  • Hi guys, It's good to come back after such a long time, I have a V9 Ferrari Limited Edition in my collection and has been contributing in this forum occasionally on and off. V9 is still one of my favorite "phone", I mean a basic communication tool in which, incoming and outgoing call quality are of utmost importance. I also own a smartphone HTC HD2 now but my calls are all made from my current Motorola E8 which has much longer talk time leaving the HD2 as my backup and organizational tool. Today, I only collect the old Motorolas, I have this V9 Ferrari Limited Edition (weekend use), 2 ROKR E8s (1 new as back up and the other in use everyday), 1 U9, 1 V3i, and proudly announcing that I have just purchased a V8 (mint condition in original box) recently waiting for it to arrive. When I use the V9 Ferrari, it reminded me of the V8 even though both have different OS. CrystalTalk feature from my experience is best on V8 and V9 as compared to E8 and U9 maybe due to the its size, Reception too is better on V8 and V9. I'm not so sure whether the current Motorolas have the same CrystalTalk quality as I suspected the manufacturing quality control is no longer controlled by Moto themselves - hope I'm wrong on this. To me, CrystalTalk feature is still THE FEATURE that should be built in all mobile phones. For those who are not aware of it, CrystalTalk was patented and only produced by Motorola on reducing background noise while automatically increasing speech volume so that the other end can still hears you loud and clear enough in noisy environment. This is one technology I got hooked on until today and I don't see any phone manufacturers making headway on it except on bluetooth headset manufacturer like Jawbone. I'm on Motorola CommandOne now with CrystalTalk technology and its really good too. The reason I use my E8 instead of my V9 was basically the shorter talk time of the V9 as compared to my E8 which is a lot better but now that I've just purchased another V8, I'll be looking for the BX81 or 80 battery with an extended battery door cover for much longer talk time hopefully doubling or more talk time from it. With it, I'll be selling off one of my E8 and will be looking to add an ugly but tough phone collection - the Tundra Va76r. Since its launch in 2007, V8 and V9 are still sought after by certain phone enthusiasts who are looking for an "ultimate basic phone" while ROKR E8's 2008 launch, it still looks "futuristic" and different, even until today I got guys asking me out of curiosity what kind of phone that I'm carrying that's different - looks totally black without the keypads but with a big "C" (the fastscroll wheel) design on it. Let's hope Google can revive the Motorola phone division and continue to refine the CrystalTalk technology, this would make it a better "true" phone when background noise will never irritates the other end during conversation while volume, clarity and strong reception are and should be the ultimate "must have" in all phones that we use in my opinion. Just look at what kind of signal/reception strength they have built-in in some well branded smartphones these days, which cost as much as a notebook, ironic don't you think?

  • iam using motorola v9, but i need more java application.also some diffrent software .from wher i get

  • Hi All, I have a razr2 V9, question is, when I insert my Singtel 3G sim card, network indicator on the phone shows only 2G, Why? anyone? thanks & appreciate it. cheers!

  • Does someone know if this model supports DTM?

  • Hy guys any one kne where its body casing can b found?? i have a v claen set but its back ccver has been missplaced!

  • 1 )- with razr2 v8 yes but v9 not much as v8. Bcoz the preloaded opera of v8 is better and has a better interface and features. But loading flash content is not possible.

  • RAZR2 V9 is a masterpiece :)

  • 1) Can v9 be used for heavy browsing? 2) Can we open multiple apps in dis phone? 3) Should i buy dis one or w8 for v10

  • Stuart! 1. Does Motorola RAZR2 V9 can copy and paste writing in the message (example, we wrote a message, saved it in draft. Then we open that message that had been saved in draft, copy it, then we choose Create message, paste it)? 2. Does Motorola RAZR2 V9 minimize its browser when browsing internet? 3. You said that Motorola phones were generally more solid built. Did you mean Motorola RAZR2 V9 casing really made in good metal material, better than other brands that have the same price? 4. For standby time, if we reduce its brightness and turn off the 3G signal when isn't used, it will not help? Thank for your answer!

  • It is just a piece of jewel in your hand with every quality you want.

  • Hi Marko, I got the same issue too although I didn't really count how many hours of standby, V9 generally doesn't give good standby time. My ROKR E8 has fantastic standby time that's why I use the E8 from Mondays to Fridays. Weekends, I'm on my V9. Standby for V9 is a problem for heavy phone users, on the other hand, its other features are good so this phone is a compromise in between. If you're not a heavy phone user, I fully recommend this phone with its Crystaltalk technology (funny that brands like Nokia, Sony Ericsson, Samsung and LG did not provide this kind of technology until today), although I heard that Sony Ericsson has introduced their Noise Shield but didn't work well as compared to Motorola's Crystaltalk and from my ownership experience with V3 (no Crystaltalk), V8, Z3 (no crystaltalk), U9, Z9 and E8, V9 has the best noise cancellation design among all of them. Do not be misunderstood, those mentioned above with Crystaltalk performed way better than other brands without background noise cancellation technology. Besides crystaltalk, moto's phone are generally more solidly built than most of the other brands. The reception signal too is generally better than many other makes. So overall, this phone is truly a consistent performer and I have been keeping it as a "collection". This V9 as a phone, outperformed my HTC HD2 if compared "phone to phone". V9 will definitely lose out to HD2 on other features but we can compare a normal phone to a smartphone. To me the HD2 is a work phone while V9 is a normal communication, audio phone. I carry both to work everyday, Motorola for calls and HD2 for work related recordings.

  • I barely get 30 hrs of stand-by time with my V9. Using BX50 batatteries.

  • I have used many brands. my number one is motorola razr2 v9 maroon is excellent - handy size, 3days battery life, very fast operation, attractive design, very much user friendly, It is just a very cute baby one can get. price-about $400.00 for me no problem.

  • Sorry Cornelius, I'm late on my reply again. I've used the V8 before and loved the design, built (solid), reception, clarity and noise cancellation (crystaltalk) except the battery life so I decided to buy the V9 with slightly bigger battery. So happened I found a V9 Ferrari, loved the limited edition category of it, it looks slightly different from the normal V9. The battery is slightly better than V8 too. Here's my personal answer to your early questions: 1) Synergy OS for Motorola is about the same, maybe the difference is the version. Some people are saying that this OS is not user friendly but for me, it's OK, just like the others. In fact, I've used my wife's Sony, my other HTC HD2, Asus WM, Nokia so to me they all are alright. Some of the other things I like about the V9 Ferrari are keypad feel is really good, the start up is real fast, the OS switch between pages smoothly, elegant design, crystaltalk (background noise cancellation technology) is even better than my Jawbone headset. I could be wrong about this, V8 / V9 could be the 1st phone to introduce haptic feedback (little vibration feedback) when touch on external screen (any of the 3 buttons). I remember after that, others started coming out with this kind of technology, just like most of the smartphones like HTCs, Android phones and even Iphone today. 2) I have not used my V8 or V9's browsing capability as I don't like browsing on a 2" screen, it's just too small for me. I'm not so sure about the differences between both Operas but I used to browse from my HTC HD2 that comes with 4.3" screen with pinch zoom technology and Opera 9.7 version. The Opera 9.7 is good for me, even without flash player, I feel it serves me well. If I want to view flv files, I'll use my Youtube. 3) I don't remember having seen "charge complete" on the external screen but it's definitely on the internal screen. I used to look at the battery icon from the external screen or the green light too to confirm whether the battery is fully charged or not. I've sold my V8 so can't recall this issue here. V8 is running on Linux OS, really good too, liked it very much. Somehow I feel the Linux's graphics are better than V9, the 2MP camera for both are real good too for a 2MP. 4) Maybe V9 Ferrari is different from the normal V9, when the flip is opened up for conversation, the external screen changes to a Ferrari logo all the time until you close the flip, this could be the reason why it consumes more battery. Didn't observe the external wallpaper when closed, sorry.

  • Thank you for your answer, Stuart! Wow! Motorola RAZR2 V9 Ferrari. It's must be very expensive. Do I right? Motorola RAZR2 V9 Ferrari version doesn't come to my country. Both Motorola RAZR2 V8 and Motorola RAZR2 V9 design are very good, but Motorola RAZR2 V9 is very expensive for me. I would like to ask you again. Hope you would like to answer me again. 1. Synergy OS? Do you mean Motorola RAZR2 V9 system different with Motorola RAZR Maxx V6 and RAZR V3xx system? Don't their system almost the same, not Linux-Java system? 2. Written the specification that Motorola RAZR2 V8 and RAZR2 V9 had pre-loaded Opera 8.5. How different with Opera Mini? 3. If Motorola RAZR2 V8 or Motorola RAZR2 V9 is charged in switch on or switch off condition. When the flip phone is fully charged, will it light itself and appears "charge complete" sentence, both on the flip close or the flip open condition? 4. Because of both Motorola RAZR2 V8 and RAZR2 V9 have colorful big external screen. If we set, for example the internal display with cloud picture wallpaper, the external screen will change to cloud picture wallpaper too?

  • tooo sexy

  • Hi Cornelius, Very sorry for my late reply as I've been focusing on work related matters. Sometimes I can be away for a period of time. About the Opera mini, I'm not sure whether it can be installed into the phones as my experience was based on using these motorola phones as modem by connecting the phone to my notebook. But first you need to install the Motorola Phone Tool software into your PC or notebook, configure it first to your phone model and then you can sync various kinds of data between your phone and the PC. I don't fancy the small screen on phones even with my HTC HD2 that comes with 4.3 inches screen size. Maybe I'm a little fussy on this, still prefer the usual notebook size screen. My V9 Ferrari has Assassin Creed built in and I've played with it for a while and didn't find it interesting enough, maybe not used to the screen size. What I know, some of the models you mentioned were running on Linux, like V8 for example. I've used V8 before and would say it's smooth and fast, V9's running on Synergy OS and both are fast too except E8's Linux. I truly believe majority of the phones you mentioned are able to run Java games but the question is how to get it installed. From my experience on the flip phones, V8, V9 ferrari and U9, I feel they are strong enough to be opened with one hand. Just that when you compare both ways of handling the flip phones, logically I feel if you handle them with care, they will definitely last longer. The momentum, inertia and the jerks contributed by the flick of the thumb probably cause slightly or "very slight" pressure on the hinge or even the electronic ribbon in the long run - this is however, my personal opinion. Hope the above helps, good day to you.

  • what other phones that is compatible to this phone.. in relation to aking video call?

  • Stuart! I would like to ask you. 1. Do Motorola RAZR V3x, RAZR V3xx, RAZR Maxx V6, and RAZR2 V9 can install Opera Mini 5.1 directly from the phone after downloaded from internet like Sony Ericsson phones? How about Motorola RAZR2 V8? Can Motorola RAZR2 V8 install Java games or applications as easy as Sony Ericsson phones? 2. Do their Java MIDP 2.0 ability can run good 240x320 pixel Java games, for example Assassin's Creed, Beowulf, Prince of Persia: Forgotten of Sand? 3. Will their flip easily damaged if we open their flip with one hand and close the flip by push it with one finger quickly? Thank you before!

  • I have had the motorola v9 for two years the battery life isn't so good, actually ther whole phone is dodgy,I battle to hear the other person talking not good reception and can't seem to add music unless you have a moto website you can download, from but even that its costly trying to find mp3's and very limited.

  • hey guys, may i ask if how long does the V9's battery last? in minimal use, i only use my phone for texting and calling, and i dont even do those things a lot cause im way to busy bout school, and also, which would be better, a Sony Erics Cedar or the V9? lastly, does the V9 still run on smooth condition after a few months? maybe about 6 months of use? thanks, :))

  • I have logged into internet couple of times using V9 but found that the screen is too small for anything. Instead, I used my V9 as modem connecting via USB to my computer (or bluetooth) and under 3G coverage, the speed is not bad, I could say acceptable for surfing. You need to have the Motorola phone Tool CD (enclosed in the box for new unit purchase)and install it before you can use the V9 as modem. It's also good for music, picture / video transfer and contact / calendar sync too. If connected too long as a modem, the phone feels warmer so practically, I suggest not to use the V9 as modem for too long a duration.

  • Hi everyone, can someone tell if if this phone has good and fast internet connection with opera mini browser? Thanks

  • Hi guys, I've got a V9 Ferrari limited edition. Until today, this phone is still a Real attention grabber, the tactile feedback when you press the keypad is really good. Slim, solidly built, camera's fantastic (yes better than my other E8 eventhough both are 2MP). I would agree with comments here on its battery which is the only weakness. I had to charge it at least twice if full charge or sometimes 3 times (30 minutes charge each) a day unless I use the spare battery I have but this did not discourage me from using this phone. Overall this phone's best for average to low phone user, for high phone users like myself, I would suggest you to get a spare battery, a car charger and even a mobile charger to maintain its battery level. The incoming voice quality is fantastic (the best one for me), better than E8's and there's no doubt for me, it sounded even better than my 2nd phone HTC HD2 which costs a lot more. I have also tested against my Jawbone prime bluetooth on background noise cancelling and the feedback I got was V9 Ferrari is better. (Yes, I couldn't believe it myself too. V9 Ferrari and the normal V9 are basically the same in this compartment). I actually bought it for collection purpose as I've 4 Motorolas, 1 HTC HD2 and 1 Asus P750 smartphones with me in total and the Motorolas are E8 (bar), Z9 (slide), V3 (flip) and this V9 Ferrari. For design, voice quality and reception V9 is the best among all of the above. I even purchased a mobile Motorola charger P790 should I need to charge it on the go, just in case I couldn't find a power outlet or if I'm on the move. This charger holds 2 full charges so it's definitely a good choice, not only for my V9, it can be used for any phones that comes with mini USB and micro USB ports. So no more headaches concerning battery problem on V9.

  • i would like to have a V9 and my location is kenya how do i get my hands on it and how much does it go for. hope to get a reply soon.

  • nice

  • that actually depends on the reason why you need a phone... if you just need it for basic telephone functions in todays standard (calling, texting, internet access) then i can recommend the V9 since aside from it can deliver these basic phone functions perfectly, it is also very STYLISH... However if you are the techy type and needs additional phone functions (opening document files, syncing, e-mail client) then the Q series is for you...

  • guys need help which one is better this phone or motorola Q9h?? THX..

  • What I like about Motorola is Crystal Talk. It makes a voice call quality good in a noisy enviroment. Comparing to Blackberry, is it better for a voice call? Nokia has a Voice Clarity and Samsung has a Whisper Mode, they are functining like Crystal Talk. But which one is the best for a voice call quality?

  • i just bought my motorazr2 v9 and it's good. adam or who ever know, how can i use with this phone a 8gig memory card because it say's only 4gig max memory card can use in this phone. thanks for the help.

  • 2GB memory card is the maximum for V9.

  • how much memory does this phone supports?

  • if 2nd hand v9 is available,i want to buy it.plz call on 9971872877

  • I have a question about this phone? how long does its battery stand?

  • .3gp files, you have to download a 3gp convertor. take a video and convert it to .3gp and then transfer to ur v9

  • I bought this phone 2 weks ago and it is a good phone. Would like to know what video format could i use to play some video clips? Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • bhobit arriola! You can download the said manual book in www.motorola.com. The file is in pdf.

  • I have K1 as well. Does it surprise you when you compare the size of the mons (both internal and external) between K1 and V9 to find out V9 consumes battery much faster than K1? Again in terms of battery power consumption, V8/V9 are like SUV's...but not too many other phones out there have "2" supersize mons.

  • the $199 is AU price

  • u can get this phone from allphones for $199 outright

  • as far as im using my V9, everything is great except for the battery life. I usually charge every 2 days unlike with my krzr k1. with the same usage i charge once per 5 days..

  • my user's manual of motorola V9 have lost, how can i download the said manual, tnx a lot.

  • how's the battery life for this phone,is it good?

  • ebay prices for this phone is from 100-150 usd. i just Buy It Now a unit from ebay and it cost me 100usd with free shipping.

  • yas it does

  • if you're in the philippines, the price of this phone has gone down by almost 50%. it selling for 8,880 pesos only, it seems that motorola is clearing their inventory. motorola is going downhill as far as here in the philippines is concern. all their shops are closed and you rarely see their phones on retail stores. chinese phone are more aggressive.

  • what is the price of this mobile??

  • what is the price of this mobile??

  • Or maybe it have multi-tasking????

  • Anyone can help me? I wanted to know, or when you are using something and close phone, after that everythinh disappearing or still as it was before closing?

  • Does it have auto delivery notifications when you send a text?

  • Can anyone confirm if the V9 has text notification reminder if you haven't read your texts? Thanks

  • Maybe, your save too much files in the phone memory and or in the microSD. Or you save too much SMS. Try reduce your files by deleting unnecessary files.

  • hola el celular esta muy bueno, tiene funciones muy buenas pero lo unico malo del celular es que es muy grande!!!! demaciado..!! gracias..!!!

  • I got the V9 ferrari edition.. very beutiful.. but i also attract to silver edition..

  • I've been using my V9 since last Oct, not a single problem at all. Still works great.

  • "Still" costs around US$230 where I live (unlock no contract). Though I don't see any other 3G flip phone providing the same build / voice quality around the same price range at the moment.

  • mine was great for the first yr now the screen is intermittent it works when it wants to. the people at the store tell it's common and there is no fix. is that a fact?

  • How much is this phone in the market currently?? And does it lag after a while??

  • Maybe Moto learned a lesson from the almighty brand's recent release of 6790...

  • Guys V10 is coming with a 2MP camera, what is going on with Moto? Why not 5 Mp at least?

  • Mind to ask your friend as to where did you buy her phone? I've been using my V9 since last Oct, with over 26 hours of accumulated talk time, and likely the same hours for games! Still zero problem with keypad and everything else.

  • battery runs down too fast but other than that it's a wonderful phone

  • I don't own a v9 but my friend been to the service center twice because of the v9 keypad mulfunction too. She intend to sell it far far away once its fix.

  • Can you elaborate where did you get your V9 (so others like us will never shop there!?) In HK, all Moto phones within warranty would be repaired within 1 hour, which means most of the time the motherboard would be replaced, so in a way one is getting a "new" unit. One day vs. months...:(

  • I have this phone and the keypad malfunction (not responding) after 7 months and stuck me in middle of nowhere, I brought it to the customer service for the warranty, they only have to repair co'z they don't do replacements. After they diagnost, FLEX is the problem and there is no available for the moment. They did order to motorola, and motorola delivered the request order after two months. Very bad experience, the phone is almost obsolete after repaired. I was really disappointed 2 months of waiting is a very long time.

  • Where did you buy your V9? I got mine in HK and it reads/writes (SMS) Chinese perfectly. No problem at all.

  • not a practical phone! its not worth buying!..hope motorolla will think of a much better software that fits the price of their product.

  • Anyone know where can download the chinese software ? not able to read Chinese text while V9 don't hv the Chinese software.

  • Don't know where you are from, though unfortunately Moto has been releasing more models "overseas" than its home market (US) for some reasons. I've seen photos of V10 as well, and the source indicated the phone is being tested in Korea and mainland China. In case you don't know, Korea runs on the CDMA network, which means the current V10 being available only works on CDMA for now. (China also offers CDMA network) Hence here in GSM Arena would not report anything about it.

  • Motorola RAZR V10? I never hear and see about it. I don't see there is Motorola RAZR V10 in this website. Maybe, it's available only in Korea as you said, but if Motorola want to release new phone, I think they will announce their products at least in cell phone magazine. Like Motorola RAZR2 V9, I knew it when I read it in cell phone magazine in May 2007. Then, it came to my country at Feb 2008. So, be patient Tomi! Thank you!

  • I had the V8 and I can tell you that motorola makes the best phones when it comes to the actually call quality and reception. Crystal talk is very clear and you don't have to talk loud for people to hear you clearly.

  • I think its up to 8GB

  • Great Style. Maybe still the best in whole cell phone market. Moto Rules!

  • V9 works with a internet modem for notebooks and laptops???

  • i really really want this phone, what is the special features of this phone

  • HI Guys Proud to have Sexiest Mobile .Using V9 really feel high.Great show MOTO$$$$$$$$$

  • Moto v10 is avalabile in Korea. Is it only for asian market? Pics and design are great and i hope to see this model in Europe.

  • upto how many gb can we expand for the memory card?

  • Hi , waht is this mobile colurs?

  • is the phone speaker loud comparable to se walkman?

  • I still have my V6, which I don't think anywhere is selling any brand new units anymore. V9 outperforms V6 in the following areas: - better reception - 3.5G capability - Crystal Talk technology to ensure the best call quality V6 outperforms V9 with - available secondary cam for video calls - slightly better battery life

  • Thank you for the information, 100 Moto! Do you know about Motorola RAZR Maxx V6? Is this cell phone good (performance, durable, etc), as good as Motorola RAZR2 V9 that you are currently using it? Thank you for the answer!

  • i really wanted this phone im a motorola fan.. i like all the features of RAZR V9...

  • well,i dont really have da fone buh my muver does nd it is lyk a music fone nd i sumtyms put my music on deer(lol)its proper gd dough im gona tayk it aftea she is done wiv it (lol)

  • FYI, V9x "has been" available in US for the past few months already, especially thru AT&T (the major GSM operator in US). Someone mentioned in the V9x forum he got one in Australia, which I'm not really sure if V9x is officially available there. Other than these 2 places, I have not heard V9x is available anywhere else, either any place in Europe or Asia. I am using both V9 & V8 and they perform much better than I expected...as they are not simply upgraded version of V3.

  • Glad, you read my opinion, thank you! I think if in this website said "Coming soon", that's mean Motorola RAZR2 V9x has not released yet. You can choose Motorola RAZR2 V9. Motorola RAZR2 V9x is carried by AT&T, so maybe it available only in USA (because that I know AT&T is America operator). Motorola RAZR2 V9x doesn't come to my country. Motorola RAZR2 V9 only that come to my country. Thank you, Hikari!

  • I've owned many phones (50) to be exact over the last 8 years (yes, i know i HAD a problem) but I can honestly say that the Motorola V9 is one of the best phones i've used. I was always in search for the perfect phone, and i think i've found it. I've owned an iPhone, and it was crap compared to this. Cheers!

  • Definately

  • Oh! Thanks for the details Nikata!... Another thing... I saw an entry for a Motorola RAZR2 V9x also on this site but its status is still coming soon since 2008... Is it actually released yet?

  • Will RAZRV9 have a new version in very soon? I am aboutto buy RAZRV9 but concerning about the change. How is the Crystal Talk of RAZR V9? Does it really provide a clear sound fo a voice call in a noisy enviroment?

  • This phone is an excellent choice

  • Hi, Hikari! Motorola RAZR2 V8 doesn't support 3G/HSDPA, the system seems in Java+Linux (Kjava), the menu is almost the same with Motorola RIZR Z6 and doesn't has memory external slot. Motorola RZR2 V9 supports 3G/HSDPA and has memory external slot. I don't know whether Motorola will release new RAZR series again later or not. Just stay! Thank you!

