Xiaomi Mi 9 - User Reviews

  • MÁR MEG VAN 2019.10.01 Android 10 QKQ1.19082 5.002 MIU Global 11 .0.5 Stabil

  • I love the phone. Actually I'm using the Explorer Edition/Version. Been using for the past 8 months. There are 2 flaws, One minor and other is major (at least for me). The Selfie cam is a bit too soft for my like. The major issue I found is that it doesn't support G Pay (even though it is recognised under Play Protect). Any other ideas how to make it work?

  • when will this phone get the miui 11

  • Mi 9 or Mi 9 lite better? I dont like 9T bcs of pop up camera.

  • Factory reset

  • Just get the Mi 9

  • My flashlight turn on every time i make a call or recive a call After uppdate to miui 11

  • Yes it is lagging and for me. I mean some games started to lag... It annoying

  • Gaming mean snapdragon 855.. Then go with mi 9

  • Hi guys I'm going to buy a new phone but I can't decide which one. I want a phone for performance and gaming. I saw 2 phones the samsung A80 and Xiaomi mi 9.Can you guys tell me which one should I buy.

  • after latest android update it seems battery charge of mi 9 is improved.

  • Get the Xiaomi Mi 9 as it has the Snapdragon 855 chipset. which has much better game emulator support.

  • Hi all. I'm going to buy a new phone these days. I have almost picked the Huawei p20 pro, but now I have seen Xiaomi Mi9, can you please recommend me which of these two phones is better? Can you make a comparison? Thank you in advance!

  • Chrome is lagging, today using google maps navi reset itself No visible change of battery life

  • Battery is better. Only chrome is lagging when scrolling. That's for now i don't know if there is other problem but everything seem good

  • No it works flawless. And battery seems to last 30-40% longer

  • I just updated mine to miui 11, android 10, no lags. It works fine. Maybe one of your apps, working in the background, isn't fully compatible with Android 10?

  • Nope. No stereo speakers.

  • My Mi9 is lagging after update.. Did you faced the same problem?

  • Got ota update today miui 11 Android 10. I have global mi9.And I am in Iceland. It's installing now.

  • does it have stereo.speakers ?

  • Very happy using this phone, but despite this fact there are small annoying things that I discovered comparing with previous usage of Samsung S6 (used for 4 years). The very first impression is: 1) Very poor vibration function; 2) Weaker than S6 output when using Blutetooth audio; 3) When screen lock active cannot expand the notification to read full or more text. This works when screen is unlocked; 4) In ear headphones mic does not work through the USB-C to 3.5 jack dongle. Tried only AKG phones. Maybe other will work.

  • For the price best . With updates improved a lot especially battery !

  • Mi9 has my recommendation. Glad I didn't buy that Mi9T. Battery life is good. It can last me 2 days, but I'm not a heavy user. In package comes 3.5mm dongle so no need for headphone jack.

  • I want to get Mi 9 Lite. It has super amoled screen. I keep the brightness 10 - 20%. But I don't change wallpaper at all. Will it have burn in issue after few months? Should I use dark wallpaper? I don't care about better colors. I need durable screen. What about LTPS IPS? Is it better than IPS LCD?

  • u l o l ! ! !

  • After 5 months nothing of that at all. Great screen.

  • I've had no burn in, it's generally not an issue on modern amoled's given normal usage.

  • Hi guys. I want to buy a new affordable Xiaomi phone with super amoled screen. I know about resolution and size. I'm afraid of amoled burn in issue as it will be my first phone with amoled screen. Have you got burn in issue in Mi 9? Please reply fast.

  • mi9t pro u want to have an earphone jack full screen without notch amd better battery life .. mi 9 if u want nice camera and better screen

  • Mi9T Pro or Mi9 ?

  • No.. Snapdragon 855 compete with kirin 990

  • Does kirin 980 better than snapdragon 855?

  • Rly? My Mi9 have at 23:00 30-40% with 8 hours usetime

  • If you're thinking about notification icons visible only for a brief moment, then yes. That's still an issue. However, the upcoming update with Android 10 that should come out in several days should solve that issue, we'll see that.

  • I'm thinking about buying this phone. Is it still showing issues with notifications?

  • The problem with these water tests is they are very subjective. One person's experience might be different with another person.

  • You have something wrong with your phone 100%. Without touching it.. It will last 2-3% not more at all.. Or you have many many apps running in background

  • Yes it is splash resistant. Look on YouTube for a video where some guy tests it, even in bucket of water.

  • Battery is really bad, 8 in the morning I had 100% of battery and in 17:00 was only 40% and I haven't touched it. So for me is really bad

  • whole day, even with hames ;)

  • Gcam takes better selfies than stock App. Stock Will do better using 48MPx

  • This phone is amazing in performance and battery. The only Thing i dont like is that little notch. The IR is something im finding very useful. All RC in the phone is kinda cool.

  • enough for one day usage without gaming

  • So umm.. Can anyone give a their user opinion about this phone. I'd like to know more about the daily usage scenario. How's the battery life? How does the stock camera perform?

  • Is the phone actually splash resistant i.e. safe in light rain or accidental spills?

  • Hi guys. Do you recommends xiaomi phones? I mean are they high quality products? Do they works well after years.

  • It's good phone and solid. But now if you follow the news there is sure better phone.. Wait for mi 9 pro.. Mi mix 4.. Huawei mate 30 pro and other a lot is launching now.

  • It's good phone or bad???

  • check on youtube, just type (mi 9 gcam vs stock cam)

  • Did you have this problem? Did you get better pics. With gcam?

  • Yes I use it but moving objects like people inside restaurant. Are bad. Do You get good pictures inside of people when light is bad?

  • dont you use nightmode? i take great pictures with night mode

  • install gcam app

  • I have mi 9 for a month now But the camera is awful. It's ok in daylight. But in the evening when gets darker pictures of people are unusable. My friend has iPhone 6 and gets good pictures in same condition. Is there something wrong with my phone? Are you getting good pic's of people in restaurant in the evening?

  • really?

  • I ended up returning it after 2 weeks - the camera was just amazing, but the phone would restart during basic actions

  • I hope they ditch that notch in Mi 10.

  • it comes with a small type c adapter which connects through the type charging place and the other end has a 3.5 mm headphone jac

  • From a store who sell it. What that question man. At least say where are you from maybe someone can help you.

  • So you can use a hdd but you can't use a dongle? For me sd card slot is more important(but not too much) than 3.5mm jack

  • It depands upon you.. Benefits of mi 9 over k20 pro: 1. Better rear cameras (wide & Telephoto) 2. Better selfy camera (wide aperture - Brighter photos) 3. Fast face unlock feature than k20 pro 4. Wide range colour gamut display (Hdr 10, dci-p3)over hdr conte display of k20 pro 5. Wireless Charging 6. Good in hand experience (Sleek & slim) 7. Elegant design 8. IR blaster 9. Gorilla glass 6 on display. Benefits of k20 pro over mi 9: 1. Notch less display 2. Great battery capacity 3. 3.5mm jack 4. Trendy design 5. Pop up selfy camera 6. Modern look

  • where could i buy Mi9?

  • Pick k20 pro if you want notchless display, better battery life and a headphone jack. Only plus to mi 9 is slightly better cameras.

  • I would go for k20 pro. Mi 9 has better cameras, but it ends there. K20 pro has a notchless display, and a longer battery life, though you will notice it only if you're a power user. Basically pick whether you prefer the display, headphone jack and battery or a slightly better camera.

  • If Mi 9 and Redmi K20 Pro in the same price, which should I buy?

  • Count me 1 too. 😅 Mi9

  • Hahahahahaha you are dmn right you forgot we don't need camera you can use a professional camera and no need to screen use your tv

  • No SD Card slot? OK, I have no problem with it. I can use HDD via OTG. But what in the hell "No 3.5mm jack" is?! I'm pretty sure that in the future, Apple would ditch these: 2020) Vol+/Vol- buttons Apple's answer: Use the virtual volume buttons. 2021) The phone's mic Apple's answer: Use your own studio's microphone. 2022) The phone's in-built DAC. Apple's answer: Buy an external DAC. 2023) The battery Apple's answer: Plug your phone into the receptacle. 2024) The chipset Apple's answer: There's no need to use a chipset in our phones. Instead, we all can use our PCs which all are powered by Core i9 9900k and RTX 2080 Ti. 2025) The phone itself Apple's answer: There's no need to use our phones. We all have $6500 MacBooks.

  • After 2 year of use probably your phone is not ip68 anymore.. Mi 9 faster for sure and newer camera and it is better i think.. And your 4000mah battery is not well performing like a new 4000 mah after 2 year of use too.. But yes i used huawei before and their support is much much better.. They update more and always last security update before anyone get it.. But xiaomi take long to update every 2-3 month to see an update and it is always an old security patch by a minimum month.. Or wait for mate 30 pro.. If you can pay the 1000$..

  • Hi guys i have a huawei mate 10 pro is it worth to sell this one and switch to Xiaomi Mi9??? my phone pros is ip68 - very nice and fast phone after 2 years of use - better company and very good support from them -bigger battery (4000mAh) -better speakers please answer me Thanks a lot

  • Miui is pure crap. It's bloated, and breaks a bunch of stuff you would think should work from stock Android Also, screen says it's bigger than it is, my nexus 6 felt just as big, this one is tall and narrow. Hardware seems fine, it's the latest chipset and such, just wish it had a stock Android on it.

  • Waiting for MI10 with IP68 RATINGS. and bumbles camera setup on back panel. Other specifications is far more beautiful.

  • I've read somewhere, that the oleophobic coating is not good on this phone, is it true???

  • Go to samsung page go.. This mi 9 have the best gps ever i tried! This is my first xiaomi device and the gps is very accurate! Much better than huawei and sony and nokia! I never tried samsung because i will never buy an "exynos" device for 1000$ and stay lagging always and about their gps maybe you are right maybe not.. But for me i think it is not.. But the mi9 gps is very accurate and very fast in 2-3 second you take your position and very accurate..

  • The phone heat when playing pubg and when charging only. Playing video never overheat any phone

  • My Samsung C7 2017 has very accurate GPS & it lock in position within 2 seconds, after owning 4 different Xiaomi phone I can conclude all Xiaomi phone has bad GPS, even Flagship & Android One.

  • GPS works great every time, no issues at all

  • That's the way it is some system stuff takes up ram I think, it's like that on all phones

  • This phone is amazing but first things first: PROS: • Super powerful phone: With that low money you get decent SD 855 with Adreno 640, that is incredible! • Fingerprint at it's finest : Works like a charm and fast plus it is on-screen fingerprint which is more secure. • Camera strikes! Camera is just something amazing, the depth the wideness and quality will boom your mind. I almost forgot what are cameras used for because actually I never use cameras and never was into them but this phone's camera is beast! TRIPLE camera... • Too Thin : It is advantage surely as it is really thin and made beautifully • Less notch: The amazing part is the notch as small as front camera • Display: Now you have not only some not smooth display but really decent one almost equal to Samsung's • GPS : Gps is very precious and gives really good location on High Frequency • GPU: You are going to get decent gameplay and not laggy 4K videos! CONS: • Heat: Heats like a hell! If you just start to watch a video it simply heats like a hell • Battery: Yeah, again battery issues..with 3300 MAH you are not getting decent workload and barely can last a day if you are going to actively use the phone. BRAND NEW bought one has that issue. • Poor and not-professional support of Xiaomi: Although this device is uniquely new but still Xiamoi misses major and critical fixes including - Notifications are not shown, alarm icon becoming persistent if you ever put an alarm, too many bloatwares in OS and OS weights around 3 GB which means the've put extra 1.5GB into the stock Android OS...no clue what they did? • Slickness: It slicks from your hand soo easy, material of the back is slicky as hell • Audio Jack: Yeah that is an issue which I have faced. I wanted to charge and have my headers on simultaneously but you are out of luck if you are going to charge via cable • 1 WEKK waiting: Waiting time for me was 1 week to unlock the bootloader. Still Xiaomi does it's best to make users not to be comfortable in using their own product which they have paid for. VERDICT I don't regret buying this one! It is amazing phone for the price I have paid- 500$+- and I get amoled screen with SD 855 and 6GB of RAM which is yeah low but still. Compare to any other SD 855 phones..you will have to spend minimum 1000$ to afford one so for that price this phone is a complete winner! if Xiaomi would fix the CONS mentioned that there would be no cost to this masterpiece in whole WORLD. NOTICE This phone is tom first in benchmarks, 1st place...so you'd better buy this one. Iphone and other phones are now in faaar past.

  • And how's the macro quality, which of the modules actually does it??

  • is anyone using it, realized for mi 9 RAM 6GB just have 5.523GB? i using cpuz/Antutu, its read like that.... anyone have same problem? or just my phone

  • Or anyone else can suggest which smart phone has the most accurate GPS?

  • Hello Naganaveen india, I was about to buy the MI9 for the dual GPS, which is supposed to be more accurate than most other smart phones, due to dual band GPS. Is your experience with the MI9 still negative?

  • I wonder when the exact Xiaomi Mi9s will come out

  • Mi 9

  • Which one is better Mi 9 or Redmj K20 pro?

  • Nope

  • No OIS for main and tele camera. Its not flagship grade. Whats wrong with xiaomi?

  • Hi guys does Mi 9 wearing spigen case charges with wireless charger or Xiaomi wireless powerbank? I want an answer from some1 who tried thank you!

  • if you are on a tight budget then i might say go for xiaomi mi 9, if you can afford to buy a premium device with a good camera and a oled display go for huawei p30

  • I test an average of 5 smartphones a day, for its price it is the best only the sterio sound when I feel apart from it I validate it and I recommend it

  • MI 9 is better all the way than SE: bigger screen, gorila 6 glass, better Chipset, better GPU, better CPU, 6/8Gb Ram version, Laser autofocus, optical zoom on camera, better battery capacity and battery life, quick charge 4+, wireless charge

  • Price and quality battery.. Mi9 flagship anyway by mi 9 se is just a mid range

  • mi 9 and mi 9 SE have differences except processor and size?

  • P30 better camera and battery not by much.. Mi 9 better performance and better price.. I was in the same situation.. I went with mi 9

  • Huawei P30 or Mi9, guys, I'm really confused...????

  • Dxomark 8th place..excellent photos.... one cons: no OIS

  • How`s the camera quality, is it good??

  • Update support is pretty bad, it's almost the half of august and this phone is still on the june security patch...

  • Mi9 has been updated to Android Q(either beta5 or 6 idk) today via MiUI 10 EU rom. won't arrive via OTA though

  • Include in your options the Honor 20 PRO and Huawei P30 after the recent price drops. Mind you, there's no such difference between SD 855 and Kirin 980 on day to day use. -,-

  • Mi 9 and mi 9 SE camera have many differences? Priority phone size, camera and mid processor which enough for gps, navigation, and active browsing....

  • The most balanced mobile I've had, the only thing missing is the jack, the rest is a full-fledged flagship

  • Dual frequency gps not good need improvement, Samsung A10 better than mi9

  • Fair points. In general, I am happy with the image quality, it's a bit more realistic in comparison to other high-end phones. I'm using Gcam in parallel but to be honest most of the time I'm OK using the regular camera app. The speaker sound is nothing to write home about, I agree. However, 90% of the time I'm using earbuds or a Bluetooth speaker so I can live with that. In the end, it's all about striking a balance between specs and price and from this perspective, Mi 9 is hard to beat.

  • Thanks for the advise! Just bought the 128gb version :)

  • I bought it a week ago and I am satisfied. I would have wanted a bigger battery, but this is charging fast.

  • Go for redmi 20pro

  • I'm really sorry guys, but I cannot agree with people' saying that Mi9 is the "Xiaomi's best". I've bought one about a week ago and spent that week for testing the phone. Honestly, I was quite disappointed by image quality of photos - same were almost always overexposed also the sharpness left much to be desired. Colours were not vivid, etc.etc.etc. In addition, the phone hasn't got any optical image stabilization whatsoever. The lack of stereo sound also wasn't improving my impressions. The phone really looks nice and feels very well in hand etc., - but I cannot keep the phone only for it's good looks and due to the fact that the phone as such works OK, - these days one needs a decent camera and a better sound. Sent mine back, went for more expensive Huawei P30Pro instead, - hope it would offer what I need at that price level...

  • Depend what games you played, if you kinda played pubg or mobile legend etc. My advice is to get 128GB so that you dont really have to worry about storage insufficient in the future if you use this as a daily driver

  • Include LTE speeds in your search options

  • man if they put a 5000 bat in this it would be number 1 everywhere

  • Please cover importance of SAR values in all your reviews

  • Is 64gb enough? I would use the phone for games, social media, daily use, books, im not taking a lot of pictures or recording

  • Yes you are right.. It wasn't before.. Now after the updates i check it and saw that we can disable it

  • Yes, if the carrier supports it.

  • You absolutely can disable the assistant button or remap it to something else on Official Global software.

  • The mi9 has oled display and triple camera Battery rating is 95h for mi9 and 96h for honor view 20 The sd855 is faster and much more power efficient

  • Mi 9 or Honor View 20? I know snapdragon 855 is a bit better than kirin 980, but v20 has better battery and audio jack so I cant decide.

  • Mine drains like 1% in 1.5h But i clean the cache and use batt saver, data and wifi off

  • Battery life is not a key factor for selecting a mobile phone, despite the CPU power, Camera quality,.... I can not walk all-time with a power bank or a charger to charge the phone during the day. the default acceptable mode is to charge once a day (at night) i.e after a full work day usage.

