memory is not expandble.....!! bluetooth -go to the file n keep the stick on that file without lifting it up for 1 second,u'll find a flower.... keep it like tht u'll get a drop down menus like -open with -copy -cut -move to -rename -delete -share -properties sooo, in this,u choose "share", there select bluetooth n select therecipient which u wanna chooose...

Anurag, do not worry. When I bought L6 in second hand I did not have the Pc suite(sync) either. It is available at all the mobile stores, ask for Motorola suite cd. You will get it for 200 bucks. Or ask anyone of your friends who is using Motorola mobile for his CD. You can install it and give it back.

Memory is not expandable, you can access 58-60 MB of in-built memory. It is the basic handset in the touch screen series from Motorola.

I bought this phone almost 3 years ago. There's a CD that comes with this phone in which you can install the drivers so that it'll sync with your phone. There is also a cable that comes with is, the model is SKN6311B. I hope this helps.

Its immposible to find the software for download from motorola because they no longer support it except in certain countries, and even then its a huge ordeal trying to contact them. Your best bet is to look on E-bay for this combo that includes a USB connection cord and the phone's connection software/drivers on a disk. you can get both for about $15.00

I have been using the phone for nearly 10months now, without issues, until today when the Battery just got an issue and phone is not charging the battery at all ! I just got this phone and it rocks, however the sound coming from the speaker is way to low, I have tried everything to fix this problem as far as the settings go, I am thinking it might be a software issue, has anyof you had this problem? Is there an update for the rom or at least a replacement.

Tom go to settings and enable the USB net (put it from off to on) this should solve the problem. I have been using this phone for a year and I still like it.

I currently use 2 phones, a Moto V300 and a Blackberry 7230. The V300 is for pics and phone use. The Blackberry is the pda phone and receives email, (cheap)web browsing. I have some more comments for the same, and would like to share with you all. Let me know if you have any other queries. Following comments I answered after getting an email from a person who wanted to know more about the mobile. I answered his queries. Dear Pyaarey, I am planning to buy a A768i motorola phone. I believe that you are using one. I have seem your message on gsmarena : I am interested in knowing how easy to use this phone is, as a simple mobile phone. 1) Is is simple to dial from the touch screen by pressing it with the finger, or does it need a lot of concentration to confirm that the correct place has been pressed? [Atul] Yes, it is simple to dial. Additionally it has Voice recognition (VR) ability in which you will have to speak the name of the person you wish to call. (It understands American Ascent, though). If voice recognition system recognizes correctly, it will open the details on the screen and then you will have to press the Call button to make a call. 2) If it try to close the call, will it immediately close, or does it require repeatedly pressing one or more buttons? [Atul] There is an END button. Press it once will cancel/end the call. Just one button press. 3) Are the address book entries easy to search? [Atul] Search is something I like most. you can search by Name/Number/Other details (Email, address, etc). As a PDA, I would like to know: 4) Does it sync with the PC over USB easily [Atul] yes. 5) Does the phone hang and require reseting? [atul] actually, when you start so many applications, like picsel browser, VR , and then you try to open any other application, then it displays that you have less memory to run the application. I haven't encountered phone hang. 6) Can I easily enter notes, expense accounts and save them? [Atul] You can create Notes (Only txt files) and save them. However, using USB, you can copy PDF, Excel (Sheet1 workbook only), doc etc and you can read these docs. 7)Can answer incoming calls easily when working on something else [Atul] You will have to open the flip window to answer the call. However you can set the setting according to your wish as (a) flip answer the call - answer the call as soon as you open the flip window (b) dont answer the call when open flip window - rather it will display a choice, busy, Ignore, answer, choose one to respond the the call. and as a music player: 8) Is the music quality good over the headphones? [atul] yes, music quality is good. Camera quality is not good as compared to other Nokia phones. However, if you shoot in a bright day light, then the results differ. Quality is much better. [Atul] I hope that I answered all your queries. I haven't able to download any games so far. So I dont know how games behave in this phone.

The battery is real bad.The camera resolution of 352 x 288 pixels, video 176x144 pixels is a big joke because with this kind of resolution u cant expect anything.Also though the phone has a MP3 player the speaker volume is so low that its awaste.

