well after using smartphones from last 4 years, and using multiple flip phones as well i come to conclusion motorola made the ultimate flip phone and they are bad ass, i am using this phones from past 7 years and my phone and battery still works and on the hand bought a samsung flip phone, braked it in a month and e1070 even after a rough use still in working condition. i would like to buy a razr v3i the best among flip phones

Well... it finally broke, more than two years after I got it, and it was 5-6 years old and heavily used. It just needs a new flat cable, but they only sell them in 10-packs on eBay. But I'm planning to have it repaired some day, it's still charging, turning on etc, but the cameras and some features are no longer working. Got a Nokia E51 as a replacement, nice little phone with plenty of features, so far it's working, and as for my V1075... rest in peace until we meet again. :-(

Got this phone (V1075, Vodafone version) as a present exactly a year ago. It was a bit beaten up and scratched. I cleaned it, didn't expect too much judging by the comments here, but it STILL WORKS like on the day one. The keypad illumination buzzes but I quickly got used to that. The camera gives a "picture capture failed" once in a month or two, but I took almost 2500 photos with it so far, on some days as much as 300 photos (And lost only one bar on the battery meter!!!). The camera quality is OK, depends on the light, and I've seen much worse (like on Sony Ericsson Walkman phones). Actually, if I blur some photos (yes, blur) in Photoshop they are as good as iPhone 3G photos. With bad counter-light the photos can become a mess. But some photos I took are quite amazing, just don't expect photos like from a dedicated camera and you'll be satisfied. The videocall camera is nice, I used it a lot for self portraits and macro shots (because of the way it is set up it can shoot REALLY close objects) - it just takes some aiming skill. The body is still fine, no strange noises or wobbling, and I love the rubberized plastic finish. Hard to drop by accident, but even though the phone fell from the bed or table a few times, no problems. The display is perfect, the outside display not so great but hey, does its job well and it can also serve as the camera viewfinder when the phone is closed. The video... if I watch videos from the phone, no problems, but if I watch them from the card I can get "system error" sometimes - who cares. I have my computer for that. The battery life is great - 3-5 days normal use. If I play games a lot (and I installed as much as it would take) then it's 2 days. If I browse the internet like mad, 3-4 hours, or watch too many YouTube videos (yes it can do that too, YouTube recognizes it's a cell phone and gives the videos in 3GP format) then one day. The software is okay - some parts of the menu could have been better, but it has everything I need and doesn't make problems. The SMS memory is particularly impressive, I suppose it can take around 1000 messages... the sound quality is nice, email setup was easy, Bluetooth works perfectly, and connecting it to the computer is a breeze - just needed a mini USB cable and no software at all (although I have the software, Motorola Phone Tools, too). I have no idea how old my V1075 is, but I guess it's 4 years old now and still working properly. I am broke right now so I think I'm going to keep it for some more time :-) For something that was supposed to be a cheap affordable phone I'm really, really impressed. Well done Motorola and three cheers from Croatia!

I have a E1070, it is very good, but is the same problem that acontecee with go3, after some time video he accuses of "a system error" I believe that was a mistake the unit since tried other cards and also occurred the same error ... Well, recalling that the unit also supports Linux operating system, which makes it an appliance reasonable

I have a 1 GB card. But I have problems with it. When I watch videos, after several minutes (5-10) it says "system error" and I cant open any video untill I restart my phone:(

I have had mine for over a year, I have the noise when i video record, or if i try to leave a voice mail only the interference comes out. It was suggested from customer services that i use an eraser over the battery prongs in -case it was dust, this didn't help. I acturally wondered if i scratched the metal of the battery when i initally put it in??? I could not be bothered to return it so stuck with it. Apart from that i do like the phone. I love motoraola phones, but always seem to have one problem with them, maybe it is time for a change...

Just read the previous post and can't believe how similar the experience is. My phone has also been replaced once, and the new one has suffered from exactly the same problems. I can't get hold of recent calls, can't select people in the address book to text to (can only text someone if they text me first!). I also can't always get 3G connections from the laptop, even though the phone reckons it's got a 3G signal. The problem is that all of these problems are intermittent and the service provider has said that if they can't find any problems with the phone then they'll bill me for the replacement handset. The overall package looks great on paper, and when it works, it's a really good phone. I'm just a bit disappointed with the rather flaky reliability.

