I bought one in Kenya and I was wasn't (extremely dissapointed) impressed with the battery talk-time period. It performs much lower than 3hrs compared to my minimal talk time per day is 4-5hrs And mind you, to me, it was quite expensive for my expected utility,. The battery has already failed (2009) and when I contacted the agent, surprisingly, they had no solution, while the battery cannot be sourced locally. no longer in production! I have a 8910i series (which I bought in 2003) and its wonderful. The battery last SEVEN (5hrs talk-time) good days without charging. The spare battery has never been used since! This is the kind of phone I would spend a fortune for! Anyone from Nokia who can promise me a similar model......? However, the design and size is the best I admired in the model. This was well researched I must compliment

It is so easy to tell a fake from an authentic one.. If your still unsure then the simple way to do it is email the IMEI number to Nokia and they will instantly tell you whether its fake or real.. Looks it's pretty simple really, if you want to buy a real Carbon Arte then you will only get from reputable sellers, like Carphone warehouse or your Service providers, The real Carbon Arte has 4Gb memory, living wallpapers and tones designed by Kruder and Dorfmeister ( German composers ) It's made from carbon fibre, Titanium and steel. You only have to feel it to know what i am talking about. As for the fools who are wasting their money on fakes, the phones you are buying are worthless no matter what you paid for them. Hi, here is a picture of he authentic carbon arte's box... This photo is from gsmarena, it writes on the bottom of the box made in korea. Also look at the phones sold in ebay.com, they sell it for 100,200,300,400 dollars and it says its made in finland. There is no way to sell the original carbon arte for that price. The cheapest you can get is about 900-1000 euros. I bought my phone from nokia shop about 1250 euros. Also the the fake carbon arte's camera isn't 3.2 mp, its generally 2 mp and they usually dont have a real 4 gb internal memory and has a memory card, the original one doesnt have a memory card. Also when you plug the phone to pc, in the phone menu of the fake one says: 1) Mass storage 2) Webcam 3) COM Port The original never says this.

i have been using this phone for a while now and i feel that this phone has got really nice features .It looks like a million bucks,its a complete life style phone.Even more its slim, feels good in had and can easly fit in anyones pocket.However there is a problem with phone that it dosnt have a good talk time.Nokia has done a great job by desinging this phone but the battery life is just not good.I hope Nokia works on its battery life and software upgrades for this phone .

it's an absolutely gorgeous phone...and that's about it!!! The battery life of it is horrible; that's why they sell it with 2 batteries because they don't last long. Whilst you're busy with a call it just dies on you. They must see to this problem!!!!

I have a nokia 8800 carbon arte from china and its not worth the tin its made of! i,ve owned 2 genuine 8800,s ( first one then the sirocco) and the its terrible! the menu options are not spelt properly, certain apps r in chinese and i seriously doubt its ever seen carbon fibre! my advice is 2 steer clear!

i am having this phone for anout 4 months. Its a very nice and beautifull phone. i bought it 1200 euros in greece. bfore this i owned a saphire arte that seemed a bit more solid while opening and closing. the colors are more beautifull on this phone then at the arte. its got bigger memory better camera then the arte but the carbon fibre gets scratched easily. its an overall nice phone and i like it. i also own a blackberry curve which is full of apps but the arte gives u more the imression of a tool! i hope i helped

Ppl who buy this masterpiece buy its luxurious durable design and the fine materials this phone is made of. I can't understand why some ppl hate this phone cuz it doesn't have the iphone or an N series features.. Not everyone want a toy, some of us want fine well built TOOLS. We all know about other phones with better video recording or touch screen or better gaming etc but not all of us need those features that usually comes in a cheap plastic package. I used to jump from a phone to another till I got 8800 carbon..now I'm fully satisfied with this fantastic built phone. I know of few that still use the original 8800 for 4 years because the phone functions well and put together very well and the design is timeless, they end up paying (less) than so many other consumers for cell phones in 4 years.

