LG KS10 - User Reviews

  • Very detailed call-log !!

  • Why do you want radio so much? Aren't you smart enough to download some music to your phone? Maybe you are the alien.

  • Your so right, my friend! I don't know why those LG people even bothered to add that media player support for this phone. When i listen music the battery goes dead in less than 2 hours. Ridiculous. I'd better buy myself a dedicated mp3 player, or my battery will be long gone(dead for good) before the end of the year.

  • Why do you say NO mp3? It supports mp3 up to a certain bitrate: a tried mp3 with a bitrate of 64, 128 and 192. All worked fine. It doesn't work with bitrate of 320 kbps or variabile bitrate. It also play mid and amr files by default. Maybe your speaker is dead. Try to install another audio player like OGGPlayer (it plays lots of files, even ogg and flac files).

  • LG Chocolate is not Joy, nor the other way around. Chocolate is more for ladies, Joy is more for gents. Chocolate is more shiny, good looking, fashionable phone. Joy is more hard edged, colder, monolithical. Chocolate is liter, slicker, soft-touched. Joy is like a brick or rock: heavier&rough, thougher, like a bulldozer, almost like a redneck. With Joy you can't compromise-that's just the way it is-and you'll have to take it or leave it, it's all or nothing. There's no mystery in LG Joy:WYSIWYG. LG Joy is a HSDPA phone (3G networks are available and comes with fast internet connection), Chocolate is a 2,5G GSM networks only. Chocolate is the perfect gift for someone you love, and Joy is...well...complicated.

  • Google apps package is garbage on this phone: Google Maps takes like forever to load up, YouTube page loads up but i can't play/watch any video, Google search takes you to the default (crapy) web browser of the phone. The only decent thing is GMAIL - actually pretty smart built-up. If you wanna web surf I recommend Opera mini browser for phones: it's faster, more stable and got that smart option: it an automatically adapt any web page to fit your phone screen. It will load Softpedia page in less than 10 sec, when in mobile mode, and in less than 1 min when in normal mode. (these timings are available for the first access of that page, subsequent accessing of the same web page will be even faster)

  • No GPS on this phone. I know it 'cause i own one for about an year now. It does have another option though: (built-in) Google Maps-it works only with an HSDPA internet connection, that means you need a 3G network. If you plan car driving and using this LG as a GPS, forget it. Google Maps is so slow, even close near-by a 3G antenna, that you'll wish to break up&break out your phone (maybe smash it against a wall).

  • If you really like slim'n slick phones, LG is not for you. This phone is almost the same thickness of a regular package of cigarettes. It's pretty heavy too. I had a Sonny-Ericsson K300-it was twice liter than this one. This LG Joy is heavier than some PDAs i've seen.

  • Probably you won't find this phone in your country 'cause is not worldwide available and marketed. I had mine specially ordered and delivered from Sweden. This phone is marketed only in Scandinavia (Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Iceland, and possibly Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, China). The package was really something: very top-notch box, like business phones. Funny thing, the owner's manual (actually a small book-about 200 pages) is not available in English, French or German (can you believe that!!!), available only in Finnish, danish, Norwegian, chinese languages!?! When i called my local LG supplier, they gave me an owner's manual in my native language (a poor quality photocopy, actually), but it was for another LG phone (LG Chocolate or something). Can you believe that nerve?!

  • Good phone for the right price (about 120euros without any subscription or any kind of mobile comm service contract). An equivalent Nokia or Sony is double the price.

  • The freehand set is great: mic is good, clear sound-so i've been told be people i've talked to; earphones are clear-sounded with volume regulator on the connection wire. Too bad this phone doesn't have a (mini)USB connection, just same old LG connection system.

  • This phone is somewhat bulky, even for 2008. The slide is somewhat loose-not so precise as Samsung or Nokia phones. It has no radio, but i don't mind. If you're buying this phone, you ain't goonna buy it for the radio-i'm sure of that. BE CAREFULL! The baterry is mounted (glued, sticked) to the back face of the phone. If you wanna change the baterry, well, you'll have to look for an original LG one, 'cause it has an unique mounting system on the phone. Too bad this phone doesn't have a wi-fi network connection. The HSDPA is great: I downloaded some 50MB of data in less than 10 min. The SYMBIAN is not so great, is S60, 3rd ed-sometimes it restarts the phone for no apparent reason. When downloading via HSDPA this phone heats up pretty badly (especially the battery). The Symbian really sucks: it doesn't measure the battery charge precisely (when i talk on the phone it looses 2, i mean TWO, lines of baterry charge, and ten minutes later those 2 lines are back again-VERY WEIRD). When there are only 3 lines of baterry charge left you'll have max. 1 hour till the baterry will be dead. My advice: always have a charger or a connection cable with you, 'cause you gonna need it for sure.

  • Yeah, the battery is not so great-especially if you're listening music-but it works. What did you with that battery? A Li-Polymer battery isn't a nuclear reactor, you know!?

  • this phone has serious battery problems.go for a nokia n95 8g that has decent battery life.i own lg ks10 joy for a year now and i bought a second battery cause the first one doesn't work

  • I need an anti virus for this phone with a free update online. This foen ic cool just thiat it doesn\t have a radio and i think there sholid be software for Wi/Fi

  • this is such a sweet phone. In northern ontario there is no SIM cards where i live...its too high tech for my area...which really sucks cuz its a beauty

  • Og goood....no radio, come on.....we'ar in 2008, and not the aliens bringed us the radio

  • it ring low r loud

  • I think this phone is more thinner than Nokia 6288 for example.

