I have been using this phone for a while now.. I was lucky enough to be able to buy this one at GH.. still looks brand new.. its a good phone.. easy to use.. the battery life is better compared to the 1st one.. and one best thing I can say about it, its very seldom or definitely rare to bump or to see another person using.. so its like being unique..

just had this phone and I'm using it right now.. its a great phone.. though they just altered few specifications when it comes to this phone.. because I also did use the original 8800.. the 1st version of 8800 is better when it comes to its design.. the keypad and design itself compared to sirroco.. but sirroco has a better battery life.. and has a better camera.. but if I were to choose I still choose the 1st 8800 only with the battery life of sirroco..

I don't know why you consider it such an ac complisment the fact that you bought Sirocco......I don't know where you live,but in my country if you know the right people you can buy a sirocco or a 8600 luna in a good condition for 50�,a 8800 arte or sapphire for around 120�......Understand that the 8800 series is not luxiours eny more!....It's not like when it was launched with 1000� a phone!...Things have changed!

Sirocco is a luxury phone judging by it's looks...but it stopped being one judging by it's price....A sirocco in a good condition in my country is around 50-60�....Since this phone has been discontinued for a long time it's very unlikely that you will find a new one on the on-line stores! They are 99% refurbished!

I recommend everyone before buying this phone to know where it is made, most of the Nokia 8800 on the web are FAKE made in China, they work well just for a couple of months , the original 8800 is made in GERMANY, this phone is not cheap at all if you are buying this phone at the range of 200 tp 300 it is probably fake

One of the worst phones ever. Crap battery life, about 50% of them came back with problems and it did pretty much nothing. It was a classic more money then sense purchase. You'd be better off buying a Nokia 1661 or kicking old skool styles with a 510. At least they worked.

Well, I bought the 8800 Sirocco Black Arte on March 2007, loved it for 2 years and never had any problems with it, NEVER. But then I was getting bored with it so I bought the Gold Arte in March 2009, had it since then. It is Nov 11 2010 and I've been all around the world, everybody loved it and were very amazed to see a master-piece like this. My Gold Arte is still in Mint Condition. 9.5/10 Overall

Ok,since nowone is posting here but maybe some before buying the phone are reading opinions i will try to share the most important thing i believe are relevant for this phone. First of all it is a really beautiful phone. It is scratch resistent to a point of course. It really is a fingerprint magnet so you should have something to clean it(cotton t-shirt will do) on the black version finger marks are more visible. The screen is pretty small so if you have problemes with your eye sight this might not be the right phone for you. The slide of the phone is powered by some strong strings designer to last. The keypad of the phone is small and thin fingers are an advantage. Dont have eny expectations with the camera or using the net. Still it can open simple web pages but it takes forever. To download a song it takes around 5 minutes. The sound is not that loud but it's very clear. By the way i forgot i full casing in my country without the keypad is 70�. This phone is beautiful and i believe it's worth having one.

The 8800 arte appeared after the sirocco. The arte has over the sirocco a couple of advantages. A tad bigger OLED display compared to sirocco 's tft display, the bigger memory of 1GB compared to sirocco's 128mb, the arte has 3G sirocco does not, a better camera( still don't have high expectations from 8800 series camera) . I have sirocco it's a beautiful phone but what they say in the review is true you always have to carry a cleaning clooch with you. I had the opportunity to buy an arte so i was able to compare them. They both are gorgeous phones. I like very much my sirocco but i have to be objective . Go for the arte.

The phone has that function it's the same thing as dialing*#7780# but it only brings the phone to factory settings. I was talking about a hard reset because i was thinking that you have a bug. So try *#7370#. It should work on nokia. This will delete everything on your phone (songs,contacts and others) and hopelly the bug. Other than that i really don't hnow what is wrong with your phone. Did you bought it from the the black market? There are so many bastards in every country that sell fake chinese copies or damaged originals. By the way have you tried connecting it to nokia pc suite? Try to give it the the hard reset with the*#7370# maybe this will take care of your problem.

Some chinese copies answer to all the nokia codes but the chinese don't think can duplicate the specific ringtones and themes of sirocco with accuracy. Have you tried to format it? Maybe you have a bug or something in your phone. Maybe doing a reset is the solution. Try that and tell me the results.

You probably dialed*#06# for the imei. Some chinese copies answer to that code. Have you used the*#0000# to disply the software versions? And the fact that it sais made in finland is not an indicator. But i don't want to jump to conclusions. Maybe you installed more aplications(games,music or other things) then you might have thought .

Looks like nobody is posting here anymore. Got a black sirocco( wished it was white) but no matter. Very solid built , very nice. Knew before what to expect of it. It took 10 minutes to download just one song but the sound is very clear. Not going to keep it enyway going to give it as a present.

To all people who might want one of this....luxury phones. In my country a second hand sirocco in a good condition is sold for about 60�. And the same with arte and saphire they cost around 150�. Visit Romania and you can get all the arte saphire oxigen i mean carbon that you want.

