Couldn't be more agree with you, had this device for 2 years and half, but have to change it rn since it doesn't support 4g. Really hard decision, been so much attached with it, hope lenovo could do great job with their moto series like google did to this device!

I rooted mine in 24 hours after I bought it. There wasnt any useable custom rom that time, so had to roll it back. Since then I used all CM variants, never had problems. Currently the 7.1 (Nougat) drives the phone, no issues. So maybe your problem comes from the SW, not the phone.

I know, it's an outdated phone, not really worth mention it. But... I use it carelessly: no screen protector, no silicon or other case, dropped many cases, & except the first drop, when my week old phone dropped by my GF, no cracks, no visible scratches except the first one. (last time I lost it from a motorcycle, missed the inside pocket of my jacket and it fall on the asphalt...) Maybe I'm just very lucky but this phone seems indestructible - within normal accidents. So it is a durable, still water repellent - I used to apply soap on it then wipe it down with wet hands. I used to just drop it in the kayak and sometimes it sat in a few mm "deep" water. The only problem is when the screen is wet that it react to water like touch so making photos more than a challenge until it wiped off. I changed OS on it the first day I had it, then I had to roll back as a working alternative wasn't avail. Since then tried a few, nowadays I use CM 13 which run flawlessly. In short it's a very well made, durable phone, I hope that my next phone (2k SD820 I hope) could/will be like that as one can see I don't change phones frequently and I'm more like an ab-user than a user. From my Moto G I think Gorilla Glass and water repellent coating is a must, but as falls (sh..t) happens, some additional protection won't hurt my next one.

Warid is 2G & 4G LTE only. This phone is 3G only. so Warid's 4G-LTE will not work on this device. Mobilink, Telenor & Zong's 3G will work. Hope this help

its easy to downgrade. 1st unlock your bootloader then flash twrp recovery you will get full instructions from xda site. after flashing twrp download this os file keep this file on external sd card or pc then go to recovery goto wipe formate data click yes this will completely removes user data so take backup before proceeding. then go back do factory reset now come to twrp home screen connect your mobile to pc or insert external sd from otg copy the os file from pc to mobile or install it directly from otg. your screen will flicker when booting but after going to sleep it becomes normal which is a kernal bug no need to panic. this is stock rom but all the bloatware was removed so os is pretty light gives you good battery backup. my phones always got heated up and i have charge my mobile two times on lollipop and MM but kitkat gives me best battery backup i can go easyly two days with lot of gaming.this os is prerooted also and no bugs because its stock

Lets be sane guys. When you were on KitKat, you all cried for Lollipop and now that you have got it, you guys are crying saying its not good/hangs/goes kaput!! There cannot be any instance when this phone can go bad unless there is a FORCED hardware failure (dropping, water, etc.) or you have installed some sort of unauthorized software for fun. Bought this phone since its release and until now this is far best phone i ever had. Best thing about Moto G is it gets OS updates as fast as NEXUS SERIES. Performance is still as its out of box, i through every heaviest app on it and it doesn't let me down ever. The only thing i dislike is its camera quality it isn't good as it should be.

Last month, I bought Lenovo A7000 just due to the fact that I was gradually tired of using the same phone. A7000 too is a great phone with 5.5" screen and other stuffs. But within 1-2 weeks of using a Lenovo, I was missing my Moto G and finally went back to it. Now I love it even more and will never part with it ever. Love you Moto G!!

I have bought the xt-1068 8GB model. Was a great smartphone until some day hanged and power off itself. It never recovered again until that day. I tryed flashing again (with no errors), unlocked the bootloader (sucessfully) but the phone just stay black screen after the animation world. I´ve read that after you unlock the bootloader all you things on the internal sd is erased, but if I enter in recovery mode and select the "aply zip from sd" option, I can see all directories. So, I think the internal memory stuck on some kind of read only mode without know solution. The service said that can not be fixed. :(

I was facing the same issue where the internet was not working.I changed my sim slot it is working now. Previously I was using slot-2 for my sim so it was not connected to the internet, now I changed it to slot-1 the exclamatory mark has disappeared and the internet is working now.

I've had it for a month. excellent for what you pay for, very good value, very good specs, works smoothly. waterproof- fell in a pond and was dried to fully working order again. what else can u ask for ? First off all whatever the ringtone u wants to keep should be moved to ringtones folder in media card. Its very simple if u r using ES file explorer. Just cut and paste in the folder. Reboot ur device and go for ringtone setting in sound and notification bar in setting. Touch the select ringtone u'll find ur tone there. I did the same its working.

Sounds like a carrier connectivity problem. This is generally caused due to dense population of smartphone in a small area.

Please turn on the usb debugging option. Use the app called MobileGo available on pc as well as android for copying songs etcc. Delete all songs from your moto g and then copy them back via MobileGo. I had the same issue where after connecting to pc and directly transfering songs to moto g via mycomputer caused most of songs unplayable in google music.

