Motorola DROID BIONIC XT875 - User Reviews

  • well it came out inj an. 2011.. what do you expect?? of course it gonna be useless

  • Why is it that Morola are ver rare in the Philippines I have andorid bionic but still useless :(

  • Will this phone model still be compatible with today's Bluetooth car speakers? I see that it runs on Bluetooth 2.1... but most car speakers now use 3.0 or higher...

  • For me, it's literally "the forgotten Droid" in the series. I allowed my stepdaughter to use mine in July of 2012 and it mysteriously burned-out. I was tempted to weep in recalling this but I did not use my Droid Bionic for very long. I think my Bionic was superseded in my line-up by the Droid RAZR MAXX in early 2012; I was or always have been 'flitting' from one of the day's hot phones to the other. Last year, mid-2016, I got on a nostalgia kick and bought a 'new, old stock' Droid Bionic and subsequently misplaced it. The 'treasure hunt' is in full-swing here for the Bionic and when it's located I'm going to activate it and go down memory lane for a few months with this smartphone, which, from me, never got its due.

  • I have HW B and i live in Kosovo how is it possible to make it work on my GSM here?

  • Sam can i have your email or contact details i have a HW-A version of Droid Bionic. Can you help me make it run on GSM in India.

  • Can u tell me which revision is yours? HW - A, B or C just so i can confirm and also let me know if you have done anything else other than flashing tbh file for unlocking gsm.

  • Hi Guys, People who want bionic on gsm, be careful. First of all there are revisions for this phone and you can find which one is yours by looking under the battery. There are 3 versions HW-A, HW-B and HW-C. If you are the ones with HW- A then you are lucky because you can flash the tbh band unlock config file via bootstrap recovery to unlock your phone for gsm in all countries but if your phone is of HW B or C revisions and if you flash tbh file then the only band that it unlocks is the USA band so you will not be able to use it on european or indian gsm networks which operate on 900/1800 bands. So it simply wont work. My phone has HW-C and i am from india and i have tried all tricks from xda but still not able to pick up a gsm signal but the phone is working fine with reliance ruim for calls and texts. So thats about it.

  • Its can be unlock so the gsm chip work on bionic. No matter run in gb or ics.its a great phone anyway.what's we could do on this phone is much more than the specs tech written above. Just go on xda than unlock it, gsm or cdma is your choice.I used this phone in Indonesia both runs smoothly in cdma or gsm. This phone is a treasure. So many unvilled features in it n we have to discover by Our own. In it's also runs in cdma rev b.

  • how can i get a ruim card

  • experiencing the bionic has its trials for a hacker originally purchased for its powerful features such as being able to play the media thats out there but cant understand the processes the industrie has attached to its functioning i mean your in contract or your not and the phone is difficult to work with if you want to move to a different carrier needs a site that can distribute a global unlocked firmware without sacraficing commitments the software goes against the realestate its set up to do regarding changing carrier settings in order to maintain order for its contractual obligations unreligousely a problem for someone trying to keep a rolodex right jerry a hundred dollars is a 10 year appliance

  • Get Motorola Atrix 2.

  • First of all, you need to be smarter than the phone you're using. These Bionics are bad ass phones & now on ICS 4.0.4 the phone really has taken an upswing. I don't have any issues & I've dropped mine numerous times. Using the extended battery, I can get 1.5 to 2 days of regular use without charging. NFL Mobile, Hotspot tethering, MMS all work flawlessly. Do some reading about how to use your Bionic instead of jumping to the "next great phone" which you will have no idea how to use anyway. The dual core processor on this phone can be overclocked to 1.3 GHz without any heat issues. This is one badass phone!

  • uhmmm....doesn't work in the philippines---its not gsm

  • do technicians unlock this kind of phone in the philippines?

  • I agree. Since the Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.4 update, it's a brand new phone again. I wish websites would do new updated reviews on the Bionic and other phones when they go through a major change like this. Gingerbread to ICS is major. And we are in lines to get the Jelly Bean software update beginning of next year. Another major boost for this phone. I am still happy that I purchased the Bionic on day one. Also any review dated before the update, October 18, 2012 is pretty much null and void, since the phone is totally different now and faster.

  • This phone was a piece of crap in the beginning but now that all the bugs are worked out, and it's rooted and rommed and running 4.0.4, this thing is a beast!!!!! Anyone who complains about this device needs to understand the concept of being smarter then the device they are working with haha! Only thing I would upgrade to now is the next monster Moto/Google phone or that HTC Droid DNA!

  • This phone is awful. I've had problems with it and the signal drops a lot. Recent update changed it so much that i am learning how to use it again. Ridiculous. Texts are sent to the wrong people at times. This phone sucks. I've had it 10 months and can't wait to get rid of out. Awful...very disappointed. Swype is the only good feature.

  • I've had my DROID Bionic for less than a year, and it is, by far, the biggest piece of crap I have ever owned. Camera sucks even though its supposed to be amazing, I lose complete connectivity for no reason and I have to reset. The screen sucks, as a matter of fact, I SHATTERED mine. Lots of stupid little issues happen daily. The battery sucks, and from day one, at random my speaker will sound like its under water even though its never even gotten wet. I recently ran the latest system update hoping it would fix at least some of the minor problems, not only did it fix nothing, it changed EVERYTHING to the point I almost didn't know how to use my phone and it ADDED more "bloatwear" than it was already filled with from the get go. I hate this God forsaken thing and I'm getting rid of it asap. Why bother dealing with Verizon when they're only going to send me a refurbished one that still doesn't work anyway?

