  • I bought this tab last 2017 (USA model), well its ok for low working environment. With this low RAM lags are appearing everywhere whether switching between apps or opening. At restart only 500+MB or ram are available, and running android 7.0 which eats a lot of ram

  • I have one and it's working just fine. Obviously with that little RAM and processing power you wouldn't want to play serious games are go heavy on the apps with it. Try only using lightweight apps on it and it should be okay.

  • Indeed fine for netflix, prime video and watching 720p movies but external speakers are must since the speaker is just pathetic. Even simple web browsing is painful because of the crippled processer and RAM. I also use for Reading Ebooks.

  • Android is dramaticaly more intuitive than any version of apple systems, and the wider selection of android apps speaks for itself... the keyboards in android are much more functional and less buggy than apple - yes - apple's keyboard-app is buggy indeed... the android I got is about ONE-SIXTH the price of a comparable ipad... consider all that that implies....

  • One major different is the processor. The USA/Canada model uses a Qualcomm CPU and has been upgraded through Lollipop, Marshmallow, and Nougat. The EU model uses a Spreadtrum CPU and is stuck on KitKat.

  • I really struggle using this. Internet browsing is slow. Using it for anything other than predownloading documents is tiresome. PDF downloads have black unreadable pages. Using email is difficult and has me yelling at it. Often have to switch to my iPhone to get jobs done. Really hate it and as soon as I can afford an iPad will be throwing this in the bin.

  • There are two version one (EU Model) is stuck on 4.4.4 and it is still being sold (and costs more than most other models from Acer, Asus, Huawei and Lenovo which all have a better specification) ... there will be no upgrade to this model. Dont waste you money on the outdated samsumg model being sold in the EU.

  • This tab is such a waste. Works well after purchasing for around 6 months & afterwards start to lag or slow down. Samsung cheap products are totally cheap, worst tablet seen. Instead spend some more money and buy an ipad 6th generation which is useful and can be used for more than 3 years.

  • This is a very good table, BUT, it runs on android 4.4.4. It so out of date, as to be useless. The latest apps are incompatible. For the same money, you can buy an up to date model, as long as it's not samsung, who really do not care about there customers once you've bought the product.

  • Guys, how do you use skype or viber with your wired headphones? When I do smth and use headphones, I change the sound volume with the help of volume buttons on the side! But when I speak skype IN HEADPHONES the sound is soooo loud and I can not reduce it! It shows the line on the screen changes it, but physicly the sound wont change!

  • Had mine since 2016. Great tablet for watching! Movies, documentaries, Game of Thrones, Anime, cartoons, this tablet does them justice on a mobile platform. Viewing angles are great, a very long lasting battery (mine lasts up to 5 days with 1-2 hour usage per day at 70% brightness). And that 16:10 aspect ratio?! Perfect. If you are a fan of watching videos, this is the tablet for you. The only bad thing with this tablet is its weight. It's very very very heavy. Don't use this like you would other tablets, wherein you're just holding them at your palm. You need an inclined rest for this.

  • I need to set the record straight on this tablet. First, it has a 7200 mAh battery (not 5000 as shown) which, when combined with modest specs (lower res screen and slower processor) and the nougat update (7.1.1) makes for one of the longest lasting tablets I have ever owned. I am willing to give up processing power and resolution if it means I can watch four movies on a plane and arrive at my destination with 50% battery left. Those modest specs means this is not a great gaming tablet or something you want to use to stream to your smart TV. What it is ideal for is something small enough to easy pack with a big enough screen to get some work done (I use google apps) and watch some shows to relax. Pros for me: Long battery life, nice size screen, good OS and not much bloatware from Samsung. Cons for me: poor speaker. some stuttering in performance under high demand (close apps).

  • EZCast wifi Check this out and ask in shop if it works for normal TV or ONLY SMART TV. you need to load app from EZCast..on your device. there are also cables. but EZCast works wireless . so you don t have cables around. Just stick in HDMI of your TV . abolad the EZCast APP on your phone. but you need to ask the expert of a shop if your phone is compatible with this app. cheaper phones usually do not. .cost about 28 USD. best is you go to a shop and talk to the expert.

