Not sure why all the bad opinions on this phone, I love mine. Its large. streams video great. the OS is a breeze, the tiles are way better than the icon based IOS/Droid. Syncs with my Win10 PCs at work and home, free cloud backup for pics/videos, 128 gb expandable SD lets you install apps and use like an expandable hard drive (many droid devices do not). never notices the app shortage, plenty of games, links to my Xbox live and my Xbox One console, I can access my Xbox One console from phone, easy set up of multiple email addresses including my work and Gmail accounts. setting up my email account was easiest I've ever experienced. awesome intuitive OS with its original tile based system and the highly customizable options puts your generic hard to find, easy to accidentally move icon based OS options to shame. Because its so different than the same old same old and I have it customized it looks great, people come up to my and want to know what kind of phone it is. has Microsoft work, excel, power point + so much more already installed. free upgrade and ongoing support for windows mobile. fraction of the cost of the competition. not a flag ship model but awesome value, takes good pics. paid less than $65.00 with shipping for open box model over a year ago, holds up very nice still looks great. I can load any apps, setting or options I want and edit the tile size to access everything I use with just a quick tap of a finger. IF on a budget the Lumia 640XL is much better buy than competition. I recommend.

"Sony Extra Bass MDR-XB50AP" earphone not supporting in "Microsoft Lumia 640 XL Dual Sim LTE" mobile phone. It supported till mid of January 2017. I think that becasue of some new mobile OS update its not supporting. Someone help in this issue or suggest an equal earphone that supports and should have the same frequency response (4 - 24,000 Hz) and effect as the stated Sony earphone had.

I bought 640XL LTE Dual Sim back in October 2015. I was kinda die hard fan of Windows Phone because I was bored with Android and kinda annoyed Android's sluggishness. Was using Android on various devices for about 4 yrs. Realized after every update Android became slow. On the other hand, I had development experience on Microsoft Platform (.NET, C#, VB). So thought of picking up one solid Windows Phone device would be helpful. Well no doubt that this particular device is a solid one. It had good camera, great battery life (really good backup), relatively big screen, etc (Although not AMOLED but was good enough). Came with Windows Phone 8.1 out of of the box. This OS was way better than any previous Windows Mobile / Phone. I liked most parts of Windows Phone and best part of all, no hanging or sluggishness like Android. Although only 1GB RM, Windows Phone tackle it well. That's why don't ever directly compare phones with different OS nature, like Apple, Android and Microsoft. Windows Phone's memory handling mechanism is unique such that 1GB RAM was sufficient back then. The biggest problem for me and i suppose for everyone is app availability. It really sucked to the max. The only good and stable apps were like WhatsApp and Instagram. Instagram was in BETA quite long but it is is finally out. Instagram was really feature rich and mostly stable but occasionally crashes. Facebook was the worse. FB app has never EVER been stable on Windows Phone. Back in Windows Phone 8.1, FB app had update issue..Was showing up old stories in news feed no matter how many time we update. After Windows 10 Mobile came, became more interesting. I updated mine and my device was still smooth (no crashing or sluggishness like some complain). FB app improved but still sucked. Built-in Photos App only improved a little on Windows 10. I had so much of private files in my phone especially porn and there were almost zero 3rd party app that can lock my files or something. This is largely because of Windows's architecture. Every app is sandboxed, therefore individual app locking could not be achieved. Unless you have very special needs or super duper bored with iOS and Android, then don't get Windows handsets. They are quite left behind and need to catch up really a lot, especially on the app support part.

Please follow the below options. 1.check if the phone about section shows LTE.If it's not there then phone won't support 4g sim 2. Under mobile data you can change the option to 4g 3. Check if you are using a 4g sim.

Upgraded to latest Anniversary update of Windows 10 and mow my phone works like a boss. People blame about the OS but I blame them for not knowing how to use it. Good phone indeed, but the internal memory disappoints. 8 GB is not sufficient when the system files eat up as much as 5.2 GB of space and publishers of apps like Whatsapp do not allow the app to be moved to sd card. The telephone is of course worth of recommendation. System WP 8.1 after update runs smoothly. None the less it lags big time while browsing, internet explorer is a major misunderstanding in this case in the first place. 8 GB internal memory is waz too little for updates, apps etc. I would prefer 950xl more if it wasnt so much bugged. Unfortunately I switch to android moto xplay I really do regret it bcause the WP OS itself is way more advanced and better looking than android or ios but as i said, WP10 is undercooked and requires alot of work and patches to implement before hitting the market.

