LG G Vista - User Reviews

  • Slow. Too many factory apps that aren't wanted/needed and take up a lot of room. Love large screen-use it to read books from local library.

  • Sounds like the proximity sensor might be bad

  • The internal GPS has never worked, but otherwise the phone is okay.

  • Wife & I both have LG Vistas, bought the same day but at different stores (because they were out of stock at one). One (mine) has this problem of losing GPS connections; other (hers) does not. Mine also never got an Android upgrade (to 5.x), while hers did. (We saw the difference in GPS behavior before she got her upgrade.) That leads me to believe there were slightly different chipsets or internals on Vistas, some of which are problematic, some less so.

  • I have an LGGVista. Been good phone until lately. It has started to go black as soon as I dail a number and it will not come back up so I can disconnect if the person does not answer. Is the so;mething I can do to fix it or do I h ave to replace the phone.

  • I absolutely HATE this phone. I may have gotten a lemon but the thing can't hold onto a GPS for the life of it making navigation hugely frustrating. It sometimes doesn't ring when I get a call, instead going straight to voicemail. LG seems to have it's own way of making Android Android. Maybe all the brands do but going to the LG G Vista from a Samsung S4 was disappointing. Just little things like a notification reminder. Mine is an AT&T phone so there's that VERY annoying insistence of AT&T crap. Hate it! I finally had enough and threw over $700 at a Galaxy 8+. Big jump but after the experience with this G Vista thing, I'm done with LG. To be fair, I based my opinion on this one phone and LG may have some good offerings, but I really liked the S4 until I cracked the screen and thought I'd try something bigger. On the plus side, the G Vista has a nice big screen, the battery is unstoppable and the performance (other than the GPS and Signal strength) is acceptable.

  • Really great phone as far as display. Is my go to movie phone when u don't wanna deal with a bulky pad based phone. Stick a cheap peel n stick kickstand on that bad boy, load your movie or photo slideshow n watch your ass off. Other features are up to normal standards and some better features woulda made it a nicer phone, but for the price, it was dead on.

  • As phones go it is not anywhere near great but if you are looking for just a basic cheap smart phone it gets the job done. Those who say they only get 3 apps installed are grossly exagerating. I set one of these up last night, installed a 32 gig MSD card to handle music and pictures for a friend. Installed Facebook, messenger, textra, outlook, updated google drive, google play services, and installed a few other apps and the phone is not full. Yes the OS eats about 4.2 gig of the 8 gig. Install a Micro SD card, 12.99 for a patriot 32gig class 10. I have 64 gig in my V10 and I am barely using 16 gig so a 32gig card should hold you over until you can get something better and newer. Set your pics to upload to Google Drive and occasionally clear your pics. Remember it is not supposed to be a high end device.

  • LMAO!!! Your my hero! 😂😂😂

  • sure its a great phone if you only want to text call and surf. If you want to download applications to access Facebook, snapchat, Facebook messenger then BOOM storage full so then you buy an SD card and switch all applications I've downloaded to SD and i switched all applications to store on SD that the phone will allow me to and still every single day it acts up and tells me i have no internal storage left and that i need to delete the very applications that I've moved to my SD card. I hate this phone

  • my LG g Vista has a poor camera quality especially, with the front one so LG must really upgrade on that

  • I tell you what it's a halfway decent phone I like the size this play is okay but when you have your headphones in the phone people can't hear you so that takes away from it all but other than that it's pretty okay but these jabbering gooks that be making these Falls some of them need to go take the time to fix that issue other than that the phone is okay if you unplug your headphones you can talk on it they can hear you good but when you plug your headphones in and goes in and out people can't hear you sometimes so why is that an issue and let us know what we have to do to fix that issue

  • bwahahahhahahahahahaha, remind me not to go to whatever phone store you go to, im on my lg g vista right now. grant it it is a pretty shitty phone but my lg h vista charges to full battery in like 2-3 hours. tge battery life is amazing. if i only use it to talk it will stay alive over 24 hours. my phone has never called the police, bwahahhahahahahahahaha, never had a issue with it responding to my touch. the home button doest work once in a blue moon. the phone is only 95 bucks. i have like 20 apps ice downloaded, and have more then enough space to update them all, i can delete face book and twitter and any other app without a problem. so my suggestion is to stop watching so much porn and try to stay away from whatever else you must be doing to get viruses. cuz for 95 bucks this phone is absolutely amazing.