  • Wife gave me this for xmas 2016. Great gift ! The good: doesnt freeze or lag. No problems so far. Battery seems decent. Wi-fi is withing normal range. No porblems connecting to wi-fi,bluetooth accesories... basicly it just works ok. The bad:sound is absolutley terrible. Screen is not bright enough for outdoor use even in cloudy weather. Camera is terrible also, but i dont really use it anyways. Very very heavy.

  • Your tablet should be the SM-T560NU.

  • Tab E (exceptions are SM-T560NU, SM-T567, SM-T375 and SM-T377), Tab J, J1, J2, J3 are usually devices that were not designed to receive Android updates. If your device ships Mediatek or Spreadtrum chipset, the chances of not getting Android updates are also great.

  • Simple. If yours is the SM-T560NU or the SM-T567, it is the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset model. It should already be on Android Marshmallow, it has 16GB of internal storage and 7300mAh of battery. If yours is not those two, it certainly is the Spreadtrum chipset model. Certainly also it will be with Android 4.4.4 KitKat.

  • Those unlucky people like me, please be aware that there are 2 versions for this tab. One snapdragon us version and other one spreadtrum. Snapdragon verson upgraded to 6.0.1. Spreadtrum version struck at 4.4.4 and there will be no further updates.

  • Hi...by now you probably have it figured out....but if not...go to settings about device ...look at software information click on it there should be software update option...read my other comments on how to get the latest update...you can also just Google it ...type in the whole name brand like Samsung Galaxy Tab E with how to update the software...you will find all kinds of information about your tablet...even videos that will show you how to do it. You could also go straight to samsung website ...but probably better off with my first suggestion...My complaint I have is the have the nerve to offer the manual for the device and say it's unavailable in my language ( which is English lmao) and I do believe it says that in every language....which is pretty pathetic for a large company!!!! Why even add the option if it's not available. Anyways, Google is your best method for the help you need. You will figure it out eventually if you haven't already ;)

  • Just update your device...I think it's under "about this device" or click on settings and look and find search and just type in software update. Maybe you have the permission turn off ...there are many ways to get around in the tablet....sometimes I get lost lol...you think something of this size wouldn't be able to do some of the things that are available. It actually works for you and you have the ability to block every application and it may be blocked by the system default settings from the factory. I can't remember off the top of my head, but go on google to check how to update your tablet and be sure to specify the name of device like "how do I update the software on my Samsung Galaxy Tab E......" Hope this helps and just keep searching and you will love this tablet!!!

  • If you got it for free why are you complaining? The reason why you are not happy is because you didn't purchase it for your specific needs. The design is suitable for the ones who purchased it, because we checked out all options and compatibility for our needs. If you wanted a compass and the other things you mentioned like the gaming issues etc... You would most likely look for a tablet or device that suits your needs. You shouldn't post a bad review based on your own needs, and the fact you didn't purchase it...they gave you the device for free...I wouldn't complain about something that was free on their own website...that's ungrateful for one...but most importantly; I'm glad you actually stated you getting it for free....complain to someone is fine but not on the company reviews when it was a free handout. Sell it and put it towards something that has what you are looking for 😊😉

  • I think you can buy a cord that converts your device to hdmi...from charger Port same cord we use to charge tablet but with hdmi on other end. Check it out...just trying to help

  • This tablet is pretty flexible and very reliable. I stream on it all the time. Mirroring to the TV is only issue I have once in a while (probably not the tablet, but the stream provider) the tablet doesn't work very well to touch and navigate to fast forward the stream. I get awesome stream directly from this tablet. The quality of this tablet is like watching a small TV with the same options as a mini computer. I love it!! I highly recommend this tablet!!!! It's worth the price for this device!!!

  • I got my tab e for Christmas and I've been using an iPad for the past few years. Im not gonna lie and say it's better because it is not. But as far as streaming goes I use VuDu Netflix Amazon watch the news YouTube videos and never have any issues. My only issue with this tab is the dang speaker! It's really in a bad place but managed to work around it. But all around I would give it 8 out of 10. Hope this helps

  • That's your own fault for loading free apps. Go into notifications, and disable everything except what you really want. Delete any apps that keep pestering you.

