Unique design even theres a bit of effort to handy, I bought this phone in 2004 from my early month salaries when I get a job for the first time...one thing I remember the camera was stunning!!!

I bought a Nokia 3660 in 2004 and replaced its battery AFTER EIGHT (8) YEARS of use! But I had to replace the phone with a new one when my new job required me to get an updated model as of 2013. The Nokia 3660 is still in my cabinet, I did not dispose it since its a good phone. It was initially RED but replaced it immediately with a BLACK housing. (its just there are parts of it are white that I can not replace it with black color)

Jus switch back to tmobile after many years and have to wait to buy new phones. Put new Sim card in 3660 and it works. Battery still good. Good memories and pics still in MMC card in phn...might not buy any phone...just go old school when it was mainly talk n text and reject a call.

Nice old phone. Reminds me of those old days when I bought this phone for 16000 /- in 2003 and still have this phone with me kept in my collection. Gprs used to be a very costlier and new thing at that time. VGA camera was an entry during that time. Wallpapers, ringtones and most loving game bounce was the amazing....Really a golden era when people used to buy the phones which lasted for years. In today's time we buy a phone and next day it becomes out dated. wasting money like anything today.

you can instal 3Rd party aplication. I instal ultraMp3 on my 3660. From www.lonelycatgames.com i am sure theres a lot of application outhere to make your 3660 can play mp3. Just find one.

My first phone) I was 14 when I got it. Still have a huge album of school photos, today its usual thing but back those days it was something! I used b/t to transfer them to my pc!)) I actually can play mp3 not by default though...,there was an app for symbian) worked fine! Plus it had WAP! Still have it somewhere around)

It does not play mp3 files, only *.aac, *.mid, *.wav(low-bitrate) as far as I know... But It does not have the built-in capabilities to play *.mp3, although you can install a 3rd party software to enable mp3 playback... As for the gallery, It does have a Gallery, only for photos... As I remember...

my 1st smartphone very sentimental actually,i've used it for 4 years... Until it got broken,dropped it in a pool... I haven't manage to have it repaired til now maybe nextweek i'll have it repaired coz it has sentimental value... I've learned many things from this phone... It's edged capable actually coz when im dloading back then using fget.sis i get to download MB in seconds when I dload large files... Get to play gameboy roms... Get to play symbian games... Get to chat and surf the net... chat in ym,mirc... comobiv3.sis is a good tool to chat with someone over the gprs you can share pics,vids,mp3 or any other file you wish to share. i saw a post about opera mini 4.2,it doesnt work on 3660 coz 4.2 is midp 2. 3660 only supports midp 1. i saw again a post about it doesn't support mp3 it does download the necessesary app for it to play mp3 files... and yeah it is capable of bein a tv remote it has infrared again using an app of course the cool thing about it is when you go to a mall stand infront of the tv's in the appliances section and you can turn it all off haha ive missed those days... missed my 1st smart phone when i get to repair it im gonna go take care of it... =p a nokia collectors item...

Yes of course it can download java & symbian games, and also sis applications from internet so long as the file 4mat is supported. Note that not all sis files can be supported. Talking about music, It can only download wav, midi & amr tones. If u wanna play mono mp3 music, u've got to convert it to wav and then after transfer it to phone from ur PC

I've tried all the gprs configrtn setngs both free and non free ones on it. All to no avail. May be dis phone is only 4 GSM and high speed GSM browsing. Big but gud 4 nothing phone. It cant even support mp3, aac, acc+, wma, m4a, wmv,jad, sis, jpng, and so soo many other file 4mat. opera4.2 dat work on my n72 cant work on it. Hi fellow users, Can anyone advice me on what to do on my nok 3660. It can only be used for browsing 2ru its GSM data connection by use of dial up number bcos the GPRS Data connection is not connecting 2 the internet ever since i bought dis motherfucking phone, rather each time i tried 2 connect 2ru its GPRS, it usually tells me "Services: connection timeout" inasmuch as the configuration settings work really fine on my sony ericsson p1 & nokia 7360. Can anyone advice me on what to do to stop dis GPRS embarrasment. Secondly can Mopera 2 & opera mini 4.2 work on dis phone. If yes why cant it work on mine too. I heard the max MMC Capacity is at 512MB.

to reformat 3660, you just press *#7370# then enter the security code, all the data including the password will all return to factory settings(its 12345), the MMC will not be affected in this situation.

