Motorola Moto G6 - User Reviews

  • I had this phone for 6 months, and I used to love it, it feels very fluid with 4GB 64GB, the display is colorful and bright, the front camera is good at daylight, but at night the front flash is useless, pictures comes out dark, that phone was stolen from me, now I own an Moto G6 Play, it's nowhere near as fluid as the G6, but the front camera is so much better, mainly at night, the front flash illuminates the selfies with great details and colors.

  • I bought this device to a friend of mine for only 106€ (4Gb/64GB) version. It´s up to date with android 9 agust security patch. It really is a nice device for every day use. it feels fluid enough for non demanding tasks, birght and colorful screen, it feels premium in your hand and and good enough camera. IT even has fast charge and NFC! For this price i think it´s a safe choice. Don´t let the 450 SD put you off. yes you´re after gaming perfomance is quite weak. Batery life i don´t have idea how much but with moderate usage it will last one day

  • Well the upside with using SD 4 series is price goes down a lot with time. I found the G6 64GB here in my country Saudi Arabia for about $110 USD (including tax). That's a rediculous low price for what is similar in specs to a Nexus phone not too long ago. SD 450 is equivalent to 801 which isn't bad imo. Once you sure 50K on Antutu you're pretty safe with normal phone usage (not gaming). I just hope Moto G line reserves what made it unique in the first place, small size, weight and price.

  • today when i charge my phone battery suddenly 4% to 85% and 99% and mobile switch of automatic

  • You can go to Settings > Battery > Battery Usage and see what exactly is using up extra battery. I would start there.

  • Is it worth it than samsung note ?

  • My phone's battery is going down too much without doing it automatically .. Please tell any solution

  • It does in the International ver.

  • I got the G6 slightly used yesterday! It's in perfect condition, it's fast, and it has all compatibility and uses that I need! Came with original charger too. I would refrain from buying the G7, though. As I see it, it's a downgrade! Slightly slower CPU/GPU, a butt ugly notch, and many apps don't work and/or are buggy. Moto G6: 4.8/5 Moto G7: 2.3/5

  • The G4 Plus was huge at the time to me. But yeah the Moto G has tended to get larger as time has gone on. Unfortunately most phones whether budget or premium have all gone the same way. The G7 Snapdragon 632 is pretty good and a nice step up from the 450 in the G6. The shame with it is that the GPU hasn't improved along with the CPU. Better luck with the G8 I hope.

  • What I want to see in Moto G8 5.9 screen 19.5:9 aspect ratio FHD+ Less than 160 grams (very important) 4GB Ram Snapdragon 710 or 712 64GB memory Less than $300

  • Moto G lost it's path Up until G6 the phone was always petite and unique. The G7 is just an oversized phone with a compromised CPU. I hope Moto make the G8 smaller and lighter.

  • No. The Moto G6 will not be receiving Android 10.

  • Everything is running beautifully. Android 9 on this G6 runs even better than 8 did on it in my opinion.

  • Is there any scope of android 10 for moto G6 ?

  • Mine too, and now it's faster, it reduced the lagging and freezing...

  • How did it turn out?

  • Received the August security updates last night.

  • My phone is full leg

  • Yeah definitely don't forget parts of the phone or contents of the package when trying to return things. Also, don't have any of the problems you are talking about and I have had two G6s. But I live in areas with decent connectivity and only have a few other phones to compare with. The Moto G6 maintains connections better than my KeyOne and my iPhone 6s.

  • I tried to return this phone but forgot the charger at home. Now I am stuck with it. It is very difficult to hear the other person when talking. The worst thing is that it currently loses connection with the towers. I have to turn on airplane mode for a while then turn it off. I would not recommend this phone.

  • Hi, anyone say me the perfectly full screen tempered glass which brand and where to buy. Pls....

  • Google blocked call recording in 9. Probably for the obvious security implications.

  • Call recorder not working .no app is compatible

  • Security updates are always a good idea. Have applied all of them on my G6 and haven’t experienced any problems with them.

  • I have had my G6 for 3 days now. it's a lot faster than my old Grand Prime, which I had for about 4 years. I have seen where it says to update security. I guess I should, correct? I'm just a little concerned about something possibly going wrong. I'm still learning this phone, but so far, I really like it.

  • When you consider that they have been working on this update for the G6 for a very long time I imagine that they have ironed out most of the problems even before this general release.

  • Ok than ks, I went ahead and updated it anyhow, any issues I am sure Motorola should patch in coming months.

  • Here in mex we recieve the pie a week ago, no issue so far with basic apps, like youtube, whats up, ect, but today I´m having a problem with my mobile data it turn off automatically...

  • I've only been running Pie a few days so I can't say if there any bugs outside of the things that I do on the phone but I can say that so far I haven't run into any problems. Performance and battery life feel the same as before the update. OS runs nice and smooth so far. The idle power draw might be just a bit less. Not sure.

  • how is the phone working since? faster, slower? any bugs?

  • I got the Pie update yesterday downloaded the 1.4 GB file and I am waiting on any news of bugs with this update. Can anyone confirm if this update has any flaws. I am deciding if to install or not.

  • I can't believe there is no 4k video recording support?

  • Received the Android Pie 9.0 update along with the May 2019 update today (July 15th). So that is excellent news. Felt like quite a wait but it is here now.

  • Hey moto!!! Will the Moto G6 user get any more security updates or not? We have been giving 5-month-old security updates. The user does not care for you so that you are losing your user in India. ... better than you is a realme phone that keeps giving users a regular update.....

  • I stand corrected. My 9.0 Pie Update includes the June 1 2019 Security Patch. So far so good. Seems to be smoother and the UI is more responsive.

  • Here in mex we just security update for June 800 mb, but still no pie ...🙃

  • I just received the 9.0 Pie Update today with the April Security patch (Verizon).

  • Bought the G6 7/2/2019. Flashed Pie on the 3rd(couldn't make calls, everything else worked) and re-flashed Oreo. And phone still is phenomenal. I have the XT1925-13 and it's beautiful and very quick. Although the quick part may be due to me trading in my Note 4 for this phone. It's easy to root, and with TWRP it's hard to screw up. I'm keeping it at Oreo till a stable or stock rom is available. Aside from not having NFC (which almost made me not buy it) it feels great and solid. Not flimsy and plastic. Just put screen protector and case on. It's been on 4 bike rides and I can see the screen better than Note 4. My only complaint is Pie not being available yet. But I can wait.

