Yes you can fix your LG M6100 screen. My wife's phone also went blank. And it was fixed by a third party vendor for RM150.00 ( Malaysia Ringgit ) which is about $45 (USD).

I would never recommend buying this phone. It was relatively expensive. The small screen wasn't a PROBLEM, but it really could be better. After around one year the camera died, and it no longer wanted to save files It has some REALLY stupid features, like going to the top of the inbox when you've deleted one message, so that it takes an ETERNITY to delete the lower half of your inbox. Comparing this to my new Nokia's ability to select messages in a folder so that you can delete them all at once (and the new phone costing a third of what this one did) makes the LG seem pathetic. The battery time is also close to pathetic. After I had had the phone for a little over two years -- effectively voiding the guarantee -- the display started bugging out. After three days of this growing progressively worse, it finally died completely. I had to get a new phone -- and my bottom line is, I wouldn't recommend buying a phone from LG. The only good feature I won't get on another phone is three different alarms that can be set to go off monday-friday, monday-saturday or every day. But this feature certainly doesn't make the overall outlook on the phone any brighter.

I had this phone for almost two year and it is really good to use... except the screen is quite small and sometimes you need to squint to see small details. But then, it almost worth it as it can be used simply like a pendrive(provided you have the cable). Best of it, it is my personal mp3 player ^^ You can download wallpapers and ringtones so no sweat~

I've had this phone for nearly 2 years and it's really annoying!! The keys on the front stop working after a few months and the screen has some little blurry pixles after no use at all. The mp3 player freezes and doesn't change songs very well. After a while when you slide the phone shut it just keeps turning itself off. Not the best phone in the world... GOOD POINTS: It takes clear photos and doesn't scratch too easily.

we have one of these phones each and we think they are crap!!! we have had 2 send them bak about 3 times 2 get it repaired!! because the buttons & screen have stuffed up!! but some good features on this phone are the camera because it takes good pictures that are clear and focused and arent blurry!!! it cant hold a memory card!! but its good to have a small phone and the screen is small but i guess you get used to that!! when i get a new phone i will not go with LG or get this phone again!!! because of this experience!!

ive got this fone 4 christmas in 2006 and now all of a sudden ma photo's keep disappearing and my file storage keeps saying not done or error when i clik on view. also my mp3 player stuffs up... has anyone else had this problem or is it just me????

I've had this phone for about ten months and it has been very good for me. The features make this phone extremely good value for the $149 i paiid. The mp3 player is crystal clear but it only holds about 30 songs and the songs need to load and that takes about a couple of seconds and it gets quite annoying. The 1.3 megapixel camera is also very good value for the money with the pictures being very clear when blown up on a computer but the screen size lets the phone down in a big way. All in all this phone is pretty good but now they dont make this phone anymore and there are much better phones out there even though they do not have the same specifications to match it.

I have been using the phone for two years+ and I love it. Some functions are not as good as other phones but the design is really great. Not for people with big fingers or bad eyes though. It doesn't have much memory, just to let you know. For a very average user like me, I could only store up to like 30 songs.

ok, people, plz plz plz read the previous posts, they will help you find the answer to the most common questions and plz plz learn to type, it isnt helpful to other people if you are making really bad typo errors ok, now on to the details (recapped) -mp3's can be set as ringtones but not as message alert tones -do not use the programs that are installed from the disk to transfer music to the phone, connect the phone to the computer with the usb cord given, then just goto "my computer" and open up the phone's folder, then open up the music folder, then drag and drop the mp3 file from your desktop into the phone's music folder (this can also be done for other files and vice versa meaning, you can drag and drop or just copy images/videos taken with phone to your computer) -the screen size is roughly 2cm x 2.5cm, but trust me, if you have good vision, u will be able to see everything displayed on the phone very well -to set a contact's picture, the pictures have to be taken with the phone's camera in the 48x48 pixel mode -to get to the options of the camera, first be in camera usage mode, and then push the left select button -for those of you asking if this is a girl or boy phone, ask this first, is the Motorola RAZR a girl or boy phone? just buy it in the color you want and stop being so paranoid about it -you can charge the phone while it is on, you do not have to turn it off first, and it should charge in about 2 hours time i think that is all for now, i cant seem to remember any other issues note* i have had this phone for about a month or two, i also have a problem with the mic on the phone but i think it gets better just over time, the slider works well, it is smooth yet firm, battery life will drain out really quick if you use the mp3 player option alot overall i am very satisfied with this phone as it is cheap for all the options that come with it

u need to ring ur phone co and get them to send you the mssn and wap settings. you can do this online with most companies, but a call wont hurt to make sure there are no other problems.

