Yes got the update on redmi 4 (India) yesterday, performace is quite smooth but not much features added, just the 1st party apps have been updated like calculator etc. The settings app has been redesigned. No Dark Mode, The security patch is still the same. But Im ok with it because of the performance. on miui 10 when I connected it to quick charge there wasn't any identication. But today I connected it to quick charge it shows fast charge on lock screen and there is a icon on status bar...

Do you realise that 3s and 4x were entry level phones from 2016 and 2017, how can you even expect it to perform well as compared to those phones you mentioned like nexus 5 5x etc. those were basically flagships or midrangers

I've been using the phone since May 2017 and it's great when it comes to everyday usage and the durability is just outstanding honestly I lived with it for about 2 years and it without any cases or screen protector and results? after at least a thousand drop I finally managed to break the screen after 2 years and 4 months and I'm upgrading to a one plus however would definitely recommend. A bit slow tho and can lag sometimes. battery obviously lose its charm after 1.5 years but I doubt that any phone's battery wouldn't honestly. Great value for money.

Almost in similar situation. Needed a phone like redmi 4, small yet powerful enough. My Redmi 4 stopped working and some motherboard issues. Checked so many phones and zeroed to redmi 6. But it has a plastic back, back speaker and feels cheap. So returned it and got redmi 6 pro. Bigger and thicker than Redmi 4, but the only best possible option in under 6” and great ppi compared to other phones at this level of price.

With this camera you still get the best utility/price ratio. The size and weight is perfect! I used many Xiaomi and Samsung phones (not flagships of course) - recently Huawei Mate 20 - but I have return to Redmi 4x because of weight and size, very good and loud (!) sound on headphones, FM radio working fine without noise and finally because I still use traditional camera to take holidays photos. I use Redmi 4x with Hovoc-OS 2.9 (Andriod 9) and scrubber_GCameraP2XL - photo experience much much better than custom Xiaomi camera - more than enough for occasional photo.

I've been comparing different phones for the whole day and selected this one due to the battery and small size and it looks like it's still possible to buy it only in India... A 4000mAh battery in a phone of this size was great for users, but was probably a headache for engineers who had little space left to work with. I went back to this phone after using a Redmi Note 5 and enjoyed it's improved ergonomics. It survived being underwater for 1-2 mins but the screen cracked after a drop onto concrete. Unfortunately the masses prefer to buy large heavy tall phones, so the 4X might be the last of an era. Maybe other manufacturers still make phones like this? About the only downside of the phone is that the camera isn't a 4K stabilised one, although it does the job.

i am using Redmi 4X since 2017. mine is 3.00GB RAM, 32GB storage, Octa-core 1.40GHZ update with recent MIUI 10.3.1 and android 7.1.2 NG247H also 4100mah battery after 1 year of usage, this phone was dead about duration of 1 month after experiencing a water penetration during my trail running activity on raining day. it was fully awake then after 1 month putting in the raw rice container. i found this phone is useful to me who has a small hands with its 5" inch screen and 150gm weighted eventhough it is become freezing now very often. i am still looking for a phone that is closer to the size of this as it could fit it my pocket easily and holding in my hand smoothly. what i need is a medium range phone that could my day worthwhile. below are some of my likely: 1- A stable CPU that may very little experiencing jagged, freezed during apps usage. might be about 2.2GHZ 2- a RAM of about 4-6 GB is enough for me. 3- battery life of 4100mah must be maintain. 4- an AMOLED screen is preferable. 5- a camera with mid range performance to this date. Zeis is good to test. 6- an internal storage of minimum 64GB 7- a screen size of 5-6 inch and phone with weigther less than 170gram. i am appreciate if viewers could suggest me phone with close with above suggestions.

Bought this phone in October 2017, still using it with the latest miui 10 operating system. I simply love it. Pros: Small, powerful, great battery life, camera is OK, but could be better. Cons: Occasionally lags after the update, but not annoying. They could've given it better screen resolution.