  • Not suggesting it , a flagship processor with a J6 Plus Battery ? Just go for K20 Pro / Mi9T Pro

  • Maybe just battery drain im global versiin.

  • Yes mine is the same, so i put it in battery saver mode after charging it.

  • Worst battery life EVER...six hours without heavy using.... I am returning it. Tamar is very good but I did not buy a camera.

  • You are pressing the google assistant button on the left... You can't disable it.. You should avoid pressing it

  • Hello, is anyone has the same problem as me. the google assistance keep pop up on my phone screen. and it cause consuming a lot of battery usage. How to get rid of it? plz help!

  • 2% per hour is not bad for the Snap855 CPU and a phone with this screen size. Means you have 36 hours (give or take) of standby. Bear in mind that Android Pie has a *ton* of background tasks. Only a few vendors have worked out a true background task management. Samsung had it sorted out in older release .. now is is back to crap again. Background CPU usage is a constant war between Google and the mobile device manuf. There are stacks and stack of must do and must have specs related to this. Google wants full control of how the phone should behave when it is doing "nothing". Mobile device makers want to eek every hour possible out of the smallest battery available. 2% per hour?? Iphone X users would name their next born child after you if they could get those specs.

  • Do anyone else have major battery drain when in standby? It uses like 2% pr. hour, when it's just lying on the table. I haven't had any problems like this, with other Android phones in many years. The battery usage indikator in the settings says it's Android system that uses the most.

  • I'm using mi 9 global version it's support indian volte? Please any one help me

  • But when i stop playing pubg the phone cool down quickly.. It seem a problem of pubg with processing on the sd 855.. Maybe it need more time to get programed better with this cpu.. Or maybe never i don't know

  • No lag at all i even tried hdr and 60 fps and great performance! Just a heat.. I usually play smooth 60 fps but always heat.. I know i am not the only one... But never lag or never got any issue while playing.. And when the phone heat the battery drain much faster

  • Nope 0 lag on smooth extreme antialiasing on shadows off colorful

  • any burn in issue?

  • noticed any lag while using claw in pubg??

  • Why Xiaomi still keeps dual-band gps for flagship Mi line? Is this technology still very expensive or hard to do for mid-range phones like Redmi Note 7 or Mi A3? Anyway still looks great though

  • Very Good Flagship Killer Yet At First I Was Planning To Change From My POCO F1 To Redmi K20 PRO But After Seeing MI 9 Is Cheaper Yet I Changed To MI 9

  • My mi 9 dont getting hot im playing pubg on ultra hd

  • This is not faulty this is real the phone get hot easily.. But i don't make a long call i don't know if it overheat while calling.. But on pubg is getting even worse very hot... I don't know if weather have something with.. Because this summer is very hot and humidity so bad.. But i am not going to sell it.. I like the phone a lot.. Anyway i don't play pubg much so it does not annoy me much

  • For below 450 euros it is indeed a killer. Battery might seem small but it has really small consumption relative to other phones which makes the battery last average at worst. It's not close to the best performer in terms of battery but it's definitely above average, which I'll take for a slim build.

  • It got hot even at the time of voice call, nobody notice in GSM arena I think my unit may be faulty then I buy second unit but I am facing the same problem. I am thinking to sale this. Goodbye MI

  • i think, everything in this phone is perfect include price, except notch

  • Snapdragon 855 ----> low power and high performance

  • In specs P20 PRO's thickness is 7.8mm, while mi9 has only 7.6mm. If you lid them on a table next to each others, mi9 is more fat (and you can feel it also in your palm). I do not like this habit of vendors about define thicknes on a random point of the phones in their marketing strategy, as I made my decision next to mi9 finaly based on that is thinner than P20 Pro (there are not too much further differences - for me). Otherwise mi9 itself is brilliant in each segments what I use (I do not play games on it): super fast, great battery life, and it's photos and videos are pretty brilliant also in half-dark places (P30 is better in really dark places, but that is for double price). Stable, good-working face-recognation, etc, I am happy with it.

  • Then go read my post where i asked the question or go away you too! You see i am joking with you and him right?

  • K20 pro have a bigger battery ,mi 9 is not for gaming

  • You might want to reframe your question , if you want someone to help you That’s not the best way to ask for help

  • I want to play pubg.. You don't have permission to say to people whatever they do with their phone. I am asking a question and you just answer the question or go away

  • Don't play PUBG Then... JK I have it and couple of days ago I recorded a very large video, 15 minutes or so. My previous phones would, just after 10 or less minutes, turn the camera off and enter the cool down mode, but this machine just keep things the way they are. And yes, It didn't overheat.

  • Then u are now using a Vivo v15 pro which not a type C supported LOL just LOL

  • It is same cpu gpu ram an storage and resolution..

  • What is better to buy Mi 9 or K20 pro in terms of performance?

  • Guys do you notice that the phone is getting hot when playing pubg? Hot really hot! They said the phone is not getting hot like huawei flagship with kirin 980.. But i see it is really getting hot... The screen on the upper body specially.. And more heat when playing at 60 fps! This is not a good sign! But with the heat and the phone perform great with no lag at all.. Do you see that too guys??

  • its really amazing phone the most phone iloved ever

  • Added S10 to flagship collection, it's not very strong competitor to the 2019 nr. 1 flagship Mi9, but might pick it as daily driver due to some reasons (e.g the MIUI repelent). OnePlus has to go, this is a dead brand without wireless charging + too heavy for anybody for already 2 generations. Keeping Mi9 and S10. Compare advantages: Mi9: - 2x faster UI - 2x faster fingerprint - 2x faster charging (nr.1 worldwide, Mi9 Qi faster than S10 cable and 2x faster than Samsung fake "15W"!) - faster USB (via USB2, still faster than Samsung USB3) - LED light - battery is greater S10: - much much better OS in almost every aspect vs disfunctional and ugly MIUI, lots of productivity tools - SD card 1TB for music and easy backups (failover mode) - the jack - cutout seems less annoying than notch (OnePlus can hide it in smartest way) - lighter, compacter and waterproof certified Equal: - sensors: infra vs hearbeat/barometer, similar value - rootability: both are terrible at it (here OnePlus is the king) - design: both sexy unlike OnePlus6-7, S10 edgy but Mi9 curved back & thinner - bloatware: they can shake hands, tons of spyware on both Maybe mention 6T also: - 2x faster UI - 2x faster fingerprint - battery is super fantastic against both - notch with best cutout - fantastic doze gestures - super easy to root - least bloatware in the industry Rest is disadvantes: horrid charging via non-standard warp, no Qi, no sensors, heavy, ugly, thick, too plain software, no LED, no SD, no jack. Removed from flagship category due to poor charging process. Even if they fixed this, it'd be too heavy for daily use.

  • Regarding battery. It's really good. 72hrs without charge, 15% left. 4h 12min SoT and 1hr of phone calls. You have to worry only if you do heavy gaming. But then any battery will be an issue.

  • Very good , i bought it, first i thought battery would be an issue but later i found out in full charge you can use social apps like Facebook and Instagram for around 7 to 8 hours a day which is quite amazing for 3300 mAh battery 🔋, Also you can enjoy this even more with the 27W quick charge 4+ which can charge your phone from 1 to 100 in just 55 minute . So if there's anyone that think the battery is a problem i would like to say that from my experience it isn't a problem.

  • Here is the thing about battery life. Smartphone are designed as a phone, and also be designed to last for at least one day for talk time. Those who compare gaming longevity are just pointless. Even many flagship nowadays offer up to 4000mah battery, the gaming longevity does not go all the way much longer. For smartphone like Xiaomi Mi9, good thing is I can use the saved money to buy accessory. A compact powerbank/power pack with QC3.0 capability from Xiaomi is a good start if worry your phone always need to get recharged. Then, car charger with QC3.0 also is a good investment, probably a cheap one will do the job. Cable would be just any type C cable that is able to transfer data, as long as safe to be used, regardless of pricing. Please, if you really want to blame, blame Apple iPhone that start the trend of non-removable battery that now become stand for all smartphone. Water resistant feature, premium glass/metal body unibody design also are the factors to blame for implementing non-removable battery. If you still complain about battery life, then stop using smartphone.

  • I have the same concern before about the battery.i thought it's not good enough for one day. But still I bought it. Based on my experience its good it last me for a day. The camera is superb..fast charging...

  • With normal usage it can get like 8 hrs (using social media occasionally)

  • Hi guys, I want to buy the mi9 but I'm a bit insecure about the battery, I do not play games nor am I demanding too much, but for now it's the only thing that holds me back. Without external apps, does anyone know when the update is extended to solve the problem of notifications in the status bar? Thank you !!!

  • F1 photo quality is not at par even compared to Mi 8.

  • I got a new stable update with june security and lock screen pocket mode! 10.2.12

  • A little inferior in camera set up and without wireless charging but with bigger battery? Having the same price, I'll still go with Mi 9.

  • Meizu 16s, probably

  • imong mama pixelated

  • imagination

  • You can only get the pocophone f1 maybe.. Sd 845 but still solid notification for the price

  • Is anyone else having pixelated streams in Twitch? Or pixelated videos in 9gag?

  • I have it for a week now, best phone I ever had. I know that MIUI is not for everyone but it doesn't bother me at all

  • not for now

  • Can you recommend a cheaper phone with all the specs you needed powered by SD 855 and can capture quality photos?

  • He was asking that if he should change his samsung to xiaomi mi 9

  • Try compare this to the iphone, samsung, etc. This already considered a affortable flagship device.

  • Thanks for the recommendation but it's too pricey for me. -,-

  • Man is the price very high??? Are u joking or something??? 500$ vs 1000$ galaxy phone? Or iPhone or any other else?? Omg the price is like the midrange of other companies!! Or you are an indian man who want everything for free like always?? Guys wake up! Xiaomi is going crazy for that negative people... Go buy a galaxy for 1000 $ with exynos! And then get sad because a 1000$ phone lag and this mi 9 is great and only for 500$... Btw i got the mi 9 in my country for 700$ and i am proud to have it and i don't care at all about the price... Huawei and Samsung flagship are 1000$ + here... And kirin and exynos are always lower than snapdragons in performance..

  • I've been using this phone for a few months now. It is still very fast, barely gets warmer when playing a lot of different games. There's under-screen fingerprint scanner works great, better than many non-under-screen ones I've tried. The GNSS (GPS/GALILEO/GLONASS) is very accurate and works so much better compared to other phones and devices I've had. The camera is great, the camera app could be better, but Google cam fixes that. The signal reception it has is also very fine in my use. I'm usually pretty critical but right now the phone hasn't disappointed me in any aspect. Oh, and also, USB OTG works for those who might be wondering if the Mi 9 supports OTG.

  • Pixel 3a XL? decent battery life though not class leading, one of the best cameras around and 1 of the first to get the updates

  • No?

  • Xiaomi Mi9 n Redmi k20 pro these are flagship killer phone but also they didn't provide 3.1USB Type C.. just 2.0 type C port... But price is very high

  • No

  • The option of vibration of mobile when my call is answered (wonderful option)work at beginning of my using this mobile but now doesn't work at all for no reason.

  • Nope because Samsung S9 plus : sd845 Xiaomi Mi 9 : sd855 way better

  • The option of vibration of mobile when my call is answered work at beginning of my using this mobile but now doesn't (nice option) work for unknown reason..

  • Should I change mi Samsung S9 plus(snapdragon Version) for the Xiaomi Mi 9?

  • Amen to that. The battery rating is dubious to say the least.

  • I have the mi 9... The phone is great.. I haven't tried the k20 pro but maybe the battery on the k20 pro is a plus there... Mi 9 battery is great for normal usage.. But when it come to gaming it is drained very fast...

  • mi9 is the nr.1 flagship now as you can't really get anything better. S10 doesn't look rootable, no ROMs published. Onepluses ain't got no wireless charging, or LED light. And that's it. can't believe i'm charging 20 straight watts without cable! that's the innovation samsung should have brought 5y ago. also i have very thin and light magnets attached to the case, so i can come to the car and it will stick to the magnetic holder and charge! Before, i used to place it in a giant holder, then lock it, and then attach a cable - that was inconvenient. regarding battery, it looked poor in the beginning, but once settled in, it's pretty good. Leaving home with 75%. No worries that the phone would be discharged next day. 1+ is even better, true.

  • regarding the slefie cam. i have the mi9 and its selfie cam really dissapointed me. my previous phone s6 edge made better selfies than mi9

  • I use mainly internet browsing and play game. About me camera is not important but battery and display and internet speed

  • All depends on your phone providers and what you need in the phone.

  • Mi9 will be...

  • Guys pla tell me Xiaomi MI 9 or K20 Pro ?! I am confused .. Mi 9 have bigger speed for internet and more fast. K20 Pro have bigger battery and display, selfie camera ?! Pls tell me which one and why ?!

  • My mom's A70 unfortunately has touchscreen issues, even after resetting. Brought it to Samsung, factory reset and so on, issue is still there. Hardware repairs took at least 1 to week. And then, looks like they're coming again. Maybe the One UI is killing the phone? Haha, hope not. If you want to get the latest A series phones, wait a while 'cos it looks like some of their batches are a bit problematic.

  • Thanks for the response as I'm looking for my Mate 20's possible replacement. My main concerns are battery life, camera, timely updates and minimal to no bloat wares.

  • The A70 128GB can be bought for around $380. The Mi9 128Gb is around $450. Definitely the Mi9 has the better camera and it also has wireless charging, which is still rare in the price bracket. But for someone like me, I value battery life, headphone jack and MicroSD card slot more than the top tier processors and better cameras found in the Mi9. Plus, I prefer Samsung's One UI over Xiaomi's MIUI.

  • How much is the price of A70 and Mi 9 in your country? Are you telling that A70's camera is better than Mi 9?

  • The single bottom firing speaker is loud but not so good. It tends to become distorted and cracky when you turn up the volume to 100% and play some high volume sounds. - is this true for those mi 9 users?

  • They dont have IR infrared , weak phones

  • What matters is the price. Not everybody needs Top notch processor. For some (like me) design, camera & headphone jack is more important than the Processors.

  • You can't compare midrange to flagship

  • Why don't you consider the Samsung A70 or the Oppo Reno? Both these phones are equally premium and offer longer standby time with fast charging support.

  • I disagree to say that OPPO Color OS is better than MIUI. Ok, on basic, I have nothing against these UI thing, since it doesn't affect the usage of apps and gaming for daily usage, it get the job done. The only problem is the updates. OPPO have this track record on bad Android update, you can read these comments on GSMArena forum, they won't give any update even the device is still within one year, and even if they provide update, they are much slower update than other brand. Recently on June 2019 their sibling only give Android Pie updates for Vivo and Realme smartphone, but OPPO side of phone still wait, while many flagship phone already get the Pie update before 2019. You need to understand no phone is perfect, and also there will be newer and better phone release in the future, so it is actually unfair to compare a phone that is recently released to a phone that is released earlier. Then, price point is also a thing. SD855 in Mi9 definitely trump over the SD710 on the normal Reno, on par with Reno 10x with the same SD855, but the price point sold is higher than Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus in my country, of course Mi9 128GB is much cheaper than OPPO Reno 10x Zoom. It is a choice, if you just focus on camera, then OPPO Reno might be the better choice, but you cannot omit all it's downside due to you being favor more for only the camera, where you assume camera is everything.

  • I assume you mean the sd 855 s10 then yes overall the s10 would be better, but if its the exynos variant than maybe mi 9. hope this helps.

  • Are you in beta test? If yes it is better to go back to stable version.. If not try to factory reset

  • Anyone else having poor (pixelated) video quality on videos received via Viber, in 9gag, and especially in Twitch TV app?

  • How to turn off the always on of the fingerprint scanner of mi 9?

Leaving home with 75% left with permanent bt, vpn, location tracking and tons of stuff. No worries that the phone would be discharged next day. 1+ is even better, true, like perhaps staying 2 days. But i got rid of it because of very slow cable charging and no wireless charging.

  • My phone often hang & reboot by itself

  • It's not that bad... It last me a day and half except if i play games.. On gaming the battery drain fast fast it will not stay more than 7 hours with pubg and other games and sure not a continuous gaming i never did this... But on normal usage is great..

  • only one blackspot battery it have to be 4500 mah

  • Honestly i see only gaming eat the battery so so fast it last me a day and half with normal usage but with gaming it won't last more than 10-12 hours.. For video calling i have no idea i didn't used it but i think it consume more power than normal usage

  • Oh, that sounds very promising actually, after so many negative reviews regarding the battery of this model. May I ask you what kind of usage you have with your phone? I have many meetings along the day (every day), so you know, files and sheets opened on the phone, and screen on consuming battery... Constantly these meetings are in places where I won't have a plug to recharge it, or it would be inconvenient to do so. Plus, I do a lot of videocalls and that also demands usage of the phone. A powerbank (I've got one from Xiaomi some time ago) would probably solve the case but I would like not to depend on it. I currently use a Moto Z Play (first generation, love its screen), which has a good battery life for my needs.

  • I have it for 15 days now. I to use phone for work and at end of the day i have not under 40%

  • Cause 855 snap is based on 7nm process, so it is more effective and not waisting energy to heat

  • For everything, better processor, better camera and longer software support.

  • Dunno why this phone has 95h hours battery endurance rating while the battery mah is not large and the cell standby is very drainy. It has worse battery than my previous Mi Mix 2s which has 55h rating (whut the??). I wont believe in this site battery rating anymore..

  • Why Mi 9 over galaxy S9??

