Motorola Moto E5 Play - User Reviews

  • Re: john doggo , Or... you just don't know how to transfer files , I naven't any problem to transfer files , doesn't matter what the files type are they (*.jpg ; *.png ; *mp3; *.mkv, etc.)so try again with some PS - suit compatible with your phone !!! Motorola have one , just try ...

  • I had 6 Blackberrys in 12 months. I loved it! But I spent more time playing with the phone than using it, This is my second Motorola. I love the simplicity and using it for what I bought a phone for!

  • 1 day later. Oh okay, There was an option to tell the phone that you're using it to transfert files. What a dumb option through. 5 star phone. No problems.

  • impossible to put data on this phone. I uses small cords and the one that comes with it too, tried everything, from the laptop to a computer, Impossible to put pictures or videos nor anything on this phone. 0 star.

  • Bruh!

  • My phone has lost the delete button I probably deleted it

  • why does my moto e5 play camera look like it is always on night vision

  • There are many opinions against and has favor of certain phone but in regards to me being on a visit has Ebay found Motorola Moto E5 Play and this phone proved to be as good as many phone over $ 500.00 dollars only cost $ 69,99 is super fast a very impressive camera and an elegant appearance is a good size , I am very happy with having a Moto E5 Play at my side is a very good phone . Thank Motorola

  • i wanna unlock my phone imei

  • Does it support the chinese language?

  • Very easy to use

  • I hope you found the virtual button by now. After you press the "?123" button you press the "=\

  • Motorola had a name for quality. This phone is very difficult to use and does not perform well. Junk regardless of price!!

  • the % sign is in the 123 section above ABC you see =\< click it.

  • Just bought moto e5. I am trying to input my wifi pw but I can't find a % sign on the keyboard. Please help!

  • Apparently there is a moto E5 play and moto E5 play Go which has 1gb ram.

  • This is my second Moto phone, my other was a G4, whose battery died at 18 months. I prefer this new one, it could be because it has android 8 vs 7. Another good feature’s the removable battery. Charging doesn’t take too long, screen is easy to read and is responsive. It’s probably the best phone for the price.

  • This is good phone.

  • U swipe across the screen 2 ansa incoming calls

  • Totally agree. Bad design, by putting volume cantrol on right side with the power button. Have unintentionally turned off phone too many times, trying to adjust volume. Photo Gallery is another issue. Attempts at transferring photos from device to SD card was a fail. IT makes a separate album for EACH individule photo. (That's around 500 pics/albums!?) At this point, all I can say is I sure miss my SAMSUNG...

  • The buttons are embedded in the removable back cover. To access the SIM card slot, that cover must be taken off and it is very easy to break it in the process, especially around those buttons, where it's very thin. The worst comes now: Motorola does not sell replacement back covers. The only option they offer is to replace the entire phone, against a "physical damage" fee. In short, if that removable back cover happens to break, this (otherwise pretty good) phone is doomed. I find that unacceptable.

  • There is also the Motorola moto e5 (XT1920DL) by Simple Mobile, a MVNO for T-Mobile. It also supports T-Mobile's 600mhz Band 71.

  • Picked one up for $15 brand new in open box. I'm just gonna play with it and see what it can do without ever putting a sim card in it. Every app on the thing, every single feature, is designed to collect personal information of some kind. It's basically an advertising-delivery platform that simultaneously hoovers up every possible scrap of information about you, "the user." "The used" would be closer to the truth.

  • But I like the thick bezel. Why does a side of a phone have to be all screen? I don't like notches and such.

  • The T-Mobile model has the compass sensor.

  • The E5 Play XT1921-1 supports these bands: CDMA-BC0,BC1,BC10 GSM-2,3,5,8 UMTS-1,2,4,5,8 LTE-1,2,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,25,26,30,38,41,66 The Moto e5 Play XT-1921-3, the T-Mobile model, supports: CDMA-BC0,BC1,BC10 GSM-2,3,5,8 UMTS-1,2,4,5,8 LTE-1,2,3,4,5,7,8,12,13,17,25,26,38,41,66,71 I have tested the T-Mobile Moto e5 Play XT-1921-3 and it supports voice over LTE/HD voice. The T-mobile model also has no fingerprint reader.

  • I was looking for a basic Android phone and decided to try this one. For its price (CDN $150), my expectations were not high but this phone has indeed surprised me. Pros + Stock Android or at least very few vendor app. Less bloat = more speedy. + Decent battery. I charge every 2 days with minimal to average usage. + Removable battery and back cover + microSD card slot + Good camera snap speed + Clear call quality using speaker and mic + I really like the fingerprint reader. No need to enter patterns (but you still can). + Android Oreo + CDN $150 + Did I mention the speedy performance? Cons - No NFC (I don't use it so it's not really a problem for me). - The textured back isn't "grippy" enough (just buy a case, problem solved) - No blinking notification (it has the hardware so this depends entirely on the software which they can add anytime through an update). However, it's got "Moto display" which nicely fades in and out when you get notifications. You can also download apps that can enable the notification light if you really want it. That's everything I could think of at the moment. Hopefully, this device will last for a long time. So far, I am pleased with this phone. It does everything I need. With its price/performance ratio, you can't beat it. My previous phone was more expensive than this one but not faster.