Hey try to reformat the MMC card it should be in FAT if you format it in windows, then try to send the fexplorer via bluetooth, you can have that installer downloaded in gosymbian.com

I used it for 5 years... very reliable phone. It has fall down several times, but no problem. Easy to type sms. I love the functions. The only problem is maybe the dimension, it's too bulky. At the end, I sold it on Dec '08 and swap it to 5310 :(, since my wife hates it everytime I put it in my pocket. Thanks for accompaning me through these years.

so i've had my n3660 for 3 yrs now, i can say its still going strong. i enjoy trying out programs in it. these are some: for themes- u may use SmartLauncher; i use ActiveToday, this has a very nice interface. to play mp3 as ringtone- i simply cut my chosen mp3 with an mp3cutter(to keep the ringtone short like 15secs) and covert it to wav file/form, bcoz the 3660 can play wav ringtones. for mp3/music- i hav an ogg player, it plays ogg files (smaller size than mp3s, i just convert mp3 to ogg files-- u can google this) for programs, check out: i got most of my programs here =)

Hey everybody. There is the way to play mp3 songs as a ringtone. All you need is a program named Goldwave (in your PC). That program can convert mp3 to wav file. You just save file as GSM 6.10 44,100 kHz. But is only one minus of this.The song is mono but you don't hear that.

yeah i do agree, it was the best phone in its era, very reliable unit, this phone might be the next big thing after 6600 in its era of Nokia S60 series, but still, even with this era of 3g and HSDPA generation, this unit can knock other phones out...

my n3660 is great! i have this for almost 2 yrs now. i have a 128MMC. it has mp3s in it & all sorts of programs. i could just do anything with it. ive probably tried a hundred programs w/ this, but i still have more to try. :)

geeez! this phone is great im using a 512mb MMC on it and it rocks for real, now i can store and play 100+ mp3 songs and videos, talkin bout maximum storage, ei and my unit doesnt hang up,regards to batteries well... but still thank god for N3660 FYI: the unit is really cheap nowadays!

RYAN, 6230 has excellent display(very clear even when using the camera) but smaller compared to 3660(has good screen though is nit as clear as the 6230) 3660 has better functions in all aspects coz it's symbian, only drawback against 6230 is the edge,radio... others are great in 3660 you can put everything in that phone... 3660 is better and the best!

The phone itself has the best functions of all even today coz of it's symbian OS power... just install the main utility apps.(unlimited video,mp3, remote which 3rd edition have not, and more) and it will be a hybrid of a computer and a mobile phone that is uncomparable to all mobilephones out there... very impressive. symbian 6.1 is very good, it doesnt often crash or get stuck just as 7.0 and higher do. and it has good and big screen for better reading, hehe! BTW. this phone really rocks! NOKIA if you are there reading, please make an upgrade model for this phone that improves all of it(not 3230 which is very sluglish)... though n-seires have come, still this smartphone have more applications than the 3rd edition OS in the current situation.. hope that developers would'nt stop creating applications for this phone. 3660 rocks!

