Retrobrick also sell this I would imagine or Gumtree (mostly for western countries), depending on where you live in the world.

  • I had used this mobile for long time enough. Yeah, it has really good features, like: -Large Screen -WiFi -Office Aaplication -Great Battery Life But, many people dislike its case, including me. Perhaps, because of its 'communicator' design. So, after few years, its getting worse. because of this problem, i doubt to buy a new one. Or, a same model like E90.

  • So, the company I work for used to have Nokia as a client and this phone was a field test model for them and was barely used (prestine condition) and now I am trying to use it, however it won't turn on. I tried a few "compatible with every Nokia" chargers, and some that just look like it should fit it, now I have a twall252 charger coming from discountcell.com, i hope this works. Is it possible that i might need a new or other battery because there is a possibility that was sitting for a few years withouth being turned on...any ideas would be be absolutely wonderful here on this post or to my email address, [email protected], thanks a ton guys, hope to get some interesting and helpful responses!!

I have verified several times whether my (WLAN) mac adress I gave to my schools ICT department correspondes with the one underneith the battery. Is there a way to verify whether this mac adress is correct? I tried *#62209526# but I always get the message "request denied"/"request not completed". Or am I doing it wrong and is the problem somewhere completely different?

  • yes this phone can read 2 Gigabytes MMC welll

  • 867675667

  • It can handle 1-2 gb but it tends to hang a lot and sometimes freezes, that happened to my fone. It can only hold up to 256mb Nokia said, sad to say but it does not hang or freezes. All you can do is to buy seperate MMCs if u want to store more files. And don't consume all the 80mb internal memory as it causes lag when navigating your phone.

  • I believe Nokia 9500 deserves the title 'The complete H/S.'

  • This is the real communicator, I have both this phone and the Nokia E90. The E90 is a bunch of downgrade and a trick to make people who dont have any business using a communicator think they need one. Nokia ended the Communicator series with this phone period.

  • the message problem i had it too... it is only a matter of deleting some files and creating new ones in the phone's file manager... or if you do not have the experience for that, i sugest you re-install the software on your phone... This is a little bit trickier cause the latest phone version on this model is 4.44 (but i am not certain). If the problem persist after this 2 methods i recommend you go to a professional service and let them do this job... • I got a Nokia 9500. I had no problems using with it. Until it came that you get a system message stating you can not send texts, "Not Enough Memory". What I did before was to refresh the phone by, turning it off, pulling out the battery, SIM and MMC. Put it back on, and it works. "System: Not enough memory. Close some applications and try again. " I tried draining the battery, backup then restore the phone, close all applications, etc. What shall I do? The phone is just collecting dust in my room now. Thanks.

  • Some facts about 9500: 1-it is possible to create and edit office documents (not only Excel but also Word and PowerPoint)using the office suite which comes with the device. You may also install "documents to go" a third party app. for doing this but not really necesary. 2-the inner keypad is not illuminated, but this is not important because the displays's light gives you all the light necessary. 3-the mentioned combination of keys (during start-up of the device) formats the device with the loss of all data. For restoring factory settings use "ctrl+shift+L. 4-If you need (or want)to watch AVI videos it is neccesary to install SmartMovie or DVD player for S80v2 because the realplayer can't handle that format. 5-The internet browser is very advanced but a bit outdated which makes some pages look bad, for example it shows texts and images in the same place (this always occur when opening gsmarena webpage)(at least with 5.22 firmware). The browser is always trying to show pages exactly the way they are supposed to be shown which makes it very slow, in some cases disabling plug-ins helps a lot. ddded 6-The best phone I've ever had by far.

  • this is the best fone i'v ever had.. there are a lot of softwares;apps&games available, its very handy, very very useful for business and work, only drawback for me for this fone is, the sound quality of mp3's when u play it in load speaker(i really like it loud like my 3250), and it has no vibra function also.. even so, this fone is 10/10 for me.. i thought of buying its big brother the E90, but then opinions and reviews of it turned me off..so, im sticking to this fone.. touche nokia..

  • I was wondering if any ower of this pohone could tell me the names of some of the ring tones. My friend had this phone and always used a specific ringtone, she now as the E90 but it doesn't have the tone she wants so I am trying to find it. I think it's like a slow piano piece maybe the name is something with an 's'. THANK YOU!

  • I'm a Nokia user, and I love this phone.. it's my fav Nokia phone! I also have 3310, 6233(I lost it in a tricycle :( ), 6630, and N95!! But I still use this phone, even though it's old. A very durable phone! I've been using it for 3 years now

  • A very complete phone in all senses and aspects, also true to it's tittle as a "communicator". Only the vibration feature is not present. Host of software can be loaded in it with 2gb optional support card. A mini pocket laptop actually. The initial phones (more than 10 years ago)weight & volume were the same as communicators, having only basic functions. Compratively this is a mini office unit with multi utility functions on the go. Enhances one's personality & impression in the crowd as a communicator with combination of silver n black cover panel. Long live nokia for making life easy for us.

  • And btw if your looking for good softwares and games for free you can go to the yahoo website, login, go to the yahoo groups, search for 9500 groups, join any one of them( with the most members), go to their files, and download anything you find interesting and its that simple :-)

  • This phone is by far one of the best phones ive come across so far, before i got my hands on this baby, i was addicted to imate phones. Ive had the imate pda2k, pda2 then the imate jasjar, all this time i was like an anti nokia person. I gotta admit imate phones and windows based pdas has like an almost unlimited variaties of softwares and games but then when it comes to the telephony feature and battery life they all suck bigtime. I would recieve calls at worst moments when the phone would hang and miss all those important calls and even sometimes the phone would hang while recieving a message it started becoming a nightmare and not to mention very limited accessories specially here in the middleast. I decided to go for a symbian based phone particularly Symbian60 phones. But then again for me the limited screen size was a bit of an issue so i figured id give it a try and get the nokia 9500, although its outdated but it has many features including wifi, HTML viewing, Office, Large 640x200 display and also express on covers, i myself replaced the standard black and silver one with a complete white one and it looks great. Although limited sofwares and games its very handy specially for everyday use and i can tell you even with old 4.44 firmware this phone has never hung up and the battery life is superb when taking the huge LCD screen into consideration( lasts upto 2 n hald days with normal use). On a 1 to 10 scale id give it a 9.5. Now im thinking about getting a E90 but..ahem..alil too expensice at the time being :-)

  • Good phone. Actually this phone is not that slow as what ppl are saying. If you exprience a sluggish performance, just format the phone to factory default & you will see the diffrence especially if your phone has the latest firmware.

  • I respect all the people who have this phone. People who have taste for Sure! Best Phone By Far.

  • Hi there, can someone please help me! I have the 9500 and bought a Transcend 2gb MMCplus memory card and the phone can not recognize the card. I tried reformatting the card via a card reader on my PC and can move files back and forth with no problems, but the phone still does not recognize the card. Trying to reformat from the phone gives an error *System: A bad request was issued*. The phone has firmware 05.22, do I need to upgrade?

  • i have been changing phones once every 3 months for the pass 4 years mostly nokia phones, from the lower end phones to the N series, this is the first time i am using the 9500 communicator, i must say no regrets, other than the size and looks it is by far the best phone i have ever had, it is so user friendly, and yes correct it is NOT for entertaiment purposes! 8.5/10 for the phone. if anyone is thinking about upgrading this phone to the new nokia E90 i suggest you wait as they still do not have the latest firmware, give it a year or so.

  • A man came into my store to enquire about a cover for it. It is the first time u have ever seen that phone. And i must say i thought it looked like the oldest phone out until i saw the mini computer functions it did have. But hilarious

  • i am using this mobile since one year, Upto now wasn't got any problem. I am satisfied with this phone, could say better than o2 xda exec, ease to use for applications and browse. Big screen, Apart from size it's excellent phone. Using the battery around 3 days (if you dont use wireless), otherwise it wont be too long, just a day. Overall a good phone

  • Is this phone VOIP Compatible? Can we load SKYPE or anyother VOIP dialer to run on the 9500??!!

  • Does this phone have stereo speakers included or is it possible to connect 6230's one? Is the music player stereo as it is in 6620 or not? Thanks ...

  • Great phone ! 2 anybody use it for entertainment, you are wrong ! this phone is for working support. Big. because you can't put into your pocket . small. cause i can use it even on my motor cycle riding.

  • The best phone. More than a phone i use it as a palmtop. So friendly kit. Excellent keypad. Excellent for browsing and accessing internet. So nice for accessing messengers like google, aol, yahoo, msn, etc.I've been using this for past 1 year and till this date i cannot compare any instrument with this, even atom, or dupod or imate

  • big like a tank , unfortunately not built like one hinges are not so strong as the 9300 , but it does weigh a ton. the picture quality is good but the video is very fuzzy. doesnt have auto phone lock dont understand why . organizer functions exellent does tend to blank out now and then must be suffering from amnesia . have seen some suprisingly good applications for the phone . document functions v.good but only for occasional use , laptop much more practical. internet functions and screen fantastic . apart from the big dimensions v.good but would prefer the 9300i if it had a camera/video

  • Good PDA for all of you who has an affair. Send message close to your wife and she felt that you are keep on working anytimes. Looks busy ! try it !

  • i bought a 9500 a couple years ago cheap and some have complaied about the battery but it lasts longer than my xda orbit's, i am a fan of high end phones but i will trade my xda in before i trade my nokia in... its the first nokia i've ever owned, fancied the 9300 when i used my mates but when i spotted the 9500 communicator, i simply had to have it... then rubbed it in my mates face

  • Except for its size and lousy battery, i like my Nokia 9500. I have a wireless LAN and i use my phone to login to yahoo messenger using IM+ and sometimes surf the net using its built-in browser. I can also access POP3 mail servers using Profimail. MP3 sound is ok. it has small speakers so don't expect too much. The qwerty keyboard is nice. I'm using a 1GB MMC card and the phone's loaded with lots of applications and games. I even have counterstrike and doom. Just don't install the apps in the phone memory. There's a rebooter software in case some apps hang-up or you can hold down and press CTRL-CHR-SHIFT while pressing K at least 5 times. To format, turn on the phone then while nokia is being displayed, press CTRL-SHIFT-F.

  • howz the sound quality of 9500??is it loud and better then 9300??

  • its agood handset

  • I want to have a new software for my 9500 , Any one have any idea for the best version ?

  • Hi all, I wanna get a 9500 this week, but after surfing the net today, i been reading on different sites about the upgrade 9500i Does any one here got some info for me...?

  • it is good but does not have a good mouse pointer . how do u send files through bluetooth

  • does this baby's speaker sounds like the speaker of 6680 when playing mp3 in loud speaker mode?..pls tell me..cuz im planning 2 buy this phone

  • utter disappointment! i got my 9500 in December 2005. Within the first month of purchase, it was restarting on its own every other day, during which you couldnt make any call (or do anything else)! i have been running it without any MMC, suspecting that some virus was in my MMC but no use! Then i've flushed out memory, kept message boxes light, havent put MP3 or emails even, yet the phone gets dead slow and restarts on its own! it also takes time to bring up phone book and message box! basically, for the price i paid, it wasnt definitely worth it! I have my eyes on the E90... i see it's got 330MHz processor (compared to 9500's 150 MHz) and SYMBIAN 9 OS (compared 9500's SYMBIAN 7) so i hope the E90 wont disappoint me!

  • I need help! i cant hear when i'm called and when i make a call. there's this "headset" symbol on the screen that has prevented the audio.

  • ive been using the phone for a year now and i love it but something happened to the phone its qwerty keyboard characters got jambled i reformated my phone sveral times but nothing happened. is it the software??

  • Can anybody tell me whether it support Chinese character ? Can we see and type sms using Chinese character ?

  • Hello, for the guy's (and girls) who are interested in the new communicator E90...http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/09/nokias-e90-communicator-first-pics/

  • how can i reformat my N9500?

  • So all.. I'm using communicators since '97.. so here is some hints for you. Your phone hangs often? Reformat it. Avoid to install cracked applications, games. Not enough memory? When u see this msg, it says you are running out of free ram, usually there are a lot of applications running in the background. Like PC's memory resident programs, threads, they are hiding. Try to figure out what programs are eating your RAM, uninstall it, make it non-resident. For example, every antivirus programs has a memory-resident part.. it can be disabled easily. Anyway, there is a free program called Memory Monitor.. use it for monitoring free ram, running-killing threads, closing all programs etc. Stability.. well, it is symbian. So go for the latest firmware..

  • Yes, it supports maximum 2GB MMC-s. Yes, it can play movies full screen or windowed, no matter of the file size. My tip: you have to install Smartmovie on 9500 and also ur PC, use it to convert video on PC. For example, the Pulp Fiction (more than 2hrs) converted to 9500 is about 450-500Mb, with 480*200 resolution. The mp3 sound quality is depends only your headset, 9500 has a mono speaker.

  • I have certain questions, if anyone please can solve, I'll b thankful & thanks is advance..... : Even though I am quite impressed with features of 9500 still i would like to know that whether it can support 2GB MMC (like 9300i) or higher or not. Secondly, I read it somewhere that there is possibility of its software instability. Another doubt that bothers me is can it play heavy mpeg 4 files like 300 mb or above or not or just simple music video files of 40-50 mb. How is the mp3 sound quality of this mobile ? does it plays video files in REAL Media player. Sound clarity is O.K or bad ? I will be really thankful if i get some info/clarity on the above mentioned doubts. Thanks is advance

  • I have been using this phone for over a year now and I love it. When am using it people will look at me and ask "Is that a Phone? It's huge!" but they didn't see what's on the inside. Once they get to see it, their faces will go crazy...you know when you get excited. All I could hear is unbelievable! I got this phone in Asia and I hardly see people here in USA using it. They're more on the flip phones. I feel so special I have this big ass phone because it could make me do a lot of stuff life internet especially. Other than it's size...I could not ask for more.

  • I'e been using N9500 for 2yrs, sometimes it hang, then I had to reboot it. No keyboard light for work in dark place. No touchscreen, so get use to akwardly joystick to browse the internet. Boring looking calendar application. Cannot fully support java? Don't count the speaker for multimedia (MP3). Stuttering video playback (3gp). Small cover display (there's an empty scape beside the screen. Slooow internet (with Pro XL).Not support HSPDA.

  • 9500 is 240 gr.but when you think its capabilities it is the lightest and the smallest laptop in the world.you can find lots of programmes and app.at www.dotsis.com

  • plz help me.. where can i find a site for nokia 9500 games and application for free! tnx

  • the best phone in the world..i love it..

  • What about the new Communicator E90? Does anyone already has pictures?

  • This is amazing.I wanted to know people did any1 face a problem : when i switch on my cell bluetooth gets on 2 times... This phone supports upto 2GB. But i have 1gb does not hang any time no worries if any1 wanna buy. many softwares available on diff. sites. Good phone overall . ANY NOKIA PHONE IS NOT FULLY LOADED WITH EVERYTHING 1-2 PROBLEMS ARE ALWAYS THERE. well only if nokia would have given vibration in it or good powerfull speaker. You have too go in contol panel to change ringtone and msg tone(Coz some people dnt know how to do it). Abit bulky 250 gms(with battery). No lights on internal keyboard gets diff. to msg o work at nights.

  • I was dissapointed for bought this phone. Why? because the phone didn't operating normally. The external LCD is blank, the machine is damaged(always hang)i didn't use phone memorry, i always save datas in MMC(128), the lodspeaker isn't work. All the problem were happen before one year. I used it normally. I never drop it. I bought it at nokia's distributor, so my phone has nokia's warranties. Could anybody tell me why my phone doesn't work normally?

  • Its a great phone but in the launch of it it as a lot of problems like No memory when you got it, and no missed calls but with a new software normally they got normal. I prefer 9300 but this one is better in the overall.

  • yeapz... there is quite a few problems... i ve been usins this phone since the day it launch.... it hangs sometimes....it says out of memory when u still hav.... and sometimes u dun see ur dialled , missed calls n received calls number.... all u just hav to do....is reboot it until it shows... well i am still stickin to this bcos this is the onli phone which supports fax capability.

  • it's actually more of a question;i've been using one for sometime now, recently i've not been able to view either my dialled, received or missed calls.i've tried everything i think i know.any solution to my prob would be appreciated.

  • I have been using the 9500 for about 6 months. Problem I have is that it sometimes says "Error: Out of memory" and yet I have used only 20M of the 80M and I have 256M memory card. And also it hangs after that error message and I have to remove battery to reset. Any ideas? Otherwise I love the phone.....