I have 4GB/64GB storage version as my primary device from Oct 2017 got on diwali festival offer at INR 9,499/- in Chennai, India. I have updated to latest official firmware update. Also I agree there is little battery drain, lags and takes more time to charge after updates. But still I find no good reason and better replacement for this phone thought of buying Redmi 8 and when seeing the specs both looks same. So am waiting to replace with Redmi 9 or 10... lol

Bought from Taobao two years ago and used until now still good ,just the battery not yet perfect so I changed another phone. I bought the highest version (4G,64G ram) ,at first u need to diy to install google services so that can use google things normally, then another problem is the wifi still using 11N not ac,then the youtube quality just can use 1080only,more than that will not play properly; camera just soso ,when I get this travel it almost not taking good pictures at night until I bought a Gimbal to solve the problem. phone called problem have,especially while using whatsapp recording voice msg when travel with any vechnicals ,almost 90% of ppls feedback thats my phone problem,sound is very lag,I'm not sure that's the hardware problem or just sim vendor not good at all... one more thing, play some games are no problem at all, u even can play Pubg with low resolution with no lag. and the battery could be changed easily if it's broken,worth to buy with such a cheap price

Easily the best phone I've had since I started using smartphones seven years back. I bought it when it came out due to the phone being a very good deal for the performance, screen size and mainly the fact the manufacturer is very kind when it comes to software modification. If you somehow don't like MIUI like I do, there are plenty of alternatives and the phone isn't difficult to root - it only takes a while due to privacy and security measures. The camera is...pretty bad, not gonna lie, but what do you expect for a phone at this price? It gets a lot better with the Pixel Camera, although there's still far superior phones for this if you want to take photos often. The performance of the CPU is perfectly serviceable if you're playing something light, it starts to chug when you play something more graphically intensive. The sound is also okay for the fact it is a rather cheap phone - and with some work and a dedicated program, the microphone is simply nice. There isn't much extra to it, other than it tends to record some background hum and noise rather easily, so if you don't have a quiet environment or room and you're recording something, you're gonna have a bad time. The screen is also surprisingly decent - Xiaomi didn't really muck around with it. For being an HD screen only, the performance and responsiveness is very respectable. Overall, if you're looking for a very cheap phone to give to your old dad or something, then yeah this is a good deal, but when you consider Xiaomi releases these yearly? You might want to get them the Redmi 7. 4.5/5 in my opinion.

Same for me, main reason why I bought the 4x. Unfortunately it's not just Xiaomi, no one makes smal screen phones anymore. I would be curious what a 5'' bezel less smartphone would be like. I'm waiting to see if Apple will release a new SE, it's my last hope, plus they actually prove updates.

No security updates for more than half a year. I noticed something was wrong, when users asked Xiaomi to enable the colours in the notification LED for 4x (4a already had colours enabled). Xiaomi's reaction was to switch production and manufacture all new 4x with just white LEDs. What is wrong with someone or a company that would react in that way? I know I won't buy new Xiaomi products and will sell the Xiaomi lights I already own.

Redmi 4X phone is not receiving calls sometimes. This happening often and later I received a SMS notif by mentioning that I have missed calls. The other side person is receiving the message as that my phone is not available.

Worst phone that I ever had. Charger dead after 2months. Phone becomes hot if wifi hot spot is on. Light sensor working but amount of light don t affect to screen light. Only after update stoped freezing screen, i couldn t answer on call. No one update could fix the bug, can t see home wifi only after reboot see it and connect to it. Somethime it connect to other wi fi networks in city but not show it (that is wifi connected). Somethime all night on charger, battery only full 30 % i check on other charger same story. Run away from xiami redmi 4x this us my first and last xiaaomi its miles behind my huawei 9 lite.

The phone is still running like a charm & as fast as it was running during it's launching. I have been using Xiaomi Redmi 4X, 4gb, 32gb and this phone is awesome. I dont have problem with hanging or lagging. Battery is good and can stand for more than 3 hours...I am using global but fast charging charger. I bought since 2015...now 2019 still using, not heavy user, sometimes use for gaming and whatsapp, FB...I also use OPPO find 7 and OPPO A3s and all are good phones. OPPO find 7 i buy since 2014 until now, i use 32GB sd card on all phones....

I have two 4X and one 3S Prime. All of them take awful pictures. You need a lot of light, precise focusing and a lot of luck to get a detailed picture. CURRENTLY I have three Nexus 5, one Nexus 5X, one Pixel, one Lenovo Vibe Shot, one BQ Auaris X5 Plus, one Motorola Moto E5. I have SONY A7 and I do a lot of photography for 13 years. So, please, don't tell me I'm wrong!

the battery life is better than the one of the SAMSUNG j7 PRO and it has universal infrared remote control too , it has all features but no NFC. payement by finger print is possible.the screen is low resolution but not important because of the size of screen , lot of people thing that a full hd screen on 5inch phones is better but NOT , it is only if you have a TV

yes you're right. I think MIUI10 on redmi 4x not optimized for 2GB model. I've tried it and feel a bit laggy. Then I install custom ROM lineage os and get better. So if you have 2gb version just stay at the latest MIUI9 or unlock your bootloader to install twrp and custom rom. But, do it at your own risk.

