalversion), this mobile has excellent specs, but for quality is rubbish, after 12 months or abit more upwards so many problem start, like touch screen freezing, CPU dying suddenly.

  • How's your new LG G4 serving? How much it cost in the market now? Are the cameras any good?

  • I have brand new lg g4 and a using it for listening music via spotify with my tube amp...

  • we use this for business numbers without internet it is a beast phone

  • cool

  • my battery is so poor .what can i do?

  • It is fine, so long as you do not define yourself by having the "latest" in everything. It is a good and reliable device.

  • I did. I had my previous one for three years and couldn't part with it so I bought it again.

  • Nope, if you buy then it must be rooted for up to date software.

  • is it worth to buy this mobile in 2019? thanks in advance.

  • I had the bootloop issue, I told them that if my phone was a suspect of problem, how come they didn't inform me of it before I was out of warrenty. It was discovered in April of 2017, they shut up and replaced it.

  • I don't have this error. But i have other error with battery he not working properly

  • their is a recall. Mine was replaced for free via Sprint and my wifes via LG. Had to do some smooth talking, but got both replaced!

  • I got 3 words to say!!!........... "Bootloop Of Death"

  • mine is 3 years old. It works perfectly and I mean perfectly. Rarely overheats and only in summer days. Great camera, very reliable in everything. It has fm radio, microsd, irda, audio jack, removable battery.. find me a phone that has them all nowadays. I don't know how you guys keep your phones to have such annoyances

  • I purchased the 2017 and now it is dead (bootloop). It started with overheating, then lags and now it is dead.

  • Buy it from your country, if you buy from aliexp. then you have to wait for a long time.

  • Guys i want your honest suggestions. My lg g4 died last year april 2018 since then its in my drawer. I want your suggestion should i buy its board from aliexpress and it cost nearly $40 but in Pakistani rupees it cost Rs5600. Your suggestions are welcome

  • The LG G4 is a great phone! I bought mine refurbished. Everything works beyond my expectations. It has one of the best 16mp cameras available in phones. It handles every kind of app imagined. Infact, I installed an outstanding scientific graphing calculator app that's as good as any $300.00 one and free! Its got 32g internal and 32g added. Its a great device. It will keep up with the best of the current phones and the battery can be replaced!!!! You will need a protective case as its a slippery little jewel. Your going to love this phone!

  • I bought LG G4 in august 2015, in june 2016 motherboard had been changed (autoreboot, system issues), in january 2017 bought new battery (phone was so hot, battry blew up later) otherwise I must say all works good. In general I am satisfied with this phone. It would be very welcoming if LG offered a cloud to upload backup in case you don't prefer Google taking care of it.

  • Unfortunately after 2 years my LG g4 died. It started having issues like freezing in the cold weather and overheating a month after I bought it. It always gave me problems. Funny thing is that I reset my phone to delete many apps to avoid this overheating problem and now it doesn't recognize anymore my gmail address. Stupid, stupid phone! Just a waste of money. My phone shuts itself down if it is cold outside and hot outside... totally useless since in an emergency situation you can't use it. Bought it in January 2017 and died in January 2019.

  • LG-WB "Looks Good-Works Briefly". I had this phone for 6 months and it started going into a boot-loop, then just died. It was never dropped and never got wet once but when I sent it back to be serviced they claimed it had corrosion from "water-damage" on the inside and refused to honour the warranty. The only reason why it would have any water on the inside would be from ambient moisture which translates into poor design.

  • Pixel 2 or 3 XL would fit your needs.

  • First of all, I really like this phone. I like its feel, I like its design, I like it's software, and I like its hardware. On paper this is a great price/performance quality phone. But after a year of heavy usage, I can't recommend it to anyone. The battery life is terrible, the phone overheats during trivial non-gaming tasks, the notification led is stuck on green all the time, the play store works only on 4 days out of 10 for no reason, ram is too small, touchscreen sometimes lights up for nothing, battery is being drained crazy when the phone is absolutely inactive. But the leather back-cover is absolutely fantastic. It's not a terrible phone, just poor in quality. Just pick a better one.

  • Try changing the battery

  • LG made a mistake with this phone, and then just turned its back to customers. LG never again.

  • If you got a 5xx early series, yes, this series have a known factory problem. :(

  • This phone only worked for almost a year, and suddenly it stopped working. Definitely not a good choice.

  • Use a compatible charger. chargers with 1 ampere output doesn't charge its battery efficiently. For other issues try a hard reset.

  • You can get a second hand unlocked motherboard in DHGate dot com for around $50-90 depending on the sub-model you need it for.

  • Try a factory reset. If this will not rezolv conecting problem, your phone it's not compatible with the network, try another SIM of another network.

  • I got one for a 2 years from now, every day use, no gaming ...still strong.

  • My lg g4 serial nunber begins with 616 ... Am i faceboot loop problem ?

  • Of course, for roughly a little extra, the LG G5 would suit for perfectly, gorgeous looking and sharp display, and amazing dual cameras, with a Snapdragon 820, if gaming becomes something you want to do too then you'll be perfectly fine. However if you want with a little more of a similar price then check out the Sony Xperia Z3

  • i just bought this fone from online store and what i face is battery charging is too low even in whole night i did not become 100% . Second when i go to security and it gives error"Unfortunately, the process com.android.setting has stopped. aslo the battery drain very fast.. can anybody hell in this please let me know the solution for this.

  • I lowkey miss this phone. Too bad it broke itself in like 10 months

  • The worst phone of the world the manufacturing of this phone is so poor that world not ever seen

  • That's good to hear that this ROM works good for you.

  • Hi there, I totally found your review of the LG G4 accurate and helpful! Thanks. I also loved the phone. The bootloop issue has just started now. I've tried all the tricks and nothing has worked. Do you have a good recommendation for something that could replace the G4? I mostly need great camera and good reading screen. (Won't be gaming.)

  • Hi there. This phone will be perfect for your mother, most mothers take countless photos so the camera on this phone will be more than enough for her, however, if you do have the extra money then you should totally go for the LG G5 but the G4 is more than perfect.

  • hello, i want this phone for my mother, is great ?,please , help me.

  • Hey there everyone, If you're somebody who has this phone or wants to purchase one but is afraid of this awesome phone boot looping then please allow me to help. This boot loop issue shouldn't be a problem to anybody who does there very best to keep this phone cool, this phone can do everything you need it to do, record in 4K, play all your games, let you watch your movies, let you listen to your music and run all your apps without any trouble, in doing this, please always try keeping this phone away from it's heating zone, avoid getting it hot or pushing it and this phone will smash in everything. If boot loop is too occur, please place the phone in a freezer for roughly 30 to 40 minutes, which will temporarily fix the boot loop, this will allow you to back up everything you cannot lose. Also for the phone boot loops, have the motherboard replaced, then you'll be all good to go and you'll never run into the boot loop problem again, any screen problems too, such as coloured lines flying through the screen when you wake it, this problem is minor however if becomes permanent, refund the phone or get it fixed for a cheap price. Thank you

  • the motherboard of mine crashed , and no free replacement in Algeria , it costs more than the moile itself . otherwise I like everything about it :)

  • This is normal for LG G4, the motherboard of mine crashed too, also replaced it for free. It's a manufacturing mistake from the company. Doesn't really mean you can't play games on it. Once you've replaced it, you're good to go

  • U cannot install And play any games...the very 1st year wen i installed games it crashed...the mother board had too be changed. As it was in warranty...no cost....if it was outside warranty i would ve had to spend 18k.....absolutely hopeless phone...the additional battery they gave developed problems and wen tried to contact lg...tey washed teir hands saying out of warranty and can't do anything about it...try to listen too music or vdo....the phone heats up.....try recording vdo.....next moment u ll ve to keep the phone in Freezer too cool it....lg mobile...absolutely worthless for tat amount....51k....not worth

  • Since 2014. However the battery drains super fast since day 1, when I bought it brand new. This device alongside the HTC M9, and Samsung Galaxy S6 all had the same battery life, poor. Couldn’t believe it ran out so fast but glad it was all fast charge too. G4 still works, but processor has aged bad despite me not using it for games really.

  • How long is it you have been using?

  • How longv is it you have been using?, I have lg g4 h850, I have been using for one year, it is working very well, but for specs it is one of the best smartphones, everythingis superb, camera, loudspeaker, speed, full hd , battery average.

  • Awesome camera quality, even better than a lot of the top smartphones from today. But there is one big problem, the phone is a ticking time bomb. The LG G4 is prone to bootlooping and if you're lucky it won't, but all of the m do eventually. Buy beware, my G4 is still working but I am trying to sell it off before it boot loops and stops working.

  • So surprised that this phone still widely on sale at aliexpress or ebay...

  • Pretty great phone but battery life was poor! Also I didn't have the boot issue thank goodness! But the phone became very slow after years.

  • Disconnect so did regularly

  • Hi, My LG G4 dual battery draining very fast. It was Lollypop when i bought. Due to some hardware issues they have replaced the hardware and upgraded to MarshMallow. Facing this issue after upgrade. Battery is good. I donno whether downgrade/upgrade is possible. if so, will it fix this battery issue. Can any one please advise.

  • I bought g4 in 2015. after using about 6 month the phone didn't start up and i realised it's a general issue of this phone. so hopefully i bought this phone with a warranty that repaired and changed the phones board for free but I lost all my data on internal storage. after using 3 years the phones battery draining faster than before. but apart from these issues it's working quite well for me. the screen and both cameras working well. also i got 2 batteries and a charger which allows me to use it for longer time. the screen is 5.5 inches and its large enough to use it conveniently.

  • Thank you I'm thinking of buying it on offer up

  • I bought my G4 new at a discount 18 months ago, the 5th LG phone I've had since my Nexus 5. It had the features I wanted and at half its original price was too good to pass up. Over the G2 it replaced the first thing I noticed was the significant improvement in call audio, much clearer and louder. The camera is still above average at 2160p, and the music playback quality is about as good as I think I've had on any device I've owned. The nav button slider is something I like a lot and any phone I buy in future will need to have a variation on this feature. I also noticed that the screen was much brighter than my previous phone. After all this I don't completely understand why the battery life was so poor. I got a larger replacement battery and this is holding up well after about a year. I had a minor issue with overheating but this is now less usual (probably thanks to updates) although it can get a bit warm if I look at maps for more than a couple of minutes. I'm deciding when I might want to replace it. The key issue here is probably going to be battery life and that the next phone will need an upgraded camera at 2160p. I don't think I'm in a hurry to do that yet though. When I do it is probably going to be another LG model as I've always found these to be good quality - I've never broken an LG screen - reliable and, in the UK, affordable.

  • Swipe down from top to get menu, slide left or right until you see flashlight. Tap to toggle

  • I've had this phone for 2.5 years. Bought it when G5 came out and got a good discount since it became "previous model". The 3GB RAM ensures it can keep up with the newer apps. Had issues with it unable to end calls at times, and I had to force a restart by pulling out the battery. But an update to the system software later resolved this. Had been using it heavily and I have no complaints really. I'm buying a new battery and hope to squeeze at least another 12 months with this phone.

  • Check The sensor of your mobile, its a sensor issue..

  • My phone stays charged longer than any phone i have had only problem I turned on the flash light by mistake and now I am wondering how I did it that was a nice feature and want to use it again

  • Yes!

  • For anyone who is looking to buy this phone, go for it. Been using it for about 3 years now, the only problem i have with it is that the battery life is getting alot shorter. (My battery has not been replaced even once)

  • I have been using lg g4 h815 since last spetember, so far it is working very well,I bought it on ebay from HONGKONG,I am using it very carefully, I am monitoring how long it will last.it is a very good phone for specs, but quality, as many say,not we built

  • I bought my lg g4 a second hand, everything works fine but waking up the screen is a problem, i will double tap d screen but it doesn't come up, i will click d power button but still will not work, even if a call comes in,it will ring but the screen will still be off, but if i plug a charger or remove the battery and put it back den it will come up, even if d battery is full it still happens.pls is there any solution for this? Help.

  • The truth about the LG G4 is dramatic and potentially tragic for data that isn't thoroughly backed-up. The G4 has an inherently faulty motherboard that freezes in the well known "boot loop," and then can crash completely. I've had two (because of warranty replacement) and the only LG fix is to wipe your phone and start over, with less reliability than before, and none of your lost data retrievable! Stay away!!

  • very good performace good display low price camera is not much good for low light but in day light it is very good battery timing is normal restarting problem is very common in this phone that leads to dead board

  • planned upgrade to 7.0 (Nougat)>>>> where this planed for 3 years ????? i have 6 ver. and wait 3 year the planned upgrade to 7.0 (Nougat)

  • Does it support LineageOS officially?

  • There is indeed an official Nougat update but this was apparently only available in Poland. Check out this topic at XDA for installing it on any H815 variant: You will have to unlock your bootloader but this is easy (you just have to register an account at LG and perform a few simple steps with the phone connected to a computer), the unlock will be sent to you by email. Then you can flash the update. I have installed it today and it works great.

  • is your g4 running on official lg nougat rom ?? cuz mine downloads the package and while installing says error and reverts back to marshmallow !!

  • For safe and lasting use always check the running of unwanted applications which drain battery. LG G4 is the best smart phone if using carefully.

  • I had my LG G4 H815 since 2015 and I'm still using it till now as my primary phone (my other phone is iphone 6). The thing I like most about this phone since I first bought it is its camera, both front and back. I it is very good in low light conditions plus the wide lens for the selfies has always been very good when taking group selfies. Also the manual controls give it a sense of using a pro camera although I scarcely use this mode. I hardly faced heating problems, I guess a few times in the last 3 years, which were all related to serious heating, like leaving the phone in direct sunlight in the summer or playing an intensive game like need for speed for more than an hour in a poorly air conditioned room and so. Battery life is average, but the fact that it has removable battery is very satisfying, since I got this phone it was a promotion that I got with it an extra battery with an external charger, so I almost never leave the phone wired to the charger (actually I got used to this, and now all new phones have built in batteries so I'm kind of stuck in here) instead I charge the other battery and exchange batteries. Although I am generally satisfied with this phone that I thought about buying another new one that is dual sim (I finally decided not) but I have to mention that I faced the following problems in the first year: 1- Suddenly the screen stopped displaying properly giving strange colors then turned totally black. The service center said it was a faulty screen which is a rare condition and almost no one had this issue and exchanged for me within the warranty. 2- The popular bootloop issue: I faced it after around 6 months from buying the phone, the service center said it is a common issue in early editions which have specific serial numbers and mine was one of these. The problem was something related to the mother board and they got it changed within the warranty. 3- The phone fell over the carpet while vibrating and since then it stopped vibrating. The service center changed the vibrator motor within the warranty. Generally the service center (in Egypt) was very professional and helpful, and they solved all the problems without much debates, however it is not good to have to leave a new phone at the service center 3 times in the first year even if you'll pay nothing because you're still in warranty. The funny thing is that I never faced any serious problems after the warranty has expired, even though in the last year (after more than 2 years of extensive usage) the double tap to unlock is becoming harder (this is an LG feature where you can turn on the display without pressing the unlock button instead you double tap the screen). Finally I have to say that generally I am a good phone user, usually my phones last for years before they breakdown. The last phone I had before the G4 was a Samsung S4 which was very good for the first 6 months but got worse after every OS update, battery getting worse, performance getting much worse to the extent of getting over my nerves. The phone before it was also a Samsung Galaxy Mini that went dead after one and half years. Before it I had a Nokia N80 that lasted for 4 years until it was totally dead.

  • If you never had a heat problem with LG G4, then you never used it at it's peak capasity. I had this device for 1 year and gave it away as a present. The battery problem was getting out of hand. The phone has an excellent display and camera setup, but the battery couldn't handle the Snapdragon and the extreme display. In result to that in summer days using navigation in the car led to overheating and the phone was switching off by itself to cool down. Battery life is a nightmare, never was able to get a day long experience without charging.

  • thanks for yor reply.

  • I bought it in Aug 2016 in slightly used condition. Never had over heating issues apart from playing games which is normal in all devices. First it starts acting strange when i try to use camera flash as torch and after few weeks camera stop working and then after few weeks my screen shows garbage characters and then bootloop starts couple of times and then it turns off and never recovered. I took it for repair but it doesn't work. Now it's laying in my drawer RIP. I think sooner or later all lg g4 might face killer bootloop.

  • For how long did have it?did you get it brand new?did you look after about overheating?I have lg g4 h815 for 9 months ,it is fine,I bought brand new.

  • Bring it to a phone store they will heat it and it will boot again altho it won't be a long term solution it will be enough to Bach your data

  • My LG G4(VS986) overheats and keeps hanging after about 20 minutes of operation how can this be resolved.....

  • My lg g4 has this heating issue where if i use it for around 5 minutes it will start to get hot at the top where the back buttons are and the battery life is not too good either

  • you should perform a master reset

  • can someone help me assist with the issue - Cannot send a text message and cannot connect to the wifi - it pops up "Unfortunately messaging has stopped". For connecting to wifi "Unfortunately, Captive Portal Login has stopped". Thank you for your assistance.

  • Everything is good about this phone except two things..... Poor battery backup and killer Bootloop. My H811 died in march 2018.

  • my lgg4(h811) is suddenly dead not even charging what happened..?

  • To prevent overheat do check which apps used the most battery, stop or uninstall them

  • press power and volume down button

  • I now have my second LG G4 because the first one overheated, sent it for repairs and they replaced it with new one. (said it was a factory fault).

  • Also could try wiping the entire cache partition. I guess that can help extensively leaving no such issues.

  • How can i operate sceenshot on my lg4 phone please

  • Shut down and remove battery for one hour and use flash only for camera forget about torchlight. Those things are worked for me. I m using v6.0 has terrible battery life. Yes maximum two hours on screen performance.

  • Try clearing the cache partition of your phone. This problem must be associated with the cache memory stored on your phone. By clearing the cache memory it should wipe out this error! Try this method and let me know!

  • My G4 does that too and the reason is battery. Replacement didn't help in my case either for some reason and I only get 1-2h screen on time too.

  • pls i need the LG Quad Sim (4) urgently

  • My lgg4 restart sometimes while using camera. Any idea to solve this problem?

  • Thanks for your kind reply dude I love this phn

  • Boot-looping problem with LG G4 can be viewed as fraudulent. I'm done with LG products.

  • Yes, most lg g4 phones suffer bootlooping, especially those startingserial number from 0500 until 059...., but if you look after using, it may work more than 2 years.som internet sites , some games , connecting to wifi for downloading or updating apps while using the phone at the same time can cause overheating, you must avoid doing this as much as possible.

  • My phn(H811) is overheating during gameplay particularly heat faster while camera use and i have been using this for 4 months. Actually i dont know about bootlooping issue. Is there any possibility to start bootlooping issue on my phn for overheating issue?

  • I have been using lg4 h815 for 7 months, it is running very well, but everyone must be careful about overheating for fear of bootlooping, I think if people use this lg g4 properly , it serves 2 years at least although it has factory fault in motherboard, it is a nice mobile in features.

  • I had the lg g3 several years back but I lost it when I did a warranty exchange they quit selling them so I basically got messed around now with that said I've had the s7 edge, the iPhone 7, and now the s8 due to an insurance claim and I will tell you the g3 camera had them all beat the s8 I have there's nothing about it I like but they didn't have any s7 edges to send me in place of mine so I'm stuck with this . It's solid glass and I haven't found a front screen that will stay on it yet I had the same problem with the edge .

  • Are you using a fat charger or a regular one? It makes a big difference you need a 2.0 not a 1.0 charger the package should say fast charger on it. Hope this helps.

  • How do i get marshmallow (6.0) on my lg g4??

  • just restart it.I think it will be ok.

  • Disable "Knock On."

  • My Fone is very slow in charging. Takes hours to mak it to full Battery. Any help would be nice

  • with my g4 , when i just tap on any app the screen goes off. i have to double tap the screen for it to on again , i dont understand why . I have reset the phone several times but still its just the same

  • Did this phone ever get Nougat update in the UK.

  • I owned this phone for 3 years and it served my well the whole time, up until 3 days ago when it started bootlooping. I'd get another G4 but this is apparently a manufacturer defect and will most likely affect any other G4 out there so I'll have to get a different model.

  • I really regret getting this phone. Camera stopped working on mine in 8 months and yesterday it started bootlooping. GET THE G6 or G7 INSTEAD!!

  • buddy, you said a lot of things but I will say in short that LG leather was amazing but if you can wait then it really worth it if you can till S10 launch I'm so much into mobiles and new feature and fed up with a fingerprint sensor and iris sensor wait for something new like more curve and foldable

  • I m using a second hand lg g4(H811) during asphalt 8 gameplay 1 or 2 hours no overheating issue just a bit warm performs very well overall the phn is very responsive and the 16 mp+8 mp camera sensors are best yet

  • I thought of that too, but is it really safe?

  • LG G4 is an utter waste of money. mine just shut down completely after a month. Totally off any LG phones for good.

