i have this mobile love it got it on my 10th birthday it is amaziing love it but after my 10th birthday one year later it started to come out as a unusefull mobile volume high buttons stuck sliding get stuck it cant even read my sim some times it says no sim inserted sometimes service detached ans after a hour of my anger it dasplays the sim finallly so my advice if u wanna buy this mobile than u going too love it at the starting but later on u r gonna want too break this mobile

I bought this phone for my wife as present from Beijing, China for about 2500 rmb. My first experience was amazing, it has very slim design, nice look, trustworthy brand, that has fooled me. During 6 months my wife complained about sudden battery discharge, restart without any reason. And after 6 months since I bought this phone, it suddenly stopped working. I sent it to Beijing, China, to service center, changed a microchip inside the phone, which cost me about 600 rmb. After repair, sudden battery discharge, restart still remained. And now its 2, 5, 8, 0 keys stopped working. My recommendation: Do not buy this phone, unless you want to waste your money, time and nerve.

Had it for about a year. was my first phone and i loved it. Slim and small so it can easily fit into your pockets. Had super bright lights when it was camera with flash. But then things came up it started to restart on me when i use it. Also battery was kinda short, so you would have to turn off all the fancy things off, which mad me sad cause i like looking at it cause it was cool. then the back covering button broke on me so i had to use it without the covering. Overall this phone is good for just everyday calling and texting nothing intense. I would like to get another one but i have to catch up to the current phones.

Had this phone for a year and a few months, was enjoying using it, still, which surprised me as I thought I would have been over it by now, anyway, I hadn't had any problems with it apart from the occasional turn off until new years when I tries turning it on and all I saw was the kf510 picture and then nothing. A few ful chargers later the same was happening so I'm pondering weather to fix it or not. Has anyone else had the same problem?

This is absolutely terrible phone with number of serious software flaws and horrible support. From the hardware standpoint, phone is ok, but software is very buggy from mp3 player problems to unexplainable freezing, sim card detection problems, unexplainable shutdowns and it's veeeery slow to browse images and files, camera is totally subpar and so on... Worst phone I ever owned and total disappointment. Feels like early alpha product, not even close to stable finished phone...

I had these phone for the past 2years, but frankly am dissappointed in physical features: 1) the use of one port to charge,usB & earphone,multi tasking is immpossible 2)the button for switching on and off broke, 3)the so called scratch proof screen broke, internal I believe it got all you needs covered, an efficient modem, quality picture taking,mp3 player is a plus,for the radio its a -ve coz it cant minimize and also you cant control it with the earphone.

i have had this phone for about a year now. in the 1st 6 months i had to take it in about 7 times. the keypad broke numerous times, when i would be on a call the phone would just cut out and reboot, also when i make or recieve calls i cant hear the other person or they cant hear me and there is just silence, and when playing music if the phone lost reception the music would cut out and the phone would go back to the home screen (bit weird i thought). finally after taking the phone in so many times they relaced it, it's been working fine for the last 5 months but now the same problems returned. the phone is decent in terms of usability and functions but just too many problems for my liking.

Hi, DD! :) Well, I've got my phone from Brazil and the set languages are: english, espanol,portugues, also it has an automatic option as well, which I think sets the certain language in the certain country, I'm not quite sure about. There's another very interesting thing about the phone. It's only 2G, however, when I slit my friend's SIM card in it, who has paid internet service, surprisingly, we went online quicker, viewing videos much faster than with his 3G device!!! Guys, buy this phone, it's simply awesome!!! :)

The camera isn't bad at all, nor the video, flash light could be better. I don't compare it with any other model or mobil phone, because this phone isn't about features to me, but style and fashion. It's an eye-catching, very sexy device. On the upper right corner of the display you find a light sensor, witch automatically controls the strength of brightness of the screen. I don't use internet on it, so I cannot tell much about browsing. The battery could be better!!! In case of average use the battery lasts a day or two only. The built-in antenna is truly great, very sensitive, picks up the signal in no time and still provides you clear talking by one bar of reception without dropping even one call so far!!! I would say, it's great and nice phone, buy it and you won't regret it either. :)

Hi.....im currently using this set...but facing a pbl these days.....my phone got wet somhow....but i took out the battery and let it dry....its working fine now....but when i tried to connect it to my system using data cable, my PC didnt detect any drives of my memory card or phone......its charging after the plug in of data cable though....ive tried turning it on and off.....but no use.....can some one please help me out..?....many thanks!

it, very irritabble that your service centers (asc) can't repair this model. i have face a lots of from this model, every time whenever i dropped my phone for service they are failed to repaired it. every time they created a new problem in my phone and returning it back to me, so i m requesting here to company that please provide a proper training to your asc

