It typically lasts 7-8 hours for it to die on full battery Normal Battery (70%) would take around 5-6 hours and a half Be careful the battery does drain quite a bit so I tend to take out the battery to stop it from draining that quickly I ended up buying a much larger bulkier battery that sticks out, it dd do the job as I can use it for 2-3 days on full batttery without charging it, it is a 7500 MAH battery offered by PowerBear on Amazon Canada, it also comes with a phone back and a case, it is quite curved to fit the huge battery. Used my galaxy note 3 phone for 2 years and 6 months(mind you, the phone is still very much okay, and I got it second hand!!) before getting my current phone. The phone is a really great phone frankly, never regretted getting it. Its light, great camera, durable(only got one single crack like after multiple falls) I'm attached to this baby😂

It is not an issue if you use 28nm and High Speed Snapdragon 8xx i don't know why people like to judge phone with overheating but they bought phone with Snapdragon class 8 which is not battery friendly due to power hunger, even S8 which using 10nm is still power hunger only 8 hours for normal uses and still having some heat even it is better than Snapdragon before 810

so im still using a note 3 even right now. Im getting a 7500 mah battery with it but its really good. for modern day the camera isnt good but everything else works fine. in a few years i could get a new phone but this does the job atm.

This flagship is soooo customizable! Had issue with touchscreens digitizer gone broken after phone falling into house pool but fixed it by using "vm overscan 0,200,0,0" command line in ANDROID TERMINAL (with root ofc?) and it makes my screen lower but also avoiding the defective area and no more ghost touch while playing games. Installed various CUSTOM ROMs on it and Official Resurrection Remix 7.0.2 is my first place choice for overall performance especially when it comes to Internet Connection speed, its blazing fast download. Second place choice is Havoc OS because of its almost competitive overall with Resurrection Remix.

Hi, xAJ thank you for your reply. I have the N9000T model, exclusive to T-Mobile. I don't know if this falls under the unsupported model that you mentioned in your post. What I do know is that Youtube has a lot of random people posting about how to update the Note 3 to a newer OS however the majority of videos don't have any support links and of those that do they don't seem to be the software used in the videos. It's frustrating because the Note 3 is a great phone even though it is older, it's a brick house and it won't die on me so I want to keep it running. Thank you again for your reply and support.

Which version of the device do you own? N9000? N9002? N9005? The latter two (the models with LTE based on Snapdragon CPUs) have official community support by the LineageOS project which will give you Android Pie, and installation instructions are provided on that project's wiki page. Unfortunately, N9000 (the model with 3G and an Exynos CPU) isn't currently supported anymore.

As far as official operating systems from the manufacturer, you will not get anything newer than Android 5. If you're willing to use an open source community-supported ROM, and your bootloader is unlockable (they might not all be) then it's possible to get Android 9.0 with (for example) LineageOS.

Did you drop your phone? Sometimes that can knock parts loose inside. I have had the Note 3 since it first came out and have had no issues. It could also be a potential issue with the channel your wifi router is broadcasting at, I had that one time. My Note 3 wifi was working everywhere but at home and when I researched the solution was to change the broadcast channel, that worked.

Still have my Note 3 since it was released. I have dropped in countless number of times, even in a hot tub as well as a puddle after a rain story (dirty brown water) and it still works very well. Obviously after 6yrs of having this phone it is showing normal wear and tear. The only issue I have with it is that it has started to slow down, certain apps crash when I try to use them, and it has some minor glitches from time to time. Any suggestions on what I can do? I still have the old Lollipop 5.0 OS on it which was the last upgrade in 2015, how can I upgrade the OS?

I've been using Note 3 for about 5 years now during this time I dropped it multiple times. My 4 year and 1 year kids grew up with it and you can imagine how children interact with a gadget. Still not a single scratch on the screen the body does bear some. I changed the first battery last year (after 4 years of use). I also own a Lenovo S60A, this is also a monster performer. I keep it for calls mainly and the battery last 3 days very easily.

exactly, i dropped it and get a very unnoticeable crack. now there's no display. cost of repair is much better buying new phone. my other Lenovo phone drop many times but it can withstand more than this crap flagship phone. furthermore the battery life is very poor compared to my Lenovo phone which is surprisingly is a mid range.

Sometimes Google Chrome freezes but I have no other complaint.I use the infrared LED with AnyMote universal remote app and this is a very useful feature. And Tidal works on Master resolution on it! Battery still works and must recharged every night. I love my Note3 and I will not change it till it will die.