  • I believe in you, since Xiaomi have a huge amount of fanboys and that guy trying argue you appears to be one.

  • Ok

  • Sadly Mi9 isn't the best out there for low light capturing because of the absent of OIS, and this is just why Mi9 is not the perfect phone. Though no phone is the perfect phone but some are way out of the league of others.

  • *OpenGL

  • I had that problem. It is Vulcan api related. Open the game via play games app. It should start working after few tries. Then go to settings - advanced. And in graphics settings change api to open to. Game will require restart. Then it should work normally...

  • Yes it will limit damage of cables and the phone type c connector.. But yes you still need electricity and put it near socket

  • Sure mi 9..

  • Look bro.. Oppo reno is a midrange... Whatever.. The problem is in xiaomi camera app they need to work on it.. Try to download gcam and see the difference..

  • Yes

  • is the cameras from Sony like K20 Pro

  • I tend to disagree with you. I have the Oppo Reno and my brother in law has the Xiaomi Mi 9. While the Mi 9 can produce great images of landscapes (buildings, scenery, cars etc) outdoor, it doesn't do as good as the Reno when it comes to human subjects......especially indoors. Since most of the pictures I take is of my family and friends, I find the Reno's camera to be better.

  • Wow! Cool.. Thank you This means the phone will still have to be close to a socket and always be on the pad during wireless charging. It doesn't really make any difference.

  • I hope xiaomi expands to more african countries.

  • This one or samsung galaxy S9?? plz guide me i m confused.

  • It is like a pad.. There is a coil inside it and you connect your charger to it.. Then it will produce a magnetic field.. And the phone had inside it a coil too.. And you come and put this phone on the pad the coil inside the phone will catch the magnetic field to transform it to electricity.. And then charge your phone.. So wireless charger transform electricity to magnetic field and then phone transform magnetic field to electricity

  • Ok. Thank you. A friend who travelled for a four days visit in Dubai just bought the 6/128gb variant for me. Xiaomi not selling yet in my country (Nigeria). Also if you don't mind, would like for you to explain to me the operation of the wireless charging. I mean what does the accessories look like and how does it work with the phone.

  • You picked a mid-ranger over premium/high end. Also don't try compare both cameras, mi9 trump oppo reno in that aspect by far going by reviews carried out by known validators.

  • For me i prefer xiaomi anyway because there is no oppo with warranty here... And for me performance is very important.. And truly mi 9 camera is great.. If oppo reno camera is better i don't know.. But this don't mean that mi 9 had a bad camera

  • I'm having similar confusions like you. In the end I chose Oppo Reno: Oppo Reno pros: 1) 256GB storage 2) Headphone jack 3) Beautiful design with no camera hump 4) Bigger battery with VOOC charging (charger is provided in the box) 5) Color OS looks better than MIUI, atleast to me Mi 9 Pros: 1) Better performance 2) Supports Wireless Charging 3) Supports 27W Fast charging (but have to buy charger separately) 4) Has Wide Angle Camera I'm not a gamer so performance don't really matter. Camera and design is more important to me and so I chose Reno.

  • I have no idea.. Maybe they made 8 gb ram globally now? But before it wasn't and i got the 6 gb ram here in my country they don't have another

  • No you would buy it separately

  • You should see "xiaomi uae" on Facebook.. They have phone number and everything.. speak with them

  • I always last me a day easily

  • I've seen on websites like aliexpress that they have mi9 8GB global version! is this a kind of fraud?

  • mi 8 pro is 8 gb of ram

  • Willing to get this phone, it appeals to me in almost every aspect, but as to many, my concerns fall on its battery life. I don't use to play that much in phones (and when I do, only casual games, nothing heavy, maximum maybe an emulator of PSP?), but I do need to use it for work and studies, thus I need to use browsing and some social media, also videocalls and sometimes Youtube. Anyone could tell me how long would it endure before requestiing for a charge?

  • Also does it come with the wireless charging accessories?

  • Where can I get this phone in Dubai. What mall, market etc?

  • Need some help. Xiaomi Mi 9 or OPPO Reno?? Some reasons would be nice. Also this, OPPO guaranteed that Reno's motorized selfie cam can be used 200,000 times. That's 11 years if we assume we use the selfie cam 50 times/day. Crazy if it's true. But is it?? Wdyt?

  • Global version is only 6 gb ram.. Chinese 8 gb ram

  • Hello... I didn`t find at mi website that there is mi9 with 8GB RAM is this possible that the information here is wrong??

  • If the k20 pro is 8/256 vs mi 9 6/64 then.. Sure get k20 pro.. Mi 9 build quality is better and all but remember u can't use sd card.. So 64 gb is bad in this days

  • What is the SAR value of mi 9? Thanks

  • mi 9 6/64 or k20 pro 8/256? which one is better if those two have a same price?

  • From what I've read on xda - flashing Miui. EU gonna solve the Google pay issue as well as other issues.

  • Mi 9 sure.. Newest processor better camera and no crazy mechanical stuff and strongest build and overall better because everything is newer technology

  • Every phone in the world get warm and some get hot when making long call and your head get hot even your brain because that strong frequency of signal for that it is better to speak on earphone during long call for protecting your brain (forget about the phone and think about your brain bro).. Only if you are a fan of another company and speaking like that.. Then i don't care about that at all and go to the company that you like

  • Choose one, mix 3 vs mi 9, And gimme the reason

  • At the time of voice call upper side of the display got warm, for experiment I used 2 pcs feel same issue, shame China phone, I am sure if anybody try will face the same issue. If don't give basic satisfactions why u manufacture smart phone. First try basic phone

  • USB 2 is a poor choice nowadays, even more with 128GB and that price tag.

  • "Wireless charging is just a gimmick." - :D 20W world's nr.1 speed and it works. Who plugs cables in 2019? "Fingerprint sensor under screen is slow." - translate: Asus not able to bring fp to front. Nothing worse than have it in the back. Dead company like LG. "Battery is much, much smaller than the Zen." - it's pretty good battery life as we know "More space/thickness=better cooling." - poor argument again, mi9 is not hot "Software is heaps better for the Zen, with no ads, no bloat, and guranteed updates." - this one is true, but i enjoy fantastic AOSP with weekly updates "The Mi also lacks stereo speakers." - absolutely useless, who spends day playing audio loud? Mi9 wins easily. Add best performance, all QC and all QI formats, great price and you have nr.1 phone.

  • i have a xiaomi mi 9 and update it to miui 10.2.26.0. after this update macro mode on my device completly bad. when i shot on macro mode there is a lot of beauty effect and softness on final picture.anyone help?

  • This phone has sometimes drop in mobile data connectivity, software related. Must be fixed.

  • Hi bro, i use both phone (mi9 and K20 Pro) and i assure k20 is hype but if you want a device that is advance, go for mi9 wireless charging is also a must and the optimization of the battery of mi9 is superb than the k20 even if it's 4000mah

  • Hey guys, I'm based in UK. Owned the transparent version (256GB, 8GB memory). I'm experiencing issue with Google Pay as opposed to my Oneplus 5 phone. Has anyone experienced it? Any solution? After filling the blanks it says that the phone cannot be used....either the phone is altered or it is rooted. In my knowledge it's not rooted definitely. But, since this is an international version meaning it has a different ROM installed. Could that be the reason for that?

  • Anyone having a problem runing dream league soccer 2019 on Mi 9 Blackscreen from the start only the sound is working

  • Price of Mi 9 should have been added not One plus 7

  • mi 9 or redmi k20 pro ?

  • now i hava a mi 9 and i had a mi mix 2s just after half an hour compare i am so regretful dont buy it,if u had already a mi mix 2s cuase its not improvment camera is not better even with 3 lenzes juat just just front cam. the meterial when compare to mix 2s is like holding slippery in ur hand🤦🏻‍&#9794;️ im am so so so regretful and i didnt expect xiaomi to get worse that what they was im so disapointed

  • May i know which rom (global, eu, or china) are you using to review and benchmark the mi 9 please.

  • Yeah, man, everyone knows about himself. I respect your opinion too.

  • Also, it's your opinion/personal preference. I am just saying, and I respect your opinion.

  • DoXMark? That's just some random bullcrap benchmarking that people still believe in. Remember, benchmarks don't matter.

  • Is it normal for my Mi 9 to have red green and blue noise on dark areas using GCAM xtreme version? I am using marian xml and have unclicked and clicked noise parameters for each lens

  • global version will be optional as you can choose that you want them to share some ads to you or not (usually, indonesia version of xiaomi are global rom pre installed)

  • And this... "AMOLED is no different than IPS", I will not comment on. :D Good joke!

  • ASUS are good for laptops, their phones are not worth it. I will never buy ASUS phone. Personal opinion, I tried them once before and no more. Specifically Zenfone 6 is too big, too heavy, not confortable phone. And this motorized flip up camera is full of sh*t, don't like it at all. Whatever the Mi 9 camera is beter, look DoXMark tests. The performance is better too. What bloot and ads you talking about? Do you have Mi 9 or just talk? Mine has no such problems. It works super smooth and very fast. The wireless charging is not a gimmick, it's useful thing and very comfortable, I use it everyday at work. And even wireless charging is faster than regular Zenfone's wire charge, what remains for 27W wire turbo charge on Mi 9. So, the Zenfone's battery is bigger, but Mi 9's charge faster. At the end I take the Mi 9, personal preference.

  • Wireless charging is just a gimmick. Fingerprint sensor under screen is slow. Battery is much, much smaller than the Zen. More space/thickness=better cooling. Software is heaps better for the Zen, with no ads, no bloat, and guranteed updates. 1080p960fps is a thing that you're never going to use, I can ensure you that. AMOLED is no different than IPS, and IPS is better for the long-term side. At least you good selfies with the Zen. The Mi also lacks stereo speakers.

  • I pick Mi 9. I prefer AMOLED display and wireless charging (20W) to 3.5mm jack and SD card. Also the Mi 9 camera is better. I do not trust the motorized rotation cameras. How much lifetime they have? Nobody knows. And not only that, Mi 9 has telephoto camera and shoot 1080p@960fps video compare to Asus's 240fps only. And finaly 9.2mm "thickness" and 190g. for Zenfone 6, are you kiddin me? No, tnx!

  • Got a competitor on Zenfone 6 now just without the OLED screen but a lot in return.

  • If that's what you judge your phone's on then you're a narrow minded loser!! It's a great phone and it comes with an adaptor

  • No headphone jack... Garbage phone!

  • Mi 9 or S10 ?

  • Pop-up ads are only on Chinese and Indian versions. I'm whit Global (Europa) version and there's no ads at all. Yes, Mi 9 has some missing features like USB 3, SD card, 3.5mm jack, but it has more than enought for it's price. Number 1 at benchmark tests and TOP10 at DxOMark camera tests. Mi 9 beats smartphones that cost 1000$. No doubt, it is the best deal you can make right now. This phone is a beast!

  • what the hell mane, can be fixed though, you have more reading to do I think.

  • Bought xiaomi 9 month ago, full of bugs and that's why I switched from one ROM to another to find the best ROM, and didn't pay attention locked the device and bricked

  • Huawei was banned because of theft of personal data nothing to do with monopoly

  • 500USD? It's like $400

  • For what I know, Google can detect what phone you're using when you try to install a new application from playstore. With regards to the huawei phones which has android phones, it will still work butttttt will not be able to receive/download/update applications that's connected to google. So, yeah the best thing for now is for us to hope that the banning for huawei wont last or push thru..

  • What are you going to do with usb 3? Why you need it?

  • Very fast phone. Batery could be beter. Is the best buy.

  • A US $500 phone with many features but still on USB 2 - bad deal.

  • If I were you I'd wait until the Redmi K20 pro comes out. Because it's probably gonna be under that price. Or maybe just get something like the Meizu 16s, or if you have a slightly larger budget, the OnePlus 7 Pro. Really just anything with the Snapdragon 855 that you like the design of would be a good choice.

  • US banning of Huawei was not because of its smartphones but because of their 5G technology which they're 2 years ahead of the competition. Unfortunately, their smartphone business is eating up Samsung's and Apple's share of the world market. It's like hitting where it'll surely hurts.

  • Please suggest which mobile is better to buy under 2000 AED?

  • I had nova 2i too and I got the mi and now

  • I want suggestions among these..A) Mi9 B) V11Pro C) Oppo F11Pro Currently using huawei nova 2i & have to switch. Wanting a good camera & music phone

  • No xiaomi won't be affected Huawei was banned not because it make smartphones but because it is becoming a monopoly in the telecommunication and as we know us loves and support monopolies when they are american but always ban others

  • They can't remove google apps from huawei I think even after the ban you can still dowload the apk of google apps

  • This phone dwas already launched it costs 400-550$(it depends on the country)

  • Nothing to suggest they will at the moment. And also, existing Huawei phones will still work fine. The problem does not affect current owners. I'd like to know, can you still side load apps? The first Xiaomi I imported from China didn't have a Google license. I had to install Google Play on the side but after that it all worked seamlessly. Or will Huawei phones be specifically blocked?

  • Don't think so.. I own mi 9 anyway

  • do you guys think xiaomi and other china phones will be affected next with the Google issue that Huawei has right now ? planning to get xiaomi note 7 pro :) and I have Huawei nova 2i right now ..

  • Anyone can flash clean android custom rom on mi 9 too

  • Mine got 373173

  • jUST SEE THIS

  • oneplus

  • Mi 9 or oneplus 7?

  • Pixel 3 is not better in anyway.. Maybe only the clean android experience and the night sight.. Anyway download the gcam and u will get night shot

  • It is possible to disable all the recommendations in all the apps.. I did it and i didn't see ads anymore for 3 days now.. Hope it will continue like that.. Just inside every app you see ads.. Go to it settings and turn off recommendation everywhere u see it

  • Just don't use the MIUI built in apps then should be ok. I use Google Chrome browser, and Google Play Music. Folder apps recommendation can be disabled. I know, everyone want the best price per performance ratio smartphone, also want it's MIUI totally ads free, but no, you can't get the best of both world by default. I have bought up to 5 Xiaomi smartphone, I got no issue with these ads, only see them on the built in cleaner app. Only way to get rid off all these ads all together is installing custom ROM, which need to unlock bootloader, flash TWRP, then flash your choice of custom ROM.

  • Mi9 or mate 20 Pro if you play games on your phone especially PUBG both phones are excellent for PUBG forget about other phones.

  • Typical greedy customers comments that think technology is easy and free. Yes, you should be also go and scold much larger company such as Apple iPhone XS Max, Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, Huawei P30 Pro, and LG G8, these expensive flagship phone doesn't even bother to add 5G, since you know better than them that 5G is more than ready.

  • Mi 9

  • I have both the pixel 3 and the mi 9 64gb version you said you haven't seen any ads on your device I really wonder if that's true I also got the global version and there's ads everywhere. Mi 9 is a descent device good camera good hardware it just can't beat the pixel 3 even with the sd855 found in the mi 9. I have use many flagship device's from different manufacturers and from my experience with the device's I have use I can say pixel 3 Stan first OnePlus 6t (2) mate 20 pro (3) mi9 (4) I haven't used the p30 pro yet

  • literally half Samsung price, LOL. you need to get govt subsidy i guess.

  • Vibration not working when For outgoing call attending; Key pressing screen touching. I think only strong vibration - one with calls and notification only working. the low power vibrations not working at all. Any workaround or is this hardware??

  • Getting SD 855 at the moment for 350$ would be just a dream.

  • You need everything for free? Buy poco f1 in India.. This phone is extremely great and deserve every $

  • is that even a question, Mi 9 is the best amoung the 3, just blindly go for it, awesome phone.

  • May I know expensive compared to what? this is the cheapest phone with 855 snapdragon!

  • Absolutely one hundred percent certainly mi 9.

  • Can somebody help me to decide between these 3 phone a) Mi 9, b) A50, c) lg V40. I need good battery life, nfc and fast processor. Thanks

  • This phone expensive. It should be around 350$. Xiaomi starting to price their phones high

  • the best xiaomi phone ever

  • OIS is like 5G. Some people searching for it, and literally noone needs it.

  • no. it's got small white light, better than nothing (OnePlus), worse than Samsung. in AOSP i can define its behaviour, pulsing and speed for different apps.

  • Does this phone have a multi-colour LED notification light?

  • No OIS ? Seriously ?

  • y no card slot! it can't beat the flagship without it!

  • after comparing the mi 9 to p30 i decided to get the mi 9.. now after 5 days it seems great .. camera is great and cool just night mode need some work.. battery life is great...speaker sound and earphone sound are very good comparing to huawei.. screen is excellent .. performance is best haha i never saw pubg work this way on other phones.. miui 10 is just good for me maybe because i was a huawei user for a years and i got used to it.. and i didn't see any ads as they say.. it seems just in india?.. the quality seems great and i am a black colour fans... this piano black is great.. whatever i got the global version 6/128 for about 680$.. it is pretty expensive here but to be honest the phone deserve this price..

  • Typically SD card fanboy comment hope android get ride of SD card from android flagship lol.

  • If you’re going to use your phone for long run 4 to 5 yers go for iPhone.

  • Fun fact, the phone does have fully working SBAS support, just make sure you're in a supported region.

  • SD card soon going to be for cheap and mid range android phone.

  • Network is ready enough, they could have implemented both if they wanted to without basically any additional cost.

  • And nothing special about S9 and 6T both are outdated phones with outdated Soc.

  • Hope Xiaomi didn’t screw something with software or hardware and thanks for clarification cause I’m using tight soft plastic case.

