Motorola Moto Z2 Force - User Reviews

  • Honestly, the battery will be better than x style as well, since it has a much more efficient processor, a smaller and more efficient OLED display.

  • In my opinion , Z2 Force is more better and powerful ... maybe the only one disadvantage is the battery as it's a little low but we have the Moto Mods . it's amazing :)

  • is this phone better than y style. unfortunetely my moto x style diad after 2.5 years, their batery was not usuable, i let changed this istem but after that i had more problemlos. one day it was not possible to gert any reaction after touch the screen. i tried to to restart the device but during booting the moto logo does not dissapear and i could not going to start menu. i destroyed and now i wait for this device. i ordered this one because this is the only moto which has approx. the same tachnical values. i do not understand why new motos are not better in regard of techinical values as moto x style.

  • Confirmed. i have had my phone since Aug 2017. My screen has been peeling from the upper left. It's been like this for approx 8 months.

  • Where are you getting your info on this "4 year" warranty regarding the peeling screen issue?

  • My screen has been peeling a bit in the upper left corner. I try not to tug at it!

  • Same here. Android Pie on Moto z2 force

  • yes my dear friend . it's amazing . already i am working as technical engineer in telecommunication company , Z2 Force still amazing , maybe the only concern is life battery , it's just not the perfect but average

  • I just received update on global z2 force.

  • Looks like Android Pie update is only on Verizon

  • Which model do you have?

  • Just received an OTA update to Android 9 with June Security Update. The phone works super fast after the update. Yes it took a terrible long wait but I think it was worth it

  • This Phone Got Pie Why you don't have mentioned it here 🤔🤔

  • Did you face any issues? I've heard it has a screen peeling problem. And does its camera still work same as it did 2 years ago?

  • I am going to buy moto z2 force for pubg game but this phone is not enough plz tell me what will i do???

  • Anyone know what cat is the lte and how much speed tor download

  • Dears ... i have this phone for 2 years now .. i adore it . it's amazing . it's Just MOTO ;)

  • As per latest report Motorola z2 force will not get android pie update except Verizon models in USA and also listed on the USA Motorola website that z2 force will remain on android Oreo.

  • Bro it's not that bad. Ok it's not perfect but for the price of 250e. I have 4-7 sot depends if it's on wifi or 4g internet.

  • This phone sucks, don't buy it. It is very slow, camera sucks and is overrated, and the battery life sucks bad. Not worth the flagship pricetag.

  • android 9 soak test has begun in India. but still it will take atleast one more month

  • Phone is good but when update it to February security update battery become terrible. Someone else have this problem ? Now I have 4 hours sot, and before 6 sot. What is with Android 9? Is battery better on it?

  • sprint version is start to update moto z2 force in 9.0 pie

  • It is a shame. Motorola was the closest one to the Nexus or Pixel devices with almost clean Android with fast update but what bothers me is that the updates aren't as fast as they used to be. Even worst, Samsung Galaxy S8 has already received android Pie.

  • when pie becomes obsolete

  • Does any one know when is going to be updated to Andriod 9?

  • first find your device career Sprint/Verizon/AT&T .which one then forcefully update your firmware using adb fastboot .have a look at youtube

  • Bullshit I've bought 2 motos here in the past couple years and I sit here with over 1000 worth of useless paper weights. Can have them fixed for 200 more each, Motorola is garbage any more, don't worry when it hits screen peel will be the least of your worries

  • I have purchased z2 t mobile butt this is stuck on 7.1.1 and when i update the device failed caution what can i do

  • Wow. This phone is amazing. The black version I got ATT/Cricket model just came in the mail on Valentines day. Thanks to Moto Insiders for hooking me up with enough points for this and a power pack. Lots of set up to do. But recently had a good experience with the charging power of the included TurboPower Adapter with USB C cable that charged from about 30 to 100% in just 30 minutes. I've had screensaver and moto display turned off and optimized whatever apps i could. And use standard mode too. Had to take some time to adjust from the vivid mode. It's also the second Android I've owned in many years from the initial Moto Atrix 4G I had in Sept. 2011. Between 2013 and 2019, I've been using 3 different Windows devices. But what I like about the Z2 Force is I can customize it to the Windows 10 Metro UI look I've always loved with the Launcher 10 and Transparent Screen Simulated app.

  • What about reviews AT&T carrier of z2 FORCE? ??? PLZ TELL ME. because i want purchase this device.

  • As I Just Purchased this Last week and updated it ti Oreo yesterday and Security Patch level is November it Clears the Pie is being tested and will be on the way till February End :)

  • Any news on the android pie update for this phone......?

  • Thank you!

  • Tried the 5t awesome.. But the z2 is a greater deal of awesome especially with jbl headphones.. Poweramp is definitely a must.. Mods are essentially excellent. Good work.. Only down points.. No headphone socket and oreo 8.0 update made Gmail almost whitey. Restart WiFi and hey presto.. Might be the mixed mode WiFi setting on my sky fibre router.

  • Got one for myself and my spouse. Biggest regret I've ever had. After the first six months, nothing but issues. Doesn't stay connected to WiFi, doesn't stay connected to Bluetooth. The single most infuriating device I've ever had.