I added a double capacity 7500mAh Powerbear battery to mine, and it lasts much longer than any of the more efficient modern phones. It makes the phone a bit thicker, but it's totally worth it.

Note 8 , if you are available on your budget . Because S8 does feel premium but until 2 or 3 years and you start seeing same functionality in other phones , however If you get Note 8 , that stylus is going to always keep it differentiated and will only look old on note 9 , note 10 and further newer note series phones only . Processing wise S8 is very nice , still is enough fast, has got One UI , but I prefer for Note 8 . Again see if you use the s Pen , it's great to take notes on always on display though !

Got mine N9005 LTE 32GB since the 1st quarter 2014. Still workin great, the original battery still got lots of juice but will last only half a day in heavy usage. Bought an original spare battery few months back which was on offer. Phone as alot mention still going strong and catch up with my everyday usage. May be i hardly use it for gameing lol. One of the best frature is its Infra Red connection which current phone dont have.

My note3 is 4 years older now and it's fab. Just few problems suddenly m getting. 1) battery is 35% and gets switched off suddenly and shows 0% 2) Cached data is 1.5 to 2GB & and getting switched off when trying to clear cached data 3) phone getting slow some times& few apps show not responding and gets restarted automatically

I got my Note 3 in January 2013 from Best Buy list price $799. I had a 2 gave the two to my wife and bought the note 3. It's February 2019 and my note works just as good as the day I got it. Same battery, this is the best phone ever made. Samsung should have stayed with the three layout format and just improved on it, better camera, better pen. If this one ever stops working I will buy another one if possible. Fantastic phone Samsung

I've owned this phone from 2014 and I still find new features that it has over all of the newer phones. It has 4K video recording, you can hook it up to the HDMI connector of your big screen tv or monitor, the screen resolution is excellent to vie and it has dual -band wireless AC built in, you can carry a spare battery with you if you are travelling. mine was originally a Verizon phone but they unlocked it for me when the contract ended and now I use it with my T-Mobile account. The photos and the videos are clear and in focus and it has so many features that I'll never run out of new discoveries on this phone. The note taking with the self-contained stylus is smooth and accurate. The encryption is unbreakable and I can destroy the data remotely if it is ever stolen by just sending a command to it. I'll be keeping it for as long as I am able to. This has more features than many "premium" phones. They still sell for $100-$200 today. Get one and try it out for yourself.

Thats good to hear. This is the best note compared to note edge which i had and it got burnout in screen. So like ive said many times note 3 has outlasted it. Mine still good nearly 4yrs on. Ive tried note 3 with a friends note 5 and it can still keep up with it. Now phones dont have removable batteries which is a shame because thats what everyone liked about note series. Now its all non removable batteries in newer phones.

I have got a used one a gift, exactly three years ago. It's still working in a very good shape. Only had to replace its battery. Few apps (like Facebook, Quora, and Linked is) stopped to work on it because Android's old version. Otherwise it is the best.

My Note is 5 years old this September, it is still going strong but just a bit slower opening up and closing between apps. Went to store the other day to discuss upgrading to Note 9, the young sales assistant also fell over when he asked what my current phone was. He then pulled up the specs on it and said, 'you know this phone was almost five years ahead when it was released.' Amazing phone. The Note 9 better be just as good.

Its on 5.0 still. But note 3 is still sturdy phone. The newer phones wont last as long as note 3. And removable battery is handy . Note 3 is best note for me. Hope this helps.

got mine from a second hand dealer and it works perfectly. The only problem i had was with the battery that gave out after one year since i started using it. After that i bought a bigger battery and know i don't have any more problem with searching for somewhere to charge my phone. I get almost a full day (that's with using the browser, facebook, chating and even the gps). I should say that i don't play on it to often :)

I bought my first Note 3 from an overseas dealer in my neighborhood on eBay in 2013. Love the studying out of it until about two years later it over heated and wouldn't charge. I simply bought a new one from the same person, swapped in my Sim card and memory card and was happily on my way. Then about a year and a half ago I noticed it getting real slow, so I bought a new battery and a bigger memory card and it's now working fine. This is my favorite phone and I am sad to start seeing apps that won't work with it. I am curious to what other android supporting phones out there can *really* compare.

