I bought one and had it for probs a year ive spent 30 hours on the phone all together When i first bought it i could spend for ever on the phone now it turns offaafter 3 mins and when i go on contacts after it takes a couple seconds before it shows them and it makes alot of backround noise ehilest on . whilest i charge it makes a humming noise Is this old or tapped?

I bought this phone in 2000 and it withstood a few years of abuse (underwater a few times, many drops) and never stopped working. I finally cracked the screen and decided to replace it with a lesser model. I just found it in a drawer and it took a charge and still seems to work, all these years later. This was an excellent phone -- and its compactness was beyond compare.

I bought one of these. It is black. It was a second hand unit and naturally it broke down after a few mounths. I would have bought a new one, but my stupid father made me buy a used one from a friend of his (at that time I was a first year in high school) But the new ones were cool small phone. I still have my broken unit and everythime I look at it I wish it still worked.

This kind of phone will cost about 25 USD. I purchased one last month as refurbished condition. The phone looked like new. It was with original front cover which was repainted very well. I also got wall adapter and hand strap. The phone was sent from China and came about two weeks. They also installed my local language to it. The only lack was the battery what drained during the call. But that is not so big problem. You can find BLB-2 type of batteries that will cost about 10 USD. If you want to find this phone then you should try Aliexpress or Ebay Or Amazon. Aliexpress has the cheapest deals.

This was my first cell phone ever. I begged my parents for a phone for the holidays when I was a freshman in high school. My best friend had a phone (different from this one) that she shared with her older brother and I just thought that was the coolest thing ever. My mom asked her friends who has phones which was the best around and they all said this one was. I LOVED every minute I had with this phone. I can't remember the reason why I switched to a different phone (could have been that we switched carriers) but I will always have a special place in my heart for this one.

My brother bought this phone man 11 years ago. It was abandoned because the LCD is cracked. Just a while ago I looked for spare parts and I found what I wanted, I fixed it to place and booted up and it worked! Nowadays people are using smartphones that are too similar to each other and Nokia 8210 stands out in the retro way.

The Irony is that Nokia of old is actually better and superior to Nokia of modern day in the form of the Lumia. This is the period leading up to the N95 where Nokia were technically leagues ahead of the competition. The sad part is that it is now Nokia that needs to catch up big time. Phones like the 8210 and 6310i are timeless and never forgotten, who will exactly remember a Lumia 800 when so many WP7 phones are practically identical to one another.

It is now 2012,I have now got this phone for nearly 13 years [I HAD NO TROBLEM WITH IT] im still using it and i will still use it until it will break. This is my first phone and i have never change it because it is so good it does everything a mobile phone should do make calls send message and send some datas through infrared when i need. why buy an expensive phone when your propper phone is still working. 10 ot of 10 for this little durable fast phone i will never change it so good also to finish i dont care if this is not a sophysticated like all i am more than happy with tis phone nokia is the best... thanks for reading :)

Maybe something to do with the age of the phone and the fact that if you have a sim registered to the 3G/4G bandwidth which will pretty much render the phone almost obsolete as it's only 2G. Another factor is the battery which is pretty much going to be on it's last legs if you haven't invested in a replacement, similar to a car battery the old generation GSM phone batteries need replacing after so many years but make sure you get a compatible one. Once running, these classics will last you an absolute lifetime, may not have the bells and whistles of the modern day Iphones, Androids and Windows Phone 7s but the ease of use really is second to none and the form factor is one thing a lot of the new kids lack, portability.

Nokia model I owned for the longest. I had this phone for almost 5 years as my main phone, and then it became my spare or backup phone. I must admit at the beginning I had it replaced 2 or 3 times but later found out it was because the fake Nokia car charger was blowing up the phone every 3 months, once I threw out the car charger the phone was the best ever. Such a great size able to fit easily in the pocket of tight jeans:)

My favourite Nokia model. I remember reeeeeally wanting it when it came out (1999), but not being able to afford it (I was only 13 then), and finally, after a while, I could. Now, in 2011, I'm still using one (not the same one, okay), and I'm really satisfied with it. It does what is does well (phone), and otherwise no nonsense, and it's really tiny, which I like. Yeah, I'm looking at you, you smug Blackberry user :)

Brilliant phone. Lost my iPhone yesterday. Got this one out of the attic... where it has been for many many years as I bought it when it first came out... Plugged it in, charged it up, new (3G) sim card in and it's working a treat. No problem at all. Still so impressed with the size. Love it.

I agree with you, the old days were so cool with snake and sms text messaging tones and ring tones you could fiddle around with, when Nokia was at it's peak. As much as I like the current tech, it's much too fast for me to follow and too overcomplicated, all smartphones/mini computers today lack the identity that phones of the past had. I'm not pining for the old generation, but simplicity and individuality would be much appreciated in this ever crowded market.

I refurbished my girlfriends 8210. She didn't take care of it, broke it in several places and had not used it since 2007. I took it apart and realized it's fully functional, so I bought a new casing and battery, mended some of the broken pieces of the chassis, and fiddled with the antenna contacts until the reception was perfect. I'm using it as my primary phone, and it's flawless so far.