  • This tablet is slow. It has a hard time keeping up with the free x-wing game. It also does not have an internal compass (magnetometer), which makes it useless for astronomy apps, and it's missing other sensors which make it incompatible with certain games. I got this tab for "free" for adding additional lines to my account. The catch: you have to pay for the wireless charges for 2 years. I got it, primarily to use for astronomy out in the field. By the time I realized it was useless for that task, it was too late to return it. Other complaints: tinny single speaker located in a bad spot in back. You'll cover it with your hand playing games, plus hard to hear depending on the surface it's on. No fast charging. Pros: screen is clear and bright. Easy to hold in one hand for reading.

  • Samsung are only interested in sales, so if you want an upgrade you need to buy a new one. Having owned several Samsung Tabs over the last few years, virtually no upgrades on any (Tab 3 V, Tab 2, Tab A 2016 and E), phones are the same J5, J1 nothing at all, solution is move to another provider.

The Tab E 9.6 gives excellent battery life for a very large screen. It's a reader, not a Cray 5. By dumping all the extra sensors and keeping the features that an e-reader ought to have, Samsung had turned out a very good device. I'm not particularly fond of Samsung devices, but this Nook is well designed.

  • This opinion is an update to the last one i posted. My model is the T-561m 3G. Before i noticed there was soom lag in chrome when scrolling through desktop versions of websites, this has been fixed by an update to chrome. There has been 4 updates so far but they have all been bug fixes (battery has gotten better btw). Apparently the models that have the Spreadtrum chipset will probably never see an update to lollipop or marshmallow. But the US model (with the snapdragon 410) might, especially since the 8 inch version has already been updated to 6.0.

  • You can connect your Tab to your TV with an HDMI cable. A better option is to buy a Chromecast HDMI adapter and "cast' video from your Tab to your TV. I cast Netflix and YouTube almost every day from my Chromebook (Chrome O/S) or my Nexus 5 (Android 6.01). The advantage with Chromecast is that you still have your tablet available for multi-tasking, rather than having it tethered 6' or 10' away from the TV. Hope that was clear, happy computing..

  • Sometimes power saving options lead to this. Try to disable saving and turn on wifi and then turn on power saving again. Try to stay near wifi router when turning wifi on. Try to this universal trick 1. Turn on flight/airplane mode. Power off tablet. Stay 1 minite off. Turn on again. Turn flight/aeroplane mode off. Try it hope you will get out of your issue.   • It's not even worth half it's asking price. Here in UK it's on 'offer' at £139, Alcatel pixi 3 10 tab, almost identical specs, but better screen free Bluetooth keyboard and case sells for £79! Have both side by side...pixi brighter, better colours more vivid...it's faster, and does not get so not. It's a no brainer the competitors have this junk beaten...

  • Firstly, it's got a poor screen...very poor. Low res with evident light bleed. Build quality very sturdy, but has so many faults can only recommend not buying. Capacitive buttons too easy to accidentally press during games. Very sluggish and only Android 4.4.4 even now! Lenovo which used to be poor like this have made leaps and bounds recently in quality. Even the Alcatel pixi 3 10 tab which costs exactly HALF the price is a lot better...brighter more vivid screen, later o/s and faster. Will be returning this horrid Samsung mistake!

  • I've had this tablet for 5 months now, here's what I can tell you. I have the SM-T561M model, with 3G running Android KitKat 4.4.4. This model uses a chip made by Spreadtrum, but US models have the Snapdragon 410. I got it for roughly US$ 180. Times I've noticed lag: when downloading something to the SD card (might be because the card sucks), when running a Launcher (tried Nova and Google now, both lagged a bit) and when opening the desktop version of a site in chrome (scrolling becomes laggy). Other then that, I haven't noticed any major slowdown. It can makes calls, send sms messages and has Samsung's multi-window (great for watching YouTube while web surfing). The ram consumption sits around 800mb of the available 1,5gb. 1080p video playback is choppy so I'd say stick to 720p. Games run great, my model has a Mali-400 MP4 dual-core gpu. Modern combat 5, NOVA 3, Dead Trigger, GTA 3 & San Andreas, AVP evolution all run fine. Its a tablet for someone who isn't super picky about performance and wants a bigger screen (personally I bought it because of the multi-window and low price). Hope this helps =) PS: You get 4.98gb of the 8gb storage.