  • I have it...bought in USA verizone in September 2017 and for now still work like first day no problem at all...i am from Serbia, EU.....

  • Anyone used this phone for more than 1.5 years? Is it working okay?

  • stop listening to all the negetive reviews posted about the screen peeling off issue. I have been using this phone for the past eight months without a single problem. just apply the screen protector on the phone right away and buy the extended battery pack to enjoy the full potential of this phone. Motorola is always late to push updates but it is still getting all the updates nevertheless.

  • Confirmed. T-Mobile just replaced mine under warranty because the entire screen was dislodging from the metal chassis. The rep at the store referred to the battery expanding inside the phone and forcing the screen off of the phone. I'm not sure he knew what was happening.

  • More than likely, it is either one of two things. It seems that most phones, might, come with a screen protector already pre-installed, it is either that, that is peeling, or 2) That it could be possible that it might actually be the "screen". Motorola has a 4 year warranty on the "screen", because of the "shatterproof". So the top layer of the "screen" does actually come off, because it can be replaced, so if you dropped your phone, and it actually just so happen to crack or break, Motorola would replace it for you, for free. So, basically, they just end up peeling off the top layer and replacing it with a new one. So if the other users' claims are true, it would definitely be something that can/could check with Motorola about, and see if they could just replace it for you.

  • I guess the best way is to apply a piece of tempered glass immediately when you unbox it.

  • does it comes with screen protector ?

  • I read that this phone had screen issues. Is that why it's priced so low? People complained that their screen was *peeling off* from multiple sides. Can any user confirm this issue?

  • in iran they release a normal slot you can use two sim and memory card at the same time. but in my opinion that way it will destroy battery life time with that small battery

  • Thanks

  • Stop giving bad review about Moto z2 force to me is the best Phone and better than iPhone x

  • Thank you

  • Thank you

  • It is Hybrid. You can either use 2 SIM and no SD CARD or 1 SIM and 1 SD CARD

  • Its hybrid. Atleast for indian 6gb model

  • I believe it's a hybrid-sim.

  • Guys would anyone know if the dual SIM version is a real dual SIM with dedicated micro SD slot or just a hybrid slot? Thanks

  • Try Google camera port for z2 force it will outperform note 8 for sure

  • Unfortunately the SD card does not have a dedicated slot, it's a hybrid SIM/SD slot. If you need 2 sim cards *and* SD card, you have to go for a special version of Z2 Play (be careful - there are also single-sim and hybrid-dual-sim versions!)

  • yes i totally agree with You, Xiaomi have better hardware (if we care about the price) than all of them, for excample just compare a xiaomi 128/6 or 256/8 price with other brands, i did it with s9+ or mate 20 pro, for me the rate of cpu and gpu and ram is much important that anything else, i wanted to bhought it but changed my opinion and i want to buy xiaomi models maybe mi 8 or f1. please if you think there is other powerful brands like xiaomi with close price just tell me, Thanks.

  • Both and compact :)

  • xz1 or Moto Z2 Force?

  • Mine was February 2018

  • No xiaomi servecis are better

  • Do not but this phone, vibration randomly stops working and OLED Burn in on screen is a real issue.

  • What is the manufacturing date for the units that are being sold in BBD sale on Flipkart?

  • Pathetic build quality... Zero resale value.. too much crowd in service centers. I rather stick to motorola only.

  • Yup. Bought it too in the bbd sale. Awesome performance and display

  • With a decent camera and battery life, a phone at the price of 17.5k+10% hdfc offer is great. Phone is performing really well with powerful snapdragon 835 chipset.High Display resolution is also one more added advantage. Overall really worth to buy in this price range.

  • in US version (sprint) z2 force you may not need mod with low to moderate use. it comesalmost 1 days for low and close to full day on moderate use.

  • U just realise that, I was note user, but found out motorola more sophisticated than galaxy, better quality. 90years is long research, innoviation more than iphone, galaxy and nokia combine

  • I was lucky to get this phone brand new for 290 Euros. I have 6GB RAM 64GB storage Europe version, but I use this in the UK. The phone is very very very fast (much faster than my Note 8 with 6GB RAM with sometimes lags). Z2 force with 6GB RAM no lag REALLY in real world. YouTubers say Note 8 does not lag when they get a brand new Note 8, but after 3-6 months of daily use, that is the real test. Downside/weakness is the camera is very bad compared to the S8, Note 8, S9 etc. I can compromise on the very average camera because of how fast this phone is and will use this as a secondary phone to a camera powerhouse in the future. If you do not need an amazing camera this is a good phone. The Turbopower battery mod is a bit expensive but is a must have I think. The battery life is incredible with the battery pack and the battery will list 2 days easily with the Turbopower pack installed.

  • Will the phone give good battery life without a moto power mod or last for a day. Is it worth to purchase it without a moto power mod?

  • No dual volte

  • not

  • Will i get a free turbo power mod with the phone itself in flipkart's big billion days or not.

  • dual volte ??

  • Camera is not ur priority go for z2 force and in other aspects it best for ur buck no no no it's more than enough for this 17.5k and also had HDFC BANK 10% discount...

  • It depends on what is your preference?