  • Whats the difference between this and the RAZR2 V8? Am interested in getting one of these as I used to own a V3x and had good experiences... Oh and will Motorola be releasing any new flip RAZR models soon? Don't want to purchase it only to realize a new model is released soon after... Thanks in advance for a response! :)

  • I am using my v9 almost a year now, and i drropped it hard, like, 2 times.. and the battery cover was detached to the unit, but amazingly, its till works! and it works good ever since i bought it. and the body, even i dropped it, its still scratchless. WHAT A SOLID PHONE. LOVE IT.

  • Can anyone tell me if the phone has voice memo on it that when u press the number it repeats back what u have pressed if anyone can help me that would be good

  • Hi, Azumi! Try another person who know how to check Clam Flip Count (how many times open-close the flip). I still don't know how to check it in Motorola RAZR. But, I still find it by asking to other users. I just know to check Clam Flip Count in Sony Ericsson mobile phones. Just press: Right, *, left, left, *, left, * (in standby display). Choose Service Info, then choose Clam Flip Count. Hope this will help. Thank you!

  • One of the very best phone on sale

  • ur not anry boy.. ur a silly n retarded boy

  • Don't think most Rolex watches have stop watch or timer either...and they are watches! If you want a stopwatch and a timer, get a Casio, not a phone. A phone is a phone, as long as it can dial and receive calls with clear quality, it already performs its job well. What other "basic" functions are u looking for?

  • this phone is silly doesn't even have stopwatch or a timer nor even basic functions

  • I just bought my v9 last feb 26 and now I'm having a problem it off and open alone today I can't remember how many times ... And it's annoying , and It never fell down, so what will I do? I'm so stress coz this is very expensive and I just thought it's more nice better than my old nokia 6500 slide....

  • Where did you buy it? Hope you can share so to make sure others won't shop there anymore. Never heard of such problem in the city where I live...HK.

  • i think that motorola v9 is a very nice phone. it has high oppertunities and its design is extrordinary. i think that its just the right phone for anyone.

  • Its a great phone...... visit us at www.007support.webs.com

  • Hey misters and misses, I have just upgraded from the n958gb to this, I know its a lesser camera, but I work for a phone company and its a really impressive fone. All of my fones iv had have been SE but then I got given an 8gbN95 for xmas in 2007, so I was not used to Nokia, but now I have this motorola im happy with it, I did have the V3 when its first came out some yrs ago, and that lasted only 3 months but this really is better quality Love your wk Moto

  • This mobile phone looks beautiful, nice, and very slim. Unfortunately, it is very expensive in Indonesia, it is Rp 3,7 million (about USD 308).

  • Really depends where you live... In my area, Moto offers 1 hour "repair" (implying "replace") service for phones under warranty, of course excluding damages caused by the user (like your case) You can doubt Moto's quality if you ever drop flip phones of other brands, especially with such large LCD external screen, and the other brands survived such impact. My friend dropped his N76 ONCE and the flip can turn over 180 degrees, where the phone lost the "open flip to answer" function immediately. Meanwhile my friend's wife dropped her Moto V3maxx over 100 times and the phone still works normally.

  • i dropped it once and there was already damage to the lcd. i gave it back for service and it has been 7 weeks and i've heard nothing. motorola's service is so lousy. you won't get what you paid for.

  • TCUT or other cutting compound will get rid of the scratches as long as they are not deep!!!

  • Its your network settings for WAP/INTERNET contact you service provider or download them OTA from motorola's website.

  • the file extention is correct but i think the encoding format is not correct. try coverting it again to mp4.

  • i love the phone

  • could anyone tel me why my v9 can't view the picture of mp4 file but i can hear the mp4 file's sound?why? pls pls tel me?

  • Don't use pure alcohol because this might tarnished the coating. so better 1:1 ratio. to be sure.

  • For network error, you need to take your phone to your network service provider, people there are likely to help you. (maybe some path / code setting unique to the provider is required)

  • Please please let me know how to browse.. I cant connect to 3g and even yahoo go is not working :-( I got a network error

  • Helo there.. Can you tell me how to do that? Please.. please.. I already purchased this phone.. but I can seem to connect to 3g.. even yahoo go is not working :-(

  • Yes, V9 supports Internet browsing. I even watch youtube sometimes...

  • Sorry I don't know how to answer your questions...as I'm not a very tecky person.

  • question: does moto v9 supports internet browsing through 3g? I want the stylish looks of this phone but I want to use the internet as well.. Is this a good buy for both style and internet?

  • 100 Moto! Can this phone install Opera Mini after downloaded from internet through the phone? And how to check "Clam Flip Count" in this phone? Thank you!

  • I love this phone, every thing about it is works perfect and very easy to navigate, period !

  • play the tune and in the opions set it as ring tone

  • still puzzled, save your sounds on your phone memory then select the tones you want to set for your ringtone or message alert tones

  • Most of my files are MP3 format...and they play well on my V9, which also plays WMA files.

  • omg omg omg i just swapped my iphone for for this and proud!! i love all motorola phones ive wanted one since the first motorola came out lol but just one thing does anyone know how to get rid of the scrapes on the screen e.g alcohol or somnething? please help as its way too beautiful to get scratched thanks

  • What music format you using? I know a few of my music files will play, but not let me set them as a tone because of their format. WMA seems to work the best on mine.

  • So after you go into: settings-> ring styles-> ? detail, You can't find the menu starting with Ring Volume Line 1 Line 2 Message etc...? If so, can you elaborate where did you buy your V9? Chance are you might need to take it back to where you bought it for further assistance.

  • I have tried to use my saved sounds as my ringtones by going to settings-> ring styles-> ? detail, but from there, Nowhere! After i choose the detail option, it took me to the options under ? detail. Please help. How can i set my ringtones?

  • sexiest phone ! period !

  • All slim phones have short battery life...this V9 no exception - especially with it's TWO big screens! Still, this is an exceptional phone, period.

  • this phone battery is sock!

  • Have been using this phone for a year and a half - absolutely reliable.

  • Has anyone heard this phone can easily get water damaged by sweat from the earpiece???

  • Believe those softkeys are defaulted and you can't changed them. If you don't want them (and don't need 3G or external memory card slot), get a V8 instead, which doesn't have the keys.

  • Does any know how to turn off the icon on the front screen.

  • great phone

  • hi its a good looking phone. yes u cand read sms view pics movies even call on external screen.the speaker is loud and is located the same as the v3.after couple of months on the external screen appeared 2 black spots.hope will disapear.

  • hi everyone!can anyone tell me where is the speaker located?is it a stereo speaker?is it loud?coz plan to have one next month..also i read that u can read sms via the external screen..is it automatically set or u can set it on ur own?i love motorola coz not only because its userfrindly (for me,i dunno 4 u guys), but also can lock ur privates e.g.sms,pics,etc...moto rules!!!

  • Can you elaborate which models of the other brands having similar technology with Crystal Talk? So I can search for review on the net to compare. Personally (along with my friend who has always helped me to test phones) I have never experienced anything more clear than Moto's flip phones with Crystal Talk like V9/V8/U9/K3

  • My understanding is V9m runs on the CDMA network (mostly in US) while V9X runs on GSM network (along with the special GSM frquency of GSM850/1900 being used in US)

  • What is different between RAZR9m and RAZRV9x?

  • Is Crystal Talk of Motorola better than Voice Clarity of Nokia and Samsung?

  • V9 should support GSM850/1900 (for US), GSM900/1800 (for most GSM networks other than America), and WCDMA. Unless you got yourself a CDMA version V9 (any CDMA in Australia?) or if the phone is locked. Otherwise it should work well in Singapore (running on GSM900/1800/WCDMA) Suggest you take your phone to "network service provider" (like Singtel?) who is eager to earn your business, should you fail to change the setting yourself.

  • hye, anyone know well about v9 network??? i bought v9 from australia but its seems it cant use here in singapore although i have change the setting. pls help me....

  • Sorry, all Moto phones suporting "up to 2GB" really have 2GB as the "limit". Anything larger than 2GB should be SDHC, which requires a different card reader to read the card. (including the good old computers I'm using) Any phone that supports "larger" than 2GB usually can support whatever that's being doubled. E.g. Zn5 & U9 - officially 4GB - reality 8GB Though my EM35 officially supports 32GB...but certainly have not tried 64GB card!

  • rose and expresso

  • It is yet another addition to the Razr Family; stylish and a class defining phone. Sid, it is in Tin Silver, Graphite Grey, Champgene and I guess thats it.

  • hey plzz help me...can anyone plz tell me in which colourz v9 iz available??

  • we want flash, we want flash, we want flash. pls cant we have a v9 with flash on rhe cam.

  • I want to ask 100Moto, have u tried using a memory card with a larger capacity on the V9 since it says it supports upto 2 GB?

  • Did you try Setting -> Ring Styles -> ? Detail -> Line 1 -> Music -> All Songs Or Multimedia -> Media Finder -> Music -> All Songs -> Option -> Apply As -> Ringtone Such as never been a problem with any of my Moto phone, except those Symbian or Windows Mobile based units.

  • Hey did anyone figure out how to make it play Mp3 ringtones? When I go to my ringtones list, it only shows the default ones, I can't see any of my music sound files...

  • Sorry, can you elaborate how your flap is loose? I bought both V9 and V8 in the past few months and I don't have any problem at all. Also, didn't you check the unit before you put the $ down? Or else, do you get free exchange within 14 days?

  • i bought this phone tody..ca u ppl plz tell me abt its flap? my phone's flap is loose.. v9 flap is loose than razr1 flap?

  • Very reasonable priced for such a good phone...the best buy!

  • motorola v9 is phone with 3.5g

  • in fact, moto v9 is a very, very good music phone. the headphone sounds very clear & has lots of bass, just like top branded headphones out there. the sound quality beats any nokia n series.

  • is this a music phone? was the speakers that good?

  • I haven't used Moto's CDMA since the CDMA version of V3688, though other than the system support, I believe most of the hardware/software between the 2 versions should be the same. Hence whether or not if you choose CDMA or GSM version really depends: 1)Reception of the network where you live/work/go 2)Special deals from your operators 3)Whether or not if you want to keep the phone for a long time....or as backup some years later. As if so, the GSM version might be better as you can take out the SIM card and insert another one. 4)Resale value...most likely GSM version is better as others can simply insert the card and use it.

  • I dont like its color RED

  • Crystal Talk is a good noise reduction system, but is it really work in a noisy environment? I have experienced it. The sound quality of conversation is so clear. However, I am still wandering which it is better between V9 CDMA Crystal Clear Voice and V9 GSM Crystal Talk of Motorola?

  • this phone is sweet. I love it.

  • Battery life not so good - I suppose because of the 2 large screens. But overall, this is a very good phone.

  • Hi everybody, can you tell me whether you can play and watch news videos via the Opera browser on this phone? Many thanks.

  • baterry lifeis verry good.technology is very good.it is verry stylish.i like this..............................................................much

  • Battery life depends on how you use it, just keep in mind this phone has 2 large screens which are larger than some other phones. I recommend additional car charger (if you have a car) and use the USB cable for charging in the office.

  • hello, i have a phone shop and i think this is one of the best phones on the market. its a great stylish phone

  • IS the battery life good and does it have good features

  • This is one of the most classy phone for the given price to date. The Luxury edition, which is almost the same as V3i D&G edition, iss more then twice the price. RAZR IS THE MOST STYLISH FASHION PHONE OF ALL TIME !

  • Major differences between V9 and K3 V9 - large screens for both internal and external. K3 - smaller size good for ladies. Dual cam makes video calling easier. Other features should be similar...both support up to 2GB external memory. I'm using V9 while my wife is using K3. If you need to know anything else, kindly let me know.

  • can u help me t know The difference between V9 / K3 ... i want to change my phone V3 but i'm Worry between V9 / K3 ... plz help me to wat the best i read Much information on their & i think V9 & K3 the same plz help me to know ?? t y

  • Can you elaborate what's so special for the EU version which you absolutely need the EU version?

  • does anyone know where i can purchase EU Version of this phone ?

  • got the Rose Gold edition.. and I sooo loOve it!! specially the external screen where i can play videos, pics, and music =) Have all in one package! Flip & Touch Screen just admire it, what every girl wants :)

  • could someone please tell me the V9 can support upto how much memory in terms of the memory card even though it says upto 2 GB. Did anyone try to use a larger memory card size?

  • what the hell does a 10yr old kid need with a phone ? catch their latest episode of sesame street?

  • If you want a thin phone with 2 big screens, then don't expect to battery to last forever without charging! No other manufacturer can do better if they have to produce a phone with the same spec. as the V9. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT PHONE, PERIOD.

  • Battery life is a great concern for V8/V9. If you want to get a V9, make sure you also have the USB cable for charging in the office, and a car charger if you drive! Then the phone works great!

  • Yes.

  • Hi all does anyone know if you can watch youtube videos on this phone?

  • I was wondering if anyone can give me an advice whether I should get a V9 instead of a Samsung. I have been canvassing around for this phone and two stores discouraged me already because of its poor battery life. Thanks you=)

  • A 9/10 phone.

  • Hello all. Bought this phone last week. I had already V3i which was agreat phone indeed. I am very frequent buyer of cellphones. Every 2nd month i spend thousands of rupees on buying new products here in pakistan. This is one of the best phones I ever used. Graceful appreance, you will stand out of croud. Very nice.

  • I got mine for US$250...brand new unlocked.

  • Basically a great phone overall. Poor battery if you are a very heavy user. You will love it cos it's practical, durable & quite user friendly. The camera is excellent for a 2MP because it react fast & it can take very bright picture in low light situation without a flash. Reception good too. Cryatal Talk sound quality better than any other manufacturer. If you use your phone mainly for making calls, there is no better phone at the moment.

  • i m truely a big fan of this fone and m just in love with its desgin and its look i really wanna hv this fone with me i dnt care for its specification, all i want it 2 be in my hands..but there seems to be no hope for it as m using Nokia N95 for last 18 months and if i ask my dad for it he will kick me off frm the house...wat to do guys???

  • dude you should really get dat fone cos i have the ferrari special edition but it costs a littl bit more than the original fone

  • The v9 is awsome! and by the way im a 10 yr old kid and i have the motorazr2 v9 ferrari edition and aside from the battery space all my friends love it! and it has heaps of memory and i have 105 songs!

  • thus a moto v9 has an memory card??? and if it does up how many giga byte does it can handle??? cause im thinking of buying 1. thnks... pls answer this..

  • Does it Sync Address book, Calendar etc with my Mac computer?

  • We've some people who shared their experience with Crystal Talk in the Zn5 & E8 forum..

  • had mine less than two months poor battery on second one send back for fixing was told i had water damage and they say its my fault and they willnt fix it so at the moment i havent got a phone had four motorola phone before and never had any problem

  • I just wanna know how is it going with this mobile and i want to know the different opinions about this phone coz i'm thinking to buy it soon....plz for everyone who uses it tell me its advantages and disadvantges..thnx

  • What is different in RAZR2 V9 and RAZR2 V9x besides GPS? Does the Crystal Talk realy work in a noisy area? If I talk in a Club, how many percenage can the surrounding noise be reducted from my voice? Comparning to Voice Clarity of Nokia and Samsung from the user experience, which one is the best of noise reduction system? Has Anyone a comparison graph of noise reduction test for the mentioned system Voice Clarity of Nokia and Samsung and Crystal talk? Thank you

  • So how old are my Moto P7689, V60i, V600, E398, V3X, V6, E2, etc...? If they don't work, come to my place and I will show you how they work PERFECTLY after all these years.

  • My RAZR V3 which I have had since 2002 was finally lost (3 days after putting a brand new battery in it). This camera still worked like new and looked great. I am bummed but the upside is I get to buy a newer model! Treat your phone like the precision instrument that it is and it will last you forever! If you're abusive nothing will last long.

  • I changed my motorola V8 by V9. 1 - I can not find the file manager in V9. How do I rename pictures and music? 2 - I can not open the photos that were in the V8. My email is ataliba.alvarenga @ bol.com.br My Phone number is +55 41 9944-8000

  • Motorola phone are met to be spoil in 2 years they are not long lasting

  • The motorola v9 uses the same camera for videocall as it does for photo - you simply close the phone and use the external display for videocall.

  • Motorola created a phone perfect as a phone not an MP3 player, a high pixel camera etc... Try to compare the voice quality of a motorola phone from Nokia or SE and you'll see a big difference. The thing is, Motorola focuses on what is essensial (Crystal TAlk)... I think that this is a very stylish and durable phone unlike the N-Brick series(it can't even fit your pocket) or the W-toy series... This Phone is perfect and very fast!!!

  • Excellent phone with strong reception & clear sound. Had the V9 for well over half a yer now & never encounter any problem. My only reserve with the phone is the battery (always been Motorola phone's downside). Btw, my dad's V9 (replaced his 8800 Arte) & my brother-in-law V9 is working perfect, except the battery; cos we are heavy phone callers!

  • hows urs going mate

  • Mind to share which city you live in? For some reasons, I've been hearing some quality problems regarding Moto phones...like US or Australia. However, in Hong Kong (where I live), the Moto service center has some of the loneliness repairman around town...people only go there for the free phones they get for applying credit cards! I've been using my V9 for over 45 days and not a single problem at all. Nobody has complained about any problem with V9 in our phone forums in HK.

  • i have had both the v8 and v9 and i like the v9 way better especially in bronze-gold color. i like how the phone is a quality phone, but i have hed to sent the phone in 4 times at the us cellular store to have the screens replaced. i've heard they go bad, but didntthink it would happen 4 times. but overall i definantly reccomend the phone. its awesome!!!

  • Strange, I put the same SIM card at the exact same location, and my finding in terms of reception (on 3G) was: V3x: the worse V6: better V9: the best

  • V9 has a v bad reception, in some places it's most of the time searching for the network; I have to put the sim card into my old V3i to get a signal. I sent the v9 to service 3 times but no improvement ! It is a shamefull phone from motorola !!!!

  • As though I've never used a CDMA V9, I'd bet the Crystal Talk technology being used on both phones would be EXACTLY THE SAME. The only differences between the 2 phones you mentioned should be: 1 supports CDMA and the other supports GSM, hence the antenna is different. The interface maybe different as CDMA carrier may have customized its phones for its own network.

  • No V9 does NOT have secondary cam for video calls. This topic has been discussed many times in this V9 forum and I'd suggest you go thru the old ones for further details.

  • This is a very nice & reliable phone - just like a good partner.

  • Motorola RAZR2 V9 GSM and RAZR2 V9m CDMA. which one provide a better sound quality for a voice call and noise reduction system?

  • Can anyone tell me for this model V9...got secondary camera for video calls ? Thanks

  • Can anyone tell me, does this phone have windows media player 11? I want to buy this phone.

  • When i decided to go for Motorola, i have chosen two models v8 and v9. After reading tons of forums i went to my local network provider to buy V8. Still, i asked to show me both phones. I was surprised, but V8 lagged a little scrolling the menu and contacts, while V9 seemed to me very fast. So i bought a V9. The phone is very pleasant in the palm, the case seems to be very strong, durable and stylish. I prefer talking quality (almost do write sms, and search the web) and i am very pleased what i got. The voice is very natural and clear. Had a little bug with coppying contacts frim SIM to phone memory, because i didn't find a command in the V9 doing that, but after sync of the PC and the phone i finnaly did it. The battery holds up to 3 days (mostly talking), but you can save power by turning on the eco function, turning off bluetooth (exept when you need it), minimizing screen brightness... I also use black wallpaper, as a theme: just made a black photo with the V9 and use it like a wallpaper. Sound is great, but V9 does not support mp3 higher than 256kbps rate. Menu is comfortable and easy (did not expect it from moto). I really liked synchronisation soft, which offers backup\restore of your data, tranfer files, contacts, synchronises calendar and it is optional: you can do this via the cable or via bluetooth, which works perfect and quick... In my opinion, this is superb phone if you prefer talking, but not surfing the web, or sms... It is tiny, so the battery is very slim too. I went for V9 refusing my new Samsung i900 Omnia, and do not regret. Thanks for your attention and good luck...

  • I bumped into a dictionary software for V9 in mobile9.com. Haven't tried it out though. I think it was p 30 in the V9 software section. Maybe this will help

  • Motorola RAZR2 V9 GSM and RAZR2 V9m CDMA. which one provide a good sound quality for a voice call and noise reduction system?

  • Crystal talk of Motorola is good in hearing sound quality, but what if CDMA Motorola, which is better between Crystal Talk GSM and CDMA for a noise reduction? Does RAZR V9 have CDMA operation?

  • i have this beauty for about a month now and i think it rawks! no compplains except the fact that u have to "store" every pic u snap and that sometimes after typing a long text it dissapears after u press the send button @@ i dropped it three times =( but its still ok, unnoticable light scratches xD

  • Depends...For those who seek perfomance definitly V8, but if you prefer 3.5G choose V9. I prefer this one because of 3G

  • Voice quality of W980 vs. V9? V9's voice quality is like MBA players in Olympics...beating anyone at anytime. Never heard of any other brand offers similar technology as Crystal Talk as of Nov 10 2008...

  • Sony Erricson W980 and RAZR V9, whichone is better in a Voice Call quality in a noisy place? Does Sony Erricson have a noise reduction like Crystal Talk of Motorola?

  • well i no bcause i love this sexy phone and i no everything about it

  • does anyone know any website for download free dictionary for MOTOROLA v9? please reply.

  • From my limited knowledge, V9 is "neither" a Smartphone, "nor" does it run on Linux...because Moto still doesn't know how to make any 3G phone on the Linux platform. So the rule is simple, all Linux Moto phones are 2G only, and all Moto 3G phones are "not" Linux based. (As of Oct 2008)

  • I'm really happy with this phone, the performances are not perfect but ok, the batterie life is not that bad, if you used your phone for calls and texts the batterie holds normally & I don't see a big difference with a Samsung battery life, for the rest, the design and the textures are great and the menu is pretty easy to used and you can change the icons position the way you want it.

  • how do you ready texts externaly with the razr 2 v9

  • does the v9 support themes?

  • Hi, 100 Moto! I would like ask you. I have read in a magazine that say Motorola RAZR2 V9 is Linux O.S. But I see the main menu is not like Motorola RAZR2 V8 or Motorola RIZR Z6. In my opinion, Motorola RAZR2 V8 and RIZR Z6 are Linux O.S. Motorola RAZR2 V9 not. Are these right? What do you think? Thank you before!

  • Feel so sorry as I paid US$250 with "one month" (US$7 only!) contract on this phone, with absolutely no problem for about a month now.

  • I just bought mine less than 2 months and it quit, now they are sending me a refurbished. I paid $249.00 and a 2 yr aggreement. I am not a happy camper.

  • Crystal Talk was designed specifically for noisy environment. No comment on other brands, though Moto was the first to introduce such technology vs. other brands. Comment from users of Crystal Talk is subways and busy streets in metropolitan areas can be as quiet as somebody's home. Crystal Talk function is "always on" and one cannot turn it off...as there is no reason why one should do so. US probably has sold more V9 than any other country where V9 is officially available.