  • This is a bad decision financially. It's thicker and heavier than similar Samsung tablets, only offers 1280x800 resolution at 9.6" for a whopping $230 for the smallest capacity. Granted, you can add cards. If you're looking for a better deal, the 8" Galaxy Tab 8 with 16GB on board and near identical specs (with 4:3 aspect and 1024x768, a slightly lower resolution) is a much thinner tablet, much lighter, and costs about $60 less, while graphically outperforming the E by quite a bit.

  • You should tap home button+volume up button +power button and after that a screen will come saying :Reboot device (an option) (another option) Wipe your data /factory reset... first reboot your device and if the tab doesn't fix .. Repeat the option and then you should go for the factory reset and then reboot device. This is how i fixed my MpMAN mpqrs 997ips ...Hope it helps you :) .

I had same prob with my Azuz pad, in the begining I had to wait unil the batteri was drainded out, then start again(if stuck etc) now its better : I just hold the start button in untill it restarts, I also downloaded cleaners for Android, it helped.   • I'm reading alot of thes comments about the Tab E and it's - "it's the worst" "its barely does anything" "I don't like it, because it doesn't do this or that". People...Its a tablet, it's not a super computer from Nasa, it sounds like if you can't hack the the FBI then it's not good enough. This tablet is perfect, the only flaw is the speaker it kinda sux. Other then that it's fine. Good resolution, the battery is fine if you charge it properly and avoid making memories on the battery etc. I fully recommend this tablet to anyone.   • Had my tab e a month ago its white and, so far it's great resolution is good, the battery is great! It's full charged and after playing Cytus for about 10 mins the battery remained 100%. Lol it's otg ready too, nice. But the camera sucks and the memory creeps me out. I dont know if there are hidden apps but the int,memory is pretty occupied. It's good with watching movies because of the wide screen. It's heavy and I get back aches when ever I brought it to school. Had some issues with some other apps, when installed it keeps crashing. videoplayer can't play other formats. Speakers are good. Mic is great. way Better than my cell phone Alcatel One touch.   • Hi...I've had my My Tab E for about 5mnths now and it's been working great for me, until yesterday :-( I normally activate the battery power save mode when Tab is not in use...when I disabled it(as I normally do), my screen went black...so, I pressed the power button (thinking that the tab was off). When the options, power off, restart etc. came on. I then decided to restart. It rebooted & the Samsung logo appeared and didn't disappear in order for desktop to come on. Thus, the Samsung logo is still on the screen and there are tiny shooting dots coming out from behind the logo. Nothing else happens...no touch screen etc. I am totally at my wits end! Even tried pressing power button and volume button simultaneously for a couple of seconds for it to reboot...No luck, the result is the same! Please Help.

  • If you are going to just surf internet, play movies/songs, email, facebook, etc... just go for it... If you want to play powerful games, multitasking, use it as primary device for reading e-books... don't go for it.. The CPU is under powered & the screen has very low PPI & might affect you reading experience..

I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 9.6 Wi-Fi (SM-T560) which is still in Android 4.4.4 KitKat although an intermediary tablet released 2015, June (with Lollipop already rolling) and had another member of the cast line in January 2016, the Galaxy Tab and 8.0 (SM-T375 (Wi-Fi) and SM-T377 (4G)) already with the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. My model even is expected to upgrade to another version of Android, indicating that eleficará stuck in the current version (as many devices from Samsung, as usual) The last bug fix and optimization update was in November 2015 and was second only to update it (remembering that "porcariazinha" Galaxy Pocket 2 received 9 patch updates and remained stuck in 4.4.2). It is about a problem that will portray here in the forum. I do not know if it is widespread or just my unit being affected, but the tablet when you leave it on the battery until it behaves well. However, when we settle off the device, if by chance the tablet is 60% or less of battery and it is a few hours off, when I decide to turn it back on here is the surprise: The tablet does not start. Assuming that is the battery, put the socket and what do I find? The battery was zeroed, empty. That's right, it drains off the same battery. They are 5000mAh and more than half fades soon be connected to each percent falls at an acceptable pace.   • It is well spent for the money you pay, but it is very lagy when there are multiple apps running in the background, the pixels are visible so for an average consumer it is ok, but if your looking for a speedy devices this is unfortunately not for you.

