my nokia6822 appeared in Romania in November 2005 and February 2006 I bought myself. then worth 250 euro and 10 euro now worth considering as they appeared when more advanced phones. but I would not sell at all. performances are the same. Internet is very good. appearance is very good. will try to get a E70 that has the same look but improved.

I have one NOKIA 6820 for more than 5 years. Only today replaced battery. I have another NOKIA 6822. Both very good and very easy keyboard for sms and text. Simple, reliable, keyboard working fine. NOKIA should bring similar model and size with more features.

OMG this phone has been the best phone... dropped in water it dried out...take it everywhere when the key on the outside broke or got wet..I could open it up and still dial for help...more phones need the two keypad option like this one...I need a new phone but don't want to let go...the brain is going out on this one. Not the SIM card the phone itself is spinning through all the time..but it's been great!

I just purchased the 6822. I had the 6820 for 5 yrs. Dropped it many times, water spilt on it, and used it a great deal. Great phone for the price and features, which is why I got the 6822.

You could smash this phone in the wall.. an it would still work.Trust me. I have mine for 5 years now and its still working. I am not a feature freak so the memory and camera specs dont really bother me but this phone is soo strong. I have mistreated it and after a couple years it started to blank out but honestly what phone wouldnt. It experienced many falls,kicks and runovers but it still wukkin. I love the keyboard and wished there was a updated version of the nokia 6822. This phone is the best. Go Nokia!!

I got this phone just less then 4 days and it's been okay. My phone already froze 3-4 times and the speaker stoped working for awhile so i had to turn it off by SHUTTING OFF MY PHONE! When i went to ONE TOUCH WIRELESS, it was a very interesting phone, and when he took it out and handed to me, It looked really small compare to the pictures or the discription. The good things are that the camera isnt too bad other than how it doesnt ZOOM so you have to get really close to take a picture. the key pads are a bit small so I have to use my nails. The screen is a bit smaller than it should be. and one really bad thing that I dislike about this phone is that it has BLUETOOTH but you cant download TRUE RINGTONES to this phone. It's amazing how it has INTERNET and BLUETOOTH but dont allow TRU RINGTONES. I alwas download ringtone on my other phone so this was a shock to me and a little disappointment. Other than those, i think i bought it because of the FLIP and how cool it kind of looks. When it's closed it looks like one of those OLD OLD phones haha but than when you flip it... TAH DA! haha for people who are reading this before they buy this phone, I want you to think of these things before you step out the door to purchase one. 1) Do you really need a camera? 2) Is a small screen okay? 3) The ringtones dont work, can you only use POLYTONES? 4) the memory is really reall small... so you have to keep erasing pictures and videos or SOMETHING to save other new stuff 5) the internet is pretty slow Other than those, and if you think your okay with those 5 things than GO AND PURCHASE THIS DAMB PHONE!!

i wish they would make a modern version of this phone. i dont need the smartphone features the E70 has, or a camera or any of that. i just want the flip out keyboard for texting. this phone is way too big, i wont buy phones more than 12mm thick anymore.

Mine just said "Calendar Full", but it has 3.5MB!?! (I am not a businessman with lots and lots of meetings) - and there is no way of deleting old entries! You either delete EVERYTHING, or you have to delete each old entry individually!!! Aaargh!

...it works well in darkness. But it does NOT work well in restaurants, pubs and clubs where the ambient light reflecting off the silver buttons equals the backlight. Contrast = 0! And since the backlight is uneven, there are always some buttons that you can't read.

Aargh! Where's the rest of my post? >>2-the Keyboard does not light ...it SHOULD! There's a button with a lightbulb top left on the foldout keyboard. Unfortunately the backlight makes the contrast WORSE rather than better. Buttons should've been black. -- I have mine for a year now. Looked after it like a baby but the paint wears off. Looks really ugly. :( But still best phone for frequent SMSers like me.

Well, I have had this phone for about 5 months now. Its good, sloid nokia. However, 2 things i dont like about it: 1-Its a bit too slow for me. I had the nokia6230 before this and it is much much faster. 2-the Keyboard does not light, which i think is a stupid oversight on the designing part. generally i would give it 8/10

I have had this phone for 6 months now. I have dropped it, thrown it, spilled water on it. The phone is bulletproof. I am very interested in the Nokia E70 but now that it is available everyone says that is sucks. Funny how everyone said the 6822 sucked until they realized it was a solid and reliable phone while saying the E70 was the best phone ever and now they think it is junk. If you want a solid phone that will last and be reliable then this is the phone for you. Only time the battery drained quickly was when I had the bluetooth on and didn't charge the phone for 2 days.

