Nokia 5140 - User Reviews

  • Been seeing new ones on Ebay for 199 GBP

  • You can get them on Ebay or find one in Bootsale

  • I love this phone a lot, no matter how many times I have dropped it, still searching to get a new one, please let me know where a can I buy a new one of this

  • i love this phone .. u ll knw if its available .. if yes can u let me knw wre i can buy it from ... this phone is kinda nostalgic... jus miss dis phone ,no matter hw many times i dropped it ..its still d best mobil i hv ever used .. lets not compare dem to android ...lol .cheers..

  • nice fone lol

  • Men that phone is waterproof

  • it is a very nice mobile in addition of compass, flash light, thermometer and sound level meter at that time it was very useful. the other thing that i noticed in this mobile is that you can put it in a profile - like silent - for limited time and after that it will back to the main profile..... I really wish that nokia make a new version of this type.... regards

  • yes!

  • dear all I have Nokia 5140, and the case was broken. where i can buy the new case for my Nokia 5140. i am from indonesia. many thanks.

  • My 5140 got software problems in the first 6 months

  • is this mobile water proof ?

  • - Improved durability - Thermometer - Flashlight - Automatic volume control - Digital compass - Sound meter high quality and spec for year 2003

  • Its great phone i using this phone now 4years,changing 3covers,Ihave the original batery works how new.

  • Online. ensure its a genuine case/cover.how? Ask, also the price is a good indicator.

  • Have owned one for 5 years, the phone is GREAT!,i think it needs updating.Nokia have a good product but they should bring out a sturdy, tough phone that has memory card.better camera. the 5140i nokia improved the screen(65k)but you get less memory than 5140(5mb)5140i(3.5mb). I have dropped this phone few times a day over years the original case is falling apart but rest of phone is ok, Oh the battery.I got a 1000mha one and it lasts much longer. Also ONLY USE ORIGINAL NOKIA COVERS.there are loads of imitations that are poor quality and will affect its ability to take abuse, falls etc. looking at the 3720 classic now thats NOKIA newest rugged phone(about time) and does look completely unlike this rugged phone but is sure tough.Has ip rating, this newest one im hoping will be a good replacement for my trusty 5140. 5 YEARS ON,DROPPED UNTOLD TIMES,most phones could not handle that... MY 5140 HAS !!!!!!!!

  • hd 1 4 to lng wnt a nw fne badly!nt a bad fone at all

  • i already hav 1

  • i got one for you i f u still want it :)

  • Faceplates are easily obtainable on eBay.

  • Definitely a guy phone. Very durable and dependable. Have one as a backup and activity phone. My problem is where to find a new faceplate of good quality.

  • I love the phone vary much, it's vary rugged and strong to handle, love the quality and appearance not to flashy, and looks vary matured to handle, not vary common in Nigeria, but is one of my favourate nokia products.

  • the battery does not corresponds with the fone, easily gets flat needs recharging everyday and the switch should have been on the keypads, can easily gets damaged on where it is.two star rating

  • NBA

  • I like this phone very much but my bad luck i can not find it in quetta pakistan

  • ilike it

  • is good for outdoor....... not good for businessman,,,

  • my cell phone5140 betrre empty

  • I have the same issue. Haven't figured it out, though...

  • not working correct in batter

  • why my nokia 5140's gprs is not perfect. everyday if i try to set it is not good. it is even got off. pleas what is the solution.

  • I've had one of these for just over 3 years. I am wanting to get another phone but I just can't find anything that seems close to my trust 5140. This phone just won't give up after being thrown, falling and being dropped in rivers and hot baths it still works. The battery is starting to show signs of giving up because of all the GPRS IM chatting I do with it. And the original cover lasted about 2 years, now I am going through knock off covers at a rate of 1 every 3 months. Perhaps loosing this phone will be what pushed me to upgrade. IMHO one of the best phones ever made especially because of its immunity to water. There haven't been any major new features in the newer phones with even Nokia regurgitating the same platform over and over again in different configurations. The only thing I wish the 5140 had was bluetooth as for MP3's I'd rather use an MP3 thumbdrive player for battery life purposes.

  • This is a great Rugged Phone i have owned one for 3yrs No probs the only downside is no mp3 player but i use the torch all the time and internet if Nokia make a new version of this phone with an mp3 player i would upgrade but until then im keeping this.

  • I got this phone as a replacement for my Nokia 6250 because I needed a triband phone. But I still regret replacing my 6250 with this cheaply built piece of plastic. They call it a rugged phone but it is lightyears away from the ruggedness of a Nokia 6250 which is allmost indestructible. How on earth can they call a phone with removable plastic covers a rugged phone, after 3 years of normal use it allmost falls apart completely. My 6250 survived a drop down a concrete staircase without any problems and I don't see a 5140 doing that. Nokia should be ashamed that they stopped producing really good phones.

  • I am the proud owner of my lovely k810i but i still prefer to use this phone whenever im out hikeing or camping, purely for the piece of mind that i'll never be uncontactable! this phone doesnt take knocks and bumps, it easts them and spits them out while screaming, C'MON IS THAT THE BEST YOU'VE GOT?? WELL? WELL?! also the compass- although a tad unreliable due to fact you have to line the bubble up just right- is perfect for short distance point to point navigating, the torch is perfect for finding your torch and all this wrapped up in a waterproof casing BARRY!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yes, the 5140 does come in Black as well. Had used it abt a year back. One of the Sturdiest Phones i have ever seen in my life after the 5110 and 3310. The only Drawback is the Graphics.Othrwise overall 3 cheers to Nokia again. An Ardent Nokia Fan

  • I've had the 5140 for a long time now, but I've never had any problems with it. I love the rubber shell, the flashlight (so useful!) and the fact that not everyone has this phone. I had the 5100 before this, which i loved and lost. I actually prefer the 5100's looks over the 5140. I also have a Nokia N73, but I still use the 5140 as my main phone. I wish it had a TFT screen, though. What's the point of having an outdoor phone if you can't read the screen outdoors? The STN screen really sucks. I also wish it had more memory. I know people say you should buy a real camera if you want pictures, but the fact is Nokia DID include a photo and video camera in this model, so it would have been more sensible to include a bigger memory or an expansion slot. Overall, this phone is one of my favorites, along with the 5100.

  • nice phone overall have had it for 2 1-2 yrs battery needs to be charged every day, my keypad keeps falling out if dropped and i cant hear pepole on the other end right away, needs a much better camera (who still makes a 4mm vga?) but i would still recommend it for its sturdyness, the phone is outlined with rubber which is good as is the key pad which makes the phone waterproff

  • i simply love this phone, i have had it for a little over 2 years and although it is starting to go south, i cant part with it, i broke the bottom piece off so it is no longer water proof and the key pad likes to come out also the "0" is starting to fail but nonetheless this is by far the best phone i have ever had. it is EXTREMELY user friendly and is very fast to respond to user imputs. even though it is old it is by far one of the greats

  • I've had this phone for nearly three years now and it still works like a dream! Love the housing, the look, and the performance. Definitely a sturdy phone.

  • I have this phone for 2 years. I could chose it or 3220, but I prefer 5140. It's a great phone, great design. Things that I have to complain, is about the memory.

  • I have had it for 3 years, lost it in the snow for a week , found it, shitched it on and it worked, dropped it in a puddle while it was ringing and picked up and talked while water was dripping of it. Have never seen such thing, immortal! tell me nice sport phone to buy?

  • I really like this phone I had its predecessor the 5100 which has had a lot of software problems, from not turning back on the 1st day I got it to freezing and not knowing it isnt working grrr the new version is much better

  • This is a nice phone. Can some one please send me some pics. My nr. +264812586899. Thanks be a pall.

  • the 5140 has been with us for a long time its a phone for the working man or woman or the outdoor intusiast... draw backs are no bluetooth and hard to take off the back cover that can be looked @ as a good thing 2? the colour ed covers were very funkie but not much to pick from ( loss of a marked there i think ) out of 10/8 docked 4 lack of accesory and bluetooth ...

  • i want know phone having: 1.digital compass 2.thermometer 3.high camera 4.flash light 5.card slot 6.bluetooth 7.fm radio many thanks

  • i want a mobile as nokia 5140 + some annother specification like : 1.high caera 2.card slot 3.blue tooth i mean new vergin from nokia 5140

  • this phonne is an ex. one from nokia , but we want a new mod. from it with : 1.good camera & double camera g3 gen. 2.bluetooth 3.card slot 4.more & more thanks alot

  • I am Glad my contract is up on this phone.Had major software faults in first 3 months and phone away long time for repairs. The key pad is flimsy and has been replaced. The screen quality is bad.Perhaps time to switch away from Nokia.

  • i had this phone for 1 year it is preaty stronge it's last for 1-3 day batt the only bad part is it has no mp3 but the nokis 5140i it is a good phone but if you are in to music donot buy it

  • i onli had this fone for 1 year, and the cover is starting to wear out! lol and the battery now last for 1.5 hour talk time! wasnt worth my $400 =( i hate it.

  • I have this fone niw for 2 years, and battery life still exellent, 3-5 days (signal & operating dependant). Uses the thermometer alot. Commpass works perfectly, much cheaper than say a "Suuntoo". Video size and memory can be better, as well as the display. sometimes difficult to see in sunlight, but this is the thing with color screens. Cannot have both ways.

  • Is this phone come in complete black color

  • The bottom flap already wornout!!! Nokia please take note of this...

  • I am using Nokia 5140 for almost two (2) years now, still in great shape. Very useful especially on fieldworks! To date, only the key pad surface started to fade. So far, the best model in it's class!!!