"can a mmc plus card work in this?", Dragosh, I use an MMC plus 512mb card on it but it only worked after I formated the crd inside the phone. To do that just press the menu key, go in the "Supliment" folder and after that to "Memory" (it has an MMC card icon) and select through the options "Format Memory Card", this only if necesary cause when I entered the "Memory" it prompted me to format the card so... good luck

and it is even better than any other new symbian based cellphone out there. since it is symbian 60 version 1 phone a lot of free ware and crackes software are out there unlike version 2 or later which has a greater security (which crackers pind it hard to tweak these software). I have a 3650 (which is also a S60 phone) and i have.. 1. control freak - instal winamp in your pc and use the phone to be a remote control... 2. mobile tv - hehe... (remember this is 3650 and not N92) 3. mobile radio - 4. antimosquito - you'll not be bugged by mosquito anymore. 5. psiloc IRremote - remote control for tv.. dvd player, vhs.. as the program says.. 6. IQ test and EQ test - this is a java program so it will run on all phones with J2ME.. 7. OMAI Karaoke - 8. barcode reader - it uses its camera to read barcodes 9. psiloc mobile mouse - use your phone to be a pc mouse via bluetooth 10. TimeTool - a talking clock... 11. BlackBaller - if somebody tries to make fun of you just use this sms and call filter and it will block their message or call. 12. Opera browser - internet browser 13. vNes - nintendo emulator and a lot more... like mobile disco, goldwave, macromedia flash, and more. so anyone who hates 3650 or 3660, eat my dust...!

Ashish Bansal 3660 is not capable of loading themes coz it is 6.1 version of symbian, only symbians with 7.0 above can load themes just like 6600,6670,6630 and so on with higher symbian versions so for anybody dreaming of themes on their phone it's over... and imposible unless the 3660's symbian os is updated to 7.0... on the radio software there are many softwares scattered but if you aim to hear radio musicm, it is possible only when connected to the GPRS. my friend have redio on his 3660 but it uses GPRS. if there is a hardware development regaring on the physical features of this phone, it is up to nokia, but impossible because there is 3230,3250,n91,n70 etc. to choose from and a lot of more has been released... 3660 has a java capability of only version 1.0 i am using java softwares on my phone i swear... just like mobile fighter in getjar.com if the java is not applicable on this phone, the version maybe is higher than the version suppoted buy this phone... Regarding on the 20 sec. camcorder.sis i just downloaded on mobango is free and records video with sound, just find it on that site, and more video recording softwares are available and free to download. for those who are saying you will pay for download in mobango then why does i don't even pay on that site? would you please explain that...

Hi All, Its been very interesting reading all ur post.The only this I can see is that there are few questions which have been put at time & again but not answered as a whole.Few of them are as follows : 1.Nokia 3660 have a Themes Issue-Themes cannot be loaded into it. 2.Does Nokia 3660 have any sort of S/w which can enable it with a Radio (I have heard there is one) 3.There is no Java Support even though on the specifications it says it does support it. 4.No More Recording than 20 Sec...even if it is done it is done without Sound.(like with Camcorder from Mobango.com ;-)) If anyone can answer these as a whole or may be even individually I & the whole group wud be thankful to it. i've got a 3660 and it is really a great phone, it's the only nokia with symbian software that can have a stand-by of 4 days, during which talking about 25 minutes/day and making lots of pictures! i had before this a 6600 but the battery couldn't resist more than 2 and 1/2 days! my favourite nokia!

To change the wallpapers you have to go to the settings -- screen settings -- (then must be there an option for wallpaper), you also can go to the picture that you want and in the picture options you can SET PICTURE HAS WALLPAPER (just have to see if the picture is not to big to aply has wallpaper). I�m using Nokia 3650 for a year and a half and I love it. Althoug the posicion of the butons it�s not like what we are used to it�s quite easy to get used to it and after a while its as easy to write as if they were in the normal place. The only problem is th size of the phone, it�s too big and heavy and it�s almost impossible to carry it in our pocket. Nokia 3660 is just too good. I am from India and bought it for Rs 15,000/- It is no longer available in mkt but is still in vouge. It has got the best features. I think 7610 sucks and is way to common these days. 3660 and 6600 are cool.

