I love moto fones, unfortunately this model has a very low memory that it even fails to start when the memory is full. Meanwhile, I just use it as a basic call/sms fone. Memory cannot handle even the internal app updates or a single app from the store. The worst experience I had over moto fones.

i have this fire xt for about 1,5 year , i almost sell it , but after i learn about tweaking the internal memory , and link2sd extreme methode , the 157mb internal memory now is 97% always free :) also fire xt can be used for BBM now , great !!!

I am extremely disappointed with the on board memory of this phone. The battery life is also abysmal when the net connection is on. Terrible phone when one is travelling. Also, some basic features, e.g. creating groups in the phone book, are not there. The return sign on my phone needs more than a touch to work :-/ All-in-all not a good experience.

I have been using this mobile from 1 year and my experience with is mobile is not so good... It has got vey low memory and hangs a lot while calling or opening any application. Sometimes it takes one to two minutes to establish a call... (which is worst thing). If you are planning to buy a new mobile, go for 1 or 2 GB RAM.

This is a great phone except for one major issue. 150MB of internal memory is ridiculous, especially when it comes with Google apps you can't remove from the phone. Want to use Facebook, Whatsapp, A music player of your choice, Twitter, Yahoo Messenger, Skype, Instagram? Ha...make your choice. You can basically only use one of these apps on the phone at a time. It's a joke that they think a smartphone can have so little storage.

This phone makes me very tired. I regret buying this phone. too small for its internal memory and after the social network download 2 programs, 2 weeks must be in the factory settings (initial) due to memory full by the automatic update of some congenital program. any online internet suddenly lost phone signal. and when we stop browsing the internet then the signal reappears. I bought this phone 2 days new, lcd suddenly out of line, in exchange for new ones by the service center and 1 day later the camera dead for no reason. in exchange new again 15 days later totally dead. and after 30 days my phone was totally dead again. but since has been more than 1 month, then I have to send it to a service center in the city center of Jakarta. and it takes 2 months. I do not know what's going to happen again with my phone. I am still waiting back to me.

Its not about SD memory, its about the memory given by company to you(called user space memory). User space memory is very low for this phone. Thats why it get filled when you install only 2apps. You can root your phone and then you can use an app called "app2sd"

using this about 3 mths now and everything works well,do a lot of web browsing over wifi and no complaints,the camera takes very good pics, and the flash is good up to about 8 ft in total darkness,some apps can't be moved from the phone memory but others can be moved(not bothering to get it rooted to move more apps to sd card),making and receiving calls is good,battery lasts 2 days with moderate use,hardly use 3g,pinch to zoom works well,no need to use shutter button,i use the on screen button to focus and take pics,installed --wake all--from play store so i can use volume buttons to wake phone instead of power button alone,--a nice reasonably priced package with most of the standard features. i use automatic screen brightness and all my apps i update manually,bluetooth always worked well,both sending and receiving files,and while browsing i clear the cache regularli and use the task killer frequently also.

i am new in this forum and sometimes am too annoyed for this phone i dont know why ... my memory card is 8gb and i only download just 2 application and the phone can always be telling me insufficient memory prompting me to delete some data or it can be for emergency calls and i will switch of the phone and it will come back normal ...one thing i observed is the poor battery performance ...there was a day i charged it fully and i did not receive any call and i just dont even pick the phone to check if there was a caller then the following day the battery is down again to zero

Every android phone have poor battery.. it's normal. Change your connection to gprs/2g mode if just chat and browsing. You'll get around 30% battery save

Somehow all VoIP apps would use the loud speaker if no handsfree is connected, kind of annoying. No customized ROM (yet), Stuck in Android 2.3 Ugly : The cams are not supported in Skype, which was what I bought it for. Very low on memory if not rooted. Verdict : Given my original intention is already defeated, there are better buys than this phone (Sony Tipo, Huawei G330, Samsung Galaxy mini, etc.)

No.. it is fine. Not slip in hand, comfortable to grab, nice quality. But it is so hard to open. If you constantly change sim card, or have so many error, you have to release the backcover and release the battery. Use guitar pick to open.

Tips: Backcase SOOOO hard to open. Use guitar pick with 0.5 mm thickness. Buy at music store, price less than 1 U$.