  • Obviously is due to cost cutting, and also 5G network is not yet fully ready.

  • I've been using this phone for a few days and it's really, pretty sure one can't get anything better with the money for quite a while. I don't really miss the lack of SD-card slot and 3.5mm socket. In my opinion it's not worth paying 80€ more for just 64GB of storage, one can buy a large SSD with USB 3.0 case and get 8x as much storage which is way more portable. Worth mentioning Xiaomi has not implemented SBAS or at least those signals never appear.

  • Sometimes while using soft case. Seems that caused by accidently long press the power button which is quite sensitive IMHO

  • Nope.

  • I haven't noticed any, but I did deny a few of the "Recommendations" and tailored ads.

  • The chipset is capable of both 60GHz WiFi and 5G, why is it absolutely out of question?

  • A great velocity to dowload and upload where it can be used!

  • Spent a while with Mi9, it's all about flashing and hacking. MIUI is horrible and AOSP is buggy. Already thinking of giving up on fingerprint in the front and just switch to S9. Next time also buy a bit older phone. Like 6T which runs without any issue but haven't got QC and QI.

  • 5G is the future thing, but still not yet kick off. I still remember the hype for the first 4G smartphone that I bought, that said theoretically can achieve 100Mbit/s download, but in actual, it never achieve that kind of speed. Overall, it is faster than 3G, but it is just utilizing 2 to 3% of the max 4G speed, which make me wonder those theoretical speed are just fake marketing speed, where it doesn't really materialize in real situation. But from that point on, we start get smartphone that implement 4G as standard wireless broadband modem, more higher speed 4G modem is released each year, and also available on budget smartphone. So, just need to wait until 5G become common, also don't get too hyped with the technology, it might not as fast as you can imagine. Availability of 5G also is a problem.

  • not all country supports 5g whats the point of having 5g

  • Did anyone face restart issue with this phone?

  • I don't see it's cons being the real cons. The other missing features are due to cut cost, but even the Oneplus and Huawei flagship are also cutting the Micro SD slot and also 3.5mm jack, so it doesn't really are cons. No 5G also cannot say is cons, this is definitely not a 5G phone. If you really need to have all these features, pick the Samsung Galaxy S10, and LG G8, but these also not 5G phone, so you better beware of all cons, don't buy any smartphone if it don't have 5G.

  • It really depends. For starter, at my region, last year Xiaomi Mi8 and Oneplus 6 are not in the same price range. Oneplus 6 128GB price is already close to Samsung S9 Plus price. So, it really depend in which region the phone is sold. At the selling price of Oneplus 6, I would rather get a Samsung S9 Plus and seal the deal. At Xiaomi Mi8 price, it's direct competitor is ASUS Zenfone 5z. Then at slightly cheaper side on price of 64GB Xiaomi Mi8, can get a 128GB Pocophone F1. If you are talking about fans of Oxygen OS, then just pick Oneplus 7 without needing to compare the price, it won't come down to the price of Mi9.

  • Since Xiaomi Mi2, then the Xiaomi Mi Note series, there is no Micro SD slot for these flagship model. Oneplus flagship also doesn't has this slot either since the first Oneplus One. Huawei also start ditching the Micro SD, but they offer NM card slot, which is 3 to 4 times more expensive than Micro SD card, not a direct replacement solution either, your old Micro SD card cannot be used. Battery size is arguable, but only because last year Samsung Note 9 is doing with 4000mah, then you can now say this 3300mah battery is small, if not then this 3300mah is pretty respectable for a flagship phone. Previously on Samsung S9 Plus, and also Note 8 also having small battery like this, why don't you complain on that? If last year your country has Pocophone F1 and ASUS Zenfone 5z, then get these, which has proper Micro SD slot, and pricing of these is cheaper than Xiaomi Mi8. Get the right phone instead of complaining this phone don't has this and that, especially when you are complaining at budget flagship, which obviously due to cut cost, they omit these features.

  • It’s a no brainer. Mi 9 is better in almost every way apart from iOS if you prefer it. Better battery, camera just as good if not better, faster chip, more ram, won’t give up on your in a year. Order from aliexpress and pay for DHL shipping if you live outside china

  • Really disappointing that there's still no SD card slot. It's a big deal and the battery is a little small for such a big phone. 3300 or 3400 may is not enough. 64gb storage is again insufficient. I'm not a fan of virtual storage. I have a lot of videos, songs and pictures.i really need a minimum 128gb but with my pocophone F1, I have that plus a 256gb SD card. It's really annoying and completely impossible to understand this decision. I'll wait for the Lenovo Z6 pro to come down. Looks incredible. 4000mah battery and an expansion slot with a very impressive camera and a great amoled screen.

  • 3 days of usages So far so good Not the best perfomer But the best price to perfomance ratio

  • i want to settle with this phone but fps drops when playing heating 40c

  • Could you pls convince me that I should buy Mi 9 rather than iPhone 8 Plus? Thanks.

  • Better wait there are also oneplus 7 and redmi flagship they look interesting

  • Does this phone has ads menace inside in its settings ?!

  • best performance android phone...

  • Wait for Oneplus 7 and Oneplus 7 pro and decide later. Honestly, if you fancy oxygen os go for oneplus 6. If not xiaomi mi 9 is superior. Newer and better Soc.

  • I like some help is best to get the mi9, mi mix 3 or the mate 20? wait for the horror 20 or pro one?

  • Definetly the Mi 9, it's guaranteed to get at least one more update, definetly going to have aftermarket update support. Has newer chipset and better GPS (dual-frequency plus other systems). It's also cheaper. Though if you think a 3.5mm socket is a must-have then the O6 but in my opinion it's not worth the tradeoff in other areas.

  • Which one do you recommend mi 9 or OnePlus 6 and why?

  • After looking at all the phones available right now this is my opinion about the phone: Be aware of the cons this one has: * No HDMI (MHL) - Can't really be solved unless broadcasting * No 3.5mm - Can be solved with BT AptX HD receiver * No SD-Card slot - USB OTG can allow storage extension * USB 2.0 (but USB-C) - No fix possible * No 5G - No fix possible But keep in mind the positives: * Dual-channel GNSS * USB OTG * IR Blaster * Good camera * Good aftermarket possibilities * 500€ cheaper than the alternative that has the things listed above * WiFi 802.11ac * Under-screen FP scanner * Good chipset (best available currently)

  • mi 9 of course

  • I have just got a Mi 9 (128gb/6gb) two days ago in Singapore for SGD 699.00. The camera is great and the processor is fast too. It still runs cool when my old Oppo R9 pro gets very hot during gaming. However, Mi 9's pre-installed apps all have advertisement, including browser, music player or almost anything inside. I hope they don't drain my data flat from just popping up for any apps i used.

  • Mi 9 has better screen because of amoled

  • Both are good, but overall better for long run for sure iPhone 8 Plus and better screen.

  • Honor view 20 is better than nova 4 for the price except it does not have an amoled display. But i would go with the mi 9 because of the camera/processor/charging/dual band gps and in fact the price is lower than both of the nova 4 and view 20

  • Xiaomi Mi9 better or Huawei Nova 4 better or Honor View 20 better?? HELPP!! 😭

  • go for the mi 9 it looks high quality and the specs are good

  • Which do you recommend, Mi 9 or iPhone 8 plus? Why?

  • mi 9!!!!

  • Guys, i got a xiaomi Mi 8 6gb ram 256gb rom for $ 445.69 and a Mi 9 6gb ram and 128gb rom for $ 561.96, which do you think will be a better buy in 2019? thanks

  • Does this phone have support for bluetooth rSAP ?

  • Ear speaker heating issue

  • if we say about p30 pro so definitely p30 pro but! when talking about p30 : your option is: 1.Mi9 2.P30 3.V20

  • So I settled with the Mi9 in the end. Gave away OnePlus "Never Settle" 6T and Galaxy "Heavy brick" Note9. It's so hard to find a flagship phone, as i search for this in legendary Phone Finder: - water resistant = yes - SD card = yes (oops!) - RAM = >=6GB - wireless charging = yes - fingerprint = anywhere but NOT in the back - rootability and community support ! - decent battery ! - weight and looks ! Water resistant: all of them are SD card: Samsung only, but can live with it thanks to USB/USB-c micro flash RAM: is ok everywhere, OnePlus typically giving more Wireless charging: Unfortunately 6T ommited Qi 5W, 10W, 20W and also QC 2, 3 and 4. I'm NOT going to buy specific proprietary chargers and put them to home, car, office, parents house etc. No, i'm going to use the Qualcomm standard. Can't care less if they come up with 100W charger next time. Xiaomi is now not only fastest CPU/GPU pack, but also charging device. I wasn't sure but the Mi9 is backward compatible with all forementioned standards a the insane 20W charging is now standard too. Fingerprint: what stupid idea to put it in the back. That time is over. Now we got ugly notches... I actually would prefer S10E side button as on-display is NOT reliable yet. Rootability: Kudos to OnePlus! Easy and everything works afterwards. Extremelly annoying process for Xiaomi - terrible ROM, terrible unlock process, but all is working. I do recommend AOSP - far better. Samsung is not that easy anymore, S10 situation looks ugly and you WILL lose some functionality. Huawei etc is completely out of question here. Battery: Kudos to OnePlus, clear winner. But you can optimize Mi9 a lot. In the end achieved some extremely good results on wifi. Samsungs have alwas BAD battery. Weight and looks: Note9 has terrible weight, but kudos to S10E and S10 for keeping ideal 150g! 6T is heavy, Mi9 is acceptable. Mi9 looks sexiest, very nice thin body. Price: doesn't matter but hey, Mi9 is crazy cheap.

  • Mi9 (128gb), View 20 or p30 (not pro). Which one is better in term of camera, gaming and battery performance, it is very difficult for me to choose. Almost same price in my country.

  • P30 and P30 Pro screen aren’t better than mi9 since both screen comes with POE OLED panel plus video a lot better in mi9 even compare it to P30 Pro.

  • Advantages I want to point out with Mi9 over P30 is that Mi9 has wireless charging (I no longer use cable, I switched to wireless charging 2 years ago, and haven't gone back since, so if I was to buy a new phone, P30 wouldn't be considered), and the fact that huawei no longer unlocks bootloaders on their phones.

  • mmm yeah p30 but it + 200/250 euro ?? :) worth it ?

  • you are right .. sd 855 steal my mind too... for me the p30 is better in everything.. first we have huawei store here and their service is great.. xiaomi is not available here at all.. i worry about the warranty of xiaomi.. second xiaomi made it for 500$ .. why i should pay 700$? .. and p30 with 8 gb of ram this very important to me.. and everyone know huawei camera too... there is 3.5 mm jack too.. and about gaming i just play pubg that work fine on my mate 10 lite with 80k on antutu.. it will work great on kirin 980.. i think the sd 855 is just much power and not really need it for now with all this differences.. i like taking pictures but not video.. i will probably get the p30.. about s10e is more than 800$ .. so i will not.. and it is with exynos not sd 855... so not much difference between kirin 980 and the exynos..

  • These significant price increase on Mi9 would make me not buy Mi9 because this would make me think Xiaomi overpriced its phones in my country (For example, the 450€ Mi9 is 5000TRY while 680€ S10e is 5500TRY in Turkey. 150€ Note7 is 2200TRY. Therefore I will never buy a Xiaomi phone in my country as every Xiaomi phone is overpriced in my country just like these examples). Apart from my personal idea, P30 seems like the better option. P30 has a slightly bigger battery, better selfie camera (not important for my expectations) and the must-have headphone jack. On the other hand, EMUI is strict on the user and Huawei phones doesn't support Gcam. Kirin980 falls behind of SD855 especially on GPU (the differences wouldn't reflect on real life for now but the GPU superiority of SD855 may make SD855 better for long-term use.) You can consider G8 ThinQ and S10e, too.

  • P30 is better overall, i have mi 9, but in my country from official sources p30 is way more expensive. 750€ vs 500€ for the 6/128 versions.

  • I have no idea why the reviewers use only the same boring places where the photos were taken? I request that you guys should take any kinds of photos instead of boring buildings. Please!

  • If you are not a gamer get p30 or maybe wait and see oneplus 7

  • My bad. I meant to write yeah instead of nah

  • P30 8gb ram 128 gb and freebuds and car charger for 690$.. and mi 9 6gb ram 128 gb for 700$ in my country.. Help me.. Mi 9 is better in everything except camera and ram and maybe battery.. I am confused.. In other country mi 9 is for 510$... Give me your opinion guys... Kirin 980 is not strong as sd 855 but still very strong too

  • agree

  • Otherwise ok but WHY, NO 3.5mm jack audio, NO memory Card slot ??

  • What did i say?smh

  • Android and Instagram didn’t love each other unless if you’re using Pixel that use full camera resolution like iPhone.

  • Well its normal for android

  • good phone :)

  • Apple - Instagram Conspiracy hahaha

  • The camera is excellent BUT camera quality drops from 10 to zero when I post the videos on Instagram! How can I fix this?? Anyone else facing this issue.

  • Nope unless if there’s an update.

  • Guys does this phone overheat?

  • Yeah forget to mention something about camera mi9 camera support 4K@60fps and slow motion 1080@240,120 and 960fps mate 20 don’t support 4k@60fps or slow motion 1080@240fps.

  • This the water test of mi9 funny phone doesn’t has any IP rating and still handle water without issue!.

  • Thanks for the info. Yes, I'll be comparing it side by side with my Mate 20 as soon as it's available in the local stores. Ciao -,-

  • While it's not the prettiest phone in the world, it's not exactly ugly either, but it's a phone, not a bloody supermodel. As for being crap. It's not. End of. For the price, it's a great piece of hardware. Not sure what country you are in but a mi9 costs over 50% more then the Poco here in the UK, so comparisons between the two are not exactly relevant anyway.

  • What filter button do you mean camera filter? Nah just works fine.

  • Poco is an ugly crap phone.

  • How about the filter button? Kinda not responsive

  • Have tried checking the responsiveness of the filter button? Kinda lag and snappy

  • No headphone Jack, No Memory Slot. and battery is down to 3,300. ok im still good in my poco. but this phone is good for photography.

  • Audio quality aren’t bad at all only in video mode, but overall for one speaker mi9 better than one plus 6/6T. Screen bright enough to use under sun light. Camera really good despite lack of OIS I compare it to P30 Pro in still and photos with 48MP kinda more detailed than 40MP P30 Pro!. Overall performance very good and battery life for my daily use is excellent. Ps. Better you try the phone by yourself and compare to other phones.

  • I've been planning to get one of this. I've also watched a lot of reviews about this phone on youtube and one thing that I've noticed is the poor audio quality coming from the mic... to those who have the mi 9, what can you say about this?

  • For Mi 9 users, how do you rate this phone's performance in terms of audio, photography and battery back up?

  • Blackshark, it's more gaming oriented

  • Nah, it's likely. 3200 was bumped up to 3800 on the Mix 3

  • For gaming, Xiaomi Mi 9 or Black Shark 2?

  • I’m using mi9 and to be honest when it comes to battery life and overall performance it’s in par with the best. But i Agree with you about overall quality for sure iPhone, Samsung and Huawei way better cause these are biggest tech company in the world and they spend lot of money on R&D.

  • That can be fix easily through update. And what phone that doesn't have issues anyway? Even apple, sony and Huawei had issues with their flagship phones. Before I didn't even think of buying xiaomi phone but now looks like they're starting to gain consumer's trust and that's good for the company. And I also think in my own opinion that they're really improving that's why im getting their mi9. But then again when it comes to quality xiaomi is behind compare to other's that I have mentioned.

  • I have a feeling a 5G version will come out with bigger battery. Mybe not 4000mah, but bigger than 3300. Lioe what they did with mix 3. I am hoping though.

  • Even Samsung has issues with there latest devices first S10 5G connectives issue now most expensive Samsung phone galaxy food has big issue. Seems Samsung start to rush there phones due to the Chinese OEM’s pressure.

  • This device is Really interesting if only they make it 4,000 mah or higher in battery.

  • Try their flagship phones bro and you will know. I have note 4 and s7 and both still smooth. When it comes to quality I only trust apple, Samsung and sony.. LG? Nah!! Got one of their phone before who had bootlop issue and never again I will buy LG. What I am after with mi9 is the price and the latest snapdragon 855 with the adreno 640 which is good for gaming. The camera review is good enough since I only use camera to take pictures of my flowerhorn fish. lol.

  • poco F1

  • On telemart it is over priced.Xiaomi will officially release it in pakistan very shortly now

  • Samsung known only for their brand

  • The price of galaxy keep dropping every week now S10 and S10e are cheap compare to Huawei mate or P phones the S10e in the range of mi9 by the way, but mi9 still beat S10e easily when it comes to overall performance and battery life even better than S10 plus.

  • I am planning to buy mi9 because its cheaper compare to s9 if only I have extra money to buy for s9 or s10 ill diffinitely get Samsung latest and greatest.. Samsung is better in almost all aspect than xiaomi and you know that. They are cheaper than Samsung that's they're only edge. If Samsung S line up has the same price than xiaomi im pretty sure only few will buy xiaomi and other brand. But I will get mi9 soon.

  • Mi9 if you’re looking for overall performance, updates in time and better camera than one plus 6T in par with P30 Pro and P20 Pro as Dxomark scores.

  • It does has only EIS and it’s more stable than P30 Pro with OIS when it comes to video.