  • how thick is this phone? i like em' thin, but lg seems to not be saying much about this phone being slim or anything

  • Yes, you can choose an mp3 file for it!

  • Well, I own this phone for 2 days. I've experienced that the video playing doesn't work on fullscreen. I've solved that problem by downloading a player software, so now it works fine on fullscreen. The other bad point of the phone is the booting. In my opinion it takes too long! So, that's all about the negative things. In conclusion this is good phone! And the screen is very good! Better than my Nokia 6233, and bigger. P.s.: Sorry for my English, it isn't my native language:)

  • I own the LG KS10, the battery life is lousy. Play music or games battery goes flat without warning. Best only used it as a cell phone, battery last longer. I need to charge everyday without fail. Need to get a portable USB battery charger. To charge, need to pry off the small plastic lid. The lid is supported by a thin plastic like wire, during charging the lid look awkward. Cons: Very short battery life. Could be better.

  • I bought this phone and it works fine except that it will not show video in full screen. When you try to go to full screen it goes to landscape mood but the size does not increase. Very disappointed in this.

  • still not seen in Brunei.

  • well i own this phone now. first impressions are not too bad. sadly it doesnt have gps. its just the google maps software where you key in your current location

  • I also want to know if it can have a customized mp3 ringtone for incoming text messages...not just phone calls.

  • Does this phone have a GPS receiver? As LG website says.."With the handsets built-in GPS Navigation Software, Navicore, getting lost on the road has never been more challenging!"

  • It hasthe Symbian 60 interface so any themes for Nokia phones will work on this phone, or themese for any other Symbian phones. Is it just me, or are no Symbian phones sleek or slim? (Except for Nokia 6300)

  • hello guys, is this phone can change melody to txt incoming? like use mp3 or wav tones/ pls emal me at [email protected] thanks..bcoz i like this phone..

  • I was wondering.. nokia (s60) themes are good on this model?

  • I would prefer this design over nokia's design anyday. The interface is exaclty the same as nokia's sybian phones. But the designs of LG are so much more sleek, simple and elegant. quite unlike nokia's over the top designs.

  • This phone is cheap and very good... The camera is the best 2mp cam phone in town.. The screen is big and bright.. User friendly and look nice design.. This is my first LG phone and it has really changed my mindset towards LG brand.. I think LG coming strongly against the competitors and serious about it... Good work done... LG (Life's Good)

  • The best in the market! just that i doesnt have a flash but that doesnt matter. thumbs up 4 the operating system! come on LG keep comin!

  • lilolme,DIS PHONE is 100 times much more better than chocolate.

  • i really like this phone it seems better than the chocolate plus everyone has the chocolate y not start a new trend

  • dis phone has all google equipment in it.it has google map n etc.pls check on ur own if u liked dis phone.u may find a lot of pictures n so on!!!!!

  • dis phone is also known as LG JOY

  • can anyone tell me something... i was impressed with lg chocolate design n i wanted to buy da phone.but its features were bad..n suddenly, this fone came out!!its really great i think n bestly has symbian which is perfect..so do you guys here think i shud get dis phone...one more thing it really looks like chocolate n its keypad is also similar n nice design..so pls say if u agree with me.. one more, how much will it cost in malaysia,if it is available there.

  • The specs seem quite impressive. With 2 M Pixel Auto focus and all. But it looks just like all other slide phones from LG. I just hope this one is quite affordable like all other LG phones. If it is under $300 retail, I'd say it would be the killer smart phone.

  • for those who didn't know yet must read this. the feature is no longer enjoyed by the NOKIA by itself anymore.

  • good if it has more power saving compared to nokia

  • noce lg hs symbian but the kings remains nokia and sony ericsson

  • This phone has symbian 9.2 S60 rel 3.1

  • I love this phone and all the features it comes with but I have been trying to find out if this is Verizon compatible? If so then I will be happy!

  • looks like a copy of the toshiba 911T, which is like a million times better than this phone

  • mp3 ringtone is supported. ^0^

  • yet another S60 phone from a non-nokia brand. seems like S60 is also gaining popularity over the other companies. but hoping that the samsung and Lg phone won't have same problems as with nokia's one. i wish they two could also have UIQ.

  • ytf LG ppl dnt put FM radio in their mobile phones

  • This phone is exactly what i have been looking for, however i have one question - why no mp3 ringtones?? Is this correct? It seems like a pretty standard feature on almost all phones these days.. so why is the KS1- without them? Only fault i can find in this phone. I think its a very well rounded phone otherwise.

  • Nice phone

  • Yep, this is Symbian 9.2 and S60 3.1 UI...GSMArena should correct the specifications.

  • Anyone tried the cam? any good? I'm looking for a slider Smartphone with good cam and keypad....could this be the one?

  • good phone got autofocus

  • omg autofocus!!!!

  • bluetooth should have been the v2.0 . rest seems fair.

  • Does not look too bad. With reasonable pricing it can sell well. It is small and light for a smartphone, even if it does lack some important features.

  • it would have certainly an eye-catcher had it been with WLAN and IR port.

  • The specs are wrong. The OS is Symbian 9.2 and S60 3rd edition Feature Pack 1.

  • This phone is really sharp. I would like to know what day is this going to come out. If I had the money I would buy it

  • yay I'm the first one! Isn't this phone supposed to run on Symbian? I think it was nicknamed LG JOY too. Looks like a descent phone, but it lacks alot of features despite running Symbian.