Agreed.. camera not too good. lack of contrast, flash very aggresive. If you use pc, you can enhance photo result via photoscape, or another photo editor (i use photoscape because it's the easiest). Overall, this is nice phone.. i don't say perfect phone. Worth the price :)

Sure my friend.. First you must backup all data in sd card. All data will gone, then: 1. Search for software name Mini Tool Partition Wizard. I use it. Download and install to pc 2. Release sd card from fire xt, use card reader 3. Open Mini Tool Partition Wizard 4. Delete partition on sd card 5. Create partition (i use v-gen class-6 32 GB) 6. First partition is FAT32 (i make 28 GB), this is for your user data, type=primary 7. Second partition is Ext2/Ext3 (i make 2 GB), this is for your applications, type=primary 8. Third partition is Swap (i make 1 GB), this part for RAM swap, type=primary 9. Apply.. Done Swap partition for help your RAM task. I find it useless. I think it's because i used class-6 sd card. If you have extra money, for better result, you can use class-10 sd card. It's too risky (for me). RAM work everytime, i'm afraid my sd card will get bad sector because the swap partition do task more that the other partition. Also have battery drained effect. The application for swap RAM is ram expander (i don't know if there is similar application with same function, i only tried ram expander). Blackmarket have it.. download the apk and install it to your fire xt. Hope that can help.. goodluck :D

I can. My phone status is rooted. Already 20 games inside: angry birds all series, PES 2011, New superstar soccer, forget the rest. Apps is more than 20. If u are not phone advance user (cannot do manual hack), don't buy this phone.. small internal memory, that is the main cause of crash and hang. If u advance user, then go for it. However, this phone is outdated. Choose wisely.

Do not buy this phone, there are newer ones that have better specs, if you are tight on budget, go for cherry mobile flare. 150 mb internal memory for user, so sooo small, unless you root the device you can increase the memory but i doubt that the casual consumers do the rooting, my advice is do not buy a smartphone this season. wait until the end of January 2013, there will be a great price down because of the coming CES 2013 where new devices will be unveiled, it means 'sale sale sale' of mobile devices.... in short, this phone sucks big time at this moment of time. hope this helps

Hello Denise.. i don't use root checker before, i haven't root any phone also before. all i know is i google, i found web that have step by step manual to root the fire xt. it works for me (in indonesia), i don't know how in u'r country, because there is custom rom that we flash when we root it. custom rom it dependable on region or area i think. i'll give u the web link when i'm online via pc, it's on my firefox bookmark

agreed.. if u're heavy gamers don't buy this. add 20-30 U$, buy xperia tipo. quite cool for some low hd games. but u don't get 3.5 screen, 5mp autofocus and front cam. I'm gamers, but not heavy gamers. angry birds, playstation and gba emulator, pes 2012, nfs shift. that's more than enough games for me.

My review about fire xt: For me personally no problem at all.. u know the price range, so u get what u paid 1. Cam: Below average. Lack of colour. Picture in outside not bad. Inside and lack of light condition is terrible. Flash doesn't helped at all. Solution: Install cam 360 to help with better image (colour). Install nightvision cam to help in low light condition. 2. Video recording is not really nice, very dark. Only great in outside situation. 3. Sound recording is terrible. Use mp3 high quality recorder. 4. Internal memory can solved by root u'r phone. 5. Sound output is so low. U can't hear clearly for music or video. Use great headset, and u will feel the difference. 6. Back button, there is no problem at all. I read issues about back button. I assumed u see video from youtube which show back button is not responsive. It is because they put it at the flat position (desk, table). yes it will hard to push every navigation button if u put in flat position. 7. Display is not so good 8. Battery and heat issues. Tell me which android phone who doesn't have problem with battery and heat? all of them have it. Just that from me. This phone is fairly realible due to the price range. U can't expect much from this phone.. if u wanna complain about this phone. Feel should be this and that, well u have to pay more to get.. maybe iphone or any quad-core phone with nvidia tegra. For me this phone is perfect (perfect for my wallet also) :P