  • Go for Poco..

  • i am also in same confusion.....but I slightly tilted towards Moto Z2 force

  • better looks,better performance,better battery,new phone,android pie will come soon,better front camera,mayyybe better back camera,(just maybe),and for this all things,go for pocophone.obviously

  • Getting @ 17.5k INR(236 USD) Worth it? Or Should i go with poco f1?

  • I'm aware of these report. But I'm in lucky. I have mine since December 2017 and the screen is perfect up to now.

  • I wish this wasn't happening but it is.

  • Are you serious? The screen is a disaster, the web is flooded with user complaints of screen scratches and the crappy shatter shields peels off within a short amount of time.

  • Yep, all Moto Mods work with every single Moto Z phone.

  • Thanks dear

  • Of corse

  • Can someone tell me that moto mods of z1 can be use in moto z2??

  • Can you please be more specific?

  • I have it I love the phone, but if your get it get a screen protector right away it does scratch easier than you're used too but it just takes a screen protector.

  • Bro it is shatter proof coz it is made from plastic and plastic is soft and tends to scratch easily

  • Very worst performance.... photos and videos getting loaded slowly... waste of 6gb ram.. camera quality is also bad... battery getting drained very badly....very much disappointed with this moto z2force...no value for money

  • Hi friends, I have a Moto XForce that works well on System 6. Is there a new update for System 7? Do you recommend me to update it? Will MotoVoice stay in System 7 as it is in System 6? Does the performance of the battery become better? Who has the i...

  • Very good phone....durable as well

  • This is my first time owning a Moto Z2 so far its an impressive phone.

  • It's big invention for the palm. Magical additions. High utility. Would love to have it.

  • The camera both phones are good, but it trails behind other current flagships phones. I would say the Z2 tad better because of the dual camera. About the battery I would recommend the Z2 because the Note 5 is 2 years - half and most likely the battery is not what is used to be... The Z2 is newer so more battery endurance.

  • Thank you and how is the camera and battery life on Moto z2 Force?

  • Moto Z2 of course, more powerful and current hardware. The Note 5 is good but it's quite old and don't think it will get any major update like Oreo, in the other hand, the Moto Z2 is newer so it's likely will get android P.

  • Guys need some advise, which device should I purchase? Samsung Note 5 or Moto Z2 Force?

  • Call t-mobile for net world unlock code.

  • My mobile does not receive oreo update

  • Price is now $500 directly from Motorola/Lenovo and the 8.0/Oreo update has been released.

  • If you are looking for a legal way, your best bet is to have t-mobile unlock it for you, check their website for more info.

  • Awesome phone, get 2 battery packs, charge one at home and use the other during the day, you wont have to plug it in, to charge again. I typically replace my phones because of cracking the screen, this has with stood the test of time... so far. I got a IQ shield to protect the protector lol. Only because moto charges ~@25 for theirs, and they stopped making the Gen1 protector already, so I don't rely on replacing it through them. Its too big to easily use it with one hand, but its been worth it, having along lasting batter solution and a rugged phone without the need for a case.

  • Had the phone since Sept of 2017 and love it ! It's incredibly fast: the only waiting you have for a game or app is when its downloading. Installing any game/app is instantaneous. Camera app loads and snaps quickly. A few weeks ago I got the Oreo update and its made the phone even faster ! The Moto Mods are really cool too, and probably the main reason why I bought the phone to begin with. Motorola had a promotion for the projector when I got the phone and I also bought the JBL 2.0 speakers. The projector is beyond awesome and works better than I thought it would, the speaker is OK (and I say that simply because the regular speaker is really decent, so I don't use the speaker mod as much as I thought I would). Reception is much better than I thought it would be as well, and the phone is 5G ready (whenever Sprint decides to roll it out). I have LTE wherever I go. I've read many reviews where folks have experienced numerous issues with their phones and I can't say that I've ever ran into any personally. As of today, the phone runs better than the day I got it, but thats because of the Oreo update. I'd recommend the phone to anyone. ALSO the shatterproof screen has saved my butt many times. Like last night for example, I dropped the phone face first on the concrete in a parking garage. Luckily I do have a small case on the phone, but usually that kind of impact would shatter a normal smartphone screen. I don't have to worry about that with this phone.

  • I got mine from T-Mobile but I want to use it with another carrier, I am not going to use it in the USA now, anyone know if there is a way to unlock it? I would really appreciate it, thanks! And so far... it´s an awesome phone! I used to have a Samsung J7 Pro, but this Moto Z2 Force is way better than the Samsung so far!

  • Why bro

  • this phone is having lot of problems. dont buy.

  • Nokia 8 is for 28000

  • OnePlus 5t isn't shateer proof that was why I should buy z2 force it's Avery amazing model to every one

  • Should i buy it?

  • HonorV10, Yayyyyyyyyyy !!!!

  • Offcourse moto z2 force is better because it has snapdrangon 835 moto g5 plus has 625 but i will suggest u oneplus 5t

  • This phone Release in india after 1 year same Moto. Now Brazzless/Borderless 18:9 Phone trend. No Oreo as Project Update schedule & Price of Rs. 34000is too costly. Go to buy if you are fool. I am planning to buy and I have only Two option now. OnePlus5T and Honor V10. Both are good in all function and it has cheaper than Moto Z2 Force.