  • It has to be downloaded from update center. Device- update center

  • Can anyone suggest me a better upgarde in terms of camera from an LG G4.? The current gen cameras look like a joke to me. I haven't tested Samsung or Apple's current gen flagships. But I tested my G4 with some dual cameras of Mi mobiles and S7, iphone 7. The images from those mobiles lacked clarity, something which i really like in G4. I can zoom in and crop the image and can still have a great detail. Most of the mid-range current gen mobiles suck at this, smudgier details may be because they are concentrating too much on the portrait mode.. I saw some last cam standing videos on Youtube where G6 is considered better than S8, Note 8, HTC U11 and surprisingly a lot of people on Reddit and some other forums are complaining that G6 camera is a downgrade from G4 which means G4 camera is even better than S8 and Note 8. I can't afford an iphoneX, OnePlus6, S9plus..or even an LG V30... What about LG V20..??

  • Why would you buy a second hand one when you can buy a brand new one on ebay dead cheap.?

  • The LG brand has yet again refused to be careful about releasing products in regards to bugs, overheating, the battery getting bad over time, and bloatware. If you do not use cellular networks like AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, or a very few others, then you will be bombarded by apps giving you popups if you do not use the cellular networks that are for those pre-installed apps. I am talking about when you use the Contacts and the screen gives you an AT&T Address Book sync popup. I had to go online to figure out how to remove that annoying AT&T Address Book popup that would show up each time I would go into my Contacts instead of LG being nice to me by not letting me have to remove it myself. That is why LG cares little about you if you have a cellular network that is not AT&T, Verizon, Sprint, and other VERY popular cellular networks. Another problem with LG G4 is that the battery goes bad after an amount of time. It drains quicker than it would when you first bought LG G4. Once again another problem is that this phone overheats when you simply play games, watch videos, download anything, etc. It is pathetic because of that. Now, about the bugs problem. LG G4 has been notorious for the bootloop. Good luck finding an LG G4 that does not make the bootloop problem. Finally, do not hold your breath and expect the LG brand to help you if you deal with certain problems with the LG G4, especially with the bootloop. If your LG G4 phone actually works, then people have mentioned rooting your phone, getting an extended battery with a protective case, a fast charger, and a microSD card that can hold more than 32GBs to help you with your LG G4 experience.

  • Is it worth it still getting a second hand lg g4 in 2018? I'm scared about the bootloop problem and the OS system. Send help

  • Replace Battery. Mine was doing same thing, caused by bad battery... Sine I replaced battery, it works like new.

  • I'm using already, My dad used it now he has s8plus and I have this but work so fine and playing NFS no limits, shadow fight and more high-end games yeah that's true it heats sometimes and battery backup is not good as now apps are so heavy I have 20000mah mi power bank and also removable battery but if talk about Camera its amazing buddy cant express if talk about Selfie or any landscape shot even slow-mo, every one surprise with the photos and now its more cheaper then before.

  • Pros, cons, and such: Here’s the deal...I bought a new LG G4 in August of 2015. I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. The camera was amazing, and I could not stop raving about it’s features and accessibility. A previous Apple user, I was in love. To my dismay, I was once again an Apple user just over a year later. I’m not too educated on the specifics, but something in the hardware fried due to overheating, a problem that is very prevalent in this phone. The sucky thing- my warranty had just expired. So, this phone is a risk. I am considering going back to LG for the G6, but it’s camera is not as highly regarded. I recommend doing heavy research before purchasing any phone so as not to be disappointed in manufacturer flaws.

  • My lg g4 is not working as it is turning on but then switched off instantly

  • u r right..sometimes too much hot. as far as i m very pleased with its camera and performance..snapdragon 808 is not slow.

  • Dear friend you need to look after lg g4 about overheating lg g4 hardware is not very durable , it is a verygood mobile for features but quality not good enough.

  • Yeah dude..i m using a second hand lg g4..it has color rich display, higher quality sound, richer features, super ultra cameras and solid performance..i m a heavy gamer only battery life is not good to me..bt fast charging 60-65% in 30 mnts.

  • If it's a 6xx series, sure, it's a good choice! :)

  • Is it worth it getting a second-hand lg g4?

  • its there buddy this is the only on company i feel who provide Radio in flagship mobile

  • truly said buddy (using LG G4 and its working still like a charm )

  • yes, off course

  • Does the g4 has radio?

  • absolute dawg. I sent it back 3x to LG for "refurb" since I bought it new in Aug '15. 2 MBs, 2 RF boards, 1 screen coz it melted and peeled from the operational heat. Yes, nice that LG refurbed it, but I've never had issues like this even with the iPho 3G. My 2 HTCs prior to this were flawless and the M7 is still by reliable backup and was so for each "refurb" return. In the flip days, I bought many LGs. They have turned out losers and not taken full responsibility for them until the V30. It's (hopefully) finally stable. But no more LG for me.

  • You might have just been unlucky

  • F 1.8 is lightfull, try manual mode!

  • I just bought an LG G4, it works well but i have a problem with its back camera, as there is to much light entering in. that is the pictures taken froom the back are too white. Unlike the selfie camera which is very clear.

  • I loved it but the silent assassin bug killed it, I got it fixed and ended up exchanging it for a G6 a few months later

  • Everyone's current phone is usually the "best phone they've ever had" so no surprises there. Spoiler alert: your next phone will be the best phone you've ever had.

  • Oh in fact I like this LG product but why is it that they don't add FM radio to it?

  • What is all the bad hype and all the bad mouthing the LG G4? I`ve used other brands in the past, and then decided to try LG. Well that was the best move I ever made. This LG G4 phone has to be the best phone I`ve ever used. I`m even scared to move to the more modern V30`s or G7`s, because this phone has given me no problems since 2015. Yes, after 3 years, the battery is a bit tired. So I replaced the battery, and the phone is kicking on as great as ever!! I would like u guys to compare specs between this phone and the latest phones, and see how good the LG G4 specs still are in comparison. Well done LG for getting this phone right!!

  • Mine is almost 3 years now. Had the board replaced before it reached its 2 years warranty. What I love the most is its camera. Great photos plus great videos!

  • Don't feel too confident mine bootlooped after 15 months. But I bought mine in 2015 you know when it was a new and current phone. If you bought one used 14 months ago chances are 1) It's already been repaired or 2) it's from the 2016 year production of G4.

  • how do you normally use your phone for it to last that long?

  • I've bought mine used like 14 months and it's still going strong. You might have just been unlucky.

  • I loved the phone for the whole 3 months it worked!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

  • What solved your problem right. Industrial malfunction. My phone rang out. Industrial malfunction. What is the solution. I and others are disabled. Do you have a new window or program? We want to dissolve. Even if the filter is extinguished by a veterinarian. We

  • I put my bootlooping G4 in the freezer for 2 hours and was able to get about 8-10 minutes of use out of it before it went back to bootlooping but it was enough time to get all my data off it.

  • looks to be a good gardget

  • LG phones' cameras are good. My last LG phone is Nexus 4. I stopped using LG smartphones for 4 years, due to their bad batteries.

  • LG phones' cameras are good. My last LG phone is Nexus 4. I stopped using LG smartphones for 4 years, due to their bad batteries.

  • I recommended not use hair dryer. You making the chip even more hot. Put in freeze its on youtube somewhere i saw and its worked

  • My LG G4 is bootloop. Cannot boot after 2.5 years normal using. It is my first LG, could be my last one too.

  • I don't think so, i think there are few LG G4 in good working condition, the rest are bootlooped or dead or soon to be bootlooped or dead. No point to release nougat at this point.

  • How much take system? Tnx

  • It, LG G4, is my first LG, and could be my last one too. After 2.5 year normal use, it is now hardware fails that it won't be able to boot. It hangs at LG logo screen. A temp fix is to take the circuit board out and use hair dryer to heat the chips, and then it will boot, but only runs about 1 min, then it restarts to the hanging LG logo screen. (bootloop failure).

  • Is there nougat update any time soon?

  • Mine is working good, too. 32G, 3G Ram, good phone but system takes little too much space.

  • Brother, It is a very good phone. Who said you it performance is low. But I don't like Androids Now. I am a lover of iPhones. Please look at a mobile Oppo A57 and compare it with LG G4

  • I have also bought this phone 1 month ago....for such an old phone is great ...only problem is that I have an h810...at&t model and I can't seem to register my product...some help?

  • I have been using mine since September 2015, I guess I may be one of the lucky few who had no issues with the phone, have never encounter the infamous boot-loop issue. Phone is doing okay till now. The camera was phenomenal on release, original bokeh effect etc, and the quality is still on par today. Screen is great and sharp, but only so-so on sunlight. The only issue I got was battery drained. Easily fixed with a new batter and fresh factory reset.

  • doggie of a phone. just sent back to LG for a 2nd "refurb". Time will tell. Gets very hot; >117ºF, bootloops, touch screen stared to peel. Needs 3 or 4 charges to make it thru a normal day. No games, just email, text, minor web, 1 hr video and a 1/2 dozen short calls. I hear the G6 and V30 have fixed these issues, but I'd be reluctant. Too bad. Back in the flip days, I bought 1/2 dozen LGs. All very good and sturdy. Running my old HTC M7 while I wait. Pretty darn stable for an older device. My fave phone so far. If the "refurb" doesn't take again, prolly look to HTC again. I hope they survive.

  • waste of money, very poor performance..

  • The LG G4 is a terrible phone, plenty of bugs and battery life is crap, i highly suggest not getting it.

  • You Must Callibration The Battery, You can find the App in PlayStore

  • It might be that your battery is dead.Purchase a new one, i had this problem yesterday, and i changed the battery and everything is working fine now.

  • Please do you have problems with your batteries? auto shutdown when battery is under 30% why?

  • You should be happy your G4 went over 2 years before bootlooping, I think that's a record in itself. Most go before 18 months. Mine did at 15 months. I payed around $80 USD at a LG service center to have it fixed. After multiple failed attempts to repair/reflow the motherboard they finally replaced it with a brand one.

  • You bought a new old stock 2015 phone in 2018? The battery will definitely need to be replaced as the original has probably already lost over half it's capacity from sitting and not being used or charged for the last 2.5 years.

  • If, as you said, it's brand new, then it's the battery. I bought mine, brand new, few weeks ago and had similar issue. Bought new battery and problem fixed

  • auto shutdown when battery level under 30%. now how to fix it. help me. its brand new phone.

  • My LG G4 auto shutdown when battery level 22,24,26 27% randomly.. now what can i do.. plz help me. its brand new phone.

  • Replace the battery!!!

  • Hi! Have you found a fix for the bootloop issue without replacing the motherboard? I can't use the phone now as it gets stuck in the LG logo part.

  • I really loved this phone when it worked and had it for 2 years and 2 months. I was very comfortable with it and recommending it to people for some time. Wham!!! Without warning, BOOTLOOP just happened to my G4 a couple of days ago and lost some important data. The shop I bought this from is asking for US$250 to replace the motherboard as the phone is out of warranty. I will never ever ever ever buy an LG mobile phone for the foreseeable future. I signed up in the site just to post this warning.

  • I had my eye on this phone since '16, bought it 2nd hand last year for $95 here in Seoul. One of best phones, ever. Still blazing fast, bright luscious screen, love the high-res camera (a bit saturated, but i guess great at hiding the skin blemishes ^^), and still using it! Seriously better than any of the recent LG iterations!

  • I know people like to defend their phones, I know some people go a year without this phone screwing up and go "you're all mad, this phone is fine", but let's be honest guys, this phone is kind of a dud. Bootloop thing drives me insane - I hear that LG startup music in my sleep. I love it all the same, have been putting custom ROMs on it and it's got a new battery etc (at least the battery is replaceable right?), but nonetheless I do wish I'd just got a Xiaomi or something.

  • stop replying to my comments , im done from you newbie :D

  • Haters try to spread bootloop issue in every page....stop spamming here .. This is not tv!

  • Stop spamming and go read my reply to you in v10 :P

  • Stop spreading fake youtube video.....

  • Worst battery life ever.. Replaced the battery like 4 times now.. The longest it ever lasted.. As i use it like any normal smartphone user was 2 hours... What is lg thinking..

  • Replaced the Motherboard for my LG G4. Cost me around $100 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.

  • LG TV bootloop ;D Same reason & Same zhit!

  • Owned two G4s and they both bootlooped. I was told it was a design defect and would never get another.

  • Great Machine. Its big problem in my opinion is the camera: it is not configurable, takes huge pictures of nearly 7MB that are unnecessarily large (think about a photo and enlarge the file storing noise in hd). If you use the LG G4, you'll need an app like Simple Photo Resizer to compress your photos in a reasonable size.

  • I have G4 since two years. I only had a serious camera problem almost a year ago (camera not working at all). In a two weeks timespan they replaced motherboard, in mid 2017. It works perfectly since, very very satisfacted. A relatively recent phone with good qhd screen, microsd expansion, replaceable battery, irda, fm radio, 3.5mm jack, tv-out... NO other phone has them all. Always fast and reliable. And since my motherboard is manufactured in mid 2017 I hope it's bootloop-free, as I've heard (not sure). Overall awesome phone

  • Had no problem with the LG G3 as it had a good antenna better then my Samsung but the LG G4 drops calls all the time, catching signals is like trying to catch a bird flying......hate it....my husband has my old LG G3 and gets calls and texts in our home I can't even with a cell phone booster as we live in the Country......too bad

  • I've had it for almost a year, I'm not a fan. The thing I like the best is the camera; it takes pretty good pictures. But ultimately I dislike it because of many little reasons: pre-downloaded apps are alphabetical, followed by downloaded apps in alphabetical order. Rounded back means can't type with it lying flat on a surface because it'll rock. I find the screen too wide for one handed typing. After almost a year, I still have issues typing in general, which I really didn't expect given that I've only ever had Android devices. It loses its charge quickly, and sometimes it spontaneously shuts down even though it'll have something like 20% battery. I'll have to plug it in to turn it back on. I had my last phone for several years and switched because I started having issues with apps. I want to switch up phones now after just less than one year because I would like a better user experience; it's frustrating.

  • Only if they replaced it with another bad motherboard. The serial number on the new board should be 6xx = manufactured in 2016. If you still got a 5xx board then I'd still be worried. My 5xx G4 got a replacement 6xx board after it bootlooped.

  • Error from software. You should turn off all smart features. Charge the battery when 10%.

  • How? Thx!

  • I want to know, does bootloop still happen after the motherboard replacement?

  • Hey, you can update it manually to Nougat, I did it and its like new phone right now :)

  • Had it since June 2015, so closing in on 3 years with it; I feel like I can give it a pretty thorough review. It was also my first smartphone, so I'm relatively unbiased. I'd give it a solid 6.5-7/10. I removed a point for every major fault and a half point for a minor fault. One major issue, of course, is the bootloop. To my knowledge it was caused by a faulty contact on the motherboard. Took a week to replace, but to their credit it was out of warranty. -1 for that. The battery life is pretty atrocious and erratic. There have been days where I got 5+ hours of screen on time, and others when I got 1.5-2. You might chalk it up to variations in daily usage, but I pretty much use it for the same things every day. Mostly Messenger (only messenger, facebook app disabled), Snapchat, texting, some web browsing, maybe 10-20 min of youtube videos, 5-10 min of light gaming. Not too heavy, but not light either. Still, other phones do much better consistently in this regard. At times the battery would randomly start draining rapidly even when I hadn't touched the phone in hours. -1 to -1.5 for that, depending on how important it is to you. Classes end around 3-4 for me, by which time it would be at 5-10% battery, so I would just recharge. Keep in mind that it does support QuickCharge, so charging is quite fast. In addition, LG will not be updating the phone past Android 6.0, which basically forces me to upgrade soon. This doesn't really bother me too much though, since in my day to day usage, I don't feel like I'm lacking any features, so -0.5. The last minor issue is occasional slow downs/freezes. Doesn't happen very often, maybe once every few weeks; it is annoying when it happens though, so -0.5 for that. Other than that, the phone is pretty much perfect, both in size and quality. The screen is fantastic, and very high resolution. It is an LCD, which you may or may not prefer over OLED. IMO the colors look very natural. I'm not a huge fan of oversaturation, although I haven't owned an OLED phone before. The Android skin is very light and quite similar to stock. Every day actions are buttery smooth, with no random lags or hitches. The camera is very good, and has lots of manual options. I really like the build of the phone. The bezels are the right size, and the back has a nice texture for a plastic back. The front side really is beautiful. It is also quite durable. I had an Otterbox on it for a while, but I took it off a few months ago because I got sick of it. Since then, I've dropped it directly on concrete multiple times and haven't even had a scratch, let alone a crack.

  • this last forever like lgg3

  • Anybody can help coz of bootloop issue to my lg g4

  • Lg g4 is a great phone in specifications, it has very good specs, but lg g4 users, nearly most of them , say it is a low quality built mobile for components, because most lg g4s stop after one or one and half year,it has CPU problem, I am using it myself now for 4 months, h815 version, I love it because of the specs, it has no any problem yet.

  • Very fast charging and great phone, speed while swiping excellent. very impressed with it.

  • The best way to avoid LG g4 overheating is not to use video calling more half an hour, by viber, messenger, skype,or not to use heay app games,or not use some internet ites for more than half an hour because it causes overheating, not to use wireless connection or wifi hotspot for more than half an hour. Using fast charge samsung plug can charge lg g4 by one hour and ten minutes and let it be on charge for another half an hour, it will be fine.

  • Dear friend , as soon as it is %100 percent charged, keep it charging for another half an hour.it will be very good.

  • Its been sooo long since they said they'll give an update. i already upgraded to a galaxy note 8. just keeping my LG G4 as a spare phone now. it bootlooped on me once during warranty. brought it down to LG service center they changed the motherboard and its been working fine till now but i still dont trust it or lg in general anymore. the phone is amazing but the trust towards the company is gone. my previous phone before this lg g3 bootlooped after warranty and my lg optimus g pro touch screen stopped working. sister's lg g6 kept on freezing she had to restart it at least two to three times a day. too many issues they have i was the biggest fan of them... but now that i moved over to samsung i am wayyy much happier. the note series are amazing. heard oppo and huawei is good too. take my advice, as of now LG G4 has some value to it, sell it, get some cash and get a new phone that has nougat in it already that'll give you a future oreo update too

  • your phone needs to be flashed

  • Where will the android update 7.0 will release

  • overall great phone (bootloop issue apart, shame LG). Find me a rather recent phone with: removable battery, micro-sd memory slot, irda, fm radio, 3.5mm audio jack

  • since yesterday my lg g4 stylus says system ul has stopped. and the phone is ON but nt working . any suggestions?

  • I still have and use my LG G4. The batteries suck and have gone through like 3 in 3 years. Phone is solid and works just fine. I'm reluctant to upgrade.

  • i'll never buy LG phone anymore. This phone's CPU is big problem. after buy 2 months phone's cpu died for bootloop. Then i fixed this. Now this phone is show high temperature notifications but not hot.

  • Had the same issue, had to charge the phone several times a day, until the phone died under warranty, I got the motherboard replaced and now it holds up over 30 hours with moderate use, this is how it should have worked since the first day. Updating to Android 7 helps with background apps draining the battery as well.

  • The LG G4 has a known manufacturing fault which can occur at any point during the phone's life. Source: Hope this helps.

  • Yes, About heating problem no escape, especially if you are using mobile data. May be if you get your Internet via wifi the heating and battery drain are diminish. Now about tethering. Open YouTube, looking for video called turning on mobile hotspot at&t for lg g4 and g5. There is an app called set edit, follow the instructions and the hotspot going to open..

  • Hey guys , I've been wz of g4 for now 3months, but my 2 problems of this fone is over heating and of course draining the battery very fast to the extent of cherishing 3 times a day that too much for me. Then secondly it can't tether , it keeps telling me that there is a temporaly network problem stopping it, please I need urgent advise.thnx

  • I use an lg g4 LS991. The phone just went off while using it. And wen I tried to switch it on it's now stuck on lg boot screen. Please I needhelp

  • Take it to LG sevice in whichever country you live in.

  • i have been using the phone for about 4 months soundly it start booting itself.i was ask to flash it but no software to do so.please i need a software to flash it.

  • Am using LG G4 but the network have move from 4G to E. this is only thing that is making the phone boring but aside that it the best phone.

  • Do installed copper heatsink at the chipset to prevent bootloop. I did it on my g4 and v10. Better be early to prevent who knows will be workin for long time

  • had the phone for about a year.ran great without any problems. This was the best phone hands down iv ever had until it bootlooped and completely bricked on me.

  • Where you get this saying ? The nougat update will consider by lg but its a matter of time body Chill the fucken out

  • Dear all . I have purchased this phone 2 months before.I am in Saudi Arab but I purchased it from Dubai.but I don't know whats the problem is going on with this phone that. I am not able to receive any call as well as not able to do out calls also ...I am feeling regrate by purchasing this phone .. can anybody give me some resolution how it's possible to receive any calls or do out calls ..plz plz tell any body ...