I have had the motorola e1070 for about a year now and have had to have it replaced once. Both models I have had are faulty. The main problems I've had with it are the top of the flip lid cracking, refusing to select people in address book, not letting me see received calls or send txts to random people in my add book, camera refusing to take photos. Like I said, all this was wrong so they agreed to pick it up and replace it.. and then that one started doing the same things. If it worked properly, it's a nice phone, easy to use, and clear pictures.

I think the E1070 is the best compromise for performance/functionality and looks. Being a former RAZR user, I find the E1070 bulkier, but that is the only drawback. It has all the features I wanted, 3G, Bluetooth, and weight wise, hardly noticeable. I mean there is nothing wrong with the RAZR, it was one of the best phones offered by Moto. But E1070's performance and functionality over-shadows the RAZR.

I am very disappointed with this phone. It was given to me as an apparent "upgrade" bud despite the improved memory space, the slow performance of the phone makes using it distressing. Also random freezes during texting, (especially with predicted text turned on) and 'cut outs' of power adds to the gneral poor-ness of the phone. Be wary of this one if upgrading!

Not only having the picture problem but alarms dont go off if the phone is on charge and the silly thing now keeps turning itself off such as in the middle of a call. Anyone else had this problem? although the picture thing appears to have sorted iteself out somehow lately.

Hi, I'm in NZ and have had the same problem with the camera. Picture failure and now corrupting the pictures IF it takes one. Makes afunni noise if the screen is illuminated and gets hot if you use it to long, OTHERWISE it a good phone. Also want to note that if you have problems( this is my THIRD ph in FIVE MONTHS (did have the rayza, don't get me started on that one), the service form Motorola is appaling and you may as well not bother. Hope this helps people.

A few months back, I bought a Motorola E1070 mobile phone because it has very good features that I am looking for. 5 days later, the phone's internal camera is spoilt, keep displaying System Error. 5 days and it is spoil. Then, I brought to Motorola Service Center, left it there for 2 days to get it repaired, and brought back all looks ok. Then, the screen started having problems, they need to change the motherboard etc. To date I have sent the phone for repair 4x and it is really damn annoying. Then, the battery started to show low batt, even after a recharge. I brought back to Motorola Service Center and they told me they suspect it is caused by corrosion. The phone got corroded in such a short period of time! And the best thing Motorola Service Center did is: 1. They have no copies of my warranty card, despite the fact they took away the copies earlier. 2. They can't check all my past complains on the phone. 3. They told me to sign a disclaimer, that they will clean up the phone if corroded, but they cannot guarantee that the phone is usable when they return the phone to me! Imagine that! They will take my phone that is currently working (despite the low battery issue), and then they will repair it, and then will return a non-working phone to me, and I must sign the disclaimer. In fact, it will also void the warranty. The supervisor came and said the same thing! It really infuriates me for such a bad service from Motorola. In fact, their phone has a corrosion indicator, something I never seen in my Ericsson or Nokia phones! Shows that the materials used by Motorola are bad that they even have to add a corrosion indicator. I will never ever buy a Motorola phone again! Such a regret. If you look at the Motorola Service Center at where I am staying, you will see that the queue is long. On one of my visits there, I encountered a man who was so angry with the counter saying how many times he has to send his phone there for repairs! Motorola really needs to improve their quality in phones although I must say that the features in E1070 is really wonderful.

i have this phone and i gotta tell you that this phone sux..the reception is bad compared to nokia, the camera is not clear although its 1.3mp and it always hang so i have to turn it off and turn it on again..if i use the 3g at night, the other person cannot see me eventho i use the night mode..the sound is good though.. my opinion, don't buy this phone..buy sony ericson coz i'm going to.. =)

I have this phone for 4 months and I like it, it is pretty good, but what I don't like about it is the funny noise coming form the keyboard, and the quality of the pictures(when the light is not very good the pictures are lame). What is unacceptable is the way that the Motorola personal is treating their customers; they make me go from one service to another because my case is now broke and nobody wants to help me fix/ replace the case.