  • i just bought one last night and have been playing with it.Quite amazingly strong battery, gets fully charged within an hour or so and no bar drops down from the battery symbol with full usage of functions for 3-4 hours.Beside the battery, it makes you feel like you're holding a mini laptop. This small device is really cool.Wi-fi and internet connection, download, installation are vary fast.It doesn't have vibration,radio,VGA(2 years old technology this is why a VGA camera),not stereo, big&heavy.Ok,i wrote some things i noticed since last night with 9500 but let me tell you this; if was looking for a fancy phone with good camera and sound, shortly for fun, i'd go for probably N93 or N73.This device distinguishes itself from all other phones you know or have seen as being a classy real business phone, better yet mini laptop.I feel really happy with this phone.

  • Hallo everybody, I am about to buy Nokia 9500 ... I was thinking between 9300i and 9500. Ok, 9300i, much smaller, almost pocket size. I went yesterday to shop, take new one 9300i, immediately put my card inside, pay phone and go out. I was happy, very happy ... but not for the long time... I want to make my first call, I dial the number and ... hallo ... hallo ...!? I hear the sound excellent, but my voice does not pass!? Ok, I go back to the shop, they give me back my money ... believe me I feel like an s....t!!! Any way, my question is does the 9500 work normally!? How about the software stability? How many times, some of you have to remove battery and restart phone? Please, advise me!!! Thanks a lot for any support a.s.a.p. Sassa [bgscout_at_sezampro.yu]

  • i have read a question about a memory card which cannot be read by his 9500. the thing there is the back cover so you should check it if it is properly placed. I've experienced that problem. by the way I still have a problem with my 9500 because my exterior keypad does not light when I'm using it. does anyone here know why? and how to fix it or what i should do so that my keypad will light.

  • I bought my Nokia 9500 to replace a PalmIIIe device, which worked with the operating and planning system designed by Franklin Covey. I found the adjustment to the Outlook calendar and to-do list a big disappointment, but Nokia's Symbian operating system is not compatible with Franklin covey, so I am now stuck with a calendar and planner that may be useful for corporate management but not for a private user. Does anyone out there know of an operating system that is better than Outlook that can be used on the NOkia 9500 and synchronized wtih a desktop computer working with Windows XP?

  • i love my 9500! as a medical student its very useful, yes its not toch screen and its not 3G and not 3.2mp but i can do my reports etc.... and i can manage my files anytime and anywhere..... from fun to skul! 9500 IS my best buddy !

  • I've got this phone last December 26, 2005. at first time, it plays on every application. but when i used it for along next 2 months it became slower and slower and decided to have a hard format. Its such a big, bulky, heavy, and slow phone... The start up time is reaching a maximum of a minute or two.... I don't like this phone so i swapped it last June 2006 to N70. I'm sorry nokia, but it's true.........

  • Blank scrren on my 9500 Blank Screen on my 9500 I just had the same problem yesterday with my 9500. It's hot here and the phone was in my car charging and then the screen just went blank and nothing would work. Removing the battery, resetting, nothing. Then 5 hours later, it started working again. I went to a repair shop and they thought it wa the backlight screen or a coil, but not the battery. How did the situation get resolved? Does replacing the battery resolve the problem? Is NOKIA any help? What do they charge for out-of-warranty repairs? GMan

  • hi! does anyone knows if 9500 suports GPS sistem? if yes... how does it work? thanks

  • hey!!!this is not a "pangit" phone!!maybe you just don't know how to use one..

  • can it support a 1gb or 2gb memorycard?pls tell me..

  • 1) try to turn off your 9500 2) then remove the battery, SIM card and the memory card. 3) then reinsert the SIM card, the memory card, and the battery in that sequence. 4) wait for the 9500 internal big screen to "completely" load. 5) turn on the phone outside. 6) now check if it can read your memory card. *if it wont still read it, i suggest you bring your 9500 together with the memory card to a nearest Nokia Care.

  • pls can anyone tell me whats wrong wit my 9500 i cant read my memory card anymore it keeps saying memory not ready yet n d memory card is still gud n ve formatted it pls can someone find a solution 2 my problem

  • can someone teach me on how to setup wifi on this gadget.... thanks in advance!

  • it has some advance business features and full qwerty keyboard, not to mention the big and long LCD display (and secondary display). big internal memory, office and data tools, thats why its expensive... so we cant say this phone is "pangit".

  • expensive but not 3g capable..pangit!!

  • Can GPS service be activated on this phone? If yes then how.

  • The Nokia 9500 Comunicator is very powerful smartphone but i wish to buy the new Comunicator :)

  • Hi Nokia 9500 users, I just bought this wonderful mobile, really great, no regret having this, however, just found out I can't watch movie with RealPlayer software. Can anybody help me so that I can make use of it as optimum as possible? Cheers,

  • Hello N9500 wizards thanks for your time, I really would like to get a 9500 communicator but I am not sure whether I should wait for a new 9500i or updated 9510 version, does anyone know something about a better version or release for 2007? Thank you very much

  • Is very true that is beeg, but only the battery is near to some phones dimension. The comparation between 9500 and sample phones (with more or less features) is not corectly.

  • thanks owen!how about 9300i does this fone have a message counter?

  • Even though I am quite impressed with features of 9500 still i would like to know that whether it can support 2GB MMC (like 9300i) or higher or not. Secondly, I read it somewhere that there is possibility of its software instability. Another doubt that bothers me is can it play heavy mpeg 4 files like 300 mb or above or not or just simple music video files of 40-50 mb. I will be really thankful if i get some info/clarity on the above mentioned doubts.

  • Hi jose =) as far as i know, there's no message counter. But it does store your sent messages and you can check it from there on how many messages you've sent. so to speak, i can say it plays a message counter. If you're talking about just a simple application that counts the messages uve sent, there's probably a java application you cna install to do that.

  • Hi Richards =) which light are you talking about? the light on the keyboard? or the external number pad? if its the keyboard, it doesnt have any light. if its the external numer pad, have it checked. it should always light whenever you're using the keypad.

  • does this phone have a message counter?like in 3220 because i want to monitor my text.thanks

  • how do i use the fax feature on the 9500 communicator. the lights also do not come on at night , what should i do.

  • 9500 is nicer than 9300 because it has a bigger screen.

  • people who always complain about nokia's popular phone are just jealous cuz its either they cant afford one or they simply don't know how to use it. lets face it homos... nokia still has the bigger piece of the pie in global market. as for me im happy with my 9500 and n70. they both make a good statement to the public and made my mobile life easy and convenient. eat your heart out homos...

  • I wish the next 9500 can have 3g and TV Output mode.

  • Hi Jinggoy =) first of all, let me tell you a simple difference between 9300, 9300i, and 9500. 9500 has wi-fi and has camera 9300i has wi-fi but no camera 9300 has no wi-fi and no camera ...the rest of the features are the same. thats it now, you mentioned you're a student. if you dont really need wi-fi to access wireless internet in any hotspots in your area, then might as well get 9300. its smaller compared to 9500 so at least you can slide it on your jeans pocket or your bag pocket or something. if you want wi-fi and not into camera-phones, then get the 9300i. if you're the type of person that has all the gadgets, then for sure you have a good digital camera. so 9300i is best for you. 9500 camera is just for quick snapshots and video capture which you can then send or email right away using its built-in email client. the camera isnt that of high quality image but not really bad. now if you want both wi-fi and camera in one phone and you dont really mind the low quality of the camera, big size of the phone, and you have enough budget to spend: then get 9500. this phone has bigger widescreen compared to 9300 and 9300i. my suggestion, get 9300i. its smaller and more compact. EDGE data transfer for 9300i is Class 10 that runs upto 236.8 kbps, compared to 9500's Class 6 which runs upto 177.6 kbps only. another thing is that Nokia 9300i's wi-fi is 802.11g which has fastest maximum speed and supports more simulatenous users. unlike in Nokia 9500 which has 802.11b and has slowest maximum speed and supports fewer simultaneous users. but then again, it all depends on you. i suggest you go to the nearest Nokia shop and try both 9500 and 9300i to check which one you like better. im just giving my own opinion and i dont want you to get disappointed as you have your own free will =) cheers!

  • hi!i want to buy a new cellphone and i was wondering which one is better the 9300i or the 9500?i'm just a college student but i really like to have a communicator because it can be very useful to me.please explain to me why you choose the phone for me.thank you very much

  • this phone is HUGE! i was playing around with it today in a nokia retail store, and it is probably the biggest cell phone i have ever held, i could only imagine how uncomfortable the phone would feel in my pocket. i really like the phone alot, it has alot of great features and its a really good phone. but if you want to get it i sugest you get the 9300 or 9300i....the only difference is that there is no camera( but the camera on the 9500 isnt that good anyway, and that the 9300 is smaller which is better, and it is much cheaper. so i sugest the 9300 for people who want this phone

  • Owen, Is there any way we can get the market share figures for Smart phones. I am sure Nokia is dropping in this segment like crazy

  • well, thats what Nokia is known for: releasing phones that doesnt have everything =) there's always something missing. I dont know with the N series. Im just wondering about the next communicator they will produce: 3G? megapixel cam? internal HardDrive? touchscreen capability? but no bluetooth... haha.. kidding! =)

  • Owen, The Reason I am upset with Nokia for not including the vibrator mode , T9 , qwerty keyboard that is not back lit and a better camera in the 9500 is that I am a loyal Nokia customer and would like to buy only nokia communicators but the goof up on small but very essential inclusions has let me to look at and buy other brands. Every high end phone however sophisticated it may be must have all the basic features to make it a true success. It is like a rolls royce with no air conditioning....for god sake Nokia wake up and get your house in order with your communicators. Right now I think Palm / O2 / SE have far better smart phones that dont comprimise on the basics

  • Hi Sebyshoru =) if you're talking about the keypads outside where you dial a number, there's no option to turn it off or on (as far as i know). its supposed to turn on once you press a key (unless its locked). if your outside keypad still doesnt light even if its active, then you have to have your phone checked or repaired. there must be something wrong with it. if you're talking about the complete keyboard inside with all the letters, it has no lights at all. there's nothing to turn on there =)

  • True, Nokia should stay in competition and offer products that are equal or better than its competitors.. what i was trying to say is: if the phone is not enough for you, then dont buy it. some people will get it anyway because its the latest and they're excited about it and want to be the first one to have it even if they're aware its lacking some features. then after the hype and all, they'll realize its not good enough for them. Im not against Nokia or SE or Samsung or Panasonic, etc... ive tried all these brands with some features lacking in it but i bought them anyway and didnt complain. why? because im aware of those missing features and i wont be needing them the time i bought it, and i read the specification before i buy it. i dont let my excitement or my impulse to just buy it without getting myself familiar with whats in it. so, when can you complain? like when the product for example has a vibrate function then its not working. thats when you complain. but if the product catalog says that it has no vibrate function then you still bought it and you'll complain it doesnt have one, then why did you purchased it in the first place? get what i mean? =) PEACE!

  • hello guys, plssss tell me how tu turn on the fron keyboard lights on, pls I am desperat becose i can't figure out ow to do this plsssss hep me :((

  • Can one load T9 on the 9500 so when I use the number pad i can send sms's with T9

  • Owen, The explanation given for no vibrator / poor camera qualty in the 9500 is sad to say the least ... Nokia competitors (Sony Erric.. , Palm , Samsung) all offer smart pones with a full qwerty keyboard . In addition they have a vibrator and a good camera. In this day and age if Nokia cannot produce a relaible smart phone with a vibrator it might as well quit this market .... its competitors will eat it alive....So either Nokia offers the market a great product with all options or market forces will ensure it becomes extint

  • Hi Vishal =) My 9500 can sync ok with my computer's Windows XP. it doesnt mean that if a cellphone is not using windows, it will not sync with your computer. even old Nokia's can sync with computers. Its also stated in Nokia website that you should at least have Service pack 1 or 2 for Windows XP to connect 9500 using USB cable or the data cradle. But my computer doesnt even have any Service Pack and its doing good. there were a lot of errors during installation but i went to control panel in my PC to do "repair" on the PC Suite and now its working fine. I think both XDA and 9500 can sync good with any computer. people will not buy them if they dont, because its a business cellphone. It depends on your computer's configuration. if your computer has a lot of incompatibilities, then whatever phone you buy will not work with sync. you can also ask the store which phone is the best seller for business people. that might help you decide. do a search in Google as well about nokia 9500 and XDA about PC sync and connection. you can read online forums about these phones with people talking about their experiences about both phones. you can search something like "nokia 9500 vs xda" or "02mini vs nokia 9500"... something like that...

  • @jose both phones 9500 and 9300i have the same functions except for the size and the camera and of course the price as well. Here in the Philippines the price difference is almost 3 to 4 thousand pesos. I prefer the 9500 with its camera function which is pretty good for sending emails etc. You'll never know when you need a camera. :-)

  • I've been using a pocket pc for years even the xda O2 honestly I'n quite happy with it except for the bluetooth function, plus I'm using an n70, not because that I'm a nokia fun but believe it has the best signal ever, and paired it with my bluetooth stereo headset was the best ever, unlike the SE though I already tried the w900i but pairing it with headset was frustrating, anyway I got my 9500 yesterday and its the best phone ever, I was able to sync all my contacts with outlook just like my pocket pc. I tried to transfer my excel file and words, it was a breezed no need for the cables like the my pocket pc, less cluter on the my desk. Probably this phone will last with me and my n70 great phones!

  • 1st of all thank u very much for u r prompt advice Is pc and phone compatibility a big issue for 9500 since there is no windows.' can i regularly synchronize my outlook data , on pc and phone . Does windows absense matter a lot. pls tell me the unique selling proposition(USP) of both the phone which has more resale value.\ i want a perfect sync with my pc. i want it to substitute with my laptop because in my city it is very hard to travel in public transport with a lap top. pls advice which is a phone with highest utility

  • Hi Vishal =) You might want to consider getting Nokia 9500, but it has no windows operating system. Aside from viewing word documents with Nokia 9500, it will be easier for you to edit them as well because of the full keyboard that you can use. XDA Mini might give you a hard time using the handwriting recognition. plus, 9500 is designed for business use so im sure it wil be useful for you if you want to organize things. wifi is another good thing about this phone. I havent used XDA mini yet but I was able to give it a try and it always freezes. If I were you, go to a local phone shop and give both phones a try so you'll see which phone will work best for you. It still depends on the person who will use it. for me, 9500 is best because of my everyday task and lifestyle. if you hate bulky phone and want a small one and dont really need the full keyboard, wifi, and stuffs.. then try the XDA mini.

  • Hey guys pls pls pls guide me as to go for o2 xda mini or 9500 and does 9500 missing windows really misses a lot due to absense of windows. i need to use for organising task , reading word, excel files, using windows, which is better , pls tell. which is the best bang for u r bucks!!!! any nokia communicator with windows. pls tell

  • to some of you complaining about no vibration and VGA camera and others: 1) Vibrate this phone has a lot of features packed to it. its also a big piece of communication tool and kindof not appropriate to integrate a vibrate feature. some of its internal parts and the large internal display might breakout or something when vibrating. im sure Nokia has a reason why they didnt put it. they did a lot of research and brainstorming for that. they will not just release something big not thinking hard about it. Imagine if they did put a vibrate function, some of you might still complain saying the other way around like "Nokia shouldnt have put vibrate because phone is too big and heavy for a vibrate and it wrecks sensitive part, i had mine for repair blah blah blah yada yada it sucks blah blah". 2) Camera this is a business tool. mostly for executives. and executives have no time or not interested in taking pictures for fun or whatever. and if in case some of these executives do take pictures as part of their job then they'll get and use a digicam instead and not rely on phone camera. the cam for this phone is just for quick snapshots. some people buy this phone because of high-end features, but they dont really need them then will complain on the camera or size or whatever at the end of the day. read the specifications of the phone and try it first at your nearest phone shop before you buy it so you will not end up complaining. if you dont like the specs then look for another phone. I bought this phone a week ago and i was using Samsung e730 before and it has a very nice camera quality which surpasses N70 sometimes. its also compact and small to fit in any pocket... but i was ready to sacrifice the camera part and the compact size of it because i dont get to use the camera very often anymore. so i got this larger one (9500) with excellent communication features and Wifi, email functions. i noticed myself sending email to my partner or browsing websites in a coffee shop using GPRS from my Samsung E730 so as not to get bored while waiting for my partner get off the office for pick up, or when im relaxing during my dayoff. its expensive to use GPRS you know. so i told myself i need a fone that will do the job. 9500 is the answer. free WiFi on free hotspots. and great email software. mp3's and streaming video will help me fly off the time while waiting. So my advice, get the phone suited or fitted for you so you will not complain. sometimes you dont have to look after a nice design just to be popular or cool or whatever. you're going to use the phone to ease your life or to do something related to your lifestyle. if your lifestyle changes and your phone does not fit it anymore then change it and look for something that will adjust and cope with your life, may it be an expensive phone or cheap one. as long as it satisfies you. =) CHEERS!

