Motorola MILESTONE 2 - User Reviews

  • smart selection, galaxy s3 drop from T-shirt pocket to basin while washing dishes (40cm) cracked the screen badly. milestone2 storage was consider big at that time, was a nice LCD in bright sunny day

  • you dont need to. just install cyanogen mod and be haapy.

  • Is there an alternative way to turn on my motorola a953?

  • buy a new one, this thing is 4 years old...kinda old by digital standards.

  • Please tell me how should i update my cell to latest version of android?

  • This phone is awesome. It does have a problem with the touch screen going crazy, but that's only sometimes during charging. Also, to upgrade to newer versions of android, you have to do upgrade the firmware yourself. There's a whole section for this phone on xda-developers.com. Great phone, has served me well over the past couple of years.

  • how do I use itz internal memory to install music from a computer that is not connected to the internet.?? Again, how do I upgrade to Jelly-bean. or even IceCream Sandwich.??

  • Same here Sann :-(

  • My MM2 have something wierd! I think Ghöst using my phone c0s touch screen is scrolling and selection every Apps , i couldn't stop it anymore though i had resetting and rebooting thousand times. Does anyone know this issue?

  • There is CM ports for the MS2 for CM7/9/10/10.1 on the XDA forums, with tutorials on how to do so. CM7 isn't really something you want/can do easily now, rest works quite nice, the current 10.1 is really nice and stable.

  • its an awesome phone. Very usable. have had it for a few months and i am super happy. i love typing on it

  • how did you go about updating it to JB using cryogen mod

  • I upgraded mine to Jellybean using the cryogen mod and it runs smoothly. It's a completely different phone; it works really well. The phone is also pretty indestructible; I dropped mine down three flights of concrete steps and it came away with a tiny scratch at the top of the screen. I'm always dropping my phone, so I needed something sturdy which could take a few knocks. This phone has taken more than a few and what damage it has is minimal. It also has one of the best keyboards on any phone on the market.

  • Can you help with a few tips how to upgrade

  • Can this phone video call face to face?

  • My Motorola Milestone 2 with cyanogenmod "Jelly Bean 4.1.2" is the best, very fast and stable!

  • need to upgrade your os

  • I have a Milestone 2, I've compared it with my iPhone 4s and Xperia Play that has my wife. All three have a capacity of 512 mb, have 32 bit CPU, the three processors are "fast". Why the Milestone 2 is so slow? and why it is saturated much of something I don't know?, I installed GO TaskManager EX app and all the time showing 90% memory used, and no processes running. Sometimes there are some processes, GO Backup, NQ Mobile Security, 3G Watch dog and GO Weather EX. I kill every half hour. I think they forgot to install the snapdragon processor and put one that runs on coal, or something!.

  • Yess, I installed custom ROM Cyanogen 10 Android 4.1.2 on this phone. It's very awesome and nice. You can use many themes too, it's cool

  • Really! What a surprise!! Can you help with a few tips how to upgrade to ICS?

  • Yes, but only by custom roms...Currently, I'm using Android 4.1.1 (Cyanogenmod 10)...With a single search you'll find.

  • Can this oldie be upgraded to ics? Jb?

  • Yes it has that blinking light! And the keyboard rocks.

  • Does this Phone have a notification led? i saw a video with a green light blinking in the top right corner when the screen was locked does it have one?

  • I have been using this Milestone 2, Since 1 year and its pretty awesome.. I have upgraded the phone to v2.3.4 before 6 months & it was working very well & the built quality was great. Can anyone guide me how to upgrade this phone to Ice-Cream Sandwich?

  • motoblur? lmao...yup, get the CM10 for it, i hear its good!

  • I have used this phone for a few months right now and got it for real cheap since in africa you dont get much Motorola. its almost non existant But i must say this phone has worked perfectly only it falling has been my problem.

  • This is by far the worst phone I've ever used. The phone itself lags all the time and everything is so badly coded, even the lockscreen glitches. The biggest annoyance is that when launching an app, it lags and then freezes, the phone glitches all over and often just does a reset all by itself. You can't do anything substantial on this phone. The default music app won't repeat your songs in "repeat one" mode. A physical keyboard should be superior to digital typing, but no, even typing on it's physical keyboard feels laggy. There are no system/software updates whatsoever. Motorola completely abandons previous users. You can't take Motorola seriously anymore. I'm never buying a Motorola again.

  • the 'double pressing' you describe is a software bug in the stock Gingerbread firmware. I can confirm flashing up to ICS or Jellybean *will* resolve this issue.

  • I have owned this phone for 3 years. Recently upgrade it to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Don't let the horror stories about the locked bootloader fool you - There are currently NO other Android phones on the market with a hardware keyboard, or as good build quality. ICS gives new life to this phone now that Motorola no longer support it.

  • can u teach me hw to flash it!

  • can u teach me hw to flash it!

  • I have this in Hong Kong, and I have to say.... the stock rom is totally rubbish! It lags and everything runs the opposite of smoothly. This is why I flashed a custom rom on it very early. Now I am using a CM10 rom and the phone is silky smooth, everything is slappy. So summary: Good hardware, must flash custom rom

  • I would not advise anyone to buy this phone...Immediately after buying, the physical keyboard started double pressing letter and stuff like that..i researched it and realised a lot of persons had the problem..i downloaded and app to fix it but it did not work completely. After six months the right side of the touch screen went dead. I researched it and realised that a lot of persons had the problem also...

  • hi go settings and touch the ABOUT PHONE and touch system updates... if update available then u can download it..but u need to wifi for download this file

  • the rubber on the hardware keyboard is popping out on individual keys, any ideas on how to mend it?

  • Xperia Pro pwns this.

  • to upgrade to android 2.3, download MOTOROLA SOFTWARE UPDATER and follow the instructions... worked fine for me, it takes maybe 20 min, and best of all, does NOT delete any of your existing data (i removed my memory card before the update)

  • can u share me hw to upgrade milestone 2 to 2.3!

  • amazon.com has the best price

  • One of the greatest phone in earth

  • i went to mobile phone upgrading centre.....

  • this phone is realy super.but one thing its 2 year old device... this really fast phone, battery is superb, sound qulity standard (not high) camera is better (picture zoom is brilliant) HD video is good. not like present phones. true it has good memory .but its 6.17 gb... but it has no HDMI port ,but this phone pinch zoom is very hard (coz it using Motorola interface)not a android interface .but its android phone.also it has great display .its second for samsung galaxy tab 10.1 i had this phone.everyone like this. but i need move from this .that was really sad. milestone2 is very intelligens phone ever....

  • where to get it/

  • I wonder how the battery specifications came about - standby up to 400h (2G/3G) and 7:40 (2G)/4:50h(3G) talktime? My copy can't even do 24h of combined use (50% standby, 30% sms, 10% surfing, 10% games). The RAZR MAXX has a standby time of up to 380h, and we know that's probably true. Hope GSMA makes their best effort to provide accurate data on the site, despite the disclaimer. Otherwise it might be better to omit the potentially misleading data.

  • I have the milestone 2 Its a very clever bit of kit when it comes to navagation and well thats all. Maybe not even that. I have had times where someone has been trying to call me and the touch screen locked up. I could not awnser it. It will lock up on average 3-4 times a day and the constant crashing and bugs ae getting worse. It doesnt do this anymore but it used to delete every text message it recieved before i could read it! Altogether it could be a great phone but its software I feel lets it down so much.

  • i love my milestone 2 but i dont know how to upgrade it to 2.3 please can anybody tell me how to upgrade to 2.3

  • I'm searching for a new smartphone - most I've found have about 300 - 500mb onboard memory, so a few apps soon fill them up. Has this really got 8Gb that I can use for storing apps? Also, can it play flash videos (eg. the sort you find on news websites)? Thanks in advance.

  • That's because it's the phones video format. Old Nokias also saved their stuff in that format.

  • I Love my Milestone2. work great. i just upgrade it 2.3. it was awesom. landscaping effect like a i phone. and battery life also good. i love my milestone2

  • There is Problem. I recorded Some Clip From my Milestone2. And i play it on my laptop. it showing FILE TYPE is 3Gp. What Gone On There?

  • One of the worst phones ever. I had to go to Motorola twice, so they can correct the double-tapping issue with the phisical keyboard. Bluetooth technology is not supported by same-brand Motorola Stereo Headset. It hangs 24x7. Camera is worst than the old Motorola V300 (do you remember that one?). Apps are NOT automatically ended once the screen times out. I will never buy a Motorola phone again.

  • the phone are great, but there's some bug like delay of bouncing type. but it can resolved with change the value of delay time. I use it and i love it so responsive and solid :D

  • It is upgradeable to 2.3.5. Just download the Motorola update tool. The phone is very fast on gingerbread and the battery is pretty good. Motorola had problems with screens in the first Milestone phone, this is Milestone 2 and the screen works great. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a relatively cheap android 2.3 phone!

  • I am having problems with the physical keyboard double pressing...i downloaded the Milestone 2 Debounce app from XDA and installed it but i need to know what values to use for it to work correctly... presently when i use the default values, some letters do no show up when i press the keyboard...i have to press 2 to 3 times for letters to show up...How come Motorola never fixed this keyboard issue??????

  • hey...i recently upgraded to 2.3.5 will get the link and post it for you..

  • Do not get this phone! There are far too many bugs with it and it seems to get worse with usage.Even though it has a one gig processor it is slower than phones with a smaller processor. The worse thing about it is that it is still running on 2.2 as motorola can't be bothered with android updates! Such a shame as it is well built and has a nice and easy to use physical keyboard and is let's down by its software.

  • How to upgrade to Android 2.3?

  • Before you buy this phone, have a look at Seems to be failure on touch response and service/replacement is a major problem with Motorola. I bought this phone from the US with Global warranty and Motorola India refused to service this product. Finally, the phone is unusable.

  • I love my Milestone 2! It works all the time every time, NEVER gives me a problem. I love the car dock, works briliiantly, navigation, music, charging all at once..Perfect. The desk top dock is also handy, turns the phone into an alarm clock & slide show+ weather station+ charging..The only thing I could complain about is battery life..The phone only just lasts the day for me, although I have now bought a bigger battery for it and that problem is fixed. Top Marks for this phone.

  • All the owners of this phone will regret one day. Such a worst Android series phone. Horrible touch screen problem. I bought this phone thro Amazon with International Warranty and Motorola India do not service the phone and the reason they say it is not yet launched in India. I called up Motorola USA, they say the particular handset manufactured in HongKong and inform me to send this phone to Hongkong for servicing. Ultimately, poor quality and irritating customer service.

  • it is a normal LiOn battery. there is nothing strange about it! the phone is great, but battery life could be a little better.

  • what do you mean cancer guaranteed ??

  • more like Lithium-Polymer, google it;)

  • Lithium-Polonium battery? Only cancer guaranteed phone in whole world.

  • Excelent phone !

  • Very very very good!!! this cel is incredible!!

  • Try sending to their service centre. I have been using this phone for about a year and it never fell on me. I have about 30 Apps loaded although only about 10 plus are used frequently.

  • How long to do you use it to play games and surf web? The display is the main source of battery drain so if you interact with your phone the whole time it will probably last 5 hours. If you want to play and interact with the device all the time get a tablet e.g iPad 2

  • The good: Great design and construction, nice camera, excellent display and QWERTY keypad. Sound in earphones and when listening to music - MP3 player is very loud, punchy and clear (provided you use some good quality headset - the included headset is just wrong). The bad: Motoblur is very sluggish so you just need to remove all the unnecessary crapware - weather, news, social networking apps, etc. This way the device will be much faster and it will also boost the battery life

  • Do a phone factory reset. Use it without to see whether its the phone problem or the app causing the problem. I ever sent my phone back for service for the double key pressed problem. The phone was repaired and every thing is well.

  • Hi! Opera Mobile is the only Android browser that is Hardware Accelerated. Can anybody test if the Acceleration works in Milestone2? Please compare if its smoother than the stock browser. thanks

  • yeah it does...the keyboard is awful...double lettering, freezing for no aparent reason etc. etc... worst phone ever...

  • This phone is most definitly the biggest piece of crap I ever owned... I have a few apps installed but not much, the phone freezes 3 - 4 times a day so I have to restart it - which by the way takes forever. Also it stops working in the middle of a call - after 45 seconds or so or the dialer pops up in the middle of a call and starts dialing... everybody tried to convince me not to buy a Motorola but I stil did...trying to prove them wrong...boy was I stupid... I'm so frustrated by this phone and to top it of it was really expensive too...400 when it came out. I wouldn't recomend this phone to anyone and I'm most definitly never ever buying this Motocrap again. Sorry for this fallout...the phone just froze again and got me all angry and agressive ;)

  • The touch screen have a dead zone and smal delays... very uncomfotable, the camera is good, but the motorola system is very bad and the batery does not last. I have my Milestone 2 about 6 months, and i want to buy a S. Galaxy S II, because this cellphone don't made my expectations.

  • My Motorola Mileston Android 2.2 cannot get signal in the middle of conversation. Why?

  • Got this mobile 2 months back(UK version). There are quiet few problems which I am facing. I have the latest update of the firmware. Issues - Mobile hangs frequently while multitasking. I presumed, these smart phones are for multitasking, but not exactly TRUE. While listening to music on travel and I try to take few snaps from the camera, it hangs suddenly. Same, if viewing some office documents and trying to switch to the music player to change songs or so, it hangs. Even while the phone is not functioning, I try to re-boot using the power button(on/off), that doesn't work. Its disappointingly slow for a 1GHz processor, I compared with other smart phones, with smaller processors, which seem to work brilliantly.. Very sluggish. For more simple issue, which is even available on a regular mobile phones, such as saving a "TEXT MESSAGE" as draft is not available in this so called Smart phone. I also suggest guys from gsmarena to check for how good it is as utility rather than backing the android market tools. Hope my comments make sense. Regards,

  • How much is this fone in Botswana???

  • No update for the software system which is not good

  • get your phone check, my last 1.5 day with a few phone calls and some web surfing.

  • Yes. But i sent it back to Motorola service and the problem is fixed. Woah the joy of QWENTY keyboard.... Touch screen is so annoying.

  • May I know the price of this phone in Hong Kong?

  • Anyone know of a protective case with a hard plastic screen protector/shield similar to this iphone one but obviously for milestone 2 and lets you slide out the keyboard and reach all ports as usual.

  • Can I upgrade the os to android 3.2

  • very good phone. but the ram and no front camera.

  • Moto: TFT capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors 480 x 854 pixels, 3.7 inches (~265 ppi pixel density) Desire Z: S-LCD capacitive touchscreen, 16M colors 480 x 800 pixels, 3.7 inches (~252 ppi pixel density) Moto: 8 GB system storage; 512MB RAM Desire Z: 1.5 GB system storage; 512 MB RAM Moto: 1 GHz Cortex-A8 processor(not even overclocked), PowerVR SGX530 GPU, TI OMAP3630 chipset Desire Z: 800 MHz Scorpion processor, Adreno 205 GPU, Qualcomm MSM 7230 chipset U fail along with your Desire Z who's QWUERTY is with poor build quality and every time you open it it's like ready to fall.

  • is there a keyring attacher on this phone?

  • desire z has faster processor. ..faster browsing

  • I have problems with my keyboard, they are easily damaged.

  • What i dont understand is you downloaded equalizer but it has equalisers?I too want a real button smartfone,,i have e75 atm but had e90 etc but too slow. I am stuck on samsung fones because of concert hall setting,,i have tried numerous headfones and electrnoic devices to recreat this effect..I have heard milestone 2 has 3d settings and would love to try these..The concert hall setting gives a nightclub sound really boxy and glassy treble..The samsung range do not have real buttons so want milestone 2. The android market does have equalisers which i have tried on desire z but the reverb effect never works on all i have tried, even tho equaliser app has smallroom/large room settings they did not work on desire z.. So milestone 2 seems last choice ,,i am using sgs2 but its too big.

  • Does the keyboard really have issues?.... Doube entry on single press ??? And 'Milestone 2' or 'Droid Pro xt610' ?? Thanks :D

  • Thank you for very good and helpfull review

  • Motorola Milestone 2 costs around 250 euro. See gsmarena. If I am wrong then correct me. Because I am thinking of buying it. Otherwise, I will go for samsung galaxy sl.

  • The truth about Milestone 2... Ok guys. I have spend months reading reviews about the top qwerty smartphones... Its my hobby :o) Anyway, coming from nokia communicators and e75, I needed a decent qwerty performer. The contenders: Desire Z, Milestone 2, Nokia e7, Xperia Pro. After months of thinking I decided to purchase the Milestone 2, and I have to say it is simply amazing. - The SCREEN is superb, bright, crisp and good deep colours. (And yes, I have seen the Desire Z screen which is also very good) still the screen on the Milestone 2 is far from being a negative point. - The KEYBOARD is outstanding, it has the RIGHT feeling. The keys are responsive, the travel between keys is perfect but without being too close. The rubber feeling is very good and right out of the box you can get writing emails with no problems. The backlit is even. (and I have thorough experience with nokia communicators qwerty - e90-9300-e75) - The BUILD QUALITY is incredible. You are holding quality here. The unit is rock solid, it has metal and rubber, so it doesnt slip away. The keyboard mechanism is VERY solid, no flimsy parts, no wobble (see Desire Z mechanism and you will never buy a phone that has a similar mechanism). The phone does NOT feel that heavy, on the other hand, I wouldnt tollerate the 10extra grams plus chunkier size of the desire z. The Milestone 2 is COMPACT and well thought. - The SYSTEM is very fast, everything opens at blazing speed. The browser is great, and Flash DOES REALLY work. - The Audio is superb. The audio from headphones is quite good PROVIDED you download an mp3 player app with an EQUALIZER. - Android is simply amazing, dont understand WHY BOTHERING with Iphone. Android is the future. - The phone memory is very large, 8gb for apps, 8gb for your files. Plenty of space for all games and apps you can think off. Games run perfect. - The battery life is quite good, especially after reading many reviews that punish the phone because of battery (the desire z battery doesnt last that much longer anyway)... I have turned max savings and it lasted 7 hours of internet browsing, some in wifi and some in 3g. For me 7 hours is quite ok. I am not using any motoblur widgets. Now, why I didn't chose other phone? - Desire z: with that weight, chunky size and the Z Hinge (wobble screen swinging, great chances of breaking and less onboard memory simply forget it. - Nokia E7: I dont know what these guys are thinking about. Were they seduced by Apple's strategy of simply "pay more for less"? - not possible to substitute the battery? - no micro sd? Are we joking here? Symbian and a hefty price Tag? hmmm. Maybe some guys at apple were hired and nokia and had this great idea! - Xperia Pro: looks like a solid contender but first of all it has a low RAM, and ridiculous internal memory an NO you cannot install ALL your applications rooted to the sd card. Apart from that the unit is lighter and I like that but its made of plastic and the design looks like something from the 80's One of my main reasons for not chosing Sony Ericsson Xperia pro: The company is deliberately playing market games with its customers blaming it on the horrible events that took place in Japan recently. Why? Well, first they said the Xperia Pro will be released in July, then no news, delays, then on PREORDER in the UK on late september, meaning October. Which in reality means November. Why I say they are playing games? Because I believe they could have released it in July BUT they are waiting to see the next move from Samsung EPIC which is one of the best hardware coming out soon. So rather than realeasing their phone now while people in Europe is on holidays, then they blame it on the Japan events to further delay and wait for Samsung's move to release the Epic 4g. In this way they can "steal" some market share from Samsung by not letting it go alone. What they let go are the possible customers like me who went for other options and are equally good and much more cheaper. My Milestone 2 cost 300euro, the Xperia pro will cost 450euro, No clue about Epic4G, Desire Z is 330euro. I hope you like my review, it is from a real user with real problems. It is my own opinion and my experience. If you would like to share ideas and comments just contact me at francescassini[at]tiscali[dot]it Thanks for reading my review.

  • Hi, Every android phone has lags. It all depends how much applications are running in background. For that you can install Advanced Task Killer Pro which can take care of your background applications. I have just bought this phone and have not rooted it like others do. Installed all necessary apps and games, widget for stopping sync which saves a lot of battery. Other than that the phone is very nice and hopefully gingerbread update would come with some bug fixes such as in pocket detection proximity sensor and keyboard fix wherein sometimes on pressing a key it enters twice.

  • Do any one have any problem with motorola milestone 2.....i want to buy this phone....but some websites say that it hangs....ther r lags.....also there is a problem in music player....plz someone help me!!!

  • Yes

  • can i use this vertically without pulling out the qwerty board?thanks :)

  • How longs a piece of string?? Before you consider in buying a phone try it out in a shop. Read reviews and then ask yourself the question is the phone for you! I have this phone and I think its great, and yes it is for me, but it may not be for you! I hope that helps...

  • The phone does not come with a(hard Copy) user manual Why?

  • battery life is very poor ....mine stays for hardly a day.. if i use it constantly the battery will be over before u know it ! other than that .. it is a v good phone. great qwerty hard keyboard..super cool touch but does hang a few times...had it for more than 2 months it hung thrice !! but i stil luv this phone .. hope it gets the 2.3 gingerbread update ! ..n fixes everything !!

  • The best phone I've ever had. I love it.

  • Hello, very clear that it is worth buying this phone. He was good at the first version, now with 1 GB of processor it flies. Until it does scan. You will not regret it. I hope this helps.