  • Got the February 2019 security update today.

  • After February 2019 security path..

  • Hi, which software update did u use to enable guest feature

  • What about the 7th and 8th digits of IMEI# That is 09 the cell phone quality and manufacturer location is good or what????

  • After new software Update Guest user feature is Available... Moto... pls. Auto Call Recording feature provide

  • Today evening i have received Security Update & february security patch included. Update Size 495.7mb

  • Motorola and Lenovo are the most useless companies in terms of software updates

  • All right bro.

  • Sar?

  • Best phone

  • Well Huawei phones can be good also but my first Huawei is y9 2019. I'm dissapointed with Huawei. It doesn't have ñ and everytime I point my cursor to the letter i want to delete, it goes always after the last letter of the word. Huawei i think is not yet matured in UI. Moto and Samsung are. I gave this phone to someone else. I need to go back to Moto. I love Moto. Gestures and display modes are great. I love these features. My first Moto is Moto G5 Plus. It's very fast. And long battery life. Plus the turbo charging. Unfortunately, it resets automatically and the screen becomes warmish in color. Became very dark. And it fell so many times hahaha. I dont know if he falls is the cause. But i enjoyed the 15 months im with my Moto G5 Plus.

  • After Pie Update Guest User feature is disabled

  • After update is the Fon same/better or it has downgraded?

  • Pls. Add Call Recording Feature

  • Already arrived in india i am using it since 1 month

  • can get mi sd660, but after 6months will fail here and there while motorola still rocks, when you have contract a year go for it. price dont lie except fruit phone

  • When did pie arrive in India?

  • People praise it because it is a good phone for a good price. Shocking huh?

  • really like when ppl praise this garbage from moto at same price u can get snapdragon at 660 thanks lenovo for ruining moto

  • Hi, anyone using Google camera on g6 ?, share link with me also

  • Best phone for its price. Motorola phones have always been amazing mid range phones, and the latest iteration of the G series does not disappoint. Love the clean Android with minimal bloatware. Love software included, such as Moto Actions and Moto Display. Decent hardware, especially for $249 (I got it for $179) This may be no Samsung Galaxy, but for its price range its amazing.

  • So what? I'm agree with you. but Dolby sound is very good quality and clearly for listen to music, watch video, gaming and ect...... After update pie. ( I don't want too much sound I like Rich and good sound quality)

  • Pie working everything perfectly my Moto G6.

  • But Dolby Audio Sound very Slow

  • Lot of problems in pie update Volume button not working properly in youtube Delay in app opening Anyone have solution??

  • Today I update Android pie. Everything working fine, the New round notification panel, Dolby sound work very good the Always on for louder mode option really nice. And ect..... So Happy my Moto g6 with pie 9.

  • After pie update Camera Quality is very bad..

  • Ya... But After Update RAM management is improved

  • After pie update phone become slow

  • After pie update phone become slow

  • Today I found an update of Android Pie 9.0, the size of the update is 1431 MB

  • Android 9 could fix problems. Same happened with a Moto G4 Plus, when got the last Android everything worked ok.

  • Yes. But you have to Enable MIDI from USB configuration which is in developer options in setting.

  • It support OTG?

  • What is even going on in this post?

  • Motorola is testing Android pies from September and today the testing is going on, your developers are full of idiots who are unable to make updates till date ...?

  • When available Android 9? For Moto G6.

  • There are volume boosting apps on the Play Store. Could give those a try. You could also try turning off the Volume Leveling and the Dolby equalizer to see if that does anything. Otherwise I agree, the call volume through the earpiece is not very loud. Ironically, the speaker volume when on a call is crazy loud. You can fill a room easy.

  • Just received the January security update today. Not the February update but much better than the November that it was on.

  • Just bought this phone. Sadly, the call volume is terrible and volume cannot be adjusted to the point where I can actually hear people. This is a long standing complaint , see thread below: I would never buy this phone again.

  • LG G6. This phone has ftont camera issues, when you fill more then 50% of memory it becomes really slow phone.

  • Moto G6 or LG G6? What would you prefer as your daily phone?

  • I don't have this problem. O don't have any problems with the Moto G6 at all In fact, this is my seventh (7) Motorola phone that I have owned and I have never had that problem before. I'm not a humongous Motorola fan (I'm not brand loyal at all) but they have always been well built and we'll optimized phones in my experience. So I would say that our anecdotal evidence balances one another out.

  • Why won't motorola fix the problem with the phone randomly resetting? The phone works great as long as you don't use apps. It's not an app problem, it's a Moto problem. They say to delete apps that cause it to reset. I never had to do that on my Samsung. I hope you enjoyed my 149 dollars Motorola, that's the last time you will get any money out of me. That includes all other electronices. Don't buy this phone!

  • Android Pie OTA update is live now in Brazil.

  • You need to measure the screen diagonally. Try measuring from the bottom left corner to the top right corner and you will see the real size of the screen.

  • Anyone know exact date when will we receive 9.0 android?

  • I am big fan motorola phone but disappointed to his low level Processor & Software Update...

  • Screen measurements are given diagonally. Maybe you are measuring it vertically

  • Avoid this phone. It resets 5 to 6 times a day. Support says to delete apps that cause the phone to reset. The apps that cause it to reset is Gas Buddy, Words with Friends, Twitter, and occassionally Fox news. Sorry, but those are mainstream apps. The problem is the PHONE, not the apps.

  • I got an answer to this, thank you anyway.

  • My screen is 5 inches, my phone is 6 inches length, and 2.75" width. What on Earth type of phone did I buy? It says it's a Moto G6 XT1925-12, on the phone and on the box. No where online can I find those dimensions? Can someone help me figure this out? I bought the phone from Verizon, Thanks in advance for any info:)

  • This is new phone purchase only three days ago. I think it network problem.

  • back your phone to factory setting, I guess it's best.... or contact someone that knows a lot about smartphones... If not, bring him to trash and buy another one ;)

  • Can't download any app from Google play store.

  • Moto g6 support Jio Sim?? Pls anyone reply....

  • Hi, today I'm purchase New moto g6 on local dealer (10500rs) it is awesome phone at the price range. everything works fine great display smooth touch. Happy with it.

  • Next time I will not buy Motorola's mobile because it does not get updates, next time Nokia will buy it because in it Get regular updates...