  • Hi there; I am a 2 year owner of the previous beauty V3i & highly satisfied with it. Except the silicon bumpers at the internal side. One of them simply got lost, leaving it's space behind :( I wonder does it worth to change my V3i with this newcomer V9 ? Any opinions ?

  • Anyone has experienced the below question? Please Does Crystal Talk really work in a noisy enviroment Is it better than Voice Clarity of Nokia and Samsung? How do I know the Crystal Talk is being actived while calling? Which country is the best sales of RAZR2 V9?

  • Hi, i need urgent help...is there any problem in using GPRS on this handset? GPRS settings are easily saved? i need to know it urgently. I would appriciate an immediate reply. Rgds

  • Is the V8 better than the V9? ..it has better voting results, just wondering wich one to get.

  • Does Crystal Talk really work in a noisy enviroment Is it better than Voice Clarity of Nokia and Samsung? How do I know the Crystal Talk is being actived while calling? Which country is the best sales of RAZR2 V9?

  • V9 is a quad band phone which supports GSM900/1800, which works well in Thailand. I got my V9 through a network service provider in HK...which doesn't offer 3G service!

  • Very sorry to hear your sad experience. Understand the geography in US may not allow you to get the phone being serviced immediately...by Moto itself. Just curious, how long did you buy your V9 and K1? I got my K1 in May (US$128, no contract unlock), which I used it quite a bit during my business trip in US, and I had absolutely no problem about it. I got my V9 for about US$250 with one month of contract (US$7), a supermarket coupon worth US$7, and a Moto W181, which I sold for US$25. Which made my V9 cost me US$225. I have been using my V9 for about 3 weeks now and I haven't encountered any of the problem you mentioned. In Hong Kong, the service policy is, the phone can be exchanged for a new one within first 7 days of purchase. I.e. on the problems you encountered, within 7 days, you could simply get a brand new replacement phone. After 7 days, Moto in HK is offers one of the best after sales service: 1)Waiting time to drop off the phone is less than 5 mins in most cases, vs. over an hour for the almighty brand and the I ? music brand. One of the reasons is, if you're dissatisfied with Moto's quality, don't bother with I ? music phones in HK...Moto is HK is like Maytag in US...with the lonely repairman! 2)Sales receipt is not required unlike other brands, so you can take the phone for service anytime you want. 3)Maintenance time is guarantee to be within 60 mins. According to my experience, usually I can get my phone back within 50 mins...if not 40 mins. How can they fix phones within 40mins? They simply don't fix phones anymore! In most cases they simply change the motherboard of the phone. Hence other than the housing, practically one gets a brand new phone! So next time you come to HK, you may want to get a "quality" Moto phone with quality service...as if you'll ever need it!

  • Yes, go to Setting -> Ring Styles -> ? Detail -> Message

  • Razor 2 is the name used by Americans, as most of them prefer actual "names" over alphanumeric codes. For examples, cars are called Mustang, Corvette, or at least some kind of abbreviation like Cadillac CTS, STS, vs. the European cars like S600, 750iL, etc.. V9m should be the CDMA version, as most Moto CDMA phones recently have the "m" as the suffix.

  • Go to Network Setup and choose GSM900/1800.

  • Yeah, I got my V9 for US$250 (1 months contract at around US$7), plus a US$7 supermarket coupon, and a Moto W181, which I traded out for USD$25. That made my V9 cost me around USD$225 only. What else can you get at that price as a 3.5G flip phone? Don't tell me N76, as its paint keeps coming off...

  • One day I called my friend using both Moto Zn5 and V9, both with Crystal Talk, and he told me V9 provides slightly better voice quality over Zn5. Not that Zn5 is bad, as if Zn5 gets an A, V9 should be A+ or A++. Never heard of other brands can match the voice quality of Crystal Talk, especially the "I ? Music" company's bar phones...where all background noise comes free of charge....while the human's voice can hardly be heard!

  • How is the Crytsal Talk of RAZR2 V9? Does it really work? Comparing others model with Crytal Talk, which one is the best in sound quality when talking on street? Voice Clarity ( Nokia and Samsung) and Motorola Crystal Talk, which is the most practical?

  • Btw, the free promotional phone from Motorola is a W181.

  • Don't understand why the price group is rated a 6/10?!....no wonder everyone is complaining that the V9 is expensive!!! The Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte is rated at a 9/10 price group, which mean that the 8800 should cost about 1/3 more than the V9; which is not true in my country(Hong Kong). Nokia 8800 is retailing for approx. US$1,200. & the V9 for about US$350. ; which makes the Motorola V9 a bargain & an excellent buy! I brought my V9 approxmately 6 months ago for US$320.(with a discount from my provider & a free promotion phone from Motorola). The phone is quite solid build & the camera is very good for a 2MP. Taking pictures at night with dim lighting is not bad; & the picture came out bright & clear.

  • V3i all the way

  • bought 1 was overpriced but i liked its design pretty loud but could have bought better phone fro less money

  • I tried this phone for a week and i dislike it. I prefer still use my V3i.

  • 2MP camera...QCIF video recorder...no memory card included...and a 45MB internal memory...it's a mid-end phone man...it's way too expensive for what it's worth...the keypads loose their responsiveness after 8 months or so...bottomline: NOT WORTH IT

  • one word..."expensive"...too expensive for what it's worth...it's just a regular phone with the price tag of a PDA...cant even last for more than a year...guys, it's a waste of money...i dont mean to offend anyone, but I'd rather go back to using SE or Nokia...

  • yes it does

  • Yes it has Talking Phone function :)

  • does v9 have the 'talk phone' function like the v8?

  • yeah you're right but ur s.e sucks when you try to print the pics...its has alot of dots...unlike moto's it has clearer pics than digi cams....and also the navigations does not hang.....

  • dude where are you geeting your info's v3i has templates....im sure you haven't got any rzr

  • fantastic phone...but the thing is there is no flash,

  • video calls are done using the original 2 megapixel camera by closing the phone , there is only one camera , but i think this is much more better as the quality of the picture will be great

  • how many pixels V9 have for video calling ? i know the 2.0MP for the camera for taking picture...how about for the video calling ?

  • no fm radio

  • v8.. built in memory, touch sensor on external screen and TALKING PHONE enable it reads even your incoming messages. v9 have a memory card slot, 3 functions on external screen for music, viewing pictures and videos and mostly 3g phone \

  • yes it has camera at front .its for purpose of taking picture and fro video calling

  • i had the motorola v9 for ovr a year now and it has been functioning quite well, no call interference in any electro magnet devices, it has a SD SLOT !!! supports up to 2gb and for the cdma version it can support more, the front camera can be used as video calling by simply closing the flip while the phone is on a video call..

  • no sd slot either

  • hye..may i know..v9 has front camera for video call or not?bcos i cant see any front camera;..

  • V9 have memory card slot

  • Dear All Kindly be informed that I have a very bad experience with Motorola Either V9 or K1 and the worth experience was with the costumer service of Motorola in my region or in America. Dear All I will be fair and tell you my problems with those mobiles: For the V9: 1- The Touch screen does not work. 2- The vibration system does not work. (They stole it in the agent) 3- The charging light does not work. 4- The flip system does not work probably. (The agent stole it and Brock the housing) 5- The display became very dirty from inside when I gave it to the Motorola agent once. (By the agent) 6- The mobile dial numbers by itself and does not respond to anything except removing the battery and this case happened at least twice a day. Most of the problems did not exist before I gave it to the agent in Egypt but after I gave it to them they asked me to pay extra money for maintenance and neglecting the guarantee at all. For the K1: 1- I got the gold one and suddenly I found it dialing a number by itself and the keypad became rusty and I got irritation in my skin due to this rust. 2- The external housing golden paint got out and I gave it to the agent and they were refusing to change it due to they are not respected at all and when I was insisting to have all my rights they change the damaged paint external cover and put another one but damaged as well but not in the housing. So that I will not use or buy Motorola again and I am advising my friends not to not use Motorola again anymore. I am advising you as well to stop using Motorola because they are not care about the costumers at all and you can know it from their site and their software the site is so complicated and you are not easy to get the contact us and if you were hero and got the way to contact them they will not reply to you because they are not caring about the costumers at all and I have all the prove that I got all those problems by Motorola in Egypt. • hi... there can somebody tell me watz da difference in v8 & v9?????

  • Get the Motorola RAZR2 if your Europian get Nokia, American get Motorola, if your from Korea get LG. Support your country.

  • you can go to motorolla.com and see the feaures

  • No FM radio on V9

  • hey there :D i've always had nokias also and wasn't too sure if i should move away from them, but i got the v8 in december of last year and really like it :) i wish i'd waited for the v9 because of the expandable memory and video calling though :P~ only issues i've had are the vinyl or whatever it is on the back of the battery cover wears out and peels off pretty quick (i've had my phone 9 months now) and so does the silver paint on the external buttons of the phone revealing white plastic underneath. aside from these two things i love the phone :) depending on what kind of camera you're used to, i've seen other people complain about the camera being 2mega pixels, and not having a flash or auto-focus, but i personally didn't mind this, i find it takes great photos in good conditions :) hope this helps!!

  • I used V9 for about one weeks. After V3 and V3i, the was improve a lot. It is smarter and faster than the old razr.

  • This i want to know as well, can someone enlighten us..? Thanks.

  • Is there no FM stereo..? PLease repLy. Thanks.

  • why cant i take store mi pic en my sd memory my e-mail is [email protected]

  • Hi there, Can someone on here tell me what the Opera browser is like on this phone and is the connection fast? Thanks.

  • Disable the HSDPA(3G) & the battery will last longer.

  • Overall, this is a very good phone. The only let down is:- -short battery life -keypad not too comfortable(have to press harder & slower to work accurately) -icon & standby screen looking ugly(look like from the old times) -Motorola phones are not so nice/easy for typing messages(unlike Nokia or SE) Overall, this is a 8/10 phone.

  • Mine can pnly store upto more less 360 sms....

  • Maxilo, you dont need to limits your text... If you write more than 3 times 160, your msg automatically turned into mms by the phone itself...

  • Yes, I agree... The only lack from this phone that I feel is the battery life.... Other than that, ehm... it's the best for now....

  • Can you write up text with more than the standard 160 characters? Or do you have to break messages down into multiple text messages?

  • worst battery life

  • Battery life short, burns my ear. Menu disappointing after v3i cannot use quick notes now called "templates" for text replies , that makes for dangerous driving! The color you either love or hate no choice.

  • a superd phone and the design is sharp.....happy to0 have this phone.

  • Ive Had this phone for a week and loving it. It may not be super heavy on features like GPS or High MP. But if you dont need those then get this phone! The design is AWESOME so SEXY and comfortable. Every1 at school stares at my phone and goes WOW. AWESOME PHONE!!!!

  • very very poor battery life...thats all.

  • worst phone ever!

  • this phone has a good cpuso it is more than fast!

  • hey are from philippines? do also have a v9? coz i have one and i cant disable the homescreen..

  • This doesnt have an internet configuration in smart (philippines). But it has an mms setting, but still, to bad since it promises a very fast HSDPA,, Veryyyy nice picture quality, it comparable to a 3.15 MP camera... Nice build and choice of materials, battery does not last long though...

  • Or the 3G ? It eats my battery life in 2 days ! Thank you !

  • Hello ! Can anyone tell me , please , how can i disable the 3G ? Thank you ! my email is [email protected]

  • How can i disable the HDSPA ? Thank You !

  • this model i owned rite now is the best phone ive ever get so far.loves my v9 so much.if ure up to sumthing glamorous and trendy this model suits u and serve u better.so much satisfied with all the functions.

  • is this phone fast? and it dont hang?

  • how many messages can you store in this fone? thnx.plz answer.. badly nidid..thnx

  • I think this phone and the Z8(Z10) are motorola's best handsets. I like these 2 handsets cause of the size.Their manly but also glamorous.

  • basically i got my hands on V9 recently and overall the functions and application is fairly good, int. & ext. cam. crystal clear sound, user friendly, sleek design. however for users who like to save battery usage, goto network setup goto band--> select 900/1800 after that restart your handset. it will save more batt. than expected. moreover i chose the dark color instead of mahogany cos its more suitable to female user, frankly speaking, if you'd like to show off proudly with your V9, Mahogany should be eye-catching! ext. touch screen for text viewing makes it so convenient, no doubt about it, well i don't really listening nor watching video so its fine. personally speaking, the software is an upgrade from V6, on top of that makes it faster and less hassle. Oh, one more thing, i notice many people walk pass looking at my V9 with amazement. Cool!~ :-) Last but not least, long term MOTO users, its a thumbs up for awesome simplicity! Cheers

  • anyone here in the philippines who bought this phone? what can you say? im planning to buy one! by the way is the camera here is clear?

  • Basicly i just bought it, it is a great phone and the video call using front screen and cam is excellent because it makes it easier to hold while viding. ALso i found a fancy new menu which is great and the ne os is graet...

  • i enjoyed using during the first few weeks not until i had problems with my cam. it was a total dissapointment!! it breaks easily. i want to dispose it and get another phone.

  • total disappointment.i have it for 6 months and it has already been repaired 2 times.

  • this phone is the most wonderful phone i ever had,..it's much better than the NOKIA Nseries phones i had before.(:

  • thanks for helping me in choosing v9. now waiting for its launch in chandigarh,, hope to get by end of july, excited to buy it..

  • v8 or v9?better go for v9!no regret!serious

  • can anyone provide the web access port, proxy and domain #s. i've just purchaed an unlock model and t-mobile is my subscriber. i'm trying to activate the net. Thanks,

  • that's wonderful that you look at the positives Ghayyur... but this is a review of the phone, only giving the positives is what the manufacturer does to SELL the phone. People read user reviews to find out what the negatives are... there are always some negatives... why read reviews if all they do is promote the phone?

  • does this phone have fm radio? tnx

  • Can you disable 3G and run it GSM only to safe battery if needed ?

  • why this phone dun have secondary camera for video call?? i think i will buy this phone if it has secondary camera in front..

  • is der any one can know about the difference of Razr 2 V9 and Razr 2 V9m? asking only... thanks

  • yeah i had it right now one of my dream phone and right now i didn't experience any prob for the batt it's ok for the peromance good, high processor makes the phone cool and for the sounds yeah i very like it for the camera damn crystal clear for me... suggest for those who experienced any prob like hangs, low batt life you know you need to sync your phone not just use it... set it up like other rigs and for the batt any cellphones that you use for music and play video yeah it's kinda draining a batt so it's probably your phone would be low batt... okie

  • i've been using this phone for exactly one month now and i don't experience any problem... im just quite disappointed for some of the features is not available coz my phone was purchased from at&t... other than that.. i have no other problems... its an excellent phone for me... =)

  • I bought the phone and within 1 day was having issues with it. For some reason sometimes when speaking the sound goes in and out so for the person you are speaking to you are breaking up. The phone is under warranty but I understand it's a manufacturing fault - I just hope there aren't too many phones with this fault. I now have to repair a phone I bought 3 days ago!

  • i just bought the pjone a week ago. today the phone hang about 5.

  • My Dear Please help me if any one knows about any website where a lot of free stuff is available for Motorola V9, themes, applications, softwares etc, please rely at; [email protected]

  • if any one can help me in exploring the website where free software / applications for v9 are available to downlaod, i will be obliged, i may be contacted at : ghayyur&mobilink.blabkbrerry.com

  • On gsmarena i always read the opinions / reviews / comments on the phones of my own interest, I hav ea good luck about battery life of my every phone. You see no phone is very good no phone is very bad, we buy phones with in our budgets , some phones have, we should not expect more, we should realize the early age ugly phones were having no camera, no color screen no blue tooth etc and we paid very heavy price to puchase those mobile phones in old times, Now , we buy phones at much cheaper cost and we expect each and every feature should be at highest quality, no it is not possible, we hould with in the limit of our budget, please, before going to buy a mobile phone you should make a comparative statement, you should see the phone physicall before you place the order , we all must improve our decision capabilites, buying expertise ets,or if any one of us have no technical knowledge he / she must tajke help from friend(s) cousin(s). I knw the people who are very happy with a phone cost $100 and seen people are not happy even at the cost of $1000 mobile they keep, I use Blackberry always, i am happy, once my friend complaint on a little issue of BB, i have aksed him to change the brand if he is unhappy but do not make it controversial / do not create an unpleasent issue. I used iPhone few months, no blue tooth data transfer, USB was not working, faced problems but I always pointed out its best feature,I never never shouted, I kept muslf controlled, happy to control my blood pressue. PLEASE KEEP YOURSELVES ALWAYS POSITIVE.

  • Phone isnt bad, but battery is total disapointment, 7 days doing nothing+- but 1 day calling or listining to music. Few days ago I was going from UK to Poland not using phone, battery died when I arrived 30h later to Poland. I had with me old motorola A1000, it didnt had that kind of problem (3g enabled ofc)

  • I have purchased this brilliant and fantastic phone on 12 July 2008. It is an excellent phone, I have used Sony Ericsson 7 models, Nokia 12 models, Samsung 3 models, Phillips i model and Siemens 1 model, and iPhone 8 GB. I hav eused V3 Motorola for about one month, bnut V9 is most beautiful phone i have ever seen. I fyou always keep two phones then pltry BLAC BERRY 8820 MOTOROLA V9 despite of all these I have used Blackbery models; 8800 8300 8310 and prsently using Black Berry 8820. I always use two mobile phones keeping in view " be intouch always ". I want you to ask two questions that (01) can we download any thir party software / application to record incoming call or not ? (02) Can we download free themes for V9 ? Please reply and thanks Byeee Ghayyur

  • Could you please start including the SAR level as a specification field?

  • answer khaled: only one cam. but still can use the video call function. you have to close the shell, and use the 2MP external cam to v-chat with your friend.

  • When a nokia or any other mobile phone brand send a contact number in this phone via bluetooth or sms... will these phone recognize the format from other brand? nokia use .vcf

  • can anyone tell me how good/bad is the sound quality when it comes to music compared to SE walkman series or a N76..etc? iam waiting for a w980i but V9 is my backup icase the W980i was to expensive for me, i know its obviously not as good as a w980i with all the news how good its sound quality will be but i wanna know where the v9 stands between other phones...thank you :)

  • Only cost me a quarter of the price of my Nokiia 8800 Sapphire Arte...how can anyone consider this Moto V9 expensive! Btw, this phone was meant to target the same buyer group as the 8800!

  • this phone has low to midrange features at a mid to high end price... ridiculous really, nice to look at but over priced.

  • One camera only...but it is also used for 3g video call when the flip is closed.

  • I'm currently using moto v9. The fone is indeed pretty and elegant. However its battery life is kinda short. I'm also experiencing auto shut-off from time to time.I already tried resetting it, reformat, and to think I don't have lots of files. Please help me on this.Thank you

  • Are there two cameras in this cell phone, as it is a 3G one? How can we make video calls if there is only one? Is this a good mobile phone? I'm thinking about buying a V9 and I want to be sure in my choice. Help me!!!

  • T9 is very useful. It's just that u r not used to it!

  • yea. cos their T9 very what. like always give you words you don't want.

  • u mean carl zeiss lenses? i think only nokia uses them on their camera phones.

  • LOL! me too! except, i use the 6110 nav, which is a 2.0 as well. but for some reason it's quality is a piece of crap compared to my v9's quality.

  • If you like your phone to be fashionable and stylish, choose V9 but it is not a user friendly phone especially when sms-ing.

  • can i listen on fm radio on this phone? my fiancee's sister is giving me one...ihope i will like this phone because based on the opinions i have read about v8, i'm thinking that v8 is much better than v9...tnx..pls do answer my question.

  • ....its unrealistic just to talk, try & compare them for yourself!

  • v9 has not flash & calzes lence so you cant get a good quality beter than nokia 3.2 mp

  • This V9 2MP camera perform better then my other 3.2MP camera from Nokia! (I have the 8800Arte & the 6500Slide)

  • A 9 out of 10 product!

  • Can u answer text messages in the outer display (touch screen) on this phone?

  • yes..the colour does come in a rose gold, charcoal black and the burgandy shown..these phones are really cool and great camera and sound!

  • It is the rose gold edition

  • yea ive seen it... they look cool

  • I noticed a gold colour V9 at an electronic chain store's show window. Just wonder if anyone has seen this color yet?

  • i really enjoy this phone the only problem i have with it is the battery life and vibration sensitivity

  • Does this phone support 3G video calls? If so, which camera does it use?

  • Awesome RaZRtech design, i think motopeople should consider the next step are "MotoWindo" concept where as multimedia experience like in pocket pc environment and also easily handling any type of file and size.

  • cn anyone plz tell me if this phone has a flash or not?

  • I had this phone for about 6 months until it was stolen :( I highly recommend it. It is a solid phone with an awesome style, I got so many compliments for this phone it was crazy.

  • I walked into the three shop to buy this phone, but changed my mind when I saw the weak hinge. It is like holding a floppy sandal to your ear. It doesn't lock very well. It feels "broken". I tried another elsewhere and it seemed firmer, but still kind of floppy. I wait a while to see if later models are improved.

  • I just got my V9 Ferrari version. Icredible feeling with all those Ferrari touches everywhere. Music is great and especially the leather Ferrari case. High price tag but since limited edition. GO FOR IT

  • The phone UI is unbelievable fast, no lags whatsoever in each and every action, of course loading Java games take time, but that's 3/4 seconds top ;-) The camera is very sharp with incredibly vivid colors and good sharpness, also you can turn the shutter off (I know that is important to some guys haha) The phone does have dashes xxx-xxx-xxx- and so on . You can also program it not to show them. I have a 4 GB card on mine, but keep on mind that's the European/Hong Kong version, 8 GB is somehow confirmed to work too. If you buy the AT&T one, you only go as high as 2 GB. Any other questions ask away, I'll be uploading pics and maybe a video of the phone in action so you can see I'm not just full of it as many other people that just like to annoy and bash brands. Thanks.

  • can anyone tell me if this phone has a problem of lagging when using it? i know motorola's can have a slow UI

  • hey guys im looking at buying this phone but im reading on certain sites that the hinge mechanism is loose and doesn't lock into place properly. Is anyone else having this problem and is it enough for it to become unbearable in the future.

  • Go for the new Motorola V9 FERRARI. This is a very sleek mobile with a beautiful Feather Ferrari case..........If you can not buy the Ferrari then just buy the V9 Ferrari. And since you are at it, buy a Ferrari matching cologne and feel like an Enzo man!!

  • nothing to say after you you have it all "kirt"

  • Does the razr2 v8 automatically separate the digits when entering the number? i.e: After the first three digits, does a dash and/or a hyphen automatically come after this; which would be directly between the first three and last four digits? This would be very important, as it would determine if I purchase or decline.