  • This is the worst phone I've ever had, about a month after I bought it, it started to crash, sometimes it restarted itself after a crash, sometimes I had to take the battery out. About 11 months after I bought it, it crashed and wouldn't get back up again, so I sent it in for service and got the same phone back (!), factory reset. Now, after 14 months it crashed once and for all. I'm just going to buy the cheapest model I can find and smash my 5140 with a mallet.

  • ive been using this phone for over 4 months and i love it.. excellent sound quality and reception..

  • I have had a 5140 for more than a year and a half and it's still perfect!

  • I used to have this phone before my Samsung E720, and I hated it! It kept falling apart and it wasn't that tough like it said it was in the magazines!!! Does anybody know how you connect this with a computer? Tell me please by e-mailing me. Thanks Joe xox

  • what is the best position of the phone to transmit or receive data from a pc by using infrared port?

  • This fone fails to downloads most videos"it says memory full".Battery is a mess.No mp3.Camera does not zoom before you shoot picture.Anyway it's great but not for my liking.

  • Hi I am from Trinidad and I think this phone is crap it doesn't have Mp3 ringtones And the memory sucks the camera does not even takes picyures well if I was You I would throw it away in a bin it suck big time

  • Just got this fone i wanted a cheap sidekick with my p910i this was the best option i cud have with all the great specs gr8 cellfone....

  • Well i got this phone last year it is a great phone it has all its functions, the compass is great. My comment about it is that it has not got MP3, bluetooth and cant take a memory card, but overall it is a great phone.

  • hey! everybody looking for a mobile go for 5140.I am working for mobile company and everyday i see mobiles but the best cell i came a cross is 5140.all new models sucks. they are all making money.but old cells are much better. best of luck if u are buying a new cell.

  • I recieved this phone off my mum when she got a new one in September. She had owned it for only a year. When i got the phone i was quite pleased with it as it did video and took pictures (my first camera phone!). But, after about a month or so, it started to freeze up. I solved this the first and second times by removing the back cover and taking the battery out. This just cut the power then I would turn it on again and set the date & time and it would be fine again. But, in late November/early December, it froze again. "No problem" I thought. Took the battery out reset it and all that, doing exactly the same as the previous times. When I went to turn it on, it wouldn't. It wouldn't charge either. So, I took it to my local phone shop to see if they could source the problem. AFter the obvious problems that could of occurred, he tried looking inside the phone and came to the conclusion that it was unrepairable. Thinking he may be wrong, i went to another phone shop for a 2nd opinion. But, they said exactly the same. I have just bought today a Siemens SF65 which looks rather more promising than my old 5140. I would recommend this phone, brand new, but beware of buying or recieving a second hand one as it may sting you good and proper like mine did...

  • I was hoping to get the 6230 but the 5140 has made a great replacement. I am from Trinidad and i have no complaints about this phone. It has almost everything! there are even features i am not sure how to use. The only thing its missing is MP3 compatibility. Other than that 10 out of 10 for this phone!!

  • The Nokia 5140 has more than 200kb of memory. In fact it has about aprox 4mb of memory for storing photo's, ringtones and other files. This should help those of you who are confused! Kyle

  • I am a university student and i purchased this phone recently. i am very happy to purchase this phone. Through buying this phone, my all dreams come true. This phone has lot of things which can only imagine by those persons which not have it. I am fully satisfied with the battery timming of this set. In last i want to say that this phone is very very much good in my point of view. Bye bye Allah Hafiz M.Qamar Hayat Mirza University of the Punjab, Pakistan

  • Is it true that this phone have 0.2 MB of free memory?! It is 200KB! Is it rely posible?

  • isn't there a nokia 5140 in blue????

  • Good phone.BUT.The flap on the bottom started to peel off at the corner after a few months of use..nokia didn't wan't to replace it saying warenty didn't cover it..Crap design...Crap servicr from Nokia....Nokia customer service is f%^&$#..

  • Please tell me what difference between 5140 and 5140i? Thanks

  • Katisha Rathmann you can get abluetooth adapter

  • Saulyzz Get a lease for it and just pull the lease.

  • jurkka Phone your sevice pervider they should talk you yhough it.

  • how can one get yahoo settings to receive mail directly as sms messages to this phone? tried surfing yahoo but did not find any POP settings to download...? Other than that, cheap phone with lots of different possibilities.

  • The phone is cool! Everyting is working just fine! I like that! Good batery, radio, IR! But it's little hard to take it from the pocket :)

  • No offence to all the lovers out there but mine broke after only 2.5 months NO GOOD - just won't turn back on again - no big knocks. NOT HAPPY Jan. Optus and Nokia both refuse look at fixing it as I scrathced my screen.. please expain

  • anyone experience problems when saving info via infra red???? otherwise. good phone altho alot of features are really not needed

  • This phone feels solid and reliable.(although this is my 3rd handset) the tourch function has come in really handy at times but the thermometer is definetly not acurate.my hands are not large but i find i still push the wrong arrow keys.i wish the screen display was bigger, even if the phone had to be slightly larger.

  • sounds good except the infered beam is not to strong it just cuts through my leg. other than that good.

  • good one s.a.s. dan:) this phone does have alot of features that you don't need but it's an exellent phone for tradesmen. my cousin got 1 and he loved it until it was lost one day. i've had no customers come back unhappy though.

  • I have the phone for two months now and i am very pleased. The infrared works great, you can send pictures to other phones and .midi but you can't send games. The menu is a litle slow but you will adjust, the pictures pretty good.I also like the fact that there aren't many who have this kind of phone.

  • thinking of buying this phone i was woundering if you increase the video time to about 4 mins like you can do on the 6230

  • We bought two 5140s. One for me and one for my husband. When we tried to send pix from my husbands phone with infrared, it sended w/o any prob and mine phone received very easily. But when I tried to send with infrared, I got an error message. Again and again. I am very unhappy:(

  • This phone is a joke.thermometer inaccurate, why do you need a sound meter?can't send photos.this phone is full of dust.i think i'll buy a different brand.all of my friends have european phones that are far superior

  • I want to buy this phone for its ability to interface with Polar Heart Rate Monitor (s625x). Has anyone used this feature? does it work? pros/cons etc.

  • I GO COMANDO TOO! this phone saved me when under heavy attack from monkeys! one tried to tug at my little fella and the vibrate feature shook him off. a large snake then came for me but i cut off its head with the infa-red beam but got a small amount of vernom in my eye. i then used the outer case as a sleeping bag while i recovered and the phone called for back-up

  • Would like to know when there will be bluetooth available with this hanset 5140?

  • just get back from mars, compass suck, shows north on east so i lost my way back to ship.

  • i think nokia 5140 is cool with its torch, digital camera, radio and much more

  • I just got the 5140 and so far im content of it's features..and things that knows to do.Its a really nice phone in my opinion and it gives the impresion of durability and strenght.

  • i would just like to say that i am a commando too. but i am still awaiting the baratillo response from Pawiks. from what i heard, i think this phone has a lot of features, like when im in the forest and get lost, but the disadvantage is that when i have lowbat, i cant use the compass.

  • I have had Nokia's only and have always loved them, but this phone has let me down. I got this phone in november 2004 and had it in for repairs 7 times in 5 months. The phone has a tendency to turn off for no reason and sometimes will not turn back on (thats why I had it repaired). Even under waranty Nokia would not replace the phone with a different phone. The last straw for me is when they replaced it with another 5140 (or so they said) and now it wont charge.

  • Honestly this is my first Nokia phone. When I first got it,I thought that it as and imitation. but when I got into the nitty gritty of the phone I realised that it was really a cool phone. The compass fitness coach was a cool gesture. Once u record u can ues it as a ringtone. Infared is very easy 2 use since thats all I do 2 get my new ringtones. The wallpaper can't get rid of it,totally bump proof fed up throwing it around. The only problems I have with it is that I can't get the red cading 4 the phone and the headset port should of been more stable it tends 2 come out alot, and should have more games like the beloved snake, tetris etc. and last but not least the camera some pictures does not come out clean and when u zoom u don't zoom in on the picture itself. All in all its a really cool picture

  • i first saw this phone...fell in love with it...but dont have in d country yet...pls..anybody out there...can buy for me this phone pls!!!! i really reallyx10000000 need this phone...or els emy whole family will die...!!!! pls save my family n buy this fon for me..plsss i beg you!!!! my phone num. is 016-3232696 my name is ccm

  • 1) i had snuck the mobile in for the push to talk service that was availiable 2) i do not know why they shot aa guns at our platoon but it was probably through running out of ammunition. during the fire fight we thought that the enemy forgot to pull the trigger off their motars but they were actuall aa shells.

  • well very kool. but no bluetooth, memory card, and mp3..usefull here in my place.

  • to rnz@ 1. why would you have a mobile in the middle of iraq? 2.why would ani aircraft guns be fired at an infatry platoon?

  • hey guys, which fone would u recommend, the 5140 or the 6020? any help would be appreciated. thanks guys.

  • Nokia 5140 - Great idea, fantastic features, but let down by awful menu graphics and poor water-resistance. Nokia's proprietary software was fast, responsive and uncomplicated; The market leader is now beaten flat by many other manufacturers who have taken advantage of the real benefits of Symbian - what went wrong!!?? Has anyone discovered if there is any way of getting rid of those damned wallpapers?!?

  • hi everybody im also a former commando for the s.a.s. this fone saved my life! i was in a mission in iraq, but i never knew that the enemy was following us, suddenly we came under fire from an anti aircraft gun, i got split up from my platoon and i got lost in a wadi. i grabed my compass to determin my destination but it was broken, probably when i fell down. i used the digital compass on the fone, determined my position and was able to call in a helecopter. this fone saved my life, it was the best investment i made.