But don't expect so much, because fire xt use old arm6, andreno 200, and around 300 MB ram left when operate. That's no problem with me.. u wanna more? then pay more for high-end device. 1. Root u'r phone. 2. Partition u'r SD card. I used 16 GB SD. I make 3 partition. 12 GB for data, 2 GB for applications, 1 GB for ram swap. Use class 10 SD card if possible (I use class 6 SD card due to my financial problem) 3. Install link2sd(search in google play, it's free) 4. Allow superuser 5. Open link2sd after u download apps, create link. it will move the application to the SD card, which is the second partition: 2 GB partition. Cpu think the second partition is the real internal memory. 6. Internal memory problem solved. If u don't believe me, here's my screen capture of my games collection.. just 11 games on the screen, due to maximum icon in home, just 16 icons. I have more games instead

video quality of my Motorola fire xt and battery life of my Motorola fire xt is around 2days after repair of software from service center...it take 15 minute to update software from service center. pre install software/os get some bugs while use it for 2-5 month so software update/repair is necessary.

its a great phone and a value for money i might say been using this phone for 5months now...can play most games like raging thunder and more...it does not over heat or lag...but really battery life is quite frustrating same with the video quality its to shakky and always out of fucos...none the least its a great phone compare to some other phones in the market in its price range...

please its really silly to ask questions like will this phone get ics or jb update. it has just 105 mb after gingerbread update.internal free space diminishes that chance. it definitely wont even get 2.3.6 gb update. this is a low end device, while high end devices still struggling to get next update.best thing to do is get 3rd party app to look like ics or jb.

just bought dis fone 1 month back, pls very important notes 1.rooting very easy 5 min a)install sutlr x86 or x64 depending on the computer b) patch and super one click 2.flash recovery is done with rsd lite and motorola custom rom (very impt in case u get bricked and on a boot loop) 3.camera 5mp is very old edition, galaxy y 2mp better as its new 4.screen very dim (very less lumen) 5.never never never ever use clockmod rom application or nandroid backup(ur device will neverboot again). 6.root free up space by making normal apps as system apps thru link2sd and remove excess ringtones thru root explorer. 7.no updates to come so just change ui thru apps like go ex or nova. etc 8. notifications controls like bt or wifi and shorcut apps like samasung--- install notification toggle,its free see. the fone is actually good considering the price screen size, built,front camera,loud audio if u want all features in cheap, mind that led flash cant be used as torch, faults-- gets hot using while charging or hotspot tether, occasional reboot, bad battery endurance considering 1500mah. but still after flashing with rom from india its fine, europe i think does the prob. and i like it and prefer people to buy it and after extensive use wont be disappointed unless u are a high end device freak.

Its nt at al worth buying it. I bought it & within 2 weeks the fone started giving problems. It took 10hrs just to charge. V got d battery changd & then aftr 2 days the fone was nt starting. Gave it to the service center, dese people hv nt yet taken any action on it 4m past 4 weeks. If any prob in ur fone, dey get al d parts 4m chennai, India. Am totaly shatterd with the service! A very bad phone indeed. The phone gets hot within a short time of usage. The touch screen is malfunctioning and things are getting seleted without user's choice. The back key is not sensitive. If you call or recieve any one's call while sweating you can't simply hang up the phone without the other one hanging up first. :'( total wastage of money. Very sorry to say

This phone is very good believe me i have been using this phone for 2 months, battery backup is very good, good camera with flash,HD SCreen,Good sound quality, high speed internet , doesn't hang or switch off like samsung or nokia mobile, It is far better than Samsung galaxy ace , the only drawback is less internal memory but still i have installed more than 50 apps in my phone , each app takes atmost 500 kb to 2mb internal memory so u can easily install more than 70 apps on your phone , one thing this phone does not supports Temple run Game :(, but you can install Run like hell which is alternate option for temple run, So dont waste your money on purchasing other phones , My rating for this phone is 8.5/10.

Hi Everyone, this mobile is good but internal space is very low, and as you know, even some of the applications are transferable to External SD Card, some spaces are used up by each application. And without application, there is no use of Android. So be careful. Samsung mobile phones are good in terms of Memories, but i have heard and seen a lot that it gets hanged frequently, switchoff automatically, black screen etc. This phone has not flash camera, you cant click pictures at night. And also, it does not support FLASH BASED WEB PAGES and Flash Contents, another draw back. Rest is ok. If you dont want to use application much, satisfied with 4-5 application, this is a good phone. What i have seen that Android Phones are not stable, each and every Android phone has battery problem. You will always find a drawback in each and every mobile. Even in Sony erricson, there is battery problem, sometimes you need to charge twice if you use continuoulsy your phone.