I cant find a beter phone had the 6820 screen got scuffed got this model bounce it drop it no problems. I used this phone for a total of 860hrs and had no problems my company gets 30 new phones every year all my staff will get toys i will be getting a new one of these

I got the phone last year June and it's been a delight. The only problem I've had was it battery didn't last long, but the I put it in the freezer for 2 days and now it lasts for upto a week. This phone can't break!!!! I've thrown it a couple of times but it still works. If you are someone that needs a tough phone, choose this one!!!!!!!! It won't let you down....

Nokia-6822 : I had used 6820 and was happy, However 6822 is More better and improved one over 6822, the Basic improvements are in areas below : 1) Display (More clear and sharper and more colours than 6820). 2) Battery Life (More lasting than 6820) 3) Camera claearity Others like MIDP 2 version instead of MIDP 1 in the 6820. It has still not overcome the Memory problem as the Memory is same as 6820 i.e. 3.5 MB shared among all applications. Morover there should be E-mail software like MOVAMAIL which gets you all your POP3 accounts even while using basic GPRS. Anyway I lover this phone and much happy because can check/reply my e-mails etc.. But I am now much eager to see E-70 coming in and replacing this phone with more better features.

Had the 6820 which I loved till it died at 14mths old! Water damage i'm told. What water I said. Humiditiy I was told. This is obviously a fault with the phone. If a coating had been applied in manufacture this would have eliminated this problem.

Just got this phone yesterday. It's smaller than I expected. Qwerty works great. Reception is great. You can even set up your personal email account on this phone. The camera is good for what the phone is. I never had a qwerty phone before and I wanted to pick this up to see if I like its set up. When I get the cash I will pick up the E70! That however is not available yet and already is expected to be in the $600 range! I like the 6822. Its a good solid phone. Worth every penny!

i would want to say the upgraded version i guess would be the E71. just the E71 is bigger and bulkier than this 6822 or 6820. i like its size though. too bad the price on the 6822 is crazy, bad camera, no FM radio, and mp3/truetones. but overall, the qwerty keypad is awesome.

I got the Nokia 6820 its not much different than the Nokia 6822...If you want to save money just get the 6820 its way cheaper ($75 vs. $215) and basically the same phone...I suggest wait till Nokia updates the 6822 probabaly in Oct06. This is a great series of phones but the problem is battery life, low memory storage, and poor picture quality but its the best QWERY phone on the planet...that more than makes up for its shortcomings. Make sure you buy a protective cover for this; it needs one. Love It...

i used it for Tmobile... fantastic phone so far, no trouble at all. I would wait until Nokia comes up and adds on: truetone/mp3, card slot,atleast 1mp camera, and yes, bigger screen with 256k color with Analog type clock on screensave!!! naah nokia cant handle all this at once :)

Doesn't have mp3 ringtone support at all?? why do none of the phones that have qwerty keyboards support mp3 ringtones? the nokia 6800, 6810, 6820, 6822, siemens sk65 none of these support mp3 ringtones and the sk65 has 32 mgs of storage!!! plenty for a few mp3 ringtones!!! maybe one day they will release a quality qwerty phone!

i love my 6820 i really didnt care about the camera becuz my 8801 takes all the pictures, i loved the 6820 becuz it was a small, nice, unique phone, it was also very easy to text with, with its easy to use keyboard, i am not so sure im going to buy the 6822, becuz not much improvements have been done on it, i still like the original 6820 design and i hope it stays like that, the design of the 6820 and the 6822 are nice and i want it to still have its unique look, if nokia was able to pack so much things into it already, who knows maybe they might be able to put a memory card slot somewhere on the phone, and maybe even give a megapixel camera and a much sharper screen and maybe a mp3 player and more, technology is growing and are getting smaller. the one i wanted for my 6820 was a changeable faceplate becuz my original one was getting bash up. well thats is all i have to say.