I had this phone when it first came out. I had nothing but problems with it. It switched itself of during texts. You had to take the front cover off to read the screen otherwise it was blank. Did anyone else suffer from these issues?

Hi, I just found an old 8210 from junk in my house somewhere. Had to change the facia plate and battery. Too bad couldn't find originals. Still Works pretty well. Love it with E71 in one hand and 8210 in other.

I LOVED this phone. I still have it and wish it was functional every so often. I leave it docked 24/7 near my bed and it still functions as a great alarm clock when needed. Always synch's time, battery carries it through power outages, the alarm gradually gets louder and has a pleasant ring. My touch pro2 may have tons of features, but it is nearly 3x the size and weight and looks nowhere near as nice.

Actually, I take back what I said, the pace of tech today is way too quick, back during the 8210 era, THAT was slow. I totoally agree with you Tammy. Phone Designers and Nokia were so innovative and way ahead of thier time during the Nokia 8210's reign. Most of the smartphones today just lack soul and just all look the same, the features and functions may be advanced but we're not seeing the rapid change like we saw with the Nokia 8210 and 6310i, arguably two of Nokia's most successful models of all time. Throw in the N95 for good measure too. Plus today, as I sai before, the pace of tech is way too slow and there's hardly any updates or news for like, months and then the handset is released when it's obsolete. Back then with the 8210, it remained fresh even with all the other handsets which were just as advanced, but this had the form factor and power!

I had the TDMA version 8260, at the beggining, what a great phone,super design,you can switch between providers, but is delicate, when i place it on jeans pocket turns off, and stressed the screws, by the way on those days when you changed the faceplate you got to get like 10 tiny new screws, if not will not turn, I sold it for $50 after paying $60 on repairs, the up/dpwn side buttons are really unncessary and mine got damaged

Had a very nice blue cover for it, looked like a classy toy car. Worked fine too! :-) Oh well, I've moved on, but I still miss that 8210.... a car went over this (slow reverse on gravel), and it was left in the rain for 2 hours, i took the pieces, hair-dryered them and put it back... lo and behold.. it worked like magic... another friend's 8210 fell off from the first floor, all he had to do was put the battery and cover back in..

Ah, my first upgrade. Great for jeans pocket. This phone has the best call quality i have ever heard. It had better sound than a digital land line. Also handled well while driving in a car with a louder than normal ride. Does anyone know what kind of bitrate or sound codec was used in this phone to get such great sound?

I dropped it in a pond and in a bucket of water on 2 separate occassions, took all the bits apart and put outside on window sill, dried it out and worked fine. bearing in mind it was full of plastic parts, i don't I would have been able to do that with my Nokia N82

I actually had the 8260 which looks the same as this one, but I loved it until I dropped it so many times that it would sometimes turn off when I squeezed it. It took a licking and keeped on ticking. I even dropped it in water once and as soon as I dried it out under a fan overnight, it started working again.

Anyone whose phone has died. Actually Fone can die after 4-6 years but not completely. there is a way to put a new life in it if u have used it with care. If u can do it safely u can open its screws and very carefully clean all contact parts (golden metalic points) with a nidle or screw driver and clean the dust from both contact parts pins on one part and golden touch down area of phone board, do all this cleaning very softly & carefuly + get a new orgnal battery and here it is a brand new 8210, i recently renewed one of my friends nokia 8210, he is very happy now.

I love this handset. Never had the screen fade problem on mine. The only problem I had with this phone was that my mum's dog ate it. Moral of this story... Never lend out handsets you like to family with big dogs! all ends well though, I am buying one from ebay again!

I bought my 8210 in 2000 years and still woking properly without any problem. Of course I change another new battery as the old one already dead by over-charged. What's more, I like the built in traditional British Ringring tone (type 1,type 2) and one steady tone (type 3) which already fade out in the current models....(I don't know why Nokia don't preserve to use that ringtones ? )

i just got an 8210 yesterday! i traded off my 3100 for it cuz my 3100 already has lots of probs with signal! im having problems with the keypad of 8210 but maybe its just becuz my keypads arent original... but im happy i got rid of my bulky, broken down 3100... though 3100 is not that ad of a phone

After having samsung as my first mobile way back in mid 1999, I purchased my first Nokia in end of 2000. And 8210 was my first nokia. In those days it was one of the most expensive nokias & looked extremely delicate & rich. Even with the small size, the usage was very comfortable. wtiring long sms was no problem. The keyboard had a very nice feel. Heads used to turn, whenever I used this phone. Phone speed was very good & voice clarity was excellent. Signal strength was damn good. Only glitch i found was the body cover, used to wear off after a few months, so had to change it quite a few times. But thats ok. The phone was extremely strong, & it had fell a few times, but still worked ok. I used this phone for 2 years, the longest period I used any single phone till date. Finally gave it to my dad, when I purchased Samsung Blue i in 2003. And we sold it off in mid 2004, when the phone had started to give a few probs, like low ringtone volume. But I must say, one of the best handsets ever made by nokia. And I hope Nokia gets this design n size back with features of N Series.

it`s an excelent phone (of course, it`s a nokia) but it has some bad parts: no wap, the sim holder it`s tricky, the sim is preety hard to remove, the phone memory (250) only stores the same details as sim (one phone number and one name)

I also think that the menu and features are easy to access and use. This is one of the best Nokia's available, i would recommend it ! Cheers all.