  • I have been using LG G4 for the past two months , just recently the phone keeps telling me camera has stopped working any time I open the camera app, before that the camera was working perfectly, with good pictures but for now the camera is not responding please any help . I have factory reset the phone several times but the problem still persists. thankx

  • Hi guys... I am using this for 7 months. The performance of phone is so nice... But the main issue for me right now is heating problem... I can't use this phone for one hour continually.... Until now no boot loop or any issues except heating... Good luck for all I ordered for lg g pro 2...

  • well almost a great phone, one negative thing is the battery timing. it drains even phone is not in use... like 10% to 15% over night drain.

  • I have had several Sony phones all of which overheated and broke and I do not ever video call or play games so

  • Good phone , buuut battery is very very bad :((

  • my phone stop working I recive a massage telling me my IU stop working

  • Very good phone but I have a problem, after upgrading to marshmallow, whats app stopped working & i tried to replace the simcard, uninstalling & reinstalling the app but no hope, any help plz???? Also battery began to die after 1 yr of usage, specially after upgrading the software, it used to last more than 24 hours, but now its from 8 am till midnight the same day with 3G network not 4G and some times with battery saver. But overall perfect phone & never hangs.

  • Not everyone has the money for a V20. I got this phone for 100 euros and I'm fully happy with it.

  • No, it's a waste to buy this phone now. Even in 2017 anyone considering a G4 should have just bought a V20 if they like LG. Don't get me wrong; the G4 had it's 2 years of fame in 2015 and 2016.

  • Yes the support is stopped nbut there are many developers of custom roms for this device and using custom roms is much better than using lg’s software as you can tweak the performance and prolong the batt life you can also change it’s resolution and install tweaks and themes for your preference. So it is not a waste to buy this phone you just have to know how to flash custom roms.

  • Its a 2015 phone and its 2018 now. Its lifecycle is long finished. Anyone who bought this phone in 2017 can only blame themselves.

  • No more hope for update, sad

  • It's a great phone it 1) it doesn't bootloop and 2 ) it doesn't have the screen retention problem which starts out small but gets worse and worse with time. I also thought people were blowing the whole bootloop thing out of scale but then mine bootlooped too and I thought mine was manufactured later on enough to be safe. Guess not! Just make sure your phone is regularly backed up and imporant files are on the sd card.

  • Those people backbitten lg G4 you lie this phone really good for everything using it for a year nothing happens phone drops 5times nothing wrong with it still perfect like new I recommend it for everyone

  • Most lg g4 users complain about cheap hardware and components of this kind mobile, all say tis mobile after 9, 10, 12, 16 months it uffers from bootloop problem which stops the mobile from normal working due to overheating. The components of this mobile are of bad or cheap quality ,that is why this big problem happens, although it has very good features, but sorry for the quality. Every mobile overheats sometimes due to some games, navigation using, video calling by messenger or viber or skype, but they are of good quality never this problem happens to them, like samsung , htc, sony, nokia, iphone, they have no this problem , and they work more than four or five years if they are not broken or dropped.

  • "I am still waiting for nougat..." LOL when I read this. Don't hold your breath!

  • I bought my G4 at August 2016. Great hardware, especially camera is better than many newer models. Bootloop issue is dramatic failure but I did not face it until now. May be I mostly used as a phone or camera, not for game so no heating. My main disappointment is battery, in 1.5 year battery is dead. Phone is shutting with a low battery warning at %10 percent so I am in danger when I was reaching to %20 percent. I am using two external batteries for completing the day. From 08:00am to 12:00am main battery discharges then I connect the first external 4400maH battery, at half an hour phone charges and I disconnect the external battery, at 16:00pm-16:30pm phone battery drops to %20 again. Same process reoccurs for the second 4400maH external battery. When turn back my house I am using 3 chargers for charging the all batteries for the next day. I am still waiting nougat for better battery usage but I am disappointed of LG unwillingness or careness of supporting flagship series phones. I will not buy LG again, instead I will buy iphone for their better battery usage.

  • Which part of "2 YEARS" don't you understand?

  • been using it for 2 years, even once soaked in water, still working strong. its quality is more robust then G-S6.

  • Yes, you will keep it until it starts bootloop!!! Do a little research first, mate..

  • Everyone complaining about bootlop this phone is the best smartphone 📱 ever runs smoothly with no lag still using it up to date posting with it already i love G4

  • Lgvg4 is a great phone in features, but it is not of good quality, that is the bid concern. Its age is short, one year, one year and half. I am very surprised at this phone with very good features , but very low quality.

  • see the great ..feel the great !!! suck it bootloop ..never life's good

  • I have had this phone approximately 20 months for now. On 16th months my phone suddenly stopped working. All signs refer to the infamous bootloop issue. Unfortunately, LG is a very unreliable company in such cases. Instead to take responsibility and repair the phone or replace with new one their so-called official service partners focus on the search for excuses to revoke the warranty. It's very annoying. Otherwise, this device has some quite good features like pixel dense vivid screen, radio and IR port, capable cameras on both sides, and micro SD card support up to 256 GB and phone jack of course. Also, the overall design is unique and the same time pleasing. Biggest cons IMO are lack fingerprint reader, outdated OS. Also, battery life leaves to wish for better.

  • This phone may be old, but for someone like me who's coming from one of the worst budget phones ever made the LG G4 feels like a dream. A friend (who happens to have the same phone) recommended the G4 to me due to it's high res screen, big storage options and phenomenal camera. I can just say that she was right about all of those things, 32GB of space + a 32GB SD Card is perfectly fine for me, I never have to worry about running out of space again, the 3GB of RAM is handy with multitasking, the QHD screen looks AMAZING to me, colors are vibrant and it's bright too! Battery life is not the absolute best, but it's not bad either, and again, coming from an LG Leon which had a 1900mAh battery notrious for being, well, shit, this is a huge upgrade for me. I'll probably keep this phone for 2-3 years until it comes completely unusable, then I'll upgrade to the LG GX series phone of the time. The fact a phone from 2015 is still kicking ass in 2017 and soon to be 2018 is impressive. Nice work LG! For those wondering, mine is the 51xxx serial number so luckily the whole bootloop plague won't affect me.

  • I really like the hardware on this phone (luckily no bootloop yet). Replaceable battery is fantastic. However, no Android software or security updates since Sep/16 means this phone get riskier to use everyday. Multiple messages to LG, posts to their Twitter and Facebook pages requesting a bootloader unlock procedure so I can update as I want have been ignored. This policy continues with their new phones. This company does not deserve your business.

  • That sounds like the beginning numbers to the IMEI number please don't post the whole number. The serial number should be on the box as I don't remember seeing it on the sticker under the battery.

  • I have LG G4, but experiences signal issue usually. When dail a contact number, " Emergency call only" option is appeared on screen, even with full signal. Any solution to this problem please.

  • Hi, I have looked at the serial number, it startswith 357.... is this serial number ok or not?,

  • Remove the battery and you should see S/N. That's the serial number.

  • Hi, which model is it?, and what is the serial number?, if you could answer me , thanks.

  • My LGg4 serial no starts with 359, is this serial no fine?it is LGG4 H815.

  • 2017 is about to end and still no nougat update ! Shame on LG .. First bootloop issue and now no updates .. This is my 3rd LG device and will be my last LG. LG ? NEVER again !

  • My LG G4 finally broke down..I believe its the boot loop issue..price for repairing a factory defect is a staggering 13,000 pesos exclusive of labor and diagnostic fee😰😡

  • I have in mind to buy d lg v30 but with what this one is doing to me right now, I will never buy lg phone again, this phone is not up to 2 months that I bought it and it's rebooting and booting, I don't even have money to buy another phone.

  • pls I need help,my lg g4 is rebooting and booting over and over again, I was using it to play game when it started this evening, I have formatted it twice but yet it is doing the same thing, pls help me

  • Check the serial number, if it starts with 50x you better be worried. If it starts with 51x you might have to worry and if it starts with 6xx you should be fine.

  • I have bought LGG4 H815 (global version) on ebay, brand new in october, 2017, since that time I have been using it, but I have not faced any problem, it is a great mobile in features, but the quality, as too many people talk about is of low quality, that is a big concern, which it may suffer from bootlooping after one year of continous usage, so far mine is running very well for more than two and half months.

  • Yes. Don't expect updates.

  • Seriously save your energy just suck it up and get a new phone.

  • check it by lg bridge

  • disappointment about G4 updates !!!

  • Mine Boot looped today. There's a law suit in the works. Google LG G4 law suit

  • my friend's LG G4 bootlooped few days ago S/N 602 ... mine is S/N609 My question is ....Is there any lg g4 safe from bootloop issue?? Did LG really fix the bootloop issue in 2016 or even 2017 ??? or Did LG cotinue manufucturing same motherboards with the same defect but with newer S/N's??

  • the same happened to me... but i didnt waste my time with them, i just throw the goddamm phone and get a new one. it sucks!!!

  • hi guys we should complaint on lg company . they released already 7.0 update but just for korea and Poland wtf. no other market or country as they did we also paid for the phone and we have marshmallow when people have 8.0 - 8.1 and further more low - midrange devices has 7.1 f---k lg

  • U r not finished I can fix that for you

  • I called LG Canada and was told to send it back for a free motherboard replacement! Problem solved.

  • I bought my LG G4 less than a year ago. It suddenly stopped. After going to repair shop authorized by LG in Colombo Srilanka they said it is motherboard problem and they don't have software to work with. Most probably it is bootloop and LG don't want to attend it. I promise I will never ever buy LG phone anymore.

  • I can't on my lg g4 hotspot pls somebody tell me how to on it, I can't even upgrade d phone, if I enter upgrade it will say connect to wireless

  • will there be an Android update to the LG G4 H815? Currently it's on 6.0, however applications are now starting to lag behind.

  • LG G4 Almost 2 years old, only heats up other that that no problems!!! Still love this phone. Considering the G6 for upgrade. Anything I should know about the G6??

  • My LG g4 don't power on after i have change a slightly used battery. Pls somebody help me

  • I'm finish !!! I just bought fairly used LG4 last 3days ago then I try to upload files from other phones using xender or flash share but the hotspot refused to turn ON to connect with others phones, ist fault or what? Please someone should help. Thanks!

  • I'm finish!!! I just bought LG4 4days ago then I try to upload files from other phones using xender or flash share but the hotspot refused to turn ON to connect with others phones, ist fault or what?? Please someone should help me. Thanks!

  • check this out

  • My lg g4 hotspot is notworking, how do I fix it

  • If you have no problems with it and you are still very happy with it,than ignore LG G6 and wait for LG G7. If you like selphies, our😎phone may have better camera than G6. Atleast when it comes to Megapixels:8Mp G4 vs 5Mp G6 I imagine it will come out somewhere in the first half of 2018. If it proves to expensive or not to your taste, there is always G6 and probably a lot cheaper by then.

  • Honestly I'm so pissed off & disillusioned about this phone. Bought this phone in Jan this year & it was excellent. Performance was great, superb camera, fm radio, ir blaster, removable battery. There was nothing to hate about the phone till last month it froze on me & went into the perpetual bootloop. And LG wouldn't repair it under warranty cause it was supposedly water damaged. Regardless it's their damn fault for the bootloop, nothing to do with the water damage

  • I first saw this phone when my son bought one, and he gave me a 'tour' of all it's uses, and I was so impressed that I bought one too. I like taking pictures and found that the quality of the result is awesome. Don't take my word for it, try this phone for yourself! I recommend this phone to everyone, and hope you enjoy this phone as much as I do ;)

  • After bootloop issue and no support, LG never again.

  • Had this phone over 24 months with no problems. Its been dropped countless times with the screen still intact. Hands down the best phone i have owned so far after getting used to the size coming from a htc one mini. One thing i would like to seriously praise LG for would be that normally after 12 months phones start to slow down or freeze but i have never had this issue. Now going to dabble with the google pixel XL but i will come back to LG in the future no doubt.

  • hi, I had the same problem some months ago. Camera always stopping with errors, more and more often. Also I've tried many camera apps. It's the motherboard failing. I brought my phone to the nearest assistance center and after two weeks they returned it to me with a new motherboard. Now working flawlessy, never had other hangs or problems

  • The phone was amazing but it's died after 2 months, I mean the built is real shit don't buy it even M not gonna buy any LG phone in my life :(

  • LG G4 is good cell but it have a problem with the software when u cell software is out with new instillation the phone is Dead.

  • check and do like this and thank me later ->

  • I loved this phone until it just died the other day, after about 2 years with no problems. Wish it had lasted longer.

  • How do we fix camera has stopped issue on lg g4 My camera is always failing

  • i buy this cellphone a little more than a year ago and now is failure. It is a problem in all micro snapdragon 808. his repair will now leave $ 225. very sad. it´s a fantastic phone but only lives 1 year.

  • 2 years with a phone and no problems, still very happy, but damn, i want G6 :(

  • here the same problem with me and when I go some shops all shopkeeper said many g4 are here and same problems alls now he said sell in dead phones

  • I bought my LG G4 from ebay 8 months ago. Since yesterday suddenly it stops. The phone is dead. I went for repair shop and they say it is the motherboard and I have to replace motherboard. I have no warranty. I don't know what to do.

  • Once out of warranty LG will still fix. My phone had same problem and they replaced the board for $70 and is now like new at 2.5 years old. Contact them and they will send you a shipping box and label.

  • LG G4 is junk. My son's G4 just would not boot anymore after 2 years. Repairman told me its the CPU. I'm avoiding LG cellphone.

  • whats the version of your LG G4 ?

  • LG G4 is a completely failed mobile phone. I will just say good luck LG. Nothing else.

  • You guys are very unlucky. Or maybe I am lucky. 2 years with my G4 and still it”s an amazing phone. Probabbly I will change it when will be launched G8.

  • Would be a great phone if it wasn't for the bootloop issue. I am raging after spending so much money on it and now having to wait a week for them to fix it and send it back!!!! Sort yourself out LG. Seriously.

  • Shitty, shitty phone. It will die, I can guarantee it. My G4 died, friends G4 died, all my friends had G3, all died. Bootloop bound to happen!!! STAY AWAY!!!!

  • So halarious you've had to replace so many parts yet you are still so happy. LG dreams all g4 users would be as happy as you.

  • Love G4. Been using for more than 2 years. Great camera especially night shots. LG UI is easy to use too. Battery life could be better though. Have changed mainboard under warranty, and changed new screen (burnout), new battery, and in a few days new power & volume button. Compared night shots with Samsung S8 and LG G4 is not far off....very happy!

  • This was my first lg phone and probably the last one. Despite the fact that G4 has over heating problem and red shadows appearing on screen even with simple web browsing, one thing that really bothers me is the liying about the updates. I mean WTF DUDE. Who do you thing you are? You release the updates just for your people?!!! This is f****'d up. I encourage people to stop buying from this company.

  • Really love this phone. My only problem with this is the overheating which affects battery life. Other than that I wish I knew what's causing the excessive heat. 😞

  • wrong. lg is stupid cz support is bad, and people wont buy them

  • in the way that lg is delivering updates by 2 half 2019 we will gte nougat it is a shame that over a year the os venison was 7.0 and even devices like j7 are getting 7.1 .... and our devices g4 is a flagship grade ... what can I say it was consider like that but for Poland and korea ... no usa or any other country .... not even the unlock version ( global ) ... well this g4 will be like original g flex only got 1 mayor update from jelly to kit kat and from lolli - marsh us.... even g3 is marshmallow what a shame.

  • hope you can read or be notified lg but your support sucks when don't ask for be the 1 updating a cell phone with 1rst mayor update when on the last mayor you don't deliver it to any body but just Poland and korea thanks .. android is on 8.1 already and we still 6.0 what a shame being fooled by Samsung midranges such j7 I paid premium price for a premium phone in order to secure updates ... shame on you

  • I dont know what yalls problem is but I have had the Verizon G4 for over a year now and it is a great phone its very fast, very responsive, GREAT CAMERA/S. Never any issues what so ever. I HOPE that we can only get the OREO update, DO you hear me VERIZON? Hundreds of thousands of people would like OREO on the G4.

  • my LG G4 does'nt support upload from play store and google play. please help

  • Biggest fail in smartphones history.

  • Officially the worst phone that was ever created. Gone through 3 devices, all of them had bootloop problems and I had to move one. It was so frustrating. Never going back to LG, ever again.

  • LG is not stupid and want you to buy their new smartphones, just like every other brand.

  • LG will never learn. I'm still waiting for my Nougat update and it's already outdated. Probably no nougat update and no security update for my G4.. LG will forever be in my black list.

  • Yes true it's nearly six years since I had brought lg OG. We in India still waiting for a complete update from LG so that the LG g4 becomes volte ready. What's the fun of releasing update if it doesn't provide the basic functionality to users. And on top of that lg g4 has bootloop issues and to add to the story even never models g5 has aslo popping up with bootloop issues. This way companies can't retain the credibility. It's bad and leaves an impression

  • :: LG G3 :: Android 4.4.2 (KitKat), upgradable to 6.0 (Marshmallow) and LG G4 : Android 5.1.1 (Lollipop), 6.0 (Marshmallow), planned upgrade to 7.0 (Nougat) release 2015 Apr and now 2017 Oct ? 2.5 year, phone with 2 years old never gives new update unless in rare cases , never ever in google devices . just a security update is ok , or update change g3 ui to g5 ux . which is current LG UI ,,,,, just why ? at least LG G4 is stable in rom , unless the battery's drains

  • That was nearly 6 years ago. LG Optimus G was my first love from LG. I wanted that phone so badly but it wasnt available in my country. With LG Optimus G, LG tried to enter the competition and they made and excellent device that could compete Samsung's Galaxy S3, but they failed to launch it outside Korea and USA, and even bad history of LGs slow updates caught E975. LG G2 was the real winner, with it LG succeeded and finally was able to compete with Samsung. Now, LG is not that slow with updates, they usually manage to release update before Samsung. LG G4 received Marshmallow 1 month after Android 6.0 was actually released and it was the fastest update. You can check Android Authority update tracker and see that LG released updates a lot faster than Samsung did for their phones that were released at the same time as LG's.

  • Hassan, you'll have to google for poorly coded game app or maps maybe. Possibly a logger in the background. Clear cache on each app, maybe disable Google core, playstore, reboot.. play around a bit. Sometimes a virus from a website can make a number change, but have doubts storage is really full..

  • I was once an lg lover since I got lg e975 in my hand and after it came lg g2. What made me switch to some other brand is slow updates to its premium devices. I waited for two years for an update to my LG e975 although it was the Samsungs rival..... Lg for God's sake learn from the past and learn how to keep your customer base happy and motivated... At least if u fail to provide software updates provide a path of firmware to make your devices volte ready so that your customers aren't pushed to buy new handsets which obviously won't be lg

  • I want to know how many sim is there in this phone. Single or dual sim

  • I want to know how many sim is there in this phone.

  • After wifi when system normal sim not showing .Have u any anser.

  • how can i get a battery like yours of 3800 ma could i have that battery info ? i would apreciate ur help

  • Use G4 already 2years. Awesome device, as many people complain about bootloop, it never happen to my G4, so i don't care. I change my 3000mA battery to 3800mA, which cost me 8euros :D so G4 actually works like new. Performance still perfect on android 6.0.

  • Nougat update for LG H818N ?

  • dear all . kindly I would like to inform you that I have (LG G 4 ) nice phone and I have problem with storage always full and I try to move the app to my memory and I cant and there s no game no audio sometimes I cant take photo because full please try to help me

  • I got this phone when it came out and got a boot loop problem. Then switched to a galaxy s5. But when i broke my s5 and tried the s6 i hated the galaxy phones because they just weren't as good as the g4. I eventually went back to a g4 and have been using it again without any problems . The price and performance of the g4 is crazy. If you want performance the g4 is better by alot vs same flagship phones in its generation. Most people dont keep these older phones more than a year anyways. Lg has problems but so do other phones, for me as a techy guy the g4 has more pros than cons easily, no problems here 2nd time around.

  • I have used this cell phone just for one week. I have very bad experience abut this shit phone. I recommend every one not to spend your precious money to buy this phone.

  • I had this phone for about one year. The phone is totally good. very good camera, very good performance but the battery draining fast and this one the problem I faced every day

  • I am using this phone since nearly two years. After one year i got the bootloop problem. After it they repaired it but the internal storage was clear -bye bye notes :( then sometimes the camera doesnt work and actually i got the problem that my display gets black/dark and i can't do anything. Remember - i bought it two years ago...anyways the camera makes good photos and the performance is good. I still dont recommend to buy this phone.

  • I have H815 too but doesn't get update. How did you do?? I tried LG Bridge too

  • I'm using LG g4 h815 in India I've got update of 7.0 via LG bridge pc software . Is it ok to update it in India ?? As it is not the model that is sold in India

  • mine is dual, great phone

  • Hi frnds this phone single sim or dual sim???