  • Milestone 2 it's fantastic in almost everything. It' whort it. The bad things : Poor Batery life, needs to be charge twice a day. It get warm sometimes. No FM RADIO ... The camera could be better but it's still a good camera for a mobil phone. The rest of the things are superb. Browsing web it's fantastic on mm2.

  • It's just the best phone I ever had! Fantastic!

  • Can anyone tell me is this phone worth buying?

  • Hey Guys Can Anyone tell me of Motorola mobiles are reliable or not....?? M heading up to By Moto M2...?? Can anybody advise me about its User Interface and Battery ??? I ll be very Gratefull....

  • Hi friends can you tell me way for lock incoming call from a silected names numbers from address book for my milestone 2

  • the most useless phone I have ever used. Totally rubbish!! I will never buy a Motorola phone again. Why? Because the keyboard double clicks, it doesnt get all phone calls even in full reception, texts come in hours late in full reception, camera is terrible in non natural light, battery doesnt even last day day running in 2G. And Im stuck with this piece of crap for another 17 months!

  • Hi guys. how do we turn off the focus n shutter camera and video cam sounds? Thanks.

  • the different of motorola milestone 1 and 2 its the motoblur and the keyboard

  • On the surface, they seem completely identical (I have both phones since I just moved from the states to Republic of Georgia). Underneath, the only differences I see are the keyboard (milestone has a euro symbol which actually outputs a "$", not sure why) and the available frequencies. MY droid2 was locked to verizon's network in the US while my milestone2 can take a sim card and will reportedly work almost anywhere.

  • Best Buy's release date for the Motorola DROID 3 is set for July 13?

  • the network

  • maybe because Droidx is for CDMA and milestone 2 is for GSM

  • what is the different between Milestone 2 and Droid 2?

  • Can you put a (big) clock widget on top of the homescreen. Or are you stuck with the facebook and message(?) widgets on top, meaning you can't change it like on HTC phone's.

  • There's a variety of ways to turn off data, either through Android settings or widgets (like the XLent 3g watchdog or Juicedefender) Disabling 3G altogether is not the best way IMO.

  • Yes. You can choose 2g only 3g only or both

  • 3G, yes you can turn off 3G and use 2G only to save battery. Turn on 3G only when is needed. Data you can also turn off. There is a set up in stting that you can turn off data completely. then you will not receive any mail. You can turn data back on any time you want. So do not worry just go out and try out.

  • Hi guys, Im thinkng aboutgetting this phone but am wondering if u can completely disable 3g to save data. This is becoz I will be on a plan with very limited data and do not want to go over the data limit

  • defy is great but if u want qwerty slider just go for m2 and defy have very difrent rom

  • defy or ms2? i am in love with both of them but can anyone tell me which and why the one is better over the other?

  • Motorola DROID 2 Global getting Gingerbread update soon

  • milestone 2 is really excellent.if every one wants to buy that do not thing!go straight to a mobile shop and buy.you would be excited

  • milestone2 or cliq2

  • not secondary cam??? what??? suck!

  • who is better????...milestone 2 or the htc desire s ?

  • Excellent Android phone. Enough said..

  • The DROID3 is looking more and more like the first real next-gen player of 2011 for Verizon, but if it ends up running Froyo at release, there better be a firm paddle to the rear of the person responsible for making that decision. Were almost positive this phone will run on TIs new OMAP 4430 dual-core processor, sport a 4″ qHD screen, front-facing camera, 8MP rear camera, 5-row keyboard, and HDMI out. So with all of this new technology tossed in, why go with last years OS? The original DROIDX just received GB lets do the right thing here and release it with this phone as well. OK, Big Red?

  • which one is better milestone 2 or xperia arc.. i do have the arc but i am making a switch so which would be goog overall..

  • still best qwerty slider in the world

  • which one is better between the samsung galaxy ace or milestone 2? please answer my question ..

  • which one is better between the samsung galaxy ace or milestone 2? please reply my question.. :)

  • It's NOT true! Milestone 2 is NOT Droid 2 ! Be careful. Visit xda developers milestone 2 area, if you have any question!

  • You can put your phone in your pocket with the screen facing outwards, away from your tights/chest. The screen is very sensitive, and it can sense the skin from your tight/chest through thin fabrics

  • thnks cloud

  • here is the link to update Milestone2 (droid 2) to 2.3.3 gingerbread

  • Q : Can i store my music in the internal memory? A : NO

  • plz compare with apple 3gs ,,,i this MILESTONE 2 is great, also price and 3.7" apple 3.5" etc etc ,,,,plz compare it,,,,great cell moto ,,,

  • To you and 100 Moto, Just wanna let you guys know that you're barking at the wrong tree. Smileyface(: and maniflupas were talking about Desire S (not Desire Z) and Milestone 2. Desire S doesn't have a QWERTY keyboard, so I don't think it's fair to compare these phones based on that. ------------ To Smileyface(:, I almost bought Milestone 2 because I'm loving it's hardware. But then, as I watch videos of this phone on the internet, I didn't become quite confident about Motoblur UI's performance. So I ditched this phone for HTC Desire. And I'm loving the smoothness of the Sense UI. I suggest you weigh the importance of your preferences in choosing which smartphone to buy :) Cheers!

  • yeah i get the same problem. usually if the phone has been in the pocket and it rings and when you take it out to answer the phone, the screen slider fails to unlock. I've resorted to phoning the person back....not exactly the best thing i suppose.....

  • hi mona, its near around 24k. u can compare this phone with others on this link.

  • Does anyone else face frequent problem when you slide your finger across the screen to unlock phone (to pick up call), it fails to unlock... resulting in missed calls? Can be quite frustrating at times... What should I do? Install Easy Answer or goes back to MOtorola service center? Thank you...

  • Hi. in term of physical dimension , is there any difference between milestone 2 and DroId 2 ?

  • I recommend this phone, nice design and good qwerty keyboard (better than milestone1), good quality.

  • I just updated my milestone 2 and i'm in the UK. My phone now shows firmware version 2.2.2 not 2.2.24???....Strange!

  • Motorola is pushing a software up date out for the Milestone 2 in Europe that brings the software up to version 2.4.24.

  • Hi all, nice to see its still active at this site. I bought MS 2 last month and would like to give a bit comment here. Pro: The keypad is really really good. I enjoy typing with no error at all compare with on screen keypad. The build quality is fantastic. Holding in hand makes me feel great. The internet is awesome, display exactly the real screen as in PC. Cons The battery is sucks when using 3G networks. It will exhausted within 6 hours. But last longer with WIFI.

  • you wrong !!! M 2 is the best slide qwerty keyboard on the planet .,

  • You can't install Swype in the Desire S right? By the way can someone give me a few Android phones that have Swype installed?

  • Can one see how the hinge of Desire Z is designed compared to that of Milestone 2. Do you really think if one drops both a Desire Z and a Milestone 2 with keypad open, which phone would break first. Also, does Desire Z does not offer 8GB internal memory like Milestone 2.

  • Desire Z better?. in terms of breaking the hinge Can one see how the hinge of Desire Z is designed compared to that of Milestone 2?. Do you really think if one drops both a Desire Z and a Milestone 2 with keypad open, which phone would break first?. Also, does Desire Z offer 8GB internal memory?.

  • Desire Z better? in terms of breaking the hinge? Can one see how the hinge of Desire Z is designed compared to that of Milestone 2? Do you really think if one drops both a Desire Z and a Milestone 2 with keypad open, which phone would break first? Also, does Desire Z offer 8GB internal memory?

  • Desire S, no doubt about that. The design and construction is way better

  • Help please! I don't know whether I should pick Desire S or Milestone 2! Give opinions please! Thanks.

  • Just be aware that it doesn't have micro USE it's got a proprietary connector so you have to use Motorola's USB cable. :(

  • I have 133 MB in my internal memeory ,, any chance of cahning this to the 8 GB memory???

  • I'm using both Defy and MS2. To be honest, other than the qwerty keypad and much larger internal memory, I prefer my Defy over MS2. Though if I were you, I would get a Defy "in addition" to MS2, as I'm pretty sure you would appreciate "both" phones. I don't usually buy the same phone twice, though I just got another Defy for my better half last weekend.

  • hey guys please help me that i change my defy with milestone 2 or no ??!! is this milestone is much beter than defy or no ?! thx

  • I had a chance to compare my Milstone 2 to the HTC Desire Z yesterday. The Moto feels much more sturdy, the screen is brighter, much easier to see when the sun is out for example. Seemed to me that the camera in the Moto makes better pictures and videos. The sliding keyboard mechanism definitely feels much better than the Z mechanism in the HTC. The only downside with the Motorola is that it has to be charged every day. It's an awesome phone otherwise, I love it.

  • try moboplayer. It plays most formats

  • hi. i have a question....my milestone 2 cant play divx/xvid or mkv videos...but the device supports this format..any ideas??recommend a videoplayer alternative for me... thanks..

  • up coming motorola jet chicklet-style qwerty keyboard quad-core 12 mp with new technology camera sensor

  • never thought that motorola would come out with such a great phone i love it

  • never thought that motorola would come out with such a great phone i love it

  • thisis realy best qwerty slider in the world with bestfeatures and spec hope motorola offer milestone 3 for next quarter

  • Thanks! I just got the M2, will try it out

  • Ok, so i just downloaded Playerpro trial, and it seems to be really working. Although I'm not happy at the fact that I need to purchase a player for it to work properly, but thanks for pointing me in the right direction. Love the sound quality on this player!

  • Thanks, but i should really elaborate on the problem itself. Ok, so i figured out that task killer was stopping the player to begin with. Now, with the music player I have tried multiple ones, and the thing that really pisses me off is that with each player I will have the same issue, but its not always with the same songs. And motorola customer service are just f'd and wanna say that my music is corrupted, but with so many players and different songs, I fins that hard to believe. I like the handset, but i wish i had wentwith the Htc desire s now. :(

  • i love this phone im so happy cuase next 2week i buy milestone 2

  • i love this phone im so happy cuase next 2week i buy milestone 2

  • Can you elaborate why you want to install music in the internal memory? The 8GB is for apps only, though the phone should come with an 8GB external memory card, and getting a 16GB card alone costs around US$25 nowadays. (and some shop may offer trade-in of the 8GB card) Nowadays most people cry for more internal memory to store apps, and Moto Milestone 2 offers the most in its class/price range. Only about 30% of the apps support App2SD. Hence while one can keep on expanding the external memory, the internal memory is fixed and the only way to upgrade is...buy a new phone!

  • Just download any other music player with more audio buffer to solve this issue, i recomend you proamp, or proplayer, they are great and have lot of options

  • which one is beter ?

  • it`s nice .

  • Currently i'm using Nokia N78 but i need a new one! But can't decide which one should I buy??? That is a big question???!!!??? There are lots of phone I like such as Nokia N900, Nokia E7, HTC Desire Z, Motorola Milestone 2 etc. Mainly I want Full Touch + QWERT keyboard! But the problems are with Nokia N900 is Its Maemo OS, with Nokia E7 is there is no External Memory Card Slot, With HTC Desire Z is its tooo Expensive! Lols! But Motorola Milestone 2 has all I want! So I want to know about the Music quality, about the Battery Life, about the internal 8GB storage ( is it only for apps, cant use it for anything else like storing Music, Videos, Images etc). Thats all. Thanks for reading patiently. :)

  • correction, price drop is indeed US$25 but the cost is around US$498, unlock without contract

  • Yes, I just got my Milestone 2 about 2 weeks ago. Price also dropped about US$25, now costing around US$435, no contract and unlock, in HK.

  • I was hoping to buy this for my first smartphone.. But Motorola really needs to do something about their marketing. This phone have not yet arrived here in the Philippines until now, and I can't wait any longer. I bought the HTC Desire instead - another superb phone. P.S.: Ok. I know someone will eventually mention and compare the internal memories of both phones.. So let get ahead of you. Yes HTC Desire indeed has a poor internal memory, but with the FroYo update.. It wasn't a bother anymore :) well, at least for me.

  • I have another question. Is there anyway to enable vibration for messages?

  • Hey all I bought this handset a few days ago n I just wanted to know if anyone was experiencing the same thing as me? Everytime I listen to music theres this constant stutter like the track is skipping, and sometimes the music player stops all together is anyone else having this same issue? Apart from that the handset is awesome.

  • @ 100moto hi 100moto do u use milestone 2 i want buy this phone now i have defy i love my phone but i want buy this one too .

  • motorola milestone 2, htc desire or samsung galaxy s super clear lcd ????????

  • the battery life can't really last long. u need to keep charging constantly. i'll say the phone will almost be perfect if they can improve on the battery

  • Motorola is like HTC when it comes to camera...it isn't great. If you're after photo quality on Android phone...you may want to check Samsung or Sony Ericsson, and perhaps LG.

  • hi guys i want buy this phone / please help me howe about battery life and camera quality in milestone 2 ??

  • no u can't..

  • magnific phone! i like it!

  • Can i store my music in the internal memory?

  • Everyone I just noticed that the M2 does have slow motion and fast motion video recording! Another cool feature!

  • Price for Motorola Milestone 2 dropped to USD 474.99. Is it worth the buy from Expansys-usa? Please comment.

  • Hi , Can anyone comfirm if the casing used by Milestone2 is the same as Droid2 ?

  • this fone is a waste of time..purchased and stolen on the same day..i need to do black fowl prayers..plus last year my dog died...he commited suicide because i never give him food...and the other year dis 1 beggar stole my shoes and i found him under unit 3 bridge and took the shoes back..and i also robbed him.this phone is badluck...also someone stole my car and smashed it and the next day he gave it back to me.

  • The final words of GSMA review : . . . . . ., but the M2 is noregrets phone. With solid build and exellent software, it will do everything you want it to and do it better than most.

  • I'm very happy with my 10 extra battery (which comes with an charger) in my pocket. Just the same I used to do with my old N95. A friend of mine has an iPhone 4 (which is great too)and has the same problem. Unfotunately to him it's impossible to switch the battery...

  • ya its very good handset . i have never seen thoe kind of handset / one of the baet is motorola

  • Very good smartphone, it´s motorola´s path to a smartphone be a PC in your pocket!

  • there is the HTC Desire Z, similar specs and very good as well

  • MILESTONE 2 ME722 MILESTONE 2 ME722 gives you more of what you want without compromises: 1 GHz of blazing-fast performance, 8 GB of built-in memory for more apps, an enhanced slide-out keyboard for easier messaging, and improved 720p HD multimedia capabilities and sharing with DLNA. Using the super-fast WebKit browser and Adobe Flash® Player 10 with dedicated hardware acceleration, you'll experience the web as it was meant to be.

  • Not only I have it rooted, I installed a custom ROM in it. Go to xda-developers.com to learn more about custom ROMs. If you just want to root it, look for an app called "z4root". Just install it and choose Root from inside the app. Easy and painless

  • Let me know any other Android phone with similar specs...like 3.7" display and qwerty keyboard, offers better battery life. You can't drive an SUV and expect the fuel economy of a subcompact.

  • Don't compare Apple with Motorola, those are different brands.

  • for a very long time i wnated this phone and MTN SA did not have it...i finally chose an HTC desire...its a brilliant phone on 2.2 android

  • Listen to me... this is the worst phone that I ever have in my life... why? well... simply the battery last less than one day (phone is 1 month old)... And what it's suppposed to do in order to have more time on? Simply... turn off everything, emails accounts, facebook, don't use as a MP3 player (or GPS without car charger) or as a camera... and you have a huge piece of heavy plastic and metal on your pocket, just to call you mom and say hello... Isn't that great?

  • Did you see that as a problem on any "GB" iphone? All iphones have internal memory only and none of them ever lags.

  • i think the phone gonna be damn lag if there are so many apps in the internal memory

  • hi there, did anyone sucessfully "Root" the Milestone 2? from gsm arena, this phone cannot be root!

  • I DO! I like to keep the old ones while keep downloading new ones.

  • milestone series are best qwerty slider in the world i realy love my m2 and i hope moto release new milestone 3 in this spring

  • It's simple. The HTC Desire Z has a newer CPU! By the way that phone is too heavy, buy this phone!

  • Why Moto made the mistake, that the internal memory is ONLY for Applications?? Who need more than 1000 Apps?

  • I was looking at the Desire, but found numerous problems mentioned on the web. It rang alarm bells.

  • sure milestone 2 !!! if u dont need qwerty slider get defy

  • which one is better??? defy or MILESTONE2 or htc desire

  • thx moto this is realy awsome qwerty smartphone and realy unrivaled

  • but tat is heavy than milestone2 -_-

  • I'd advise you wait and see if they bring the M2 into the country, the M1 is really not worth it in my opinion. I almost bought it 4 weeks ago, but I had an uneasy feeling about it. It wouldn't be good to overclock it since it's a slide phone, you definitely need the full term warranty in case anything happens. The M2 has so much more, the most important of which is the faster processor. I like the XT610 purely for the specs. If only it didn't resemble anything close to a BB.

  • Agreed.Bring the Droid X to the GSM market for the Asia market. We are waiting anxiously for it.

  • Droid Pro (I presume its the XT610) as on gsm arena looks like a Blackberry with a big screen -3.1". A bit ugly but with much better specs than a BB. I prefer Mile 2 but will have to wait and see. I posted MTN's reply but it is not listed yet on comments. MTN Business have it on system but can't locate it in warehouse. They haven't got it. Should I buy a Mile 1 if I can't get a Mile 2? What do you recommend? Main diff is slower processor and (much) less onboard memory in Mile 1. Is Mile 1 still capable of delivering the goods without overclocking it as I'm sure that it will render warrantee invalid.

  • william to answaer some of your questions. the M2 has best build quality, mainly the sliding mechanism which is bad on the Desire z. Graphics the htc is a bit better. cpu performence is similar. camera I would say the motorola is a bit better.

  • I called Motorola SA yesterday, they say they doubt we will be getting the Milestone 2 in SA at all, but we will be getting the Motorola Droid Pro, which is my first choice - late Feb, early March :) I hope they don't disappoint. Do let me know what they say at MTN.

  • William, Milestone is better all around, except for the radio. Probably costs more too.

  • I'm going to MTN tomorrow morning - the Business Cliet Manager. I will ask about it as it's my first choice. I hope it's available. Will let you know what he says. It's on their First Quarter 2011 Promotional Plan, along with Milestone 1 and XT720. If I can't get M2, I'll have to choose N8 (for the camera but Symbian OS being cancelled I hear - may be a dud in a year) or Samsung Wave 2 (Bada 1.2?). HTC Desire Z too expensive, but I really like a hardware qwerty.

  • The people at the MTN stores have no idea what this phone is, they keep referring to the XT720. Really frustrating that they don't care to give us the correct information. I've been asking about this phone for a very long time.

  • Motorola Milestone 2 launched in Taiwan The general manager of Motorola mobile device business for Hong Kong and Taiwan Ritchie Ma stated that in 2011 more Android handsets will come to the local Taiwan than it the past 2010, when only nine models were launched. Ritchie Ma also noted that the first dual-core Atrix 4G smartphone and Android 3.0 Xoom tablet may be next Moto products to be introduced to the local market.

  • Motorola Xoom gets Q2 European launch, WiFi-only and silver models now extra official

  • Friends, I just thought to buy a new mobile. But I just want to know which one has better performance between HTC Desire Z and MOTOROLA Mileston 2. Actually I don't understand the technical meanings. So can you please explain me that HTC d z has a 800 Mhz processor but Motorola mileston has a 1 Ghz. But people say that HTC is faster. What's the reason? And which one has a better graphic system? Motorola or HTC? And what is the meaning of GPRS Class 10 and Class 32? Which option is the better? How is the camera quality of these two models? Does Desire Z have a dedicated microphone fornoise reduction like motorola mileston has? Motorola provides 8GB memory card but does HTC provide? I've never used a HTC or MOTOROLA before. So will someone please answer me???

  • I'm in South Africa. Got the Q1 - 2011 Promo Plan from MTN. Offer # 627 for Milestone 2 is R209 p/m for Anytime 100 or R269 Anytime 200 (offer #629) or pay cash R2349 and R108p/m on Anytime 100 (offer #626). Other plans are avai for more minutes in package. Document says it is available from 01/2/2011 - 30/4/2011. If it is available, I didn't see it in the latest brochure but like I said above, they are offering it in their Q1 (first quarter) 2011 Promotional Plan. Hope that helps if you are looking for it.

  • It will be available in April in South Africa. First the Defy will be release in March

  • Also just available in HK for about US$525 unlock and no contract. Got one for my colleague. But for myself, I need to wait a few months (or price drop), as I spent too much $ on Moto Android phones last year already! :)

  • now available in singapore starhub, i thought moto come too late... moto need one step forward in asia...now time to launch droid x gsm version, hurry up moto.

  • a brilliant phone and South Africa doesnt even have it as yet!!!! They are not sure when its releasing

  • The battery of DROID2 is the different from MILESTONE2?? Milestone 2 comes with BP6X battery, what model comes with Droid 2?

  • My M2 is now my personal computer. It is almost perfect phone. Your sins are: 1. Poor battery performance: if you work on an office department all day, don't worry. Plug your M2 on charger when you enter the office and be happy. But, if you stay out most of time, better you buy an extra battery. Trust me. 2. No TV-OUT: I'm confused. M2 is 720p. M2 has a dedicated video chipset. M2 has a great sound quality when plugged to a stereo system. So WHY in this world Motorola don't make an TV-OUT feature?? Even a cheaper phone like LG KU990 or Nokia 5800 has it! 3. Camera s**ks! The photos aren't so good. At night or without light, is worse. For me, the best 5MP cellphone camera stills with Nokia N95.