  • NOKIA 9500 communicator is one of the highest grade of phones around the world today. It is unquestionably supered.I have used it for 6 months now and couldn't just compare it with any of the phones I had ever used. Please, kindly give me a brief on how to download yahoo messenger into it.

  • bashir kahlil........ you FAG! i have tried pocket pc and it sucks cuz the touch screen is too sensitive and easily scratch even with touchscreen protection film. much worst is when driving i can't immediately answer any calls using pocket pc cuz answer key is on the buttom. well good luck with your pocket pc phone... as for me better stick with phones that has keypads on it.

  • Hey Juan, Yep I too had a bad experience when I tried reparing my Nokia phone abt a year ago. Nokia service is really bad

  • I just got 9500!!! Real nice and tough! But, is it possible that a phone like that not to have vibration and Radio? Too bad! But over all, it's the best!

  • tips for all 9500 users don't drop this phone too often cuz the housing of this phone is thin and easily cracks. don't place it in your pocket when wearing jeans or even placing it inside your pocket while sitting down. i place mine in my pocket when going to school and I dropped it for 5 times already and the hinged broke off. I have to spend P 1,500.00 or $30 to have it replaced. at least 5 times of being dropped is a testament that internal components wasn't affected. Only the external components which is acceptable for as long as the entire phone still works.

  • i am current user of a 9500. can i download msn or yahoo messenger to my phone??

I dont mind it... you can play game, watch movie, read your download books, picture, video, mp3s, you can use it in your meeting, in your presentation... what else you need? too big??? well... use bluetooth... so you dont have to carry it all the time... or get another fancy phone like 7380 and divert all your call to your smaller phone... too slow? shovel 2g mmc card. hmmmm im just wondering? why its says here that its an older phone than 9300??? ewww... i will not get 9300 duh!

  • chix.... nokia 9500 in philippine peso P 40,000 with 1 year warranty @ Graphics, Cagayan de Oro City P 38,000 with 1 week warranty @ Graphics, Cagayan de Oro City P 42,000 @ Games and Gadget * mostly out of stock, or order basis. * Prices are dated since 2005. I still don't know for the 1st & 2nd quarter of 2006. Probably still above P 35,000. the Price is stable because supply is constantly controled by suppliers to protect its market value, unless 9300i is released or a new version of 9500 is released and There's few 2nd hand unit sold in bargain shops.

  • Hey guys any idea if Nokia is launching a sucessor to the 9500 ... 1) Hope it is with windows 5 2) 3g 3) has gps 4) satellite phone 5) stylus input 6) Viberator 7)Slider key board

  • This is the best smartphone i ever had !

  • I bought a 9500 and found: Bad keyboard, the 9210 was far better. Very slow. It quitted working after 3 months. Sent to Singapore from NZ 11 January, never had it back. The Care Centre is a mockery: Nobody cares. I paid 1200 sing. dollars and I regret. I have to go to a lawyer and proceed against Nokia. It s going to cost more than the value of the set, but I am compelled to do it. is anybody joining me? The NZ Care Centre is unable to give any answer. The Singapore Care Centre, in Wheelock Place, No answer. NEVER SEND A PHONE FOR REPAIR BY MAIL.They loose or keep it and then you fight against a dark wall.

  • hey guys. i wanna ask if wanna change the whole case of 9500, need around how much ?

  • it is the greatest of all communicator cellphones. Eventhough it is huge, it is very very usable.. it has a wi-fi.. camera.. unlike the nokia 9300..

  • I used to have a Nokia 9210i for one year then switched to the Sony Ericsson P900 because it had Bluetooth, a camera and great sound (as all Sony Ericsson phones). Two P900's after, i switched to its successor, the P910i since it boasted to have a screen with 262k color resolution, Office applications, and some welcome improvements over the P900. I only used the P910i as my phone and mp3 player because it's camera was not good and even having the 262k screen failed to impress (the 9500 Communicator's 65k internal display is so much better). It's Office applications are merely viewers and yet don't serve well. I have been really frustrated so I had to get the Nokia 9500. I've been a happy and contented user of the 9500 ever since I got it. The version of my communicator's software is 5.22 and really works fine. This device, compared to normal PDA's, Smartphones, and Pocket PC's, is a stand-alone device. You can create, edit or simply view Office documents with ease. I for one have read Dan Brown's books in Microsoft Word format on my 9500. I also have Viking's DVD Player installed and have downloaded several AVI movie clips from DivX which always makes people's jaw drop when I show them the clarity and quality of viewing clips on full screen with my Communicator. My mp3 collection sound great on Nokia stereo earphones -this definitely gets me going all day. This really is still the ultimate phone/multimedia/business tool, however, Nokia should soon release the improved version which supports 3G, has a better camera with perhaps at least a 2 megapixel just like the popular N series phones and even just a VGA on the communicator interface for video calls. The next communicator should also have a TV out just like Samsung's D600 and a 3.5mm jack to replace Nokia's Pop Port, just like what could be found on the upcoming N91, a better sounding speaker similar to the Nokia 6630's. The outer display should host at least a 262k screen and the main screen should have 16 million colors just like on the upcoming N92. Nokia knows how to make the ultimate communicator, I'm sure of this, but of course, for business intentions, they might not give us everything so we'll have a reason to buy the next one. Let us just hope that their philosophy changes. Please offer us a device we can use for the current technology (you knew 3G was around yet the 9500 does not support it -we could have been making most out of the Communicator's fantastic display). Most of us need an all-in-one device. We don't want to buy several devices just because a particular feature can be found on this one and can't on the other. The features I mentioned are all existing technologies so there's no reason the suggestions above can't be considered. The Nokia Communicator line up is always the most expensive so give the top class the finest and latest you could give. With all these said, I still strongly suggest the 9500 to the people wanting the best. It may not have 3G yet but it still is the best!

  • Can anyone tell me,how can I play game in this phone?does anyone have any idea about it?

  • To Svorc Yes you can, I've just got mine change while I'm back in Indonesia for holidays, provided there is a nokia care centre in your country, they could always fix it I recommend you to send it to nokia authorize centre as this nokia 9500 is a bit complicated phone which defer from any other nokia phone

  • Hi there. Im from Macedonia, i have this phone for 1 year, because is a bit old, it has schrached on the squares, and I was wondering if it is imposible to change the whole case of the phone , not just the front! The whole case?? Thanks alot!

  • if someone tell me that , is 9500 works like the other wifi phone,eg zylex or Ut star using the username and password and call using Ip Mvss9

  • Its a great phone, also you can use 2 GB MMC! it works properly.. I had a camera, a mini-laptop and a phone, but now with the AD-15 music adapter a camera, a mini-laptop and a phone andd its a music set.. 2 gb music and with 5.1 speakers you can PARTYY!.!.!

  • hey guys n9500 is not that glamorous nor classy phone. My cousin who's in 1st year highschool has one for taking notes and doing stuff (porn clips), my driver even has n9500 he got it from blackmarket, it cost half the price in cellshops around the Philippines. As for me my second phone is 9500 because its bulky and i use it for taking notes in class and watching movies while waiting for my ride. for those who are so proud about the phone's price or bragging in the forum for having this phone... forget it! this phone is cheap! It has "CHEAP" written all over it.

  • thanx for open comment ojup so ppllllllllll better think bout it

  • Anyone who has info if the n9500 works better with a 1GB MMC?

  • WEP Key lengths. There are to my knowledge only two standardized WEP key length. 40 bit and 104 bit. For some unknown reason these are sometimes to referred to as 64 and 128. You can also choose to input your key as an ASCII string or a Hex string. Hex characters are represented by 4 bits ASCII characters are represented by 8 bits. Therefore WEP key length = 40(64)bits String = 10 Hex Chars or 5 ASCII WEP key length = 104(128) bits String = 26 Hex Chars or 13 ASCII. The other to be careful of when inputting your string is CASE. If you have this sorted and are sure they match your wireless access point. Then once you initiate a WEB session then go to TOOLS and select Conn.manager. Ensure your connection is there. The Wireless symbol W should be enclosed. If you now go to menu and select TOOLS followed by IP address ensure that you have a valid IP address ie within the DHCP range of your WiFi kit. If you see 169.x.x.x then the DHCP is either disabled or failed. 169.x.x.x is an automated response. Check to ensure your have DHCP enabled. From Control panel select the Internet option and then select your access point then select edit. Click on Advanced. Is Auto retrieve IP set = YES. If it is, again does the IP information shown match that of your access point. Hope this helps.

  • Well said.. I just came back from one of hte South east asian country. I found out that some high school student bring N9500. I don't don't know how, or what for, but I asked them , they said they use this as their main phone. don't ask me why? maybe it looks cool.....

  • 4 dos who think n9500 is somethin new for asians "90% of N phones manufectured in asia" so better think b4 u spk or even comment

  • my dad gave this phone to me cuz he cant understand how to use the features and troubleshooting some minor errors. overall its a great phone for the guys with an attitude towards functionality and mobility. great for my projects at school! although processor is abit slow but still its good for me. I used to own several nokias but this, my 38th phone, is definetly something...

  • does this have aol instant messanger

  • can anyone tell me that its original boady is removeable or not

  • Dani, I agree with you nokias products are going down the drain. As you rightly mentioned the 9210 is better than the 9500. Every subsequent Nokia phone I have bought has impressed me less and less.... My expectations from Nokia are high but they are not even meeting half of what I am looking at. Their technical specifications are slowly deteroiating...6210 - 13 Hrs talk time battery life new phones 3 - 4 talk time...technology is improving...nokia seems to be going backwards

  • One of the worst phones i ever bought,I do not advise anyone with this phone,Very Slow,Software gets stuck all the time,I used to have the nokia 9210i before this phone and it worked much better,SHAME ON YOU NOKIA!!

  • hey iwanna buy nokia 9500 the new one for AU$700 dollar is that cheap???

  • i bought this phone in dubai, thought it was too expensive in respect to utility aspect. howevever, i since i live in toronto and because of its wifi hotspots throughout the city, this phone is awesome tohave. only complaint is that recently i have been trying to download application such as MSN MESSENGER for symbian OS as well as some other accounting software, but does not install. ..... if someone could email me aboutt this, it would be great. other than that, the chinese people in this city go crazy everytime they see me use it at a cafe, usually theyare the ones with the best cars in toronto. but with this phone, i feel like im driving a lambo compared to their local phones. ....i intentionally sit in cafes crowded with asians....HAHA

  • Hi, I just planning to buy this phone, pls advice me how's that. I am doing business in Hongkong.

  • This phone is great...it is a little bit slow but it is working fine...the internet work verry good on egde..i install a lot of program..yahoo mess for comunicator series and work woanderful..always i can stay online even when i am on road..verry profesional phone..good job nokia..i have the phone almost from one year and work verry good.. it is true that it is a little slow,..but have a lot of advantace..

  • I have recently purchased the 9500 needing a solution smaller than my laptop for the amount of data I receive / send. I cannot recommend this phone enough - with the 1gb mmc installed acts not only as my "mini office" - but a great mp3 player ( although a little on the quiet side). If you are in need of something with attitude (although rather large) and are serious about the work you do - this is the phone. However my one complaint is when transfering data from the phone to PC Office 2003 just will not display the documents correctly,

  • Let me clarify that previous post. When i say it can't be used as a Fax modem. i mean To send a fax from a Notebook or a Desktop PC using the Nokia 9500 as a fax

  • For those are planning to dish out AED 2700 to buy this phone please note. Its a great phone if you are going to use this as a stand alone device. After much research and forum searching over the past month I have discovered that the N9500 cannot do the following things. a) The Nokia 9500 / 9300 does not allow Class 1 , 2, or 2.0 Fax support, which means you cannot use the Phone as a Fax modem to send and receive faxes. b) The Nokia 9500 takes 70 minutes to open an Excel sheet with 50 rows and 6 columns of data. (Royghly 150kb). It first converts this file to epoc format. No there is no PC software provided by Nokia to do this on the PC before sending it to the Phone. c) The same goes for Word documents. Besides these MAJOR problems, yes The N9500 is a very expensive Phone that pretty much does very little for the price

  • to david: i believe 9500 can only have 256mb for its MMC, if im wrong just upgrade your SW ver. to 5.22... Im using this one and haven't tried 512mb yet.. ths fon very useful

  • I have got this cell a month back. Its really a nice thing to keep. The worst part is - It does *NOT* have the vibration feature. Many of the calls are missed just because of this lacking feature while I am riding on my bike :( Rest is all fine till today :) CHEERS for n9500 owners!

  • hi this is sky i have nokia9500 i think phone is very good cause i just like nokia phones i alos have 9290i,6620.6230,6620, 6682. but nokia9500 is best phone cause we can us wifi.

  • 'error:out of memory': i am trying with no success to delete some of the 80mb memory, it has disconnected the system, i have a 512mb cards which is almost empty, i am trying to switch to another. Now the phone is almost not working. Can someone help ?

  • Is it me or this phone is really very slow ? I tought it was a memory problem but I checked that in phone memory I still have 72 MB and in card memory I still have 82% of 512MB free memory. Does anybody have an idea why this phone is slow ?

  • my nokia 9500 not bad, bulky of course and if anyone can help me to settle the issues on having a corrupted realplayer setting, i would be gratefull.

  • it is an excelent phone, but the resolution of camera and focus too bad i need to know if there any way to improve it

  • I am a Namibian and would like to know if the 9500 has a dictionary and a feature for spelling. My 6310i had both. A great phone, but could do with a better camera and can't use MP3 as ringtone. Please let me know. NAMIBIA LAND OF THE BRAVE.

  • hi there all ... i want to know if n9500 does not really support vibrating alert ? i had i-mate jasjar and lost it. insurance can not recover the set as it is out of stock on o2 based in UK. is it worth going to n9500 after jasjar ? please help me. regards

  • Its sloooooow! The contact book on "the outside" of the communicator sometimes takes several seconds to perform a lookup...

  • How do I configure my N9500 so I can send documents thru email? Do I need to subscribe to an Internet Service Provider? Or is there a way to configure my phone? Please help me. My email address is [email protected]. Thanks!

  • Apparantly Nokia 9500 does not support WEP 128 bit key. can somebody tell me how to configure my 9500 communicator with WEP 128 bit. Nadeem

  • I recently purchased by 9500 Communicator. I have been having problems with the following ; 1 - When charging my phone, the scroll bar does not come to a stop even after 12 hours of charging. I do not experience any drop in battery span. The battery span is the same whether I charge it for 90 mins or 4 hours or more. Could someone kindly let me know any remedial measures to rectify this problem ? 2 - I am unable to register my phone at www.n9500.com it says the IMEI Number is not recognized. Any possible reasons ? Your assistance will be wellcome. Thanks

  • id like to know if i can watch tv from this phone?can i acces every web sites in internet?is this phone the toppest of nokia? i just bought one and i love nokias phone thanks alot....

  • In the next days i am going to get my nokia 9500 and i have some questions;how long is the time to record in this cell?is this the best cell from nokia?

  • can 9500 download chinese (read & write)????

  • A great device. I have always had communicators and have seen how they have developed. There is a new 9300i coming out soon and i hope that the 9500i will be developed. It could improve the camera. Also like the new o2 palm it can go 3g, a faster prossesor, maybe a bit smaller. and maybe the possible TV. This would be the ultimate communicator, and i believe this is the future of this device.

  • I just bought my 9500 yesterday. I just wanna ask if there is any possibility that I can install a theme application for my 9500.. Thanks a lot!!!

