LG Stylo 2 - User Reviews

  • The phone is good it's the software that sucks and especially after T-Mobile took over.

  • I've had the LG stylo 2 for about two years. It started off great, I was so excited to get it. After about a half a year it started glitching and booting me off apps I was using, the wifi would randomly disconnect and everyone else in my house old could use the wifi. Also, it would take forever to load something.

  • Purchased my Stylo 2 in Feb 2017 from Boost for $69.99 online. It was a cheap phone to replace a garbage ZTE I had purchased that was the worst phone I ever owned. I went cheap but still wanted a stylus so here we are. September 2019 the phone has proven to be a TANK after 30+ months of daily use. She has never glitched out on me, and to my memory I don't believe I've ever done a factory reset! She did update to Android 7.0 a while back, but that is no longer supported so she's on life support. This phone has solidified me as an LG Fanboy, it's pretty slow in 2019 but still functions with any of the light games or browsing I use it for. But just the fact that it's been the most reliable and durable phone I've ever owned amazes me. Still shocked one of the cheapest phones I've ever owned which was outdated when I bought it, has become my all time champ for reliability. She's not a supermodel but I know she's there for me when I need her.

  • Have had this phone for three years and NEVER had any problems. Tough as nails and continues to work great.

  • This phone is literal garbage compared to any high-spec phones or even any budget phones that are out. The only reason I have is because it was free.

  • I bought the Stylo2 in October of 2018. I have yet to have any issues with it. No slowdowns or lagging, battery life is still great with no lessening to be seen, nothing has broken. I keep everything updated. I restart the phone at least once every week. I'm very happy with the phone and if/when needed, I'll probably "upgrade" to the newest Stylo. My sons both have S9+'s and they're great phones also. Mine works as a phone just like theirs, plays music just like theirs, and does most things just like theirs, but mine cost like $700 less. Darn. IDK why others that have posted here have had bad luck with their Stylos. Maybe I just take better care of mine...who knows. I think it's a damned good phone.

  • Don't waste your money. I got this phone in May 2018. By December, the charge port was completely broken. Figuring it was a fluke, I filed a warranty claim and got a replacement of the same model. BIG mistake. Four months later, the charge port on my replacement is also broken and now I'm out of warranty so I can't even ask for my money back. I have NEVER had this issue with any other phone. The phone i had immediately before this model, the Samsung galaxy core prime lasted 2 years, without a single issue with the charge port; I got an upgrade because it was laggy. Buy literally ANYTHING else but this piece of garbage.

  • Phones are too disposable these days. this one has crummy camera, battery doesn't hold a charge, charger doesn't stay connected, constantly tells me my memory is full and doesn't put text messages thru even when storage shows quite a bit available. Don't like this phone

  • I've had this phone for about 2 years and I've seen major declines in terms of performance. It constantly lags and freezes, the camera quality is garbage, storage is so small I can't get any app without uninstalling at least one app, and the battery life is terrible. My brother and I were so happy to receive this phone first time due to our last phones which was the amazon fire phone not having google play. I enjoyed for a while until we saw declines in performance. In less than a year my brother gave up on the phone and got a Samsung Galaxy S7. I was still stuck with the phone giving it one more chance at being decent but as I kept using it it only got worse. My 2013 Moto X (first gen) which was my first smartphone has a faster processor than the 2016 lg stylus 2. It was a cheap phone that I got on sale for half price but I see why they lowered the price. Don't get me wrong, LG is a great company but when it comes to phones, they suck. Lastly, the stylus is pointless. I use it like 3 to 4 times in the 2 years I've had it.

  • Steve, This phone was released two years ago at the time when the IPhone 6 was popular. My wife had an IPhone 6, I had the LG Stylo 2 (which I still have, but am about to upgrade). My phone ran circles around her phone in every way and did until hers completely bricked. I'm sorry, but if you compare specs on them the IPhone just always loses. All you're paying for is the name. Actually, my phone still beats the current IPhones' specs. Apple just doesn't compete, because they know that people will just buy it because it is an Apple product. It's great for their bank, but sucks for you.

  • I got my brother's old Stylo 2 when he bought a new iPhone. It makes an excellent MP3 player/web browser to cut the load off my Moto E4. The camera is terrible, although it is likely due to the front glass being cracked. It is a decent phone, and repair parts are commonplace on Amazon. My only suggestion for LG is to start using Gorilla Glass for their devices, especially since the prices are going down.

  • This has to be the worst phone I have ever owned. The camera sucks. It is slow and the photos are often out of focus. The text messaging is cumbersome and unreliable. The stylus note taking feature is crap. Don't waste your money on this piece of crap phone. I am going back to the iPhone.

  • I love this phone, it`s affordable and got all i needed :)

  • I have had the phone 3 years, never cracked, great photo quality but its slow now and lags, looking for a new phone, but i never used the stylus.

  • The phone is alright, but nothing amazing. I've had this a year and a half and definitely now on the lookout for a new one. Camera photo quality is acceptable but could be better, and lags when opening camera app causing some missed photo opportunities. The phone has developed lag that it didn't have when i first bought it, so wouldn't recommend it for long use. The pen is handy but honestly don't really need it myself. I'd not necessarily recommend it unless you're on a budget

  • I have now owned this phone for just over a year. I've purchased this at a Boost retailer knowing I needed a bit more than the phone I've had with Boost for a year. It was Samsung phone but can't recall what model. After purchasing this phone I was definitely happy with it. 6.0 wasn't bad but definitely missed a few things. Update 7.0 did that right up and some. Anyway, I have now owned and used the heck out of this phone for ongoing 2 years and still running like a champion. I plan on keeping it much longer. This phone may not have all the whistles and bells. But, even to date with a 2gb ram 9gb free space memory (16gb internal memory) which is lame but i don't need to many things to begin with. All the apps still work for it's version. This thing is durable. Definitely worth a decent phone.

  • When we bought it new, my gf cracked the screen in her pocket hours later. But the firmware sucked, the screen was constantly wigging out (not from the crack) So it was shelved, I soft bricked it months ago trying to remedy the screen. Last night I pulled it back out to make it into an IP cam and in the interim update the firmware to Android 7.0. Now it works great using it as my wifi/voip/phablet. I was able to permanently network unlock it over the internet. Soon I will root it so I can uninstall the LG bloatware or give another shot at custom ROM. The bootloader is unlocked also which was easier to do than my LG P769

  • HELP why does my phone keep saying service disabled when the bills paid

  • It sucks. Freezes every other second, low storage, I don't think the phone is worth it and it doesn't update a 25 megabytes even though it has more than 500 megabytes of storage telling me to uninstall apps to make space

  • I have had my phone over a year and love it. I use an Apple Iphone for work and loathhhhhhhhhhe it. My LG is awesome and does have fingerprint access. Vids/photos are very good to excellent. For a phone that is $100 dollars at metro, it is so much user friendly than Apple. I have Sirus on it and good 4G and wifi. It stays charged for a few days unless I am doing a lot of surfing then charge it up for a couple of hours at night during dinner/tv and it is ready to go. For the money it still out-beats Apple hands down. Get it and love it.

  • POS phone. I've only had a few months and the battery doesn't hold a charge over night, it's supposed to have 16G internal memory and it only has 8G. It's supposed to have Android 6.0 and it has 5.1.1. Totally disappointed. I should have known better than to buy an LG and stuck with Samsung.

  • Regret buying this phone. When contract up it is definitely going. Rear buttons are ineffective and notification system for emails etc. are sporadic. It only notifies you of an email about 70% of the time therefore I miss urgent emails. I'm always having to look at phone to be sure I don't miss one.

  • This phone does not ven have a fingerprint scanner. I owned one and it is a solid budget phone.

  • What a crappy phone this is... I have had S5 Galaxy, Xiaomi Note3 pro in the last few years. This is a company provided phone, but I feel like I went several years back. The fingerprint doesn't work most of the time, if it's cold, if it's hot, if is dry if it's wet... It's slow

  • Please check with your carrier the LTE or band bands/bandwidth they use. Might be the ones this phone does not support. If that is the case you can only replace the set to fix it.

  • I bought this as an upgrade for another Samsung phone, and should have saved my money. In many ways, the "upgrade" was a downgrade. One annoying glitch is that to read an email to the end, I must "swipe up" to get the whole post. Another, is that deleting an email requires that you do this one email at a time and with an extra step. Most annoying is that making and deleting email files is so complicated that even the people at Verizon didn't know how to do it.

  • ?

  • I am in Kenya ,,got this phone from USA recently, its a great phone. but doesn't allow cellular data from certain carriers despite having put the APN settings required, please need help,

  • Hm

  • Why did you buy it? Sounds like you just do not like the phone at all. Why don't you just do yourself a favor; throw it away.😎

  • How to open data. .

  • How to open molibe data

  • I am facing problem with selfie camera. It does not show view full hide while taking selfie.