I have had this phone since the summer of 2006, have upgraded twice in that time but keep reverting back to the trusty old 8800, its quite simply the best phone I have ever had, fits perfect in any pocket, you wont even know you are carrying it, great on a night out. The device is bullit proof, in four years of heavy use;and being dropped a time or two, it has never let me down. It comes with a desk top charger so the limited talk time has never been an issue. I would recomend this phone to any non tech freak who wants a phone that looks and feels great. It simply will not let you down

Hi there. Firstly, no ringtones running continuously for 4 days, for what??? Everybody knows that running ringtones will just cut every phone's battery life, volume level and type of songs will decide the life of the phone as well. The phone was never off at all. I want to comment to all Sirocco hater, i wrote not because i had it, even i want it, 'cause it's expensive thing that i have not yet buy. Let me explain how about precious car made it, it has used a lot of gasoline so do the Sirocco, and feature, same as Sirocco but the desain, make head turn, limited edition, it's special. This is sure not for everyone, does Ferrari, Porche, Lamborgini for Everyone, Toyota, Honda, Fiat of course. So for everyone who don't likes this don't judge and write a negative thinking, if you don't like just stay away, there's another model from nokia for you, i'm sure it's for everyone who want to get an elegance, different like suit from butique. After all, if someone have a lot of money, how to spent their money if not buy something high, and if i become a millionaire, i would buy three of siroccos of course, and make that thing in special. Because that things, show me who i'm, a success people or celebrity or etc etc, so if you want to give a negative comment for this, look at you, who are you, then make a comment. Because it's expensive i do bought sirocco lite, mean 6700 classic and the material like sirocco and i can fell how precious, elegance, classis and high price of sirocco was made from Nokia. And thanks to Nokia wich made 6700 classic so i can fell Sirocco on it......

This is the best Nokia 8 series phone! I bought it and it works perfectly. And if you want it to talk, organise your meetings, etc, this is your phone!! Really great! You can be sure that, where you go, people will look at your phone and say:" Wow... cool phone..." haha!

BEWARE of this model. There has recently been an influx of this phone (8800 Sirocco BLACK) to the market. Sellers claim it is NEW or whatever and selling it around 500 to 700 US dollars. I would like to warn those who are alert that HK and CHINA recently produced tons of these. I don't know if those are fakes, but it has been flooding the ASIAN markets recently without warranties or any sort of company acknowledgments. Please beware and buy with caution.

becareful if buying sirocco from ebay since this model has been discontinued. i bought one from ebay last time, its just awful and dodgy item everything is just fake!!! from the handset to the accessories. eventhough some seller claims that theirs are brand new, most of them are just recondition item. especially if the seller is from hongkong, you should be aware. good luck

All nokia phones that have alarm and can play mp3s have that option. Sony ericsson's have that option as well. But do not go for samsung or lg as some of the models only have preset tones.....

I have had this phone now for almost 2 years! Whilst the battery life is not great, nor is the memory card, there are 2 batteries and so many other accessories included. However, the phone looks outstanding, has given me no problems and if looked after still looks as good an elegant as new! If it continues to last, is definetly worth the price that was paid for it

I've had my Sirocco for bout 18months now and i've experienced all the probs that everyone has listed. The battery life is low, theres scratches on my "scratch resistant" screen, my fone turns off randomly, my charger broke, music player is crap, camera is crap, video is even worse. And last week the power on the phone completely went, after switchin on the fone the screen went blank and turns off again, so had to send it off to fix, costin me �45 and don't know when i'll get it back and if it will be working again, apparently it's got something to do with the software. If i'd known all this then i wud have never wasted my money in the first place. I'd say it's more for business use than anythin else, but i felt privlidged to own one Good points: Looks sexy and i once stored 6,000 text msgs in my inbox! (",) Overall, i wouldnt recommend buyin the phone, its overly priced and is all hype. It was hard to get one in the first place n then a couple of months later they release a gold one for nearly a grand!! From now on i'll prob stick to Sony Ericssons

I bought this phone when it was first released, and payed a ridiculous amount for it. After 2 months of using it, it stopped working!! (It would 'freeze' then switch itself of after the nokia logo and jingle). I was informed i would need to have it reflashed, apparantly quite a common problem occuring in these phones. I had data which is invaluable to me, stored upon my phone, which i could not afford to lose. I am told if i reflash the phone all of the data shall be deleted! And there is no other way for me to save it, as unlike other phones, the Sirocco does NOT allow for data cable usage. (There is no port of connection, or cable available). The only way to save data is via bluetooth, but as it freezes after the Nokia logo, i am unable to use this function! So i recommend to anyone, do not buy this phone, if you do then do NOT store vital data upon it!! other than that, it does look amazing!

For Lorraine B...this code thing appears when you try to connect to a phone right? If so..the thing is easy..when the phone asks for the code type in your PIN code..and then the other phone will ask for the same code..type your PIN there too..this is how the two devices are paired up and you have it in your Bluetooth devices list. Hope my advice was of help!

ive had my sirocco now for just over 1 year, already onto my second one! The phone will restart when in a call (10+ mins) randomly and sometimes quite slow on startup. had the 8850 and 8910i before this and love the way the phone is put togather! Even tho i have some scratches on my "scratch free glass".. would highly reccomend to anyone looking for a classy phone that will always be special!

Lady's and Gentlemen, I purchased this beauty (8800 Sirocco) with the idea that I would have no problems with it working on the North American or United States At&t Network. Wrong! Multimedia problems, it may send a Picture, it may not. The reception is some times less than perfect compared to other phones that I have used. I called Nokia for support and was told it was not a phone offered in the United State's I was on my own if anything failed to work. I love the look and have had numerous complements on it. If you reside in the United states and considering a purchase know it may have it's drawbacks. The simple truth may help one make a good decision. Well as for me, i'll go for the Arte. I think that's pretty dumb not to consider the features if you're going to compare two phones. How can one possible come up with a decision between the two with considering what each one offers? Arte's display capability is better, at 16m colors, that's where the difference starts.