  • S9 is crap phone unless if you’re going to use S9 plus yeah both phones using super Amoled S9 and S9 plus more brighter , but it does have black crash issue when watching in movie or YouTube in lower brightness headphone jack and SD card all useless features that going to die soon especially SD card causing lot of issues for phones. Used S9 and S9 plus Exyons 9810 and now I’m using mi9 and it’s way powerful phone even compare to S10 Exyons 9820 and has really good camera only lack of OIS, but still manage to beat S9 and S9 plus camera Xdomark 107 behind P30 Pro and S10 plus.

  • Why this doesn't have gyro sensor and EIS?

  • I have poco f1 . So mi9 deserve to upgrade or not big different between them

  • The S9 has a better battery (it's optimized better so it lasts longer), Stereo speakers, FAAAAR superior screen, better cameras, Headphone jack, Memory expansion, better UI and software, better ecosystem, better aftersale support, no notch and better design

  • what is better on the s9 than on the mi 9 ? even update are less frequent, and support is way shorter you lose power battery camera screen size you only win curved bezels

  • Which one you think would be the best choice: Xiaomi Mi 9, Oneplus 6T or Huawei P20 pro ?

  • I have the international version 64GB, 6 gig of ram and still has ads and lot of bloatware.

  • there is adaptor inside the box

  • You must be talking about the Chinese version do not buy that you should by the Global version it is clean and perfect J like it more than Samsung or Iphone

  • spec monster!!

  • as i knew xiaomi is not good in this area that you looking for , i mean voice quality and specially mic quality

  • The AMOLED screen helps to save battery conversely the LCD screen, like in redmis

  • Stills on tele are sharper then from main camera, any opinion on this?

  • i don't like to use powerbank and it,s very difficult to carry. even powerbank easily damage your battery.

  • I need good call speeker and mic sound, is this phone enought good to make calls in car handsfree (with build spiker and mic)? I realy use that way

  • Hey I am thinking of purchasing this phone or mi mix 3 my only concern is the notch... but I am wondering if the notch will be annoying at all... Do you notice it much in daily usage or do you get used to it and start to ignore it?

  • Definitely a great phone. I was about to purchase mi mix 3 because of the notchless display but the time I held a Mi 9, just wow. Premium feel! Mix 3 is also great but a bit heavy and not comfortable for me to hold. Not to mention the camera is superb. Got the Global Version

  • How do you install it?

  • That means you have the distributor custom rom, not the original ron

  • No 3.5mm jack = no sale

  • Very small battery, no thanks.

  • MIUI 10 has a lot of bugs, bloatware, and advertisements

  • If you are not into playing games and cameras, go with mi mix 3. It's more beautiful and unique.

  • Can someone post raw files from Mi 9 camera? Or tell me where to get them? Would be nice with high contrast situations.

  • Just use gcam for the detail

  • Have you tried the normal 12MP and 48MP mode and compared them, could be that.

  • Hi dear friend, O wanted to buy one, but when u said your opinion about it's battery, I get disappointed. It's lack of OIS is very important, so it's camera images gets noisy. I thought about Huawei P20 pro, it's camera is very very good. At least better than mi 9 especially in dark mode. Of course mi 9 day time photos is better. I get confused 😔

  • Bought one two weeks ago. Impressed with battery and speed, but really disappointed with camera. You zoom a bit and quickly lose any detail. For instance, hair is always blurred. Anyone experiencing the same?

  • Definitely S9. It's only issue would be the battery though, as I've read.

  • Is it available in india?

  • I love Xiaomi phone. Battery is superb. But the power saver is too aggressive. They tend to shut down apps like Sport Tracker which required GPS to run in the backend.

  • well the only thing good in this phone is the price. lol.

  • I own the phone almost 3 days, and I am in love with it. Speed it superb no doubt. Many of the people that want to buy this phone are concerned about the battery and led notification light. To be honest the battery is not what I expected. It lasted me 6 hours with 28% left. It is super for that size of a battery. But it will last long after the next update because the MIUI 10.2.15 Global ROM has a battery draining issue. Camera the best I've seen so far. Just amazing. And it has notification light that has only one color, white. Screen amoung the best from Samsung so you will be surprised. In overall, the best phone for the price it has. It's just amazing phone. And believe it or not I think that it is better than S10+ and XS Max.

  • Hey guys, i have been wondering. Which one is better, the mi mix 3 or mi 9? Plz let me know your opinion

  • Buy them.. and compare

  • It has. It's on telemart.

  • Yes, very very very small on top edge of the phone. The light is a thin line white, really low, but still visible. Not as visible as Samsung S8 as it was my last smartphone.

  • Go for mi mix 3 camera, perforamance and battery is superb u won't regret it and it's so fast to charge 😁

  • nice phone. if only i can trust it. pass.

  • I have chosen mate 20X over others just for the 3.5 mm jack. Whatever the features you add if no 3.5 mm jack it's a no for me. At-least all manufactures will loose 1000 potential customers by omitting that.

  • Hi guys, I am can't make my mind which is better to buy, mi mix3 with its full screen, cool slider, OIS, wireless charger out of the box or mi9 with snapdragon 850, 3 rear cameras and better battery? Can you help me please?

  • To the person saying the Honor V20 has liquid cooling: by liquid cooling they refer to the vapour chamber inside the copper heatpipe. The Mi 9 has a similar heatpipe cooling solution I don't recall if it's a vapour chamber you'd have to check a teardown video on YT, look for JerryRigEverything. But the point is that the Mi 9 has a potent cooling solution and the phone does not throttle much, anything further than that has hardly any meaning. Snapdragon 855 is superior to the Kirin 980. Full stop. For most things they have parity but for DSP (if you read the specs and ignore Huawei's nonsense "AI" marketing), possibly ISP, but that is difficult to compare without having a phone with identical camera setup, and especially GPU, where the difference is significant, the S855 is simply better. The GPU is especially apparent, Snapdragon and Apple's Ax have always been much faster in that department. Kirin at best matches last year's Snapdragon, Exynos is hit or miss, altough this year it's on parity with S855's Adreno 640. Case in point: Kirin 980 barely catches up to the last year's Snapdragon 845 graphics performance.

  • But honor also have liquid cooling system but mi 9 dont have this...

  • Overall, Mi9 is both better and cheaper than Honor V20. First of all, Mi9 has a top-notch SuperAMOLED display rather than the IPS screen on V20. Then, SD845 is slightly better than Kirin980. Mi9 has 27W fast charging (Out of the box, there is a 18W adapter) which is faster than 22.5W (18W in China) fast charging of V20. When it comes to camera, Mi9 also has telephoto and ultra-wide sensors while V20 doesn't. If you like, V20 has a punch hole on display rather than a notch. On the other hand, V20 has a headphone jack, bigger battery and ToF camera.

  • Thanks

  • I really want to know which is better mi 9 or galaxy S9?

  • Sir, Please give me a honest suggestion.... Which phone is better with overall spec fight... Honor v20 or xiami mi 9? Please sir give me a honest suggest..🙏🙏🙏

  • Riht now in my country f1 is in half price of mi9. What you think, is mi9 worth it?

  • so mi9 is sitting on the shelf, waiting for unlock or return to seller if it doesn't come. compared to 6T is offers quite a lot of advantages: ultra fast face unlock, fast fingerprint unlock (both much better than 6t), led light, QC, QI and the CPU. it's lighter and slimmer, looks not bulky at all.. that's why i'm curious to see it in action. let's see.

  • plzzzzzz launching in Pakistan

  • Does it show applicaions' notifications at the notification bar?

  • I bought $569 (Global version 6G ram and 128) in Cambodia. I think if you order from Ali might be cheaper.

  • Yes it surely has. It is on the top right corner.

  • Hi Dear, I fully charge it in the morning and leave to work at 8am, I back home from work around 7pm (so roughly around 9 to 10 hours usage) and it still remaining abt 30% of battery. Note: No play game, I use for whatapp, facebook, google search. I think MI 9 is very good to recommend to other user.

  • Please tell me how many hours you can get from it? I mean screen on time

  • It should and even if it didnt, it dont have to be a big problem if you are mining in big city

  • The Mi 8 did so the Mi 9 surely should

  • No image stabilisation?

  • xiaomi mi 9 have notification light.? plz conform . i will bye this phone.. thanks in advance

  • The s9 is cheper in my country

  • Guys if anyone got it in Europe I wanna ask something, does the Global version support 4G+ in EU? please someone answer as this concern a lot of people from EU.

  • This device deserves every dollar, Best Mobile phone ever :)

  • Definetly Mi9, it is way cheaper and the quality is equal and even better...

  • I think, Mi9 is the better option according to your priorities. Mi9 is better than S9+ when it comes to performance and chipset efficiency. The display quality of the these two phones are the same, excellent as they both have SuperAMOLED panels. If you like curved displays, you can go for S9+. The greater resolution of S9+ isn't a superiority as 300ppi and above is enough for a crisp and sharp display. In fact, higher screen resolution means more energy consumption. Actually, Samsung sets the resolution to FHD by default on S9 and S9+. One thing that may be annoying on Mi9 is the notch. While watching videos, the notch will cut the content on the screen or you will have to make the content smaller to able to get rid of the notch cutout. In addition to that, Mi9 lacks expandable storage and headphone jack. But as you wrote, you can use wireless headphones. Assuming the 64GB storage will be enough, you can ignore lack of expansion slot. Mi9 is on par with (maybe better than) S9+ on battery endurance because of its more efficient chipset although having a slightly smaller battery. The camera performance of these two are on par. Mi9 stands out with a triple camera setup and a 48MP main shooter with 0.8qm pixels. On S9+, both the camera lenses have OIS and the main shooter has a variable aperture technology and 14qm pixels. In my opinion, 48MP resolution is a marketing strategy. Because, a 48MP sensor with 0.8qm pixels is equal to a 12MP sensor with 1.6qm pixels. As S9+ has 1.4qm pixels, the 1.6qm pixels of Mi9 isn't a huge difference. OIS considerably improves the low-light photography. Mi9 supports 27W fast charging which is much better than the 15W fast charging on S9 and S9+. In my opinion, water and dust resistance is exaggerated and more of a marketing strategy. For example, none of the companies accept responsibiity in case of failures related to liquid leak.

  • aproximately 510 64gb and 550 128gb

  • Hello, I am choosing between Mi 9 and S9 or S9+. I'm not really sure which one is the one. Mi 9 has IMO the better camera, but I am an expert on mobile camera so I dont know, but S9 does not have that triple camera setup. Mi 9 have superior performance and here in Czech rep. the S9 sells just with the slower Exynos 9810. The displays seem to be similar, but S9 has greater resolution. I like how Mi 9 looks and have "neutral" opinion on the S9 looks, it has some nearly 3 yr old design from the S8. Either of those phones has not so great battery 3300 for Mi9 and 3000 for S9 with even less efficient chipset. S9 has some nice features which the Mi 9 is lacking such as Waterproofing and Stereo speakers + 3.5mm jack (I already have wireless headphones so this is not a problem for me anymore). The pricing is basically the same on Mi9 64GB as on the S9 64GB here in Czechia. And the S9+ is priced similary as the 128GB version of Mi 9, but I dont like the size and feel of S9+, which I tried in store. Didn't try Mi 9 yet. I watch a lot of YT on my phone and I am also looking for some performance and camera quality. Also want my phone to be as future proof as possible. What do you think

  • No card slot and handset jack

  • No stereo speaker is acceptable, but no OIS for this price range is totally not acceptable. Better choose cmi 8 instead for photography.

  • mOLED and super mOLED has little difference super mOLED also attached some extra sensers in it. I just read it somewhere.

  • so the unlocking process is snitching more and more. even the PC app calls home, and unlocking fails because you dont have phone number added to their account. omg this is so bad. once i fake all my private data, i will then GDPR-ask them to remove it.

  • looking for note9 replacement (too heavy). testing mi 9 after returning 6t once mi 9 hit the stores featuring QC4+ and QI Ultra (at least something for samsung users). i root device without ever booting original ROM, quickly protecting stuff with XPrivacy. but this is not possible here. this xiaomi phone is very privacy invasive. it sticks their account onto you, stealing all important data like IMEI,IMSI and wants to touch contacts, call logs, calendar, and then even wants to confirm the holy phone number by SMS! That is something i dont give away to any app (but IMSI is equally terrible) and is permanently hidden even without root. These chinese snitches want it straight away. And then you have to wait 2 weeks (to expire the 2 weeks return period) to get unlock? so i am operating in covert mode now, putting different person SIM card, swiftly disabling Find my device and Cloud, hoping unlock will be still possible. when it's over will rip xiaomi stuff off the phone. some first thoughts: very fast face unlock but not working in low light - they dont light up the screen to help (Note9 couldn't recognize face in dark even with infra); fingerprint is fine, not so fast but completely acceptable however many 1st attempts dont work and have to release the finger and place it back; battery is dropping fastw/out sim card, hopefully this is not a sign of future drain; slim and light for 6.4; lot of gestures; very complex settings; Pie gestures again modified, every manufacturer seems to corrupt the basic concept; it's fast and snappy, +75% OS benchmark vs Note9 can be felt; love DXOMark on this; screen looks uniform and bright as hell, just like on samsungs needs just very low brightness in room; etc

  • Where can I buy it in the us

  • How about The Pric??

  • I brought MI9 about a week now. I really love it. the OS in MI9 is great. Camera is perfect on taking picture. Before, I worry about the battery of 3300 mah, but after use about a week, the battery is very good. Full charge could be use the whole day and still remain around 30%. I recommend MI9.

  • No stereo speakers OMG

  • no headset jack? omg

  • Battery 3300 is not the problem, but No card slot is a little bit problem for me to consider use Mi9.

  • No card slot ??? Omg!!!

  • Not a 4000mAh, more like a 3700mAh.

  • It may be only 3300 mah but the software optimisation and the efficient snapdragon 855 make it have basicaly the same performance as a 4000 mah phone.

  • You have youtube full of videos about battery drain.... Its not far behind S10+ maybe 10-20 minutes, leave Note 9 in dust. 3300mah is just numbers, you can't say is bad if your phone has bad battery life. Inform first than write... Watch videos than write. Stop doing stupid things, this phone is half the price of other flagships you can't expect everything that other flagships have. They made awesome job, camera is awsome, got fast charging (27W), fastest wireless charging (20W), pretty good display, fingerprint under display, SD855, memory is pretty big, no need for MicroSD, you just pay little more for bigger size memory, it will be still 300-400$ cheaper than other flagships, it have awesome EIS, INFORMMM MORE THAN COMMENT

  • 3300 mAh is not enough now a days....disappointed

  • Thanks a lot for clarification

  • AMOLED will be just AMOLED, anything add on on the screen name are just marketing. Super AMOLED, Dynamic AMOLED, Optic AMOLED, are just marketing term, all are AMOLED. But the subpixel arrangement of Samsung's AMOLED and other brands AMOLED does differ slightly. There are also speculation saying Samsung's AMOLED screen are higher quality than others in term of brightness and color.

  • Does MI 9 has Dynamic AMOLED screen ?

  • As long as it is equipped with flagship processor, then it is actually long lasting regardless of brand. Honest comparison is, Huawei Mate 20 Pro is the fully featured smartphone, almost as good as Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. Xiaomi Mi9 is the budget flagship of 2019, which cut corners on many thing. Of course from day to day normal usage, both are good in performance. The price difference only made sense for extra features. Huawei Mate 20 Pro has IP68 rating, reverse wireless charging, 40W fast charging, maybe better camera, bigger battery size, curve screen, 2K resolution, support USB type C to HDMI.

  • Lacks 3.5mm jack. Am a bit of a diehard but I still tend towards those OEMs who keep the 3.5mm jack. While BT is adequate, having to use adapters, or find a pair of USB-C earbuds, is a big takeaway for me. Although the cost would rise, I would like to see Xiaomi use higher resolution display for its flagship(s) and higher-end devices. (personal preference). Additionally prefer IPS over OLED but those days are waning. Not a MIUI aficionado but fortunately Xiaomi has toned down the iOS type mimicking. I'd rather see a more straightforward Android but unless you go with a Google Pixel you're stuck with OEM's adaptation. Cool photo sensor setup (triple-rear, 20mp front) with 1080p 960fps slow-mo vid. Overall, decent specs for a SD855 device at a cost far lower than the competition. And Xiaomi tends to be more open about BL unlocking.

  • Actually it has EIS. It's just not listed here in the specs. There is no OIS, however, used to stabilize in low-light photos which, may or may not, be an issue depending on the overall camera sensors/image processing setup. Of course, EIS provides stability during videography.

  • Worth noting that navigation gestures (specifically 'swipe from the edge') conflict with hamburger-menu sidebars on the left side of some applications (you have to reach to the upper part of the screen to slide it out instead of performing a gesture - super uncomfortable) and swiping keyboards (e.g. GBoard - closes the text entry when you try to swipe the text starting from the letter on either side).

  • It`s not year 2007 that phones are not stable and "accurate" :)

  • This is n

  • I know but these specs for both phone are truley great but what I need is a performance and long lasting phone can stay with me for year or so. Unfortunately I dont like samsung :/ from the very begining and I am not feeling ok with them. I have no terms in budget as long as I will get a great phone

  • Confused because I dont know nothing about android which brand is stable and accurate and long lasting

  • battery life test result changed!!!

  • Please ignore these comments. For someone who switch from Apple iPhone to the environment of Android OS, it is really hard to recommend, because the recommendations might be exactly what you don't expected. So, set your budget, then go with the highest end Android smarthphone that is within your budget, it is not just limit to Huawei Mate 20 Pro and Xiaomi Mi9, there are Samsung Galaxy S10 as well, there are more to come. Only you choose one and experience yourself can explain the experience. Honestly I have no issues with both choices, but it is different from user to user.