  • Why no add OIS feature, what is wrong?

  • 5.5" screen is small?

  • Display is small and price is high

  • Depends on your budget, Moto G5s is for mid-range and Z2 Force is the high end.

  • its a bomb .. wow great fone by all sides .. super fast wid killer look.. after moto z play i love moto z2 .. great work mototola thnx for dis machine ...

  • Excellent experience. 2 mods I like the best. Camera mod & projector mod. Brilliant work.

  • I have to buy a phone and I'm confused at to which is better. The Moto Z2 Force or the G5s plus. They both have great reviews. Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

  • Did you have any peeling issues? Recently bought z2 force and am now quite worried about it getting peeled off :(

  • I thought that too. Truth is, it's so much more efficient I get 5 1/2 hrs SoT with 21% battery left when playing CPU/GPS intensive games like PoGo or Ingress. In my book, that's astounding! I thought I'd be buying the TurboCharging mod within a week! Like cameras, it's not just about the numbers.

  • Must have - At least 4 GB Ram, prefer 6GB -XT1789-06 has 6Gb. Pixel/S8 doesn't. - At least 64 GB internal memory -XT1789-06 has 64Gb. Pixel/S8 does. - Micro SD slot -Moto Z2 Force does. S8 does, Pixel doesn't. - Snapdragon 835 ,Exynos 8895 or any up coming/current hi-end chipset -Moto Z2 Force does -835 chipset Pixel/S8 does. - Minimum 5 inches display and minimum 1080p resolution -Moto Z2 Force. Pixel/S8 does. - Somewhat durable -Moto Z2 Force has has the ace here with Shattershield. Unless you want it waterproof. Pixel/S8 waterproof. Really want - Front facing stereo speaker -Not in Moto Z2 Force. - Any fast charging technology -Moto Z2 Force does. Pixel/S8 does - Can be updated to Android O -Moto Z2 Force does (mine even has already). Pixel/S8 does. - Ability to flash custom rom -Moto Z2 Force does (I believe). Not sure about Pixel (why would you want to)/S8 Good to have - Wireless charging -Moto Z2 Force does - add (an overpriced imo) back cover mod. S8 does, Pixel doesn't. - Decent camera -Moto Z2 Force does. Impressed with it, but it's not a Pixel. Pixel/S8 does - AMOLED display -Moto Z2 Force does. Pixel/S8 does I have the Z2 Force and I love it. Same kind of specs as the Galaxy Note 8 without the Samsungware.

  • I have this phone. I love it. I had a Moto X Force before and the screen got scratched, even dented, but never smashed. So far, I'm being better at looking after my Z2 Force! Scratching the screen is definitely possible, but far less easy to do than the X Force. If you are worried about that, get a screen protector. The biggest surprise for me was the one button nav feature where you get your screen back and use the F/P reader to mimic the Back/Menu/Home/Google Assistant buttons and the on screen buttons are gone. Other than that, the other Moto Functions (like "Twist for Quick Capture" - so good, the Pixel has it now and "Approach for Moto Display" and the others) are all still there. It's narrower than the X Force so easier to use 1 handed. Battery performance is fantastic. 5 1/2 hours of Ingress SoT with 21% remaining still, so despite it being a smaller battery than I'd like, it's exceeding my expectations. You guys should use Pokemon Go as a battery test! Moto Mods are absolutely flawless in their implementation. It also benchmarks very very well (I have the XT1789-06 6Gb RAM/64Gb internal version). On top of all of that, it just got Oreo. The camera is better than any Moto I've used before it and is definitely very usable, where before it has been quite hit and miss for quality. At the end of the day, it's not as good as the Pixel camera though. Very very happy with it. Just a shame it's so hard to buy (it's not available in Australia in any form). There should be more marketing for this thing. It's fantastic.

  • Yes, the screen is what stoped me fron getting one, it scratches due to being shatter resistant, it is not cristal as other ones, so, no shatter-easy to scratch, scratch resistant-shatter prone

  • right u r.

  • I think Xiaomi 6 and Oneplus 5 good for custom rom

  • Bring this state the art of engineering world wide please, lenovo marketing real bad, motorola seen a lot in hands of engineer & IT but the sales not doing well

  • I got this phone and its a really good phone, I just got the Moto mod projector, and I must say, I'm glad I did, the picture is clear, and bright, down side the battery of the projector mod is not that great

  • Your only other option would be doing online shopping, like eBay. If you don't like online shopping, then you're out of luck unless someone actually has this model and is willing to sell it to you or something

  • I'm in the U.S. and I'm looking for the 6GB/128GB storage version of this that is compatible with T-Mobile. Can someone help me?

  • Not a bad phone at all. My major issue with this phone is the screen. It scratches up too easy no matter how careful you are with it. Unfortunately, I'm not really a fan of screen protector or phone case. I like to just savour the beauty of a device without having to hide it under a case or screen protector. I hope Motorola will fix this issue in time because of peeps like me or consider including a screen protector in the box. Asides that, it's a solid phone, very fluid, doesn't hang at all, the moto display is cool but not perfect because it often comes up by itself. The camera is good too but definitely not a competition for Samsung galaxy S8+. The apps for the depth enabled pictures still need a lot of work. The mods too, I'm not sure if they are available for sale in my country (Nigeria). Lastly, when is the device getting Android O update?

