The worst android phone ever. Can't open a web page without getting prompted back home all the time, the handwriting feature suddenly changed to Chinese and can't be reversed to English anymore, and I need to charge the damned phone for about 3-4to times a day, and I keep getting the low memory warning all the time. Have tried rooting but no luck there. The only good thing is the hardware. I've slammed the device 3 times but it still works 'well' (well as the aforementioned, that is)

Hi I got this fone a month back purely for my office use. following are my observations: Pros: -Good looks -qwerty and touch screen -andorid -whatsapp compatible - Good sound -Accepatble speed during web browsing Cons: -battery issues (drains out quickly) -insufficient memory -NOT FOR GAME lovers Overall it is good choice if it i for bussiness use. but if you are looking for pers. use and a if u r looking to play lot games, this fone is not for u. DO NOT BUY IT !!! I lost important phone calls because it was locked up for hours. It might lock up after mode switching. Sometimes does not make a call when I press the green button. After I change from English to Greek, first letter is English! I got a white screen while it was in standby and no response from controls, I had to pull battery out. More issues have occured, so it is UNRELIABLE. I use it for 15 days, practically is DOA, I will sent it to Motorola service or to the recycle bin. Again, DO NOT BUY XT311

well if u load the phone with tons of apps then yes indeed it will be slow as it has only 256 MB of ram i suggest u get a 512mb ram android device :)

Since March 2012 I've used it slow-down, and works fine. But with the new Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 in my family, it push me up to concern abaout my "smartphone". From now, there are some upgradings that makes my phone in the new one: ROOT, LINK2SSD, ANDROID 2.3.5. So, now XT311 can do a verry fast responsive, about 4 days without recharging batery and of course a lot of Android aplications. Yeah, I have a cheap but powerfull SMARTPHONE.

I have been using the Motorola Fire XT311 for 20 months until the thing died today! I have found it to be the most frustrating phone I have ever used! Not long after I had the phone I had issues with charging the battery and how long it lasted...not long at all. Over the past 3 months I have had trouble with it telling me I am short on storage space yet I have only 3 photos on the thing, no music, no other programmes running other than Email. I bought an 8gb memory card and can't even get the phone to download on it. I have been told I need to buy a software update...after only 20months use!! Today the phone died...it won't charge at all even after trying on two power outlets, fiddling with the leads, taking the battery out and putting back in!! I now have to go and buy another phone...and it won't be a MOTOROLA!!!!

I finaly found a way to use accent marks. I just had to press Q before the vowel, since in the language i use there is no Q letter and it obviously could be used otherwise. So that is the solution; If you want accent marks on your language, try all the letters that your language does not have and you probably will step on the right key.

It's my 1st smart phone and i think it's a good one. I bought it only 80euros (~104us$)(with discount) and i have access to almost all android functionality. It play's games (like angry birds) relatively fast (only rare slow-downs). In another android phone i saw, the same games where running considerably slower. Memory is indeed small, but i do not need more for now. It's only a psychological issue... But there is one thing that bothers me a little and that is that i can't use accent marks with the physical qwerty keyboard. The dictionary of' course, usually provides the words i type including accent marks, but my typing speed really slows down, trying to keep my look on to these words. And the reason i bought a phone with qwerty, is for typing fast. So that is a problem. If you know a way to use accent marks efficiently, please en-light us too. Thank you.

I got this phone today. Its a great value for money. The thing i hate is the very low resolution and ppi. Icons look bad and text is awful. When you scroll on pages or apps you see horizontal lines. Memory is low but its not that bad. You can replace the launcher with a lightweight one and use less widgets.

Yes, I am facing the similar problem of display going blank intermitently (the only possible way of recovering is to remove and re-insert the battery). I did try upgrading the software to latest one. I upgraded the android version from 2.3.4 to 2.3.5. It didn't make much difference.. Also, the internal memory is very low compared to other competitors.. I am not happy with specs as well.

I have this phone for 4 months now.It's a good phone. Great battery back up ~3 days Low RAM.It lags a bit. Internal memory very small (not many apps can be installed). It's GPS works trouble free It's out-of-the-box handsfree feels very cheep. Keyboard works like a charm. It works greats.I restart it after it charges to 100%. No problem. It's dirty cheap!

Hello All, I am using this handset for last one and half months. My overall experience with this phone is good. Its battery lasts for a day only. Touch is excellent. My main concern is its RAM. I read lots of review of Motorola XT311 and they all qouted about 256MB of RAM. But, till now I have seen only 130MB of RAM in my phone as a sum of used and free memory (RAM). Hi all, Hope my comment helps you making decision on buying mobile. Issue no.1.-I bought Fire XT311 few months back. I had to reformat it on the next day. Issue no.2.-Ever since I have started using this phone, I have never seen it working fast. I called customer care, they asked me to download an application, which never helped. Since then my phone has gone even slower. And now when I call they do not have any answer for it. So finally I have given-up. I would never recommend anyone to buy this phone ever

I tried on 2G connection, works slow for me. -Picture Gallery and even you can move screen on this phone on 3 sides -Access to Lacs of applications. Cons: -Battery life (1400 MH)- 1 day approx. (I charge almost daily) -No flash means no clicks possible in dim lights. -FM Quality in Delhi breaks up (Have checked in other mobiles like Nokia E52, N82 N91, Samsung L700, FM works superb) -Slightly heavy from normal phones. -Wi-fi and Bluetooth takes too much of battery power. -Good touch phone according to price bracket. Major problems: -While using the handset, screen goes blank and nothing responds. Only option left is take battery out and re-insert the same. -When you restart the phone, it takes hours for the phone to capture SD memory numbers. The thing that disappoints me is slow processor,not slim,no front camera and radio doesn't catch at places where it is audible. Of course i would reccomend it to my friends. I installed different stock Roms to this phone. But never saw the design shown in the display pic.If you want any assist in Rooting I can help you. But never install any custom roms. It won't give you any performance upgrade. But cynagom mode is abetter option but this phone doesn't support any.