Best Note ever made. The Note 4 has the emmc fail bug. Look it up. Note 3 had everything you could ask from a phone for its time except FM radio. Samsung is celebrating its Note history by not mentioning the Note7. Beautiful but I will say the Note 3 was their best one overall. Too bad I sold mine. It was working great last year after nearly being a 4-years-old model.

Served me faithfully for 5 years, expecting to get another 3-5 years of mileage, after I upgrade to Lollipop. Bloatware was bad, got so annoying that I had to root with towelroot and get superuser. There are very few good protective cases for it. Thin ones do not protect it properly (I broke 3 thin cases) and the strong ones (otterbox and the like) make it feel like a real brick, even though they provide amazing protection. Consequently, NFC will not work for you if you have a thick or metal case, it will also not work for you if you have induction charge case or insert installed. Otherwise this this is a solid reliable phone. Adjusting for age i'd still recommend, 8/10.

Go into your settings>general>battery and take a look at the top battery consuming apps. You can force stop them from within this screen, and delete later if you'd like.

I had same problem with my Note 3 and seemed that some OS process has drained the battery and the only solution was to reset the phone and everything was good as usual. Initially I thought the problem is with my original battery but it still work.

A rogue app could be causing it battery drain. Or you might need new battery. But check in battery usage and it will show the apps using more battery power. Hope this helps.

I remember I got it at November 2013 for about 800$ still working fine and loving It. Had battery problems last year so I just flashed it with note 7 ROM and got a new battery. The note 7 battery management also made a difference. Still l0vin it, especially while changing every single detail with AryaMod :-D Wanted to buy a new phone that has an AMOLED display and a better or equal sunlight reliability with the new hardware and better battery. Don't really care about screen resolution 1080p is more than enough. But sadly the closest phone is the mi8 which heats up. So for now I will just wait for the note 9 ROM to appear and continue on with this master piece

Back when Samsung was the king of Android. No much competition. Samsung design its phones originally. It's the brand you get if you're not buying an iPhone. Now things have changed Chinese smartphone are fierce competition and actually have over saturated the market with its iPhone copy phones. Huawei is the most overrated brand today. Biased reviews and high level of marketing have put them at the top. Samsung high pricing and less value have cost them to lose out on the mid range segment for many years now. Flagship phones from Samsung is helping the company. It won't change the fact that Samsung is the best Android company and the only company that have given apples iPhone a serious competition.

Dont agree Anonymous!. Its not writin in stone when a phone is turned 4 yrs is old. its still working and doing the samething it has since i owned it. It outlasted my other phone note edge. And still good for internet, youtube , whattapp etc etc etc . So until it falls apart i will keep using my nice note 3. And appearence wise it still looks good. Hi, I have Note 3 since it was released (almost 5 years) and this is still working as day 1. The battery (still the one that came with phone) does for sure 6hrs on high usage at street with LTE, and at home using WiFi it lasts the whole day. My brother have the iphone 6, and its a great phone too, but the screen is very small, and the battery is not that easy to replace in comparison with Note 3 (+1 for Note), the pictures taken on iphone are better than the ones in Note 3 (+1 for iphone 6). I have just updated the OS to Android 7.1 using a custom rom from LineageOS which works great, very quick, beautiful and it does not hang at all, it works like a new brand phone, so I wont change it until it is dead. In my opinion, I would go for Samsung once again, however, it depends on the usage you will give to each phone and your OS/applications preference. Regards,

I know it's original because it had NO trouble reading my Sony headphone's NFC chip (If you bought a fake battery on older Samsung Galaxy Notes, you won't get NFC functionality.) The battery does not last 2 hrs for me after 3 years of usage. Tried a new battery but still the same. I think Samsung pushes some updates to lag the phone and make the battery last less. Apple used to do it. Also its not as responsive as the Nexus 4 that I had. I am planning to root it and see how the battery performance is. If its still bad I will have to ditch this and go for Mi or Huawei. Not Samsung again.

If a fingerprint reader is important to you get the Note 4. If you do not mind an older version of android and the lack of biometric unlock get the Note 3. I personally use the Note 3. There is very little difference between either. Battery life should be identical on both. So... It's up to you I suppose.

So im using note3 almost 5 years, and no single issue, main reason i hold this phone for me is many sensors ,barometer thermometer,ir, etc. im using MeteoDroid Station to collect info, second reason is removable battery,third is amoledScreen ,not even burned yet . Overall quality of this phone is perfect, using my phone without case. Absolutely satisfied with phone.But sadly Google in 2019-2020 will stop support for 32bit CPU.