  • Stylo 2 horrible it does what it wants it keeps turning my brightness on my phone down even as I'm texting now and I'm on 80%

  • Mine has no slow down issues at all and i have the exact same phone. True i simply disabled or stopped preinstalled apps it came with and then it runs nicely. It is reliable, fast, and is used 17 hours a day for videos, calls, web searches, emails etc etc etc.

  • The original carrier for this phone has that function disabled. You have to flash the phone to be able to get that. So far, there is someone on eBay that flashes the phone to software ls775zv9 which allows you to use all it's features on GSM. It has taken me a year to find someone to be able to do this. All phone repair shop that offer unlocking, flashing, etc, can unlock the phone to use your SIM card but no data connection. This eBay seller is the only who has been able to do this for me. They charge 15usd to do so. They have you download software, then they will remotely connect to your computer via TeamViewer and get the phone flashed. Once done, it works fine. The link to their ad on ebay is:

  • My network has disabled Please any help

  • I actually like this phone but the only thing bad i see is taht it doesn´t show any sign of data use in notification bar, at lees not in my country. Can anybody tell me what should i do to fix it ?

  • I need help setting my phones setting to normal.I recently restarted my lg stylo by accident and on the process had my network locked.I can not make calls though i always get a notification saying that the network is locked. How do i go about reseting the network?I am currently residing in Kenya.

  • I dont like that it only disables an app when you uninstall it and makes you take extra steps to actually uninstall an app, especially with the only 16GB of internal storage. I really dont like that they got rid of the home screen looping that the lg stylo had since none of the launchers I could find support any calendar widget. And I dont like that the folders are always 3×3 even if you only have 4 apps in a folder. I do like the fingerprint lock, miniscreen, and pop memo that comes up when taking out the stylus.

  • I hate this phone because they didint want to spend the extra money to put a gyroscope in the phone

  • Lg stylo 2 Has been updated to Nougat 7.0 you have to change that, beside lg stylo 2 released with marshmallow 6.0.1 and yours is 6.0, this page has to be updated soon

  • The storage on the phone is horrendous! Once you download an app, there is no way to get that storage back. Also the phone keeps updating every 5 minutes and wont allow me to use it until I update it. Though I need more storage to update it. Storage that I can't get back. Stay clear of this phone! Not worth the time or money. While you're at it, stay clear of Verizon. They keep auto downloading apps I don't want and cannot delete.

  • VERY disappointing upgrade to Stylo G! My $260 FAIL!! The Stylo 2 is the NEW COKE of LG phones!! The Stylo G was a REALLY good phone for me. I did have constant storage battles with the small internal storage, but was good phone! The phone case I had wore out and caused the screen to get cracked. The glass got so cracked 2 months later that it took out the digitizer and I needed to a new phone quickly or miss out on prime economic opportunities. In my situation at the time. My choices where these: Doing an Insurance claim would have lost me 4-5 days transit time alone and would still have the same pitiful storage problem! Or, I could (I should have!!) have gone to another service provider. Bought the Stylo 2, which they had the PLUS version of, for $80 but would get the same poor service I left 2 years ago!! Other than Getting twice the internal Memory and a tiny Increase in processor speed.than the Stylo G. The LG STYLO 2 LG-K540 is a PIECE of GARBAGE!! The Glass broke from using the P.O.C. stylus that was falling apart 5 days out of the box!!!! Cricket Wireless is a P.O.S. company that sold me this H.O.J. without informing me there was a $35 upgrade promo going on at the time. Then when I called them on the 6th day of the 7 day return period about the glass issue;. They said the return policy is only for undamaged and unblemished phones. That I'd have to use my insurance to get it fixed!! If I keep this phone and my service it will cost me OVER $260 for a $90 out of date and poorly engineered phone!!! $165 for phone and $35 for activation, $75 insurance, $20 for 2 new styluses to cover the next 6 months of use and hours of lost set-up time and hours more to reset the new phone!!! The Stylo 3 was due to be released by cricket wireless two days after I bought this Poor excuse for a phone! It would have cost me $210 and 2 more days of lost productivity to get what? The Stylo 3 is the stylo 2 with recessed glass like the Stylo G, Slightly better cameras, A gyro and the Gorilla Glass they should have put on the Stylo 2 since they decided to slap regular glass on it as an after thought. At first I thought the screen was a cover protecting the main screen. You can't even hold the phone on it's edges without turning the phone on or running an app next to the edge of the screen!! I can barely put it in my pocket without butt dialing North Korea, making a video of inside my pocket or turning on location and checking the weather in 9 states!! No wonder why all of the you tube videos are about replacing the glass on the 2 and not the G...!!?? So you did it LG!! It only took you from what I can guess is 400+ versions over 3 years and 3 generations to build an LG G Stylo the way it should have been since day One!! Beta Testing is done now!! You can drop the 3.....Like the new rear cover makes you do!

  • Pros: has decent battery life charges relatively fast and has fair camera. Cons:the stylus doesnt do much and its low memory and high amount of preinstalled apps. phone quality fades within a month of using. warning rant. no straight bashing. just facts that ive noticed. i have this phone. the straight talk version has 8 gb of memory not 16 and it comes with so many pre installed apps that even after i uninstalled updates for them and disabled them it was still using more than half of the total memory. i have three apps installed and i have a warning for being out of memory space. it was sold to me as "lg's answer to the note series by samsung" its not. the stylus is hardly useful. this phone starts out good but very quickly wears down and slows down a great deal. i do not recommend to anyone.

  • I loved this phone until last month when it updated to nougat. I HATE the ugly Blob smilies it has now.. And it will not let you use any other smilies on different keyboards. The few smilies in the drop down box that they made"cute" still show up on everyone I text as the green Android smilies.. Which are ugly. The phone freezes now. When I write an email the typing is very slow and sometimes will not send now to people that i have been emailing forever. And the keyboard keeps changing size as I'm typing...I had none of these problems before they updated from marshmellow to nougat. Ruined my phone!

  • I'm not much of a phone guy so grain of salt and all. My friend gave me his old Stylo 2 after Seeing the old LG Optimus L90 (D415) I was still using ( a great cheap phone in its day) and the Stylo 2 is a very nice phone. Now superseded by the 2 plus, 3 and 3 plus this phone still holds its own if your phone needs are not that great. I basically make calls, watch videos/youtube on it and having the stylus is a nice bonus, i have used it a few times. Picture and video quality are quite good as well. My only gripe is at times the phone feels overly large and I don't have particularly small hands, but to be honest its a minor complaint overall. Actually one of 2 gripes, for some reason I haven't investigated too much into I'm not able to flash this phone with another ROM so I'm stuck with the bloatware the phone came with, but for the price how much can I really complain.

  • LG Stylo 2 Boost Mobile LS775 +LG Tone Pro HBS-760 Smart device. It is updated to the Android 7.0. Huge screen. Excellent battery. Excellent sound. I love this device. I recommend

  • The photos appear fuzzy on the screen because the camera is 13 MP and the screen is only 720p and 13 MP takes pictures at 2160p resolution so yes all pictures taken with the phone will appear fuzzy

  • One of the best phones I have owned havent had any issues with this phone! Although it is big it took me a little while to get used to it it but GREAT phone!!!!

  • first the phone was fine, it worked the way it was supposed to I loved the phone. Then out of nowhere it started updating like 5 times a day, now the phone sucks. I can't close apps without having to restarting the phone. When I open apps, all I see is a black screen or a plain white screen. I have to keep restarting the phone when it freezes, I turned off automatic updates but the phone still updates every day. I hate this phone now, which sucks because before this was the best phone that I've had. Oh yeah, I can't hang up when calls end when I try to call someone the phone freezes then tries to call the person I was trying to call while that person is calling me.

  • as in the way of face book you have to go in too the settings befor logging in and turn them off and if that dont work go in to setting on the phone and go in to sounds then apps and turn off the notification there

  • You can go to settings and pit it to factory settings and u can hold the power button down to restart phone

  • You can turn off notfications and delete unwanted apps ive had the phone for a year and its a good phone go into settings u can do everything from there if u get stuck go onto you tube and type in your pbone and what u need help with hope this helps

  • There is a factory reset to get rid problems in the settings. check out the settings in the phone.

  • Change your SD card and complain about it to Sprint. It's a faulty SD card and sprint making your life miserable.

  • You can disable them from the applications settings. Yes they consume battery and internet if you allow them to run simultaneously in the background.

  • Unwanted apps on the phone. 2nd day of owning the phone Virgin Mobile said all the data was used? Happened again the next month, they cut the data down to very slow. Always getting unwanted Facebook notifications. No way to stop them tried just about everything. My husband is not happy with this LG phone at all. May have to get rid of it after 3 months of owning it. It also has something to do with Google. Does anyone have any answers? The phone is a LG stylo 2

  • Since the nougat update my stylo2 constantly unmounts the sd card. Its very frustrating and the phone calls are horrible on Sprint. You could barely hear the person your talking to.