FYI to all: Nokia Carbon Arte is made only in Korea and have a price tag 1200 and above. All those handsets saying made in Finland and costing 200-300 USD are made in China and have practically no phisical differences, while the FW in the phone is slightly different from genuine Nokia.

Need help with Genuine Carbon arte identification,hope anyone who has used one of the genuine carbon let me know how to spot the differents between genuine and fake one.Bought 3 already and later realized that they're fakes.One says made in Finland with 4gb memo/Two say made in Korea with 4gb memo/those 3 look and feel like the real one and even have EMEI number registered.It's unbelievable what Chinese can do nowaday regarding copying.It makes Nokia look bad cause they even put Nokia brand name on the phone and classfied as Nokia production.We can buy a Nokia carbon arte on Ebay for around Usd 100.oo.I think it's time for Mr Nokia roll up their sleeve and starting the clean up.Cheers

at first when i bought it, t'was ok. but the longer i use it, the more i like it! unlike any other fone that are flashy and all then simply fades away the more u use it, dis does the opposite and not get tired of it easily. material and build, u get what u pay for. the fuzz abt its funcionality, dis fne though is not for ppol who wants to do a lot of stuff on their fone such as office work docs and all. but if u have a netbook or a portable laptop u cn carry arnd, why do ofc work on a tiny cellphone?

i got the carbon arte after the normal arte and the battery life is alot better! i get 3 days without charging it and thats using about 15-20mins of calls a aday plus using cam,text and mp3. ther is no problem with this phone unless u cannot afford it. the cost aims it to individuals who want to be unique. you dont get that by having a nokia n96 or tocco ultra which anyone could get.

I have this phone and let me be the first to say all the comments here are well off. The phone is more than worth its price. Very nice to look at and feels great in the hand, like it was built to last. Next this may not be a music phone but it does well with the 4 GB of storage and loud speaker. The speaker is as loud as the Nokia 5310 if not louder with very good quality. Whereas with every other 8 series phone the battery life has been bad. The Carbon Arte does its best to excel averaging around 2 days of good use. I used it to listen to music on full volume for 3 to 4 hours both days. If your looking for a phone with GPS and all the perks your looking at the wrong phone, this phone is simply about quality and class. It gets the job done of an average mobile user very well. Now the choice is yours!

i have this phone, and i am happy with it! it feels extremly solid in your hand. its heavy because of the glass and titanium, but thats what makes it special. i really like it. no dust has entered the screen yet, and the back cover hasnt come off either. during a call my phone also becomes warm, but not hot(!). To those who consider buying it: be sure your expectations are in order: thi phone is really just for making calls, texting and showing off. if thats worth more than 1000�/$ for you, then go for it!

I own both - the Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte & the Motorola V9, and honest to God, the Motorola V9 is way better and much more convinence to use. The camera of the V9 much better but the 8800 Arte battery life last longer....I believe it's because the V9 is a much thinner phone with 2 big screens; so the battery consume much faster.

i purchased this phone yesterday as an upgrade for my original Arte. The materials used are of a very high quality. The phone features are basic but wht it does it does well. The quality of call made is good and texting is eay on the keypad. This phone is not about the spec sheet but about the quality and feel of the materials, period! Is it worth �1200, that depends. I personally think it is. But other might want more features for your money. Thats up to you. If you want it, buy it and stop banging on about the price. If not just move on and get the phone best suited to you.

This is a very expensive phone for the basic on a cellular phone. I've had mine for around 4 or 5 months, and the battery isn't to bad. But then again compared to some of the phones that i've had in the past that cost 1/3 price had a lot longer battery(Days longer). But the 8800 series has always had the problem. As i've had the sirocco as well and ran into that problem. Another problem is the longer you have it the back slide starts to become really easy to take off. In fact, too easy, because when you try to slide open your phone for a call the back comes off. If you drop your cellphones a lot, this isn't for you!! I dropped my sirocco once and it was jacked from then on. I haven't dropped my Nokia 8800 Carbon Arte, YET, but i am so scared if i do all that "technology" will go down the drain. But honestly your only paying for the lux of the phone not the specs. Its cool though, just very expensive.

