Have the same problem after using it for 2years. Did all those stuffs,reseting,clearing cache n app preference. The phone is good value for the money (XT1068) but I must admit that the OS felt sluggish. After a while the phone would become very slow to respond which could be fixed by rebooting. At the time I was running official Marshmallow build from Motorola. In the end I gave up and decided to try different roms. At the moment I am running stock cynamogen nightly build of Nougat and very happy. Also I have gained a little bit more extra space of phone's internal storage. Instead of google launcher I use Microsoft's Arrow launcher. All in all I happy again using this phone. The fact that it's a 2sim phone is good for when I go abroad. I would definitely recommend flashing a different ROM.

Everytime i try to update, it shows error. And after restarting phone it says "update unsuccessful and no changes made to device." It's not a rooted phone. I haven't unlocked bootloader or done any modifications.

Guys by mistake my moto g2 has fallen from my hand and the touch glass has been broken but I don't have any issue wid the touch...but I want to get it repaired...I went to the local shop and he gave me the estimate cost of 1800..and said that he need to replace the pannel as screen is no separately available and the parts are duplicate without warranty...does any 1 know the service centre cost..and suggest me what should I do..thanks in advance

Worst ever phone that I have encountered as of now. I have used Samsung, Sony, Micro-max. Yeah there are always some problems with the phones but this one totally irritating. Micro-Max fared well than this one. 1) Phone's speed comes down to half of its original peed after couple of month or may be earlier in-case if you use Fb messenger, whatsapp, twitter daily. 2) It doesn't detect my sims at all. Initially it couldn't detect one temporarily. But then 1 sim had gone totally undetected for life time and the other one too is on its way to go undetected now. 3) Call you Bf/Gf now, call them after few seconds. Wait, you cant ! Contact is there right in-front on the screen but it wont make the call even if you tap the contact 100 times. Later search the same in CONTACTS, it will show:- No contact available. Now type first 3 digits of the number in the CALL, it will show the contact, tap now, but wont make a call. 4) This is proved. I have 3 more friends using same piece of sh*t. The phone charger gets heated up extensively and wont work anymore after 7 months properly. 5) Talk to your friend continuously for 15-20 mins and then you can cook omelet on the phone's screen. 6) This phone is hardly compatible to Android 5. Forget 6 !!!!

First I couldn't down load my photos, when it worked fine before, then I thought the phone stopped working. I changed sim ports and it was better. Then it seemed to work fine but still not downloading photos and now a couple of months later its not making calls or texts. Do I have a problem? Showed no signal but taking out sim and putting it in again fixed that and one text went through. Then nothing. Sim works fine in old phone. Any ideas?

DON'T DO THAT. If your device support upto 32 GB of external memory then using a 64 GB memory card will heatup your SD card in just few seconds. It may also lead to permanent damage of your SD card and wipe your all data from it. So on my opinion you shouldn't use 64 GB SD card.

I'm using this smartphone for 15+ months and what i can say is that, it is not a perfect phone but does a lot for me. the only thing i questioned about this phone is 1. battery life 2. camera quality. the first problem is well taken care of by Marshmallow..After marshmallow update i did a factory reset and now having no problem and moreover an awesome battery life.. Before i was used to get 3-3.5 hours of SOT if i use this for 22-24 hours, but now im getting 5hours for same amount of usage. In a sense its dramatic..Hope it will continue to do that..

Hi I noticed the same problem in one of my moto g2 when it was on lollipop and for your 2nd problem it seems to be a software issue, make sure all your apps are up to date and your device is on android 6.0 if not update and then a hard reset should fix both your problems for ever. if still occur contact service center. hope that helps.

Have had this device for almost exactly a year now, ever since my Acer E2 Liquid give up the ghost in less than 18 months. Its generally good for everyday use, though the aging processor does occasionally show. More recently, however, I've been having 2 problems in particular: 1) When I turn off the charger, the battery status still shows as 'charging' - a mild annoyance, though I recall waking up one morning with the phone boiling hot, probably because it fooled itself into thinking that it was still charging when it wasn't. This is fixed by plugging the charger back in and then taking it out again. 2) A more recent issue that happens a few times a week, on the home screen, the display becomes weirdly 'squashed' to the left, and this also makes the app drawer super narrow. It's pretty annoying, and requires a restart every time it happens in order to fix it. Should add, though, that apps aren't affected by this, and show as normal. Would be nice if someone could help especially re 2).