i don't have this phone, i have the samsung E350. but as for the internet connection problem, you might have to call your phone service (i have tmobile-USA) they had to talk me thru putting their GPRS settings into my phone. it took about 15-20 minutes to set up the internet and set up MMS capability

This phone is a great value for money, however I would like to get it unlocked. I am on 3, and travel often and will never accept or make calls on roaming. Also the battery doesn't last quite as long, almost have to re-charge it every day, when using frequently or playing videos or mp3's.

I bought this phone just 3 months ago. I'm very satisfied with it. But some days ago it fell off my pocket and now the clamshell does not close as it did before. When I close it, it needs some more pressure because it can't be pulled by the spring or whatever mecanism it has. Can someone tell me what's wrong and what can I do to make it work as before. Had an e1070 for about a month now. Great little phone! Only three things I can fault it on: - the battery does not last as long as my old phone, - the web start button is too near the right action button, and - the annoying woman telling me that she cannot understand my voice commands. Sorry just thought of another one, can't get a carry case to fit it!

Great phone. Had it for a few weeks and it rocks! The battery lasts 3-4 days, the only thing that it lacks is a better PC interaction - I find the software slow and with quite a lot of bugs. Overall is a great phone

U guys who have problems with takin' pictures should stay away from orange. My friends phone has TIM software and it is ok, except for the picture big which occurs in, like, 1 out of 50 cases. If u know how, just flash/flax the phone with original, or even better - improved software. Hope I helped. :)

I have solved the problem with installation of Java applications from transflash. You just must put the stuff in the root card directory (not in /mobile). Now looking form some video to be played on the phone. Where can i find some short movie or something like that?

i have some "corrupt" pics too but i understad whi. i got the pictures from a friend whit morotola v3x and the pics ware made at 2 mpx so the soft of the fone was not abel to proces the picture but when i download them on my pc the problem was no longer a problem becouse the pisc ware good. i am pleased by the quality of the pictures made by the phone but in the dark them ar not so grate, the night mode is not a power one.

it is a good and nice phone. Everything works fine, the camera, the buetooth, the phone voice, the battery etc. It has 61 MB internal memory and plus memory card, so you can store as much as you want photos, videos and songs. I would recommend to anybody to buy Motorola E1070 without hesitation

My 1070 occasionally displays the "Picture Capture Failed" fault, and I've had one or two "corrupt" pics. Not as bad as some people here, though. No issues with voice yet. My main problem is an interference-like buzz when recording video. This lasts exactly 60 seconds, then clears. But occasionally it records video without the buzz... it's a nuisance. I hate texting on it - the cursor takes so long to move on - and too many of its functions are buried in submenus, but apart from that it isn't bad. I'm reluctant to return it to Orange for replacement because they charge a �15 "administration fee", even though they have supplied me with faulty merchandise :-(

nbkD: If you stored your pictures on the microSD card then you can access them in that way. But if you stored them on phone, you will need to set the phone to use USB for a data connection and get yourself Motorola Phone Tools utility.

Yes, afaik older Motorola E1070 phones with older software had serious problems with picture taking and sometimes it even corrupted all the data in memory. Anyway - if you have luck and get a working phone it is great! Like, one of the previous posts - I am also wondering if there is an easy way to increase the recording length of the video. It is limited to 30 seconds. What file do I need to edit in p2k mode and at what offset in it and to what? Is there also a way to change the video recording quality - imho the default is great for MMS, but you can see the compression artifacts. Thanks if anyone replys.

Hi all, I would like to give you all some advice.....stay well away from the Motorola E1070. I am now on my 5th (5) handset from Orange, all of which have suffered the same fault - "Picture Capture Failed". I have done some digging, and this is a known software bug. Orange will not replace with a diferent make handset so I have to live with it until my next upgrade :-(. You can temporarily fix this problem by restarting your handset, but it will go faulty again after a couple of days. You have been warned!