I owned a Nokia 8210 (...sorry 4 Nokia 8210s) before I got my latest phones (Siemens C45 and then Siemens S55). The 8210 has a very beautiful design and you can get attached to it. So much so that you forgive it when it misbehaves (cutting you off in the middle of conversation). This is why I had to change mine 3 times and they all gave me the same problems. Now I can see the difference. With Siemens you never get cut off. Having hour long conversations is trouble-free with Siemens, while impossible with Nokia 8210. Sorry Nokia , but you knew it all along. That is why all shops have taken it off the shelves.

I've had the 8210 for a year now and have only had one problem which was fixed through my insurance and has been fine since. Great design, easy to use and light. I've mixed feelings with my 8210. I already have it for 3 years : menu is what's Nokia is al about. Plain, simple and intuitive. The phone is stylish, light, and still looks fine, but problem of all : it's damn fragile. The screen has a life on it's own, and you'll easily need to fix it, which doesn't makes it the most economical gsm ever. Battery life sucks cause you'll need to charge after 2 days of normal use. I'm searching for a new mobile which is as simple as a Nokia, but gives me the reliability of a Honda VTEC engine.... any suggestions?

One of the oldest and one of the best, i swoped my Sony Z7 for a Nokia 8210, before that i had a Nokia 3310. I think this phone is a great phone it has a louder ring and better ringtones and it is smaller than the Sony Z7. does anyone know where to get free logos and ringtones from i did get them from Boltblue but they charge you. E-mail me if you know any web sites that send them for free. Nokia phones are the BEST!!

After 3 years the 8210 still is over overpriced! And you get the 6110 in smaller pacage. I wonder why?! For that money you can get an T65 with far greater menu. But it seems that for all Nokia terminal you have to pay more for less quality!

Have just bought an 8210 from the Carphone Warehouse for �129.99 (repackaged). I had a 3310 before but I broke it. After all the bad opinions on the 8210, I will see how long it lasts and then maybe change to an 8310 when the price comes down. I like the fact that the 8210 is really small and light, but I miss Space Impact which is on the 3310. Have decided not to change the fascia as advised in one of the previous messages.

The worst Nokia ever made!! The display goes blank, it switches off. P.S don't change the covers or you will have problems with screen. Rather save some money and buy 8310

One most important feature is TOTALLY MISSING: The Phonebook doesn't show the Entry # of a particular name. Therefore it prevents from using the nice EntryNumber + #sign as a shortcut to the corresponding phonebook entry when you know it.

My favorite phone among my 10+ Nokia models, small, handy, lightweight but lacking the composer and chat features! Just got mine, with a black xpress on cover..nice. Very small/Light/Pocketable, does what I want it to do, make a few calls, easy sms, good calendar options, upto 50 of reminder,call, meeting, or birthday ALL of which can have alarms set to them. Add to this the option of being able to change covers if it gets scratched, good signal, and LOW sar (0.47) I chose this over the 6210 and am glad I did.

if u buy any contract phone and pay insurance well u can ring up and tell them its been stolen theyll send u another 1 the same day and block the old 1 (which u havnt reall lost) u take the blocked 1 to a market and have the networks changed for the cost of �10 and youll have 2 phones the "lost" phone you can sell! and get �100 odd quid 4 it!...MAKE SURE U TAKE THE ID (SILVER PIECE OF PAPER STICKER)OF THE INSIDE OF THE PHONE!!!........dont tell anyone !!!!...its ilegal....THIS IS CUMING FROM A 14 yr old welsh girl !!!!!

I had this phone for nearly and day now and it broke on me. My brother suggested i got my money back. Nokia is very gay with the exeption of 8310,8250 and 6310. 8210 is very gay and stupid people who buy it new are gay. I was very stupid by buying this phone. My friend who is wise told me not to buy this phone, but i was nieve. I should of got a panasonic GD75 like my friend Alana.Troy who is his another wise friend got a 8210 but now know that is not very good but he is trying to get a better phone and he aswell told brian that 8210 is gay. His other Alanis who also wise told brian not to get the nokia 8210. Adrian has a samsung A300. I am gay because i got a 8210.

I hade a Nokia 8210 for two weeks and it had 3 problems! 1.The display shut off all the time when the phone was on, lights only on. 2.SMS messages are 160 charters long but in Nokia 8210 it was only 60! 3.The battery lasted only one day! I returned the phone after two weeks and got my money back. Not a god Phone!