  • Same :(

  • Superb phone, gorgeous design, just slightly curved to not scratch the screen when you place it face-down on the table (or when it hits the ground), with a classy black leather back without any branding (that also helps you feel the orientation of the phone in the pocket), extremely customisable (only try some of the b/w themes), a phone that has no scratch after 2 years of using it without any screen protector or case. Just the phone, thrown face-down on the table after each call, pushed in/out of pocket, heavily stressed the screen answering tons of emails daily. Only consider that this phone, released more than 2 years ago, still goes strong spec-wise against the current mid-top range: if you put a filter on 5-5.5", 3-4GB, 3000+mAh, 1080p+, 32GB+, this one shows up in the search now, September 2017, and it was released in April 2015. Eh? And it looks good/original comparing to all these new identically-looking rectangles with round corners, same front and back, extremely glossy and, with a few exceptions, with massive branding on the back, for everybody to notice how much you've paid on your indistinct expensive phone (that looks different than somebody's else expensive one only by carrying another word or, sometimes, a fruit or so). I'm only thinking to buy a replacement battery cause, while my G4 still holds a day of charge, it's not like in the beginning, now I keep it with the screen dimmed to get home with 30-40% battery. Lucky me, the battery is replaceable and costs about €10. In my opinion, the only other phones that achieved the same coolness, look/feel and stand the test of time were HTC One M7 and M8.

  • Don't buy this phone. Save yourself from the G4 bootloop problem. Mine bootlooped after 1year and 7 months. $500 loss. I'm not buying anything LG again.

  • I wonder when will the Lg will roll out android 7.0 for the G4, why all that delay for?

  • Yes f500s

  • lg g2 is better than g4

  • Have G4 two years now. Never had problems. But I was always afraid. And because the battery life and overheating issue (I don't play games) while using camera, FB or navigation, I moved to Samsung. I had many apps on G4, more than 80 and after two years of use it was lagging. After I bought the S8, I only used the G4 as second phone, factory resseted it, fewer apps, w-/out 4G, only WiFi and BT and with one full charge it lasts 1-2,5 days, depending the use. LG has nice feature and loved the rear buttons. But connecting to 4G/4G+ it just drains the battery. UI needs serious optimisation. But Samsung has better UI, because I manage to end a day with only a full charge. But I miss the double tap to wake the phone.

  • Is your G4 a Korean version???

  • Take out batteries

  • I got the September security patch for my bootlooping g4. I thought they never send any updates after nougat, but it looks like still they keep updating this device. Surprise

  • I've read many comments on this forum, and I can say that my LG G4 has been perfectly in service for almost two years, and it has a 507 motherboard. Maybe in a more recent time I switch to the LG G6 if this phone breaks down. I have no objections to the operation of this phone. A few months ago he stayed in the car and in the car was very warm and he went out alone. I thought it would not work anymore, but since then there have been no problems. Greeting

  • You are one of the few lucky ones. 99% people having problem with this phone.

  • Would have been a nice phone if not for the bootloop feature. This is my last LG phone. The S6 is nice, but I'm not buying LG again.

  • I am using Lgg4 since 1.5 years and I have to say, its a phantastic phone! Great Display, phantastic camera...best around! Even better than iphone 7! It supports heavy work on the phone, never crashes. It works as on first day. Only battery starts going down now. I would always suggest Lg!

  • I thought I made a good buy, well, NOPE LG should make a massive recall, it is 100% their fault Do not buy

  • After changin motherboard it works perfectly

  • LG uses to leave devices with bootloop issues. The best example after our G4 is the V20, which was presented just one year ago. I think we won't receive any Nougat update

  • How do i switch off flash light when incoming call come in

  • It is 100% sure it already bootlooped. Dont waste money on battery. Don't waste money to repaire or replace motherboard .Believe me i suffered the same issue. I have read in internet this issue keep comming back even though you replace the board. The only thing you can do is heat the motherboard using an iron to its maxm heat for 15 min( heavy iron is ideal as it apply pressure on chipset while heating). Keep the iron on top of main 2cpu. Then let it cool 30min. Then take a peace of paper and bend it to make thickness same to atm card( may be little more than that). Then place it between display and main chip and assemble the phone. This method works for me for 5days. Then need to repeat.even after this if your phone fail to boot, try with plugging charger. If it boot with charger that mean you have bootloop plus bad battery. I have been using this for 1.5 month using this method.you can find youtube videos to see practically

  • Have you tried changing your battery?

  • Hi , I've been using my Lg g4 with Nougat update for 1 week now.. everything works fine. battery last for 2 days in stand-by mode but drains fast when I using the phone. Mine is a Korean version. :)

  • One of the best device i used, Superb display, Great camera, no laggy.over all everything perfect. but after some months of usage battery drains faster. But im unlucky, i used this phone only up to 1 year and a month, after that phone goes to critical stage.when i switch on logo only appears in screen. As i heard LG G$ have issues named loop booting. Even the warranty is over i will not get replacement. Now the phone is with me without any usage.

  • this is weird mine is doing it too . im on lg g4 us991 unlocked version MM os , I wonder what is this about maybe the sensor that controls it is defective, I tried to fix it like it used to happen with my old lg g2 but hidden menu didn't work . .. it works perfectly fine screen is responsive and has no dead spots but weird that it some times laying down on a table screen turns on by it self...could be possessed

  • I did and I also downgraded to LL. The problem remained and I updated to MM

  • Have you factory reset the phone.

  • Mine was ghost touch just before the bootloop. Ghost touch is an indication of future bootloop according to my experience. So dont waste money on this again as you already change your motherboard. I have seen in some forums people who have replaced the board, also vulnerable to bootloop again.

  • Cyber NwLM6 hours ago I have been using Lg G4 for a while and have updated to Nougat.... Its still works fine. Download LG bridge in other to get nougat updates...still a good phone What do you mean download lg bridge in other? I've tried again but no update. please help.

  • I have been using Lg G4 for a while and have updated to Nougat.... Its still works fine. Download LG bridge in other to get nougat updates...still a good phone

  • Much better camera from samsung J7

  • Anybody suffered ghost touch? I owned new motherboard replacement unit from bootloop. Any solution or need to change the lcd touchscreen??

  • My knock on hasn't worked since july

  • This is the first sign of bootloop that's going to occur soon. I've seen that on my LG G4, now bricked, in bootloop.

  • I'm also a G4 customer burned by LG over bootloop shortly after warranty expired but it's really amazing to still see many comments about this. The V30 is the 5th flagship level phone they've released since the G4 and the bootloop issue is still haunting them, and it is somewhat deserved, too. They've really turned a lot of people off from their brand (myself included) and all they had to do was fix the problem, instead some bean counter at their HQ gave a PPT presentation to the board of directors stating the cost to fix the problem would be greater than the cost of lost customers so they chose to lose customers. It's really stunning to see how much this has probably affected their business. I recently relocated to another country and had to buy new appliances including a TV, guess what? Not one was a LG and it was all because of my horrible experience with their service center and my G4.

  • Is the korea made lgg4 is good or just a copy

  • They are testing V29a version for this model I think they will push V30 or V29 as well before Christmas

  • Very poor battery, last for less than a day ,hot when charging, phone become hot when data is on . Never buy lg phone when you need battery

  • I think there is no update to android nougat 7 for lg g4

  • Does this problem exists in Flex2

  • plz tell me about camera quality... I m samsung j7 user

  • when will update to 7.0 in Spain??

  • no one here has updated his lg g4 to nougat version .._people from Korea .... im curious because I saw on a web site a comment from some one stating that nougat camera is bad compared to marshmallow ... image lost sharpness ,..well I cant relay on 1 person information maybe his camera lens by time was dirty, maybe hand shake may be he is right ... but I need some one else point of view ..ild like to know it is worthy the wait or if it is a waste

  • I also and during long time has been alternate the G4 and the V20 until the G4 unfortunately die. I follow at present with a pair of V20's. Bad fate to the G4. It deserves a more fortunate history.

  • My LG 4 remains a fine phone that has been a good performer with no problems. It remains relevant here in 2017 as a great feature packed phone with all the features that made LG stand out from the rest of the herd. I alternatebetween this and my LG V20. Too bad LG has decided to follow the crowd and discontinue features like swappable battery, IR blaster, etc.

  • How is the Battery working after 7,0 update? better? worse? or the same as with 6,0 android?

  • lg g4 noughat which version?

  • Lg in this device and G5 device not have any cooling system installed. That is main problem for bootloop. After some time cpu slow died and first loose conntact with mainboard. First stronger cores died.Slower cores can work long time if you don't playing games, watching videos and dont have 15 apps which work in same time. Cpu load kill him.

  • is there some one who has tested the camera quality and performance after nougat update thanks

  • G4 is very good cellphone he is not and hanging just the disease is directly Dead

  • the beast is unleash with this phone !!!

  • Why can't my phone receive or send pictures or stickers

  • Buy a sealed LG G4 H812 Canadian handset. Trt to get a phone that's manufactured in 2016. P.S. I too have the same handset and YES I am a proud Pakistani. Alhamdulillah!

  • Please give link to underclocking. I have model f500s

  • Went into bootloop ten days after warranty expired. Not fair especially because the problem is LG's fault and they admitted it. They should help everyone that has experienced the same problem. Never buying LG product ever again and advise everyone to do the same.

  • the phone gets hot when charging

  • M from Pakistan which version is good to me

  • i can say that lg g4 us991 2016 as for now works fine for me. doesn't overheat . id recommend it. if you in the usa don't get confused this model is usa carrier based too but there is a variant that lg use in the use in order to replace the h815. this us991 is bloatware free and has nothing to do with uscellular branding., it is good for cdma and gsm usage.

  • H815, because that is the international version, H810 is probably T-Mobile or something

  • I think it is likely to have 99.99%

  • In Europe warranties last for 2 years. I got mine 1 month ago and is a 2015 july phone. Serial 505.

  • Have some one who got android 7.0 ? Can he tolk about this update ?

  • I got the June-July 2015 LG G4 H812 Canada version. No issues whatsoever.

  • Someone tells me that lg g4 2016 manufacturer has bootloop issue???

  • Every phone has a flaw, like battery drain, camera issues, getting hot, but this is the worst flaw I ever seen in a smartphone, this is not just another flaw, this is a disaster, unfortunately this going to happen after more than 1year of usage , hence warranty is over. Please don't try to justify lg.

  • I just read there was an attempted class action suit for LG G4 bootlooping. It was turned down but in that article I read you can contact LG and they will fix the issue even if it's out of warranty. Some comments confirmed this.

  • Bootlooping is a common problem with the G4 model. Every phone has a flaw, trust me, and this phone's flaw is it's motherboard. It's the component failing and causing bootloop. Only possible solution is replacing it. I've heard many people had this issue, as it's a factory made mistake with the motherboards (possibly a bad weld or something simular). It happened to mine too, but after replacing I had no problems with it ever since. If your phone is covered by warranty or insurance, get it fixed as soon as possible. Beside this issue, it's a great phone after all. Anyhow, good luck with your phone.

  • my phone is bootlooped. my model is f500s. if somebody know the method of big core disabling process , show me a link at least to try something.

  • after 1 year of use boot loop a very bad bad phone

  • As many other users after 9-10 month got bootloop.

  • It was a faulty version, you can change it for free if you have a reciept and relevant docs.

  • very bad phone after 2 month`s it was damege need to change the motherbord bescse it has very bad CPU

  • Love my LG G4 but it is proving unreliable so I'm just checking in with other LG G4 owners to see how you've been getting on with yours? Earlier on this year it developed "bootloop" and LG repaired it under warranty, but I was without my phone for a couple of weeks while it was sorted. And now it has started having problems connecting to the internet. LG have offered to look at it again but I'm starting to wonder if I should just get something more reliable. The phone is nearly 18 months old now but only gets light and careful usage so I had expected it to last a bit longer. Perhaps that is the expected lifespan of these phones?

  • bro dnt buy this phone. i had a bootlop prb within 6 months of usage and LG doesn't fix this issue because its a hardware prb.

  • This phone was amazing I loved owning it. The button placement was great, the camera was amazing, and I never ran out of storage. But after a year of owning it for no apparent reason it just died. but I would love to own it again if ever possible

  • I Have the same problem of bootloop if I change it's motherboard from service centre ,will it happen again?

  • Not really. I have the phone for nearly two years now and it still works like a charm. The only problem is the battery life, but it can easily be fixed with an extended one.

  • has any one experienced issues with knock on feature... after along time being in sleep mode if I tie to double tab doesn't work but after I turn on the screen and then put on on sleep mode and try again it works fine ....

  • why are there so many pop-up ads

  • i hate this phone..the selling point is just the camera. poor battery. heating issues. it lags while playing games.

  • I have the same problem, my phone afterv one year has a bootloop problem and i payed 175$ for LG to repar it

  • I have also the same problems like can't uninstall installed apps can't access the security option.. When trying both of these phone restarting and the battery is worst it's getting only 90 minutes on screen. .. Mine is 811 model Suggestions please

  • 815

  • I will be upgrading from my old L90 to the G4 I found for $100 like new. I chose this phone because it is listed on the LineageOS device page.

  • bad phone after six month use this phone i have boot loop problem and keep restarting (mother board problem ) and the price to fix it cost 150 dollar i throw it in my room useless mobile

  • I have the same problem bro

  • h 810

  • should i but h810 or h815? i'm from pakistan pls suggest..

  • Will I be able to solve this problem if i flash and convert the G4 to global version?

  • V10 faces the same three issues. Probably the fault lies in the At&t software.

  • Exactly bro. This phone is a retro-tech masterpiece (if it's working alright lol). The design of the G4 is one of the most unique ones. We don't a damn about screen bezels and such posh-polish stuff. All we care is about its user-friendly UI and fast processing. I got this... no battery or heatup issues. Best!!

  • I'm facing 3 issues in my new LG G4 H810 AT&T version. 1. Can't connect hotspot. Shows authentication failed. 2. Can't setup a pin, knock or password in lockscree(shows unfortunately lock screen has stopped) 3. Can't unistall the downloaded apps. Phone starts to restart and the uninstall doesn't take place. Pls someone help me. In a terrible situation.

  • Been reading that, like mine, a bunch of these just suddenly shut off and will not restart. No power on. No recovery mode. Nothing. I liked the phone. I'm not sure if I have any options to get it repaired. It's out of warranty but since I purchased it with me American Express card I might have an option through them. Just need to find my receipts.

  • I have this smartphone for 6 months now, and I am VERY PLEASED with it. No problems at all. It does everything amazing, as it should. Great phone! Upgraded from teh LG G3 and it is a great improvement.

  • if any one is interested in getting lg g4 don't get carrier version or international if your carrier is compatible with usa carrier networks then buy the lg g4 us991 version release by april 2016 or above. even the international has been discontinued , maybe the usa model has some kind of hardware revision guess because while reading comments on this blog most of people relating issues are for carrier version sor international but I have not seen still a us991 comment or if so then it is pretty much near to zero. don't be confuse the own lg is selling the same version as the uscellular carrier but unlocked and no carrier bloat it is completely lg apps only

  • No.

  • Split screen issue - threw it in the bin

  • i just bought one and now im doubting my decision due to the comments what do you say anon? did i make a bad decision?

  • Factory reset the phone and you will be surprised.

  • It is Canadian version h812

  • this is one of the worst phone and i wasted my money. I will never and ever buy LG phones and will never recommend any one. Battery and heating issue is terrible, changed charger but never made any difference, don't know when they will update to VoLTE as well

  • may i know , did you root your LG G4 ?

  • may i know your LG G4 version ?

  • yeah the canadian seems like in a good condition , just felt warmer when it reach above 41 celsius but it never gone above 46 celsius . the battery is still okay even after two year of usage . my battery date is june 2015 . still alive but im planning to buy a replacement battery . any suggestion ? original LG US didnt provide shipment for other country .

  • Have the same Canadian G4 handset. No issues whatsoever. This is probably the best G4 model so far.

  • mine was LG G4 H812 canada ,as now , so far the overheating issue just felt it warmer but never popups the overheating notification , the battery drainage i think its not so severe , it will last 15-16 hour on standby and overall 6 hour on screen playtime . my concern is , the bootloop issue , hopefully my LG will continue to live ... please pray for it , its been two years since july 2015 . really love the camera and the screen , also its business class design , just nice . but the battery .... the struggle is hard man ..

  • Do u live in Ottawa area Satish? Use to live in London area where yr parents may be still living? Thanks!

  • Managed to sort the bootloop. Mine was not that severe though, i got a minute or two of ussage before the "oveheating" msg, somethimes it didnt even boot. ROOTing the phone and underclocking / disabling the big cores made the problem go away. Even with underclocked cores phone is working very good ! But still angry at LG, never again!

  • G4 H812 Canadian

  • which model

  • My LG G4 was made back in July-August 2015. No bootloop, no battery drainage or heatup issues. Working topnotch and UI screen touch is smooth as silk.

  • Facebook + Facebook Messenger only god knows which phone supported by Battery Point Extreme Application Size and Extreme Battery Eater

  • those who had bootloop issues .....were your LG G4 units produced before or after Jan-2016??

  • My LG G4 got a boot-loop as well. My warranty expired in October 2016. So, I called the LG to see how much it would cost to fix that. They told me that boot loop repairs are free of charge. They paid for shipping. Today, after less than two weeks I got the phone back. It works great. The only complain is that it's IMEI changed and it is locked again to Koodo (the original provider). I had to pay 6.99 CAD to unlocked it.

  • no doubt it's a beautiful phone, but avoid it like the plague due to really bad QC on LG's part doesn't matter what model you get it's a time bomb waiting to happen

  • What are you running? Have you got Facebook installed? Mine is about a year old, doesn't get hot.

  • Apple and Samsung sucks too because they're much hyped with their price tag lol. Don't put a veil of what happened to the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 *BLEWED OFF*... "alteast bootloop is safe and doesn't risk your life" P.S. Nothing is perfect and everything and every one of us has flaws. *POOP and PISS* are flaws too in case you might act as a narcissistic LOL.

  • It started with the terrible batter life (from day one), after 10 days first "OVERHEATING" mesage. After 2 weeks it is bootlooping due to overheating. It is hard to belive that they made a flagship model that is faulty. SHAME SHAME SHAME ! LG NEVER AGAIN !

  • This phone sucks. It absolutely sucks. The first one I had randomly stopped working completely while I was using it as navigation for foodservice deliveries. They sent me a new one. Now, mine dies every time I try to take a picture. My advice? Opt for a Samsung. Itll be better to you, I promise.

  • bootloop after just 9 months !! shame LG This is the end LG never again

  • LG G4 H812 (Canada)

  • same as mine... split screen h811

  • Generally LG could have been the best brand on earth but the batteries.I got the H810 AT&T bt here in Africa the internet connection is poor.bt the rest are fine

  • Can you please tell your LG G$ Model..?

  • I was very happy with my lg G4 until it developed split screen issues. Now it's an expensive brick. Caution.

  • Bootloop issue. LG never again.

  • H815 is European I guess... I got an H812 Canadian refurbished one I guess... it's carrier-free except the fact it has no radio feature. I can live without that. H818 might be from Lower American regions like you said. You should look it into G4 specs.

  • G4 H810 is the AT&T model (wich I own and is completely full of stock AT&T useless apps). The G4 H818 is another model (I think is the brazilian model, but not sure).

  • Multi-layered lens make up the total focal/ aperture length of its primary camera (rear).

  • Excuse me, in the "primary camera" specifications, where it says: 16 MP, f/1.8, 28 mm, what does the quantity 28 mm refer to? I'm pretty confused, because both sensor size and focal length are just a few mm size (about 4 mm each one).

  • The second website to check both your IMEI as well as your the phone's blacklist status: imeipro.info

  • Go to Setting > About Phone >... ^ Here you will find a 15 digit IMEI number. Remember, every phone has it's unique IMEI number. Go to imei.info and put your IMEI code to check your phone model and further details. So if you are looking to buy a used phone from somebody. Ask for the phone's IMEI code first. If the IMEI code matches to the phone he is having, it means it is a genuine model handset. Otherwise, the phone is fake if it gives an 'invalid IMEI' on the website.

  • What difference between original g4 and copy plz tell me I'm confused.

  • Yes bro we will bw getting it soon, as LG has rolled out Android Nougat for some of the G4 models. But I will stay in the safe-zone with Marshmallow for some months before some reviews getting out of how G4 is performing with the Nougat version. Not upgrading it until October.

  • I have this android phone for a while and I have to say even now i don't really have issues with it. It's still didn't even slow down. However the battery is slower but hey thanks to LG i can replace battery without any problem thanks LG :). Buu new Samsung and IPhone from battery side. OK let's go back to lg xD. I have quite a lot of apps and sometimes I run a lot of them at same time and still it work's fine. I just hope we will get android 7 on it :).