Disable the WiFi from Advance settings of WiFi. Select the option to "Never". It will help. Its advanced settings are found under WiFi settings and then click on the 3 dots at top right corner. Good Luck.

So i guess you havent bugged with the all-famous-battery-drainer-WIFI-BUG Even after turnning off the wifi the battery info shows that the power has been consumed by the WIFI .... WIFI reamins ON as a GHOST in MM 6.0 .. I suggest dont upgrade to MM from LOLIPOP ... lolipop was much better..

Please don't buy moto g2. I bought two phones for me and my brother from flipkart. Both the phones faced the problem of motherboard just after expiring the warranty. The service center is asking 70-80% amount of the phones price to replace the motherboard. I had the worst experience with this phone. Also the service center is all the time crowdy. Because lots of users are facing the problems. Wastage of money. Worst hardware.

Don't update OS I did from KitKat to lollipop now my moto g2 is like dying. Phone is too slow ,hang too much, screen used to freez often, it takes at least 5-7 minutes to type in Whatsapp or Google . It takes 2-3 minutes to start any app. I spended 13000 Rs. Now it feels like I throw it in dustbin.

Hi try a hard reset and make sure that u don't have lot of photos or videos in sd card. In my case my 2nd moto g2 was a slow as compared to my 1st moto g2 both on lollipop out of box but in 2nd phone there was almost 5000+ images more than half in HD so i decided to delete some and delete almost 2500+ images and phone performance improve. don't move apps in sd card let them install in phone memory. hope this help

hello try hard reset once u can easily find the step-by-step instructions on google or YouTube. its normal after a major software upgrade (ie 4.4 - 5.0.2) device starts hanging try hard reset and if u r using moto default charger it will take 4 hrs its normal. hope it will help

Got this phone in October last year, absolutely awful now, was good at first, but after a few months it became really slow, the battery is awful now, apps randomly crash, camera doesn't open, phone overheats and decides to reboot, takes much longer to charge, definitely not a long term investment, would only recommend any moto g as a temporary phone to get you through a couple of months, also the 8gb storage may not seem like much of a problem, but there's only 5.51 gb of storage that you can actually use, and even at that theres a minimum of about 400mb required available on the phone before it starts giving you an error message, I find myself cleaning my phone out every other day because of this. Can't wait for the Moto X Style to be released in September.

i have purchased my Moto g 2nd gen from US. Now i am using it in Mongolia. I needed a dual sim phone since i got into a new job. So decided to give it a try to Moto g 2nd gen dual sim. It is awesome. Im using my cellphone over 1 year. It still working smooth and nice. There is only one problem, here in Mongolia, there is no case, no screen protections at all.. I got it from ebay.com and it doesn't include any cases or additional backflip, nor the screen protections. Otherwise, this is the best phone for my android experience. this phone have solid build, droped hard few times and no crack's on the display only few minor scraches. for the downside of this greate phone is the Software android lollipop 5.0.2 (memory crash, overheat, signal lose, etc) that may be fix with future update in 5.1 or higher. i im stuck with it til i get enought money for new phone, i will rot and flash cyanogen on it and just hope wil work. my advice for future buyers: Buy something else like zenfone or alcatel idol 3 but avoid samsung brand that have custom skin witch kills ram and produce huge lag (even in flagships)

1. It's normal,with 500-750mA charger or in your laptop or PC. If you charge with 1A-1.5A (1.5 is max) the time is shorter,may be ~2 hours. 2. You have a good eyesight :) I saw them too,but you have to staring very close in a different angle in a low light conditions,to see them. Because it is HD does not mean that we should not see the pixels. There's many factors for that! 3.That's not a problems! ..and this is the 120$ smartphone man.What is your expectations?

The battery do heats up while playing game bt exiting all other task and playing do keep the phone cool well not long enough though bt still what do you expect. you r not going to get a perfect phone which will remain cool, will be superfast,water resistant , and all games run smooth in rs.12999. So, stop complaining . I love my moto g 2. all games run smoothly all you have to do is to keep a check on the ram and leave some free spaces in both internal and external memory.