MIUI 10 make my Redmi 4X become more faster than MIUI 9. Battery not draining if you ON the idle mode when not use the phone, it will disable mobile data and clear cache. I am using the 3/32 specs.

The phone was surprisingly good with MIUI8 installed. Swift and the battery wasn't half-bad, either. After updating to MIUI9, however, I became so disgusted with my resulting battery life that I had to flash a custom ROM on it. MIUI10 also isn't exactly worth it if you've rooted the device like me. But overall a very solid budget phone.

I am using 16/2 GB version which is really a good budget smartphone in only 99$. Apart from this.. for PUBG lover it's also a great choice in this price range.

It is one of the best phones you can get in its price - Fast, durable and beautifull. I decided to.write this review after I accidentaly droped it in the toilet. It startrd reatartding, like a boot loop, but I menaged to remove backcase and battery in less than 5 minutes. dried it for 2 days, cleaned it and now guess what, I am writiing this from the phone. Its a problem with the download manager. The download manager is preventing the new updates from installing. It happened to my phone too. I just updated the download manager in system apps updater and now every update installs fine.

Completed a year of using this. Still runs 2 days on normal use. One and a half under heavy use. Gets regular updates, too. Not of the OS, but just security patches and MIUI, which I am happy with. If you don't need to showboat, this is all the phone one would ever need. Its successor, the Redmi 5 has only become larger, heavier and gets a smaller battery. The Redmi 6 doesn't even use an SD processor. All Xiaomi needed to do update this phone is slightly trim the top and bottom bezels, retain this 5-inch 16:9 screen, put in the latest SD 4xx or 6xx processor, put in USB C, perhaps enable it with FHD and call it a Redmi 7. I came to MIUI after 3 years of plain Android (JellyBean to Lollipop). And after one year of MIUI in this, I tried Android Oreo on a Sony flagship. Though I loved the hardware, I found plain Android tiresome after MIUI. I returned the Sony and am happy to be back to the Redmi 4. I wish small screens -- 4.3 to 5-inch (16:9) notchless phones were still made.

You can install MIUI 10 by simply downloading Beta ROM from official site of Xiaomi .....and then go to updater and touch upper right corner with three dots ....then select choose update package .....then select the downloaded ROM .... That's it..

It DOES provide quick charging, the review says wrong (that it doesn't have quick charge) and the specification doesn't mention it too. Just the original charger is too weak. Use a more powerful charger and you will get quick charging (the symbol appears on the screen and charging time is rally faster that with original included charger).

It's a good phone, i have used item for 9 month's and it still working well, the problem is, itu is easy to scratch in the black version, the battery life is good, the speaker is also working well, but the charging time is taking so long when it charged in powered on, when it's powered off, the charging goes to normal

Fn performance is good but heating problem is very cautious as it get heated within half an hour of use while charge also it get heated, talking about camera its not good at all very poor camera, talking about o/s xiamio doesn't provided yet oreo version for this device in this range (price) where as other smartphone co are providing it and talking about its all miui update and nothing much improvement performance but talking about feature its have lots of feature which user only get in redmi devices. It notifications light is only blew in white color where as other cheap phone of xiamio co provided different notification light for differnt things.

u can use it in miui rom but u have to unlock the bootloder or root to enable 'persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1' command by build prop app after enabling this command 'camera2 api is' enabled . stock miui camera will not work and use can install google camera apk.

Used it for a month. I updated it to nougat. Few days passed. I charged it through the night and I as I powered it on it got stuck on powered by Android and frequently rebooted. Bad side: laggs yet it has 3gig ram and 32rom even with games like dream league soccer. The micro phone quality is low and low quality 13mp camera. Good side: battery is awesome and it has fast fingerprint scanner.