  • It would be great if every phone with "scratch-resistant" display had that expression in the specs, so if one searches for that expression, all of them would be listed. like iphone 4 and some others. Thanks.

  • The browser itself can't run it, but I believe that there is an app for that.

  • Hi, you can use Milestone Overclock. Milestone 2 brazilian version needs a modified version, if you are having trouble with the market version of Milestone Overclock, you can try this one: (download link is about on the middle of the page). It's working on my MS2

  • The browser itself can't run it, but I believe that there is an app for that.

  • To answer your questions: I wanna kno: 1. U sure u cant unlock that 8GB of system memory sumhow? 2. Can u use the d-pad on the keyboard 2 get around in the browser? 3. How is the call quality? 4. Can u use the Droid 2 motorola 1860 mAh battery for this phone? Thats all... 1)Probably can't, but don't see any need as the phone comes with an 8GB external memory card, and you can always buy 16GB (for about US$30) or even 32GB...unless you have plenty of video files, otherwise from my experice 8GB is good enough for many songs and photos already. (and you probably won't have time with the Android experience. 2)yes 3)One of the best in the industry 4)Yes

  • My question to milestone2 users please tells about internet web browser.Does internet browser run window media vedio& audio files? I intrested to buy now days i have nokia n900 & n900 does not run window media files,please..........Reply this.

  • Oh yeh, how do u overclock the CPU?

  • I wanna kno: 1. U sure u cant unlock that 8GB of system memory sumhow? 2. Can u use the d-pad on the keyboard 2 get around in the browser? 3. How is the call quality? 4. Can u use the Droid 2 motorola 1860 mAh battery for this phone? Thats all...

  • nice

  • and atrix beat all them qhd 24bit color for first time by moto

  • actually, Samsung Galaxy S beat iPhone 4's screen based on GSM review.

  • Can anyone comment on the keyboard of Milestone 2? I have the first Milestone in my hands now and I want to upgrade it just because of internal memory and the keyboard - which is a nightmare. Could anyone comment on the keyboard please. Is it good or bad? Is typing fast on it possible without pains? thanks

  • yeah but remember the iphone4 has pretty much the best display on a mobile phone

  • Bought this phone yesterday and i have contradictory opinions. Generaly, phone has good quality, it is fast, but i found the following drawbacks: 1. Display is worst than iphone's 2. Baterry life is very bad. Half a day with wifi on 3. When i keep my phone connected on 3g for pushemail i cannot take calls anymore. The caller gets the user unaivable message. It works 1 min and then doen't work for 5 min. It is really anoying. I will send it back tomorow. Did anybody had this problem? I was expecting much more from this phone. Iphone is far from the ideal phone, but it works better than milestone. I am taking out of compairison htc, samsung and se because i don.t like them. Nokia is years behind.

  • Original milestone was excellent quality but let down by internal storage limitations which this phone seems to have resolved. Let's just hope Motorola do a better job of keeping the O/S up to date than they have done with the original.

  • If suppose order Milestone 2 in India from UK ,will i get warranty n Customer care support?

  • That's a shame Chris, MTN said they'd call me this week to let me know when they'll be getting the M2, I'm still waiting for that call. I wish I had other means of getting it, or the DROID Pro. SA networks need to keep up with the rest of the world! Seriously!

  • tmilestone series are best qwerty slider in the world

  • Hey guys where are all the m2 users at?? Im looking to buy one, and im still a bit unsure if io wanna go for this or the desire hd. What do you guys think about the phone you guys have? any dramas? Ive currently got the iphone 3g - had it for just under three years, looking to get rid of it, anything you guys can say would be really appreciated, Thanks

  • What's the deal about front cam? Why almost nobody said anything when Moto first offered front cam as early as 2004? Moto "had been" offering front cam all these years but nobody seemed to say anything.... Until the day where most users already forgot about such feature, all of the sudden Mr. Jobs said everybody needs one. Then all the discussion started to pop out... To be honest, in the past 6 years or so, how many people have you seen using video call? Or even the fruity phone alone, how many you saw "stood" around a wifi hotspot (not sure wifi on bus / ferry / plane works) and used Facetime? NONE in my observation. Not that I don't like video call, though Steve was the one who took it away with fruity 3G and now he says everybody needs one in fruity 4...yikes, I don't want to be dictated. For 8GB internal memory to store apps. Currently I've Milestone 1 and the biggest issue is insufficient internal memory, why everything else can't be stored on external memory? External memory is getting cheap these days...I can get a 16GB card for about US$30. But can I "upgrade" the internal memory for my Milestone even for US$300? The answer is "NO", I need to spend US$500+ for a Milestone 2.

  • m2 in south africa not happening anytime soon, from what I heard, the networks haven't even tested the handset yet... its always the same story... but judging by the new range coming from MOTO they will have to start soon... cause motorola is coming back in a BIG way. Somebody organized me a M2 and i think it might be with 2.3 on i hope... should be getting it this week

  • I went to two MTN stores and a service centre, they know nothing about the Milestone 2. They keep referring me to the Milestone XT720. Where can I find the Milestone 2?

  • theres also Milsetone 1 for R159.00 pm on mtn R100 airtime.thats a good deal if R220 for Milestone 2 is too much for you.

  • in malaysia, desire z retail price is about usd 750, while i got my m2 unlocked for usd 600. No Brainer!

  • you rather choose Milestone 2 way more specs plus adobe flash 10...well xperia mini is more of a mid range compared to high end device like milestone 2

  • In HK, Milestone 2 costs around US$511 while Desire Z costs around US$604...both being unlocked without contract. Don't see the H company would ever be so genorous to offer anything below US$500 as a new Android phone these days, unless being mid-end.

  • im quite sure the Desire Z is around the same price, i heard that Desire Z cost less than the old milestone in Manila, a guy i know paid 28k for his Milestone and someone else recently bought a Desire Z for under 25k. The difference in GPU performance is big enough to be a deciding factor for ppl who plan to play upcoming game titles. Plus the Desire Z looks great =)

  • Agreed. Most ppl like this just like to talk, & in the end would buy nothing. I guess once tegra 3/M3 come out, he'll think its better to wait for tegra 4/ M4.. In Kuala Lumpur, Desire Z has been released for about 3 months & i was very interested in it, yet kept waiting for M2. Now, a week after using it, I must say it is really worth it.

  • I am never ever buying motorola phone again. I have milestone 1. Announced as flash ready phone but it dosen't play flash at all! No froyo 2.2 released and no support for milestone at all! By moto...

  • The HTC desire is far more expensive than this phone from what Ive seen, and it offers fewer improvements on this phone.

  • The HTC desire is far more expensive than this phone from what Ive seen, and it offers fewer improvements on this phone.

  • Can you upgrade this to 2.3?

  • For you no phone is good enough!! have you actually got the phone? have you tried the phone? ......even a quad core processor phone won't be good enough for you!

  • great specs, nice design, metal case, gorilla glass, full qwerty, crystal talk tech and 'a good idea' motoblur. Absolutely my dream smartphone. But I'll just keep it there, in my dream lol. Best phone, in my humble opinion

  • thanks gsmarena for this perfect review hope your perfesional team make more and more review about new motorola phone cheers

  • The GPU is very weak compared to HTC Desire Z (adreno 205). Milestone2 has same GPU as Nokia N900, and while thats an excellent GPU its still slow compared to newer GPUs. Plus the HTC is better looking and whatever. IMO theres many reasons to get the Desire Z instead of this.

  • Well nice review by team GSMARENA.... This phone is really very great in many aspects but there is some drawbacks in this phone which moto needs to take care of. First they hav forgot to include secondary camera and FM; i know most of people dont need secondary camera but since 3G is now available in many countriew of world nw, so secondary camera will be really handy, and more over many apps can also use it, and mayb in future even most of the games will take use of it.......'internal memory can only be used for installing apps'!!!!! Moto u got to be kiddiiing meee, i hope guys at xda developers finds a way out of this. And i thnk i shud leave my plan of purchasing this phone and wait for 'Milestone3' which can have all the spec of atrix with some upgraded feature of atrix, (like tegra3d processor or tegra3 quad core processor), and reatain the looks and qwerty keypad of milestone series, hope moto makes this phone.....

  • To Milestone 2 M'sia : I don't know about video calls popularity, but secondary camera can be used at applications like fring as I reffered.

  • I am considering taking out a contract for this phone - it is very difficult to find a phone which is well priced in South Africa and has a physical qwerty keyboard). I believe there is an offer for R220 a month which comes with R100 airtime per month with mtn. The price of an xperia mini pro is R100 a month with the same R100 of airtime per month. Considering the huge price premium (R120!) do you think it would be worth choosing this phone over an xperia mini pro? The way I see it is that the R120 extra per month would be for the screen, the processing speed and the ability to use this phone as an ebook reader for my college notes.

  • The big disadvantage is the battery life!! every other features are fantastic but the battery life seriously is a turn-off & a big deal breaker. Motorolla you could have done better...!!!

  • Thanks. Motorola always late anyhow

  • i guess that would be cause nobody's using video call anymore. still, it would still be a plus point.

  • hey where is my comment. i just ask the price but get banned, whats going on here..?

  • The day for Milestone 2 to be released has been pushed to a few more days.... It still will be release in Singapore around 10 -20 February. Stay tuned. :)

  • the motorola milestone 2 is a very good cell phone

  • I read the review, it says that the phone does not have FM Radio, so does the specs but I also read the Moto manual on this handset and it says that the phone does have FM radio but in order to use it you need headset which is common for FM radios on the phones. Can any users advise on this, please? Would be really helpful. Thanks

  • SINGAPORE. did you buy this phone yet? how much in Singapore ? Thanxs

  • At the review the writer forgot to write a main disandvantage for me.. There is no secondary camera to be used for video-calling or at applications like fring.. It is a pitty cause it looks like a very nice mobile phone. I don't think I would buy a mobile phone with no secondary camera. Especially one that is considered a ''high end'' device that costs some extra money from a simple mobile phone.

  • it depends on where you buy it from. I bought mine from Cex for £320! Otherwise I think its more nearer the £360 mark!

  • They are already working on the review, but you are right, they are taking too much time to review it. At least we can expect a big review

  • WTF GSMARENA where is the review of this phone...????? U got this phone before blackberry bold 9780 and even before new samsung galaxy phone.... But u had already put up preview of new galaxy and detailed review of Blackberry 9780, but review or preview of Milestone2 is still unavailable, can v know the reason ...!!!!!!!!

  • I would only buy a Nokia if it comes with MeeGo. Symbian is outdated, just a recycled system. Not that it's a bad system, but there are much better systems now, like Android, iOS, Bada, WinPho7 and MeeGo.

  • i just want to know a thing.. what is better to buy? a Motorola Milestone 2 or a NOKIA last generation.. tnx

  • hey bro.. just got mine last Saturday. superb phone. installed launcher pro immediately. great device

  • hell yeah..whats the big F*** with the fruit brand people que up to get those phone despite the antennagate problem

  • attaboy... Do you like ms2

  • you should be able to. since u bought it from UK it uses a UK ROM, hence an OTA update would be possible

  • Just a question...if i buy this from the UK..i live in India..would i be able to update the phone to 2.3 whenever the update comes. I mean would the UK update be available here.

  • You can simply use a different launcher.

  • Is there any way to deactivate Motoblur in this phone?

  • Attention everyone! Motorola Milestone 2 to be sold in Singapore before Chinese New Year 2011!

  • Faiaz, I just got myself a Milestone 2 a week ago. Very solid smartphone, basically a micro... or better say, nano-computer in your pocket. Swype input method for text writing something mindblowing. Web radio stations on the go FTW... Regarding the camera, it has the same quality of my standalone Olympus camera a few years old: often grainy photos, but solid good in good lighting conditions (specially daylight) and even better if you resize your photos. For amateur filming in 720p, it's pretty mindblowing for a cell phone. Too bad my HDTV doesn't natively play the 3gp format. In any case, much higher quality than your typical PC webcam... I just wish it had a front camera as well for videoconferencing. I might try some of it in front of a mirror... :)

  • Is there a date for the launch of this review, or any provision for his release, something like within this month or next

  • its ok but it is true. There wasnt any 360 spin and gallery of ms2 before. And the blog also mentioned it.

  • sure this is being done review of milestone 2...sorry Faiyaz wrong click...I'm new in this posts.

  • sure this is being done review of milestone 2?

  • check clove.co.uk or u could check on ebay

  • the camera is decent. its no cybershot nor does it has any fancy optics, but it does the trick well enough. better than a HD desire or a desire Z

  • I want to know how much money it will cost in Bolivia.. and how could i get this phone if i live here.. anybody could help me please

  • thank u all i really appreciate it. I really wanted this phone or the original milestone. But i wanted 2 froyo phone so milestone 2 is THE one . But what about its camera? Is it upto standard? And are any other android phones better than this? Hope not!! And i hope that i wud enjoy reading the review!!

  • hey guys good news gsmarena review is in the way thanks gsmarena team

  • just to add on to anon's reply to u. 8GB internal memory and comes bundled in the box with an 8GB micro SD. so thats 16GB for u. more than enough if u ask me. but if u have a radio station collection of mp3's u can swap out the 8GB micro SD for a 32GB one.thats 40 gigs in total for u. also since it uses a 3.5mm jack, u can connect any standard headphone, ranging from Bose to B&Ws to Bang & Olufsens to enhance ur music experience.

  • i dont know what u have on ur device or what u have been using this device for mate, but i have friends using iphone 4 who tell me this is the most fluid interface they have seen.

  • but this device lags like hell....its not buttery smooth

  • Music? lots and lots of apps for music freaks on Market, and with TuneWiki integration from factory. Internet experience? This mobile has a big screen, with one of the biggest pixel density on the market, with 848x480 px of size. 3G connectivity, WIFI, the ability to serve as a hotspot to a maximum of 6 devices, and a qwerty keyboard, for improved typing Android freak? This babe has Android Froyo, v2.2, and soon will be upgraded to 2.3. It also has 8gb of internal storage, more than plenty for all your apps (it's actually too much storage =P) Like to text/talk? This babe has native integration with lots and lots of emails, really good message management, a qwerty keyboard for improved typing. Call quality is top notch, Motorola is known for its good call quality. Loud? Not that loud like a boombox, but loud enough so you can enjoy music or handsfree calling. I'd say it's as loud as V8, or better.

  • Hey guys i wanna know whether this phone is suitable for me or not. I am a hardcore motorola fan and currently am using the fantastic razr2 v8. But now let me tell you about my lifestyle. I like to take photos and videos. I like to listen 2 music. I would love 2 use it for experiencing awesome internet access. I am an android freak. I text a lot but also call. I want it to be loud. Is it okay 2 use it?

  • hi bert, the loudspeaker is decently loud in a quiet environment (ie in ur room or car or work - if ur having an office job.). outdoors it is audible but not brilliant. also on maximum volume the sound does crack a little bit, but it shouldnt be a bother at all

  • Unboxing the Motorola MILESTONE 2, texting and SNS are in its blood Time for another unboxing on todays menu is the Motorola MILESTONE 2, or DROID 2 as its called States-side. The Motorola messenger kept a lot of the highlights of the original, while updating much of the features. Heres what we found in the box The Motorola MILESTONE 2 box includes the standard set of goodies a charger, a one-piece headset and a microUSB cable. I also found a travel adapter in the box as the charger was of the UK variety. Theres also an 8GB microSD card preinstalled (just like the original), but the MILESTONE 2 comes with 8GB of built-in memory too, for a total of 16GB out of the box. Here comes the video of the unboxing along with a short peek at the user interface: Ill leave the details for the review, but here are the major selling points of the Motorola MILESTONE 2. The Gorilla Glass protected screen is a 3.7 unit with 480×854 pixels resolution. Sliding it open reveals a four-row QWERTY keyboard. The slider is not spring assisted and not very easy to use the keyboard at least looks comfy, but Ill have to spend more time using it to pass a final judgement. The OS is Android 2.2 Froyo running on a 1GHz CPU. Its augmented by the MOTOBLUR UI version 1.5 as expected, theres SNS integration all around, but some other handy tools as well. Theres a Task manager preinstalled and there is also the Profiles setting, which is similar to Sense UIs Scenes. Flash and Wi-Fi hotspot functionality are included too. Oh, and theres one more update the 720p HD video recording. Theres a lot more to cover, but that will have to wait for the review.

  • Hey Moto if you are listening then pleaseee bring out next version of milestone with specifications of Atrix; i.e. 4" screen with resolution of 960x540, 1gb ram or even more, 1.2 ghz dual core processor, 16gb/32gb of internal memory, 2 megapixel video call camera and minimum 8megapixel primary camera, along with the keyboard of 'milestone' series.... This would be the best phone.....

  • Hi Can anyone tell me what the loudspeaker is like on The Milestones.I us it alot for phone calls and playing music. Thanks Bert

  • we are hop m2 comig soon to asia country

  • what is the correct price of this mobile coz in India it is being sold close to 500euros where as in gsmarena it is being displayed 290euros... i dont seem to connect the price diff :(

  • haha.. weird luck eh? i bought moto v9 a couple of years ago,got taxed rm200 something.. but my moto dock had no prob at all.

  • i actually didnt get taxed for the phone for some reason. but they taxed me RM30 for the dock...LOL

  • thanks for adv bro anyway, didn't ur phone got taxed by customs? how much did they charged you?

  • im afraid i have to disagree with you when it comes to call quality. ive used flagships from nokia, sony ericsson, dell, iphone, and HTC. unfortunately nothing comes close to the call quality of the motorola flagship models. its surprising you're reporting any static at all. and after using andoid, windows and symbian, i must say android tops the chart.

  • I've now the MM2 for 2 days. Being in the UK I bought it from cex for £320, unlocked and grade A! Having been a Nokia fan for years I decided to take the plunge and give this phone a chance. while using Nokia phone I also used in between the HTC HD2 (windows 6.5) and also the Nexus one! I will briefly go through what I think of the handset....but firstly, I have always wanted a phone with a QWERTY keyboard. After using the nokia e71, n97 and n900 as well as the HD2 and nexus one i fealt nothing could come close to Nokia although I liked the Android system! pros- -fantastic build quality - mainly metal I believe. -very stable operating system. hasn't slowed down on me yet! -after using N1 previously. I signed on with my google account and ALL my contacts transferred to the phone automatically! -Battery life very good compared to Nokia N900. lasted easily all day with moderate use. Charged within 1.5 hours! - Bright screen -Voice dialling even over bluetooth!!!!! fantastic while your driving! N1 could not do that! even with 2.21 update! - Can set calls to say callers name over and over again rather than using a ringtone! - Phone automatically stops sending and receiving data including email between 22.00 - 05.00 so you get a peaceful night! -Motorola widgets aren't as bad as what ppl think! - Speakerphone qyality just as good as my N900! Cons- - In call quality not as good as Nokia phonee, but comes very close!...still a bit of static and thats with using the different call quality settings! However over bluetooth using Jawbone its crystal clear - touch sensitive buttons not always responsive. - To steup any other email account other than gmail. you have to register with MOTOBLUR account! strange but true! But once done email comes over like in Nokia phones! - Don't get this phone for it's camera. The N900 has 5 meg pix camera which is way better. All in all....I like the phone very much indeed! Would I stay with Android from now on?....YES! would I get another Motorola in the future.....YES! Motorola are better than I thought!.. WELL DONE!

  • anyhu, motoblur is no hassle at all unlike what many reviewers make it out to be. its just like anroid, the more u use it the more u learn and get used to it. just make sure u have an unlimited data plan though cuz its VERY VERY data intensive.

  • yep im a KL lad too. i highly doubt you will get it in malaysia at all. reason being there motorola distributor here, bright star isnt as proactive as nokia's zitron. besides, the motorola market here isnt very big. little do the masses know what they r missing out on. anyhu, i got my unit from UK. the website is clove.co.uk. alternately i know a chap who brings in phones from singapore. he could get u the MS2 for RM1.9k if im not mistaken. i tried looking around many shops in and around KL but had no luck. so ur best bet would be clove or this fella i was on about

  • Ak, thanks for ur reply. Really appreciate it. Yup, I'm from kl. Where are you? Have u managed to buy M2 yet? Moto really slow isn't it? M2 yet to enter our market, when around march or april better phones will be released (ex: atrix, dualcore procsr). Fingercrossed none will feature better slide qwerty keypad eh.. Try to get it today, hopefully motoblur will not be too much of a hassle as many review suggest..

  • Nope, It's not, currently It is the BEST Android phone with qwerty keyboard out there.

  • of course milestone 2 bro. like the defy, it comes with flash 10.1 support. that means u can view flash content (ie youtube) on ur browser itself without using an external application (just like how u do on a computer). the slide out QWERTY makes typing emails a breeze, something the defy, c7 and wave lack. also i can say for sure, after using high end nokias, HTCs,and SE's that motorola has by far the best call quality of them all if i were u, for sheer internet viewing pleasure ill go for the milestone 2, or a dell streak if u can try push for one.

  • the phone is already in the market mate. its been around since november as far as im aware.

  • honestly speaking 8GB is more than enough. if im right to assume from ur name that ur from malaysia, i would recommend u to go for the milestone 2 instead of the droid 2. reason being we use GSM in malaysia and there is no reason having support for CDMA in a country that doesnt even use CDMA.

  • What the hell happened with this phone?! When he hits the market, he will probably be outdated already. Motorola are lagging behind...