  • Excellent experience. No hangs. Beautiful camera and perfect slow motion mode

  • You were lucky! :)

  • I got mine online cyber Monday for $300 also T mobile.

  • Motorola phones are superb, they are faster and has strong battery life. If it is not Motorola then forget it.

  • $375 FullPrice in TMOBILE now!!! It's awesome!!!

  • Worth more than iphonX price, do see all mod, tauchless control, this innovation better than any iphone and samsung, not mention iphobe battery and lxd problems, not 8 freeze. It just update slower than xperia

  • hi, if you can buy a new moto z2 force for 550$ is it worth it.

  • yeah boii.. im very confused in your comment..

  • Boiii what the hell are you doing to phones that get them that destroyed in 3 months like wut o.o

  • Just like any other phone...Bluetooth speaker? Battery pack? Projector? Gotta but them in addition to your phone as well. At least with mods, I don't have to carry around a separate speaker.

  • If you are a fan boy of screen protector and always using tempered glass on the screen then avoid this phone because of flexible shattershield .. so Tempered glass is not applicable on the screen.

  • And yet again that ugly design.

  • They want more money from you (buy the mods...)

  • when it will launch in india?

  • camera photo/video stabilization ? smaller Battery (3500 in Z1) - less life ?

  • when moto z2 force come in india

  • is it 3.1 USB for data transfer?

  • Your opinion on this is junk. Their cameras are fairly new and thile one on this phone is particularly good.

  • Your taste is bad, but blame the camera. Go visit dxomark and find out just need mid moto G plus to achieve same score as iphone 6s

  • You have to buy a mod for wireless charging.

  • i love motorola but their cameras are just plain junk and do not compete with iphone or samsung... its sad really

  • Motorola make a great phone.i like the design and the hardware. The problem only i dont like this phone ui.if they can change it better next update i definitely want to buy this phone

  • Why avoid Samsung? Can you elaborate?

  • 1 - XZ Premium 2 - HTC U11 3 - Z2 Force --- Avoid Samsung.

  • Nice battery.

  • Hey guys, how about release date in Europe? And if the US version Z2 Force would have 4G network connection in Europe?

  • Hey guys, how about release date in Europe? And if the US version Z2 Force would have 4G network connection in Europe?

  • We have a phone torture sadist over here!

  • i have the regular z force and completely destroyed it, broke all the glass on the back, the camera glass, half the touch screen dosent work, and i broke and bent the mettle around it. im getting the z2 thanks to the warranty i have now. i hope that the z2 will survive more then 3 months

  • I have a moto z the regular z all I can say is that everything is perfect for my needs, gamming surfing etc. design is awesome so unique and that look makes me say "oohhhhhmmmm" so nice in the hand and the camera with OIS is so so so awesome. No heating at all even I play heavy games, modularity is the one that I need and this is the right phone for me. from g, e, x and now the moto z been using this brand sense high school days. :D

  • Great phone. Saw video and beat s8 on almost every speed comparison. Very well built. Half the people I know break their screen in 2 years. Shatter proof is great. . Just put on a $6 tempered glass and dont worry about it. Wish the battery was bigger, but battery mod is great and easier to replace than replacing non removable battery. Battery easy lasts all day. Bet any of you Samsung lovers that in2 years I will not have cracked screen and battery life will better.

  • I bought this phone because locations of buttons are perfect. I had Droid 2 and complained about location of button nearby center before. They listened my opinion or not but Motrola is the only one company who makes phones with decent location of button. I think all the reviews should consider it. For instance, Samsung is amazingly bad. We can't put the phone on any brackets because it has buttons on both side. So far I like this phone. Any battery gets bad over time so I will purchase external battery in the future anyway so I do not worry about battery being small.

  • I just received my Moto z2 force and I want to give my honest opinion on the phone itself after a day of usage. 1. Battery life is above average I received the phone on a full charge, so once I left my house at 10am to start my day, I used my phone like my others. I am a somewhat heavy user, with Instagram, Snapchat (you know how much battery that drains), and Slither.io, along with a few other non-intensive apps. I also listened to some music and used Google. Once I arrived home around 9pm, my phone had 21%. I know, battery will degrade over time but it most likely won't on a huge margin. So far, this phone lasts longer than my previous ZTE zmax pro which had a 6" 1080p lcd screen, Snapdragon 617, and 3400map battery. 2. Shattershield is superb! I mean, it straches easier than other phones as I already have a permanent one in just a day, but I have peace of mind that my phone won't break anymore. This was my main reason for buying this phone (when you have broken 7 phones in 2 years, you know you have a problem). So far, loving it, and I'll love it even more once I get a screen protector. 3. Overall specs are amazing! That's no surprise due to the Snapdragon 835, dual 12mp camera, and amazing OS, with Moto add-ons (Moto display is a livesaver!). Nothing bad to say in this part. 4. Headphone jack removal I don't listen to music quite often, and if I do, I already have a pair of Bluetooth earbuds so I can't argue much in this part. 5. Jelly-effect scrolling I'm not sure if I have bad eyes or not but I don't notice anything like that when scrolling through Twitter or Instagram or anything. Screen is perfectly fine, but hey, it could happen to another person. Conclusion: I love this phone! Shattershield display, battery life, stellar performance, it's all great! I'm not really into motomods, but the free projector changed my mind and I'm glad that I'm getting it next month. Overall, a great flagship, and if you're looking for a neat flagship, definitely take a look at this choice

