LG Q Stylo 4 - User Reviews

  • Mine Lg Stylo 4 has been great! With no issues 😃

  • I might've been unlucky and just got a faulty phone, but this is a piece of crap. Apps crash all the time, and the phone straight up refuses to charge at all. One time I had put it on the charger at 2% around night time, woke up in the morning and it was still on 2%. Just find any other phone that isn't this.

  • Wanted to make an update... they cracked the phone. Oh well, I guess it wouldn't last forever.

  • I have one right now as we speak. I have one through straight talk so this following problem could be just their fault. Myself and 2 other friends either currently have or have had the Stylo 4 all through straight talk. And we constantly run the problem of our service progressively dropping slowly after a few days. Example: it will be four bars in one spot. The next day it will be three. The next day it will be two. Then it will be one. Then suddenly our service cuts out completely. This can be fixed by restarting the phone, and when it it back on, it will be back at four bars. Another 3 issue I personally have is one that I have never had with any other phone is where I place my fingers when holding a phone. And often I have found that I have clicked random parts of my phone screen while doing something important. I do a lot of graphic design and one ghost click somewhere sometimes undos everything. The other two issues is the thumb scanner. While it is quick and accurate, I might argue it is too quick and accurate. I can't tell you how many times I have slid my phone into my pocket bringing my finger over the scanner and unlocking it as it goes into my pocket. I doubt there is anyway around that. And the other issue is the fact that it will also attempt to scan anything and everything that comes in contact with the scanner. Until it gets to the point it says "unable to use finger scanner at this time" it's not hard to put in my other password but it's inconvenient.

  • Well then they are just lucky it seems. I bought one and dropped it two days later and shattered the whole top of my screen.

  • Yes, I'm about ready to break this thing in half. If it were in one place, I'd think it was an issue worth trying to fix. However, the ghost clicks keep changing, then go away for a few months, then return.

  • I know a friend who uses this. Has had it for a while and is perfectly happy with it because they aren't into tech that much. I am still surprised it's still working though, because this person has dropped it countless times, is scratched VERY heavily on the front and back... no cracks. Believe me, you'd think this was a Nokia if you saw how many times it's been tossed around.

  • Its perfect for me. I see people with phone that cast a lot of money and i still have more features more than them

  • I owned two different lg stylo 4, one to them was very bad it had horrible ghost touch m

  • Wife and I both got one at the same time; mine - no problems. Hers - freezing, sluggish, and the screen on hers appears to NOT be polarized. Found that out with my sunglasses on, turned my phone sideways and it went black. Checked out hers, turned it sideways and still saw the whole screen. How could the screens be different on the same phone, bought at the same time? So if you get a good one then you're good; otherwise, return it.

  • It's been a good choice for me. No issues worth mentioning.

  • This phone is a pile of heaping dung. Constantly freezes on me . Won't hang up after a call, couldn't even power down. Can't hear anything on speaker. SUCKS

  • Is there anyone having an issue with buttons being pushed while on the phone?

  • I only get that when calling one person in my contacts. Trying to see if its an app or, the phone

  • I bought this phone used in excellent shape off ebay for $60. This Stylo 4 was replacing a ZTE MAX XL that i had dropped and broke the screen. The first and only day i used the Stylo 4 I was talking to my wife at lunchtime and started back into the building i work in and the call dropped, never happened with the ZTE. The second thing I didn't like was a little anoying notification telling me Pandora was draining my battery and i couldn't shut it off no matter what i did. The third thing i didn't like was they put the power on button directly across from the volume buttons so when you light your screen up, you change the volume. I guess people get a kick out of the stylus at first then that kind of wears off. Got a new ZTE

  • This phone is a great phone especially considering it's about $200 Previously using a S9+ supplied by employer. The only think I am not totally sold on is the main camera. It seems to struggle in less than full bright light.

  • I admire the battery

  • Yes, I just got this phone!!! I went from my Samsung 7edge! I too would like to smash this as well! This phone sucks!! I want my old one back!!