I've had the LG kf510 for nearly 2 years.. I can say that the design of the fone is nice. I think it is very stylish and I've really liked it. However for a while now i've had many different problems with it and I'm sure others have had the same.. It frequently switches off. My fone may be ringing and il go to slide it up to answer it and it will turn off straight away. The battery life is also not very good. I've found myself consistently charging it and the battery dosent last long at all. Another problem is the touch screen, sometimes it randomly freezes and il try turning the fone off but it won't, so I'll have to take the battery out and put it back in again. I may also be in the middle of a conversation and it will hang up, and says sim card is not inserted. I didn't have these problems for a while, the fone worked fine. But I dunno how reliable it is for me anymore and I'm looking for a new one. The design of the fone is the highlight though. Other than that, for me it has let me down.

i really like this phone, been having it for a year!...i have droped it a few times and it still work! i have even droped it from the very top of the bleachers at school!...accidental ofcourse! the picture quality is not that good! But since i dont like taking pictures it's all good! my phone has not really turned of all of a sudden like another person had said, although my sister has almost a similar model, the LG KF750, and her's has turned of all of a sudden!...but other than that it's a pretty good phone, i love it! picture quality in the LG KF750 is digital camera like! also a pretty good phone!

you can answer the phone just by opening the slide and end the call clossing the slide.. it`s an option in the menu .. great phone.. got it for at least an year.. but it still has problems with the micro sd card.. sometimes it doesn`t recognize it.. and somethimes when i`m taking a photo it`s blocking.. and i need to restart it. do you have the same problems too?

Anyone had the same problem, answering an incoming call after a few seconds the phone cuts off and comes up with SIM card error, it will not switch off so I remove the battery and re-insert and works Ok until the next time in-coming call or sometimes happens making an outgoing call.

Its a fabulous phone...!! I've been using it for almost a year and a half now n havent faced any problems...... It is durable due to its tampered glass... The music quality is just amazing.... Has a torch,feather touch sensitive buttons..... A complete value for money..... It is really fun to use. Little problem in getting familiar with real touch pad. But it will be over with little practice. Sound, VGA quality is the best. I personally recommend to buy and have fun with it.

My phone cant receive items through bluetooth from other devices. The screen just shows, "recieve image from nokia 6300..." then there's the 'YES' and 'NO' option. Bt wen u touch the options, the phone hangs and u have to remove the battery and switch it on again. Surprisin thing is, i can send people stuff through bluetooth. Then is there a way 2 save received items directly to the external memory?? GUYS, PLEASE HELP!!

I have had it for 6 months now. It is a pretty good phone. It is stylish, good camera, music player is easy to use. Touch pad is awesome but sometimes a bit hard to use, but once you get use to it, it is fine. The problem with reading opinions every person has different ones. for me it is a great phone. some other people might not think the same. I am lucky that so far there is no problems. But don't not buy a phone because someone says something bad. GREAT PHONE!

I've had my KF510 for just over a year now, and it has recently started giving problems. The software freezes, the phone just switches itself on and off by itself, other people will call and the phone will be ringing on their end, but the phone stays in standby, ie, the call cannot be taken. It has also recently taken on the very very bad habbit of shocking me when it's on charge and you touch the metal band around it.... I do think that I just need to get my software upgraded and all will be fine again. It really is a lovely phone to use and it does add a bit of style and fun to your day.

Can someone tell me how to hang up the phone when I make calls myself or receive calls. The only way I managed so far is from the sliding on/off button at the side and then clicking yes to diconnect call. Isnt there another way apart from sliding the whole phone down? I neeed a quicker way to hang up like the red pohone icon on other mobiles. Its still new to me I m used to having Samsungs which is quite different Hope someone can help me out please.

I advice no one to buy this phone. It has runined LG's image, nd i no longer intend to buy any of LG's products in the future. It shuts off on its own, the buttons dont work, sent it to be fixed many times nd still doesnt work. its not worth its price, plus no one will buy it from u in case u wana turn it back. simply the WORST.

This is an incredible bad phone, I had sent it to service at least 3 times in a 11mo span. First it kept shutting itself down, restarting itself several times, disconnect from network/sim in the middle of a phonecall, side buttons don't work properly, trouble recognizing SD, incredibly short battery life and finally the numpad and other buttons just magically stopped working. It is a pretty phone, but not functional at all. I don't recomend it to anyone.

The camera is good... for 3MP its really clear, sometimes i don't want the result of the image because even the pores and pimples in my face are captured hehe..but serioulsy its 3Pm camera is great! The voice is good also, i dont have any problem in phone calls, the exchange of voice from two different lines is clear =) The battery is ok as long as you charged is right, and talk time upto 4 hrs =)

Yes u can zoom the picture while taking it. Use the volume keys on left side of the phone to zoomin and out when takin the picture....

sigh. I got this nearly a year ago and just lately its started stuffing up really badly. i only get a days worth of battery (sometimes less), there is almost zero room for pictures and music, i can't hook the bluetooth up to my computer, it turns itself off about 3 times a day (generally right in the middle of me sending a msg), it freezes randomly, it was supposed to be unlocked but came with a Virgin network...but i still love it. Im really considering getting it sent off to be fixed instead of buying a new phone, coz its still cute and the memory situation can be fixed...back when it was working perfectly it was amazing :D

HI My son bought the KF510 from Wales last Summer (2008). After about 3 weeks of usage and handled with care, itstopped to function. I came to know that the weakest part , since it is a sliding phone, is the ribbon. Since I live in a mediterranean island, it took me months running from one dealer to another to fix it since my son could not produce evidence to claim under guarantee. Finally am getting the parts from Uk for under 20 Euros.