3 weeks with enough problems to change mobile. I have bought the v1075 (in Portugal) but I think it's the E1070 in other countries. Sometimes I can't get photos, when people phone me or the other way around I cannot hear the other party but the other party can hear me, unless i turn on the speaker. I'm not very pleased with this mobile phone. Well I'm angry.

well the day after i asked about the headphones i went and bought it anyway.Had it for 2wks. and i have to say i have had no problems with noise,camera,mp3 absolutly nothing and i got it for 29 euros with v-fone.I hope that you can all have the luck i do and get a good fully funcional phone and not a bummer one.And yes it is better than the v360.It rocks,good luck.

Quite a number of problems, firstly, when taking pictures, it always shows picture capture failed, with this problem is also accompanied by no sound received from the party when it rings. After switching to a new set, the same thing occurs and now i am on to my third replacement set, which i will be receiving soon hopefully it will not pose any problems.

Hi guys, I bought an E1070 2 weeks ago and I'm extremely happy with it, the pictures taken are great, the video is of average quality, I dont have 3G capabilities in my country but the WAP speed is quite good, the bluetooth works brilliant but I have a very anoying problem and is that whenever I make or recieve a phone call (the other end doesnt seem to detect this noise they hear me quite good) or when I enable the speaker function for the handsfree call or when I hear music (mp3) downloaded from my pc the speaker makes a terrible noice like some kind of interference the only way to avoid this is hearing everything throw the bluetooth handsfree so I dont know if anybody else has this problem if you do please help me because I love this phone!!!!!

howzit.at the moment i got the v360 and i dont need software to load up the mp3 as it appears as removable disc.wats the deal with people asking for software for this one does it not run on the same basis.you can get it here in spain for 159 euros on prepay vodafone or if you transfer from another company to a contract 3g they give it to you.if you dont need software it sounds like a good deal.andwat type of earphone conection does it have i dont see one in the review pics.

This phone is quite good, it comes with 512MB Memory card, headphones and usb cable. The features of the phone more or less puts it inline with the Sony w800i. The only aspect that concerns me is the structure of the phones navigation software. I personally didn't find it user friendly, its fine after you spend time learning it but in my opinion its wasted time. Simple things like adjusting the time settings involve endless navigation which would be no better than a maze.

i just bought this phone about a week ago and i've experienced some problems with this phone. i can't seem to hear the other party without turning on the speaker mode. i've tried modifiying the settings but nothing has worked. and i have even master reset it. i don't know if this is normal. other than this problem, this phone is GREAT. though it's abit "fat", it's perfect. (: wonder if anyone of you have this problem. ;//

I got this fone as a free upgrade from orange uk. When it came i found in the box updated motorola tools, stereo headset, usb data cable and a 512MB MEMORY CARD!!! Imagine how stoked i was!! Now i've got half a gig i use it as mp3 player and to watch whole movies as it's 3gp and mp4 compatable. oh yeah, i also talk 2 people with it sometimes aswell!!! lol :) THIS FONE ROCKS MATE! 10/10 FOR MOTO!!!

yes v3x is better than e1070 so far, because v3x got 2mp cam with more talk time and is lighter in weight than this one. but than this is all the info i got from this website. i m sure v3x is better than this one.

Hi, i'm currently using a v3i, and kinda disagree with some of ur comments. 1. Every phone has problems. I've met with promoters from all the other brands (nokia, samsung, sonyericsson, lg, benq siemens, panasonic, etc) Even the latest phones are problematic. However, It really depends on how u use it. 2. For this phone, its only a 1.3mp camera, if u're lookin for a high quality cam try the v3x which has macro mode for it. 3. As for me, i find that v3i is very user-friendly. and i'm quite certain that the interface usage is similar for most models within the same brand. It usually takes some time getting used to a different brand of phone, definitely, and you also need to spend some time to explore the phone features. Once u understand how it works, you'll love Motorola! Besides, it would have to be something impressive about it to have won so many awards (v3x won the best 3GSM phone, v3 won the best mobile, design award..etc) =)

Don't believe in the rating of the phone here, sometime can be very biased. Oftenly you bought the phone very good rating but not really true. Test out the phone yourself is the best way. I am quite puzzled motorola phones usually got high rating here but it's really not user friendly, poor camera, etc.. If you can wait, go for the Nokia N93 with 3 megapixel with 3 X optical zoom, wifi, etc.. Even the current N70 can beat all the motorola phones in term of the functions and camera quality...