  • im a former s.a.s commando and this fone serverd me well, while i was in the training course i dropped this fone into -15 degree water and still it worked, i droped it from a 15m rope course and the phone still worked. i guess if i wasnt that clumsy then i wouldnt have found out its true potential. its a great fone, supa strong!

  • My boyfriend got this phone because he works outdoors, & needed a durable phone. He dropped it & it wouldn't come back on. Sent it Nokia who said it was "beyond economical repair" & was "water damaged". Water damaged how i'd like to know, since the day he dropped it was bone dry! You're supposed to be able to attach this phone to the front of your bike. It would appear that is only recommended if the weather is good! Our opinion: A LOAD OF RUBBISH!

  • Love the phone, sound meter is great, everything perfect, except one thing! how the hell do you remove the blasted wallpaper with the lines through it? Ive turned off the wall paper option, but that only removes the thing from the main screen, not all the menus, is there a way to fix this? I have a DKu-5 cable and nokia software... there must be a way!

  • I'm an old Nokia 5100 user (more than 2 years) and I just got 5140. If you feel oready satisfy with 5100 so you'll be amazed by 5140. The sound meter is very usefull like usuall (I'm a sound engineer) so does the flashlight. The Compass is really cool. The durability is just awesome. Too bad the screen, camera, video recorder is just so so. But still I love this 5140, it's really fits on me and my job. This is a cellphone that a field engineer should have. I gave 9 for overall score....

  • All I want to say that I Never Seen Such a phone like Nokia 5140, It never crashes, sinks, or anything else... My Advice is that everey one who wants the long live cellphone must have Nokia 5140...

  • It almost going to be 7 months for my cell and it's amazing phone, my daughter dropped it many time but nothing happen, who have kids should go for this cell,I just love it, but it would have been nice if there was bluetooth for it.

  • Anonymoose, I think what you meant to say was that the phone has 4MB of memory, not 4kb. :-)

  • D phone has 4kb of memory. personally i dont see the need for all those extra features, coz as it is d phone is already overflowing wid dem. Sure, get a phone with mp3, bluetooth, tons of memory and megapixel camera. but if it's not as tough as the 5140, don't come crying home to your mammas. :-)

  • Does it have Bluetooth? Does anyone answer these questions!

  • This phone can be better.Very much better. Can it has 64k or 256k?Can it has much memory? Can it has MP3?Can it has anything.

  • how big is 5140's memory? and can it be upgrdaded?

  • To Mitch, I bought the 3220 a couple of weeks ago and its a very nice phone, colors are very bright, lights are very atractive, the design is perfect and of course it have some disadvantages that you probably know, about connectivity for example. But a funny thing is that when I bought it there was a man changing his 5140 because when he bought it, the employ let the phone fell down to the floor to show it is shock resistant, but the 5140 remain unusuable. Good luck in your selection...

  • Mitch. 3220 has no IR ....although display is good but no radio also... and Shock resistance, Dust Resistance, Water resistance, flashlight....etc etc...

  • to Mitch go for the 3220 it has a way better camera and video display its smaller and lighter its a fun phone and my best friends little bro has one and hasnt had any trouble with it i wanna get one ps. sry about your 3310

  • i recently had my 3310 stolen and am looking at getting a new nokia, i am looking at this 5140 or the 3220. can anyone recommend which would be better i would be thankful

  • The keypad is very difficult to use. Certain keys have to be pushed twice

  • Ron, The striped background can't be switched off, for now. Maybe it might be removed with a firmware upgrade, but personally I wouldn't consider it just yet while the phone is within warranty.

  • Did anyone find a way to get rid of the stripes on the screen of the Nokia 5140? I agree with Peter that these are very irritating. I have switched the wallpaper off, but even that doesn't help. Any advice would be most appreciated.

  • this phone is gorgeous. too bad it's not available in indonesia.

  • I have an n5140 and i think it is a great phone, but the display it's lowwwwwww! It is a cstn display with 4k,and the cover display protection has a blue glas, not white so it makes it even lower. And the camera it's great, but not on that display! In the dark you can't see a thing. If you want to buy this fone for the making pictures please reconseder.About every thing else it's great!

  • FFH, Siemens is in danger of shutting down its mobile phone division. Apparently a lot of other people don't agree that Siemens phones are the best.

  • The Travel Guide, like all java applications on Nokia phones, cannot use the WAP settings to connect to the server. The user must set the GPRS settings under the settings menu and under the services menu. The settings are operator specific but the "internet" access point usually works internationally.

  • Hi JMN, I tried TravelGuide in Florida and after setting up the internet acces point and using that instead of wap settings it was able to connect to the server. Unfortunately these are operator specific but I was able to get connection by using default settings except internet as connection point. Hopefully this helps.

  • pls tell me what's his memory?? could you set your video recording time or it's set by them only at 10 sec.? i mean how long could you record? do you know his price in Dubai? thanks very much ;)

  • Reading its options i thought it's the best mobile, and i really wanted to buy it even though i don't like Nokia generally, but i found out that it has been withdrawn from the market-Jordan- due to some software troubles, that also happened with the previous 5100... i had the older 5210 , it was very good, but then i think Nokia started going bad... concerning the 5th. series at least.... i hate Nokia... Siemens are the best... i have been using ME45 for 2years, it's just great

  • No, definitely WGS84 only according to Nokia website. They aren't going to produce special versions for localised markets.

  • Another thing regarding the US 5140 and US CC-70D: both units I received from nokiausa were the Hungarian built ones and not the Finnish ones. So it is possible that the UK CC-70D is Finnish made and may operate in WGS84 and/or Ordnance Survey Great Britain, but, I do not know.

  • Tried to make a call while GPS was engaged in the "Satellites" mode and I could not make a phone call, did not try it in any other GPS modes, as we both thought it would not make calls and it was too cold outside to run through them all. The US CC-70D is only WGS84, have no idea regarding UK, but, would assume that they are the same and only WGS84. No the phone does not have to be switched off to use the GPS. You only have to toggle through the menu to engage GPS function. First time start of GPS or when the unit (GPS) has not been active for 14+ days, Nokia states it may take up to 4 min. to link w/ the satellites. Cold start (over two hours since last using GPS) up to 2 min. and less than 2 hrs. approx. up to 15 sec. Though, I have found with cold starts, usual link is made within 15 sec. Accuracy is greatly affected by the # of satellites the unit links up with and the signal strength from the link to each. Obviously, the more satellites the unit links with and the better the strength of the signal, the better the geometry and thus a rather accurate reading of the units location.

  • So doesn't the phone have to be switched off before the GPS function can be used? Can it remain in standby?

  • It only does WGS84 latitude and longitude position format. That may be fine in many countries, but not for UK where Ordnance Survey Great Britain is used. This severely limits the appeal of this shell in the UK. Just want to make it clear so no-one wastes their cash thinking it will help them when using maps.

  • Would have no idea about operation in the UK, i.e. GB data, as I am in N. America. On and operating are seperate issues. Have not tried to use the GPS and make a phone call at the same time, so I too do not know, but, would assume that it does not because the GPS' antenna is at the mouth piece and on the side where a right handed person would hold while talking, if not using the loudspeaker function. I do not consider the unit to be the best GPS machine, but, as an add-on feature for the phone, I think it is cool to have. Just wish, Nokia would get the travel guide app. to function in my territory.

  • this is cool mobile :)

  • The poster wanted to know if it did GB data, ie OSGB. It doesn't. I haven't owned one and wouldn't - it's crap. And I think I am right when I say you can only operate the GPS shell OR the phone, not both at the same time.

  • What do you mean when you say, "..., you can't even have your phone on at the same time:" The GPS unit uses the phones battery, thus, the phone must be on to opperate the unit. Do you have the CC-70D? Did you have it at some point? Mapping for the UK is contained in the Europe region, of thr travel guide application (1 yr./region is bundled w/ unit). If you live in the EU, you should not have any problems with the phone/GPS units travel guide and you can order items from the www.softwaremarket.nokia.com site

  • Bet you'd find an eTrex yellow for that - _much_ better than this shell. And S/H or on eBay you surely would, perhaps one with mapping too. This is a very limited device. I mean, you can't even have your phone on at the same time: what good is that!?

  • But, can you buy real GPS for US $115.

  • No it doesn't show UK data. It's nothing but a waste of money. Buy a real GPSr instead.

  • Ref the GPS cover, does it show GB Ordnance Survey Grid refs or similar???

  • Received the GPS unit today. It does add some thinkness to the lower back portion of the shell and a little less than an ounce to the weight, other than that there are just minor differences with the shell that comes with the phone. The rubber is lessened on the the sides to allow better conduction for the GPS antenna, smaller rubber coverage on the bottom of the phone, and the keypad uses orange instead of white for the numbers. The unit can only act as a stand alone GPS at this time, the travel guide function is not operable at this time and nokiausa.com or Nokia Tech Support knew when it would be up and running. That was a main reason for the purchass of the shell so there is some disappointment that they released the unit without that feature working. Also, the site they list in the US User Guide to order additional regions (www.softwaremarket.nokis.com) does not sell to the US market. The GPS antenna also does not seem to work in the car, which could be a major hindrance when the travel guide kinks are worked through. Though it was rather overcast where I was today, so that may have affected reception in car. Outside the unit typically received between 4 and 7 sattelite links, though this would change rather rapidly and go under the 4 link threshold for marking a waypoint. As far as accuracy, stayed pretty true to the 30m statement by Nokia. Final judgement on the unit will have to be made after the travel guide feature is working though. If you are thinking of buying the unit for the travel guide feature, I suggest waiting until that is operable.