  • Had my Bionic for almost 8 months. Running ICS 4.0.4 and LOVE this phone. Fast, reliable. It is what an Android device is supposed to be. I haven't been able to make it crash and trust me, I TRY LOL...Usually a phone is outdated within a year, but spec wise and performance wise, it seems like most other hardware is just catching up (Flagships excluded)

  • I LOVE THIS PHONE, I've had it for over a year now and the only problem was that the screen power (top left) button quit working... took it to Verizon, let them check it out an they sent me a new one FREE. But yeah it is an amazing phone

  • Wow, everybody complaining about the Bionic... let me tell you something, I've had my phone for 10 months... it is a pre owned certified phone..... I've never had 1 single problem with any facet of this phone what so ever, and I mean not 1nce.! And friends of mine who have phones which R suppose too have faster processors, are all slower than my phone, my phone does everything faster than all of my friends phones that are all top tier phones.... now with all these complaints, I have a sneaking suspicion that my phone works well only because it was pre owned certified, and they probably fixed all the problems it might of had..... never turned off for no reason, never dropped a call, never had anything wrong with online, I mean nothing wrong... I think it might be where you have purchased it, and if it was pre owned or not!

  • Love my Bionic.. Using it with a Jelly Bean theme.. Hope they would release the updates sooner, coz I'm still on GB and cant wait to get JB

  • I totally agree that verizon customer service sucks...however leavi g the droidbionic. Its my 2 nd in 3 mos. I am not receiving random text msgs. Verizon says they will call and the NEVER DO! TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. Motorola THIS PHONE HAS ISSUES....

  • Must be stock .905, check this out

  • did you run with stock rom or custom rom when using smartfren ruimcard?thx

  • My Bionic run easily with RUIM card, no flashing method need, just insert ruim card, i'm in Indonesia running SMARTFREN

  • YES. I almost got an iphone and like the bionic much better. The screen is bigger and works better!

  • Should i bye a Motorla bionic or should i spend my money on some other phone.... ????? plz suggest if so...

  • I love my iPhone. The droid bionic has too much crap on it. Only thing good about it was the camera/video!

  • I realize this is a dead thread, but... over on XDA, they found a way to turn on the GSM chipset.

  • Does anyone is aware in how to turn off the e-mail notification at night. Per example from 9:00 pm to 6:00 am. I'm getting e-mails at night, so I need to turn off the mail messages. THANKS

  • this is what i need...

  • motorola droid bionic xt875 is not work in gsm what about africa a special in tanzania because i want to buy droid bionic xt875 in dubai? sorry for these .

  • google.com

  • Are you romming your phone? I am pretty hard on my phones and my original Droid and my bionic I got the day it came out in the US are still working fine. If you are romming, just stop. Read online about how to stop breaking your phone, then pick it back up. If you are not, stop buying technology. Then get yourself 4 or 5 oxen and become Amish. Thanks.

  • Today is Wednesday March 7, 2012 and I am currently on my third bionic android since January 18, 2012. I have replaced the sim card card twice and talked to Verizon tech support again and again and doing the same things each time. Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and thinking the outcome will be different. Verizon has continually tried to factory reset and even asked me not to install any applications which I did and still I get no internet connectivity. The Gs just disappear, sometimes the Gs stay but they are white and still non-responsive. I had to make a 1411 call today in order to contact a school in order to get their phone number as I could not get internet for navigation or address or phone number. Their service has been substandard at best some Verizon personnel promised to call back days later and didnt. This has been a nightmare.

It all started with the promise that it was a network upgrade to a possible interaction with my mac computer, this went on for fourteen days. By the way fourteen days is the grace period and after that I was told I was out of luck and they couldnt do anything for me and the phone that didnt work was basically my problem. The store I purchased the phone from Diamond Verizon Wireless at Park Place Mall never responded to my calls; dropped into the store three times and the manager was always out, never returned calls, texts, emails or hand written requests for a response.

Buyer beware; Warning if you deal with the devil (Verizon) you are going to get burned. It is an election year and I guess promises, promises but if you want service you have come to the wrong place. Then again if you are looking for a great paper weight I would definitely recommend the Bionic.

  • probably a stupid question but what is the difference between cdma and gsm. im looking at buying this phone. im in canada. will i lose connectivity or something?

  • WowW!! DROID BIONIC! I wish its released in india.. or maybe it is?

  • WowW!! DROID BIONIC! I wish it gets available in India hmm.. and in a GSM version!

  • bc yes...:)

  • geotagging sucks

  • You can us CDMA outside of the U.S. If I were traveling overseas, I would just buy a cheap prepaid throw a way. Overseas Roaming charges would eat you alive using an American GSM account. Look at your use in North America and base your decision on CDMS vd GSM.

  • Why??? Why??? is this brilliant telephone NOT GSM??? How could Motorola do that with me??? It is amazing. What Motorola proposes me to do, buy Atrix 2? It is cool but when I look at DROID BIONICS... such a sad , grave moment... why???

  • feox and emes are here

  • too many problem with it, each time i connect it to my pc it stats wiping out all the applications i installed. also sometime it boot up in the middle of the application

  • this is the best droid that i have had. works for everything i need to do. never drops calls. so for that one person that says it drops calls step off. your just a hater go to the iphone then.!