  • i have just purchased my nokia 9500 i want to know if i can download the pcsync software of casio on my phone and tranfer the contacts from my casio pocket viewer

  • I just bought my Nokia 9500 yesterday. So far it has been the best phone i have ever used. I tried every program in it and it works perfectly although sometimes the programs work slow but its bearable. I am really satisfied with my phone and I intend to keep my phone until the next communicator comes out, But that wouldn't happen until the next 2 to 3 years. So for now i'm going to enjoy my new phone. Thanks Nokia for making such a great device. =)

  • TO NOKCOM just read your comments on n9000 site.i was being nostalgic and looking up 3310 & 3330 models as there are still lots about & saying how good it was back then & exciting getting your next fone.Do you remember the fiasco when they brought out the next 2 communicators & still did not employ GPRS technology. With 2 fones coming out after such a long time that nextime they might make it 3g,1 m/pixel and 16 million color screen etc & ruin what is a good product.Have not had a communicator yet but always considered it,but with no one ever having one where i live or never actually had a go on one its hard to judge whether i would get used to it.Another issue is it always says in every review that its underpowered which can infuriate ,,it could also therefore suggest poor video playback?

  • A lot better than my previous 9210i. It has everything that I need including the camera and wifi. It can now read adobe files.I am happy with the file management system. It is a lot easier now to transfer files from the PC to the unit and vice versa. It is almost perfect.

  • Hi ppl...i had few questions about thiz phone...i am gonna buy it soon....it says wifi...does it means i can use thiz phone if there is a wifi around me(internet Acess) but would the company charge me for usin the internet or just the internet provider....

  • Communicator 9500 specification says that it has office applications. Does that mean MS Office applications such as word, excel, powerpoint and Outlook or equivalent ?

  • Can you actually read a received fax on a 9500/9300 or do you have to forward it to a regular fax(efax or landline) This is a major buying decision!!! thanks

  • hi,i dont know how to downnload game & see movie on fuull screan & its softwear are not available in market.so pls send me information easy way to try to understand,& downloading in my 9500i thanking u bhads

  • No, T9 dictionary, key board too small for the hands on no big screen on the front, very heavy on the weight, can't fit in the top pocket, just good for using the phone as a handsfree on the table, not as a mobile.

  • i want to ask nokia9500 if i want use fax in microsoft office sheet, how to do?and also if my mp3in message, how to tranfer to ringtone? thanks.

  • What is wireless lan

  • Hi, I drive the new BMW 525i and can't display my numbers etc on the middle consol screen. Can do this with my Motorola V3 but would prefer to use my Nokia 9500. ANy sugestions?

  • whats the maximum MMC storage capacity does it support?

  • It's indeed the best phone for business use, been using it for half year, and never once disapoint the best smartphone I've ever purchase

  • Class A! Amazing except that it's really heavy & long to fit into a trousers pocket. The front screen too could have been wider just like the 6600 / 6630.

  • My WLAN Network is using 128bit WEP key length. My 9500 only has 40,104,232 bit key length. Does anyone now how i can configure my nokia for 128bit.

  • The phone is incredible...We can get everything from 9500...but the phone is very huge and heavy...if only it has body and slim like 9300...

  • Please anybody knows how I turn off the bip when recording conversation on calls? Thank you!

  • can any one tell me about any free web sites from where i can get free softwares and games for my nokia 9500. Thanx!

  • Great phone, this is my 3rd communicator, had 9000 it went swimming, still have 9210i & 9500. Had the 9500 for about 6 months now. This is a business phone with a huge talk time & constantly travels the world & performs as expected everytime. Awesome performance out of nokia bluetooth headset also. Only things missing, vibrating alert & radio. They just keep getting better. Can't believe all the neg reviews, bad apples in every basket, I suppose. I'd buy again without doubt.

  • I own a Nokia 9500 phone and it is one of the best phones i have ever owned... But the only problem is that its a bit slow compared to the I-Mate PDAs. I hope that Nokia will make a new model like the I-Mate JASJAR and maybe better...

  • shahnawaz do you actually own a 9500 or just 'seen' one as you say ?? and don't you work for the Nokia call centre ?? Still no firmware upgrade available for my 9500....takes 2 full minutes to show the 'enter pin code' message when booting the unit...CRAP. Last week I purchased a Hewlett Packard 6365 for $799 from Computer World and in a word - EXCELLENT ! Compared to the 9500 - there is no comparison. HP6365 is FAST, WIFI works FAST, touch screen, zillions of apps on the net. One draw back on the 6365 is the speaker volume- small speaker - small output.( handsfree I am talking here not ear speaker ) If ANYONE is considering buying a 9500 DO NOT DO IT...the phone is a piece of untested CRAP. Check out FIRST the HEWLETT PACKARD 6365.. You wont regret it.. So , Nokia where is my working firmware for my 9500 ?? have you sacked your beta testing team yet ?? Get your developers back in Finland and turn out a QUALITY product---- PLEASE. General question to the group here , on WIFI how long does your fully charged battery last while using the browser etc. regards to all, NokMan ( maybe soon HpMan )

  • The nokia 9500 though funky is a phone with great features. Iam phone freak and hve used almost all phones in the world but i think the 9500 is a great one expecially the wifi. I have connected it to my wireless router and it works fine. You only need to know your wep key for the router you have and bang your communicator is wireles. I check all my mails and browse a lot on it. I don't even care if the phone part is off. The wifi is cool. I even posted this message from my 9500 on my bed. My7610 is my primary phone since the communicator looks a bit bulky as phone. I mostly use the 9500 as a hany browser around the house.

  • When running my GPS module LD-1W it frequently locks-up and hangs the entire 9500 handset. Does anyone know of a reason and/or a fix please?

  • this is absoulutly marvelous mobile set which i have ever seen there are lot of features which can be expected by every person of this era but it is little bit expensive so no matter that it is expensive it has great features in it we can have fun alot

  • This Is Bad Experience Of My Life Time Bcz My Phone Get Me In Problem Due To Switch On I Send My N9500 To Nokia Care At Chandigarh Secter 22.Nokia Care Not Solve The Problem In One Month Then They Send The Phone To Dehli Head Office.

  • My 9500 is a piece of JUNK. Would be happy to sell it on eBay and buy a HP6365 at half the retail price of a 9500. sw.4.51- lockups continually, wifi dodgy, slow slow soooo slow. Poor quality control on Nokia's beta testing teams part, sack them NOKIA ! AND... why oh why...does the Nokia PD-2 flash unit not work with the 9500???????????????????? Dont buy this phone untill Nokia releases acceptable firmware.

  • WOW!!!!!!!!!!! What a phone. Can not beleive people knock this phone. If you want a radio on a phone then you should'nt be looking at a phone like this. Come on people its a business phone not a toy. Granted yes it could do with a vibrate function and a better screen on the front. But just open the think up and use it like it should be used. Well done nokia keep up the good work. 10/10 great phone!

  • 9500 is very great mobile.i hope next year nokia co can make new series of comunicator who mix with pda.

  • Does anybody know where could I get new Flash plugin? There is Flash plugin version 5 in nokia 9500, but many websites require version 6 or even 7. Thanks!

  • Just got it and semmes like evry penny's worth for this phone. only problem is made in chine version seems little cheap quality than others. But didn't give me any hard time so far. If u have extra money u shud go for it (lol).....

  • I've had a 9500 since it was first released in the uk at the end of last year. Orginally, it had lots of software problems such as the browser crashing. The new firmware upgrade fixed a lot of the problems, but the upgrade process was very long (3 weeks). 1 month ago the left hinge broke (mainly my fault) and I had to get a replacement. I was lucky that I was insured and got a replacement after a few arguments with o2 about getting stock. On the whole I'm happy with it but I wish it was lighter and thinner.

  • nokia is one of the best phone i ever seen in my live

  • well this is my best phone i have ever seen i guess nokia are the best in phone because this is not only a phone but also a communicator that is power ful

  • can you view java applets on this phone through the web browser... ie such as yahoo games and java chatrooms and stuff like java tickers...

  • well,i've always loved nokia phones so i thought i should go for the best then i bought the 9500,the inner screen of mine is messed up now cos its so delicate it easily gets scratched.you hardly get softwares that are compatible with the phone.it doesnt have call vibrate.no screen saver,no keyboard back light so its difficult to play games in the dark.it takes time to load,no radio, its so heavy, and it doesnt come with a waste pouch.i think nokia should work on the phone so we can buy the next communicator.

  • I wish it wud b size of 9300 n had vibrate.rest everything is ok

  • Using 9500 from the day it was launched, Tired of Repairs. The part get broken the keys remove, Its not that the phone has fallen & this happens. Even the engineer's at Nokia Care centre many a times refuse to give any answer to the queries raised. The Contact Book runs very slow. If the phone does not get Hang, then there is a problem. It gets hanged atleast 5-6 times in a week. Better should not plan for this phone till they make Upgrade. Nokia Do some thing, Have been using Nokia since the start of Mobile in India.

  • Got one of these, actually onto my sixth in as many months. All of them broke! What a real shame about the totally useless button on the front;it controls almost everything but is so sensitive its a real gamble. You'll spend more time going back and forward trying to get something you want than using it. A real shame after such a long wait. The old 9210i was much better even without all the extra bits. My advice...don't get one, it's rubbish! I called Nokia about it, they told me mine was the first complaint they'd heard and if I didn't like it I should buy a different phone!

  • Jayson, Excellent to do list for Nokis for their future communicator...(they really need to pull up their socks...9500 rather shabby piece of technology...suprising thugh Nokia normally comes up with some good stuff). What i would like them to add is 1) Satellite phone so we can be in touch from anywhere 2) carry case to have a pouches for - drivers licence - credit cards (i know ewallet but that is a few years away in India) - visiting cards - Cash

  • For the price & the size both the outer display & the inner screen are a joke. Video playbacks are pathetic with v e r y limited options. Upgrade the camera pleeeze!!!

  • To become the Greatest phone ever it would need the following updates !!!!!! *magic word activation (as P900 & T610) *blinking Lights for battery life & bluetooth (as P900) *reflector mirror for camera (as P900) *Touch screen ( a definate) *Torch (lost carkeys in dark) *radio & stereo FM speaker *Ringtone composer *TV Facility (IP Datacasting - as 7700) *800x 600 resolution *Stereo earpiece *SD card capability *light on keyboard *GPS (world wide) *ringtones for -Imelody,RMF,AU (as P900) *1.3 meg camera with flash *Allow (Pocket pc) windows mobile apps *Thermometer, countdown, calerie, soundmeter, compass *Chat sms *wallet *3G *voice dial *auto key lock (as 5210) *Pic Identifier on front of phone *3G net works with WCDMA/UMTS *TCP/IP network *send pic messages (9500 can only receive) *series 60 on front *3D Java apps & midlets on front *GPRS 12 Class (9500 10 class) *IR (CIR) home remote *18bit display 254 000K *Birthday reminder for age control (as 6610) *minute beep reminder while on a call on/off (SE T610) *sms with picture reciver (as SET610) *camera usage for scanning & edit documents

  • best ever made , god job nokia

  • I thought this was a stylish phone with good functionality until I realized it has no vibrate!!!!!!!!!! So no being quite and discrete in meetings. You also are unable to use sim and phone memory together. If you want your notification of meetings with a single beep, forgot it. This phone will only work for people who want everyone to know they have it.. Very disappointing

  • One of the best SMARTPHONES....internet on egde conections work realy fine...gret display and the keyboard is very useful...good job nokia...

  • Knock Knock is Nokia listening....when are you launching the new communicator...9500 too old and dated tech...need 3G

  • i prefer the 7710

  • Chris, the Nokia 9500 is a "general purpose" computing and communications device. That means it is universally programmable with software that can be written for it that WILL work. The fact that you have Mac and can't supposedly open files, and even the fact that you're having difficulties, is no reflection on this lovely phone. There are your difficulties, and you should learn to be more patient with a brand new product! No offense intended. I've done everything you said it couldn't.... deleting contacts, opening "PC" files, etc etc. I've had absolutely no problems at all. Give it a chance! Read the manuals! Look around on the net! It's a complex device deserved of study and practice.

  • Hello! i have a nokia 7710 and im planning to switch to the Nokia 9500. Based from experience, i find it very difficult to input text with a stylus, so im considering to buy this phone with a keyboard.

  • Thanks Buddy. Good that you shared your views on the contacts part. It is a hassle and Nokia Should do some thing about it. 9500 is a Cool Phone and to maintain its lead Nokia should invest and solve this problem. I although own a 9300, it also has this limitation. Nokia! are you hearing!!!

  • i love the phone so much and i even want to buy one for my self and my mum

  • I had the 9500 for three weeks, and while the size issues have been talked about before, the functionality was almost perfect. I say almost, because I found a fairly big issue. I have 1400 contacts, and sync with my computer, sync finally worked OK, although via Bluetooth isn't the fastest around. However, wanting to send ANY message, SMS, MMS, or email, resulted in a three minute wait time for the system to open the contacts address book. Now I know 1400 is a lot, but surely busy business people must have more than that. Nokia offered no help and said I should reduce contacts ....this is their flagship business phone and that was the advice. Shame really ..... Swapped out and bought a Palm One Treo 650, and althoughWi-Fi is missed, the ability to send an email in under four minutes is a greater benefit, plus the Treo is much smaller and lighter. I still loved the 9500 but could not live with those delays. 1400 contacts took up 537k of space in the 80M memory, and nothing else on there. A real shame, but the Treo is simply fantastic

  • Nokia, Another Idea.... Can we have a phone that supports 2 sim cards 1 sim for business and number given to everyone 2nd sim private no only for family and friends

  • Hi there guys, I've got to tell you Nokia 9500 is a great phone but not really the best. To use this phone to its fullest extent, the owner needs to have at least a little bit of background in IT. Nokia 9300, it's mainly for the business execs. I've had not much problems connecting to Internet via Wifi and it is only impossible to connect to a router when the signal is LOW. regarding the absence of vibration, it would be better to get a Bluetooth headset with vibration or any other accessories. There cannot be a PERFECT product other wise it'll be too expensive and sales will go down badly for Nokia. Wait for another couple of years... Then the perfect phone may be there.

  • I was given a 9500 and when I turn it on it says Nokia. After a few seconds it disappears and the screen goes blank and just remains lit. Why is this and what can I do to get this thing working?

  • Idea for Nokia, To match both the desire to have handwriting input and key board inputs make a cell phone with features from a tablet PC ---Swivel screen

  • i like it

  • nokia 9500 is a very good and beautiful.mobile.i like it.

  • does the screen take a while to warm up as nokia says 30secs before it lights up please help

  • Nokia..pls launch a new communicator fast not Just a 9500i .... we need something radically better

  • i've bought the 9500 last 2 days..huraaayyy...!!! at last !!! awesome..it is awesome..the best phone ever..

  • i love nokia phones generally but for dis 9500 i am dying to have one it, pity me i cannot afford

  • hi The nokia 9500 is very good and it nice to have touch-scree for the phone . it will be add more value and user frindly. i love my nokia 9500 comunicater. thanks

  • The claim to be hands free is not true, no voice tag. Add voice tag and I'll buy it again. Once I got it home and discovered no voice tag, I returned it and got the 7610, what a let down.

  • this is a perfect phone for everyone, because it's features so excited..so i can take my office everywhere and everytime.. And this phone supported ergonomic QWERTY keyboard, not like PDA's keyboard, so small and not comfortable. i think this is a very very very smart phone..I love it!!!!!!!

  • does this phone vibrates? Thanks

  • my best phone ever so lot of application, games i love this phone just e-mail me if you want some of them

  • Rumors of 9800. Guys a few gossip website are carrying news of an impending launch on 9800 or an upgrade to 9500 ... any idea if this is true and if so when....

  • i really think that this phone is good...but too big and heavy..i find that pda's are much better than these phones..have been using 9300 ,sony erricson p910 p800 p700i.. and nokia 6230i,6630,currently havin nokia 6681 and nokia 9300....

  • NOKIA'S BUSINESS PHONE THAT LETS DOWN THE BUSINESS MAN. No HID profile so it cannot be used with these funky new portable fold up bluetooth keyboards - not even their own! Don't Nokia realise that people are going to want to use such ad-on's or do they think we all have miniture fingers and can still touch type on a keyboard the size of a cigarette packet! Get your act together Nokia or you're going to fall even further behind the competition, the 9500 doesn't even have a spell check to pick up the mistyping caused by the keyboard being so small, why not it's predecessor did? I give up!