Although this droid's got faster CPU than HTC xplorer, but even with that it cant beat HTC xplorer. First thing people say the screen is bigger. Don't look at the screen size,resolution also matters and xplorer has got the same resolution in comparatively small screen that makes more pixels per inch(PPI), results in more clear display..!! IN terms of processor, 600mhz of xplorer performs far better than the 800mhz fire xt. Moreover xplorer's got BT 3.0, and a faster moodem 14.4 mbps,double of the fire xt(7.2 mbps). And the wrst thing about motorola,is service(In India atleast). Calls and e-mails will not be answered. If your phone is going to service center, better buy another one, because you are not going to have your phone for 5-6 months. Even after so called quick service, you cant guarantee that you will have that thing serviced. In my case they told me that the phone cant be repaired, and should be replaced, or you can have your money back, which will take "some more" time..!! After all MOTOROLA is a shit..!! Dont even think to buy..!!

I also bricked my phone didn't even remembered my "build number" this brick was possible if you format your sd card containing ext2 partition though i'm completelly noob in android because this is my first android handset and i couldn't wait to root it on the very first day of purchase next day thank god i found your thread and here are the steps to recover your phone 1.Download european .sbf on the first page in .7z container 2.Download RSDlite 5.6 3.Disconnect handset from pc and Press Power+volume down button+camera button 4.In few seconds you will face white Domino plus screen 5.open RSDlite and connect phone and provide path to your .sdf file press "show device" button 6.you may view one or more N/A under list of devices in columns do not worry 7.press "start" button flashing may take 10-15 mins. do not unplug your device in between 8.let reboot take place but keep it connected once 100% completion is shown you are free to unplug you device 9.remove battery and reboot 10:root again I am facing only one problem thats of 3G/2G switch(earlier had) which is replaced by EDGE/WCDMA please provide work around of the problem this handset belongs to INDIA and didn't had "Arabware" in it though i removed that peice of crap. Please also suggest will the removal of qik video may have similar consequences as with MotoSwitch UI removal

i hava the rooted phone and install adobe flash player in it and it consume only 72kb in my phone memory and i am using link 2 sd and move to sd card. adobe flash player 11.1 i am using in my phone and firefox beta chrome work on my armv6 converted by xda developer. xda try to make ics room but only one problem is its bootstrap lock.and defy bootstrap hack not working.

hi thanks for your reply. i am not talking abt the internet options...to PC. I just want to know how can i connect this handset with pc (like nokia pc suite or Samsung Kies Software) here i installed the releated drivers and device manager suite and still i m not able to connect this device with PC where i can directly enter my contacts and update contacts directly in pc by connecting. and also i can save my contacts back up in PC. i have the contacts file which was taken from samsung file that file i want to import into this mobile. Current situ is that people have nothing to do with a quad core phone. So to fix that apps must arrive that use that much power. thats not true all apps is work in all 2.1 to 2.3 more than 70% android phone is struct with 2.3 so its impossible that company left the phone and they does not make software or apps. all apps work on every android os mainly 2.2 and up is important for apps run.

About ice cream sandwich and android o.s.. i think we are being trapped by android (google). As we all know, ICS support for min 1 GHZ processor or dual core. ok if you have these problem its easy to get out of this problem try factory reset its solve your problem. if problem continue go to service center and ask them to flash your software already do so i have the wifi hotpot hang problem. but when i flash my software my phone work very smooth. it take 20 minutes to flash the software from service center.