the ngage has the same symbian os as my nokia 3650. in order to play mp3's on my phone I found software online(google) for the os for the phone, thats right the phone should accept symbian os programs. there is even a movie player from lonely cat software. I convert and watch tv shows and movies on the phone. I had to buy a 128MB mmc card but I can hold 2 tv shows and about 50 low bit mp3's and still have room to spare. so the bottom line is to look into symbian os s60 software with .sis extentions. well.. 3660 is quite a buggy phone.. i had it for 7 months and sold it off.. It has good features apparently but not enuf "infrastructure" to use them.. if u install 2-3 software, it bcomes damn slow.. even openenind inbox takes 30-45 secs.. Polyphonic ringtone isnt too great.. i dint like the sound it produces.. Anywayz. the phone has good feature setr, but not worth buying..

The poor feature of this fone is the lack of ram (random access memory) for multitasking.. With only about 3 plus mb ram (try checking using memory monitor or taskspy), you can only run 2 or 3 quality softwares (mp3 player, symbian games) at a time and is very lag.. The N-Gage is GOD phone!! With around 11.5 mb ram available, you can do lotz!! And of course play quality n-gage games.. By the way, a 0.3 mp pixels camera aint good enough. Better go for the 7610 or wait the mighty 2-way camera fone, Nokia 6680!!!

Had you try-out reset codes? *#7780# is for light reset. If this code will not help try: *#7370# This reset is very deep! It will destroy all information you have. You should make backup to memory card and after reset uppload it back. I had damaged N-GAGE..deep reset helped to fix it. Good luck

I go there everyday, there is a daily limit but it's more than enough. And to answer the most asked question, you can make your videos longer by getting a program called camcorder pro. you can record up to whatever space you have left, good quality video 1.5min/mb. This phoine is a step up from the 3650, the keys are better alined with the normal set up not like the circle design on the 3650. Dear Edlyn, U can try to set the phone brightness first before you shoot the photo. 1st,u might need to select the contrast a bit light, then check the camera setting, it supposed to be set as high quality, then u go to Message, Multimedia, and go to setting, image....it supposed to under 'large'. and of course, u have to set your PC brightness accordingly. My 1 cent. Hopefully it'll help

it's not as convenient to use as the older nokias. ii think it's the symbian os that's to blame. thus using it can be frustrating. i like the camera though, and the big memory. but when i transferred the pics to my computer, they were too dark to be seen though visibility was good on the phone. can anyone help me?

Guys, this phone can do anything....same as Nokia 6600. It just that this phone screen is 65k active matric screen whereby the 6600 is 65k tft screen. This phone not support Theme but at least, u can download Launcher and skin editor. U can even download the skin from the third party content site. Quite nice. For the video, if you like to make it longer than the std one, u can download the extended camcorder. It can play almost 2 hr. U need to change the video setting to the mmc card in order to get the full length of the playback. Ultra mp3 is workin fine, but dont forget that what ever software/application that u download, the first app that u need is seleQ or FT explorer. Otherwise, u cant play mp3 as a ringtone. For muslims, u can get the Mobile Quran, Azan with the time setting up to max 8 slots, Kaabah auto direction and even u can download compress full of ayat/ayah Quran and save it as MP3 player. Its good also if u download virus scanner or anti virus apps. Besides, the application u can download such fotomaker v2.0, foto editor super, enhance foto base editor, auto full fotofit, instant/direct e-mail and there's so many things u can download while nokia 6600 cant. Impressed? find it yourself via Google Mobile. :-)

Nice phone with functions like GPRS, bluetooth, infared... but it's not user friendly in a sense too many buttons... too big like a remote control and also i have to save all my numbers to my sim cards one by one. There is a camera but I would say it's passable only as you can't zoom, sometimes the image u capture will be blurry. And I can't seem to be able to use my Gprs very well to send things to my email in box and I can't dload games though I have a good memory card.