I agree that the camera is terrible on redmi 4x. It should be a successor of previous excellent model redmi 3s prime but Xiaomi company made very very low quality device. Some disadvantages in comparation with redmi 3s prime are: 1. Very bad camera quality, with pictures like made without any autofocus and without any sharpness although i setup it on high adjustments-both picture quality and sharpness 2. Although redmi 4x has tehnical possibilities for rgb colour notification Xiaomi company limited that option with some software malfunctions so we can use only white notification 3.Very poor sound quality in microfone. I have realy problem to hear other persons in some loudly environment, and in the places where the signal is not so good. That kind of problem i did not have with redmi 3s. 4. Auto level of display brightness adjustment do not work although you can set up it in redmi 4x softver . I have had both phones redmi 4x and redmi 3s prime and conclusion after all is: Xiaomi Redmi 4x is only halfproduct and that Xiaomi company only made step backward with this device. I have to mention that i have never had a heating problems with both devices and the batery backup is very good, at least the day and half or two days with moderate use.

6 months usage of this phone. Performance is good especially with miui 9.5 well optimized . Only large apps like Twitter and snapchat is laggy and slow due to sd435 being slow with low clock speed 1.4ghz. Camera is basically useless. It's OK for normal usage but no match to the competition. Feel like really low quality sensor. High noise and focus hunting issues I struggle with every day. Screen is solid. Drop many times no crack. Thumbs up for that. And last the major problem with this phone is the heating issue. Most of the time can't keep it in the pocket its heat a lot when use internet... It's still a good phone to buy last year. Those who are planning to buy the redmi 4 (4x) I highly recommend to go with the redmi 5. It's much better for a slightly more money. Snapdragon 450 is a lot cooler and better for gaming.

It does heat up when mobile data is turn on. Gaming more than 10 minutes will heat up the phone really hot. Normal usage without internet connection is OK no heating .

If you need good camera avoid this phone. It is the worst 13mpx camera i have ever seen in my life. The same for front 5mpx camera. Xiaomi declared that both cameras have samsung sensor but i do not believe about that fact. Everything is good but cameras are terrible. Try to find old models like redmi 3s prime or go with samsung j5 2017 if you are looking for good cameras, if you not than redmi 4x is good choice.

Red Mi4 (SO MANY PROBLEMS NOT JUST ONE) Specially PATHETIC EXPERIENCE AFTER UPDATE to MIUI 9 #Heating Problem:- Heating starts while 4 mins onwards usage, this is totally abnormal and unlike High usage,it just starts heating abruptly while *a call in progress *data usage *Music player *charging also #Slowness in app responses:- Another problem is the responses of multiple apps are extremely slow and sluggish performance is experienced continuously. Example: opening Google calendar takes forever (sync also takes huge time), the events and reminders never populate as they normally do in other Redmi phones. User has to wait endlessly and has to keep tweak data enabling, shutting down app and shutting down mobile still no assurance whether it comes back normal. #Mobile charging errors:- It randomly shows not charging or annoying beeps of charging-not-charging at any time. Sometimes I plug it in for charging at night and in the morning it shows same charge as was found last night (no progress), extremely unreliable charging problems. #GPS problem everyday: GPS never ever works fine, it gets disturbed for reasons I don't know about and everytime Google maps is to be used, it has to be calibrated. I have stopped using maps now because i have end up going to wrong places due to wrong directions by maps. I have earlier used Redmi Note3, it was just fine performance wise, then I thought of buying Mi4 anticipating better performance but this Mi4 is total waste of money. I will never buy or recommend Xiomi to anyone

True. I have an old Xperia E3 as a backup phone. It also has a 2300 mAh battery, and despite being over 3 years old, still gives me better battery life than my 2 month old Redmi 4X! Incredibly poor for a 4100 mAh phone. MIUI is a battery hog, gonna try flashing a custom ROM and see what happens.

Only 80h endurance rating on a 4100mAh battery, that's some bad SW/HW optimization, my Xperia Z3 Compact on a 2300mAh battery has 101h of endurance rating... Take a look at Lenovo P2, now that's a monster... True, it has a 5000+ mAh battery but nevertheless, this Xiaomi on a screen so small should easily have more than 100h endurance rating...

I would like that it is true but you are wrong. Only redmi note 4x has a 3 different types of sensors sony, samsung and omnivision and redmi 4x has only one sensor samsung sensor. Even that fact that my redmi 4x has samsung sensor the picture quality is so bad that i do not know what to do. When you transfer pictures on full hd computer monitor pictures are without any sharpness and pretty blurred. It was the same with miui 8 and now with miui 9. I have tried even to change the stock xiaomi camera aplication for the google and nokia 8 one but the bad picture quality remained the same. I had also redmi 3s prime 3/32 also with the same samsung sensor but the pictures made with this device were excellent. I shall probably sell this crap phone and shall try to find second hand redmi 3s once again or mi 4. I have no other solution.