I bought a battery pkg when I got my Note 3, it has 2 new batteries and a wall battery charger (battery wall charger?) Its a perfect setup! 1 in phone, 1 backup and 1 charging on the wall, not in my phone. Rotating keeps them fresh. Was around $40 on eBay

I can still do multiple things like text people, surf the web, and listen to a podcast (through an app that doesn't exist anymore) all at the same time. The RAM is that good. I refuse to upgrade to a new phone because, frankly, I won't get all of the features that this 5 year old phone offers. Over the years, I've downloaded different launchers and themes, so it always feels like a new phone. I like the fact that I can take the battery out because sometimes all a phone needs is a nice little reboot/refresh and removing the battery does just that. About a year ago, the battery started to lose its charge so I bought a new one on Amazon and it's been working fine. This Note doesn't show any signs that it's going to fall apart any time soon. I'll keep using it until it dies on me. Then I don't know what I'm gonna do. Get another Note 3?

Hi Allen. I bought my Samsung Note 3 a few years ago. Has been my main phone for all this time. I have not changed it because it still had enough power to destroy any other phones available in a moderate price range. It still runs smooth and yes, i had to replace the battery because it was not keeping enough charge. You can find other more powerful phones today but i you will have to pay the high price of them. This phone is still quite acceptable for day to day use even on 2018.

Regarding to that issues,it might be caused by one or more application that has ads and running on your phone background. Thats sound bad but still not too bad. The bad one was maybe your phone infected by virus.You can't detect it since it was hidden. Try downloading any anti-virus for smartphone and run full scan. Cheers!

I had note edge and it didnt last long. Note 3 outlasted note edge which is just like note 4. But everybody has diff opinon on it. Note 3 is my best note. Cant seem to part with it.

I would recommend using a Note 4. I had my note 3 from release to 2017 and thought the note 4 wasn't really an upgrade. But the note 4 just literally the only thing worth upgrading to. Note 5 and 7 is where they just DROPPED the ball.

Hi. Have you tried removing your sd card and try your phone without it? Sometimes sd card can cause heating near the camera. If that doesnt work then do a factory reset. Hope this helps. Good luck friend.

I love my note 3! It's going strong. My only issue is pop up adds. I don't use a lot of apps. But i have fb, instagram and pintrest. I've opted out of push adds etc. I can't figure out where they are coming from! Anyone else ever have this issue? Or any ideas how to get rid of them. Even if I'm at a meeting or at work with my phone on silent mode, I open my phone for the calculator or for a timer. The add will pop up and play loud! Thanks!

Hi. First, it could be a rougue app thats causing it to switch off. Second. Your battery may be on its way out . You can try a fatory reset but backup all your data etc before doing it. Also if ypur phone is hot near the top beside your camera then you should try taking out your sd and see how it goes. Sometimes sd cards can cause these problems. You might have to reformatt it or invest in a new one. You can find plenty of info on google search. Hope you get the problem sorted. Hope this helps my friend.

The Galaxy Note 3 is the best and most functional phone Samsung will ever produce. I am still using mine in Jan of 2018 and still have yet to find a phone worth upgrading to. It has NFC, IR and is extremely resilient. I have multiple cases and dropped it many times...no scratches or ever broken the screen (no cracks). It gets wet all the time in rain..I don't even worry about it. It has no screen protector on it either. None of the new phones have replaceable batteries as this one does. The new hype is waterproof, but how happy will people be when their phone only works for 18 months then the battery dies out. I've had my phone for almost 5 years...I'm on my 3rd battery and think this phone has another 2-3 years ahead. If you are going to pay a grand on a phone it better last 5-7 years in my opinion. Waterproofing is overrated...who wants to use their phone in the pool? I have a waterproof camera that is made specifically for that and its only $150. Phones are meant to communicate with not swim with.

Hi Juan. Note 3 supports 4g lte. 3200 mAh battery. Spen. 5.7inch screen. Huawi p9 has 300 mAh battery. Note 3 i use 128gb sd card. Huawi supports 256gb sd card. Screen size on it is 5.2inch. It depends what you need in a phone. Note 3 has stopped at lollipop which is fine for me. But . Huawei is upgradable to 7.0. 3gb ram in note 3 and 32gb internal memory. If you scroll to top of page and press compare it with huawei and look for all what each phone supports. I personally had huawei and i thought the sound was low compared to samsung phones. But thats just my opinon. But like i said compare the two phones and decide which phone you would prefer. Good luck in which ever phone you choose my friend:)

Me too, I have been using note 3 for many years and still find it's a good phone. Big beautiful screen, light weight with stylus. I am good with 5.0 even thought there is no more software upgrade for this phone.