  • The GPS cover, CC-70D, is available now on the nokiausa.com site. Ordered it from their site for US$114.99 plus tax, so total cost is US$122. delivered.

  • Nah, bluetooth is probably too delicate for rugged use. It's the same with the fone display. A lot of idiots would rag about the 5140's screen because it's still the old CSTN compared to the newer TFT screens. Well, CSTN may have crappy resolution, but it's tougher than TFT. So it makes no sense for the 5140 to have an easily-breakable screen, that's why it uses CSTN. Besides, a lot of other phones may have Bluetooth, but launch them down a 5-meter drop and you'll see they're all sissies compared to the 5140.

  • Honestly they hyped up the phone 2 much it should pf have bluetooth as well. I mean some of the ringtones are SHIT and its a excellent reception other than that its probably keep it or buy tha 6230

  • Andrew, It depends on what you're looking for in a phone. Are you the outdoor type and are after durability in all conditions? Or do you want good images and impressive gaming graphics? If you're the former, and you don't want to worry about your phone getting damaged anytime you go outdoors, then get the 5140. Or if you prefer crisper images and a better screen resolution, then you should go for the K500.

  • hy i wanna buy a new phone and i have to choose between k500i and 5140. which is better?

  • how many pictures can it store? instant replies please

  • I had the phone sent away and it was a falty speaker...works fine now though it dosn't seam to be as loud as the older model...I'll try the EFR option to see if it improves....Also I can't buy the GPS cover yet...(AUS) Can't wait.....

  • Anyone know anything regarding the Express-On GPS shell for this phone? How well has it performed in trials? When in 1st Qtr. '05 will it be available in N. America? What will it cost?

  • Love the phone... BUT...I updated from the older 5210..The new phone is great except the sound quality...It seams to almost drop out if I move around while talking .also while driving I can't hear if I use the hands free that came with the phone ...It's just not loud enough...I never had this problem with the older model..

  • it is the best phone

  • 5140...... nice!!!

  • oki... thank you.. that's all i needed to know!

  • As far as I know, the IR is compatible with other phones. An officemate of mine was able to transfer a polytone to my phone via IR on his N-Gage. And then of course I was able to transfer images via IR to and from my wife's Tungsten T, which is a relatively old model.

  • i do have a question.. is the IR port compatible with other phones? cause there are some phones like 7250 or 7250i which transfer data through IR only to 7250/7250i.. anyone who can answer to my question? and quite fast..

  • Or infrared. I was able to transfer files from my phone to my wife's PDA using infrared, so it should be no big deal for a pocket PC, which you can then sync with a desktop PC. A bit tedious but it's the best I can come up with, since the Nokia software drivers don't seem to be working for Macs.

  • Failing more memory is there any way that you can get the pics and vids on to a mac or next best a PC? Cuz then it doesn't matter how much it has! Mabe a special cable would do it?

  • Phone is good exept memory.4mb is too litle.

  • Hey bhavin. Go for this mobile dear.Coming soon in Gujarat.Right now available in mumbai only. Lots of features in it. U cant believe. Just go through it. Regards Chirag

  • how can i get more memory for this nokia 5140 can anybody help pleasee

  • a great telephone:

  • Not as sucky as the 5100's keypad.

  • keypad sucks. difficult to key in. not recommended for sms

  • Anybody knows what to use with this phone as a car kit? Called Nokia Au today and they said that none is available. Keeping in mind that this toy doesn't have Bluetooth it looks like that I', stuffed for over long period of time. Nokia, you dissapointed me.

  • Ivan, as far as I know there are two versions of the black casing available for this phone; one is the conventional housing and the other is the one with GPS.

  • Does anybody know if a black panel is available for this phone? I heard there is one available but it includes GPS and is pretty expensive?

  • hmmm....this handphone looks cool, but anyway i still dun like;it sux on their display;u can get a better display phone then this nokia on about the same prices;and more over the bad thing about this phone is the camera. It is really pathetic and bad picture quality captured.I recoomend u not to but THIS phone.:)

  • You get 4MB of memory, which is fairly large for a phone of this size. However I hope that this can be expanded further with a firmware upgrade.

  • wts is the memory at thise phone ??

  • Interesting phone after the 6250 that I'm still using up to now. Just wondering when will it be available here in the philippines.. anyone kindly e mail me if you know someone selling these 5140s here in the philippines? THANKS!

  • The phone isn't waterproof, only water-resistant. There's a difference. The only true wateproof Nokia phone so far is the bulky 6250, and even then you can only submerge that phone for 1 minute maximum.

  • Is this phone waterproof? Someone told me that but I simply think it's impossible.

  • This phone is fantastic! I got it yesterday on contract and love the style and handling! the camera could be better but then again I didn't buy it fr that and I love video!

  • I have problem to send e-mail my phone nokia 5140 032476929738 the wap gprs thank you help pleasse Jessie Gabel

  • Hehe, i'm back with one more comment: the display is a friggin` 4096 colours because STN matrixes are much more tougher than TFT displays. So it would be kinda stupid to have a rugged phone with a fragile display. I don't think that nokia would be such a fool not to use a TFT if they could. Thanks for yer time. Correct me if i'm wrong :)

  • This phone is amazing. If i hade money i would by one right away. Thanks nokia, you are the best.

  • Cool phone. i've got it 3 months know.but, when U come to filling in a phone number and dialing there is no other way to know if U've got that nr.on phone mem, than to chek yorself in yo phone book. big lapse. and there is no lighter (im smoker) :)

  • Siemens may have 65K color screen, but it has limited features compared to 5140. Also, it's rather big in size, not very portable. And Siemens is notorious for having crappy software that freezes during use. I'd rather have a reliable Nokia 5140 than an unpredictable Siemens M65.

  • I would like to be a Ferrari! What went wrong? Damn Nokia designers!!!!

  • Video recording can be limited by the standard mms size (15 secs) or it can be set from the camera settings under the "Media" submenu to record clips as large as the phone's memory allows (until the memory fills up).

  • l love nokia

  • its a brilliant phone but the only problem is that it only has 18 secs of vidio recordin

  • 4K display its baad!!! try siemens M65

  • just ordered the 5140. And hope it is going to good and up for a bit of abuse. All of you that are moaning about colour and memory should buy a different phone and worry about it breaking or getting wet.

  • the phone is great, it is pretty much the only choice for the building trade

  • BTW, if you buy phones for the digital cameras, get yaself a friggin` cam dudes, it will do four times the job of a cellular phone. The phone camera is to share pics or quiclky take some shots of stuff you want to show someone.

  • Dudes, this phone is for people who like to go camping or who do those activities that a normal phone won't survive. I often go in the mountains and i always have to put my phone in a plastic bag so that the moisture wouldn't affect it, or the rain, i have to wear it around my neck so that it wouldn't bump against anything, and stuff like that. The nokia 5140 is built rough especially for those kinds of things. The screen fits the 4096 colors standards, and it is readable and pleasent to watch, imho. The cam is aiight, good to share some quick photos with friends or to immortalise a nice moment. What upsets me are the buttons on the last row, which tend to resist pressing a little, but the phone is new. Also the covers are a little difficult to take off. Overall, the phone is okay, the flashlight can light a room pretty good and that's ok when being in a tent or something like that or just want to take a shit in the forrest, the case is sturdy, water protection is good, ringtones are pleasent to hear (good implementation still too little voices), the speaker is handy, radio is okay. The shells are okay also, but they could be a little more polished. I've got one that's made in Hungary, not Finland, so that may be the cause of the less good qual finish. Buy it if you need it, not to show off. This is for the dickheads who commented about the functions. Yeah, i need a termometer to see just how cold it's outside, i need a flashlight and a compass. Aiight? :) Cheers.

  • My boyfriend just bought this phone. It is a good phone for him, as he works outdoors, but compared to my Samsung E800 & my old Samsung E700, the camera quality is shite!

  • HI I have an idea of buying this phone but i wanne know is it good compared to some other phones such as the 6230 and do you think its mdel will change soon>>

  • GPS feature is not network dependent, only by orbiting satellites under US control.

  • I'm thinking about buying this phone. GPS option looks great to me. Do you need support of your mobile operater for this option, or it will simply navigate by sattelite signal ?

  • no u are not normal because u have butter fingers :P only flip phones broke easy if u drop them...

  • So does this mean I'm not normal? :-) You forgot to mention people with butter fingers who tend to drop their phones quite frequently. They will also benefit from this unit since it's built tough. As for the GPS, I think you'd be better off with a separate receiver instead.

  • normal people don't need a water..resistant phone. Only people who walk around in the nature or are constuktion builder need this phone.. The GPS funktion is great. PS. good that this kind of phones or build thoug

  • It looks real cooooool.wanted to have this phone but was not available in the store.

  • i think better if this 5140 fuly water resistant, shock resistant, dust resistant, and have more aplication for outdoor needed. compare with siemens m65 and ericsson r250s pro ....... good.

  • when nokia 5140 coming in indonesia... and salary if i buy this phone cell ?

  • best fon ever

  • i just like the fon

  • lightbulb head or rather shithead i think you've said all you wanted to say now. everybody knows you were sexually assaulted as a kid and no one blames you for it, no need to take your anger out on other people who don't know what really happened to you. don't worry the bad man who sodomized you day and night during the last 10 years is already in jail. i know a psychiatrist who can help you out with therapy. there there lightbulb head time to take your medicine now....