  • the battery life doesnt last more than 2 days even though i make very limited calls

  • the battery life doesnt last more than 2 days even though i make very limited calls

  • Hopefully at later stage or soonest MOTO can comeout with a new design unit of flip phone which a lot more features and the most is to reduce the weight. But please in future also to come in a package the Leather POUCH as it will be very nice to use the limited edition pouch when u buy the new HP. Im ur no 1 fan and user

  • Compare to V3i the HP always hang but for V9 im using 2GB card...so far NO HANG Battery common lah if u always hang on the phone..but if not can last for 2 days

  • like normal HP or Motorola HP...click the CAMERA area and just click laaa So simple.maaa

  • hey under the settings of this phone- under java settings, is it possible to turn the java application backlight off. the motorola v3x can do it. just wondering if the v9 can do it?

  • I hate the glossy finishing, too much fingerprints. otherwise it's the best. THe quality beyond my expectation

  • what is the mix gb of memory can it hold

  • Ok i bought it about 3 days now and i took 2 days and went through all the features: The Good: . Solid metal body- feels great . Looks Very nice . Nice blue lighting for keypad . External display is very dim and of poor quality, with no option to increase its brightness . Loves fingerprints . Huge when flipped open- it reaches the other side of my chin (im an adult) . Very little improvement on old moto UI . No Software disk included . No 3.5mm slot support . Cant see external display in sunlight . No Usb included . Java games shrink to 2" when playing: to make room for signal and battery bars . No screen cleaner . Few additional features to make u smile. . No Fm radio . No flash for camera

  • i just bought the rzv9 , beautiful phone , the battery life is very poor ,the music sound quality not as good as a s.e., the call quali. very good . camera and video are normal. if you want quality first go with a s.e. (battery life is amazing and is exellent in every way ) second, nokia great phones also but batt.life ...could be better motorola , GREAT ,GREAT LOOK ,but not on the top of their game for the rest .

  • can you please tell me good and bad difference between motorola V9 and motorola V8. Thanks!!

  • hey guys, may i know if the external display can be customised ? can some1 teach me how to remove the pics, sounds and vid icons ?

  • Hello, works with V9 Razr 8 GB microSD ? sry, for my bad english

  • Overall, the best quality phone on the market!

  • Does Razr2 V9 support album art in the music player such as the V8? Wouls someone answer me? And how is the sound quality? Is it loud?

  • Mahogany & Graphite - Available Colors

  • Here in my country... we charge brand new batt. for 4 hours.... Exactly 4 hours...

  • What's the diff between the v9 & v9m? Thankzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!!!!!!

  • wat games are there???

  • to all users of v9...wat games are there in this phone bcause im some1 who needs to hav games in the phone.

  • ok so far there r good n bad factors abt tis phone the bad its heavy for something so slim the software n ol looking user interface doesnt do the slick looking phone justice the good its sound quality is even better than sony walkman series phone which is the best music phone out there

  • Hope to know indeed if the bluetooth network providing PAN like Sony? I need it to connect with pocket PC / notebook thru bluetooh, accessing internet without dial-up. Thanks.

  • motorala v9 sux. it reaaly heavy and its super wide. i dont like the screen eithr it is too small

  • this phone doesn't have animations that you send on text

  • how long do i need to charge a new motorola v9????

  • to afzan, u can make video conference by the single camera on the front well between v8 and v9 they both hv their drawbacks v8 comes equipped with stereo bluetooth headset while v9 doesnt and has 512 onboard mem w/ no card slot while v9 has no bluetooth headset but has expandable memory personally i got v9 its gr8 but lacks fm which is a bummer n i hate the ol' moto uiq well the hardware is great, the phone looks stylish etc. but the hardware ruins it... makes the phone looks like an idiot once u c the uiq but great audio quality though esp thru the headset better than sony n nokia coz i had used them before n i am gonna sell tis n buy moto e8 instead coz it lacks the fm feature

  • how do yew take pictures out dis phone? when i go to picktures it dont appear kan any one help me!! dis has me really mad!

  • It's a quite nice phone. Very stylish but a little too heavy. The overall user experience was a 8 out of 10. Worth mentioning is that I've only user SE phones before I tried this one. So it took some time to get used to navigating in the menues. But I think that they are as just as good as the ones in a SE phone once you get used to them.

  • What's better? the ROKR E8 or this one??? I'm confused and planning to buy one soon but I got a hold of the E8 yesterday and it's cool, plus it's a candybar =)

  • Motorola has always been my first choice and I must say it never lets me down. I have used their phones from last 10 yrs now and it keeps getting better everytime. The v9 is a classy and a personality phone, amazing style, legendary light weight and over all a top class engeneering. I highly recommend this phone.

  • Hi all, for all V9 users. i would like to enquire on the over use of the phone. is it laggy and how is the SMS typing compared to SE? is it better or worst? (btw i use T9) pls help. thanks

  • To all v9 users is the main menu like the v8? Or K1? On the video i saw k1 menu but i don't know if it's really like that!.... Please answer me thank you:)

  • V9 is better, it has 3G (HSDPA)...

  • V8 & V9 both excellent phone!

  • guys.. which is better .. the v8 or the v9...

  • which is better .. v8 or the v9...

  • Hi guys.. need some info here..for those of u who have bought the phone..how do u go about making vid conference with this phone when it only possess one camera? anyone would love to answer will be a great help cause i intend to buy this phone for my mother's birthday..please.. thanks

  • I never use Motorola before but the first time I see and touch this phone, I have the feeling "I have to buy this phone". Man... I just feel so gergoues when I hold this phone, but at that time the price is still expensive, so I wait when the price get cheaper. But, after I read many opinions here, I got confused if should I buy this phone or not. Is it really the battery life is low? Does this phone have some problems like hang? I'll keep tracking this Phone Users Opinions

  • The V9 version sold in Spain is coming with an error: when you try to synchro with your PC using Motorola Phone Tools (MPC). Anytime you edit any contact in a PC (Windows XP or VISTA) and then you try to save the change in the V9 phone using MPC then an error window pops up saying it's impossible to complete the operation. No problem updating agenda or uploading pictures, aundio or video inside the phone, only with contacts. I've read it happens the same with UK version. Any comments?

  • just bought the V9, loved the construction and material. however, the first week i got the phone, it starts to shut down automatically on me while i am having a conversation. After changing the faulty set for a new one, the second handset keeps on hanging on me, it freezes when i try to text message. The staff working told me that i have to switch off my phone every night to prevent the phone from hanging/freezing, i tried, but it doesn't work. Am trying to get a refund or change back to nokia.

  • "if you want quality, go for sony ericsson." your kidding me right...?

  • I would like Moto to make another RAZR with the U9's features and... FM radio/RDS 3.2mp cam CIF video recording slightly bigger sceen.

  • if you want the looks, go for motorola. if you want features, go for nokia. if you want quality, go for sony ericsson.

  • One thing i didnt appreciate in the motorola V9 is that I cannot retrieve a business card/s which is equally important in my daily activities

  • If only there was a FM radio to make the most of the excellent sound quality and big external screen. Then it would be a true multimedia handset and I would probably buy one.

  • Hey everyone, would someone please tell me if the V9 supports album art in the music player just like the V8 or not?

  • momo, from my experience & in my own opinion SE walkman/music phones produce the best quality 'music sound'.... Nokia music phones are not in the same class! I personally rarely use my phone to listen to music, but nI can tell you that the V9 does play quality music sound! If you use the V9 as a mobile phone, then this phone definately give the best sound quality!(Actually, there is no other brand in the that can compare to Motorola when we talk about conversation sound quality - not even the Nokia 8800 Arte nor the much more expensive Vertu...also made by Nokia!). So you should know how good this V9 is???!!! Btw, I sold my 8800 Arte recently & I still have my Vertu constellation with me. SE & Nokia phones hang quite often but not this V9...mine never even hang once & different people that I know who is using this V9 never hang either! All I can say is that the V9 is an excellent phone & a great buy/investment!

  • in a nutshell.. i fell in love with this phone it looks amazing.. but i can't do without my old data (contacts, sms's.. etc.) on the old phone.. i have to sync in wutever way n i like playing music on my phone so i dont have to carry my mp3 player with me all the time any suggestions?

  • I bought this phone a bit over a month ago, and it's terrific. You can multi-task (play music, have game running, and text at the same time) because of the high speed processor and it looks really sexy. Only bad things are that a lot of good games don't work and the menu interface could be a lot better.

  • i'm thinkin of buying the v9 but i'm really into music.. is it good in this way? the music player in it is it good n easy to use like those in nokia? cuz everyone commented on everything but nevr mentioned the music part another thing i never used anything other than nokia for 8 yrs or so.. will i be able to adapt to the difference n like it? and one last thing will i be able to syncronize with my old cellphone to transfer all the data? plz reply asap cuz i'm really sick of my old one n i really need to decide right away on a new one

  • i really think that the v9 is a great phone and i'm using 1 on my own.. im just wondering if i can upload a different theme to this phone?

  • To Rachel, If you like the phone and its feature just buy it its a great phone I have one and my husband has one I sold 3 of my friends one and they are all happy with it,if you have a problem with it you take it back to where you bought it and get them to check it out and send it to be repaired. You usually go on a 24mth contract with 12mth warranty anyway!!!!!!!

  • To the person who wanted to know about the camera in and outside. you have to close the phone to take a picture of yourself and using the smaller button on the left side of you phone. Hope this has been helpfull

  • sorry guys i just want to know only if this phone have secondary camera inside like v3xx for using 3G? i'm very tired to take look back all the opinions hehehe :) if it is ok... thanks

  • I bought the V9 after a lot of research. I am happy with the features. While texting I have trouble with the 7 & 9 buttons. Does anyone else have this problem. Still an Orsome phone. What will I get next?.

  • i like it Very much and i bought it ... Simple and Practical ... but i Just want to Say ( why Should Motorola always be with a weak Sound and Small Screen )

  • this is simply a great phone! it wont hang on me and its really durable!

  • Hi All - I was abit apprehensive to buy the V9 at first. After looking at it for a long i finally bought it 3 mths ago. Now, Ive no regrets at all. Its a sexy, pretty phone and easy to use. So, if you are really looking for a V9, pls go ahead. Btw this is the 1st motorola phone that Ive owned. Very happy with my purchase & Ive even bought a 2GB memory card to stall my songs & pics. :)

  • Fantastic phone to use including some very practical & considerate functions for the users.

  • RAZR2 V8's OS is Linux. It doesn't support 3G.

  • very nice sexy fone.big screnn amazing and fun tastic

  • Hey guys, im just wondering... whats the diff. of v8 and v9 besides the fact that v9 has a mem. card?

  • Very nice and sexy phone! The fact that you are here on this V9 page means you are interested and you like it.. ^_^ (includes all hate opinions)

  • To panaghoy88: I really doubt if you are responsible for what you said???!!! Sound to me you are a Motorola hater!...are you a Nokia fan or something?! I bet you don't even own a Motorola; so why the hell are you giving mis-lead information to serious buyers(like 'rachel' below) who want a good over all, easy to use & reliable mobile phone(without much gadget)???!!! I had brought a Motorola A1200 'MING' since the first day it was available for sale in my country & I'm still using it...hassle free! I've also been using a Motorola K1 & it's still working almost perfect!(mind you that I use this K1 very roughly!) If "rachel" brought the V9 & is not happy with the phone, I'll personally refund his/her money(within a week from new) & buy out his/her V9!...promised & guarenteed! w

  • Never ever buy a motorola. I know a lot of people who used the recent line of cellphones of motorola and it degrades in less than a year. I know for a fact that they did not abuse their cellphones, they took care of it. Problems like the OS hanging, the battery information displayed is wrong, the phone not turning on even if it is plugged in through the charger and lots more. Save money and buy another brand of cellphone.

  • rachel, pls. see the opinion below:- 2008-04-19 23:30 TR{k This is an excellent phone to use...I'm comparing it to the 8800 Arte cause they are in the same category and the V9 is, honest to God, 100 times better! PS. I'm neither a Motorola nor Nokia fan.

  • i'm getting a new phone and after much hassle i decided to get the V9. however people kept telling me that the phone sucks and i shouldn't get it so im confused once again. can anyone with the phone tell me the pros and cons of getting this phone?

  • Does anyone know if you can de-activate the touch screen feature on the front of the phone?

  • there's been alot of talk about the two different OS running on V9 and V8...i just want to know if there's really a huge difference between the two...(considering i'll only be using it for talk & text) thanks

  • battery life is excellent

  • does the battery sucks?

  • Excelent Crystal Talk technology used. Excelent pictures quality.

  • The best phone than ever seen. Excelent to talk.

  • I'm using both the 8800 Arte & Motorola V9 at the same time. The material Nokia use on the 8800 Arte is very good but the build quality; or more precise, the manufacturing 'quality control' is not quite up to standard!!! As compared to the Motorola V9; I'm surprised to find that the Moto is better built even though the 8800 Arte is 3 times the price of the V9!!! Regarding usage-wise, the Moto V9 is a lot more user-friendly in almost every respect. I'm on my 4th 8800 Arte in 2 months' time, cause the other three have hardware/software issue so I kept on having to take my phones back to Nokia for exchange!!! This Moto V9 is great, not a problem so far! The battery-life is good with strong reception & great sound quality! Even the 2MP camera perform better than the 3.2MP camera of the 8800 Arte!!! The 8800 Arte only out perform this V9 with the ringing tone ..... which is louder, better sound quality & more distinctive!

  • nc! thanks!

  • Crystal Talk technology is really amazing

  • you might video call using main camera with external screen as viewscreen and reply message also using external screen using template message or message that you have set before. i say sorry for this user interface. too old. why moto don't use MOTOMAGX for its user interface?

  • you can make a video call and it's possible to write a message during the music plays

  • does this fone can perform texting while listening to music?..in short multi-tasking.. pls help..thanks!

  • Can we make a video call by using this phone?

  • A few months back, a mobile phone salesman recommand me to buy the Moto V9 instead of the SE W910i; but I did not listen to him & brought the W910i. Now that I brought the V9 & found that it is a better 'phone' overall for everyday use! I highly recommand the V9 to anyone who want a well design, good built quality with practical function(no gimmicks) & reliable phone. If anyone is looking for a phone with almost every function build in, then the HTC Cruise should be a good choice...

  • My friend gifted me this phone as a present and I was kinda like not too sure about it because I used to have a Motorazr v3i and it was mad crap. But this phone is the shit! it's awesome~

  • Can anyone tell me how to get screensaver to work on V9? I've tried setting both gif and jpg graphics but it is never displayed no matter what I set for things like screensaver delay, display time-out etc. Thanx!! Deenok

  • I want this phone. It's Camera is very clear(: I wnt this Badly.

  • Dear all, I am deciding between V9 and Nokia E51. I like the V9's built quality, sound quality and is like a image phone. On the other hand, the E51, has almost all the functions under that case and at a good deal cost. My main needs is organiser, which i use it for my work schedules. My decision now is more skew towards E51. Hope to hear some of your advice here and hopefully not to regret for not getting the V9.

  • What an excellent phone! I must praise Motorola.... The camera is very good for a 2MP camera. The voive quality is very impressive. Handsfree speaker phone quality already surpass Nokia(maybe on a par with my 8800 Arte). The screens are nice & clear. The interface & functions are easy to use. Unlike some Nokia models, it keep full details of all calls with duration & time of call record. Good build quality. Good battery life(standby & talk time). No lag. No hang(so far). Very user friendly. Price is very reasonable now(under US$400 in my country. I paid mine for only a little over US$300 cause I get a 20% discount off the list price from my service provider as a loyal client during the promotion period...WITH NO CONTRACT). All I can say about the V9 is that this is a dependable & trustworthy communication device. Very well done by Motorola! Mission accomplished!

  • i had the first razr once, the interface was awful. i hope this once isn't the same

  • personally i don't like it. i think it is way too flashy. the design, at least to me, is overdone in some ways...

  • i was wondering if this phone does video ringtones? if so, wer do i get them from? ive seen some for nokia handsets but yet to see any for motorola's...HELP! fanx in advance!!!

  • Impressive!

  • Excellent phone. If you flash the software its even better! Sound quality is great and the camera is a decent 2MP, the talk time is also outstanding. It's not a high-end feature phone, but an excellent mid-range device.

  • i fall in love with v9!!! it's the best to me. but unfortunately it's very expensive...

  • is there radio in this phone???

  • Well... quite good. But motorola has taken into account only the design, which is in fact too flashy... the keys are being destroyed so easy and of course it is only for those who want to show they are someone....

  • Its good and the best phone for me!i have v9 now..

  • sweet, fast, very happy, if you liked the first razr your gonna love sthis one

  • Unlike Nokia phones, Motorola mobile phones DO NOT have heat-up problem during extended conversation!

  • Quality of the handsfree speaker phone is excellent too!

  • Luichi, Trust yourself. Do not trust those voting results ... they don't mean anything! If you want a phone with gadgets, go for other brands. If you want the best call quality; Motorola phones are the best choices ... especially those models with the build-in 'voice clarity'. Talking about name brand phones, Samsung are the worst! SonyEricsson are easiet to use & they have the best UI. Nokia phones are generally OK but nothing really outstanding! I have a Vertu(also made by Nokia) & a 8800 Arte & I have owned all Nokia 8 series phones since the 8810. They are top line phones from Nokia but call quality still can't cme close to Motorola! With this RAZA2V9, I found that Motorola finally made improvement which is after setting the alarm; it will show an alarm icon on both screens. Hope that my opinion can be of help to you?! Regards,

  • I mean, how can everyone be talking about how good this phone is and the voting results pretty much don't show the same opinion...Same goes with the U9, it's worse in voting results...

  • An excellent phone for sure. Worth a 9/10 rating!

  • Any 3G phone can be used for conversation in Japan & South Korea!

  • This phone model is a Quad-band, so you could use it on any part of the world. There's no problem regarding UMTS, HSDPA, WCDMA and among others, because these are just mobile internet data networks being used to connect to the worldwide web.. these networks only vary on the speed capacity they bear (where HSDPA is the fastest) but beyond that their uses are all just the same..technically speaking -Rick (tm)-

  • It is said that to be able to use in Japan you need UTMS. Can this phone be used in Japan?

  • there is one way i know of to transfer messages that is to download super bluetooth hack off google and save it to your old phone or sdcard

  • A very good phone but a bit too wide! Actually Motorola could have used the extra space for a bigger screen, or make the phone a little bit smaller in all dimensions!

  • Here's a question. I recently bought the V9. My previous phone was the original RAZR back two years ago. Anyways, with the V9 I had to change my SIM card. They were able to copy my address book from one SIM card to the next. But that was all. So my question is, is there anyway to transfer all my saved text messages from my old phone to my new one? And if so, how?? Any input would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks

  • yes, it can do video calling... GUYS, why don't you check the features before judging the Phone?? Check here in GSMarena and also in Motorola so evryone will be at peace about this Video Calling Issue. I myself before had an argurent right in this forum about the video call. I keep on saying it can't make video call because it doesn't have a secondary camera blah blah blah like that.. So I'M ADVISING EVERYONE HERE TO CHECK THE MOTOROLA SITES IF UR NOT SATISFIED IN GSMARENA.

  • I have both a Nokia E51 and a V9. I read somewhere that the V9 uses a 500mhz processor. However comparing with my E51, the V9 lags real bad. For example, if i click successive button presses to navigate thru the menus, the V9 struggles to keep up and lags. However with my E51 every keypress in almost instant. Don't be fooled by people who says just cos its using Lunux-Java OS means its fast and stable. That may be true with computer OS, but sadly not the case here. Secondly, the small battery takes really long to charge compared to other phones. This V9 with 950mAh battery takes about 2 hours to charge while the 1070mAh battery in my E51 charges is about 1.5 hours. Moto never made any great advancements with the new RAZR series despit all the hype. User interface falls back in terms of effeciency. However they still are great as design though.

  • how this phone's battery life???

  • can this phone take pictures from the front ? with it's flip closed, i mean. & is it really shiny in real life, too ? i've never had a moto phone before. been using sony ericsson all the way but now i'm planning to get myself a v9. hopefully no regrets ! thanks.

  • "IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE!" (a repost for the new comers) Nope:) are you sure the Razor2 V9 has no videocalling feature?:) it's a tricky design.. normally, maybe consumers are just focusing on the "dual cam" presence of a certain phone but this time i think motorola has come up with a specific design that is a bit "tricky" in the human eye.. Here's how: If you would notice, the Razr-2 V9 has two screens in & out that seem to be of the same sizes?.. now, to perform video calling all you have to do is to close the flip, face to the camera, make a videocall, then Booom! you are now on-board! hehehe see that?:) how tricky, right?:) -Rick (tm)

  • hey i just got the fone today and i was trying to transfer files to it but my other devices cant seem to find it. i went to the setup and clicked 'find me' but it still wont get picked up by my other devices. can some one plese help me and tell me how to get it to be visible to other devices plese.

  • ugly looking body color

  • Dave, Yes, you have to close the flip to make or receive video call.

  • hi,just wanna ask those who already using this phone..is there any 2nd camera for video calling?seems like this phone only have one single camera at the front part..so does it mean whenever i want to make a video call i have to close the flip or turn it around?

  • hi all v9 user, does the external and inner screen can see clearly even under direct sunlight?

  • An incredible phone! Motorola still pioneer the mobile communication by prodducing the best sound quality in the business after al these years!

  • Dis phone driving mi crazy how do u apply ringtonez, this is the 1st Rzr dat is not so user friendly....

  • Does anyone know if this phone's software works on mac as or is it for pc only? Which phones are mac compatible besides the iphone?

  • Choose V9 instead of V8, because this one has videocalling, close the flip, face the camera, then boomm, you are now on videocalling.. Mostly artists choose Motorola due to its name, and the pioneer in mobile communications devices.. David Beckham, Europe's Soccer SuperStar also uses Razr phone, he modeled one! And also some Korean Drama / Novel casts, prefer Moto's too..

  • is this the phone used by the lead actor and actress in the korean drama oh soo jung?

  • i've bought this phone 2 days ago, wow! it's really an incredible phone! i like this phone so much. especially it's model and it's outer side. this phone has a feature to open sms, open gallery etc from outside just by touching the outer screen. i have no complaint bout this phone, except for its battery! i don't understand, it just stand for 1 day only, so i have to charge it daily. Luckily the charging time only takes 2hours sharp! hehe. Well for your information, i'm an sms maniac and in 1 day i can send more than 100 sms with my girl. is it normal if my battery only last 1 day? that's all i have to say, thanx.

  • I've had this phone for 2weeks now and I have not found anything wrong with this phone. After seeing the past cheaper models of the Razors I refuse to buy one until now. I've read some of the negative things about this phone and totally disagree. I use my phone for persoal use, anything else I prefer to use a compurter. So if your looking for a all purpose general phone that is also very sturdy the Razr2 V9 is the way to go!!!!!

  • I'm korean. in korea, many people wants to get this phone and me either. (i'm 13 now) i really want to get this phone, but this phone is very very expensive. (about $500)........... i should choose samsung's phone or this phone. what should i do??