  • Im really worried about the bootloop should i buy it or not

  • I bought my Lg G4 2 days ago. Yes they still sell it on shops and i have 2 year warranty.

  • Bro I'm enjoying a used G4 H812 hanset for the last three weeks. No issues at all... IMEI and blacklist authenticity clearance. I watch movies for a prolong 50-60 mins and the battery drains hardly about 10%-12%. I might be those rarest lucky ones. ;)

  • Not many phones resist two years at the summit without becoming antique. The G4 are one of them. But the bootloop has been they hard handicap.

  • 818 is dual SIM and 810 is single SIM

  • Exaxtly bro! LG G4 specs are pretty much high-end. Especially when it comes to the screen's ppi and camera, G4 can beat any 2017 good brand phone anytime. Using it and it's great.

  • LG G4 is certainly much better than Xiaomi. It is only ment for Chinese. Once you reset the phone, you will have hard time in installing applications. Google play Store is not pre installed.

  • What the difference of g4818 g4810 model? Pls. Somebody tell me..

  • The update to Nougat already started in Poland, hoping to get it within weeks

  • How do you check the serial number. Is it different from the imei number

  • Nah! It's all about one's perception and usage. YouTube is a great source getting along. I said apps are useless... you can use firefox or google browser for fb and such.

  • when nougat update is coming on lg g4 ?

  • My LG G4 has boot loop issue and it costs as much as a new phone to fix it. No LG phones anymore, lesson learnt hard!!!

  • Without fb, Twitter and messenger means 100 years behind technology

  • So the Nougat update is working perfectly for the G4?... I recommend you wait for G7 to arrive next year or so. :)

  • Bought it new and has never failed me...Got the updates and its fantastic phone...Worth every penny and when this one gets tired I will go with a G6 or newer in the future...Great phones and priced right...

  • I was pretty excited for the G4 to be receiving the Nougat update. But I guess it would be a risky thing to update my G4. According to LG, there might be some compatibility issues with the 2015 flagship phone - stating that G4 users will be responsible for themselves if anything goes wrong with their handsets. Lest I don't have the bootloop or any other problem. Looks like I'm going to stick with Marshmallow - still a great Android version.

  • Official Lg G4 nougat V30b F500l model showing all the new features .

  • lg has started to update lg g4 in korea crossed fingers in Colombia / usa so we can see it soon. live in Colombia but my device is the usa variant

  • You should try the ILAPO fix, it disables the big A57 cores which it causes the heat and bootloop, for some people it's the definitive solution for that problem though it disables the big cores and the performance it's reduce for complex apps and games... but if you don't mind that you can use ILAPO. You can find it in XDA and in YouTube tutorials.

  • G4 is an underworld winner... incase the bootloop gets you red-nosed cold. I would recommend anyone of the following around the budget of Xiaomi mi 5x: 1. Lenovo P2 2. Huawei P10 Lite 3. Moto G5 Plus

  • Which one is better. LG G4 or Xiaomi mi 5s?

  • Thanks I'll try

  • Try putting your phone alongside battery in a ziplock bag seperately into a refrigerator for 2-3 hours. If the problem persist, try finding anyone from your family or friends who have a 3000 mAh battery compatible with your G4 and so on and so forth. If your device works... you're good, otherwise looks like the infamous bootloop. Good luck!

  • My g4 is suffering from some kind of bootloop, i mean it doesn't always remain on lg logo, sometimes it boot up to home screen and phone works about 2-3 minutes and again restart, when it restart sometime it remains in lg logo but sometimes it boot upto home screen. I gave my phone to a technician, he ask me to replace the battery first. Also my battery is not good, it drain quickly when i use it, and it is 2 years old. I don't know whether im suffering from common boot loop or a battery issue. I have a doubt to spend money on battery too. Please give me an opinion

  • I live in Pakistan so yeah from here. 10-15% to be exact for a good 40 mins. The secret behind this is that I've never kept my phone in my pocket - always in bag, never charged the battery to a full dead-on 100%. Last but not the least... deleted Facebook, Messenger, and Twitter App.

  • From where..?

  • It's all about luck. Now look at me... using a Galaxy Grand Prime (2014) model right now. I bought it on 7-8 Jan, 2015. After all these years until now... I watch 35-45 mins YouTube videos or movies on it... my battery only dies a 10% out of 100% battery. Not a single lag and games could be played for a good 10-20 without no serious heatup issue. P.S. I hope my phone could make it through this year and the next. 2019 would be my next flagship year. :)

  • Sooner or later all G4 and V10 phones will bootloop eventually. It's a design / manufacturing flaw. You can also blame the cheap, poor quality compnents LG use in their phones.

  • since i had started LG G4 i am enjoying this device its a monster no issues so far no freezing or restarting its self just like other devices it is running smooth and fast no lagging Battery also good life i guess i am in luv with device

  • I can feel you to bro... But no one can disagree that this phone is high-tech usable until 2019. No upgradation required for a year or two... If the bootloop and battery heat up hadn't been the issue. This might be the most popular high-spec mid range phone in 2017. :)

  • Yup I know how you feel. I thought the whole bootloop thing was being blown out of proportion and thought my G4 would be safe after passing the 1-year mark. Nope. After 15 months of use (3 months after warranty expired) it bootlooped and went I through a very frustrating experience and multiple return visits to the LG service centre at my expense to get it fixed. The whole repair ordeal took 2 months and after several failed attempts to repair the pcb they ended up putting a whole new one in. I'm using a Samsung phone now while my repaired G4 sits in my desk on back-up phone duty now.

  • Oh yes definitely the handset is great! Looks like I got one of those rarest G4 phones that were refined correctly. Just keeping my fingers crossed and going with the flow. ;)

  • True, but it almost seems like a 60-40 scenario. It's not usually a matter of if but when it will bootloop. I thought that since a lot of them occur when the phone is under a year old i was safe but that wasn't the case. I guess you have a good handset.

  • Not every G4 has the bootloop problem. I just bought myself a used LG G4 H812 Canadian model. Everything is great! Phone is in neat condition. Yesterday I watched Despicable Me 3 for about 22 mins and my battery only went from 94% to 89%... I feel great to have it... quite fast and solid curve design. IT IS ALL ABOUT LUCK... I WAS LIKE LOOKING FOR AN EXPENSIVE PHONE for about a year, but always fell short of budget. Glad I got it in less than a 100 bucks. P.S. Got it for 99$ and feels great to have a flagship phone with such high specs in such a price.

  • My Dual Sim G4 bootlooped after a year and a half of use. It's quite a frustrating experience, loosing your phone like this is quite frustrating. I have lost all faith in LG and it really sets you back. I had to resort to taking it apart and using the quick temporary fixes on YouTube so i could sync my data. Strange thing is i thought because mine had gone past a year i was safe from bootloop but i was clearly wrong. LG needs to sort this out as i don't think i would ever buy another LG phone ever again.

  • i really love my phone and its doing well but the Korean version doesn't upgrade to android 6.0 i dont know what is the problem i been trying to upgrade for now its almost a year but its failing

  • Welcome.

  • Thanks Zubair for Info.

  • Last year when my phone was 1 year old boot loop occured. Thank god got replacement of motherboard for free of cost. Exactly after a year again boot loop problem. This year i spent 6000 rupees to change mother board again. Hope it will not happen again.

  • how to check and verify imei and genuine ?

  • Oh yes!! After the Nougat update it would be more stunning. I bought this 10/10 clean G4 in 99.13 US$. Yay!! Looks like I'm free to look for a phone intil 2019. :)

  • And luckily soon updated to Android Nougat ! !

  • Just got a second hand G4 around 100 bucks... mint condition and battery life is great too. No bootloop of battery drainage problem. Design is topnotch and I feel lucky to get a neat high-spec phone with such an economical price. P.S. I even checked its IMEI code. The phone was genuine. :)

  • why my lg g4 is only 3g network??? my samsung s3 is more better than this.. but lg poor connection..

  • Could have easily been one of the best phones out there if not for the below average battery and the ever famous bootloop.

  • So true!!!!! Had the same problem...no one could repair.!

  • yes,its integrated in the software

  • Nice to hear that, thanx

  • Thus serial number is EMIE number or some other

  • Hi guys. Anyone know if without installed App the G4 can be used as torch ? Thanks in advance.

  • ur handset died bcoz it was in dead boot loop manufacture defect like all g3/g4/v10/v20 which were manufactured. Guys who use g4 from serial number 500-509 pls swap or sell if u can bcoz it will die anytime due to the death bootloop issue the issues hardware has been changed after sep 2015 with serial number staring from 600 are safe serial number (500-509) will die anytime so its a request if u dont wanna carry a brick in ur procket swap or sell asap.

  • DONT BUY IT. STAY AWAY FROM LG!!! Had a bootloop issue they said that it was caused by ,,mechanical damage". That ,,mechanical damage was few little paint bruises on one corner from holding it in the same pocket as my keys probably.

  • Okay Man. I definitely thought about buying this phone but now that I read your post I will not be buying it. Thank you!

  • I've had this phone for a few years now. I'll never buy another LG phone. When it works, it works great but I had to send it in 3-4 times for repairs. Now it's out of warranty and the accelerometer is dead again. Last time they had to replace the whole board. A smart phone that doesn't flip, when you turn it, is not that smart. Don't buy LG. Not a quality product. It's a shame because the market needs viable competitors to Samsung and Apple. My S3 still works perfectly.

  • plz don't buy this crap.i bought 5 months back and now its motherboard expires and dead....went for repair, they told me it can't be repaired.its just waste of money

  • I think this is one of the best specced phones out there that you can get new for £80.

  • Thanks for the Good News

  • The update to Android Nougat are scheduled by LG to the present month of July.

  • Will this device get nougat update? I have a Korean model (f500s) but now im using it outside the Korea. It is already in marshmallow without any hiccups no boot loop. Only thing to worry is battery drain fast.

  • LG G4 though is a mid-year 2015 G Series model of LG's major flagship model. Eventually, it has ventured remarkably to befit a well-earned place among high spec mid-ranger phones. Pros: Camera is awesome. Battery is decent and does not brag inbetween drainage or ultra long-lasting. Design of the G4 is gorgeous and beats the odds with its perfectly built peculiar body physique. Curved arched edges is elegantly eloquent. Crisp Display for videos/ movies. Gameplay is gadget gentle topnotch. Letting you enjoy cool games together with some cool cranked up 3 gigs ram. Cons: Came 2 years ago. Posh people want lavishing trinklets. Sorry! G4 is humble with technology and the admirers of calm casualness. G4 Will always have haters. The end. Period!

  • Come on it's 2017 why on earth would anyone still want to buy a G4. If you like LG then get a G5 (super cheap now) or a v20 (cheap).

  • Hey mate, as far as I know, LG never released G4 models without a risk of hitting the bootloop, they just made a new model to release and discontinued the G4. I actually bought one off of eBay and have copped the bootloop problem within two days. There is a solution that someone threw up on XDA ( ) which apparently fixes the issue. It's to do with the BGA solder on the CPU being of sub-par quality (like XBOX 360 red ring of death and early PS3 yellow light of death) and separating. This guy heats up the solder with a hair dryer to soften it and places a small, folded piece of paper between the motherboard and the screen to place pressure and lower the risk of the solder separating again.

  • I want to buy a g4. With a recent bootloop problem but all problems have been fixed Anyone think it is safe to do so

  • I'm annoyed reading almost only negative comments about the LG G4. Yes it's true, the bootloop issue means a bad reputation but to those unaffected are a model with decent audio, clear screen, top connectivity, removable battery and a camera what resist comparison with the latest highest levels.

  • Don't buy this stupid phone.overheating kills the phone soon.don't waste your money

  • Love the phone, its quick and the cameras are awesome and take amazing pics. Only issues i have are the battery drains quick which i will get a better 1 and the signal which i believe is just my area. I recommend this phone to anyone, mine is running 6.0 marshmellow very well also :)

  • Galaxy note 4 Lg g4 better only on camera

  • Note 4... the G4 most likely will get the Bootloop sooner or later, but it will happen.

  • Sadly the bootloop issue is the main reason not to buy this phone, if not for the bootloop... it could be a stellar phone even in 2017.

  • Is it a Good phone to buy Now in 2017 ? I really love it's camera features

  • First 2 months i got a virus and all my data were lost then after about 8 months i lost the motherboard and now after 1.5 year the battery sucks tje phone oberheats and turn off by itself and the touch is sooo bad Not adviced to buy this phone at all

  • as of today, my LG g4 still works like a rockstar, no issues, but the charger is gone, got burn. but the unit is still work perfectly, i will be updating this trend to prove javier wrong!

  • Happened to me too a few weeks ago, but was able to get it repaired under warranty (motherboard replacement).

  • Should I go for LG G4 or Galaxy Note 4?

  • Can I buy this phone even for 50$

  • unfortunately my LG G4 gets overheated and burn up after one and half year! every thing was ok but suddenly !!!!

  • My G4 just got stuck in the bootloop defect and after returning it to Verizon, they advised me to upgrade since my phone is almost 2 years old & I would have to pay $100 for a refurbished G4, even though I have insurance. So I upgraded to a G6 but they were unable to transfer all my data since the G4 wouldn't boot up. After doing a little research, I found out that there is a class action lawsuit against LG because they knew of this defect in the G4 but did nothing to warn consumers. They continued to sell the phones at full price and even offered refurbished phones to replace the ones returned. The refurbished phones had the same issue. If you have been a victim of LG and the defective G4, contact the law firm Girard Gibbs. Just do a search for Class Action Suit LG G4 and you will get all the info you need.

  • Avoid LG G4, it gets over heated and burn up, if you have warranty, then LG will replace MB but will take like 2 to 3 weeks, if waaranty is lost then say good bye to your G4 :(.

  • With units not affected by the bootloop issue, the LG G4 demonstrates that is a versatile, well rounded model with the only handicap of the battery fast drain.

  • it's the Best phone ever owned , the only issue after 2 years of use, is the battery that drain too fast, even buying new ones will not resolve the situation , always the same problem, now i am using it with a quick charge 2.0 and that's make life easier, also using a Power bank when needed, But i think LG should think about batteries, they was monster on batteries endurance with the LG G2, then Less on G3 and Even Less on G4, or G5 (2800 mah), in the other hand we have chineese phone with big battery endurance ( Lenovo P2, Xiaomi redmi note 4 .... ) and with good quality also. so that's make LG loose Fans step by step.

  • "Free repair no matter the warranty" is false. Really really false.

  • Do not buy it, even the repaired phones have sometimes the bootloop issue and LG is not very cooperative, stay away from it.

  • It's a good phone, bootloop in older version is unavoidable, but LG gives free repair no matter the warranty

  • Don't buy it - really. Bootloop affected me too. No help from LG's side after warranty period.

  • You are in the minority, then.

  • LG G4 with S/N 504 safe? Please help

  • guys please, i want to buy the LG G4 but base on your comments am so confuse as to whether to buy or not. please i need your advice.

  • I'll recommend you buy the Lg V10 instead.

  • I've had this phone since the beginning of this year & I have encountered hardly any problems other than the phone has restarted 3 times & crashed a few times. Other than that it's run like a gem for me. I don't see why there are so many complaints with the phone.

  • i just got this phone 15 days ago, over heating problem, bettery problem, recharging problems, and dead after 15 days, this is the worst experience i ever had,so please dont buy this phone other wise you will loose all your money,a friendly and brotherly suggestion for you all. becoz i lost all my money on this phone.

  • Good phone But has lots of problems to solve. After 3.rd service operation mine started to work properly. Also advise to use with 5.1 not 6.0

  • hi! May I buy a Lg 4 or higher one oh, as cheap rate Mind mends to buy...... advise me

  • More cores does not constitute as a faster or more powrful device. It is hows these "cores" were brought up or desighned. Example a quadcore kryo core which are high performance cores can potntially outform eight low powered cores. The more cores is just for the uneducated consumers who care more about numbers. So for them the more cores it has the better.

  • my g4 camera also stopped working. Sent to the assistance, after 2 weeks it returned working perfectly. They changed motherboard

  • We had 3 phones, and 2 of them crapped out - just like yours is starting to do - at different times. All three had the symptoms you are describing - referred to as "boot looping." There is actually a class action lawsuit regarding these phones going on right now, and we are part of it, google it and check it out if you are interested. All you can do is wait, or do what we did when 2 of the 3 died completely - pay them off and replace them.

  • Worst ever phone, camera stopped working, every try made but fails, battery is 3000mah but seems like 300mah. Waiste of money , LG should be banned to manufacture Mobiles

  • The LG G4 is a versatile model. Take advantage of their possibilities. I suggest you the simplest: change yourself the battery.

  • I got my LG g4 in Jan 2016 at first I loved it. The camera is absolutely stunning and I have no complaints as far as it. In May 2017 my phone started acting up. Battery won't hold a charge, screen won't unlock on tap, I have to use the on/off button. Screen locks up, can't end calls are occasional issues too. I'm not a constant user either. A few texts, pictures & some social media so it should have life left. My husband got one at the same time & it's fine. I'm very frustrated. I have done updates & am controlling battery usage on phone. Any advice would be appreciated as I'm in a contract for 6 more months & don't know if my phone will make it that long.

  • Thank you for your advice. I'm a old man and my room has AC. Fortunately my unit wasn't affected by the bootloop issue.

  • No, better go to your LG service center if you are still in warranty and have the board replaced. If not, better not use the phone in hot environment. stay indoor w/ ac lol

  • The LG G4 would have been one of the best phones period if it wasn't for the Boot Loop issues. It was a terrific phone other then that.I had one and liked it so much I just bought another one when i get it running well Ill work on the old one and see if I can fix it.

  • Main issue is the bootloop. I experienced it twice within two years and battery really overheats. The phone was supposed to be good in other aspects, just the bootloop serves as the downer for this one.

  • Yes bro same problem over heating n baterry drain fast

  • I owned the phone for exactly 17 months and then got bootlooped...then it overheats and battery drains very fast

  • spot on! hate LG now

  • between LG G4 or Motorola G5 plus?

  • dont buy it please . it is very good phone since the ic problem . ic problem is very often in g4 and after that your phone will be dead and you lost all your money .

  • The danger reach almost any batch until November / December 2.016.

  • my lg g4 motherboard production date is 9/2016 ......... is my phone bootloop free???

  • Hello .. core means the processor of the mobile >>>>if it is 8 core means that it has 8 microprocessors inside .. faster and more powerfull.

  • lg g4 is hexacore cpu(4x1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & 2x1.8 GHz Cortex-A57) after bootloop i am disable 2 core ( 2x1.8 GHz Cortex-A57) with lg up tool software and my phone again work now my lg g4 only quadcore cpu (4x1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 & 2) but work fine.i love my lg g4.

  • Yep agreed, LG doesn't take responsibility for the defect. I'm from Philippines, they only offered us 70% off of new board replacement. LG Suck do not buy.

  • Prone to bootloop. Do not buy, I had my LG g4 for 16 months only. They admitted its defect but still LG doesn't take responsibility for it leaving their customer crying for choosing their brand. P.S they will offer you 70% off for a new board replacement. LG still expect their customer to invest another penny that will last for only 3 months then after that you're own your own. LG Customer from PH

  • First, take the back cover over and try using the phone without the back cover on because it may also be a bad battery swelling causing pressure which the phones screen is interpreting as touches (or try a totally new battery if you have one). If that doesn't work, try a factory reset just to rule out a software glitch. If this two things doesn't fix the problem then there is a high chance you phones screen touch digitizer is damaged. Did you ever drop the phone or sit on it or something?

  • Contact LG service centre

  • What do you mean by core? What's core?

  • Solution: sell the phone and buy something else

  • Hello everyone... I just bought G4 H810... I am facing a problem that some time many apps open by itself. If I am on YouTube it's scroll down by itself.. Phone is on lollipop. Should I root this for Android 7. Kindly give me solution. Thanks in advance.

  • This is a very bad phone i used it for 10 months and it is motherboard got damaged out of nowhere and LG didnt do anything although it was still under the guarantee. Dont buy any LG phone

  • LG is taking its responsibility and they are giving 6 months extended warranty for motherboard for all G4 buyers. so please contact LG service center for more information.

  • I bought my phone about 6 months ago on Amazon too. My phone did the fatal boot loop thing. I did a google search to lg service and found the 1 800 number. They were helpful and emailed a prepaid shipping label to send the phone in for repair. In just over a week my phone was back again and fully repaired. LG rocks on this successful experience!

  • I bought this phone in last year and I have been screwed up with the life of battery. 3000mA battery just wasted within 2 hrs browsing now. My back camera take the blur picture after 3 months of use. That means i can not take picture with the main camera. It was my first experience with LG and very very bad experience. I tried to replace the camera but could not find anywhere. Goodbye LG and I will never buy any LG phone. Horrible....

  • A good phone until it got boot looped..

  • My phone just died after 14 months of use. I'm from México and it is out of warranty. I loved the phone while was alive, now it is just a useless brick. I'm reading how LG isn't taking any responsability or helping with the warranty even when it is a factory fault.