This was then noticed by the Nokia, just because individuals would prefer to purchase phones like this that is so expensive without any remarkable features, it was then a perfect time for them (Nokia) to make another business strategy that would lead them to increase in marketing sales & eventual career growth. People tend to settle for this kind of model without firstly considering the features it carries, for them price doesn't matter, it's the fame it gets! So, the 8800 class will never get out of the way for this is the chance for the company to sell their high-end phones, with fully loaded features at a higher price notch! This & the previous model 8800 are beautiul phones, but I'm having this dilema now, that I need more than just a phone, because all this phone is, is a phone. True, it is stunningly beautiful, but I need more than that; at least I need a decent camera (such as LG Prada, SE K850i, Nokia N73, N82, Samsung G600, G800) and a decent MP3 player which won't run out of battery in 30mins. I must say, it's awful to see 8800 Arte coming out so soon, while I was getting used to this baby. Sirocco is just beauty, though Nokia finally realised luxury also means bigger screen and better interface because honestly, when I laid my hands on 8800 Sirocco for the first time, I was very disappointed, everything but the design, was terrible. 8600 Luna is better, in that at least it has a likeable menu etc. 8800 Arte seems to be the way forward, though I'll keep Sirocco for some more time.

Had this phone for quite a while, it is still holding up well. Slide mechanism hasn't deteriorated at all, still the same solid metal feel every time I slide it. The shiny metal bit doesn't scratch that easily either. The leather protector it comes with is the best phone protector I have ever used. Not one scratch on this baby.

I absolutelty love the Nokia 8800 sirocco model because of the elegant look but I strongly feel that it is way too overpriced since it lacks very important features. I would be more keen to buy it if Nokia were to upgrade the features or software in the phone to match those of the current Technology. Bling, Bling...! I have had the phone for six months and I love it. People always look at it twice and ask where they can get one. The anti-scratch sapphire glass has saved me a lot of times...wish i could say the same for the metal housing...a few scratches here and there, which come off with a good wipe. Things you need to be mindful of is, low battery life and not loud enough speaker. A lot of times have to put on loud speaker to clearly hear the call in public areas. If you after status and functionality...go for it!

Hi all, been reading all your comments re:Sirocco... You know, Nokia limit the fuctions in purpose on the 8series phones...for one simple reason...if it has a massive spec camera,loads of GB and expandable memory etc etc then it would become 'common' this way Nokia limit the phone to have some of the features most people moan about hence keeping it exclusive...as for being common...it never will be...think about the 8850/8890 or the 8910i?? they were never common...and the 8800 series will also never be common...people just moan too much...if you want a mp3? buy an ipod...better than any phones mp3 capability. The sirocco is specal to hold, it feels nice...yeh the ringtones are not all that....BUT they will only be on a Sirocco - no other phone...these little things make it stand out...for me personally...i loved the original 8800, still have it and sometimes swap from Sirocco....the original 8800 was 1mm thinner which if you hold the two the difference is apparent. As for the battery? well the Sirocco comes with the BP-6X battery which lasts longer than the BP-5X that came with the original 8800 - if you have the original 8800 then get the BP-6X battery - you will see a massive difference! All in all...it's down to personal preference really...forget the cost of it...Nokia 8series phones have always been speacial....not loaded with massive fuctions...just the stuff you really need from a phone...if you like things that a little different,special to hold then get one...if not...well there is plenty out there to choose from...stay happy! :)

just got my new sirocco. excellent phone and looks very stylist. kicks butt on the plastic crap currently out there in the market which don't even last a year. phone does exactly what i need it to do send and receive calls, texts and pictures. don't understand why people go on about the technology, software music, camera etc etc on phones. simply a phone is a phone want to listen to music get an ipod want to take a picture get a digital camera. for those thinking about getting this phone i would recommend it.

The phone is absolute rubbish, im off to the repair shop today cos mine wont even turn on. looks stunning i will give it that, feels great, but the features are awful, the battery life is poor and i cant have a conversation on it without it cutting out. maybe mine is just faulty but rgardless the phone should be kept behind glass like an ornament not used.

Attention: Don't buy from e-buy-global.com ! It's strange that they got mobile phones 70% cheaper, e.g. 8600 Luna - $150. It's that odd, that it doesn't even cover production expenses... So, my advice: don't even write to them. They aren't really from Italy! Their host is somewhere in Israel! It might aswell be some kid playing around behind his PC, and getting his money off our backs. When I asked for their company's registration number, business rate, or something like that, the director replied to me they haven't got it for anybody. I just purchased the Sirocco Gold edition, this is a must have if your trying to present yourself. The phone definately is an eye catcher but is also rather expensive. So hopefully will not be as common as the Sirocco!

I've got the new 8800 Sirocco just recently and have noticed that the when you make or recieve a phone call, the earpiece audio on the handset is very poor. Almost sounds like the device is loose. When the volume is on 1 it sounds crystal clear, but you can't hear anything outside on volume 1, when it moves onto 4-5, the earpiece starts to rattle, and on 10, it is inaudiable. Has anyone else has this problem? Is this a design fault? Or poor craftmanship? I've had the 8800 original and the audio was perfect, just the poor battery life.

I think the original 8800 is better looking that the sirocco and the luna non have good features so just on looks and style the 8800 black and special edition are nicer. The 8800 doesn�t seam to scratch as badly as the sirocco and are much more user friendly day to day. I had an original 8800 and went to a sirocco and got rid and bought my black 8800 and I have not owned a better phone. Any one that has gone from an 8800 to sirocco and feels the same let us know. The best thing about the sirocco is the bat, head set and leather case that I kept.

i have sirocco and n95(that was before). I decided to keep the sirocco and replaced n95 with e90. i still like this sirocco, in fact i let my n95 exchanged with e90, and definitely no regrets, i ve got the best of both worlds. elegance of sirocco, and functionality of e90.