  • This phone is terrible. Mine is fairly new and glitches all the time. It doesn't allow you to delete apps such as Facebook and Twitter and barely has any storage. I have three apps on my phone and all my photos on an SD card and I can't even update my apps due to the lack of storage! On top of that it glitches... A LOT. Within the past 24 hours my phone has glitched and called the police TWICE! When my phone is in my pocket it'll even call the police. Other glitches include not responding to your touch, not responding to the lock button, deleting words in texts after they're written, and many more. I would only recommend getting this phone if you like hearing "911, what's your emergency?" coming out of your pocket for no reason. DO NOT GET THIS PHONE

  • I have the phone and I think its amazon

  • i need a motherboard of this phone do u guys have motherboards?

  • Don't really like this phone, storage is very limited & constantly have to erase & delete apps & pics to be able to install more apps (and no I don't have a lot of apps that I keep on my phone, but with Facebook, Google, and Facebook Messenger installed & kept up to date, the storage is well past almost full.

  • i have had this phone for a year and already do not like it. the screen flickers, the headphone jack doesn't work (never did), it randomly shuts off, get really hot on the back even when using it for 15 minutes. i wish i could give a better review on this but it isn't a great phone.

  • I've had my LG VISTA FOR ONLY A YEAR AND ITS ALREADY GIVING ME TROUBLE TRYING TO CHARGE IT. IT HAS TO BE ON CHARGE FOR NEARLY 12hours to get a 100% battery life. And the storage is GARBAGE !!! I can't have but 2 apps on my phone at time and I'm constantly having delete pics and videos just not be able to take more pics, ugh it's so annoying. No memory has worked in this phone. This phone was the worst decision of my life

  • What do you mean by root? And is it difficult to do? Where can I find the kingroot you mentioned Thank you

  • hi,yes!!! what you have to do is root the phone and install sqlite editor......google how to use sqlite editor to fix mobile hotspot and shazaaaam!!! your hotspot issue will be history

  • Only expands memory for phones not apps

  • Great battery life. Nice screen, both size and clarity. Streams Uverse/Hulu no problem. Takes OK photos, not great, but captures the memory. Dependable - I've had fewer issues with this phone than any I've owned (other than the dial phone I had on Ohio Bell as a kid). Well-designed, buttons in the right spots, never have this turn on in my pocket or butt-dial. Fantastic price - bought new on Amazon for $125. I'd recommend this phone to anyone.

  • I got this phone for free and I still want my money back. While it has lasted me 2 years, I constantly run into problem. The camera seems good on my own display, but when I send pictures to others with different phones, the image always has a black border around it and isn't clear. Whenever I receive a picture via the built in text messaging system, the image is distorted to almost an unrecognizable version of the original image. While it may seem like a good deal for the price tag, if you constantly use your phone, there are much better LG products. Hell, I would rather use a LG dishwasher as a phone than this pile Chinese child shit.

  • Umm, that's why there is a card slot. I added a 32 gigabyte card to mine

  • I'm not going to say this is the best phone I've ever had, but I'd give it a straight 7 of 10. The limited storage space is the only issue I have, but a $15 SD card can fix that quite easily. I actually had this phone back from May to Early August and ended up getting rid of it. However, I just purchased another one today. Great screen size (if you have trouble with texting one handed, use the LG keyboard feature to help downsize the keyboard and it being on one side of the screen, or do what I did and use SwiftKey). Battery life is really nice. I can make it through an 8-10 hour shift with mild use (texting, wifi on, though not constantly on social media) and only lose about 30% charge on the shifts I use it most. Great phone for the price, I'd definitely recommend if you're wanting to save cash, but try out a larger phone.

