Got this May 2013 and still using it. For a few months now the flash is faulty, as in it om;y sometimes works. The sd card gets full really quickly even though I only have two downloaded apps. So every month you have to go through each and all your apps and delete data. Since there are so many pre-installed apps that you can't delete it's a pain. The plug cover of the headphone cover detached about a year ago, because I use headphones with my phone often. The phone itself IS water proof. I accidentally spilled a lot of water on it and thankfully nothing happened. You can't take screen shots with this phone either. My brother had the same phone but right after the 1 year mark it stopped working so he had to get another one out of pocket.

The major positive features about this phone are the display resolution and the fact that it can fit pretty much anywhere because of it's size. It can even fit easily vertically (horizontally too) in your shirt pocket!

you can get kitkat from here. make sure you flash an earlier version of cm first( like cm10), then flash the latest cm10.2, then flash cm11. I'm running the 30 june nightly, and it just rocks. This phone got so good after the update, upgrading makes absolutely no point for me.

Ok this phone is super good and the same time not convincing : for the design its good it is like an iphone in the hand but the screen is big 3,7 p I like it .applications are working smartly and some wedget are new and applicable in motorola defy than even in I pnhone. Water proof I throw it in water more than 6 times .camera 5mp but not like 5mp of samsung not convincing .some times while browsing it blocks so you have to take off the battery. Sending some thing by bluetooth for pic. Its ok buy for songs I don't know how I tried many times without result. However its a good phone buy it.

Sadly no, unless you want to try your luck on rooting/hacking. There is information xda for doing so, but there is the risk involved. Beyond that you might want to look at getting a nexus, like the newest nexus 4, for consistency of updates, if it's permissible to your wallet, which is considerably little compared to every other high end phone, 1/3 the cost.

stable JB roms among all i used are Xperia D 4.2 by mato_d007 (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=21336­98) and their source - Quarx's CM10 4.1.2 (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=17687­02) they're all good, might be better that those other dual core Moto custom roms (Atrix, Photon, Droid3) and other low brand dual cores i used, it's that smooth, no stutter at navigation, no phone or camera issues, only bit too slow data transfering via USB but it's a very small issue, still usable, in fact it's my daily driver overall, Defy is the best among all single cores, hardware and software wise haha

my battery last at least 2 days minimum with cm9-android 4.0 properly set. the phome is good, the android 2.1 or 2.2 is bad. please verify ALL the syncronizing settings from ALL your apps including GooglePlay ,Google+, Accounts and set all to MANUAL and you will see the difference... disable all vibrations, animations, use the phone SENZORS only when you need them and you will have at least 50% more speed and more than 50% of battery.

Download the ROM here. I had to flash SBF to china ROM to get onto BL6 then root, then install 2nd init. Then this ROM works great. Very stable and good battery life.

I bought this as it was billed as rugged and waterproof. It is both those, but it is not all I had hoped. The software is full of annoying little glitches that drive me mad, the ear speaker and loudspeaker sound quality have deteriorated to barely useable and the user interface is nowhere near as intuitive as an iPhone. Glitches include things such as; I receive a text, open it to read it, tap message on screen to reply and the phone inexplicably - but not always - goes to the message from the previous sender. You cannot see this on screen as you type your reply, and only discover this once you have sent the message. Also the message you are typing starts to disappear out the bottom of the box and does not allow you to scroll down to see what you have typed. Infuriating. I will not be getting another.

yes you can use fm radio through the loudspeaker by connecting the hand free and choose loud speaker in radio options... some builds allow to use fm radio without connecting the hand free but in good radio signal ...like cm7.2

I have been using this phone for the past 1 and half years. Never had the slightest of issues, it is perfect. I am running JB 4.1.2 (CM10) and having no issues at all. Many of my friends preferred Samsung over Moto, because Samsung had more service stations .. all their mobiles visited the service stations atleast once .. my Moto was rock as ever .. still going strong .. wanna get another Moto to replace this one .. however Moto have stopped their operations in India .. waiting for X Phone .. will buy it at any cost .. Moto has always been the best phone for me ... I trust Moto for any number of years to come ...

I have had mine as first smart phone for over two years and very impressed. its sold as waterproof (if bungs are in place). Dont try this at home but mine fell in foot of water for about 20 secs and worked perfectly when i fished it out with no water ingress. battery life is good. i brought second battery for very modest price but never really needed it.

Do not buy this phone! stay far away. It freezes and is sluggish when just a few apps are running and crashes with viber on. Have to pull battery to get the phone to restart. I am almost finished with my 2 year agreement and I am now on my 3rd Defy. For a basic phone and limited apps, it's okay, but still overheats and stalls. Great camera, great speaker system, but using either kills the battery quickly. Oh, and the 2nd replacement phone only lasted 4 months.

My Defy is runing like mad on Cyanogenmod 7 (Android 2.3.7). It is 4 times faster than on stock Android 2.1 or 2.2. Here are short but sweet instructions: Root your defy with SuperOneClick (https://www.box.com/s/y3cc0q8nxasgi5jeu6jo). Then download latest STABLE version of cyanogenmod 7 from here: (cm-7.2.0-jordan.zip, do not download UNOFFICIAL or NIGHTLY builds because they are in testing phase still). Than download and install Android SDK from here: (They have extensive guide for installing and setting up). And lastly follow this guide: (You have already gained root access, so skip first step!). ENJOY your new DEFY! :) Oh, install ADW LAUNCHER EX, it will speed up transitions even more. :)

I have been using this phone from the last 1.5 years. Besides it is a battlefield phone with the rubber body, and minor almost unperceptive screen scratches who has survived a lot of drops, it is a very unstable phone. With a lot of lags, freezes, the battery drops without reason, sometimes I need to take off the battery in order to reset the phone. The root and the Android 4.0 kinda improve it, but stills freezing, you cannot leave the 3G on, because will drop the battery in a matter of hours. I really don't recommend this phone to anyone, I think I will keep this phone like 6 more months.

It is virtually impossible to break this device by rooting/installing custom roms as the bootloader is still locked. Great phone. It still supports and runs Jelly Bean perfectly fine.

I'm nearing the end of a 24 month contract and will be glad to never see this phone again. Constant screen freezes and lagging has been a problem from the start, even with very few apps/widgets installed. Resetting the phone would help for a short while but in my opinion the user shouldn't have to do this twice a month to get a phone to function. What attracted me to the phone originally was the compact design, sturdy casing and android OS. I still like these aspects, but overall I would never recommend this phone to anyone.

Just write Defy quarx and you will find it on xda Jellybean for defy. On version 18.11 max 5,5 days on battery. Quarx works on 4.2 anyway.