Hi all. I had an LG phone which I bought in 2007 (LG KG800 Chocolate) as a replacement for my really old SE K608i. I loved the phone and it was brilliant all until about 9 mths. later when it fell out of my pocket and stayed outside "camping" for the night (unknown to me obviously). At first the touch-pad became unresponsive, but everything was hunky-dory again after a little bit of use. Just as I thought everything was back to normal, the video camera went on my vacation. I didn't use it though, so it was no major problem. Then the photo camera went aswell - a bit of a bigger problem. It wasn't long before the whole screen went, and the phone was unusable. I know this was mainly to blame of the little episode outside, but I had heard that the LG brand in general had a reputation for their products - including phones - for just mysteriously breaking. But I'm not sure whether to get this KF510 Shine or not. I need reliability most of all - does it fit the bill?

hi i purchased this jan and am quite satisfied with it... however have a few questions if any one can help me on it..... 1) after mkeing the playlists if the memory card is removed from the phone for adding files or somethign the entire playlist file becomes empty... 2) also when i set a ringtone it at times plays the selected the ringtone but most of the times on its own plays one of the default ringtones given in the phone.... 3) when i try sending a same sms to a multiple recipiants it sends the same message a number of times to only one of the recipiants. please help me solving this problem... one can reach me at [email protected] thanks

There ull find two new Removable disks........1 would be containing the date of ur Phone memory and the other ur Memory card. copy ur phone data to memory card data and delete it from ur phone data.....i hope this will help u

actually KP510 / KP500 (COOKIE) / KM710 are all the same prized , and almost same options in all three models , KF510 is a very fashionable phone its design is very much of high quality so buy it if u wanna get a fashion wise phone . or the KP500 is a full touch phone which is very durable buy it if u wanna go for a full touch phone . from all three my choice is the COOKIE cuz i like touch screens and it got better quality camera than other models . but i cant take out my mind from the KP510 cuz its shining like a rock star . lol . I have this fone for almost 1 year. I just have to say that i've had a lot of bugs with it. The phone managed to corrupt all files and folders on my microSD. I've found the sensitive pad very unresponsive.The music player is buggy. The phone turns off just by itself. I don't recomend at all.

Ive been using this for the past 6 months and it still works like new. The so-called unscratchable glass screen does scratch, but not as much as with normal plastic screens. I never had a casing for it, and usually it would be in my pocket with my MP3 player or in my bag with pencils and keys rubbing and hitting against it, still looks like a charm, with minor scratches. The touch key is still getting use to, i end up over-jumping applications and selecting randomly which is frustrating but the light-up makes you smile :P Battery life is good, not great, not bad, but decent. Problem: Volume of music through earphones is quiet, bassy but quiet even at the top volume stage. Any help or solution with this??

Very nice phone. The touch-pad is something to get used to, but once you get the hang of it, you won't want a phone without one. Camera takes very nice photos. The design is excellent. My My My.... Finnally i have this beautiful handphone. Now it's been 2 weeks, and i want to share my experiences with this handphone: 1. Building error issue -> i figured that after you change(s) some details on your mp3 files this problem would appear. And the best solution is unplug your memory card and plug it again after you restart the handphone. 2. Poor battery life -> yes this the main problem, i used my handphone with camera and viedo player and happenly consume my full charge battery only for hours. I try to reset my setting as someone suggestion but i don't see the different. 3. Profile general->silent->general again. Somehow i lost all my configure at general profile, now it's been set as silent profile. Dunno anything about this one. 4. Battery cover seem got loose, and i saw the demo kf510 at the lg showroom it's have the same problem and even worse the slide mechanism got cranky. Hopefully mine's not. 5. Photo quality got blur somehow, i tried to changes different resolution and the settings but still facing the same problem. Enough for the contras, now the pros: 1. Very cheap compares to the feature. 2. Veryyy...veryy.......... beautiful handphone, everyone at my office got amazed and 2-3 my friends want to buy this phone too. 3. Touch panel is the main attractive point. and after spending 3-4 hours practicing i got used to it. But same as the previous post, accidentally calling may ha[[en if u don't careful enough. 4. Music quality is very good, music player setting still confused me somehow (my playlist keep losing). 5. Supported applications are numerous and it gave me a lot of fun. 6. Very beautiful looking at the darkness, and it shaped nicely at my grip. 7. LG rocckkkkssss, now i want to save my money to buy the newest LG phone. hehehe

Hy, i`m pretty excited that i have this phone, so far i did not have any probs. with my firmware, speaker is ok, i have signal 95/97 % of the time. The sliding feature is much more reliable than most other phones. As an overall, i "love" :) this ph. and i hope i won`t scrath it`s case this time soon :)

the design of the lg kf510 is perfect and its somehow special,but when talking about its operation i can say that its not that much great,if u close the slide before disconnecting the call,the mobile will say please insert sim card and many times this happens.the message tone is just 10 seconds and every message tone u assign even if it was 3 mins long it will b cut automatically to 10 sec.also every time u want to lock the phone u must do it manually coz it does not have auto lock that u specify with a certain period.

hi every1, i recently got this phone and its really great - it looks great and has lots of cool features but after i had it for about 2 months is wouldnt let me text and it often says that the sim card isnt working. just warning u that i dont think this phone is very good over all because, after all, the main reason for a phone is calling and texting which it isnt very good at so i definaterly regret buying it.