The Aura sux actually from any perspective; either the camera, the OS used(if it has, which it doesnt) or the memory that it offers. N85 is way better and doesnt cost over 2k. Moreoever, Motorola Aura has a small screen + no GPS + no 3G...then what it has? Pretty much nothing except the material that it is used to build the phone that is expensive at a point. Else than the materials, the Aura is crap as it has the save Swivel design as the old Sony Ericsson S700/710. If you do not feel or encounter overheat issue with your phone, there's only the following reasons:- 1. Either you do not own this phone or you never continously talk for over 10-15 minutes with your phone. 2. Judge from your phone standby time of 3 days, you definately don't talk much or don't talk long time with your phone. My phone can only last me one & a half day max. cause I'm quite a heavy talker. 3. You live in a cold places - like Alaska?! I'm tired of the look and overall lousy performance of my 8800 Arte - (the speaker phone is very good though). I'm planning to replace it with the Motorola Aura - I had tried my friend's Aura, and all I can say is awesome! No 8800 Arte come close...

Other than the look, this phone is really not much good to recommand. Don't care what others have to say - this phone, and most Nokia phones do overheat badly! I had the "regular" 8800 Arte, which I changed 9 times for a new one by Nokia because of each one's different probblems. Then I brought the black Sapphire Arte after I got rid of the regular 8800 cos I can't stand the quality problems. The Sapphire Arte also hang once in a while & overheat; but the build quality much improved. Also brought the Carbon Arte & thought it may improve, but in reality nothing have improved for the better. The look is not even as good nor as classic as the Sapphire Arte in the long term! - no wonder the Sapphire Arte is selling at a premium price over the Carbon Art recently! Anyway, these are overheating phones and I'm really not impressed at all - no matter how good looking it was...I'm getting tired of the look too! The con of this phone really over weight the pro!

ok. if you want to buy this phone and you are not sure if its fake or not, I will tell you how? first no one will sell this phone under $1250, second, genuine carbon arte is made in Korea, not in china, only Korea. and open the battery cover it will say 4 gb and 3.2 mega picksel auto focus camera. ok. The point is that it is for people who want to make a phone call. Not surf the web, not play music, not take movies etc etc. I've had two of the Arte units for almost a year and they are easily my favorite phones of all time. The feel of quality in holding the unit in my hand is excellent. Real metal and real glass not plasticated easily scratched rubbish. For those who say it overheats or has bad battery life I think that you may have fakes. Mine have never heated up and I use them for at least 100 mins a day and have yet to run out of battery even when forgetting an overnight charge. I needed just a phone and that is what this unit gave me, I didn't want a camera so cannot comment on its ability. As far as Black or sapphire, the leather on the Sapphire has been known to leech oil from the skin and discolour plus the colour of the unit and the gemstone make it look distinctly girlie. No bloke should carry one (unless the afore mentioned is your particular choice of look) Oh and for those thinking that they're too expensive. Orange UK gave me both for free. I cannot recommend this phone enough for any business user.

Have you guys seen the fake ones, well theres a number of them out there for this phone. Appearing to be the exact replica apart from the functions for e.g camera, memory etc. I found a way you could identify it from the fake. Easily by looking at the patton of the carbon fibre. Just compare it to the real picture of the real thing and you'll see for urself.