  • no the pics are excellent. you just have to use the right settings for the camera. 8mp camera on a phone is amazing.

  • Wrong it has a radio but the thing is you must download tge radio apk file from a droid 3... pretty dumb to install a fm receiver and not tell everyone

  • Lol htc alway have the best and the mos solid phone contruction and the best hardware and feature.

  • Battery life is about 3 hrs Stand by is 8 hrs. Lot of dropped calls locks up often

  • I've had this phone for a while now. I am very happy with it. It has an awesome tactile feel especially the soft back. The phone feels solid unlike the poor construction of HTC or Samsung. Excellent call quality and reception. Battery life during the day is probably 70 to 80% that of an iPhone. Ex:- If you use 4G and GPS navigation in the car while charging with the car charger it only maintains the charge and there is no actual increase in battery charge. That is the amount of drain by the dual-core processors! Lightning fast processor and Internet speeds. Excellent screen, mediocre camera. Android gingerbread still has some issues with a few demanding apps. Had the phone freeze on me a couple of times. Never did an Apple freeze in my usage before. All in all 8.5 out of 10.

  • I dont care

  • I love everything about the Droid Bionic, the the call log needs to be expanded where more of our calls can be saved, at this time it holds less the 30 days of call,

  • Error on spec: CPU is 32bit Texas Instruments OMAP 4430 @1000MHz with integrated PowerVR SGX 540 GPU... so it's not a NVIDIA tegra2 chipset ! (as previously said by pmousetail) Note: the GSM version should be available in October (2011)

  • super phone. much better than galaxy s II. but too bad it's cdma. please motorola, make the 4.3 inches phones gsm ones. we want them so badly.

  • Please change CPU info from NVidia Tegra-2 AP20H to TI OMAP-4430, others are fine and thanks for the summation!

  • this phone is just for usa cause its cdma phone and not gsm phone so u cant buy it its beter buying atrix or droid3 or photon

  • Hi Will this be made available in India? If yes, by when?

  • if your are wanting to buy a powerful phone thats from Motorola but want to go Europe. then The Motorola Photon 4g, i mean its literally neck and neck with this phone. (minus a bonus sd card_but it has a slot for one, and 720P recording instead of 1080P-not sure is firmware software can change that). Photon is cdma and gsm. And its a nice design different then all the phones out now . Any phone you choose just make sure you check out xda-developers for unlocking the true power of any droid phone

  • LTE is a GSM, thats why I have a sim card in it.

  • No this is CDMA only, Europe uses GSM. It would be an expensive paperweight...

  • This is Verizon so I don't think so...At&T phones though you can.

  • Hi guys I live in France an dwould like to get one but does it comply with europe standard? can I buy in US and use in europe?? Tx for your advise

  • This is my first android phone...coming from a Blackberry and I have to say that I'm having some major withdrawal issues...was used to my BB's organization style, but this is definitely 10x's faster, especially in 4G...amazing! I've been researching and waiting for this Bionic for months but it has turned out to be a Major disappointment though with the 8mp camera...I was expecting a whole lot better. Horrible pictures! My BB actually took much better pics by far...BIG BIG disappointment. Plus I think Moto could do a better job of highlighting and providing instructions for organization tasks, such as setting up calendars and email accounts. I still have 5 days before I decide if I'm actually going to keep this one...kind of "iffy" at this point though.

  • awsoooooooooome

  • why dun we get these kind of phones in Europe? all we get from moto is some crappy entry lvl phones for about 50$

  • It's a Motorola, though.

  • Had my Bionic for about 1 week now. Pros) 1. Speed is great 2. software works very good w/ no issues as of yet. 3. Better execution, software and UI compared to Droid X. 4. 1080P is awesome for video. Cons) 1. Don't like the weak specs on VGA front camera for SKYPE/TANGO etc. 2. Battery life could be improved even w/ battery saver function.

  • Droid Bionic speakerphone is HALF DUPLEX making the phone almost useless for a business conference call with multiple attendees. Other than that phone is excellent. I have had many android phones and now have the Verizon iPhone 4 which outshines all android phones that I have used (droid1, droidx, HTC incredible and HTC thunderbolt.

  • Excellent so far. A little trouble activating at first with customer care but then when I went to level 2 they got it done. Sweeet unit. Still have not scratched the surface with what it can do.

  • great really fast got mine friday

  • sooooo hot

  • Playing with mine since Friday. It's my first android phone. It's amazing fast. Jumping around from mp3s, its instant. Sending a 1 minute video msg takes about 2 seconds. I'm loving it and I've barely scratched the surface.

  • WOW...its Perfect... and finally a decent full touch screen phone with the added benefit of a nice(really nice) keyboard.. Im impressed...moto has been around for a really long time (moto being my first phone in 1999), and it seems they getting back into the game and is able to compete with the top "dogs". innovation is the name of the game in this industry and coming up with new ideas is where the brands are going to stand out!!! Soon people wont worry to much about operating systems as they are all so close already and most of them running on the same anyways.e.g. Android. Actual device itself is the heart of it all and MOTO is doing a good job:) keep it up looking forward to its future success

  • This is really disappointing that motorola has launched this phone without GSM capabilities .Earlier it was believed that this will be a world phone OR global phone & will work on CDMA and gsm both.I dont know what they have been doing? Motorola has lost a major number of their customers by not providing gsm capabilities.BIG DISAPPOINTMENT MOTOROLA.