It's a very good phone, fashion wise. If you don't care about functions then go ahead and buy it but otherwise I think it sucks. I have one. The volume is bad so I always have to turn the speaker phone on when I want to talk. Texting is pretty bad too; the key is good for texting and thats it. There's not that many function on it either. Hope that helped.

Does anyone know if upon receiving a message, you can see who the message is from before reading it. It just comes up '1 new message' then you have to view it and the senders name is right at the end of the message. So you end up reading a message before knowing who sent it. The other alternative is to cancel rather than view the message and manually go into the inbox to see who it's from... but thats really annoying.

it is not possible to dial a number when the slider is down. by pressing the camera key you can only veiw the information. the slider should be up for the phone to be active in this feature.

please let me know if, there is any possibility for answering the received calls or dial the available calls without opening / up the slide? I tried to set it from setting /Calls/Answer mode could not set this option and still it is required to up the slide for answering and calling. The service center in Iran says this feature is not avilable but it is not acceptable as the reply toch sign is available on it and user guid manual says it is possible.

i am using 510 for the past 3 months. it has given me no trouble at all. i am neither interested in camera nor in music. i have separate equipments for the same. my paramount concern is speech clarity and signal strength. the speech quality of the 510 is outstanding. it is not the volume that counts but the legibility of the speech of the caller. 510 outshines some of the hyped models like nokia express 5320. i had that phone for a few days. it has lot of volume in the earpiece but the speech gets muffled. hats off to 510 in this regard -ish

lg kf510 sucks! for real! i admit it that it was gud wen it was new because i dont know how to use it and it was really fun but after a few mnths it started showing defects like ther was this time i was txt sum1 then the messaging app closed then i had to type the words again, the next one is when i was trying to take a video. it went well but when i tried to watch it after a few minutes it started to hang then the sonds went off and i didnt get to watch the video properly. next is that the paint of the phone started to peel. for my advise if u are goin to buy a lg kf510 ask people who had them for a long time.

I love the design the phone has, but the touch panel is really annoying and it's hard getting used to it. I've had LG Shine before and I was more satisfied with that one. The back of the phone is very easy to scratch and it's made of some kind of plastic I think. You can't talk on the phone unless the slide is opened because the microphone is under the slider. In the sun light it's really difficult to use the phone because you can't see a thing on the screen. Camera seems ok.

THIS IS A Gr8 Phone! everything is great except my off-button is loose- i thought it might fall out of the phone or break (off button is a little slidey thing on the side of the phone) :-S but it still works fine, i'm just being careful about it. Touch pad is fun and impressive to everyone. All my friends think my phone was expensive but it was only $179 AU. It's awesome! Everything else good EXCEPT when i take video i have problems with sound, doesnt always record sound and when it does, it doesnt match up with the video image... if you get me, voice is delayed, why the hell!?? The camera is excellent tho, ****ive used photos taken from the phone for my computer wallpaper and it looks perfect like it was at least a 5 mega pix shot from a digital camera****

I haven't used the Shine so I can't say on the comparison. But the KF510 arrows are quite smart because they change shape as you use the functions. For example when you send a message, the arrow changes into a 'tick' shape once the message is sent through. I thought this is really cool!

Have only had the phone for a few days but can comment on a few aspects upon initial use. Pros 1. The build quality/slider mechanism is very sturdy compared to any Samsung slider phones I've come across (and there have been quite a few) 2. The menu system is very intuitive and easy to use 3. The processor is superfast and does everything within the second/split-second 4. It simply feels good to hold in your hand and use! Cons 1. The PC software (LG Mobile Sync) is confusing to use compared to other phones like LG Viewty or the Samsung PC Studio software 2. Fingerprint magnet (although same issue with most slim-slider mobiles) 3. Controls very sensitive, takes a little getting used to Overall I'd rate the phone 9/10 as it is one of the best phones I've had the pleasure of using!! Very happy about the purchase. Highly recommended.

i have to use a speaker every time i talk if not, i wont be able to hear anything the other person is saying. keypad for texting is good but when i want to delete a sentence i have to go letter by letter or just delete the wholeee thing by holding down the cancel button. its a good phone as of style but functions and such is HORRIBLE!

Hai, It do have the feature. If you add contact on mobile (Internal or external memory ) then you have the feature. If the contact exists on the SIM then you dont have the feature as the SIM does not have sufficient memory.