I am using it past 3 months. Pretty cool features it has. Though facing problems to communicate it with my personal PC (Win ME OS) using USB port. I dont know what setting should I make for OTA (over the air). It has some nices features. Cool right click options. Camera quality is good if you take pictures in Bright light. Plays MP3, bluetooth functionality is good enough, and secured too. Secured means nobody just connect unless you supply a password and user at the other end supply the same password, then the phones will gets connected. I haven't been successful to do GPRS settings to utilise the feature provided by my network provider Airtel's Airtel Live. Overall, I really like the phone. Voice Recognition system is not that good because it recognizes words in different accent though. PDA functionality is also really cool!! I really love this phone after using Nokia 3310 for 3 years:).

I have been using the A768 (less memory than the i model) as a back up to my iPAQ 6365 and I think it's a great peice of kit. For me 3 problems: 1: Cannot find any additional applications. 2: USB to PC connectivity can be flakey. 3: Picsel is a better file viewer than browser. On the plus side: Good MP3 support, even for ring tones. Long video sequences can be filmed. Good speaker volume for speaker phone, movies, etc. Reliable and fast. Anybody find some apps please post here.

realfunkie, i don't currently own this phone but i'm using its earlier version - the a388c, which operates almost eactly the same. you don't have to open the flip to answer a call if the phone is attached to a headset - just press one of the buttons on the side & you're connected. when using the camera/video functions, since it's not a "call" i don;t think it will use up any of your talking minutes, but it will use up your battery life. you can always download the manual on this site & read up on it. david

Hi, Is there anyway to provide a security code (like in Nokia phones keyguard on/off feature) in Motorola A768i. There is a Phone Lock password which is useful when phone is switched off and On. But is there a security code all the time? If anyone knows please let me know.

I am a heavy mobile phone user as a result of my work. I am dissapointed with this model as the software is not up to scratch. Switching calls reguarly causes the software to "crash". Heavy usage seems to do likewise, or reading a message while two lines are on the go, etc. There is also a problem with the volume control, which tends to all too easily cut off the call when adjusted. Furthermore, the camera is one of the worst on the market-I would go so far as saying a pointless inclustion although obviously not the reason for me buying the phone. I would also like to have more information regarding its SAR rate rather than only Motorola's standard SAR description at the rear of the manual.

There is no option to keep the screen active when closed. This is consciously done to avoid battery drain. The huge TFT screen needs lot of power to keep it going ...

hey i have taken this phone through the ambassador offer by Motorola. This is my 3rd phone and every moment i spend with it, i marvel at its technology and fully packed features. I have one problem regarding the phone. How do I transfer files from the computer to the phone without using the theme assistant? I have switched on the USB NET in the phone but i get the error "failed in trying to connect to Motorola phone! Pls verify that your phone is in normal mode and try again later." I have reset my phone lots of times but am still getting the error. Please help me someone and i would be happy if it would be step by step.

Hi Shiv! Please try to use CSD setting when using Piscel as a internet browser, it always work! If someone is sending attachment thru Yahoo or Hotmail( in Piscel ), then get a EDGE phone is much better. GPRS speed sucks!

Hi, More than a Motorola fan, I am an ardent Linux fan. that's why I bought this in the first place. On the whole the phone's gr8. Been using it for 3 months now almost. I still maintain that Picsel has a problem. If anyone has been able to use hotmail or yahoo. and by use I mean the way they would on a pc.. attach files etc. Please do let me know. Regarding the document being too large problem... it still seems that you are trying to load a html document using the wap browser. incidentally the wap browser is marked with browser icon and html browser is marked as picsel. my office email syncs beautifully. usb sync is perfect! IR and bluetooth are gr8. However file of size > 1mb dont seem to be sent though receiving is possible. Motorola support is crap. esp in India. Speaker voulme is less even at the max.

this phone has had me mesmorised since it arrived yesterday, as devang stated it only gets better as time goes on. here in the states no one has really seen it and it has amazed people.. the only problem i have recieved is the internet function.. but that is due to the service provider, because they want to keep phones that they dont yet supply out of peoples hands.. in all if you pay under $550 american dollars for it, you shouldn't be too disapointed.. on ebay they are relativly cheap, however if you can get it through your service provider you should, so you dont have to deal with costumer service tellign you no.