  • Honestly this phone is great for price. the only problem i had with it is spotify crashing suddenly but other then that its good

  • It's your sim card or the tray it sits if no damage send to LG to repair. That why they are going to no similar phones

  • This phone is honestly a piece of shit. It won't let me receive any messages because it says my storage space is out when I only have 4 apps and I already cleared my cache. It also restarts itself without even touching it. Bottom line this is the most terrible device I've had over the years and I can't wait to get an Apple

  • First I read the review before ordering most were terrible negative review that prevent me from ordering this phone. when I now order the phone it works great!!!! For any one trying to buy this phone and the negative review is hindering you to hit the order button never listen to them because this phone is greatttttttttttt!!!!!! large screen everything I am so in loved with it and cant get enough of it!!!

  • I cant find 3G on my LG G vista. I have checked everywere in rhe phone i didnt find it . I checked 'more networks' but nothing.I upgraded it to lollipop i dont know if thats the issue. Any idea on whats going on??

  • It's the worst phone I've ever had my! Maybe it's because it's prepaid...I don't know...it shouldn't make any difference where prepaid or contract. Had since May 24 2016...refilled my minutes and that's when it started acting up..dropping calls..sending and incoming. I'm tired of calling customer service for help that is temporary!

  • Take it back if still in warranty. I have one that started these issues. They sent me another one. Had this one for about a year with not very many issues.

  • This phone doesn't have much storage. Although it says 8GB, really it is only about 4GB of free space because half of it is System Data. It all depends on how many apps you plan on having. If you are like me and use a lot of apps and and social media, then don't get this one or else you will be deleting stuff quite often to make room for other stuff.

  • I dont have an lg yet, but i am thinking to buy one, whats the advice on this ??

  • My mom my sister and I have the same phone.these phones are the worst ever they won't charge they freeze up you have to take battery out to before it works.they flicker. They sometimes cut off on its on goes from one screen to next.speakers sound like they busted.they need a recall on these

  • it records video in high capacity. ten minutes and u are around 300mb of space

  • Never had any issues with this phone whatsoever on Verizon. I've actually bought two of them (because I was a dumbass and dropped the first one on the screen) and never been more satisfied. The asking price for the quality of this phone is great. For those who have issues, I must also wonder if it's your carrier and whether they can utilize the capabilities of the phone. If you add a 64-128 GB microsd card to it, it does just fine with applications. Marshmallow is awesome as well, no problems at all. I've owned "expensive" phones in the past as well, and I've learned that it's primarily just a cell phone- it's not meant to replace a full desktop computer, so I really don't need an expensive one. I also don't play games on it, it's there for phone calls and utility (GPS/maps, looking things up now and then, reading the news, email, etc.) so if others are trying to replace a full computer with it then no wonder you have performance issues. It's a cell phone, not a supercomputer folks.

  • how do I switch to GSMonly?

  • My phone keeps telling me to charge it with an approved "LG" charging cord. I AM USING AN APPROVED CORD!! LG told me to reset the phone to factory settings. So, I get to lose everything and start over. Thanks LG for a horrible experience! Why would you even have your phone require your charging cord? Perhaps to make more money? Selfish! The whole reason for the standardized mini USB was to eliminate all the different chargers and allow consumers to keep their old ones. As I stated in my direct message to you, I will NEVER purchase an LG device again unless you can give me a download to fix it. You chose to make me reset my phone. I AM DONE WITH LG!

  • I only have standard 2g and 4g combine

  • my new phone wont let me call unless i take off airplane mode, but it is not on airplane mode

  • Man come fix mine then. I can only load a few apps. And GPS only worked once when driving through Utah.