Root it and install twrp recovery, get a good twrp backup, then install one of the phronesis ROMS at xda. I am still on Phronesis Rom v6.5, a lollipop note 5 conversion. It is of course customized and I just looked and was stunned to realize I've been running this installation almost 2 years without any sort of hiccup. Just saw a brand new Phronesis note 7 marshmellow conversion rom. When I have some time I may install that but I sure am loathe to disturb something that is running so smoothly and has everything set up just the way I like it.

You can try goggle it and you will find answers in other forums. Are you on a monthly plan or prepaid? Personally i think prepaid is better. You can ask for unlock code from your service provider. But they will charge you. Thats why i dont go for phones that are locked to network. I like the option of beening able to use any sim card in my note 3. Good luck my friend:)

Sorry. I read it wrong. I get 6hrs also. It depends how often your on your phone. But ive bought extra batteries so i dont have to worry . If playing games, whattsapp, fb etc can drain it if on 24/7. And apps running in background can cause battery to go low . The screen uses more battery. And i keep mine at 50%. You should invest in new battery and keep it as a spare. If on jellybean thlen some apps might not work as apps have been updated to lollipop and MM. but performance wise is still fast on internet etc. Has ithe your note 3 been updated to 5.0? Friends, I agree with all the Note 3 lovers. Bought it in 2014, still the same performance way ahead of its times when it was released in 2013. Just imagine, 3 Gigs of RAM, Fantastic AMOLED display, Slow Mo Camera, ability to record at 4K videos (if available in the model) and the best part is, it has IR blaster apart from the Stylus which I am frequently using to take a screen shot or jot down quick notes. Dropped it several times & believe me not a single scratch on the Phone. Also unique is the back cover, giving it a leathery finish & quite light weight. Also removable battery and external SD card are always advantageous. These days, many phones miss these basic requirements.....

Note 4 is going down in price and will get lower. I recieved patch update early this yr. I never had an update for it since i bought it. Soi put 02 sim in it and they pushed patch security to my note 3. My note 3 was unlocked as i can change sim card in it. So i was glad and surprised i got it. Must have been 02 pushed update to my phone. As for note 3 getting an update security patch i cant see it happening. I check my note 3 for updates in settings about phone. But no updates Anonymous.

Note 3 just needs security patch as google still updates their basic services like play store on this phone. Funny thing is that samsung updated the music player to include their online store. Blueborne patch should not be a problem. Only time worth upgrading is when a non carrier hostage android version arrives as current updating process is crap. Ps. V20 is only a third of it's launch price on used market. Good thing I held back buying back then. Waiting for note 4 to go sub 100usd. It's not too far off now.

Have you tried using Samsung Kies?. Download the latest version of Samsung Kies on your computer and connect your Galaxy Note 3 with a USB cable. Kies should notify you if there is an update available. Then you simply follow the steps to install it. If it comes up no update then the next thing is rooting it, but it can go wrong if not knowing how to do it. You can goole about rooting through odin. It gives step by step instructions. Good luck. I love my Note 3 since I installed Lineage 14.1 (Nougat 7.12) with Pixel launcher and Synergy 19RC Kernel. CPU overclocked to 2.8Ghz and GPU to 487MHz and rock stable and fast! The only thing is I wish it had a better camera.

There are options to buying batteries, I bought from a reputable dealer in Australia who only sells high quality batteries, you pay more but are assured of the best quality and freshly made. I bought my note 3 the first day it was released in Thailand 2013 and apart from replacing the battery it has never faltered. Compare to the new Apple x the note 3 is better and 4 years older , I will keep my note 3 until it stops working.

Sorry for late reply. You would have to ring your network provider for info about volte. Have you tried googling it as there is plenty of info on internet about volte and you will get step by step instuctiions on how to do it. New battery's are not new for this 4yr old model,they have been left on the shelve for that long and never had a full charge since they left the production line,so renders all battery rendered useless,best to buy a power pack,or if your persistant 9n getting an original then go on Amazon,but there going to give you no more power than the one in your phone,go Chinese and get a better spec phone for £150 or less,after all you bought a note 3 which wasn't cheap at the the time (£550) or more at the time and was 4yrs ago,come on man wise up for Christ sake !