Hi Lee, how are you? I have been out of town for a few days! Back in town Sunday but was extremely busy. Only got the time to check out this website now. I"m sorry but I really do not understand what you mean by which version of the Motorola V9! ... I thought there's only one version?! I'm from Hong Kong & Motorola first came out with the maroon colour & then the black colour one. I got rid of my last "regular" 8800 Arte at the time cos all of them that I had owned & changed kept on having different problems. The shop manager of my service provider told me that Motorola is doing a promotion with their V9 by giving away a W181. Also the service provider is giving out a discount of HK$500., so I got my phone for a really low price! It's a simple phone but still more features than the 8800 Arte. After using the V9 for a week, I brought one for my dad & he liked it. He was switching back & forth between the V9 & 8800 to compare which one is better/more suitable for him; and what I noticed was that he don't use his 8800 anymore & finally gave it to my mom! My dad is still using the V9 now & my mom kept on complaining the phone overheat! Although I got rid of my last 8800 Arte, I still though it's a nice looking phone & I also have the preference for slider phones. I finally can't resist the urge to buy another 8800 (this time the Sapphire Arte) & thought that Nokia must have retified & upgraded the phone after so many months...but I was totally wrong! Just after a few days that I brought the Sapphire Arte, they came out with the Carbon Arte & I thought they must have improved & I was wrong again!!! My brother-in-law also asked me to buy one for him because he had tried mine & he picked the maron colour. The only problem with the V9 is the battery, which do not last long enough for people like me & my in-law; cos we talk a lot on the phone daily! Anyway, battery in a slim phone rarely last as long as battery in a thicker phone. Motorola came out with the shiny gold colour & couple different colours with their V9, which I noticed from show windows. I believe the dark blue colour one is the newest colour & also my favourate. Well, colour is very personal. One big advantage of flip phone is that you can take your own picture by using the outer screen as the view finder. I do not need a phone to show off. I just put in an order for an Aston Martin DBS touchtronic, and I'm not buying it mainly for showing off ... I just like the car bacause it looks nice inside out. Just wish that it will perform as well as it look?! You won't go wrong with the Moto V9 as long as you are paying a reasonable price. Update me...

Lee, if you are not in a rush to spend your money on a new phone, why not wait for the Motorola Aura & compare it to the 8800 Arte. If you definately need 3G capability, then forget about the MotoAura & just go for for the 8800. If I were you, I'll definately give myself one more choice. Your Samsung Touch is a good phone & I had brought 2 (coral pink) for my 2 sisters. I personally do not like touch screen phones cos it's dangerous to use when I drive...even your Samsung with heptic feedback is still not as good as a regular keypad - at least for me. Anyway, I have a phone in my car. I had the Prada phone before, but it's not so good. I still have the Motorola Ming (also a touch screen phone) with me because I need it to write Chinese SMS messages when I travel to China. I do not have any idea which country you are from, but I want to recommand the Motorola V9 to you - it's an excellent phone for calls & the price in my country is only 1/4 the price of the 8800 Arte. I think it's an excellent buy, and it's really a practical phone for daily use (I have the black colour one but I saw a blue colour one yesterday & want to buy it too! If the V9 is no good, I would not have the thought of getting rid of both of my 8800 Arte & buy another Motorola V9!). Anyway, the V9 is a 3.5G phone & have video call feature; where as the 8800 is without. In the beginning when the 8800 Arte came out, I really can't resist the look of the phone & I must have to own it! Now that after a period of time & frustration with my numerous 8800 Artes, the Arte is not fresh to me anymore...but more of a nuisence! Can't give you any comment on the MotorolaAura cos I have not seen or try the real thing yet, but it does look real nice in the review by Mobile-review.com I still suggest for you to go and check out the Motorola V9; if the selling price is reasonable in your country. I was going to buy the HTC Diamond when it first came out (I only need to pay 60% the price of the phone on a promotion...approx. US$450.), but the speaker sound quality is lousy & too quiet. The reaction of the phone is also very slow. The battery sucks from what I heard from friends! Look nice & features are excellent. I may get one if they improve the software. G2G, Good Day.