  • Go for Huawei there phones are durable.

  • Why you confused? 2 different phones by 2 different companies

  • Bro I'm using it for one week. Though the battery is lower than others. But I'm getting 7 hours SOT. U shouldn't worry about that.

  • My most concern is the battery mi9. Can it long lasting like huawei mate 20 or mate 20 pro?

  • If u want fast charge, great performance and long lasting battery choose mate 20 pro. If u low on budget choose xiaomi. Xiaomi phone is for ppl that couldnt afford for expensive phone

  • If p30 still using kirin 980 7nm then mi 9 is the champion

  • I am a apple user for the last 6 years and now after the over priced that apple provides for the phones I decided to switch to Android but here is the problem, I confused between Xiaomi Mi9 and Mate 20 pro. So I asking if anyone tell me which is better ? I read all the specs and prons and cons but I need someone is a familiar with android as I need a phone like iPhone in performance and long lasting ( However I know nothing could be compared with iPhone ) Thanks everyone.

  • Remember back when tech world is hyping with 4G before, and look what current 4G's real condition now? 4G does faster than 3G, but not until super fast like mentioned in the theoretical max speed. Wireless technology advertised max speed is the most unreliable specs ever mentioned. I believe 5G will be faster than 4G as well, it is good to have, but it is still not officially launched, even at first world. Patiently wait this technology become matured rather than want to have all phone release from now support it. In future there will be much faster 5G+, 5G Advance, or 5.5G, 5.75G, all these advertising term.

  • camera have no stabilization so sad

  • Xiaomi Mi9 is it the flagship phone for Xiaomi? And will be able to live up to the upcoming Huawei p30 pro?

  • It has an IR blaster

  • Honor magic 2 or mi 9?reason?

  • mate 20: For Jack / Sound / Mi9 for: Amoled screen / games /

  • this is the true flagship killer not oneplus

  • why no barometer sensor?

  • Sorry, typo, I mean Huawei Mate 20 Pro, Samsung Galaxy S10, P30 also are not launch with 5G. Then, bunch of overexpecting people does hate that this phone is not launched with 5G. That is why I advise don't buy any 2019 smartphones that doesn't support 5G, including all the big brand. Please respect what Xiaomi can offer.

  • Mate 20 or Mi 9? both are for the same price in my country ( i care about a good battery life coming from a s6 edge...)

  • What 5G will bring you? 4k streaming video on a 6.4 inch screen? where is 5G available? unless you live in a large city.... nowhere

  • Then compare Mate 10 launching price and Mi8 launching price before you say Mate 10 4000mah is so much better. It just means like more expensive gadget always is better equipped, more satisfying for to buyer who willing to spend more.

  • Go and buy Sammy, the expensive phone that you can buy, that solve your issue with 4000mah battery.

  • Even Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus, and Huawei Mate 20 Pro are launched with 5G. You should skip all 2019 smartphones that doesn't support 5G, go condemn all these big brand before crying at Xiaomi.

  • Extra $50 can add all these? You really is naive, greedy. It might add $200, something closing to the price of Huawei Mate 20 Pro. At that time you will complaint expensive, and top up $200 more to buy Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus.

  • Xiaomi should have gone all out and offered waterproofing, audio port, stereo speakers, microSD slot and optical stabilization. An extra 50$ wouldn't have hurt the customers. It missed the mark this year.

  • Mi9 or mix 3 5g? And why?

  • Mi9 or view20??

  • That's not completly true. You can unlock the bootloader via PC and huawei service program, but it's payed. I can unlock any model.

  • Lack of OIS shouldn't be a big issue but OIS has a noticeable effect on camera qualty. For example, you accidently moved your phone while taking a photo therefore captured a blurry and unclear photo. OIS solves that issue by simply putting the camera sensor in a moving platform (You can easily see this by watching some jerryrigeverything disassemble videos). If your phone moves during a shot, the moving platform attached to the sensor moves, not the sensor. In other words , OIS keeps the sensor stationary, so the sensor stays focused and making the footage clear. Also, OIS improves low light performance of the camera sensor.

  • it has VCM

  • apparently that extra 700 mah costs way too much

  • Well said I don't know what the heck is going on with their people's but 4000 should be the ultimate for regardless if it doesn't have IP68. Even Sammy is putting 4000 and even a 5000mah battery in their phones

  • MI 9 Lack of OIS in camera, i wonder this flagship phone still can better good photo and video ?

  • They can put 4000Mah in redmi phones from 5-6 years ago but cant in their flagship?? It's like main pillar in choosing my phone?? I know they getting a good hours and all but why not do it on better battery to crush competition??

  • where to buy this phone? can any one suggest?

  • *spelling mistake. Does mi9 has better battery efficiency over honor magic 2?or honor magic is the better?

  • Low resolution phone so battery life is good

  • GSMA battery endurance ratings for flagships: Note 9: 97 hours Mi 9: 95 S10+: 91 OnePlus 6T: 90 Oppo Find X: 90 Sony XZ3: 90 Huawei P20 Pro: 89 Mate 20 Pro: 85 Mi Mix 3: 84 vivo NEX dual display: 81 iPhone Xs Max: 79 iPhone Xs: 72 Google Pixel 3: 69 LG V40: 64 HTC U12+: 64

  • From the store

  • 3300 bettery life this know in 2014 my mate 10 is 4000 and he is 2017

  • We don't know if Nano Memory cards automatically read on any dual-SIM device. Unless there are drivers that allow for it, you can't put Nano-Memory cards on ANY device and expect it to work. As for that Amazon link, that's only if the phone is already a Hybrid Dual-SIM; to which this one is not.

  • Bro, you know not a lot of people care to carry a bulky powerbank with them. Defeats the purpose of a 'long-lasting' battery if they have to charge it twice a day.

  • For better image quality and battery huawei p20 pro but for better video quality, perfomance and bang for bugs mi 9.Verdict xiaomi mi9

  • where can i buy the 8/128 gb with 27w charger?

  • Bro you know what their is a device knowns as powerbank use it.

  • Honestly, neither. Both have no OIS and microSD. Out of the two Xiaomi is better, newer processor, better videos. No 3,5mm though

  • For those of you complaining about the lack of sd card, just go with a nano-sim to sd card converter as seen in the following links... you can thank me later... Or for those pesky iphone users:

  • So this is confirmed to have dual gps? The S10/S10+ doesn't seem to have the dual gps despite coming with the SD855.

  • Mi9 or Huawei P20 Pro ???

  • 3300 mah? nah ... terrible idea in 2019.

  • I use the Mi9 for a week now. I does have Alwy on Display B&W or in color. It also have a notification led but not RGB, so it's white ans it just blink when you have a notification. (Also have IR sensor so you can control TVs ans stuff)

  • nova4 or mi9 which one you choose & why?

  • and it will suck and you know it calling it now

  • IMX586 can paired with OIS, the coming Meizu 16S will have IMX 586 with OIS

  • In my opinion, S9+ is better. S9+ has two advantages over Mi9. These advantages of S9+ are OIS on both telephoto and main cameras and variable aperture technology on the main camera. Main camera aperture can be adjusted to f1.5 or f2.4 automatically (depending on the amount of light) or by the user. On the other hand, Mi9 has a 48MP sensor with Quad Bayer technology which converts four 0.8qm pixels into a 1.6qm pixel and this creates better quality and more detailed 12MP photos compared to a regular 12MP camera. Keep in mind that 48MP photos have too big sizes and noticeably worse quality than 12MP photos with pixel binning By the way, S9+ has 1.4qm pixels on the main camera. When it comes to Mi9, it stands out with its third ultra-wide camera.

  • Yes, miles ahead.

  • S9+ has better camera

  • Sony IMX 586 can't be paired with OIS. This is sony's fault, not xiaomi's.

  • I think no S 10 the best camera in this price

  • Do you think that Mi 9 has better camera than S9+?

  • OIS u mean?

  • Bro, here's what I understand about Xiaomi's move: -Headphone jack removal has something to do with minimizing the bezel of the phone, more like a design factor. -Lack of SD card is an unreasonable omission on their part. I don't understand them on that matter. -Lack of OIS is quite reasonable too bcos of the large sensor. Its costly to implement OIS on those large sensors. -Lack of Stereo speakers if quite reasonable for flagship killers, not really a deal breaker. -The battery is also quite a performer despite the small capacity. The 7nm chipset does the magic there. To conclude, Xiaomi made a gamble here on what features to omit and what features to have. This is the first time they implement a triple-camera setup. It surely has a hefty cost leading to the removal of OIS on the main sensor. The wireless charging, NFC, and SD855 are also costly which may lead to increased retail prices.. so they decided to take away some features to maintain the retail price level of the device.

  • Yes, but only electronic. Not the same with OIS and does not work with 4k 60 fps. It's a big downgrade from Xiaomi but I think they made a reasonable decision there in keeping the costs down. It's hard to put OIS in large sensors, especially this IMX 586 which is a half-inch sensor. They cut in the OIS to give us an Ultra wide on top of the telephoto. They also make up for the lack of OIS with the Closed-loop VCM tech that they employ on the main camera. But it honestly did only little help to stabilization. Overall, it has still good camera(for photo and video) with quality only trailing after Mate 20 and S10+.

  • does this mi9 has video stabilization?bcz i saw some video from youtube when recording and walking the camera moves.

  • Well, yes. But that's about it, only the battery. I dont really trust Vivo and Oppo with their products, they're just good at marketing. They dont make that durable products and they also do charge hefty prices. Though, their sub-brand Oneplus is really great, the Realme brand is just much more samsung in terms of price-to-features/specs (try looking at the M series). If you are really into chinese phones, just go for Xiaomi/Oneplus(for budget-friendly) or Huawei(for high-end). Those are only the real options.

  • see this whole youtube video .https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BopAMFIr3A

  • i saw from youtube video using 27 watt charger .and the charging time is 1 hour and 4 min to 100%.it takes quite long compare to mate 9 pro 22.5watt

  • 3300mah doesn't matter. I was getting 9 hours screen on time with the Mi Mix 3 which has 3200mah and less efficient processor

  • The China version comes with the 27W

  • the box does not include 27 watt charger. the charge that comes in box is 18 watt fast charger and the timing of charging displayed here is for 18 watt charger. you would have to buy 27 watt charger separately.

  • I don't understand why Xiaomi avoids including headphone jack and SD card slot. It shouldn't be difficult for Xiaomi to include these things in its flagships as its entry level and most of midrange devices include these. Except lack of these two features, it has all the features that a true flagship needs to have; it has an excellent OLED screen, great building quality, top-notch SD855 chipset and triple camera setup capable of taking great photos (There is no OIS, though) with a pretty cheap price, unlike the other flagships. The main shortcomings are lack of OIS on none of the cameras and lack of stereo speakers. A slightly bigger battery would be better, too. In my opinion, water and dust resistance isn't very important unless you are very careless; every phone can handle some drops. Also, phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 6 on the front and Gorilla Glass 5 on the back.

  • There is wrong information about 27watt charger.u see huawei mate 9 pro have 4000mah 22.5watt .mate 9 pro reaches 90% in one hour which is more than 3300mah charged. Why mi9 charger takes so long to get full which is about one hour and mi9 has the highest watt charger)?can someone explain this)?why does it takes so long to charge full mi9?

  • How about vivo iqoo? I think this phone beats mi9 in battery terms

  • It have amoled display, three cameras, sd 855, great gameing power, good sound quality, netfilx, amazon prime but without battery everything nothing. When i go out side home or traveling, what will be happan. We can not caputer photo video freely, because of low mah. always think about battery. I think it shoud be avoid. Battery like human life.

  • Wireless u r shame

  • i prefer xiaomi after pixel

  • No headphone jack and only 3400mah? Shame.

  • Mi 9 for bigger screen , battery ,performance , ir baster and triple camera While s9 for some more features like micro sd , headphone jack , ip 68 and 2k display Just buy the specs you care about more

  • mi9 or op6t please help me, i heard there is no camera ois in mi9

  • Mi 9 or S9?

  • Almost perfect phone. if only the battery over 4000mah

  • Does mi 9 se has global version?

  • It's already available in China. You can even order thru Lazada.

  • Mi 9 or View 20? -,-

  • This is awesome price for such a powerful phone.

  • Mi make this phone available to India. This will be deal breaker on this price segment and gr8 vs to op6T , v20 pro

  • unfortunately 3300 mah and price are worst.

  • low battery

  • cmon we can do better than dis mix 3 yu no uno

  • I want this phone for 200$

  • I think that some well known reviewers get phones much before the actual launch. This way they can review the phone and post the review online on the launch date.

  • Yes, I think it has an all-white led at the bottom. Not sure.

  • Small battery? It has the same endurance rating as your favorite S10+. Mi 9 even has an excellent charging speeds compared to Samsung's super slow charging. For the camera, you cannot call it a bad camera when its trailing next to Mate 20 and S10+ in the quality. It's the 3rd best camera you have there and the best video camera for a phone. I dont know how can you call it a bad camera when it places 3rd in quality. Not everyone needed an IP rating. We just need the phone to be durable to withstand drops. Just my 2 cents dude. It's the best phone for its price and is battling with phones double its price. That's a deal breaker there.

  • You probably didn't know about WiFi6 till S10 came out... What are you all talking about??????? Look at price 450$ and top notch specs

  • Who tf need FM in the smart phone. What is wrong with you people.

  • Most top smartphones doesn't have a fm radio because almost nobody uses that anymore Battery life endurance rating 91h, which is great From gsmarena review: Excellent battery life, 27W wired and 20W wireless charging Top-notch camera quality, versatile skills And don't forget that the phones that you are comparing the camera quality with have at least double price.

  • There is no microSD card, no 3.5 mm jack, no FM radio, and weak battery ? No, this is not Apple ! This is simply a castrated Xiaomi !

  • no 32-bit/384kHz audio, no Wi-Fi 802.11ax wifi6, no Card slot, no 3.5mm jack, no Radio FM RDS.

  • 2160p@30/60fps

  • record in k4?

  • - No IP68 - No FM radio - Small battery - bad camera ( vs Samsung, Pixel, Huawei ) - No DEX options

  • Will UD reader work with a screen protector ?

  • can someone explain to me please, how is it possible that this phone already has battery endurance rating if it was not released yet?

  • well xiaomi's mission is to make technology accessible to all if nothing you can expect great prices from xiaomi.

  • 400 euro is too cheap for the new chip

  • x1

  • does this phone have notification led ?

  • Most phone brand (like Huawei) uses AIE which uses the AI to stabilize the picture and video itself. But OIS are way better than AIE

  • There isn't any OIS in any camera, I'm not so confident in the camera afterall if there's no OIS.

  • Just for saying: more free RAM doesn't mean it has a more optimized software. Indeed any Software engineer has the target to use all the capable resources for running a better system. See iOS and their RAM management system. You're welcome.

  • I don't understand all that hype for a Oneplus. All their smartphones are in the exact same level of any Xiaomi flagship and definitely they aren't belonging to the premium(ish) fascia. Given the rom, which for me is only a personal taste, the quality of both is really similar with a smaller edge by Xiaomi on the camera department.

  • edit: it does.

  • No 5G.

  • Don't. Doesn't make sense at all.

  • Nice phone, I got adapter cable for charging and audio, so not a problem to me. Will be buying from aliexpress maybe in Aug 2019 when prices are lower a bit.

  • Does mi 9 se has global version?

  • Will this phone be available in India.

  • Some people have to take that few pictures under the swimming pool!!

  • Does this phone have Notification led ? Nobody all over the world :-) didnt mention that .

  • As Redmi has become a separate line, the Redmi phone would focus making cheap price phone while xiaomi would go for making luxury phone. Put don't worry, cheap flagship is coming as Redmi has confirmed they will produce 855 phone in the near future

  • I wish Mi would have waterproof phones in the near future I try to keep my phone safe, but unfortunately I work at a pool and accidents do happen sometimes. Its not mandatory but its nice if Mi have this additional feature.

  • thes best

  • I actually thought the upcoming flagships would be so expensive. But i am surprised that chinese flagships like mi 9, honor v20 and lenovo z5 pro gt which all come with the latest flagship processors start at a price of cny3000-3500 which is roughly 450-520$. How is this even possible when iphone xr and samsung s10e costs about 750$.

  • What do you people who require waterproofing do with your phones? I've used mobiles for nearly 17 years and I've never lost a phone due to water damage. I spilled liquids on them, I handled them with wet hands, I used them in strong rain, I dropped at least one in a big puddle... Most of them were devices with easily removable plastic back covers, so really little in terms of waterproofing and they all survived until they were obsolete (or dropped one time too many). I don't use them in the shower and when I go swimming and I don't dunk them in the toilet, though, so if you're into that, then you probably do need proper waterproofing. BTW, with devices with IP ratings, the manufacturer doesn't guarantee you that it will survive submersion, so the whole thing is a little moot. Xiaomi, on the other hand, doesn't get their devices certified (possibly also as a cost cutting measure, as the certification itself costs money), but does try to make their devices reasonably watertight. So an IP rating would be a "nice to have", but I don't see a rational reason to make it a "must have".

  • Mi 9's design is awesome

  • No waterproofing, no deal.