  • Wait for note 8 / V30

  • oneplus 5..or if you have more budget then go for S8/S8+

  • Can someone enlighten me? I'm looking for a new phone. And I can't make the decission. Below is my criteria Must have - At least 4 GB Ram, prefer 6GB - At least 64 GB internal memory - Micro SD slot - Snapdragon 835 ,Exynos 8895 or any up coming/current hi-end chipset - Minimum 5 inches display and minimum 1080p resolution - Somewhat durable Really want - Front facing stereo speaker - Any fast charging technology - Can be updated to Android O - Ability to flash custom rom Good to have - Wireless charging - Decent camera - AMOLED display I'm very interested in this phone especially the Moto Mod QWERTY mod and Google’s A/B partitioning. Should I go for this phone or S8+, U11, XZ premium, XL or wait for Note8, V30, Pixel 2. Thanks

  • Overall is great...but why the battery is only 2730 MAH..?!! This is gonna be the greatest motorola phone on this year if they upgrade this thing. Hopefully they gonna fixed it.

  • I was too quick to bash this phone for not having wireless charging...supposedly you can purchase a moto style shell with wireless charging for an extra $40.00 Come on!!! Again, this phone retails for over $700.00, and I need to spend another $40.00 just so my old Verizon wireless charger can be useful again? Sad!

  • Upgraded to this phone today (from a Droid Turbo 2). Disappointed that this phone doesn't have wireless charging like my old Turbo 2 did. I don't understand how Motorola's "flagship" phone that retails for over $700 USD does not have wireless charging. I could care less about the damn mods.

  • The dual pixels will make up for the 21 mp vs 12. Keep in mind the phone is using 2 back cameras at 12 mp a piece. And the battery life may be smaller, but that won't keep it from lasting all day. The phone hasn't been officially released for sales so we can't accurately tell anything yet. iPhone batteries have less than 3000 mAh as it is, and out the box the battery life is great. From a retail sales point of view, this phone is a great addition to the smart phones we are offered. Some people would find this phone more useful with the mods it provides than maybe the GS8, iPhone, V20, or OnePlus 5. It may not be tailored to you, but we can't make opinions until you have seen the proof or the reasoning behind why they made things that way. Manufacturers are trying to make money, not lose money like the Note 7.

  • Lol @ battery life

  • well it's official lenovo wants to kill motorolla of ...with these mediocre single speaker products ...2700 battery 5.5 1440 screen, will make for a shitty battery life congrats lenovo.

  • Lenovo has went on record on the official Motorola website and stated that Android O will we available in November for many of it's model's which it lists.

  • In retrospect, I very well have been wrong in making fun of this model. It may end up surprising. It could stand Dolby Vision and/or HDR 10 support, not to mention HI RES audio, but, hopefully the Z3 or Z4 will bring those features to the table.

  • Actually the camera quality is better on this phone than the z force. They added dual pixels and a lower apeature so you can take better low light photos

  • battery life depends on battery volume + engineering tuning on the software

  • I've been very happy with my Z Force, and was looking into possibly pre-ordering the new version, but this seems to be a downgrade! 12MP camera instead of 21? 2730 mAh battery instead of 3500? I've already got the mods, and I already use them. Trying to foist them on me by crippling the phone to the point of where they're a necessity, instead of a supplement, is cutting off the nose to spite the face! The only real improvements are dual-SIM slots and the CPU, but they've cut corners on the two features people will be most likely to notice: battery capacity and camera quality. The phone is significantly lighter as a result, but I'm also significantly less likely to ever consider buying it as a result.

  • Quite disappointed with the battery. How is it going to last a day of use if the battery is smaller than my XPERIA XZ with 2900mah? With a QHD?! I have no idea what are they doing...unless they have some good battery tech that can make it last a day or more

  • Not supported on VZW/USC

  • LTE bands 30, 41???????

  • I have original last year moto z. 7.1.1 on. Batery last 24 hours of you unpug it at night and plug IT in next night. 4 to 5 HRS sot

  • 700 euro ? Lenovo ! are you serious ?

  • Would love to buy this phone but the length is super longgggg! The finger print sensor should be in rhe back to save space! Too big of a phone for me.

  • I guess the best way to optimize your battery here is to buy a mod (¿) ?.

  • What'd mean? Everybody and their brother loves bezels the size of Alaska ^_^ !

  • Tell Apple to start selling a headphone jack mod (read NOT dongle) too ;-) .

  • What's the title of this particular chapter?

  • WhyNotApple told me to remind you that owe him money still.

  • Yep, they forcing u to buy expensive Moto mods... Don't buy!

