I am using this from more than a year, it is nice and superb phone, important matte is that it never get hanged and it comes up with 02 batteries so it never keep you down, only one problem in the set is it's signal reception is so poor.

This phone is very attractive and the handwriting recognition works amazing. It takes very good pictures and synchronizes with outlook very easily. The only problem, you miss calls. I have had this phone for about 7 months and am extremely aggravated that I paid $400 CAD for a phone that does not receive calls. If you go anywhere near a basement you have no reception. If you want a PDA, buy this phone, but if you want a phone, get anything else.

yes u can record the conversation very well...asssign any short-cut key 4 voice recorder as it will b handy..but the recording snapps as any other call comes in..its 1 of the best stylyish phone i used...gret choice 4 office end phones without pinching pocket..but camera is not the best,..minus the flash..even worse..

I just bought one of the last i718s in the shops as a smaller/lighter replacement for my three year old O2Xda II Mini - same processor but more memory and better functions, camera etc. The O2 was excellent but I dropped it one too many times.... The Samsung seems even better and it was a bargain at less than US$300 (with an extra battery with its own charger/carry case). The screen tap response time is the same as the O2 and faster than the HTC Touch, which was my other option. I had Wifi sdio on the O2 but I never used it so the better processor speed on this Samsung was preferrable to the HTC. Plus the vibe-touch is excellent ! As the review here says, it's a shame it doesn't work for the qwerty keys too. Anyway, great phone if you don't need Wifi etc.

Yes, edit and view word and excel files, but only Office 2003 version. Documents created by new Office only open if you convert to 2003 version. ;)

THIS PHONE IS GREAT! i just got it today! TIGHT FEATURES *themed wallpaper is animated based on service (good service= clear skies, bad service=Cloudy skies)birds fly during the day and commits during the night.. - and changes on location e.g. USA has the statue of liberty. or like europe would prolly have the leaning tower or something as a wallpaper.. *radio shows what song is playing on the station. artist name and song title * has a flashlight * lots of internal memory * has all the basic features a normal samsung but has more options. -ringtone alarms can be music, stock tones, or dl sounds. * camera is average. but that doesnt matter cuz i have a digi cam. * speakers are pretty loud. overall this phone has cool features and a fantastic design. light weight, thin and smooth slider. the ONLY CON that i ran into so far is the middle 'I' button.. sometimes it gets in the way of scrolling. since its elevated i sometimes push it on accident. >> i will soon post a video on this phone and it's features soon

Someone said this has no 3G or EDGE...WRONG! It has EDGE and GSM band 850 supports 3G and above. I am currently on NEXTG in Australia which is three times faster than 3G!!!

yes but for all pda they work slow but if you compare to samsung i600 they work very slow if you see his processeur about 400 mhz you see the difference no wifi and no 3g your battery will be more alive i have a programm that you can control the start up programm but if you compare with other pda more fast and very sexy phone

I tried to get this phone through Popular Electronics.....what an ordeal.....first they said it was stuck in some shipping facility then after weeks of going back and forth they called to say they had it in, were testing it and I'd have it in 3 days. Later I got an email cancelling my order and refunding my money. When I called to find out why, they said that the phone was in French and that they could not, despite working directly with Samsung, change the language to English. I'm disappointed because I really was interested in getting it. I guess now, I'll wait or look at the HTC Kaiser which just came out.

You want help u got it ! In order to fix time delay u need patch from Samsung or a program(SynchroTime)that updates time.... Patch from Samsung (ha-ha-ha) good luck no body knows when it will come out On the other hand basic prog that updates time. BUT u need web/internet settings couse ONLY via internet on your phone u can run it. I got web settings and installed program now there is another problem u have to manualy run it in ordet to fix time delay Now i am looking for program that will automaticaly update time so please be patient i just need a little bit more (time) any questions or suggestions ?!,

Its simple just download a program that have an alarm clock. most of them will display clock on today screen. Do u have mms/web settings for Cingular/AT&T?

i got the fix for time loose problem and it WORKS no bs! BUT the only way u can have itis to get me 2 things #1. mms settings cingular/att for i718 #2. web setting cingular/att for i718 and dont forget to include step by step how to do it.

its memory is too little it crashes alot and you have to keep on restarting the handset every time it does, i had this problem with i750, and there it goes again here, otherwise it's a great device

I noticed with the time delay issues, if you turn the phone itself off from the Wireless manager (so all other functions but the phone is operating), once you set the time it will be able to "stick". Of course, once you turn the phone back on, you start getting the delay again...wierd, eh?!

hey V Well I bought this phone for my wife, I bought it from Hongkong website about 2 wks ago I dont think u can get 1 in USA. My wife and I love it. It's not that big very thin and light, I love it but the clock mess up I have to reset it daily. The battery life is not that good(dont even talk about 8.5 hrs). I only make phone call and put in sleep mode set battery save mode change bright into very low, and it takes 2 bars each day and must recharge daily. If i watch video with it I dont think it can stand for 1 hr.

Like I said, I'm going to sell the HTC P3600 for this, and yes all because its thinner and looks damn good! I dnt use 3G or WiFi as I have an unlimited web n walk plan with t-mobile, so all I need for that is GPRS! I'm still going to be able to do all the things that I normally do with my HTC P3600! Just face it buddy, there's a market out there for this device.

This phone looks so cool and at just 13.5 mm's in thickness who cares what it looks like? I have a P3600 and a P3300 and I'm going to sell the P3600 for this without thinking twice! I dont need no wifi, or edge or even bloody bluetooth! I just want a pocket PC which actually fits into my pocket. That I can use as a phone and thats it. I think Samsung have done a good thing leaving all those things out as I'm sure there are a lot of people out there who would buy this just for its simple pocket pc functionality. I would have liked WM6 as it is becoming the standard now so a minus point there for sure but I'm willing to try it out. Plus I've seen and heard that WM6 is just a flashier version of WM5 with vista looking menus and wallpapers etc. Other than that I've heard its nothing special. On ebay these are currently selling for �399 and one seller in America is selling them for about $580 dollars which amount up to around �300 including delivery. Not bad. But his got a lot of negative feedback which is quite worrying! One more thing: No wifi, no edge, no GPS = LONGER BATTERY LIFE :D

I dont think this phone will be slider. Because it couldnt hide a keyboard under there nor a keypad that would slide closed that way. The phone is simply touch screen.