Thank you very much for your quick response friend. yes, they are have really bad specifications.. but here in my country, Indonesia.. is on the same price range, what a waste of money if i buy samsung or lg. About second hand phone, i have uncomfortable experience, so i choose to not buy second hand again. Spice mi-425 stellar.. hmmm.. it have great specification, i already read the specifications.. 1 Ghz processor, 4 inch display with 480x800 pixels resolution, but doesn't have secondary camera. 4 inch too big for the pocket. I already see and touch motorola fire xt dummy in the showroom.. feels great in my hand.. perfect. The spice mi-425 stellar.. it's not well-known brand, I will be dead in the water for the after sales support. I mean, every product always have defect product release, or broken slowly because the defect effect.. where i can solve that, claim the guarantee.. i have uncomfortable experience too with the not well-brand product. "if you does not do any experiment on phone", what does that mean friend.. I have plan to root the micro sd card, because i already read many previous comment, mostly say about lack in internal memory. Having plan to install some HD games too.. so, the solution is rooting. I know motorola fire xt doesn't support ICS, the processor only 800 MHz, not a big deal for me.. but at least it have andreno 200 GPU, well can't expect much from game experience.. money talk here.. want great game experience, simply we must raise the amount of money. I'm not game freak, I just have some free time when wait for client at office.. to release my stress, I play game sometimes.. not kind of heavy games, cause it will add more to my stress level.. hahahaha. Have been using this mobile for the past one week and these are my opinions about this mobile -800mhz processor works fast.Have been using this phone heavily but no lag whatsoever -big screen really gives this phone great looks and makes it easy to use(no problems with typing with large fingers) -camera is not that good if you are using this at home, though works quite good if you are using it outdoors. -Most of the internal memory gets used up by some default application which you can't delete without rooting the phone.Even though you transfer most apps to sd card,they take about 1-2 mb of your phone memory -Most of the people say it has low resolution,but i never felt so.This phone really has a nice display.(i love live wallpapers especially the water one) -Battery backup is decent (afterall its a android).Not bad not very good.Using internet and playing games continuously for about 6 hours drains the battery.Lasts for about 1.5 days for mild usage.

A bug in this phone that i note is less internal memory. gaming is ultimate i play real race2, asphalt5,nfs shift, nfs run, angry birds etc. service centre is far from my house only 3.5 km. very slim i luv it. if camera quality go bad then use CAMERA 360, i promise that camera quality really improved from this software.

Right the touch of Fire XT is not as smooth as my previous LG Optimus one. Although other features are better for this price range. Its surprisingly thin and light weight and Rear and front cameras good. I love it having flash, which I always missed in my last phone(impossible to capture night images).

a nice phone but the materials are from China & also the labor so expect A LOT OF DEFECTS!!! i bought mine a week ago and defects manifested on the 3rd and 4th day: 1)earpiece of the phone doesn't during a call, 2)vibration for receiving calls and text doesn't work, 3)selection sound doesn't work, 4)battery lasts around 5 to 6 hours with 1 hours use of wi-fi. i'm from the Philippines & motorola has only 4 partnered service centers nationwide according to motorola staff itself. their staff don't even know what to say or do when i surrendered my defected phone to them. they even took my SD card so i had to delete everything in it(when they shouldn't). the repair takes about 2-3weeks according to their staff but i'm guessing it'll be longer than that. so now i'm just borrowing a cellphone from my brother cuz my phone is in a service and repair center.

ha ha.... sony xperia tipo has ics os so how can you tell that fire xt will also get ics os. Dude ics requres more internal memory. processor is not a big thing for updation. ICS ROMhas big size more than 512mb Am an explorer user it also hav low internal memry(512mbROM) so this year we both will not get ics updation. It's similar to my Samsung Ace except that it has a front camera, and you cannot delete part of the messages in a thread as one deletion. You have to delete it one by one; otherwise, the only option is to delete the whole thread. I find the qwerty better as the different punctuation marks are readily available like the question mark, comma and even the @ sign. Predictive text is inherent but it does not complete the word for you but choices are given so you can either choose a suggested word or just go on keying your letters. Like other brands, the reply text space though is just a one liner view so it's harder to review your reply. The lock/unlock key though is quite hard to feel. Camera lags a lot and no multi shot unlike my Samsung Ace. I'd say it's a great buy for its price.

Guys, i honestly don't recommend this device because I own it and i don't think it is gonna last for too long. Sometimes it suddenly show 'Low on memory' but after I switch it off and then again switch it on there is no problem. Moreover, today I'm not getting range anywhere. hello mate! i don't think it will support ICS even after some years. motorola company leave there mid-range phones as it is. they don't do OS update except for their high-end phones(and not all their high-end phones). period. it does support 2.3.5Gingerbread, however. I just bought mine 2 days ago and my unit already has 2.3.5 built in it. :D the phones is really nice compared to other android phones of other brands which usually cost 3k to 4k more. and don't believe what you're hearing that the colors on the screen look a little washed or blue-ish or whatever. my unit is more vibrant than samsung and Lg phones of the same specs. this phone costs less and is really worth buying.. hope you could get yours soon! cheers mate!

yes you can turn off the vibration just do these step go to setting language and keyboard multi-touch keyboard (multi touch keyboard setting) untick9(remove tick from ) vibrate on keypress now you can remove the vibration on key pressing. try moto input method keyboard better than skype keyboard and multi touch keyboard.