  • Agreed

  • Is there a 6GB version? 4GB RAM just does not quite cut it these days.

  • Motorola is leading innovation in this industry along with fujitsu arrrows which the 1st phone with iris recognition. US & japan seems rival forever

  • With all the add ons phone should be great. Like external camera add on video projector or powerbank etc. I know its a moery money to dump in but its a way better level or inovation.

  • See the battery... only 2730mAh..??? so pathetic...!!!

  • That has to be the ugliest Motorola I have ever laid eyes on

  • fantastic phone, innovation new style, new chapter of phone industry

  • It has the hardware for it but it's not one the current software. It will get BT 5.0 when Android O is released.

  • Can anyone please tell me what a SW update is, and how it updates a phone to Bluetooth 5.0

  • this has almost 50%MORE battery than the iPhone 7 WITH fast charge I cant wait to dump thr real biggest rip off ever the iPhone 7 aka 6s-s

  • Look at the Battery!!! what are they doing!!!!!!!!!!!?????????ask customer to take extra power bank with them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:(

  • This has to be the biggest rip-off *ever* XD - super-small battery to force you to buy the battery mod, in order to have decent battery life. - crap 12MP camera without OIS to force you to buy the camera mod, if you want a decent camera. Plus, the camera with its bump on the back really is the most ugly thing on an already ugly phone. - no integrated wireless charging to force you to buy the mod for wireless charging. - super cheap plastic screen that scratches easily. "Shatter proof", my ass XD After a year only it will be scratched up that badly, it will be more difficult to read anything than on a totally cracked screen. Exchanging the scratched up screen will be costly, as that ludicrous 4 year warranty only protects against breakage, not against scratches. Guess why? - no headphone jack. Coming soon: the headphone jack mod! - not waterproof. But hey, perhaps there will be a mod to make it waterproof? XD - Did I already mention it's just plain UGLY?

  • it depends on how do you use it.. Try to Uninstall or Disable those applications which you doesn't use regularly

  • Has it been confirmed that there will be no ois for back camera? I read an article on XDA, It said that "Motorola has yet to mention anything about image stabilization just yet.".

  • One word: Ugly

  • It doesn not mean better, but small battery always means fail. You just can't have a decent battery life with a small battery however you try to "optimize" it.

  • I love slim design but waterproof is important for a new generation.

  • Shatter proof screen. welll thats Unique. im interested in that scratch resist, you can always put tempered glass or normal screen guard to protect from scratch. im gonna wait for other review regarding to softwares.

  • ugly as usual.

  • Bigger battery doesn't mean better plus it does generate overheating issue on the phone other than agree with you.

  • very good Screw up!!! its really downgrade from Z force in everything camera 21 Mp 1.8f with OIS to 12Mp 2,0f NO OIS , battery 3500 to 2750! very disappointing

  • dont buy it if you dont want it!!!! it has some good specs

  • no headphone jack it is new generation 100% support

  • Couldn't care less about the 5MP cam but no 3.5mm jack? dafuq!

  • Pros and cons Pros -Scattered proof display 4 years gurentee -Front daul tone flash -Modular phone -Stock android Cons -No 3.5MM jack -No ois at rear camera -Huge thick bezels -Still 4GB Ram -small battery 2730mah battery -Costly phone should be $600

  • 700 EUROS with 5MP front cam....wow...really moto??

  • what a awful design

  • You are absolutely right. 2730 mAH...really??

  • Exorbitant pricetag according to the reality that it has an ugly front flat face with so much bezels that makes ot suck , why is it this expensive ??? Lol what's the point what's the new thing eventually beside the design too ?

  • I think it's safe to say we were all expecting a little better from Moto! This thing doesn't even compare to current flagships from competitors, such as the Galaxy S8 and HTC U11. And since now there is a 128GB storage and 6GB RAM variant available for the HTC U11 in USA, more people would be buying that instead. Yes the OP5 has even more RAM, but let's be real, the OP5 is not a flagship! But yeah, sorry Moto.

  • LOL, phone makers have totally lost their minds, no sigh of any sanity regaining. Everything in this phone sucks. Ridiculously small non-removable battery, no 3.5 mm jack, ridiculous screen to body ratio AND with software buttos (Meaning even more space has been wasted). So why exactly do they expect anyone to buy it? The moto mods? So they can spend even moire money making their phone what it's supposed to be in the first place? And with even more space wasted...

  • 700eur rlly? Even 500eur is not worth

  • lg p-oled or no?

  • 100% agree, totally absurd, I had the Z force, 10 months waiting the second generation for this, never buy this model... never

  • that and smaller battery in moto z2 play is just an absurd

  • Wht about water resistance ?? IR blaster ?? And that camera bump is awful... Plzzz moto remove that bump..

  • 2700mAh battery, goodbye moto, you are going opposite to the trend

  • it's not even launched yet, haha yourself

  • Battery is a joke only 1730mah hahaha

  • afraid that the battery will less than 3500mah, if 3000mah I will wait Nokia...

  • Excited for this one! Currently own the Z Force Droid that has the last generation top-shelf Snapdragon (2016's) and 4gb of Ram, and the thing is blazing fast. This next iteration should be even better!