  • hey where is the REVIEW for the Motorola MILESTONE 2???????????????????????????? Comeon Gsmarena are you guys sleeping? cant you even give the god damn review, it has been long this phone has been out!!! i didnt expected this from you guys, its really sad that you have miss the best phone out there...

  • Hi Please help me ...i am upgrading my contract so which is a better phone between these Samsung Wave Motorolla Defy Motorolla Milestone 2 Nokia C7 I am more of an internet user and would prefer web quality to be good including flash player (not refering to You Tube but other sites as well) Please reply

  • i just couldn't understand some ppl.. i couldn't even fill up 4gb memory, let alone saying that 8gb is not enough.. do they still keep porn vid in their phones or what? anyway, i've already found store that is selling milestone 2 for $600 us & droid 2 global for $700 us. which one would u prefer honestly? Thanks

  • ms2 has got world best specs in a 3g phone i cant take off my hat moto coz i'm bald;) & bowled over by ms2's maiden delivery i'm drooling over this gadget guys bring on the credit card!

  • but the phone comes with an 8gb micro SD so u hv more than enough expansion besides the internal memory. so thats not much of a bother is it?

  • do not count on the internal memory, its only usefull for applications... you can't use it as mass storage drive unfortantly i only discovered it when i get my milestone 2... gsmarena could help if they review it, but they ignored the phone... now i have a internal 8gb phone, that can't use it to store musics for exemple

  • I wouldn't wait for long, if they didn't review it until now it's going to be a while until the review is ready I don't even think that they had started to review

  • Fair enough, but on a standard smart-phone contract for 35quid/month for 18 months, you'd end up paying a minimum of 630quid. now thats excluding any additional usage ie international calls/sms. i just found it much cheaper on PAYG, especially since im only in the UK effectively for 8 months

  • when is gsm arena gonna do a review? its too delayed !!!!

  • Try to stay under 8gb of storage, with music and a camera that can record at 720p@30fps, and you will understand the need of a bigger storage. Anyway 8gb for software is too much, specially for Android.

  • With memory cards being so cheap nowadays, why bother to store music / pics in internal memory?

  • Why is buying the phone a lot cheaper?? After paying £300+, you still have to get a sim only contract or PAYG. Surely this is more expensive in the long run?

  • i had the same considerations as u. however, the desire z has a slower processor and a screen with slightly lesser resolution, though it does have an S-LCD screen. however, unlike the MS2, the HTC doesnt have the sturdy gorilla glass. internal memory on the HTC is also significantly less, and the HTC has a camera with only a single LED flash while the MS2 has one with a dual LED flash. and where im at the MS2 is way cheaper than the HTC. i guess the choice is clear then isnt it? Motorola milestone 2 all the way

  • Hmmm...should I get this or the HTC Desire Z? Stupid Motorola, locked the bootloader on the Milestone 2...

  • Yes, but the internal 8gb isn't accesible by the user. Only the system can access it, and it serves only to install apps and hold it data, i.e. you can't save pictures or music in it

  • yes pilgrim. 8GB internal and 8GB microSD provided...making it a total of 16GB

  • All Moto fans, we have now the most impressive Smartphone in the world the Moto Atrix 4G but hater are voting down this phone. So, please! Let all vote up Moto Atrix for a good image of it on GsmArena. Here the Moto Atrix 4G's galleries.

  • milestone 2 droid 2 global the world best of best and must powerfull qwerty smartphone cheers moto

  • I was going through the specs provided by GSM arena and not getting clear picture on internal memory. As of now it looks the phone comes with 8 GB internal memory and 8 GB SD card(expandable up to 32 GB) i.e. in all 16 GB memory. is my understanding correct?

  • Thanks

  • @100 Moto-thanks a lot!

  • @Arnab-thanks a lot

  • Ok, so I cant figure out how to work with the expansys dock, the touchscreen just go crazy when I use it. If you dont have a dock or your dock doesnt work like mine, you can download the Dock Simulator. This app can bring the home or car dock home screens to the M2. Its nice.

  • No problem at all buddy. I was just very impressed with the call quality as this is my first motorola ever. Well u dont need a service provider to get one. Clove.co.uk is selling it for just over 350quid inc VATs and expansys and play are also selling them sim free so u might wanna check it out. Trust me after using contract phones in UK for 4 years...buying ur phone sim free is very much cheaper

  • Thanks for that tip AK. No one apart from yourself has ever commented on the in call quality. I'm currently using the Nokia N900. I think it's a brilliant phone and in call quality is excellent. It's a shame GSMarena hasn't reviewed the phone as i was so much looking forward to reading their opinion on the call quality! Your user experience helps a lot! I will consider getting one now it's just a shame that no mobile service provider is offering the phone in the UK.

  • moto defy is already in asia and the rest of the world. its retailing in malaysia for around RM1500 (US$500). unfortunately though besides the droid 2 global, the rest lack a qwerty keypad, which is really handy especially when long mails r involved. just fyi m_sin, if u root ur MS2 u can overclock it to run at 1.2GHz. which would be the exact clock speed of a D2G. besides, im nt sure if u can use CDMA in may parts of the world

  • guys good news this beast of a phone is going worldwide alongwith the droid x, droid 2 global(both gsm n cdma support in a single device), droid pro xt610, moto defy. coming to india in jan 2011.. all of them ..all gsm versions.. n tht is confirmed news.. :)

  • well it is decent to view slide shows, but with DLNA why use a multimedia dock when u can hook it up to a tv? if ur willing to spend that money then by all means get it.

  • In addition to wacthdog lite I also use 3G watchdog for traffic monitoring. Its a good app. About the dock, mine is from expansys (expansys branded), not original motorola, so maybe thats why it does not work. When I put the phone in the dock, it just charges. It was supposed to let you operate the phone for multimedia, wasn't it?

  • It is a very good mobile

  • i have to agree with you 100 Moto. was speaking with my gf a few days back in the midst of a thunderstorm and she heard every word i was saying crystal clear. i had no problem hearing her at all. no cracking, no break ups nothing. compare this to my X1 and the difference is more than significant.

  • thanks for ur feedback anonymous. as im still new to the android OS, i assumed that it would be safe to use task killers like how i used clean ram on my windows mobile. i will check out watchdog and get back to u guys in due course to see how its like. in any case, my phone still gave a maximum of a day and a half with or without the ATK, so i didnt notice any significant improvement in battery performance

  • well yeah i have the multimedia docking station. i think its pretty sweet, what the docking station does, however i think the chaps at motorola might have given it the wrong name. it does nothing extra to improve your multimedia experience. its just a snazzy charger, which turns ur phone into a more user friendly alarm clock. however i only paid about 20 pounds for it, and if u look up on ebay or amazon u could pick one up for US$20...its nt a great deal of money. so why not?

  • oh yes it is way better than the nokia n95. there is no audible static what so ever, and even when there's one bar of reception, out going and incoming voices are crystal clear.

  • @ak: too much work oi!!still waiting for myn! any insight for the dock??

  • Most Motorola phones, other than the low end ones which are mostly ODM made by others, offer THE BEST voice quality in the industry. The Crystal Talk technology, available on Milestone and Milestone 2, can filter out all the background noise so others can clearly hear what you say, even in noisy environment. Once my friend who was using a Moto phone with Crystal Talk, I asked as if he was at home, he said he was at a Carnival.

  • Am I right in saying from you comment on in call quality. It's better than the Nokia N95? Can I conclude there's no static in 'in call quality' just like all Nokia phones?

  • Guys don't use task killers. You are just making the phone do the same task over and over again, using more and more battery, instead of saving it. RAM memory has a low power consuption, but the processor isn't, and opening and closing so many apps all the time makes the processor work over and over again. IF you need any extra memory, Android will make sure that you will have enough memory for your task. Besides, MS2 has 512mb of RAM, it's lot like it is going to use it all. Use a CPU monitoring program, it's much better. I suggest WatchDog Lite (or Pro, if you want to support the developers), it watches over how much of the CPU is used by the programs, and alerts you when some program is using too much RAM or CPU. It's better than ATK

  • AK thanks a lot for your feedback and apps sugestion. I also came from a xperia X1 and the battery also last me just for one day so with the M2 it's the same. I am quite happy with the M2 to. I bought mine from expansys and it came with an expansys craddle. However this craddle sucks. Do you have also one to?

  • to those who just got it/waiting/thinking of getting one here are some must have apps: Angry birds; Angry birds seasons; Skype; Google Maps 5.0; Google Goggles; Google translate; google sky map; engadget; bbc; xda developers; paper toss; palringo/ym/msn messenger; facebook for android; barcode reader, adobe flash player; adobe reader; advanced task killer.

  • right i have had this phone for about a week now. besides the lack of a spring mechanism on the qwerty and the very disappointing battery life the phone is close to perfect in almost every aspect. battery lasts about a day and a half with moderate wifi usage, gaming texting and around 2 hours of calls. cant complain much though, because the UI is really power intensive. otherwise its brilliantly fast in every aspect and call quality is superb (compared with previous phones- X1 and nokia N95). the feel of the qwerty doesnt disappoint as well. solidly built phone and worth every penny

  • Sorry, I meant Not $540, $540 + Custom Duty(It seems to vary based on the AirPort) -- Via Chennai, INR 29800 was my total price.

  • Not $540, $540 + Custom Duty(It seems to vary based on the AirPort) -- Via Chennai, INR 39800 was my total price.

  • awsome and unrivaled

  • First impressions. Very well built. Fast fast! Webrowsing great. Youtube app works great. Sliding mechanism not spring assisted but the way it is built ensures aditional endurance. Detected some minor precision flaws in the touch screen. Is seems sleek although the design, imho, is the the best point in this phone.

  • When is this phone gonna get reviewed on gsm arena as other sites have already reviewed it. The reviews are quite good as well from other sites...come on gsm arena!

  • i like it

  • 540$ is milestone 2 in india ?? this is realy good price i hope m2 coming to iran with this price too /

  • Robert, this is to confirm that the India Custom Duty will be collected by DHL! I got my MS2 for INR 29800! ($510 + $30 + Custom Duty )

  • In india DHL will collect the Custom duty(~ 16%) from you when it is delivered.

  • Thanks for the review. Do let me know your more views on the phone. On an average how much time does the battery last? I am thinking of ordering the phone from US cuz from today they have increased the phone rates by $30. :(

  • HI Pilgrim, Yes the QWERTY KB is sturdy/tough enough for daily usage.Thanks.

  • Hi..The full price is about INR 22.3 K plus INR 2.1k of custom Duty & Octroi(at Mumbai Airport) Phone is good...I got a 8 GB Card & no Desktop Cradle. The Battery seems to be an issue if you operate Wifi related apps(Browsing etc).Design is solid & the QWERTY keyboard is cool & sturdy. No FM radio in the device is a big let down & you will have to be satisfied with the Internet Radio. Also I have exp'ed certain lag sometimes while operating the phone.Screen is good, nice colors.Overall excellent! Andriod rocks! Highly recommended!!

  • revieeeeeeeeeew gsmarenaa

  • Disapointed with gsmarena. They said they were finishing a review on the M2 in gsmarena holiday gift guide text: "...as we havent completed our review just yet." So far nothing. Gsmarena we were/are counting on you!! Anyway I just bought mine, Any questions just ask.

  • I am wating for this product because it is not for BOYS but MEN. Secondly, it will not be available for less than 30k and not before March.. By then 1GHz processors will become a norm and 1.2 or dual core will become very common

  • If a 3.7 inch screen, with 854x480 reso, with constant update gives 1.5 days then it is unbeatable. I am using galaxy S and getting only a day but it is ok till we start getting 2000 mAh batteries in cell phones

  • HK will probably get the official goods within a month or 2.

  • My almost one year old Milestone slides as sturdy just like new. You can expect the same quality on Milestone 2. The H-company is the one known for having flimsy keyboard.

  • Did your X1 run on a 3.7 inch with 16m color and "constant" data connection for updates on Facebook, email, etc...?

  • battery life is very poor on my usage i only get 1.5 days my old phone - sony x1, i managed to get 4 days

  • The review is still not finished. :( I really hope they will finish it this month.

  • hoping to get this phone @ 25000 mark soon in india

  • i hope this super phone coming soon to iran motorola must ship this super phone to all worle faster and faster come on moto i need you

  • How much does it cost in India? Thank you :)

  • MS2 comes with Android 2.2

  • buy milestone man ..its got unique style n excellent features wif android 2.1 on it

  • @ Arnab Dude can you tell me the full price break up of the phone purchased with accurate values.

  • Sorry, I meant drawer. You have to manually pull it out to use it, and push in to retain it. But it's a good mechanism.

  • It is a no-spring shelf. It seem rather sturdy to me, I don't think it will break easily.

  • Guy this phone is a google Android, it's have "Android Market".

  • happy newyear

  • @Arnab-i wanted to know about the milestone 2 keyboard sliding mechanism. how does it works? is it sturdy enough? will it be able to hold regular use?

  • Nipun, my M2 came with a 8gb sd card. I think it's the default for M2. The craddle comes with the phone.

  • If there is any thing like the Ovi Store? No, it's better. Ovi Store looks like the small shop near your house, struggling to keep itself in business. Android Market is like Walmart, but with freebies. Is that good enough for you? FYI, Ovi also has freebies, but android is way better

  • this is realy one of best qwerty in the world and realy awsome and unrivaled other device is droid 2 global i hop both model come soon to asia country please moto

  • @Arnab Thanks for the info. 2 Things I want to know: TIme for delivery from Expansys Full Invoice details along with custom duty break up I am asking this becasue I would soon be buying from the site. Also let me know the excahnge rate they consider cuz on website they have quoted in dollars.

  • @ Nipun,I live in Pune(Mumbai is just my temporary residence)I will let you know the performance/ Box packed stuff once I get the Shipment,it is still lying in Mumbai,I will get it tommorow(Saturday).Thanks.

  • Thanks a lot dude for telling me. Where do you live in Mumbai. Do let me know the reviews of the phone once you use the phone. I heard expansys is giving away a Milestone 2 Deskop Cradle in the box. Is it true and a 4GB card alongwith it? I saw on Expansys.in website. Dude also let me know the time it took to deliver it from UK.

  • @Nipun Yes I did...although it cost me about 24.5 K(Incl everything)... I just couldn't wait for Motorola India to launch it here(Looking at the time frame they followed for the original Motorola Milestone)I haven't opened the Box since its kept at my Mumbai residence..I will get hold of it on Saturday!

  • Did you buy Motorola Milestone 2 from expansys?

  • Yeah it attracted about 2 k of Customs duty...(Mumbai Airport)..

  • can eny 1 tell mee that which phone i should buy .. should i buy motorola mile stone 2 or nokia c7 nd does motorola mile stone 2 contain any application download store like in nokia as ovi store............ pllzzzz suggest meeee ....... thnxxx

  • @ AK, the exchange rate over here works as : 1 Pound = INR 70 1 US $ = INR 45 Therefore expansys.in seems to be a better deal and now they have reduced the base price to US $ 474.99 + $ 30 for shipping = US$ 505/INR 22725 Whereas for clove.co.uk, its 334 pounds/INR 23380. My question is that will any item imported from UK to India(Mumbai) attract any type of Customs duty or Import Duty. If yes then its not worth purchasing online.

  • this is realy best qwerty keyboard smartphone in the world thx moto

  • good choice cuz the D2 lacks the all important sturdy gorilla glass, which if u ask me is a major selling factor. ive used the dell streak and the the term gorilla is not at all an over statement.

  • mate, like what i told nipun, check out clove.co.uk....they r a UK based company selling the MS2 for 310 pounds, and with international shipping works out to 335 pounds. alternately u could email/call these chaps who do international shipping from malaysia.

  • check out clove.co.uk...they have the handphone for 310 sterling (exc VATs) and since ur in india u dont have to pay for any VAT. international shipping is 25 sterling, so all in all ull be forking out 335 sterling. pretty damn cheap if u ask me compared to ur US$510

  • On my unit QuickOffice came preinstalled from factory. It allows me to view and edit word (both doc and docx) and excel (xls and xlsx), and to view powerpoints (ppt or pptx). But this is a Brazilian version, I don't know if it changes on different countries. For example, my MS2 came with a regular earphone, while the american version comes with an earphone with controls for answering and volume.

  • Office preinstalled Quick Office. Even Milstone 1 has ofice. Don't you worry about push mail. It is very fast and easy to use.

  • How does the push mail service work on this phonw???? and can we install Office word, excel, power point on this???

  • Also, the Milestone 2 has a 1400mAh capacity, so the improvement from 1400 to 1500 isn't going to be noted. The screen is SO crispy. I haven't see such a nice screen on a long time, and I WAS a Nokia fanboy. Nokia is known for its good cellphone screen readability under sunlight, and the MS2 didn't failed me once. The camera isn't good when taking shoots at night, but no cellphone is good at that, so it's not a bad thing. Pictures taken under daylight were beautiful, colours were right and brilliant. 720p video is GREAT, the quality, speed and colours are great. The flash is kinda yellow, different from the usual (at least from Nokia's, that are usually white), but it's really good, because all the times I took photos from Nokia's with the flash on, it had that ghostly aspect, and I did not see that on the MS2 until now, so it's a pretty good camera. Just don't take night photos, or under bad or insufficient light.

  • I have the MS2, and it's quite fast =D, the 1Ghz processor is lightning fast, and 512mb ram memory are really useful, I didn't managed to use it fully. It's hard to say if Motoblur is either a good or bad thing. The interface is good, the widgets are (almost all) useful, but there's some lag indeed. I think that, if Motorola provide 2 versions for android, with and without Motoblur, would be easier to say if it's better with or without. What I can say to you is that it's useful, but not necessary. I have to say, first time I used the MS2, it added all my contacts from Gmail to my address book, and it took me a while to figure out how to make them dissapear.

  • @ Robert : I Live in India. And when I buy a phone from expansys india the total charge would be $479.99 + $30(shipping) = Approx $510. But when the complete package is shipped from UK as expansys delivers all products from UK, the product would attract customs duty when the phone is in DHL office, India. This is what I got confirmation from Expansys yesterday. I had a talk with DHL India and they were also saying the same thing. Please let me know your opinion on that. Others opinion is also invited.

  • I live in Idonesia. I have been using Milestone, so far no problem. I want to upgrade to Milestone 2. I called Moto Customer service last week. I girl could not give me answer. Only thing she ssaid for now oly Back Flip and Quench. I don't like both of them. Since I use my phone to connect to internet during my bussiness trip a lot. I need phone and type fast and fastinternet connnection. I do not want to bring Notebook anymore Just wait and be patient for Indonesia

  • This is a excellent phone. i could even to watch tv streaming it from internet and with my 5.1 surround speakers i got a real HD TV experience. i recommend it.

  • hi Sandy, Just wanted to know. I am currently in india and plan to buy this phone and then would move to canada soon. Will i be able to use this phone in canada also. Also let me know more about ur experience with this phone. Thanks

  • this is to reply to Nipun's question for custom duty. if you bring a complete package of mobile phone to the US, there will be no customs on it.

  • no there are no custom duty on a fell package of mobile phone, full means the box contains the battery and charger and the manual. if you buy only the handset or only the accessories then there will be custom duty

  • When it comes to Indonesia?? Since i was very dissapointed backflip comes only with cupcake... Or XT610?? It's hard to type with virtual keyboard.. So i need qwerty phone.

  • Can't wait for this phone to be launched in South Africa... Its About time that Motorola goes mainstream in SA again, since HTC pulled out of this country!

  • What about the speed?? I've read that despite the 1 GB processor it isn't very fast because of the MOTOBLUR.

  • agreed! not sure how gsmarena haven't managed to review it yet? anyway, the only spec that dissappoint me is that lcd screen & battery capacity.. amoled screen would get the battery perform a little bit better & 1500mAh battery would be nice. not sure about motoblur though, opinions seems divided everywhere..

  • On expansys.in, can somebody confirm if any custom duties would be imposed while getting the product couriered from DHL.

  • Hi, I really would enjoy to see a GSMArena review of this mobile, it seems quite interesting

  • Right choice, coz there is not any solution to unlock the D2G to have it work on US 3 yet. That's why I went for a MS 2 too.

  • Thanks for your comment. Well then, I think I'll just go for the Milestone 2 :) I don't wanna bother myself unlocking the Droid 2 Global anyway.

  • its an excellent phone iam using it its an awesome

  • its an excellent phone iam using it its an awesome

  • D2G is only for Verizon, go for it if you are using Verizon.

  • It's their flagship, of course it will upgrade to 2.3 Also, im writing from a ms2 right now. It's just great

  • please review it

  • waiting for moto to confirm gingerbread for this M2 before proceeding to buy it.

  • Hey, try to play some FPS games like NOVA, Sandstorm on the MS 2, I've seen some touch screen issues.

  • Here is the correct price: This does not include VAT & shipping charges however. Based on your country that will vary.

  • I bought my Milestone 2 from Expansys UK - and got it shipped to India via DHL. And, I am loving every bit of it. + Android 2.2 is working like a charm + The Phones 1Ghz processor and the 512MB memory is more than enough to run most of the Android Applications and games. + The reason why selected it was the keyboard, and I have to say, Its excellent. + Unlike what others think, I think Motoblur is pretty cool. And its really useful. Now, the demerits - So far I am sad about only 1 thing - the Battery life. - While using WiFi / EDGE, especially if I have Motoblur running, the phone's battery will be drained in about 3 or 4 hours. The charges makes up a bit though, it could be fully charged in less than 1 hour.