Just wanted to share my experiences with this device 1. Tempered glass protector and clear protector makes touch unusable at corners but matte screenguard makes it usable no issues at all 2. My 1st moto g2 had dead pixels and built quality issues with gap between lower bezel and screen....my take on this small picky issues is that never tell Flipkart customer care the truth...they won't take replacement... Tell them you have serious issues like speakers not working,touch not working,camera not working...these problems get sorted out in a minute...this way I got my replacement 3. This is a battery calibration issue...to solve this completely discharge phone..after phone is automatically switched off keep it idle for an hour then charge the phone in switch off mode until full plus 1 hour more..then switch on phone and again charge for 1 hour... Issue will be solved... Mine is solved 4. Lollipop bugs are subjective one friend has serious app crashes while other has super smooth experience...I am still hanging on with KitKat, don't have the guts to upgrade to lollipop and take risks coz KitKat is working just fine for me

never buy this phone. I baught it for my sister it was working fine.but after two month it became dead. when I went to service center they told that the charger point was broken they repaired it I spent rs 850 on it but it was under warranty period. after repairing they blame that I poke the slot of micro SD card which is nit true. after coming home I checked headset kit ,camera, motion sensor, sim slot 1,microphone (which we speak ) is not working. when I charge the phone getting heat. now service centre saying that they had nothing to do. so don't buy this phone it will give you lots of pain.

Data services are not working on Moto g2 after upgrade to Lollypop. And there is no fix found by Moto G technical team so far. The way the technical team handled this situation is insane. When they know there are issues in new version.. 1) They should have taken out the upgrade from internet 2) Or They should have provided option to downgrade to KitKat 3) Or They should have issues a public notice not to upgrade 4) Or they should have released a work around for some of the problems 5) or they should have released a actual fix This show why these stupid companies not able to give competetion to companies like Apple and Samsung with very offordable prices. Hello MOTO, my first handset was MOTOROLA T190 and now after buying MOTO G 2nd Gen, I'm fan of MOTO, Superb hardware quality, great sound quality both in handset (the phone has stereo speakers one at top front and another one at front bottom, while playing highend games, the stereo sound effects like I'm hearing sounds from heaven) and headphone is awesome, feel like i'm hearing in a 3d theatre (box piece headphone is not that much good) , image stabilization, camera is 8mp but images look like of 10mp or more, I'm advising my friends to buy moto, The lollipop update is about 370 mb, I got update 4-5 days back, The lollipop experience is so cool, The interface of lollipop is awesome, but the style of displaying the contact list is not user friendly, I mean it does not indicate where the saved contact is , either in phone memory or sim card or in phone memory or in other social networks like facebook etc.., and the user cannot edit contacts very fastly, we have to practice it, multiple selection of contacts is not possible, and dialpad not contain sim1 sim2 direct dial button, first we have to enter dialing number and press call button and then it ask for selecting sim1 or sim2 it makes user boring, in calls history list, enable gestures like swipe left to message, swipe right to dial the same, tap to view options about that number, MOTO please fix this, and please make changes for this and give an update for this soon, except above points MOTO is awesome, MOTO's lollipop is awesome,

Pls dont check for the appearance.. Lollipop has better memory management when compared to Kitkat. 400mb free ram in lollipop whereas u get only 250mb in kitkat. Check for the performance.. Transition effects can be reduced in developer mode.. This gives you much more faster performance.

I am receiving a issue for SIM 1 slot - "Emergency Calls Only, No SIM - No Service", after received the L Update(5.0.2). It worked fine for nearly 30 hrs and suddenly started showing this message. Oh Come on dude.. You know what's the biggest advantage of Lollipop.. It's the new ART system.. And the RAM management is much more better.. U can keep Facebook and 3-4 more Social apps in background.. In KitKat you could not even keep 1 app open as it would have made the phone all the more laggy.. So u can't say that lollipop is a bad update..

Am using this phone for about 4 months now... I had a lot of multitasking issues with the phone in KitKat.. Apps like facebook and other social apps just used to slow down my phone.. Now that lollipop is running I have no problem keeping fb and other apps in the background.. Plus the battery backup has improved I feel like am using an iPhone.. No complaints at all.. In anyway.. Just some WiFi problem.. But it becomes Ok if we restart the download.. Rest of am Totally Impressed by this phone.. And of course it's the best phone I've ever had.. ;)

You will not able to download anything without rooting . (Tubemate etc.) It does not recognise your phone on pc even after downloading device driver managers from moto site . Tried with three diff. cables . Only watch and listen online .Also Tried with many wifi direct app transfers . Seems like Moto Engg's only know's how to fetch data .