  • Moto always have their own first design ..other will follow... i like the shape and the design... i am using moto phone many year and i use to it the function,,,

  • Ooops, I mean the Synergy UI. The better Linux OS is on the V8 version, sorry.

  • I bet you hate the interface because you ain't used to Linux yet on a phone. I already know how to use that in an hour with a demo phone.

  • Do not buy this phone...i love Motorola phones, this is the worst phone i ever had..sorry to say

  • Motorola's interface is ugly & their phones do not have much features; BUT if you use your phone mainly for making & receiving calls, then Motorola phones still give you the best call quality in the business!

  • I planned to buy a V8, however in Malaysia they actually pulled the V8 out of the market because of problems with the phone and aso try to push the public to buy the V8, so the price is comeing down each week. This phone looks good, but the interface is very confusing and does not look professional. I hope the headset's speaker is better than the one on V3i. When you open the flip the open flip feels loose. After all this I have planned to buy an iphone in which is available in Malaysia at a good price and sofar no one had problems with them.

  • Anyone can help? After keying ur msg and click "send to", is there anyway to view the contact list only just by the name and not name and number together? Thanks.

  • guys, if there's a wifi acces, can I browse the web with this phone?

  • We are talking about 'mobile phone' here and NOT 'mobile MP3' or 'mobile camera' or 'mobile games' nor 'mobile internet'!!! As a phone, Motorola still produce thebest sound quality in the business!....but it's speaker phone is not so good!

  • This phone is ONLY great for design and material.. The battery life is terrible! and the external screen is not used to its fullest ability. Applications are nothing special. Smartphones w/ keyboards are the way to go and I will upgrade to a HTC very soooooon

  • No other phone/brand can produce the same excellent sound quality like Motorola ....from day 1 till now that mobile phone exist ! ! !

  • the camera of this phone is useless. this phone is only good at design & matirial.

  • Yet another hater. RAZR phones may look the same, but at least they did not copy from other designs.

  • @ Sue Synching your phone with the PC? You really need the Motorola Phonetools CD of V9 for that.. @PeqE Sorry, you've got a different identification code.. i'm the real "Rick (tm)" with "vj1k" code on the lower lefthand corner of the message box, see that??? (vj1k)

  • hey guys. just want to know, Why should I not buy this phone? I'm so craving for it, but I dont want to have it. So anything bad about this phone? thanks.

  • Rick, sorry. No CD with the Razr2 V9. The only fault I have found with the phone is the difficulty I am having syncing the thing to my computer.

  • @ Ren If you bought a brandnew phone from an authorized store outlet / dealer, you could find in the package a software cd named "Motorola Phone Tools", kindly install it on your PC, follow instructions accordingly, then when everything is done-up, connect your phone via USB connector, so on and so forth,, follow the steps,, then on your pc screen there you'll see an image of your phone, kindly take a look on the menu there you'll see "Internet Connection" click it then BOOM,, you are now ready to surf the net just by selecting the browser... before anything make sure your phone's web access settings are properly configured.. always, Rick (tm)

  • hi.. i bought this phone but i dont know how to use it in surfing the internet.. how can i surf to the internet using v9? i hope you guys can help me..

  • @ kWUD of course you may set your mp3 songs or even wma's as ringtones.. Hey Guys, Someone has just used my name, it's an intruder, joke... Well, i'm the real Rick(tm) with identification code Vj1k.. see that??

  • Cna u put mp3 files as ur ringtune?

  • It is a really good phone. For me, it is more than enough. The mp3 player is adequate for me and the camera although mediocre, gives a clear picture. I didn't use the camera much as i have a Canon IXUS. The BT transfer is smooth and hassle free. Recommended to anyone looking for a practical and easy to use phone.

  • Does this phone come standard with the HTML browser ability, or do we download Opera? In Canada, on the "red" brand provider specifically, does this device come with HTML and IMAP?

  • Period point blank...Its a phone not an mp3 player..It just a design feature...Do not expect it to put out 100db with the clarity of the bose speaker system.... I bought the v9m(razr2) I love the phone...No complaints as far as it being functional. The look and feel of the phone is of very good quality...I would recommend this phone to anyone...Camera quality is awesome...I have no regrets on the purchase of this phone...

  • Guys, I'm not a fan of Motorola but when i saw this phone i got this "cant say no" feeling. How is this phone despite its gorgeous looks? I'm more concerned about the user friendliness and are there any software problems with it? (firmware) come on guys...gimme the big picture...

  • Does this phone hav a privacy lock like the ones in samsung phones?

  • @Terence is this "beauty" easy to use ? i think i like it & will get one soon. 2mp camera is ok, i have a kodak anyway :) what i need is a good mp3 sound and hsdpa. one more thing, is there any trouble transfering files via BT. if no, this gonna be my next fone. thanks

  • very bad choise??????????????

  • @RA}q Why makes you think i didn't have the phone?and why do i have to take the hassle of making a link just to prove that i own one? As a matter of fact i do have Razr V9. In the external screen (touch screen), you can read SMSes, return call, watch video playback, listen to music and view the pictures stores in the phone. I buy this phone coz I'm sick n tired of Nokia Symbian OS. I previously own N73 ME. RA}q just give me ur email so i can post my phone picture to you if you still thinks i didn't own it.

  • hey guys, can anyone tell me why the battery life of my motorola razr2 v9 does not last very long, i changed the battery thinking it was a faulty baettery, but it's doing the samething, it only last me about 2 days if i dont use the phone much and 1 1/2 if i use it alot... PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP

  • hi all...... why are we wasting time debating over phones? I read this from a book, don;t try to change people's mind, even if you are right they will not agree with you. so why dont we respect each other choices. Can we just focus on v9 on this spot, rather than talk about the company business and future (let the CEO and staff do that, that's their job). I've been using moto phones since'96 and they got plus and minus points but hey i keep using moto, after all nothing is perfect rite??? i am using v9 now and i love the phone and that's all the matter for me. cheers......

  • This technology is inside Motorola Zine Series like Motorola Z12 and more Motorola Kodak Camera Phone; start produce from Q2,2008. Kodak Revolutionizes Image Capture with New High-Resolution CMOS Image Sensor Industrys First 1.4 Micron, 5 Megapixel, High-ISO CMOS Sensor Combines Two New KODAK Technologies for Better Pictures from a Smaller Sensor ROCHESTER, N.Y., Feb. 4 -- Eastman Kodak Company (NYSE:EK) is enabling a new level of performance in consumer imaging devices by redesigning the basic building blocks used to collect light and is incorporating that technology into a brand-new sensor. The company has combined its recently announced Color Filter Pattern technology with a new CMOS pixel to create the KODAK KAC-05020 Image Sensor, the worlds first 1.4 micron, 5 megapixel device. Designed for mass-consumer camera applications such as mobile phones, Kodaks new sensor enables a new level of resolution in small optical formats, using significantly smaller pixels. But unlike other small-pixel sensors which can produce poor images, especially under low light conditions, the 1.4 micron pixel used in the KAC-05020 Image Sensor changes this convention, providing image quality that can equal or surpass what is available from current devices using larger, 1.75 micron pixel CMOS designs. Camera phones and other small-pixel consumer imaging devices often suffer from poor performance, especially under low light conditions. To manufacture sensors that utilize these very small pixels only two to three times the wavelength of visible light we needed to challenge everything we knew about pixel and sensor design, said Chris McNiffe, General Manager of Kodaks Image Sensor Solutions business. By completely rethinking the design of the CMOS pixel and leveraging our work with high sensitivity color filter patterns and algorithms, Kodak was able to develop this remarkable new sensor that will enable a level of imaging performance previously unavailable from CMOS devices. Key to the performance of this new sensor is the KODAK TRUESENSE CMOS Pixel, a re-engineering of the fundamental design and architecture of traditional CMOS pixels. In a standard CMOS pixel, signal is measured by detecting electrons that are generated when light interacts with the surface of the sensor. As more light strikes the sensor, more electrons are generated, resulting in a higher signal at each pixel. In the KODAK TRUESENSE CMOS Pixel, however, the underlying polarity of the silicon is reversed, so that the absence of electrons is used to detect a signal. This change enabled a series of improvements to the design and structure of the pixel that ultimately results in CMOS imaging performance that rivals that available from CCD image sensors. Light sensitivity in the new sensor is enhanced through the use of the recently announced KODAK TRUESENSE Color Filter Pattern, which adds panchromatic, or clear, pixels to the red, green and blue pixels already on the sensor. Since these pixels are sensitive to all wavelengths of visible light, they collect a significantly higher proportion of the light striking the sensor. This provides a 2x to 4x increase in sensitivity to light (from one to two photographic stops) compared to current sensor designs, improving performance in low light and reducing motion blur in action shots. At 5 million pixels, the KAC-05020 provides the highest resolution available in the popular optical format, and enables imagery up to ISO 3200 and support for full 720p video at 30 fps. The sensor is also supported by the Texas Instruments OMAPTM and OMAP-DM solutions, enabling a host of KODAK Image Processing and Enhancement Features (such as digital image stabilization, rapid auto-focus, red-eye reduction, and facial recognition) that provide digital camera-like performance in a camera phone. For consumers today, high resolution is required but no longer sufficient, said Fas Mosleh, Worldwide Director of CIS Marketing and Business Development for Kodaks Image Sensor Solutions business. Smaller and thinner camera phones, high performance under low light, and superior video performance are the types of features that will enable the next generation of consumer imaging devices. And with this new Kodak sensor, camera designers can now put those features directly into the hands of their customers. The new sensor expands Kodaks portfolio of CMOS and CCD image sensors for consumer and applied imaging applications, and positions the company to take advantage of the growing demand for high-quality image capture in a variety of devices, regardless of size. The KAC-05020 will be demonstrated by Kodak at the GSMA Mobile World Congress held Feb 11 14 in Barcelona, Spain. Samples of the KAC-05020 are scheduled to be available in Q2 2008.

  • i wanna ask to all V9 users in indonesia... what messenger can be use in V9? i've tried shmessenger n yehba for motorola, but when i finished download it and try to sign in, the connection is always failed or error. can u pls tell me how d right setting for messenger? thanks...

  • Hello Moto?

  • @Terence Give fact to approve you really has Motorola Razr 2 V9. Give link a photo of your Motorola Razr 2 V9 and tell me what can you do with external screen. If you can't give fact; so you are liar.

  • in the era of 5megapixel phones, this is quite outdated. still 2MP? what happened to motorola? not even wifi is present.

  • I like this phone so much.Had it for a week now.So so far so good except for the battery life.Mine only lasted for 36 hours when playing songs for around 2 hours (maybe less). The front body tends to attracts fingerprint easily. But i like its finishing though. Its kinda classy if u ask me. The music player is also very good.Comparable to the SE Walkman with its bass boost. The supplied earphone also produces superb sound. Couldn't ask for more. This is so far the most amazing phone i've ever had. What's more, there is no lag time between application compared to Nokia Symbian OS phone.

  • Motorola CEO takes charge of troubled handset unit Mon Feb 4, 2008 12:14am EST NEW YORK, Feb 3 (Reuters) - Motorola Inc (MOT.N: Quote, Profile, Research) said its Chief Executive Greg Brown was taking direct control of the company's loss-making handset business, replacing Stu Reed, in a move aimed at helping speed up the unit's recovery. Motorola announced the decision to employees in an internal memo sent on Friday, a day after it announced that it was considering options including a split-off of its mobile unit, which has been losing market share to rivals such as Nokia (NOK1V.HE: Quote, Profile, Research) and Samsung Electronics (005930.KS: Quote, Profile, Research). Reed, who took over as head of the mobile phone unit last Summer, will stay at Motorola and work closely with Brown, spokeswoman Jennifer Erickson said on Sunday. Motorola has been criticized for a weak phone line-up and failing to come up with a strong successor to its Razr phone. The company also faces pressure from activist investor Carl Icahn, who has said he would nominate four directors for Motorola's board this year. Icahn said in a television interview on Friday that he wanted new management for the mobile division. Greg Brown took over as CEO in January, replacing Ed Zander. Motorola on Jan. 23 warned it may lose more market share and post an operating loss this quarter as its cellphone business is taking longer than expected to turn around. It also backed off its forecast for its mobile devices division to return to profitability in 2008. Motorola forecast a first-quarter loss per share from continuing operations of 5-7 cents, before restructuring costs. Analysts had expected a profit of 9 cents per share, according to Reuters Estimates. (Reporting by Sinead Carew; Editing by Jan Dahinten) Reuters 2008 All rights reserved

  • Sunday, January 20, 2008 What's on Motorola's agenda? On Jan. 1, Ed Zander officially stepped down as Motorola's (MOT) chief executive, with former Chief Operating Officer Greg Brown taking the reins. According to Gartner (IT), in the third quarter of 2007, Motorola's market share in the handset sector dropped 7.6 percentage points compared with the same period in 2006, relegating the vendor to the No. 3 position, behind Nokia (NOK) and Samsung. The tech giant is clearly wobbling and the changing of the guard raises the question: What role will design play in the company's new era? Will Brown call on Motorola's designers and engineers to try to match the success of the Razr, the iconic product launched during the Zander reign? Clues as to where Motorola may be headed in the next three to five years can be found in an internal document, the Motorola Technology Outlook (MTO), which is initially available only to senior managers in the corporate technology office and business units (it will be posted later on the company's corporate intranet for all 66,000 employees to examine). Compiled annually since 2004, the MTO features trend analysis from the company's Research Visionary Board, an external group of 47 design and technology experts based around the world, and a spectrum of staff members, who identify key trends and concepts in mobile devices, the Internet, and other areas. BusinessWeek received exclusive access to a detailed summary of this year's 20-page document, which has never before been released externally. A jumping-off point The MTO outlines six directions that the company may focus on while planning its new long-term projects. They're meant to be macro-ideas, rather than direct recommendations, and, indeed, this year's trends seem both obvious and abstract. They are: "the immersive Internet," meaning that consumers will be online constantly, including on their handsets; "hosted applications," or standardized software that's available on a Wi-Fi or cell-phone network rather than vendor-specific applications available only on one device; "video rerouted," or TV seen not only on TV but on other platforms; "virtually there," or posting the physical world online in real time via sensors, GPS, and RFID tags; "securing the bits," or making mobile phones safer against hackers and identity thieves; and "stimulating the spectrum," or the emergence of entirely new networks beyond the traditional cellular ones. While some of these seem painfully simple, the report's overseer, Joe Dvorak, technology futurist in Motorola's corporate strategy office, argues that the ways in which trends are applied in research and development within Motorola is complex. And the report does also provide scenarios for theoretical products or potential usages. For instance, the document proposes "snowflake devices"customized gadgets, such as smartphones or handheld computers, that display content specific to a consumer's taste and which feature speech and gesture recognition for a more human "feel." Or mobile handsets with fast-loading interfaces for quicker video downloads. While mere sketches of hypothetical handset applications, these proposals do seem to indicate the beginnings of Motorola's response to Apple's (AAPL) iPhone. Certainly they suggest Motorola is looking to enhance its user interfaces and software, two areas that critics have often pinpointed as needing radical improvement. Focusing on the user experience "It's not a surprise that Motorola is having the problems they're having now, because software and user experience are the real differentiators," says William Clark, an analyst with market researcher Gartner. Indeed, despite initial acclaim for the superslim design of the Razr, which became a must-have accessory soon after its debut in 2004, consumer complaints about the phone's usability soon bubbled to the surface. So did voluble criticism of the phone's user interface for texting and the audibility of calls. A prevailing conclusion? The Razr was a beautiful device housing mediocre software. Clark observes that Motorola's phone portfolio, while often sleek and even featuring unique features such as live TV, lacks a clearly defined "Motorola experience" in terms of brand identity. In addition, he says, by offering so many different styles for so many different market segments, Motorola's brand equity has become diluted to the point of being nearly generic. "The Razr 2, for example, has no soul," he says, adding, "Motorola has become the Acme of phones," a reference to the fictional maker of everything from anvils to birdseed. Motorola seems to be suffering a condition common to many of the old-school tech giants: how to couple their huge engineering or technological know-how with what a user really needs. "The tech part is easy [for Motorola]. The social and human parts are hard. That's the part Motorola has difficulty with, because it's an engineering company," says Don Norman, the author of numerous books on design and user experience (including The Design of Everyday Things) (BusinessWeek.com, 12/5/07), and a professor at Northwestern University, who has served on the Research Visionary Board since its inception five years ago. Clark, meanwhile, points to the company's recently released Crystal Talk technology, featuring two microphones that distinguish between the talker's voice and surrounding noise. It's bleeding-edge tech, and a potential selling point if only Motorola executives can work out how to market it to consumers effectively. And the company has added innovative design elements that might offer a more appealing user experience than even the iPhone: For example, the forthcoming Rokr E8 (an update of the disappointing Rokr MP3 phone that syncs with iTunes) features a flat, iPhone-esque touch screen along with software that offers a sensation of touch when using the digital keypad. And it has FM radio, which the iPhone lacks. Exchange of ideas Another Research Visionary Board member and former Motorola employee, Andy Seybold, who heads a Santa Barbara (Calif.)-based consulting firm, the Andrew Seybold Group, believes the MTO initiative might suggest the company is at last paying attention to its consumers' experiencesand also working on its internal communication. That's also been a big problem for Motorola, which observers say has led to competing mobile products and a lack of overall brand cohesion. "Motorola has always had a problem sharing thoughts and technology across groups," Seybold says. "It's full of fiefdoms, and in the past they didn't cross-pollinate technologies. But the [MTO] document is so full of so many different ideas, it can be seen as one way of cross-group pollination." Motorola's Dvorak emphasizes that the company is working toward synergizing its various departments. "We have a group that looks at consumer intelligence with the goal of analyzing consumer trends [vs. technology trends] in a similar time frame of three to five years, and we are now looking to collaborate more closely," he says. And although the consumer research group doesn't publish a report similar to MTO, an exchange of ideas is occurring, Dvorak concedes, "in an ad hoc way." In other words, the synergy isn't systemized, at least for now. Whether this year's MTO, which seems to address problems that analysts and Motorola insiders are quick to identify with Zander, will spark the design of must-have phones with a distinctive Motorola user experience is yet to be seen. New CEO Brown may decide to ditch the MTO strategy altogetherit's a relic from the previous era, after all. His challenge is to capitalize on the design and technology advances already in place while waiting.

  • there's no better way in writing criticisms than what i've wrote here. you don't want to be gentle on a "dying" mobile phone manufacturer. i can't understand why it is SO hard for some people to accept the flaws and bad strategies of motorola. you always PRAISE moto but in reality, they're having so much trouble inside. is it really hard to understand that MOTO NEEDS HELP? the company has accepted THAT FACT and i find it ironic that the some consumers can't accept it. i don't know if some people here are well aware of what's going on with motorola and just PRETENDING to know almost everything about the company. motorola doesn't need lots of praises right now. they need HELP, ok? can't YOU understand that? suggestions are very welcome here and i dont know why some "moto fans" aren't giving any.

  • iam sure there's a better way of writing to comment on the cons of motorola phones? look at ur own words, aint they full of sarcasm? i agree this is for opinions posting but dont readers have the right to voice their doubts and clarify them? if u aint aware of, more than half of all these posts are bout ppl raising their doubts. their questions were politely replied by generous ppl. bare with me, before u comment on others, please take some time to look at urself first. sorry people of ive polluted this forum, still, motorola certainly aint bad. =D

  • @johndru / vx6A Hahaha... You must back with your streaptease video clip and posting here because your statement said Motorola stick to 2 Mega Pixel Camera is wrong. The fact is Motorola already produce 3 Mega Pixel Camera Phone (Motorola MS550). I waiting for your streaptease video clip to posting here.

  • so what happened to the 3 Mega Pixel Camera Phone (Motorola MS550)? did motorola picked up a good review in it? why are SO affected when someone criticizes motorola? are you not happy that critics are concerned and motorola is well aware of the fact that they have lots of improvement to do? why do you think motorola's market share dropped SO BADLY? is it because majority of the users are dumb and didn't see the positive side of motorola or is it just because motorola isn't that competitive-enough to handle their mobile phone division? WHY IS THERE A NEED FOR THEM TO SELL THEIR MOBILE PHONE DIVISION? definitely i'll be back here after the congress.

  • Today Motorola TEXEL music phone pre-release image.

  • @Rick (tm) They are really blind and doesn't have knowledge. They just know how many Mega Pixel. With same mega pixel but have different results. Many factor: + camera chip + camera lens + resolutions (mega pixel) + software + angle Some mobile phone brand got trick. When you see in the mobile phone LCD is look really good but when you print the result is awful.

  • @ Rick Hi there mate. I see you still providing some excellent advice to the readers. keep up the good work there...nice to know there are people like you out there. I eventually gave up looking for and finding a RAZR V9, it just kept on eluding me. Suppose I was just not destined to have one of these beauties. They truly are stunning. I have however found what I was looking for in the LG Viewty. Very nice, neat and capable phone. Its just a pity that Motorola is losing customers in South Africa by offering its old phones here as new releases. To all you Moto fans out there...love your phones, they truly are excellent. Rick, Catch me on the Viewty page.. will get some objective feedback to you and other Viewty owners.

  • @ MotoMania I agree with you, coz critics who don't know about technology tend to judge moto,, say for example they just focus themselves on the "best foot forward" features of certain handsets without considering some other angles.. like "5 megapixels camera" do they really know what this mean? Pixelation means the Image size,, Pixelation refers to sizes like 1200X1600 (2MP), 640x480 (VGA), 1200x1024 (1MP), and so on.. BUT Picture quality / precision / clarity / accuracy is a different story i must say.. and i stand that when it comes to this feature (precision, et al) Motorola Stand-out among the rest even it offers a 2-megapixel SIZE Photo.. The bottomline is "More Megapixels doesn't mean More image clarity, precision or accuracy" -Rick (tm)-

  • @johndru Yea...yea... whatever you said. Give me fact about you said Motorola stick to 2 Mega Pixel Camera; if Motorola has 5 Mega Pixel Cameras, so what do you want to do? How about you make Streaptease video clips and posting here? Don't forget come back here again after Mobile World Congress 2008 (11 until 14 February 2008). How about Nokia? How about Nokia 6555 copy from Motorola Krzr, Nokia N76 copy from Motorola V3 Razr, Nokia 6300 copy from Motorola Slvr, Nokia dual hinge copy from Motorola MPX 300. What's up with Nokia company? Nokia just can copy from Motorola? You ask Why they don't upgrade the screen size ( always 2 inches and below). what's up with your brain and eyes? Do you use your brain and eyes? How about Motorola Rokr E6 and Motorola Q Series with 2.4 inches. If you want big screen; bring your laptop or LCD or Plasma. The fact is Nokia using Java Linux too. Look all type of Nokia only change colors and same design only change features; is that new phones? How many type Nokia 8800? Nokia 8800 only change colors and accessories. How many type Nokia N82? Nokia N82 only change colors. Don't forget come back again and your streaptease video clip here

  • motorola can't afford to have the kind of strategy where they stick to 2megapixel cams and let the consumers wait for their higher-end phones. i don't know why this company doesn't integrate great camera sensors like carl-zeiss or why they don't upgrade the screen size( always 2inches and below). what's up with this company? i also have to comment on their UI (java-linux and symbian UIQ). they don't have great appeal to consumers. why not put symbian to the ones find in nokia n-series? just like what samsung is doing (and will be doing in their new phones). for now, swallow your pride motorola or you won't gain more than what you expect.