Please note that xiaomi is selling redmi 4/4x with three different types(makes) of camera sensors 1)sony- best quality 2)samsung- good quality 3)omni vision- average to bad quality Earlier units(mostly review units were packed with sony sensors...after they started using samsung make sensors...then omni vision which is really bad.so its possible those who unknowingly bought redmi 4 with onmi vision sensor might experience bad picture quality. source-miui forum currently i have redmi 5a(again 13mp) and sensor make is 'samsung'

You are wrong. The same price range was also redmi 3s which had excellent camera quality. I had both devices redmi 4x and redmi 3s and redmi 4x has a camera quality like cameras with 3mpx. This is the worst camera quality with 13mpx i have ever seen. If you seerch device with nice camera avoid this crap and try to find second hand redmi 3s. If you have a little more money go for mi 5 or mi 5s.

Redmi 4x is a great phone in any aspects . I can say it's the best cheap phone of all time . It has all the thing one wants from a phone . Rear camera is good in photo and video . Sound quality is great and volume is high enough . Battery performance is great too and it can last for 2 days in heavy work . Display is good too and the phone is fast and no laggy . I had three phones before N95 8gb , Lumia 520 and LG G3 and I can say it's the best phone i have ever had . The only problem is u can not install apps on SD card .

I've had this phone for 3 months now...it's absolutely incredible. I haven't been able to drain the battery yet...lowest I've had it go was 20%. On an average day, I'll get it barely below 50%. I spent 5 hours on a phone call...and that too my battery from 95% to 70%. I've never had another phone that has come close to lasting that long. Sure there are faster phones with better displays. When you consider that 720p displays consume much less power and are practically the same in terms of usability ( I personally can't see the difference on my Redmi 4X vs my gf's 1080p device unless I really try) . This processor in Redmi 4X has all the technology and that went into Snapdragon that is in the Note but is clocked lower thus it is cooler . And the form factor is perfect . I'd buy it again if given the choice.

|'m using 4x 4G,64G version for 4 months and here's my opinion: Pros; -platform size is ok for me ,I don't like note4x ,its too big. -screen is nice, brightness is what I want it coz it could be turn very dark or bright enough through sunlight. -first time I use id touch from back,I had a little bit complain coz I easily touch it while I take the phone out from backpack,but after get used to it that's not a problem,and found out thats very smooth to open my phone with just one id touch (compare with my samsung tablet with touch id open,tablet u still need to push any button to make the screen open so that could use touch id to unlock it,it's suck) -battery life is long ，even I play games,I no need to worried abt charging within one day,few monthes until now I still didn't drop below 20% of battery,before that phone I already changed few mobiles and all drops battery so fast and usually after half a year I need to recharged half a day. -games running smooth;360 video also nice -sound is loud more than enough -battery charging is fast -coz thats 4G,64G verion is more than enough to use even I still didn't install any memory card coz there is so many rubbish need to backup for my old cards. -camera is fun it could detect years of ppl while use front camera with beauty function,also could use voice shutter -bluetooth with my stereo true wireless speaker is very nice Cons: - google services; this one I bought from Taobao official webside coz only they had the 64Gversion and rose red color ,but the main problems no any google things so I need to manually download google servies and other things, I still have some problems which is can't use mic to search within google map,and sometimes couldn't get inside google play, -youtube only can see 720p -camera is high resolution but still not that good when indoor photo shooting -speaker is loud but the volume control just strange,for example 1 to 10 volume,when u turn from 1 to 6 is still so low which could not hear it clearly;but while u turn to 7,it just like it jumps to 10 that big! -too much useless pre installed software which is can't remove it (unless you use international rom) -phone body is pretty and smooth but not solid and very slippery! I'm using a cheap 4x scilion cover but after few weeks its already get so many dust inside between cover right,but after I remove and cleaning the dust I found out those mini dust already makes my phone coner had stratch! (that means this phone back cover made in plastic)

Heating issues are caused on different situations. You would have to tell us what are you doing when it regularly gets overheated. The phone on average use should not get frequently overheated, even so try this suggestions. Use thin cases, or definitely remove them specially if you are running heavy apps like games or video playback,, also close running applications if you are not using them. Maybe you are leaving a game running in the background. Look in the MIUI forum for tutorials to save battery and reduce heating they will surely suggest to disable apps autostarting when boot up, etc.