  • If you think the almighty brand's phones offer excellent quality, then most Motorola (except ODM low end ones) can offer super fantastic best in the industry excellent voice quality. Friend of mine was using Motorola U9 and once I asked as if he was at home, he said he was at a carnival! I have the Milestone and nobody ever asked me the question "can you repeat what you just said?"

  • at what cost did you purchase the phone... i m really interested in this phone bt cant find correct price for :-(

  • How does the call quality compare to Nokia phones? Nokia's generally have excellent call quality with active noise cancellation microphone? I know MM2 has one but is it as good?

  • How does the call quality and speaker phone quality compare to the Nokia phones. Generally Nokia phones have excellent call qualities! How does the Motorola Milestone 2 compare?

  • Is this really just 290 EUR?

  • The review is not completed yet, but they are working on it! :)

  • Hi I have this phone now for three days. Its battery is much better than I was lead to expect. Motoblur is no problem either. No FM radio is a bummer as it over the air only.Keyboard is wide so getting a good grip to use both hands is troublesome. It might just be my technique. Its heavy but sturdy.Speaker phone is OK as is the call volume and call quality. But really Im still getting used to it.Hope this might help some of you make up your minds. Thanks

  • My battery could stand for 2 days, with some phone calls ( one of them was more than 2 hours ) some text message, 20 minutes game or music and 1 hours for web surfing. I thought it's good.

  • As much info as I have, the battery should be pretty much above the average for such a phone. Nevertheless, I would love to have at least 2000mah battery in todays phones, because they just suck at the moment! I hope Tegra 2 phones will generally less stressful for the battery..

  • What's the big deal to carry a spare battery? This ain't iphone... Plus, if you work in the office, can't one simply charge the phone at work AND at home? Afterall, this phone offers a 3.7" screen and constant connectivity. Let me know any other phone with 3.7" screen that consumes less battery power running on Android...

  • Early reports poor batterry life poor video recording,,i am out. These are fully connected smartfones so poor battery and thats it straight off my list,,they need a big battery ,,hear that mobile makers BIG BATTERY ,i have said for years these things are portasble so need big battery, Your stuck somewhee so you turn on your fone for help ,,ohh battery dead and so are you..These things need optimisation or BIGGER BATTERY.Fed up of complaining about shoddy mobiles and people buy them..????

  • Could anyone please tell me about the battery life of this phone... I'm Planning to buy it... Also, which is better Nokia N8 or this one?? Thanks.

  • Sorry Matt but I just got a confirmation that the Milestone 2 won't work on AT&T 3G :(.

  • The milestone 2 has TV OUT.

  • Motorola's 10-inch Honeycomb tablet meets Mr. Blurrycam, shows off Verizon logo it'll have a 1GHz Tegra 2 T20, a gyroscope and 32GB of storage underneath that 1280 x 800 multitouch screen, as well as 512MB of RAM and a slot for an up-to-32GB microSD card. It also sure looks like there's a micro-USB jack, a mini-HDMI port and a 3.5mm headphone socket

  • Try MTN South Africa MOTOROLA MILESTONE 2 MTN 100 R 219.00 Upgrade

  • AJ I didn't see any link for a Milestone 2 that will work on At&T. Please provide.

  • The link that I gave you is the MS 2.

  • According to the manual (Milestone-2_GB-EN_UG_68004128004_v1.pdf) the FM radio is active on Milestone 2: FM Radio Plug in a 3.5 mm headset and surf the airwaves for fresh music.

  • review please..........also provide the expected launch date in india....

  • reviewwwwwwwwwwwww please gsmarena

  • I am waiting for milestone 2 to come to INDONESIA, Does any one knows when? Thanka

  • Owner of the original Milestone, and now happy owner of the Milestone 2. This phone is awesome. If you like the original, you will love this one. Improved specs, improved keyboard, and although pratically identical aestetically, little things made it prettier. Congrats Motorola, you now have a fan of this Android powered line of handset. Release Milestone 3 in christmas of 2012 with the same level of improvements and i surely will buy it.

  • AJ where do you buy one that works on AT&T 3G??

  • It would work on AT&T 3G but be careful to buy because there is the UK Milestone 2 that won't work on AT&T 3G :).

  • i will sell my milestone, & buy this right away from ebay (since it hasn't show up in asia), once moto confirmed gingerbread for it. No reason for moto not to.

  • Review please.

  • tgis phone is way way beter than desire z and other in this class

  • review pleas gsmarena

  • By being usable in the U.S. and having 1.2 GHz processor.. Are those only the advantages of Droid 2 Global over the Milestone 2?

  • I'm using T-Mobile but I heard someone has his MS 2 work perfectly on AT&T. Personally, I think It would work fine so just wait for me to confirm this again, I will answer you soon.

  • Does it work on AT&T and all services such as 3G?

  • Yes, it's completely unlocked, I bought 2 units from this site and they are awesome.

  • It look nice I am looking for one is SA

  • Thanks AJ Did you buy your own Milestone 2 from this website?? Is it completely unlocked?? I won't have any problem to use this phone with other GSM Simcards ???

  • If getting upgrades is your priority, you should go for Google's own Nexus series.

  • 504 bucks to go

  • Guys , don't you think the price On GSMArena Might be wrong?? because whenever I search for this phone it was about $600

  • You made a right choice. However thr MS 2 CPU still beat the Desire Z up check out this review According to that the Desire Z may not be able to run Android 3.0 but the MS 2 can.

  • yes the cpu clock is higher than on the desire z but the desire z is snapdragon 2nd generation cpu, hence more performant than the 1ghz TI OMAP of the MS2. Benchmarks of the desire z show impressive results. But the benchmarks on the MS2 are quite good too. But yeah I think I'll go with the motorola because is cheaper, yet great quality and performace, and the slide mechanism of the desire sucks. Just waiting for the review of gsmarena..

  • Don't go for a Desire Z coz this one have a higher CPU speed and it's true like I said it can render some 3D heavy games that the 1ghz snapdragon can't. This one also have a better design right. You can count on Motor Updating Service, the HTC only update some of their best phone and the rest are forgotten, with motor even the Back Flip got update right :). I think that the multi touch bug would be fixed in the future. I remember how bad the Milestone 1 was when the first time I used it with tons of touch screen freeze bugs, call drop so often, bad call quality. However, after a few update it become a excellent phone that I still love it. About the MS 2 camera, the HD Video Recording is very good and high quality but when you take the picture it's not very good even in a full light or low light condition with flash, that's weird huh. I'm pretty sure that the HTC camera is not better. So I see that you love phone with slide-out keyboard right ? then go for this phone. It's have more power CPU, better camera ( for video recording ), better design, more internal memory, better support than the HTC Desire Z.

  • Well that's one of my major concerns, the updating policy of motorola. I dont think we can count much on it... is the video recording ok? built quality/materials? I dont know if I go to this or the htc desire z...

  • Not really so bad, but some widgets (specially contact widget) gone crazy after I exit some 3D game like Aspalt and I dont like the call and contact buttons I more love the dock of LaucherPro. I use 3rd party apps to backup my message and data so I did not try Motor Blur service yet. Now I see one more problem is the touch screen, It does the job but with some game require to play by 2 hands like Sandstom or Nova there would be a problem with the multitouch. I don't know I am the only one who has this broblem or there is somebody does have too. I used the Multitouch Test app and see that Milestone 2 can response only 2 points when the Milestone 1 can response 4 points. This phone can play well some 3D game that phones with the snapdragon can't but the touch screen make me angry sometimes. Hope this is just a software issue and Motor can fix it with their update :(.

  • i want 12 of this phone, because 12 is my fav no. What?? they haven't reach asia yet? damn! looks like i'm not getting even 1! slowmoto!!

  • thanks for your feedback. Is motoblur that bad?? what about the cloud services (online storage of contacts, messages...) does it work ok? To all: gsmarena is currently finishing a review on this phone so hang on tight!

  • Milestone 2 now available in Australia through Optus! I have been waiting the last week as i know the release was coming soon, but no mention of it so i called the sales group and they actually do have it to ship already! should get mine in 2 days hopefully.

  • About 500 bucks at . I thought this site has the lowest price out there. I've checked ebay but their price is around $600 to $700.

  • I've got it for 2 days and I can tell you that this phone is the best phone I've ever use :). I wanted to have the Droid 2 global but they cant find any way to unlock it to use in US GSM so I went for this phone. This phone is really fast and smooth, the screen is beautiful and the keyboard is great. I've used Windows Mobile Sony X2 => I love the keyboard but the OS and speed is terrible, Milestone 1 is fast great Android phone but the keyboard is a nightmare, the iPhone 4 is beautiful smooth but lack of keyboard and its running IOS. The Milestone 2 has them all beautiful design, smooth, really good keyboard and the Android OS :). This is the phone that have all of my common needed. However, some of you guys will be disappointed because it have no front camera, the camera is not really good when taking a picture in a low light condition, the motor blur is useless and annoying but you can go to the market and have some home launcher to replace it. This is my feed back after 2 day using it, let's wait for the full review of GSM. Sorry for my bad English.

  • i love this phone this is realy unrivaled i dont need gsmarena review i am waiting for u milestone 2 please come soon to iran

  • Very good... I'll get 13 units for my family and a cheaper android phone for my 5yo cousin.

  • Yes why doesn't g s m do a review? Could it be because a certain company sponsors its articles . A company that rhymes with tamsung.

  • Yes, me too! I would like to buy 7 pcs of this phone. Two for my parents, who adore latests tech achivements, two for my one year old baby (one operating and one spare), one for my aunt, one for my uncle, two for my wife, 3 for my grandparents, one for my boss and one for his secretary...I mean!

  • I think my family will get 3 each.

  • GSM Arena, are you planning to post a test of this phone? I am planning to buy Galaxy S or Milestone 2 and I still don't know what are the pro's and con's for each of them. Also, why the price shown is so low? I can't believe it will come to the market at such a low price. Regards!

  • why doesn't gsmarena make a REVIEW?

  • greatest phone in the market

  • This phone has almost everything like Galaxy S , except Super AMOLED Screen , but the price is very cheaper than Galaxy! I will buy it too , if it comes to middle-east!!

  • We did not buy Samsung's Galaxy-S yet just because we were waiting for this Motorola, as it solves most of the major flaws of the Galaxy-S. We'll buy 3 units in our family. I hope it will not take too long to have this one available here in Brazil.

  • Same its really cheap I might get 5 for the family

  • early 2011. price roughly us 600. i want to buy two units

  • Hi Guys,When is Milestone 2 releasing in India and what is tentative price point?

  • Don't ever never think about the X2, the keyboard is great, the phone is beautiful but you are gonna be crazy coz it's really really slow. The milestone 1 is twice as fast as X2 even they have the same CPU speed.

  • It is now six months I am using the original Milestone and the feelings are mixed. Lots of stability issues until it is at least bearable with Android 2.1. But the main issue for me is the flimsy keyboard. That was the main reason I bought the Milestone and it is really suboptimal with tiny keys, one right next to the other one without any spacing whatsoever, and a lack of distinctive feeling between keys, resulting in many typing errors. Would those that have first-hand experience with the original Milestone and the version 2 be able to explain the difference in keyboard? Is the new keyboard a major improvement? Keys should be distinctive, big enough and allow for fast typing with not too much resistance. Alternatively, I was thinking of the SonyEricsson Xperia X2 which alledgedly has one of the best keyboards on the market. Maybe anyone can compare those two phones as well? Thanks in advance.

  • Thanks 100 100 MOTO. I will buy non Blur version. I am using Motorola Milestone at present. I like to upgrade to better one,

  • You can get non-Blur version in Hong Kong....probably around Jan. I LOVE Blur but all Moto phones in HK don't have it!

  • I think i've never used my money more wisely. Its perfectly priced and has every feature you can desire. I don't understand the point of people moaning about the secondary camera, there's hardly anyone in this world who make use of it. Ive lived my whole life in SaudiArabia where you can get 3G signals even at -3 levels underground and ive hardly seen anyone use video calling and its the same now while im living in england. I think Milestone2 is the best android phone on the market, beautiful looks and fits so well in your hands which was quite a surprise. I would rate it 9.5/10 as the only problem it has is battery life, oh well every smart phone suffers from that problem even low tech devices like the BB 9700!

  • Can you tell us how much you paid for in your currency. Thanks

  • I plan to buy this phone. But I do not like MOTOBLUR. Can Motoblur be turned off ? Thank you

  • I bought the Milestone 2 yesterday and I am not very impressed with the camera. In low light conditions you can forget it,not good at all.My Blackberry Bold 9700 takes better pictures. On the plus side the call quality from the earpiece speaker is very good and the volume is loud. The keypad is much better than the first Milestone.I think Motorola have spoilt this phone by adding Motoblur.

  • Hi! Do you own this cool phone? If yes, please tell me that this phone needs data connection or not? You can use the GPS without to pay or not? If you can use it without to play, then I would like to buy the Milestone 2. :) Thank you very much for your answer.

  • Yes, a 3G Symbian touchscreen phone in 2004, not like the end of 2008 like certain almighty brand.... PS. I still have my A1000 in my draw!

  • In stock now at expansys.com

  • best qwerty keyboard

  • Beautiful design...

  • Yeah, I know that many Motorola models have a secondary camera for Video call but I am talking about this Milestone 2..this is milestone, that name should stand for this model. A lack of some important and basic function will deemed it "hadn't reach the milestone".

  • just my opinion, (forgive me for bad english) years ago moto leave symbian and used linux, but the mistake moto don't makes apps for linux , moto just focus for fashion phone : razr series (i think symbian , android , iphone success because have many apps ) day by day much of moto user move to others. from 2st moto down to 8th hope next year moto will be better ...

  • 2004 moto A 1000 UMTS touch screen 2.9" secondary camera stereo speakers mp3/mp4 micro sd email a-gps... (many peoples don't know about moto)

  • What's so expensive? A "comparable" H-brand Desire Z sells for US$614 where I live. As for video call camera, Moto was one of the first to offer such feature back in 2004 with its A925/A835, but since then most people seldom, if ever, used it. Ever since the video call function was available on the "compact" V975, my gf (now my wife) had been using a phone with video call function....until the fruit company came out with its iphone 3G with "no" video call. Since then my wife forgot about the video call function and now the fruit company makes a big deal out of it....(I'm sure it KNEW how to make a phone with video call function in 2008, it just "didn't have to" so its iphone 4 can sell better!)

  • Hi! I enjoy this fight, and I want to fight too here. I want to protect the Milestone 2. You said that the Milestone 2 is better then that. I agree with that, because of the cool design, CPU speed and camera.

  • Years back, I love Motorola but now they are sliding down. Why is it that all your new models are very expensive, almost same as Iphone? Is it because both are American brands where in fact all of your units are nade in China. (take note as per statistics, no smartphone was made in US since 2008). One more thing, why are you not putting a secondary camera, especially for these model. It is still an important thing to have a video call option for both personal and business purposes.

  • will this phone be available with any of the carriers in Australia?

  • If you want a review check out a motorola droid 2 review, its the same phone minus 720p video recording. The droid 2 is the american version of the milestone 2 so its exactly the same and they will work exactly the same. I'm definitely gonna buy this phone seems like a worthwhile purchase. Check out the video reviews too. I'm also looking forward to the GSMarena review but looks like I'll have to order it online

  • greatest in the market

  • taking too much time to get launch in east asia. shame that i couldnt like samsung touchwiz ui. waiting for either M2 or any htc with froyo upgradeable to gbread.

  • taking too much time to get launch in east asia. shame that i couldnt like samsung touchwiz ui. waiting for either M2 or any htc with froyo upgradeable to gbread.

  • Yeah, it is 169 grams with STOCK battery, I was asking for a weight with extended battery.

  • Hey GSM Arena, please review this phone and provide a 360-degree view. Also, update the details about its battery. Thanks.

  • Read the spec on the left of this site. It is 169 grams only

  • Could anyone please write, how is the weight of the phone when holding in hand? Does it really feel heavy and pulls your pocket down when carrying it? This would be my dream phone, coupled with an extended battery (how much more does it weight?), but I belive that with this battery, I am already at 180 grams, which is quite a lot for my opinion.. :(

  • M2 available in UK. Sim~free £380

  • M2 available in uk. sim-free £380 expancys vodafone t-mobile

  • I wonder if you said the same thing about other brands' phones back in Nov. 2009....when Milestone first released and being the head of the competition. Result? You didn't even buy one! So how would the release date of MS2 really matters to you? If u're interested, you can probably wait. If u don't like the phone to begin with, even if it releases today where u live, chances are you won't buy one anyway. According to GSMA, the hinge on DZ is nowhere near the build quality of Milestone. So a keyboard which may detach comes free of charge.

  • I agree Larry. I've been holding out as long as possible hoping to buy the Milestone 2, but I am just so tired of them pushing the date back a few days every fucking week for the last 3 months. Going to get a Desire instead. That's another customer they've lost due to their own incompetence.

  • Shouldn't be investing on Motorola stocks considering how mishandled the company is. Always late to market, loosing potential customers to competitor. I waited for Milestone one but it took forever so I went for Samsung. I'm ready to upgrade again but Milestone 2 is again taking forever. If Desire HD or Nexus 2 comes out in Singapore first they'll loose another potential sale. I feel sorry to those people buying Motorola stocks, seeing how badly the company is run.

  • hopeless motorola marketing, u should learn from sumsung...u don't know what happening in the world.

  • Please launch it worldwide asap as Samsung is eating into your marketshare with Galaxy S & Tab, besides also loosing out on mindshare as per latest reports

  • please review this phone

  • Guys-I am really interested in this phone and wanted to know if anybody has been using it? what's the experience like? GSM folks-Any clue on when motorola would launching it in india???

  • Indonesia. Late March 2011

  • Which other phone has Motoblur UI?

  • please GSMArena.. review this phone.. make it in depth review.. and hope M2 coming soon in Indonesia

  • Based on my experience with Milestone, the slide out keyboard is as sturdy as it can be. Meanwhile, according to the review by GSM Arena, the mechanism on Desire Z proved to be flimsy...

  • make reviewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww gsmarena !!?? thx

  • +1

  • why do you say its way better than desire z?

  • And tell me why it is better!?

  • Does anyone know when this phone is officially coming out ? I haven't seen it anywhere. Not a single site has reviewed it yet, and theoretically it's been out for 2 months. Does anyone have an insight into the matter? Thanks!!!

  • please review his phone

  • way way beter than desire z this is my next phone

  • why isn't this phone available in the asia region? milestone does available ... so sad .

  • where is th ROM? galaxy S even provide 2GB ROM

  • The Droid 2 Global is already available on Verizon.

  • When will the Droid 2 Global be available? 'Cause I think I can sacrifice the HD video recording for the 1.2 GHz processor.

  • whether the milestone 2 will be marketed in Indonesia???

  • That's a little bit unfair, everyone is entitled to their opinion. I would agree that Motorola has certainly suffered from bad marketing in the past few years, especially in the uk! I don't think the Milestone 2 however is outdated. It certainly sports specifications well up there with the best smartphones! Obvioously the Droid 2 has been announced on the other side of the pond, but this does not support HD video. Fortunately for UK consumers the Milestone 2 does. Let's just hope Motorola have a good marketing campaign here in the UK. I really love Motorola. My first ever phone was Motorola, and I see no reason at all why my next phone won't be the amazing Milestone 2!

  • your are very stupid. outdated compare to what? desire z, desire hd, galaxy s or what? all those phone get 1ghz, some still run 2.1 android and just updating to 2.2 like the galaxy s and not to mention x10 with 1.6 getting 2.1 please tell me which phone run 2.3 gingerbread? and milestone 2 can update to 2.3 with no problem. what is outdated in this phone? next time let us see your name so we know who you are maybe we can help to be an open hater.

  • moto have very good phone but very bad marketing. .....now this phone is already outdated before lunch. ....l don't want to buy anymore.

  • Droid2 Global seems nice but it doesn't shoot 720p video still? If a white Milestone 2 will be released with 1.2 Ghz Cpu theirs no point of getting the D2G...

  • review please

  • Motorola Dogz a Potential Android 2.3 Gingerbread Phone on 4G LTE? 9 Email 9 Share Email The Motorola Dogz may be a codename for an upcoming Motorola Droid device on Verizon Wireless. The device may be among the first smartphones to launch on Verizon Wirelesss 4G network and should appear early next year. Not a lot of information is known about the Motorola Dogz right now, but it appears that the phone will have a 4-inch Super LCD screen, a 1.2 GHz Texas Instruments OMAP processor, 8-megapixel rear camera with 720p HD video capture, 1.5-megapixel front camera, and support for Google s next generation Android 2.3 operating system, also known as Gingerbread. The 4-inch Super LCD display is said to carry the same FWVGA resolution that other Motorola Droid devices have sported (Droid, Droid X, and Droid 2), giving it a 16:9 aspect ratio for video consumption.

  • does this milestone 2 ready with special graphic card like milestone 1 did with PowerVR SGX530 graphics ??

  • I get 2 good news to tell you then you can make your choix about which phone you want. As you said the Milestone 2 is your choice but here 2 more: 1. Droid X GSM or Motoroi X with 2.2 Froyo out of the box already going to Mexico. 2. Droid 2 Global 1.2Ghz officially announced with full specifications and available now.