  • AVOID! This is a piece of shit. When calling on the phone, frequently I get a message requiring me to re-dial the number I JUST dialed before the call is put through. Spectrum refuses to address or fix the issue. In an emergency this could be disastrous!

  • Slowest piece of shit ever!!!!!!! I cant wait to smash it with a hammer

  • I bought this phone after the nightmare of the Samsung j7 perx. Samsung should be investigated by Congress for the j7 perx it is a piece of crap if there ever was one on this planet. everything that could go wrong with a phone with wrong with that phone. when I got this phone for about a hundred and thirty bucks I think it's excellent. for the price it's great. I see a lot of people with their cry baby comments saying this little thing here ain't perfect that little thing there ain't perfect so this hurts oh that hurt. I have this to say. grow up. The only thing the LG Stylo 4 is guilty of is not being everything to everyone. It is guilty of that. this is an excellent phone the price is ridiculously good and it's great for streaming UFC it's got just enough power and processing speed and it does what it's supposed to do and has a ton of features the movie editor and all that extra stuff is excellent it's loaded with a bunch of stuff you'll keep finding out about later. unless you're a spoiled rich person who mommy and daddy handed everything to and you've always bought the newest $900 phone your whole life if you're one of those worthless people you'll be unhappy. if you're just an average person who can appreciate something that's nice you'll like this phone don't listen to the entitled Cry-Baby useless eaters

  • I got this phone yesterday , from T-Mobile. Cons: Extremely Lagy Phone! (Doesn't matter if you install " Nova Launcher" or any other Launcher. - PHONE MENUS LAG BADLY -OPENING OF THE APPS TAKES FOREVER, probably 3 times longer than on flagship Samsung or iPhone. Will have to return this phone and will look for another option. This phone was meant to be for senior person but it's way too slow.

  • Its not a good phone. Volume is horrible. Camera takes horrible pictures. Battery time is horrible. Do not get this phone. The pen slot is in a horrible place...all advertisement for this phone is a lie.

  • The style 4 is an excellent phone for the price. My only complaints is no option for minimum brightness and the speaker strait up sucks. On the positive side it's got allot of high end features phones in this category don't have like 1080p resolution instead 720p Supports OTG, so if you have an OTG adapter you can plug in a USB drive and transfer files. Supports the camera 2 API so you can use camera features that are not on the legacy camera app that came on the phone. I use the manual cam app. I got it from the playstore for 5 $ which allows complete manual DSLR control of the camera and allows RAW capture of photos. And a bunch of other features not on the legacy camera app. With a little tweaking this phone is a beast for the price. Supports

  • lmfao

  • More of a Ford festiva than a Ferrari there playboy

  • not sure if the "Q" is the same as just plain, "stylo 4" which is what im posting about. ive had this phone a couple months now, 16g internal storage with 128 g on the external sd card. the 16g is not enough internal storage, when it is close to being all used, which it will with only a few apps, it will run slow and have plenty of problems. not all apps can be put on the external card, i am continually cleaning the phone trying to get storage, and my use mostly consists of making calls, playing scrabble, using viber and FB. the camera is the worst, very grainy, terrible in low light, its just not worth using. the battery life is not very long, but i like my screen bright, im sure that plays into it...if i go to sleep with a full charge and wake 8 hours later, but battery is on around 80%. now turning on this phone it is slow, if it doesnt freeze up, sometimes something pops up as its turning on saying "iu" did not turn on, do you want to wait for it or turn it off, everything gets slower, it will go black, sometimes if i hit the on button it comes back sometimes not.a good thing is its got a good looking screen, the calls sounds clear, it came with android 8 (oreo)...i am researching a new phone that my carrier has available.

  • The phone is great when it works... I bought one from T-Mobile, for use abroad for mainly the wifi calling. I used it for 3 days then the backlight stops working. I went through all the troubleshooting and fixes I could find online with no luck... The phone still “works” it's just hard to see what you're doing. Hopefully just a rare occurrence.

  • You know Metro PCS offers them for free? 250euro, depends.