  • Hi all.I've been using 9500 for 3 months.Recently been using P900,P910,9210,7650,7610,6600,3650,sgh-v200,v3688+, and a lot more including PDAs like compaq 5150 coz i'm a phone freak guy.In my experience,I dont think P900 and P910 is very good tho.The battery cant last for a day and the memory stick is really expensive.Just the sound it produces is nice.In terms of software,i think are the same as other symbian products. So far,i like my 9500 and make full use of it including wi-fi with agile messenger. The battery also last longer than my 9210.The keyboard is not too small like O2 IIs or Treo 600.The only problem is when i play games too much (i like playing golf pro tour);sometimes it restarts automatically and a bit bulky. It's not a problem to me.Maybe the built in RAM (cache)or whatsoever is low so it restart. And so far, this is the best phone i had that never fails me in terms of flexibility, reliable and very user friendly.I never overcharged my phone anymore using the desktop charger with sync button.I used desktop charger since my nokia 3210 in 1999.Only a few models dont have desktop chargers that sometimes i have to remember to unplug. So much functions and runs with no problem. To solve slow refresh rate problem like slow in opening message, try to decrease total sms in your inbox and stop using large size of mmc/sd.I recommend largest for a mobile is 512MB and if can, use lower like 256MB.If not,buy extra mmc/sd for other purposes (video clips and mp3s).Just my opinion.Sorry if hurt anyone feelings.Thanks...

  • i think its a powerful phone.been using it for close to 8 mths. anyone has any websites for great downloads of softwares applications/games for nokia 9300/9500?

  • I bought one on contract and that was 3 weeks ago, I have since had it replaced twice and , my supplier has now agreed to supply a new phone 6680. I changed from the SE 910 which was really good but the 9500 is useless compared to the Sony Eriksson. Software problems, and the phone locking out.

  • Nokia, Needs to pull up its socks the communictor looks dated and has dated technology. We need a new smart biz phone that is the talk of town and not just the board room..... CNET has listed 910 as their best Biz phone. When will nokia have the best Biz phone.WHEN

  • hello everyone i ve just purchased 9500 cause it has wi-fi.i ve a problem that is whenever i try to connect internet using wi-fi i get message as under "could not find specefied internet server".will somebody help in these matter.thanks

  • Will Nokia be launching a new communicator like P910 with handwriting input / recogonition , vibrator if yes i will buy one

  • why didnt they made it smaller?!,still its the greatest phone/communicator ever!

  • I've bought a Nokia 9500 . It's amazing. I've a doubt . Is it possible for me to install Yahoo Messenger in my Nokia.

  • Answer to Battery uestion: Battery of Nokia 9500 lasts between 3 - 4 days with normal usage. Whereas Nokia 9300 fully switches off after 2 days. Baterries of 9500 and 9300 differ in size and power. Nokia 9500 has bigger battery.

  • Nokia 9500 is very good for the time being. But lack small bits like vibration, 3G, T9 and so on. Heard 9500i is the next release with T9 and vibration.Am not sure of 3G.Camera will be advanced with mega pixles. Device expected between late Aug.- Nov.2005. Nothing new still expected to replace 9300 models.

  • 9500 .It battery needs some work I wonder if Nokia remembers their best phone the 5100 for its battery life. The battery was the back of the phone and not some flimsy cover they put on their nes phones....Nokia go back to those type of batteries as 1) They work longer 2) The make the phone a little sturdier.

  • I bought the phone just 2 days ago, and I have used about 10 hours to try to make the wireless system work, all in vain. The wireless network does not work at all, no matter which combination of settings you choose. It is impossible to connect to anything using a normal Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router. Nokia says it is the fault of the Linksys, but they are wrong, everything else works perfectly with this device. If Nokia goes on refusing to help I will return the Nokia 9500 to the store.

  • hello, Nokia 9500 is a very facinating phone ,it is my dream phone, i cant really sleep agian until i have these phone. REGARDS msb yabatech

  • Hello. Just a few quick questions please: How long does the battery last with heavy use of the internal screen and not many calls? What resolution does it record video? the same as other nokias 6600, 7610,...etc.? Thanks

  • Nokia service is really bad in Bangalore - India....one of the worst experiences i ever had was here

  • Previous comments state software is useless. Not true. Use nokia pc suite to convert your word/excell documents and you can access them on the Nokia 9500

  • can anyone tell me tht is it a good set because i m think to buy it.... and can anyone gudie me tht how long we can record video is it for unlimited length

  • A word of advice for anyone thinking of buying a 9500: its a phone with a camera and internet access. All the other stuff on it as good as useless. The phone will not open any kind of spreadsheet or text document from another device. I've tried with my iMac and my windows XP laptop-it doesn't want to know no matter what format the files are saved in. Also it is not supported by Mac iSync so I can't share my contacts and calenders. You can't delete contacts. I bought this expecting to be able to work away from the office but sadly it doesn't live up to the job at all. Not a single application in the 'try&buy' folder will launch. Nokia PC suite lets me exchange files between PC and phone-fat lot of use that is since the files are incompatible with microsoft works. It looks flash but its a dead duck! If I could send it back, I certainly would as I'm now carrying around a fairly useless brick! Best of luck readers.

  • Is this the latest nokia communicator phone? I guess that it worths 400 EU, it is pretty good and with a lot of new technology

  • I have an older model 9210i which is only just over a year old. The screen became unreadable just before the garantee was up, I got it to the service centre a week or so afetr and Nokia simply said sorry no garantee, I mean a week and then no garantee... Now many functions are not capable of being used without opening so it is now no good. I need to buy a new phone or get this fixed. Is Nokia after sales service really this bad that I have no response from their sales team mailing addresses?

  • Nice phone. No worries about the size or the weight. You can't have it all packed into a matchstick box. But why to leave out the T9 predictive text (the thing that speeds up writing SMS messages on your phone keypad)?

  • I was just wondering how this compares to the Nokia 7710. I know there's no wifi on the 7710. Also, how does the 9500 compare to the new motorola 1010 that is coming out? I'm so confused on what to buy! These nokias seem a little on the large side and the 9500 has no vibration. Tell me your opinions regarding the comparison of this phone to the others I mentioned.

  • Distinctive Thing!!!

  • i wanted to buy 9500 but thinking of the size and the hassle that i would face bringing my phone here and there, i changing my mind to 9300 or O2..i m not an IT related person..plzz can someone help me to decide..?? thanks

  • anyone meet problem for their Symbian OS ? i always need to reboot my 9500 otherwise i cant send my sms... anyone meet that problem and how to slove it

  • I have a question Did on this phone cam be used a Flash software, specialy home made?

  • Please comment which one better mini o2 or nokia 9500?? please email me guys. need ur help.

  • Hey Guys, i just bought this 9500 yesterday, i think its a very good phone, except for connecting to the internet through Wi-Fi, i found it a little bit hard. i think you have to do some setup with your router, but what if you are connecting to a public access point? still havn't figured this out yet. missing the voice tag, vibration, i dont mind the camera. other than that i think its a perfect phone

  • no its not slow, its great,i have it for 1month and its best phone ive ever had.great screen, connectivity, proccesor, memory, keybord and the plastics is top standard!love it

  • I'm in Indonesia!!!! Better I buy N-9500 or N-7710, pleasy reply in Indonesian if you can or if cannot can be in Malay Or English, Please!!!!!!!!!!!

  • hi, this goes out for the nokia team...they are doing a fabulous job... i really like the nokia 9500 and this week planning to buy one... but i would like to know when is nokia coming out with an advanced version of 9500. should i wait or... also would like to know what r the accessories come with 9500. over all a great phone... atleast the looks... cant say anything more as i have not used it yet.

  • Hey guys, heard dis phone is slow.. real slow..! is that so..? other than that this phone does not support T9 and even vibration..! The QWERTY keyboard don't even has backlight.. does anyone knows what other disadvantages this phone has..?

  • no coments only a few words THE BEST OF THE BEST

  • This phone is allmost perfect. If the processor would be a little faster! Common, where can you find a phone with a qwerty keyboard, internet, camera, gprs, sound, picture, video etc, etc!! Look at the market of all smartphones! The Ericsson P 910 is godd but the keyboard is useless. This phone/laptop is a great creation from NOKIA. Even the older 9120 was good, even a bit faster, shame that it has not GPRS. Great job NOKIA!

  • it is a phone only for business users.the speaker phone is not all that good(9210 was better) and the phone is quite slow while switching between aplications, because of which the battery life is very high.the phone gets charged quickly. the camera is reasonably good(the image size may be small but the quality of pictures is very good). i have used the 9210i previously and cannot say which one is better....bye

  • I'm an engineer and Ive waited for the newest and best 90 series Nokia has to offer. But here are some of my comments about the N9500: *Vibration?!!! - I think all phones should come with "vibration call alert" in them! Why, will the vibration affect the screen? *Voice tags? - HANDS FREE?!!! For the "on the go businessmen". Voice recognition is the future. *Touch screen? -Touch screen would be nice. Like a mini tablet pc where the screen can be flipped 360 deg. I think the tablet pc configuration will the future of smart phones. *Keypads (compared to 9300) I think its ergonomically designed. Its more comfortable to use than the 9300 keypads. And please do something about the 4 buttons on the right side of the screen. I don't know maybe put them on the left side. LOL *Size? The size is ok. I know if you make it smaller the keypad area size will reduce too. But can u still make it thinner and lighter? *Plastic all over!!! -Please, professionals deserve better! Anodized Aluminum! Carbon fiber, LOL?etc! They dont drive plastic cars, it should go the same with their phones. *Speed -FASTER!!! I know if Nokia would release a phone with all those features or the perfect phone, it would be bad for the business. How can they pay for their RND team if they put all their technology in one basket and earn less? So what they do is delay the release of these new technologies to get maximum profit. Lets face it its business. It will be bad for future sales. So let the guys on the second level do the inventing and the guys on the first level say what combinations of technology to release to the market. So Until NOKIA releases the improved version of the 9500 communicator, I think the 9500 is a step closer to the future.

  • I'm considering this because of Wi-Fi and camera. just a few questions: 1-what's the battery life, with normal use. 2-what's the resolution of video recording? is it 320x240 (since it is processor dependant) 3-Any pictures of the other face cover for this phone?

  • I think Nokia has done a good job on this 1!But there is more 2 be achieved in of size! Its a great tool 4 business! I found out, though, that u cant be working on,say, word or spreadsheet @ d same time listen 2 music. As 4 d sound,a great job was done with d sound from the mini(or micro)speaker. The camera did well in almost all conditions-still or video! Another drawback is its speed. When u say, change colour schemes, its very slow 2 apply d change!(May be its due 2 its screen size!) Conclusoin:Nokia has again proved that they are still a force 2 reckon with when it comes phones that enhances biz on d move!

  • the 9500 communicator is without doubt excellent! however i have problem with my real player setting!-its corrupted! when i goto control panel>connection> real player setting. this prevent me from video streaming . otherwise all are ok. tq&help!!!

  • i think this phone is just perfect for internet performance such as chatting, browsing, download, email, etc. its features support everything you need in computer. it's just good

  • which one would be better?motorola mpx or 9500?

  • i have this phone rest al is cool but if i open a picture on the web and wish to save the same i am not able to do that if the option for save picture is not highlighted i can save the attachments in the mails but not the .jpg's which are opened in a web page need help ASAP PLZZz Thanks

  • the phones good. No doubt. Can anyone let me know if T9 text input is possible, so messaging can be used faster whithout opening the phone.

  • I now have the phone. I really like it, lots of great features. Many great apps, the browser is much better than any I've seen in PDAs. I just bought a BT headset and think I wasted my money since the 9500 doesn't have voice tags. Kinda defeats the purpose, never really hands free operation as the ads sugguest. Dislikes: 1) NO voice tags 2) camera quality, they have good cameras in other models. 1.3mpx 3) NO vibrate. Why would you leave this out. In silent mode, you had better have the phone sitting in front of you to see it flashing. 4) Speed Speed Speed, why is it so darn slow? 5) backlit keyboard would be nice. wish list: 6) Stereo headphone jack is needed since they advetise stereo capeability. 7) heck, why not put in 802.11G while ther're at it. I had to switch my accesspoing from g only to both b and g. 8) would touch screen be that hard to add? I really like using the phone, I just hope they do better with the next model.

  • Oh come on, if u wan ur phone to have a megapixel camera, why dun u buy a digital camera? handphones are phones not camera, do u hear ppl callin it "handcamera"? childish thinking... wat most important things handphones should have? -user friendly -design -useful function -ABLE TO MAKE A CALL

  • it is the best in gprs and large internal memory 80Mb and special wide screen

  • If you want a megapixel, get a real camera. Smartphones are not for taking printable pictures, at least at this time.

  • Just Now I Used This Phone" The NOKIA 9500 Communicator "Because so like This Phone!! But i think's is to bad the Camera Not 1 MegaPixel!!

  • It's a big phone. It's a heavy phone. It's an UGLY phone. And I wouldn't trade it for anything else. It does everything I need it to, and a whole lot more besides. Quite simply the best phone on the planet, IMHO. What would I change if I could? A touch-screen would make websites a little easier to navigate. The web page rendering could be a whole lot faster. Voice commands and voice dialing are important - can't understand why Nokia left those out! But for now, I'm happy.

  • Gosh, this phone is huge. In this era of miniaturization, why does Nokia insist on a very heavy bricky phone. To think that it doesnt offer much functionality over the much smaller SE P910. The 9300 should have been perfect with a camera. That is the phone I would buy only if it had a camera even a VGA one, which is useful for taking pictures of often forgettable contacts. Nokia used to be king but they are in trouble. For a long time, they refused to make a flip phone, which is the trend nowadays, the result they lost a considerable market share to Samsung. They introduced so many forgettable models, which only differs in their faceplates but not features. Now they decide to offer a smart phone. Albeit a big, bricky remote like. I wouldnt be caught dead heaving this kind of gadget near my head. I would easily look like a dork. My suggestion to Nokia is that make a smartphone with weight less than 200gms. Not much bigger than a cigarette case and not much thicker than an inch. Features are OK which Nokia has a lot of, but what good are these if you can't use it more often because of the awkwardness of size. One hour talking in this phone without a head set will cause arm muscle strain, I can assure you that. Now what are the alternatives? Imate has a couple and they have the venerable Microsoft OS. Hard to beat for stability and functionality not to mention, familiarity and user friendliness. If you must have symbian, The SE P910 is still the king of all smartphones due to its balance of everything: design, features, prices and stability of OS. The screen of the SE is way better and brighter. I have compared them both in the store and there really is no contest. Nokias are known to have crappy, dim displays and this Nokia is no exception. Everyone is forking out 256 displays and they are still making phones with 65K display. Even ease of use is no longer an exclusive nokia trait. Other new phones are more user friendly. Nokia phones are only user friendly to repeat customers, but for new ones, they have a very illogical way of designing their interfaces. As they say in the business community, Nokias are for "dumb" people. For tech-savvy ones, there's always the Sony Ericsson, Imate and Samsung alternative.

  • One thing makes this phone better then the rest for me; built in fax. Saved my butt a number of times. Highly recommend Powerdesk by Symbianware to be used as a desktop replacement. I wish there was a backlit keyboard and a vibrate function but other then that its great.

  • I'm sorry I do not have a 9500. I have a 9290. It is big as cell phones go. But it is VERY small compared to a laptop. It is the best PDA I have ever used. I had a palm pilot. I sold it on ebay.

  • it's very slow the program such as zip manager and often bollix

  • Great phone if you have right software like PowerDesk to help manage your task/calender etc.Opens multiple POP/IMAp email which is great too. For Arabic, go to philoc, they have a software..it may be a slow phone but for me it works great & I love the WIFI..saves me $$ on GPRS.Good Cam resolution as well.

  • I cannot understand why such a great phone lack of the VIBRATION mode, and always slow and do not support chiense language in view of the china and asia market, since the 9210 day, many years ago, I hope Nokia can take the feedback seriouly and improve this good phone to a better phone SOON, FOR the USERS.

  • im using 6630 im very much satisfy that device i brought from (fono) thanksfull

  • it is really fabulous

  • i just wanna inform you guys out there,,, never ever buy this fone. first of all the price is expensive for the standards of this phone, it is way too large in size, features are inadequate and the it is extremely sloww.