I find that I am unable to download the GPRS/ MMS etc., Settings for this phone and this model is not listed on the BSNL site. Good android phone at this price. 1) Good battery backup 2)Great dessign although the qwerty keys are a bit sharp(but ok) 3)Good features Had two problems 1)led was always flashing. Solved it by rooting and uninstalling led notification app 2) No vibrations for notifications in silent mode . Solved it by installing an app.

The phone is great at the price offered compared to other phones. Memory is less 256 ram but get advanced task manger the problem is no more. Use equalizer for more good quality of sound. Wifi hotspot is amazing.Camera is of fair quality. Too many applications are not recommended or just shift the applications to run on SD card.Get adobe reader for viewing pdf....really great. If your budjet is below 10000 go for Motorola XT311

I somehow think the cause of the lag is MotoSwitch UI. Go get GO Launcher EX, at least it's not that lag.

Got this today. Laggy, because of slow processor and less RAM. Camera sucks. Looks expensive. Android 2.3 with qwerty at this price, only something by LG is available with qwerty at this price. OS is great. Screen is also good comparing with others in the price range.

Don't get panic. All phones will heat up while using internet. Also the battery drains so quickly. I don't kno whether the btry issue with my phone only. Any way i complained it to customercare and they offered a battery replacement. I don't kno whether it ll do or not.

I bought this phone on friday. And i really like it, the battery is a good 2 days with 3G network (i had a samsung c6625 before this, the battery life was almost 2 days with 2G mode). The touchscreen is good, already installed a lot of apps, from the android market. I am not really satisfied with the build quality of the phone, the case is made out of cheap plastic, and it feels very fragile. Besides that, i'm really happy with my choice(i had to choose from this one and a samsung galaxy fit).

I'm really satisfied. @THE REST OF YOU GUYS Stop complaining about the battery, what do you expect from a smart phone? All of my friends smart phones, regardless of the brand, have a battery lifetime of a MAXIMUM 48 hours run. So for those who have a tight budget, I personally recommend this phone. First of all HATSOFF to the new Motorola Fire XT 311. What an Android !! Its been 2 months I bought this phone and after experimenting thoroughly I have reached to the following conclusions. Overall rating 4.5 out of 5. Display - 320.240 Acceptable. Just as time passes by you forget that it is 320.240(there's so much exciting in the phone that u don't remember the resolution). Sound - never heard the stock earphones. Have panasonic noise cancelling tube earbuds(Awesome). All u have to do is download EQUALIZER app from Android market. It will make ur music simply earboosting. Interface - simply Butter. Excellent 2.3 Android interface. Touch - capacitive rocks. So does the motorola fire XT311. QWERTY - Absolute necessity for me. 2 instances are there where qwerty is a must,1. typing sms 2.emergently searching a contact. Very fine qwerty in this handset. SPEED - 600 Hz, a bit low. But the trick is - use less no. of widgets on the homescreen. remove the widget-People centric. download Advanced task killer and set status to AUTOKILL. Dont download too many apps. Those inbuilt are very sufficient except, equalizer, nimbuzz, advanced task killer. LOOKS - awesome. Nobody believes such a stylish masterpiece for INR 8000/-. Capacitive touch + QWERTY + Awesome looks make the phone a must buy for every Android Lover. INTERMET - ZOOmingggg !!!. wap sites & mobile sites open at the touch of a click. So fast, even a menu doesn't open from the homescreen at such fast speed.

I jus got this phone 3 days back. To start off with - The phone looks amazing, I mean the touch is very impressive and so is the qwerty keypad. U can type messages with ease. But the battery back up is not up to the mark. The worst part of the phone is the speaker and the audio through headphone - a total waste of money if u want a phone with good music output. The cam is decent though. Its 2.3.4 so the interface is very good.

I just bought this phone from ebay and the seller shipped it within 15mins. Expecting it to reach me tomorrow evening. I lost my phone so bought this one. I was actually waiting for BB Curve 9360. Will post a detailed review about the phone. The only thing I am concerned about is the Processor speed. Will post video and benchmark results tomorrow. Stay Tuned.

Hey!! It's available in India for Rs 9500 at retail outlets.. However, on Letsbuy.com it costs just 8999!! Also, if you apply a 10% off coupon (code: RCOMLB1), you'll get it for Rs 8099. I just bought it from there, it's the best deal out there but I'd suggest LG Optimus One because of better screen, memory & RAM. I think you can buy this phone in 8K INR. In my opinion it is a best cross breed phone between blackberry functionality and touch convinienace and also value for money. We cant compare this phone with other hight end phone (aka galaxy 2, iphone 4 etc) but within its realm (i.e. blackberry curve, nokia e6 etc) it is best in functionality and best in price phone. Motorola is famous for its build quality so we may see the build quality of this phone should be in similar lines if not par to the blackberry. I have an eye on this ohone and most probably will be buying this phone in a couple of days after going through the couple of user reviews.

Hi People This is the first time I bought a Motorola handset due to its incredible price in delhi Rs. 9400 from Noida Sec 18 market with Android 2.3 is icing on the cake. Touch feels quite responsive, even though keys are tightly packed but are ergonomic as well (well designed. Well I am using Airtel connection, but unable to use internet. I used Nokia E52 earlier, use to click only 0 option to connect. New to Android, I welcome your suggestions.