  • You're calling a 250 euro phone a piece of plastic

  • Bruh, did you just call Wireless charging "Jade or Diamond"? c'mon it's likely the silliest feature available for mobile devices. It limits so much and offers so little. But ultimately you are correct, the Stylo 4 doesn't have Wireless charging capabilities.

  • You are asking if a piece of plastic includes Jade or diamond. So no.

  • does this phone have wireless charging capability - Iq? My new car has the function

  • Are u using Chrome or other browser?

  • Does anyone else find that images dont come in clearly when browsing online? Its terrible compared to my zte blade zmax that was purchased a year ago for about the same price as this Stylo 4. Im definitely going to try and return this to metro.

  • Use app inspector to find out app packages link. And then use adb command to froze or uninstall all the bloatware. Then the phone can run like a beast.

  • I am not sure if this is the same phone as the Stylo 4 I have, this one list "Q Stylo 4" mine does not list the "Q" and mine does have FM radio!

  • Will this be available in the Philippines? When?

  • bought at Walmart for family mobile...does what I need it to and cost about 130 dollars. good screen, fast charge, holds charge pretty long2-3 days if I do not use it much. Camera OK, I do not like it as much as my ASUS zenphone laser, but it works.

  • metro sells knock off phones.

  • I was thinking the same thing, if you have to tie a bone around your neck to get the dog to play with ya, don't be mad at the camera when is shows you what everyone else sees

  • I seen someone ok need YouTube dip in water it still be worked

  • I am having a Note 9 because it meets my demands. I am looking for a powerful phone as it does what I need. Composing. (you'll be surprised how accurate it goes in the studio app with a pen), video edits, Playing games (not basic ones like candy crash, Those that are REALLY heavy. Like Real racing 3, MOBA games. and others.) Osu! (I tried playing an "expert" difficulty map on the stylo 4. the frame drops really annoyed me. and it caused me to get much lower accuracy than I am actually capable of) and just 2 GB of ram? it just wouldn't cut for me. However. for those who DON'T have the needs like I do. I pretty much agree, Preformance, Camera, and the name is all that differs between the two.

  • I can afford the a Note 9 but am tired of paying a grand for a phone. The Sylo 4 gives me 80-90% of the functionality of the Note at 1/4 the cost. And how many people even use the full functionality of the Stylo let alone the Note? Most folks buy the Note for the big screen, stylus, camera and to show off the brand. Only clear difference between them is the camera and the name.

  • I have no battery I but then I know how to conserve battery life and get 8-10 hours usage before next charge and the max time I get. Is 14-15 hours time. It's all depends on how you look at it and how well you know how to use your phone.

  • I got this phone about 5 days ago. At first I thought that its just a average phone compared to flagship phones. Honestly, its amazing how much you get for the price. I got mine for under 200. I love the large screen. the stylo works well. the fact that it comes with 8.1 oreo stock is great! I do wish it had more ram but I haven't had any issues with performance. Just tweak your phone into beat mode. Mine is lighting fast. the calls are clear and do not drop ( unlike other low end devices) it kind of reminds me of an S8 plus with al the features. ** Make sure you unlock developer options and change the animation speeds to make up for the low ram. I m very impressed with this phone. I think if they make one that has 3 GB of ram and a nicer back and slightly improved camera, it will be a flagship killer.

  • Just launched over here. It's a good phone for those who kind of want a phablet. It's wider than the Note 9 and competes well with the Moto Z3 Play. Decent Camera and great battery.

  • Not water proof but water (splash) resistant

  • Water proof or not ?

  • There's a review online that states the Stylo 4 has a max brightness of 476 nits and min. brightness at 3 nits.

  • I got the Stylo 4 from MetroPCS because I needed a quick fix, I either wanted the Galaxy Note 8 or the new HTC phone, but because of work I went with this one, 2 months later I am loving it, I go 3 days without charging it and that's having more than 8 hours of screen time, also the Stylus pen is great and responsive, the 13MP camera isn't that great but it does it's job and it is a really cheap phone.