I currently have a Samsung Tocco but I really can not get on with touchscreen phones so that is why I am looking to change back to Nokias and especially the Arte. I must admit the black Arte does interest me the most and this is the one I fancy going for. The Tocco has a 5MP camera and it is very very good but I do not really use it and I am relly looking for a mobile phone to be just a phone, not for internet useage, not for a MP3 player, but of course want to make a bit of a statement when I pull my mobile out of my pocket. Lee, trust me - I have both the Black Sapphire & Carbon, and the Black Sapphire is definately better looking in the long run. I used to have the original 8800 Arte & I brought quite a few (8 of them as present for business associates in China). The Chinese people love it because it mean high class to them. i myself got rid of mine cos I encounter build quality issue with mine...including software & hardware problem! I like the look of the 8800 Arte, which is why I picked up a Black Sapphire Arte & hoping Nokia improve on the original Arte. After one week that I brought the Sapphire Arte, Nokia came out with the Carbon Arte & I also brought one cause it looked different from the dark colour of the other 8800 Arte. Look is very personal, so pick any Arte model you fancy. I must tell you that I have hanging problem most of the time when I take a picture with my Sapphire Arte, I have to restart the phone again!...don't seem to have the same problem with the Carbon yet?! This show me that Nokia really have inconsistant build quilty! The camer is really useless - slow & low quality! Another con is that finger prints are all over the phone after use & then the slider become slippery to open or close! The biggest let down is the overheat issue - I really can't stand it! My advise for you is to test the phone before you buy...try continous talk for 15 minutes & see if the phone will overheat badly or not, and if you can accept it. If you only use for phone for short period of conversations, then this is not an issue for you. My mom also using a 8800 Arte & she rarely talk long with her mobile phone, but there was one time she called me up & asked me why her 8800 overheated so badly & if I can take it for her to fix. I told her there's nothing can be done except chang to another brand because this is a common issue with most Nokia phones! Anyway, I'm getting a Motorola Aura soon cos I'm really tired of these 8800 Arte. The only thing that's missing in the Motorola Aura is 3G capability!!! Hope my comment can help you?!

And where do you find a quality in this handset? I had one, sold three weeks later. Battery life is up to 3 hours and it�s only for a first few charges, and then goes down to two hours NO JOKE! It�s like Corvette with no engine. Wakeup people! Charge it make one 5 min phone call and battery half used. Buy the phone, and your friend will know you by one, who can�t talk, or any time can get disconnected.

This phone is like the difference between a pair of Gucci shoes and Nike shoes. It's true that you can buy imitation 8800 Arte anywhere in China easily. The exterior look & feel is almost 100% like the real thing - e.g. the fake Sapphire Arte have genuine leather just like the real thing! Anyone can tell the difference between the real one & the fake one by just switching on the phone, cos the stuff inside are not the same. Anyway, if anyone just care for the look, it's not a bad idea to have the imitation one for just around US$100.

But almost all retail stores online are still selling this phone for like $1300 and up, what a big difference! Will you guys buy something like this from ebay? The carbon Arte is not as good a seller as the Sapphire Arte. I have both & they are both of them are nice looking to me. The problem is that other then the look, the 8800 Arte is not such a good phone to use...the low quality & slow acting camera is almost useless & the phones have severe overheat problem (my mom also use a 8800 Arte & she complain of the same overheat issue)! I'm also using a Motorola V9 & personally I think that it's a much better phone overall & the price I paid for it is less than 1/3 the price of the above mentioned 8800 Arte. Btw, most of the time I only leave both of my 8800 Arte in my study room's drawer cos I really don't enjoy using them as my daily phone! ... mind you that majority of the time I use my phones mainly for conversation purpose & messages.

I have problem with capturing picture with my Carbon Arte & also my Sapphire Arte...after I press the shutter & had the picture taken, the phone just hang! Yes after 3 days of using the Carbon arte, the back plate started coming off. brought is back to nokia and within another week of getting it replaced, it is coming off again exposing the glue. I am getting rid of this phone.

There was a problem in previous 8800 Arte reported by some owners which was loose glued plate on the back side of the earpiease, I was wondering if that issue has been repeated in Carbon Arte again? Thanks in advance for any reply.