  • Lightbulb head: You're wrong on three counts, sport. A. I have a wife B. Chief Medic already has a girlfriend C. I don't use a PC, I use a Macintosh. :-)

  • This website is simply unsuitable for further EDUCATED and INTELLIGENT exchange on the 5140, seeing how online idiots are posting meaningless garbage. In behalf of Peter/nokiapete, I'm reiterating this call to all Nokia 5140 owners, techheads and enthusiasts: join us in our discussion group at We'll see you all there!

  • Fundy Ruckspin: And you're obviously a figment of nobody's imagination. :-P

  • Douglas: I'm afraid I have the same problem too, but it's primarily due to the fact that my service provider is currently unable to support the 5140's GPRS settings. If your service provider has those settings, then half of your problem is solved. They should be able to activate those settings for your surfing pleasure.

  • This fone is great, but when i download a game or tone, it says theres no GPRS connection, help me!!!!!!

  • guess what pete.the phone aint gonna be destroyed.sorry i am not crazy enouph to swim with it,although it has crossed my mind.in the meantime i am also looking for a new car.audi a8 is too expensive for a nurse to preserve(a lot of fuel, expensive repairs etc.).i am gonna keep the siemens (who gives a fuck about prestige anyway)since it has proved tough enough.i will try again to join the group.damn.i hate computers.everything is so complicated.

  • Chief Medic, you can post to the group online instead of by email, but to join the group you will need an email address of some sort. However, this can be a Yahoo email account, (assuming you don't already have a Hotmail account which is similar) which you can easily set up when you activate your membership of the group. So you don't need an email program or anything - it's all possible by your internet connection just like this forum is. So you're definitely gonna destroy that poor little phone then...? Well, I look forward to hearing just how resistant to the salty water is proves! Any chance you can upload a picture when you've done, either onto my 5140 group of someplace else? As for a suitable replacement, I can't really think of any currently available model which would prove tough enough for yourself... Sorry! Any other suggestions anyone?

  • i tried to join the group peter but i see that it involves e-mail.the internet connection i use does not support e-mail.i will be on this forum if you want to ask me anything about the m65 in terms of comparison.by the way,i am expecting the ticket for overspeeding from day to day(actually it will go to my brother).and if you think i am ill,you are absolutely right(many of the patients and coleagues at the hospital believe the same thing).tomorow i will take the phone for a swim in the sea.to be honest i think i will change the m65 with new phone(n6230 or n7610 or s65).i may be just a nurse, but my supervising position requires some prestige.the yellow rubber around the m65 does not help in that factor.what do you suggest?

  • Wow, you obviously don't have speed cameras in your country then, Chief Medic! That was one heck of a test to do! And you've had that phone how long -- a month...? You are one brave (or ill) guy :-} Well, you (and your G/F) are more than welcome to join the group you know. It would be great to have someone with the '65 on the list so that we can compare our phones and ask each other questions. Consider it!

  • hallo guys.my car is not ready yet,but i conducted the test on another one(the jaguar xkr coupe of my brother).i performed the test on the same type of surface(concrete)but with a little higher speed(about 190km/h).shit,i work in a hospital so it will be easy for me to visit a phychiatrist.i say that cause i threw the m65 out of the window myself.when i picked it up i was still on,but it turned off on its own after a few seconds.there was no important external damage, apart from the scratches on the metal and the plastic.the phone seems to function properly up to know, although it turns off automatically a few times.it is still early to say whether or not it has survived the crush, since i will need a few days of use to judge it. peter, i dont think i should join the group, cause i dont own a 5140(although my g/f does).

  • I've actually had four Motorolas in the past, and with each newer model the user interface became more and more counter-intuitive and difficult to use. The V60i I have here is dreadful in this regard. Takes me ages to find many functions and as for SMS... :-(( Glad I didn't pay for it--wouldn't buy another Moto that's for sure. Having said that, the 5140 interface is bloated after the older Nokias I have been used to. Just sending SMS seems to take twice as many keystrokes as on my 5210. Looking forward to your tests, Chief Medic. BTW, have you joined my 5140 Yahoogroup yet? Just uploaded some screenshots of the 5140 Gadget Show tests I mentioned down this board.

  • Peter: You're not the only one saying how terrible Motorola is in terms of user-friendliness. I'm currently working for a television station, and I am aware how many of our field reporters were equipped with new Motorola camera phones for news gathering operations. They eventually brought up several complaints, all involving the interface of the unit, and they're currently requesting that these be replaced with easier to use models. Chief Medic: Well, I do hope you get your car back soon. I just got my own car myself last week, and I know how much of a hassle it is to go about without transport. Since you're in a better position to conduct such a test on both models, might we request you to so, maybe at an appropriate time? We'll be waiting for your evaluation. Thanks.

  • well the nokia interface has always been user friendly.the interface of the m65 is well understood by me as i have been a siemens user for years.somebody who buys a siemens for the first time will have many difficulties, since those phones are based on a strange file system.regarding the durability,i plan to run the 5140 test when i get my car back(remember gadgeteer,we discussed it previously).peter i believe no phone ,regardless the brandwould survive the fall.

  • it is so fantastic.

  • Yes, I'm in agreement with you there again Gadgeteer re the user interface on Nokia's being the best out there for ease of use. (You should try Moto's for an example in how not to do these things)! Sorry to hear about the damage, Chief Medic :-( Would the M65 have survived this fall do you think? Not sure if the Nokia would. It would be interesting indeed to see the two tested to destruction. But only in a scientific way of course. I have yet to see an M65 in the flesh so cannnot comment on which I think would 'win'.

  • Chief Medic: Yes, the 5140's rather small 128x128 pixel, 4096-color screen is quite a liability compared to larger screen phones out in the market today. Same thing with the memory capacity. But I guess another of Nokia's advantage would be user-friendliness. From my personal comparison of three brands, I found Nokia's interface easiest to use. Whether or not the M65's metal frame contributes to the phone's overall durability remains a question. Maybe someone would care to do an objective stress test to see which of the two is more rugged...?

  • well well...i made my first verdict about the two phones today.the m65 has a significantly low battery life(probably due to the larger screen)where the 5140 has no such problem.studying the structure of the phones i have seen that the m65 has better durability due to the metal frame which prevents the phone of cutting in half when bumping.unfortunately the m65 has software problems(gets stuck all the time).i believe that the m65 has just two advantages when compared to the 5140:the bigger screen and more memory(11mb instead of 4mb).anyways i didnt have the time to inspect the phones any further cause i was unlucky today.i had gone to pick up my girlfriend from the apartment she lives.while i was in a flower pot fell off the 5th floor balcony and landed onto the hood of my car which i had parked right below.gadgetter and peter do you know how much an a8 hood costs?

  • Hello to all. I've set up a Yahoo group for the 5140. Please do join, you are all most welcome. Let's get talking!

  • it's good

  • Chief Medic: That's great news, glad to hear it. At least your girlfriend's phone is working again. And it's good that you've already made up your mind about buying the M65; as long as you're comfortable with it, then it's fine. And let us know how you find the phone so far. :-)

  • I have had this phone for about a month now. It is a great phone. Very sturdy and takes knocks really well. I had the Ericsson R310 before this and this phone is a sturdy as the R310. I only swapped over because the battery of the ericsson finally died after almost 4 years. Also the size of the 5140 is much better than the R310. Overall a great phone.

  • hey m! let the people discuss will you?hallo guys.i am chief medic(gadgeteer should remember me).the 5140 of repaired and works again just fine.i have just bought the m65(gadgeteer the fall of the me45 from the choper guided me to this decision).i am ready to compare the phones and get in a discussion with you.is that ok?

  • Hehe! I often wonder about some people who seem to go out of their way to read stuff they obviously don't want to! Well, all I'll say is that if I was considering spending a considerable sum of money on a new model of phone, I'd appreciate some advice from people who already actually own one and know about it. Hence, a discussion forum such as this one would be kind of ideal. Does that help, M?

  • To M: Well, it would be nice if we were actually paid by Nokia for this :-) But no, we're not. I don't think they'd pay us considering that we still have certain criticisms about their product. Besides, all mobile phones have the potential to cause cancer, in varying degrees of risk. The best thing to do, in the case of units with internal antennas, is to use the handsfree accessories as much as possible, to keep the phone away from the head. And I rather think it's perfectly natural for us to be preoccupied with this 'thing'; after all, this is a review/discussion of the 5140, and we both own one, so guess what's the logical conclusion?

  • oh,shit!peter and gadgeteer are you paid by nokia to publish the phone.of course its none of my business, but dont you think you are occupied too much by this thing?considering cancer in the future, you should throw it away!

  • HCMREC, you can view samples of the video and picture capabilities on this websites' review of the 5140. Personally I find the picture quality rather poor, and the video quality even worse (this plays back as a very small image even when viewed at 100% your PC). But then, I was never expecting any better, and view any camera on a mobile phone as little more than a gimmick - a toy for the teenagers. I don't think we'll see high quality images from mobiles for some time yet. Buy a digital camera instead if you are at all interested in taking pictures. Even a 3.2 M pixel one like my Sony blows this away. The screen is good enough quality for viewing the menu screens, apps, etc. But almost ever review of this phone you will read will tell you it is poor compared to the newer alternatives out there. Just set the contrast down to two bars and it's OK though for what it is. And Gadgeteer, I see what you mean now regarding getting hold of your 5140! Well, I had the 'grandfather' to this one in the 5210. I loved the durability and practicality offered by the rubberised case, and its size and weight, and even now after I think two and a half years there isn't a mark on it. I did consider going for the 5100, but the looks never really appealed. But looking at the various newer phones recently, I was uninterested in pretty much all of them. They all go overboard on the gimmicks and nearly all are silverized and/or fliphones, which I don't like. And many new phones are actually as large as they were six or seven years ago! I don't call this progress. So when I heard about the 5140 late last year, I knew this was the one for me. I guess it will last me two to three years, more if no similar 'ruggedised' model is released in the future. I ain't going back to those shiny things!