Guest, If you want a good camera, video phone and user friendly phone, once for all better go for nokia phone even you need pay a bit more. I have been giving motorola many chances, forcing myself to like and use the phones but ended up back to nokia phones. This E1070 is worst than V3X (already quite bad). When you take photos or video, you can only see half screen on the display which I do not know why they design such thing. Though I'm not a die hard fan of nokia but the fact is that nokia phones are really good and followed by sonyericsson. I suggest that you try out the phone if possible before you buy it if only it's very cheap. No point waste your money if expensive.

Anyone has problem with the camera of E1070? I have read review commenting that the photo and video quality of it is bad. Is that true? Can the phone record more than 10 minutes video rather like other models like V3i, or V3x, which can record a max of 10 mins only of video?

i have been using this phone for 2 weeks and i've found many disadvantages already. I can send photos to my mac and my pc using bluetooth but i can't send pics or mp3 back to the phone.. I have the usb cable but i have no cd. I've tryed to syncronize it with both my computers but i had no sucess. About the camera, it is much better then the preview given here, but it is repetedly getting bugs. Sometimes it says that the capture have failed, some other times it saves the photos but they get corrupted... The phone is great, but sometimes it pisses me off!! pic exemple: -->

After solving the problems with GPRS connection (was not phone fault but TIM - italian operator) I must complain about some software problems. Sometimes (not regulary) I cannot see what numbers are behind the "missed calls". I press "received calls" and the phone comes back to the normal screen. And a few days ago I had a few "received calls" on the list.

Let me add also that the fact that Motorola does not allow to download user manual (I have the italian one, but I speak italian only a little) neither any application to communicate with the telephone via USB... Well, I think next time I'll come back to Nokia, even if at this moment Motorola was a solution cheaper than any Nokia (I needed bluetooth and EDGE or UMTS).

I have bought it a couple of weeks ago to have GPRS modem connected to laptop via bluetooth. I live in Rome. Well... it works, but in the capital city of Italy I rarely get GPRS signal! This is a shame. Shame on TIM which is I think part of telecom italia. My phone is partly useless because of it. Anybody knows if there exists a (micro) usb headphones which would work with this phone? I'm not sure if I like the idea of spending 100 euros on Bluetooth headphones.

koes, u can capture self-portrait picture when ur phone is not open....just activate the camera mode n close the cover of the phone. the mirror function is 2 reflect ur position from left to right vice versa...the phone come with a CD with software which allowed u 2 transfer files....using the USB cable to transfer files which come together with the phone. hope this helps...thanks

I've bought it yesterday by 45 USD in Spain. The Camera is not as bad as it is said. it brings a card of 64 MB + 64 MB of the phone. Also it brings stereo free-hands and data-cord. Somebody knows if it is possible to make photos without opening the phone?, using the external screen? In camera menu in option->camera settings->mirror on/off, what it means?� Where i can download the software to connect it to pc? Thanks

I have had this phone since the beginning of january and I've had loads of problems with it. My phone would randomly not receive calls, it would not tell me when I had missed a call, it would not allow me to access certain phone numbers and my call lists,it would tell me I had a new text message when I did not, it would lose signal randomly in the middle of phone calls and eventually it would not find network at all. Eventually the company exchanged the phone for a new one but I am having some problems again. Has anyone else had problems?

it's a cool phone and isn't too expensive but i think if motorola makes more funtions like FM radio, autofocus for the camera like the E1120, this phone will become an excellent phone... and maybe the color change it to all metalic silver..... in spice of that it's a good phone

well i think it has to be expensive. the mp3 data storage and the video call phone, its like impossible if it is gonna go down. i mean technology is getting better while prices go higher, think about it. i like it and all but consider that yourself that since it didnt come out yet, its likely that the first time price would be expensive unless we're lucky XD.