  • awsome

  • more about 4g and droid bionic unroot tools is also available too

  • very expensive!!!!

  • the specs are wrong on the cpu, it has a TI OMAP4430 not a tegra 2.

  • Why not radio?

  • i prefer photon

  • Too bad that Motorola and Verizon together decided to make this a non-global phone.....i would have gone out and gotten in really soon if gsm was there. Instead, as others have said, I will wait to see what iPhone5 comes up with....

  • Just got my bionic today and im loving it. Upgraded from the thunderbolt. Gave the thunderbolt to my daughter.

  • Droid Bionic Price Details

  • Whz the can't be normal as everybody else?? Do you have to hack your phone to be able to send files. :P There are other drawbacks of I OS, not just that.

  • The device is globally compatible. The SIM is what designates which bandwidths a device like this will utilize because it has the same network hardware as many of your other models. As AT&T owns the GSM bandwidth in the USA, Verizon had no reason to include that capability on this devices SIM. However, when in Manila I can insert a Globe, Sun, or SMART SIM and the device works fine. Also remember any nation that boasts the 3G or 4G networks will be able to host this device.

  • How often do you send them anyway? Jailbreaks allow you to do this anyway, sorry to inform you

  • no gsm ....tooo sad :(

  • everyone knows u cant send files dude

  • Don't wait for Iphone! Did you know that you can't send files via Bluetooth from Iphone to other phones?? I OS has these cons! :( This is just an example.

  • Not GSM global. Too bad!!,!, I guess I wait to see what happens with iPhone5

  • No Tegra 3 ? No big deal

  • inaccurate

  • I think these are specs from earlier this year, before the changes.

  • beast phone.

  • 16gb internal not 32gb

  • Old and outdated material.

  • Here are the real specs from motorola posted today! I just received an email from motorola with this link in it! Btw I went to my local verizon store yesterday and got to play with one and its awesome! Extremely responsive touch screen, great display didn't notice a difference comparing it to an samsung charge screens looked the same to me, very fast at opening apps and Internet! Will be buying one first thing tomorrow! It's also extremely light for it's size I have a blackberry right now and the bionic is way lighter then the blackberry!

  • I have been hearing all the hoopla about this phone for months now. After seeing video and reading the actual specs, I don't see how it is better than the Charge (my current phone), or the Thunderbolt??? It is just late to the game. Better chip set, maybe. Same screen size less quality. Everything else relatively the same. Oh, but Bionic is thicker and heavier...

  • I think it's supposed to have 32gb internal memory & a slot for a sandisk card.

  • These specs are all wrong.

  • i thought the delay of this phone is bcuz they want to upgrade the SoC to TI omap 4470 which is a monster chip tat can even kill SGS2 mali400... moto wrg move again.. hope they learn from sale history..

  • Video for this device will be 1080p.

  • it mentions LTE. (verizon's version of 4g)

  • This phone is late but welcome in a world where verizon customers always get the nice and advanced phones last

  • Wrong ... 1 gig RAM not 512

  • Sadly seems like Verizon Sales don't have any clue whats going on. Called a few months ago and was told that the phone was canceled and they tried to intrest me in another phone. Called today after seeing the TV Spot saying 9-8-11 and had sales tell me it has not been released, no release date planned, and tried to intrest me in another phone. Was trying to see if I couldn't pre-order like I did with the original droid so I had it on launch day. Hope they get their story stright soon...

  • As long as your in WiFi. You can talk and surf on 3g or 4g. I tried it with 3 different phones. All Smart Phones.

  • These spexs would make me not want this phone. LUCKILY, these specs are outdated. Here's just a couple things that are off. 1) it records 720 AND 1080p. 2) it has 1gb RAM, not 512 mb. 3) MOST IMPORTANT, it is a 4G phone. There is no mention of that in these specs. 4) no mention of webtop/lapdock capabilities. I'm sure theres more, but why bother!

  • Tried one out at Verzon yesterday. Manager had one a week early to play with. This is one beautiful phone. Exceptional in every way. Played with it for about 15 minutes and loved it. I'm a iPhone 4 owner with ATT, and would switch over if I wasn't locked in with 4 phones right now.

  • since this phone has 2g CDMA capability, why cant it be used it malaysia? i tot TM is offering CDMA-services.

  • yes this phone will run on verisons 4g network called 4g lte

  • its cdma mean that it cant b used in our country.

  • is this phone going to be 4g? it says 4glte on vw.com

  • i love the make of the phone its sleek

  • I own a thunderbolt and can talk and surf or even talk and use my hotspot while on 3G. 4G is obviously faster but I can do it on either one. First hand experience

  • you can still talk and surf on the new 3g that comes with getting a LTE phone.. the thunderbolt can talk and surf on 3g just fine. along with the charge and revolution.

  • it WILL b on 4G LTE so u will b able 2 surf & talk

  • you can ONLY surf and talk while on LTE Long Term Evolution. CDMA does NOT have the ability.

  • of course not its verizon not at&t thank god for that

  • LIAR!

  • wrong specs and no its not global ready

  • Can you surf and talk at the same time?