  • hey guys! i just bought my v9 2 weeks ago. so far so good. i just want to ask to those who own v9: 1. how can you turn off the vibration everytime you accidentally press the front screen? it annoys me even the touch screen is locked, it still virantes if you hit the bottons. 2. how can you set your callendar to start on a sunday? because the calendar starts on a monday and im not used to look at it, im always confused. Thanks a lot...

  • @Rick (tm) Sorry... My English is not good. Not all Motorola Fans and people know about Motorola. I following Motorola for more than 7 years; I know Motorola developments. More surprise from Motorola. People judge from last Motorola; like Motorola V3 Razr but they don't know Motorola V3 Razr sold more than 100 million units for 3 years. Motorola make standard future; example: Micro USB Charger, Mini USB Charger, Slim Phone Design (Flip and Candybar), Dual Hinge Concept (can open vertical and horizontal (Motorola MPX 300)). Motorola already begin make 3 Mega Pixel Camera; that's Motorola MS550 since around 2004. Yes... Motorola doesn't has profit but that's not the end of world of innovations. See Motorola V3X Razr, Motorola Razr 2 V8 (500 Mhz Processor - the second faster processor for mobile phone), Motorola Razr 2 V9, Motorola Rokr Z6 (624 Mhz Processor - the fastest processor for mobile phone), Motorola Rizr Z8 (32 Gb external memory - the biggest external storage). Someone prediction, Motorola will build 700 Mhz Processor, 1 Ghz Processor and more. They don't know or they doesn't want know about Motorola. Some critics says Motorola never make good quality camera. Remember: Motorola joint venture with Kodak for make Motorola Kodak Camera Phone / Motorola Zine Lines. So Motorola possible to make best quality camera for mobile phone because Kodak. Motorola possible to make 5 Mega Pixel Camera, 8 Mega Pixel Camera, 12 Mega Pixel Camera and more. For little fact Motorola can make good quality camera is in Motorola Z3, Motorola Razr 2 V8, Motorola Razr 2 V9. Yes, you right. Motorola is like "Silent waters run deep". For me; it's really really woth it for wait. I am using Motorola from Motorola 3688 until now. Now... I am using Motorola Razr 2 V8 with 512 Mb internal memory. Motorola V3X Razr is Best 3GSM Mobile Handset or Device 2006). The fact is Motorola got 4 awards from CNET CES 2008. ~ Motorola Mania ~

  • @ MotoMania I'm sure people & Moto Fans have something pretty exciting to look forward:) Some critics are saying that Moto sticks to 2 meagapixel engine phones without going side by side with the 5 megapixel phones that are in this days:) They don't know that may be it was just a strategy or whatever... I'm sure many will be surprised when they get to know that Moto is about to launch a 5, 8, or even 12 megapixel engine mobile phone soon:) like a saying "Silent waters run deep".. Their (Motorola) silence means there's something in store for all the Moto Lovers out there:) Something really worth the wait:) By the way i'm also from the Razr V3x forum,, coz my phone is like this..:) -Rick (tm)-

  • @vrham Thanks for your comment bro..I think i'll buy moto v9 as u suggested..by the way i very agree with u that the material made is very solid..i like that...and is very coool design...but first i'll make sure that this V9 is already available in Sby...otherwise i'll get it frm Jkt...very very sooon..!

  • @Rick (tm) Speculations about Motorola for sale is come from Carl Icahn. He loser from CEO Motorola election between Ed Zander and Carl Icahn. He planning if he win and to be CEO Motorola election; he want put his CEO Carl Enterprise to be CEO Motorola Mobile Division" and has 3 other people to be strategic CEO Motorola in other division. Before CEO Motorola election last year 2007. He gave speculations to public; he want sale Motorola to Ericsson but Ericsson doesn't agree with him. Carl Icahn fail. And now he gave again speculations about sale Motorola but Greg Brown (CEO Motorola) answer the speculations. Carl Icahn fail again. Twice he try gave speculations of sale Motorola and fail. The shame is GSM Arena believe with that's speculations without research and wait. The key successful of Motorola is under Greg Brown. Motorola has strong portfolio for year 2008 and next. Around Q2,2007, Ed Zander told to public in year 2008 Motorola will get profit. Don't forget; now Motorola has Motorola Zine Lines / Motorola Kodak Camera Phone Lines. Motorola this year 2008 will release Motorola Z12 with 5 Mega Pixel Camera; Motorola Kodak Camera Phone with 8 Mega Pixel Camera and sooner Motorola Kodak Camera Phone with 12 Mega Pixel Camera. For now public just know 4 model Motorola accidently; Motorola SKARVEN / Z12, Motorola X PIXL, Motorola TEXEL and Motorola GENGHIS. Motorola still have 20 until 30 model unknown for year 2008. Around Q2,2008, Motorola will introduce and release Motorola WiMax Mobile Phone. Much more Motorola secret unknown in the public.

  • I forgot to mention that their future model Z-12 has a 5-megapixel engine feature (Kodak)..& many more.. -Rick (tm)-

  • @ RA}q Thanks for the "Copy-Paste Phone Review" you've posted.. what else is new? even the Ericsson had merged with Sony before.. Everything written & read on pages are still speculations unless the company formally announces these reports.. Let's just wait and see what will happen on the next few days, weeks, or months.. At the end of the day, only Motorola could answer all these questions, right?.. Note: Let's wait to their future model named "Z-12" with Kodak as the camera feature carrier.. -Rick (tm)-

  • My Motorola V3 Razr with 8 Mb internal memory can save my message more than 100 message although it shows low memory but still can save my message. I don't think Motorola Razr 2 V9 only can save your message until 100 sms although it shows low memory. Capacity message is depend on your internal memory and external memory.

  • just bought d phone for a week.. nice phone.. n i can save my msg until 100 sms although it shows low memory..

  • to yonz....... hi there i bot red v9 2 weeks ago in senayan city to replace my moto v6 maxx. i like this phone better than v6 maxx, major improvement than previous models but still not perfect though. there are some plus points in v6 maxx that you can't find in v9. for me to choose a phone, it has to be a flip phone and cool model anyway i just use it to phone and sms. V9 material is very good. the camera, mp3 player and video recording is good enough for me. i think you should go for v9 dude since it's a 3G phone you can use video call to see your family and the memory is up to 4gig for your questions: i think v8 n v9 shud have a same battery life but since v9 is 3G phone then the battery will be slightly below v8. yep in v8 they only got the 512mb internal memory and no more slot for expansion.

  • Did you know MOTOROLA is attempting to sell out the mobile phone division? One more good ol' American Company going down the tubes, or bought out by the Chinese. Motorola, SHAME ON YOU!!! You are a giant, keeping the mobile phone division alive financially, means nothing to you. On the other hand, maintaining integrity of the Motorola brand as we all know Motorola to be is extremely valuable. You can absolutely bounce back into the market. Here is your opening statement when one enters motorola.com "Were scientists. Were artists. Most of all, we are a global communications leader, powered by, and driving, seamless mobility. Motorola is revolutionizing broadband, embedded systems and wireless networks bringing cutting-edge technologies into your everyday life, with style" So why are you giving up? why allow another Company to use the prestigious name MOTOROLA. Paul Galvin the founder would be mighty upset at your decision. And for what? just to enhance the already FAT pockets of shareholders. MOOROLA, GET UP AND FIGHT LIKE A MAN!! I'm sure consumers will remain loyal to you and new business will prevail if you maitain the integrity of the brand. Making a merger or aquisition move like the one you're thinking would be the beginning of the end of MOTOROLA!! For example, Daimler/Chrylser, Ford/Jaguar versus BMW. Although MEGA MERGER OFFERS have been suggested, BMW remains ahead of the game because of integrity of the brand. Don't make the mistake!! Readers and motorola users support this comment, we can all make a difference. RMB/NYC

  • hi anyone. i want to buy either two, v8 or v9. my questions: 1. Which one has better batery life? 2. I saw the voting score in the gsmarena, v8 has higher number then v9, can u tell me in what way? 3. I read the review mentioned that v8 comes with 2 edition in memory size, 512mb and 2gb internal memory, but when i check with dealer in Indonesia, they only got one with 512mb. Is the 2gb comes with luxury model (gold plated one)? Actually i also consider to buy SE W910i..it looks good too..and the music must be better i guess coz it walkman mobile..but i prefer V8/V9 coz is more solid and made from metal..by the way is just a phone..no matter how good the sound is..i think is so so..not as good as ipod..so sound doesnt concerned me much actually..as long as it can be very clear when u do the calling and easy to sms..and 3G i also rare to it..Hope someone will reply my questions, and many thanks..

  • i agree to some comments saying that moto has not yet showing its best in respect to cellphone technology..why this is happening? Truth is i very like the style of the new moto comer V8 and V9..but compared to the nokia, SE, and samsung which has the approximately same price, the camera, the screen, and the sound are much better..also the user interface is not much changing may i say to the previuos flip design V3, V6. Come on..Moto has been absent for so long since the last king of flip fone...but now what make me impressed is only the glossy metal made, nothing else...i think SE W910i is much much worth buying..same sleek stylish..but is more good in the user interface, sound, etc..hope moto could soon release better product in above respect..iam waiting..;-)

  • 2 shaz: Moto V9 the message box is not designed as a shared memory eventhough it has an external memory. So it is only capable of keeping 30 messages. So when your inbox is full, then the alert will appear on the screen remind u to erase the privious messages.

  • hi, are u able to view sms on the outside screen without flipping open the phone?

  • This phone in my opinion is the best motorola phone i have ever used, although the message memory is very less.

  • plz if any one can help...i want to know abt the message memory....my inbox has 30 mesjs n it is showing low memory...any place i can store extra mesjs??????

  • Hey. Is the colour of v9 nice? It's like..maroon. Is it nice or just lame?

  • hey guys . dose the blutooth work more than 60 sec like the V3, or it become better and work as long as you want like SE and Nokia ? and yah in V3 the blutooth was slow in finding other phones did that changed ? and is't realy the talking time for 3.5 hours?

  • @ Paul in Stoke on Tre Your request is Motorola's command, due to consistent public demand, Motorola is about to launch their future model with a Kodak Camera feature,, a 5 megapixel engine & a lot, lot more.. it's the Z-12,,,prospect date is in the First Quarter of 2008,,, yeah always, Patz

  • I carn't believe Mototola are still not increasing the spec of their phones. 2 megapixal cameras and the same design as the old razr is not going to sell. Motorola really need to bring out something worth buying or at least capable of competing with Nokia, SonyEricsson and Samsung, these manufacturers have far better camera's with proper camera flashes not the Motorola LED's and much brighter and vibrant colour displays. Sorry Motorola but I think your days are numbered as a mobile phone manufacturer.

  • @ Rick, thx for your reply mate. But i've checked with motorola store here in Indo, they said in V9 here we can not hide the function bar (5 icons for special task)like in v6 maxx. too bad actually, so all the icons are on top of my wallpaper in the home screen. btw i am a big fans of moto phones and been using moto since 90's. motorola rocks!!!!

  • After buying v3 several times it kept breaking down on me after just a few months of usage. I was very hesitant at buying another motorola but i decided to get the v9. I've had it for 4 months now and love it, i have had to buy a couple of back covers for it though as they keep coming off and disappearing. Highly recomend this phone. Only downside is in Australia its a telstra phone and you can't read sms messages on the outside screen =(

  • I don't know if this has been answered already but what is the initial charge?

  • @ mqfy What Networks? Any network service providers' sim card can be utilized for this phone as long as your phone is sim unlocked or in layman's term.."Open Line" When it's open-line, you could bring it over to any part of the world where there is mobilephone technology present, yeah baby,,:-) always, Rick

  • @ VRHAM When you were using "N" phones before then switched to Moto, initially you'll definitely be confused or bewildered where to find this & that,, about your concern, you may go menu > settings > personalize > home screen or wallpaper, so on & so forth.. it's all there, all you have to do is to use your eyes, yeah baby:-) or you may refer to your user's manual or on-line user's manual for tutorials:-) By the way, your wallpapers can be shown up on your display into three modes: tile, center, fit-to-screen.. i think the fit-to-screen was the one you were trying to ask...:-) always, Rick

  • hi in indonesia v9 model.......above the options n main menu botton.....there is a launch bar with 5 icons for special function. anybody know how to hide it? it makes my wallpaper picture smaller. I can't hide it like v6 maxx model. is it work this way? help please? thx

  • hi there, can i hide the function bar in the home screen like in motorola v6 maxx? btw i just bought this phone and this phone really cool.

  • just ask rick,he knows everything.rick ur my hero

  • @missy My nephew just 2 1/2 years, weight 15 kg and height 93 cm. The fact is he don't feel huge and in his hand doesn't look huge. I don't know how small your hand so you feel pretty huge. Or you are dwarf people (small people) so you feel Motorola Razr 2 V9 is pretty huge. Hahaha.... Keypad weird? Hahaha... That's similiar like Motorola V3 Razr, Nokia N76, and more other brand copy flat keypad from Motorola V3 Razr, That's mean normal keypad. The fact is My Motorola Razr 2 V9 for standby can 4 1/2 days until 6 days. Normal use for 3 hours non-stop hear music using Motorola Bluetooth S9, 10 until 20 messages, and 10 minutes surfing internet / 10 minutes calls; just lose 1 bar of 3 battery bars.

  • I saw this at the mall & I think it's pretty huge especially when you flip it open. The keypad looks kinda weird with the spaces & all. However, it does look chic on the outside especially the touch screen. I heard the battery life of this sucks. Any truth to that?

  • Heating? Just warm and that's normal. I use for nearly 4 months. You must know why warm: 1. Because Fast Processor (500 Mhz Processor) 2. Thin No worries... Motorola Battery is secure. Not like other famous brand got battery blow up and burn.

  • awesome design moto pplz but wats with the phone heating up when u charge it or when ur on a long call....what its hot???

  • My computer recognizes the new software when I install the USB Cord, however, it will not install it. It also does not show up on my computer. I don't know how to fix it. Help?

  • i really like this phone :) i hope to have one someday

  • This phone is great, Really terrific quality workmanship on the phone and it is the most user friendly phone i've ever used

  • I wanted to know if you can watch videos on the external or internal screen. Are you capable of putting videos on this phone? Please let me know. AT&T Cingular version And will there be any software updates to perform other task with the touch control buttons. Example, view missed calls and read text.

  • I'm on the Rogers system and I'm paying for Name & Number display, however, when someone phones me, I see only the name, and below it says "incoming voice call" instead of the number being displayed. Has anyone else run across this problem? Or this this a shortcoming of this particular phone?

  • @ Kelly V9 is not that laggy unlike "N" phones.. Batteries lasts quite longer when you adjust the screen's brightness to lowest;) with your bluetooth off, also.. @ Vj Conference call is network dependent my friend.. even if this phones offers it, you may ask your mobile service provider first if they have it:) always, Rick

  • conference call available?

  • can anyone tell me whether v9 is laggy? and how long can e batt last if u're always sms-ing. please reply me cos im going to get the phone today.thanks!

  • change the colour

  • The Canada version for both Fido and Rogers has videocall, and I am wondering why USA doesnt have videocall yet.

  • RAZR2 V9 vs. the N70 Music Edition? It's a tough break, but here are some facts about them: The N70 Music Edition is suited for business and music loving consumers who prefer software over hardware. The NSeries' defining Symbian S60 gives them the advantage of being a powerful and user-friendly software. The RAZR2 V9 on the other hand focuses on style over substance. Its topnotch hardware and stunning design makes it stand out from the crowd without compromising user interface and important features for a phone. Its capabilities can still match any high-end phone out there without the burden of thick phone casings and weight. But it's all up to you.

  • @ Michael Cornish Transferring / backing up your messages from your mobile phone to pc is a "piece of cake" Here's how: when you purchase a phone from an authorized dealer, your phone comes in a complete package with cd's... specifically the "motorola phone tools software"... install it then so on..and so forth... It's easy to use...i don't need to explain them one by one...got it:-) Always, Rick

  • @Rick Thank you for your explanations. I hope no one ask again about this. Or you want explain again to that's person? Hehehe...

  • Is it possible to transfer text messages form a motorola V9 to your computer and save them? If not is there a phone that has the capability to do so?

  • whats the max number of texts that this phone can store?

  • "IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE!" Nope:) are you sure the Razor2 V9 has no videocalling feature?:) it's a tricky design.. normally, maybe consumers are just focusing on the "dual cam" presence of a certain phone but this time i think motorola has come up with a specific design that is a bit "tricky" in the human eye.. Here's how: If you would notice, the Razr-2 V9 has two screens in & out that seem to be of the same sizes?.. now, to perform video calling all you have to do is to close the flip, face to the camera, make a videocall, then Booom! you are now on-board! hehehe see that?:) how tricky, right?;) By the way, since you do have a relative in UK, yup, you may ask one of them to buy one phone for you and have it delivered via FedEx;) always, Rick

  • ====================================== @PTiL where is the 2nd camera of this phone because the 2MP on the front but where is the other one? ==================================== Don't lazy to read before post. Many time and many people already answer the question like you ask.

  • @arvind Where do you life? In the jungle? How many percent Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG produce mobile phone with 2 Mega Pixel Camera than 3 Mega Pixel Camera or 5 Mega Pixel Camera? Around 95%; Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and LG still produce mobile phone with 2 Mega Pixel Camera. Want facts? Look at GSM Arena in every brand coming soon product.

  • where is the 2nd camera of this phone because the 2MP on the front but where is the other one?

  • If you want camera phones, just wait for about 6 more months and you will see Motorola spewing out 5mp and 8mp camera phones supported and supplied by the leader of the imaging world, Kodak.

  • Pls. make something new, same look everytime. Does R & D peoples are making fool to C.E.O, mmake new design, which can attract to masses. Competitors has made 5 MP phone but still motorola was not come out with 2 MP. Give something which can give extraordinary thing.

  • Answering "Me"'s question, the alarm has snooze, just no repeat. Unless you do what someone suggested here that you use the calendar/datebook and set an event and repeat that event and also set an alarm for it. Mind you that repeat options for this is not too flexible either, only daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. Some people things this is good enough, but it certainly doesn't suit my needs. Deenok

  • has anyone tried the 8gb micro sdhc card on the V9 yet?

  • really good phone!

  • vodafone will be releasing this in the uk on the 10th of february.

  • about the comment of that frequency for FYI its a 3G UMTS 2100 GSM Quadband 850 /900 1800/1900 that only means you can use it on North and South america ,EUROPE ,ASIA ,Africa, Canada and Even South Korea and Japan because KOREA and Japan USING UMTS 2100 Or WCDMA frequency they changed their frequency band you can only use your phone in japan and korea if you have a 3G phone that means V9 is capable in that region

  • about the alarm, i tried the datebook, but it does not give repeat options of weekdays only or except Sundays. Come on, who wakes up on their days off at the same time as working days? Users should not have to twist the intended function to achieve simple tasks like morning call alarms. I also found that if you set an individual caller ID ringtone, the same tone is used for both voice calls and sms messages when that contact call/SMS you. Very annoying, since a lot of time you just take out the phone from your pocket when it rings, at the same time opening the flip and answer(looks cool doesn't it! ha ha). But it turned out it's an SMS. Also a 30 second mp3 is not necessary for a message, 'cos you are forced to open the flip, press some buttons to shut it up. The buttons on the outside screen does not accomodate this function.

  • the phone has one camera, when performing a video call, you flip it shut and the external screen is used to see the person on the other end

  • If you have trouble opening the battery cover, apply pressure to the lower part of the cover and push up. Nice phone but biggest fingerprint magnet EVER!

  • I'm planning on getting this phone around Valentine's DAy for my mom... Can anyone tell me the pro's & con's of this device. I would prefer it to be able to use Bluetooth to transfer images, ringtones, and stuff & stereo Bluetooth. As long as it can do that I'm fine. Also, can any MP3 be used as a ringtone and/or text message ringer?

  • American V9's 3G is UMTS frequencies 850/1900MHz, where Europe (def.) and maybe Asia are using UMTS 2100MHz. I recommend NOT to buy this phone until those 3G world phone (cover at least 3 UMTS frequencies, which are 850/1900/2100) become really popular. On the other hand, i really like this Razor2, looks so cool with a distinct attitude.

  • to open the battery cover...just slides the cover up with force..it wont break dont worry

  • Bout the daily alarm, u can set it on the datebook, open event detail, edit it up and on the alarm. i'm still on my old v3i.. anyone wana give me a V9?

Source: This means that the RAZR2 series ain't no pushover. You thought the "stupid" operating system is confusing, I bet you're new to a Motorola phone. Of course, if you're used to another brand for a couple of years or so, at first you will be frustrated at a new brand's settings. It's just it. And to those who say that its features are lacking, remember that Motorola creates fashion phones, not multimedia ones. Its phone philosophy is style over substance, not the other way around where all of the others are focusing on.

  • what kind of video does v9 support?i want to try viewing video on it but cant find any that the mobile recognise...

  • Got this phone as a present a few weeks ago. It only has 1 camera, you use video calling via the outside screen with the flip closed I suppose. I'm on a 2G plan, so no video calling for me yet. Photos are decent enough for snap shots, but you can't zoom in when viewing the pictures (tsk tsk tsk...) and video is really weak. Yes, you can use external memory (Micro SD card, up to 4GB according to the handbook). It's hot-swappable but you need to remove the back cover (but not the battery) to do so. The inside screen is great, but outer screen is comparatively dim and colour is not sharp at all. And you can't customize the outer screen. It by default use the same wallpaper as the inner screen, and it has a huge digital clock right in the middle that blocks virtually everything. With the lack of punch on the outer screen I don't think video calling will be much fun. The menu is nowhere as intuitive as say the Samsung D840 I had. A lot of hunting around is needed for various settings which are all over the place. The thing that bugs me most is that alarms do not allow repeat. If say, you want to set a morning call everyday, then you have to go enable it everyday. Moto Engineers, grab a Samsung and see how it's done. In your hand, the phone is not that well balanced with the flip open. I think the top is too heavy with the two big screens. This makes it a bit difficult to press the bottom row (* 0 #) of keys. This is a good phone that could be much better with a more decent menu and better thought-out options and customization possibilities (please let me hide or move that stupid clock on the outer screen).

  • one camera

  • This is a great phone. 10/10 for styling. Good clear picture and display, easy to use interface. Little big and a magnet for oil and dust...but it's a super shiny phone...pay the price! Can I use this phone in Asia? South Korea, Korea, HongKong? I bought the phone in North America.