  • I like mine I have a Verizon lg g vista and haven't had no problems. I won't root cause have you seen that fastboot method that's not the proper unlock of the phone and its just someones way of cutting corners. Its like my car door is locked so instead of using the actual car keys I'm going to take a brick and smash my window then unlock it by putting my hand in and pressing the unlock button. I really enjoy this and am not going to ruin it by trying to root.

  • Lg g vista is the worst and I.ve about had them all I can hear the caller but it is sorry when I.m trying to talk to them I have to repeat myself over and over

  • Callers have a hard time hearing me on my lg g vista what can I do

  • Go to your settings it looks like a screw. Wi-fi will give you option to turn on

  • my mobile hotspot is unable to turn on can someone help me here please

  • does anyone have trouble with merging phone calls then no one can hear you but you hear them just fine

  • Has anyone used it with lollipop on it? I was thinking about getting one but if I did, the first thing I would do is update soo I wanted to make certain it was stable and all that good stuff. Thanks.

  • Hey guys. Ive had this phone about a month now. Its working fine. Ive read alot of negative reviews about "not enough memory space being 8gb internal memory. I rooted my lg with kingroot app.ive downloaded dozens of apps and still have enough for more. Im using lucky patcher too move all games and apps too my 32 gb sdcard. Ive had no issues with gps. Battery last 2-3 days on standy by. 1 day on playing games all day lol. This is a nice phablet. Hope this review helped.Cheers.

  • Here is the thing, 1. This phone has reception that's just "ok" compared to others I have tested side by side on AT&T. 2. One step to fix GPS is "GPS Status and toolbox" which is an app that can reset your GPS and even download the latest Satellite info. 3. I noticed on my G Vista after Lollipop that the Google Play Services was outdated at Version 8.4.89 and did not update. The current version as of March 2016 is 8.7.3 which I had to sideload onto the phone. Also as a launcher use "Nova Launcher" since the LG one is pretty heavy on the phone.

  • I have had the phone for a year, the GPS never worked, I often have to go into airplane mode and back to detect networks, I can hold a total of 5 apps which are not very big and can not download anything...looking for a new phone very disappointed.

  • Like you, my last phone was an HTC One VX and it was just the worst phone. Wanted a large screen for a moderate price and settled on the LG Vista. On my second one since last February, the first one had a glitch where the volume icon had a line through it and could only be used with the speaker. So far, this second one is working but after February of this year, I will be stuck with it no matter what happens. Got rid of as much bloatware as I could without doing damage to anything but unfortunately, the 8 gig s d card in it won't take all the apps I try to put on it, something I am not happy about. If I could get rid of the phone for another without losing much on it, I would but have no idea how to get rid of it!

  • It's not a piece of shit it's ur location n reception on your location samsung or lg sounds to me that you don't know anything about smartphones you buy a phone than loction dosnt work n right away you all say phone don't but that is not true read the guide book carefully n learn.if location area is not good than all the phones you buy is not going to work......

  • I love this phone but this site has it wrong, it can handle 128 gb micro sd the only problem I had was the storage was so low so I bought the biggest sd card I could find

  • This phone is pure shit! Plain and simple! I had to have my first vista replaced because no one could hear me when I was talking on the phone. They would all keep telling me to repeat what I just said because they couldn't hear me. So with this replacement piece of shit that I've had for about a month and a half, I haven't been able to talk to anybody on this phone for the past week, because nothing I'm saying can be heard!! I've had to use my house phone to conversate lately! This garbage phone is going back to the dealer asap for a different model!!! Samsung here I come!

  • I am amazed at all of the negative reviews. Needs to be "rooted to be worth a crap" etc. Perhaps your problems are your carrier? Something to consider. AT&T and T-Mobile are wothless depending on where you live. Absolute waste where I live. Also consider, if you want all the capabilities of a $700 phone, then you are going to have to spend $700 on a phone; plain and simple. I have this phone, on Verizon network, great speed, no call distortion.

