I've had this phone for about 3 years now and it's screen has just packed up after a good amount of use.Whilst the screen isn't working the main phone itself still works exactly the same as normal. so i can still make phone calls but just cant see what im doing. It's been a very resiliant phone, having been bashed repeatedly and even dropped into a glass of water and survived. The main thing that i really hate about this phone however is the vibrate. I don't know if it's just my LG but the vibrate on this thing is loud enough to alert the whole room that i have recieved a text - hardly the point of vibrate. Generally it has served me well, but i am glad for the excuse to buy a new phone!

I just use G5300, I think this phone is not good enough. I had some problem with this phone. The message alert can not vibrate together with the tone,if I activate vibration alert I can not realize when any message come, if I activate tone, I can hear the sound in the crowded. If it is compered with the monocrome phone, the sound is very very low. I also notice that the alarm can not active if the phone is off. actually...I got so many many many problem with this phone.

Hi people I have an LG G5300, this phone however is only sms and ems it does not support MMS, that is why you can not open the MMS, and are directed to the url address to view your MMS message, it is a good looking phone, however it as some disappointing flaws, has anyone come across echoing while talking to someone, now to deal with that operator logo, go to settings, then phone settings, then display settings, scroll down to network name, then press select, you will see network name, two options, on or off, it thats simple, forget about what noodle said, sorry mate, but you really dont need to be be that technical to turn off the logo, hope this helps, because it really is this easy to do.

hi guys, i'm from italy and i discovered on a forum on the net how to transfer a java midlet created for a generic phone to the LG5300i (it should work on other models too). you must do this: 1)edit the .jad file of the midlet and add at the end this line: "MIDletX-LG-Contents: G5310" (without the quotes) 2) copy both the .jad and .jar files in the folder C:\Programs\LGGSM\LGContentsBank\Contents\Java 3) start the content-bank software and you'll find the new entry note that dont works with all midlets ciao ciao!!! :)

Hi, I'm from Greece and I just bought the LG G5300i. Everething is all right, its cute, with good screen and nice quality of sound, but... a. I can't turn off the keys' sound without turning off and the other notification sounds b. The images I upload instead of 65K colors are 256 c. I can't upload midlets (using the LG_Contents_Bank) not created from LG (btw, what midlets has created LG and where I can find them?) d. I can't recieve MMS' , I get a msg of new incoming MMS but it fails at the download Thanx from now for any attempt to help me P.S. does anyone know if LG has released a software update?

This phone was the biggest dud our company ever sold, (I won't say which one), technically a 150% return ratio (if you include the repeat returns!) great looking phone, but the coverage and reception was below poor, it was crap! If the reception was good, then it may have been a good phone.

For all Australian owners frustrated by a lack of accessories for the 5300i, cellnet seem to have the data kit at a reasonable price at least, $55. www.cellnet.com.au/web/commerce/cellnet/frameset­_unregistered.jsp. Typically I just found this having written off an extensive email pleading our case to LGE.au! Hope this helps a few users.

You can do much batter with a Nokia and you will be able to get Car Kits for them to. But I have to somthing like the 6610 that has the same fitting on the bottom for the Car Kit's and charger's DO NOT have a genuine Car Kit for it but the likes of Force do go figar........

I'm also pissed off with not being able to read the screen saver time & date when sceen fades out. Does anyone know of a solution? Other phones tend to light up when trying to unlock them! Also there is no 'ring once' option in the profiles. Wish I did more research!

LG 5300i at first glance this is a nice phone, at $149 thanks to vodafone who can complain. but after 72 hours there are a few things that Im pissed about. Cant take off the operator logo! the fade out then the phone is locked makes it almost impossible to read the clock and date feature! and I have had aproblem witht the vibrate alert not working.. also the sound for the sms alert is too soft and the keypad tone is annoying when typing in a message! Im sorry that my 8210 died because nokia still have a slightly better product Im afraid

Well had it a few days now pleased to say no echo on either one of them, However the hadnsfree car kit is a pain in the arse to track down.You would thing that if they put a product on the shelf here in Australia the they would supply a carkit for it given the fact that if the arsehole law (police) see you on it while you are driving they will book you, I do not use my phone while I am on the moove anyway cos I am still have a carkit for my Nokia 8210. Nice one LG bring out a great phone and render it useless to car owners all round the world.

I get the echo as well, but I'm using the case that came with it. Is there anyway of stopping it? I've been trying to find a data kit for it too. I found one at GMA but it's $99, a lot for a cable and CD.

I picked up a 5300i from Vodafone in Canberra, Australia on Tuesday. Had fun playing with it for a couple of days until somebody actually called me and reported a severe echo at their end. Tried calling the G5300i from various landlines and mobiles, and each time, the caller would hear their own words clearly echoed back to them with a couple of seconds' delay. No problems on the G5300 end, though. Took it back to Vodafone who just took off the clear plastic clip case I'd brought for it and gave it back to me. The echo almost completely disappeared. It's still there, but without the delay and it's so faint as to be almost undetectable. If I ask a caller if there's an echo they talk for a bit and say 'well, now that yu mention it, there's a really, really faint echo...'. It doesn't detract from the quality of the conversation, and if I don't mention it they don't seem to notice. For the price (AUS$149 with a $30 SIM), I'm more than happy with it.

Its my third G5300! All others went back due to the "unknown" echo promlem. Or as they put it "we've never heard of this problem" Bullshit. Anyone who calls you will hear an echo. If you have this phone don't accept a repair as it is a problem that exists from manufacture.

I just got this phone and I must say I like it.. Except from one ANNOYNG detail! It turns itself off every 5 minutes, and then on again.. So I cant use it to make calls.. I contacted the dealer about this problem, and the only way to fix it was to send it to the other side of the country, wich truly suxx, cause that means it will take forever, and Ill be leaving the country to study abroad soonish so I really dont have time :S Another thing is that you cant change the language of the SMS dictionary.. Since I write SMSs in two languages I have to always change the language of the whole phone, which is VERY frustrating!!I also think its a bit big, but Im spoilt with Ericssons T66.. Love the screen tho! Awsome colours :) Does anyone know where I can download stuff for this phone??

Its my 8th mobile so far and I think Its the best one too . +ive points are the color, ringtones and easy 2 use but the -ive points are the accessories , memory and specially its battery life ! It couldnt even stay for couple of days :S But I'd say ... Better than Nokia and Samsung !

Great phone but lousy screen cause using STN technology. I will not compare it as a combination of Nokia and Samsung but rather Nokia and Daewoo. Yes Daewoo did come out a phone and the screen quality of this two phone is amusingly identical.

its damm expensive if its for us$352.. u can get a samsung v-200 for less than that in u.a.e.. it shud be for around $135 - $140... maximum $170.. and u dont even have a camera for this..

I think the mobile compares pretty well to other nokia colour mobiles of the same price, but think which is still vague is whether the java/mms upgrades are going to be available for the customers anytime soon, cos only then would i really think it would be a really good mobile to own. One more thing, they should make more dance/hip hop and r&b ringtones as the only ringtones available are the ones that come with the cd. This is very annoying :P.

LG G5300 has a good color..however, e MMS is stil not uploeaded for us user,therefore,could not receive, send MMS,which is rather inconvenient.Also, E GPRS is not upgraded also.no website is able to be compactable for LG G5300 phone..i wish the engineer for this phone can come to a solution for these problem asap and get bk to mi thru email..