Some people really like putting hate on this phone. I have this phone and it is my favorite. No unnecessary features, easy to use, and does not feel like a cheap plastic phone, which is incredibly rare these days. Yeah, for tech junkies, this phone just won't cut it but for people who are out there to present themselves, this phone is unparalleled for charms. In terms of quality, this phone is definitely going to last years. My 8810 lasted 3 years of use and now just needs a new battery. I am hoping the sirocco will last just as long without any real damage to the slide mechanism and the buttons.

Hi , for most people , they would not know the differance between the Sirocco and the the Luna , since the first 8800 series lanunch in 2005 , { 8810 was launch in 1998 } , I have became a big fan of them and became the proud owner , from my point of view , i think the sirocco is better than the 1st 8800 , better material , better battery life and i absoultely love the front , but since the Sirocco became too popular and i can easily see everyone having them , the fact is i got very jealous which is because everyone have the same phone , which means it is far too common . 8600 luna is actually a classy twin of the 6280 or the 6300 , but in a very classy cell . the fact i bought the 8 series is because they look great , not too common and not everyone could afford them , people who can afford 8600 luna would probably go for something useful such as N95 . I think the Luna is a cheaper version is because if you go to the high street , the Sirocco is actually charging a higher price than the Luna , everyone knows and is a fact . But since the Sirocco went on the market last November [ im not sure but i bought my sirocco in january ] it was an disappiontment which is because although it is far better than the 8800 , but still have not reach my needs . And when you open the box of the Sirocco , you would know the differance , the Sirocco comes with 2 batteries , a classy charger and in a very luxury package , but the Luna looks cheap compare to the Sirocco , from my point of view , if you buy a phone when their looks , buy the sirocco , but if you want a classy phone with a brain , buy the Luna , it is far better than the Sirocco . But I must warn you , you cant compare the Nokia N series with the 8 series , because they were made for different people with different needs , for me , i got the best of both worlds , the N95 and the 8600 . I really like my luna ,it shines .... like a little star . I think the Sirocco is more like a girls phone because the buttons on the phone is too small , but the Luna had made an improvement , i still miss my Sirocco , although the Luna is like a year newer and times better than the Sirocco , but i still think Sirocco is classier than the Luna , you will know what i mean when you put both phones on your hand . But if you really like the Luna , you have to be quick which is because they will become too popular ....

Bought it, don't regret it. My battery lasts 4-5 days which is better then other phones i use. If the camera quality is so important, then use a camera. I don't understand why people keep going on about camera features on a phone. �T'S A PHONE, you use it for phone calls. People should also learn how to charge their phones properly. That said, it could do with louder speakers.

i have had the sirocco for 4 months now, already had it replaced once. Has anyone else found a white screen lag, and secruity keypad guard stuffing up? its strange Nokia hasnt relased a firmwire upgrade as of yet.. My leather case has just about lasted, started to peel at the edges.. and batterty life is alrite, i get 3-4 days with bluetooth and daily rate of calls i had the 8850 Gold, 8910 and then the 8910i.. all lovely phones and just as wrapped with the Sirocco.. Its simple and thank god it doesnt have the Sybian software like the N series!!

My standard has lasted over 4 day on a single charge with calls. People need to learn how to charge their phones properly before complaining about battery life. Hey Umair, if I want to buy a TOY then I would consider the N95, maybe. Be honest dude, you will never use half of those ridiculous features anyway. Learn to read a map, take pictures with a proper camera otherwise the pictures not worth taking anyway. Stop being a gadget geek and join the real world.

I don't care about the loads of junk features that people talk about and never use, and what an ordeal it is to charge it, all those seconds wasted. it's not about the features that they have in this phone. it's about the look, the design, materials. if you looking for the mp3, camera quality, a lot of functions, then this phone is not for you. if you want to look good, and showing off your phone, then this is the one. this phone is like a luxury watch, it's the material and design that count not the function. i have gone from the Nokia 8801 in silver to the nokia 8800 gold edition to the Nokia 880o sirocco gold plated edition, the phones are all absolutely beautiful to look at, extremely durable, but the volume is absolutely TOO LOW, i have lost connection during calls plenty of times with all 3 phones (it is not my provider because my new phone has no drop calls) The key pad is very tiny, even for my hands as a woman (big fingers watch out) and the biggest thing to worruy about would have to be the constant agony of making sure you dont, lose, scratch, break or get your phone stolen considering the hefty price tag you have just paid, Nokia has way better phones at affordable prices, i guess 3 times is a charm with me, goodbye to all Nokia 8800's and 8801 for me!

The B&O phone has got no speaker phone! No feature to talk about!!! Even mobile phone sales (I konw them very well cause I'm a regular customer) tell me not to buy it!.....when I mention that B&O phone; they all laugh! The camera is placed at an uncomfortable angle! The worst thing with the B&O is the dailling pad......if you use one hand to hold the phone & dial a phone number, almost every time you will touch the middle big round dial......the end result is that you have to press end & redial the number again (this is very annoying!!!) Conclusion:- 8800 is a million times better!!!