  • this phone is awesome ay.. just one question about the quality of the camera and the video... also the screen 4k colors is good? is the quality of the photo and videos good? / desent..?

  • Agree on all points there, Peter, especially the camera's decent, at best, photos and videos compared to a dedicated digital camera (I own a Kodak CX6330 myself). I don't think I'd have much use for either the data cable or the software for now anyways. I haven't seen the real need to sync my address book on my hard drive to the handset, and besides, I'm using a Macintosh :-). Ditto for the PTT feature. They're still conducting field tests on selected carriers in Southeast Asia, so I doubt if this service would be arriving on my country anytime soon. At least I can take comfort in the fact that when it does finally arrive, my handset will be ready for it. And on Nokia's part, a little firmware upgrade certainly wouldn't hurt. As for my last sentence, it's fairly simple: finances and availability. I've been frustrated before when the Nokia 5100 came out, primarily because it wasn't meant for release in the Philippine market, and secondly the few grey market units that were available were simply beyond my budget. So I went absolutely nuts when the 5140 came out. Recently I got that long-awaited raise, so I set out to find whether the 5140 was available locally. I wasn't counting on it too much, until I chanced upon it in a store last month. And so ended my quest. I'm not getting another handset for the next ten years, haha.

  • Interesting points there, Gadgeteer. My main grumbles are already listed below, and are chiefly the poor contrast on the standby screen, and the non-user switchable stripy background to the menu screens. If I'm being fussy I'd also like to be able to switch off the screensaver entirely, instead of set it to its maximum 60 minutes... I only require basic telephone functions myself, so the games, apps, WAP etc, are superfluous to me anyway. Indeed, the camera I can well live without, and I would have purchased the 5140 had it not come with one. It is pretty poor anyway, if we are being honest isn't it? And the video function is pathetically poor in quality for any use I can think of. And you really need to upload the files onto a PC to view or use them. I have tried this, and the image quality is certainly poorer than the sample pictures shown in this sites review, for whatever reason. Doesn't really bother me though, and it might still prove useful for use one day in an emergency or something when I am not carrying my proper digital camera. The voice recorder is good, however, and I am more likely to use this function myself. I have IR on my laptop, so am making use of this function and don't need to buy a data cable :-). It works well too with Nokia PC suite software, enabling contacts to be backed-up, files, apps and pictures transferred, ringtones uploaded from MIDI files, etc. (It is a large download though, at 24MB IIRC). Mine hasn't switched itself off yet. I have experienced this problem on occasion on one or two previous phones including my 5210, which when this occurred always seemed to be in difficult rural areas within range of only the one base station, and possibly after coverage was lost. (Almost like the phone 'gave up' the idea of trying, and so turned off). On a similar note, I have briefly compared my 5140 with a Nokia 3310 on the same network (Orange, a UK 1800 PCN network). I have found the 'old' 3310 model still really takes some beating in terms of RF performance, and in rural areas I think it still has the slight edge over the 5140 in sensitivity and in speed of re-connecting to the network after loosing the signal. I noticed my 5140 took a good minute or so longer to re-connect after one dropout. I don't think this is cause for alarm though: the 5140 does seem perfectly sensitive. Call quality seems very good, even in low signal areas. The speakerphone works well too, though does distort a little at higher volumes (as it does when playing the ringtones at high volume). I don't think I would be able to hear it if I used it in the car, but it works fine elsewhere. I am looking forward to getting the chance to use the PTT feature, as this would be very useful to me should my network support it *and* make it cost effective. If they are greedy with their pricing I shall not bother. I am overall very happy with the 5140 and glad I bought it. It isn't perfect (what is?), but I reckon the main faults could be rectified by firmware updates. (Nokia are you reading this?). Perhaps you could explain your last sentence, that you once thought you'd never have the chance to own one? Why's that? Cheers.

  • Some grumbles that I'm learning to live with: - No concatenated SMS feature (although you can type the equivalent of three messages in one texting, the phone will still send it as three separate messages). - As mentioned, no settings for game sounds (and speaking of games, why does it have only one?) - Only 4mb of internal memory (although I've been told that this is in fact quite large for its class). - The phone shuts itself off occassionally for no apparent reason (usually happens if I don't carry it upright in my pocket, or if it falls upside down). - No WAV file capability (I've learned to compensate by using the phone's recorder to capture the "true sounds" I like). -No Bluetooth capability (this is rather trivial for me really, as I never cared for Bluetooth anyway). -No data cable included in the sales package (ditto for the software) -No WAP over GPRS/EDGE for now (this really isn't the phone's fault, since my lame telecom carrier says they don't have the WAP settings for my handset model as of yet). Still, the phone never fails to impress a lot of my friends (and even strangers). But more importantly, I'm very happy with it, considering that I once thought I'd never have the chance to own one.

  • ok.its all accepted.i havent watched the show, but reading your description made me a little suspicious about the tests.suspicious because they where a little "fancy".anyways,i am sorry if i have made you dissapointed and i hope the phone works as best as possible.may be myself will buy it(if my siemens m65 gets smashed).cheers.

  • Also, the show has been less-than-complimetary about several other products they have featured recently, all of which I assume they were paid to review by the manufacturers just like the 5140.

  • Colt, you are of course right to be suspicious of anything one sees on TV. (Or reads on the 'net also). I certainly am. However, without actually seeing the programme yourself I am sure you will accept that it would be wrong to dismiss the results out of hand. Unfortunately I cannot provide a link where you could view a stream of the show for yourself to make up your mind, as the company doesn't do this. The show tested the phone along with a Casio G-Sock watch and a 'builders' type tough yellow radio, all products designed to accept tougher-than-average use. The tests were indeed silly, but I have little doubt they were genuine as I see little reason for them to have faked the claims even if the manufacturers supplied them with the goods (which of course they probably did). The test which involved dragging the phone behind a car over a field I can certainly believe, as this was grass and not concrete, so the only damage likely was from vibration shock of moderate bouncing. The speed involved was moderate too, limiting the bounces to around a foot or so high, I am assuming. If my 5140 was a little older, I would indeed try the experiment myself, as I can see little chance of damage from such an act. The phone is pretty light in weight, and experience of my old 5210 suggests fairly low chance of damage from this specific sort of abuse. In fact, I bet many standard phones would pass this test. As for diving the phone for 2 minutes in a glass of water, well with respect this was never done. They, and we, probably knew the results that would have caused. Their test involved blasting it with water, which, whilst still over and above Nokia's water-resistance claims, was not the same as submersing the phone. The phone is not supposed for a moment to be heat resistant, so I found the 'grilling' test the silliest. However, I still accept they told the truth about giving it 5 minutes on the barbecue, judging by the damage to the watch, which showed a similar amount of melting, so I do believe their claim. I just wish TV would be a little more scientific about such things, and less dramatic. They would probably say this wouldn't be entertaining enough though wouldn't they..?

  • To Colt: Peter said the TV test was 'impressive'. I myself said that it was 'amusing'. But we never said anything about it being 'real'. Go read our previous posts before you comment.

  • gadgeteer and peter.if you see bradd pit getting shot on tv it doesnt mean he gets shot for real.nokia could have paid a lot for the publicity.i bet you both have cars.use a rope to drag the phone for 300ft.if you dont have cars, just dive the phone for 2min in a jag(not glass) of water.if it survives, place it a hot cooker for just 1min.and aswer to me back at this forum, telling me what happened.

  • I noticed the display, too. The standby screen on my old 3310 appeared to be much brighter. But then again, I figured that it was due to the color display technology itself, since I noticed the same thing on my wife's 6220 and my father-in-law's old 6610. The grey tint's effect on the screen is noticeable on the display in standby. I do wish, however, that Nokia included settings for the screen brightness as well. Oh, and also settings for turning down the game sounds. I still hear them even if my phone is on Silent mode. My guess is either the contrast can be adjusted on the phone so that the display quality matches that of the screensaver (haven't tried that really), or the screensaver was deliberately programmed to be more readable than the main display in standby mode, regardless of how much you adjust the contrast. I doubt if anyone else would have the time (or inclination) to subject their 5140s to the same tests as those in the Gadget Show (especially if replacement shells aren't available yet!), though it was amusing of them Englishmen to do so.Now I can't claim to know everything about this phone (since there are still a ton of features I haven't begun using yet), but in case you want to discuss this further, you can email me at the given address.

  • This phone was tested on the Gadget Show, a UK TV show shown yesterday, to see how well it would cope with abuse. They firstly put it inside a Dyson vaccuum and swept up for a while to ensure the phone would be covered in plenty of dust. It survived, (as you'd probably expect). Next, they then dragged it, on a rope, behind a 4*4 over a field. Still OK. The tests then got sillier (this is TV after all), and involved grilling the phone for 5 minutes on a barbeque, which it survived, with of course some melting of the case. It was then blasted with a high-pressure jet of water from a firemans hose for a good few seconds, sending it hurtling along the concrete. Surprisingly the water didn't seem to get inside the electronics and do damage. Finally, it was placed on the back of a pick-up truck which was exploded, and the flames then hosed down! After all this, they said the phone was still working perfectly, and demonstrated this by receiving and making calls. (Though the case was unsurprisingly in a pretty bad way). Not very scientific tests I grant you, but impressive nonetheless, and I doubt many other phones out there would have survived all this.