  • I had an IPhone 5s with boost. Unfortunately it just stopped working completely. I had insurance etc. I simply chose to get a new phone the LG Stylo 2. After a 12 hours the phone completely shut off on its own and "Mobile ID" kept popping up as not working. I was unable to receive any texts except my husband who also has LG Stylo. The next day I returned to Boost and they swapped the phone for a new one saying it maybe defective. I began to use the new 2nd LG Stylo 2 and was unable to receive texts from Iphones? I deactivated it through ITunes. The Mobile ID kept coming up again saying error. I returned to the Boost Carrier and explained. The agent said I would have to contact APPLE which I did and they said they had nothing to do with the texting. It was the PHONE. I am completely overwhelmed with frustration with this phone. LG STYLO 2 is a COSMETICALLY good phone only. As for its service for anything. IT'S HORRIBLE! Waste of my money and now I am left with a phone I can only use for speaking which I cannot use during work.

  • The thing I noticed about the LG Stylo after the hype of the cell phone passed, was the pictures, even though when you look through the camera lens, the image is clear and sharp, they always come out slightly fuzzy, and forget about taking any long-distance shots. At first, that was okay with me, but as technology has improved it has irritated me greatly. The second problem I've experienced is Bluetooth connection problemsl, which have been getting worse. I paid way too much for this phone to T-Mobile and I still owe money on it and I can't trade it in till I paid it off. This is irritating me also. I had another LG phone I didn't like before now I remember I don't like LG

  • Back up all data on the internal memory. Turn off the device. Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons. When the LG logo appears, quickly release and then re-hold the Power button while continuing to hold theVolume down button. 'Factory data reset' appears.

  • pull notification bar down and tap the color inversion tab

  • Anyone knows how I can change a feature of negative ohoto look in the celular

  • Absolutely worst phone I have owned since my first "bag" phone in 1992. Returned under warranty in first 60 days. New has some of the same glitches. When using coice command it frequently scrambles a stored contact number requiring manual dial. Very inconvenient when hands free is necessary. Occasional lock up requiring removal of battery to reset. Speaker not veru loud. Camera requires you to tap screen to focus before shooting,an unnecessary step. Poor indoor reception. Tones and alerts (also low volume often don't hear) have mind of their own sometimes announcing contact name sometimes not. Word suggestions when texting are not intuitive and inefficient. Voice texting is worse and often requirea multiple attempts. Battery life below average even though new. I could go on but I'm so tired of this phone and I think you get the picture. NOT RECOMMENDED

  • Yeah I was having the same problems but still its an upgrade from the phone I have before

  • Hello!!! I would like to know if I can use this Virgin model in Sprint? .. thanks

  • The stylo 2 duplicates the problems of the stylo 1.this list includes freezing up at least 1 time a day.the suggested solution is to take off the back and remove the battery.what a load of crap.the solution is to fix the problem.updates cause operational problems.it will turn itself off at the drop of a hat.half the internal memory is eaten up with bloatware.if i wanted 3 amazon apps i would install them myself.the same applies to the many social media apps..i dont want or need damn near every goggle app..you cant get rid of them and if you disable and clear cache they return in minutes.lg gets paid at the expense of the consumer.there is more i can say but why bother.the only solution is to buy an unlocked phone or get a samsung 8 which allows the consumer to remove all the bloatware.the only comforting thought is that lg phones seldom last more than 12 to 14 months.money i pissed away on a lg.back to samsung.

  • Absolutely agree with all you stated.

  • One of the best phones I've owned so far. Last phone was a Galaxy S4. I love the operating system and user friendly settings. Delete some of the factory apps though. Like the z camera and flashlight front app. These apps made ads pop up. Other than that. I google a lot, gps, pandora and Spotify and I never have any problems. Cricket wireless

  • Worst LG phone I've ever owned. Had several LG's in the past before switching to Samsung. Last year bought an LG Stylo 2 when changing providers never check the reviews 1st. Phone continually locks up, often reboots in the middle of a process, apps open and screen turns on without prompting. Bad camera, never focuses correctly poor images. Screen cracked after dropping from 3 ft onto a Linoleum floor. I could go on but you get the idea. Avoid...

  • This phone cannot be factory rested or rebooted.

  • My Samsung Galaxy S4 Has A Total Of 16GB Of Storage. The Phone Can Take A Lot Of Wear And Tear, But I Have Been Thinking If Upgrading To The Stylo 2 Plus, It's Bigger, Better, Faster, And Stronger From What I Can Tell. The Only Thing I Don't Like About The S4 Is The Android System Is Only 4.4 Kit Kat While The Stylo 2 Plus Is 6.0 Marshmellow And Soon To Be 7.0 Nougat. The LG G3 I'd Also A Great Option. Don't Try The LG G4 Though. It has a defect where it makes the phone a plastic brick called the bootloop effect. Other than that. I Think I'm Really Going To Enjoy The Stylo 2 Plus When I Get It.

  • You can buy a charger that goes in your cigarette lighter.

  • Yes. I wondered if it was just me. Thank you for posting.

  • My experience with this phone is that the touch screen has frozen 1-2 times every day I've owned it regardless of what I do about it. You can't reboot the phone without the use of the touch screen, so instead you have to rip the back off the phone and remove the battery and then reboot it. And I have tried everything to fix it. I have owned it 6 months and it has frozen more than 200 times, beginning the very first day. I have also tried resetting the phone to factory settings. That also did not fix the problem but it did cause me to permanently lose the voice mail with the phone number of a customer that I needed to call back. I had "backed up" my data to the SD card and was careful not to check the box that the instructions said do not check, but restarting the phone after the factory reset nonetheless wiped out the backup data that was stored on the SD card. so that was a huge waste of time and effort. I am not happy with the camera either. I knew from other reviewers before I bought it that it would be mediocre, but I mistakenly thought that would not be a big deal. It truly is. Who wants fuzzy pictures with lifeless colors for their memories? If you can't do a job right, why do it at all? If you can't take a worthwhile picture with your phone, why pay for a camera phone? The phone does not receive data consistently. It works ok on wi-fi but if you are on data the page loads stall indefinitely sometimes. My husband's phone (a different brand) does not have that issue at all, in the same location. He always has fast data loads. The phone comes with 16 Gb internal memory. That was a big selling point for me but the phone comes from the factory loaded up with nearly 8 GB of dozens of useless apps you can't get rid of. They are loaded in internal memory and you can't move them to the SD card. If you try to disable one you get an error message that you will cause some other app to misbehave. The phone freezes regularly whether you have all those useless apps enabled or not. You are stuck in a relationship with Google. The phone is loaded with a LOT of Google apps whether you want them or not. They are not optional. You can disable them at the risk of making other apps misbehave, but you cannot delete them. It comes loaded with all the big prying social media apps. I enabled the Facebook app and the next time I tried to upload just one single photo, the app unexpectedly uploaded every photo that was on my SD card, which was several dozen, and every video I had on the phone as well, as if I wanted to blaze through my bandwidth uploading private photos into the control of strangers. Once a photo uploads to Facebook it is impossible to remove. The only sure way to solve that problem was to disable the Facebook app. Overall, this phone has been a perpetual disappointment. I've only owned it 6 months but I am at the end of my rope.

  • if sms/ or mms are not working FOR SMS > you can go to the settings/ general/ app/ texting app /storage and clear the data... and also go settings/ networks/ more/mobile networks/ acces point names/ clike the 3 dots on the top right corner/ press reset to default or talk to your provider and they can help you setup and apn (acces point names)

  • This is crazy, I've had the LG Stylo and that one could really take a beating. My niece tossed it from one side of the room to the other (multiple times I might add) it didn't break. She's was 22 months old. Moving on I bought the succersor, LG Stylo 2. And it broke the same week, I had a case on order, ironically it came the same day my broke. 😒 I'm glad I had 14 days to take it back to Bestbuy, and I did. I've started reading the specs on these phones & it seems like LG is getting away from the Gorilla glass in favor of all the 720 pixel blah blah. But seriously I don't need a phone that can't take a knock, I've got a noisy niece who likes to talk & take my phone. I don't need it. I've been considering the LG G3, it has everything I want and what I need, I'm just saying.

  • Hey. If you are not receiving calls/texts, then it is in the phone settings or the actual service provider is having issues. Most likely the latter. As a guy that is in Retail Sales for phones and phone plans, I have not had any customers complain about the Stylo 2. It is also the same phone that I carry every day. Check your Access Point Name (APN) settings, and if they are correct, then contact your phone provider.

  • Well i can't download movies off websites. It always goes to play instead of download

  • Ditto. Is there a remedy?

  • Mine is on 5ghz now

  • The LG Stylo 2 has only 16gigs storage. Very bad idea considering all phones needs minimum 32gigs. When the storage is full the text and visual voice are blocked out. Very bad idea. So you need a 32gig memory stick to transfer all photos and movies. Im with metro pcs. They are the best unlimited data available and no throttling. But they hardly have a single clue about repair.