You need to be VERY Good at following instructions- one false move and the phone is a shiny paperweight. This method voids warranty and overclocking can reduce hardware life. Read around this forum and also, you must follow the instructions! Your device is codenamed "jordan" so look for a .zip concerning that.

You can buy them on ebay that is where I bought mine, it works good. Especially after recalibrating the battery, it now lasts long time. Of course now i wish I had the samsung Note 2! That is the bomb.

Awesome thing is about these phones is when they do break, I threw mine down on the road, it's only the screen that fails. A new screen and face is under $40. Disassemble, replace, all on your own. Easy as Pie, then it's good as new again :). Damn strong processor and chipset for this price range, it's always happy to be overclocked and runs up with the big boys...well, almost :)

Wow you really got bad luck. I got 2 of these phones. 1 was supplied by my company and one is my own. I've never had a issue. in fact the 37 other field technicians who have them have never had a days problem. If you wondering why our boss decided to get all of us field technicians this phone, because it's water resistant. we often in some damp situations :)

This is really a very good phone if you are lucky to get a good one. I have model mb525 and had no problem. I installed some roms now I sticked to cm7. it ups the processor to 1.1 ghz. battery consumption is good, smooth in menu. everything is great but I want to sell it to get a bigger screen :D if I could get such a phone with bigger screen I would be happy

When did you purchased it? All Defys purchased after April 2011 come with 2.2 preinstalled! Also if you aren't worried about losing your warranty (which can be easly returned) you can update to Jelly Bean!

Hi, Can anyone tell me how to download a notepad to my motorola defy mini? My booklet tells me to go to the market icon but there doesn't appear to be an app called market. I am also told to go to a website called marketandroid.com which I did and searched for notepads and tried to install but this was unsuccessful. Do I need an a/c to download ? Everyone I know seems to have iphones and are unable to help ?

I am facing issues with the touch screen.both the touch screen and soft keys becomes "touch insensitive" frequently while watching videos/plyaing games in landscape mode, again the touch screen and soft keys becomes "touch insensitive" and sometimes the keyboard just appears and keys gets touch by itself. I have to each time off\on the power switch to get the touch back and there is no need of rebooting. to solve the problem i have done the following 1:format the sd card 2:cleared the cache partition 3:did hard reset. but the problem is still there.

I bought my Motorola Defy+ nov. 2011. It started rebooting 5-10 times a day .... 2 times I got te phone back after a factory 'software' upgrade ... I kept on rebooting ! This time I found out that switching frim WiFi to 3G mobile internet was causing the reboods. After sending the phone back, they sent me a new Defy+ (diff. imei). Put in my card and this one also started rebooting !! after trying 4 different providers, the problem remaind.Customer service told me this was 'theoreticly unpossible'! ... I agreed, adding that it was PRACTICALLY POSSIBLE !I sent it back 2 times after this ... for "software updates" ... so after 9 months they still couldn't sent me a functional phone !! The Motorola Defy+ needs a recall or een honest reply if this failure pops up. NO MORE MOTOROLA PHONE'S FOR EVER !

Great phone. Almost 2 years after it's release and mine is still alive and kicking. Ran without a sweat everything I've thrown into it. The newest games and all (yes, I'm talking about Nova 3, Batman - The Dark Knight Rises and such). Custom ROM development is strong and constant (a must on Android devices, stock ROMs are usually bad), I've just recently installed Jelly Bean, and so far the releases have been daily, with each new version correcting a few bugs. In no time, Jelly Bean will be fully corrected for Defy. All that, and I'm not even mentioning it's durability, which is awesome. The only regret is it being a Motorola, so official updates are inexistent. However, as I mentioned, custom roms are plenty, so not a big issue.

Its best phone in the price range of 15-20K. I challenge. Screen(size & resolution) is very very impressive. Touch response is awsome. It has unbeatable gerilla glass. No scratches at all. Best for rough use. Nothing happens if it falls down. And ofcourse water resistant. Battery is good if you do not keep office mails active. Good sound(loud). soft buttons (4 buttons down the screen) are very useful compared to other phones. Fonts are so cute, decent. (Samsung smart phone fonts are not good). Its reliable. Reason for non-popularity of this phone is : no advertising. Thats it. Few people are saying its sluggish. Thats not correct. If you keep other programs open and make many features active, defnitely, any phone of the same configuration would be sluggish. Similarly battery backup. If you keep features (like wifi, bluetooth) active, it will eat away the battery charge. Its applicable to any mobile.

I have owned the Defy for 1.5 years and it is a great phone. I get slightly better reception than most of my friends. Battery life is average with other phones. I talk for about 60 mins a day(not a big talker) and playing games/surfing the web for a few hours and it will last about 2 days with that type usage. It has been fast enough to run most apps and games without issue(OEM Android) I installed Cyanogen Mod on it after two months and that makes the phone feel like new. CM7 gives me about 10% more battery even whth it overclocked to 1Ghz.

I have had my Motorola Defy for the past 8 months. I have found the phone to be easy to use, fast to send text messages,as it has a on-screen QWERTY keyboard. It does go very slow occasionally, but if it slows down too much, I just shut it down and reboot it, just like a computer. I have found, as of yesterday however, then when you stupidly leave it sitting on a car boot, and the car takes off, the phone bounces rather well. So well, in fact, that it has been impossible to find it ever since. It must have broken, though, as it rings a couple of times, and then beeps. Oh well, no better excuse than this to buy another Motorola Defy. This time it is the updated "mini" version. Apparently all the functions are the same. The screen is just a tad smaller.

I had the exact same problems you mentioned, Defy sucks in its stock form. So just root your phone install CM7 or CM9 roms from XDA forums and change your Vsel settings. The phone will become ultra slick and you will never regret buying it.

The worst ever customer service by any company i have ever experienced or heard of... Motorola India. I got a brand new Motorola defy plus on 25th April. After 10 days, i started getting hell lot of issues. Then on 19th may i gave it at the service center. And today, its 16th June, i am yet to receive my handset. I escalated this case to Motorola Customer care on 4th June. And since past 2 weeks, all they are telling me is We haven't got any updates from our service team. We will get back to you as soon as we get updates from them. So, please wait for 1 more week. I am not even sure if i will get my handset back. At first place they should replace the handset as i got all these issues within 10 days. and i submitted the phone to them after 3 weeks time. But, they are saying it's not in our policy. And they are not even repairing it. Now, i am extremely frustrated. I invested 15000 on a wrong brand. I feel cheated. If any concerned authority from Motorla sees this please help me out. The Defy is a terrible phone out of the box. The hardware is great, but is has been poorly programed by Motorola (lagging, crashing, unresponsive, etc.). Root it, put custom ROM CyanogenMod7 on it and it's a great phone....