Yes, titanium & carbon fibre are much lighter than steel. The carbon version still weighs the same as the other Arte models simply because, the carbon is just an add on & as for the titanium probably is titanium color coated. The body is still made of steel & thats the reason for the 150gm. If the complete phone is really made of carbon & titanium. Nokia would not be selling at this price.

will cost you around 850 pounds here in UK, n ya if you can't afford it, please don't blame it. there are lots of efforts to make such master model. it has saffire crystal glass which get used in luxury watches. have it in your hand once, if possible, roam around with it in crowd, n then you will not criticise. N one more thing only Nokia can dare to make something like this. its not made for ordinary people whos one three months salary is equal to cost of this.

Just like my Sapphire Arte, the only let down is the terrible quality & very slow acting, auto focus 3.2MP camera, still using the same old V5 S40 platform with those tiny fonts & the dim screen(even adjusted to max. brightness)! Nokia, don't just sell on looks & material...I'm not asking for a lot of functions; but what came with this phone is not all good!... For example, the sound quality & speaker phone is loud & clear, which is excellent. The camera is extremely lousy... small screen is acceptable in a narrow phone like this; but small fonts are difficult to read!!! My above comment apply to all Nokia 8800 Arte models.

Yes, it is true when you say carbon or titanium it should weight lighter and more durable than stainless steel. I guess I missed the part about looking at the weight of the phone. I haven't received the phones yet. Anyway, if the phone is still the same weight as the previous models, then the phone is coated with titanium and carbon only with stainless steel inside still??? Nokia, must explain... But I kind of like the feel of heaviness of my old 8800, but nokia must really explain to people why the phone still weights the same. Again, I purchased 2 phones (1 sapphire and 1 carbon)from my local retail store here, And I told the store that both phones should be made in finland. I really don't mind with the same weight coz I prefer more solid feel. But again and again Nokia must explain the carbon part and the titanium part... Still waiting...

I will get this carbon phone and then I will get my wife the sapphire arte, and then I'm done visiting cellphone websites for a long time, coz technology just doesn't end. It's the fact guys, it's a never ending " I want this, I want that" craziness over a cellphone. Here's my opinion and I hope my opinion will shower all of your heads with clarity. If you want serious most advance technology piece, then go for a compact lightweight laptop for crying out loud. If you want some music or videos on the go or you are just addicted on touching screen and all that then go for an apple i touch. This is my way of dressin up myself if I want some really cool device on the go... Feature and looks wise the nokia arte will be good for another 5 and more years guaranteed. And 90 percent of the usage will be for phone calls. Next thing you know they will be discontinuing this model and a lot of people will be looking for to buy this in the future, coz not too many phones created as good looking as this and feature wise the phone has 4gb internal, to me thats enough for quick shootin pics and short videos for emergency. Ok, seems like all of us are going in circle here... I know Nokia kept repeating the same phone for many times now. But I have to admit this phone is a keeper! Not for performance or features but for a collection! The features in it are well suited for mobile users for the next 5 years or more guaranteed. Next thing you know Nokia will be discontinuing this phone and a lot of people will cry coz this phone will actually look a lot cooler than future phones! That's my personal opinion though! My wife likes the nokie arte sapphire and I actually wish for a better color and this carbon version really caught my attention! I will be getting the sapphire for my wife and I will be getting this carbon for my self. And I won't be visiting gsmarena or other websites for a long long time coz it won't just end! And thats a fact! You can't control or end technology! After buying this phones, then I will focus on really light and compact laptop, coz I believe no cellphone can top the advancement or technology over a very compact and light laptop. In other words if you really want some serious downloading or excellent graphic games or be more organized than the rest of the folks then I suggest that you guys buy a laptop instead! I hate to see u all crying for features and more advance technology on a freaking phone. To all of you! Having no Autofocus Nor flash anything over 3.2 MP would be useless as a camera, 3.2 is good enough if you dont involve a flash and autofocus. Just remember that Nokia have the N-Series for the full on Specs. The 88** phones are just unique, fashion "look at me". Its like a car. Compare a Ford Fiesta to a Ford Mondeo. U just cant because they're purposely built for a specific purpose.