  • Thanks again. Now I'm not picking faults deliberately here you understand, I think the 5140 is good, but... can I ask what you think about the LCD contrast on the standby screen with no backlight? I find the screen difficult to read having been used to much clearer basic LCDs on older phones. There appears to be a grey tint to the screen which contrasts badly with the thin graphics displayed. Unfortunately, the contrast setting only seems to work on the illuminated display. I know the display is capable of better as the time displayed on the screensaver is much easier to read as the background is whiter. Perhaps we should set up a yahoogroup or something to discuss this model further?

  • I wanted to set a plain white background myself, similar to the 6610, but it seems that there are indeed no settings for this. It appears that the colored stripes are the default background for this model. It also appears that they correspond to whatever color scheme is chosen for the display. I'm wishing that future batches of the 5140 will include an option to set a plain background.

  • Is it possible to set a plain background on the menu screens instead of the coloured stripes? I find it distracting. I have switched off wallpaper but there seems to be no setting for this.

  • i am the unknown peter.if you think so thats fine with me.i am not impressed by moto either.

  • OK, thanks Gadgeteer. I'm sure I'll get used to it. It's just that my old 5210 had a much better keypad than this ones (apart from the backlight, which was much worse). And I don't like the top two selection keys which are difficult to locate quickly and press. I always catch the four-way scroll key accidentally. To unknown, I bought it because I haven't been impressed by Moto's, and wanted a replacement for my old 5210, which was an excellent phone despite what you will most likely say. Apart from the keypad, the 5140 is better.

  • To peter: I wouldn't know about everyone else, but the lowest keys on my unit certainly aren't difficult to press. A bit stiffer than the other keys, yes, but not that stiff. Have you tried using the tip of your fingernails to press them, since they can be too small for just the fingertips?

  • i find the whole phone awkward peter.why the fuck did you buy it?

  • Does anyone else find the lowest keys (*, 0, #) very stiff and awkward to press?

  • thats a good point gadgeteer.well,my me45 impressed me with its durability back then.and you sure are right, the software of siemens is flimpsy, but it is usually corrected after a couple of months through siemens careline.but it is good to have different opinions.no phone is perfect,no brand is perfect, you vote for nokia,i vote for siemens.

  • Well, CHIEF MEDIC, that's all well and good. But my opinion (and experience) dictates that Nokia is still the superior brand. I was eyeing the Siemens ME45 two years ago, but then a co-worker of mine had difficulties with his SL45. He had one hell of a headache having it repaired because the parts were so expensive and hard to find (the unit wasn't even physically abused in any way. Can you say "flimsy"?). in the end he figured it was cheaper to get a new phone instead and so he got himself a Nokia. Besides, how your girlfriend's Nokia 5140 got damaged while speeding (with both inertia and gravity working on the unit) is very different from a Siemens ME45 taking a mere vertical freefall from a helicopter (where gravity is the only factor). Try to reenact that 180km/h incident with a Siemens phone and you'll more or less get the same result. The use of all mobile phones, regardless of brand, entail a certain degree of care and common sense. Even a Nokia 6250, given a sufficient enough force, will still get damaged. While I am impressed by Nokia's claim that my 5140 is shock-resistant, I still heed the instruction on my user manual that says "rough handling can break internal circuit boards and fine mechanics". Just because a handset is advertised with a certain degree of durability doesn't automatically mean that we have the license to abuse and neglect it. Care should still be taken in its use. Well I do understand that your girlfriend's phone failed to give her her money's worth in terms of performance, but understand also that not everyone will necessarily have the same negative experience with their handsets. It's just a matter of opinion really. Nokia works for me, Siemens works for you.

  • i am sure none of you has tried the phone under real severe conditions as me.i was speedind over 180km/h in my car to go and help stop a crisis.this phone slipped of my girlfriends hand and bounced many times on the roadway.result:the cover in front of the screen broken.the screen itself is almost destroyed and generally the phone has a poor function.siemens phones offer greater durability.two years ago i was on a chopper.when it was taking off,at a height of about 10m(30ft) my siemens me45 fell of my pocket.my assistant got it and when i got back on the helipad he gave it to me.the phone was a 100% functional.so,stop praising nokia and see the truth.comraring this phone to siemens m65 is like comparing the toyota yaris of my girlfriend with my audi a8.

  • where do i find the 5140 red in Belgium? no mailorder, just a store!

  • Got this phone in the Philippines for $322USD, and I must say the thing is worth every cent, at least for me. I'm a rather fast learner when it comes to gadgets, but this thing's got more features than Inspector Gadget, certainly more than enough to keep me busy fiddling with it (it's been almost a week and I still keep discovering a cool function or two!). Unknown: the phone lights up superbly in the dark, the characters are easy to read with more or less an even backlight illumination. I've been able to use the flashlight feature inside the moviehouse. Everyone, be advised that the phone shown on this website's gallery is only a prototype, which explains why the rubber keymat is somewhat translucent and therefore has an uneven illumination. My 5140 is exactly the same color as the phone shown here, but since it's already the production version, the keymat is opaque which forces more light to shine through the characters, making them even more visible in the dark.

  • i buy it and i try it well...it's so amazing..i use naw 9210 and 5140 really that 5140 iz an amazing mobile specially for ppl who likes sport...

  • Sorry, it was 3 months insurance. It's a con anyhow.

  • AVOID directprepayphones.co.uk. If you don't sign over all your bank details for 'free 6 months insurance' they charge you 100 more!!! There is something fishy there. Too cheap to be true @ 139.

  • Nicola...do you know the difference between water proof & water resistant? The phone is water proof!...splash resistant! do no submerge the whole phone in water...I guess it pays to read the instructions Tell nokia about what happened...they will laugh...tell you bad luck...your fault and think what you did was really stupid...like I do Bam your right the GPS should come inbuilt without extra costs....but hey you picked the phone up for only $290 so an extra $150 still makes it cheaper than retail pal! Goodluck if something goes wrong with the phone....at the price you reackon u paid I would be suprised if they honour the warranty NO CENSORSHIP...thanks for the info :) Jay...what feature does your lady like best? The torch(handy for dark spots), the moisture proof qualities (never know where the phone could end up) or the call vibration? PS...you meant she loves the phone right?

  • my girlfriend loves it

  • if that gps shell is 150 aus that is a serious rip off if should come with the dam phone , god nokia is a tight ass company, im mean who buys all the seperate items for all their phones?? its a joke

  • I put this phone in the water to test the temperature and now my phone wont work it just comes up saying contact service what does that mean??Im glad i have a water proof phone and it didnt wreck it!!!Id be devistated!!

  • 1. The 5140 has a 4k color screen. That's it. It's not 65k colors. 2. It should go for no more than $350 USD because of it's outdated technology, although I'm sure Nokia will try to hype it. 3. The CC70-D GPS shell will be approx $150 USD. However, you can't use the phone and the GPS at the same time. It's one or the other as it completely replaces the top half of the phone, making the handset otherwise useless. 4. This phone does not exist yet outside of certain areas. It's release date has been continually pushed back, due to working the GPS shell in seamlessly (it was originally supposed to be part of the phone, but they decided at the last minute to make it an add-on, hence why it has a seperate shell). 5. This phone would have been a hot item a year ago. It's nothing but a 5100 with a compass. If anyone pays more than $250 for it in this day and age when there's things like Samsungs and Motorolas with 65k screens and better camera quality, then you are a ... and deserve beatings. ____________________________ NO CENSORSHIP

  • yey noname that comment could have something to do with me but i agree with the big screen and tv comment well called for from dirrrman

  • I like this phone and what was really interesting was to read all your comments. I like those people who want more colors and bigger display but i think that what they really need is a fukin tv :) and i think no one forces u to buy it, it is just a phone which was made for a certain segment of the market, that considered that the things this phone provides fits the needs of it ... So I really expected more rigurous and well argumented opinions not some cheap bullshit that some got to say.

  • good

  • and quit the dirrrrrr. It doesn't suit you. Hahahahahahaha

  • cos i'm not nosy and i'm aware that the world moves on!!! ey pea brain!!!! now who's dumb??? hahahaha

  • its a trademans phone idiot they couldnt give a shit about the screen quality they want it to ring and answer thats all dirrrr!!!!!!!!!!! get a life you geek it's always wise to watch ur tongue

  • 5140 is like a universal device, with Digital compass, GPS (enhancement), Flashlight, Thermometer, Decibelmeter, Fitness Coach, Camera, "Push to Talk", WAP 2.0, and all the usuall Nokia features. To all of you who hate the red color, you can get it in blue too. Great phone, I'm getting this one!

  • Rock on Tommy! Im gonna get 1 asap!

  • What is cost of nokia 5140

  • ok, thing is, why doesn't Nokia try to produce something better than this shit? I mean, it couldn't be hard to work with Samsung or Motorola or even get some ideas from KTF (Korea). How come Nokia is so OLD AND UGLY???? It's the name, and the name only. So all you people who know nothin about phones, NOKIA is ripping you off. Expensive and Nothing behind it. Wanna get good quality and good performance? Try LG, Motorola or NEC, get some value for money!!! Nokia sounds good, but really isn't! cheers yall,

  • Its the EVIL brother of 5210!!!