  • Looking forward.

  • Unless Motorola is going to release a dual sim z force, its not going to be a hit...

  • Have fun.

  • Sorry, but I am not aware of any phone sensor available in the market right now that is both 21MP and 1.5um.

  • What the Shitt is this MOTO...... Moto Z force Camera comes with following features 21 MP, f/1.8, laser & phase detection autofocus, OIS, dual-LED (dual tone) flash 1.12 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR..... Video-2160p@30fps, 1080p@60fps, 1080p@30fps, HDR So we need to Upgrade our CAM to following features Dual CAM...... 21MP f/1.7 and 13MP f/2.0 laser & phase detection autofocus, OIS, dual-LED (dual tone) flash 1.5 µm pixel size, geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, panorama, HDR..... Video- 2160p@60fps, 1080p@120fps,HDR

  • Way to late to market couldn't wait just got my Samsung Galaxy S8 in the mail today can't wait to get home and unbox it.

  • This year MOTOROLA have come late to the show man......other smartphones already released their flagships to keep it up to date with thr smartphone competition. While MOTOROLA still stuck with midrangers. Good luck Lenovo

  • Radio No ? WTF is wrong with these idiots?

  • This phone isn't even out yet, but I wonder how successful it will be, considering how well Samsung is doing with the S8 duo. Good luck Lenovo, good luck (no sarcasm).

  • Best how?

  • ...would you rather it didn't have a loudspeaker? I'm sure that can be arranged if you have time and a set of screwdrivers, but it seems a bit silly.

  • Loudspeaker:Yes is this a joke?

  • If doesn't have Droid on the phone, staying with my current Moto Z Force Droid

  • No 3.5mm jack? I will be buying the 1plus 5 instead if that's the case.

  • Please my request for whit in stereo speakers ple my request for india

  • it will be best phone

  • I wonder when this unit will be released?

  • Moto Z2 Force WILL have a 3.5mm headset jack. Google 360 degree Moto Z2 Force renders. Renders from all sides released back in May show headset jack was restored.

  • I am using 1440p screen since 2015. It's far superior if you watch movies on your phone (even 1080p videos look better) and if you use VR headsets... All flagships got 2k/4k screens.

  • please motorola mudic audio in moon line to change steedo line with super sound qulitey

  • @Somebody... Because every top tier manufacturer has had at least 1440p phone since 2014. Samsung, LG, Sony, HTC, Motorola, even ZTE. Those who don't aren't ready to join the big leagues. If you don't like it there are plenty of 5.5" 1080p generic slabs for you to buy from Chinese companies. I've had 1440p AMOLED on my 5.2" Moto XT1225 since 2014 and I'm not downgrading. And yes, I can see a difference in fine detail, in fonts. "The day Motorola uses just 1080p for their 5.5" devices and Snapdragon 835 and 4-6 GB of Ram, the company will succeed, there is no need for qHD, eats battery and destroys performance, why is it that such big companies are acting so foolish"

  • The day Motorola uses just 1080p for their 5.5" devices and Snapdragon 835 and 4-6 GB of Ram, the company will succeed, there is no need for qHD, eats battery and destroys performance, why is it that such big companies are acting so foolish

  • Platinum body. 8GB Ram 256 GB Rom with Glass 5 display.

  • Wait to purchase a Moto Z2 With Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 at 1.2 Gbps download speeds and will include a FM Radio but it'll cost $800 and it'll be housed in Nickel w/platnum

  • Ah ok didnt know that thanks for your explantation.

  • The Moto Z2 Force has both a regular reversible Type C port with USB OTG on the bottom and a magnetic moto-mod port on the back. It is used to attach the Moto Mods on the back which add enhancements to the phone. Read a review of the Moto Z or Force to understand what the previous generation is like and then you can understand the second generation. This is top of my list due to the shatterproof screen and inclusion of a headset jack.

  • ????

  • to much ignorant.

  • The screen is shatterproof!

  • Shatterproof WTF. Every Aluminum device is shatter proof. It wont break as plastic phones like was Samsung S3 or lower. Anyway i feel sad or depressed from magnetic connector Type-C 1.0 reversible connector, USB On-The-Go; magnetic connector. Sonny had magnetic connectors and it was like a great feature on first look but charging a battery was nightmare. Often plug problems.

  • Do you mean SD835 with 6gb of RAM doesn't seem practical?..

  • Yess bUt iT does'nt suppoRt 4k dispLaY And THe tHeoRy of snaPdraGon 835 with 6gb of ram does'Nt looK sO Mannually UsaGe

  • Same specifications in GS8 now in MZ2F

  • It's all subjective. To me the back looks absolutely gorgeous, the front looks better on the z2 play because of symmetry

  • Can't they make it a little bit more uglier?

  • The back looks 100x better than the G6's. XD

  • I thing this mobile also not a pure motorola mobile....manufactured by lenovo

  • 12.. I really though I saw the z2 play in white when I saw this, the only difference being dual camera and Moto logo under the display (unbalanced bezels)

  • dual 21 Mp or 12 Mp camera on the back?!

  • Hello, there's a headphone jack on this phone!!!

  • Lenovo has really been destroying moto a generic design for sure