The KF510 is typical of LG .. Crap. My son loved the look of it and he wants a phone to play his music while he's out and about. After a lot of hard saving and work he bought one. After owning it for 3 1/2 months it has been in 5 times for repairs and 1 new replacement phone. The poor kid has only had use of the phone for almost 2 weeks out of this time ... first problem was the day after he bought it .... it wouldn't play the music like it did the first night. The sales man said the memory card was no good but we have tried 3 card and they all work on the other phones that we have. He then said the music was put on the memory card wrong, funny about that cause we did it the way the book said. Couldn't get back to the shop for a few days as it was still not playing the music and we wanted a refund but was told "no" its 8 days and you only have 7 days for a refund or exchange. That was the beginning of the hassles, wouldn't play music and buttons not working and a dead battery (according to them). LG have finally sent him a new replacement phone after a lot of complaining and that had several different problems so it got sent back the next day and they had the cheek to tell me it was tested b4 the sent it to us ...lol. Been another week so far and haven't heard anything from them yet .... I think Lg use us aussies for testing their products. This is the last Lg product I will ever buy ..... almost every thing Lg make is crap.

hey its not a camera coz this phone is not 3g,its a light sensor which modifies the screen lightening according to the lightening conditions so that the battery could last for a long time.

@ AAron you can move file from internal memory to card, only problem is that received file size is restricted by internal memory to 15mb. Dont know about folder lock but i managed to install a couple of java games, also it has a data wallet application for storing sensitive information

I have the LG K510 I really like it, looks very nice! you can download music and set them as your ringtone or msg tone, the only thing I have found is sometimes I push menu to get a phone number I press the msg menu so that's a pain but it's new so it takes a bit of time to get use too, but all in all it's a very good phone the music sounds awesome!!! and the battery lasts for days! you can make the wrtitng or numbers Very big so you can see them better, so I say BUY IT! you will ♥ it

when you close the phone it automatically locks, and when you are on the phone it locks so that you dont press all the touchpad buttons with your face. to unlock it there is a button on the side which you have to press twice....so yeah, it does stay locked!!

i have this phone and yes you can put your omw donloaded files as message and/or call tones. the videoing is pretty good, its 3.0mp camera which is not bad!!! and it surprisingly does not get scratched up, i've had mine since july and its fine, however it does get messed up with fingerprints easily. hope this helps!!!

Yea u can change the fonts from small - medium - large. About the saving folder thing, i have no clue. But i guess it does in the Messages setting. Battery life is great, took it out to the S.Germany without charger. Been using it for MP3 on the road full volume(3hrs) calls (1hr) camera (on HQ, with flash and video 15 shots and 5mins video) and not a flicker of a battery bar! Was still 3 bars full at midnight. But charged it when i got back 2 days later.

I don't know why everyone says the battery is lacking when my phone lasts up to between 3-4 days without a charge. And that's with moderate use, constant texting and receiving at least one phone call a day. My battery life is perfectly fine. Its been a couple of months since I purchased this phone and its been fantastic!

Yehh dude i'm not sure with this. But i have an older LG now and after a whole night charge its dead by the end of the day. Also as soon as i call someone it drains the battery in a matter of seconds. I'm through with LG's and i would recomend a Nokia 6500 Slide, more features, for the practically the same price. :)

this phone is really great i am using this phone for past 4 month and i didnt find any drawback.But i found that video player is not good i have found solution for that while convrting the video you have to do certain corrections such as video size should be 176*144 and frame rate should be 25fps then the video plays really good. just try it and 5 days back only i buyed 4gb card it works.

The design is really a head turner, and with the touch pad just shock people around me, thinking its just a normal slider but its not just that. The sound is abit down and quiet, the only drawback. For those complaining about scratches its simple just take better care of it or keep it inside a cover or phone sock. LG KF510 - BUGS - Thechnical Problems - RSAP- VW PREM Kit Today by JCPort I found a problem in this mobil phone ( LG KF510) related with the use of the Remote SIM Acess Profile ( RSAP) with my VW PREM Kit . The Phone and the Car Bluetooth sistem works fine but when I get out of my car or I disconect the link the Phone does not return to the service provider and it gives a message � rejected by the net� until you made a reset of the Phone. If this problem persists I will have to change again to my old 3630 Nokia. I do NOT RECOMEND this Mobil Phone for all VOLKSWAGEN with the VW PREM kit.

This is a great slim phone, nice looking, sleek. You can minimise the mp3 player so that you can use other features at the same time, easy to use, I didnt even have to read the manual. Only let down would be having the on/off button on the side but thats trival. Recommend it for the price and features, oh another let down is people find the lights interesting and therefore want to touch it all the time.