The problem regarding automatic switching from 3g to 2g network can be easily solved using "network", an app on the play store. Select wcdma only from the drop down box when ur in dire need of 3g. I am using this mobile from 3 months, this phone automatically changes to 2g network when selecting 3g network and sometimes both network are not working well. I bought this phone last christmas and i compared it with my asus zenfone 5. im so happy with this phone compared with asus. this is a great bloat-free value for money phone! the differences of those two cps are very conspicuous. here they are: 1. the screen. the screen resolutions of the two cps are the same but i notice that moto g's screen is brighter than asus. asus screen is dimmer. i really enjoyed viewing HD photos on my phone than asus. 2. loudspeaker. the speaker is great compared to asus. great for me means louder and better to hear. 3. camera. the camera is awesome! actually it depends on the brightness of the surroundings but this rocks than asus. just the panorama needs to be worked. but for photographs and videos, moto g's camera is great! 4. i wont be telling more its for you to discover the greatness of this phone. so better have 1 now! hehe

I took my phone to service centre where they informed that motherboard of the phone is having problem and has to replace. I was not the one with such kind of problem there were around 20 like me with same problem. Motorola has cheated us by providing a defected piece. When I told the to provide me a replaced cell these idiots were not doing the same as well. I have lost my faith in Motorola and will never buy any product of this company anymore. Well there is nothing wrong with your phone. This is just a very common phenomenon that you did not hold your phone tightly attach to your face so that there is a small gap between your face and the phone surface, and this gap form a channel whick allows sound escape and feed back to the microphone. Dude the tweaks were 2 improve the performance of the phone if u want 2 know how 2 enable the ringtone and stuff like that.. It might be that u have mistakenly have pressed the volume button down that's why u mite have this problem.. But I mostly close the background running apps.. Cuz they eat up the ram and battery..

I have bought Moto G2 exactly a week back. I dont find any big problem so far. It lags sometimes hence this has 1 GB of RAM with 16GB of internal memory. RAM size could have been little bigger. I can see some comments like phone is hanging and other issues. It can be fixed by using optimizer. Every android phone has its own disadvantages. Among those Moto G2 is the best one.. Im enjoying it.. And I havent get lollipop update yet. But got some idea to download manually by googling.. Can someone tell me.. Phone will be slow if the version updated manually?

there are lots of issues with this phone... let me sum up my experience of 2 months- 1. battery backup decreases day by day. 2. charging time is longer than discharging time. 3. phone never hangs but lags a loooooot. 4.sometimes touch pad doesnt work at all and u need to lock n unlock the phone several times. 5. indian version didnt even got lollipop update. so buy this phone at ur own risk. when i bought the phone, for the first month it was running great without any issue but on the second month everything started. hope u get a better one coz there are many faulty pieces with flipkart and they are throwig it with very beautiful offers and many people who got this device in offers are getting these multiple problems... moto G(1st gen) and moto E are better alternatives and have no issues, rather go for them than to go for G2...

yes you can use a faster charger but be careful with the output not more than 500 ! output is different than speed of charging .also a faster charger may shorter the life of the battery in the long run . I bought this mobile 4 days back and I am Okay with this mobile. One thing I got shocked when seeing the total memory size. It was mentioned as 16GB but the total space it is showing as 13GB. While listening music, If i'm keeping my phone in vibrate / silent mode then, if someone calls during that time, music is not halting... i'm getting the caller details in screen and also i'm able to hear the music. Normally it should only take maximum 3 hours to charge from zero to 100% but if your phone takes more than that then it means either the charger is faulty or else the phone has some issues.it is a good idea to get it checked on a authorized service center.

look out for oem chargers i.e. original manufacturer chargers like samsung, htc, sony, lg. i have lg charger rated at 5V-1.2A output. always look for the output, almost every phone charger gives users 5V but thats not enough. Look for next digit. If its 1A or higher its fine then , but if its between 500mA to 900mA, then its a slow charger. Original chargers are safe to use, bit expensive than the unbranded one, but safe. u dont want to blow ur mobile for few hundred bucks.

Good call volume and speaker output...No lag despite of just 1GB RAM, I havnet played any games though but all apps open instantly..Perfect size, very compact, the rubberized back panel gives a good grip...Battery life is ok, I get around 10 hrs of usage on 3G and dual sim with a single charge, Yes it does charge very slowly, however you can use better chargers if you are in a hurry,, I have used Zenfone 5, Huawei Holly, before this and Moto G is anytime better than the other two phones in all aspects. Camera is good for this segment..eagerly waiting for Lollipop :-) So if you are looking for a phone to use for a long time..go for it!!1

The charger which came with MOtO G2 is only 550mah, which is really poor and not satisfactory, so i searched on net about Turbo Charger and came to know that MOtog2 supports upto 5v-1.5A (ampere) Charger and i am charging with my Dell tablet charger which is 5v-2A charge . Dont worry phone will take charge to its max capacity which is 1.5Amps and wow my phone gets Full charge within 1h 25 mins to 1h 40min. You can use Samsung charger also but please read it must written 5v-1A or 5v-2A. Charger with 5volts capacity must be used not above then this. I am getting about 22hrs of battery backup with mixed uaage of 2G, 3G and wifi also i connect my Bluetooth headset all the time so dont worry guys just enjoy your device. And Yes desperately waiting for Lollipop Update

Movies are played flawlessly but you have to download third party app MX player etc.., sound is also good, battery backup average....