No, you are wrong ...nowadays android phones are so advanced that it is very easy to factory reset if your phone is lagging and restore your data up to the last call in the call log before you went for the reset. What i mean is that you won't lose any data if you have made a backup of all your data to SD card before factory reset.It is true that android phones will become slow after sometime , but you can always factory reset and restore everything in 5 minutes. So easy & convenient BTW I am a Redmi 2 user.

This is Windows, It does not support Android or Apple. It has it's own "Windows App Store" and no where as many of useless Apps as the other guys but I usually find what I need, not always. Most of the Apps perform flawlessly with no noticeable lag. Since my upgrade (FINALLY) to Win 10 there seems to be a slower response from one App to the next, not a lot but all load times seem a little slower I have received my third update from MS it seems things are improving bit by bit. There also seems to be an issue with Apps saving to the SD card especially when the phone was operating in the 8.1 mode (don't know if it was the phone or the software) needless to say I am running out of RAM.

Microsoft Windows smartphone market share continuously decreasing.But I am happy with my Lumia 640 XL it's almost one year old and yesterday I got new OS build 328 & till date I got 6 update in a year and Redstone update on it's way.Still preforming brilliantly I haven't found any reason to switch over for other options.Believe me fiends it still running with a charm not even a single issue I ever found in my Lumia 640 XL Smartphone.One point I would like to mention here Android phone hardly give such types of performance after one year.

Hey thanks for your reply. Although my phone is dual SIM, I only have one SIM card in SIM card slot No. 1 in use at the moment. My understanding is if call waiting is activated on the service provider and phone levels, I should be able to accept the second call that comes in on the same SIM card. This is explained to me by the Microsoft technician. Hence they are just as puzzled as to why my phone is unable to receive the second call even though call waiting has been activated.

The answer to your question is quite easy. There are two types of dual sim phones: - Dual active (you are on a call and can get call notifications from your other sim, hold that call and answer it); - Dual stand-by (when you're on a call, the other similar appears as disconnected when people are calling you on your other sim). Unfortunately, this Lumia is dual stand-by, as are (almost) all smartphones, since the makers only install one 'radio antenna', so when one sim is being used, the antenna cannot be used by the other sim card. I have only had 3 mobiles phones that were dual active, and they all were Samsung from a pre-smartphone era: Samsung C5212 Samsung C6112 Samsung B5722 Hope my answer helped you understand why you are unreachable on your second sim while on a call on your first one...

In my city (I leaving in a Capital city) almost all retailers shope Stop selling Microsoft Lumia devices.But they still sells some worst smartphone like obi mobile,zen smartphone(not about the Asus Zenphone),Vivo ,Oppo.....Gionee smartphone all these are just a crape but they sell all these crapes.Now I would like to share one more thing what I have perceived ,Microsoft can't handle Smartphone market despite of it's superior spec. they don't know how to sell and how to be in the market.Earlier Nokia carry Windows phone (Lumia devices) brilliantly whatever the market share achieved by Windows phone only due to Nokia efforts but with the same product along with Microsoft branding they fails to create any miracle.Look at the spec. Of 650 having(SD215 cheapest) so called successor of 640 Series having (SD 400 cheapest) 1st time I saw Predecessor having superior cheapest in compare to it's Successors.SD 215 actually a dual core architecture processor SD 400 series is Quard core processor. We accept at least SD 410 or 415 instead of SD 215 cheapest in 15K.It all proves that Nokia was the actual mind behind all Lumia Series till Last year including Microsoft Lumia 535,640,640 XL,550,950 & 950 XL.Microsoft don't have any future strategy.They don't know 215 series chipset is the rubbish choice for 15K phone we consumer are not a full why we accept these bullshit.