I find this phone very cool and slim. I have just recently purchased this phone and i cannot recieve nor send photo picture MMS.. I had this phone for 10 months. I never dropped it and handled it very well. The camera conked out last week and now the display...:( I'm completely unhappy with this phone..I paid 11K(INR) for this phone....I would have got a very nice model of Nokia for this price. Yes you can put more than ten songs on the phone. It has an internal memory of 128 MB, so you can hold around 30 songs, depending on how long and the quality the songs are recorded in. It really is a good phone.

I actaully really like the screen! The detail is great, nice and clear and bright, and even though it's small I don't notice! Plus, because it's smaller, there is less chance of breakage. I agree! This isnt useless and id reccommend it to everyone :)

the phone is NOT useless!! It really is a great phone. I have a very nice Nikon 7 MP camera, so I don't need a 3+ MP camera on a phone. The memory is perfect. I get tired of the same songs very quickly, and it doesn't take long to replace them out. It;s design is perfect. The screen is a tad small, but hey, I can still easily read and write SMS messages. It the most durable phone I have ever owned. Why would anyone need a phone with 2+ GIGS of memory? Maybe if you need it for business purposes, but for the average consumer...it can't be beat.

Pros: - Nice TFT screen although a bit small - Good polyphonic sounds - loud and clear - Feature rich - mp3, 1.3mp camera, Java - Generous 128Mb although a card slot would have been great - Pretty good battery life - Bluetooth Cons: - A bit thick @ 19+mm - Small menu/cursor buttons - Only 4 fixed SMS tones - can't use any other tones or mp3 - Unfriendly software included - No copy & paste (my previous Siemens phone had this - useful feature) - LCD blacks out in sleep mode - can't tell if I've missed a call or SMS simply by looking at it. Overall 7.5/10. Recommended.

Error sending message? Sounds like your sim is stuffed or ur message settings arent set up right, you're not in a gprs/wap covered area, or u have no credit, or you havent activated your phone co's mms messtings on your phone. ring them for this

Brendan.....the easiest way to transfer MP3's, animated wallpapers and file storage, is with a USB Dongle. You can use a USB cable as well hooked to your computer. Just DRAG 'N' DROP the music into the specified folder. It's all in the manual.

yes, you can set your MP3's as ringtones. The screen size is 1.3 inches, or 128x160. It's still plenty big to text and see. Adalberto.....when you plug your phone into the charger, turn on the phone. It doesn't need to be OFF to charge.

If you're having volume problems in calls - make sure the phone is actually slid open!!!!!! I just bought this and I;m quite impressed, although there is a bit more distortion in MP3s at full volume and it doesn;t go as loud in my opinion as my kg245.

Hi, i just bought the phone for my GF. Well she love it, and i find it nice. The only problem is that it cant set ringtone to the SMS. Which i find it wierd. Apart from that, i find there is a hearing problem, the other party cant hear my GF voice cleary? Is there a way to set the volume? I have set it to the MAX and its still the same. Nathan, To change the pixels to 48X48 you got to the Camera and you press the left button. You will find things like effects and size go into that and press 48X48. I hope this helps you

paul, you can use mp3's as your ringtone, you just need to install the software that came with the phone on your computer and then it should be accessible as a removable drive just like a usb and you just copy and paste mp3's from your computer onto the appropriate music file on the phone

I have the lg m6100 phone and its so cool but i'm not aloud to use it yet but after xmas coz its an xmas gift but i had a little play around with it and its so tiny but yet cute. This is how it came to be.... I went to the Allphones store in the mall and I was asking about this Samsung X530 and I asked the guy serving me if it had video and bluetooth and he says yes, so I went home had a little play around with and it had no video nor bluetooth, so me and my sister went back to Allphones and told the lady and she said that the guy didnt know a hell of alot about phones so i asked if i could have another phone but with video and b.t. so she got one of those ugly sony ericsson from boost mobile and i said no and then she got the lg one out and I didnt like it at first bcoz of it being small and all and she told me what it had and what it did and i got it and yeah. so thankyou for reading my life story.