  • I would get this if the back wasn't going to break. I already know it will. I need a phone under $200 that's not a Huawei.

  • Buyer beware. The phone works perfect, as long as you don't use apps. Resets itself repetively when you use apps. Do a google search on Moto G6 problems. Motorola just says to get rid of the apps that make it reset. So far the apps that make it reset while using them are google, twitter, gas buddy.

  • Hey moto... when you update pie for moto g6 I am tired for waiting android pie update YOU WILL UPDATE IN 2019 OR 2020😠

  • Moto g6 is better I love its unique design and it have better camera and stock android and full hd against the hd of honor 7c But honor 7c is cheaper than g6 if you found them at the same price tgan better get motorola

  • Moto g6 is better at least for me I love its unique design and it have better camera and stock android

  • After 5 months, back glass panel glued off somehow...

  • Not happy that there is no light that lets you know you received a call or message.

  • Moto G6 or Honor 7C? Thanks

  • I've had two previous ('budget') Motorola androids, upgraded to the Moto G6 Plus about three months ago. I've been happy with the performance at the price, bit within two weeks the rear body glass cracked right across the middle while sitting on a shelf overnight, switched off and not being charged. Motorola deny any responsibility, but I see a number of posts on forums of people with similar experiences. My phone is rarely out of the tough case, only occasionally if a particularly chunky USB plug doesn't fit or if a NFC device doesn't work through the case. One such instance was today when I discovered that now the whole upper half of the body rear glass had completely shattered.

  • Yes it is. Just splash resistant.

  • After November security patch RAM Management very bad...

  • Honor 7a is way cheaper If you live in us honor 8x is great at its price and cheaper than moto

  • Motorola G6 is it splash resistance or not ?

  • I was big Moto fan, still like it, and have Moto G3 and X4 bfor move to Huawei Mate 20 Lite. Just in case you didn't decide to be Moto, take a look on Mate 20 Lite. Great cameras, outstanding battery, great display, notification light, good sound quality. Only thing that i miss a lot from Moto's is Pure android feeling. Other than that Mate 20 Lite is hell of a midrange beast. Easily run 2day with one charge and 8-9 hrs screen on time. Very snappy Kirin 710 processor+great 6,3 inch display. But if you go for Moto, G6 is great phone. I buy for my nephew one and is very happy with it. Overall plus for Moto is stockish android experience. Cheers.

  • Just received some security update of 83.4 MB

  • Thank you very much for you're review of the phone. I have only one more question. I know that G6 does not have a LED notification light, and for me that's a must have feature. Can i use some aplication for that because i saw a lot of videos on youtube where you can use front flash a sa notification light? Thanks in advance and have a good day? :D

  • I say the moto, anything motorola puts out is very good. Everything from the camera, an incredibly smooth stock android look, great screen, crisp display, amazing photos and music output that compares nicely to the iphones and LG's and a battery that lasts forever. I recommend 100%. The honor 7a is kinda cheap feeling, the display is good but im not a fan of the os. I sometimes have lots of problems opening the camera ap since it tends to delay alot, same with facebook and other apps. The flash on the phone also takes a long time to open up, and other times it doesn't open at all. Music is really dull and the cameras are nice, just tends to open late. The motorola for me is an allrounder, great in almost everyway for the price, and way more reliable. Have a good day!

  • Can anyone help me. Im thinking of buying this phone because it looks very good for a middle class phone. My question is which phone is better: Motorola G6 or Honor 7a? Thanks in andvance :)

  • Mine has NFC... But I can't film... Only take pictures. It says unable to capture on all setting combinations. All permissions are granted for the camera.

  • G6 does not have NFC so cannot be used for in-store purchases. Such an elementary feature MISSING ;-(

  • I just purchased a Micro SDXC card and I am having trouble getting it to fit in the slot. Can anyone tell me if this will work in my Moto G6 or do I need to return it?

  • Is anyone experiencing camera to be blur on one side while taking photos and videos after the latest software update? Please let me know

  • Had this phone for over a month now I must say it is a bittersweet review. Yes we all know the camera is slow but it is a quality camera after it does focus and snap. I love the sleek design of the glass back. Battery life is as expected for a 3000 mAh with the Moto notifications (turning this feature off may result in better battery life). As my storage space went over 50% I have noticed some lag when using a lot of applications. I think given all what I have said it is a good price for what you get. I will continue to update this review or future reviews as I use this as my daily driver.

  • Waste mobile.. Bco'z no timely update for software pie update not received. Camera Quality is very poor and slow. Portrait mode not good.

  • Writing this review after three months of usage. Goods: 1. Phone looks awesome, feels premium. 2. Battery life satisfactory, goes full day without charging with moderate usage of couple of hours of music, browsing the web and gaming. 3. Camera is good. Front camera is awesome. 4. Sound quality is great, the speaker is loud and doesn't distort. 5. Nearly stock android with some Moto apps, lag free and smooth experience. 6. Display quality is best despite being LCD. Bads: 1. Camera is slow. I mean, too slow at this price point. 2. Fingerprint reader is made of plastic, hence, scratches easily. 3. Snapdragon 450 at 16k with 32bit os, the processor and the os is well optimized for average usage but it's not awesome. Feels kinda slow sometimes. 4. RAM management is not good despite having 4GB. Verdict: It's a very very good phone but not the best at this price point. There are better phones than this out there. Motorola could have done better. Do your research and find a phone that fits your needs. If you go for this, chances are you gonna get disappointed at some point later on. Happy buying.

  • does the US version support in india

  • Currently using it now for around a month. Indeed the best device I ever had, super smooth, elegant, and comfy.

  • DOSE motorola g6 support cdma in verizon

  • My brand new G6 gets power off automatically without any reason.. even when is kept on the table

  • Me too. I have the same issue started a month ago

  • Does anyone experiencing autofocus issue

  • Yesterday.. i Have received 1 September security patch

  • I tried same operator with various smartphone. Moto get 4bar edge out of 5bar max, The rest phone no signal at all due tested in real poor area. Sailor often use Motorola as they travel alot

  • 2G must be double in range when 3/4G is half.If not device fail.

  • how is network quality of 2g compare to other phone inside home how much network bar showing or dbm please replay

  • The US version of this phone is a downgrade. Low storage, low memory, and a 4xx series Snapdragon? This phone was obsolete before it was built. Why can't the US get the Plus version? If we could, I'd buy, but since we can't, no dice.