  • better mi9 bro

  • poco f2

  • I'd wait it out until the Umidigi S3 Pro drops

  • Oh indeed Mi 9 is much better than Pocco F1 in terms of camera and performance. The 7 nanometer Chipset Snapdragon 855 is more powerful than the 10 nanometer 845 in the Pocco F1. Again the camera in triple cameras in this phone the DXOmark ratings rate it the third best phone camera ever behind Mate 20 pro and P20 pro. But it is the very best topping every phone in terms of video. Make a research on that. I really want to have one because of the camera.

  • Should i go for f1 or wait mi9?

  • Why 2.0 type C USB?? i am still waiting for 3.1 or 3.0 disappointed

  • Yes, it works.

  • Samsung Note 7 had nice big battery too.

  • That's trash, has no FM radio, no slot for SD cards & most importantly no 3.5 mm headphone jack. Why are these essential, basic features of a phone been omitted? Ridiculous

  • A budget flagship should contain a budget memory expension, that is SD card slot. Iphones don't need card slot because only rich people and isheeps buy them.

  • 1) can the nfc use in the states ? 2) if brought phone in china, can i use it in usa ? it mention it does have english language

  • it does have b4 aws

  • guys do u think i should sell my mi 8 , and add some money to buy mi 9 , or it doesn't worth to change ?

  • IF I buy I this phone will it work on t-mobile network?

  • Could I charge this phone with less powerful wireless charger? Wouldn't that damage the phone?

  • Are you insaneeeee, this phone has 3. best smartphone camera by DxoMark, and 1. best for video. What are you talking about

  • I was looking at this as my new 2019 phone but the battery is too small and Xiaomi phones never had a good camera so for the moment I will stick with my S9+. Maybe the Xiaomi Mi Mix 4 will come with a much better camera.

  • 4100 mah battery on S10+ is there to compensate for a much higher resolution (1440p). It'll all go down on which of these phones will conserve their respective batteries better.

  • By reading most comments, I don't think people understand what they want. Xiaomi smartphone will give them the impression of cheap is less. But by saying this, it just seems like the Apple way where they force their user to experience what they want them to experience and shut down all the negative review to cover the negativity, only allow praising. I only can think brand like Xiaomi are the one who still trying to keep the price down with newer and better tech, but very less people are appreciating their effort.

  • Battery is tragic, thanks xiaomi. Go for next mi.

  • What camera did you took the 8th pic of mi9 with?? I really need an answer

  • What camera did you take the mi 9 pictures with ? Plz answer plz

  • no audio jack and no micro sd slot = no no

  • Are you stupid, choose most expensive Samsung phone and Xiaomi Mi9 which is almost 3 times cheaper..... "They know market better", you know nothing. Complaining for Battery, 3.5mm jack, Ip rating and Fm radio.... Check the price first, Apple battery is smaller, it doesn't have 3.5mm, they took almost 3 years to bring Ip rating, and 4 for Wireless charging, and its more expensive.... For what are you complaining

  • Yeah, but mi 9 has bigger screen and body than the s10 and s10e, also no SD card slot and jack. If we talk about price there are phones that cost $150 with 4k mah. The battery's its weakest point, the rest of specs are fine.

  • And samsung s10 has 3400 and s10e has 3100 and both costs much more than this

  • Basically this. People who will buy this are those who knows what they're getting. It's not that hard to choose really, you can go budget with shortcomings or go expensive that almost checks your boxes. The saying "you can't please everybody" is generally true when it comes to smartphones.

  • Part 2, moral of the story, if you want save money, then you have to bear with the shortcoming. At least their price are cheap, unlike the overrated overpriced Apple iPhone, which has maintain the non-expandable memory for more than 10 years, and also start the trend to remove 3.5mm jack. Option for solving these shortcoming by force is investing a new wireless headphone, or get a wireless Bluetooth audio receiver that turn every wired headphone to work by wireless. For non-expandable memory, buy a cheap flash drive, then buy a type C port OTG for backup photo from the smartphone if memory is full. High educated user of course willing to pay premium go for the online cloud service that offer cloud storage, but with pricing to pay for service. Google Photo offer unlimited picture upload, but the problem is their free unlimited service compress your photo. Some online review do say the compression take almost no different in quality for smartphone captured JPG photo, but compromise big if picture are captured in RAW format. Yes, you read that, pros and cons out there. It never become problem when you can spend more for something like Samsung S10, but when you can't spend more, but keep complaining at a product that is almost half price compared to the most premium one currently available, then you are plain wrong and simply overexpecting.

  • Again, reading all those numb comments. As always, a typical Android smartphone won't serve every category of user. This is, the budget flagship that undercut pricing to fit in as many flagship features as it can, that still has flaws, obvious flaws that is due to cost cutting. So, now AMOLED screen has become standard, wireless charging also is on board, also got the under screen fingerprint scanner. NFC is present. The only "old" tech missing are no 3.5mm headphone jack, but adapter included, and no micro SD slot, but with choice of 128GB internal storage. Waterproofing also not something necessary at this price, don't think you would use your premium phone at harsh environment, save for radio function. If you really compare to big boy, this is a much more cheaper option than a said Oneplus 7 at some region, which almost hold the pricing near to Samsung Galaxy S10 for some region, but not S10 Plus. Complain of no 3.5mm jack? Go complain to the big boy Apple iPhone that stary the trend. Complain no micro SD slot? Apple iPhone started the trend too. As always, you can always opt for last year tech, which pricing has dropped. Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus actually come down to a price very close to phone like Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 and Xiaomi Mi8, go get this if you are not the trend chaser. If you are not, then just spend whatever that is worth for you. This definitely not a Oneplus 7, not a Mate 20/Mate 20 Pro, not even is Samsung S10, so get your fact right before you expecting too much from a budget flagship smartphone.

  • Redmi Note 7 is powered by Snapdragon 660 (14 nm) and has a max. endurance rating of 108 hrs (check the review here or even the specs page) Mi 9 is powered by Snapdragon 855 (7 nm) and has a max. endurance rating of 91 hrs (given the Snap 855 is much more powerful than the Snap 660) (check the review here or even the specs page) and also remember that the Mi 9 is thinner, narrower and shorter than the Redmi Note 7, and if you think that these dimensions differences are very small, they matter.

  • Did you check the price difference? -,-

  • but Samsung S10+ has 4100mAh battery. They know the market better.

  • NFC present?

  • Don't get hangup with the battery capacity! It has all to do how the hardware will consume power

  • Don't worry about the battery flagship snapdragon chips are extremely power efficient. and as for Snapdragon 855 it'll last a day for you.

  • battery too small .. its bad

  • Why the loudspeaker too slow?

  • Xiaomi flagship device Mi series always powered by battery with small capacity. Ex. Mi 8 3400mah Mi 8 Pro 3000mah and Mi 9 3300mah. Why? Most users recently need the device with high capacity battery even Redmi Note 7 also powered by 4000mah.

  • Is there really no night mode at the Ultra-wide camera lense? Why? Thats rather disappointing!

  • Dear xiaomi, please bring back 3.5mm jack and dedicated micro sd slot on your phones..

  • "In fact, none of the three snappers features optical stabilization." will this significantly a drawback in comparison with Mi 8? any info regarding its 'Laser/PDAF'?

  • I'd get the SD855 Mi Mix 3 :)

  • I hope it will be available in Indonesia soon.. Xiaomi, please bring your flagship to my country..

  • Coz it includes back glass and wireless charging.

  • HOLY MOTHERSUCKER! Those specs are sucking awesome! but the price too... is so HIGH -__-

  • Does it support 5G????

  • Do please bring this phone to india. Oneplus will pack their bags. Hit like if you agree. :-)

  • Yes i telling you that. DxO mark does some Lab testing and even if it's true that doesn't automatically means real life performance. And if you look real laboratory score you need to compare score by score. Don't take that overall number as well. For example if one phone is better in noise reduction and the other in zoom, second one will have a bigger score. I mean is zoom really more important than noise?

  • It's decent. I holded that honor. Its just fine. If it uses quad Bayer technology doesn't mean that it's flagship grade. I mean seriously, photos looking washed out on a sunny day... And my P20 (non pro) makes better pics than Honor. Im not trolling. Phone itself is probably more than just worth the price but by today's standards biggest difference and concern among most of users are Camera (Sony overall good but still midrange sensor). Speakers (not for me personally otherwise I won't pick P20) and battery life. Processing power, reception, gps hmm there's just no real huge difference except on synthetic benchmark... Even old p10 lite can run pubg mobile and almost dont have a lag.

  • This is literally a bargain. No other phone that has this insane rigs inside of it that costs only $450. Everything, I love everything.

  • No we wan't it like that . higher resolution and waterproofing will make the phone more expensive without changing the user experience Just go for other 1000€ flagships

  • As of 10:00AM, EST, Feb-20-2019, 540000+ pre-orders have been placed @JD.

  • I think it is the best smartphone there till now and the price is amazing

  • 400 € for the flagship of the year is a very good deal you would pay much more money may double the price for such specs ........really good work xiaomi

  • xiaomi mi 9 - no 3.5 mm audio jack , no micro sd slot , no ip68, no stereo speaker , no fm radio , poor battery. poor quality.xiaomi miui is envisaged for massive data collection by the Chinese state . waste money for this chinese trash i wait lg g8 - best multimedia phone on Market

  • Nah, gonna wait for POCO f2 the battery is in 3000ish which on this era of battle of Flag ship customers are now looking for higher capacity of battery of course it includes the 3.5mm jack. It much better if this flagship starting battery is 4000.

  • Lenovo z5 pro GT has better design also with SD855 full view but software is buggy more than xiaomi. You should use custom rom.

  • daaa... the "poor" batery it's because Mi 9 has a amoled screen.

  • Dear, the battery in some smartphone is bigger and smaller, but it depends a lot on the Socs (Qualcom 855). Its energy consumption, lithography and its technology is more efficient and sustainable. Therefore Smartphone with Snapdragon 600-700-800 has special cores for saving energy in a state of rest or high and medium activity.

  • OMFG, so sad with such a poor mah... A shame.

  • Simple question: Honor View 20. Just joking. Go for the Mi 9. The amoled screen alone is worth it. Dark mode feature is just amazing.

  • Xiaomi is just making it's flagship devices bigger and bigger. Why all those smartphone companys don't see, that some customers want a flagship device with excellent specs and handy dimensions. Xiaomi Mi 9 is a great smartphone and maybe the best smartphone out there right now. Waiting for Samsung release event today and hoping for Galaxy S10e.

  • Battery is small bad specially in 2019.

  • Honor View 20 or Xiaomi Mi 9?

  • Battery small but good... Good than all ipjone models... 91hour showed... My redmi note 5 92 very good, 2sim.. use all day 4g..wifi...screen many hours active. Redmi jote 7 must buy that 107hours, battery for me 1st place.. looking mi 8 se...that 3120mah,... But 86hours.. didnt think that same 4000mah snap 660 + more big screen willbe 107, my note 5 snap 636 92... When see redmi note battery.. many than others.. decide that.. also look honor 10lite... 8c low..end for me, after this may almost same..

  • Mobile gaming except ,old galaxys s9/s9+, is miles ahead, and almost at the same price now .

  • Hello, where i can get the black background from the lockscreen ?

  • Nice smartphone. I Wish it had waterproofing and a higher display resolution.

  • A flagship is suppose to be special especially the design. The design looks so boring even BBK company have better design for their flagships and it lacks SD card tray, 3.5 mm jack, fitted with ordinary battery size. If you want to buy Xiaomi better go for the Pocophone or Xiaomi Redmi Note 7/7Pro

  • it is B28 lol, learn to read

  • Only for minority including you

  • what! SD855 7nm didnt get any better in battery saving?

  • Are you telling that the DxOMark results are faux?

  • Given the most frequent accident is a toilet dive, I'd say it's pretty important...

  • no ois, no 3.5mm, small battery. nah better go for redmi note 7. i don't really need top tier soc.

  • It would be tragedy this future like phone will have this ancient technology which is not essential.

  • Card slot is useless nowdays 128 GB is more than enough. I have 64 in my phone and still like 24 free. Jack is complete obsolette is not essential and is not needed. Wireless audio is great enough. At wish site you can get nice wireless earplugs or earphones for a cheap price. And IR blaster is also not essential. Let it pass.

  • Man SD Card for what 128GB is more than enough i have 64 in my phone and still have like 24 free. FM radio download one via google play problem fixed. Jack is not essential and thus is not needed. SD855 makes your 3000 mAh battery feels like Samsung M series with 5000 mAh with a much more powerhungry CPU.

  • Jack is not essential and is not needed.

  • You know that Huawei doesn't allow bootloader unlocks anymore, right?

  • battery back up should be more

  • Is it support Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile???

  • Waitting for Redmi Note 7 Pro amazing battery 4000mah and the price is much cheaper than Mi9 and Mi9SE

  • Dissappointed with battery 3300mah while the device mi9 is powered by new processor SD 855

  • Do you have any hardware problems with poco f1? I wanna buy it and use oxygen os on it to fix software bugs.

  • No way that this phone doesn't have OIS, i think 3500mah would be enough, not amazing but enough, but 3300mah, nothing special. No way that doesn't have OIS, I think specs are not completed...

  • Who cares about IP68? Will you be using the phone on the rain? My only concern about this phone, is the battery

  • I liked the Mi 8 (and all the other Xiaomi phones I've tried) but I sold it after a few months because I didn't think the battery life was up to Xiaomi's usual standards. I see that the Mi 9 has a slightly higher battery life rating, according to GSM Arena, than the Mi 8 despite being smaller by 100 mAh. Good, but not good enough. After selling my Mi 8, I bought the Pocophone F 1 with its 4000 mAh battery. Much more to my liking. Yes, the Mi series has higher end features but I don't really need them. The Pocophone does everything I want well enough. So, I won't be buying the Mi 9. If the battery had been 3500 or 3700 mAh, maybe, but 3300 is too small for a 2019 phone, I don't care how efficient the SOC is.

  • Who cares about IP68? Will you be using the phone on the rain? My only concern about this phone, is the battery

  • usb 2.0 in 2019? no, thanks

  • Less than 4000MaH battery and lack of OIS killed it for me.

  • No OIS with Camera, no IP68 rating for waterproof, no 3.5mm headphone jack and no fm Radio! Fm Radio and headphone jack is comprised but Ip68? OIS? Go to hell Mi9. Waiting for S10E or switch S9+

  • Starting price: CNY 2999 (~$430) for 6GB+128GB.

  • nah but you can unlock xiaomi no need though because miui is awesome it already got the system wide dark mode

  • How much this will be once it will launch

  • Everything is Perfect! Except no SD card meh... The jump price of 256 ver vs the cost of 256gb sdcard is no joke, well the phone itself is quite cheap considering its 2019 flagship material. Definitely going to buy this to replace my XZ1 if the upcoming XZ4 tomorrow disappoint me.

  • God bless Xiaomi

  • Xiaomi's high management are so confident of Mi9 that they will bypass any flash sales and make the units in stock and ready to deliver (or pick-up) by Feb. 26, 2019 (within 6 days of announcement).

  • You can unlock Huawei ?

  • Very nice design and specifications, I like the water drop notch I have Xiaomi redmi 5 plus .... very good phone I hope the price to be reasonable not like the crazy Samsung

  • Why xiaomi bringing this kind of beast to India. Pls xiaomi bring this one to Indian market.

  • You don't have the dimensions yet but got the battery test done!!! PR web 🕸 browsing time though. Tired 😫 feeling 19.5:9 notched tall screens. Weird, no 🙊 beauty.

  • The design team was targeting Huawei P20Pro for Mi9's camera setup. They are happy with the end-result and believe in its match-up against P20Pro. Based on dxomark test-result, the design team fully deliver what they promise.

  • I applaud Xiaomi for bypassing the IP rating so that more effort and resources can be placed where it really matters. Xiaomi Mi9 is specifically designed for those buyers who take good care of their smartphones. Please keep this important tradition which makes Xiaomi a great company it already is and an even greater company in years ahead.

  • Another beast baby hatched by Xiaomi. Numbawan!

  • Does it have Widevine L1 ?

  • Battery is only 3300 mAh, hopes the dark mode will help a bit

  • Testing results from www.dxomark.com: "With convincing results across the board and no major flaws, the Mi 9 is the third-best device so far for still imaging, edged out only by Huawei juggernauts Mate 20 Pro and P20 Pro. In video mode it does even better, finding itself at the very top of our ranking, making it the top choice for mobile video shooters. "

  • The dxomark for Xiaomi Mi 9 is already out: 107. The new-runner after Mate20Pro (and Huawei P20Pro), but ahead of all other smartphones.

  • No LTE band B28. I am not interested.

  • New marketing words: Except for the flat screen, the rest of Xiaomi Mi9 body is all curves. (There is a new word for these curves: The Mermaid Curve.)

  • Just updated. As of 2:10AM, EST, Feb-20-2019, 240000+ pre-orders have been placed @JD.

  • ~100000 pre-orders have been placed @JD as of this minute.

  • Launched today at 11.45hrs IST in china . pls use this link to see launch event

  • For those of you who are looking for a flagship-worthy smartphone with a compact body, Honor 11 will be a good option. You can check out Honor 10 and its review to get some general idea. Due to this year's bezel-less full screen design, its size should be around 145mm x70mm x8mm or smaller. The screen size should be about 6" or slightly smaller. Kirin980, top-grade 2-3 camera setup, premium design and premium build-quality. Its screen can either be AMOLED or IPS, depending on whether Huawei can receive Samsung allocation for AMOLED. It will come by May, priced at ~$400 or slightly higher.

  • FYI the camera is better than mi mix 3 which boast a 103 on dxomark

  • I wish for 70mm width max.