  • According to the DROID Bionic tester, he has been able to get 15 hours on a single charge and that is with push email running and plenty of power hungry widgets on the screen. Of course, besides being an Android model, the Motorola DROID Bionic will have another mouth to feed with its LTE radio. Just another reason to look forward to this long awaited device

  • Seriously?!? You have no idea what you're talking about with these specs. You put a picture and full specs of the old Bionic which everyone (except for you apparently) knows was revamped. Try doing a little research next time.

  • Wrong. FAIL. 4g lte. Global capabilities. TI OMAP dual-core, not Tegra 2. 1GB of RAM. Your misinformation does this sexy beast no justice...

  • Pretty sure its been confirmed that it will have a TI omap 4 processor, not the tegra, and 1G ram. So not sure how accurate these specs are.

  • The new bionic is Mode x875 not the x865 as you have posted. I believe the x875 has 1 gig of ram.lO

  • Ok this spec sheet has deatails that were on the motorola website, that was yanked quickly. although many specs are correct, many are not. That page was called a plug and was never meant to be viewed, it was for setup up purposes only. Notice it doesn't even show 4G in the specs?

  • I sweat, if it doesn't come out on September 1, 2011, I'll just pay the $350.00 early termination fee to Verizon and move to T-Mobile HTC Sensation or Sprint Motorola Photon 4G... This is getting annoying with all these delays!

  • Battery life has been said to last 15 hours with moderate use.

  • FCC Releases DROID Bionic Documents, Plus Plenty Of Snapshots More From the DROID Bionic FCC Filing: Inductive Battery Cover, No Simultaneous 3G Voice-Data, Top and Bottom Shots (Updated)

  • More Blurry DROID Bionic Pictures Show Up, We Get a Nice Side View of its Thickness

  • Battery life???? Any info

  • Motorola Droid Bionic user manual previewed in FCC docs, confirms 4.3-inch qHD display, mentions GSM World Phone capability?

  • Most of these specs are completely wrong now! The phone is much better now!

  • Its not good samsung gs2

  • i found the updated spec of bionic here

  • Stop reposting thisthis very out dated info

  • Yes I have heard the same thing... These are out dated specs for the bionic.

  • battery is off... around 1540 instead of 1940

  • while this phone style and functionality look impecable, I would like all these phones to be global. I find nothing more disappointing then not being able to take our phones along with us if we need to leave the calling area. these are also used as portable computers and all personal information is stored on most peoples phones these days. The phones you are making are among the most amazing devices on the market and should be able to go where life takes us.

  • these specs are from ces.. way out of date. 4g larger screen diff proccessor etc etc

  • LTE confirmed.

  • Really dated specs. No mention of 4g. Processor will be a TI OMAP dual core.

  • I wonder if all specs are up to date. All I have been hearing is that it will have 1080p video recording, and I would think it would as the droid 3 does.

  • The only problem with that idea is that those "talks" on AT&T's network may be cut off at any time. Ha ha. But seriously: I understand your point, man.

  • whoever wrote this article should do more research before writing. A lot of things have changed about this phone.

  • i think it can

  • If it's not 4g & one can talk & surf at the same time I don't want it. Tired of hearing At&t's phones can talk & surf & Verizon phones can't.

  • FYI...before the phone was changed, the 512MB of RAM was DDR2 quality which is twice as fast as the DDR RAM that has been being used in all smartphones so its actually like having 1GB of RAM if you compared it to other smartphones. Therefore, it is actually quite powerful! After the redesign it may be upgraded even more...but if not its still at the top of the market

  • you obviously haven't researched this phone at all. They have changed a lot. It shoots 1080p now and many other things.

  • How good this phone is if it only comes with a 512MB RAM , shooting only 720P and a VGA Camera? I hope they have took these into consideration when they were redesigning them.

  • Why does everyone have to customize the UI. Motoblur adds ZERO VALUE to the user experience.

  • Exclusive: redesigned Motorola Droid Bionic looks confirmed in Best Buy leak

  • Wrong wrong wrong... please try again.

  • you people bitching about tiered data need to STFU and find a friend.. I posted on fb and had 5 friends willing to give me a used smart phone within an hr. post was on sat, picked up an htc eris and switched over to unlimited data by 1pm sun and now i can use my upgrade when i wish to.. you can all do the same, but tomorrow is your last chance on the data plan!!

  • Droid Bionic launching Aug. 4, according to leaked screen

  • This is not current...why publish this? everyone knows this is not the Bionic

  • Why do people keep posting the old specs. A lot of this has been changed. They switched the chip to a TI instead of the nvidia and it most definitely has 4g. Get the current information before posting specs.

  • No 4g???? ridiculous.

  • What a joke. How can they not have this ready before Verizon goes into a tier plan? The Charge has been out for a while and is a win/win. This hasn't even been out, and people automatically think that it's gonna be the best ever. I can't wait to see just how much complaints come in regards to this phone.

  • GEEZ how long do we have to wait for the Bionic. Besides why does it have to be a secret!!!! I should just buy the Samsung Charge instead of waiting and waiting!!!

  • GEEZ how long do we have to wait for the Bionic. Besides why does it have to be a secret!!!! I should just buy the Samsung Charge instead of waiting and waiting!!!