I have this phone for nearly 8 months now and it has been a nightmarish experience. Clearly my first android experience has been extremely bad, all because I chose this. Basic things like picking up a call, reading messages are so painful at times that it feels like hell. the touch screen behaves as it has its own mind at times.. applications get clicked automatically, sometimes even calls also. after suffering for initial few months, I overclocked it thinking it may improve the basic performance but no help. Lastly to end my rant- I think they made it scratch proof, shock proof et al as it is bound to get thrown, drowned and kicked a lot :). I give it to them- it is indeed shock proof. May be I got a lemon or do any of the other owners have experienced similar things? Just felt like I needed to let out the steam.

I m going to advise u that before installing new rom with CM 7 or CM 9, plz consult ur defy service provider. I installed both ones bt it cann't work, both times i had to reset my defy. So try to install those roms which have built-in CM7 / CM9 and avoid to install separately. Further i will refer to xda.developer the best forum. thanks

Hello, I want to share my experience on the Motorola Defy + purchased from Germany. The problem was that often reboot. I've tried a lot of what (4.5.1-134_DFP-231; 134_DFP-4.5.1-139; CyanogenMod 7.2; CyanogenMod 9 and the other, I thought it necessary to change the baseband, which helped a little.), The result was the same but actually helped to: SndInitDefy_2.0.apk Android Bootmenu v1.0.7-jordan System + -> + Overclock -> + Scaling ................... -> Remove the "[COLOR=red]ondemand[/COLOR]" to any other. But the most stable when the battery is running low, a [COLOR=green]Conservativeed[/COLOR]. In this mode, restart come to an end.. Changing the System i + -> + Overclock -> + Scaling: "Conservative" -> works very well.

The reason might be that, you've set your phone on data saver mode. To disable this, go to settings>data manager>data saver> then uncheck the data saver tick. That should work.

Owned a defy for the past 3 months. After updating it to CM7.2 RC1, the phone has simply blown my mind with its awesome performance. My suggestion to all defy owners, get off the stock Froyo 2.2 and upgrade to CM7. You'll never regret it. (Respect to the CM7 team)

hello there.am a proud owner of this great handset.to deal with the problem of black screen all yu hav to do is reboot the handset.whilst yu are rebooting press the volume down key and a screen appears with a droid or sumthng.simultaneously press both the volume keys and you will be in the recovery section.now restore to factory settings and after wipe data cache then reboot the phone.you will be back in the game.hope this will help you. cheers.

Do not buy Defy. Very unreliable phone, needs to be formatted almost every 15 days. Pics u click get corrupted after sometime/ or it will not capture pics. Data leak- Consumes like hell...!! 4 Months and i regret my decision.

defy is the best in class phone available in the present market. I have been using the same from past two months and felt well better than other phones. You cannot find a mobile with 1ghz processor, gorilla glass,water resistant,scratch resistant,dust proof at the cost of 14800. If we compare defy plus with nokia 710 (windows phone), ofcourse the configaratiuon will be more in nokia. But we should understand that for running windows platform the minimum requirement is 1.4ghz processor. Also u cannot extend the memoy,cant transfer files by bluetooth without zune software,cannot cut the phone calls at one touch(nokia is developing a software to over come this).

i had a zte blade and bought defy second hand on ebay, runing cyano7, set battery with minvselect, after 2 weeks of twisting this phone, i can use 2 days medium use, and it s fast. games run flawless (FIFA, NFS...). it s a old phone, second hand, and the screen has no scatch marks.the phone has been droped apparently, marks on the back. for 106 euro (ebay)I am very happy.would like to install defy+ battery on the defy, and latr install ice cream sandwich when stable.

Phone sucked. It lags too much, freezes, and resets. When it was just about 8 months of owning the phone, the mic was broken, so I had to use the speakerphone till I had it replaced. Now it's idiotic self won't work OUT OF NOWHERE(Didn't drop or had anything bad happen to it in the past 24hrs). Bottom line, don't buy it, don't buy any Motorola Phone(I previously owned the razor, and a slide phone, which both's keypad fell apart)

It's basically your average android phone. If you've not had one before, the most it'll take is a week to get the hang of it. But I've gotta say, it's a pretty amazing phone. P.S. I have this phone. And I've rooted it. Now it runs on cynogenmod 7.1. If you get it, I highly recommend rooting.the phone works faster.

With the stock firmware the phone sucks big time. After installing CyanogenMOD 7.1 ( android version 2.3 .7 ) the phone works like a charm, no hangs, no flaws, and the battery lasts longer. I strongly recommend on doing the update to this custom firmware ( be aware that it must be done by someone with experience )

It sucks! It sucks in every single way! I never had a telephone who sucked so much, it is unstable! Always got freeze, ALWAYS! I need to reset it, almost every day! GPS? Forget it, it freezes! You will be lucky if he told your location without being freeze! Also, Bluetooth? It sucks, you will not be able NEVER to synch with a laptop, no matter how many times you try. And, this telephone freeze at least ONCE DIALY!, and it is not smooth. Hi all! Posting back after installing CyanogenMod 7.1 stable by Quarx (11-11-11 build). I am completely blown away by the speed and performance!. Excellent! Can handle 1 Ghz of CM7 perfectly fine, although battery life has been reduced because of that. I get a little better battery life using JuiceDefender. Waiting for CM9 now i.e. ICS! :)

Explorer is as bad as a Wildfire S which is slightly better than a Wildfire. Wildfire S cannot run Angry Birds. Defy can. Wildfire S has terrible screen clarity. Defy has a fantastic screen.I think you need to revise your statement.

I would recommend the Defy+ for you. As LG Optimus One packs Android 2.2 Froyo, the Defy also gets update only to Froyo. A Defy+ with a newer Moto UI and Gingerbread OS would suit you better as an upgrade from your LG Optimus One. As for the audio quality, Defy or Defy+ doesn't come pre-installed with much EQ settings, but you can always download music players that have good EQ settings from the market. Definitely recommending the Defy+

Been using it for a year, dropped it hard couple of times and its been in water, mud and sand. Took the beatings pretty well until its last ugly fall, the screen bleed but found a replace screen with tools and guide for $24 on eBay. Root and install CM7 for best performance, don't forget to backup the original Rom. Everything runs on it just fine.