  • I have had this phone since December had it upgraded to latest firmware same day I got it. This phone is nice for the price I got this on promotion from verizon for free with that being said I have had difficulty with talking to people on the phone or over my car Bluetooth. I still think this phone will hold up the 2 years but I don't know what shape it will be in. I use my phone for the GPS capabilities for my job I drive for a living I think the battery life kind of sucks when it comes to using the phone for directions I have had to buy another battery for this phone because I can make it through a day with minimal use IE only using it when I get calls and texts. I purchased a backup battery because when you use the phone it will give you 6-8 hours on a charge then it's bye bye phone hello uncertainty I used this phone to get directions from buffalo to Camden and back I started off on the backup battery and 50 percent 3 hours there the battery was completely drained popped in oem battery 3 hours later 50% I like the phone my suggestion buy an extra battery you can get one on Amazon for like $15 shipped and no tax

  • Have you ever shut the phone down, and restarted it? All the processes running in background will slow ad eventually freeze anything & all phones.

  • Lots of people don't buy overpriced "insurance". Why pay $50 to insure a $100 phone? By time deductible kicks in, $29.95 net "profit". Now if you're talking about fresh $650phone, economics different.

  • Doesnt support 5 ghz network. Only 2.4

  • I upgraded mine to 7.0 it messed up until I uninstalled Google Play services and reinstalled other than that I love this phone very quick

  • Same thing with mine

  • With this update can you have your game apps on the sd storage?

  • I have had the exact same problem and it sucks. I also don't get texts sometimes and same problem that they can't fix it. I hate this phone so much.

  • Love this phone

  • What the hell is with this new update. Now theres no Google play store and anything that was supported by Google play is gone or won't work. I couldn't even get my uber app to work so that I could get home faster since I gotta wake up so damn early. Seriously irritated. Especially since I bought an app yesterday that isn't supported on my phone now because of this update

  • you cant move apps to card, only pictures

  • My needs weren't that great. I'm not a heavy gamer. I use my phone to talk, text, play time killing, downloaded casino games and run shopping apps. My previous phone was the original Stylo, which was my third LG, which I easily outgrew, because of it's limitations. I was considering the ZTE Warp 7. In comparisons, the Stylo 2 and the Warp 7 are very similar. I didn't know that the stylus of the Stylo 2 was active. The original Stylo's stylus wasn't. I really didn't make up my mind until Best Buy had the Stylo 2 on sale for $59 during the holidays. Best $59 I ever spent. I love this phone. And it just got better. Last week, the operating system upgraded from Android 6 to Android 7. With Nougat, you can turn your sd memory card into integrated internal storage and blow the 16gb internal memory away. Again, I love this phone.

  • How did u get it to read the sd card cause my stylo 2 out of space and see sd car that won't give me the option of putting my apps on the SD card or my photos so what should I do please help

  • The phone is garbage my phone has been messing up since day one I have been back and forth to the store over six times they even order me a new one and that phone was messing up then he had the nerve to tell me that I had to send them my phone and they couldn't give me another phone but yet I pay my bill on time and I have insurance and warranty on there that's not even up yet don't get this phone

  • Do you mean android Marshmallow 6.0 made your phone freeze up before the update, or does the new android 7.0 update causes the phone to freeze up, if so I'm not getting the Stylo 2.

  • After charging, phone locks up. Only after removing the battery will the phone work. Does anyone else have this problem? --or a solution?

  • Mine is dog pile too!

  • Update your OS to Android 7.0. my phone froze up almost daily and had to remove the battery but ever since I updated to Android 7.0 hasn't froze once. Go to settings > general > system updates > update lg software Hope this helps

  • Like all Android phones, this one also needs cleaning. I installed Clean master and an other app that kills background tasks. As a result the phone is working fine. As it goes for freezing, my former s7 sometimes refused to power on.

  • mine keeps saying invalid sim card, and then I can only make emergency phone calls. cannot text either. doesn't come with a sim card-need to buy one. where does it even go into the phone?

  • Ive had it for about a week noticed battery wouldnt charge replaced battery still no change. Phone was on airplane mode for 2 hours and battery went up 6%. Keeps freezing. Froze for a good 10 mins and then restarted on its own.

  • I bought this phone on Saturday Jan 11. That Tuesday, it randomly shut off that night and I had to take the battery out in order to turn back on. I was almost late to work Wednesday morning because my alarm didnt go off. Called the boost mobile store Wednesday night, and the guy had never heard of that problem. I told him I was going to bring it in if it happened again. It happened Wednesday night. And Thursday night (last night). Needless to say, im going to return the phone today and get a different one.

  • Wanted to say it was because friend's child spilled wonton soup on it. Then saw that everyone is having the same issues. Switching back to an iphone 5s. Like the software for the price better.

  • The speaker on the phone does not work. I have to dpeak in speaker to hear..horrible

  • My LG Stylo 2 has no problems. 2 weeks ago I received the updated to Android 7.0 and it's fine.

  • I've had it a month it broke up when speaking then blacks out freezes it a piece of junk and then exchanged it still did the same thing junk nothing else to say but junk don't buy it...the plane stylo was fine that's why I got this one but sucks

  • You got to install the app cm security to cool down the ☎ 🔋. You dnt have keep taking out the 🔋 to get to cool down. They have the app for that.

  • I have an lg stylo 2 from metropcs and I haven't had any issues with it, I guess sometimes someone can get a bad batch.

  • I just love my LG Stylo 2. Very powerful, excellent cameras, fast, configurable, and CHEAP!!!

  • I had problems with my stylo 2. The first month i bought it. It freezes. Now it is starting to get hot. I have to take the battery out to cool it down. This phone is a piece of junk. They need to recall it.

  • 1. The seller was great, shipped quickly and item was in perfect packaging etc. 2. I've bought this phone 4 times in the past 2 months. 2 times from Best Buy and 2 different Best buy stores and now 2 times from Amazon. 3 out of 4 phones are defective. The system crashes, messenger errors, the phone will shut off after phone calls or random moments like when you are sleeping and then you have to take the battery out to reset. This is a brand new phone, something in the firmware is faulty and LG should consider recalling all the faulty phones. I will be returning my phone and purchasing a different brand. This phone was great but no one should have a brand new phone that crashes daily.

  • I bought mine for 75$ on amazon

  • No IR

  • Keeps freezing up have to keep taking back off to remove and reinsert battery to reboot

  • Every Android phone ever made does.

  • Have any of you had the freezing / rebooting problems with the LG Stylo 2 Plus sold through Metro PCS? I believe they're selling the MS550 model of the phone. I'm strongly considering purchasing this phone very soon, but all of those comments about the phone locking up and needing to pull the battery to reset it greatly concern me.

  • Mine started right away...its a pain to have to remove case and back to remove battery to get it to turn back on....have you found a fix? Please share if you find one

  • I bought the LG Stylo2 for about $99 with a trade in and I'm very please with it. I love the bigger screen, the clarity and the fact that I can use up 256GB on a sd card. My camera fluctuates sometimes from good pictures to dark and grainy, but I can live with that. My videos are always great, the sound is not loud enough but a bluetooth can eliminate that issue. Overall, the phone is great for the price and I would recommend anyone on a tight budget to purchase this phone. I will never buy an overly expensive phone again because I've had just as many problems.

  • Camera is much better than expected. Light, with a nice big screen. Love the 256gb SD card expandabilty. Great phone for the price.

  • The camera is great in my opinion ion its good quality of course its not an iphone or galaxy but defiantly great for the price

  • I bought it for $130.I had the Stylo 1 previously.I really like this phone. The resolution is decent and I've had no problems with it.I like the big screen too. Camera isn't very good tho.And I wish I could put apps onto my SD card.It won't let you.Overall I'm happy with it. Also comes with marshmallow 6.0. Maybe next phone will be the Stylo 2.

  • 129 at boost store great 13 megapixel camera 16 g memory just got mine today love it nice n big but not to big n very light n skinny

  • The Stylo 2 is a P.O.S. It freezes upand slows down quickly after use. If you have the first Stylo.. Keep it or get something other than the stylo 2. Waste of fkn money.

  • I hate this phone!!! The memory good, camera shows clear, but one problem that not just me, but several people I know are having the same problem. This freaking phone keeps freezing up and you have to keep removing the battery. I shuts down even durning a conversation. Returned phone and the new ine is doing the same. I really loved the first Stylo, this one is a disappointment. I'm getting rid of this my next payday.

  • Is it fake? It's not that cheap.

  • Order 2 from sprint they fair phone for price but my spotting up app with nottouching it they sended to more same issues spended over 6.5 hrs on phone with them still ant got issues resolved yet

  • where did you find it for 65 dollars

  • I really like this phone. The camera is better than I expected it to be and it is faster than the original LG stylo. The only downside is after a week, I have to constantly take out the battery and wait for it stop turning on by itself. It is bothersome but, after a while, it stops doing that. Also, the storage is a lot for me (coming from someone with 4gb of available storage from the 8gb LG stylo).