  • I have an iphone 6 and i just b ought this phone for my boyfriend .. I persoanlly love it! The speed has been flawless

  • The phone screen went black or flashed I don't like it had to replace it took one month get new a week after purchased.

  • Nice mid-range phone. I've had the MPCS version ($35 port-in deal) since release here in the states with no big issues. Only use for calls, texting and on occasion...web browsing and drawing. No issues with the 2gb of ram for my uses as the phone is still snappy with very little to no lag (which is common with most android phones even those with 4-6gbs of ram). I don't have any of those poorly-optimized android social apps on it. I get a full day to a day and a half from the battery without battery saver on. I haven't even used battery saver on this phone yet. I usually have no more than 2 apps open at one time and with that the phone works great. Quick charging takes about 30-40min to full charge, slower than my back-up phone, but fast enough. Screen is TFT which is a nice and clear 1080p, but isn't as bright as my other IPS LCD equipped phones, so outdoor viewing during sunlight is more of an issue with this screen. No issues with WiFi and Bluetooth connections. OLens is pretty useless for me. Used it and it's very sketchy on what it can find (perhaps more time is needed for QLens to fully be adopted?). It seems to work great with recognizing DVD and Blu-Ray movies, but not much else that I've tried it on. I take very few pictures...the front camera is of no use to me, used it once or twice and the picture was pretty decent. The back camera takes nice real world pictures, not overly saturated, blown out colors like some other phones I've used. No issues with focus at all, it's pretty quick too. This is with my use, so I can't speak for others. Night time pictures aren't too hot, but I expected that. Video is decent, since this phone has no image or vid stabilization you'll get noticeable shake if not using a tripod or something. Sound comes in nice on the video though, not choppy or muffled. Again, this is just from my usage. The overall feel and design of the phone is nice. Very minimalistic, something that I like. So if you want something that looks like you've spent hundreds of dollars on it, this isn't the phone for you, hahaha! I've got big hands so this phone feels just right. I've no need to shrink the screen to get to what I need to get to. Tap to wake and sleep, screen shrink, face recognition (quick), fingerprint scan (quick) all work nicely, a few hiccups at times. I've got a small scratch on the back (not sure exactly when or how it got there haha)...not too bad but it's there, so of course I've got a case on it now. Speakers are a disappoinment. Rubbish to be honest...hollow and tinny sounding (even with equalizer settings), but it gets the job done. DTS X sounds very nice with headphones. Stylus is very accurate and the amount that can be done with it artistically is impressive for a mid range budget phone. The one bothersome issue I had with this phone is I'd get a "SD card was ejected" notice. I don't lose anything important, but it causes my comic book reader app to lose the current book I was reading. I've cleaned the card tray (dust compressed air can) recently though and haven't had any problem since.

  • i have the stylo 4 from metro pcs had it for 2 weeks i dont have no issues with mine i like it since i work on phones too my screen is working nicely no lag or nothing i dont mind the 2g rom its still enough for me

  • Best buy have the stylo 4 unlocked

  • Going to switch over to a new carrier So it a good phone if it free?

  • Metro pcs has an overclocked processor in theirs so it might have some issues. Like i had screen flickering going black but that was solved by making sure i dont have more than 1 app drawing over other apps

  • There is no in app notifications capabilities according to lg great phone otherwise

  • why blame the carrier when having issues with the device?

  • And Whatcha think of it? Is it nice? Does it perform well? How's the camera? Thanks in advance!

  • Wife upgraded me with the LG Stylo 4 . Great features and luv the handling it is easy after you play with it for a while. Can upload more apps to get it up to my level and great upgrade.

  • Bought it 5 days ago at metro pcs and it’s a glitching metro pcs always mess up on there phones

  • With 32gb of empty space when brand new out of the box the phone should have about 23 gb of empty space ... you probably do not understand what happened. You probably transferred the data from your old phone clogging the new one.