My defy is one year old now. If it breaks down (but it won't :-) I would buy exactly the same device ! The best about this phone is the form factor : small and light ! This is a great phone. Ive had it for about a year now with no problems. I've rooted it and uploaded android 2.3 to it and over clocked the processor to 1.2 Ghz with no problem of heat. I've dropped it in a pool about 3 feet and still works with out complaint :-)

The camera is much better than I expected! Yesterday during a sunny day in Wellington I took 5mp widescreen pics and videos, then transferred them to a USB stick and plugged it in our 42in LCD TV - Wow, I am impressed! The videos are clear, with vivid colours, and the photos are sharp and not pixelated at all. I did have to convert the videos from the Defy 3gp format to mp4 (done with the free Super Video Encoder), but 3gp plays just fine on PCs and will upload to YouTube and Facebook with no problem. I also have compared Defy 5mp pics with a Sony Ericsson 8mp phone camera and a Nikon 8mp digital camera; the result is the Defy is better than the 8mp SE and is surprising close to the Nikon. Of course there is no optical zoom on the Defy, and in low light there will be more noise with mobile phone cams than digital cameras. After one week of ownership I was very thankful that I got a Defy because I dropped it onto concrete - but no problem at all - the screen and everything was fine. I have studied *many* user comments here on gsmarena and can confirm the positive things that have been posted. During this time [late Dec 2011] Defy's have been offered at bargain prices and that helped me to grab one, and I am glad I did not get an HTC Wildfire S or an LG Optimus Black - they are good but imo the Defy beats them. BTW, I have not yet upgraded from Android 2.2.2 mainly because I am not sure if that will void the warranty and also as a person new to Android I am happy with version 2.2.2. Many people ask if the Defy will do video calls. No it cannot because it does not have a front facing camera. If there is someway to use the normal back facing camera (holding it up to a mirror so the other person can see you), I have not found how to do it and assume it cannot be done. Skype voice will work, of course. Battery - it has lasted longer than expected. As others here say, you can get 3 days with light use and one full day with heavy use (although hours of continuous game playing will quickly deplete any mobile phone). In any case, I purchased a spare battery as I will be traveling in SE Asia soon and may not be able to charge it easily. You can get cheap generic batteries so if you are worried about battery life get one, or a genuine Motorola battery (as I did). Finally, if you have not used Android before, get ready for some fun! It is a challenge, but if you like to learn and explore, then you will have a good time. Otherwise, get someone to show you the ins and outs of Android :-)

I just got the DEFY. The actual feel and workings, screen scrolling and menu selections, are smooth. I own a motorola ROKR E1(sluggish compared to this unit), recently sold my X10 Experia(similar inter face), and still use my Motorola ROKR E8(smooth but limited options). Well I'll be damned! I have an iPhone 4 for personal use and a motorola defy for my work Phone. I work in heavy construction areas and always have it in my pocket (the defy), even apparently on the heavy duty hot wash cycle in my washing machine! But I'll be damned it was still in my pocket! A very impressive phone for the price. Very fast and excellent screen. Even usable in direct sunlight. Don't care for MotoBlur software. The keyboard is almost impossible to use, letter spacing to close together. This can be fixed with 3rd party keyboard from Android Market. I flashed a 3rd party ROM to get Gingerbread. Now it is an awesome phone.

as of now I haven't faced any Hardware issues.. if anything happens I can take care of it myself.. but please remember to mod your device only when you are prepared.. once you do a mod/root you device you lose your warranty.. that is you no longer get service from the makers..

yes.. your warranty is void.. but who cares.. its really awesome to have your android running cyanogenmod.. they make your device faster and better.. and note that defy comes with 2.2 froyo.. (the most unstable version of the androidOS series.. hell lot of bugs..)

this phone is kickass guys.. used it for over a month now.. (use a htc sensation & galaxy s2 too).. * i have modded it.. runs gb 2.3.7, underclocked it to 600mhz.. and yet it scores 1434 in quadrant.. i used it @1.2ghz/1.3ghz and the quadrant scores are 2525/2700.. plays 720p hd (playback).. * coming to gaming.. i got to play all available games out thee.. 9mm,nova2,backstab and shadow gardian ( to name a few) and remember these games are not officially released for defy.. and it plays without a lag.. * battery comes around 40hours.. (use it @600mhz normally, @1.2ghz only while playing games).. use juice defender too.. * hardware is ultimate.. with day to day errors, it provides good resistance against scratch and water.. (have once washed the phone after an accident where it fell in a vessel with food) *Bottomline: buy this device only if you want to mod/root it.. and be the administrator of your phone.. it never lets you down.. this phone is for hardcore performance.. not for style statement.. * (p.s well the quad scores of my htc is 1947 and s2 at 2746, never modded/rooted them)..

In one word.. its awsome!! I bought Motorola defy for 14400 from Telephone Shoppee, pune. I preferred to buy it from local shop because there you get a chance to check if everthing is working fine before you pay! - Best phone in the 12-18k range. - Preferred over SE Neo V because of Sturdiness, better look and same performance at much lower price. - Screen display is awsome!! 480 x 854 pixels, 3.7 inches (~265 ppi pixel density) - Batter life is satisfactory. With heavy use lasts 1 whole day and with medium use lasts 2 days. - Froyo 2.2 hangs sometimes. After a while memory intensive games like "Racing Moto" hangs because of poor garbage collection in Android 2.2 - Flashed CyanogenMod7.1 (Android 2.3.7) and its playing HD games, video and all like anything.. :P Planning to buy android phone in range 12-18?? Go for it!!

every motoblur designed handset has only one type GB Ui rom..just look at atrix .everythg same..defy+ rom runs. smoothly on defy at 1100mhz..but cm7 is still better in overall performance except 720p rec..(unable to push 720p patch on cm7.a main draw back of cm roms)

Its been almost 2 months since i got this phone n i am gonna point out a few things that might help prospective buyers. Moto defy is my first Android phone i previously owned a Samsung Corby pro. Motorola Defy: The haptic feedback touchscreen is flawless. It works like magic. (10/10) Battery life: Battery life is good as long as you dont install a few rogue applications from the market which drain your battery(7/10) Camera: Camera is average its not as good as you would expect a 5MP camera to be, but its not bad like how some of the reviews suggest. Its good (7/10) Music & Video: The stock music player is pretty awesome , it auto detects lyrics n the music player volume is loud. (9/10) Video player is good, u can download and play most video formats n the clarity of Hd videos will definitely blow your mind! (9/10) Messaging: The messaging font is slightly small but you can install Messaginf Apps so thats good as well(7/10) Android: I got the stock 2.1 version n it works fine i still get to do everything i can think of. Have not decided on a upgrade yet Games: You can play Hd games like Raging thunder etc n it so far has supported every game i have installed. No prob(9/10) How durable is the Motorola Defy>? I am not one of those freaks to have tried slmming the phone on the floor or dipping it in water! It definitely is rugged and light weight! It fell from my bed a couple of times, not a scratch. As I know so far... Official v. 2.3 has released But I bought about 10 days ago was installed from Factory is V. 2.2 And many of my friends using CM7 as you wish as well But... I think it was not easy like you download and install like application in Market. You need some skill or educated preparing before working on it to use CM7 or any Mod ROM. For now... I'm still using Official Factory v.2.2 ROM Coz I'm learning on how to Root and install Mod ROM :) to make sure that will not broke my Defy ^_^