  • And What about g5 plus camera?

  • And what about g5 plus camera ???

  • I disagree with you. I took same object with both phones, G6 camera catched more details, and photo is sharper. BUT video recordings on G5s are far better. G6 camera in recording mode is just unusable in low light. And G6 is full glass sandwich phone. G5s is metal housing and back panel.

  • I have taken Moto G6 Mobile in 10 days. Its really nice but ...Some charging problem 3000 mah. Camera is really very good. Charging is very fast dry. If u place update my system.

  • Unfortunately there is bad choice about camera.G5s camera is better than G6.Moto downgrade quality.Overall minors in build quality too.

  • What phone do you recommend for this price range then?

  • Pass it... It is good phone. But you can get better for this money. I have it for about 4 months, front camera is dead, and phone ia getting slow. Also, i hate this gallery, it shows me every icon, picture or phone i have on phone. Like game items icons. I have 3000+ photos in phone. And i took only 100 with my camera

  • is it good phone to buy??

  • My wife have g5s, and camera from g6 is better... BUT today, my front facing camera died, whenever i turn camera on, its all in purple colour, and strips. For no reason at all, i did not drop my phone ever, not a single time.

  • For who have g5 plus and g6 can you answer me which of them has better rear camera? And is it better than g5s plus

  • Why not? Pubg runs smoothly here. For this price, phone is just fine.

  • SD450 is a lower clocked SD625 with a downgraded ISP, and the 625 came out in 2016. So yeah, technically the 450 is 2 years old.

  • It is inexpensive, gets decent battery life, and the 450 came out in Q3 2017 with performance around the realm of the Snapdragon 630. A very good feature set for this price range.

  • i'm happy to see ppl buying Snapdragon 450 in 2018 and still happy

  • Im using it as my daily device, constantly checking emails, searching web, about 3h of music, 2 hours of gaming, auto brightness... And im ending my day with 20%. Best thing is, you can charge it from 20% to 100% in hour.

  • It is not a perfect phone in this price range.it is expensive, poor battery life ,old processor, not waterproof etc.i suggest you not to buy this phone .try some alternate for it .

  • Im using it for 3 months, no problem at all with signal, BUT! my front facing camera sometimes get some purple colors on screen, so you fix that by switching cameras 2-3 times and its gone.

  • It's just not right to compare high end flagship phone, with mid-class budget phone, that would be same as comparing Renault VS BMW.

  • Been using this phone daily all summer, US unlocked version on ATT network. No problems with WiFi or LTE connectivity. Amazing phone for $250.

  • I used the phone exclusively for 2 weeks about a month ago and I never had ANY issues with the cell strength indoors on the AT&T network here in the US. Also, I never had any issues with the wifi strength either although I have seen people mention that from time to time. The phone performed well and I never had any connectivity issues.

  • Was thinking of buying this phone tonight but from hearing all these negative opinions, especially about the low cellular signal. Im lost as what to do now or what phone to purchase.

  • do you face low signal/no signal isuue inside home compare to other mobile, does this device have low signal issue compare to ther mobile

  • I have moto g6...but it always shows only one signal only one bar.. Why is it

  • Very poor. Had it side by side with a samsung s8 and g6 Moro had less than half signal while s8 was full bars. I understand the big price difference but a basic function of a phone such as cellular connection should not jeopardized by Lenovo when cutting cost

  • how is signal quality compare to other device

  • Yes same here, look on Lenovo forum and lots of people have the same problem.

  • is anyone experiencing fluctuating cellular signal with tmobile, and just poor reception all around where another tmobile phone works just fine? I have had my G6 swapped twice because where my other tmobile phone work with full signal strength, G6 is always fluctuating gaining and losing signal bars. i am still having this issue.

  • If you mean it's usb-c not micro-usb, then yes. Otherwise what are you on about

  • Has anyone noticed the '9000' in the GSMArena link for this phone?

  • The charger for g6 is not universal plug it's different from other it's not necessary guys plz select the best phone it's not!!!

  • on Android authority they said this phone has good battery life . come on here and it shows like 64hr of endurance . hell to the NO!

  • Got 422mb update yesterday

  • I think the 64GB version has 4GB RAM, Dual SIM

  • Variations of quality depends on market.

  • Hi! what is the software channel of your moto g6? thank you

  • It's a quality phone and will receive the Android Pie update.

  • I'm no expert but I don't think it's a dual SIM phone, there's a slot for the SIM and a slot for the MicroSD card on the tray, at least that's how I have it. I could be wrong.

  • US Variants are limited to 3GB/32GB storage. No sale here.

  • Today i have received june-July security Update. Update Size 442 Mb

  • AFAIK (from what I read around the internet) only a single slot is supported for 4G :-( sadly.

  • GPS disconnected very often too also in plus version too.Bad quality phones for Moto G series .Everyone interesting in new Motorola ,wait for the new Moto one an Moto one power saw in IFA excebition.

  • Usually I use WAZE and HERE we Go maps for better guidance in my old mobile, Recently I bout MOTO g6 and used WAZE and HERE we Go maps, but they were complaining MY GPS is turned off though I turned my location on. Anybody faced this issue or any suggestion please let me know

  • Is this phone 4g capable in both SIM slots?

  • With the latest software update I noticed one is not able to customise the Google search bar widget whereas with a Moto X4 (with the same Oreo 8.0.0) you can customise it. What's with the inconsistency?

  • Generally speaking I think you are correct. Platform updates are primarily good for feature updates. Occasionally important security updates come in the platform updates. But the monthly security updates are definitely the most important for regular usage even if you don't get the platform updates. From this perspective things have dramatically improved in the Android world.

  • Don't fall in marketing tricks. Not need Android update unstable due small or big hardware differences. That's finally happened in many phones.Only need often security updates for safe use

  • Yeah, we can only really know what they tell us. What actually ends up happening can be entirely different.

  • Not sure .Mentioned in blog according past Μotorola update behavior .Some devices still waiting oreo

  • No charging problems here. Just exchange it for another.

  • The G6 is on the list for Motorola phones receiving Pie beginning this fall.

  • Within 10 days charging problem occurred. Naver purchage it.....