A review from a satisfied customer in the U.S. I give this phone the hightest rating! Since venturing into the world of thumb messaging, I have screwed around with a BlackBerry 7100, a Palm Treo 650, and others. All left me disatisfied. The RIM Blackberry handsets were all to clunky; the 7100 was smaller, but the keys were awkward to press, the device was still huge, and the bluetooth did not sync with PC. Next I bought a Treo 650, which had all sorts of cool bells and whistles and enhanced bluetooth...but without BB service you had to check email manually...and it was just too big and heavy also. The New Nokia 6822 is the best of all worlds -- leading edge Nokia design combined with blackberry push technology: 1) as tiny and lightweight as other Nokia handsets, but 2) folds open to reveal the most comfortable and easy-to-use keyboard I've tried. The keys are simply designed better, so it's easy to hit the right ones. Nice touches include a standard comma and apostrophe (no need to shift), and an on/off key backlight works well. 3) blackberry connectivity with "push" technology to automate email (caution -- not all 6822 handsets have this built in, not even the ones straight from NokiaUSA. I found mine on ebay.) 4) a camera, which is another feature you won't find on RIM handsets. 5) bluetooth that syncs with both headset AND with your PC, for wireless syncing to MS Outlook. Can't ask for much more.

please just beware that when the full keyboard is in use, if u have chunky fingers u WILL NOT be able to use it, the keys are very small.would easily suit many people but not the 'big boned' otherwise ok.

I am soo in love with this phone. The workmanship is awesome and I would be the only person where I live to actually own one. But just as I got my hopes up someone pointed out to me that it doesn't incorporate mp3's which is quite a disappointment :-( Still it's a really really good phone.

If your buying the phone for the camera then look elsewhere otherwise the phone is brilliant. Cool features, slick design and the qerty keyboard feature is so convenient when it comes to typing SMS's. I would rate this model an 8/10! Definitely recommend it to anyone.

soldatt,the backlight for my qwerty on the rite hand side the 2 rows closest to the middle screen have light behinde them, along with numbers 8 and 9, and no other letters have lights. :)

Anyone witha 6822 uses a chat client? There are some Java (MIDP) chat clients and i'd like to know if someone tried one of them yet. I try to avoid hours of growing gray here, that's why is better ask here first. But to me it should be possible, even with a 64kb footprint. Anyone?

3.5MB of memory might be enuf IF more of it could be allocated to messages. I like to archive favorite messages but i'm constantly having to delete to make space for new ones because only a small portion of the 3.5mb can be allocated to messages. Most of it stays with the games, which i NEVER play, and is therefore wasted

I cannot see the character!!!! When used with my Nokia handsfree car kit I cannot see the letters on the screen. So when I want to recall my mate Norm's phone number I have to rely on memory of where the N would be on the search option. Also the screen scratches easily & the pictures are naff

It is a great phone. Mostly targetted towards existing 6820 users, perfect balance between usability and features. The best improvement for me is the reduced delay scrolling the menus. The display is nice and big enough for texting. Regarding a previous post, I agree that the 6820 has a problem with water (I dropped mine in water a few times and it finally gave up) but other than that the design is really good.

the 6822 has a truly unique design and is a pleasure to use. Frankly i have had a 7610 with all the extra features including mp3 and they are all novelty. I used them for 2 months then i couldnt be bothered anymore. I wanted just a normal easy to use phone and it has a classic design with the qwerty keyboard and keypad lighting.If you want mp3s get an mp3 player phones can barely hold any tunes anyway. This phone highly recommended.

Well I finally got the phone and I must say it is an incredibly beautiful phone! :-D I've waited long to get this phone. Design is the same as the Nokia 6820, only the colours are different with the 6822 (better in my opinion) Screen is like the (old) 6230. Quite bright and a lot better than the CSTN-screen of the 6820. For people who need the QWERTY-keys (like me, haha) this phone is perfect for the job. It's not too big, like an communicator. So it's easy to carry this phone around. Now hope that Nokia will improve/upgrade this model later on with the addition of 262K screen, mp3/radio, removable memory card, better camera, etc. etc.

Alright, I will receive my Nokia 6822 within 2 days. They are finally available in the Neterlands. After using the 6230i for a few days (which is quite a good phone!), I felt I missed the qwerty-keyboard. So I'm using the "old" 6820 for now, untill the 6822 is delivered. Can't wait to have it, then i'll post my review here.

Ok I dont have this phone yet but there are only 2 things I would change on this phone. Add mp3 capabilities and some kind of external memory. Other than that nothing. I am so glad they didn't put symbian os on this phone. I also have the 6620 which is a symbian os and that phone sux on the basic nokia expected features. Thanks nokia for not messing up the 6800 series.