There is no way of gettin themes support 4 this phone coz it runs on Symbian OS v6.1 .Themes only run on Symbian OS 7 or higher.I tried installing series 60 skin support on this phone but it gives system error.So no luck!Sorry,there's no way of gettin themes in this phone.

Hi,I have Nokia 3660.When I set a wallpaper,some empty white space remains at the top between wallpaper and service line which is used for bluetooth indicator,new msg etc.Is it possible to cover that small white gap just like in Nkia 6600?If so,is there any special software for doing that?Plz plz reply soon

Hi guys!! Im getting this cool phone on my birthday... But im still choosing between this 3660 and tne Sony Ericsson T630.. Aside from being cheaper than the 3660,the T630's smaller.. The 3660 also has video recorder and player,and can be used with a lightpen.. One thing that's missing is the radio.. How i wish Nokia could have included radio in it.. I will say 1 more time! There is no RADIO and you can't download it like app! You just can lisen to the radio through internet(full GPRS only) But you can have MP3,unlimited video recording,digital zoom and many more! Program like SmartMovie lets you Enjoy video format(divx) I have 256MB memory card, so Ican put at least 2 full video films :) Great phone!!!

lets assume that if a 256 MB will play about 3.5-4 hours of mp3 music. how many hrs of .ogg will it play? can i store the ogg files on the MMC card. I was supposed to buy the N-Gage QD today, but have been dissuaded by my friends against buying the same. I will now opt to buy either 3660 or 6600. Any idea which is better? U r wright bout it not supportin themes.I looked at the 3650 and the keypad design has changed.The 3650 was not popular due to its dodgy keypad config,3660 has changed if u look closely.but doesnt seem to have changed enough.In light of those two points.I would back the 6600.

go to symbianoggplay.sourceforge.net this is for the ppl who want music.Theres an ogg player.This plays ogg files which are music files,if you want to convert mp3 files to ogg files go www.dbpoweramp.com and download the music converter.The ogg files take up half the space of an mp3, and the quality is exactly the same.Its works on the 3650, so dont c why not on the 3660.So dont look to play mp3's, save half your space and play ogg files.Ive got the 6600 and it works fine on it.

its a good phone with excellent features.Besides the price of it is very reasonable for such functions.i found that a lot of nokia phones have the similar features but theyare more costly.I dont think that is worth buying those phone with similar functions with a higher price.Nokia3660 is worth the price that is pay for.

Nope, this phone dun usually hangs, the first few symbian 60 phone ie the 9210 n 3650 might be a little buggy, some of the 3650 sets i had auto restarts, but with the newer symbian 60 firmware for the Nokia 3660, the bugs are fixed, no more hangs and autorestarts. Also the speakers are all mono, all handsets till now have MONO speakers only, so the quality of MP3 if played with any handphone speakers are only mono output, only SOME, that is SOME handset with stereo earphone jack can have STEREO output, that is only when used with those earphone, like the P800, P900, xphone, xda ii, mio 8380,8390 etc

This phone is great! For those who know nothing about the specs, shut up! This phone has a 65k TFT screen, the same as found in 6600, do not voice and mislead other when u know nothing about it, call Nokia careline to ask for god's sake! Btw the firmware for symbian 60 OS is already 4.57 for Nokia, while the Symbian 70 is still damn new and buggy, the 3660 has a more mature OS than the 6600 does, and the 6600 is popular of having many dead pixels, hardware problem, lousy QC by Nokia. Nevertheless the 6600 is smaller and more compact in size, which does looks better, function wise, both the phones are almost identical.