  • looks like the 5210... good features but 64 kb for java apps? thats too small for me

  • This phone will be available in Australia around May/June

  • Nokia 5410 will arrive in Indonesia soon !!! (May-June 2004) with PoC (Push To Talk), Because Telkomsel and Indosat Indonesia will release PoC service soon !!!

  • NOKIA are all the same, the 7250 7210 6610 all the same phone with diff key layouts, u can fit all housings of the above on the other models above and what do u know they fit appart from the keys, n some software changes, 5510 is a 3310 layed on its side, 5210 if u take the rubber housing away is based on a 8210 try something new nokia, dont con people with the same phone. all above is in my opinion. DH in the United kingdom i myself do own a nokia but soon when upgrade time arrives im moving to another companys phone

  • When is it being released in Australia?

  • Is this a GPS phone?

  • only 1mb shared memory.definite drawback.so there is no use of vga camera or video.cause almost nothing can be stored.otherwise smart phone.

  • wow !!!

  • i like nokia mobile phone because it is practical and durable, also it's reception is superior.

  • reminds me of the devil

  • I hate red, it reminds me of blood...

  • Very-very good Handphone, when soft opening ?

  • Faster tell me when this Nokia5140 will be release ? Which months of 2004 ? Will it Be Release in Malaysia ? i don care it 4096 or 65k colour . Samsung No use ..Quite Big also and the antenna . SEnd email to me , when u know the phone is release ? ...i need it .

  • it's really a great phone unfortunatly i read on the nokia forum website that it has only 1 mb of shared memory whis is too small for a 640x480 resolution and a video recorder, other wise the camera is great it has a 4 mm lens which is better than 3660 and 6600 3.5 mm and all people are saying that there is no diff bet a 4k and 65k except more battery consuming

  • What date that the nokia 5140 available? And how much the price? Please reply because I am interested to buy the nokia 5140 because it is very nice cellphone. Thanks...

  • fiend!!!!!!!!!! you said it in one

  • Man...you people are wacked! Why do you keep on bothering everybody with you 65k color screens and samsung and stuff, when you can't even use the ir with a samsung? why implement ir in a phone when it's unusable(except pc kits maybe)!for me(and i think im speaking for a lot of people here)it's not the screen that matters, it's the looks or the technology!i have a 3650 now and the pictures look really good(unlike on samsung 65k screens),and they are usable!also where can you find another phone with video recorder? So shut the **** up with you nonsense!i don't actually like nokia but i respect them for their good quality phones!

  • The nokia 5140 is really a great phone and the look's of it is really great and according to me i feel it has really great feature's.

  • smart dude @ rocketmail.com ultra intelligent are u like lost??? "sensative modern man" "whos not afraid to express his femine side" what the ****!!!

  • the phone looks great. i cant wait for it to come out so i can buy it. hopefully it wont be too expensive.

  • Hmm.. Nokia5140.. nice look but only 4096 colors... for a VGA camera.. not to many.. in rest it is Kool :)

  • This phone is so cool because it's mauve and red! Perfect for the sensitive modern man who's not afraid to express his feminine side! But only guys who look good in the thong should get this phone. Like, seriously, man.

  • u all should go to0 hell i love this phone. so what 4096 colour i dont need 65000 colour it just eats yur battery.

  • this is a blokes phone do u think they really care about the quality and resolution of the screen they want it to answer and ring dirrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!!!!!!

  • when is this phone coming out please answer my question nokia

  • this h/p is gud enough 4 adventurous person/boy scouts..but just 2 comment its size n the 4k colors otherwise I'd give 10/10...tq

  • cool,perfect phone

  • This is the best phone made.Until now Nokia is the leader becouse represents Quality.I`ve had a lot of phones and of all i think this will satisfye me,no one can say that this phone doesn`t look good or that it doesn`t have anything.Bluetooth is just a plus battery dryer,i don`t need it.Now i have a SE P800 and i wanna sell it to buy this phone. It`s almost perfect,If it just put in it the 6310i battery.Anyway is very good looking and filled whit good features.I hope the price will not go furder than 400 Euro.I`m from Romania.Arad

  • they still give me that shitty 4096 color passive matrix display !!!!!!!!! where is 65k like 6600, 7600, or 6230?!?!??!

  • bestial frumos good look

  • Hey Nokia, I'm very surprised. 4096 colours, that's great for you! Is this your best display? But I remember you, all other phone producers have 65000 colour displays!!

  • Will this one have an exploding battery as well?

  • Hmmm...too pore.No 65k screen, and it's one of the latest phones from Nokia.Nokia doesn't know to make good colourful screens, for example like samsung.

  • Nokia guys, Have you guys tired of those NOKIA phones???? Pay more for same features again...again....again.......Zzzzz...zzz....ZZZZ ZZZZZZZ.........WAKE UP!!!!! Go for SAMSUNG OR SONY ERICSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • All you BS samsung gays should get a life and go bother your mummies for money for icecream.

  • red is too aggressive

  • hy people!!!can you tell me the price of this nice phone???please!!!

  • It has very important features. looks like very nice. Actually I like to know the prises about that phone. Thanks. Dhanesh.

  • this phone is so cool! I bought 3 of them already!! I bought it for S$400! Great buy for all you guys who likes to be around girls!!

  • What more do you want?

  • Poor update of 5100. Not good enough Nokia you lazy twats.

  • I want to buy it . price ?. In Vietnam

  • I can't see a big difference between that and 5210.I had 5210 and i am really bored of it

  • it is something very very very nice and no other company can do like or follow the prfect NOKIA

  • looks like a really nice fone, i will be getting one in a while,

  • I really tink dat nokia better fix the battery problems as after 6 months you will see fuuny stuff happening! ... and also the phones tend to freeze when performing even simple tasks like writing a msg.

  • What is the use of the thermometer function??? Is it mean by put the handset into your mouth?? Or lick the screen to measure the temperature. Another useless function from Nokia

  • i want to buy this phone so that it can be ship to the address for my uncle to send to his son in nigeria

  • the device is good but the price will affect more then the impression !

  • Man Nokia always makes phones with 4096 colour res. Why cant they do more? I mean, GX20 has 260,000 colour res... If Nokia cna fix that and the ringtones then I'd buy them

  • How wonderfull shape, I want to grip that with my own hand soon. It's could be more powerfull, if 5140 type features also included some kind like comunicator technologies.

  • Did they? I've seen only few

  • The one below me. I think the one below you may have referring to the picture quality once it has been transferred to a pc/pda/whatever. The screens on series 40 handsets do leave a little bit to be desired but they are improving rapidly. Nokia cameras are all VGA so you can expect a fairly decent photo. I fail to understand why everything on this site has to resort to hysterical argument over which manufacturer is 'best'. It's incredibly childish.

  • the one below me.... hey.. i dont think so.. so what even if its a VGA Camera phone? Your not answering the question. Okay.. lets take a comparision... 5140(only 4096colors) ... and a V200 or GD88 with 65k TFT resolutions' video ..what do u think? There will be a great difference. Okay, u can see what is in the image for 5140 but compared in clarity to v200 or gd88, 5140 flunked. for V200 and GD88 the image will be CRYSTAL-CLEAR. For 5140, u will see blur-vision. What for u take a picture that is blur...

  • the quality on the camera wont be that bad even though it has 4096 colors its a vga camera

  • c r a p r u b b e r d e s i g n....

  • i have a 5100 ... but in fact i regret buying it.. and now ...nokia keep flooding phones.. and i see a 2nd version of 5100.. grr... hate nokia. PS: THIS PHONE HAS 4096 COLORS. WHICH MEANS IT WONT DISPLAY GOOD COLOUR EFFECT OF PHOTOS. USELESS ..........

  • another crap from NOKIA. fetures seem to be gud though

  • hamad, have you ever heard of Covers that you can change. Take black and it will become a mans phone. Why is everyone always complaining about 4k colour... It is a PHONE not an computer. For the P800/P900 or communicator it is usefull, but nokia phones have 128 by 128 screens... I am still hoping for a Nokia with MP3 and nothing els.. (SD)

  • baaaaad a girl mobile

  • The new 5140 is a follow up on 5100 with almost the same features but with integrated camera, its trendy and fully loaded, when is NOKIA gonna stop,I'm still waiting for a nokia brand with integrated olympic size swimming pool, maybe then they'll stop but for noe the thrill continues!

  • almost everything except Bluetooth... I guest nokia is targeting the youth again on this phone... for working people and geeks you would want a BT support, anyway it looks cool, wonder what will be the price

  • 4K colors :( definate drawback otherwise quite similar in functions to 3200 shape and looks much better plus video and IR. still why on earth nokia still sticks with 4096 and STN screens. learn something from samsung true is 2 years old what a shame . anyhow great phone

  • nice phone pls let me know the price of it

  • this is a damn tight fone dus eny1 hve an idea on the price wen it comes out?

  • WOW....this phone is really impresive

  • Damn it! Nokia always makes ALMOST perfect phones. This phone will be on the market in 2Q 2004, but display has only 4096colors. why not 64K?

  • quite good

  • Ugly... I don't like it... 6230 is still the best !

  • samsung e700 & v200 are still the best! nokia is ok too.=)

  • Really like this one... finally Nokia is making some good models. Any ideas how much memory it has?

  • cool...i think this one better than 5100, if i have some money left, im going to get this 1

  • I'm the third!!! Nokia is the best!!! When this phone will reach in Brazil??? Never!!! :oP A vendedores do mercado livre ... olhem para esse novo produto!!! rpido!!!

  • Nice phone! It has everything inside, except knife and tuna fish:)!

  • o wow! im first 2 comment! gr8 fone like 5210 (my fone) wit camera-WOW!