Instead of fighting just understand the facts. There are different types of people with different thinking and company has to attract consumers as much as possible. So the main motive behind the launch of moto g 2014 was that some people wanted to have bigger screen and a card support plus a better camera. however company did not know that there are people who still want the older dimensions. It would have been far better if they could have fixed a bigger screen in same dimensions but after all its not just about screen. they had to change a no. of things. So when company later on realized that there is still demand for older version they kept it there in market. which means both 1st and 2nd gen are available at flipkart with some price difference. in fact it is good for 1st gen lovers that they are now getting it at a better price. so its just a matter of need. Both have their own pros and cons it depends on user which one suits him the best.

Moto g and moto e are very good phones,but moto g 2nd gen has many problems in it.Many are praising it just because others are praising it. I got a moto g 2nd gen from flipkart on 22nd of October and replaced it twice,but every time I got a defective piece.Don't understand whether flipkart is sending me defective pieces or the product itself is second class. These were some of the issues that i faced:- 1.The touch screen is not responsive at all. 2.The ear piece produces cracking sound during every call,even at mid volume. 3.The second sim slot looses network frequently. 4.sometimes on a call,our voice fails to reach the opposite person. 5.If we play subway surfers continuously for an hour,then this mobile shows its original colors,It starts hanging very badly and the whole mobile gets heated up. 6.The available 400 mb ram falls short during heavy multi tasking. 7.Battery life is just average.Lasts only 4 hours with 3g and half an hour of gaming.Battery lasts a bit more when on wifi. 8.Takes ages to charge with the provided charger. 9.If we use a high power charger the touch screen starts misbehaving. 10.Comes in 2 variants.One has a good display and the other has a pinkish display.Please check yours. 11.Gives a bad smell through its usb port. 12.Worst service centers ever seen.They provide late but costly service. The good points are. 1.It has stock android. 2.Quick in getting android updates. Nothing else. I am not against any brand.I have used moto g and also moto e and liked them very much,But this moto g2 made me disappointed.I have written these issues just because i have faced them,not to discourage anyone from buying this product. So guys,if you purchase this mobile,check for the above issues.If you find none of them then you have got the perfect mobile,if you find any of the issues go for a replacement.

Original Moto G was an Extrem Good phone, the 5MP camera was the only (but big) problem whit it. Now here we have Moto G 2014, and its a gigant POS. First of all it is ugly, thick, hardware components are the same (no S410 SoC, etc, only the camera is better), and it is fare too BIGGGG to use, or to buy. I am very dissapointed with moto g. Worst phone I have ever used. Battery life is garbage. Battery drains very fast while browsing, gaming etc even when i disabled background sync, location services etc. I have even kept the brightness very low. Does not last even half a day. Even i used battery savers, greenify but still did not improve battery life. Despite having dual stereo speakers, the volume output is very low. This phone does lag. When i press the home button, it stutters when returning to homescreen from app tray. lollipop is the last update for moto devices. After that no more further updates.

Moto G2 is a great phone. Don't know about Samsung neo as I haven't used it but I have used other samsung phones and I am giving you my personal opinion...don't ever buy samsung phone. Battery backup is average will last for one day with normal use without heavy gaming but I am getting 1.5 days of battery backup by using apps like DU battery. All songs in my card are 320 kbps at least. I am not worried about music through loudspeaker as got it rectified by disabling equalizer but call clarity is not good as it makes crackling sound and buzzing on low frequency sounds. Have asked for replacement and waiting for the next piece.

Download battery doctor and complete its trickle charge within 4 days on a week..after 100% charge . Backup increase already. 10%draining is common in every mobile.

Htc 816 also produce distortion. While installing new apps. Inbuilt apps of htc does not have band equalizer . For moto g2 . Bit if u off its equalozer during loudspeaker then u feel a pleasant stereo ssoun like HTC.