  • then if it sucks, why keep buying stylo phones

  • Returned to T-mobile after 2 days. The phone has 4xxmb ram remaining without any personal apps installed. After I installed some apps, just 4 extra apps, the phone became very laggy. I am not even the gaming type. I ask LG if they are gonna release the bootloader lock so I can root and modify the phone to be usable, however, LG is not planning to unlock the phone anytime yet. I tried to use adb command to uninstall bloatware but that does not help too much. Struggle for 2 days figuring out how to make use of it. Eventually returned it.

  • I'm baffled as to why you would post this as a review. You haven't even held the device yet. Who do you think could possibly benefit from this useless post? Really I am curious.

  • Nice review

  • Everething is great how about RAM 2gig of ram sucks

  • For an entry level phone it is amazing, I charge every 3 days and it's never slow. If you want a cheap phone but with the feel of a premium phone you should get this one.

  • Just ordered one from T-mobile yesterday, waiting for shipping. Hopefully alright.

  • The Stylo 4 from Cricket has 3gb of RAM the listings should be separate because cricket and metro almost always have different device features.

  • Are you sure it's not just your face? Don't blame the Ferrari cause your ass cant drive.

  • A very nice phone for the price.

  • This is a not high performance phone it's a simple midrange phone for people who can't afford a high end phone

  • It's on snapdragon 450 thats why it's not supposed high end phone it's mid range phone

  • I asked T-Mobile rep today, they confirmed that they do not have news on the device on T-mobile.

  • I got total scammed with this camera. LG Stylo 4 should be recalled. It is defective and Metro PCS won't give people their money back. LG Stylo 3 and 4 and Samsung galaxy S7 Series decided to place a wide-angel camera in the font of the phone, which a) is totally insane since wide angles is use for landscaping and scenery not to shoot at ones face, and c) wide angel should not distort the face to make you look like a monster and not even look like yourself. In other words, LG Stylo 4 is defected. Do not buy it till they fix the camera and the software. I have the GoPro camera which is a wide angel camera, and does not distort my face like that. I'm now stocked with a useless phone since I used the camera for work. PS> The rare camera is not difference has bending distorting issues too. Metro PCS you need to recall these phones and either replace them or give our money back!

  • Note 5 on steroids. Battery life took me into a day and a half and still had 15% to eat on. Went to work, got off, went out to eat after work, partied, and it still looked at me with bright eyes. Snappy surfing, navigation, picture taking. Lg lg lg. Oh and the screen resolution, huh? I personally think lg and Samsung has joined regimes.

  • Thanks.....when?

  • Yes T-mobile will have this phone.

  • Will United Kingdom have it?

  • Will T-mobile get this?

  • Colors?

  • It uses Snapdragon 450..

  • The screen to body ratio is this phone makes it so enticing

  • Guy says he has had a stylo since day one? And they have horrible battery life? So why do you continue to buy them? Buy a note 8! Well any way every LG phone period I've owned has been outstanding, including the stylo 3 have now. Battery superior and this stylo is gonna be even better. Ha ha ha

  • Nobody forces you to buy it so what is the problem?

  • The LG Q Stylo 4 is cheaper the the Q7... 240USD vs ~480EURO... The better option is the Q7+ if you want to upgrade, but your current phone is just ok for the next year. Just wait and get the a low end phone for 200-500$. If you really want to get one now thinc about getting one with a 1080p+ screen a finger print sensor and a good battery. My sugestions are: Nokia 5.1, Galaxy A6+, Motorola Moto Z3 Play, Galaxy J7 Prime 2... good luck!

  • What CPU does it have? -Would be nice to see Snapdragon 710 in this phone!

  • im 13 years olda and I have a lg q6. should I actually switch to this phone or the lg q stylus or lg q7.because I need better features and camera (specs too).

  • 2 gigs of ram in 2018? Even unknown chinese brands have better specs than this phone...must be some real "genius" working in LG, id rather buy refurbished v10 than this crap

  • I've been purchasing stylo's from day 1. And the batteries suck. Piece of crap for the money that they want people to pay.