  • Andrei, has this phone got two cameras? ie..one for video calling, and a second one for taking pics? Give us some feedback in general on how this phone performs.

  • can i put an external memory into it ?

  • I got my V9 yesterday. I'm having trouble opening the battery cover at the back. Anybody here can share a safe trick to safely open the battery cover?

  • does anyone know what network offers the v9 in the uk? i've only seen the v8, but i want a 3g phone...

  • oh by the way... does this phone have two cameras? I presume it does, coz the spec sheet says it can do video calling. Somebody please advise.

  • PSPA we will see the 2008 mate:P:P:P oh and btw, stop the FU CK ING anti motorola comments

  • award? even samsung got awards too.. so what? yeah right.. there will be another rzr clones cause motorolla only can stand by rzr.. a borrrring clamshell..

  • motorola is the best style cellphone of all. This is very cool, awesome gadgets but i wish that the sound much louder than 7 volume and the megapixels higher than 2 mp like 3.2 or 4 to 5 mp to much attractive. I hope this coming year have improvement and also the all camera cellphone have flash like the nokia................ty

  • =============================================== @PGij just one question for you though regarding the v9.. is the OS of this phone similar/the same as the one from the first razrs? the v3i, v3x etc? or did they improve the OS and fixed the interface a little? thanks =============================================== I agree with you. My suggestion is read from CNET Review about "Motorola Razr 2 V9" or if you can't find the answer what you ask so try to find using search engine. I am not the owner of "Motorola Razr 2 V9" but i try to answer your question. What i know is the interface is different with Motorola V3, V3i, V3X and other before Motorola Razr 2 V9. I think "Motorola Razr 2 V9" has more features in external screen than "Motorola Razr 2 V8". CNET Product summary "Motorola Razr 2 V9". The good: The Motorola Razr2 V9 is a fabulous-looking phone clad in steel and glass. It has HSDPA support plus a 2-megapixel camera, a music player, and good sound quality and battery life. The bad: The Motorola Razr2 V9 has skinny side buttons and a rather flat keypad. We also wished there were one-push access to the music player plus one for the speakerphone. The bottom line: The Motorola Razr2 V9 is a great successor to the first Razr. Despite a few quibbles, it has an eye-catching design, solid performance, and an impressive feature set.

  • the different is,external memory..3g n also the colour.. the rest is same..

  • does it have a vga camera for video calling? this phone heaps better than the V8!! hello memory card!!! still a lil weird lookin but hey its motorolla.

  • good phone and it has all the features I want from a mobile phone and has very stylish design...

  • I love Motorola

  • Features Even when it comes to features, the Razr2s are quite similar with one another. However, there are slight differences that are specific to the different carriers. But first, the basics. The Razr2 V9 comes with an impressive 1,000-entry phone book with room in each entry for six different numbers and two e-mail addresses. You can save the callers to groups, pair them with a photo for caller ID, and assign 1 of 15 polyphonic ringtones. You can also set different vibrating patterns, plus use MP3s as ringtones. Other basic features include a vibrate mode, a calculator, an alarm clock, and a world clock. On the more advanced side, there's also text and multimedia messaging, a speakerphone, a voice recorder, voice command and dialing, instant messaging, e-mail, a wireless Web browser, and full-featured Bluetooth. The Razr2 V9 supports Bluetooth file transfer, plus stereo Bluetooth as well. As a HSDPA phone, the Razr2 V9 is one of the fastest GSM Razrs out there, able to support download speeds of up to 1.8Mbps. Therefore, it's able to support AT&T's broadband services like Cellular Video and AT&T Music. The Cellular Video network gives AT&T users access to streaming video clips from channels like CNN, Comedy Central, and Cartoon Network. AT&T Music, on the other hand, acts as a kind of all-encompassing music portal for streaming music from XM Radio, plus you get access to all the major music subscription services like Napster, Yahoo Music, and even eMusic. The AT&T Music portal also includes a song-identifying service called MusicID, streaming music videos, a community of music lovers called MobiRadio, and the Billboard Music Channel. You can read more about AT&T's video and music services in our reviews. The AT&T Music portal also includes a shortcut to the Razr2 V9's music player. The music player supports MP3s, AACs, and WMAs, plus has a repeat and shuffle mode, a spatial audio setting, and a bass boost setting. As we mentioned, when the music player is activated, the music player controls appear on the bottom row of the external screen. The music player interface is fairly generic, with the typical play/pause and track shuttle controls, and it displays the song title and artist name. Songs are organized by artist, album, genre, or composer. You can also create different playlists for your favorite songs. The Razr2 V9 took impressive photos. The Razr2 V9 also comes with an excellent 2-megapixel camera that takes pictures in four resolutions (1,600x200, 1,280x960, 640x480, 320x240) and three quality settings. Other camera settings include self-timer, a free-memory space indicator, five shutter sounds with a silent option, six lighting options, seven color styles, five exposure settings, and up to 8x zoom. Unfortunately there's no flash, but thankfully there's a night mode for better lowlight shots. Picture quality was very impressive; images were nice and sharp, with accurate lighting. There's also a built-in camcorder with three video quality settings, two video lengths (one for multimedia messages and another for as much memory is available), and similar settings to the still camera. Thankfully, there's that microSD card slot to accommodate all your media files. There are a slew of personalization and customization options with the Razr2 V9. Along with a collection of cool wallpaper and screensavers, you can download more graphics and ringtones from the AT&T site via the MediaNet browser. Games on the phone include Bowling3D, Diner Dash, and demo versions of JewelQuest, Lumines, Midnight Pool, MiniGolfLasVegas, and Scrabble Blast. A few other applications are also included, like MobiTV, My-Cast 5 Weather forecast, and MySpace Mobile. You can purchase and download more games and applications via AT&T's MediaNet as well. Performance We tested the quad-band Motorola Razr2 V9 (GSM 850/900/1800/1900) in San Francisco using AT&T's service. We were very impressed with the overall call quality, with natural sounding voices and little to no static. There was a slight echo and audio could be a little bit better with speakerphone calls, but it wasn't that bad. Callers could hear us loud and clear, though they did say that they hear the occasional hiss and pop. We managed to pair our phone with the BlueAnt Z9 Bluetooth headset, and calls made with the Bluetooth headset sounded pretty good as well. The HSDPA speed on the Razr2 V9 was quite impressive. This was definitely evident in its ability to stream video via AT&T's Cellular Video broadband service. It took us only a few seconds to load up a video, with very little buffering time at the beginning, and no rebuffering at all during the video playback. Video quality was a little blurry, but for a camera phone it's pretty good. Music quality was good, too. The phone's speakers sometimes resulted in a rather tinny and muffled sound, but the music quality was far improved when heard over a headset. The Motorola Razr2 V9 has a rated battery life of 3.6 hours of talk time and 12 days of standby time. Our tested talk time went a little over, at around 4 hours and 59 minutes. According to FCC radiation tests, the Razr2 V9 has a digital SAR rating of 0.32 watts per kilogram.

  • @UipP remember me from before? well, just want to say thank you for constantly answering all the questions here regarding the 2 razrs. it's really appreciated. just a tip though.. just ignore the dude.. you've done a terrific job helping people who plan on purchasing this phone decide whether to buy it or not.. he's not worth your time and effort.. no need to stoop down to his level.. his english is not only bad, it doesn't even make sense.. so why waste time? just one question for you though regarding the v9.. is the OS of this phone similar/the same as the one from the first razrs? the v3i, v3x etc? or did they improve the OS and fixed the interface a little? thanks

Like on Sony Ericsson K850, you go into the browser, go to menu->advanced->connectivity tab->connect using;Rogers(Select)->options->edit-; APN;goam.com username;wapuser1 p/w;wap data compression;on proxy settings;on (HTTP)->edit->proxy servers;HTTP->edit-; username;wapuser p/w;wap proxy address;10.128.1.69 port;80 Anything like that? I want to know if I can actually go on the internet with an imported Motorola, because I'm planning to get the V8 Luxury Edition from UK, and I'm from Canada. I've tried it out on the RAZR MAXX V6, but found no such setting.

  • Motorola has to wake up their idea! Please refine your Synergy OS!!

  • does any know how the battery life for this Motorola RAZR2 V9 is compared to the v8 ?

  • To the REAL USERS who ACTUALLY have this phone, I've one question for you. Can you play around with the WAP settings so that you can use the internet on any network? I know the RAZR MAXX V6 does not have this option, and I hope that the RAZR V8/V9 Luxury Edition does not either. Or does it just automatically find and set up the WAP settings, and is able to go on the internet on the fly?

  • both phones have windows media player 11 synchronization

  • is the v8 does haptics technology also??? and is the v9 have windows media player 11?? which is better?? v8/v9 or Nokia N73 music edition??

  • =============================================== @RK3$ is the v8 and v9 keypads are almost the same??? which is more better?? wat do u think is better?? n73ME or v8/v9?? =============================================== Is similiar keypads between "Motorola Razr 2 V8" and "Motorola Razr 2 V9". Depend you need. Of course "Motorola Razr 2 V8" and "Motorola Razr 2 V9". Why? Because... GSMA Asia Awards WINNERs 2007 Best Mobile Broadband Handset / Device 2007 Motorola MOTORAZR2 V9 Motorola made its new RAZR2 V9 profile even sharper, shaving 2mm from the original RAZR. Greatly enhanced dual screens give consumers the largest-in-its class 2.0 external screen for crisp picture caller ID3 and a 2.2 internal screen with twice the resolution of the original RAZR. With the new ARM 11 processor, processing speed is 10 times faster and with high-speed USB 2.0 it only takes a few seconds to transfer a song. Motorolas innovative CrystalTalk technology automatically adjusts audio to ensure clear calls even in a noisy environment. With up to 2GB of memory, the new RAZR2 V9 has enough storage for approximately 1,000 songs. Music can be downloaded over the air at near-broadband-like wireless data speeds. • wait!!! question!!! if this phone a 3G, can u use the outer lcd to see the other caller or you still have to use the inner lcd of the phone and a mirror just to use 3G call???

  • The v8 is around $380, and the v9 is around $440. Oh, and if you want the price in pesos, just go to www.plemix.com

  • I saw this phone last month and it range from 18,000-19,000, but for next year I think this will go down to 15K-16K. but if u really want a cheaper one. GO TO GREENHILLS!!! hehehehe

  • V8 uses the Linux OS like is on the Rizr Z6 while V9 uses the Synergy OS like that which is on the Razr Maxx v6. Thats main the difference. Both OS's are very similar in layout but the Linux is somehow a bit more refined. DOnt get me wrong... the Synergy OS on the V9 is very very good... forget all those that moan about the OS... all they ever used is probably a v3 from 5 years ago and possibly moto's from before then so they have no idea. If u wanna know how good the OS is just read trhe razr maxx v6 review on this site and u'd see that even the reviewers on GSM Arena really like the OS. Note also that the V9 is even an improved version of what u get on the Razr Maxx v6 so definitely better. I think there's a review on here for the V8 also... if not there's loads all over the internet so do a search in the one and only original google. Or if u like... some other fake azz search engine like Ask.com or whatever...

  • 1.)what is the difference between v8 and v9?? 2.)is the v9 has the multishot functionality?? 3.) Which is more faster?? v8 or v9??

  • External Screen can to be mirror to take a photo for yourself; this features already have since first time "Motorola V3 Razr" in the market around 2004.

  • @UipP yeah. i have read that the major difference of the two is their OS. the answer i was trying to get was the difference between the two OS'. as in what does the new linux OS of the V8 have that the v9 doesnt have, and vice versa. but thanks for replying. really appreciate it. :)

  • I've had the V9 or over two months and it's one of the best phones I ever had. I've always had PDA 02 and Imate, but decided to change. I will never go back. Also , it's easy to remove the Telstra Branding from it. Took me 5min.

  • hmmm, im kinda interested with this phone.. how much is it.

  • this phone has awesome games, and the girl in the mini golf is hot as hell with a smoking ass. you losers should really consider getting lives.

  • This phone is nice, feels solid in your hand. The application seems a little outdated but still ok. Overall very solid piece. Only thing is there is no flash. so night pictures or dim areas make the pictures obsolete.

  • yah .. i like this phone so much .. i had it at at&t version it's great ..

  • Hi I have recently bought the V9 and it is great a very sexy phone, sleek and easy to use, very users friendly lb

  • ================================== @sitcoms ive seen big phone displayed, its too big than the v6 maxx, but it looks good and expensive ================================== You just seen and not compare. I don't think its too big than the Motorola V6 Maxx than Motorola Razr 2 V9. Let's compare: Motorola V6 Maxx Dimensions : 104 x 53 x 15 mm Motorola Razr 2 V9 Dimensions : 103 x 53 x 13.3 mm I don't think expensive because this is fashion phone with great design, great quality stainless steel body, great reception and etc.

  • ive seen big phone displayed, its too big than the v6 maxx, but it looks good and expensive

  • I really like motorola v8. I do like this phone also but could you tell me if it has a flash on the camera?

  • Hi, I was wondering what is the dafault name that the phone stores taken pictures in. In other words, when you take a picture is it called something like "moto0001.jpg" or is it in a date-name format like "11-27-07" ? Can this be changed? and if so is there an option for storing in a date-name format?

  • Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is this fone for free???harharhar!

  • i love this phone. i had the iphone, but way to many glitches. the v9 has really impressed me. best phone bye far i have ever owned. My girlfriend sayes it a really sexy phone.

  • ============================================= @James This phone is okay?, but it does have some flaws such as the key 9 on the phone pad when you go to press it, & that it does not assign to a number from 4 - 9 when you go into the speed diall mode - it comes up as assigned to speed number0???? it only does this once!. 'Motorola' should be very careful when they design their phones or with the software that makes the Phone function properly okay! ============================================= Well... Maybe you un-lucky / you got fail product. That's normal, from 10 product has 1 or 2 product fail. I don't have any problem; not many people have problem like yours.

  • =============================================== @AMG hi every 1 i just wanna know about sound of v9 loud ? clear ? plz fast reply greeting from Egypt =============================================== Yes... Motorola Razr 2 V9 has loud and clear sound.

  • =============================================== @q}46 Flash or LED light is very helpful actually. It was included with the RAZR MaxxV6, and I don't see why it is not included in this next evolution of RAZR. But nonetheless, this phone is still a stand alone phone, just like the MaxxV6. And this phone will also be the second best seller of cellphones in history, seeing that the first RAZR accomplished that, why not the official second one? Also, Xenon flash is the brightest camera flash out there, and is usually available on nearly all cameras, but only available on select phones. LED flash is flash that's found on phones such as the Sony Ericsson W810 and the Motorola RAZR MaxxV6. =============================================== If Flash Light or Xenon Flash is important. Why not all type of the brands (Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG) has "Flash Light" or "Xenon"? And now "Nokia" try to produce "camera phone" without "flash light / xenon flash". "Motorola Kodak Camera Phone" sooner in the market around "Q4,2007" or "Q1,2008" will use "Kodak Innovations and Technology" without using "Flash Light / Xenon Light". Photo result of Motorola Razr 2 V8 / V9 without "flash light" is great than "Sony Ericsson W880" with "flash light". My brother has "Sony Ericsson W880".

  • What a great phone. Easy to use and feels like it is built to last. Have just compared it with the Nokia N76 which feels and looks so cheap. The only reason why I will not be buying one is that it doesn't look very good compared to the V8. I don't like to browny/reddish colour or the keypad design. For that reason I will stick with my V8 and go without a removeable memory card and 3G.

  • dis mobile s an awesome i love dis mobile having wid me

  • Sooner... We don't need "flash light", wasting battery energy. Is that all type of the brands (Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson, LG) has "Flash Light" or "Xenon"? This question for somebody always complain about "Flash Light" and until now no one answer my question. I don't think so all type of brands has "Flash Light". Don't complain without use your brain.

  • F4ps (MaRX)- This phone may feature the ability to close the phone while taking a video call, and continue your conversation in that closed state. And yes, this has only one camera on which that the video calling does perform upon.

  • for me the best fashion fones in the market are moto's razrs, pebls ,slvrs, krzrs samsung's ultra edition 1 and 2 nokia's n76 , n93i, and ol of the slim glass and metal constructed phones they all look catchy ....

  • I love this moto!! It's a good phone.Design is great like every other moto.I very like motorola phones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • still not in india should be aroung 11 k

  • hmm...Nice looking phone...I love Moto's phones..even though some may say the interface on some other Motorola phones are a bit dated, they remain easy to use..and hassle free. I'm just wondering..does this phone have a secondary VGA camera for video calls? Or does it make use of the main camera to do so?

  • P7PL (thiagosats)- I'm all for the K850 bro, but this phone needs respect too. Unlike the K790 (with this, I'm thinking you're in Canada too), this phone can reply/read e-mails and text messages without opening the phone, listen to music without opening the phone, and accept/reject (video) calls without opening the phone. True that the K790 will have a higher quality, but if you think about it, they're both equal in ergonomics and in terms of good features. Motorola obviously doesn't have the grasp of the need of AF/flash or a higher MP camera, but they don't care. Look at this, they're toting video calling on a 2Mp camera, and sending it at that resolution. That's one powerful phone, along with it's CrystalTalk technology.

  • This phone dont have flash.. this price is very high for this phone.. compared with sony ericsson k790, sony is better option for high end phones an save money =]

  • are you able to use a wallpaper that's animated? i min, will it still be animated when used as a wallpaper? coz prev moto phones do not allow it.

  • All the features were excelent. But the problem is battery backup.

  • to any V9 user: What is the video output? is it .MP4 or .3gp?

  • hello...why theres no v9 in malaysia??? sssoo dissappointed.

  • T2%b- The Rogers RAZR2 V9 is locked, so I guess that feature is closed.

  • does this phone only come in that moroon color

  • i was just wondering if this fone can save the messages to the memory card? and if not what the message memory capacity is.

  • Can you put animated Gifs as a wallpaper? I tried the rogers V9 Razr2 and it didn't animate.... it was just a static picture

  • What is the maximum capacity micro sd memory card the Razar2 V9 supports?

  • Can anyone post sample pic taken with V9

  • This "Motorola Razr 2 V9" is worth it to buy.

  • I don't know why "GSM Arena Moderators" so sensitive to me. Before i post about what can you do with outside screen; is that wrong? For "Motorola Razr 2 V9" external screen can: + Read / Send Message. + Play Musics. + Control Musics. + Play Videos. + Control Videos. + Surfing internet, yup... surfing internet. + Change Ring Styles.

  • It's because Nokia thinks everyone's going to press buttons when it's open, and people don't want that. They're just being stupid, because for Nokia, even only just the standard keypad inside looks better then the outside of the phone, so people would like to keep it open. Unlike Motorola, where both the inside and the outside are beautiful, and even the outside you can reply to texts/emails, listen to music and make phone/video calls.

  • why would you need a keypad lock if its a flip phone?

  • Hi to all , kindly can you advice it this Motorola Razr has keypad luck same as Nokia or else .

  • Lovely Phone, welcome back Moto

  • Hope to see soon.... RAZR2 V10 MAXX

  • 1G phones, simply calling phones and MAYBE SMS/text messaging. 2G, you've got your EDGE at 2.5 and they're more clearer systems to support phone calls and fast(er) transmissions of data. 3G, speeds of data transmissions surpass the speed of conventional fiber optic data transmission speeds, the very common right now at 3.6Mbps and soon the set standard for 3.5G, 7.2Mbps. These data transfer rates support internet for free and smooth access of streaming video (and video calls). 3G; UMTS; 14Mbps max 3.5G; HSUPA; 5Mbps max HSDPA; 14.4Mbps max (Evolved) HSPA+; 42Mbps max Pre 4G; UMTS Revision 8 LTE; 100Mbps max HSOPA; 100Mbps+ currently

  • hey peoples, OMG this is soooo awsome i got it yesterday.. LOVES IT,,too much the out side screen it is clear as kystrals . this phone is great BUY IT , you wont be disapointed.. Peace out dude hope you get it.

  • I purchased the phone 2 weeks ago.. Great Phone... Has a great camera also. It is very easy to use! Would reccommend to anyone wanting a slim, stylish phone.

  • Here are your prices in Canada for this phone; 449.99 from Rogers, locked/branded but useable with their video calling service if you've got it earlier in the year (around april). 420 imported. Around 670 for the luxury V9 edition.

  • Pls could anybody tell me what 3G means?

  • Fido has released their 1st 3G phone on Nov 1st the LG tu500 and the V9 is going to be released on Nov 24th. Both Rogers and Fido have 3G service in most major cities but the phones must run on the 850 band and not 900.

  • N7C3 (Matt)- Because it is a fashionably obsolete feature.

  • Why is there NO FM Radio on the RAZR phone range??? Motorola Please answer!

  • P@1n (pjhae)- It's not that it's not cool for you, it's not piping hot with the oldest technologies on the face of the earth for you. jgf6 (Danny)- HSDPA is NOT high speed data packet access. It's High-Speed Downlink Packet Access. Neither has Rogers Wireless taken out the D, because all the phones that they are going to use and bring out in 2008 like this RAZR2 V9, the K850 soon and the HTC TyTNII around Q2-Q3. Why it's not HSPA is because there's something called E-HSPA, Evolved-High-Speed Packet Access, for speeds higher then HSDPA, at 41Mbps. There's also HSUPA which is the lowest, it's peak speed at around 5-6Mbps, the U for Uplink, the HSOPA which speeds peak nearly 100 Mbps, O standing for OFDM or Orthogonal. HSOPA stands very close to XOHM in the US, but is a predominant and higher form of pre-4G technology. Right now, it's infamous for setting itself up in Japan, finishing development/deployment and set-up in 2010. 4XNV (exec)- FIDO has 3G(HSDPA) service now, and I think it might be open to any phone, but the LG770(?) is being released as their first 3G flagship phone, and Rogers Wireless is already advertising that video calling phone on their posters around the city (Toronto). PxBy (sitcoms)- WRONG, not all 3G/HSDPA/UMTS phones support video calling. SE makes a perfect example with that. The W950 is their UMTS/Symbian smartphone, and it has 3G capabilities for internet purposes at 386kbps. BUT YES, this phone supports video calling. It's probably meant just to share, literally, views for opinions and such. I suppose as well, the video calling feature supports closing the flip, or you'd have to have a headset connected (by bluetooth) to the phone to continue your video conversation. PEBU (Dave)- If they deny that Video Calling works with the RAZR2 V9, then why is it so highly advertised all over the place? Like on the very Motorola RAZR2 V8/V9 website, where it says HSDPA (V9 Only), or what about Rogers Wireless in Canada? It's the 2nd (suppose to be the 3rd) video calling phone in Canada's 'arsenal'. PBG3/w0QN (louie)- And I suppose you own a RAZR2 V9, don't take the complete insolent side when you don't even know if the phone, unless your phone is carrier dependant, works with video calling. If not, then the only thing I can tell you is, if you're from you US, looks like Motorola favored the Canadians and gave us, HSDPA video calling and internet supremacy. As well, the phone pictured here is the V9m. Originally, the V9m was the ONLY phone to have the, forgive me for my irresponsibility to remember, red-ish color. If you'd like to bring up why the picture doesn't have a button specific for video calls, then it just proves the V9m does NOT have video calling purposes. That leaves the V9 ONLY to have HSDPA. Also, there's not button that ends video calling, you just use the regular red button for ending calls.