  • i was playing with the phone by mistake i press offline profile and i didnot set up the time for the profile. now i cannot come out of the profile phone is on sleep mode i donot see any thing on the screen try to power on it says offline profile is active. can any budy tell me how to come out the profile when the phone is in offline profile. thanks [email protected]

  • I have nokia 9500 but the light is off all time how i put the light on in the nokia9500 the screen is wirking but no light the phone 9500 is ok just the light is off please i need help ASAP 213 25 47 16 67

  • a very very poor attempt by Nokia to make this phone a world class leader. Too many error and software conflicts to work properly. I will not but another communicator for a very long time . A very bad experince. Surely from Nokia one would accept a very top class product. Shame.

  • simply a great phone..woulld have been better if it wud have been d size of 9300..no issues wth the software as der r so many applications d phone is obviously gona b a little slow..but the 80 mb memory on the ram really helps to save data..

  • - very slow phone - the "built-in" browser Opera is not able to display 30% of the Internet sites ! ... (because they are tuned for IE)

  • The sony ericsson P900 is far better device and is more user friendly quality materials and less expensive than NOKIA 9500. which has some keys placed awardly on the front cover e.g. THE MENU BUTTON

  • VERY VERY slow phone. I do not understand why Nokia are so cheap with their phones. All nokia phones (take the 6600 for example) are very slow.

  • The Wi-Fi, QWERTY keyboard and big display makes it the best.

  • perfect !!!

  • Very very nice. A perfect tool for businessman. The 9500 is slow and thats it. No more complains!

  • got one, but had to return it....no voice tag. How can nokia advert handsfree without voicetag. I really felt cheated.

  • I personally found it a really useful cell, especially for office use and for those who travel alot for their business purpose. But I have a question from 9500 user, that if they have any software trouble with their Nokia 9500? It hang up some times. So kindly confirm me.

  • Hi guys. My dad needs a good phone which can load entire web pages for business. I have 6630 but it,s not supporting flash. I want to know if communicator's browser 'll make accessing web pages just like internet explorer. Or is there any advantage to go for 7710. Kindly help me. I wanna get the phone soon.

  • hey..i want to ask if u guy can tell me what mobile it worth to buy nokia 9500 or d500..n why? thanks

  • i cant login yahoo mail or hotmail with this phone, anyone please? p/s:i can sign in but the page is blank ..

  • hey ppl i have read almost all the opinion abt the nokia 9500 and O2 XDAIIs but i dont know which one is the best or worth to buy , so help me in buying one of the phone . thanx ...

  • i been using this phone for last one month now i can say this phone has no comparison whast so ever with p910 or other existing phones and this phone is not also as bulkky as many people here r mentioning believe me its worth to buy

  • Phenom phone that functions as an effective communication device. Not as bulky as I thought, can fit in my front pocket. Likie driving a Camry with a Hemi in the engine. Had considered a P910 and the IMate PDA2K, but this device blows them off the road!! Great e-mail ability, love the option of selecting WiFi or ATT Internet when connecting to the web, other feaqtures are pragmatic and operate smoothly. Shortcomings? It would be nice to have a lighted keyboard for night driving. Oh, unlike earlier promotional literature, this phone is cheaper than the 9300. Purchased both to make my selection and trust me... there is no comparison. The 9300 is too compact and a pain in the a-- to use the keyboard. As my clients have stated, this is a computer with a phone.

  • how does the 9500 ringing with vibrate....can it be....how the settings...

  • Great phone... no regrets selling of my xda2 to change for this n9500. The only let down is vibrate mode is missing.

  • Well, Is a Great Phone... But I wish Nokia coud think little more about People need now days.. i mean why they have not tought of a better Camera in this Phone... Come on i know its good Camera, but it could be better if it was 1.3 Mega Pix. Second, Why its Bulky...I guess if 9500 was in the size of 9300 it would be more better to handle around. Third... Im sure in next few month we will have 9400...I mean we Have 9300 and 9500....where is 9400.. is it going to be a new phone feat"ing all the things thar 9300 and 9500 dont have.Like a God Camera.

  • Anybody knows how to go about removing the operator logo on the external screen? I've been trying but failed.

  • i've been using n9500 for the past 4 mounths now.. and i think its the best phone out there.. i'm not saying its perfect (what is?!) but if you have the money i think its worth buying. the bigest draw back is the processing speed. its a bit slow. but with all those feature i wouldnt complain. besides you still could bare with the slowness of the phone. secound draw back is the batery. if you only have two bars left.. you better charge it or else that phone will hang like an apple on a tree. ohter then that evethings normal.. one more thing, i love the Wifi and the camera.. the camera has a great resolusion.

  • I think the Nokia 9500 is unique because it is the first phone that is able to view webpages in full and open up through the side as well as have two screens. It also could act as substitute for a laptop because it has all the laptop features, but what i like to ask is how do you use the internet on it. It says my GPRS is not subscribed to how do i subsribe it.

  • A good phone.great features.but though a bit large in size . i mean cant be carried in pocket.plz reduce the size "NOKIA"

  • Can you play any games on the 9500??

  • this is best , but i am still confused in selection between ImatePda2k or Nokia. Can some one help in deciding

  • does anyone have im+ for 9500/9300 registration code... i will pay for it. if you do email me at [email protected] thanx

  • hey i got a 9500 too... best phone i've had.. i've had the sonyericsson p900, treo 600, motorola a780 and NOTHING is even close to this 9500..

  • I will not go into comparisons between IPAQ (6315) and Nokia (9500). I have them both. I will just say the following. Both units have their pro's and con's and should not be compared as they are VERY different in style, operating systems and hardware makeup. Its like comparing Apple against Windows. Its a no win battle. They both have their strong points. I like both units (6315/9500)and use them extensively, but on/for different applications. For messaging (all) I prefer the Nokia 9500 BUT not when it comes to handling and viewing attachments. It falls behind the Pocket PC unit. The biggest drawback on the 9500 is the speed of processing, and the biggest drawback on the HP is the stability of the Pocket PC operating system, which in time, I have little doubt, will be superior, but for the meantime seems the Symbian guys are ahead with a tried an tested platform. I have had not a single crash with the 9500 but daily with the HP and I am on my 3rd unit already. I said I was not going to make comparison :-) My parting comments are both units are great and serve their purpose, which is to be a portable communication voice and data device!

  • If you want a touch screen and vibration...then lets compare apples to apples.... The Nokia 7710 would be a MUCH better comparison to the iPAQ. In fact, it BLOWS the iPAQ out of the water. Kind of makes the iPAQ look a little rotten huh?

  • Attn: Dave Totays (& everyone else without a clue) Lets go thru your INVALID points: 1. 9500 has 11Mbs on WLAN, vs 801Kbs for the Ipaq 2. The 9500 has 80Mb of USEABLE & EXPANDABLE memory vs. the iPaq at 55Mb. So more than 25% of memory out of the box. 3. The 9500 has an INTEGRATED qwerty keyboard vs. the iPaq having a "clip on" qwerty. LOL 4. The 9500 has an MP3 player vs. the iPaq which does NOT. 5. The 9500 has faxing capabilities vs. the iPaq which does NOT. 6. The 9500 can view webpages in FULL VIEW vs. the iPaq and all of the other phones on the planet CANNOT. 7. The MSRP is NOT 1/3 for the iPaq vs. the 9500. Currently is is $799 (9500) vs. the iPaq's $499. So, the actual difference is ONLY 38%. You also have to figure in the FACT that the 9500 is brand new, has more functionality, more memory, and is a better phone. The iPaq has been out for awhile, and just like the INFERIOR iPaq, the price on the 9500 will come down to $499 within a couple of months. I guess SOME of you still will not want this phone (9500), because after all...it doesn't have "vibrate"... boohoo

  • Brilliant phone everything a techie needs. Anyone looking for a "stylish phone" go away as this not for you plain and simple! So people slating this phone coz its ugly go get a designer phone which is inferior and ...well... useless

  • The review doesn't even mention the Hewlett Packard iPAQ H6315!! This iPAQ has all the features of the "great" Nokia 9500 and more!! Most importantly, the iPAQ costs one third less while offering more features. To mention a couple: touch screen, vibrator. How one could overlook the iPAQ when comparisons with other phones are made is mind boggling.....

  • This phone is the a brick. It looks like one and it weights like one. The design of Nokia phones is getting really bad. Look at brands like Samsung or Philips. These Korean and Dutch guys know how a phone should look like. Common Nokia you can not be serious with this.....

  • wah.....this phone is not wat a phone should look like... it's not really ugly but why make such a weird looking phone..... if u want that much features why not just buy a laptop.... the cost is almost the same...

  • I whould like to buy Nokia 9500 mobile... so contact me as fast as u can please

  • nokia9500 is the best of nokia product handset

  • the 9500 is not what a phone should be, this is what it could be. as far as i know it is the most option packed phone out there, and everything in it works, most work well enough. the pc suite is something i couldn't get to work, yet, but i'm researching it. as for the size, i like it, it feels luxurious and business-like

  • Do anyone know when Nokia 9500 comes with the current WIFI protocol 11.g ? The 11.b that are in the phone now is old technology and very slow compered with 11g

  • long awaited,I do not like the fact that you have to use keys on the right side of the screen when surfing.while your left hand, thumb and the far left keys on the key bord are left unused, i think and hope that first software upgrade will take that in to account.

  • 9500's size is quite large not easy to handle.

  • i like nokia 9500

  • This phones is extra ordinary bcos it really suite my taste

  • Greeting I would like to check with anyone are there any method that Nokia 9500 with the service of EDGE and connect to Laptop? I do know that one of the method is via Bluetooth however since Bluetooth is an open standard so the speed might narrowed down the speed. As to share that EDGE speed with upload and download is 384 kbps. I have tested it out that if I were to browse through the site within the Nokia 9500 then the speed is fast. However if I were to connect my laptop to Nokia 9500 via bluetooth, the site that I browsed through IE(Laptop) is very slow. Hope to hear from the forum group members. Thanks Regard Darren

  • it's a wonderful & complete phone, definitely the 1 I want, for business as for pleasure, the seize is not a problem, while using it, you're be glad that you don't have to fiddle on it, excellent product to me !!!

  • good stuff but as usual nothing can be perfect and this phone also has few weak points. it is too slow. lack of vibration function and lack of many necessay functions on outer small display menu. display is excellent and you won't miss your wide screen tv watching a movie clip on the inside screen of 9500. recommended only for serious clients. if you buy this product only because of its look. then am sure you will be fed up with its size. for the communictor lover this is an excellent piece. @t. khan.- warsaw

  • Fantastic, I just bought this phone. Everything's inside. What u want more? People said, communicator phone was very complicate but this one, perfect~~!!! It's true, believe me...

  • Hmm - pity about the lack of vibra alert. Wonderful features but why is it so slow?

  • hello nokia this is mahesh and i would like to know why is nokia 9300 more expensive than nokia 9500 ,since 9500 has camera and is more enchanced than 9300 thank you mahesh

  • Fucken crap phone! given to me by company IBM and i returned it after a week! Got a D500 much better. Nothing works on the Nokia 9500 and its so slow! Connecting to VPN i.e corporate lans bloody arseache!Never but this shit phone!

  • I also have 9210i and when I activate the fax modem from the telephone it works fine, but with 9500 I have no chance to send a fax from Windows. I tried to send a fax from the telephone itself and it works so the fax is not broken.

  • I would like to know how it is possible to send a fax from Windows standart fax program through Nokia 9500. I installed the IrDA drivers coming from Nokia web site but even then it doesn't want to send the fax. Windows is coming up with a message that there is a problem while trying to send the fax. The same happen when I try to use the USB cable. I was wondering if somebody have solution for this issue.

  • since purchase i am unable to transfer my data from 9110 to 9500.In 9500 i am unable to install my memory card.please recommend me with a model with the same features

  • Nokia 9500 can take up to 1GB MMC card max. Now I am using TwinMOS 1GB MMC card for my 9500. I can download a lot of MP3.

  • i have one in my hand.its make me mad. because i had to turn it to service for two times and not comeback now.the problem is all about 9500 can't boot-up the system.if it come back and the same problem happen again, i think i'll trow it to someone face of nokia-thailand.

  • For new applications very long time

  • Its best piece ever i used i had 9110 after 9210 & 9210i now i use 9500 its slow but better than all other communication devices available in the market i use it with 1GB MMC card works fin with me the 128 MB limitations were with 9210 but with 9500 its purrs like a cat. Its the best ever by NOKIA

  • nice phone

  • good

  • Absolutely Superb. It's a true business organiser / phone. The new operating system is very robust. Excellent Keyboard

  • Extremely slow software, slower than 9210. Slowest software I've ever seen on phone.

  • I got mine finally and what a dissapointment!!! It's now on ebay and I am back to my HP which is neither perfect...what an anti-climax!!

  • An excellent piece. Well compacted and full option. I really love it.

  • Now two weeks using the 9500. Hangs during SMS and MMS use. Very, very slow. 128MB MMC max. At first chance its the P910 ..

  • i want to know something.. why i can't use 256mb mmc with 9500... is it true 128mb was the max size for 9500... thank...

  • Well...i am a user of Nokia 9210i....while feel angry while as a user here, as found out the differences of the 9500 and 9210i of the data cable is not allowed to used while the clip is different....while i notice the new 9500 given a smaller box as 9210i as the packaging...the bluetooth tech plus the wifi....enable given us lots of advantages...as this 9500 and 9210i still does having or made the same mistake is during night time we cannot see it at all while totally darkness...come Nokia wake up!!! improved it man !!

  • price dump in iran price now 8,000,000Rls

  • Good day, Please I want to know the Price of Nokia 9500 and if they are shipping it. Because I want to know if it has been shipping to Nigeria. I will like to get your reply soonest. Thanks.

  • i am waiting for nokia 9500i hehehe :)

  • Very good

  • It's only a "pencil box" with functions.

  • I wanted to ask that all the phones models that u people have displayed every thing seems to be okay but what about the condition of the mobiles ie are they new or 2nd hand etc.

  • no the phone does not even vibrate!!!

  • i assume that this 9500 doesn't vibrate, eh? or it does? can someone please let met know ?

  • Now In Singapore, the price is about S$1200

  • 128 SSL en-encriptions don't work on it!!major software glith!!i.e on line banking...Symbian software very slow..and the cradle sync does not work hardly with XP!!! via USB I know have tried it for 3 weeks before i gave up on the Nokia 9500 and got a Orange SVP M2000(i.e Xda2s) much better and much much more stable,Nokis 9500 has No WAP(i know wap is nothing brillaint but u know..) people who want to buy this phone want to sync easily and connect to VPNs (virtual private networks SSL 128BIT) easily not the headache I had! Never again...will i buy or recommned this phone....even the XDA 2 was better than this!!!also the speed which data loads is so slow via GPRS but when i changed sim and put it in the SVP M2000 it was much more quicker!!about 50% so people it not all that and it wieghs a ton and it is very fat!

  • Nice phone but with one major setback (for me) It doesn't work with my car-kit Nokia 610! Even tough the phone has bluetooth Nokia failed to add that function and according to a source at Nokia it can't be implemented in the future.... Darn!

  • This Phone is Like a dream. All the Functions like 65K Colors;intergreated camera; PdA functions;Bluetooth & Edge Makes it the Worlds most advanced phone Till Date.Simply the greatest ans sexiest Phone i Had ever seen.

  • The 9500 isn't a great improvment on previous models - quite slow.. too much money spent on cosmetics and not enought on functionality. Play with it before you buy it or you may be disappointed.

  • highly functional and distinctive in nature.in short,it is the best phone i could ever imagine.

  • how much prize for Nokia 9500 ? thank you

  • i test it thats good phone

  • Just bought dis fone 3 days ago in Sg after dreaming to have since Indonesia is d first country to launch dis fone. Recommended Retail Price S$1,388 without line. d fone is GREAT!!! only vibrating function gone :( sigh...

  • I have used NOKIA 9500, It is perfect phone in its class, also it is having few differant featurs that other phone cant, also the display is perfect, and much better, i was using P910i but i have shifted to 9500 because of it use, but in here in market people says that phone is having software error but i have not found still, it is working well, also camera is good, battery life is also good it is going till 3 days and the browser is also good, directly we can open the site, also it has a great thing that the joy pad given in the phone we can use it as mouse, and the buttons are smooth, and perfect, also unique feature is voice is loud and clear, and ringtones, it is supporting high end MP3, Wav, also if someone is using touch screen phone like PDA or S.E. P-800 or P9XX they will find it hard to use, But if some one is using NOKIA Phone it is quiet User Friendly, I think NOKIA Have launched it late but given perfect prize to users who are use to Nokia 92XX, But still in india people are waiting for nokia 9300, I have taken this phone for INR. 41000/- (USD. 925) (EURO. 710) The Dealer Price is INR. 35016/- (USD. 785) (EURO. 605) NOKIA ALWAYS CONNECTING PEOPLE, MAKING FUTURE BRIGHTER & BETTER,

  • This phone price in iran 9.000.000Rls equal price simcard phone???!!!