  • I love this phone, especially at the price I paid. 65 dollars. One 10th the price of an iPhone 7 or Samsung S7. Yea, it's not perfect. Yes, the camera could be better, but for the money saved I could easily buy a pretty damn good camera that would beat the pants off any smartphone camera available today. 600 dollars will buy you a excellent camera if photography is your thing.

  • I am having the same problem

  • This phone is wonderful, iv'e had no issues with it and i don't understand why people don't like it. I'ts never failed me never froze up never been slow.

  • I was trying to use my phone as a universal remote. Does the LG Stylo 2 have an. IR Blaster add o I can use as a remote?

  • Camera quality is very bad and grainy, awful in low light. Definitely not a good phone for camera/photography purposes. This is the biggest drawback of this phone besides the low storage

  • I'm all about pictures and camera is very Important... This will make or break me. I won't purchase this phone if I get negative feedback on the camera and video.... So is the quality okay? Of course it's not an iPhone or galaxy ... Let me know honest opinions

  • I detest this phone!!! My friend and I bought this phone and it keeps freezing and powering down. We have to continuously keep taking out our battery and restarting the phone throughout the day.

  • Does this phone have voice to text capabilities

  • Yes it does

  • Who buys electronics outright without a warranty though?

  • I have the tribute 5 as well. Not sure if the stylo 2 is good enough.

  • is there any other way to get the stylo to play 360?

  • Mine too, it's ridiculous to have to take it apart and remove & replace the battery to be able to use a phone😵, and because I bought it outright I've been told I'm plumb out of luck! That's garbage. No one should be stuck with unusable merchandise!!

  • LG Stylo 2 will not allow you to use Google Cardboard for VR apps as of 12-25-2016. Kind of a drag as I want to get as much out of my VR unit as possible. Get with it Google on your upgrade!

  • I've had the Stylo 2 Plus for a few months. I love the phone itself. The HUGE drawback is that the camera is AWFUL. Pics are usually grainy, fuzzy. Cropping makes it even worse. Also, trying to take a screenshot is absolutely miserable! The way you have to do it, is extremely awkward and difficult to do. I love the great big screen, videos and movies look good. Phone sounds good, no issues there and not having to deal with iTunes, is AWESOME! You can also add a memory card, which is great. I really don't like that the speaker is on the back of the phone. Makes for pretty bad sound when listening to music. I'm looking for a new phone presently. I wish the Stylo 2 Plus was better because I love the size and weight.

  • I have had the LGstylo2 for several months and i love love love this phone. Big screen, built in stylus, really thin profile makes it easy to tuck in your pocket. I think it os every bit as good as my $700. galaxy for less than $200. Battery life is good and phone reception is pretty clear. I use wifi at home and its every bit as good as any tablet or pad i have ever owned. I would buy this phone again in a heartbeat!

  • I was intrested in getting the LG stylo 2 but i really dont know if it will he the right choice.I have the LG trubute 5 now can i get your yes or no opinions and reasons asap please?☺

  • just a detail: LG Stylus 2 has build-in DAB+ Radio/FM Radio. LG Stylo 2 has not according to GSMarena.

  • Is the LG stylus 2 plus really really really better than stylus 2 ? Or it isn't that Big différence between'em? Please respond immediately

  • Turn on you're camera, click settings, make sure HDR is off..then you can change flash

  • No. it does not.

  • Yes does have Fingerprint Sensor.

  • does this have a fingerprint sensor? whats the difference between stylo 2,stylo 2 plus ,stylus 2, stylus 2 plus?

  • i want to know, if the phone work on indian network 3G,4G

  • Have you tried changing the resolution to full?

  • All of a sudden,I can't get the flash to change it's setting...It's locked on no flash....I keep tapping the icon, but nothing changes..and it's only if I try to take a picture of something...any suggestions?

  • Mine is doing that too.. Its frustrating cause i havent dropped it, got it wet, or damaged it in anyway. Im so disappointed. I bought this phone hoping it would be a durable good phone since it was a bit pricey for a pay as you go phone but now im stuck with a defective phone cause i cannot afford to replace it 😢

  • In 2 weeks time, the phone began freezing up & powering itself off. I had to remove the battery to make it come back on. I'm currently on phone #2..hopefully it was just a defective device.

  • When i look at the specs about the camera it says 13 MP however when i take photos it looks like 5 MP

  • I just had this phone for couple of weeks... Great phone but when i started using video and sending some video greetings... It was not good as i was expected. It was all blurry like having mosaicportraut infront of me... I liked this phone but disappointed with the video.

  • The sylo 2 plus has an octa core processor the stlo 2 quad core and speed is faster on the plus

  • Frank it says it goes on top of the sim card

  • I have it and it takes great pictures, but it suffers in the dark a bit. But overall its great

  • I just got this phone and i love it! The camera quality is amazing, with the gesture shot for selfies makes it super easy to use. i would recommend this phone if camera quality and organization is important to you

  • To Answer your question about a carrier. Im not saying to choose cricket necessarily but a device that is accepted at cricket is a GSM network device as opposed to the other two carriers you mentioned that are of the CDMA network. CDMA phones cannot be used on a GSM network like T-Mobile,att and the companies affiliated like cricket, metro, etc. I'd say get a device like the honor 8 or oneplus 3 put you're gonna pay 350-400. Us... But they're comparable to flagships but at half the price.. hope this wasn't too late

  • This phone is made for several carriers.....GSM and CDMA carriers. You just need to buy the phone that is made for your carrier.

  • The SD card goes on top of the SIM card.... there are two slots basically stacked on top of one another. This phone takes a MicroSD card.

  • I am looking at getting this phone... please comment on the quality of the camera?

  • Give me a break this phone is awsome. If you dont like it go spend 500 dollars on a new phone that im sure you unhappy people will find something wrong with it also.

  • Right above the sim card

  • Find and download the user manual from your service provider. In the manual I downloaded it is above the SIM card area just a little above too towards top of phone.

  • I just bought this and was wondering where the SD Card goes? I have one from my old phone and all I see is the slot for the SIM Card.

  • what or why is there a difference between a virgin mobile/boost and a Verizon stylo 2

  • Try typing using the Swype program.

  • I've honestly had so much of an issue with that. And also my screen flickering and turning black.

  • Um, what?

  • when i use wechat listen to the voice message,it makes noisy。 I can not hear clearly。

  • Could you please comment on which carrier to go with LG Stylo 2, Virgin Mobile, Boost Mobile or Cricket? Ideally I like to have a phone that I can use to make phone calls in foreign countries, especially Europe and Asia, by just switching SIM cards. So far I learned from the internet that GSM version is the kind of smartphone to do that, and that the phone has to be unlocked, and with Cricket it's easier to do and with Boost Mobile it is difficult to do. So it seems to me that it all depends on the willingness of the carrier to help you to unlock it. I have very limited knowledge on this aspect. Thanks if you can enlighten me.

  • when i use wechat listen to the voice message,it makes noisy。 I can not hear clearly。

  • I was sooooo disappointed with this phone! I did a lot of research, I thought trying to find the most bang for the buck and initially, out of the box, it looked and felt good. I kind of expected it to be a little larger screen since it was classed as a mini tablet but it was crisp and clean so I was ok with it. I thought the stylus idea was great but i didn't even have the phone a week before the stylus fell out and was lost forever, and thereafter i had constant reminders to put the stylus back uhh the phone. Battery life was alot less than i thought.I don't really game but i surf the net,go on Facebook, listen to music etc and a full charge would only last me about 3-4 hours. On the plus side it would charge on about 2 hrs

  • I had a g3 nice phone but bad battery. I got the stylo 2 and WOW an improved g3 with better battery and great feathures including finger print safey, larger screen and better ok google. To me its as fast or faster. Great phone give it a 10.

  • I love the lg stylo 2

  • was with straight talk for years got the stylo 2 was impressed for a week then invalid sim card apered call them up told me its the sim card long story short 5 sim cards later n they sent me a new stylo 2 now iam with t mobile n have a samsung phone sooooooo much better at least i have a phone that i can use thank you samsung

  • Hell no, the S Pen of the Samsung Note series is Samsung's own technology and it's proprietary as well as patented. You get something akin to the old Palm handsets like the Treo and Centro with anything else. In other words, you can store the stick you use to poke at the display in the phone itself, but don't expect an experience anything like the S Pen beyond that or you'll be sadly disappointed. Go with a Note 5, or a Note 4 if you need the SD card slot, if you want that functionality, otherwise you're out of luck.

  • Mine do not

  • Has anyone else had a problem with their text messages disappearing?? I have no problems with the stylo 2 plus besides the text messages disappearing..

  • I've only had my LG Stylo 2 for a week and it's been fine do far. If I have any problems I'll let you know.