Been using this phone for a few months, here my small review. It's pretty good for its price. It's more than smooth for average user. I didn't really liked MIUI(buggy), so I'm using a semi-stock Android Rom 7.2 Design: It's a bit slippery, you might need a cover, Its also hard to find a good tempered glass that fit well, look for fullcover 2.5 or curved glasses(this last one is more expensive) Camera: Not so good but average. Battery life: A bit disappointed, this phone tends to drain a bit much battery while its IDLE but it's enough for a day and a bit more maybe. But if you are someone that uses your phone not much you might end disappointed as it drains battery on IDLE.. This is the only thing that bothered me from this phone, alot of mAh but the snapdragon 435 isn't very efficient. Screen: Not very sensitive but you'll get used to it. Everything else is Approved by me, what else can you expect from a $100 phone? I recommend it. Although if you want a excellent battery life and better specs get the Note 4 or Note 4X It cost a bit more ofcourse.

4100 Mah just on papers. Compared this phone with Samsung J5 2016 & Nubia Z11 mini S. Nubia and Samsung takes about 3 hours to charge fully. This Redmi 4 crap takes abt 4+ hours to charge fully. Battery back up Samsung and Nubia Z11 mini S 2 to 2.5 days. Redmi 4 about 2.5 to 2.7 days. Miui 8.5.1.0 is a nightly update. Its not a normal update. So xiaomi releases such updates only to a limited number of users to test their prototype. Even I got this update and it is based on nougat but I am not facing any issues.

hi, im using a redmi 4x 3gb 32gb official malaysia set. i found several problems that i think (well, for a rm500 phone u can't expect much). but, i'll just highlighted it anyway: 1. for a 5" phone its quite a heavy phone at 150g maybe due to its metal body..i don't know.. 2. it just take way too long to charge. well my other phone also use the aukey charger and cable but doesn't take long like this model.. 3. camera. outdoor. need to take a reading on a tank but it doesn't show the meter reading at all..my other 2 phone (old one and an office phone) are ok.. 4. sound. need to turn the volume higher than normally i do on other phones. 5. brightness. well i think the auto function doesn't perform very well to my needs. outdoors is not so for this phone. well, i think that's all for now. i'll get back if i have another issue. but for a rm500 phone, u'll never get any phone better than this (i mean the specs, the build quality, yada2 other sites are saying, bla2, etc..) thanks.

may be MIUI rom auto-update. if you turn on google play automatic update, the apps update frequency is very very high. when app installing, the mobilephone will no response until completed; or take back for service maintenance store, 1 year warranty, will replace you a new one, or at least a new motherboard. My company iphone 6s+ 100s maintenace records are over 50%, hang, lag, no response, no signal, broken monitor, can't switch on.

Its a nightly update dude...nightly updates are pushed to random users...and yes the miui version has actually been downgraded from 8.5.2.0 to 8.5.1.0 but it comes with Android 7.1.2 nougat with august security patch...wait for stable update...it can take upto 2 weeks

I bought it month ago. So far everything is working perfectly, no problems so far. I have the black, 3gb RAM version. Sound is good... but for some reason Facebook videos are not as load as youtube or phone itself, anyways, probably thats the app not the phone. Call quality is very good. Despite few reviews I red before I bought it. Sound is load and clear, no problems on neither side of the call.(caller or call receiver) Camera (photos) is very good (both second and first camera). Even if I dont hold it very still, photos are still fine. Camera (filming). Hard to say yet. I have used it only once, but it was fine. Finger print sensor. GREAT, works every time. Its my first phone with the finger print sensor, I thought that Im not going to use it but I was wrong. Its great, the easiest way to unlock your phone. Design - beautiful, looks much more expensive then it actually is, I love the metal body. Little problem - if its hot outside and your fingers get sweaty then in the light you can see the trace that your wet little fingers left. Performance - Very good. No problems so far, no lagging, no heating. I have not played a lot of games on it. I downloaded only one game with high system requirements and it was working smoothly, it took some time to open it (~40 seconds ) but after that it worked fine. Screen - good. You can see everything. If its turned on the brightest then you can see everything even in the sunlight. Battery - I was a little disappointed about the battery. Dont get me wrong, its good, but almost all phones have good battery when they are new... If Im not using it very actively, the battery lasts for about 3 full days, if Im using it more then its about 2 days. Still good results, but I thought that its better then that. For example, I charged it up to 90% about 24 hours ago, now its at 47%, but I have not used it a lot, only few calls and about 15 min internet browsing. Charging - slow. 1% in 1,5 minutes, so its about 150 minutes to charge it from 0 to 100. Overall - for its price, its GREAT phone. Thats my experience so far. ;) I hope it helped. Hello For me the most important thing in smarthphone is camera. I wonder if Xiaomi 4X with its 13 Mpx sensor takes better photos than my old LG L90 with 8 Mpx sensor? This old LG makes very good and sharp photos with a lot details as far as landscapes are concerned (I don't care that much about photos from short range) in good light conditions. This phone has a major problem if you plan on using the fingerprint reader. It gets "activated" by anything pressing on it too easily, which means the phone gets locked fast and then you have to use the password, which defeats the purpose of using a fingerprint reader. Hopefully they will fix this somehow in the MIUI 9 update. Nexus 6p seems to put in place a few seconds before a wrong press and the next one, which could be a solution. The Redmi 4x registers all presses immediately, making it possible to lock the phone much easier.