  • there are 2 variants, this one and the go edition of the same e5 play the one with 1 gb ram

  • Correction to what I wrote above. I have the Moto E5 Play Go. Not this version. Very confusing way to name the device

  • I have had this smartphone for almost two weeks now. Purchased it from O2 on PAYG in the UK for £80. So far I am impressed. Well worth the money. Would recommend. For calls, texts, some web browsing and basic photos it is more than capable. It even says "Hello Moto" :-) Plus it also has a fingerprint reader. Still not sure about Android Go though.

  • Just got this beautiful phone 3 days ago and I still haven't needed to charge it yet I never should have switched from motorola to any other brand years ago I totally regret that mistake.

  • how do u use it , having trouble with just answering it. help please

  • Excellent phone. To those ripping on it for not being a premium phone realize that this phone obliterates its competition in its price range. The step up is double the cost but has superior hardware (and that carbon backplate). Back to the E5 play. Good touch response. Easily get a full day from the battery. GFX performance is poor so this is not a good game phone. Best in class 1000%.

  • Bought this phone outright for $170 CAD. Decent and capable phone. I don't game or use tons of apps so it more than meets and exceeds my needs. 2 GB ram and is fairly speedy. The battery life could be better, but using it as stated above I've been charging once every 36-48 hrs. If you're looking for a decent mid range phone I'd recommend this. If you're overly picky about cam quality buy a camera. If you don't spend hours upon hours on social media or gaming on your phone this is great bang for the buck.

  • I bought this yesterday. As people said, Lonovo has destroyed the quality of Motorola phones. It has HD display but it looks like half of that resolution. it has 8mp camera but VGA camera is better than this. Battery drains rapidly. 50% in one night. Today I am going to replace/return/repair this at store. Never buy this phone. Put some extra bucks and buy good one.

  • There's something funky about this phone. Finnish retailers are posting it with 1GB RAM while on here it says 2GB. I'd trust GSMArena over anything, but are there 2 versions being sold?

  • Need a present for the little sister of an ex but the removable back is a turn-off even at this price, so i wondered how bad is it? Any glitches, does it feel solid, will the cover fly off if the phone is dropped, or other typical drawbacks of removable backs?

  • I bought the Motorola Moto E5 Play a week ago after a long search for a low cost phone that would do all the basics along with a removable battery and the capability to do GPS navigation. So in my search I was looking for a mobile with a compass/magnetic sensor which aids navigation so was a must have for me. I checked a few comparison sights and they all agreed the E5 Play had all the specifications I was looking for. Once I received the phone in the UK I was really disappointed compass apps would not work. Only then I checked with www.motorola.co.uk to find COMPASS sensor NOT INCLUDED! So I’m really disappointed with the bum steer from these comparison sites. Not sure what to do with the mobile now; I’m find the mobile is pretty good just missing that compass sensor I was looking for.

  • removable battery, ... and yes, that is awesome! get aftermarket large battery and backplate... mic drop

  • is that a plastic back? if so why backtrack on the metal backs. it was good on the e4 and g5 made the phone a lot more durable.

  • How much do you think it costs to manufacture this phone, and how much do you think it should cost? Do you realize that not all phones are meant to be flagship at $800?

  • it's a budget phone, what do u expect?

  • What the heck is this? are we back to early 2000s?

  • Micro USB? Motorola becoming a joke.

  • I just picked my this phone and I love it great product this phone to anyone in a budget. Great little phone for the money I get mine for 5/bucks a month seven with the service. This phone is packed with features for the money it is too of the line in it's class. Well worth it Folks if you have a Xfinity account you can sign up with Xfinity Mobil go to your local store and check it out

  • cool phone,nice upgrade

  • Best competitor Galaxy Grand Prime Pro and Moto E4

  • Almost all motorola phone The bezzel is too thick... NO GOOD AT ALL. I was the motorolla fans.. too bad

  • In mobile specification why u r not mentioning SAR radiation level ??

  • y did they moved fingerprint at back not good

  • Using Moto E5 for some time. Presently getting screen automatically blank off. Removing sim for 4-5 hrs and switching on it become normal. It takes too long time to restart. Happens very frequently. Donot have bills and warranty card. But one year not over

  • This is the oldest brand, most innovation on mobile come from Motorola, use majority by engineer and IT

  • Looks nice and compact, performance shouldn't be that bad with the 425.

  • I just buy one yesterday it has snapdragon 425 so far no lag

  • In my Shop E4 cost 99 eur so this one should be up to 120.