I have to give props to my Note 3 for still being a very capable device. It was a little buggy early last year and that's the only time I did a hard reset. I got a new battery and it's back to normal. The screen is still amazing, the plastic border though has a few nudges but not a deal breaker. Have to say this is a great model.

Though it's not an original Samsung battery, I've been using a China brand, MSM HK. I've had it for more than a year now and it still holds a very efficient charge. With medium to heavy usage, at 50% brightness I can get around 4-5 hours screen on-time. If it's available where you live I suggest purchasing one. Just make sure it's an original MSM HK, there are still fakes out there.

I spoke to Samsung and after a long debate they admitted they have discontinued the battery and there is no substitute battery! I am furious! Find apk files of those things on Google. From Google Play and Google Store. Copy them to your mobile phone and install. If they need an upgrade it will be done. hi dear, if you have some issue with your 4G/ signal, it's recommended for you to check at any phone shop centre ( not samsung centre ) unless your device is still covered under warranty which i don't think so. it could probably the receiver is not working properly. if it used to have 4G signal but not anymore, it could be the reason. by resetting your phone, it could solve some minor problem but not the hardware issue. mine got problem with camera, i thought it was the camera software problem. so i did resetted the phone restored but still not working. so i went to phone centre and they said there was the hardware problem. replaced it and now it's working like a charm.

In general the reason for upgrading to a new device is software related. As newer versions of Android OS are released, app developers then update there apps, which tend to not run as efficiently on the older OS. This causes the system to freeze, lag or forced closes. Though with regular maintenance, and the occasional factory reset to clear the system cache will help. I'm now using the excellent Samsung Galaxy S5 running Android 5.02. With an expected update to Marshmallow 6.0 I intend to get at least 3 years of heavy usage. Though I'd like to get longer it will depend on any problems that may arise (or not).

The second one I bought was about 11$ and it actually was original. It works great, lasts the whole day and has working NFC. It's sadly the normal behavior of the AMOLED display. You see, the O stands for Organic, so the display is degrading over time and faster depending of it's usage. The yellowish tint is caused because the blue subpixels are degrading faster than the others, and what happends when you mix red and green? Yup, yellow. My old SIII is still doing fine even if the yellow is becoming more prominent over time. Maybe you could consider to retire this 4-years old device for a more recent device. Justthe fact thatit's stuck on 5.0.1 should motivate you to do so.

I bought this phone back i September of 2013 first day out. This phone has been threw a ton of wear and tear. ive probably dropped it 1000+ times in the past 4 years screen never cracked. took it in the pool twice one time in the ocean and 3 additional times in the toilet. every time the phone came back on after drying. the only issue I've really ever had was the GPS which apparently is common in the note 3. wireless charging option works great for me most times. still have my original charger and still works just as well.

My girlfriend and I respectively have a Note 3 and S5. I love the bigger screen on my Note 3, as well as bigger storage capacity (both take SD cards, but my Note 3 came standard with 32GB, S5 only has 16GB). My Note 3 has 3GB of RAM, the S5 only has 2GB. The S5 however will update to newer software, Android Marshmallow (6.0), whereas my Note 3 is tapped out at Android Lollipop (5.0). There really isn't a noticeable weight difference, the size of the Note 3 in the pocket becomes normal, not seeming too large. If you want a more powerful device, go with the Note 3 imo. If you want something a little bit more up to date with software, the S5 is the way to go.

Every app on the device has a settings section, you will need to have her find the facebook settings icon, which is the 3 horizontal bars near the top right of the app (next to the globe) tap that icon which will bring up large list of items. Scroll all the way down to "App Settings" the tap the gear or letters for app settings. The first selection is the "Sounds in the App", by default this is turned on, to stop the sounds simply tap the colored circle then it will slide to the left and go white. This should fix the issue.

I still prefer typing on the Note 3 with its flat 5.7" than my S7 edge. Just typing this comment with both thumbs is quite a challenge with the S7e. Note 3 was great phone for its time and still pretty great for today. I used to bash BIG PHONES, but after typing on the Note 3 and G5 for awhile the last few months, I now find 5" or less a bit too cramped. My old minimum was 4.5-4.7" but got raised to another half inch more. I don't regret getting the S7 edge and Pixel too much. Both solid. But if I can go back to a month ago, I would get the flat S7 and Pixel XL. The Pixel is smoother to type on than the Samsung. But a flat S7 will help rid of the palm rejection vs accidental presses which actually freezes the key input. Curved displays might look beautiful but flat screen is far more convenient for typing.