  • It is $885 in USA The only thing missing is a vibrate alert

  • What a prize it is! I think anyone who buy it must be crazy - RM3988.00 .I really never think this is a prize of the phone- GILA!!!

  • Nice very nice but very expensive!!!!

  • What your mean about"AHAHAHHA.. INDONESIA be the first country in the world that has launched n9500",HARRY!Are you jealous or something because your country not be the first for launching N9500?Don't cry boy, maybe you can buy that first if you take a trip to Indonesia.

  • I'd like to change my p900 to Nokia 9500. This is a very excelent device :-)

  • Hello, I was recently given a 9500 by my network provider. I've been using it for 3 days now. Prior to this I was using a sony Ericson p800. It seems that the Ericson is a more user friendly phone. I may send this back and get a p910i instead.

  • When is the Nokia 9500 available?

  • Harry, i can only find the least price in sg abt $1450.. so contact me where i can find $1400 ofthe price.. In brunei, its $1500.. what i heard is dat dis phone is slow.. is dat true?

  • this phone has launched in singapore for $1400 without contract

  • the best ever communicator i've had. from 9110i to 9210i..and now 9500. i've skip 9310 bcoz its as if i changed the casing of 9210i. the Wifi is cool! free internet anytime! and fast!

  • Boys I have it. I am from Romania and I bought it yesyerday with 900 USD. But I am very dissapointed. The design is worse than I expected it is even uglier than 9210 i. Really. So I will change it for a 9300. The camera is unappropriate to use for the 9500, and I do not like the Nokia change who decided to come back and put the microphone on the usual way, not on the backwards as we used to know. I am really dissapointed. Liviu

  • S$1750 in singapore,

  • this machine is 35000 in india pune

  • The 9500 should have a better resolution than 65, other features is good but the price is not reflective with its performance and design

  • Excelent, great ,

  • This thing costs higher than a good laptop. It might be perfect, but on second thought,it is way too expensive.Better buy a p910 and a good watch with the same money.

  • the phone can be considered as the best smart phone, the only thing that make ppl dissapointed is ITS CRAZY PRICE

  • Only thing it is missing is a vibrating ring! Othervise I give it a A+

  • Who thinks its big? This unit is a small laptop and performs higher than a pda.Its got everything a pro needs

  • Dear Sirs/Madam, let me know about the price of 9500. and let me know where can i buy it? regards,

  • This unit is good in terms of its functionality but the design is worst, i think NOKIA 9500i will be better.

  • HELLo - which of Major European languages are optional in nokia 9500 communicator? thanks.

  • nokia 9500 very good

  • my name is eddi-kuete really appreciate the effort of nokia for this phone that is manufactured nokia9500 , and i want to have one any moment from now, the function seem appealing to me i love i desire to have it and i will get in the name of GOD ALMIGHTY AMEN any time now.i'm a nigeria ,located in africa.i adverse all business men and women to hove this communicator for their support. from eddie-kuete .

  • Eeeh...guys.....some of you might know that this one is the successor of the 9210, which was excellent in features but each 9210 I sold I received back for repair. I even had one client which bought 3 of these (9210) adn after they all broke down for the 3th or 4th time he decided to trade them all for P800's.....which was not a very bad decision I believe. So please be careful, wait a few weeks/months for new sw or whatever! My trust in this one is below zero, but hey...that's just me...

  • If Nokia can put a 176x220, series 60 screen in front, then this phone will be perfect.

  • The Nokia Comunicator appears to be the only truly Business orientated phone available on the market. The competition units can't even send fax's. So when can we expect the 9500? Whats the holdup?

  • I have been using the 9210i communicator and I see that the new features are an enhancement of the existing nokia. Some of the features are very helpful i.e. triband, GPRS, WLAN (mostly connectivity) whereas others such as a camera and similar accessories features may not be as tempting as the main component of a cell, an organizer and a mobile office.

  • Nice try Nokia but if i want to walk around looking like i'm talking to a television remote control or typing on a tiny laptop then i'l buy this phone. Nokia has poor design and believe it or not design is just as important as features on a phone. Nokia are lagging, it looks too square, too tall, too black.

  • Looks like i'll be waiting for this one to come out... i'll be getting one as soon as it gets released

  • I want 9500 nokia for India

  • hi guys, well i am proud to say that i have had the pleasure of using the nokia communicator since its very first model which was nokia 9000, then came 9000i followed by 9110 then 9110i,then 9210, followed by 9210i. i have used all these sets and since they are still with me, i use them from time to time. the nokia 9500 is the devil. i have been madly waiting to get my hands on it since long and for that i dont mind spending anything. i am using a p900 now but even used xd2a earlier. they are all simply crap. nokia 9500 is gonna rule for sure man and i definitely wanna be one of the rulers ruling with my 9500....

  • it's simply fantastic, for nokia to come out with something like this. i love it. hope the price will not be t4oo much.

  • to jayson, first of all, how the hell do you know whether this phone has or has not those functions you listed, of course some are obvious that it doesn't have, but some i don't think you'll know unless you're the manufacturer..even if you've read reviews about this phone, the phone used was still a prototype.. anyway, with all the features listed, i have nothing to say, maybe you can just bring a notebook around with a phone card and a camera plus a torchlight with a thermometer and bring along a pedometer or perhaps even a gps transmitter or something...what else do you want? or perhaps bring a doctor with you and check your heartbeat rate every minute? you're asking too much from a phone, lol...not even the most powerful has all the features listed currently, and i doubt so with the next 2 years...different phones are for different classes, you can't expect all of them to be merged, just like asking for something like a computer merged with tv, radio, oven, and whatever you can think of, that's just a bit too far ahead

  • Great phone but missing these features to make it the greatest piece of technology of today. *magic word activation (as P900) *blinking Lights for battery life & bluetooth (as P900) *reflector mirror for camera (as P900) *Touch screen ( a definate) *Torch (lost carkeys in dark) *radio & stereo FM speaker *Ringtone composer *TV Facility (IP Datacasting - as 7700) *800x 600 resolution *Stereo earpiece *SD card capability *light on keyboard *GPS (world wide) *ringtones for -Imelody,RMF,AU *2.3 meg camera *Allow windows CE apps *Thermometer, countdown, calerie, soundmeter, compass *Chat sms *wallet *voice dial *UMTS *auto key lock (as 5210) *Pic Identifier on front of phone *3G net works with WCDMA (as 6230) *TCP/IP network *send pic messages (9500 can only receive) *series 60 on front *3D Java apps

  • where slim piece and all functionin .the one nobile.number first in mobile.

  • nice

  • th phone was really terrific wth an laptop wthin it, truly outstanding

  • melih, that's a really stupid question, really stupid indeed...the purpose of wi-fi is to connect to internet wirelessly...

  • great and detailed review of Nokia 9500 see this link

  • Internet via WI-FI??? but of course...silly Q

  • i think this mobile will make the life more easy. thanks for nokia team work.

  • Just Incredible !!! Wish i could afford one

  • I think there is one disadvatage in this device which is jumping from field to field when exploring the internet, using "TAB" key not good beside using a "PEN" like other devices, what do you think guys ?

  • it will be good to buy this after 9210i. i want to ask a question. is 9500 able to have internet connection with wi-fi

  • ....well, I already have a 9290 communicator, so it's only natural for me to upgrade to the 9500 communicator. I think the 9000 series cellphones/pda's are innovative and quite entertaining. They can only get better. I can't wait to get it!

  • In my opinion, Chea A90 is much better!

  • I can`t help waiting to buy this lovely phone. I like it so much. When will it to come to Indonesia market?

  • where is the camera i cant see it

  • EXPensive phone !!!! $ 800 !!!!!!wawawwww

  • wow.finally multisystem.:)

  • Good Design, good camera result, usefull for business man

  • Can you tell me whether nokia 9500 supports any device management and if so, please provide the details of it.

  • does it suitable to a teenager that only 16 years old like me? does it only good for a business men? i only like a phone that have camera,mp3 ringtones, keyboard n 65k color screen this phone got more than that so i like this phone but the price ... are too high for a teenager like me!!

  • i am waiting this handset because i am very crazy for new mobile handset

  • I have been waiting for this phone since it's been announce to public. Looking to the features, I think phone is the best phone for all businessman or even people who like to utilised their phone.Bravo to Nokia.

  • I believe the 9500 is Nokia's answer to the P900 from Ericsson. I hope it is the phone we users of 9210 have been waiting for. The 9500 should correct the "memory lapses" of 9210. I will definitely use it. I hope the price will be right.

  • I think it's the most flashy model ever.

  • I am interested in buying this phone. Could you please advise when it will be in the market and the price.

  • Ultimate!Waiting from last 3 months

  • I want to know how much does the 9500 and 6620. and 3120. and 7610 and I want a pictures with eatsh one

  • I think this one is very interesting product that i looking for. Right now I am using the XDA II PocketPC phone edition but the Device is not suitable for use when I was driving in a car. Compare with the comunicator 9500, this one would be easier because we can still dialing a number with a one handed operation while driving. As well as Nokia 9210i, the qwerty keyboard is very usefull with a big screen resolution display when typing sms and browsing a WEB. As well as a GPRS connection, the EDGE technology give us a better speed performance and we can be connected anywhere we need and with integrated WIFI and VGA Camera make this product one of the best. I hope that the Nokia 9500 will be launch to the Indonesian market faster.

  • Thanks for the built in Vibrate. Now the Communicator will VIBRATES.

  • Hi Very Good work.... i have changed my mobile 9 time in 6 months due to your site .. who gives me information about new mobile phones .. your site is too koool but please can u add the price too to the Mobile phone specification so it would be rather easier to select the mobile phone.

It's Classical' a device 2be used in all assundry, with an assumed 6-9yrs Rating to Top Electronic Models' with Beauty projected by Mothern Technology. Personally, I call Communicators Mobile Office. Unlike it predicesor Nokia 9200.Nokia 9500 is Not a Toy but but a Communicator with Stance. [Let the above ratin be True after Date of 1st Sale]. -Nnamdi-A.Chuku(Engr) .19/04/04.

  • Looks great, shame it's a god damn brick.

  • SuperDoper./ I hope you was joking about Chea being Rolls Royce of mobile phones. Nokia is more like Ford Massed Produced Tat. The Best Phone companys are. Motorola Samsung Sony-Ericsson Alcatel Panasonic Mitsubishi Philips Sagem LG Sharp Tel.Me Mitac Handspring The rest are Crap.

  • Well, CheaComm is the Rolls-Royce of all mobile terminals. So, just cut the crap with this N 9500!

  • Nokia is common so iy is not the Rolls Royce of phones. Once more. Rolls Royce feels expensive while Nokia feels cheap. I think what you meant to say was that Vertu is the Rolls Royce of phones. Nokia is the BMW of mobile phones, everywhere on the road and streets.

  • The design of this GSM handset is the best I have ever seen. No wander NOKIA is the ring name for GSM handsets. I wish I have one already. Thanks. Ezekiel Agir, Nigeria

  • Design is very Ok.Eager to have it as a companion. Please commence sales soon. Thanks. Ezimma Ozobialu

  • I WANT IT...(spoilt child talking)...im getting it

  • This phone is great and Nokia is the Rolls Royce of Phones. I just want to confort this nave who wrote that Nokia phones exploded, these events were due to fake batteries baugth very cheep by Nokia phone users and these batteries weren't adapted...And when it comes toJap, Chinese, Korean of course they have an outstanding background in electronics but they still have a lot to learn in the user friendly GUI in which Nokia is a reference. Nevertheless, actually I'm using a P800 (excellent phone) and a SX1 (very unstable but should be ok very soon) and I think I won't let down the P800 for the 9500 cause the touch screen is very usefull, it's a petty Nokia didn't add this feature to this great phone. Cheers

  • Nokia Sucks look its another shitty brick by nokia with cheap bits of plastic covers lol How Pathetic Move over Nokia Nearly every other Company Kicks your Ass !!!

  • 11 million rupiahs = approximately 1375 USD

  • y x-presson covers?

  • what range for the price?

  • I want one !!!

  • this phone rules

  • Actually N9500 has good features...but the design must be improved

  • good mobile with good features but would had been more worth if the size was a bit more smaller

  • maybe N9500 have UMTS, 3G?

  • Is this 9500 is more advance than 9210i Communicator.

  • Thanks to Nokia, The Nokia 9210i Communicator was my favourite phone but i did not go for it just because it was without GPRS. But now with Nokia 9500 i think my business problems will solve soon. Eagerly waiting for my business partner Nokia 9500 to come in Kuwait Market. Best Regards. Rizwan

  • Kia is good korean car manufacturer, why no kia?

  • cooool features bad design

  • its kwel tell me how much is it. i wana bye it.

  • I wish i had one

  • I think phones these days are becoming more extraordinary. These days the majority of phones are Weve seen nokia.. i wanna know about the prices i'm expect the price is fucking surprise me... I would like to buy one of this for me en for my pleasure to get fun with this extraordinary things i don't have any patient to wait en be my super phone.. that's all folk,,,,,,,,,,.....

  • its a brilliant mobile i like the way it is but it would be much appreciateable if your size would have been smaller

  • is this phone the substitute of Nokia 9210 communicator? Also, when will a 6310 substitute appear? (I know, 6650 IS, but its bullshit phone)

  • As Nokia is a professional and this Communicator phone is better in the world!. ;) Good Nokia, better this -and next year!. Motorola,Sony Ericsson,Samsung,... are LOSERS!.

  • This phone is the best, but it would have been even better if they had included flash and a 256K colour in it. But generally, the phone is quite good! I'll buy it or i may buy the motorola v1000. Im confused between the both, which one is better, help, i need to get a picture of my super dick.

  • Simply the best phone(laptop I would say) that has ever come out.Nice done nokia.Once more you let nobody down.

  • 9500 wont be available untill 4th quarter of 2004...the approximate price is listed at EU 800

  • How about the Price? Can you inform me, immediatly!

  • 6 hours of talk time is very long, and by far longer than most phone. 3310 has only a rated 4.5 hours of talk time... know you facts before you make a stupid comment

  • Alcatel is being sold. Not a big surprise. Why they did not offer Alcatel to SE? Let the three of them try to beat Nokia. Maybe this time they do better.

  • The talk time is dam low... what the hell are u going to do with 6hrs of talk time.. I'd rather go for a 3310

  • MOTO A768- sure go for it! then watch us get all the free software applications available in the net by the hundreds, and you keep on searching for your Linux applications, if you are lucky you'll get 1 or 2...

  • Soon by SE,Nokia killers make your hart heat Nokia lovers, you time is over.

  • super!super!super!

  • Go for Motorola A768 instead of this brick!

  • When is the 9500 available and what is the price/how do i buy one on the net

  • Hey , now Sony Ericsoon iz cuming to nokiaz level , but nokia ppl , make ur pace fast da sonyss r here eee ... & even p900 has 65k colours ... not only 9500 --->>> Capirconboy

  • As Nokia is a professional , but this phone ... is really good ... it has the complete .. awesome contents .. i hope the next will be more than that

  • go to this thread from hofo, and see for yourself how STUPID is the xda2.... then read the last thread, and see that nobody among the xda2 lover was able to answer back the argument thrown, because xda2 is crap! and what a price they pay for a crappy shity pda-phone

  • Boyz and girlz, just get the superb Chea 168 and get over it! Symbian? 168 got it. Don't be cheap and, once in you're life time, go on an buy a real phone, not just toyz!!!

  • I think the time of symbian OS is dying and microsoft is about to run the smartphone trend.Man those people at microsoft sure are greedy.