  • I didn't have to download any app, typing text with the pen right out of the box.

  • What's wrong with it?

  • I purchased my stylo 2 phone less than a month ago and guess what? It shut off and never turned back on. Cannot charge it either. Just died. Wow, very impressd LG

  • cathy I went from the stylo1 to the 2 and I have had no problems with any power...

  • Anyone else have trouble with their phone just turning itself off and have to remove battery to get it to turn back on

  • I have this phone boost mobile, but i wonder to know if is possible to root it ,Tryied t but has no elegibility with fiew root sowft, android version is 6.01 ,I want unlock it for other networks use it with sim card. Excelent baterry durability and big screen. I use it most time for my job. Plz.

  • Best device I've ever had

  • I am a big fan of lg but this lg stylo 2 i am very disappointed in. i am going to have to go back to samsung.

  • No you can't. You can't even write texts with the pen until you download stylus writing app.

  • Love the phone but cant access the data mobile in jamaica why

  • Dear Pamla007, Do you already know the answer, if the stylus is comparable with the smart pen of the Note 5 ? Can you make the same easy notes and mark/cut parts of a page or text and send these?

  • I have this phone & love it. I've only used Google's version, with no issues. I believe it's "real time". Its saved me tons of time on the road in the months I've used it. It may work for you too.

  • I have the LG Stylo 2 from Boost Mobile. Great phone so far.

  • Yeah, it's slightly better

  • I love the Stylo that i have but it has problems with the GPS. Does the Stylo 2 have a better GPS?

  • I find the gyro incredibly useful when wending my way home after closing the local saloon. I mount it on my foreheadd and it definitely keeps me upright. And its a great phone too!

  • how do you turn it on?

  • What it does have a gyro??? If so how dow i use it??

  • If your speaking of the adoptable storage that MarshMellow comes with..... downside to this is bad. When plug to computer, you cannot access the storage like you would normally, two icons in pop-up, one for phone (internal), other for sd card (storage)......... I am going to root any phone I use so thats null, just use link2sd or apps2sd if I put more apps on than internal storage will hold.

  • I understand what gyroscope sensor does, but when it comes to functionality.... thats very little it would take away from in what most apps, people do with phones. Except maybe step counter. As long as phone has GPS I'm satisfied! Especially with what all it DOES HAVE, compared to price tag$$$

  • This phone doesn't come with a gyroscope

  • The LG Stylo 2 doesn't have a Gyroscope within it.

  • How do i turn on the gyro?

  • I have issues with it only when using my LG Infinim Bluetooth and it cuts in and out

  • I'm with Sprint. And you can move your storage to the SD card which is great.

  • I haven't had any issues with my LG Stylo 2 including sound issues

  • Any one else having issues with the stylo 2 losing sound for no reason whatsoever

  • does it support VoLTE calling?

  • I had both the note 4 and 5 and went with the lg stylo 2 after playing with my friends stylo to me it's very very close to the samsung notes but i luke the lg more it's snappier and very quick it has not froze up on me like the notes did it does not have the remote control part and it don't have a smart pen but other then that it's pretty much the same and it don't get as hot as a note either. After owning it since it came out i have no complaints on it. Seems samsung is going downhill the past 3 years i use to tell myself I'll only own samsung products but i thought i never would change brands but i did and i love lg phones they last longer and more durable. But if your looking for a great phone thats like the note get the stylo 2.

  • same issue with me. I'm out of a note 5 and note 7.

  • had a note 7 too. had to turn in my note 5 for the 7 so i have no other notes to use :( tried out the edge 7 and i dont like it. i went to edit a picture found myself reaching for the spen then it dawned.. my plan is to get the stylo on virgin or boost to and wait till the next note or another phone i think is worth paying 800 for.Mean while i'll be saving on monthly bills and i wont feel crappy for paying for a phone i dont/didnt even want to begin with (edge 7)

  • Yes. I used it today to call my wife on her Samsung phone.

  • I have a Samsung note7, that I have to swap out. I love the note7 and the s-pen. Does the LG Stylo 2 works like the note7?

  • Actually, it does have a gyro!

  • I have done much homework on the stylo 2 but I did with the original stylo and didnt find anywhere mention it came with so much stuff loaded on it that I couldn't load almost any of my own apps on it. Then when it updated I had to take apps off. Does the stylo 2 have this same problem?

  • Yes it seems to be a standard feature on lg phones.

  • Yes it does have the gyroscope.

  • If you really dig ang find the full spec sheet it does have the gyroscope.

  • Does the LG Stlus 2 have an IR Blaster?

  • Absolutely love my LG Stylo 2. The pen is fantastic regarding storage & capacitive feedback, with nominal issues for recognition upon first opening app. The subprograms for the pen work incredibly well with the base programs, & offer cross functionality with a number of non-base office function apps, such as Evernote, Adobe reader, & OfficeSuite (All able to be added as extra app options for the "Pop Pen"). The screen display is fantastic in bright sun conditions, & does not overheat quickly in hot surrounding temperature, but will get to burning temps in 85 degree areas within 15mins of moderate to high use. :( Regardless, the processing speed are impressive for such a competitively priced device (I purchased at $430 from Boost) but I still have issue searching Gmail & texts, which will either completely freeze the phone, or not allow me to open results in what feels to be 70% of the time. The camera does not compare to my previous LG Tribute 8gb rom & 1gb ram, SHOCKING, but with the HDR option, quality comes close, & doesn't suffer too much in low light conditions. I found that rooting the phone using traditional poot/ministro fashion required older versions of the releases, but removing the amazon apps & other non-essentials/un-wanteds lowered my inaccessible system from 5.58gb to 3.84gb. This phone has become a great replacement for the blackberry given to me by work, & the subsidy pays for my monthly plan, so the tradeoff is well worth it for anyone seeking to utilize this moderate powerhouse for work & play. If you're a selfie maven or a gamer, Don't Bother. It's great for graphics, but the battery can't keep up, & there is no option for battery swapping, unlike the G4. I give the phone a solid 3.5/5, based of the most recent top release, Samsung G S7.

  • I sold my s5 on Craiglist and got the stylo 2 plus

  • I bought the lg Stylo 2 over a month now, I have had no problems whatsoever, price point is awesome, manufacturer gives a warranty.. shoot what's there to lose?? Buy the phone you'll love it.. one thing I do wish apps could be moved to SF card but that will take a root, and that will void your warranty.. but price can't be beat considering quality

  • I was very curious about whether or not the LG Stylo 2 had a gyroscope or not. It's very difficult to find this information on the web, so I called LG and was transferred to a developer since regular technical support could not answer my question. I finally received an answer to the long awaited question about the gyroscope... According to an LG developer (who knows just about everything there is to know about the Stylo 2), there IS a gyroscope. He emailed the official specifications to me, and that confirmed that there most certainly is a gyroscope built into the phone. Here is a list of the sensors that the Stylo 2 has: Accelerometer: YES, Digital Compass: YES, GPS: YES, Gyroscope: YES If you are having issues with your gyroscope interfacing with your applications or hardware, I suggest you contact the developer of the specific application or piece of hardware that you are experiencing problems with. The information I provided came straight from the developers of the Stylo 2, and I have confirmed it by putting the phone in developer mode and running a hardware scan. It took a while to find out, but I'm glad that I finally got the facts from the actual manufacturer of the phone. After I was shown how to perform a hardware scan on the Stylo 2, it removed all doubt. Verdict: The Stylo 2 most definitely has a gyroscope. (This doesn't guarantee that it will interface properly with the app that you are using, however.)

  • The Stylo 2 definitely has wired USB tethering. It allows you to tether via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, or USB. All of the tethering options work equally well, but Wi-Fi obviously gives you the greatest range of all the options. I previously owned the Stylo 1, and it doesn't come close to the performance of the Stylo 2. With 2 GB of RAM, the Stylo 2 is MUCH faster and more responsive. I can run multiple apps in the background without any lagging. The bottom line: The Stylo 2 outperforms the Stylo 1 by leaps and bounds. I have never had any issues with lag, locking up, glitches, or any other type of unwanted behavior. LG did their homework on this one, and the result was a phone that compares to the ones which cost hundreds of dollars more.

  • Unless you're a 5" tall 100 lbs "man", this phone fits perfectly fine in the pocket of any man's pants or shorts. Unless you're wearing extremely tight jeans (disgustingly tight), it won't stick out of your pocket. Having owned phones with large screens for over three years, I've never once broken a phone due to it not fitting properly in my pocket. This may be a personal problem, but it certainly isn't a problem with the phone. The purpose of this thread is to post factual, objective information about the Stylo 2. Unless you bedazzled your phone, it won't make you look "like a girl". That's absolutely ridiculous.