  • Buy in Australia, Not network locked, thats how, american telco's lock phones, we only lock prepaid

  • nice features but it doesnt have a radio aint cool for me...

  • yes is a very good

  • louie, V( does video call, external camera is used for this process, why else would you have a 2inch external screen, had the phone for nearly 2 months and have used video calling several times, also currently have a 4gig micro sd in mine working with no problem. dont listen to dave as he has no idea, he must be confused with v8

  • V9 supports video calling on compatable networks, this phone has been in Aus for about 2 months now (got one for my wife the First day it was available, runs on Linux/java but not smartphone, best one from motorola ever, well made, steal chasis, video calls, great camera, sublime style.

  • V9 Here in Oz, hsdpa is an upgrade og 3g umts, umts is at 384 kb/s hsdpa on v9 is up to 3.6 mb/s, would wait for V9 as v8 also has no card slot

  • Can anyone tell me which OS this phone runs? The Synergy OS which most MOtorola phones run is very bad compared to that of nokia and sony ericsson. I heard the V9 runs on a linux based OS. Is it true?

  • HSPDA is high speed data packet access, basicly its the new form of the EDGE mobile internet that is alot faster and smoother. I saw all the features like video call, and the much smoother mobile TV. Rogers has taken out the D in there so its easier to remember and also they call it "Vision" in the stores.

  • The moto v9 does support video calling with only one camera. That's the poing of a 3G phone. The phone is supposed to be released in Canada November 22nd with the Fido Carrier. If there are people still thinking the phone does not support video calling maybe they're confusing the V8 and V9 versions.

  • i think memory nt realy good it just only some 1GB or 2GB it right

  • Can anyone tell me what is HSPDA ??

  • Ayyah!! the V9 is not yet available here in Philippines. but V8 is already released. I don't want to regret if i buiy this phone that doesn't have HSDPA. But I want a longer battery life. Can anyone tell me what is EDGE in Class 12?? what is the data rate speed of this EDGE?? thanks alot.

  • does dis phone hav fm radio???????

  • Hey guys, u don't need a very expensive phone. Motorola here in Philippines is one of the cheapest mobile phone brand yet has a a rich features phone. Put this in your mind, as long as you can call or text. Its okay now if u can afford to buy phone like this or much more expensive then much better. We don't care if Pim owns a very old crap cheap Nokia 3210 5110 as long as it is working. Do i make sense here?

  • @Dave To tell u honestly, i was absolutely wrong, i've look at the features of the phone in the V9 page, it does video calling. If u think that GSMArena.com is wrong about it better visit this page: and look for the Summary of Features. You'll see this fature of the phone there "Video telephony and See What I See capable"

  • to all friends please tell me the xact address to motorola engeniers so that i can mail them what i want to ask, sorry for my poor english, waiting for ur reply. thanks in advance

  • it video call with the flip closed

  • i've got this fone & it defenetly does video call

  • all 3g phone support video calls, pls use your common sense, and this phone doest need a radio its only a trash aplication, thats why theres an Mp3 music files

  • sorry. but can we take pictures with the phone cover closed? just like some samsung phones E730? Thanks

  • No thanks Dave...

  • thanks bigger pim, but i'm not satisfied, i-emailed motorola customer support and they confirm that V9 cannot support video calls, u want to see the mail, give me ur email add and i will forward it to you

  • Does anyone know how to extend the battery life on this phone??? Can you buy larger capacity batteries?

  • @ all of you questioning if this V9 does video calls. Despite all the explanations, info on the web etc... i gotta say you all must be extremely dim with no common sense. Even on this page... click the specifications and read that... does that not tell u it does Video calls... does the Motorola site not tell you it does video calls?... gosh!!! Just to make it easy for you here's the link to the Motorola site with the info... Does this help???

  • guys try to email motorola engineering support, they confirm that motorola V9 do not support video call, i really like the phone, thats why i'm asking if there is someone who owns one and confirm here that it can do video calls....

  • do u own motorola big time pimpin? as if you know everything. if i know you own a cheap phone.

  • @louie... No offence bro but if u believe what you know... then currently it seems like u don't really know anything about this phone bcos the phone does make video calls and from your own words... you obviously dont know that. Look at it this way... if Motorola are advertising the "See what I see" feature... does that not mean it's able to make video calls so the guy on the other end can see what you see? Why don't you just go on the Motorola site like every normal person and view the specifications of the V9 yourself?... please note i said the "V9" NOT the "V9m". That should sort u out without the need for all this hassle... feels like i'm trying to teach a pair of shoes that 2 + 2 =4... impossible.

  • relax, it's suporting video calls. Then you press video call button and phone starting to dial, you haver to close flip and main camera will be front of you. Now you understand?

  • Well, i believe what i know. We will just see if it really support Video Calling when it was released. See Dave e-mailed motorola and they say it cannot support Video Call. So the guy who said u will be able to use the Video Call using the external camera. I don't think so.. We'll just wait. And here in Philippines. Globe and Smart already support that HSDPA service i'm 101% sure.

  • who says it can support video call, i emailed motorola and they said that it cant support video calls, i want to ask those who own one...if they try video call...

  • @Louie Keep your cool man! Relax! Don't take it personal. It's not like the guy is trying to flame you. Anyway, yes it supports video calling, even without a secondary camera. Just like the Nokia 6233 and 6630, but the caller will only be able to see what you can see, since the camera is facing against you. In the Philippines, 3.5G has not been implemented yet. And since the video call rate there is unusually high, I doubt it that they'd implement it anyway (after 5 years perhaps?). And there are only 3 primary players in the Philipinne mobile providing market: SMART, Globe, and Sun. But here in the US, there are more than 10 companies who operate as mobile providers.

  • HI just wonderin gif anyon ecan help. If I play games on my phone does this use up my battery quicker? I would play for less than an hour in one day and yet would need to charge my battery everyday? Is this normal, or is something wrong with me phone? I have had the phone for less than a week. If this is normal, can I purchase a larger capacity battery? Cheers

  • @Big Pimpin I'm not making stories about this phone. For your information not all 3.5G/HSDPA enabled phone can make Video Calling. Put that in your mind. I hope u get me. and to tell u honestly, i myself wasn't sure if it can or can't. But I just used my common-sence. If it can do the video calling.. where is the secondaray camera?? okay i am wrong. sorry. But don't GET me WRONG. okay?? and never say i am making stories. I'm just SHARING my OPINION.

  • hope this will come out in the philippines soon. Motorola pls reply to this clamor of a lot of fanatics of this fhone

  • Look don have second camera, how to do video call in 3G system?

  • @Louie... Please stop giving out false info and sounding as if u know what ur on about. The V9 CAN DO video calling... IT IS A 3G PHONE DUH!!! In the rest of the world where we use GSM and G.3.5G networks... we can make video calling. In the US i think they have T-Mobile that offers 3G (note a euro company). Then u have also in the US where u use that old CDMA or something weird that u cant and owned by verison or AT&T (note american companies... THAT IS WHY there are 2 different versions of the V9 called: 1) V9... 3.5G/HSDPA for video caling etc AND IT HAS THE VIDEO CALL BUTTON. 2) V9m... CDMA networks NO VIDEO CALLING.

  • Yeah it can't do video calling you know why?? in Motorazr V3xx there's 2 additional button in which u can start and end up a video call, here it does not have.. Too bad. But still i like it. But I'll go for V3xx now.

  • of course it can do video calls if you have a 3G line. it's a HSDPA 3G phone...

  • i have e-mailed motorola they claimed that motorzor 2 v9 cannot or is not capable of doing video calls!!!!!for those who own one is this true????? pls. answer me...

  • Gsmhelpdesk.nl has posted information on four phones, which according to them will be part of the 2008 product line of Motorola. We are rather skeptical about it, but will post this information. All phones are with code-names, which is typical considering there is lots of time until they are released. Motorola SKARVEN is 8-megapixel cameraphone with optical zoom and 2.8 inch, 16 million color display. Similar to the Z8, it uses the kick-slide form-factor but judging from the blurry image, we guess it will also have touch-sensitive buttons. If this information is right, it will be one of the most advanced Motorola phones. advertisment: Motorola TEXEL Motorola GENGHIS Motorola X PIXL is rumored to be the first phone, launched in cooperation with Kodak. A 5-megapixel candybar, it is also targeted as dedicated cameraphone and as rival to the Sony Ericsson K850 and other models from the class. Rumors say it will be available as the Motorola Z12. The third new phone is the Motorola TEXEL which is targeted to the music fans. Similar to the E8, it has multilayered keyboard (nine layers of characters) with morph technology. This means that each key can display (and respectively execute) nine different functions. Motorola GENGHIS is the last phone that the site scooped. It is QWERTY-equipped phone for the masses. Considering the Q-family, it may run on WM6 Standard OS but still this is definitely not sure. According to the site, Motorola will keep the ROKR branding for its music-dedicated phones, but will start other families: ZOOM for advanced cameraphones and MULTI Q for the Q-like devices that have business-oriented functionality

  • An average phone has all the looks and thats where it ends why opera 8 when v8 has opera 8.5 , overweight as well

  • v6 and v9 hav the same features exept for the large external display and touch screen features .....

  • yah why is it that theres no radio?

  • ..wil dis fone b available in a diff. color variant, coz dis color's girly..da color ov da v8 is gud..

  • a suggestion to motorola.take the exact dimensions and design of the v3 use steel instead of aluminum and a huge screen like at the v8 with touch buttons under it, the new interface and you will have a masterpiece.look what porsche is doing with the 911.if a design is just perfect don't change it.but keep changing the inside

  • just for those who are askig if this phone have a camera inside the answer is NO basically if you want to do a video call just do it with the flip closed coz the outside screen is as big as the internal screen

  • If you compare features with nokia 3110 classic they are almost same, then why one should pay so much ?

  • yah why is it that theres no radio?

  • is GSM Arena going to post a review for this Motorola RAZR2 V9 ?

  • It can what?

  • yes The Dude, it can

  • $2599

  • pls gys help me can you play music clips from the external screen thank heaps

  • can any tell me plz is motorola going to give f.m.radio feature in its every handset from next year means 2008

  • it has a nice design, nice features, and good performance. i like very much.

  • Yes, this phone will definately work in Japan. Majority of Motorola phones produce excellent sound quality(including background noice cut to minimum), strong reception & good build quality. Motorola produce "THE BEST" flip phones in the world & their phones do not heat up badly like Nokia phones !!!

  • Motorola... please never stop making phones cos all them Nokia, LG and co would not have anyone to copy anymore and we'll all be stuck with their tasteless phone designs and unstable OS's. They're all copycats... you (Motorola) please just keep on maintaining your originality cos it's well appreciated by us consumers. Good job...btw i got the V8 and it's the bomb!

  • ok this is an advice for motorolla company ...just stop making mobils ..bcoz its all ugly

  • Hi. Is this phone can be used in Japan? For Roaming?

  • i only saw one camera... at the front

  • hey i have a question, how can you use its 3G features without a secondary camera? can you guys explain it to me? coz i will buy one

  • No vga camera on the phone - there is a two mp on the front for high quality video/conferencing and a two mp on the back for general camera use. Unrivalled on that front.

  • Had the V6 Maxx and realised the V9 was the same Synergy software(with a few new tweaks)... coupled with the fact that i only used my 3G like 3%-5% of the whole time i had it and i way the rest of the time on the GSM 900/1800 band to also conserve battery power. Putting all that 2getha it was a no brainer that the V8 was the genuinely better upgrade rather than the V9. I think if u can... to really experience the new Razr 2... u need one with the Linux OS not Synergy... so should do a swap if ur able trust me... u wont regret it. Traded in my v6 for 100 and got the V8 free so was a brilliant deal with Orange UK... flashed it same night and put the OEM software on it so no Orange branding... just gotta get new back cover and it will be 100% Motorola. Also... battery first few days was rather poor and gave me only 12 hours... a week later after draining and re-charge... i get at least 36hours (with 1 hour talktime, 25 texts, 30-40mins vid and MP3 tracks, and some snaps and vids recorded). I think the V8 is a better move really... i know some of you would absolutely luv ur V9 but in all truth... being that i used the V6 Maxx which is no doubt brilliant... i aint missing nothing. V8 is kinda the REAL upgrade for the razr.

  • Hi there does this phone supports 2GB microSD Card, rthank you.

  • Hi there i bought this v9 phone from tlestra im wondering can it fix it up to read text messages from the external screen thanks heaps guys

  • I have the Motorola V9, and it's quite similar to it's predecessors. The main difference is that the software on this phone is a lot faster than the previous motorolas. The external display screen is the same size as the internal screen. You are supposed to be able to read test messages from the outside screen, however if you get this phone from Telstra, the Telstra software will prevent you from being able to do this. Therefore the large screen on the front is only useful for changing the profile, playing MP3's (with the touch sensitive buttons), and viewing the huge clock. The phone only has one camera on the outside, there is no internal VGA camera, but you can make video calls from the front screen. The menu is identical to that of the V6 Maxx and V3xx. One good thing about this phone is that the external display is scratch resistant and the phone itself can take up to 94kg of force whilst open - so it's tough. Overall, this is a nice looking phone, but there is really nothing groundbreaking or different about it except for the touch sensitive buttons on the front display. Mediocre!

  • Hey Check out the talk time. It is half of a typical phone would have... the other issue is the micro-usb connector...it is hard to find one now..

  • in a word vary vary sexy

  • ebay $520~ (australian) for this

  • hi how many Colors Available for this moto?

  • wow, this is just a maxx v6 with a new look and they took away the internal cameral and made it slightly thinner. probably does have a few new features but still almost exactly the same as the RAZR maxx v6 so if u want his phone but dont got enough cash buy the v6

  • hi plz reply me moto is going to release this phone . i love this moto

  • people, a lot are asking about the 2nd VGA at the front. answer them. i think there is no camera at the front. o lokked at it closely in the pics & i cant detect one. anybody knows? im not sure panter and jog.

  • anybody knows if this has a second VGA camera at the front? please answer to those who have this fon already. thaaaaaanks.

  • well, if this fon had autofocus and light features... i will buy this... i better wait for the next fone....

  • One of the great things about the RAZR 2 is that you can read text messages from the external display. Despite this Telstra made the V9 next G capable and in doing this they simply uploaded the exact same software the Maxx V6 has and put it on the V9. With the Telstra version of the V9 you cannot read text messages from the external scren. Therefore the V9 is simply and nicer looking V6 lol.

  • yawnnnnnn another razr phone yawn yawn yawn

  • yep thats right we sell them here in australia, great phone ..very sexy

  • hi guys pls help me i want to download music but cant find the windows player 11 i know its a supid question, thank heaps cheers

  • Hey guys i git this phone today for $680 in sydeny top phone

  • I mostly use Nokia but to be honest Motorola does make most beautiful flippers on the same side i am highly critical of their technology use and marketing

  • the main 2 megapixel camera is used with the flip closed for video calls

  • hey guys, i work for JB Aus, can confirm that we are selling this phone for 729 rrp, or 60 plan.

  • hey guys, im planning to buy this phone. but its not in the market yet here in philippines. i know this is 3g, but do this have a camera at the front for video calling? this is the only thing i want to know. thanks a lot dudes.

  • i think it is most stylest phone of the world . also has good feature .

  • Hey,everybody,bottomline is cphone for incoming & outgoing calls.if you want fm,buy a transsistor radio,batterylife?buy a spare battery.why are you so worried,use your brain.

  • I think JB in Australia has it for $729? Anyone confirm?

  • saw this phone in black looks aswm gross in marown eeeeek.

  • Start Price In australia is$829 not $879, you must work for Fone zone in australia

  • if this phone were used solely on a gsm network without any use of its 3G features..will the battery life be increased? well. is the 3G network connection optional to switch off if only gsm were used. otherwise a 3G connection that is always on without any usage will simply drain the battery life...

  • how is the battery life of this phone compared to that of the motorola razr2 v8. there appears to be many complaints about the battery life of the v8

  • i hope will gt black colour & i hope will faster Available !! bcos i 1 to go to ...... i want to take picture so i hope will faster Available!! at 25/10/07 i wnt to go to .... with my teacher & friends ....... so i hope will faster Available & hope will gt black colour !! hope you can do it !! TRY YOU BEST !!

  • cand apare in romania

  • I work for telstra in Australia and it was released earlier this week. $879RRP.

  • wonder why is the rating is so low for this phone...it deserves way higher then wats its getting...

  • It's called cross matrix screen illumination. Why a screen is so thick, is because of it's light. To use one light for two screens, makes it easier. And with the development of slimmer screens, lights and even touchsensitive screens, Motorola has put the latest technology of 06-07 into the V9. This is common technology for Japan anyway, so why not have Motorola as the flagship to bring us all their goodies.

  • This is one of the best cellphones Motorola had made. Great user interface and different too. Great Motorola A++

  • I liked it a lot until I saw it in real life. It freaking tall! The internal screen should have been way bigger, with it being so small it looks stupid. Should have been 2.4in or 2.5in. It would of fit. Oh, and its weird how you turn it sideways to take pictures, that's different.

  • How the hell they put 2 screens (I mean rly GOOD ones) in such small space?I like tis phone design, but i don't rly like motorola somehow :)

  • This IS actually new as a matter of fact, if you can't notice the difference between a bee and an ant. It's just that people can't get over the idea of it being called a RAZR, having the M insignia and being that it's a flip phone with the buttons in the same place and the camera being in the same place as the V3 RAZR.

  • Come on moto, something new please. We have seen this.

  • The 10 calls record thing can't be right... I have a V9 and currently have 101 Recent Calls showing up on it...

  • this phone is relesed now! $60 or above Telstra Shop.

  • topic on this v9 is it convienient useage when you are working over sea & does it comes with modem which you can connect in laptop and is it useful when you're in Korea and USA

  • this one has a 3G so i prefer this than V8. is there another colour?? like black (in matte)??

  • hi can someone please tell me the best moto on the market at the moment?

  • Anyone know if this phone can work as a modem by using it's 3G speed/data transfer for a laptop? and how?

  • das nice

  • als it does'nt matter who you use as a mobile phone company you are still giving youre hard earned money into telstra's pocket even with youre home phone if you r with optus they pay telstra 90% of the line rental as well as a small portion of the call costs so wether you like it or not you will be telstra's for ever unless you move over seas

  • Stan, This Im sure is a stupid question, but I just wanted to confirm that after exclusive sale periods following release dates - the phone is then available for any network/seller that picks up the option to supply it? Ill be damned if I ever use Telstra ever, ever again.

  • Abhishek i think if you cant read the comparison charts this phone may be a little complicated for youre mind in fact the local toy shop have phone siutable to you

  • Abhishek there is not to much of a difference between these 2 phones the v8 has a couple of different features to the v9 how ever these shouldnt be to much of a problem the v8 is a very good phone with the v9 the v9 has 3h 50 talk time compared to 7 hours 50 with the v8 so battery time is a big difference cheers

  • It seems that the V9 has 3G (HSDPA) and a microSD slot whereas the V8 does not have either :-)

  • To, Abhishek Dude plzz read the specifications properly be4 posting stupid questions. The V9 is 3.5 G enabled while the V8 is not.

  • The Australian Release Date for the Motorola RAZR2 V9 will be September 20th, 2007 and will be exclusive to Telstra for the first couple of weeks. The V9 will come in Dark Pearl Grey with the optional Mahogany Red colour. As for the Motorola RAZR2 V8, that may be exclusive to Optus for the first couple of weeks.

  • to Abhishek the main difference between V8 & V9 is 3G...

  • The Difference between the two is that V9 is a 3G phone and V8 is NOT. Secondly V8 has got internal memory and NO card slot, Where as in V9 u have 45MB internal and a Card Slot! Hope you are clear now!!

  • is this true .every handset of motorola is coming with f.m radio that will launch in year 2008 plz do reply at my email id

  • PLZ ANSWER>> which will have a longer battery life,V8 or V9?? the battery in V9 is of bigger capacity but its talktime n satn by time is shown to be less....plz help...i m confused.

  • they have currently launched V8 in India. bt can ne one tell me the difference between V8 and V9..........

  • I sure wish it would come in black

  • excellent...............................................

  • i lost my manuel could anyone please help,i am lost.

  • got black colour ??? i m not rely like V8 !!

  • i m currently using motorola v6 maxx and quite satisfied. The v9 looks so cool. is it much different with the v6? can anybody help?

  • Any other colors except for this mahogany-like-woman-fitting one?

  • it has launched with at&t in the states, very nice phone, excellent voice clarity and great internet speeds!

  • Heads up to the Aussie readers, this handset will be released exclusivly on the Telstra Next-G network from the end of September!

  • I like FM radio very much to. For instance when you go to a soccer game you can listen to the live radio commentary while you are watching the game and also follow the other games. That is why I always look for cell phone with FM radio.

  • I agree bluetooth is better than infrared. But a infrared port in a mobile is still very useful so I only buy mobiles that have both bluetooth and infrared. but this phone looks cool

  • i love it

  • it's now available for AT&T in the US. The cdma versions are for Sprint and Verizon.

  • i really love this phone!!!can't wait to have it....

  • I got this bad boy yesterday and LOVE it. The design, UI, features, and the build are all very solid. The only thing I'm having trouble with is I don't know what kind of video formats it accepts other than at least 3GP...

  • Moto is kinda drifting with its revolutionary sleek and slim design of the RAZR, in many of its design. but V8 and V9 seems to be the best of all, as far as design is concerned.

  • what do you need infrared for when the phone has bluetooth technology?! Infrared is old and slow. with bluetooth you have so many more options...

  • I Love this phone. This one I wil buy! :o)

  • Honestly, the RAZR is getting really boring. Motorola should start doing something newer. But the functions in this phone is still kinda of attractive.

  • lolz. u didn't read it properly? v8 - no 3g v9 - 3g

  • They should have included infrared and better internal memory. Also calls memory should be more only 10 calls for dialled, received and missed is no good. Otherwise great piece. Hope they come out with a dual sim version.

  • I, personally never listen to FM radio, and I don't know why is that sh*t you all need in every fon, why do you cry for it. You can listen your own music (mp3) and read the news on the net or subscribe to rss, or for example with t-mobile or vodafone you can get news free with an sms package in sms in your selected category. The other lack is wlan. But why that needed if the phone ahs hsdpa (3.6mbit)? It can be faster then your home internet maybe Luis: the 2mp camera is the video calling camera and you can start a video or a normal phonecall on the outer display without opening the flip

  • please my love (company) try to make in flip phone another operating system EX. smartphone windows mobile phone