  • Duel Processor. What the heck! Yeah man, I'll take it cause I fell the need for speed. Barry

  • Motorola is losing potential customers by the minute with there silence on a release date .i know if nothing is announced by July 5th I will be buying the charge .i dont want to but I need a phone fast and my current one is on its last leg. TOO BAD TOO SAD!!!!

  • Well, they sent guys to the moon on 36K RAM / 2K ROM, so considering the year we had 64K computers, not so "Duh". If it weren't for Bill Gates, you wouldn't have any of these toys.

  • I've been waiting for the BIONIC to come out for a couple of months, but with all the comments I've been reading from around the web, some people have been waiting since last year...and I feel your frustration. Hell, I probably would have went with the t-bolt or charge after waiting like that w/ no updates on the bionic from motorola. But the wait won't be much longer, I have a very reliable source @ verizon that says they are holding training sessions on the bionic in a couple of weeks. Couldn't get anything more concrete, though. I can tell you now, the bionic will NOT beat the July 7th deadline to get in on the unlimited data plan. So if your waiting to upgrade so the bionic can be your 1st smartphone, first get a used smartphone from a friend or CL or ebay , activate it, get unlimited data asap so you can lock it in

  • Droid original and Droid 2 Global owner. Perfectly willing to tough it out as long as I must wait on the bionic. Bionic or Bust! Look at some of your photos or other photos you are familiar with on the Samsung 4g Super Amoled + sucks. Poor reproduction of colors - too vibrant and unreal.

  • I had two of them. the battery did not go more then 120 minutes. Great phone, even better if the battery did what it said. I will wait for the droid bionic!

  • My girlfriend bought a Samsung Droid Charge (her first smartphone) about a month ago. I've been setting it up and using it a little bit. It is a SUPER phone. If Motorola doesn't announce a firm release date in early July I'll buy the Samsung Charge. The Bionic is beginning to seem like vaporware, or maybe it's a concept prototype that can't be made commercially viable. It's absence from the gallery at Motorola Mobility is a kind of foreboding of no certainty about it ever being released.

  • Remember when Gates thought 64K was enough. Duh !

  • Likewise. I'll be waiting until July 6th for this phone to come out. If it's not available by then, it's a Charge for me.

  • I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the delay is due to the green laser availability problem. The green laser is the last component needed to mass produce the laser projector (PicoP) that fits into that little hump along with the high megapixel camera.

  • I feel stuck in the middle. Waiting for the Bionic since Jan with a phone that's not working well and the new data tier about to start. Do I get the Charge before the 7th in order to maintain the unlimited data pkg in the 4G arena or dump it all and start over when every. one makes up their mind about. products and fees? Verizon's. customer service marks are. going down with me, rapidly. Many changes and to fast, sales. doesn't have the right. answers. or the same info any more. It is costing my extra. Motorola needs to step it up here!

  • Well if Motorola doesn't step up to the plate and put out some cold hard facts within the next few days, I will go with the Charge as well. There has to be some major problems for them not to at least come out and give a solid release date. If you don't give the dogs a cookie once and a while, they will go to the neighbors house. Simple as that.

  • come on, doesn't anyone know the reals specs? Samsung charge looking good..

  • It's a freakin nVidia 1GHz dual-core Tegra 2 how is that not new its the same chip they use in the new tablets and its in a phone stop complaining.

  • If you can't bring anything new, don't come at all.

  • Hope Motorola gets the Bionic out around the first of July. I see a lot of people giving up. I'm not yet but they better hurry up i'm getting impatient. i'm now looking at 2 other phones as mine is slowly dieing. so,Motorola could you PLEASE hurry up! Hint Hint....Thought they said, in june what happened to that..

  • If they really want to corner the market and do something truly innovative they will add an FM transmitter to the BIONIC so we can all do away with stand alone Bluetooth/FM transmitters.

  • If they really want to corner the market and do something truly innovative they will add an FM transmitter to the BIONIC so we can all do away with stand alone Bluetooth/FM transmitters.

  • This is the same set of specs they released back in January...come on now.

  • I want the new specs. Not the old ones that don't matter anymore.

  • iPhone 5 vs Motorola Droid Bionic Release Date

  • The CDMA version of the device was never called the Etna. it was announced as the 4G confrence as the Bionic. as it states at the top of the page... "this is not a GSM device and cannot be activated on a GSM network"

  • I read that it is not 512MB any more it is 1gDDR2 Ram. I have been waiting for this phone since November when it was called the Etna.

  • These are the old specs that were announced before the delay. The pic in the article is the cancelled Bionic that was the old form factor. The newly released photos of the Bionic shows they completely changed the phone.

  • These are the OUT DATED specs of the phone that will never come out. The Droid Bionic that will come out this summer is improved and those specs are easily found on google so this post of the specs is just a FAIL.

  • this is a good reviews but i find a website that have more information about Motorola DROID BIONIC it's

  • If this phone is essentially the same as the Photon and the Atrix 4G, wouldn't they have virtually the same specs? The Photon on Sprint and teh Atrix on ATT have 1GB of RAM while the Bionic only has 500MB.

  • Yes its a 4g phone working on the 700 spectrum

  • yes motorola is must popular in usa i love motorola i hope motorola ship new hight end device like droid bionic - photon - xt882 to all around the world such az midle est well done moto

  • Monday Poll: DROID Bionic with LTE or Galaxy S II without?

  • this one or photon ?? or atrix ??