  • My phone bootloop upon warranty so they fixed it free... I suggest you order new motherboard from aliexpress

  • lets exchange phones if you dont believe that theres a bootloop issue

  • lets exchange phones if you dont believe that theres a bootloop issue

  • how was it fixed?

  • No. Do NOT buy this phone. It overheats and the battery life sucks. I have had it for more than a year and have sent it back for repair twice.

  • do not buy this phone it will bootloop

  • I need help, my problem is this boot loop, it suddenly started yesterday, I only purchased this LG G4 last May, of Amazon, brand new, after reading up, I definitely decided to buy, I rely a lot on this, it is my life line, because I`m a Type 1 Diabetic, all my hospital contacts are on, now I`m unable to retrieve them, I`ve done everything that can be done in trying to sort this issue out, of all days when yesterday when I needed it I couldn`t, thank god they was a passer by, but there could be a time no one around, I`ve emailed the seller, I hope someone can advise me Thank you

  • I have used a microSD XC 128 GB card in mine with no problems.

  • Bro how is the battery backup of lg g4 ? Is it worth to buy in 2017

  • hye..i also used lgg4 before this..but my phone suddenly shut down without any causes..i tried to restart again but still nothing happened..I went to PLAZA LOWYAT to ask about the problems the said maybe the motherboard problems..but they cant repair my phone because they didnt have spaire part motherboard for LGG4..can i know where u repair your phone? how much the cost?

  • Question- How much sim card slot those this phone carry not including the memory slot.

  • Just received my g4 after been replace with new motherboard according to the imei no its a 2017 version hope no more bootloop happened again!!

  • Yesterday I took my LG G4 to service, hoping to solve the bootloop somehow, at least by reballing, but no... Unfortunately, it's gone for food. Now I'm back to my old but gold Lumia 930. LG must pay for this awful design mistake, as Nvidia did back in the days, after turning all HP Pavilion series into crap.

  • so far until now, i haven't charge the battery and running it for long time, battery works well, and no experience of laaaag or faulty issue. camera is good both front and rear. i will update this post to prove people wrong impression but if this phone suck. i will be supporting you against it! but as of now Alhamdullilah, its good one =)

  • you made a huge mistake my friend !

  • i bought my lg g4 T-mobile on may5 2017 and on may 22 2017 it Died ! the screen went black one morning and never returned stuck on black screen of dead ! don't buy this phone they overheat and get bootloop it is so common on this phones ! bought it from Ebay brand new returning it to the seller tomorrow .

  • Same here

  • i just brought LG G4 as of today 22/May/2017, so far unboxing havent show any issue, i try to run it and it works fine. i will post new update after 1 and 2 years, i need to prove Javier is wrong!

  • Don't ever buy this!! While it has got top specs, it's known bootloop problem will make it useless - sooner or later. Keep your data backed up regularly and get rid of it ASAP.

  • Let me share what has solved my boot loop problem with my LG g4. I removed the thin metal that covers the motherboard. Then I put a small piece of folded paper on top of the biggest chip on the motherboard (just thick enough like when you put the metal cover, it would push the chip). Then put the metal cover back on. For me, this is my permanent solution as my LG g4 has been working for a month without having the same issue again.

  • consider yourself lucky, bro and yeah, btw... put in in the fridge over night. since it's two years old, the clock is tickin' )))

  • No, it's manufacturer design issue. Faulty hardware.

  • after two year my lg g4 face bootloop issue now i am fix with lg up tool work fine i am happy i love my g4...?

  • Don't buy this stupid phone.overheating, screen retention problem, battery drain fast,

  • Did the bootloop occur due to root ? Because i just bought this phone .

  • how to root lg h818n 6.0?

  • Great... think about new phone asap... My LG G4 is now dead after 1 yr 10 mnths... the phone stuck in boot with Logo and service team confirmed that motherboard is dead due to overheat. I was surprised to hear company like LG who is dominant over electronic medium, is losing stability on harware chips where i do see non-elcectronic companies who own many smartphones never come with this issue. They offered me 10k for motherboard replacement as you are LG customer whose actual price was 20.5k. Rather buy a smartphone worth 10K...The most pathetic service and support.... I decided never buy an LG phone in my life...

  • change the ac/av adapter.

  • If it is used and has already a bootloop problem, don't buy it. It will cost you around $200 to fix it. Instead, buy a new one and pray to get a blootloop just before the warranty's expiration date, to get a free motherboard replacement. My lg G4 got a bootloop shortly after its warranty expired. Now it is sitting on the shelf and collecting dust .

  • My LG G4 died. After 2 years.. don't buy it even if it has one of the best cameras. You are not sure how long does it last to you.

  • I owned LG G4 almost a year, first the battery is good and now it drained so much fast and heat so much hot. Anyone know what happened?

  • I want buy this phone but somebody say it has bootloop.

  • Advise....dont buy it Dont buy it

  • disable 2 core and your lg g4 work cool use lg up store tool for disable 2 core.my lg g4 work fine after bootloop by this method .

  • i love g4 but .... i can't fix it here in pattaya thailand

  • It is impossible to get root acces. After a year stop working bootloop. It costs a fortune to fix it.

  • When will g4 receive android 7

  • yesterday my lg g4 face bootloop after 2 year but i got solution connect my phone with s7 edge quick charger 2.0 mobile goes hot after remove battery and put battery again and s/on mobile and now work fine .and after i am not use quick charger 2.0 put normal lg g4 charger.happy

  • Worst f*#&ing phone I've ever owned. After 7 months it stopped working. LG sent a replacement and that lasted 7 months. LG replaced the replacement and it frequently drops the signal. Can't wait to get back to the galaxy. Stay away from LG.

  • How can I fix my lg g4 boot lop problem

  • This method didn't really work for me as I could only get my bootlooped G4 to turn on for maybe 1 or 2 minutes using the hair dryer method. However, putting it in a -18C freezer for 90 minutes got me well over 10 minutes of use which was more than enough time to get all my data off.

  • I guess that the bootloop problem was with the initial batch of phones. You can search for the serial numbers and avoid the older ones ;)

  • I had LG G3, LG G Flex and now Lg G4. In the middle from first two I wanted to see how it all works for me with iphone so I have buy no.7. Hm! The biggest mistake ever. What LG is giving out on market ladt few years leave me speechless! And yes, phone have 10/10!!! And I have friend who is expert for almost any kind of technology. He is amazed with no.4! Too much trolles!

  • yes even mashmallow has boot loop though it is not so recurrent

  • Hey listen! Use hair dryer! It may make your phone to work for 10- 15minutes or even longer. This is more than enough time to get all your pictures. This is an old way I've read about and i think it works. Good luck.

  • I own an LG G4 barely 8 months and it cant catch the wi fi at home anymore . This problem is the same thing that happened to my son. His was LG 3. It was worse. I did complain to my phone provider and internet provider , nothing they can do. I also called LG customer service. There is nothing they can do. All i can say is the phone IS NOT smartphone.

  • Once you have lollipop then you'll upgrade in marshmallow so i am asking that Is marshmallow have bootloop too?

  • I have a LG G4, the bootloop problem is irrelevant on which OS this phone is running on. I had a boot loop problem, but go it fixed within 2 days, the phone engineer just changed the motherboard which is upgraded and fixed by LG and will not show any other problem there after unless otherwise!

  • Do you have upgraded lg g4?

  • Upgraded Marshmallow Lg G4 have bootloop too or not please guys tell me ????

  • Do you have updated marshmallow g4?

  • It was workin fine for about 6 to 7 months then got a issue that the pics in wont load in the gallery. As i open gallery the phone lags and gets restarted and the battery drained much faster.

  • Hi there, I just bought a new LG g4. Now I know about bootloop problem. I have two questions please if any one help. 1: how can I know the year of made for my device? 2: is there any way to protect my LG from bootloop issue? Thanks for any opinions.

  • Can you tell me updated lg g4 have any bootloop issue or not?

  • Here's a way to retrieve the data. I feel for you, hope this method works!

  • Lucky you owned the non defected unit

  • My beautiful LG G4 suffered the bootloop issue the other day. I had the phone for about 17 months. Only when this bootloop happened did I read it is a common problem. I loved the shape, the feel, the red leather backing, the camera and overall use of this phone. It looked different to most phones. I have all the photos of my grandchildren and holidays on it. How do I get them off the phone? So, what to buy now? I loved the similar looking LG V10 but then read it can get the same problem so no go there. The Moto X Force has a backing that is different to the common metal finish. I like to actually see and hold the phone before buying ... as well as reading all reviews.

  • "I don't have a problem with MY device, so that means everyone who's complaining is either lying or a paid troll" Great logic there buddy.

  • dead box... i loved this phone very much.. but wen this phone dead due to motherboard.. as still my phone is under warranty i purchased from UAE 2016 may 16.the worst thing about the crap lg g4 is u need to go the same place from were u buyed for service. wen i called here in india lg customer care they saying 20000rs for pcb replacement. horrible. they cheated so many customers. and fake users over here are praising lg g4.

  • ??? Bootloop?? loooool.. I think maybe these guys are trolls who work for apple. I have my phone 2 years no problem. It even fell hard twice. best phone I ever had. 10/10 and if I had to get another, I would go g6. If I had money:(

  • I want to Buy LG G4 in 2017. A Retail seller asked almost 175$ for the new one. Is it sounds fake ?? Or If I buy LG G4 with S\N - 600 Version, Could I face Bootloop problem ??? Need opinion...

  • Unfortunately you are right - mine died with the bootloop issue just yesterday... (until then I was very happy with it) I've been able to initiate a factory wipe after freezing it for a while, but not sure if it completed. Replaced with Moto G5 Plus.

  • i love the LG G4 the best phone EVER!

  • its camera results are cool but its battery sucks..

  • dont ever buy this shit. it has motherboard isseus

  • Can you tell me do you have update lg g4 marshmallow ?

  • I bought my G4 amd I have a problem on it. It's overheating and I couldn't even touch it. Is anyone here can suggest what should I do? :(

  • Hey guys i am thinking to buy this phone which i want to buy is updated Can someone tell me should i buy this phone? Please give me suggestion?

  • This phone is great even for today's standards. I ain't having The bootloops issue which is good. I only wish I have Android nougat.

  • I wish there will be a solution to fix this bootloop issue on g4 Lucky for v10 user the bootloop issue now can fix permanently

  • I own this phone (LG G4) since October 2015. Few weeks ago it got into the boot loop. Place I bought it has 2 years warranty policy. So I got motherboard replaced and I had my phone back in a week. Phone has great camera and amazing DNG files that you can edit on your phone or PC. I can only recommend this phone. Display is amazing and bright. I am considering to get spare one as I don't see anything as good on the market today.

  • I bought the phone from a friend , it had some camera problems, sometimes worked, other times not , and when it didn't work , my phone would restart itself. Now I have LineageOs on it and is super smooth , I don't even have problems with my camera now . Since I put this custom ROM my phone feels like a google one , I have android 7.1.2 on it.

  • Regrettably I bought an LG G4. While it worked it was a decent product. But my phone got the "boot screen loop" making the phone worthless. I contacted LG (after reading they were aware of the problem) to see if they would do anything about it. I got the typical run around. A quality company would stand behind their product when there is a manufacturing defect.

  • Hey, i think hey down to your nearest service center to get it checked. May be caused by the motherboard. Hope this helps!

  • This phone heats up so badly and battery drains faster.

  • Yes you are right but it fix the seri of processers of lg g4 have problam but they fix it

  • friend please tell me bootloop in lg g4 can be fix or not?

  • worst phone ever. my phone lg g4 h815, i bought on Claro Argentina and it s turned off and never locked up again

  • My son is on his 3rd lg g4, appears it's in boot loop again but out of warranty. Bought phone through monthly payment plan in June 2015, so phone is not even paid off yet. Where is info that warranty is extended to two years please? Thank you

  • You can say the same for the G3, V10, G5, V20 and even the Nexus 5x. All suffer from bootloop. All made by LG. And now they're facing a class action lawsuit. See a pattern here?

  • I understand that apart from the defective lots little can be blamed on the G4.

  • I respectfully disagree. I would not recommend buying a product that has a significant chance of going dead in a year or so, regardless of warranty. Buying the G4 would be like buying a bomb, hoping that it won't go off in the future.

  • This is not a Nokia 1020 or an 808, but, that said it is easy on the eye and the pocket has good enough and replaceable battery life and an EXCELLENT camera IF you can be bothered to shoot RAW files and NOT underexpose. AS with most phones the pixels are tiny and cannot stand much underexposure, but its colour and dynamic range when treated in Photoshop is excellent. Its DNG files-which it had from Day one (why I did not get an S6), are excellent because the very fast 24mm equivalent lens is sharp edge to edge and corner to corner. Its jpegs are rubbish-oversharpened cartoon cutout things, ok for web use but little else. There are HUGE bonuses as it has an EXCELLENT RDS hi-definition FM stereo radio that RECORDS everything off air as you would like, OK? You want a complete opera live from the Met? yeah, record it. A Rock concert, no problem, and with the V20 updateinstalled the sound is even better than it was originally. The panoramas are very HUGE, but they are just huge oversharpened jpegs lacking in definition and you are stuck with them and the varying exposure across a scene (yuch) nowhere near what an S6 or iPhone 6 plus offer. On the other hand you can always shoot a sucession of Raw files at fixed exposure and then stitch them, but that takes the fun out of what mobile phone panoramas do. I have our postman in three places in one continuous shot! Priceless. All in all, it still up there with the very best> you can do 4ft wide single shots on your wall from Raw at low isos with quality so good nobody will know its from a mobile and not a Canon 1Ds MkII at 400iso!! Such a shame Sierra does not accept Android file transfer. Does anybody know a free reliable programme that works with Android phones in Sierra?

  • worst cell phone i ever owned. occasionally froze up. often wouldn't hold its place when reading a site. pictures difficult to frame. frequently couldn't get into desired sites. just a pure piece of junk!

  • Your model number?

  • I bought a LG G4 and since fifteen months ago works fine. I wish underline that with bluetooth speakers and his 24 bits /192 Khz audio chip, flies high. The V20 Quad compulsory improve it, but, I think, slightly better.

  • lg g4 is the worst just becoz of its bootloop ,, speacially in pakistan where theres not even a single shop of lg mobiles and repairers ,,, so i dnt recommend lg g4 . overall specs area good n no doubt camera is also superb but after some time the bootloop cause problems

  • I agree i was absolutely happy with my phone until it bootlooped 3 months after the warrenty finished. Now i've already paid LG to fix my phone and its still got problems and i've had to make multiple trips to the service center over the last 6 weeks to fix it again and again. I dont know why they just don't replace the pcb with a new one.

  • I think that if LG repairs correctly the affected units, its legal responsibilities end here.

  • You go man ! Great opinion ! LG is the best

  • I am fairly surprised about written comments for the LG G4. I have this phone for about one year now and I never had a single lag or slowing down whatsoever. Camera is absolutely amazing, speaker is loud and clear and the battery last at least for a day when using the phone hard. I am speaking of about 4,5 - 5 hours of screen on time. I have no complaints about screen, signal and speaking quality when making a phone call. My phone is in the series without bootloop problem. The only thing i think it should be better is video quality, I dont like much how stabilization works, but it's usable when you don't shake it much. Once more, LGs phones are the closest to apple devices when speaking about system stability and smoothness and workflow when using it. I literary haven't restarted the phone for more than 4 months, never did factory reset, and it flyes. There is a lot of negative comments issuing bootloop problem and hating the phone, but rarely anyone will come and write a positive comment if they are happy with the phone. If you have bootloop problem, go and return it, your warranty covers it. For everybody: this phone is amazing, and i recommend buying it, especially now when you can find it for about $300 new.

  • Check the serial number. If it's a 50x serial number I would definately return it.

  • there is two generation for LG g4. H810 and H815! So which one is affected by bootloop problem? I bought this device from eBay and I am surprised what the people said. So should I return it? I sent an email to the LG company, they just said any devices come from eBay no warranty on it. I have 30 days for return the device, so please any one tell me what should I do?

  • Was the bootloop reproduced later ?

  • Was a good phone until it went shit in 14 months ,bootloop problem.LG extended there warranty for 2 years because of all the problems.Getting a replacement under warranty, and if it does it again i'm through with any LG products.

  • I didn't like this phone from the moment I got it. Thought the camera focused poorly, battery life not very good for a new phone, loaded with lots of apps I never used but couldn't delete. Then it froze almost exactly 14 months after purchase. Warranty had ended and I had a phone that wouldn't turn on or off. It was just stuck on a black screen. No notice, nothing strange before the phone died. Fortunately my carrier agreed to pay off the balance and I was able to get something else. I was told by 3 different employees of the carrier that this is a known problem with the G4. My daughter had a G3 and had similar problems but at least she got 2 years from it. I'll never buy another LG phone. On a side note, I have an LG washing machine which I also hate

  • A5 2017 specs look good. But there is no 24 bit 192 KHz audio chip - meaning you will not get deep bass effect and crisp sound* when using Sony MDR-XB70AP earphones. * means - The source video or audio must be good.

  • I bought this phone because a cellphone store was selling it via loan by an bank, so you can pay it by parts. The store also gave 1 month warranty; at first, everything was great, but after 1 month and few days it started with a serious problem: the famous bootloop problem. I returned the phone to the store and they said that it's the software issue. I waited 1 week and they couldn't fix it. I read on Internet about the bootloop problem and was very dissapointed with LG. I think never would buy their products again. :(

  • That was literally my only issue with buying that phone , but i feel now that its pros outweigh the cons , it's processor is better than G4s right ? and if you exclude OIS and 4K video , it's camera is also the same as LGs right ?

  • Link not working. Itnjust gets diverted to lg.com/in

  • Samsung Note 4 and S7 edge are king of all smartphones which are preferred models.by high end users.

  • A5 2017 is goodcompared to LG if you do not bother about OIS.

  • I AGREE! LG Electronics has been made aware of a booting issue with the LG G4 smartphone that has now been identified as resulting from a loose contact between components. Customers who are experiencing booting issues with their LG G4s should contact their local carrier from where the G4 was purchased or a nearby LG Service Center (www.lg.com/common) for repair under full warranty. Customers who purchased their G4 devices from non-carrier retailers should contact an LG Service Center with the understanding that warranty conditions will differ. LG Electronics is committed to providing the highest standards of product quality and customer service and apologizes for the inconvenience caused to some of our customers who initially received incorrect diagnoses.

  • Here’s the full statement LG made to Android Authority: LG Electronics has been made aware of a booting issue with the LG G4 smartphone that has now been identified as resulting from a loose contact between components. • Love this phone - SD slot, removable battery, great screen and camera (in its price range, of course). But, as it will receive Nougat update only in Q3 (a year after its release - are you kidding me?!), I will never look into LG's direction ever again. It's unacceptable! Such a shame, because G6 looks quite good.

  • only in the year's second half, pal

  • great phone only on paper. It has many things other ones don't (microsd, fm radio, irda, removable battery...). In practice it's garbage. Full of bugs and problems. Total waste of money, avoid lg like the plague

  • Honestly I've had this phone for a year and it's a stupid piece of garbage. The only reason I still have it is because I'm on a contract. It freezes, it lags horribly and it's battery life is garbage. I have tried everything to fix it and nothing works. Stay away from this useless phone

  • Yeah ... , But it's got the same ol 1080p resolution on that side screen , which would lower the pixel density significantly , a phone with a great screen , camera and processor , i think the Samsung A5 2017 is what i should go for , heard good reviews so far ...

  • The wide XIAOMI catalogue is a good answer to your request.

  • Why not A9 pro 2016?. I think thats the minimum model in Samsung that has OIS.

  • Yes , but where I'm from , it costs much more so i can't really afford it , something like a sub 400$ phone ?

  • Samsung S6

  • Yeah but i can't really find a phone around this price range which is about 5.5" or smaller and have OIS , Do you know of one ?

  • dont buy lg g4, yeah its good phone but have so many fabric problems, I have lg g4 and now im going to replace it.

  • A5 2017 does not have OIS.

  • Their screen is too big , Do you think the A5 2017 is a good option instead of this one ?

  • Is it necessary that phone should be in warranty?

  • Say in reality. Keep ysing some more months to get bootloop for free. Samsung Note 4 is a better replacement (against G4) with rocking battery backup.

  • Well said.

  • Samsung A9 pro 2016 and C9 pro.

  • Yes, it will. Hopefully sometime this month!

  • LG will fix your G4 for the boot loop problem. I had mine fixed last December and I just sent my wife's in to be fixed today. It cost me nothing on the first phone and I don't expect it to cost anything for the next one.

  • Oh , well what other sub $350 phone would you recommend ?

  • Bettery buy Samsung note 4 or S7 edge and stay happy.

  • Will LG G4 to get an upgrade to Android version Nougat 7.0 / 7.1?