My 640XL Dual SIM bought more than 6 months ago does not have Call Waiting function. Have turned on Call Waiting at the phone service provider, and also turned it on on the SIM card level. Whenever on a call with someone, when a second call comes in, screen does not have "hold first caller and answer second caller" button. It only has "end first call & accept second call" or "ignore" buttons. I tried installing Calls+ app from store but does not help. Also updated to Windows 10 and thought the new software/firmware might solve this problem. This time when second call comes in while on first call, there is an "Answer" button but no matter how many times I touch it, it won't accept the second call. Bought this phone on eBay and it is an overseas model due to dual SIM. I've brought the phone to Microsoft Store and the technicians are equally puzzled & perplexed. However, they can't assist further because in my country (Australia), only the original single SIM version is sold and supported. Contacted eBay seller and unable to help. Can someone offer some help?

I haven't found any smartphone under 15K which beat Lumia 640 XL display,now I am dam sure about Lumia 640 XL 5.7" (720 HD) display is much brighter and more accurate in colour production,Viewing angles are great,White balance is just perfect,Sunlight readability excellent, Watching Full HD video with charm,on the other hand Lenovo K3 Note & A 7000 Plus so called 1080 Full HD display even J7 Super Amoled display ,Asus Zenphone 2 Selfie , Xiaomi Mi 4i ,Redmi Note 3 Full HD display is fail to produce good quality display all these smartphones are the best seller but its display is far behind in front of Lumia 640 XL. Friends its a truth,I came to this conclusion after various research.

Here is a thread that talks about speaker crackling issue but mine does it more while using speakerphone. Need to know if this is an issue with all the phones. Can somebody please do a quick test by using the speakerphone during a call and report results? Would be really helpful. Second - Glance screen in peek mode is not working properly. Sometimes when i hover my hand over the light sensor, glance screen does not work. I have a high quality Nillkin tempered glass installed with precise cutout for the light sensor so, that shouldn't cause any issue. Moreover, on my old lumia 920, i had a cheap screen guard installed over the light sensor but there was no problem whatsoever with glance screen in peek mode. Also, light sensor works perfectly each time when, i am on a call and put my phone on my ear which confirms that the hardware is not faulty.

Its a official update I installed Windows 10 in my Lumia 640 XL no issues till date.Only battery backup is less in compare to pervious version of Windows but it's a common problem with Lumia devices running with Windows 10 even 950 & 950 XL having less battery backup. Microsoft will fix these issues with future update.

Thanks dude, but how do u set this in the camera set on the phone? I once had the lumia 625 in 2014 and I got this 640XL phone on Feb 1st 2016. I also have the galaxy grand prime (since July 2015). both phones are cool. The android may lag (as everyone knows) but it is an OS with more flexiblity and appealing UI with diversities of app. Windows OS on the other hand is super smooth. For me, I think it's good to use both and have both smoothness on WP and the "goodies" that android OS brings to the table instead of dissing either OS.

@edwOsa You have an option to take the photos either in 4:3 or 16:9 ratio. You can switch b/w these two any time you desire. So no need to worry about it. I have purchased this phone 20 day ago and using it. Initially I was feeling a bit uncfortable because previosly I was using the android phone from last 5 years. But not it is all good, it is working very smooth, no problem of hanging as in case of androids. Definatly it is a better phone than an android device. Go for it.

Yes you can move apps to sd...not every one of them but almost every app...for example when i got it it hat about 2GB of app stored in the phone storage. I moved about 1.5GB to sd card which is a LOT...go for it

This is my second window phone and I really love it. Some minor issues are still there like videos downloaded using apps cannot be found in the files, PDF files received over Bluetooth are not saved in files, multiple files received over Bluetooth need separate tap and save command otherwise will be lost, and there is no option to pin protect my SD card by long pressing as I used to do in earlier Nokia phones like 701. If anyone could help me out or hope an upgrade may solve these issues.

I have a question. I bought lumia 640xl lte device and using it without any issue. My only concern is I have two carrier sims, one is Dialog axiata (128k) SIM which support 4G and other sim is Hutchison (32k) SIM which only support 3G. My issue is when I try to use data from Hutch sim, its only show H not H+ and its very slow. With dialog its working fine. I want to know why is that. Is it because of 32k SIM?