first, i respect those who hate the 3660. second, i agree to those who love it. ive been using this GREAT phone for 8 days now and i'm so happy i bought it! the resolution is great! pictures are clear and sharp. it's much easier to use than the nokia 3650.( i wonder what made them think that the 3650 is user friendly?! it's so fucking hard to use. it needs a litlle getting used to..) i really can't say the difference between N3660 and N3650 but from 8 days of using it, the pictures are much more clearer and it's easier to use. maybe i'll discovery more great things about this phone on the next few days. please do not compare the 3660 with the 6600 because both phones are really and completely different from each other in terms of looks/price/class. not everybody can afford the 6600. but for those who can only afford the 3660 and want a nice phone with great features, this phone is for you! i really love it! it's not heavy for its size. yeah, it's kinda big, but guys, i'm talking about its features, not its looks. ok? like i said, the resolution is great, very user friendly, has a lot of memory, has a loudspeaker (which is very helpful to those who drive..) etc, etc. just read its features on its page. for those who are not yet really familiar with it, there's "HELP" on the phone where it teaches you how to do stuff, ang gives some tips for easier and faster usage. what i don't like about it: the battery life! it only lasts for 2- 2 1/2 days. that's it. using the camera or video the whole day makes its battery die. so you gotta be prepared with your chargers especially when travelling. the size is fine with me, but it would be better if nokia made it a little smaller. it won't fit in your pocket. and, yeah, the keypads. could be more "solid". it's not as fast as the 6600. but then again, let's not compare two totally different phones. i think i've said enough. to those who are planning to buy a nokia 3660, buy it!!! you won't regret it. BUT, if you can afford a more expensive phone like the 6600, go for the 6600... =) peace!

i saw n3660 the other day and i was really surprised when i saw the screen. 65k? as far as the screen resolution is concerned, you can't really tell the difference between 3660 and 3650. i was really disappointed. ill go with n6600

The best selling Nokia imaging phone just got better and there are a few things I must say first. The 3660 cannot be used to compare with the 6600 as they are aimed at very different financial/professional/social levels of consumers. 6600 being the higher class (better key feel and "design") than the 3660. All things aside, after using this phone for the last 7 days, exploring every nookie and trick that this baby can muster, it's a very stable phone less a couple of quirks which I will say later. UI. after using phones like Treo 600 and XDA II, this is a much simpler phone with functions closer to heart. Applications are more transparent in launching and usage. Screen. It's good... not as good as Panasonic GD88 for it's brightness and colour, but bloody good for pioneering attempts at 16bit colour screens for Nokia. Buttons. The feel could be made better.. wonder if there are modded keypads and keypad bases to make it more "solid". Size. Bigger than usual 8000 series BUT... one the hand, it feels very natural because it's ergonomic like a cordless home phone. plus it's very light for it's size. Battery life. With such available internal volume, they should have at least pumped up the juice to 1300mAh. camera usage for one full day kills the phone, making car chargers an inconvenient necessity. Camera. if only we had the Casio Exilim lens and CCD... sigh... 640x480... good for text, posters, general imaging impressions, not for aesthetic pursuits. perfect for real estate agents and travelling salemen. Features. Ringtone from WAV file is fantastic. I can sing a song and use my voice as the ringtone right from the recorder feature. When set to max volume, it has an ascending volume before hitting max within first 2 rings. Memory. I upgraded with Twinmos 256MB MMC, it registered with 245MB after formatting. Note : DO NOT USE SD cards! They are too thick!

If you don't mind the size (actually not really big) and it's a super phone-very clear & sharp picture and useful video recording. Look at the positive side of this phone and you will find it so much better than many phones. I used to carried camera with me when I drive as afraid of some probematic drivers may get you into trouble,with my 3660 I have a peace of mind-no need to carry extra camera and best of all, it also have video just in case accident can happen. i`ve had 2 3660 phones and both had the same problem.the problem is when i listen to the ringtones inside a profile,it`s sound is loud and clear but when i come out of the profile and someone calls me the sound is soooooooo weak.btw when i turn on the vibration it`s sound turns back to it`s normal volume.damn it.looking for a way to get rid of the neccesity of vibratration.none of my last nokia phones (3310,8210,5210,7210 and 7250)had this problem.even 3650 works properly.plz inform me if there is a way to solve it or there is an upgrade in the web to download.thnx.