I have the LG M6100 it's a great phone, the buttons are small so I do sometimes press the wrong button other from that it is GREAT! you can have MP3 ringtones but not for SMS you can only have the ones LG installed

Over the last 3 days i have had nothing but problems with this phone...everytime i send a msg it freezes on me and turns off...im now out off pocket for $200, i've taken it back and they replaced it for me with a new one, but like the first one it just wouldn't work. The LG contents bank works. Just that you need to set 'modem' in phone's setting befor you connect the cable. If not, it'll just appear as an usb thumb drive on your pc. i like this phone, but sadly, i can't set message tone volume, always missed my sms.... no choice got to change a new phone soon.

Totally awesome phone, I was surprised at its small size when I received it but I'm getting used to it. The small keys might be a bit of a problem for people with big hands, but other than that, great. The only problem I'm currently having is the ringtone. Does anyone know if we can have a more than one ringtone, like one ringtone for each contact? How? I can't even set a default ringtone because everytime I do, someone calls me and it goes back to the default ringing. For software, the Contents Bank will not work for me and neither will the Internet Cube and LG Sync. They keep complaining about ports and modems. Can anyone give advice?

I have this phone, it was locked to virgin but virgin are owned by optus and my optus sim card worked in it, yes it holds mp3's and about 15-20 of them, its a 128mb memory for multimedia, and 3mb for games and messages, the only problem is the screen, its about as wide as your thumb, but i dont really care, it makes the phone look cute, its a great phone, buy it!!

To add ur mp3 songs or pictures to image folder via lg contents bank u need to start the modem on ur phone first (it's in the tools group) then u have to connect the phone to ur pc using the usb cable. First u need to install lggsm programs! After that, if the modem is started PC will recognize the modem and install it automaticaly! After that u can use ur lg programs!

U don't need the software to transfer mp3 or other files from pc to the phone 'cause it recognizes the phone like any other usb device plus u can always use bluetooth. Phone is gr8, excelent camera, 128 mb, gr8 sound. If it won't work with ur pc then something must be wrong with ur OS 'cause it works just fine with me.

I recently bought one an im amazed! Camera is goods, slider works nicely, screen is smaller but really bright and details, layout is great. Couldnt get black but silver is nearly as nice. Only thing is maybe its a little too light but it still feels solid. I recommend this phone.

I was playing around with this phone the other day. It's a nice little phone. 128mb is not much, but if u just want a phone with mp3 function, it should do. It can hold about 25-32 songs depend on the size of the mp3. i didn't use the phone to transfer a mp3, so I don't how that will work. but just use the cable and software that came with phone with do.

To add a picture in the contacts you need to first change the size to 48x48 then snap a picture and when you go to ur phonebook it should be there under pictures which is below characters

I recieve a box which says 'Error -2010: the movie contains some invalid data'. Some movie files are fine and work, while others have the dialog box appear.

okay for those who needs help in adding songs to their phone this is how you do it... first u connect ur phone to the computer then open a folder called my computer (this has nothing to do with the LG content bank) click folders and u will see a list on the left side find the file where u store ur music then look for Removable disk (G:) and click the box next to it, you will see my media, click the box then on the right side u should see ur songs... and whatever song u want to put into the phone, drag the picture to the music section...and there, u got the song into the phone already!! its actually really really easy :)

I love my new phone its metallic pink..I got it shipped from China and its got lil asian animation..I like the fact that it came with 2 batteries instead of 1..My mom loves it too because you can change the language to Vietnamese..At first the connection was really bad everyone complained that i sound too far away but after a week everything is just fine..As far as the disk it came with I dont have a clue how to use it...I just connect my phone to the computer and click and drag the songs i want to Edrive..

Hi, I was just wondering if someone could please, please tell me how to download anything off of that PC DISC that comes with the phone pack. Everytime i click 'CONNECT' it says 'INITIALISING...PLEASE WAIT'and then gives up and doesnt do anything. I have got no idea what i am to do. babu, u need to take the photos in the smallest frameset, should be 48 x 48, it is the only way u can add pictures to contact, ur contact needs to be in your phone not your sim

Hi! I bought this mobile phone today and, as far as I have seen, it's really nice! It has many interesnting features and, although the user interface is not very intuitive in cases, it is generally easy to handle. However, I am unable to download any image or Mp3 file from my computer to the mobile phone, basically because, even if I use the USB cable provided, the mobile phone and pc do not connect. Is there anyone who could help me about it? Cheers!!

lol, for photo ID, you gotta change the picture size to the very smallest one, i think its like 48 x 48 or something.