  • I used to switched off my WiFi,but some few weeks ago the WiFi can't be switched off.whenever I switched it off,it doesn't go,pls any help.

  • Well that's quite specific.........Durrrrrr

  • Well that's quite specific.........Durrrrrr

  • Root it! Use Linux live USB, ABD and FastBoot to write custom ROMS. Free up 2 2more gigs internal men on the spot. Reconfigure a few things and you have a battery that lasts days, google spyware is your call not theirs. It's cheaper, bigger screen, and has a better processor than the G3. It does come loaded down with what some may call 'Google Spyware' but it's industry standard to spy on us sell our data...so IDK... I also just learned that BitCoin is. Developed by an alias that some claim to be a Google scheme to produce their own currency accepted world wide. It trades on private markets and has a currency conversion rate listed where? Take a guess... Is all this BitCoin backed by gold?! Not a milligram. Its backed by applying processor power to solve alogorithms, each one solved, the next one changes and is harder... Damn cool!

  • You nailed it! I came from an old HTC also and I thought this thing was great. Damn GPS...!! Bottom line is this device needs to be rooted and optimized to be worth a crap. Finally some solid ways to root out there.

  • biggest laggiest piece of shit on the plannet

  • This is the worst phonebi have ever bought in my entire life it forces me to have all these apps that take up loads of space that i dont even use! I would rather have a junky flip phone than this piece of crap!!!!

  • how to update the access point names on this phone? where to find it?

  • Thank you for your review

  • Well I got this phone and I have next to nothing on it I have an SD card in it everything is on my SD card because this phone can't hold ANYTHING I can't update anything I hate it its the worst phone ever I dropped it and now it's all messed up it won't do anything it has lines running through it its just the biggest piece of crap ever

  • Its the biggest piece of shit i couldve got no cracks on screen nor no damage i used all of the inusrance claims i had just for this phone its overheated on me the screen glitches out and wont call half the time waste of money

  • No wonder they are giving this phone away for free. I just got my free one and we'll...it's not even worth being free. That's sad.

  • Hi there i just got this phone, havent used it yet. Its storage says 3.7 gb user available. Approximately how many apps can you put inside the phone ? and what is its application memory ?

  • The excellent device, for small money. Smart accumulator, good display, beautiful design.

  • Initially this phone was solid. I was coming over from an ancient HTC Incredible that had been maxed out 2 years ago so the initial perception was that this was an amazing phone. My three biggest issues are: - GPS performance - system constantly loses GPS signal. I've observed this with the Google Navigator, Location-based app searches, and Waze so I don't think it's the apps. My friend's phone side by side with mine was working fine. - Writing to the SD card is possible, but convoluted. Many 3rd party apps cannot without root. It's a security decision made at the OS level (Google) but it's very annoying and hopefully this can improve over time. - Operating memory - very small. Not enough to run smoothly. Constantly closing apps. Most commonly, DoubleTwist. Response is slow and sometimes the whole system locks up to the point where it doesn't even recognize the power button being pressed.

  • I too have had issues with the gps... And been hours out of my way with it. When i spoke to att about it. They said it is not a common problem. After reading your post... I am mad... Because now i know they are not owning up to the phines flaw

  • This phone is nice but the internal memory sucks. I have transfered everything I can to my 32 gig memory card and it still says I don't have enough memory. It mAkes me real mad

  • I got my phone in December I liked at first, but I constantly have people tell me my phone is breaking up, they I am cutting in and out. Another issue I have with this phone is the voice command app on the phone sucks I like to use voice to text and this does not work good at all. Overall I do not like this phone at all I would not tell anyone to buy this phone, LG did a bad job with this phone.