  • According motorola blog ,Android Pie will be served up this fall for moto g6 plus, moto g6,moto g6 play depends on market

  • Saw in use .Overall bad quality phone for Moto G series .Also no news about future updates

  • Good phone dada

  • After update Camera portrait mode is not a good and earphone sound is low waste phone

  • I bought Moto g6 few days back. Within a month I faced 2 issues: 1. Screen flickering It seemed as a common issue on Moto site and not a big deal for them. 2. My mobile got switched off automatically at 87% battery is not starting up again. There was no physical damage no other damage still replacement was not provided After consulting the service center, they are not ready to replace they say will analyse the issue and check if they can do anything. If for such a major issue also mobile replacement cannot be provided its useless. I regret buying Moto g6. I would suggest Don't buy Moto phone as service is WORST.

  • I bought motog6 a month ago. Overall its performance is good. The only problem I phased is it takes longer period to charge- from zero to 100% it takes almost 6 to 7 hours. Is it the battery problem ? If so can I get a replacement battery. Otherwise I am satisfied with the handset.

  • Lenovo bought motorola. Don't expect the quality

  • Issues with camera - doesn't always focus properly. External apps don't work well due to the second camera - sometimes shots taken indoors are taken with the wide aperture lens, resulting in almost black image. Cannot disable Wavelet Denoise even if you use app that has that function.

  • The US version supports CDMA2000 and weird T-Mobile stuff like 1700 MHz. It lacks NFC. The European (International) version has NFC support.

  • VoLTE is present in the settings for the European model at least.

  • does it support volte function

  • Waste mobile display is broken by keeping in pocket

  • yesterday i have received may-2018 security patches, update size 178mb

  • More frequencies for sure. Also differences in build quality and function depends on market.

  • Can anyone tell me the differences between a "US version" and an "International version" of this phone. Is it that the International version has more frequencies covered and the US version is limited to just the ones commonly used in the US? I bought a "US version" of this phone (I'm in Canada) not knowing the differences, and frankly I still can't figure it out. I also plan to travel to other countries with it so I want to make sure that I didn't make a bad purchase now.

  • Mate 10 lite.

  • no. 1 choice....

  • mobile have sim card problem. today i buy this phone. my sim card not support on phone, am try every time but am fail. my 1st impression on mobile is very bad. out of 10 am give him 2. am very disjointed

  • Not sure how this mobile is getting good rating. Bought this mobile a month back and the volume suddenly drops from ringtone, music player. Contacted the service center and as per their advice had factory reset done for 2 times. Now, I am not at all getting any sound, not even when some one calls me. Seems to be a junk phone with attractive looks. I am regretting buying this. Search on the web to find out that there are audio issues with Moto G6.

  • What a great phone

  • get the moto z3 play, you'll get more functionality with the moto mods plus it's just an overall better phone.

  • Moto G6 or Z3 Play ?

  • Should I go with Moto G6 or with Huawei Mate 10 lite?

  • Please do not go for Nokia 6.1

  • Which one is better, Moto g6 or Nokia 6.1.?

  • This is a good phone. For the price, it's a great phone. It has a nice, big, sharply detailed screen, a Qualcomm Snapdragon octa core processor and works well with Fi Network. It has bezels and I'm told it is not ideal for 3D gaming. It is a reliable smartphone for adults who understand value.

  • After read all this reviews, I think i should not waste my money on this.. So now what are the other best options available except Xiaomi Redmis in this range for me?

  • Please don't buy any Motorola phone. Battery discharge problem.

  • Glossy plastic on main body, no metal .Differences for cost, depends on market

  • Well, i don't know if we have same phone... Mine is all glass.

  • Sense of bad build quality phone .Plastic all around .Not fast as specifications mentioned. Back camera is bad .Can not use it by one hand .Roll ok with internet not with gps function. No news about new android updates

  • I got two important questions in getting a mid-range phone: Which comoany would you put trust on when it comes to quicker/timely updates especially major Android updates & security updates: Motorola or Samsung? Does the Moto G6 have any kind of electronic or digital image or video stabilization in the camera?

  • Honest review about G6 available in India (Version: 4GB, 64GB, Deep Indigo Black) Strong Positives: 1. BUILD: 18:9 aspect ratio with Dolby speakers and front mount fingerprint sensor that gives you an upper hand to check notifications without lifting the phone as well as it works as One Key Navigation that makes the functioning smooth. Sides are curved which helps the phone to fit well when held. 3D Glass back gives a premium look. Somehow G6 still has 3.5 mm Headphone Jack which is not in every case. Power button has a texture to differentiate with the volume strip. It comes with Type C reversible USB port. Worst part is the the body is very slippery, if kept in a 35-45 degree inclination it may slip and fall. I found it a little thick and heavy but that's not a major issue. 2. CAMERA: Camera is good but pictures are over saturated and the Image Stabilizer is average. Smart feature of camera includes Google Lens that can search details for objects or buildings. Low light photos are not at all good. 3. BATTERY: (Major Drawback) Though a 3000mAh battery it SUCKS. It drains out so fast you will feel cheated with the performance of the battery though the box comes with the TurboCarger Adapter but i personally feel atleast it should work for 16 hours of battery if you extensively use it for watching Videos and surfing net. 4. PERFORMANCE: After the battery the second major drawback can be the processor i.e. Snapdrogon 450 while variants of other companies gives Snapdrogon 600+ chip set. Face Unlock is okay. You can even unlock with MotoVoice. Motorola's flagship features like "chop-chop" for flashlight, "quick 180 turn" for camera mode are intact. AI camera feature which is in other devices are missing. Overall i would give 4.1 out of 5 (i wanted to give 4.5 but battery issue is very serious).

  • For sure it's a good phone I have been using it since 2weeks I haven't faced any heating issue It's a good phone for the price range

  • Its only .6 of a millimetre thicker than an iphone X and an iphone x costs five times more money

  • Moto G6 15 day user opinion :- If you are an Indian 2G user then re-think twice before buying this mobile, I am facing 'No Network' issues on B8 (900Mhz) band. In other words Moto G6 has poor signal gain on 2G mode. With 2G signal strength below -90dbm, my Moto G6 shows 'No Service' all the time with all service provider SIM.

  • It's a good phone, but my only problem is i find it difficult to listen to music and audio I play on the phone via the Bluetooth device

  • Why is it so thick? Understandable if it were a 4000mAh battery, it's only 3000mAh.

  • After 4 days of usage... Adaptive brightness- is so choppy while changing brightness...jumping from 90 to 50% instant, without some fade effect. Many, many, many times after i close sone tab that have some audio content, speaker will blast some weird sound, even if i did not play that content. Also, sensor that change brightness is so slow.. Camera in nigh conditions is crap.