this is from my own experience of vdo chatting with my fiancee who has fire xt, from my galaxy tab. . . using bsnl 3g & reliance 3g. . . fire xt does NOT support 3g vdo call incoming or outgoing (sure everybody knows tat) inbuilt qik is a piece of crap tat drops call every 10sec max. but it does work, no doubt about tat skype/gtalk vdo call will NEVER work on fire xt due to its ARMv6 processor. even skype voice call doesnt record sound from mic fring & tango vdo calls r nice! tango being the best vdo call app for mobos. but dont try 2way vdo, things will get crappy. 1way vdo works super smooth

for first problem go for factory reset then make memory always greater than 30mb internal and also use class 6 memory card and on the vibration of softkey touch.then the touch of softkey and response really fast. and there is some problem with the software they use froyo software for softkey and gpu driver for the gingerbread they does not make a new keneral for that. .so these problem occur.your calender also work and while reset your phone. your are at 2.3.5 only internal and sd card is formatted. these flashlight and video recording flash problem is solve with the custom rom rooting.hope 2.3.6 help with the custom root.

Poor display quality, below average 5 mp camera quality, a strange effect occurs when scrolling. the rests are fine. Can't expect much for low budget smartphone. I have Hisense E910 CDMA with the almost the same price. But it performs a lot better than Fire XT 530. It has 4" @ 480x800 IPS TFT Capacitive with 16 m col. 1 ghz cpu. Etc. But hey it's a Motorola dude!.

hi Sony Ericsson neo v take 1.5 hour for full charge.so do not think that it take 2 hour so charge less.if you does not believe buy a luminous battery for fire xt cost 250 and take a external charger cost rs60 and use it you battery backup definitely improve as if your battery has any problem. and all android phone charhe full from 0-100% in 1-3 hour only.

If you are the lover of good pictures, this handpnone not suitable for you because the quality of screen only 165 ppi , it like have only 256k colours. Also speaker sound can't very loud. there are so many peoples who are confused between motorola fire xt and htc explorer so the answer to their question is that if u want only internet performance then take explorer otherwise fire xt is a good phone because it has a bigger screen so texting from this phone is better then that on the explorer it has a 5mp autofocus camera with although its not like a sony camera but still it is better then the camera of explorer. it also has a front camera but its good for nothing coz it doesn't support direct video calling neither skype calling butstill it can be used as a blurr mirror,the ui of explorer is better but i can live without it. both phone have 100-110mb free memory the only plus point of explorer is that it supports full flash and on the other hand fire xt supports only flash lite. both phone will support same number of games and apps if someone wants lil bit performance form the camera then fire xt is a good otherwise explorer

I bought the phone-MOtorola Fire XT in October. I started using it only from december. within a month the USb/ charging port went bust. I could charge the phone only after switching it off and the USB just did not work. Still, the phone was usable. Since it was under warranty, I gave it in the service centre. They gave it back claiming they had 'repaired' it. When I switched it on and tried to use, it not only had the SAME problem, they had also done something to the earpiece and I could only use it on speaker. I had read its awful reviews vis-a-vis customer service....but this is just plain obnoxious. After 4 months they have said that it is Not Repairable'....A fault that THEY introduced in the phone! It costed me 11000 rs...down the drain.

1- Go to market, search for Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc. Once installed, they'll automatically integrate with with phone apps (phonebook, picture gallery, music) 2-Digital Compass is a hardware not software. It works with GPS, google maps. If want a compass only. Download compass app off market. 3- I'm using my old Monte earphones. Never had a problem. 4- Again, search for keyboards, and "private conversations" in android market. There are so many apps for that :D 5- Motoswitch is the launcher. Motorola Fire XT sucks... I surveyed the market thoroughly and thought this is the best value 4 money mobile and bought it a month ago. I don't remember dropping it or any rough usage... the touch is so insensitive and doesn't work at times... I cannot pick up calls in time due to this... Its 800Mhz processor seems soo unadequate at times doing simple stuff. Well, it depends how good your provider is my friend. Believe me my Android knowledge is very deep. I am a java developer and linux RHCE. The fact is that some providers (such as TIM Italy, my provider and generally most EU providers) preload applications that: a) cannot be removed unless you are ROOT b) cannot be moved to sd-card unless you are ROOT Always give the benefit of the doubt before replying with such arrogance. you may be wrong just like you were in this case. Hi, I think you are not a regular android user. Fire XT has Android 2.3 and in that you can choose to move your applications to SD Card. Click on Settings Button-> Manage Apps -> downloaded Apps -> and click on the app that you wish to move to SD Card. I have atleast 15 apps installed in my FireXT and still only 60% of internal memory is occupied. Please check whether its a problem with your knowledge or phone before posting reviews. in the range of 9300(approx) this is the best phone you can get keeping in mind the Processor, Screen quality and Size, RAM and ROM Size and Camera .