Have had the LG KF510 for about two-three weeks. Just wanted to drop by and say that this is a fantastic phone. Very slim and lightweight. The keys are great for texting although as various people have said the bottom is a tad heavier so texting may be a bit difficult one handed, but eventually you get used to it. The trackpad is a joy to use, it does however take some patience, even after a couple of weeks use I find that I still tend to select wrong selections. Besides that, this phone is great and I would definitely recommend it to everyone. =)

I loved the phone when I first got it, which was in April. I've had it for 7 months now on a 24 month plan. The touch pad is detaching itself from the phone. I'm scared that it will come off soon. Also, the phone key pad is starting to lag. When I type numbers in, it doesn't show up. I don't really trust LG as I had a chocolate phone and it screwed up after 2 months. I only got the phone because it was on such a cheap plan. I'm pretty sure that this phone won't be alive by the time my plan ends.

Usually the file type will be .gif , and have u got a memory card in it? internal memory is only 15mb or wotver so u may already have to much on it, micro sd cards are cheap as anyway

Got this phone yesterday. It just feels great to hold this phone. Although the touch pad is a little annoying at first but it takes hardly 2-3 hrs to master it. Till now one problem I faced is that I'm unable to load themes on it. Rest is just awesome........

Well I have this phone for only 2 days and the paint has rubbed off the battery cover already from just being in my pocket. Also the chrome on the sides has scratches on it already, and the screen has micro scratches on it. Also the screen has some stuck pixels. Not impressed you cant put any flash wallpapers on the phone even though it has some pre installed.

I have got it, and for sms, it is a normal phone... I mean, touch are enougth big to write sms easily. The only problem is that when you are erasing character, or function done with capacitive keys... I sometimes erase all the message ! :-( But the capacitive keys are not bad too, if you take care !

The phone's just ok for texting. I used to have the Sony Ericsson Z610i and i got so used to its comfort for texting. T9 is available but you can't add your own words to the dictionary, and i have to take some points off for that. you can't type "smt" "cuz" it's not in the dictionary. Other than that, it's pretty good for texting proper english

Hi, I've heard that despite the phone guide boasting that its screen is tempered glass and scratch resistant however I have heard that it does in fact scratch easily, such as in a pocket with change or keys. @Saba: I compared the sound quality on my KF510 with a Sony Ericcson W950i. While KF510 is pretty good audio over headphones but the SE W950i was much better. Now I don't have a W300i with me but I read another review which found the KF510 sound as good as an SE K800i.

u can get over than 15MB file from your laptop to the external memory of KF510. 1.making a bluetooth syncronization between your laptop & KF510. and pls check common folder in your laptop for file sharing. 2.pls move large files(over than 15MB) to common folder in your laptop. 3.using your KF510, select connectivity(main menu 0) and select the bluetooth(menu 1), and select the device list(menu 2). 4.if u can see your laptop at menu, pls select it, then KF510 will try to making a connection. 5.after making a connection, u can see all files of your laptop at your KF510. 6.if u want to get some file from your laptop to KF510, then sslect the file at your KF510. then pop-up window will be opened as like "internal or external meonry?" if u select the external, then the KF510 can get the large file from your laptop. this procedure is little difficult, i want this information will be helpful for u.

I have tested this handset. Touch screen menu is really cool but little difficult in understanding. One can get it practiced after some time of use. Most appealing part of this phone is its sleek design, touch screen menu and good 3 MP cameras with lot of shooting option. Best part of the camera is image stabilization and auto and manual focus though focal range is not very high (I believe F/2.2-3.3). However camera presents excellent results within its limitations. Jpeg compression algorithm used in this phone is very good. File size of captured images varies from a few Kilobytes to Megabytes depending upon the image details for same Mega Pixel count. I have not seen such an algorithm before in a mobile camera. More over image quality of low light condition is surprise. It is way better then many other popular brands. Music Player disappointed me. It is only average good. It has a MP3 player which also supports MPEG-4 but limited. It can not read TAG information and album art from M4A files but it plays it decently. Bluetooth is very powerful and gives usually better range as compared to many popular brands when tested using A2DP music playback. Another disappointing thing is no 3.5 mm audio jack but I think it�s really not needed keeping the average sound quality of audio hardware. Yes it is a bit touch louder of course.

Yes you can change message alert to any tone of choice. I have had one of these phones before but returned it due to freezing. Cant remember if you can use any headphones. Also music player has good clear sound with ample bass but not very heavy bass. I hate too much bass in music it distorts the clarity.

Picture quality is not even close to the viewty's. But i'll stil chose the kf510 instead od viewty couse i dont like touchscreen phones. You always have to use both your hands to operate them and that's frustrating(for me) :)

And the most important thing is , Kf510 is far more cheaper than Viewty . Besides the camera , consider also the display and appearance , which of them worth its price ? I'm not asking which phone is better , but want to know whether their functions match their prices .

Yes , I know Viewty's functions are much better but it is not a cheap phone to buy . However , features of KF510 is not too bad either . I heard positive comments on its fast 3MP camera . Except the Xenon flash , many say that the photo taken by KF510 is very similar to Viewty .