  • I think the G6 is better than fanny land. It had plenty of layers just like a cabbage patch kid. Love it,

  • I switched from Xperia XA to G6 and oh my! I love everything about this phone... Camera is decent, speaker is loud but when you put it on max it lose bass... Design is beautiful, i have indigo blue. Front camera is meh but better than on XA. Only thing i miss is LED indicator. I got 3 Gb one

  • I wanna buy this phone but before I do I have 1 Question: The 3Gb Ram version how many available free Ram you have? I was in shop and Motorola disabled this information. So if anyone knows?

  • Ordered and recieved my phone within 20 hours of ordering it on 19th Jun. This review is based on my experince of using the phone for two days so far. Amazon is amazing at secure delivery of such costly items..They send OTP on the number associated with the account and we have to give that OTP to the deliveryman to recieve the product..Thats incredible security if you think of it. The box contains the phone, headphones, user manual, sim ejector tool and a turbo charger with a fast charging cable. Unlike many other reviews here, I have no problem getting the sim tray out with the sim ejector tool provided with the product. The sim tray has three slots, two for nano sims and one for the memory card. I have purchased a sandisk 128 GB card w this phone to maximize my memory and it works very fine with total 192 GB memory (64 GB internal plus 128 GB card). The phone is bulky to an extent but not a problem for me. I'm a rough user (broke front glass of RedMi 4 by dropping it off)..So purchased a transparent back cover for 199 from Amazon as well. Screen size is so perfect at 5.7 inches.. Optimal not to make it look like a phablet or cheap chinese phone..At the same time very perfect for viewing movies or videos using youtube or other streaming apps like netflix, zee5, altbalaji or amazon prime/hotstar. I had three basic criteria in mind before selecting this phone. 1- Good camera esp for selfies 2- 4 Gb or 6 GB RAM w 64 GB internal memory. 3- Good batterey w esp fast charging option All these criteria meet in this phone...Yes the camera remains the weakest of the three points..Pics are too hot in color (too loud colors- too colorfull pictures) and built in camera app is not good at all.. There is some confusion regarding MotoG6 front camera MPs..as its western models like US/UK have 8 MP selfie camera but the Indian version I am using has a 16 MP front camera... I tried using various apps to click and was happy w two or three of them so far.. B612 clicks the best pics w this camera...In my opinion. On memory front, its perfect ..We get 56.62 GB internal memory out of 64 GB..Better than other phones.. Minimum bloatware...No worries there.. Speed is excellent as well..Multi tasking is flawless.. Battrey remains the biggest plus point of these three criteria as its 3000 MAh..Able to charge the phone fully in less than 90 minutes!!Thats incredible!! But battrey drains fast as well..If you have a charger around...Should not be a problem at all! Setting up this phone can be boring.. In my phone google play store was not working..Despite a jio sim inside..Auto updates and play store updates were too buggy and slow..I had to force stop the play store app..Didnt work..Deleted app data didnt work..Then I cancelled all updates and deleted them from upper right corner in app info of the app..Didnt work for a minute..Then my apps started to download without a problem..So this method can be useful to you when you face the same problem in setting the phone up. Another seting up problem I faced was in the gmail accounts..When adding a new email account..The app takes an awful lot of time..It can test patience as we need at least one gmail account to set the phone up and use play store..After a few tries..It began working.. Pleasent surprise is dolby sound! Its really good w the headphones provided ...Use both ears and the experience is just incredible w dolby. Internet connectivity and downloads work even with calls on..Whatsapp works while talking on calls and play store downloads too..Other apps using net like gaana etc to download continue to work when you are on call. Supports jio and BSNL..Good and very stable wi-fi connectivity as well. Overall I'd give it 4.5 out of five stars..Half star less for the camera and a bit fast draining battrey but manageable. Definitely good value for money and I'm happy w this phone! To sum it up..three pros and cons of this phone: Pros- 1-DOLBY 2-Fast turbo charging 3-Good memory Cons- 1-Battrey drains fast 2-Delicate exterior 3-Camera could have been better. :-)

  • No it isn't,the main camera is very good for the price, pretty sharp and detailed. You must be crap photographer.

  • When I go to Motorola's US site, all they have are the base versions of their G6 and X4 phones (the minimum storage and RAM configurations). Until they start selling the 64GB storage and 4/6GB RAM setups here, no deal.

  • That's i m telling..

  • Well say bro

  • Does it get hot on heavy usage? Lets say while playing games or a lot of multitasking.

  • Yes I am getting signal issue

  • I bought it yesterday. My feelings after using for 24 hours Pros: 1.Good battery backup 2.premium design 3.Best camera in 14k segment in india(front 16mp) 4.Fast charging. 5.water resistance. 6.Volte supported. 7.2 sim + memory(3 slot) 8.comfortable holding. 9.fast fingerprint 10.ok ok face recognition. 11.bundled above average earphones. 12.Dolby is awesome if you have good earphones. Cons: 1.if you have used amoled screen earlier, this display looks cheap. 2. Slippery 3. Cases & tampered glass has limited availability. 4.Even its 18:9 display, top & bottom are huge. 5.Front camera is better than back camera 6.Basic mother board, 600 series motherboard could have been better. 7.loud speaker sound is high, but cheap sound(like chinese, no bass effect) from loud speaker.

  • felt cheap in the hand and not fast .Previous G5s better quality

  • Speaker is front Mounted

  • Volte not Supported...

  • Yes

  • The phone has killer looks. Its elegant with glass finish. Display is awesome. Camera is ok. Clarity of audeio is the best. You will not feel the difference with the processor speed while using What is visible to others is the looks and Moto G6 scores 10/10 on it.

  • I am not a big fan of Motorola but, Something i want to clarify.... As i have read all user opinions, Everyone talking about Processors but no one post opinion on It's Design Camara Quality, Display and Sound Clarity, Gaming and Heating. Is the only processor important? We all know what we will pay and what we will get... Why does a man leave another product aside and look at it? So, please make a proper and overall opinion on it...

  • Maybe you have the bright at it's max.? I always used my cell phone with it's bright at min. it never overheated

  • Just bought a G6...I Find that it gets hot too fast!...and I have not downloaded anything except FB, Pinterest, and WhatsApp?..whats that about?