Win...You obveously didn`t try the B&O phone, yes its made by Samsung, but noting to do with there own phones witch I dont like eather...the technology, graphic, and features are 10 times better than the sirocco,(witch i gave to my wife)... I am a big fan of nokia, to work I use the E65 (best business phone I have tried so far (asside the O2) the B&O phone is attractive and cool...especially with the Louis Vuitton case especially made for it!!! i just purchased one . for once i like taking my phone out and knowing that the person beside me doesnt have one. i had the 8800 and i loved it made a huge mistake when i brought the n95 im not that type of person . i sold the n95 after a week . i brought it the first day it came out and wanted to throw up when i went in a shop and the customer next to me was showing of his to his friends. plus when i sold it i couldn't believe that in a week the price dropped 50 e. my sirocco will stay with me until the next luxury phone comes out. these days you can own a crappy phone and still stand out with shops putting jem stones and other bling to suit your taste. its all about taste . and money . this is the best phone ever.

One thing I really like on this Sirocco is, it not a common phone.. Not too much people buy this because 1. it is very expensive 2. price never goes down like phones made of plastic 3. does not have so much function so people dont buy it 4. and lastly whoever has it manifests high class taste on mobile phone... I dont mind other funtions because I can have a PDA unit with bigger screen, very good resolutioin, multi functions from bluetooth, to WIFI, to GPS, etc..

Got my Samsung D900 today on contract. Got it for free on virgin for �20 a month and 5 months free. They also surprised me when they sent cash-back of �50 the next month. Think I'm going to get an NOKIA N95 from that site as well since i now trust them. Hey, i really think that the 8800 is real cool to have,the only problem with it is that it does not have a memory card!!! I have the 8800 in silver, it has great sound but with very little memory!!I dig the 8800 because its not easy to break so i can use it as self defence against a person..I don`t find any problem with the battery because I charge it over night and the battery life is up to a day depending on what you using it for..

Reception is terrible in US because networks do not offer software support for Sirocco. After 2 years of dropping the 8800 first ed daily on the floor - yes i treat fones like crap - i finally managed to wreck the micrphone on it. ive got this as a replacement. why? because i have a 1500 minute contract, because i charge it when im in the car so the battery life isnt a huge issue - bat like on the sirocco is considerably better - and its extremely well built. As to features... not to be rude but features are for kids who have time to play and poor people who cant afford separate devices.

Got the phone for several months by now...what can I say (having only smartphones before). It's looking amazing, slim, and works nice as a phone. No special functions/capabilities though and is nothing compared to a smartphone. Only luxury phone with basic functions. The connecting cabilities ONLY through bluetooth is also a minus. The speaker is not too loud and I find myself many times looking for a less noisy location in order to actual hear the other party. The functions that are on the phone are a minimum but they all work great without any bugs (so far). The design, feel and look compensates for the lack of functions and I think is just what intended to be: a basic functionality phone with a special design that should look great and impress people arround you. It's not so exclusive now since I saw a lot of people having it

I have a 8800 Sirocco edition from about 5 months and i'm very pleased. Well is not so smart but is made of very good materials such as the screen, is very resistant to scratches and the slide is made by nokia very good. It sound is at a very high quality when you make or answer the phone the sound is opening like a THX sound , surround it's very complicated to explain. But the conlusion is that this model from Nokia is made with very lasting materials , and all the money that you pay for it, is whorted. I like this phone. For the smart options at a phone i use a 9300 nokia comunicator and i'm pleased too.Nokia rules :)

the way of how i look at this one is basically like comparing watches, where a Rolex would have no functions that a Seiko would offer, but it's in the class of its own. indeed, for the ones who goes for this phone isn't looking for something too much of a drama, why bother with the quality of the camera when you can have a 8mega pixle canon powershot, why bother with the gps while there are the tomtoms tht gives a more accurate reading. functionwise, why not carry an asus 11.1" LCD~ as good, perhaps better than the N95 that everony is raving on about. for the ones that is willing to pay for the phone, doubt they would care much about the money wise, nor they are one of those who wanna become a "photographer" with the phone~

I have this phone. I was looking at Vertu but decided I could not justify it. Looking back good descion. I paid $1350 CDN for this phone but i got it in Canada when it was first released. No dealers carried it so it was a special order. I can tell u that it has the performce and features of a phone 1/3 the price. Worst thing is it is so heavy. Dropped it on the concrete and swear it bounced so high it could have landed in the same hand it fell out of. Stick with phones that are designed for performance. This isn't a watch or a car. It is a cell phone. Technolgy changes mounthly.

Good looking, well made phone but hardly one of the best on the market. It's features are pretty second rate compared to most phones out there. I mean for a start it has the usual Nokia square screen at only 208x208 pixels where as most manufacturers are now going for 240x320. Yes it has a 2 mega pixel camera but where is the auto focus? Where is the flash? And whats the point in an MP3 player if it only has 128MB of memory and no way of increasing it? One for those who like bling over substance in my opinion.

Right. After using this phone for the past 3 weeks i have come to an conclusion which i would say is a good comments on the entire phone. It is brilliant. It does what you want it to do. Plays music, takes photos, brilliant for texts and phone calls. Nokia have done a very good first class job on this handset. Anyone thinking about getting this phone, get it, the stylish things which come with it, like the headphones and case, are also brilliant. This phone is one of the best on the market at the moment. For thouse who say it's crap then you havn't had one and played with it properly. 10/10. Brilliant.

There is no other phone on the maket that i would swap for. To the person who exchanged your n80 and the n73 for the sirocco, just buy doing that, you're not fitting to use the phone. If you use an n73 like me, we care about camera, and music player. If you use an n80, you care about efficiency of using the phone as a internet connector. The peoples that the Sirocco wants to hit dont care about camera, music player or internet in their phone. They just want a phone is elegant and reflect their social economy status. I have a Stealth and an N73, but i wont trade for an 8800.