Go for Defy Man.I promise you won't regret a bit.;) And Defy + has same features except 1Ghz processor. For that you need to spend 3K more bucks. :P. 1ghz can also be done in old defy by using CM7(its a software). Defy can be overcloked. SO its my personal suggestion that go for defy..

Its on U. I don't use any screen gaurd. Screen touch is just awsome. And its' made of Gorilla Glass. So you won't need any Screen Gaurd. But If you want to be extra possessive for your screen you can use it. ;)

Had bought this phone in Feb 2011. I have to admit this is by far the best phone i have ever had. Previously owned galaxy 3 and was really unhappy with samsung. Motorola defy is exceptional in terms of performance and ruggedness. Sometimes i wonder is there anything this phone can't do. Have modded this phone, played 3d games , played 720p videos and no lag or difficulty at all. I hope motorola keeps the Defy legacy alive and comesup with newer Defy models , because will be only going for motorola defy series phones in the future. At the given price range this is the best phone ever made. 5 stars for Defy

Most probably you have enabled "Data Saver" feature Goto Settings > data manager > data saver > see if "Enable data saver" is on If its on, device will postpone market downloads untill you connect to Wifi

After too Many researchs on Net I got my Motorola defy. And I am not regretting a bit.:) This is the best smartphone one can ever had. :) At this price Moto defy would be the best choice for you All. I was stuck between Samsung Galxy Ace, WIldfire S(HTC), HTC Salsa. But I finally went with Defy. I know that Motorola has very bad service in India. But you won't need any service issue in Moto Defy.;) So why to worry for. Afterall 14-15K is a much money to spend for( Not much for those who are working in a MNC. :\.. But for me (Student) It was too much.),So don't go for Samsung Ace ,as it has very poor touch sensitivity , and I don't know what is the 800mhz is doing in Galaxy Ace because even Angry Birds runs very Slow. Huh..!!Forget HTC wildfire or Salsa And Go For Moto Defy. It's touch quality is more than awsome. And any Game on it is running like butter on hot Knife.:P In India Dust is A problem, Unexpected rain is Problem.. LOl. So You want to spend your money on a phone which can resist water and dust too.:P. This is the real Piece of Technology. And yeah This piece can have some problem(I didn't get any yet), But At this price Bachhe Ki jaaan Loge kya? remember Nothing in this world is Perfect.;). The warranty has not exactly been void .. You can use RSD lite and flash froyo version of the region u live in .. This removes the fact that the phone had been rooted .. and hence getting back your warranty too .. So all u gotta do is flash using RSD lite .. :)

i bought my defy last april 2011. this phone rocks for this price range. you just have to root the device, upgrade to nordic froyo then, upgrade to miui. i have been running miui for 2 months now and i've got to say, its fast. current miui version for defy is 1.10.28 using the latest android release version 2.3.7.

Hi Ravi I got the mobile for 15000 from Lajpat Nagar,Delhi.....the performance of the phone has been awesome for me...as i said in my review i felt no lag whatsoever app i was running,battery backup is also good(at least for me),the camera could have been better but its still good...and the stock froyo is quite stable...i would recommend you to buy this phone as soon as possible

Well i bought the phone on 27th oct and have been using it by then and my experience using it has been amazing ...no lag felt yet,camera quality is good under light and fair at night,battery backup is good(mine lasted for 1.5 days without charging on heavy usage), best of all is that the stock froyo seems very stable and can handle anything with ease and doesnt slows the phone....just wanted to know is there any way to make the phone come to life using the home key(without using the power button,to be precise)

After keeping the phone under water or tap...the ear piece goes numb....cannot hear much...and after few hours gets back to normal..also through back camera and flash water passes inside a bit...should this happen?? Or any has experienced this ? Or is mine a defective one?

yes, You can check which application is using more battery. Go to Setting > Battery Manager > Touch the battery Icon , it shall give you Usage statstics.

Sorry for the late reply .. And the answer to both your questions is YES ! 1. U can disable haptic feedback with cm 7.1 2. U can also remap the home button to awake ur phone :) And everyone with the froyo update on the DEFY out there .. it is really unstable .. Thats the reason I switched to a custom rom .. The defy is a powerful phone .. Just don't let Froyo irritate u :P

i am pretty disappointed with this phone. i have upgraded to froyo and the phone lags and hangs and just plain crashes regularly. its a pretty ordinary device. on the Australian telstra network. doesn't have front facing camera, main camera has very average performance/picture quality and also lags. i wouldnt recommend this phone to be honest and very wary of purchasing another motorola. hopefully they get better now google owns them as the user experience on this device sucks

No GB update for Defy, SAD :( Motorola no loyal, missing my Nokia, Nokia dose updates the firmware untill the hardware is the limitation. Motorola stopped support for a phone which is not even a year old. Foryo sucks on defy. In future I am not going for Motorola and neither Android. Nokia is better. Nokia ROCKS!!!

Tried that, resetting factory default but no luck. and once its starts showing CPU 100% then battery drains drastically and soon it gives message to plug charger. Is there any tool or application which can show which application or service is using so much CPU ?? other wise I have to root the phone and change the firmware.

I got it oct'11 start..since then its hanging and getting hot from just below the battery and battery also...is it a hardware problem..or because of software..i cld see via taskmanager that CPU is 100 percent...when it hangs...and I cant receive calls when it hangs..that the caller will never know that my phone is hanged and I am unable to hear the ring...is there any way to find out which software is causing this problem or I should contact service center ?? any one can help pls?

I am using my Defy for last 2 - 3 weeks. Once you tweak it a little bit, then it is an excellent smartphone. First thing you have to do it to switch off the GPS. GPS sucks the battery. Make sure you use WI-FI, Bluetooth and Mobile data only on demand. So most of the time it should be off. Keep the brightness only 25% or less. That is enough for most of the time. With these settings, I am getting battery for 2 days which I think is very good for an Android phone.