Boss, RAM is only 1 GB, because simply u don't need it for regular mainstream apps. Andriod App code not optimized hence needs more memory , but here Microsoft App framework itself optimized and do same when u compile your code Futher windwos phone OS kernel do runtime optimizations, garbage collection from memory automatically. further this OS leverage Swap File fuction ( pagefile) which is inbuilt , when needed :) So u wont need more RAM in most of the cases....

I bought the 640 XL LTE, on 24 th Nov 15. Since then I have not faced any problem. I had Lumia 920 prior to this. There are considerable improvements in this device.One gets all essential apps for usage. So cant complain. I only wish Microsoft becomes little more aggressive in promoting these devices. First of all… I bought this mobile from direct outlet in Chennai for a lesser price than amazon. I have been using it for more than 10 days now. I had IPhone 4s previously. The Lumia 640 XL LTE has excellent user interface and pretty easy to navigate to various screens. Though the specs seems to be of lower end compared to android mobiles out there, it does not hang at all, smoother and faster. Excellent responsiveness, guess it’s all because of the operating system – Win 8.1. The options are really easy and simple – can toggle and lock between 4G, 3G and 2G. Built: Extremely well built, the black colour and glossy white is awesome, matte white may easily observe dirt. The finish looks premium, its slim for a certain level and light weight too. Games: I have played Asphalt Air borne, Temple run, Lara croft, Brothers in arms, etc. – minimum an hour a day of gaming, all the above games were smooth and I found no issues in running them, no heating and lagging. Rank 9/10 Display: Jus 259ppi display – but nothing seemed wrong, it gives very good clarity output always. Display size is outstanding, would definitely call it a plus for this phone. Sunlight readability should be appreciated. 8/10 Battery – The first thing you will notice in the phone, it does not drain quickly. Lasts for 1.5 days, 25+12 hours with 4G internet, Wifi , gaming, Bluetooth, music etc. 10/10 Speaker – The output speaker is really good, gives crisp and clear sound. Mic & call clarity is also very clear. Very normal earphones, comfy for regular use. Music lovers should definitely buy some better headphones. 8/10 Camera – it’s “ZEISS” – simply remarkable, but only on daylight conditions. I felt the pics in the night (lowlight) times aren’t very good but definitely not bad. 7/10 Transfer my data from Microsoft is best! Cons : Apps support is really bad, Windows doesn’t have Clash of Clans game, felt bad  If you really need some clarity on the available apps, please browse all the available apps for Windows phone in google before buying. People say that Windows 10 upgrade will change everything, hopefully waiting for that. Sometimes the bigger and broader size of the phone is a misery, to hold and operate in one hand is simply impossible, you may also drop it if you are very casually handling it. Nothing else apart from these  In my opinion, it’s a better choice than Android. ( Android lovers - don't hate me )

I read many positive opinions about this phone which encouraged me to go for it. Yesterday I bought it for USD 241.00 and was very disappointed. Email can't be printed. Internet Explorer can't print the web page and has no setting for internet option. The phone recognised the SD only one time and after can't Word application cant add picture. If I keep on installing 3rd party application, there is no space left. Today I sold it for USD 164.00. I will never repeat this mistake with windows mobile phones.

Sensors in the smartphone specially proximity sensor and somewhat ambient light sensor fails to respond (no prompt response).But such types of issues will never or rarely comes in Windows phone.Microsoft and Nokia never use cheap quality hardware like that of Android phone.Lumia is the quality product.

very good phone and value for money, the downside is that you can't download any reasonable software/updates over cellular data you have to use wifi.Now if you live in public places or live in cities with free wifi this is not a problem, but if you live in surburbs or Africa, i would avoid any windows phone unless microsoft rectifies the problem. I'm using lumia 640xl its amazing Phone some people complaining about camera result but its camera result is really good. There are 2 types of camera 1st is Microsoft Camera 2nd is Lumia Camera. Go to Setting>Photo and camera> Chose Microsoft Camera then go to main screen by pressing window key slide down the menu and click on camera then you will see different camera interface and its result is much much better then lumia camera.. try this