  • The Stylo 2 has double the RAM of the Stylo 1, and lack of RAM was the biggest downfall of the Stylo 1. I have played Pokemon Go on my Stylo 2, and it performs flawlessly... much better than the performance of the Stylo 1. It's amazing that adding 1 GB of RAM increased the performance as much as it did, but the Stylo 2 runs SO much faster, and there are no more annoying glitches that plagued the Stylo 1. It is absolutely worth spending the money to buy the Stylo 2. It is a MUCH better phone, and multiple upgrades were made to improve overall performance. It performs like phones that cost hundreds of dollars more! I found mine at Best Buy for $79 on sale! I guarantee that you'll be blown away by the Stylo 2's performance compared to the Stylo 1.

  • I previously owned the LG Stylo 1, and I was fairly happy with it, but with only one GB of RAM, it often slowed to a crawl when I had numerous apps running at the same time. Overall response time of the Stylo 1 was okay, but not the best. The camera was sufficient and took decent shots in HDR mode, but its camera doesn't compare to the Galaxy 7 or iPhone, which makes sense at its price point. The Stylo 2 is a much better phone. The biggest difference is that it has two GB of RAM, and it is surprisingly much more responsive. In fact, it is nearly as responsive and capable of multitasking as phones that cost hundreds of dollars more. It loads apps much faster, and it never seems to get bogged down when I'm running multiple apps. I can't stress enough just how much better the Stylo 2 performs than the Stylo 1. As far as looks and size go, the Stylo 2 is much thinner than the 1, and it fits much better in my pocket, plus it looks a lot more sleek. I am extremely happy with my Stylo 2, and I recommend it to anyone who's looking for an affordable phone with a large screen and slim profile. I can't stress enough just how much better the 2 performs than the Stylo 1. No contest. I picked mine up at Best Buy for $75, on sale. What an incredible bargain!

  • yes it has wired tethering using foxfi or pdanet.

  • Does it have the "WIRED TETHERING?" no one seems to be able to answer that I bought the Stylo 1 loved it till it started crashing about 2 month ago now I'm not sure if I want the 2

  • No it don't have good storage and what year did it come out but I like the um screen and it does slow down a little bet

  • Ive had my stylo 2 for almost 2 months so far i have no problems with it..no screen lag or backlight problems as i am reading in this review. I have broken the stylist but that was because i sat on it.

  • No gyro so you can't use vr mode. Other than that I play all the time with no problems.

  • I've had issues with the back light just a few weeks after purchase. It was passed the 7 day return policy at the Cricket store so I had to send it in for replacement for a replacement. There is no gyroscope and the touch screen can be slow to respond at times even when using the stylus.

  • I purchased this phone a few weeks ago. The lower left side of the screen became darker due to back light problems and the touchscreen is very slow to respond compared to other phones, even when using the stylus. The camera is pretty good though. There is no0 so you cant use apps that require it. I sent it in for repair (backlight issue ) ,it will take a week to get it back.

  • Will the quick view cover setting work for with any case with a cover (like a regular wallet case) or do you have to buy the special view case?

  • No gyroscope.

  • i am thinking about getting this phone in october the lg stylo 2 can somebody give me a honest rate and what they hate and like about this phone please

  • Ok so I have the lg stylo and am debating on upgrading to the 2. I like the the stylo that I own but I do need more memory and pokemon go is way too glithy on it (mostly GPS related) has anyone used both stylo's for pokemon go. Is there improvements in the stylo 2 over the original.

  • It doesn't seem to have a gyroscope but I'm not sure.

  • Every lg phone has that feature

  • Nfc enabled?

  • Does this thing allow you to change the apps to pics like the first stylo? I miss that part!

  • ok guys, if you want to play pokemon go with AR go with Lenovo Vibe K5, im using it now, with fast GPS and and AR mode works real fine. and its cheaper.

  • Excellent!!

  • Does it have the middle finger?

  • Does it have gyroscope

  • 8gb

  • I have the LG stylo1. No it doesn't

  • My Stylo 2 is the bom...Samsung phones are worth less for the money thou have to pay...

  • it does. but it can only work with other lg phones

  • Can somebody please tell me if this phone has video voice calling without installing an app

  • Well you can manage i think with OEM headets..*Alert* no in built equalizer :)

  • Cricket version will take a 2TB card

  • How sad. Same boat exactly. From Note 4 to Stylo 2 :(

  • I have brrn hanging on to my Sharp Aquos Crystal (even though I water damaged the screen) because of the HD display and the Harmon-Kardon sound package. Make my day and tell me the Stylo 2 has good sound??

  • Works with my stylo 2 on cricket

  • I switched from a note 4 also and obviously this phone cant compare other than size to the note 4 but for the money its not bad. The camera is pretty good, download speeds are quick, battery life is good I just miss the layout of my samsung better. But comparing a $180.00 phone and a $700.00 phone is obviously two different monsters.

  • The display are decent, not the quality of a flagship phone but for the money its pretty good. I wish it played videos in 1080p but the 720p isnt bad.

  • Let's be real. Men with a big phone in their pocket, look well. Like a girl. And are you planning on breaking your phone cause this is how you break your phone

  • it fits fine in my jeans but keep one thing to note is i have large hands and i cant reach to the very left side of the screen right handed

  • Hey Peeps. Does anyone know, if it fits well in your back pocket of (male) jeans?

  • The fingerprint sensor is verry verry fast and good. Much better than iPhone and Samsung.

  • hi pal plz tell me about display, colors and constrast

  • I have sprint with this phone and after deleting what i could about 10gb is left

  • What is bloatware

  • Have had no problems running PokemonGo on this phone.

  • how to locate the GPS on the phone?

  • Phone will blow up in your hands if you install Pokemon, its a phone not a Nintendo console

  • Not all Stylo 1 had 8gb. T-Mobile/Metro had 16gb and other improvements over the Sprint/Boost/Virgin model

  • on the stylo 2 it comes with it from LG

  • Wonder if you know that it's an app that has to be downloaded..

  • I have the Virgin Mobile version. I believe I had about 6 or 7 mb of bloatware. I was careful to load only the apps I really wanted to keep the free memory at about 6 or 7 mb. I love the phone. I had the Stylo 1, and I liked it, but it only had 8 mb memory which was just too little for the phone to work. I only had about 1 mb free and the phone was so slow it just would not work so the Stylo 2 is working great compared to the 1. Hope this helps.

  • Yes u can. No ar mode though

  • yes it does it better than my galaxy s5 did

  • Does anyone know how much free internal memory is available on a boost mobile version of this phone? Meaning, how much bloatware is preinstalled and what is left over memory wise?

  • is we can play pokemon go in this..??

  • i have a lg risio and i can't use the back light durring the day cause of the phone being too hot is this phone going to be having the same issue?

  • There is only one option available for internet and that is Google chrome which is the multi colored wheel hidden in the Google folder

  • ahhhrrhhh stop with pokemon

  • How does the LG Stylo2 compare with the new ZTE ZMax Pro? Looking for a new phone for my birthday what does everyone think? Also what is the app called where you can write on the screen even when it's locked? Please help all advice welcome. Thank you

  • It works with Pokémon Go. No gyroscope so the AR camera part doesn't work. My phone does and I still don't use the AR! It makes catching a Pokémon way harder with the camera on!

  • So far so good. Purchased from MetroPCS and it is SIM locked, but can be unlocked. Decent memory for my tastes. I like the stylus and the ability to write a note, as that helps me remeber stuff. The sound quality as a phone is superb and people tell me they can hear me better. The buttons on the back are a big adjustment. The new OS is a bit of a learning curve coming from Key Lime Pie to Marshmallow.

  • Whats the bettery performance?

  • I purchased the phone today and am still getting used to it. Had a Samsung Galaxy note 4 prior and don't need all the bells and whistles. My complaints are the ringer and media volumes are rather low and I don't see an icon for internet but did instlll Firefox and it seems to work.

  • Whats up with pokemon? :-)

  • Seems OK for a budget phone...have concerns about its VR capabilities. Anyone have any success with this yet?

  • What's more frustrating is that people who think only thier personal wants matter and that everyone else's needs are inherently less important. Gosh, I'm sorry your highness. For the record, I came here specifically for the answer to the question of whether Pokemon Go worked and/or worked well on this specific phone. Understand that there are other people who are also allowed to use this interwebs thingy.

  • no it doesnt

  • Cricket Wireless version is sligthly different that Boost/Virgin ones: Network frequency LTE Bands 2/4/5/12; WCDMA 850/1900/2100 MHz; GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz

  • Purchase. Good phone for cheap. Not high end gaming recommended but otherwise smooth and with significantly less problems than the heinous stylo 1

  • You're correct. Some (many) people just don't grow up. Immature all their lives.

  • No

  • Does this phone work ar with pokemon go with cricket

  • There are different versions of the phone. The cricket version is a little bit higher end than the boost version, so one may have something, such as the gyroscope which is needed for AR mode, while the other does not.

  • Yes, but you might have to turn the AR off at times.