I had just purchased defy and has been struggling with basic functions like text editing, browsing, etc. The battery life is awful inspite of boasting 1530mAh battery. Screen quality is far inferior then Samsung AMoLED worst part is the touch screen that gets operated on itself. It has not been supporting 3G services from tata docomo, the very thing smart phone is meant to do. the silver lining out of all these odd problem is its asthetic look and handy size that can easily fit in the pocket.

Bought this phone in April with the stock 2.1 .. I loved the phone .. Got a bit laggy at times but a task killer solved this problem .. When the 2.2 update came out and I updated it .. The worst update ever .. Haven't actually come across such an unstable update .. Started to curse myself on buying this phone .. Then came across the Cyanogenmod rom .. I decided to give it a shot .. Managed to install Cyanogenmod 2.3.5 and trust me this phone is a beast.. The official stable Cyanogenmod 7.1(2.3.7) is out and have been running it for 4 days and am loving it .. 1. Good battery life 2. Not even a bit slow .. Love the response 3. Hats off to the DSP settings .. Love The EFFECTS 4. Its just plain awesomeness ! Anyone who has a problem, I recommend Cyanogenmod .. For it makes YOU LOVE YOUR DEFY !

I brought this mobile 2 weeks back,.... @@@@@forgot to mention...its android 2.2 without motoblur...it also dosent allows me to sync my contacts with facebook...dont know why..while gmail/twitter works fine. Camera is soooo poor (RED lense)....flash is not at all in sync with shutter...so images are generally dark...even with flash....good thing is screen sensitivity is very good..i like its design..tiny led for indication is helpful....expecting version upgrade for OS to improve its overall performance inclding battery and camera.

I brought this mobile 2 weeks back, it hangs several times, need to keep on removing battery cover and restart it. It sucks....I know..no issues with hardware..is all because of the junky software ..its operating system. And the worst thing is you never know when your mobile is in hanged condition ...and if some one calls u in that time..then the other end will here the ringing tone while there will be no activity on your phone. ...what a stupid problem is this. I have to keep on checking my phone within some intervals to confirm whether its working or hanged. Battery is also a problem..need to put it for charging twice a day alteast. installed cyanogenmod 7.1 with android 2.3.7 - I used stock 2.1 and 2.2 before and I can tell you cm7.1 definitely killed any wish to replace this phone - if you can sacrifice your warranty cm7.1 is 100% worth the effort to install (took me about 25 minutes including setting up my PC, downloading ROM, rooting my unit, bootloader installation and everything !!!) + even battery lasts longer. If you're afraid you might brick your phone - give it to someone you know who can do that - believe me, you'll be thanking him - it's like a completely different and much better phone.

Hi, Since home button is capacitive ,do I have to hit the power key all the time to switch on the display or do we have a easy method.COming from Samsung series,I find their home keys more usefull. I have this amazing mobile from last month. 1st of all it doesn't lag in performance n if we talk about apps n games , I have installed nearly 100 of apps n even I got amazed whn no single apps give lag each n every apps n games performed nicely . Lets talk abt hd games so I found I really unbelievable that games like nova,splinter cell hd ,gt, asphalt runs very smoothly without any lags. N regarding battery its good in it performance,if u r getting full signals if not thn obvious half of battery drains out searchig for signals.

I got my 'Defy' last week. Its camera is very poor and Battery drains like anything if you talk for a bit longer time. Only these two cons..rest everything is awesome in this phone..speed is good enough..sound quality is much better than average...screen is amazing withing its price range...WiFi works very good and same with EDGE...I have got more then 100 apps installed (including preinstalled) so need to restart once everyday. Using 'Regina' launcher which is fast enough. But I feel...there are lot of improvements required in Android (was using N82 earlier)..but yes "Defy" is fantastic. I am loving it!

We're not lucky, motoblur comes pre installed..And you got it right, it will be running in background after launcherpro install. It can be removed but that is very risky, although I hardly observed any battery wastage. Yup, theft included. I had a very bad experience a couple of months back, so I opted for that. Cyanogen mods are bit controversial, some say it voids your warranty, so havent done it yet.

I bought my Motorola Defy one month back. Its really osm mobile. Regarding performance wise its a Master and initially my phone's battery life was upto 30-34 hours, but suddenly my phone is radiating so much oh heat energy n thus mobile get so much hot..Due to this my life stands only upto 18-20 hours even if i keep it ideally whole time.. and my mobile get heated even if i keep my mobile ideal.. Hey guyz I bought my defy 2 months b4 by flipkart 4 rs 15500/-. IT took 5 (business)days to have my phone. When i bought it i saw th e camera wasn't working i felt heart broken, bt the video rec was working just fyn, soon enough i took it to service center. Those dumb heads didn't solve the issue & gave back my fone.I already knew that it was a software glitch I took a risk of updating to official froyo update via net by myself & thank GOD the camera started working fyn. REVIEW:- I am using fone multimedia & internet function more than just gaming. CAMERA: as gsmarena review says Camera is not par with rival 5MP phone such as galaxy ace & all. Saw it with my own eyes. Low light photos r dumb. Full of grains & dots even photos took near to the tube light. Photos took outdoor is avg or above avg bt when i zoom it looses its clarity quite quickly. On positive side shutter time is much better than Galaxy Ace so we can take photos quickly. Video Recording: Almost ok. nice resolution better than galaxy ace stock froyo. AUDIO: Pretty much loud.Louder than Galaxy S. Speaker dosen't loose clarity in top vol. but i wish 4 more sound bcoz v Indians live in a noisy environment. Headphones R just average & the bass effect is again avg The option of EQ is given inside the setting which is a pain. The bass boost option didn't give the req Kick into my sony headphone. Other options (surround sound) have grt effect. VIDEO: Stock player is dumb cant support AVI Of normal DVD rip films,high resolution video caused my fone to hang 4 the 1st time when i bought. Added Rockplayer superb app bt the fone hardware cant support video above 720p FLV files(avi i think its not that much of a concern plays almost fine). So HD video is a no go. 480p videos goes out of sync with the video & song while playing(Video lags behind). BEWARE: The fone doesn't have sharing of songs via Bluetooth Yes DID any1 see this bug:: I was quite shocked to find out such a big omission. But i added a blutooth sharing app & it is working fyn. The Bluetooth sometimes is a pain coz it will nt send files to the other fones. It arises only sometimes it makes me angry#### Internet I didn't find any lag @ 1st but later wen we use browser 4 15 -30 mins then RAM gets filled up then it makes it Lag. thank MOTO 4 providing Flash its a good feature & helps me to use the fone as my Desktop computer. Online Streaming of films (Not youtube) bt from other sites causes a small hiccup while playing coz itz nt optimized 4 mobile works fyn with me. So am happy with that. BATTERY: I accidenlty switched on my WiFi & 4got to switch back off but the battery stayed up till 30%. 4 me it stay sup for 2-3 days coz I dont make long calls or SMS so That's it. My Daily calls will not exceed 10- 15 mins. seldom calls last up to 30 mins. CALL QUALITY & RADIATION: Superb call quality the ear piece is a delight to hear. & Minimal radiation. My friends warned me that moto fones usually have high radiation but this 1 doesn't have that much radiation(the radiation is on par with other fones). Usual 15-30 mins talking wont heat up my fone. while using internet by wifi heats up. RAM: Though its said that 512mb ram is there, the actual ram is 478 in that 1/2 is consumed by Android system so end up with almost 220 mb memory.(This may vary to others coz i use to clean up my ram b4 openning any apps.) RUGGEDNESS: Fall out of my hands almost 15 times no problem works just fyn. bt i didn't duck the fone in water to test the waterproofing but it is said by moto in the case that if u wanna duck the fone u must ensure the caps must b closely sealed up. MUSIC PLAYER: It is awesome finds out lyrics for English & some Hindi But can't find Tamil & Malayalam song lyrics IT can find u the video clip via youtube. It's a cool feature & u can see others who r listening to the same song as u world wide. that's awesome feature I liked it very much. GAMING: Though I am not so addicted to gaming but I have installed famous free games such as angry birds, GT racing etc... So lag or hang while playing the above games. That i can guarantee you. racing thunder lite causes rare hiccups but after that settles down. OVERALL : Its a compact fone it have almost all the bells & whistles yet it s significantly smaller in its dimensions. So it is very hand than galaxy s or ace. This is a awesome fone with very good hardware it have almost on par with galaxy s specs same CPU with under clocked speed Same Ram A bit lower graphics almost same screen size( 3.7 defy- 4 glxy s) YES the cryogen Mod will bring the beast inside defy I will defiantly change it to CM7 after my warranty.