  • Yes, it will work on their 4G network. It wouldn't make any sence to not have it work. This phone will be a big contender against HTC and the iPhone 5

  • 2 questions: 1-I know that based on feedback, Motorola was going to incorporate some additional benefits to the phone before releasing it. This considered, is there an updated release date? 2-Will this phone work on the Verizon 4G network? Thanks!

  • Any idea when it will be available?

  • more leaked images of the Motorola Droid Bionic Targa The first images that we saw of the Targa showed that it would be a more sophisticated and elegant version, and would come with a dual-core processor, 4.3" qHD display, and what looked to be a 13MP camera on the rear. Earlier today a handful of images were leaked, but now the floodgates have opened. The device is now said to come with a larger 4.5" qHD screen (up from 4.3") and will run on Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. There will also be a new version of BLUR with a 3D look to it, but still only 5 home screens. Leaked images of the Motorola DROID BIONIC show a subtle redesign and more Meticulously looking at the handset, one can see that its sporting a new redesigned chassis thats modified versus the one we all first spotted back at CES. Additionally, we now see it flaunting a sizable 8-megapixel auto-focus camera thats coming along with full 1080p video recording. Not stopping there, the leak even shows us the presence of the new version of MOTOBLUR and a new dock connector as well, which allows it to dock with Motorolas laptop dock. Obviously, its definitely nice seeing the Motorola DROID BIONIC still in the loop after all this time, but were eager to know when itll actually come to fruition. Then again, maybe we might have to wait a little bit to give Big Reds other recently launched 4G LTE devices some time to soak in the sun.

  • New DROID Bionic Running Gingerbread Gets Benchmarked, Dual-core OMAP Replaces Tegra 2? We had to leave that big fat question mark at the end of the post title because there is something that just looks a little fishy about this new Nenamark benchmark that popped up in the last day or so with the name DROID Bionic attached to it. Before we get into that though, lets talk about what new goodness were seeing above. First off, the PowerVR SGX 540 GPU stands out. Why, you ask? Well, because this GPU matches up to the new TI OMAP 4430 and 4440 dual-core processors that were pretty sure Motorola will be showing some favoritism to in the near future (in the DROID3). This also means that the Tegra 2 by NVIDIA has been given the ax, which shouldnt come as a huge surprise since most of the rumors surrounding the original delay of this device pointed at the T2 and 4G LTE not playing well together. Maybe this new OMAP was able to show some LTE love? The second thing we noticed is the Android 2.3.3. mention. FINALLY, a phone in testing thats not running Froyo. The Bionic is slated to come out this summer, so it only makes sense that it would be running Gingerbread, but again, its just nice to finally see it. The third thing is the screen resolution of 960×540. qHD screen, anyone? This could be both a positive and a negative which you can read up on over at this DROIDX2 post. And now to the confusing part. The Nenamark score of 24.0 flat is extremely odd. If this benchmark actually happened, there would be a high, low and average not just a single number. Its almost like the benchmark started, someone cancelled it, and Nenamark decided that was good enough to report. Plus, the DROID3 pumped out a 45.20 on average just a couple of weeks ago, so there is no way the Bionic would put out anything less. So well take this as the Bionic finally going through testing, but we arent going to look at that number and criticize the hell out of it. Its either just getting prepared for testing and cant perform or the benchmark was somehow cut off and then reported on. Seeing OMAP is pretty interesting though, and something well be paying close attention to over the next couple of months. No more happy marriage between NVIDIA and Moto? That sure was quick.

  • What makes it better? VZW

  • 4G.

  • Some other sources say Tegra 2 dual-core processor, and I have no clue who is right...

  • How is this better than the atrix or sensation besides the screen size (personal preference)...just wondering because the other processers top it. Front facing camerao on sensational tops it..what so much better about the bionic?

  • I spoke to verizon wireless, Global Phone is not really global per se, you will still get charged per minute and per KB of data, which could cause you a fortune. My point is, what is the benefit of a global phone if it will cost a lot of money to use it when you travel, you're better off renting or buying a prepaid phone at the country you're going to.

  • Droid global 2. duh. still an android phone. not much difference between the droids.

  • when is it to be released???

  • would have been nice to have a front facing canmera and 4G LTE.

  • I seriously can't wait for this phone. I have a droid and thought my next would be the x. Then Thunderbolt news etc etc. I really think this is going to be the phone I will stick with for a while. Could it get any better? ??

  • this is very good phone this is best phone and extra...

  • I agree that Verizon needs to start offering more smartphones with global ability. I travel internationally and need a global ready phone, but Verizon's choices are so very limited, I am tempted to switch to AT&T which offers more.

  • Good phone

  • this is realy best well done moto

  • This is the phone I would get next. I travel around the world and need GSM in Europe. Verizon needs to get this right and make some dam global phones.

  • this phone dont work in eur . cause this is not gsm phone

  • You can decode the phone to use it in Europe right?? Or these kind of phones are not working outside of America? Thank you for your answer.

  • great speed for the internet browser

  • verizon 4g phone have sim cards

  • Because all 4g phones from verizon will have sim cards from now on. dont reall know if thats why its on here but its my guess

  • GSM Arena has info for all phones GSM and CDMA, the wikipedia of mobile phones.

  • which is better the bionic or the x?

  • If this is for Verizon only the why is it on GSM Arena?