My mum got this phone a few months ago, dont know how caz my dad said it was expensive, first look of it VERY stylish, but the black cover gets your finger marks stainin it which is really very annoyin because it just ends up lookin scruff. It hasn't got much to offer either, personally im not into it, the kepypad is really small, i aint got fat fingers at all but even i find it hard to type on it. Not only that, but when closing the phone it slams together, which seriously worries me everytime i do so. However strangly enough my mum has told me she get's so many compliments when she gets it out from random people. In my opinion it does lok pretty sleek yea, but not once it gets your finger print stains all over it. On the other hand, it's small and thin which is handy. I'm much happier with my Sony Ericsson K800i =)

Yes, it doesn't have all of the tech features like some phones (N95, etc.), but that's not why people buy this phone. The Sirocco is almost like the Mercedes of phones -- it's not the most expensive model, it doesn't have the biggest or fastest "engine" (ie: not the biggest or fastest processor), it's not the most feature-packed, but it is very cool and classy and deserving of its luxury status. Are there more expensive phones than the Sirocco and more expensive cars than a Mercedes? Yes. Are there phones and cars with more features than the Sirocco and Mercedes, respectively? Yes. But, they're both classy enough, good-looking enough, and have enough "wow" factor to be more than worthy of purchase.

I belong in the first category and as a user of all high-end Nokia 8-series phones i have to state that Nokia SE doesn�t justify its value of money but it�s only a subjectively pretty phone. I wouldn�t have a problem if it was a good, useful (which it�s not) expensive phone. Nokia 8800 and SE are two overpriced marketing tricks products without substance . It�s not a matter of money but simply i don�t want to be ripped off. We don�t buy expensive things to feel special and to show off. We buy them because they make the difference and respond to their use, quality and value of money. You don�t have to criticize others because they have different opinion than yours. i have one of these, and the thing is, true its expensive, but its not expensive when it comes with the contract. the battery life is fairly poor, around 1-2days and then its back to the charger. but the design and few features more than makes up for the overall phone, it has a camera, it has gprs, its got sms, phone, a few games and apps, and thats fine by me

Great Looker and pack comes well equipped with Bluetooth headset, extra battery, desktop charger, earphone, case and cleaning cloth. Keys are small and hard to press, functionality is average and the camera is good. Hard to keep clean too

Just got the black 8800s free on an upgrade, the images of the phone dont give it credit, you need to go look at in the flesh (Steel) The best thing that i have found about the phone is the games. Two games, golf tour and rally 3d have the best graphics on any non pda mobile, even better than that of the sonyeric k800i. Cool phone makes you feel a million bucks and it comes with bluetooth headset that i have just sold for �100 in getting the phone i made 100 quid and look dam good!

To kPX4: yes, the Sirocco does work in the US (Cingular or TMobile or any other wireless company which uses GSM technology). I just got it yesterday, so I don't really have any reviews of it other than I do like the look and feel of the phone. I don't need any of those other extras that people keep complaining about -- I just wanted a quality phone that looks/feels good and works well, and that's why I splurged and got this phone as a $700 USD xmas present for myself. I wanted quality, and that's what I got. If I wanted to surf the web or buy soda at a soda machine with this device, then of course I would have gotten another phone instead.

if you not effort to buy a vertu phone, Nokia 8800 Sirocco is the alternative. both phone offer the similar thing. This phone is simply beautiful.Though I wish it were a couple more mm thinner perhaps around the 16 or 15mm range, but I guess that is just a minor detail. I am also very satisfied with the battery life, which is greatly improved from the previous 8800. This phone is designed for looks and exclusivity not features or functions. If you want a special phone that very few people have get this one. Sure you can buy a lot of things a possibly a couple phones with the price tag of one Sirocco, but that is the price you have to pay for having a special limited edition phone and if you can't afford it don't go whining about how it's so expensive for limited functions and features.

SIROCCO DIAMOND looks like a pimp phone, no offence to those who have it but it just like the nokia 8800 in everyway with a few changes. The nokia 8800 sorocco phone looks cool but to be honest its no that advanced than the nokia 8800. I work with mobile phones and get to test the phones out, not impressed with the sorocco and no big changes. Nokia are running out of ideas, when you bring out a upgrade to the 8800 you meant to make the h/set million times better not just improve it on minor parts like the camera. I'll stick with my 8800

i had a sharp 903. that was a very cool phone, fully featured pack. but then i didn't want a phone with all the 3g, great mp3 with memory card, large 3mp camera staff. and this is the whole point.you can get whatever you want and like. why say is so expensive and has nothing to offer??? this phone makes every other phone look cranky and plastiky. and is soo beaituful. and in the end if you want a good mp3 player get an ipod or something. if you want a good camera get a digital camera.