  • If you look at the connector for the charger it would most likely be a mini-usb. If it is mini-usb then you can get a mini-usb to hdmi adapter and use a hdmi cable to connect to the tv. Hope this helps.

  • I just purchased one on sale to condense my love of books into something manageable into my older age - complete with arthritic tendencies. E-readers seemed like a natural progression, and this one is a good size for use as a mobile computer. I appreciate the size because I used to be a professional secretary, and love to type quickly....not easy with a micro-sized keyboard. For an older person who's somewhat challenged by the digital age, I felt quite comfortable setting everything up.....I LIKE IT!

  • You can get a tv / av cable from maplins,one end is HDMI the other is same as charger.They do two cables one is under £10 and the other about £20. Buy both and return the one that doesn't work and get a refund. The cheaper one worked for me. You can also try Chromecast

  • Bought one for the company warehouse as their iPad was giving them headaches not seeing the Wifi. Anyway, they didn't like the RDP ability on the Galaxy - something the iPad is good at..when it works 80% of the time. So I took the galaxy home for a play. It's heavy, like..."my arms really aching" heavy. Just under half a Kg, it feels lot heavier after 10 minutes. OS is good. Bright, slick, quick and clear. Just like your Galaxy phone but a lot bigger. I don't like the really reflective screen, it's a real pain if theres strip lights in the room or your outside. All you see is strip lights or sky, so it's difficult to see the screen in some environments. A matt screen would have been much better IMO. Google handwriting is good though, so I may use it to take notes in meetings. I've learnt tablets aren't really for me. I got bored pretty quickly, put it down and picked up the laptop. it basically reinforced what I already thought. Bit of a toy, nothing serious. And for just over a £100, what more could I expect. At least I didn't buy it.

  • I got it a few days ago good for the price but the camera quality is not very good it looks better when you look at it in the gallery but still not very good also it has no led light so it doesn't have the flashlight function so you cannot use the flash when taking pictures in dark lighting also it doesn't come ready installed with allshare cast function which allows you to play a video or a film that you have downloaded on the tablets video player onto your smart tv wirelessly. you can download an app for this function (but not allshare cast as this is a default app and not available on the app store) but you still cant play downloaded films onto your tv which is a bummer because id rather watch it on the the big screen with everyone spaced out watching comfortably instead of everyone crowded round a small screen you could get a hdmi cable (but that's quite expensive) or screen mirror but the video is very laggy when mirrored but all the other features are great it depends really if you watch a lot of downloaded films which personally I do or like to pair your device to a smart tv

  • It IS mhl capable, you just have to get the right mhl adaptor. It's just a differenice in the pins. 8 pins vs 9 pins. Do your research!

  • Great tablet, handles even some of the more demanding games fine, been playing gta San Andreas and gangster Vegas on it for about a week now and both run perfectly on their highest settings. I do however feel that It lacks on-board storage space, and a music player.

  • Well, I can't see why everyone is hating the Tab e. I just got one and its great. It does the job, is fast and easy to use. For someone who wants to browse the web, read magazines watch some Netflix and maybe have some gaming while siting on the metro, its just perfect.   • Actually you don't. There are $200 Chinese tabs with twice the hardware running both android and windows. The "cheap" Samsung tabs are a huge rip off. The "expensive" ones are the ones to get because they actually give you some value (tab S gives you amoled, note gives you the spen)

  • The tab E series is the 'economic' version of Tab A. It is super cheap around $200+ so, please don't mind the low resolution. You get what you pay for. It just a touch up for the lite tab series to make the bezel thinner and slimmer body.