  • There is NO SIM in Verizon / American CDMA phone. So if you want a GSM version, you need to take the phone apart, take out the chip and antenna....install the card slot....and there you go a Milestone 2 instead of Droid 2! The work needed is more complicated than changing the steering wheel of a car from left to right or vice versa...

  • I agree the droid 2 global does look very nice and will probably have some pretty cool yet to be announced features. I can't help but to think that the 1.2 ghz processor is a bit of a gimmick though. Does anyone actually need that much processing power in a phone? I can't think of any Android app that requires that many horses to run! Think I might stick to the milestone 2 for now. After all it does have HD video over the Droid 2. Just hope it's as good as my iPhone 4 with it's horrendous on screen keypad!

  • yes droid 2 global is better not only for the 1.2Ghz but more new featurings like quick ms office edit and view still moto didnt reveled all the featuring of that device it s may support hd video as well or have front facing camera and this may be the same for droid x global which have also 1.2Ghz and wish both will receive 2.3 gingerbread as soon as it is available in the market. remenber droid Tegra 2 named terminator will only arrive in january 2011 so for the holiday season droid 2 global and droid x global or se will be available.

  • I was just thinking how nice the Milestone 2 is when all of a sudden the Droid 2 global gets announced! Why do Motorola always screw over the UK by releasing phones donkey's years after they came out in the UK? I don't feel like I can order the Milestone 2 now because I know it isn't the best one. Although having said that, I understand the Droid 2 Global doesn't support HD video capture? I do like the sound of the 1.2 ghz cpu though.

  • jus a question. does the one they sell at verizon, could be unlocked? i mean. could u do something about it to use it to a gsm network? thanks!

  • I don't know about the pricing where you live, though where I live currently Milestone 1 costs around US$370, while MS2 will likely cost over US$600 during the initial rollout. If you have never tasted any Milestone, I would suggest you get MS1 for now, especially deal should be pretty good. Likely you will find MS1 be so good that you won't need MS2 during the initial rollout, then you may consider when MS2 prices come down. If you ask MS1 users, most of them should be happy.

  • Droid Pro is so Amazing have a look.

  • Hi Team !!!!.. when is the getting available in India/Delhi... i am waiting for this from last 2 months.. please let me know as i can't wait more !!... Regards Mandeep

  • I didn't know About Droid 2 Global... ill get that instead of the Milestone 2, no black color tho oh well :)

  • unrivaled phone

  • i had a Motorola v980 3G from 04 with video calling and was the best cellphone i ever had until today, i guess is time to get a smartphone, i'm looking towards the Milestone 2. I just love cellphones with qwerty keyboards :)

  • Here the 5 best selling phone in USA

  • Is Android 2.2 is excellent over 2.1? When this phone will be available in India? or Should I take Milestone 2.1 & later on update 2.2? Please reply.

  • wait for motorola terminator ?????

  • Moto needs to give us something that does it all. I'd pay for that. Droid X size, Milestone 2 keyboard, OMAP 4xxx proc with powerful GPU and running Android Gingerbread with a front facing camera, rear 8MP and with HDMI out like the Droid X. All nothing new to Moto.

  • Can someone tell me if this phone would work in States or Canada? I'm currently in Singapore but will be going back North America somewhere next year. I saw the chart and since this phone has 1900 band I assumed it would but I'm not an expert here. Thanks for your help.

  • droid global is coming soon. launch 11/11/2010. it's 1.2ghz processor. gsm&tri band umts. blue or white color' nice ,,,

  • Hi i want to know that when we make a video recording a high quality 10 min video will consume how many mb i want to compare wid my x6 plz give exact data no approximation.thanks

  • review please please gsmarena this is the first 2.2 android in the market and realy best of best

  • Will we be able to install Custom Roms. Since Motorola is so slack at releasing Upgrades to other Android phones. The hardware is fantastic. But Motorola's software service is not very good.

  • review please, the phone is excellent!

  • Milestone 2 price and launch before 12 November in Europe Germany.

  • please gsmarena review this unrivaeld monster and moto defy too thx

  • GSMArena lists this as available, October. Is it?

  • Thanks for your update. Hope it will soon be on store worldwide.

  • Hi! In my opinion it's pointless to fight, because those 2 companies are the leaders. Both have awesome phones available on the markets. I am happy that I am an HTC and a Motorola fan. I want to see soon a review of this phone. :) Motorola is good at making QWERTY Android phones. They are better then HTC. HTC is better in other terms, such as the Ram. Both companies have some things missing, there are NO perfect companies yet.

  • Shouldn't you expect more from the H&S brands? As these companies initially charged you more for their phones over Moto, so shouldn't they logically receive updates earlier? Though reading articles here in GSMA and other sources, seems like the 2.2 upgrade for Galaxy already ran into some problems. Plus neither of the company is willing to offer any Android handsets with full qwerty like Moto...at least before Desire Z is available, and NONE offers the voice quality like Moto, who IS THE LEADER in the industry.

  • Okay that you. Moto doesn't have any problem with the update better Milestone than SE X10 which run 1.6 and receiving now 2.1 that Milestone packed long time ago. In fact Milestone was released even before X10 but with 2.0 then 2.0.1 to fix bugs, 2.1 and now coming 2.2 still Droid already received 2.2 so you better go and tell other people that no sense because Moto is one of the best on the lastest android OS update or release. Droid 2.2, Droid X 2.2, Droid 2 with 2.2, Droid 2 R2-D2 with 2.2, Milestone will get it after Milestone 2 released just like Droid received 2.2 after Droid 2 released it all. So keep it in you mind Moto is doing well.

  • sell old car buy new car sell old phone buy new phone sell old milestone 1 buy new milestone 2 sell old wife buy new wife ..heehhhh no need to update..

  • Dear M, I don't know which planet you've been on but there was a facebook page demanding Moto update the Milestone with Froyo. I had, (and still have unfortunately due to ridicolous resale value) a Milestone and am know using a HTC Desire as I had enough of random restarts in the middle of calls and just plain finicky nonsense of the Milestone. Moto is not any good at updating their products like HTC and Samsung. HTC the fastest and most committed so far to consumers. Samsung at least has committed to ensuring the Galaxy S gets Froyo and hopefully Gingerbread too. Please research more before u decide to heap praises on Moto for such a device.

  • Don't have secondary camera mean no video call...very dispointed

  • Dont have secondary camera........:(

  • 3G: - HSDPA 10.2 Mbps - HSUPA 5.76 Mbps Source:

  • this is realy best in the market well done moto

  • People differ like that. I only use the physical keyboard. And besides, what beats playing (Super) Nintendo games whils using the GamGripper? :) So much fun. Also, the phone isn't any thicker than other so the keyboard is no draw-back like that and pricewise it's great value.

  • 1) Signal suddenly dropping should not happen and could be cause by a malfunction in the phones antenna or a problem with your carriers signal (such a problem could have been temporary) 2)Calls breaking up seems highly connected to your problem mentioned in part one and is not the normal way for this phone to work. 3) With weak signals, the phones antenna has to work harder and use more power. This as well seems to be connected to the signal problem you had on your phone. It's very important to contact support when you experience a problem like mentioned, as it perhaps could have been fixed and it would have worked as well as it's supposed to.

  • Froyo is under testing for the original Milestone and Motorola have posted this with information of when it wil be launched approximately. I am very satisfied with my Milestone and compared to other Android devices I think Motorola has done a very good job with offering upgrades. The competitors like HTC, Sony, Samsung etc have not been very good at offering updates at all.

  • There are many calendars you can use. choose the one that fits you best :) In example you have those who can syncronise with outlook

  • i've used motorola's milestone earlier when it was launched. within a week, i changed to samsung galaxy s and no complaints thereafter. problems with the earlier version of milestone are: 1) signal suddenly drops 2)most of the time the opponent cant hear your voice, it always breaks up. 3) really heats up your ear even after a normal 10minutes talk. hope, milestone 2 would have rectified those problems. anywayz, i won't be going for moto in the near future for sure.

  • How is the calendar on this phone? Useful? Not handy? How do you synchronize it with your pc?

  • Motorola released its first (3G) phone with video call capability as early as 2004 with its A920/A925. Then later with the A835. Hence Moto "had been" offering phones with video call feature, but over the years, most people seldom use it. (as in public places, chances are one has to wear a bluetooth, otherwise the conversation may "bother" other people) Then certain fruity company started the hype about video call. Which for some reason, (American) people start to realize such 6 years old technology being important.

  • If Speaker is the same one in the Original MileStone (its wasn't in the list of the upgraded hardware) , that means its really good i've MileStone & the Speaker quality is very good (I don't know about Sony Ericsson newer phones , the last SE i had is W910i) The Battery life is good in the MileStone , but with the upgraded 1 GHz CPU i think it might be different My MileStone doesn't over heat when i use it allot (calls , Wi-Fi & Music) The physical keypad isn't big deal ,(i picked MileStone over XT720 because of the keypad) now I've the MileStone for over 3 month now & i used the physical keyboard 3 times only to show it off , other than that I use Swype , much faster

  • After what I've been through with Milestone I don't think I will go for this one. Wrongly advertised flash capable, lack of updates and how long do we need to wait for the Froyo which they promised?

  • my milestone 1 is still stuck with 2.1, unlike the droids, 2.2 upgrade for milestone is still "under evaluation", and so I'm getting rid of it. I am pretty sure just like milestone 1, milestone 2 will also be "under evaluation" on the next android update. I think the keyboard is just as pathetic as milestone1's. at 600mhz milestone1 gets unbearably hot after 5 minutes of phone call, I wonder how hot milestone2 be at 1ghz.

  • i am moto xt720 user i realy love my phone much beter than galaxy and other smartphone im plan to buy milestone2 in next mounth thx moto

  • I am waiting eagerly for this. Seems Motorola is too aggressive to bring back its lost glory !

  • None Wait for the Motorola Droid global same as the milestone 2 but is 1.3 ghz.

  • i have htc desire, but i would recommend u moto milestone 2. nice phone :)

  • is this phone coming out in new york? if it is does it have a realease date? anye please help im really liking the phone and wish to get it

  • Of course - Galaxy S. Radio, Super large screen, Quality camera, Sumsung Application, makes it great. GO FOR GALAXY S

  • GSMArena please make a review soon about this phone.

  • Thank you very much for that site. :)

  • Here is the truth! I was a SE fan, and now I am an HTC and Motorola fan. maybe it is strange, but this is the truth. Your IP is familiar, you are that Indra?? The big SE fan??

  • this is new king of smartphone in the world milestone series are awsome and unrivaled

  • i can't wait to get this phone. I need a new phone. HTC phones suck ass!!!

  • Gingerbread's thrust is video call and this phone doesn't have a front facing camera? Looks like the execs of Motorola has been too busy enjoying their earnings that they're not aware of what's happening in the Android landscape.

  • That's why Galaxy S is better.

  • Galaxy S is the best

  • For all reasons, why would you buy an N8 over this phone? OS itself is years ahead of dying Symbian. This phone rocks!!!

  • Yeah, I agree. That's the biggest weakness in Android. Symbian is old indeed but one thing it does good and that is multitasking. One a 1:1 comparison between N8 and SGS, the SGS is initially faster. However if 3 tasks are opened simultaneously, the N8 is about equal in speed and by 5 tasks is quiqer. By 10 tasks the Android literally crawls while the N8 is only slightly slower the it was with one task. I have opened 23 tasks on the N8. Needles to say my SGS comes to a halt/crash if I even try to open more then 15 tasks. OK, I understand, it depends what this tasks are and here where symbian is so damn streamlined. But one day Android will win in this aspect too :-)

  • unknown size of ram and rom. no secondary camera for 3g video call, no radio. no tv out. no document editor no DivX player

  • I think you should get an n8. I had pre-ordered one myself. :) Galaxy S will eventually lag as you increase your number of widgets and install more applications. :)

  • N8

  • Wonder why majority of Moto phones do not have video calling feature ?

  • moto milestone... n8 sucks and samsung is boring to use.. its like a toy

  • Moto Milestone 2

  • it's out? yaaaay, finally!!

  • Y choose N8 n compare wt those list of phone? N8 r hopeless in web browser n outdated resolution/cpu... if u want to snap photo mainly maybe u can consider, other than that big no no to n8...

  • Galaxy S GPU is still faster than Tegra 2.

  • mobilemaster is hipocri SE then Motorola then HTC then..then...his mind depend on spec of a phone he have no loyality i love moto

  • I have all the phones. The dell streak is quite huge and it has not as much features as the other phones, but it is a good tablet. The galaxy s i9000 is an excellent phones, but seems cheap in quality and no flash!! The Nokia N8 is an outstanding phone for Multimedia. The Droid 2 is similar to the galaxy but not as good. If you want a phones for apps, business, browsing, multitasking, get the Droid 2 or Galaxy S, but if you want multimedia phone, then get Streak or N8. My favorite phones that I use are the HTC Desire HD or Apple iPhone 4. I really love my Desrie HD!!

  • Also ONLY MOTOROLA offers the BEST voice quality within the industry

  • Motorola Milestone. It has a LED flash, it has a QWERTY keyboard which the Galaxy S lacks.

  • "pl. guide me whether to buy Nokia N8, Samsung Galaxy S, Moto milestone ot Dell Streak? one final choice to be done" -Go for Samsung Galaxy S :) But keep in mind that you should charge it for 12 - 16 hours for the first charge after draining the battery for the first time. I heard this helps in extending the battery life of the phone.

  • Definitely go for the Samsung Galaxy S! Just try it and you'll see what I mean!!

  • official release november 17 2010

  • pl. guide me whether to buy Nokia N8, Samsung Galaxy S, Moto milestone ot Dell Streak? one final choice to be done

  • Yes its 99.9% sure they are releasing in the Holiday season i.e. December or in Jan 2011...its supposed to be one of Sanajay Jha's dream project...and he likely to take the fight in the middle with this launch...

  • I can't wait till the announcement. :X It seems that Motorola will be the king of smart phones. Nokia was once the king, now Motorola will be the king, with HTC of course.

  • "Motorola Terminator/Tegra 2... Releasing either holiday season or Q1 2011" Are you sure about this? Motorola is taking lots of time releasing Milestone 2 which has Froyo on board, and you're saying they'll release the one with Gingerbread that soon?

  • want to know when this phone ready. check this out? but usa not listed.

  • Guys stop following Milestone 2...buckle up for Motorola Terminator/Tegra 2 with Android 3.0(Gingerbread), 2Ghz Processor, Front Facing Camera with support for Video Calls, Wide XGA (1366×768) resolution, New 3D Games support including new Marketplace area for gaming,WebM video playback,1920×1080 (1080p HD)Video..nnnnnnn much more !!!!!!!!Releasing either holiday season or Q1 2011

  • This guy don't know anything just forget about him because even Droid x and Droid 2 got the best battery ever.

  • Really? How can you use the phone when it's not even out on the market yet? Don't mistake this phone for Droid 2 (the CDMA version).

  • I am using this phone.... the software is a bit unstable.... Worst is the battery life.... If u dont charge in the morning... u r in trouble.... The camera takes time to capture image... so u better have a very still hand and also still image that u trying to capture....

  • Droid Tegra 2 coming with best screen technology than LCD and Amoled, 4 inch, in Q1 2011

  • Motorola is working really hard this year, I am amazed! I want to see the Milestone X soon as possible. :D

  • I'm growing impatient on waiting for the release of this phone. I'm thinking about buying the iPhone 4 instead. Hmm..

  • Moto king because Droid does 2Ghz now. Full respect for this Company and all the best.

  • I am waiting for the Global version, because I don't live in America.

  • Droid X is in America but Droid X SE (Second Edition) a Global phone GSM & CDMA will be release very soon. Droid X SE packed 1.2Ghz, Froyo out of the box and a world phone. Beside Droid 2 Global Edition 1.2Ghz will first be release in november 11, 2010 then Droid X SE to follow.

  • Yes, the Desire HD competitor is the Droid X, but that phone is JUST for America.

  • unless moto use super lcd at least & 1500 mAh batt, this will lose to competition from htc

  • come on moto, I've been waiting for this phone too...

  • GOSH when is this phone being released in Europe, they say 2010 Q4 and probably around winter but I can't wait that long!!! Come on Moto please think about customers outside of US too!!!

  • but Desire HD competitor is ready : DROID X

  • Motorola & HTC are the KINGS, not Motorola is the king. Don't forget that HTC is a BIG competitor for Motorola. Motorola will have soon a Desire HD competitor, but HTC will make too big things. These 2 companies are great. There is no reason to buy an LG Android phone, or a Samsung Android phone(the Samsung Galaxy S lacks an LED flash) SE is left behind too.

  • Strange that Moto first released 3G phones with video call capability back in 2004, and even with the release of V9 in US, nobody in America ever seemed to care about video call. Only after certain "Face Time" feature is available from another American company, Americans then realize 3G phones support video call and suddenly everybody wants a phone with such feature. When the rest of the world already "played around" with video call for years but most deem such isn't being a useful feature. And somebody said the American designed Android OS wasn't designed for video call capable, and only Samsung has been able to "twist" around the OS and offer video call on its Android phones.

  • gsm network coming to u s a soon.

  • yes its is alot better thn any SE phone i have heard

  • Droid Pro CDMA & GSM, 1Ghz, Froyo Droid 2 Global Edition CDMA & GSM, 1.2Ghz, Froyo. To be launch by Verizon in November 11, 2010

  • What's wrong with moto. Why they releasing the 3g phone without a secondary camera. Come on moto make phones with secondary cam. otherwise samsung, htc, blackberry will occupy US market.

  • What's wrong with moto. Why they releasing the 3g phone without a secondary camera. Come on moto make phones with secondary cam. otherwise samsung, htc, blackberry will occupy US market.

  • Now, I'm happy because they is something to stand against the HTC Desir HD from Moto called Droid X SE means Second Edition which is Global edition like the Droid 2 Global Edition. Thanx Moto to be punching as high end phone for the world editions because now it's perfect coording the mobile wanted. Here the list of world edition phones from Moto: 1. Droid Pro WE, CDMA & GSM with 1Ghz, Froyo. 2. Droid 2 WE, CDMA & GSM with 1.2Ghz, Froyo. 3. Droid X WE, CDMA & GSM with 1.2Ghz, Froyo. Motorola is the King of android phones.

  • I think with the unlimited world of Android, plus internet + Youtube, one can pretty much forget about the "music" within the phone. I have about 4GB of music in my Milestone but I still haven't found the time to create any playlist, as I'm either on the Market, playing games, surf the net, Youtube, internet radio, almost everything else with music comes last on the list.

  • SE Walkman has very punchy bass, no music detail. If you try Milestone you will more music detail but less punchy bass. To me that the kind of music I want to hear. I use Milstone as multimedia when I am trvelling

  • This is a good question... The Walkman phones are for MUSIC, and this is not for music, but the Walkman series are dead more then a year. Maybe this is better then any Walkman phones.

  • how is the quality of music on milestone (speakers and headphones) ? is it better than a SE walkman? thanks a lot!

  • this is my next phone 100%

  • Motorola will announce a 1.2 GHZ CPU phone right? They will announce a Dual core CPU smart phone too. I like their strategy at making many smart phones.

  • i can't wait for this phone to come out. I need a new phone ASAP!!! come on Moto!!!

  • Droid Terminator is a image of a perfect Droid X because Droid T2 will not have a keyboard. Droid T2 will be a multimedia phone like Droid X according to rumor if Droid 2 world edition 1.2Ghz have keyboard why Moto will make the Droid T2 with keyboard as well but maybe it will let see.

  • That design seems to be ugly. By the way maybe that is a prototype, and not the final version.

  • I would definetely buy this if it has a 4 inch screen. But 3.7 makes me thinking. I 'm used to my 4 inch X10 screen and I thing it 's the perfect size for a smartphone (...but SE will never see my money again by the way). This is a good competitor to HTC dezire Z. Let's see what will happen.

  • Why Tv out is not there

  • the moto tegra2 will be a 8mp & video call super phone.will be soon, next year 2011.

  • What is this picture? Moto Droid Terminator? Anyway Moto Terninator is coming to AT&T and later to Verizon and other carriers.

  • At least moto shud have included radio

  • i'm so gonna get this phone when it release in my country :)

  • I agree with you. You are right. Now they are focusing at making world wide phones. You know that Samsung beats them last year, and now Motorola is changing that.

  • Always I knew that HTC is the number one now. As I said, I am a HTC and a Motorola fan now. I can clearly see that SE is late. The X10 still lacks an update. This phone will be available soon, and it has the newest edition.

  • Moto Droid Terminator may be release in november or december according to the new Moto MB860 that get WIFI certification. It seems AT&T will be the first to launch Moto Terminator 4G in holiday season and followed by Verizon a the first device to Verizon 4G capability.

  • First thing that jumps out from Tweetdeck data, is how far ahead of competition HTC is among Android makers. Its HTC Desire is the most popular Android phone, ahead from second place Motorola Droid X by almost 50%. In the top 20 of Android phones, 10 of them were made by HTC, compared to 4 each from Motorola and Samsung and 2 from Sony Ericsson. If we look at the market shares (by number of TDA users) in the top 20, HTC has 55.8%, Motorola 23.8%, Samsung 15.6% and Sony Ericsson 4.8%. Most of Samsungs phones in top 20, are specific carrier versions of Galaxy S. Sony Ericsson has only Xperia X10 in top 20, and it seems that X10 is a real hit in Japan And nowhere else. Total numbers of X10 SO-01 (Japanese version) with Tweetdeck is twice as big as Xperia X10i worldwide edition.

