  • Mom bought this phone when it fist came out for about $500. Served her well for a few years and she passed it to me. It was comparable o my t100 at that time and I couldn't stop using this phone. It's amazing what did little phone could do. Oh well, the bat died and most of the stores do not sell it anymore. Or else I would still be using it coz the reception is good and clear. For me, I feel tat motorola brand is good though I am a samsung user.

  • this phone is unbelievable...i just got this phone from my local store and they ran me a really good deal on this thing...they gave me the phone for free with a 39.99/month 2 year contract...it has pretty good reception...excellent reception with the antenna up...the screeen is awesome too the colors are amazingly nice...i definetlys recommended this phone.

  • A fantastic little phone that I am only changing after 6 years as I want more memory! To stop phone answering on opening flip go to settings / In-call setup /answer options / Open to answer. Turn this to off.

  • hello...i purchased the V66 last october of 04, and i never tried to download ring tones. turns out, you cant. I found a wonderful website in which you can type in your own polyphonic tones...but i cant figure out how to use that feature on my phone, so if anyone has some information on that please let me know. thanks.

  • Ive had two of these phones and they suck I spent over an hour talking to them trying to figure out if it had something to do with my sims card. I think their is something wrong with the set and they keep sending me used phones but if you do get this phone new or used don't expect it to last over a moth if even a month. Also I wouldn't recomend getting another motorola period

  • It's a good phone, I enjoy the tri-band feature very often. Bad points: Few accessories,hard to personalize: few ringtones, no screensaver/wallpaper. if anyone out there knows a site for ringtones please post!

  • Compact and sleek handset. But often it is open for receiving the call. Headset is used for that one. FM radio for the big advantage for us. Nice and stylish.

  • my opinion on the v66 is its good. I own one it has pretty good reception and signak sometimes, battery last s long and good features but theres only one thing make this phone perfect.   • my v66 doesn't have zoom and backlight colour menu ( only backlight on/off and timer 5/10/20 sec) .. any help?

  • well guys i think the v66 is totally cool. apart from you cant change the backlight and the alarm is crap. But hey who cares as long as it looks good !!!

  • it has alarm function, but the alarm will not be continuous.. only like a ring, or beep. you have to set the alarm like a schedule/to do list alarm

  • re:colour.. NO! the only option you get is backlight : off, 10 seconds, 20 seconds etc. you dont get option to change colour! sms compose is tedious.. much easier on Nokia phones

  • To set the matter straight once and for all: yes there is an alarm and to change the colour of your screen you go: menu -> settings -> other settings -> initial setup -> backlight -> colour -> voila!

  • Lee and others, In my view, the software is *better* than Nokia. Where is Nokia's quick access key ( a kind of mini-menu to put your favourite menu items on) ? Where is the security? As well as locking the phone (a great feature-your phone is 'active' but no one can mess with it), you can now lock applications. So, your message box can be locked, as well as appointments etc. Great if you are security aware (we all should be). Also, the alarm clock is there! Simply set up a daily appointment (easy, huh?). This is a great phone with great features and superb voice quality. There are some disappointments compared to the V50. But you can't have everything.... M

  • Hello, the V66 is a good phone, but the screen and the software are really bad...and dont say anything about the red color for the screen. Nokia software rules.

  • Just been using the V66 for about 1 week. Its a great phone, and obviously will take a little time getting used to it after using a nokia for 3 years. As with anything in life, imagine getting used to the indicators and switches of a car, when switching from right hand drive to left hand drive !!. So you cant really complain. I have 3 really cool bezels for the phone, and it really stands out from the croud. Same ol' folks using Nokia's ... seem to find the V66 a refreshing design.

  • Had to get used to it but now i don't want any other phone anymore. iTAP software is way more inituative than T9. Once you get to know this phone it'll be your best friend for a long time. And the vibra-option makes your pants rip, way way better than all other brands with vibra-call.

  • Please remove the _WRONG_ image for this phone, thank you. The v66 is a phone you have to get used to. After a while you'll appreaciate it. Lots of features and after a while you'll discover that the iTap software is better for SMS-ing with it than T9 software. It's a great phone for users who don't want al the useless crap offered by others. Straight to the point, but with a steep learning/loving it curve. :)

  • My new V66 is small and cute, but has a few annoying bugs. I get the impression they were in a hurry to finish it and didn't bother testing it thoroughly. The selection of ringtones is uninspired, setting an alarm is a five minute mission which often ends up in my phone squealing for a further 5 minutes before rebelliously shutting itself off. It's an annoying phone - I preferred my clunky, cheap phillips savvy.

  • It's a perfect phone except for one major drawback: the display. It's extremely bad to read and has NO Optimax(tm) display anymore! Display lights: - Red is completely unusable - Orange is also not that readable - Green is the best, but even with optimal contrast and lights on you just CANNOT read anything properly in daylight. And no, i'm not blind thank you.

  • Nice phone. Still a little lame on getting the WAP setup. Ericson set up is much nicer. Menu system is totally different than the V51. All new V series menu. Overall really do like it. Just wish Motorola allowed you better setup like the Ericson. J. Amador [email protected]

  • I use BT Cellnet,I have had the opportunity of trying the Ericsson T39,R520,Siemens S45,I recently purchased my v66,for the heavy GPRS user this is a superb phone,ringtones can be modified as with Nokia,graphics do not intrest me.Nokia seem to aim for kids rather than business users.Critisms are the buttons which for me can be difficult to press.I use an average of 90 hours per month on calls,this phone is a worthy replacement of my Nokia 8250. High recommended from me(used Nokia for the last 4 years)

  • I was thinking about buying this phone, but eventually I've chosen for the Ericsson T39m. The Ericsson has more cool functions (IRDA, Bluetooth, ...), has better battery performance and is cheaper.

  • From previous experience, Motorola always give figures that you might expect in real life. For example, my V50 gave 130 hours standby with 20 mins talk time when I first had it. That compares *very* favourably with Motorola's own figures (120+ standby, 3+ talktime ). Compare that with the Samsung and I think you will find the Motorola works out better. However, I do note that the capacity of the battery has dropped from 600 Mah ( V50 ) to 500 Mah ( V66 ). It will be interesting to see how the performance compares with the V50. Perhaps the person who has actually received a V66 can inform us. Was that in the UK, BTW ? Regards Mike

  • Motorola v66 is not as nice as v60c. Why cann't Motorola make caller ID before opening the cover as in v60c. I guess Nokia favors European GSM and Motorola favors CDMA. Soon, Motorola will realize that GSM is more important!

  • I was told that it can synchronize with MS Outlook. If it's true, then it's the second-best tri-band phone. The no.1 is Ericsson T68. Agree?? If it could be enhanced with BlueTooth and colour display, then it could be the no.1, too. Nokia never comes close.