Jus wana checked with all LG M6100 user. When at "My Photo" folder, do u sometimes have difficulty pressing the 'next' button (the right side of the middle metal button) to view the images? As in, by right, pressing the 'next' button ONCE should lead to the next image. But somwetimes, I need to press the 'next' button TWICE in order to get to the next image. Do u guys sometimes experience this problem too? But the 'next' button does not have the lagging problem when the phone is in other folder such as SMS folder or main menue. The problem mentioned above only occurs in the "My photo" folder. Pls share with me your experience.

Had it for about a week.good mp3 player.smallish memory though could only fit about 32 songs,i found that the easiest way to put music on it is by its bluetooth from your computer.screen and camera work well screen is small but sufficient.package comes with 2 batteries which was suprising,but needed cause if you use the mp3 alot battery life is average. all round happy with my new toy!

This phone is totally wonderful, great, superb, etc.. Yes, the charge goes for 3-4 days in normal usage, the only thing i may complain it has alarm but u gotta leave it on from the night, otherwise it doesnt turn on and sound the alarm. The mine is titanium grey, it has a paint llike motorola v535 or SEricsson z530i, a soft touch, like velvet. One thing, i aint agreed on tiny or small phones that they're for women, especially nowadays, the technology getting small down. Highly suggested ! Cheers...

Nothing to comment about this phone (M6100) because it reached my minimum requirement for an ideal phone (cool, stylish, unique & needed functions)but one thing that I would like to know is that how is the battery life spend in this phone? Can it last for at least 3 to 4 days in normal usage? The battery life is very essential for a phone. Bad battery life mean bad phone...

Tiny size for a slider! Anyone know if this phone can multi-task? That means can I listen to mp3 songs while maybe view the images? Pity that it doesn't come with radio. 128mb is a bit short on memory. Eyeing the powder blue colour one, if not for all the shortcomings like no radio and expandable memory shortage, would have bought this phone without hesitation.

Thanks to Saam Owen for clearing up some of the 'confusion' between LG and Samsung, not on my part though. I'm glad someone who really does know what they're talking about is putting things straight and giving good advice to those who obviously are much bigger fans of the ever common Nokia and Motorola handsets which, in my opinion, are certainly no better than LG's handsets and in some respects, inferior. I've been buying LG products since 1997 when the brand name was changed from Goldstar in the UK and i've had nothing but praise and thus i will defend them passionately. Keep up the good work LG, much impressed! (sorry to anyone who doesn't like what i've written, feel free to have a rant at me, it really is of no consequence to me). :-P

This phone looks great but 128 mb and no support for any type of flash card... damn. having an se w800 that comes with 512mb this feels like an kids toy. why not have support for transflash card? smallest card i have ever seen. ir port isnt a big deal, ir is slow and you have to point it to get a signal. bloototh is faster and you can have your phone where ever you want. sure it�s a toy, but still it looks GREAT!

I don't own this phone, i have a U880 n think its ace. I'm just feelin the need to correct some inconsistencies on this forum. LG and samsung are separate companies, both from korea, but separate. They both make their own components in house and rarely collaborate. As for who is copying who?? we'll never know because phones get released at different times, and it doesn't mean that the first to be released in your country was the first of that design. Anyway if a design is popular...why not mimic it, i would!

Not this but any LG cellphone or product you buy doesn't have a long guarantee that it is going to work for you.believe me i was an Lg's big fan, i used to buy all the electronics from lg within the period of 2to3yrs i almost spend about 30grands on lg but thats it, it will only last u for 2to3yrs even though they are not using there on parts but they suck ,it will be much better not to have consumer product from lg .

very good fone. infra red not needed when bluetooth is there. 128 MB is enough infront of 64 and 32 MB lamers. design is good (Hint: Nokia phone also has this design.).Yes screen is small, but that is guarantee to cheaper price. 100% adorable.

This phone is no compettion to samsung. First the s5200 and now this! What sort of a screen is that. It's probably only about 1.5 inches big. That's far too small for a phone that has a 1.3 megapixel camera.
