  • Been using this since 2014 as a second phone, I must say it's a really good device. I use this mobile for texting and the comfortability of the keypad is amazing. Now it gives me 3 days of battery with heavy usage. As all have mentioned, It doesn't have a front mounted speaker and use the main speaker for that purpose. (the stupidity of Nokia) but still it gets the job done. I also have a 105 (Dual, 2015) mobile and it's a vast improvement over this handset.

  • Its a very good basic phone. If you are another person like many others who has become fed up by charging your smartphone hundred times in a day then without thinking twice go for this phone. It'll surely meet your basic needs with a battery back up of 3-4 days when in normal use.It has a FM radio in built though it does not come with a headphone in the packet and when you'll go to the market to buy it you'll find yourself in a perilous condition as it does not support most of the headsets available in the market.But it's a good phone to call and SMS.   • Pros- 1.Fm radio. 2.Multi-alarm system. 3.Great battery backup.Can easily withstand two days of heavy use including listening to radio,calling,texting etc. 4.Huge volume in alarm ringing,it will wake up your neighbours too. 5.Cool themes. 6.Themes are customizable. 7.Flash light. 8.Speaking clock. 9.Strong build quality.I threw it at wall many times,and it was able to withstand every one of those hits.   • I have the Made In Vietnam Phone. Stand-by is never 840hrs, its just 48 hours. Talk-time is never 12h30m, its 4hrs or so. Loud Speaker is not so loud. USB never seen, charging is through pin type Jack.

  • this is worst phone ever from nokia the speaker and microphone has issue within two days. i brought this mobile from howrah and am resident of bangalore. worst thing about this phone is that this doesnt have manufacturer warranty.. they say it has replacement warranty but we should get this replaced only by the same seller. we take a phone because of its brand value and not from which shop we take.. i though nokia is good brand and brought this phone with vat paid bill so that i can get warranty if there is any issues on this. but now nokia care denies it will not provide support or replacement.. i'm in bangalore and cannot go to seller in another state. nokia still considered by case saying it will log a complaint and it did but even after one and half month we dont have any reponse from them. last call we received was that they would give a replacement and would call us where to get the same. no wonder nokia is losing its brand value because if it now low quality phone and policies which are not customer friendly.. do not buy any phone from nokia. companies like micromax and other companies have better replacement and cusotmer service than this worst nokia

  • Contact are in sim. No issue viewing contact after insert them sim. Problem to be incoming and dailled number，only number appear no name. Setting are all correct. Solution to be, clear all the contact in sim and phone. Then save each and every number one by one to phone. No wonder nokia went down.

  • 99p for a phone? Can't go wrong. Bought a tablet (Archos 70b Titanium) and this Nokia 105. I do most of my things on the tablet, but if I need to ring someone there is my trusty 105 there. Battery life is great! The colour is a really nice blue too! Also, it charges lightning fast. Speaker has a great quality, and blares out a ringtone quite loudly, also has a strong vibrator. Great phone, GREAT price!

  • The SAR rating of this phone is far too high. My ear gets hot after using this phone to make a call. In contrast, my Lumia 520 and Galaxy S3 don't, as the SAR ratings are much lower. In addition, this phone does not have a dedicated earpiece; instead the loudspeaker on the back is 'routed' through to the earpiece (in basic terms, the loudspeaker on the back is the only speaker on the phone).   • All people with speaker problem, put salotape on the nokia logo after taking the back cover. Cover the whole logo with two three layers of salotape and put the back cover on. This will not allow the voice to leak through the back side and improve the quality of voice.

With the first one, when you talking on the phone, it's as if you are in a room talking. So I added some money and went in for Samsung GT E-5100. one day of using the samsung and this is my experience: Loud sound (both calling and playing music or radio). Battery hasn't drop a bar yet since i used it (battery is 1000mAh while the nokia is 800mAh). 3.5mm headset connector USB charger but the plugging side is for electrical circuit. 30 stations found but only 10 favorite channels can be stored and you can still go to the available 30 channels and listen to them. Dual SIM as well. So far am happy with this samsung. Bad thing there's no Bluetooth.

  • I was waiting for this phone since long. I wanted a similar phone for elder people and they always prefer nokia due to call and end buttons. However, Nokia was disappointing mainly for the fact that all phones are having the "Voice Leakage" issue. Voice leakage is nothing but, there is no front speaker. Instead, a hollow cylindrical space where you hear voice from the back speaker. Saving production cost. Mind you, it was reported on Engadget that Nokia still earns 5$ on this phone on it's 20$ price. Now, at 1000 Rs, there can be an argument that at this rate you get what you pay for. But, the main reason we need a phone is for voice and optionally messages. If it cannot satisfy the basic requirement of voice, it's useless. There is no point in buying a CAR which cannot run but only good to park in front of home or which cannot speed up beyond 40. It's called Junk. My experience with this piece was horrible, gave away the phone to building watchman and have bought some Indian phone "Blu B6" model(recommended by the shop owner and had 1 year warranty, some Indian firm) for 750 Rs which was satisfying the needs of basic phone call service (plus all features listed on this model including Vibration). The question was not about money 1000 or 750, but trust and brand value. Take an 100-200 extra Nokia, but give us proper basics atleast.