I'm using 4x now. It all started last year when I bought a Redmi 3 (2-16) just saying something like "hey let's try this joke of a phone" because of the low price. I was attracted at first from the huge battery. Well, I loved that Redmi. Unfortunately after less than an year it fell in the water (main microphone almost gone) and after months of "surviving" it finally broke the screen (my bad again). That is still alive and I can use it like a backup phone, but it was time to move and decided to finally get the 4x on a bargain sell (115€ free shipping to italy). This time I got the fingerprint thing and 3-32 ram/rom. Well I don't know how to tell that these phones are literally BETTER than any other phones that come from well known android phone companies. This is probably better that 300$ phones that come from Korea and USA. And the MIUI software, well it's maybe not #1 but it kicks so many asses. I'm browsing and playing and stressing it but never let me down an evening in battery life. The only things that this phone can't do are night photos and every kind of high end camera stuffs. But you know you're paying this a bargain. I'm definitely telling to buy this phone unless you're searching upper and high end specs, especially in the camera department.

Hello! I wanted to provide my honest review. First little background. Over years i used Xperias. Can't remember first one but then it was Xperia Ray, then Xparia Z and Z5. I also had access (girlfriend) to Galaxy S6. My point is i do know how premium phone "feel" like. I broke my phone (joy of my work) and this time i told my self i am not gonna buy premium phone because i don't have money and honestly to me it appear that at this point even midrange phones are enough for what i need (i don't play games on my phone ever). I was reading a lot and my decision went on at that time totally unknown Redmi 4x. I bought 2gb ram, 16GB version. Lo and behold now 3 month later i am still IMPRESSED with phone each and every day. First of all MIUI. Wow just wow. Everything one need is there. And degree of customization is just remarkable. Truly it is. I am finding it better then Xperia version. Plus there are mighty tools, security software etc. Camera is ABSOLUTELY amazing for that price. Fingerprint scanner - i don't know what people are talking about when they say somehting is woinky or "moving" behind fingerprint scanner. I guess they have clones or something. Btw i bought 3gb ram and 32gb for my girlfriend and there everything is ok with scanner as well. Screen is on par with everything else i saw until now. It is not Z5 screen but it is decent and more then you can ask for. Build quality is actually great and whole phone feels premium. I think they only spared on lack of illuminated buttons and that's it. Overall i am VERY and honestly impressed with what this phone is, how it works and it feel great 3 month later. Did i said my battery is lasting almost 4 days ?!?!!!! But remember i don't play games just using it for daily emails, a lot of talking and photo taking. Even though on any of my xperia phones, Xperia Z5 and Z battery never lasted more then day and something little. On Redmi 4x it is just remarkable. For midrange i think this phone does have everything above midrange and i highly recommend it to everyone. Just buy original.

It's a hybrid sim slot but you can add an extra hardware called 'hybrid sim slot adapter' really cheap. But you would have to use a back cover to prevent it from breaking. It's not really practical but it is whatit is if you want that dual sim along with SD card.