Beware that the Fire XT has a ridiculously small system drive and by default all apps will install there. yu will not manage to install more than 5-6 apps (or even less if apps are large ones like skype, tune-in, winamp, etc). But once rooted you can remove all crapware your provider inevitably installs on a new phone and use link2sd to move all newly installed aoo to sdCard. Only after rooting this device becomes a very interesting (and cheap too) phone. To add to what I said already, if you don't install something to manage "minfree" settings (the best app by for for that is AutoKiller Memory Optimizer) your battery will hardly last one full day. again such software only works on rooted devices. For video calls, you can use: Yahoo messenger, Viber, Vtok (google talk), Qik, Tango, or Fring. I use Yahoo video when traveling and it works perfectly :) Skype doesn't work because they insist on using thier own code for video capture instead of the API in Android 2.3+ They intentionally block phones from using video. Call it corporate evil!! Compared to Galaxy Ace; Fire XT has a secondary camera, more RAM, brighter screen, SAME INTERNAL STORAGE Compared with HTC wildfire S: Fire XT has larger screen, faster processor, secondary camera, SAME INTERNAL STORAGE As for camera quality, download "zoom fx" from market and you'll get excellent pictures. The picture quality is not that bad. In face I have a both the Galaxy Ace and the Fire XT and I believe that the XT takes better pictures. The problem I have with the Fire XT is videos in low-light situations. To get the best results, keep all settings on auto, and when taking the picture, half click the shutter button to "auto-focus" then full click to take the picture. after looking at many phones some how i came to conclusion on buying this phone and its not a bad phone... I never wanted spice or micromax cause i dont believe that they are a class company... Every one has been using samsung too... I was confused between dell venue and xt 530. Venue was not available and so I bought this one. works well so far. But I see that the price of this phone has suddenly dropped. This is because there is another model of motorola xt 531 with same design and dual sim facility with a little upgraded os is coming in market. Skype video call does not work and has around 160 mb inbuilt memory which is disappointing.. it keeps running out of space and I cant move few things to phone memory. But video call works on yahoo fine you just have to download msngr and additional plugins. Good stylish body with finger print resistant back. cam quality is poor. My bros nokia 5 mg pxl clicks better pictures than this... over all not a bad phone in price range of 10 k... but if ur a dual sim user just wait for some time... same model with dual sim facility coming soon...

Excellent phone, I've been using it for 6 months now without any problems. I even like it more than my Galaxy Ace because it has brighter screen, better WiFi, and longer battery life. I must say I love Samsung Brand, but this is a no brainer: Both run Gingerbread Both have mid level cameras Same screen resolution and ppi Similar processor and GPU Advantages of the Motorola Fire XT: Better video capabilities (VGA vs 480p) FRONT FACING CAMERA (this one is huge) More ROM and RAM (512/512on XT vs 158/278 on the ACE) Fire XT is cheaper (at least in Amazon.com) Then, I'd definitely go for the Fire XT

Hi, It's been more than 4 months that I am using this phone. My review: Camera: Pathetic, even a 2MP camera phone has a better picture quality. Touch : Good except the back button which works like a resistive touchscreen phone which is very irritating. Battery: After updating it to 2.3.5 battery is good. If you are okay with the above two negatives then go for it as other features are good or else don't buy.

I'm having trouble with the multitouch. When the second finger touches the screen the device detects it after a half a second and not immediately. You can test it with the "multitouch visualiser 2". I have 2.35 version. Can somebody with 2.34 test it ? Is there a way to go back to the previous version of android ?

Useless phone. Using this phone for last 1 month. Very poor battery backup, not even last for a day (with out wireless or 3G). Echoing users sound while talking. Poor picture quality even though boasting 5mp. Front camera does not support in Skype. Total waste of money. :(