Everybody who uses this phone: I have three concerns and would all owners of KF 510 please address them. Please! 1. Are you able to set your own, mp3, midi, .wav files as TEXT message alerts? Or are you limited to LG pre-sets. 2. Can you attach regular, different headphones using the supplied head-set adapter? I've heard that the hands--free adapter that inserts into the phone CAN take other headphones. 3. Is audio playback through HEADPHONES good? How does it compare to Nokia/Sony Ericsson/IPOD etc. I want to use this as an MP3 player and listen to lots of metal. Does it have good bass and stuff?

for faster shutter, turn off the auto focus setting... by minimizing the setting... u might make it faster too... but im not really sure of it

i love it! i got it yesterday and ive got to say its awesome. touchpad is very responsive, the design sleek and you can feel the quality of its metal body. Its most unique feature is probably its applications (world clock, currency, weight, length converter, doc viewer etc) which you do not find in other phones!

I'm going to ask a friend to pick this up for me in Taiwan. I'm in Canada which requires GSM 1900 and recommends GSM 850 and GSM 1900. Since this phone has GSM 1900 it should work fine right? Would not having the GSM 850 band as well affect my signal strength or anything else in any way? Is there anyone currently using this phone in Canada?

I would really like to own this phone. Although Im a tad concerned about the cons people have been listing. Some people are saying that it has bad battery life and some people are having trouble with the media player. I am currently saving up for this phone but I am now doubting its efficiency. I really want to get this phone, but because it costs so much I am tossing on whether I should buy this expensive phone or another cheaper phone that I would not kill myself if I lost/broke it. Had this ph 4 almost 2 weeks. Absolutely brilliant !!! Battery life is 4-5 days. The menus are extremely simple 2 use. Menus and boot time are very fast (I'm used 2 the slow Nokia N70). I didn't have a choice in colour of ph as my SP only imports non-colour ph's, but I'm extremely happy with the grey colour. I'd be curious if any1 in South Africa has this phone in red, although I doubt it. Ear-phones are also good as I sometimes listen to KFM on it. Also love the Soduku game... I'm hooked. Go buy this phone, it rocks :-)

i have this phone now for a few weeks. and so far. its been pretty good.. a couple down side to it. i found that the memory is really small. as i was reading the previous commenter saying it has big memory. i couldn't even fit 2 normal size mp3 file songs, there fore i had to go purchase a 2gb chip as external memory. so unless ur doing somthing different, i want to know how come ur memory is big? along with the camera option. when i click to take the picture of lets say living ppl. you'd assume that once the click sounds the picture is taken, but i notice it laggs before it actually saves the picture so i havn't really been using the camera much due that fact. any suggestions? as to settings? cause its really hard taking pictures of my nieces and nephews without having them sit there for a whole 2 mins.

yes. it has all the features u are looking for. the only drwback is the battery . u hav to charge it more often. depends on usage. but still with this drwback i wl recommend this fone to u. real stylish and good features.

it does have a speaker phone. when u are talking u will see a speker icon on screen. clik the buton below it. u can increase/decrease volume while on speakerphone. usually u hav to increase volume

I am completely in love with this phone. Touch pad is heat sensitive so is very easy to use. Is really sleek and slim, however is prone to fingerprint marks! Has great speakers and volume, and in my opinion the camera is actually pretty good. I would reccommend getting a memory card for it if you are planning to hold many songs and photos on it. To who ever said they cant get a signal on this phone is a joke. When i had this phone i did not keep it for various reasons but as far as i was concerned this phone has the most solid signal strength of any phone i ever had. It hardly ever fluctuates even when i tried a T Mobile sim and thats saying something. Call quality also so clear.

I don't think it is possible to turn off the lights that are activated by the touch pad - they don't bother me although I did turn off the tones and vibration with the touch pad partly because they annoyed me and also to save batery.

Excellent phone - my first LG and very impressed with it. Pros Very good call quality. Excellent display - bright and clear. Camera excellent even in low light. MP3 player very good. You can use your own earphones with the handsfree as there is a standard connector. Good battery life. Very solid build quality and nice feel in the hand. Nice positive keypad with decent size keys. There are some handy conversion utilities and the calculator function is particularly good. Touchpad very easy to use after a bit of practice. Cons Fingerprint magnet Not really suitable for one handed texting as the phone is a bit top heavy with the slide open You need to buy a micro SD card to store music and photos - but these are very cheap I'm very happy with this phone and highly recommend it.

The answer to all of your questions is: yes! But the KF510 does have problems with the media player, but otherwise it's pure pwnage.

nice phone overall. i have to admit it looks better real life than the pics. this phone has the greatest grip hands down compared to so many phones these days looking and feeling like a toy. this is a REAL phone. but lg, please! please do something with your software! what good are all these features if we can't use them??? these manufacturers gotta figure out a way to make better software solutions to support these nice phones!

I bought this phone last week. Thought it was good although the touch sensitive keypad takes a bit of getting used to and texting one-handed is difficult because of the position of the keys. Slightly irritated that the USB cable is not a standard size but their own connector - why do they do this? oh, that'd be to make more money off you when you lose it. But.... the music player didn't work - got something labelled 'building error' after the first attempt. So i sent it back, got a replacement today, and it stripped all the album, artist and genre tags off and has no way of sorting the music. I'm sending it back. Two phones, and the software for the music player doesn't work in either. I would avoid this phone.