  • I can tell you why Motorola is focusing to gain more profit in their country. The reason is simple. Samsung beat them last year, and now they want to be again the number one. When they will be number one in America, then they will FOCUS on Europe too.

  • Yes Motorola has released a couple of high-end devices packing great features. But these phones were made exclusively for the US and a couple of other countryes. The first milestone took ages to be distributed around the world . Moto is doing very well in it's home country where the competition is firce and i hope this phone will be distributed around the world.

  • Okay here we have some news: Droid World edition reveled as ready to be announced. Droid Terminator or Droid T2 World edition with 2Ghz, Tegra 2, to be introduced with Google talk video a Gingerbread new featuring as the first device to run the Google OS Gingerbread 3.0 but Droid Terminator is not a exclusive Verizon product but a world phone that going to many carriers. It's seems like it's got WIFI certification already and may first be released to AT&T but Verizon choose to introduce it as the first 4G device. More More

  • gsm arena team please review this phone this is realy unique phone first rugged android in the world

  • are u creazy !! lol motorola have best design in the world mobile phone

  • Moto work according a deep study of where they can sell better and get profit. For being 100% on android OS, Moto choose first USA with 70% of android market, then ASIA in China and South Korea and the thrith Europe. They also target some countries like Brazil or India like one of the best Moto android buyer. And that was very good for device la Droid in America. But Moto already get stronger than before they change that way of working by releasing more world edition phones. Starting with Droid Pro WE, Droid 2 WE, even the Droid Terminator 2Ghz, Tegra 2 will not be a exclusive Verison device but Moto choose to work like Samsung on the Galaxy series by launching the phone in many carriers.

  • Well, Moto phones are not so cool in terms of design, but in terms of specs are good. All the Milestone phones are available in Europe, and the Droid series are available in America. I think that the Milestone series are for Asia too. :)

  • Moto produces very good phones...leaving aside the fact they won't win eny beauty price for their design there is a huge downside...their high end devices are only launched in a limited number of countryes... I hope they will change their policy....

  • Maybe. :)) I like more HTC and Motorola then SE.

  • you'll regret, without it. nice milestone2 features.

  • how is it that no one cares about moto locking the bootloader???? unless ur in the USA ur gonna be stuck with android 2.2 FOREVER

  • This is one of the best phone on the market!

  • They will kick you out the xperia forum if they see you here....hahahahahaha

  • Very interesting news! I can't wait to see that phone. :)

  • More news on Moto Tetra 2 Dualcore 2Ghz with Gingerbread.

  • If you want a free offline GPS solution on HTC or Moto with 2.1 open the link bellow. Now is working!

  • Sorry I don't know why it's not working but I will try for bing search open the first link result

  • This is for anybody have HTC or Moto android phone running 2.1 for offline navigator no data plan.

  • This about the Droid Terminator.

  • please note your links DO NOT WORK unless you remove the http:// part...

  • Some news about the Droid Terminator. The most important is that Droid Terminator will not be an exclusive Verizon phone but the phone will be a world phone CDMA & GSM for the rest you can read yourself here:

  • MobileMaster let me tell you that Moto is getting better and better. I'm sure that MotoNavi will be soon offline free navigator like OVI Map from Nokia. Nokia is the best about the offline navigator not HTC but Moto is only in India but will probably go to other countries. If you buy any android Moto phone or HTC with 2.1, you can get an offline GPS solution in the follow link.

  • You may check this one too.

  • See, this is the problem, ONLY a free trial for ONLY 60 days are available... This is what I am trying to say, that this isn't good. They should copy HTC. See the Desire, see the Nexus One, those phones have free data connections, but Moto lacks. :( I want to see all the Motorola phones to have free data connections world wide. HTC is wise, and they already have it. Many phones don't want to pay to use their GPS. I am such a person too. This is activated only in India, but I am living in Europe...

  • Motorola have free GPS Navigation with no dataplan or internet connection. But this only activated in India for now on MotoNavi. But for other country it's no fully free only the trial version that allowed you to navigate for 60 days. Moto have conflit with Google becouse of MotoNavi which in better than Google Map that need internet or dataplan. But for now India is the big exception, the only country that use MotoNavi Fully and No charge.

  • What is your opinion about the new Windows 7 phones and about the new Windows OS?

  • No my friend, all the HTC phones hace a free GPS navigation, and 0 Motorola phones with free GPS navigation as i saw on the reviews here in this site. You can check it too.

  • MobileMaster I know that HTC with windows got free offline GPS means no data plan by using the follow application NaviComputer. But HTC android phone with free GPS I don't think so except the Google services with dataplan like Google Map or other applications with dataplan. Moto have MotoNavi which is free for a short period of time and you must pay after the trial periode.

  • I can clearly see that Motorola is very good, better then SE. SE is good at making camera phones, but Motorola is very good at making smart phones. :) I really hope that the Milestone 2 and the Defy have FREE GPS navigation solution like all the HTC phones have.

  • I like the X10,s design, but the specs are outdated. The lack of MT, the lack of newer version of Android make me to leave them for a while. Now I am an HTC and a Motorola fan. And I am NOT joking. :) By the way I hope that the Milestone 2, Defy have a free GPS navigation solution.

  • well done moto

  • Look at Droid X featurings vs Desire HD Droid X best battery life 1540mAh, Internal Memory 6.5GB, More camera options, TV out HDMI, Cristal noise cancelling with 3 micro, 9.9mm, ...

  • You are welcome here MobileMaster. If you wanna know what Motorola is just check the top 10 android phone. You have noticed 3 Moto devices are on the top 10 with Droid X in the first position and the old Droid, Milestone still on the top 10. Here Moto beat HTC again. While x10 is on the 6th position.

  • voting so far so good, looks better than the others, and the higher rating too. i think this phone is dependable. the proof is there.

  • FRIENDS any news about secondary calling if no then what about video calling?

  • I have to admit that they are finally alive! And NOT just they are alive, they are good! I am really happy that they are not dead. Last year they almost got bankrupted. I am really happy for Motorola. :) I changed my mind, and I don't want to say anything bad about Motorola. :)

  • Really the world say that Motorola is better?? I don't really think. By the way I like them, but there is NO free GPS navigation solution for Moto phones. Example the Droid X is very good. I would like to see a review.

  • Why the hell are we fighting on Motorola & HTC..both are very good..but the world says that Motoroal is better..period !!

  • Some Motorola fans said that they will make the first 2 GHZ CPU phone. We will see this soon. If they will NOT make it as they promised, I will attack this forum really hard, like MANY Motorola fans attacked the SE X10 forum. Then we will see how you Moto fans will feel. I think this is the way to be fair. They mocked SE, then I will mock too Moto when I will see a mistake. :D This sounds good right?

  • Thank you very much awsrasool. I really appreciate your comment. I am happy that you are with me, I am happy that you know the truth. :)

  • What's your problem fanatic fan? You are jealous of HTC? Motorola will split up... What a shame, this is my opinion.

  • Cristal talk??? where have you been living??? you need to update your search skills, the droid, milestone, droid 2 have all been having bad call quality. This is a known fact. You need to look up the forums for smartphones (xda-developers) and you'll see the amount of ppl bashing the call quality, and low speaker volume for the new motorola phones... and to add to that, android is supposed to be an open system, yet motorola still choses to lock the bootloader... i love this phone and am waiting on it being released to get it... but the truth has to be told HTC is the king of smartphones at the moment, if you think otherwise then you need to use "google" a bit more

  • CPU Clock is not 1Ghz , its 1.2Ghz

  • Visit please that link I gave you. Thanks. If do you think that Motorola in overall is better then HTC you are WRONG! You will see soon, that HTC is the KING of smart phones, and I am an HTC fan now.

  • Smartphone experience? I wonder what HTC was doing (didn't even exist?) when Moto was making "smart" phones like A925/A1000 back in 2004/2005? And in terms of "phone" quality, HTC still can't match the Crystal Talk technology of Moto

  • Any idea on when this is releasing?

  • no front camera?! that meens no video calling?

  • HTC is getting better and better but their hardware is not top-notch. For example when you compare build quality (camera, speakers, touch display) of Nexus One and iPhone4 or Nokia N8 it is miles behind. I regret that because their specs are usually great...

  • Yes, I think that too! HTC is the BEST of the BEST! You are wise, choose HTC every time, and you will not regret it. Just think that they produce ONLY smart phones, this means that they have MORE experience then any other smart phone maker. :) Now I am an HTC fan. I was a SE fan, but now I am not really. Maybe I will be when they will announce their big guns in early November.

  • The battle of giants is just round the coner, I would like to test the Htc Desire HD, the Motorola Milestone 2, the Iphone 4, the Htc Desire Z and Nokia N8...who's gonna be the winner? difficult to say....but I think Htc Desire Hd......................

  • Unfortunately not front-camera otherwise it would be the best handset ever or the perfect smartphone,... next time Motorola , you are nearly there...next time.

  • Hurry up and come out!!! I can't wait much longer!!!

  • More Motorola for us but Droid Pro GSM & WCDMA took all my attention. Check here:

  • can anyone confirm the release date of October 18th?

  • Here the difference about all Droid 2 series: A955 original Droid 2 only CDMA no HD Video record, customize UI Ninjablur A956 Milestone 2 GSM & WCDMA World Edition HD Video record and Motoblur A957 Droid 2 R2-D2 only CDMA limited Edition no HD Video record, customize UI Starwar Droid Pro another Verizon device with Droid 2 look but world edition GSM & CDMA with 1.3 GHz processor, 4.0 Inch, videocall, probably HD Video record All Droid 2 series come with Froyo 2.2 As bonus of word editions, 2 other devices. • Droid 2 is CDMA and Milestone 2 is GSM. Hope you know the difference between CDMA system and GSM system?

  • droid 2 is not a gsm phone...first thing that says in the specifications

  • different in networks, GSM and CDMA.

  • what is difference between Droid 2 and Milestone 2 ? who can help me,please? i couldn't find something clear by comparison of their specification in this site!!!

  • Is this the gsm version of the droid 2? as in they are exactly the same?

  • Motorola announced that they will release this phone in Europe in Q4 2010, hopefully that means before Christmas!! I really really want this phone so bad!!!!! HELLO MOTO~

  • woaw this is the best in the world

  • I have been waiting for the gsm version of this phone since 1st sept 2010, gosh. I have seen what the droid 2 can do, pls do launch this phone earlier moto and at the same time for the UK, europe and asian regions. The only phone that combats with this is the HTC DesireZ which is launching end of october. But the desireZ is not as sleek and cool looking as the milestone 2.

  • Motorola and Verizon score Gingerbread exclusive Taylor Wimberly on Sep 22 at 2:48 am 86 comments Just like last year, Motorola and Verizon will launch a Droid phone for the holiday shopping season that will be the first device to feature a new version of Android. Motorola is ultra secretive when it comes to big product launches so I might have a few details that are slightly off, but they have left clues all over the place and I m just fitting the pieces together using my Android-powered brain and intel I ve gathered from my growing team of ninjas. This superphone, which Im calling the Droid T2, will be the first to ship with Gingerbread (most likely Android 2.5), the first to feature NVIDIA s dual-core Tegra 2 platform, and the first to offer 1080p video encode/decode. Users should also expect all the high end features found in the Droid X with the addition of a front-facing camera. Some of you may remember that Motorola Co-CEO Sanjay Jha boasted about delivering a 2 GHz phone in time for Christmas, but we recently discovered that was a slip of the tongue and he was actually referring to the two cores (clocked at 1 GHz each) found inside the Tegra 2 platform.

  • moto has launched something fresh ,the features are satisfying but the last but not least missing thing is secondary camera.i dont no why? u cannot make a video calling.

  • New Verizon devices coming soon: Motorola Venus (October) a mysterious Android Froyo smartphone with BlackBerry look and feel, QWERTY keyboard, 1GHz processor and global roaming capabilities Motorola Droid Pro (which could be the Droid 2 World Edition) should be launched in late October or early November The just-seen Samsung Continuum SCH-i400 is slated for late October The HTC Merge / Lexikon could also be available starting late October / early November The LG enV Pro should bring even more Android in November, featuring 1GHz processor and CDMA/ GSM connectivity The Motorola Stingray tablet may be out in the first quarter of 2011, apparently being based on Nvidias Tegra 2 platform and featuring Android 3.0 Gingerbread, 10 inch display, 16GB of internal memory, and the ability to support LTE

  • galaxy is plasticy !! even no camera shuter and no flash android 2.1 and hase lag in media galery no flash 10.1 and ... milestone 2 is the best of android phone motorola is king of android

  • milestone2 have speak to text, save my hand typing

  • sorry but galaxy s have 16gb with just 2gb of rom, milestone have 8Gb of rom !! lollllllllll

  • Looking for a competitor for this phone? Check out Samsung Galaxy S I9000 :) Advantages of Milestone 2 from Galaxy S: - Qwerty keyboard - dual-LED flash - a little bit smaller in size Advantages of Galaxy S from Milestone 2: - super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen - 16 GB internal memory (Milestone 2's: 8 GB only) - FM radio

  • You have arcmedia and rockplayer beta to read all format and is for free :D Milestone rocks, htz desire is good but not better than this phone.

  • Desire Z has nothing to do with this beast

  • Moto has been doing good job of late of introducing the best of line phones however, they need to cover up fast else they will face same fate what sony ericsson and Nokia are facing because they are far behind. Further, Moto should look to make their video player versatile like samsung wave/galaxy s which can play almost any format whether MKV/AVI/XVID/DIVX or even VOB files. Plus it requires a bit of working on screen ratio i.e. if length of phone is reduced by quarter or half centimeter and increse width, browser and movie experience will be better and start using AMOLED/SUPER AMOLED screen because sunlight legibility of all moto phones is a concern. Last but not least better energy management and higher capacity battery.

  • Moto should speed up to release this phone. Competing giants from LG, HTC, Nokia will release soon their top models. Esp HTC with Desire Z. Moto, can hardly wait for your phone any longer.

  • Motorola needs to release this phone ASAP as competiting models might come up very soon from HTC & Samsung and thereby they loose mind share & market share too !!

  • In my opinion, it's better for Motorola to release this phone as soon as possible especially now that it's unrivaled. Can't wait to get my hands on this thing! :)

  • Between motorola milestone 2 and htc desire z,which one should i buy?? - Milestone 2 :)

  • Just got thru few sites. They r stating (may be guessing) an expected indian launch in december at 30k approx. Hope the words r true, n the wait over!

  • Froyo 2.2 DOES allow you to save and run applications from the SD card. It works for most of the applications I've used on my Droid. Settings>Applications>Manage Applications, select an application then press "Move to SD card".

  • please review this super smartphone unrivaled munster android come on gsmarena review more motorola phone they are realy great phones today

  • Must have one! I've waited a long time for a phone like this. I almost bought the first Milestone, I'm glad I waited!! Launch it already Motorola!

  • I think would understand the difference in Android OS1.5, 1.6, 2.1 and 2.2 . Do you get it? My Android Desire was already upgraded to OS 2.2. Okay? I am not talking about software problem but phone's performance problem as far as such ad Desire had a problem with 3G dropping off most of times, or Samsung Galaxy S was freezing or lagging a lot compare to Desire.

  • se x10 is android os 1.6 that's why? but milestone is powerful v 2.2 froyo. got it?

  • I use many different Android OS such as HTC Hero, legend, Desire, SE X10 and latest Samsung S Galaxy. I run to problem with all kind of different reasons. I use iPhone 4 and BB 9800 and very happy. But do not mind try this new Milestone by Moto. Maybe know how to do better. My worst Android was SE X10.

  • this is a power solid device

  • I compared the Motorola Milestone 2 with the HTC Desire Z and the Milestone 2 is better in my opinion.

  • Go for the Milestone 2..No doubts on that

  • i like desire z but milestone 2 is more powerfull and big memory for applications and longer battery. maybe i test desire z first for one or two mond and in second time milestone 2 certenly !

  • Between motorola milestone 2 and htc desire z,which one should i buy??

  • moto please release this phone already!!!

  • this is so going to be my next phone!!! I can't wait!!!

  • No,you can only download applications on the internal memory. This is common for all mobile brands.

  • you can buy this mobile in many places now for abour £400 so can check

  • No facing camera yes but it will not fail because milestone 1 did not fail

  • Does Android Froyo allow applications to be saved and run on MicroSD cards?

  • No front facing camera? FAIL!!!

  • fcuk tour playstation

  • i love u moto

  • Check out there is an article about O2 in germany with the price in Euro and the date of release (End of October). Its the only data I've found on release date/price.

  • If this ends up being the "Droid 2 Global" thats being leaked, then the processor will be an ARMv7 1.2Ghz with 512MB RAM. Froyo 2.2 with Motoblur.

  • Would really like to know a bloody release date now and which networks will offer the phone (if any).

  • Check out you will find the detailed specifications

  • Technical specs missing, like processor type, RAM?, and has no radio, desire z has it, think of buying Desire Z

  • Late for you. Not everybody come one.

  • Motorola is a bit late in releasing this announced phone. HTC will release its HTC Desire Z, so great. Expectedly it will be available on shelf worldwide begining October. I may change to buy HTC desire Z if can not wait for Milestone 2.

  • Hopefully in the 1st Qtr of 2011...need to figure out the price point that Motorola is going to put for it..

  • this phone is realy unrivaled compare with high end nokia smartphone in this class well done moto

  • I think I should trade my phone into this Xperia X2 to this phone is gonna me good... actually my phone sucks because its slow

  • perfect design top unique features , high display res

  • In this video I take a first look at two upcoming Android smartphones for Verizon Wireless, the Motorola Droid Pro and the Motorola Droid 2 World Edition. The Droid 2 World Edition likely will be nearly identical to the standard Motorola Droid 2 only with GSM roaming capabilities allowing it to be a world phone. The Motorola Droid Pro is a bit different as it will have a 4 inch display as well as a 1.3Ghz processor making it one of the fastest phones available. The Droid Pro also likely will have world phone capabilities and should be available in November. Droid 2 and Droid Pro world editions coming in november

  • Last I heard Samsung is holding back all the AMOLED display only for its own phones...hence even HTC needs to switch back to S-LCD. Though I also do wish video call can be added to Milestone series. Afterall, Motorola first offered video call capable phones back in 2004 already.

  • Milestone 2 will be available (officially) in Hong Kong, and all phones in HK (including iphones) are unlocked.

  • Motorola Milestone 2 rocks!!However wish to have AMOLED display technology along the Secondary Video for 3G vidoe calls,,hope it upgrade in Motorola Milestone 3.. :))

  • Hi . I leave in Jakarta I bought Motorola Milestone since it was released in March this year. I bought Milestone from Indosat. Now I put in Sipati Card. I have no problem. Other word Motorola Milestone is unlocked phone. Hope Milestone 2 will be unlocked phone as well. I plan to by Milstone 2 when it is released. You will not regret using this phone

  • Hi . I leave in Jakarta I bought Motorola Milestone since it was released in March this year. I bought Milestone from Indosat. Now I put in Sipati Card. I have no problem. • personaly I dont need radio, "TuneIn radio" in android market is super !

  • Why on such high-end phone there is no FM RADIO!!! Hey Motorola you are joking at us!!!!!!!! Please review this phone! Consider if it's possible to turn on the fm radio functionality while reviewing the phone, ok?

  • Well when it will be released in my country(indonesia)? How about the price? I actually use iphone 3gs and dont want to buy the new gen of iphone, aka iphone 4, as it costs USD 1250, so expensive. I need something new and suggest moto is the best way oya, is motophone need some exclusive-gsm carrier as iphone did in my country? Could i choose the carrier by myself? Plis help me thank you GBU

  • Still no video call or whatsoever?

  • this is realy unrivaled please review this super phone gsmarena review

  • this is the best choice for me...

  • wow, almost 9.0 score. time to buy. can't miss it, folks

  • best battery android

  • unrivaleddddddddddddddddddddddddd this is best android in the world

  • awsooooooooome monster

  • Droid X, Droid 2 have best Android battery life. The very bottom of the list was reserved for Samsung's Galaxy S devices, which are hit pretty hard with bad battery consumption. The test reaffirms Motorola as the undisputed leader in Android. It has clearly mastered the OS infrastructure and has been able to create phones with good ergonomics and marketability. Source:

  • Its heaver then galaxy but with slide keyboard its ok the only thing that we need to know is the stand-by time and if its about 350-400 then its a mighty phone

  • What are you talking about?? This has 512 Mb of Ram, Android 2.2 FroYo.

  • how much ram does it have?? why don't they publish that? the android 3 will need atleast 512 mb

  • it have the best HD

  • moto for ever well done moto

  • For Milestone X, it's different becauce Droid X is absolutly CDMA for USA not even for CDMA China which have sim card while in USA not need of any sim card. Verizon on Droid familly mean Droid, Droid X, Droid 2 use CDMA as you say can't be use in Europe for example. But Milestone, Milestone XT720, the upcoming Milestone 2 and Defy can be use in USA but not on Verizon. Cellular South in USA got Milestone but not Droid. Here Milestone still wanted even in USA Now Bluegrass released Milestone. So believe me Milestone 2 will go to USA and the most important Droid 2 doesn't have HD Video but Milestone 2 does. Many carriers in USA will ask for it. Moto knows 70 % of android market share is in USA then China second, Europe 3th. That why Moto make more phone CDMA or WCDMA for USA and China but it seems like verizon and Moto want to make CDMA and GSM version directly for world wide.