Hi, I have a 640 XL LTE/4G Dual Sim Black 8GB RM-1096. I've noticed many people complaining about the camera of the 640 XL, but it's a great camera for a phone in this price range. One recurring problem I've found online is people saying the camera doesn't work and displays a notification that "Whoops, Something went wrong", or similar. You have to have the microphone in App Permissions under settings set to "ON" for the camera That solved it for me, and pretty much everyone else. Another thing I discovered through trial and error is that if you have the Flashlight XT app installed it wont work while the charger is plugged in. My one and only issue (so far) with tho phone is that ever since the Denim update (or perhaps even earlier), you can no longer store Lumia Maps on your SD card. It's easy to fill up the phone's memory with a couple of offline maps - USA alone is over 4GB! I think when you initially start the phone when you purchase it you can choose, but after that it's impossible without a hard reset. I think I must have chosen to use the phone storage initially. Anyway, you can transfer your apps, photos, videos, etc to the SD card using Storage Sense, but the old Lumia Storage Check app (with which you used to be able to choose where your maps are stored) is no longer available (for some bizarre and frustrating reason). So if ANYONE can find a way of transferring maps from the phone's storage to the SD card, I'd live to hear it! Otherwise this is the best phone I've ever had, and if you don't mind having only 13mp as opposed to the 20mp camera of the upcoming 950 XL, and you can live with 720p photos instead of 1080, (videos are 1080p) and you can make do with a Clear Black display rather than AMOLED, and you dont care that the processor is a Snapdragon 400 instead of 810 or whatever, then this phone is perfect, and you'll save a couple of hundred bucks too.

Jerry use the phones camera, upload on a pc and then comment with complete info, not fair to comment on something or someone without proper info, The Camera of 640XL is really good, Additionally, you can get more camera functionality via Lenses, such as Cinemagraph (animated photos), Panorama, Refocus, Selfie, etc and it offers white balance, focus, ISO, shutter speed up to 4s and exposure settings. Look into details specs, use it and then comment.

M Lumia 640 XL LTE- Availiable in Bangalore, bought this phone recently and its amazing, Touchscreen interface, cam, battery is very good, Defnetly value for money, comparing the OS of diff phones is not fair enough, everything has its own specific usage which depends on the user. we can only know the actual difference (be its advantages or disadvantages) only after using it. Finaly conclusion- switching to Lumia 640XL (WP) from andriod was a good decision.

i've been using for a while now. the battery life is great , i change from Samsung Note series to this , and to my surprised the battery last way way longer then android or compare to my sister's iphone. but there is currently a downside as Store has limited apps ( Game) but mostly Social Apps are available , Whatsapp ,WeChat,Line,Facebook,TeamViewer and all . This is more like a work phone rather then a gaming phone. The look of the phone personally i like it though is plastic look alike feel but when u put on a cover ,who cares what is the material as the cover itself its a new branding XD I would rate it 4.5/5

I bet this is coming from a person who haven't used the Lumia 640XL or a person who is really not knowledgeable about photography. There's a manual mode when taking pictures. I saw this phone and used it to take a couple of photos and have them transferred over my Xperia Z3 so I can upload the images online taken through the Lumia 640XL and I should say the images are sharp! Details are great and that is from a person enthusiastic about taking random photos and who has above average knowledge about photography. In it's pricetag, Android could make a very cheap looking and cheaply made device from outside all the way to the inside.

Hi I've been using the 640XL Dual SIM for a couple of months now. Compared to my Lumia 1520 I would have to say that it isn't quite as good. The CPU is definitely slower than the 1520. The camera isn't as sharp and the auto features are not as accurate as the 1520. Data speeds on Rogers LTE network beat the 1520. Wireless speeds are equal. BT connectivity has a better range than the 1520 however if Wi-Fi is enabled it interferes with the BT signal (choppy) I want to scream out to MSFT to start writing more corporate APPS, like Starbucks, and the like ASAP.

Nokia 640XL has a great screen resolution, excellent speeds, smooth navigation and excellent battery (even on dual sim card use), just to mention a few highlights. The phone is also light compared to its size. I purchased this phone as my second phone, but it has now taken position as my first phone after dumping my Note 2. I cannot wait for Windows 10. if you want a Lumia, this is definitely a phone to buy, above all this phone has better specs than the new Lumia 550!!