Lollipop is fast only for messaging, others is too slow compare kitkat..not suitable for gaming and heavy web use..lagging too much and suddenly restart and eat much battery ..and now i try to revert back to kitkat with no data and apps lost.. I've been using this phone for 40 months daily, so far this phone is my best investment on any phone. Still almost after 3 & quarter years, this phone is serving me brilliantly. It is running on Lollipop for 1 & half year, initially there was some problems with the update, but then Samsung fix them all with OTA updates. And, I'm still getting security or performance updates in every 3 months. I really love my Note 3. I've my fair experience on Sony Xperia Z Ultra, LG Nexus 5, HTC One 8 & last year bought a Xiaomi Redmi Note 3, but in my opinion no other phone is satisfactory in terms of use as Note 3, although Xiaomi's Note 3 camera is far superior than Samsung's Note 3 (obviously because of 3 year generation gap). Apart from that, my oldie is still goldie. :p

If your phone has recently dropped how ever after taking it up you realize the phone is turning on but you have completely no display view. You might want to Dissemble the screen area to see if the display ribbon has loosen. after checking and turning on the device still the same blank screen.. you can try these steps. 1. take the battery out... press and hold the power button for 1 minute do that twice 2. press and hold up volume button and down volume button and home button do that twice. if that don't work then you might have an mother board issue.

Hi. I understand how frustrating it must be for you. But i stil think you should invest in new battery. Yes including me and two other family members are using note 3. So far they havent had battery problems we are all on lollipop. I bought new battery few yrs ago and it lasts a day or more depending how often im on my note 3. It seems Your battery is losing cycle really quickly which means its not going to last too long. Try a new battery in it and see how it goes. I really hope you get it sorted so you can enjoy your note 3. And with running lollipop a long time i dont believe its causing battery draining so fast. Not that fast the way yours is draining. It would have happened since updating. Yes some users had battery draining. But other users find they didnt. And its been out a few years now. So good luck and i hope this helps my friend.

Lollipop was a big mistake for this ageing model, kikat from jellybean was just right and every thing was running smoothly, but ppl get draw in to updates when there's no need, best advice is sell it and put your proceeds towards a phone on marshmallow, beware tho for nugget updates, battery draining on this is very common on all models who upgrade to it and don't have it built in there new phone who have it built in, hope that helps!

Actually i was talking of new launch samsung J7 Pro (not prime). It has same specs as NOte 3. It has 4g/LTE , dual sim and radio. Three slots are good. Cos have changed to fixed batteries bcoz of fake batteries inserted in original box by some notorious dealers. It is to see genuine piece is shipped to the customers. Fake batteries market has come down drastically. Samsung was not getting any biz from sale of batteries.

Ive note edge which i Use it for work. But note 3 i use for personal use. Cant seem to part with my note 3. Think the note series stopped at note 4 and note edge in terms of removable battery and sd card.

These features make the device future-proof, expandable, and upgradeable. The stock ROM can be updated to Android Lollipop 5.0, but if you unlock your boot-loader, you can run anything you'd like on it. For instance, currently, I am running a custom ported version of Google's latest OS: Android Nougat 7.1.1/LineageOS 14.1.1 (formerly CyanogenMod), but there are plenty of custom ROMs' available for this device. A few developers have even ported the stock Note 7 ROM to the Note 3, which brings into question the cost effectiveness of upgrading to a newer device. Other thoughts... Get a *tempered glass* screen protector, and a protective case. You don't need a bulky Otterbox if you like the slimness of the phone, as this phone is pretty durable, a thin case will do the trick, provided you are reasonably careful with it. Issues: After dropping the phone several hundred times, the camera developed a small issue with the autofocus. Sometime, when launching the camera, I can feel the lens vibrating as the camera struggles to autofocus. This is a minor annoyance and can be remedied by briskly, and momentarily shaking the phone around. After that, the camera seems to focus without issue. Overall I'd give this phone a 5/5 stars. It totally exceeded my expectations of a device manufactured in 2013.