You are wrong redmi 4x has the upper hand over redmi 3s because of it's design, and compact refinement. Like slimmer hardware, 2.5D glass. Redmi 4x has Snapdragon 435 which is better than redmi 3s Snapdragon 430. Battery is also better on redmi 4x. Better screen color rendetion. Redmi 3s has greenish tint to it. You have absolutely no idea about technologies :)

The best solution is redmi 3s prime. The redmi 4x is peace of crap like the redmi 4a. Do not buy xiaomi phones with the marks x,c and a. It means that the devices with that letters are weaker than basic model as redmi 3 and redmi 4. I have redmi 4x model with 3/32 and camera, sound and speaker are not so good as in my previous device redmi 3s prime. Additionaly redmi 4x has no fast charger and full dual sim option, only dual sim stand by, no glass protection.Everything is poor on 4x.

Redmi 4x is better than Redmi 4a from my review. Though Redmi4x has no LTE band 20(800). Redmi 4x has better battery capacity @4100Ah compared to 3120Ah of Redmi 4a. Also the glass protection of Redmi 4x is super Gorilla corning. Redmi 4x has more memory options 2G RAM with 16G ROM, 3G RAM with 32G ROM and 4G RAM with 64 G ROM, while Redmi 4a has 2G RAM with 16G ROM.

Hi guys, I have 4X and took some pictures - you may look at it here: Camera is definitely good for its price, just recommend to set it on high quality pictures, and increase in sharpness, saturation and contrast a little bit. I took most of the pictures more times on different settings and left several spoiled shots so that you could compare. Generally satisfied with the camera for such a cheep phone yet it has its weaknesses .- panorama mode isn't too impressive to mention one. Surprisingly, it's relatively good in low light conditions: you may check its results via GSM Arena photo comparison tool - to other cheap phones - 4X usually fares better. (all photos taken in hand without any additional processing)

No doubt, nokia used to be the 'king' of vintage smartphones but it was not long ago when samsung took over with its android range of smartphones, which consequently led to the decline of nokia. Nokia was still making phones from the same durable materials we all loved once based on sybmian and windows but people got more inclined towards android for it's customisation and vast features regardless of the durability. So in these day and age n Redmi phones has been in the market for quite some time now while nokia just got into the 'modern' android game, this itself put redmi one step forward nokia because redmi has a tremendous legacy of future benefits like firmware updates which most companies do not provide. Also i feel redmi has better software UI and tweaks and better camera and hardware. The nokia ones are yet to be polished. So my suggestion would be to go with redmi and let nokia sit for awhile and let it evolve and maybe switch over to nokia later because there are better phones than nokia across all price segments. But if you are somewhat of a brand concerned guy than go with nokia but i highly doubt it would give you that 'advantage' over redmi!

No corning gorilla or dragontrail. Just a regular lcd panel. But it is recommended to put a tempered glass to protect against scratches but it's doubtful if you drop your phone alot because it will crack if you do so without corning gorilla glass. Good luck!

Redmi 3s is better. Better screen quality, redmi 4x has yellowish tint display. Better camera, redmi 4x doesn't capture much detail like 3s. Things redmi 4x is better are 2.5D glass and better grip because of the refinement of it's back and Snapdragon 435 although not drastically different from Snapdragon 430. I would suggest redmi 3s over redmi 4x. Because most budget users are inclined towards multimedia and camera, so redmi 3s provides both better multimedia with it's better display and better camera. Also not to forget, redmi 3s doesn't lag or overheat while playing games.

Oddly the Redmi 4A seems to have the mentioned fast charging but Redmi 4 X does not! I used to have a 4X until it got stolen i took up to 3 hours to charge while the 4A with a slightly smaller battery (4100mAh vs. 3120) charges fully in approx. 1 hour 30 minutes. does not make sense since the difference is only 980mAh.

I actually have one issue with the phone connected to my car's Bluetooth speaker especially when the WIFI is on at the same time, the person I called sound robotic and chappy so I turned the WIFI off. It seems like the WIFI is interfering the Bluetooth signal.

- As what most people say below, yes it overheats during charging. But and then I found out that I only have to put it on a hard material (like wood) while charging so it won't overheat! (I used to charge my phone on bed, which is soft) - There is something wrong with the floating notification. Sometimes it shows, sometimes it doesn't, and sometimes it only shows for like 0,3 seconds. And yes I have made a setting for that, but still... - The camera isn't that good. It's good, but it's not that good - I have like 12 new messages on Whatsapp but the notification only shows I have 1. The same thing goes with Line Messenger. - The screen is way too sensitive just like my feelings - 3GB RAM makes my phone works faster. Love it