  • I bought LG G4 last year in July, 2016. I have now a problem with its screen. The screen is split to two screens. One screen is garbled. It is flickering and hard to see what's in it. I also had charger cable problems. It no more works. What a shit company. NEVER buy an LG phone anymore. That's my advice. LG needs more experience and years to learn how to manufacture good phones so as to compete with companies like Samsung, Iphone, Sony etc....

  • a great phone. Have been using since 2016. No problems so far.

  • You're lucky I had to make THREE trips to my service center.

  • Love this phone but after only 15 months of light usage it started malfunctioning with what I now know to be 'bootloop'. LG repaired it under warranty and got it back to me within a week, which I thought was really good. Until I discovered that they had locked it during the repair process, and my SIM no longer works in it. They gave me the runaround when I tried to get this resolved and I've been bounced back and forth between LG and Vodafone: LG said I had to ask Vodafone to supply a new unlock code. Vodafone said LG had locked it so LG had to unlock it. Im still trying to get this resolved. I will not go to a third party to unlock, as that will invalidate the warranty, which I need to keep active given that these phones are known to be defective. So, even though the phone is lovely I would not recommend it due to the manufacturing fault and poor customer service from LG.

  • Several options are available to choose, instead to be player of a lottery game.

  • You are a terrible consumer for buying a phone with the intention of using it for 2 weeks and then returning it. Rubbish people.

  • I've had this phone since late 2015 and it's worked amazingly up until being a victim of the bootloop issue last week. Me and 3 other friends have the phone and rave about its camera and otherwise good "bang 4 buck" value. The phone, for what it can do as a standard android smartphone is the best deal out there to this day imo. BUT, my phone is now with LG to fix the bootloop issue and I can only hope that 1) they fix it permanently on my phone, and 2) none of my friends have to go through the hassle I am going through (sending my phone via mail for repairs and losing all my personal data in the process). Of course if I continue to be a bootloop victim, well my rating on the phone goes to shit obviously... For what it's worth, LG is fixing my phone for free despite my 1-year warranty expiring over 3 months ago. I honestly think, bootloop issues aside, this is still a great phone and much more affordable than other phones which do essentially the same thing. While I'm without my G4, I'm on a "borrowed" Samsung S7 Edge (actually had to buy the phone but can return it in 15 days full refund). This phone was 900$!! wtf... it's NOT worth that much. I paid 400$ for my G4.

  • I have an issue with my G4.when i power it on its working by welcoming me then its doing nothing.what might be the problem.its just showing the word welcome

  • i agree this phone is crap. i got one and had it for a year then boot loop called and went through insurance was sent another one had it for a year as well and today it done same thing. cant get phone to work at all

  • I just got back my G4 from LG. I sent it back because of that bootloop issue. As long as they confirm that it is the issue they replace your phone. That is my story though, i'll give it some time to see what happens.

  • Not sure what you talking about. My G4 had the same issue with the bootlooping and the replaced it with a new one.

  • don't even think of buying this device

  • don't buy this phone....i purchased a LG G4 in February, 2016. It lasted only 1 year and a month, fell victim to the infamous Boot loop issue. There is no solution and this problem is not curable by any means. The phone can be temporarily turned on by heating up the motherboard to recover your data...and that's all you can do!!!!! If you have warranty, LG may repair or replace your set, but it won't last long either. Before boot loop, my G4 was a awesome device, now it's just a garbage. I completely lost my faith :(

  • DO NOT BUY LG PRODUCTS!!! They knew about this bootloop issue, but kept making and selling the phones with the flaw - then they will not stand behind them. Excuse me, they did actually extend the warranty on these phones BY 3 MONTHS WTF? 3 months! Well it shows what kind of company they are. The class action suit will cost them millions in legal fees - money they could have used to repair their defective phones, and would have kept most of their customers happy. Now everyone in that class action suit will get a $5 off coupon (or some other meaningless offer) and will be gone from LG forever. A person would be completely ignorant to ever purchase another LG product - EVER! All of their products have electronics, even appliances. If they can't build their phones right and won't stand behind them - what makes you think any of their other products will be any different? No one I know will ever buy an LG product! Signed - a non customer of LG for the rest of my life

  • Pls i was about to buy this phone but i want know the meaning of bootloop.

  • Don't buy this phone in 2017, period.

  • Yes it is a large problem. My LG G4 overheated from basic use which caused it to bootloop. It is now a useless piece of plastic. DO NOT BUY!!

  • LG G4 if you want customization and play around get the 5s if you have smaller hands or want a more ready and smooth experience the G4 is a bit cheaper and to avoid the infamous bootloop issue buy a refurbished one

  • It is. I didnt know it was(since the name would suggest a not-so-hard-to-fix software problem, which it is not) and was dumb enough to not have an SD card, or cloud backup. It got in a boot loop and now is in warranty repair. All my files are gone. Having suffered from this, and knowing about Note 7s explosions and other stuff, specs-price ratio and design become second when I look for a new phone, the least ammount of known defects becomes first.

  • I was very excited to get this phone but it didn't end up as i expected to say the least. Since 2010 till i got this phone in November 2016, i used only 2 phones, i search well before my buying any device, the HTC Desire HD was my first, over 2 years with it i switched to Nexus 5 in December 2013, the nexus was the best device i ever used to say the least, i broke the screen in an accident hiking, and since we don't have spare parts in egypt, i decided to get a new phone, it was time already, i was focused on Lg as my experience in the Nexus was beyond amazing, the LG G5 was just launched when i bought my phone, but i got a decent price for the G4 and i got it. The phone looks pretty cool, not very slippery like other phones which is a smart design feature, the screen is bright, clear, it's one of the very few phones now that has pointed curvy edges making it unique and pretty. The UI has pretty smart features as well, not worth mentioning as everyone already knows them. Yet it's laggy, i've been habing serious issues with the UI and i need to restart my phone at least 3 times a week, and probably 2 times of those i have to remove the battery to force close (thankfully) in my experience with the Nexus 5, it only happened once in 3 years! with the G4 it happens almost once a week, my phone is up to date so there is no excuse for that... The battery's life is equivlant to my Nexus 5 after more than a year of heavy usage, and this phone just consumes battery, i recharge the phone at least twice a day and sometimes few more quick charges to keep me going, with average to minimum usage. The phone heats up faster than average and it does not qualify to it's stated processor speed. Please note that i got the phone in November and it's March now, so basically the heating was in the winter, i have no idea what will happen in the summer. I am very disappointed with this phone, but i also have to say that i have tried and used other LG models and they were all quite amazing! LG will still remain on top of my list when i look for a new phone, but this model is really a product that doesnt meet expectations.

  • iPhone 5s or LG G4

  • Is the bootloop problem actually that severe ?? , I was thinking of buying this phone :-l

  • Good luck always backed up your data

  • These are all temporary fixes. I put my bootlooped G4 in the freezer (-18 degrees celsius) for 1.5 hours and got 7 minutes of use out of my G4 before it shut down again but it was enough time to get the data off it.

  • Unfortunately that's what happened to my G4 it began to restart its self then it would freeze and the only way to restart it was to take out the battery. Had a new motherboard fitted under warranty and so far no more problems only time will tell. Hope you have better luck as I agree with you the G4 is a great device.

  • What about fridges? they are good also you could fix it by reattaching the Chipset to the Motherboard by heating it with Hairdryer and giving the chipset pressure and then reassemble the phone and it might start working

  • too bad it will die a horrible bootloop death :))) no more LG for me ...EVER ... phone, TV...NOTHING!!!

  • Mine is LG-H818P with S/N 603. Hardware (1.1). I'm not experiencing the bootloop, but my screen has an occasional burn-in (screen). My Note 4 has burn-ins as well :(

  • Dont try to buy LG Mobile Phones at all. Dont waste your valuable money on buying this waste products. i bought my G4 in DEC 2015, i had replaced my motherboard 2 times and still the problem continues the phone getting overheat. Dont buy LG Mobiles..

  • Yup, mine also died with the bootloop fault (after 16 months). This has happened to too many people for LG not to have known about the issue early on. They should have recalled the phone. Seems like bad faith to me - LG just hoped that the inevitable failure would happen after the warranty for as many people as possible. This is bad policy - they make a lot of products, not just phones. I feel ripped off and certainly won't trust LG again or buy anything else of theirs. Ever.

  • It's the plain weather app you need to download, or go to google play to download it there if you can't see it in updates.

  • After resetting my G4 the weather widget on the homescreen says "tap to add location" but when I tap it it says needs to download software to work, tap "download" and it takes me to the system apps update screen but nothing happens or downloads. Everything is up to date. Ideas on how to fix?

  • There's a class action lawsuit against LG for the G4 and V10 bootloop issues. About time.

  • just a very, very small flaw!

  • you used the phone and it did not work, does that means every other person that buys it will face same problem? i know evendow you were the course of the problem i know you will not tell us that side of the story

  • Got my g4 2 months ago and got same issue as everyone else brought it in .they changed the motherboard..was good for 3 weeks and back to the same issue...I actually loved the phone but now I don't..bringing it back cause still on warranty so let's see how long it lasts..

  • Philips are good for the lgs

  • Do not buy this phone. Totally not worth the price. I only used it for 12months then suddenly stopped working. I tried asking LG for the recommendation of how to fix the issue they said that it might be the problem with the motherboard. so to replaced it i have to pay alot of money. WTF! So if i were you better go for Samsung or iphone. No to LG!

  • It means that the update services are limited.

  • Doesn't matter. It's a glamorous phone. Extraordinary camera for 2017, performance is fantastic & includes features with are omitted from many other phones such as FM radio, ir blaster, removable battery. The only drawback would be my phone restarted out of the blue the other day, whilst turning on my data which was bizarre. Other than that the phones a total beast!

  • Can anyone tell me which(brand n model) headset is compatible for LG G4 ?

  • The G4 is already old, according the updates schedule.

  • Oh no screen retention creeping in on the top and bottom navigation buttons. Signs of the quantum ips display too bright!!! Should i change the lcd screen?

  • Its one of the main sign of bootloop.....the screen touched itself........

  • Hello there, I recently bought LG Mobile phone Model LG G4 H-811 and when i go for update menu for update check then i got a massage that " update services is limited" can anyone please tell me what dose it means.?

  • LOL

  • It will be 3rd quarter 2017

  • 19 months is OK. Go for a new phone

  • Please don't buy this phone. There is a known problem with bootloop which unfortunately I didn't know of when I bought this phone. It suddenly stopped working and I was never able to recover my data. Horrible experience! never buying LG again.

  • Dont buy lg g4 it has mother board issue boot loop problem

  • "and it start to touch itself " LMAO 😂😂😂&#128514;

  • Screen already retention

  • My l90 did the same. Do a hard reset. Mine worked for a week but keeps on failing on me. Maybe yours will woke better

  • Good...

  • Disappointing. Clunky wifi setup means constantly having to on/off and reconnect to familiar hot spots... Button placement is definitely an acquired taste. I haven't acquired it... and will go back to a normal side button setup on next phone. Overly aggressive rotation mode is Irritating. Shortcut menus don't work properly (same app as used before on XiaoMi2). Plastic body is very poor quality. After just a few months of careful usage it's already showing signs of wear.

  • Update battery 5000 mAh Volet support Finger print sensor

  • Amin

  • And v10 will get nougat on the second half of this year..glad to hear that

  • Yes, just get an adapter.

  • It will 3rd quarter 2017

  • My lovely LG G4 had booting error. LG company in my country can not repair.. So sad😭😭😭

  • Can I use a Nano sim card with the LG G4? I know it's a Micro sim but I was wondering because the sim slot is in the back of the phone so I thought since Nano sim is smaller it would just fit in.

  • Lucky you how long been you used it?

  • Too bad. My G4 died yesterday after 19 months of very light usage.

  • The H815 reference appears to be less affected by hardware defects. Avoid, above all, overheating.

  • It's possible to get android 7.0 that's if you root it

  • Hi help mi i have S/N 701KPRWxxxxxx its this serial have any problem bootloop or overheating thank you

  • I got this phone with serial 502 Korean, it still works to this day. I guess I'm lucky.

  • Sadly no nougat update for g4....Lg already make a confirmation

  • LG G4 is the best phone in the current market. It will get nougat be patient!

  • boot looping is basically when your constantly restarts by itself and never fully comes on so you can use it. I've had mine for a yr and a half and it did 2 weeks ago haven't been able to use it since and no one Will help me. besides that i loved my phone

  • yes ^_^

  • Sd808 truly diisaster g4 should packed with sd810 then free from bootlop issue Have a look at g flex 2 with sd810 so far no bootloop

  • Don't buy LG g4 .. due to boot loop dead disease in this phone I prefer Moto Droid Turbo 2.. Long lasting battery life.. Awesome camera... with small price i buy this used phone only in $200 and that worth me more powerful phone than Samsung Galaxy s6 edge..

  • Yes this is worst phone of LG .. i have already lost one due to Bootloop my model was H810 :-( don't buy this phone.

  • Does G4 support usb otg?

  • 6/3/2017 tested this phone for 2 days thank god it was my friend's shop . at the start it was all great it handle everything under the normal use its camera is soooo awesome the software is very good ,, PS i had a note 3 so am comparing it to it i said that's my next phone . i ignored the fact that the phone didn't except my last SD card whichs perfectly fine which contain all of may daily apps and i also ignored the fast 3000m battery drain because the phone comes with 2 batteries and An external battery charger ... i was about to buy it and then i said why don't i gave it a lil heavy use i downloaded most of the apps i couldnt get of my last SD , and start to use .. FB,messenger,Viber,Instagram, youtube, some photo editing, the phone was soooo good it heated a lil bit it had a 87% 1 hour later it was 35% =_= like i said i didnt care( 2 batteries ) UNTIL ,,, i received a call via SIM :'( the phone went crazy and it start to touch itself and the screen start flickering i could even get the call it all stopped when the call ended !!! i was shocked !! i tried calling ,, it happened again .. i let it cool off and went for a basketball match ,, 2 hours latter tried calling nothing happened it worked fine -_- turned wifi on ..consumed that 30% to 20% tried to call again it happened again !! i ended up taking the phone back to my friend's shop .. tried to show my friend but the flickering won't start i think maybe because i used the SIM network this time nt wifi ... thats my story with LG g4 phone 2 days journey :P actually 1 day took the phone 6pm brought it back next day 9pm . best wishes ^_^

  • I haven't bought the phone yet, but I found this info. @http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-admits-g4-bootloop-problem-hardware-fault-669603/ "After several months of LG G4 owners complaining of a bootloop issue to no avail, we picked up the story and confronted LG. The official response has come through and it should make G4 owners happy: LG has acknowledged the LG G4 bootloop issue is a hardware defect and will repair affected devices." I looked at reviews and found that many of you are having problems with the boot loop issue, honestly, I still do not fully understand the term, "boot loop", but LG acknowledges this as a hardware problem. If this isn't the only problem someone tell me other problems that are as if not more common than the boot loop issue.

  • avoid both of them. Get a huawei, samsung or sony

  • on paper one of the best phones ever. It has irda AND fm-radio AND microsd AND removable battery AND 3.5mm jack AND quad-hd display... In practice sadly it's a low quality electronics trash full of problems. Hardware (bootloop) and software bugs galore. Avoid it, avoid LG

  • Also the G3 suffers from the same manufacturing defect ?

  • The phone look amazing after purchase but few days you will have a boot loop issue mine is g3 bought it after two days it was a mess endless boot loop....Lg new the fault but they kept silence you take it to a local lg shop they say they can't fix it

  • lg g4 or moto z play

  • Take your loss and pay someone to fix it or buy a new phone. Sucks but those are your options.

  • Purchased LG4-H810 ATT branded phone in September, 2015. Unlocked and running on T-mobile network. I"ve only used the phone for about 9 months and really liked it up till about 2 months ago. screen would intermittently freeze and force me to reboot it. Miracast a movie to my TV and the device went into bootloop scenario. Serial started with 606 meaning it was manufactured in may 2015. Called LG and they told me they were sorry but it was out of warranty and I would have to pay for their defects. To add insult to injury, phone was evidently accessing the microsd card (128GB) I installed and now it's toast too. Can't reformat for another phone. 300 dollars in accessories and the cost of the phone down the drain. Last LG product I'll ever own and that includes appliances and TV's!

  • Bought a used LG G4, from the US, for use in Canada. All worked fine for 3 months until hit by boot loop issue. Now LG Canada says they can't fix my phone, because it was made for US market, and US says they can't ship to Canada. I am hearing LG say to the press it will fix, but when the rubber hits the road, they don't appear to be following up. Class action? Not impressed.

  • u havent had it that long we'll c

  • I owned my lgg4 phone fro maybe 1 year and two months now my camera is not working it's the only problem I faced which causes my phone to restart by itself and a lot of apps stop working because of the camera issue I saw a lot of solutions from the internet but nothing kept my camera working for long time and now it's becoming even harder to open it and use it.

  • I miss my g4......shit bootloop ruin everything

  • so far!

  • I think your post is from a man with specific knowledge. Therefore, I will follow his recommendation with my G4, which in one year and two months, has overheated twice.

  • lg g4 h818p

  • Unfortunately for those affected, the G4 bootloop issue, more than due to a purchase date, looks like a lottery.

  • I've been owning an LG G4 now for 15months but the experience has ended here. Mine went into boot loop abruptly. I wasn't using my mobile much for gaming although at times I did. I was really happy with it as it was performing extremely well but now I cannot use it anymore. Contacted the seller and LG HK but they both told me warranty has expired (1year). I have to pay for shipping, analysis, parts, and labour. Is this worth it? Will I end up with this same senario in 15 months time? Excellent mobile but not worth the hassle. It will happen! Sadly enough. What is your opinion? (Malta EU)

  • ur mobile model no? like H812, H815. which one is urs?

  • Must be greater than 505

  • What's ur sn number?

  • Best Android phone I have ever owned. Switching from a nexus 5x. Big improvement in call quality, screen, battery life and camera Having the volume and power switch on the back is great and intuitive. I have owned several of the flagship phones and this $130 phone is the best for me. No signs of overheating or boot-loop.

  • Cross your fingers and try to not overheat your phone, that's the main cause of the bootloop, the lead free solder contacts will melt for the heat and that will loosen some contacts between components.

  • Of course G4... Asus is a brick. Heavy, dumb brick.

  • Hello guys I was a samsung fan in past Recently bought G4 dual sim Here in gsmarena i read allot negative opinions about g4 I m sharing my experience I bought it in early February 2017 Played with it by downgrading it to 5.1 Upgraded many times to 6.0 Used it in extream levels. Played heavy games 100% btry to 0% Installed apps rooted it unlocked bootloader Flashed twrp Again flashed stock firmware Never hanged bootlooped stuck or freez heated a bit but with no worries during testing Charged it with fast charger Good battery timing 67000 plus antutu score Running 4g on either of sims Downloaded huge files. Till now i m satisfied

  • lg is not giving love to the G4. and that's because bootloop but that's is not customers fault this is fault of your QA department atleast you should upgrade the device so people who still has a working phone can upgrade atleast for 1-6 months before bootloop

  • Hey, guys! I'm really at a crossroads here. LG G4 or Asus Zenfone 3 Laser

  • My wife G4 is now 1.5 years old, still working like a charm. My G4 is 7 months old and also working without problems. Really good phone if you ask me. Maybe soon we gonna change to G6's ? But yeah, i know many users has problems with the bootloop issue and heating with the G4. Maybe me and my wife are just lucky :)

  • No Nougat for G4. WTF I'll sell my G4 in ebay and never buy LG again!!!!!!

  • i bought LG G4 in December, 2016. but alas vary bad experience. bootloop issue, xtremely heat up issue, and now suddenly hanged with software disappeared. the mechanic demands gurantee that phone can be dead if software re-installed. My humble suggestion to LG Company is that plz concentrate on washing machines and fridges only, if u cant produce some good smart phones.

  • Same here....I am also facing the same problem with LG G4.I purchased it in feb 2016 and till now...its motherboard has changed, its display has changed...everything is changed and now I am facing the heating issue as well as battery problem .....I have to charge this phone atleast 4 times a day so as to use it properly.I also have a very bad experience with this phone and I will never ever recommend anyone to purchase phone from this brand.

  • is your warranty's still up?

  • Lg has announced today that G4 will not get android N, :(

  • could you compare this phone with a Tecno phantom 5 and also review latest Tecno phones coz its big name in East Africa

  • bad news guys .. lg just killed the G4 ... they left the device only running android 6.0 . no intention updating it to nougat .. Italian web pages have news about it ... they are rolling out really slow the update for g5 so they can skip the G4... so bad that they even preferred to update a stylus 2 rather than a flagship but ... for me it is simply that they don't want room for comparations it is not a fast phone but has an excellent camera and featurs that they dropped during generations battery G6 and screen size G5 5.3 vs 5.5 on g4 anyway .... ux 4.0 looks ok for me but I eman the nougat is future proof and has a boost in performance regarding the vulkan api . they are s...kers

  • Bought mine July 2015. Stuck on boot-up on 3 occasions. Service centre changed the motherboard each time with total data loss. Last replacement was in Feb 2017. Tech support don't even know the cause of failure. Simply replacing motherboard without finding cause of failure will not fix the real fault. The device also frequently overheats while in use. My next phones shall never ever be another LG.