  • Been using this phone since September 2014 after upgrading from a HTC OneVX. I got it because it had more bang for the buck at the moment compared to the Samsung Galaxy and HTC One. The screen is nice and big, the display is bright and vibrant. My biggest peeve is that is drops GPS connectivity way too often. I use GPS on Google Maps daily for work and the GPS signal is lost numerous times each day. Its really annoying...didn't experience this problem with the OneVX or the the Motorola Bravo before it.

  • Just got the phone and it's a absolutely amazing. I loveeee this phone. At&t for 50 bucks. Love the camera. It fixes the face just right. Wonderful size. Great display. Just got back from parade took pictures like crazy and the battery is still way up there. I recommend it to everyone.

  • all i got to say is i got it about 4 days ago and its the best phone i have had it seems pretty fast and zippy

  • I currently have this phone and have decided to get rid of it. It is laggy in performance and constantly restarting itself. It drops network fairly regular as well. I am using the Verizon Version, in the U.S., but my experience has been pretty bad.

  • LG G Vista 2nd cost $170 in Vietnam. Does this phone work smooth or lag? I'm afraid the SnapDragon 400 and 1,5GB Ram make this phone work slowly. Im gonna buy this pls give me your experience

  • I love this phone it's the best

  • Love this phone is amazing

  • Well this phone is nice I love it

  • Got the Vista a week ago along with the free 7" LG G Pad (AT&T)and I'm really liking both of them. This phone is slightly bigger than the iPhone 6 plus. Display listed as 1280, PPM count is around 267, but it's sharp and clear to my eye. Battery life, at this point, is outstanding, I don't worry if I haven't plugged them in for the night. I don't feel like it's draining away just sitting there. Kit Kat 4.4 has some nice new features and improved GUI compared to 4.0, but the online comments are saying the Vista is in line for Lollipop 5.0 in 1st qtr. Quad-core Snapdragon 400 feels very zippy coming from a dual-core, YMMV. Youtube video is very smooth. G Pad is a 7" version of the Vista. I am told you can take calls on it if the phone is in close range. Any micro USB charger will work as long as it's at least 1 amp, anything lower will not work on the phone or the tablet. On a 1 amp charger, both charge very quickly. I'm getting used to the volume controls on the back, but I can one-hand it most of the time. Fits in a dress shirt pocket width easily but sticks up about an inch, really no problem. It's characterized as a mid-spec phone but, if you haven't gotten a new phone in two years like me, the quad-core and newer Android OS is a great upgrade. All in all, very satisfied and happy with what I think was a great deal from AT&T.

  • who has this phone? how about scoreof antutu?

  • Got it a couple days ago. So far so good.

  • Bought the LG Vista almost 1 week ago and can't say enough good things about it. Screen is amazing, OS is smooth and works amazingly, user interface is well put together and can customize tons of things on it. Overall I would give it a 8.5 out of 10. I am a veteran cell phone user and I put it up there with the HTC One (m8), Galaxy S5, Galaxy Note 4, and any other in that category.

  • I want this device.Superb features.can anyone say whats the price of this device in india?

  • Lg g pro is not bigger, screen size is 5.5,just traded mine for the lg g vista which is 5.7.

  • This is a really great phone for the price...especially if you can find one used/refurbished/or new-other! I got mine for $235, mint condition, with case and tempered glass screen protector! Antutu of 17998 is in line with other phones like this including the BLU Studio 6.0 HD and Huawei Ascend Mate 2. BUT this phone is much more polished and much smoother with a better screen than anything else like it!

  • Not really biggest smartphone from LG. G pro 2 has 5.9 " Screen.

  • I got this phone about a week ago and I'm impressed with it I like it better then Samsung

  • not exactly LG Flex is 6 inches

  • Just got this phone n I love it!!! Everything is above n beyond my expectations

  • Hi guys News says it has been launched in US. Anyone out there got a chance for a hands on ? Please share howz this device.

  • woooowwww ..... 5.7" disply .. biggest smartphone of LG ..

  • yeah...lol... ok let me comment ... it is a device !!!!!!! omg i cant believe it :p

  • no comments, lol