This is my second note 3. Last one flew out the car window, probably subconsciously wanted to get rid of it, but my back up note 3 has the same issues. Battery life, it burns up hot within 5 hours it is dead. Started with am update in 2016. The GPS is so inaccurate, always lost and redirecting even when sitting still on a traffic light. I want to blame the phone for some apps not working either, like my MS email app all screwed up. I think WiFi and location service causes it to burn up. 3% left super hot, take out battery and rest, restart and suddenly have 28% again, but that life lasts another 1 max and it's dead. Hope the next note will serve me better. 3 is a loser for me, but I want to blame the forced update

They removed the s pen calibration setting for some reason and the sensitivity of mine is shit. Its either thick line or nothing. The magnet on my case also decalibrates the pen so this is a huge issue. Also every time you press recommended apps in the notifcation panel settings it crashes.

I'm an active ('power') user and have found it very capable and consistent. Tremendous Android functionality, even after approaching four years. Great price now ($200 to $300) if you want it (via Amazon or other sources). Chip set and display (388 ppi?) are solid and at par with best of class out there even now (end of 2016).

No . the Note 3 hardware has been tested for 6 and found to be really poor on performance. Those having 6 by Rooting can actually tell the performance. Android App developers have switched on to new instruments long back.

Owned samsung galaxy note 3 and all I can it is a beautiful phone use it a lot in ladt 3 years and the performance is brilliant. Anyone find fault with the devise is a person who is never happy with anything.

what a bullsh** is that ? I bought Note 3 when it came out with kitkat and since a year ? using lollipop and didn't see any problems comparing to kitkat. Works same smooth like on kitkat ( really didn't see any slow running or so )

I have always loved Samsung honestly its the only device I've ever wanted to use but i honestly hate the note 3, buying it was the worst mistake I've ever made firstly battery drains rapidly, its unusable for my daily operations since it doesn't even last 3 hours with moderate use secondly it has random bootloops where it just keeps restarting, thirdly the home button is woobly this is because the screen is not on right and the screen is coming off and my phone is only 2 weeks old. I would not advise anyone to buy it, its not worth the stress. Maybe try the S5

If your battery is over 2 years old it may need replaced. You can find a good one on Amazon for about 20bucks. Watch out for the cheap knock offs that are about 8 dollars that say samsung.I would read the reviews carefully good luck

Here are my pros and cons on this devicd as i use it for years Pros: -very fast -excellent screen due to super amoled and 1080p -s pen feature is really helpful and productive -not so heavy, light weight -wide screen, great screen to body mass ratio -performance is good for everyday use like facebook,youtub,etc -very fast openning app speed -back button and menu button lights up when pressed -very good for gaming -decent camera, good, but neither ugly or great -has tons of features like gyro, air gesture -very outstanding battery life -really charges fast( if your using 2.0A) -removable battery -they say speaker is a lil bit muddy, but in fact, it is actually decent and loud -i like the placement of the speaker -note 3 style is like a book, which i find it stylish -graphics is gorgeously stunning plus an super amoled display. Mali graphics isnt that bad ") (just my opinion Cons: -easly gets hot when gaming(not so very hot, only like 42 degrees -lollipop os very ugly because of monster battery drain(i reccomend to stay on kitkat( -sometimes freezes, because device is very hot( to solve the problem, just on off the phone) -you cannot adjust screen brightness when battery goes 5% ( this con is optional for some users) -my favorite feature on spen kitkat the scrapbooker feature had been taken away on lollipop -spen is to a little bit hard to remove -small lag on browsers like fast scrolling, switching between tabs, but overall performance in browsers is an "ok" factor -white display is slightly not satisfying due to a slight yellowish thing -3g not 4g lte because i got the exynos version :p Overall this phone is a beast even if it is outdated, it can perform great performance. Its chipset is also old but its performance is just a "wow" factor. People who plan to buy note 3 must read this!!! My phone is already 3years old and its still working fine because i root it. Well, use the l speed app that requires root and i also use setcpu that requires payment and root, now my phone is not heating, lagging, great battery life. But if you feel your phone is slowing down(note 3) just root your phone and download l speed and setcpu, i dont care if it breaks warranty as long as you know what you are doing, but you have to take the risk to unlock the full potential of android!!! Thanks :) ask questions and i will answer it

im running lollipop and have had no problems. ive note edge also. but note 3 i use for personal use. using 128gb sd card. ive no scratches or dents. s viewer protects it if dropped. and having extra batteries means i can swap for full charge battery. so i dont have to worry about battery going dead. still enjoying my note 3:)