  • No twighlight gold? Why? Hehehee

  • I woudn't call the IMX 586 a non flagship camera ? Do you have more info about the quality of this camera ? From what I heard it's been installed on the Honor View 20 and it's great

  • Would this be a Honor view 20 killer, wanted to get a view 20 soon, but might change my mind.

  • Flagship power using midrange camera justifies the price. So it won't be an true flagship killer.

  • We need smaller phones 1,40cm Max !

  • Can't wait for the Mi 9. Some really killer flagship features in this Mi, the real flagship killer. Love that pink too.

  • Seems like Xiaomi is not interested in IP rating, they claim it would raise their prices significantly, im not so sure on that, but it we will see if they do an IP68 rated phone soon, at least it seems to have wireless charging now (unofficial specs)

  • Great phone great price but there is no water proofing why you removed the headphone jack it is so important to we the music lovers. Also no SD card. Please don't in the Redmi flagship coming up. Please add them for us inluding radio. We need them all. We need more features and more things. Thank you.

  • tbh it's not worth the upgrade if you're currently having a mi 8

  • Another phablet, miss old era compact phone, future phones will need a laptop bag

  • why 3.5mm does not exist?? thats very bad desicion.. , altough xiaomi dont f*cking listen customers, us. I dont understand this situation, i wish this phone has a 3.5mm jack then i buy it, but i cant trash my razers, sorry xiaomi.

  • Why soo small? Give us 7.99 inch phone lol :D Will buy better last year samsung s9 or huawei p20 rather this tablet, at same price.

  • UFS 3.0? Anyway I have Mi8 and in May hopefully will be Mi9 available in EU

  • Wow! Nice design humbly waiting for it.

  • The last chance is to wait for the new Pocophone F2 .

  • Boring design for flagship, no headphone jack & SD card tray and small battery. Good thing this is Xiaomi and we all know Xiaomi always give the best value for money price

  • I Buy this phone but Sir very costly .

  • 3.5mm headphones jack is not a big issue but you know, Xiaomi is not providing any ear buds. They can provide type c headphones. Eventually, I am frustrated about that. Now expecting IP68 rating on MI9.

  • Will be better if battery 4000mah

  • Why did mi series mi8, mi8 pro now mi9 power by battery with small capacity ?

  • AMOLED Screen consumes low baterry than an IPS.

  • Is this phone 5g ready?

  • Less power, Mi9 is 7nm, Poco is 10nm, less power, less heat, in theory at least, most likely around the same power, with increased performance, a huge increase.

  • Xiaomi's flagship MI 9... Not bad.. but could've been better..

  • no ois?????

  • There is a popular song, telling about a warning on the door: "Our dog is salty and it's chain is chineese"....

  • Higher mah = longer time before the batt runs out it has nothing to do with power lol

  • But still they're so useful for most of users!

  • I have a Poco F1 right now and I'm quite satisfied with its specs! This phone has a better spec, Camera and display! But the battery is less than Poco (has 4000 mAh) which I'm a little disappointed since the screen and processor needs more power! I'm looking forward to it! If the price is reasonable like Poco F1, I might consider selling my Poco f1 and buying Mi 9!

  • all that is so old now

  • Not bad so far, wireless charging added, only missing IP rating and this phone is pure gold, lets see where it lands price wise for the 8/128gb version.

  • Ill only buy one with 3.5 and ip rating...

  • Xiaomi is best for Mid-ranger Phones not flagships !

  • Who listens to FM Radio and needs headphone jack in 2019.. Get a life!

  • Yes, you are absolutely right. I am also expecting IP68 rating with 520 Dollars Xiaomi phone. Samsung Galaxy A8+ is supporting IP68, Super Amoled display, Fm radio, 3.5mm headphones jack with ear buds. That price is 450 Dollars now. Mi 9 can follow to Galaxy S9 series specifications now.

  • no dedicated memory card slot. No No No I don't buy this

  • No fm radio, No 3.5 jack = buy another phone, there are plenty

  • why no fm radio? Holly shitt!

  • No 3.5mm headphones jack, No IP68 rating, No fm Radio? How is it flagship phone?

  • Guys, what do you think about the battery? I know that Xiaomi usually optimizes very well.

  • Enjoy the ugly fat notch

  • The Mi 8 is an very good phone, before i use the Samsung Galaxy Note 5. Some things are different in the menu, but it learns fast. And yes, fast he is... very fast !!

  • It would be nice if it would have wireless charging and IP rating.

  • It's pretty normal today that phone doesn't have 3.5mm jack, baterry will be the same as Galaxy S10, and Xiaomi optimization for Battery life is good, very good... Who need microSd with 128gb storage, and who uses Fm radio today, Ip rating for this price is expected, Op6t doesnt have and you haven't complained for that. For this price is awesome phone and it will be one of best smartphone on market for 2019... Stop, for this price what are you expecting Galaxy S10 Plus with 1tb memory....

  • For the upgrade sake, Im waiting to arrive Poco F2 instead the most "practical" smartphone ever with SD 855 ip69 5G LTE 5000mah 8gb ram 128gb rom triple camera 48mp plus 24mp selfie cam what else i could ask for with the price of 18,999 im happy already. currently using poco f1 and nothing could i ask for more. Btw, xaoimi pls include poco f1 to your upgrade plan of Os UI11 dont be so bad Xiaomi.

  • You forgot: - no money printing function - doesn't cut the grass - doesn't walk the dog

  • No, its pure main triple cam

  • no ip68 , no micro sd slot , no 3.5mm audio jack, no fm radio ,.this years i going to new LG G8

  • nope, it really is 3 on the back +1 on the front. (they are using a Mi8 pic at the top atm)

  • well triple camera refers to 2 main camera and 1 front camera

  • Does it support IP 68 water resistant?

  • No headphone jack? Into the garbage it goes

  • Please use original image of Mi 9, Mi 9 using triple camera.

  • And xiaomi usually gives an adaptater in the box

  • The battery isnt whats expensive, its a slim one what is, adding tech to the device while still being able to disipate heat is, keeping a slim/light body is, thats why they get to add big batteries, 3500mAh is good enough for daily use, also 7nm chipset use less power.

  • I understand that not all people are like me. I just don't get what the big deal with the headphone jack is. If the phone doesn't have it, you get an adapter for it and you can connect it to usbc. Problem solved.

  • Not bad, but also not impressive, i would expect some form of IP rating and wireless charging at this point, they claim adding water resistance it would heavily increase costs, but im not sold on that, everything else seems on point, probably a bump in resolution would be nice, not because its lacking, but as a flagship having below 400dpi might not look the part, im currently on a Mi8 and screen seems sharp enough, so i could be overreacting about it.

  • It´s for aesthetic reasons. People want their flagship phone to be thin. People who do not care about that usually buy cheaper and more "practical" phones with larger batteries.

  • Like others said I don't understand why cheaper phones have big 4k 5k mah batteries and flagship don't =_= Any phone with more than 6 inches of screen should come with 4k mah. Don't care how good the Sd855 will be. This model lacks several features that other flagship will have, there is no excuse for a bigger battery.

  • Another flagship without 3.5 Jack, sdcard, Fm radio, ir, very small battery. No thanks xiaomi.

  • Just why ? No headphone jack , no micro sd , no ir blaster , no huge battery , no fm radio . Maybe I should say NO to this phone

  • Yes I am not using these but I still use headphone jack and I need it If you don't use it doesn't mean that others are like you . I need headphone jack and won't use a smartphone without it

  • I don't get this crying because of missing 3.5mm headphone jack. It is ancient analogue technology. Do you guys use analogue phones or analogue computers? Do you listen to the music on a record/cassete/beta player? Do you watch movies on a VHS video player? If yes, than i understand. But nevertheless, the technology is moving forward, it is time to say bye to 3.5mm headphone jack.

  • Absolut, cheaper phones has 4000 - 5000 mAh sometimes, and this "Flagship" has only 3500? O.o

  • Why you talking there is no Headphone Jack, Fm radio, Ir blaster and 3500mah battery... for 3.5mm jack is pretty normal today, Fm radio is nobody using, i have Ir blaster on my phone and it was interesting in the beginning, now its boring... 3500mah on 7nm processor is enough, its not like other flagships batteries but its enough, full day with ease.

  • You've gotta be kidding me. Even IR blaster is missing again? No dual speakers again?? Just brilliant Lei Jun, just brilliant.

  • medicalman bc u have 128gb internal storage in base version... Why would you need MicroSD??

  • battery must be min 4500 mah

  • Back design and some features are not matching. Should be updated. This page is officially unofficial. Check the real official back design.

  • still not support micro sd card ! why ! since MI 2 till now !

  • Sad to see IR blaster missing.

  • Not Infra Red again?!

  • Bad = no 3.5mm jack Bad = battery only 3500mAh Bad = still have a notch...

  • Good = superamoled Good = SD 855 Good = notch no so invasive Waiting for the price, anxious...

  • I'll consider your suggestion.

  • I don't know where in Europe you live but here the mi 8 is only 380 euros

  • 7nm.... great. There'll be no major issue on battery consuming.

  • I hope there will be IP68. Itll be the serial killer!

  • No IR blaster? No thank.

  • lol there's no point writing this here, send a dm to lei jun on twitter if you want to be heard

  • Hi sir.. Im Rahmat, Mi Fans Indonesia, im always waiting new xiaomi phone. I want to buy xioami premium design full view display with super bezelless (96%), but dont taller phone. The size 6.3 inches with dimensions 155 x 74 x 7.6 mm, the resolution QHD 19:5:9, HDR10 and Panel Super Amoled with Gorilla Glass 6 Protection. Then, i want powerful camera and gaming on this phone. The specifications like this: Chipset: Snapdragon 855 (5G) Main Camera: (48 MP f/1.6 IMX586, 24 MP f/1.7 and TOF 3D) Front Camera: (25 MP f/1.6 infinity-O) I hope those specifications for next xiaomi phone on 2019. Thanks sir..

  • I hope so!

  • Where is Fm Radio and 3.5mm jack?

  • I don't get it. Their cheaper series end up having 3,5mm headphone jack port, slot for expandable storage and bigger batteries, but the top tier ones don't. Why Xiaomi, whyyyy... If they can do it on the cheaper models, why can't they do it on the premium models? Redmi Note 7 has a 4,000mAh battery and costs around 150USD$,but Mi Mix 3 has a 3,200mAh battery and costs around 640 USD$. This makes no sense...

  • 3500mAh doesn't cut it

  • Dont like NOTCH phone, infinity-o is better, i will waiting xiaomi premium design without notch. i hope the next xioami mi 9 is better display with full view and super bezelles (96% up). Triple main camera (48 MP f/1.6 IMX586, 24 MP f/1.7 and TOF 3D). Front Camera (25MP f/1.6) Panel Super Amoled HDR10 Color gamut Resolusi 6.3 inch QHD+ Gorilla Glass 6 MMC yes

  • Tragic battery, why xiaomi?? SD card?? Fm radio??? 3.5 Jack??? No thanks xiaomi.

  • Best possible kind of notch IMHO

  • Not only that. Also the screen resolution is low ppi it must be higher than expected not a 390ppi. Standard is set to 403ppi. Oh no!!

  • True, but which of those phones are thin and have a good chipset?

  • It's embarrassing that this has the same camera as redmi note 7 pro.

  • Don't like notch this phone

  • i love xiaomi phone all features except only one thing its battery . very very worst battery they have others all having 4000,5000,even 7000mAh also easily available but xiaomi only living with 3000mAh or 3500mAh how much poor battery . in india xiaomi is number 1 brand now but still people hating battery issue so xiaomi will loss the brand name with number 1 if not resolve battery issue. ty xiaomi by great fan of xiaomi :)

  • Please don't talk like you're an authority on what companies can and should do. Hardly any phones released by popular companies in the past two years are under 8mm in thickness and have a battery capacity over 4Ah. If you want a 6Ah battery phone, be prepared to have a much thicker phone instead of whining about how you can't have both of the things you want.

  • Dont like notch phone. Infinity-O is better

  • humongous screen sizes with pathetic battery lives. I wonder what these companies are thinking when they design these phones. What on earth is wrong with the market with this big phones. What happen to one hand usability like a proper phone. I see a huawei with 7 inch. where does this end? 8-9 inch? as good as carrying a tab. Absolute idiots.

  • Yes the ir blaster is the reason why I bought a redmi phone So sad that xiaomi flagship don't have it

  • *water-resistant

  • People are runing for oneplus is because of availability and because of the software (close to stock android)

  • If this was waterproof it could be the perfect phone.

  • Mi Mix 3 or Mi 9? Pros and Cons when will mi mix 3s released or so?

  • I think all specifications are best in Xiaomi except battery and ram optimization. Thats why peoples running for 1+.

  • please bring back the infrared function. (IR blaster). The mi remote apps is very helpful.

  • Mi 8's price in europe is 400€ and not 700

  • No sd card slot , no heasphone jack and no ir blaster !! Xiaomi Why are you doing that ?

  • Powerful chipset consumes less power. So SD855 with 3500Mah battery will perform well for long lasting use.

  • in my opinion la, for me size is too big, I'm more prefer screen size about 5.5-5.8..battery also small, u should add more

  • His battery is ridiculous, sorry, we go for another. Why do you disappoint xiaomi, put a 4-5000mah, break the rules.

  • wrong, idts. no such thing as cheap or not, monex matrs not, just u r cheap

  • im waiting either mi 9 or mix series with snapdragon 855 whichever come out 1st, cant wait!

  • really but it is so much better than what moto offers ?

  • Expecting IP68 and TOF camera lense on Xiaomi Mi9.

  • The design, look cheap. Like other cheap phone at $200 or below. Tear drop notch = cheap look

  • Wait what?

  • Mi 8 is 400

  • I just unlocked my Mi Mix 2S after 72 hours, no way near 360, what are you talking about

  • Yeah you're right when they used ip 54 for mi6 i tought they will use at least ip67 for mix series but didn't happend God knows why they didn't most flagships has at least ip67 even oneplus using it's ways for waterproofing hope they will use some point in mi9 like you said

  • And in Europe 800$ ;) (just like Mi 8 was 700$)

  • No it wouldn't. It would cost 500 by Xiaomi standards

  • What is it?

  • This phone is worth buying but there is a small bug in the phone

  • No I would prefer 10000 mah battry Really even Samsung just gives 4000 mah for the s10+ and note 9 you are dreaming for a phone with this price

  • And no sd card slot or ir blaster I would even prefer a redmi phone better then this one

  • camera equip to triple camera: 1.wide/standard camera: 48 MP 2.ultrawide : 16 MP 3.telephoto and depth and TOF 3D sensor : 8 MP f:1.5-2.2 , 1.4µm-1.0µm , 3x optical zoom, 4-axis OIS, dual pixel PDAF/Laser AF , Auto HDR , AI photo, AI night shots , AI beauty , AI sense , AI scene , Dual LED flash front camera : 20 MP, f/1.9, 0.9µm , with LED flash video : 2160p@60fps, 1080p@240fps, 720p@960fps, HDR, gyroEIS&OIS , 24-bit/192kHz stereo sound/video rec and Active noise cancellation with dedicated mic. 6.3 inch Super Amoled 1080 x 2340 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio (~402 ppi density) with little drop notch display, (~90% screen-to-body ratio)- 90 Hz (1ms pixel response time)- DCI-P3 color gamut- Wide Colour Gamut- HDR 10 display- - Always-on display and pro- photo animated lockscreen , Snapdragon 855 with 8G ram and 128-512G rom Android 9.0 (Pie) ,faster Infrared face recognition, fingerprint under Screen, Battery :Non-removable Li-Po 3800 mAh battery , Fast battery charging (Quick Charge 4.0+) 5V4A and Qi wireless fast charging 15W and Reverse wireless charging.

  • And if it get those it will cost 1000€

  • poor battery capacity 3500 mAh

  • Outstanding phone. With affordable price this will move the market.

  • Xiaomi's user interface is among the best, sleek and smooth. Xiaomi devices don't heat up; this will be a masterpiece. However the OEM needs to put more emphasis on the screen. 1080 is so 2010. In 2019 and with an amoled display that is pentile, we don't wanna see grainy images. That battery should be upgraded too. 7nm shouldn't be the excuse for 3,500 instead of a 4000 mAh.

  • This phone looks kinda boring. Just adding fingerprint under display and smaller notch is not enough. It needs something more like dual speakers, IP67, wireless charging, bigger battery, idk :-/

  • Are you this clueless! Huawei does not even allow bootloader unlocking anymore. You should even be grateful xiaomi is allowing you after two weeks.

  • Huawei dont have bootloader unlock option

  • 855*

  • Ure trolling. Given how efficient the u55 is going to be, it’ll probably feel like any 4000 maH ureself has used

  • Disappointing Battery shoud be at least 4000mah

  • Buy Samsung, LG, Meizu, Poco..

  • Xiaomi asking to wait a ridiculous 360 hours to unlock phones. I am not using a phone for 2 weeks to get all my messages during that time erased with an unlock. So I don't care how good the phone is, hello Huawei .

  • Still no jack = not buying.

  • Stereo speaker please !!

  • For Mi M 9 Battery should of 4500 or 5000 mah

  • No brother, price is revealed to 445 US Dollars.

  • 550 or 600 euros for sure

  • Price should be around 400 USD.

  • Does it support Always on display, water resistant, LED Notifications? These three is my basic requirements. If yes, I will switch Xiaomi again.

  • finally fast charging ..32 W

  • should be on my hands now

  • should be 300$