  • what r u talking about ppl..... comparing hopes and papers.... compare real phones to each others ...not 7700 or 9500 or t650 or P1000 .... what the fuck is P1000 anyway ...where did u hear about it??? p800 is good u say ???? it is a damned phone.... i couldnt see anything on the screen when i am outdoor.... what do u want more...?? SE has the worst camers ever.... compare phones in the same class u fools .... why do u compare 6600 with p900 ??? both are different..... 6600 is a smartphone ... p900 is a PDA+phone.... got it ? u want to compare p900 with something ... go a head compare it with PDA+phones models.... like the microsoft XDA2 (i-mate) right??? and after u finish comparing.... tell me... what the hell made u choose p900 ???? it is the worst PDA phone with touch screen ( it took the title from p800) ... and lets talk about the ediot t610.... what phone doesnt have the no. and dates for phone calls ??? how can it be so slow ??? can the camera be much worse???? now compare it with the 6220..... t610 wins becuz the screen resolution... so what u fools ??? the camera is shit .. u wont need a 65,000 colors anyway with this camera.... otherwise the 6220 is 5mbs video cam and everything else is better exept the bluetooth for me i say.... f**k nokia and SE.... look at the japanes and korean.... they r comming.... take a look at the samsung and the i505 MS or d700 symbian... look at the panasonic x700.... look at the sendo and what r we expecting from it... the unbelievable sendo-x with internal memory 64mb and 4xzoom with flash and red eye and look at the real king... the xda2.... with all microsoft somftware and the best camera after sharp let me hear u say it..... F**K NOKIA AND SE

  • Uhm, sorry, gsmarena wont let me post it without putting a space in 6600. so remove the space in 6 600 in the URL, for it to work.

  • Whoopsie, typo in URL.

  • There's no point in arguing. Look at my phones : You can *CLEARLY* see that the 6600 is better. And.. don't argue with me. everybody knows TFD is better than TFT or STN. STN is trash.

  • BOOM......................i think that both of phone's have good RF,but i wil try. To Devil,The P900 has far better screen than the 6600,the color dept is the same,16 BIT screen but the P900 has more pixels and more colorfull than the 6600.

  • Devil, the T630 has a TFT 16 BIT screen, that means better than TFD and STN.So the T630 has better screen than the Z600.

  • T610 or 630 have terrible screens, and thats known. only z600 is acceptable cuz of tfd. 6600s screen is better than p900. better colors and depth.

  • Klass, P900 has a good RF indeed, but not as good as Nokia's RF... 3650 for example will beat P900 any time any where as far as RF is concerned, why don't you try it yourself...

  • nokia the best!!!!!!

  • Devil, the screens from the T610,Z600 and the T630 is far more supurieur than any Mokia. The T310 is just a low end phone. Also the menu and interface from the T610/T630/Z600 is the best of the rest, that is proven. Also the you compare with newer phone's from Nokia agains the older phone's from SE,uou called the 6230,theire still not out yet in europe. You cannot compare the 7600 with the T610/T630/Z600. And the 6220 is only 5 MB and can videorecord Limit, that has nothing to do with superior about more MB's and recorder. If you look at the screen is 128x128 12 BIT screen and terrible menu and interfce..............that is so pitty from Nokia and you call it better than the Z600/T610/T630,that is not true. The Z600/T610/T630 have far more better screens 32 midi bleutoot build quality than any phone's from Nokia. The speakerphone,i use never that function is useless. You say"The 6230 is the best phone ever, with MMC card slot, camera + video rec, mp3 player, EDGE (NO SE PHONE HAS IT!!!), bluetooth, 65k, and MANY MANY more" That handset is not out yet,the screen from the 6230 is almost the same like other Nokia's models. 128x128 16 BIT screen Pitty, low quality MP3 player Pitty, video recorder is also low quality. And the menu is soooooo boring. The only what new is from the 6230 is EDGE,EDGE have no use in many country's But i'm agree with you about that. That EDGE a new feature is from Nokia but nothing more. Wait until the presentation from SE Devil at 9 Maart, you compare with newer phone's from Nokia and bit older phone's from SE.

  • nokia , keep going you are the best.

  • ahem......you cant say that nokia is the best.....there are many many phone companys out there who make better phones than nokia,so you still can't say that nokia is the best, and by the way 0.3megapixels is not a big deal and the nokia cams suck big time they are NOT full screen like SE or panasonic.

  • In smartphones : No doubt, SE takes the trophy home. I mean regular mobiles. SE has the T310, T610, Z600, T630, as the major "leaders". Nokia now has 7600, 6220, and in 1 month 6230. The T310 is crap. The T610/630/Z600 have no integrated loudspeaker, 2MB memory, shitty screens, shitty cameras, and no video recorders. The 7600 has a 0.3MP camera with video for 2:30 minutes, 29MB memory, mp3 player, WCDMA (which NO SE phone has except for z1010, but its still in factory), integrated loudspeaker and many more. The 6220 has a video recorder and 5MB memory, plus loudspeaker. The 6230 is the best phone ever, with MMC card slot, camera + video rec, mp3 player, EDGE (NO SE PHONE HAS IT!!!), bluetooth, 65k, and MANY MANY more!!! I am not saying SE is shit, but Nokia is always the best...

  • Devil..............superior in what?

  • I dont think the P1000 or whatever it will be called (rumors say P950) will be introduced/released before the 4Q of 2004... i mean, the P900 is still fresh. Klaas, who said i dont already love the P900? I myself have a Sony Ericsson P900, P800, Z600, a Nokia 6600, and a Nokia 7210. i dont 'hate' se... but Nokia is far more superior in most criterias.

  • The phone features are excellant, but still considered heavy and large.

  • cheap phone!!!cheap phone!!!cheap phone!!!

  • it is very nice and better than 9210

  • Jack,the P1000 is a code name,but it's real. At the cebit you can see all new SE phone's at cibit T1XX= t100 + 4K cstn + poly ring tones T330=t310 + larger screen & more colurs(160*128 65K CSTN)+ integrated cam T650 = t610 + tft screen(ALSO LARGER)maybe 176*137 + loud specker + more memory + 1.2mp cam with video playback & recording se smart phone (T700????) =t650+176*220+MSD se smart phone (T800????) =T700 defrent disgen+262k plz note T700+T800 are not the real names at gitix p1000= p900+wifi+1.2mb cam+100m BT +better & larger diplay+larger memory z300=T330 color sub lcd z650=t650 color sub lcd Good luck.................

  • New Nokia 9500 Communicator IS now better in the worlds!. Very good,Nokia!. ;)

  • hey Klaas, there isn't anything call the SE P1000. Did u made the phone yourself?

  • Boom mine P900 has exelent RF and battery life. The T68i and the T610 has not as good reception, that is true. But not al SE phone's have this problems. Look at the T105,T230,T310,T630,Z200,Z600,P800 and the P900 those phone's has exelent RF signaal, battery life and easy menu and interface than any Nokia.

  • Devil wait until the presentation from SE :D You will love it,i know that :D

  • i do not follow pads, but then again there is nothing wrong with people who follows pads- people have taste and pad is all about taste... if SE, MOTO, and the rest can only 1st deal with 3 things that Nokia has got it going then they wont receive all the crap: 1. good RF 2. easy to use 3. good battery life

  • Well, good for you. go buy a fucking PDA if you like SOO much to use a touchscreen. its the most ridiculous concept in smartphones. smartphones dont have to be PDAs, look at the 9500. it will soon make SE broke. haha. goodbye mr. SE, poor Sony which i love, who merged with such a degrading company. viva nokia, creaters of the mobile phone!

  • Hey All, Listen all this is very good in perfomace and all other things but they did a mistake of put the os as symbain os ..Well I-mate pocket still whops it as it has Mobile(r) Windows(r) ..

  • To Dr_T610....................yes you are richt about that "Hey do you guys seriously think that SE will just let nokia take the cake with this phone, they are bound to counteract the 9500 with something.never ever underestimate SE......NEVER" Just people's underestermate SE,wait until the T800,T700,T650 or the P1000,this will sure true Nokia killers.

  • Boom,i think you follow the pad like people's "Nokia number 1,so i will buy a Nokia" do I have to say more to ??

  • I wish i could send that devil back to to hell......oh wait he does not even deserve that nickname

  • One more thing if you guys have not noticed is that the P900 is still rated the top phone in magazines and other commercial stuff not the 6600.The 6600 is nothing but a hard boiled egg wanting to be a smart phone.

  • Hey do you guys seriously think that SE will just let nokia take the cake with this phone, they are bound to counteract the 9500 with something.never ever underestimate SE......NEVER

  • a company that is not selling well and yet you want to believe it is still the best??? Look at the name it carries, it used to be Ericsson only now it is Sony-Ericsson, do I have to say more...

  • SE doesn't have a matching phone for the 9500, with a full qwerty keyboard. I like Nokia and SE alike. In basic phones, Nokia rules. In smartphones, SE takes a BIT more advantage. But when the 7700 and 9500 will be released, SE will be suffering.. BAD.

  • To BOOM. SE is on the top 5. A company that sold more phone's doesn't mean better company,Nokia sells more becouse the 6600 is cheaper and use low quality materials for the custumers. The P900 is far better device and use more quality materials and a bit expensiv than the 6600. And Nokia sell phone's to blind people's,

  • This is the latest model that NOKIA has made this year and this tells us that NOKIA is not improving. NOKIA is still in 65K colors while ALCATEL has invented 256K colors. NOKIA is not so good now.

  • I must sure disagry, Chea A90 is far better than 169, but you are right: Chea kiks all Nokia's treminals!

  • 2 out 5 cellphones in the world is from Nokia, there are more than 2 million 6600 sold, and it is now the best selling smartphone, 3310 is the most sold phone ever...SE is not even in the top 5 anymore... overtaken by the koreans... let the figure speak for them selves

  • agg laga do SE ko. tum sub ki maa ko lun. kya baat hai nokia ki.

  • Hey, I heard a lot of commotion; this 9500 thing hasn't out yet. Come on guys. Anyway with this thing out; we all the customers who will get all the advantages (Lower Prices, higher competition). As for me I'm using SE t310, but prefer the p900 better than n9500; especially for the size, model, battery life, etc. Rather than N9500, better get a real laptop & P900 :)

  • I'm not agains Nokia, but if Devil say that Nokia beat SE in terms of quality.Than i get the fact's. And the P1000 is SE newest smartphone's.

  • I'd like to know more about this phone. ANd I also want to know if its the same thing like the 9290. Thanks.

  • Klaas, wtf is p1000??? I never heard something like this. obviouly u are bias against nokia. u only says it beats nokia, u did't state which of the functions SE is better in. I'm not a fan of nokia nor SE, buy pls don't compare phones this way.

  • Devil, According to you Nokia sources are bad too - they don't mention WiFi. Relax, the feature you are talking about is listed as Wireless Lan or WLAN.

  • Devil dream on. Look at the T68i beat all Nokia's phone's,take a sample the T610 beat the all Nokia phone's to,look at the T230 or T310 the beat all Nokia's low class phone's and the P800 beat the 7650 and 3650 and the P900 beat the 6600 and the 3660 and the P1000 beat the 9500 soon. SE is always a step hicher than Nokia in terms of design, technolechy and quality handset and Nokia is always the most seller than SE,becouse Nokia have it's name and the most poeple's buy a Nokia without concidering about another brand like SE

  • By the way, the 6600 is not the same class as the P900, too. 6600 is a toy compared to P900, i must admit. but i am only comparing NOKIA-SE. overall, Nokia beats SE. not in smartphones, but everything else... ;)

  • Khaled.................who do you mean" but NOKIA has been always ahead ... no one could beat the sales of the 6600" That is the reason that Nokia make people's blind. To sell more phone's say nothing about"NOKIA has been always ahead" Becouse the P900 is alot exspensiv than the 6600,but the P900 beat the 6600 in all options. The P900 is still availble, not the 9500

  • You who wanted a phone with touch screen: Series 80 phones don't have touch screen but Series 90 has. Just wait for CeBIT. I'm quite sure that we will see a new S90 phone. ;) P.S. According to Nokia's press release, 9500 is just the first one of the upcoming Communicator models...

  • Just a update from the 9210i hahahahhaa The future from Nokia hahahaahahahaha Wait until SE at the cebit present................say goodday to Nokia hahahahaha

  • Man!!, These Nokia people know how to hit the competition real hard. An amazing phone if you ask me.

  • no quad band??? no umts??? no 262,000 colours???? no tft screen???? no vibrator ??? no availablity till 2005??? NO-KIA in our language means "NOTHING DOING" lol !!!

  • My GOd! it has Finaly Arrived! D only phone 4 me! D all NEw Communicator! Thanks NOKIA! Thanks guys!:) hope its stable! but im sure its guud!!!!:)

  • The little cute Chea 168 is far better in every, any way posible! Chea forever! Ciao!!!

  • I wonder when is sonyericsson going to make their move??so bloody curious......motorola seems to be prepared with their new phones for this year.

  • WOW, nokia, if your going to make a computer, you could atlest make it 256k colour ALCATEL RULES!!!!!!!, NOKIA SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sorry for the misstake about touch screen.. but NOKIA has been always ahead ... no one could beat the sales of the 6600 .. wherever u go .. there is at least 10 carrying it .. P900 is still an amaizing phone no words to be said about that ... but its diffrent class than the nokia 9500 .. this nokia is almost a mini labtob .. and its not comparable to the P900 .. So both of them are best in thier class .. and as one said .. the 9500 still not out .. u never know how good will it be .. maybe even better than we all think

  • Everyone is pumping as much feature as possible without a good firmware...sigh...

  • Nokia 9500 in car terms: BMW 760il (top of the range) Sony Ericsson P900 in luxury car terms: The new flagship Jaguar V12 saloon Nokia 6600 = BMW Six Series

  • to se man.... and to everyone here.... dont u think u should respect what other ppl think ???? u think p900 rules .... will i think it really sucks if u compare it with the i-mate for example.... both r the same class.... touch screen same size and wieght ,,,, but look at the i-mate and to the p900 and then u will just shit on the p900 and tell ur self u r the most stupid person on earth to have this trash.... thats how it works..... what we have here is communicator 9500 and it is not out yet..... when it is out i think ppl should say what they think.... now they only say what they expect and what they think about the " idea " of 9500 ... no one used it to say it is better or worse than the p900 ..... right ?? but like i told u .... u say p900 is the best mobile ever now ???? BULLLLL SHIIIIIITTTTT ... DONT COMPARE IT WITH SOMETHING STILL NOT OUT AND DONT COMPARE IT WITH A LOWER CLASS PHONES LIKE 6600..... COMPARE IT WITH A PHONE IN THE SAME CLASS.... LIKE I-MATE (xd2) AND LET ME HEAR WHAT U ALL SE FREAKS THINKS ...OK !!!!

  • To Khaled.......What do you mean"once again .. nokia steps ahead" I don't think so,the P900 is still to buy and the 9500 come in November 2004 at the market,so where is"once again .. nokia steps ahead"???????? When Nokia release the 9500,than will the P1000 defeat the big ugly 9500. Greetings

  • its NOT TOUCH SCREEN, a vilage phone ! like a cheaper phone, no specialist phone!

  • Amaizing phone .. got evrything u ever think off .. u can even connect to ur wireless router at home .. size is reasanable .. other wise we would need a tooth pick for the key board... once again .. nokia steps ahead .. and by the way .. P900 still amaizing phone ... and the best of its class

  • it dont say if there is any built in games is there?

  • this is a communicator not an ordinary phone so that the size and weight is reasonable big and heavy respectively , you can't compare it with P900...

  • its jus too big and bulky compared to the p900,which is light and kinda small and i luv the touchscreen

  • I guess this is Nokia's last resort...to gain back all of their customers who loat faith in them.2004 is gonna be an interesting year.but i think i will just watch with my MIO8380.

  • Finally Nokia launched their Nine series, but i think it is more interesting N6600, Siemens SX1, or P900. It is more complete than N9500. But it's okey, i am the biggest fans of Nokia, and i am waiting for nine series, anyway how much does the cost for that one thing?

  • I want it free, as it is the best.

  • This phone will be available only in the 4th quarter so untill then there will be for sure a replacement for p900

  • One thing is sure,it is no P900 killer, you know why. The P900 is allot smaller and lichter and the features from the P900 still on the top,the Nokia 9500 is very big and heavy than the P900. That thing come this year October 2004 at market mabey later,so where is the P900 killer???? Wait until SE have a answer for this peace of shit

  • Looks great great great. No one other compete 9500 nokia. What will be the price n when it will come.

  • it's great .... but unfortunately if came to my country the pricing is so high thanks

  • Features rule but design SUCKS!

  • ur fon is very good went it well be sell in malaysia i really want to buy it soon.

  • finaly what I wanted. I will not buy p900 anymore Thank Nokia it was about time to meke a new communicator