For those having battery problem after Kitkat 4.4 update like me, just want to share the solution which is Cache Partition Wipe Out and here's the instruction i got from Motorola Support: This will remove any temporary files that may be causing the problem, but will not delete your files or settings. With the phone powered off, press the VOL DOWN KEY for 2-3 seconds then POWER key then release. The device will display different BOOT OPTIONS Use the VOL DOWN Key to SCROLL to Recovery and VOL UP Key to select Tip: If the device reboots, you may have waited [too] long to make a selection, you will need to begin the process again. The device will display the Motorola logo and then the Android in distress (logo with Exclamation mark) Press and hold the VOL UP key for 10-15 seconds. This is not an issu. Ur right these problems occour because of wrong cutted sim cards. Dont cut make d micro sim by urself, go to shop n get it done. Else its a network problem. Guys don't blame the phone for what you don't know. 1.Custom Ringtones : Copy the file you want into Ringtones folder in the internal storage. Now select it as the sound for calls from Settings. Same way to use a custom sound for Notifications (like for messages, emails), put the required file in the Notifications folder and select it from Settings. 2. Internet connection issues : I dunno if it's supposed to work automatically. but it works after entering an access point for each sim. Settings > Wireless & networks> Mobile networks > Access point names. Press the Menu -> New APN Google and enter the APN info for the sim network you're using and select it as the access point once you're finished. Works perfectly. Works for both sims on mine (one access point per each). 3. Battery life: works fine for around 25 hours, enough for me :) But playing games drains the battery fast (Iron Man 3 for example). 4. Camera - Agreed, it's not the best around but for 5 MP it does a pretty good job. Remember you're getting an amazing device for a very low cost. Don't act like you're buying a Galaxy S5. 5. Nano coating - some idiot had mentioned it gets worn off after some time. FYI, it's not on the the back cover, the nano coating is inside. It won't wear off by simple usage. 6. Heating issues - Mine doesn't heat up unless I'm holding it for very long or playing games for a long time. I mean 30-40 minutes of continuous usage. 7. Yes its possible to keep any song as ringtone but u will need to download a file manager app from google play first. Motorola says that dey hav fixed the issues. I haven't faced any problems regarding call quality till date. Finally the battery- i basically use 2g internet with casual gaming when i am bored. I put the phone at charge immediately after i getup from bed in the morning and remove it from charge when i go to work (no time to see how much battery charged). And i guess this much charging lasts me the entire day and it lasts till the next morning till i wake up and put it on charge again. BUT.... BUT BUT BUT... If i use 3g internet then i have to charge it twice a day

The phn is great but there Could have been a few improvements in the phn which could have made it better. 1� The price difference between the 8gb and 16gb is not justifyable. The price difference between the 8gb and 16gb varient is almost 2000. Hi, I bought motog on 27-05 through flipkart. It has the IMEI starting with 3533. since that day there was no call network available for reliance GSM but the 3G network was doing fine. Since today morning, i am able to make calls but not able to connect to the internet. I have already done factory reset, change sim slots, switch off and on. Even checked *#*#4636#*#*. It has been selected as WCDMA Preffered. But i am unable to connect to the internet. I called motorola they told to go to reliance store and check the problem.If not, then ask for the replacement of mobile.

It's sad reading comments about Moto G 16G Dual variant bought in India. Luckily i bought my unit in a black market here in Philippines, yes the box has Made In China but my IMEI starts with 3550 and KitKat 4.4.2 out of the box. And im happy coz i didn't experienced any flaws on my device, overall this Moto G 16G Dual w/c cost only Php 9,200 last April is the best budget phone even until now. Android 4.4.3 isn't available in India yet. People who are talking about the 169MB thing, well it's the US version of this particular device as the build number bears the 'US' tag. Motorola hasn't announced any specific date regarding the availability of update for Moto users in India. So keep calm, the new update would be knocking very soon, might be in the coming weeks. That is, both SIMs will be on standby but when you are on a call on one SIDE the other will be off network i.e., not reachable or switched off. Hey! First download ES File Manager/Astro file manager from Play Store and then use an OTG cable and connect your pen drive. Open your file manager and there'll be a USBDisc option. Open it and it's done.

I wanted to buy Moto G. But now I have read a lot of sites where several problems are being reported like call drops etc. Ofcourse it has a lot of stunning features. But calling is the primary function right? Look at this link a lot of people are reporting the same kind of problem. I have used android phones before and no phone is like this. Moto g running on kitkat is shit. I am having many issues. My calls get droped, internet gets cut, phone restarts when I activate usb tethering. Also earpiece,mouthpiece or both will not work. All these issues occurs very often. All these started after a month I switched to kitkat. So I think its better to wait for an update.

Can anyone tell me the difference between "ALL" and "Highlight" under "Photos". I noticed that previously when I took photos with the phone it will go into "All" and "Highlight" but whatsapp photos,images etc.. would show only in "All". But now I cannot see even the photos from camera that I took about 4 to 5 days ago in "Highlight" but they are in "All".

guys help me out..while playing game yday the fone juz went blank screen.after that tried to start many times but no go.did charge the battery for whole night but ntng.checked in fastboot mode to recovery and got error "failed to validate system image: bootup fail" any ideas to sort this?