  • It's not about numbers (1Ghz or 2Ghz) that much as it is to the OS and there isn't perfect one, also the way an app was written, and of course the platform (like Nvidia Tegra 2 3D)

  • i also don't NEED a smartphone, but I want the best out there. more ram + better processor = less pissing me off due to freezing and lag.

  • Nah, its going to need 1GB due to the dual Core Processor! 2 Cores processing the information so double the amount to store on the RAM!

  • no friend bionice is just cdma and not gsm

  • Is that anyway to use gsm sim card in this phone?

  • Y do u want 1gb of RAM. W/the amount of data u need to be saved for apps running in the background & such 512 w/a dual core processor is more than enough. 1gb w/a dual core processor will be the upgrade to this 1 but u'll never even know the difference performance wise.

  • I think Motorola knows what's best to put in their phones. The Droid Bionic doesn't need 1GB of RAM. The only reason the Atrix has it is because it NEEDS it because of the PC dock thingy

  • i would for for this handset for sure if just it's ram was 1 gb not only 512 mb........ i need a replacement for my beautiful motorola droid x. atrix or bionic still confuse, moto plz plz plz makes this handset 1 gb ram

  • because it is obsolete?

  • Of course there's no GPRS!!! It's CDMA Phone... Why people getting dumber and dumber nowaday... They think they know everything but actually they do NOT...

  • no gprs? why motorola...come on........

  • I have a droid phone and the onscreen keyboard is great much better than a physical keyboard with so many more keys available. you should try it

  • CES: Hands-on with the Motorola Droid Bionic The 4.3-inch qHD display, for example, was quite stunning from our brief moments with it. It's bright, crisp, and the viewing angle was surprisingly wide. The phone doesn't feel quite as slick as the Droid X, and that's probably because the Droid Bionic is a touch thicker and rounder at the edges. Measuring 4.96 inches long by 2.63 inches wide by 0.52 inch thick, the Droid Bionic actually feels more like the Droid 2, except without the QWERTY keyboard. At 5.57 ounces, it's not exactly lightweight, but the heft gives it a good, solid feel in the hand. It also has a pretty smooth surface all around. The spec sheet on this phone is certainly impressive. Aside from 4G and the dual-core processors, the Droid Bionic also has 512MB DDR2 RAM; HDMI mirroring (so you can view video on both the phone and the TV when they're connected); 1080p video playback; 8-megapixel camera on the rear plus a front-facing VGA camera for video calls; Wi-Fi, of course; mobile Wi-Fi hot spot for up to five devices (subject to carrier fees); and since it ships with Android 2.2, the WebKit browser also plays in-browser Flash video. Gingerbread fans need not fret either, as we've heard it is upgradable to Android 2.3. Following the example of the Motorola Droid Pro, the Droid Bionic will also feature different profiles for Home, Work, and Weekend, plus enterprise-level features that include remote wipe, data security, corporate e-mail compatibility, robust calendar management, and Quickoffice apps. As we mentioned, pricing is still unknown, but availability should be around Q2 of this year. Check out our hands-on photos for a closer look. Stay tuned for our First Look video P.S.: I have to say that despite the jokes that were made about the name, I quite like the "Droid Bionic" moniker. It doesn't seem as cliche as "Droid Incredible" and "Droid X." Also, the term "Bionic" is a nice hat-tip to the human element of the phone. It's smart and unique, which is not always the case when it comes to cell phone names. Or maybe I just have fond memories of Lindsay Wagner as Jaime Sommers in "The Bionic Woman." Of course, it remains to be seen if the phone lives up to the name. What do you think?

  • I saw this phone at CES. It was the smallest 4G phone I saw there. Same size display as Droid X but the phone was a lot smaller and smoother...also the display itself was denser and brighter. It felt great in hand and had really nice grip. HTC thunderbolt looked sleek but big, Samsung and LG 4G phones looked dated and huge. VZW staff said this is the only 4G LTE phone with dual core. This is my next phone!

  • awsooooooome

  • No GPRS I'm sorry.

  • To everyone bitching about the ram its not just 512 MB its actually DDR2 big difference its a lot faster than other normal memory type

  • superb....... it is like a computer.. XD

  • unrivaled in verzion

  • Finally, after the razor series, you got this one! I like it! Hehehe!

  • its the beast i want to have

  • duel core cpu 8mp camera and ...... well done moto this is realy new flag ship for verzion operator

  • This is truly awesome. Soon, every Android phone will have Skype video calling. And we'll officially be living in the future.

  • Error: there is no physical keyboard

  • ooooooooooover good this realy unrivaled Fabulous

  • good phone

  • I hope they make a GSM version, not like they did with DROID X, we were waitin for a GSM version.

  • beautyful phone

  • Great Great I don't know what to say for this phone it's complete at last a phone which i was expected great because of no lacks for this phone I want this tanx USA productors Bravo

  • Who the fack would need more than 512mb of ram?? More than 512 is worthless.

  • Looks amazing. I hope Motorola make a GSM version and release it in Europe. Need a replacement for my V3. Its getting a bit old. Have it 5 years now... Want to get a motorola too. Dont ask why but I just really like them.

  • why does it only have 512 RAM? that's gay...with dual core processor and all the other high tech features you would think it would have 1GB RAM like the Atrix 4G on At&t...come on it's 2011 phones last yr had 512 RAM get out the stone age

  • Great phone! Motorola please make a European version too! :->