I have actualy brought this phone it cost me the following �100 To pay towards it And �35 a month on Dolphin 35 ( orange ) I get 500 mins and 500 txts However because i have a friend who works at orange i have managed to get 40% of my line rental, so actualy it costs me �21 a month SCORE!!! It look lovely It works great very easy to use. And the battery lasts 3 days before it needs a charge!!!! Whats the problem??? lots of considerations b4 getting this phones. yet despite the negativity, and the 'value for money' philosophy i decided to get 1. i can't say i'm impressed with the tech. being offered in this phone. i may have gone with O2 stealth, or HP windows-based smart pda/phone, but i didn't. 1 thing for sure, owning a sirocco makes u feel damn 'powerful'. i love that feeling. it's like having paris hilton as a girlfriend. or perhaps having sex with a royalty. my suggestion is u buy it if u feel like it. flirt with it for sometime, then trade it in. if u decide to own it, then don't regret it.

mate the battery dont last 4 or 5 days,. dont get me wrong it is a vast improvement to the old 8800 but i use my sirocco for 30 mins on average a day and sometimes i can scrape 2 days of battery life out of it but there is no way you are gettin 4 or 5 days. Other than that this phone is the bomb for true g's

i just got the sirocco 8800 it's realy good, the battery lasts 4-5 days with a medim usage of 30-40 minutes/per day... great look... i am please with it ( the original 8800 battery was realy crap , i had to change the battery twice a day...)

Sirocco is much more of a Designer Phone rather than your average cellphone with special edition tones and wallpaper with additional unique tweaks. It's a rather impressive and eye stoping phone. Get it if your wallet allows you to, you won't regret it.

Using my Sirocco for 2months now,very good phone but It'd be better if Nokia adds memory card slot+Pop port connector. To Nick,the different between Nokia 8800 and 8801 is the frequency(the housing is lightly different too:the 8801 is a bit fatter but a bit lighter than 8800/8800 is built a bit thicker),8801 supports Gsm 850 so it works better in the US,as Asian countries(VN)use Gsm 900/1800 then the reception is very weak(sometime no reception at all),I've used a 8801 in Australia(Gsm 900/1800) and had the same problem.That's why price of 8801 is much cheaper than 8800.Go for 8800 if you want to use it in Asia.

i totally agree with everyone who have negative view on this phone. except for the material used in making this phone, there is nothing to cheer about, feature-wise. The first 8800 did not do well and i don't know why they come out with this one. maybe nokia's warehouse are stock with so many units and spare parts for the latter model they have to introduce this model so they can dispose the overflowing stocks. if their intention is to target the high end market, they should learn from motorola's v3 razr phone or maybe to a certain extend, LG's chocolate phone. two phones that have more or better features and does not cost a lot and yet is attracting a lot of buyers from the high end market.

Ok... I bought this phone pretty much as soon as it came out. loved the style and decided to go for a phone that was uber style since I don't need many fnctions and... it's crap. All I use phone for is texting, calls and the odd photo, so thought this'd be perfect. Call quality's crap, really buzzy & signal awful (city centre!). Texting's a nightmare since they keypad's bad & the navi key... I have very skinny fingers & its still awful. Screen's really small and low res.... covered in fingerprints even using case. included Bluetooth headset's crap call quality too. Battery's not good (still). & it's really slow doing anything on it. Looks fantastic (clean) I'll give it that. But even if you want a phone phone with looks... it's got looks but it's not a very good phone! Overhyped. underperforming. Waste of money. Very disappointed. Getting a Sony Ericsson!

well to me this phone is just so-so. bought a 8910i previously and now thinkin to change. what i dont like about the sirocco version is the shinny glossy finish. reminds me of 8810 but in black. i am sure all 8000 series nokia are considered as style with substance phone but i think i would rather buy 8800 limited edition the grey charcoal color than this siricco. it looks kinda been there done that.

Sirocco stole my heart when i first read abt the release of it at here.... but too bad still sirocco no where be seen in malaysia even at kl bummer.... For myself i do like to be unique coz ppl here around me not n-70, n73 or k750, k810 or k800 and i kinda bored seeing them and dun think will follow the majority. since i got myself an O2 atom for my daily campus life and wan this sirocco baby to steal the lime light just as old time with my 8910 where mono phones dominate the markets.... got to save for this baby. nokia really wicked ^^

Hi all! i used this phone 4 2 weeks now and trust me its crap! i bought it in greece for 890 euro. before that i owned 8800 silver which i sold 10 days after i bought it. the phone had several problems. first of all the included bluetooth headset didnt work. i had to spent time to go back to nokia shop to complain so that they would change it. now i m waiting allready 14 days. the phone worked the first days right. after 5 days people couldnt hear me and i didnt get any signal. i missed lots of importanr phones because of that crap. i went back to nokia shop where they informed me that there was a problem with the electronics of the phone. i m sick and tired with nokia. their mobiles always need updates have software probs etc. i use an k800 too and its magnificent. MY ADVICE SAVE UR MONEY AND DONT BUY THIS CRAP OR ELSE U LL B SORRY LIKE ME. I VE HAD PROBLEMS WITH ALL THE EXPENSIVE NOKIA PHONES BUT NO MORE. I LL NEVER BUY A NOKIA AGAIN

i dont see why anyone would pay the �600 box price for this phone, the screen is tiny, the case gets covered in finger prints the second you look at it, and its features are poor. you might as well go out and get a decent sony ericson, might not look as nice, but the features are far better, and if i breaks, you could buy another without going over the cost of on 8800

I have the 8800 and everyone seems to moan about it etc.. and when the sirocco came out the same thing.. this phone is a fashion symbol.. its not practical if you need a reliable handset.. its a evening and weekend phone.. people are really getting on my dam nerves.. you woundnt by a hummer and then say it drinks to much petrol.. when you buy high market phones like the 8800 and sirocco they are designed to be a fashion statement, the battery doesnt last long because its a phone to be used in the evening.. i work in a phone shop and to be honest all phones nowadays are crap and thats my honest opinion