Not providing 4G update for 640 XL and making 4G available only in 640 XL LTE version will not be good consumer and market practice. Microsoft as of the moment has only one dual-band 4G device, which is the Lumia 638. Through software updates, 4G capability was finally enabled for some of its smartphones, but these handsets only support the FDD-LTE band. The upcoming phones will support both 4G bands, TDD and FDD, which will reputedly be utilized by Indian carriers Airtel and Reliance Jio Infocomm. In fact, according to Ajey Mehta, the manager of Microsoft Mobile in India, the new phones will support all forms of 4G in the country. They are also looking into the release of a 4G LTE version of the Microsoft Lumia 640 XL. Lastly, a release of a slew of Microsoft apps and services is in the works as well.

I found the reason. It was a tempered glass screen protector I got installed. It blocks the sensor which is close to the front camera. I removed the screen protector and now everything works fine.

After using various smartphones of different brand I can definitely say that Lumia 640 640 XL & 730 is the best smartphones under 15K.Display is very bright you haven't feel any dullness in colour colour production is very good even in lowest mode sunlight readability great .Yes among these 730 is the best in display (having 312 ppi along with Oled display best in class)and 4.7" great size for the smartphone.But all three is the best in class.Fantastic signal connectivity no network issue.WIFY is great.Battery at par.Camera unbeatable but (only struggle at night noice level visible),build quality is very good impressive one no heating issues .Windows OS now very improved and yes it's highly optimized OS.Some features are amazingly beautiful on Windows Phone.Take a chance and buy it.You will never regreat to have this masterpiece.

Both devices are good, the J7 is more powerful as it features an octa-core processor, the display is super amoled which is slightly better than IPS, but it lacks Gorilla Glass Protection. As said by many users, Windows Phone is more efficient than Android, so you'd expect the battery on the 640 XL to last even more, now the only problem is that some apps you'd find on the play store are not available for windows' users, anyway nothing to worry about as the most popular ones are there. Overall, I would say that the Lumia one is a bit better, now it's up to you to choose.

My Moto E 1st gen. After Lolipop update 5.1 memory leakage problem accrued.Network connectivity issue.KitKat version was much much Stable.Better to hold KitKat version.Such type of issues will not come in Windows phone and never heard such type of issue.But is common in Android devices.I don't know when Android will be stable and eliminate such types of issue really pathetic.

Lumia 730 having great display near to retina type display .Capable rear camera front camera is just a great but not as good as Xperia C3,and good battery backup.Lumia 640 Having nice display Not as good as 730,solid battery backup,good in camera.640 XL is again good display not like 730 & decent camera rear & front but not in dark in dark noise level is high and its visible too. 640 XL slightly bigger 5.7" 730 4.7" is just a perfect size easy to operate with single hand.Battery backup is at par simply superb.All three Lumia Smartphones 730 ,640 & 640 XL having great sunlight readability. XL 640 is a good phone for the 15K budget. There is a lack of marketing like others from Microsoft. Another thing is that the phones do not have dual active sim. Therefore the very ideal of a dual sim phone is lost. Again single sim ones are not available as in the international market. Microsoft should consider this.

Both the phone having similar spec and display.But 1320 having better processor dual core Qualcomm 1.7 GHz,Battery backup is 1320 better than 640 XL .But 640 XL comes with Windows 8.1 2nd update having less heating issue but 640 XL having much better camera than the 1320.1320 slightly bigger than 640 XL.I will suggest to go for Lumia 640 XL as it is the newly launched Smartphone by Microsoft.I have both the set,Go with the 640 XL.

been in android and iOS for many years, and after weeks of getting online and reading specs and reviews, finally bought one and been playing with it for 3 weeks now without complain -- well except for the limited app store, but thats all to complain for now. the camera is a beast. love taking shots with it. and selfies with wifey. my iphone6 now is purely reserved for work emails, and my xperia Z ultra has not been touched since. battery life is great. can't bring it down for a day of extensive surfing, music+bluetooth, movies, games. i have to say its growing on me everyday. -- now get me those apps!! :-)

I got my Lumia 640 XL LTE Dual SIM yesterday and I am so impressed byt it. I still have my Galaxy Note 2 and Iphone 5s but I must say I prefer the Lumia best. It was my daughter who advised me to buy one and I am absolutely impressed and do not understand why Windows phones are not as popular. The dual SIM works so well; you get the option to select which SIM you will use to call your contacts. Everything works so well. Now I will not need to carry two mobile phones. Love it. It is a beautiful and responsive phone and the screen is beautiful.