  • Here my I'm going to explain. 1. This is the link of Moto XT720 with full specifications. The most important is "WAN VOICE BANDS" it's says GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and W-CDMA 1700/2100 XT720 has 1700 MHz 3G support means it can also go for T Mobile Anyway the link above show Moto XT720 in USA released by Cincinnati Bell with the same specifications. Here the link shows XT720 able to go to T Mobile with WCDMA 1700Mhz You are important in Moto forum and I like you. Even if Moto's fans in this forum don't make friends but like to bash on X10 forum. PS: I respect the way you post comment here just friendly do the same for me as well. Thanx for your reply.

  • Guess you got confused about WCDMA (the GSM based 3G) vs. the CDMA (used by Verizon), suggest you do some more research on Google what they are about. A phone supporting WCDMA does NOT work on CDMA network like those of Verizon, and vice versa. As if so, the ROW would not beg Moto to release Milestone X, as they could of get Droid X and use "WCDMA"...

  • Just curious, why the most important thing about a cell phone isn't being the CLEAR VOICE QUALITY? (as Moto leads the industry with its Crystal Talk technology(

  • i realy wish moto released dx for world wide anyway i very like m2 and defy

  • SO Moto is the big Galaxy competitor! :D I hope that the Droid X will hit the European markets soon. By the way you live in America?

  • Yes Moto get a new ways of working. Truely Samsung doing well in USA but not for long because Moto got better devices than Galaxy Series. The Droid familly with Droid, Droid 2, Droid 2 D2R2 special edition, Droid X which is out of stock but for the first day it went out of stock, Moto manage to sold 350 000 Droid X which is good because the original Droid only sold 300 000 in 2 weeks. And Droid X will get Froyo in september that will reboot the sell of this wanted device. Droid 2 is doing well and claimed to be the most stable device that people don't return after they buy it. In addition Verizon and Moto have the special edition D2R2 with unknow specs that also highly wanted but for strategy Moto sell first the normal Droid 2 and will launch the Droid D2R2 later. No word for now about Milestone 2 in USA but I believe Cellular South will get Milestone 2 because they have the Milestone 1 for the simple reason Droid belong to Verizon but as I said Milestone 2 got HD Video and will attract some Droid lovers for that option. Milestone 2 is now available on the official's Motorola web site mean soon it will be release. I hope Milestone 2 and Defy will be a real success in Europe and in the reste of the world.

  • I am really happy, that USA has many Motorola phones. Now they will be or they are on the first position(in USA, in America). I read a few months ago, that Samsung dominated America. If Moto will continue to make high-end Android smart phones, they will be number one in America again. They made the Droid X to beat Samsung. First they focused on their country, on their continent, and now they focus at amking high-end phones 4 Europe too. :D

  • nokia not a threat you will see when meago comes out and the n9

  • important things for the cell phone, only few things" (1) speaker (2)camera w dual led flash & video (3)adobe flash (4)android v 2.2 Froyo (5) BLUETOOTH, IT'S ALREADY WORTH MONEY.

  • Forget that man about that number. Look, do you know that Moto made the Milestone 2 not GSM only? The Milestone 2 is also compatible to CDMA. Here: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 W-CDMA 900/2100 or 850/1900/2100 Just like Milestone 1 that was released by Cellular South one of the biggest network provider in USA. That why Moto sell more Droid 1 and Milestone 1 together have been more the 2 millions devices. Mean that Milleston 2 will also go to USA later. So Moto will have. Droid 2 original, Milestone 2 HD video, Droid 2 D2R2 best design and maybe some more featurings. Let see what will happen.

  • I always loved Motorola. and all my motorolas are still with me. My v3i, v3xx and my v6 maxx. All of them still working and fine! No doubt I'll be buying milestone 2.

  • n8 is just king of camera phone . -- king of smartphone is here : milestone 2 --- this is enough for compare 1ghz against 660mhz - lol and . . .

  • You replied that 666 person?? This is what I wanted to say earlier. By the way I added you on Email. :)

  • Verizon has it already it'll be uniform

  • Im sorry but Nokia are not a threat. They dont use Andriod so they aint going anywhere. The N8 will bomb.

  • Moto should speed up the sale of MS 2. Or else, it will lose its market share to other giants of Nokia, LG with great smartphones to be launched. Do not let your fans wait too long Moto.

  • You are a Christian right? Here is my Youtube name(Soulblaighter) Reply me there plz. Thanks.

  • too heavy :(

  • The GPRS & EDGE for Motorola Milestone 2 is Class 10 whereas for the earlier Milestone is much better with Class 12 for both GPRS & EDGE...though the industry standard is Class 32 currently.

  • Can anybody KINDLY CONFIRM the HSDPA & HSUPA Speeds of Motorola Milestone 2...thanks in advance!

  • Why dont most companies keep a front videocall cam. even in their excellent phone?? isnt that necessary if it has 3G? still the phones are good in the market and in reviews! Why is it so?

  • what is the hsdpa & hsupa speeds..?

  • Kindly confirm the HSDPA & HSUPA Speeds of Motorola Milestone 2..?...thanks in advance. Note: The GPRS & EDGE for Motorola Milestone 2 is Class 10 whereas for the earlier Milestone is much better with Class 12 for both GPRS & EDGE.

  • I hope the keyboard is beta than the orig Milestone - Might actually use it then, tho not if Swype turns out to be any good! Why have Moto taken a step back with regards to the specs on the Droid X? They now need to do a Milestone 3 with those specs (big screen, beta camera, etc!.

  • HSUPA, 5.76 Mbps specifications are not complete ;)

  • The earlier Milestone has GPRS Class 12,EDGE Class 12 & 3G HSDPA of 10.2 Mbps and HSUPA of 5.76 Mbps whereas for Milestone 2 its GPRS Class 10,EDGE Class 10 & 3G HSDPA of ?? without HSUPA !!...Appreciate valuable comments on the same..thanks in advance

  • Looks a lot like Nokia's N900 only better

  • the best in the world android 2.2 and ............. well done moto and gsmarena please review this super smartphone soon thx gsmarena

  • still tft screen? guess i'll get it if upgradeable to gingerbread..

  • Are you sure your phone is a Milestone 2? I don't think the phone's out on the market yet.

  • hey guys. i need a lil bit of help here. i cant seem to boot up my milestone2. after i power on the phone, it'll just reboot just as when the "ANDROID" logo appears. someone help me? appreciate it!

  • Hey Moto good call on the keyboard, now just make sure you actually keep the framerate on that hd video. And less grain in low light can help too. Anyway I'm buying it!

  • 5MP but HD record, Froyo out of the box, 8GB internal and 8GB on SD mean 16GB, Flash Play 10.1 out of the box, 3G Spot connect up to 5 devices, Ram 512MB, 1Ghz CPU, this are already big improvement compare to Milestone 1. But you sound like a Samsung fan.

  • No radio? Lcd? Same resolution? Just improved video res? No hdmi? No secondary cam? 5mp still?

  • Your welcome me friend......

  • veeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeery well this is realy unrivaled

  • Just WOW... Awesome, must have this one...

  • no problem flash 10.1 player is here

  • no radio!!!

  • 720p is 1280x720 pixels

  • oh god this is realy unrivaled

  • i thought 720p was 720x480 pixels?

  • hhmmm... i don't really know the point of video calling. i actually do not know a single person who uses it. the majority of the people i know text and some call.

  • why dont have sec. camera..........wat about video calling?

  • thankful moto

  • For those people who won't buy the Milestone 2 just because it doesn't have FM radio, I feel sorry for you. You're missing the bigger picture here :) But wait.. I read a reply to one of the comments in this video: ===== all90killers: does it have FM radio? motorola: yes it does, along with a nifty connected media player that pulls down lyrics to your songs along with some other tricks for you to explore. ===== Anyways, with or without FM radio, I will definitely buy this phone :)

  • It's the BEST smart-phone Motorola had ever made. Keep up Motor.

  • You like Moto phones just add www on this "wwwery.com/7185-motorola- droid-r2-d2-dock-unlocked-revealed- verizon-wireless.html" and copy & paste R2D2 is so beautifull

  • yes i must change my original milestone with this one thx moto for 1ghz cpu - 512ram and INTERNAL MEMORY

  • this phone is so hot woaaw

  • I change all my plans android for this phone i want one

  • Multimedia test: Super AMOLED vs. AMOLED vs. LCD Weve had a ton of touchscreen technology thrown at us in the past year hell, in the past several months. Weve gone from LCD (liquid crystal display) to OLED (organic light-emitting diode) to AMOLED (active matrix OLED) to the brand-new Super AMOLED, which we saw debuted at Mobile World Congress in February. Each has its merits. OLED and AMOLED have been notoriously not great outdoors, as well as hard to come by of late, leading to handset shortages. LCD is tried and true and more readily available, but can it stand up to the new Super AMOLED, which promises even better battery life and less reflectivity outdoors? After the break, we perform an unscientific test: Find the best light show this side of Pink Floyd, plop it on the Evo 4G, Nexus One, Droid X and Samsung Captivate, and see what we can see.

  • Last I heard Samsung will reserve all AMOLED screens to its own products, and future HTC phones will not have AMOLED. So what do you want Moto do? Buy up Samsung?

  • you are so funny... 720p is 1280x720. 5MP is 2592x1936 est. 5MP is more then capable to do 1080p then alone 720p. 1080p = 1920x1080

  • I don't know how they will manage 720p recording with 5MP camera, I guess its the 1GHz processor.. any idea about the price range and expected month of release in Delhi, India..

  • really like dat look of this phone i think everyone should get it!

  • best choice best of best this is realy unrivaled

  • do you ever use milestone 2 that assessment about battery life or keyboard of this phone !! you are big jealous

  • Its right for tft and amoled

  • I'm pretty sure an AMOLED touchscreen's sunlight legibility is worse than a TFT touchscreen. But AMOLED touchscreen do use less battery which is good.

  • I am sure Moto is determined to make a mark but they need to work towards making things impressive and full. I have used Milestone 1 and major drawbacks are - Very poor battery back-up (with push email and calls of an hour in day, it could not finish 24 hours) - Very poor sunlight legibility - Using keypad is not easy and comfortable - Video player cannot run divx/xvid, WMV and mkv files etc. Moto should have either used AMOLED display or increased brightness to take care of sunlight issue. Keypad design seems improved and larger with that D PAD removed (will see how good it is once it is in market. Moto already getting feedback of poor battery back then why it did not consider putting in a 1800 MHA unit. Plus Android, need to consider putting an all format player in its phones like SAMSUNg. I used GALAXY S and the only thing i missed is PHYSICAL QWERTY KEYBOARD else this is the best phone on planet. With 4 inch super AMOLED battery lasts more than 2 days. Plays almost all media formats, screen is a delight to watch. I hope Sanjay Jha would be listening and seriously work to improve the hardware quality of MOTO that is where problem lies.

  • this is realy awsome phone best benchmark best features and best design

  • Understand the advantages of water "proof" handsets. Though I'm curious, would anyone ever try to talk under water?

  • Overall I do like CDMA technology, though the ability to swap SIM cards among phones is actually an advantage for many. Partly ROW mostly uses GSM. Hence as much as I like DroidX, I didn't get one this past July because it would be useless overseas. I was able to get the (good) old Cliq, coz I got the phone unlocked and now I'm using it (and still love it, despite I'm also using Milestone).

  • Just curious, what's wrong with MotoBlur? I live in HK and Moto here "purposely takes out" the MotoBlur function. This past July I got a Cliq in US with MotoBlur, and my wife couldn't get her hands off...despite the size and weight.

  • I m tech freak, i knw every each mobile, i would cry for ths mbile, itz the best featured and designed mobile i have ever seen. believe me it will hit the market higher than samsung galaxys.

  • Moto is samsung competitor not nokias Come on moto beat samsung

  • Hello, can you turn MotoBlur off?! Thanks. I prefer the DROID 2 & DROID X UI's. Why do we get the MotoBlur UI over here in Europe? arrgh lol

  • guys this the nokia N900 is anytime better than MILESTONE 2, only we missed multitouch in N900. otherwise N900 is better than this phone.

  • For those people who won't buy the Milestone 2 just because it doesn't have FM radio, I feel sorry for you. You're missing the bigger picture here :) But wait. Check out this reply on one of the comments in this video --> It says... ===== all90killers: does it have FM radio? motorola: @all90killers yes it does, along with a nifty connected media player that pulls down lyrics to your songs along with some other tricks for you to explore. ===== Anyways, with or without FM radio, I will definitely buy this phone :)

  • swim and call pp....lolz

  • its Navy Blue, not black

  • LOOKS GREAT... unfortunately there is no radio

  • if you like water resistant you must buy frog from pet shop you dont need 2 buy phone

  • Okay (1) Maemo 5 ne N900. Look at sales. Look at the Moto Droid's sales record. Market leader. NO contest. MOTO wins. HANDS down. (2) Look at the sheer speed MOTO has come out with INNOVATIVE Android units. Not 2nd rate mid-tier either. ( this company is quite serious ) Droid X, Drois 2, AND 17 OTHER Android units. All in 1 yr. For further comment look at Time Magazin awarding the Milestone / Droid Gadget of the year. OMG P.S. The Defy IS water resistant, but to a depth equaling 3 ft. It is also resistant to the hazards of dropping as well.

  • i love the design, it reminds me off my LG GM730 few months later, very beautiful hand phone but awful performance. have to get one......

  • Oh yeah, dam its not water resistant. I'm not interested in this phone anymore. Back to waiting for the N8 then for me (imagine if that bad boy was waterproof....)

  • i cant see any rivaled for this super phone !?

  • this greatest android in the market

  • Droid 2 only has 480p video recording. - DVD quality (720x480 resolution) up to 30 fps capture It's GSM version... Milestone 2 has 720p video recording. - Yep. 100% positive about this. :) HD. ;) up to 30 fps capture

  • Sorry to disappoint you but Milestone 2 is NOT water resistant. If you want a water resistant smartphone, wait for Motorola Defy :)

  • Dude. You're wrong. Milestone 2 is Droid 2 (not Droid X) GSM version. :)

  • I have a milestone, and its one of the best handsets ever had, i cant wait for the milestone 2 to come out, so i can upgrade, so motorola hurry up

  • Yes they do, the CDMA version of the phone is better, a little lighter and thinner too. This is because CDMA handsets dont need a silly SIM card slot.

  • I have the following unsolved problems with Milestone 1 : 1. The voice cracks to the listener. All of my listeners complained. 2. Suddenly the SIM is not recognised 3. Enormous heat develops while talking The Customer complaint was never cared for. Otherwise the phone is excellent except the basic function it is intended for. I would recommend all the buyers of Milestone 1 & 2 to check these aspects before making a purchase decision

  • Japanese manufacture water proof phones, not just resistant. You could use the phone underwater. But it's an improvement to see that western phone manufacturers are now trying to provide us the feature we needed. Not just increased processors, OS update, bigger pixel resolution, and all that crap an average smartphone user never really cared about. In short, no real innovation, since camera phone is invented. You know what else motorola could add? How bout a shockproof body? I don't like a piece of iphone gorilla glass which can be broken by just a 3 feet fall. I want a phone to last. N8 comes close.

  • Dude samsung galaxy S doesn't have a flash, divx and other formats issue solved by android market many apps to make them works perfectly,we get also crystal talk, low price, moto blur.every company has its wining strategy so go to samsung forums!

  • Great phone with gr8 spec, let see what result it brings out......

  • Gud toy bt needs to be updated wid a better screen atleast 720...i need one

  • no hdmi

  • Moto was one of the first to offer video calling capability with its A920/A925 back in 2004, at the time the "connecting people" brand didn't even know how to connect people face to face.

  • droid 2 only has 480p recording. milestone 2 has 720p? u sure?

  • Last I heard Samsung has reserved AMOLED to its own phones, and future HTC products will NOT get AMOLED anytime soon either. I don't doubt the quality of AMOLED, though Moto also offers Crystal Talk which can't be matched by Samsung or any other so called "phone" brand either.

  • Americans already get Droid 2 (running on CDMA), right?

  • 2 simple things - Crystal Talk, price and probably MotoBlur Crystal Talk technology makes a phone being a REAL PHONE. Don't think any Galaxy S costs as "little" as Milestone. And Motoblur...anything similar from Samsung?

  • No xenon flash, no secondary camera, no radio, no xvid/divx player... I wonder how moto will compete with samsung's android?

  • Has anything been said about it working with T-Mobile's 3g Network???? I NEED this in my life, but the first MIlestone didn't work with their 3g...just EDGE

  • MILESTONE 2 is the Euro version of the US DROID 2 Euro doesn't have a direct model to the DROID X yet,

  • Nice! Would of liked to have had the standard Android UI with Motorola's widgets (like DROID Version), not the MotoBlur though. Motorola are getting there! Now they just need to release a Euro Version of the DROID X!! lol. Going to have to wait for other phones up and coming,to be released so I can start to decide which one to get lol

  • Milestone 2 is Droid X gsm version, do u know how to distinguish between cdma and gsm?

  • well done motorola im realy happy today even more happy than my birtday. i love u moto and please released droid x too for gsm version

  • I'm liking what I see. I've been patiently waiting for the nokia n8 for ages without even really looking at the competition but this has turned my head. Its WATER RESISTANT!! do you know how long I've wanted a water resistant smart phone!? which ever phones comes out first in the UK out of these to I will get

  • Waited for a long tym, i guess i phone 4 should make the run, with its tail between its legs....

  • which one is beter guys radio or flash player -- come on this is 2010

  • n9 ! n9 against this monster is nothing its just have camera

  • I like the design of this phone, think it looks much cooler then the original milestone. Keep it up motorola.

  • Excellent move fromMotorola that brings joy and happiness to its fans. It is the phone we have been waiting for long. Thanks Motorola.

  • No FM radio? Sad..

  • has 512mb ram..plz +to specs..

  • N9 killer :)

  • Cöol

  • Yeah I agree with you. I have the N900 and the original Droid with Android 2.2 and 10.1 flash installed. The N900 is alot better at handling the flash and the experience all around is alot better.

  • Why does it have a TFT Capacitive Touchscreen and not an AMOLED Capacitive Touchscreen??? AARRGGGHHHH!!! I would definitely get it if it had an AMOLED touchscreen...now I have to think about it... :/

  • still adobe flash 10.1 not better in andriod already experiance in nexus one not good like nokia n900 so i go for meego lol!

  • why are people so obsessed with 8mp camera??? whats the point? there's no way you can tell the difference between 5mp and 8mp. plus i've seen 2mp cameras take better photos than some 12mp cameras! its not all just numbers, its how the camera works that counts!

  • Very nice device. I am the first! But no joking, I am honest. Being here all the time, this one will be on match again with the best. Wave, Galaxy S, and above all, BlackBerry Torch with hard querty. Nice straight design ;-)))

  • I agree. This should have had amoled at bare minimum. Then I would be sold for sure.

  • LOve ths phone moto plzzz launched it soon plzz...

  • awsome monster and realy unrivaled

  • Radio, Radio..............? 8 megapixel camera ?

  • Awesome Motorola smart phone! Motorola is doing a great job. I hope I can post my comment. :)

  • hdmi? droid 2 has it, hope this one has one too

  • best of best android 2.2 woaw

  • motorola tft is much beter than other brands amoled believe me

  • y no radio ?

  • moto should have done it with amoled ( id not super amoled) though..

  • congratulation

  • thank u moto i realy love u your new phone are the best in the world

  • what a nice phone motor release please

  • i prefer flash 10.1 than radio divx player is avaliable with sofware and player - this is my next phone 100000%

  • no problem digit is not important nice 5mp is much beter than poor 8mp even iphone 4 has 5mp camera this is best smartphone in the world

  • Motorola what happen to you no secondary camera no video call. Why pay so much for this phone to type with physical keypad. What a joke.

  • welllllllllllll done motorola

  • the screen size is 3.7"??

  • WOW! Impressive specs and captivate look made this phone a must have. really surprised,Moto truly deserves best with this phone even without including nice and great specs it's shapes already made me mad!

  • Why can't companies like motorola release a phone like this with an 8megapixel camera? Is it that hard? However i have to say i like this phone, but i'm waiting for for an android froyo phone with 8mp and qwerty keyboard. Until then i'll stick to my google nexus

  • No radio, no DivX, no front camera... and too heavy, 169g., Android! . This phone not for me.

  • QWERTY keyboard - MOTOBLUR UI with Live Widgets - Multi-touch input method - Accelerometer sensor for UI auto-rotate - Proximity sensor for auto turn-off - Swype input method Internal 8 GB MP, 2592х1944 pixels, autofocus, dual-LED flash Features Geo-tagging, image stabilization Video Yes, 720p@30fps Secondary No Features OS Android OS, v2.2 (Froyo) CPU 1 GHz processor oooooooh this is god of smartphone

  • wow this is best in the wooooooooooolrd

  • hope it comes to spain then.its been a while since motorola sent good devices my way.

  • I need it plzzz launch it fast.........

  • Full respect to Motorola. Just Hello Moto

  • Still no front camera, why oh why Motorola? Have you got something against video calling..?

  • i want it .....i love it

  • yes.. hope it will be release in my country asap

  • ooooooooooooh god thanks

  • finally!!! milestone 2 = better than droid 2 >:)

  • Not up to my expectations, still NO qwerty available with xenon+8MP

  • no big difference with older one that could have 1ghz and hd since beginning

  • No2

  • this phone is much better than the older milestone, that scrolling pad was no use, motorola wasted time on the first milestone.