  • This phone is light weight. It has torch , Radio and long last battery. It will be better if Nokia releases such model but big number. .i've noticed that many old people in my country prefer to use single sim phone with fews features only such as flashlight, radio , long lasting battery and solid build ( They don't use dual sim).

  • For now it is still inconclusive since the test is still ongoing for the battery standby. It's just been a week since I started the test and with the published standby time of 35 days it would take quite a time before I post my results and do take note that I used the BL-5C battery with 23% more capacity than the stock BL-5CB. I will still conduct a test for normal usage after the standby test and cannot do simultaneous tests since I only bought 1 unit. But if you're already itching to get a phone now get the 105.

  • Got this for Rs.1100 in Kerala. It is simple, functional and has several good features (like speaking clock, converter, loud-n-clear ringtones) from old model Nokia 1600. Voice leakage seems to be there, as I could hear the conversation clearly from rear side as as well. Speaker voice level is a bit low in my set. With headphones/loudspeaker voice is ok. FM is good. Nokia has removed many unnecessary settings and options and that combined with small screen probably will give it the battery life. While trying some theme adjustment my phone restarted once! Overall a good phone. Waiting to see how battery performs.

  • For me the screensize is not an issue since the display is only for showing contacts, texts and menu items. It would be a real shame if you have a big display but with very limited capability like just viewing texts.

  • Yes, the display is enough. If the screen was bigger the battery life would be shortened since the display drinks up power from the batteries. That is why large screen devices need hi capacity batteries and its not even enough to last a day.

  • Maybe they improved on the power consumption of the LCD and/or the processor and now it consumes less power than the previous models so there's no need to develop new high capacity batteries. If there's a 2000mAh battery for that then that would make it last for 80-90 days on stand by. I'm doing a stand-by test for the BL-5C battery on Nokia 105 so I'll report my test here as soon as the battery empties.

  • I just bought the Nokia 105 and replaced the stock BL-5CB battery with a higher capacity BL-5C and see how long the battery would last on standby Would any other test the voice leak problem or encountered restarts and auto shut off. This test could really take a long time as it's being fully charged as of writing. This phone is lighter than my Nokia 1280. The keys are lighter to touch and the response time is ok. New to me is the multiple alarms. I had the Nokia 101 before and I dreaded the frequent restarts. With the memory card slot, mp3 player it would have been perfect but The restarts really ruined it so I gave that phone away. So I reverted to the 1280 whose monochrome display I find better even in bright sunlight. Hoping that this would redeem the disappointment I had with the 101 and that I wouldn't miss the mp3 player and custom ringtones.

  • May not useful to those who have hard of hearing impaired (DEAF) since there is no loud speaker. Whatever model, name, series, model, no mobile is useful to Hearing Handicapped with normal speech. All is commercial on competetion. Even nor people also complaining that the voice is not clarity.

  • Can anyone tell if the keymat is like the one in Nokia 1100? Texting anything longer than a few sentences with the 1100 will give you the Nokia equivalent of the Nintendo thumb � except it's for your wrist. You have to press the keys like your life depends on it. This is why I'm using the Nokia 1600. The keys are hard plastic and much, MUCH easier to press, which makes it an excellent phone for texting. It also has a slightly better battery life and a bigger phonebook than the 1100. I'm considering the 105 as a replacement as it has almost twice the stand-by time of the 1600, but I've been spoiled by the 1600's keys.

  • I don't think that Samsung make better dumbphones. Samsung E1200 for instance didn't have memento function and radio. Voice leakage can be easy correct with introducing a piece of paper between back cover and phone in order to cover the back sound holes or easily with placing a finger on the back holes.

  • because of the economy. they have only a single speaker behind acting in two modes: like a loudspeaker for hands free and normal speaker for talking at the head. it only reduce the volume, it is only a volume limiter. on the front side is no earpiece speaker indeed,like all normal cheap mobiles have. trash !! go for samsung. cheap samsung models are phenomenal

  • i don't know this, but all the cheap nokias in the last 3 years were horrible because of the sound leak. they do not have speaker for earpiece above the display like all mobiles have,they make just an empty hole, and they have only one speaker on rear side wich acts like loud speaker and earpiece and practically you must keep the phone reversed with the lcd and buttons in outside (like the first communicator) to hear properly. i hope nokia will make spare speaker for earpiece again on cheap models