Can anyone tell if the backgroundlight of the qwerty-buttons are all equally lighted? With the Nokia 6820 some letters are brighter than some other buttons...

I received my Nokia 6822 a week ago and I just love it! The fold-out keyboard is very easy to use, there is almost no delay in the switching of the screens, the infra-red and bluetooth features work seamlessly with my computer. Installing the extra Java programmes was a breeze. I travel a lot in my work and need to be able to connect via a variety of media while on the go. This telephone fits the bill. I thought of getting the new Nokia 3G telephone, but it was just so ugly that I could not consider it. Furthermore, it lacked some of the features that the 6822 has, e.g. infrared, and the keyboard. This is a beautiful, functional telephone that will make many business travellers happy. I am glad I waited.

oh and will people stop saying its monophonic, its not its polyphonic. just check the downlaods bit of this website. stop dissing nokia, I've had a new phone every year for five years, and its been nokia ever time. I've tried other phones and these are by fer the easiest for texting.

Are you lot serious???? I am a mad texter, my last bill showed I sent 1874 txts adn its all because the 6820 is an amazing phone. I've just upgraded to the 6822 because mines a bit bashed, i've dropped it, soaked it and used and abused it for over a year and its still fantastic! and it's really good at quicvk connection to internet. people who say the 6822 is hard to use and it hurts to txt are very much mistaken!

Does anybody know if the 6822 email client automatically fetches/(or gets pushed) new emails? This is the one pain about the 6820 I have... u have to manually check to see if there is any mail waiting.

too little upgrade, a minor display and camera upgrade is not good enough or worth the time spent on it.. yes, they should've made it a 6230(not to mention 6230i) with the qwerty keyboard.. that'll be a truly fantastic upgrade !

I don't know why everyone is moaning about this phone: 6820 - Great QWERTY keyboard phone 6822 - SMALL update (hence 22 not 20), i'm sure a 6830 with better features will be available in due time. This is basically a 6230 with a keyboard but minus MMC, MP3 tones and slightly better Series 40 software. The 6230 has a 65k 128x128 display, and everyone raved about that phone! This phone also has the same camera as the 6230. Please everyone it's not meant to be an all singing all dancing smartphone. It's a mid range phone with an excellently implemented full keybaord, that being it's main feature. For the price it's a great phone, i've got a 6820 and i love it, i can only imagine this 6822 will be better. Thanks.

Hi, I would like to see 6822 have megapixel, mmc at least for some major improvement over 6820. If not, many current user of 6820 may find it disappointing to upgrade for some minor improvement. 6230 can incoporated mmc, why not 6822?

As I have not yet used the 6822 I cannot tell you what I think of it. I can tell though that I was once an owner of the Nokia 6820. I Loved that phone, not because of its huge screen or mega pixel camera (because it didn�t exist) but because if I ever wanted to send a message anywhere I could send it 3 times as fast as the person next to me. The 6822 Is not going to be a smart phone so please do not say it needs a huge screen or mmc because it simply is just a phone. The 6820 cost me only $450AU while smart phones at the time would have costed me $1000+AU. Don�t be fooled by anti Nokia losers.

You people are all assclowns. I'd be willing to bet that they release this phone for under $150, if not WAY under that price. And, having had a 6820, this is the perfect upgrade. The only things missing from the 6820 were the decent camera and 65K screen, and now it has it. It's NOT a smartphone, it DOESN'T have MP3, but it has everything else. This phone is meant to be a PHONE, and all of its features revolve entirely around making the functionality of the PHONE FEATURES better. Yeah, it's not a PDA, it's not the all-in-one everyone's still waiting for. It's still just a phone. And there's only 3.5mb BECAUSE there's no MP3. If it only supports poly's, you can fit well over 300 tones on it before even rupturing that memory. Thus, this phone will be cheap. I'm sure of it. And it's still the first quarter, there's plenty of 2005 left for the new phones to come out. Stop bitching.

Very Easy for Nokia...add a 65k display to the 6820...Good but they should have done that to the 6820 itself...Too late now..But even then a good mobile when compared with the competition...Has some good features which some people will like...But now a days most people expect a lot from a mobile..like an MMC card,MP3 player,Symbian OS,Bigger Display..So still a not a complete mobile..