I am using this phone for the past two months. It is overall a good phone to have it is lacking front camera, and HD video recording but it is very sturdy built with scratch proof gorilla glass. Same issues with the GPS lock as other phones locks fast if had internet if not takes atleast 10 - 15 mins and depends on weather.

In some of the forums you can read abt upgrading it to gingerbread No lags in the last 4 hours of using it.scrolling & navigation pretty smooth Angry bird plays pretty well and hung only once.. call quality crisp and clear..i got it for 13.7k in delhi..between xperia mini & defy my vote goes to the phone which i just bought :D

A brief answer to your questiones regarding Motorola Defy: If you have broadband connection at home, you might have a wifi radio too. Please check or have it checked by someone skilled in LAN. If you don't have wifi, buy a wifi router, you can get a decent cheap one for about 20�. If you enable wifi at home you don't have to worry about data plan. Otherwise your data consumption could be estimated as something between 10 and 50 MB per month. Motorola Defy has a Gorilla glass which is roboust and scratch proof. Of course, there is no glass, which could sustain extreme damages. Motorola Defy is intended for outdoor use and therefore is also waterproof and dustproof.

Hi everybody! I have this phone for a while and to sum up: GREAT PHONE! I LOVE THE CAPACITIVE RESPONSE ON IN AND THE RESOLUTION IS IMPRESSIVE. As negatives: the water restistance is questionable after a while the rubber seals fail but it is definetelly a sturdy solid phone for intensive use. Baterry is great. How i use it it lasts 2 easily! I have this phone since 2 months, i'm using it daily for web and phone features, the battery holds for about 3 days top. I reached 5 days on stand by when i had only one call and i kept the phone with 3g and wireless off. It came with android 2.1 and i made the update to 2.2.2 using the motorola update software ( the only way to do it ) The phone features has changed since the update ( camera settings for ex ) and it seems to be more stable, at least for me because when i first got the device the phone was freezing a lot, after the update i didn't had any issues. Careful what apps you are using from the Market as it can make the device unstable ( usually the case on all devices ) some are most compatible with the device rather than others, you will need to test the apps. Google should integrate an compatibility ratio for the Market depending on the device (the rating doesn't help )

I bought my defy 6 weeks ago and i`m happy with it. Why? Because: - calling experience is good; - is fast and not lagging; - music player very good; - camera is good in good light; - battery stand for 3-4 days with two and a half calling hours, moderate internet browsing on 2g network and a few pictures made. Ofcourse when i installed a lot of applications from market + calling + playing 4-5 hours on it the battery last 12 hours; - i updated to android 2.2 and rooted the phone; - for extending my battery life i am using: juice defender on agressive profile, built in 2.2 Task Manager for Auto-End list to end selected applications after 2 minutes of inactivity, custom battery profile from battery manager and undervolted my processor with SetVsel; - also using Task Killer pretty often to kill some apps. Bad parts for me: - no 720p or 1080p video recorder; - gallery in data manager does a lot of internet traffic, no one knows why; managed to stop it by installing Droid Wall from market and block it, but this will also block you`re downloads; - no smart dialing; - i experienced twice black screens and nothing to do just to remove battery and start again. The Defy is a good phone. Not perfect but very good. Screen is large and clear, sound is good. Phone functions are OK but no smart dialling. Bluetooth is excellent and there is an edit facility for pictures. Browsing is generally fine. Downloading Apps speeds up some sites. Online use is battery hungry but aren't they all. Overall an easy 85/100 and for size, weight and robust quality I prefer this to the iPhone. The latter will of course do a good deal more and has considerably more Apps.

Just looking at the color of the Lens WILL NOT tell you the lens type. Use an app called CatLog, run it, Press the 'Home' button on your phone to go to the home screen, start your camera, close it, then open up CatLog again, search for CameraCommon, check if module is Bayer or SoC (Bayer is the better lens often referred to as 'red lens' you can buy from eBay, seller gplanet at Rs. 13,990, his models are bayer module aka 'red lens', very good seller. i bought from him too... The battery of my Defy which is 9.5 months old has developed a strange fault. Since the weekend it is taking a long time to charge up. friends, last week i bought DEFY priced around 13k, today i've opened it... got a basket of gift full of FRAUD. when i entered 3G sim on it, it goes on the on-off loop. i changed the sim to airtel 2G but it badly hanged after 3 mins.. all the buttons stoped working. finally i removed the battery and restarted it with some home........ faced the same problem once again. the whole battery discharged within 3 hrs.. when i left the phone hanged for a while, and became too hot to touch. every effort to turn in ON go on veins...... i'm feeling totally cheated and embarrased. my first android phone experience... nobody should ever get these type of experience. please help me out........ i want a replacement of the product.. but motorola cc says... we'll repair it is it justifiable to manufacture a faulty item....... and repair a mobile having life span of less than a day????