  • Sorry but 245 CAD seems really low for a G4, it's not brand new, is it? I'm guessing used or refurbished. Or it's already bootlooped, been repaired under warrenty and now the owner is selling it. It's 2017 the only phones from 2015 I'd buy today would be the Samsung Note 5 or Edge+. Everything else would be a no go.

  • I have had bad experiences with the LG G4 since I purchased it last November 2015: it heats up quite frequently, and it was too warm that it is uncomfortable to use. Had it checked within two months with the service center and they replaced the motherboard, but still same issue. By March 2016, they couldn't figure out why it was heating up and had to replace the unit: still heats up occasionally but I bought a casing instead so that I wouldn't have to deal with the heat on my hands (I am not sure if that was really a good decision though). Last Friday, 24 February 2017, my phone just conked out. It cannot be charged as well, and no indication of life whatsoever. I went to the service center and they said they have to replace the motherboard (same issue again!) and what really frustrates me is that all files cannot be retrieved anymore. I know that is also a fault on my part: I haven't backed up my holiday photos yet in the cloud nor in an external drive. My cousin in NZ has these same issues with the same unit (she also bought last 2015). I can say we are both traumatized with the issues of LG G4 and are not keen on buying from the same brand again.

  • Yes, but the best way to check when your phone is produce is via this link: .Just enter IMEI from your phone. All the phones from 2016 should be ok. My girlfriend has bought one from October 2016 and she is very very satisfied with LG G4.

  • Hello, the bootloop issue is eliminated on phones manufactured after November 2015. To check the manufacturing date, just look at the first 3 digits of the serial number (year/month in YMM format. For example 603; 6 = 2016; 03 = March).

  • hi folks , OMG no i ordered is 1 day ago , its on its way , no way to cancel it from where i purchase . reading all this comments , i am very scared . i placed the order yesterday hopefully not going to face this BOOT LOOP issue . omg what to do god . dont want to waste $ 245 CAD which i paid for this mobile . if it die after 2 years thats fine but before that i will feel super bad :( . any opinions on this . thanks

  • Wow you are so lucky my g4 sn512 h815 bootloop upon warranty now sent to repair witout charge...now im v10 user....

  • Have G4 for 4 months now bought from local carrier, Europe, Bulgaria. Has Android 6, make is H815. Gets stuck on dialing and not getting incoming calls. This happens randomly, once every few days. There is thread on XDA about it - Anyone here struggle with this issue here? Any fixes or suggestions?

  • My phone is almost 2yr old with serial start 504... Still no lag and hanging and reboot does it get bootloop or not my model is F500s korean

  • But the device compatibility with 7.0 don't means a sure send through OTA.

  • a once a great phone plagued by bootloader issue. It's really sad because I won't ever buy it again and if i did it'd be a roulette coz you never know which one has badly soldered motherboard.

  • I think that 7.0 îs gonna hit the G4 because IT can handle IT with no problem

  • You know that's only the Note 7 exploding. All phones explode if you charge overnight for too long but that's only a rare occurrence.

  • Wow you are so lucky 2 years your g4 still okay

  • Huge problems, 10 months ago i had to hard reset it my self cause it looped on boot, and today stoped working, not even hard reset. Unhappy, it was a good phone but you cant relay on it.

  • had this for almost 2 yrs honestly this is a good phone.....still work fine. no lagging and bugging unlike the exploding S...

  • go for replace mainboard. i already replace a brand new main board LG G4 after bootloop. i took around

  • With almost two years, don't expect a rebate.

  • No never, its really a great mobile phone

  • Android 7.0 nougat on LG G4???

  • when lg g6 will come is price of G4 will be lower ??

  • Had the exact same problem, it said USB debugging connected & it was charging but the computer couldn't recognise the phone. The best solution is to uninstall the LG drivers through control panel then reinstall them. That should work for you.

  • i had this phone from about a year but now i can't transfert my documents to my computer via his usb wire and my phone has a full memory now and I can not use it . what can I do someone can help me ?

  • is there any bootloop prb in yr device?/

  • should i bought lg g4 in 2017...,,plz suggest me....was the problem fixed or not

  • Had this mobile for about 8 months without any problem whats so ever, nice device>

  • I only used this phone for 6 mos. And after dat the phone restart itself..i dont know why? It sucks!

  • It's happened also with me

  • Lg g4 is the best phone I've ever use, working like a charm, I wonder when is the next update to Android N.

  • ...so far

  • I have one since august 2015 and work's perfect I hve no reason to change

  • Very good phone. No problem.

  • I have read your well explained and accurate post. I've a G4 since January 7th. 2.016, working until now without problems and is important to underline, heavily used, mostly as a music source. Wait to see, crossing the fingers.

  • It might be Black Market version

  • **i'm strongly recommending you not to buy this phone** this phone has a huge manufacturing error the meterial which used to sold the snapdragon cortex A57 chip has a big deffect and depending on your use the mobile will stop working within from 6 months to 1.5 years. The best thing is even the LG doesn't have a permanent solution.their only solution is replacing the motherboard which makes you happy for another 6 months until this problem appears again.even this is a manufacturing error they will ask you to pay 3/4 of the current price if your phone breaks after the warranty period. if you are dying to buy this phone without considering the user opinions i have to say is this phone has one of the best cameras and very attractive and beauty full which you can enjoy maximum upto 1.2 years....good luck :)

  • Don't buy it, my g4 suddenly stopped working when i contact Lg service center they asked 3/4 phones price to replace it's main board. And it is a production error

  • Affirmative answer very risky.

  • Contact your dealer.

  • I am using LG G4, unable to trace FM radio does it have one?

  • Dont buy this shit There are many problem in this mobile My stuck on boot :(

  • Great phone :D Will it get android 7 update !!

  • It's 2017 I would buy something else. Lots if choices.

  • which date of manufacturing should i bought . i am planning to buy it please suggest

  • Am getting only 2.5 hours screen on time after marshmellow update...why is that ??

  • Hi, i wanna know if LG is going to release an update to 7.0. Does anyone know?

  • Hi guys i got my lg g4 display glass brocken accidently.. My lcd work fine and touch screen too, should i pay for changing screen or it's will come under guaranty

  • If your phone is under warranty then fhey have to replace the motherboard free of cost. Mine boot looped after 10 months and they replaced motherboard free of cost. Try to contact authorized service center. And by the way im from india.

  • Yeah I recently purchased it for $108 AUD brand new condition. Apparently had the google lock on it & the user couldn't figure out the username & password so I purchased it & downloaded a bypass to penetrate the lock. Was a cinch! Works extremely well except my version cannot be bootloader unlocked since the H815T isn't supported so can't root.. Anyway is my G4 susceptible to the notorious bootloop? Purchased the 512 model hence it's manufactured in December 2015.

  • There is no official android 7 update known for the G4. Mods and custom recovery with 3rd party roms are your best bet. Just checkout xdadeveloper.

  • I've noticed a little weird thing with the G4 if the phone goes completely dead and shuts off and i can't get it to turn back on even when it's plugged in, i have to take the battery out then put it back in and it's fine. Other then that the phone has been awesome.

  • This phone was always on in a tmobile store for a year before i purchased it off of ebay. I bought this phone 6 months ago. and I'm very pleased. This was a used floor model but in perfect condition. I only paid $178.00 USD. and don't e discouraged by other negative posts. I've had no issues what so ever. and as far as gaming goes, the adreno 418 is plenty powerful. I got a score of 73,628 on ANTUTU 6. Getting a GPU score of 20,000 also scored 20,000 on the CPU as well. Heavily tested this phone. Not only with numerous games but third party apps. If your worried don't be. The later models that have bin deprived of the hardware issues are the ones to buy. Just be aware of the date your phone was manufactured before purchasing

  • When will it be updated to android 7 ?

  • Hi...I purchased LG G4 in December 2015 from Saudi arabia and after one year in December 2016 got boot-loop problem... when i contact with LG repair center they are asking additional money but my device is under warranty.how to solve this issue...

  • Hi, i am Syed Shujaat Ali from Lahore Pakistan. i purchased LG G4 in 09/2017. it was working fine but suddenly got bootloop error. i contacted to LG pakistan but they referred me to some private person. i contacted him and he told me that there is manufacturing fault in LG G4. he told me that new mother board cost is Rs.24000/-PKR. which is huge amount and i cannot afford this. i mailed to LG company but no satisfactory reply received. my cell phone is off. what should i do. nobody give reply.

  • It might work for another 6-8mnths. Then boot loop issue will pop up....mine was such a case.

  • Great phone. Great camera. Okay battery life. Excellent screen (a little burn in). I had the bootloop issue also, but was fixed under warranty. It's now back to being my daily driver. I would not buy one unless I knew the bootloop issue was fixed before hand though.

  • LG are the worst company I have dealt with stay well clear. 15 month old LG G4 Boot Looped 8 days ago and after over 8 hours of calls and 5 e-mails LG UK tell me they want £162 to replace the motherboard. Will never buy another LG product and have apologised to others who bought this phone on my recommendation.

  • Had the same problem but luckily my phone was insured and I think the warranty was still valid so they replaced the motherboard for free.

  • best wishes!! See my comments on LG G3.

  • Don't buy it!! I have bought a G4 one year ago and now i have got BOOTLOOP problem just 2 weeks after expiring warranty.. and now they says i have to pay 3/4 of phones price to replace the motherboard.

  • I have horrible screen burn as well on the top and edges of the screen.

  • Overview after 1 year and 4 months: -Image retention on top of the screen after 1 year; -Bootloop started today.

  • oh gawd!! just bought a 811 model from ebay for 200 USD. i had no idea of this bootloop devil. yet to recieve the phone and already scared to death reading reviews. was going for a second hand s6edge but checked myself due to supposedly poor battery life.guess g4 has become use and throw phone now

  • Worlds baddest phone i ever seen in my life i recently buy g4 but there hardware was damage with out any reason

  • Same problem

  • I have LG G4,i use only one year ,last month start surfer in screen split am trying to contact LG center in my country,They replayed to me G4 has no such problem. some time it display corrent full screen,3 week ago starting bootloop and now it dead. not charging not power one... i lost my money in buying LG g4

  • If you somehow just recently bought this phone I'd be worried. If you've been using the phone since mid 2015 I think it will be ok because otherwise it'd probably have bootlooped already if it was going to.

  • I got my Lg G4 in Korea. I fell in love with all its specs. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of all its bootloop thing. I had it only for 11months, and the photos and other stuffs were gone, cannot be retrieved anymore. Well I guess that would be my last lg. I am still hoping that it would be fixed when It gets back to Korea. Anywho Thinking about buying xiaomi, its kinda popular now.

  • hi. i have t-mobile lg-h811(g4) and its serial starts from 505. so i checked the imei at lg website and it show that it produced in may 2015. should i be worried about this boot loop issue. will this issue effect it

  • I've had my G4 for over a year and had no issues until recently traveling I put it in airplane mode. When I got to the hotel it wouldn't boot up. After chatting with LG support found out it was under warranty. They replaced the motherboard but I bought a IPhone 6s Plus since I needed a phone. I won't buy another LG phone.

  • I have never put. bad comments online but wanted people to know do not buy lg G4 phones all the complaints on here are true I bought two for 600.00 each worked ok for about a year both of them screen went out problems start when you update after long discussion with LG C.S they send you another one if you haven't had it over a year still owing $300 and not knowing if same is going to happen with it ...I personally can say my first and last LG. Back to Motorola ☺just wish I had read all these comments before buying would have saved lot of money and misery.

  • Dont buy lg again... Trust me i had the g2 at first ajd it suddenly stopped working as the motherboard failed..i decided then to buy g4 and also it stopped becoz of bootloop..lg is making very bad hardware... Go for htc or samsung instead i think

  • I'm using an LG G4 currently and no doubt it's the best phone I've owned, till today it's working without a single lag and issue but I'm afraid it'll get the boot loop problem soon.. Idk if I should get a Galaxy S7, Xperia Z5, Huawei P9, LG G5 or galaxy S6 edge plus now

  • What's your serial number on the back? As far as I know, any phone manufactured before Oct 2015 is susceptible to the notorious bootloop issue. Mine should be ok, made in dec 2015

  • I just got hit by the boot loop issue this morning, after a about 13 months, lost a great many pictures because of it. I had the 812 model if that makes any difference. KInda pissed with LG at the moment, probably going to go with the s7 next. P.S. I hail out of BC. unfortunately we are not graced to have avoided this problem.

  • will it be updated to android 7.0

  • I m not happy to hear that. My lg g4 turned one year recently. Still not an issue, i have same 812 model in Canada with fido. I had both samsung mini and s4 both were returned in warranty and had pda board replaced. That's why i stopped buying samsung, but my tablet tab a 9.7 with Spen rocks.

  • I have had my lg g4 model H812 for 13 month now and ye the boot loop got me. but because it happened with in the 1year warranty it was a free fix. BUT from then on the wireless charging does not work and the phone still heats up over +50c and the battery life still sucks. but because I'm in Canada I don't mind the hot phone it keeps my hands warm. other than the no wireless charging now gone and the heat and the low life battery the phone is great.

  • Dead pixels everywhere on my lg g4 screen...other than that it's a great phone

  • Just wanted to tell you about my experience with the LG G4 (Europe Version). It's a great phone while it lasts. From day one up to a year and a half from purchasing it i really enjoyed the phone. Camera is very good and the screen is amazing. Battery is not that good but i managed to go by half a day on one charge (I'm not a a power user. I use it for mails, phone calls, Whatsapp, Facebook and SMS). After 16 months the phone just died.Bootloop issue. If you can afford yourself to change phones every year then go for it. I'll never get another LG. I'll buy Samsung\Apple\Sony. I still have older phones and they still work.

  • man you know your electrics. Is this the fix that LG facilitates as mine was sent back around 4 months ago and is still working fine apart from the audio jack that i'm replacing

  • May I know what's the serial number of your g4?

  • Happened to me just the same way. My sister also. I loved the camera. Will never buy another lg phone. Lost a lot of things that was on the phone.

  • that's true but only works for h815international version only....so no love for other phone variants and as part as I know we can only turn on 1-4 a53 cores and not the two powerful a57 which are the cause of the loop ..... so lucky h815if know what they are doing ,... but luckier the ones with no issues don't you think

  • Ok i have my g4 for 1 year. Still is working like first day, I am in Canada with Fido. So I was lucky or the bootloop does not exist here? Has anyone in Canada got any issue with their g4?

  • The only way to avoid the bootloop is to not buy the phone.

  • I'm lucky because in Portugal the warranty is two years, i sent my G4 to the shop and they replaced everything for free except the screen. Since the Phone has a new imei they extended the warranty for another two years. Basically i have a new G4.

  • The issue with me but LG maintenance changed the board for free.

  • Can you tell me the international model of g4 stuck in bootloop or korean version

  • Which model you have

  • 3 weeks after warranty expires the phone overheat(boot loop)Do not purchase this phone please

  • Sam! According to your opinion G4 should buy, I also want to buy this mobile because I like it , can you please tell me when and why the bootloop happens and how to avoid it?

  • There is no fix, bootloop is caused by a hardware manufacture defect. DIY fixes (applying heat or cold) are temporary, use them to backup data. LG´s fix (motherboard change) is a scam. The will charge you a ridiculous amount of money (250 to 350 USD) for a "new" motherboard that eventually will be bootlooping within a year. LG sucks

  • It´s a pity that LG quality control is so bad because its design job is really good. My G4 went into bootloop 3 weeks after the end of the warranty. LG´s response? change the motherboard for 350 USD. A new motherboard that will have the same issue the next year. LG´s PR sucks. Please forgive poor G4, it couldn´t pick your creator...

  • you're right. Great phone overall (many feats others don't have replaceable battery, fm radio, sd slot, ir port...) but very low quality electronics. 350 euros wasted for me

  • you must bring it to the nearest assistance center. There's no other way since it's a hardware fault. They will change the motherboard and G4 will be ok... until the next bootloop (no joking)

  • please explain how to fix the boot loop with the lg g4

  • Worst buy ever. Phone was great. Then boot loop happened. $375 gone to waste. Over heats like crazy. LG should refund users their money. Selling this product is a scam.

  • This is great phone for the ones who know how to modifiy a rom. The big problem with this phone is bootloop ( as allready know) but with 3 h time you can resolve it. Stock soft + a little program will resolve bootloop but you will only work in 1 cpu. Root it very easy ( 3 minutes maximum if you know what to do) and then with a little program called CPU tuner you will have all cores working on full power. This is a great phone, great camera , great specs. I bought it even I knew about this problem. Have fun with yours !

  • anything but g4. Too many issues, low quality electronics and poor manufacturing controls I suppose

  • ...so far

  • bootloop problem, I did not recommend anyone to buy this LG model .. already suffer from this problem ... my LG G2 (rooted, bootloader unlock, xposed) still life strongly while the G4 already death. Using G5 right now but still doubtful that this problem will haunting this new G series.

  • I would not recommend this phone, unless you plan to switch phones in a year anyway. I had this phone for 11 months and it is stuck on bootloop and LG refuses to fix it under warranty, because it has physical damage (some scratches on the side). In addition to this, 3 of my friends have the same exact issue after an year of owning the phone. It would need a new motherboard, which one of my friends decided to swap and surprise-surprise after 6 months it was stuck on bootloop again.

  • I want to buy Lg G4 for its cemra quality and battery life...Should i buy it or not bcz some people are taulking about bootloop problem

  • I know what you say! I have the same problem ... not my phone is dead because the bootloop infected him

  • Don't bother with this phone. Mine is stuck in bootloop and repairs cost is more than a new handset.

  • A Bootloop is where a device doesnt get into the operating system, but instead, just tries to boot over and over again, but failing.

  • No, it's not the same. Don't make stuff up, it reeks of desperation.

  • I think this bootloop issue in LG phones are around since the early days. Because G4 is not the only phone I heard this issue of, LG optimus G was also infected of this bootloop problem.

  • lol its the same g4 to v20 its lg not matched with cheap accessories

  • do u replace the battery and checked ?

  • This 'USB' nonsense is for the V20 bootloop issue, not the G4 bootloop. Or so LG claims.

  • I had an LG G4 H815 in the US. It went into bootloop the 365th day of use. Bought from B&H and they could not get LG US, LG international, or any repair center to fix or replace it. I really liked the phone and the features, but LG has really dropped the ball with this one in a major way. I'm now looking for a new phone.... By the way, if you have a G4 make sure you back up everything. I lost a lot of files (all cardboard panoramas were not beeing backed up as well as texts, settings, preference etc.)

  • I hate to sound dumb but what is boot loop? I've had my LGG4 since march 2016 and haven't had a problem until today. I unplugged it from the charger and went to use it when all of a sudden it shut off and now it will not turn back on. Battery was fully charged. Phone wasn't hot. What the crap??

  • I have a G4 bought july 2015...Best phone i have ever used... Better than daughters samsung and sons htc .they all have had problems My G4 has been perfect from day one....cheers

  • it doesn't make sense for u but when one had bad experience what can our do. i m sharing my experience that was worst for me.

  • Use specific and original usb type not the cheap one then you safe from the crap bootloop

  • Totaly troll you bought g3 and g4 the same time?? Lol then if think Lg phone was not good why you wanna still to buy it??? Its not make senses either

  • i beg you dont ever go for any lg mobile i have used g2,g3 and g4 all are very poor. only g2 was little better. i bought g3 and g4 about 3 months ago. g3 shutdowns and g4 bootloop problem. i hv drowned my money. now permanent bye to lg.

  • Hello All, please don't buy this cell phone. If you already did, please sell it out asap. I bought this mobile and everyone told me things like "the bootloop doesn't comes in this model OR the bootloop only comes in specific models". Trust me, the boot loop comes in all the models and the LG Company admitted this mistake on their end recently. So please don't waste your money. I have a dead set placed in my drawer right now and many of my friends have these dead phones of LG G4. If you still want to go for LG, I would recommend to go for LG G5 or LG G3.

  • Don't do it to yourself? The bootloop comes quick

  • Stay away from the g4

  • Please reply me Now i want to buy lg g4 5 may 2016 version Is bootloop. Problem appear in latest version or it was fixed in 2016 versions?

  • Good phone. After 6months. Bootlop. Now its dead. So sad that the money ive spent buying this product is not worth it. . Goodbye LG

  • Cons:Bootloop, overheat, bad battery, takes long to charge, restart by itself Pros: Alot of storage, camera, fast, easy to carry.

  • Lol you getting bootloop too

  • what should i buy lg g4 or zuk z1 (i am a regular user)

  • Well, the bootloop is pretty unique...