I'm have been using A768i since December2004. It is a very good phone at a pricing of RM1,700. It would be better if there are: 1) Showing animation by pressing the right side key with the flip closed. The analog clock just doesn't look nice 2) Pack a cleaning cloth together! i really have to clean the screen daily. 3) Get a higher rating battery than the original 780mAH. This phone is power demanding! Beside all these, all the things work well and stable. Including the Piscel Browser(Tip: You've the use CSD setting instead of GPRS!) Lastly i'm very appreciate the Chinese Handwriting input, writing chinese SMS is never been easy!

Checked with Motorola India. Was told, in order to use the picsel browser for surfing, one needs to use high speed internet access card offered by the service providers, eg. for Hutch - Hutch Access Internet Card (exact terminology might differ). While choosing "connect via", this connection (Hutch Internet in this case) has to be chosen instead of GPRS. For loading hutchworld homepage using normal browser, I am yet to hear from Motorola India.

I have the same browser problem as Nima and Shiv. Using the normal browser, I can view google and barely few sites. But yahoo, hotmail, indiatimes, etc. etc. does not load. Says "entity too large". Even, the hutchworld page does not load. Using Picsel browser is even worse...absolutely nothing loads. I type in a website and after five mins or so, it says "the document is faulty, and could not be converted". And that is for www.google.com. Strange. I am using Hutch GPRS connection and could visit all sites with my previous Nokia 6820. This one just beats me. The Motorola support is almost non-existent and keeps on passing phone nos. of people who have no clue. Would appreciate if someone can respond knowledgably.

Do the following. Start with the following conditions: Ensure that there are no tasks to begin with. On the Home page, select Communication > Theme > the current theme. Set the text size to small. (There is no problem with the Medium and Large size setting.) Create task one after another giving them numeric names starting from the number 1. In this way you will create tasks with the names 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10. On creating the task 11, you will find that it is not visible on the screen. Also, you will not find any vertical scroll bars. On creating the task 12, you will find that neither task 11 or 12 is visible on the screen. The vertical scroll bars will still not be visible. On creating the task 13, you will find that task 11 finally appears. The vertical scroll bars appears with task 11. On creating task 14, you will find that task 12 appears on the screen. Each time, two tasks will not appear on the screen. Its as if the third task will push the first to the screen and at least two task will remain off screen. Also, the number of characters for each task notes is limited to 140 characters. This is too less.

Hi Nima, You need to use the Picsel from your menu. What u r referring to is a simple wap browser. Go to picsel from your menu and enjoy! It even supports HHTPS.

It's a good phone. Menu is not very user friendly if u r used to a nokia but there's everything you need. Camera is so so. Apart from that I find it good. Email works flawlessly. GPRS, Bluetooth and IR are good. USB connectivity is also good. However I feel I made a hasty decision considering the launch of 9500 at INR 41K in India. Any buyers for the same?? Brand New Condition!!!

Can someone confirm that the A768's voice dial cannot be activated from a Bluetooth Headset? Find this quite a letdown. Just got an A760 2 days back and it has exactly the same problem with the voice activation, as well as crappy voice recognition implementation. I have got this phone myself and i have leant and analize all feature. It has only 59 MB Ram in it only. Everything is quite fine in this phone except for bluetooth feature where the headset provided can not by itself activate voice dialing and voice command. Voice command is a great feature but just like the one available in pc application, it is far from perfection esp in noisy environment. However, the look is really cool and its smaller size (when compared to other pda phone) is very handy and convenience.

If this phone dosen't contain all the features advertised, I suggest contacting Motorola and complaining. Blatant false advertising is a matter for trading standards. Also if the phones are faulty, send them back and demand one's that work properly.

I bought 2 of these phones for my wife and I to use. Liked it at first. Biggest problem I've had was I received calls without the phone ringing, only having the phone rang some 2 hours after the real phone call. Somehow the phone just stalled. It happened just about every single day. Gonna go buy another one without this linux OS.