  • Pokemon go will work, but AR will not. So you can play, but you won't be able to see the pokemon on the "real world" background, just an animated scene.

  • Yes. It is android.

  • AR really doesn't work for most people. I've had it "on" but I don't have the orientation sensor on my current phone so I have to turn it off whenever I log in, or it won't show a pokemon.

  • yes you can you can also use ar mode

  • Thank you for the feedback. That was what I was needed to know. Looks like this is the phone I'm getting. Thanks again.

  • If you're fine playing without AR then it runs perfectly fine. Personally I don't think there's any point in playing without it that's why I'm trying to find if it really doesn't work or if people aren't realizing they have to turn it on... Apparently it works even faster without AR mode. Long story short is yes for you it was be perfect

  • Main question I have. Even if this phone will not work in AR mode for Pokémon Go, will it still play the game smoothly and let me view the Pokémon in the other mode? I'm not even concerned about AR mode. That is all I need to know. Any feedback greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • Did you go into your app settings and make sure it has permission? Some people are saying it works and some aren't. Who to believe.

  • No ar

  • Will this be introduced in india?? I am Eagerly waiting for it. coz i cant afford stylus 2. Please release it in india..

  • GPS works great for PK Go. Battery life is good. The camera option where you see the little monsters in the real world might not work but other than that is good . overall good phone at a good price

  • So can i or can i not play pokemon go on this device ? 😕😕

  • You do not need a gyroscope to play. You only need it for AR but that increases the power drain on your battery.

  • Does this phone have snap chat? I currently have a windows phone and a huge bummer is that there isn't snap chat.

  • Does Pokemon Go not work at all?

  • does pokemon go still work without ar mode?

  • Dang i just bought it thinking it would. :(

  • If you're thinking of playing Pokemon Go with this phone DON'T!! This phone does not support Gyroscope. Big disappointment.

  • I have Style 2 and I can't get it to work despite having a gyroscope. Got this phone in hopes to play Pokemon Go, but a big disappointment. Love the phone otherwise.

  • No it does not. I play the game and ar mode does not work with it

  • I just got the Stylo 2 and it only has 8Gb for storage and was pre-installed with Android 5.1.1

  • does this phone support otg ?

  • Dose the phone have a gyroscope sensor for pokemon go i have the stylo 1 and i cant use ar mode but im a big fan of this phone but this can make me not want it

  • It's gorilla glass.

  • The chipset, size, and resolution didn't change but the RAM, and back camera did. Plus it comes preinstalled with the Marshmallow OS. These changes are not huge but can increase performance. Also some of the Stylo 1 are 8gb not 16 so the storage increase can be nice. It is up to you to determine if these changes are worth the price of upgrading.

  • This device differs just enough from the Stylo, mainly looking at the ram. I'm gunning for the Stylo 2.

  • Thank you very much for saving me money my daughter and myself have the one and wanted the 2 but if they are the same we will just stay with the one. Thank you for the honesty.

  • I have been using this Phone for 20 Days now so far i am loving it

  • it fits the same things that the lg g stylo does

  • I bought the phone because my LG G3 died on me and this phone was a great quick replacement that I needed. My only complaint is the phone is very light. I have dropped it 2 times on concrete by mistake. This week I am waiting for my glass screen and case to arrive this keep from sellers on Ebay. I love this phone and plan on keeping it to use for me. I am going to get the LG G3 revived and give to my husband Great phone at a great price!

  • Just bought this phone. I like it. Does anyone know what kind of glass it has? None of the reviews say. I hope its gorilla glass

  • It will take a bigger sd card. Virgin mobile is just displaying the factory specs

  • cheap and good

  • 256gb, and also this handset have radio, also front camera is 8 mp

  • Thanks

  • This one will be better choice

  • Is morw pixel wise*

  • No. The LG Stylo does everything the Stylo 2 can. The only difference is bigger memory card, they say the LG Stylo only has 8g memory and the2 has 16. My LG Stylo has 16g. The camera, 6.0 marshmellow for the 2 and the LG Stylo is upgradeable from 5he 5.0 Lollipop to the 6.0 Marshmellow. The first stylo is raido capable. The second is not. There are a few downgrades from the first to the second. It's the same screen size 5.7 The second is a little bit thinner and lighter. I recorved an alert from Metro and I thought about it, but na. Not with it being mostly the same. Now, ZTE's newest that came out in Japan. That I want. Screen is either 6.0, 6.5, or 6.7 The internal phone memory is I think like 32 or 64. Memory card slot takes the 250 g. Processor speed is twice as fast as the stylo. Now, that is the phone to have. If your LG still works in top shape, I wouldn't waste the $$.

  • Ive had this phone for a month now and love it. For me, its powerful enough to do everything i want it to do and more! I play games like "kill shot" "GT2 the real racing exp." and "real boxing" with no lagging or hiccups. The 2g of ram really is enough for what i do. And for $100 i would buy it again. My wife has the note 3 and she has had problems right out of the box. But not the Stylo 2. I love the phone !!!

  • Does anyone know the capacity of the External microSD? Here it says: "microSD, up to 256 GB (dedicated slot)", but on Virgin Mobile's website it says: "microSD, up to 32 GB".

  • It has 2gb ram instead of 1gb 16gb internal storage instead of 8gb 13mp instead of comes with android 6.0 not just updates so the phone performers alot better

  • My lg style is slower than a sloth.my sister had same phone. Her phone was crazy slow also. I bought the Alcatel one touch IDOL 3 AND I LOVE MY IDOL3. We both got rid of our stylist. Too bad,it WAS a beautiful phone.

  • Please check your camera settings closely.

  • Yes its lighter and shaped differently but the camara sucks

  • Imo stylo 2 is better. Cz the only thing better in stylus is the 8mp front camera. Its ram is 1.5 GB compared to 2GB ram in lg stylo 2. And just with a few changes they have made the prices a lot different.

  • in my personal opinion lg has the best phone a have my lg g3 for two years and works perfect lg life is good :D

  • I own the LG G Stylo and it is one of the best LG phones in my opinion. I am considering purchasing the 2 but the only "upgrade" I notice is the increased memory and the increased camera MP. Would it be worth the extra $$ to buy?

  • Who in their right mind would do a 24-months installments on a $100 phone?

  • Who in their right mind would do a 24-months installments on a $100 phone.

  • Released in Indonesia already.

  • very nice phone

  • Lg is the best

  • We have it at Sprint as well, you can do 24-months installments

  • For battery saving. The higher the ppi the more it drains the battery. Idk hehe

  • shy low is space

  • Already...!

  • When this phone release to indonesia? Please answer!

  • That 410 tho, its too underpowered.

  • And also almost all have average battery

  • Wonder why most of LG phones has low ppi?

  • Is a prepaid (low cost) brand of AT&T

  • Which is better? Stylo 2 or stylus 2?

  • Looks great.

  • WHATS the cricket for then ???

  • That's the stylus lol

  • Is it like the iphone se? Recycled body with new features?

  • I would buy if 50-60 USD.

  • it will be a good option if price is around $100

  • a new way to re-use old parts! who buys these!!

  • What a shit! Whith that crappy soc! Waist money.

  • how much in USD? im confused. is this the lg stylus 2? or lg is really releasing two midrange stylus phone with almost the same look?

  • i think, it can be as cricket stick when u need it. :D

  • very nice phone.i love it

  • do you mean you need to pay for a higher price?

  • Used to own a LG G4 Stylus. Priced about the same, same specs, came out a year ago. Would recommend getting it instead. This is all just hyped up because it is better for people on CDMA carriers. GSM carriers had this kind of quality last year at the same price. It even has Marshmallow (at least on T-Mobile).

  • The 720p display with LG is cut down memory hog known as Optimus UX and big battery is awesome whats the price tag.

  • looks good, but what is that cricket thing on lg stylo 2, i dont get it?

  • Looks very promising :)

  • Make your own hp.See what you get!!!

  • I need full hd in when i have big phones...but hd can save more battery... Which i dont like is the under powered snapdragon 410...i mean... This is 2016 right?

  • 2 gb ram is somewhat enough. But thr 16gb is not enough, its enough if this phone marshmallow allow the sd card to be the default internal memory. Full hd screen should be the standard... I like big screen but the snapdragon 410 is not enough for me...

  • 2gb ram is plenty - with the right software. The Tegra note has 1gb ram and still works perfectly for everything. LG openly admit this is to combat the Note so it's not a mimic at all, it's a direct challenger, lower specs but a lower price too. Plus there are markets where the Note - with pen - is not being sold where this probably will be. LG just has to plan it right - the UK for one.

  • This is the feature that everyone is waiting for. Why not? Lg should go forward in this direction.

  • 2GB ram in "pen" smartphone ...what?! Is it for first graders drawing pretty flovers or what? Try to do anything else with it and you'll fail. With those specs i rather use pencil and paper for my projects! Not gonna say mimicki samsung note but please be real LG.

  • For the price I think is good I like it ;)
