i try this and it works, this will restore back to all original setting on lg gm730, backup all your data on to microSD, remove your microSD, go to start, setting, system, clear storage. setup a password, enter, then clear phone memory. remember this is like reformat and reinstall windows all install software or program will be deleted.

Download PHMregedit.cab Install cab to your phone follow the path of the registry to be edited then replace the LGEUMS.dll to htmlnote.dll (all 3 of them) reset your phone and you're good to go. any other inquiries, email me at [email protected]

if you are using GM730 WM6.5 version tap start> setting>clock & alarms> select your country from time zone drop down list, then tap date select the correct month & date. tap on time hh mm ss onw by one use the up down arrow on the side to change the time. tap ok when done. hope this help.

Hi, Im from Malaysia. you can use the LG Mobile Support Tools to update your phone. very easy update from WM6.1 to WM6.5 i done my phone update using mobile broadband, it takes 55min to complete. 120MB update file,install,soft reset,done. if using high speed broadband connection will be less then 55min.

Got GM730 for a day and trade it for GT505. GT505 still the best. gm730 allows you to do document edit becos of the OS but its so stressful. edit on an actual lap top is better, bigger screen. so omit the OS system GT505 still the BEST

hi slayer, sorry for the 2nd post. if u already have the upgrading software. simply connect your phone, start the lg upgrade apps, then it'll detect your current version. once detected your device and the firmware, u choose 'Start Updating'. Ignore all the carriers it listed out. Just simple choose the 'Start Updating' will do. the rest will done by itself. ofcoz, make sure u backup everything else your device will be "blank" like a brand new device :) good luck!

Finally...i've got my Eigen updated to 6.5!! i did as what earlier post wrote, updated for once but still 6.1 until i updated the 2nd time after a week, now it's running 6.5...it's very smoother than 6.1 and it corrected alot of errors! thanks guys for the guide :) cheers!

on the home screen where u have the s-class interface, there is a small dice like icon at the bottom right. press it and under settings, choose usb to pc(it is at the most right of the utilities, u have to scroll it leftwards). choose usb mass storage instead of active sync. hope this helps:)

Just follow this thread: 6.5 ROM for singapore: :9002/swdata/WEBSW/GM730/ASGPBK/V20h_00/V20H_00.­kdz guide: ok I managed to update my GM730 via KP500-Utils. quite tricky but this is the closest upgrade process with standard LG update process. below is the steps: 1. run LGUserCSTool.exe --> start update and when there is a prompt [Close] [Next] choose [Close]. basically you just need to be in emergency mode screen. 2. unplug the usb and plug in back again. 3. run KP500-Utils-EN 4. choose I and extract the V20H_00.kdz to V20H_00.cab 5. choose J and type GM730 follow by cab name and firmware name (V20H_00) 6. the Phone Update software will start to extract V20H_00.cab file in this folder C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\LGMOBILEAX\Phone 7. wait until finish as the normal process update from LG on this process upgrade there is a additional file extracted from cab process . amss.mbn file (beside flash.bin, GM730WR.dll, dz) so probably this is the issue why we can't downgrade to WM6.1 anymore unless you can get all the file that describe in GM730_service_manual.pdf and using LGMDP (page 138). there is a log file generated as usual but will be created on your KP500-util folder. (log attached)

The worst mobile phone purchse in the last 15 years (10 phones total). Some of things I don't like: - S-class interface is at the most half-baked: - Music player does not recognise musician or album name (although it is recognized when going through Windows Media Player - Wifi only working for web-surfing (e-mail using wifi not supported) - Inbox messages displaying oldest mail first, but after opening a message and then returning to the inbox, then you have the newest message first; consitency? - Horizontal view only allowed for SMS writing. What's the point? - Editing contact not available through the S-Class interface. Have to go to native WM6.1 through "programs" -　Phone seems to be acting on its own when it is locked ( I lock it before I put it in the bag, I take it out - still locked - and unlock it to find out that it has started several applications on its own (happens when leaving the phone locked on the desk) - Support: I have written once when I was confirmed that wifi does not work with e-mail, but following support e-mails were never answered. - Thought there might be software fixes to be downloaded, but LG does not provide any such service... I will stick with HTC which my wife owns, which does not have any of the above problems.

yep. after a month, it looks like a one-year-old phone already. lol. i agree also too that the menu (win mo skinned with s-class UI) is INCONSISTENT. the most inconsistent and unexpected UI for winmo phones. sheesh. even the 3 year old Samsung Omnia beats this in any criteria anytime.

Just got the phone, emailed LG service centre in Singapore regarding winmo 6.5, they replied "we will notify you again when the update is up" In my opinion, the downside of the phone is its laggy. However, its still a great phone afterall

Hi! Just got one today though it came from Singapore as it's still not available in the Philippines. Anyway, i both have Eigen and Samsung Jet. i just noticed that the housing (black lining) of Eigen gets scratches easily. winmo is already given and the lower cpu of Eigen that's why i still can't sell my Jet. planning to sell THIS instead of Jet no too soon. Camera performance is slightly better than Jet. Playing music through speaker is AWESOME compared to Jet BUT rubbish music playback through wired headset. you'll easily notice the OVER TREBLING and VERY VERY LOW BASS. i think it's because they used micro usb instead of having the standard 3.5mm which affects the quality. and what sucks even more is that there's no equalizer.. oh well, lesson learned. i will never buy an LG again.

LG GM 730 phone is laggy.It is also not very responsive. The music player is also erratic to control.This is the reason it is being sold "cheaply" although its specification is very good.

Yes,AGPS needs a data plan but instead of getting the garmin phone you can alternatly buy a Bluetooth GPS reciever that works with most navigation software. This will allow thge device to more accuratly work as a GPS device.

"65K colors" why its screen is too low color resolution. I think it isn't competible with camera function that 5 MP, 2592х1944 pixels, Schneider-Kreuznach optics, autofocus. The others brand go beyond this to 16 million color screen,isn't it? Eventhrough let's make it a lower price market.

I'm very excited about this phone. S-Class interface with Windows Mobile sounds great. I just hope this phone to have at least 256MB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage, but 128MB of RAM and low internal storage upgradable buy microSD seems more probable (release the full specs already LG!).

Telstra Mobile (Australia) have already confirmed this handset, well the GM730F (3G 850/2100). Should be interesting as its a proper Windows Mobile device with classt S-Class User Interface for the mobile side. The even more interesting thing is, this handset will be sold along side the (heap of crap) iphony 3gs. People buying the iphony might want to have another look at the GM730F. I think this is how the Arena should have looked like(not like the Arena is ugly,in fact it is beautiful but this is a little nicer). spec reports are a bit inconsistent. Some said WM 6.5 and 32 GB on card. Low screen resolution. 200 x 400 is rather disappointing. Processor memory needs to be upped anyway. Hope they have it improved before US release to Verizon