I love the build of the 8XXX series phones. That being said, why can't Nokia implement this kind of build on an "N" series phone? I mean, they don't have to use such high-end materials as this, but an "N" series phone made of glass & metal would be great. I am truly disappointed at the build of Nokia's handsets lately. The N96 is 1000 bucks, & is made entirely out of plastic. If you are willing to fork out $1000.00, whats an extra $150.00 for metal & glass??...doesn't make sense. It's getting old. Even LG are using much better materials on their mid-tier phones. Nokia have good designs, but really need to step up their game in the build quality department.

Well a lot of people said the same thing about the Nokia 8800 Sirocco as they do this phone and did i listen to them? NO! I bought it anyways! A couple of things that are obvious about this phone are that its way overpriced and that its just a simple phone. But i guess thats what hooks some people into buying it. I personally love the phone! A clean and fresh look with simple functions, you know the basics, but again very expensive. I wish more people on here would talk about the functions on the phone other than if they like it or not, because thats not going to help or hurt my decision on buying it! I wish they would knock of around $500 dollars on this one because honestly your just paying for a shiny paperweight. I don't have the phone as of yet but i am going to get one. Jayjay, this is for you. Not only you can buy two N95 8GB for the price of one 8800. You can also can buy dozens & dozens of N2626 for the price of one 8800. Put it another way, you can buy a few dozens of Proton Iswara for the price of one Lamborghini Gallardo.If everybody thinks like you & fortunately we are not then there wouldn't be a market for the 8800.

I have used the 8800 sirocco and i can tell you that this phone is obviously for style than feature. The phone feels VERY nice and solid. The slider is a bit different for others and will need to get a bit used to. This phone is sort of like and upgrade, some better feature and a sexier look.

It depends on what you're looking for. Nokia's are really great all around devices. Great call quality and battery life, plus the newer Nokia's don't suffer from lag issues so the symbian OS works fantastic. If you're a big time messenger go for the E71. It's got every feature under the sun, is super thin, has an amazing week long battery life and a full hardware qwerty keypad, not to mention it's very pocket friendly. If you don't care too much for camera and are fine with an alpha numeric pad, the e51 or 6301 are really good phones. All these phones have wi-fi and pretty much any feature you can think of, and all have excellent build quality, reception, and call quality to boot. If you want a good camera on a tight budget and don't care for wi-fi, a full keypad or 3g, but still want a good mp3 player and good build quality, the Samsung g600 is an excellent choice. Hope this helps.

The 8 series is not meant to be an all in one phone. i tried this phone out at a mobile convention here in Stockholm, and honestly, they could have at least put some sort of symbian OS in it, now it's just a menu where you can look in the calender and set alarmtime, and if you want to, even take pictures, and it's heavy like no other, but the same time the weight felt evenly balanced and quite comfortable due to the nice material and how it feels in the hand, you can feel the luxury, you don'r have too look at it, so it's basically just a old school phone software wise, with some heavy eyecathing bling bling status of it's own, if that's what u r after.

There's always arguments with this type of phones, where people state boldy that it isn't the worth paying for the number of features it has etc etc. I've had 8800, 8800 Sirocco, and yes they did not please me in terms of functions. I got bored of it rather too quick & had to change them. However, I do want to note that, I would want them back, because they are flawlessly made phones, wonderfully grafted & the design is timeless. It's a different class of phone all together from any other, and you cannot compare it with 'normal' feature-packed-media phones.

If the original Arte is anything to go by, this AU$1500 phone will have dust behind the screen, parts of the phone coming apart and not feel like such an expensive phone should. I really wanted to like the Arte, hey, I bought it, and had it replaced four times because of the above mentioned issues. Alas, I gave up and swapped for another phone as Nokia does not even have quality when it comes to phones this expensive. Forget their crap about being exclusive, it's made on a production line like all the other mass market Nokia phones, only difference is that there is a bit more steel in it.