  • Not sure I'd go as far as the member recommending people to buy any other brand. As various people on other "technical" programming sites said, the G series is mid-range. You can't have huge expectations about features. Which is not to say Motorola have not made some odd decisions recently. I love my G5s Plus but the lack of a compass was a mistake, even on a mid-range phone, as was/is the decision to put a 32-bit OS on it when its chipset fully supports 64-bit - we're still waiting for Oreo. But from what people have said so far, the G6 models have done a lot to rectify these. I leave it to others with a G6 to comment on the battery life/connectivity issues I've heard about.

  • Agree with you

  • Purchase any android one phone. They have better support compare to moto phones.

  • Please don't buy any Motorola phone. There is lot of issues in software update. Motorola not give the any software update timely. Service center support not good. Moto G series have a lot of issues. So I am not suggest to buy any moto phone.

  • Yeah, where is the Speaker? I was looking around the images, but didn't manage to find it :/

  • Nobody has mentioned anything about mobile connectivity. I've seen several people on another site report that they typically get "two bars less" than some older Motorola phones when doing a straight swap with a given sim card, even leading to no coverage in some geographical areas. Has anybody experienced this? My G5s Plus is always excellent.....

  • With respect, I've had no problems with the G5s Plus (dual SIM). In fact battery life and connectivity are brilliant - best phone I've ever had (three days battery life and I am not a light user - though of course if you watch youtube all day you should expect to drain any battery quickly). I can't speak for other phones in the range - and it's clear from the comments that some people have DO have the problems you mention on CERTAIN models. But I think Motorola have got it very right on some models....but potentially very wrong on others.

  • I tend to agree. Yes there are features my G5s Plus doesn't have. But my G5s Plus typically lasts me THREE days without charging - and though I'm not watching videos all day I'm hardly a "low user". I could be convinced by this phone but to be honest as soon as a manufacturer skimps on battery I get very suspicious. I do like the versatility of dual sim (as well as SD card) but that's simply not enough to compensate, in my opinion.

  • very true since google left moto..it is ruined

  • All moto phones coming with Pure Android. I understands their software section is very poor. Lot of features can be added in a phone like this, but they are not doing it. Even a photo Gallery app is not included. Regarding software update also, Moto is a failure. One year old g5 plus not yet received any major update.

  • Or you can buy Tenor G under 9K which has SD 626

  • at Rs 16000 (or maybe less now) i can buy SD 625 (2 GH) processor moto g5s whats the use of moto g6

  • volte on both sim at a time??

  • where is the speaker mounted , why its not specify , i love front monted speakers.

  • You get what you pay for!

  • ARCORE supported in motog6?

  • the SD450 isn't bad just because it carries the "4", rather than a "6". the SD450 is a SD625 with a lower clock and no 4K support. What I have seen, the phone performs pretty well.

  • Everything I've been reading is that it's going to be available with a 3gb/32gb or 4bg/64gb configuration. I'm guessing that's not the US market?? All I can find is the 3/32 configuration. IF so that sucks. I was really hoping for the G6plus not only do we get screwed out of the plus but now we don't get the 4/64 either??? Sad face emoji...

  • battery 3000mah....not enough....!!

  • Atleast It should have SDM636 or 660 processor

  • Just came in Germany market .Looks less quality phone than G5 series

  • 1.8 GHz, snap 450 ?? atleast 2GHz and a better processor

  • Me and my whole family using MOTO phones since moto g 2nd gen and moto e 2nd gen. But not happy with this upgrade.. not gonna pay 17000 for a snapdragon 450 and only 3000mah battery with secondary camera is only 8mp I Will wait for another month NOKIA x6 and MI A2 is coming.

  • I want a mid range phone to use in the europe, so will moto g6 work there if i buy it in india? Also if not this, which mid range phone ( huawei, honor, xiomi) can i buy from india and know it will work in europe? Thanks

  • Its specs are of those of the past.... You can get phones with much better specs for around the same price, with much smaller bezzles.

  • hello everyone do anybody know what`s the expected price of this phone in Pakistan ?

  • For its price you wont find much better phones. And this one also looks glamorous.

  • Xiomi redmi note 3 pro - Ive used for 2.5 years and now its dead

  • u mean sony means quality take a walk

  • good joke

  • we have enough budget ..we can buy phones of our choice post comments negative or positive here, as per our experience xiaomi beats moto

  • All Motorola phones like Moto g4 plus and other are having of battery, and sensors are not working properly....if ur having low budget pls go on some other brand.....

  • Moto G really rock. For your money there is no better Android device. Love the gestures also! Please to see the new G6.

  • MOTOROLA NEVER AGAIN. After owning Motorola's since the first Moto X (when it was Google) and recommending it to a lot of people, I'm done with them. Recently my girlfriend Moto Z Power Edition started to have several issues with the battery just 2 months after the warranty was over. I contacted some technical services specialized in replacing batteries to ask how much would cost to replace it and they DENIED doing the service because they had done this on literally hundred of Moto Z in the past months and after 1 or 2 months the phones came again with the same problem, which indicates it's a hardware failure and not the battery itself. So I went out to research about it on specialized sites we have here in Brazil about user complain / reviews and found out a MASSIVE number of reports (literally thousands) with this same issue across our country, which indicates a batch manufacturing problem. I then contacted Motorola and Lenovo customer service to ask if they were aware of this and how they are handle it, and they just ignored me over and over and over, and to this day there's hundreds of complains not answered and my requests are being ignored, because here the laws do nothing to protect the customer. So, FOR ME, Motorola never again. It doesn't matter if the phones are good, a company that doesn't acknowledge a massive issue like this and doesn't reply to loyal customers doesn't deserve my money, and I'll spread this history whenever I can so people are aware of this issue and how the company handles their customers.

  • When will the phone arrive in Argentina?

  • Moto g5 s plus

  • Moto g5 s plus vs moto g6? which one is faster?

  • An outstanding midranger.

  • Faster processor ,big screen ,camera update, not always offer quality

  • no actually ther is huge difference which you are not aware of

  • no wrong information .. its not coming to india

  • no

  • Made in india model too ?

  • Moto G6 Coming soon in India

  • I think Moto G5s looks better in build quality.Better body. Also no practice differences reading preview vs opinion in Moto G5s thread .Except if compass included.