I personally will not go n buy 640 XL and then wait for the "OTA" update which has no indication and validation. If its just a matter of an update then microsft would have done this by now. Otherwise the world knows that the 4G compatibility is the hardware story and not just an update.

When will Microsoft luanch 640 XL LTE?? Its the demand of current market. If i have to buy a phone i'll definatly go for the 4G option because 6 months from now 4G will flourish in India. If microsoft has to regain market then they'll have to be prompt in action against competitor otherwise they'll keep loosing out its share to andriod phone. Windows 10 has a lot of potential and can revive the Microsoft market in India. But the customers asks for the latest technology in terms of hardware also.

When you get your phone out of the box you'll find 4 GB of free internal storge out of the 8 GB announced in specs (That's pretty normal because of already installed apps). However memory space is not a problem with windows phones as you can set all apps to go directly to the SD Card without having to move them manualy, so once the setting is on, any app that you install will go to the card.

In real world performance windows is better than android! it is lag free! im using Microsoft Lumina 640 XL and it is great! you never need a ton of aap! as well as we use 40-50 apps in genaral ! you get them easily from windows store. i was really shoked when i saw xperia z3 lolipop v5.1 using 67% of ram whether Lumia 640 XL using 48% of ram! for a daily driver windows phone are better! battery performence, touch wz are great! for an android phone you must use antivirus and clean app but windows don't need! windows is super optimised! lag free! go for lumia! go for windows!

I'm not an expert in that matter, but I think both SIMs can handle data connection, you just can't use them both at once, so if you're using SIM1 for web browsing, you won't be able to use SIM2 for downloading of a podcast for exemple, only one SIM is active at a time.

Use uc browser for downloading videos... All the videos downloaded via uc browser can b seen in memory card >ucdownloads folder.. Am using ma 520 for 2.5 yr... I never had any software or hardware issues... Also I played asphalt airborne(1.4gb) on ma device ..no lag..

Use "files" file manager app to manipulate(copy,paste..) all ur media files.. Use vlc or moliplayer for video player.. Vlc can support full hd .mkv videos.. Moliplayer can support any formats.. Full hd with dual audio support Avi,mkv,wmv,mp4,.flv.etc. Ur pc must b windows 7 is so that ur phone can sync with the pc.. Ur view all ur media files via pc.. Freinds, I have some quarries: is it true that , u can,t download over 100 mb file with 2g conection. u cant share audio video via whatsapp. download in background via i.e.possible or not? A downloded video file can only accesible through the app by which u downloded it e.g. u tube pro or uc browser. and downloded video file cant be shift in ur other device like PC or Laptop. Lumia 640 XL is nice choice.Under 15K you will never find such type of specification and build quality and very good camera, under 15K you will get only cheap Android phone Like Lenovo A6000 Plus A7000 ,Yuphoria ,Yureka...Mi note 4 g Vivo ,Meizu M 1 Note and some other brand like Micromax,Karbon,Lava,Intex and Spice etc...but after few months I am sure you are very dissapoint to buy all these smart phone.Because they all are very bad smartphone.You have option either you go for Microsoft 640 XL a complete package under 15K or you have to compromise with camera and go for Moto E2nd gen 4 g version a good performer in all aspect nice build well design and great performer in limited specification in Android segment You may also wait for Moto G 3rd gen. Just coming soon in a few week or in next month. Samsung HTC and Sony provides a good phone but only in high Segments in low segments their smartphones is just a apathetic reason no Android update and charges too much cost for the low Spec.

I have it for about 2 months now - my first smartphone ever so can't really compare. Pros - big, sleek and elegant, looks above its price, display resolution is absolutely adequate for me (can't see single pixels :-)), simple, intuitive and quick UI, camera quality is not up the level of my large dedicated camera, but good enough, battery lasts 2-3 days depending on usage. I also like the price and the GPS navigator. Cons - couldn't find a business app with some specific features, but that's about it. If anyone wants my advice (I very much doubt) - go for it.