In reply to your questions... it uses gorilla glass, so yes it is scratch resistant (not un-scratch able but really hard to scratch), and battery is acceptable for an android phone. You cannot "upgrade" the processor but it is the same chip used in many other phones clocked at 1Ghz, so you can overclock it to 1ghz safely (you need to root your phone), some have even clocked it to 1.2Ghz safely... as for android 2.3, it is supported, currently there are CyanogenMod7 Roms as well as leaked 2.3 ROMS that can be used on Defy, more will come later, and since it is the same chipset as Defy+, the ROMS will hopefully be compatible. All these can be achieved if you are willing to get your hands "dirty" by rooting and installing custom recovery (yes it will void warranty), if not, then you need to stick to the original ROM and configuration which may be a bit slow.. :D

Comparing the defy with the Acer liquid mt,i see that defy has a lot of better features than the acer... in fact, the defy is waterproof(can be submerged to about little more than a meter in the water). well i see that the defy is much lighter than the liquid... so, it will feel light in your hand... by the way, the defy comes with 2 gigs inbuilt memory... and the liquid dosent have radio... so i bet you will like the defy more...

I am using Wildfire S for last 1.5 month. I recommand you to go for Motorola Defy. I too selected Defy & Wildfire S earlier but choose wildfire S for latest OS. but with my experience i will strongly recommand Defy. Android is Superb. Anyone wants to select the android phone, do check these primary criteria. Atleast 1500 mha battery, large internal memory (Very important) and excellent screen resolution, sturdy hardware. Android 2.2 is more than enough for all sorts of Applications & Games. Hope this ease your phone selection. :-)

Dude... you dont need a phone with a faster processor... the processor inbuilt in the defy is already that good... what you need is to overclock that processor... the defy is really cool, and works great... only overclock it to about 1.2ghz... it will last for a day or two with full usage... no problems with overclocking... some samsung phones cant be overclocked... but thank god, the defy supports overclocking... ;)

My first one after just one month of use, and now the one T-Mobile sent me as a replacement, after about 6 months. But yet, the music player stops automatically after 2 minutes after the display times out. Even re-booted the phone after removing from the auto-end list. Uninstall drivers after backing up it's original files...then restart ur PC and then clear it's registries using any registry remover like Tune-up Utility,then restart PC and reinstall it, if done then Thanx me... IF NOT then put ur SD card out of it and try to connect if not then Unroot ur phone by removing rooting files from phone memory then connect if no then contact service center...and then say thank you... :)

The phone is best in mid range and Defy+ will be out in couple of months I think. The only advantage in that is 1GHZ processor and Battery. However outside you have lot of custom roms to install if you want Gingerbread.. Overall Defy is much better phone and I would recommend.

i brought DEFY few months back and happy with its performance but i face/realise some issue with its speaker and its heat up. you can't not talk more than 20 min without using headphone, it keeps buring while you are taking. Another thing which i am missing is FM on speaker. only a single person can listen FM. Rest is fine with this Cell.

I've had this phone for about 9 months now and it finally died. It worked really fast in the beginning but now it won't turn on anymore. The phone got progressively slower and slower and more weird things started happening. Before it died, it would call people randomly and continue calling them until you took out the battery and restarted the phone. Sometimes the phone would shut off randomly. Sometimes the phone runs so slow, typing a text will take FOREVER...you could press a key and it would take a good 10 seconds for the key to respond. I was also told the screen was "scratch proof" which is not true...I have several scratches on the screen. Some features I did like: The camera takes decent pictures during the daytime or in natural lighting, I really like the swype text. It's water proof (so long as all the plugs are closed). I also liked the size, it's not bulky or huge. The buttons across the bottom also made it easier to navigate through the phone which I liked.

I don't recommend this type of cellphone. I had problems with the regular speaker and i was able to hear only with the speaker phone or with the earphones. I sent my phone back to the repair center and it had been 2 months from now without any response from the motorola company. Really bad experience so, i don't recommend it.

A great smartphone, I use it since 6 months and really pleased by his quickness and definition, the screen is tough(no scratchs for now) and I'm not using a small pocket to protect it... The battery is ok to keep it alive 2 days if you don't play games and do little duration calls but if you play a lot you'll have to charge it every day at least, it's not really a problem since you could charge it using usb

CAMERA PROBLEM AFTER UPDATE 2.2.2 after this update I was experiencing problems with the photo not displaying after using the flash and also the scene mode had disappeared from the camera menu, so i did email Motorola Australia and i did get my camera working by following the instructions below, actually mine repaired by clearing the camera catch ect ""Dear Terry, Thanks for reaching out to Motorola. I�ve reviewed your e-mail and I�m ready to help. We do apologize for the inconvenience this is causing you. The camera application may have not refreshed during the upgrade. You may need to do this manually. Go to Menu, Settings, Application, Manage Applications, All, Camera, Clear data, and Force Stop. Test the camera and the picture on the gallery of the phone again. Otherwise, power off and on the phone. This will refresh the memory of the phone and may help rectify the issue. After this task, test the camera of the phone again. Just got phone a few weeks ago from Telus (Canada). I think its Froyo. The version is 2.2.1. It also came with an 8gb microsd not 2gb. Did upgrade to a 32gb. Wasn't happy with the itunes/win media player synch. Just cut'n pasted music from computer and works like a charm. Very happy with phone so far.

if you were downloading previously something over wifi & then you disconnected or for some reason download didn't take place & now you might be on mobile network with data saver mode enabled then it might show this way..

try other firmware. when i installed mine to update to 2.2.2 i tried 5 diferent firmwares till i find the one that worked with my network bands, in the process i find that some were slow, some were buggy, just flash other firmware

I just bought a Moto Defy and somehow something got switched on due to which there is a voice command for everything i touch on the phone. for example, i open the settings, the voice command says 'settings'. It is very annoying and i cannot find a way to switch it off.. can anyone help please?

u cannot get rid of motoblur as such without rooting and installing another rom which will void your warranty but u can download a lot of homescreen launchers such as adw , launcher pro , mxhome etc. ( i find adw the best ) ... the main interface will still remain to be motoblur but the visuals will get changed as ur settings which include a iphone interface and htc sense interface etc. ...