  • In terms of processing power, the Kirin 659 is up ahead, it maybe as powerful as SD 626 or SD 630, but if we talking graphical power then depend on which Mali GPU the other phone uses, but the Adreno 506 is more powerful than Mali T860-MP2

  • Sorry, no NFC, no bucks for Lenovo.

  • I use both , for me AMOLED is a lot easier for the eye. And almost all of the flagship phones use AMOLED screens. There is a reason for that.

  • I also wait for this mobile...

  • When will release in india

  • G6 have or don't have a wide angle lens that the questions

  • anyone know how SD450 compares with kirin 658/659?

  • The segmet is just different, xiaomi,oppo,1plus main selling is cheap. Motorola,iPhone,Sony are about built quality, even hi price still more people that have good taste will buy

  • Moto G4 Plus? Have you ever opened one of those? They are flimsy, fragile phones. And battery lifespan is rubbish. No wonder it was discontinued after six months.

  • Sd626 should be the minimum. Redmi 5 users the sd450 and cost almost half the price. Moto have lost in the budget segment. Last good phone was the g4 plus. Sold well.

  • Yeah I'm sure a 256 GB Micro SD would still work with no problems. I'm sure someone on Youtube will test that asap.

  • Phones used to have a 32gb limit but when 64gb cards came out phones that supported 64gb can support up to 2TB theoretically .. cannot prove it but someone more experienced will know more sure that what happened .

  • Will this phone will have USB On-the-go? Thanks.

  • Don't buy it then.

  • I’m a little confused these specs say it accepts up to 256gb micro sd card and I’d like to know the source of that. Everything else I’ve seen indicates a 128gb limit. This Is very important to me!

  • Sorry have to disagree, luckily it isn't amoled. There is no advantage in using amoled, mainly because of hidden backlight flickering caused by pwm used in lighting every pixel. It causes headaches and people don't know why.

  • unfortunatelly the touchscreen is not AMOLED

  • Nah, if they are going to release G6S then it should be using 630 or 636, i think the 625 would make the G6S not worth the extra price. IMO they only need to use the 636, and bump the battery a little bit to make the phone worth to look at, there's not many budget phone that rocks 1080p 5.7 inch screen, using glass back and more importantly, using USB Type-C charging port.

  • Sbpadragon 450 is in fact downclocked 625(From 2GHz to 1.8 GHz) look at the spec sheet.

  • It will be lovely to see if G6S got a SD625 ;), seems like Mi A1 or Honor 7X is a strong rival to Motorola G6 at the price range

  • I don't know if it's worth the wait, because G5S was much more expensive at first compared to G5.

  • Hey guys, y'all think Moto g6s or g6s plus might come? It might be a upgrade version just like g5s plus so maybe we should wait?

  • Its very irritating to look at tthe bottom bezel. Instead of logo and the button sqeezed vertically, they could have dropped the physicall button

  • is it Coming with Aluminium/ metallic Frame?? please someone tell me

  • Beautifulness

  • specs and price are attractive

  • I had the Original Moto G and it's battery was also non removable,so what are you moaning about..

  • No LED notification again......

  • It is a nice device. Of course it has its downsizes. Too big bezels, not so powerful hardware, and perhaps it will be very expensive compared to its chinese siblings with non american name. But still it is a great option for people in Eastern Europe for example who want to buy a device from carrier with a contract. I believe it will be priced about 200-230 Euro which is rediculous price compared to Mi A1 or Redmi 5 plus, but still could be considered as affordable.

  • Xiaomi, sharp have proved that bezelless phones are possible with 16:9 phones also. well, 18:9 does not make phone size small, its the bezels.. infact it has replaced hard capacitive buttons with onscreen buttons (e.g. in Xiaomi phones).. then whats the use ultimately of extra pixels? everything now is marketing gimmik.. It just looks something different thats all

  • It will cost around 250€, I wouldn't call that a budget phone.

  • its supposed to be a budget phone so it makes sense to make some compromises

  • What are you talking about, I have a g3 or g2, and it has a non-removable battery ...

  • Good phone would recommend. If it have right price it will sell like ice cream on hot summer day.

  • Just released in India and should compete with the Xiaomi Note 5 and 5pro models.

  • So sad, battery wil not be removable anymore. I really dont like that, since G5 Plus this happen and sincerely is jut an expensive add-on. Since battery is the first thing on a phone to fail.....

  • I wont buy any phone with big bezel..no matter how good it will be. It is useless to carry big or tall phone in pockets. The trend is bezel less now.

  • Companies dont care much about customers or what they want. They seem to just only fallow the trend that everything must be big. I want low bezels phone to what will be not taller then 140mm but thats just a wet dream in this world we are living at. I am waiting to see what Meizu 15 size will be as it will have low bezels and only 5.46 inch screen. I care more of the phones size and hardware then some silly updates that want to update your phone in a time you really dont need it to go offline for 10+ minutes.

  • Agree, but 450 supports only 4.1 Bluetooth version, not 5, so it's not true that moto g6 will have 5 version.

  • Does it have removable battery?

  • I have a Moto X Pure Edition at 5.7... I would like to have top specs but at 5.3 or 5.5... just a little smaller. but I guess I am in a minority since companies keep making phones bigger and bigger...

  • NFC?

  • It is good,But it's come sd 450.

  • I don't think there is any relation with 18:9 display. It's just companies have started reducing side bezels to almost none have made 5.7 look like 5.5. But there are people who want phones with size 5.5 to be reduced as 5.3

  • Sad but true

  • Hopefully this will have a removable battery like the G5, would be a fantastic budget phone if it has that.

  • Looks like new motorola phones just go for sell only "as new" .No use improvements. No NFC.Maybe for lower cost in some market

  • well, it is 18:9 so its still a decent sized phone

  • In that case think again. Snapdragon 450 is a mid-range future with fast charging, 60fps for video recording, HEVC5, USB3 or 2:1 display support.

  • You are absolutely right.Ihope G6 will be max 148 mm or something like X4 not more.

  • Or 1080p 30fps is about 2018

  • I don't think microUSB 2.0 and Snapdragon 450 is about 2018

  • Phones are getting too big and too tall. What's wrong with a full screen 5.2/5.5 in a small form factor. I don't want 150mm+ devices!

  • Basically slightly downclocked Snapdragon 625. Actually superb chip compared to the old Snapdragon 430.

  • snapdragon 450?? R u kidding me??

  • 5.7 inch seriously ?? what happened to 5.2 or 5.5 inch.

  • Looking forward to this!