Update your phone with the latest software, that will fix it. I have the same problem with my Lumia 820 bought from a popular online store in Manila (meaning not bought directly from the telcos or microsoft). The box says 820 but upon scrutiny of the inner back part, it says 820.1 meaning it was a 3g release, capable of 4g but not enabled. Software update fixed it. Hope this helped.

However, besides setting your phone to flight mode ( NOT THE best option) Microsoft's cellphones (Lumia series) have the "quiet hours" mode when you go to "configurations". All emails will come through without noises and you can also set this mode so that any one who calls you three times in less than two minutes will get through. Lumia 640 XL LTE was not released yet where I live, but I can guarantee I will purchase as soon as it is available. Make sure, whoever buys it, to buy a microSD card, for 8Gb is not enough.

There are important calls which records a caller has to keep but windows phones manufacturer over the years has refused to make phones with call recorders. This is quite absurd. Really glad i got this phone. Nice camera app, bright vibrant display. Nice audio , call quality & volume. The battery lasts at least 24 hours on normal use. Touch feels really soft & smooth. build is simply awesome. Although there are more fancier looking Phones around, this one looks more fresh and younger in style.

Im Using 640 XL since the day of its launch. So far its really a great experience. The only Flaw i found is the Display. But the 5MP front cam is not better than My previous Xiaomi. Rear Camera and its functios are awesome. We willonly get a 2.47 Gm to store date on Internal Storage even though it is coming with a 8GB storage. Rest of the space is reservde for system. End of the day, I enjoy using this, now i dont have to carry a Charger with me when travel, and now i dont care about using Facebook,whatsapp and etc , because im ceratin that the battery wont die so easy!!!!!

Firstly 8gb rom is enough. It is enough to store Contacts, Messages and most of what a basic User wishes to do. if you are the sort of User who wants to store endless stupid selfies on their phone then either get another phone or perhaps you can add a 128gb SD Card and then will have more than enough storage space. Next in terms of performance 1GB Ram is enough. the fact that some Android phones have 2GB or 3GB is just overkill and more than needed. You then say that 720p is not enough, it is enough because again not all Users wish to shoot in HD just as very few people want 4k or even 5k Displays for their computers. As far as a phone goes that supports 2 Sim Cards and both can be 3g at same time along with the ability to receive calls on both sims at same time it is pretty good and a decent phone. If you want a high end all singing and dancing phone just to impress others with then look elsewhere.

Why all lumia support micro sim? In Bangladesh (I don't know about others South Asian Countries, but hope similar as BD we use normally mini sim. And to use a micro sim base hand set, we need to take extra risk to made the mini sim as micro. MS should market all their set with mini sim feature, at least for Bangladeshi user.

Do u even know about the frequency bands which is allowed to operate in India its 2300(td-lte.4g) and not all the phones support this. But Lumia 640 xl lte would be a better move because it has the capability to operate over indian frequency. As mentioned in specs.

Windows phone are useless. I came from Android to Windows since I felt android is bloat. But Windows made me think that I can tolerate bloatware, rather than a phone that runs snappy with no app and Microsoft support and no value for money features. You can have a phone which is 5 to 10 years old rather than having a latest windows phone.

THE 1GB of RAM IS ENOUGH for windows phone. What's not enough is a processor speed! 1.2 GHz Processor does not load web pages as quickly as 2.2 GHz! I have Lumia 920 that has 1.5 GHz and pages don't load nearly as quickly as on Lumia 1520 (I regret dropping 1520. I is really the fastest and nicest Windows phone)

First- It's not a dual core device, there's a quad core processor inside this.. Second- Nokia's clear black display is the best thing among other to watch movies at night or in dark. I have Lumia 630 with only quad core processor @1.2ghz and only 512 mb ram. I had install more than 80 apps and have more than 60 live tiles. Still Lumia runs very smooth even I don't find any lag.i always love ❤ to use the phone 📱. Most of them don't understand the windows phone. Lumia 640xl is really good phone. Android need more juice to run smoother where as windows need less juice to run smoother. Don't very with less ppi it comes with ips lcd screen means more punch colours and also comes 720p so great at this price point. In my Lumia 630 as 850*450 still colour production is very good. Foremost thing is build quality non of the android device provide the good build quality but windows phones always and also updatable to windows 10. How many of the android device updated to higher version. Windows phone is the best choice.