I returned my 8800SE. It was just far too overpriced and heavy with terrible battery life. I then came across a dealer offering the Motorola KRZR K1 and picked it up for less than 1/3 the price! I've been a Nokia fan all my life after getting ripped off on garbage Motorola phones like the V635 but they've finally gotten their act together. The KRZR is built great, better than any Moto including the RAZR V3. And best of all I'm getting far longer battery life than I ever did with the 8800SE. The software isn't perfect but I'm getting used to it. Such a stylish little phone, Motorola's really showing their engineering muscle by getting more features than the 8800SE into a smaller package. FAO - ian frey go for a K800i or W850i mate, i've had W850i for 3 days now and i've got 62% battery left, only problem is no autofocus on camera i'm tempted to go for the K800i in silver though, only problem with that is the joystick, size and weight i'm still undecided but these 2 are the best by far, Nokia are has-beens mate, i was a nokia nut until i saw the light when i got my old SE hope that helps!

recieved my handset this morning on an o2 staff account. very impressed with the handset. On charge at the moment. Great looking handset, feels excellent quality and is packaged in a way that makes it feel special. Handset has all the features i need and hopefully won't be as deathly slow and freeze all time time like my n70.

hey all! i use this fone for 3 weeks now. i used to own 8800 too which i sold the third day i had it. i bought scirocco for 850 euros in greece. now about my opinion. scirocco unlike 8800 does not have any software problems. my 8800 did restart itself from the first day, and trust me i dont like buying a 900 euros phone and being forced to wait 2 days to get an update. the battrey of scirocco is far better. it lasts 2 and a half days with pretty heavy use. one big pro is that this phone shine perfectly nice in black and people notice it a lot. not about my dislikes. its a bit heavy which isnt a problem for me. u cant change the color of the bars of battery and reception and this is stupid cause brown doesnt match all the savers. can any1 tell me if i use new software will i b able to change their color? at last the camera and the screen. the camera isnt good art all. i combared it with k750i and it was half as good. at the end i must say that the bluetooth in my scirocco didnt work and i had to take it back. also when i bought my 8800 my desk charger didnt work either. i strongly believe that when i spend 900 euros for a phone i expect to get the quality i pay for. thats all. by the way i use an se k800 too, and trust this phone is magnificent. so my conclusion scirocco is a good expensive fone with not many good features to use it only as a phone. its very beautifull though!

This phone is a pile, people go for the looks but can you tell me what you see that i don't ? The original 8800 and this have the worst battery life and on the market, have very few worthwhile features and they're extremely heavy for their size. And before you dismiss my comments i work for a UK mobile phone network, not saying which one, so i know my stuff. It amazes me how many people ring up like "i want this phone and nothing else i'm not interested what you've got to say i don't want anything else" - these are the people who want to cancel their contract after 2 months saying the phone is Sh*te. Never mind eh, as long as one of your friends stupidly thinks it's ace and your cool, and that makes you warm and fluffy inside, that's all that matters yeah ?!

I used to have the normal 8800 and then i purchased the 8800 sirocca. The battery seems is 10 times better. The little software improvements are also a good additonal touch.

I see alot of people whining! previously I had 2 standard silver 8800's and they were honestly the best phones I have ever owned. People on one half are complaining that the phone has no features, your being scammed, nokia have just stuck a metal case on a phone and charged a stupid price... -these people dont have the spare cash to afford a decent phone.. sorry guys! arwww :( maybe sometime in the future eh? ur stuck with big bulky 'smart phones' when people like me have actual GPS in there cars.. ACTUAL powerful apple laptops that piss on your symbian, and a very powerful mobile phone that commands respect and is worthy of being an everyday accesorry without being just one more cheap plasticky bit of technology that plagues your pocket! ...and on the other half we have the people that have clear experience with these phones! if you have used a normal 8800 then you will know the quality you are getting.. i believe the slide on the normal 8800 was developed by a f1 racing engineering team, the glass was scratch resistant! the weight just added to the feel of 'old school' quality! the screen was amazing it was perfect for viewing in bright sun or in the dark! so now imagine the sirocco with its 2mp digital camera, because all i do is want to be able to catch a quick snapshot of a moment that i wouldnt be able to pull out my digital camera at and i want to make and recieve calls and send text! my current phone at the moment however is the n73... what a tacky piece of shit! its goin back tomoro! i need the sirocco! a real phone! they are NOT smart phones... so sorry all you geeky installing apps and posting on symbian forum types... this clearly isnt for you! stick to your gay smart phones that develop lots of problems and need to be reflashed all the time! My pocket has: Apple Ipod Nano. - music. Nokia 8800 - Communication. My lifestyle permits: Audi TT Quatro - travel. Apple powerbook - internet, business, email. if you drive a opel/vauxhall corsa... and u have a big dry desktop sitting there.. yeh yeh! smartphone! yay! lets pack more features than we can possibly safely do into a cheap tacky shell that one drop, and everything is corrupt and needs to be sent back! does your phone turn itself on and off again? do you have restrictions on apps being installed? does your autofocus 3mp digital camera inside your phone take too long to actually focus and take the shot? by this time its a big blur on your screen? if you go online with your phone does your battery finish in an hour and a half? ...heres the solution! accept it! its clear this phone is out your reach! hahahahahahaah!

i bought this handset yesterday and i have been waiting for it since the day it was announced and seen my first glimpse of it. the battery does seem to be better and as ive heard from my friends who have it also have all liked it and all given good reviews about this phone. some people dont like it but if you have had the original 8800 then this is a must according to me. you will see and feel the difference. overall.... i must say i love this phone.