I bought an unlocked phone and I couldnt text either that proxy thing came up. I use att and I went to a store and a guy helped me set it up. Works fine now, so that would be my suggestion is take it to a store and they can help.

I recently bought this phone unlocked. I am trying to figure out the MMS settings for the AT&T U.S. network. It asks me for a proxy IP and lists 000.000.000.000 as the default. What do I use for the IP? Strangly it does not ask for username or pw which would be like CINGULAR1 etc.. Anyone know how to configure this? Help is appreciated, thanks.

Seriously cool phone, no argument there. BUT, I have 2 problems with it: 1 - It seems to go slower when touch-vibrate is activated. 2 - After I tried to use my new 4GB MicroSD filled with music (which is supported and working in my phone) my built-in mp3 player broke after I interrupted it while loading!!! Now it says: "Building Error" every time I try to start it. Taking it to the repair store tomorrow for a fix. For the rest this phone is freakin' awesome and I have no regret getting it with my 1 year contract.

Well i bought this phone and i say this. LG have improved. Great build sexy looks fantastic camera amazing signal quality and call quality great screen very easy to use touch keys great stroking your finger fast across it whilst web browsing great radio too. BUT. My phone switched itself off 6 times whilst browsing the net and camera freezes sometimes whilst taking pictures. I returned it.

This phone is released in the U.K. You can purchase it on ebay and some sellers will include a North American charger for free. As to the North American market, I got fed up waiting for its release. Fantastic phone!

don't hold ur breath for the 850 triband for america. the original ke850 prada phone was also supposed to include an 850 band for america. so much for that phone. the new ke990 is also supposed to have an 850 band version for america. we'll see. personally, i've given up on lg and samsung phones for america because they're all triband everywhere else so screw them. i'm actually kind of happy with nokia, though their phones are a little bit bigger. but it includes some great features.

i have recently been given the LG KF510 for a birthday and i have to say i love it, brilliant and everyone else loves it too the touchpad may seem tricky but once you get going theres no stopping you, after a few minutes i was a pro! i love this phone and im sure ill love it for a year or two to come so far its brilliant and i have no worries also it looks and feels better when you have it infront of you, rather than the picture on the internet

Yep, I owned the phone few days ago. Downfall: a)slider not part not fit well (will move a bit, but not to say that it will slide up/down too easily) b)features nt that user-friendsly as compare to Nokia and sony ericsson c)Picture capture take awhile and the design of picture capture button is not handy. Even though user can use the touch pad but it is too sensitive in the sense of u might accidentally take picture. d)phonebook feature is not considerate. One contact can only have limited numbers and 1 email insert, which is not so convenient for me. Quality is good I would said. I think they cut cost for the packaging (eg. box) which is good. Cause we don't really need that. It just take you awhile to familiarize yourself with the touch screen. And it is easy to use. After I used the touch screen, I feel like I don't wana press button anymore as it feel good to use the touch screen. There is no problem for slide jamming nor part falling so far.

I'm in South Africa and my service provider (Altech Autopage) says that this phone still needs to be approved by Vodacom and MTN. They say only approved by Cell C at the moment.

got the grey one. the colour more suitable for male obvious. i bought this phone as a spare phone. the features and especially the desigh is one of a kind superb. im very sure this will soon be a very popular phone. no promblems so far

I work 4 cpw and have 2 say it's 1 of the best phones out at the minute, The LG Choc was terrible but this phone is excellent and I now have faith in LG again camera quality is lovely!! It's generally an all rounder good phone, I think it's a lady's phone thow sorry boy's lol

This phone looks great and I want it, but a prepaid version here in The Netherlands is about �290 while at carphonewarehouse.com it's only 140 pound (�175). Does anyone know if it's possible to buy from them and then ship it internationally?

This phone looks cool, but you guys need to check out the Samsung U900 also if you like the looks of this phone. They look similar, but the U900 I believe packs more impressive features and slightly looks better than the KF510.

i realized that you can get this phone at carphonewarehouse.com but is there any place else that i can get it. i live in the US and i do not want a contract (over the internet) and i do not want to be paying in GBP's. so any help would be greatly appreciated (i will do anything to get my hands on this phone ASAP lol)

good phone yaar..liked it very much.. but how about its battery? i have heard LG's battery is not impressive i.e LG shine... i'll try to get my hands on this one once im confirmed about its battery life inshAllah :) good camera..good music player...excellent, impressive design.. ahhh what more could one ask for? :-)

I bought this model and its a looker,but on you tube at barcelona they show it with the touchpad having a random effect when not touched, mine just shows the five lights in the middle and they only changes when touched.

What I really think that is a unique feature on this phone is the thicker section on the the back of the front panel. This should be used on all slider phones for better support, less wobble, and build quality.
