E6 have jus signed in! :) Who is depending on Internet services, can forget about Nokia E6! The only way you can do a little browsing with E6 is Opera Mini and it will transfer you in time, in the late 90's. Or worse. :) For it's time, this phone was absolutely rubbish, born dead, the native browser was horror movie and now is a classic horror movie. Now, for some people, Nokia E6 is a detox phone and that's all. And, for others, is a classic which, for me, is a little bit of a highlander. I am now using this phone for more than 7 years. I don't want to breake records or something, its just the only little phone with a quality qwerty hardware keyboard with a little bit of everything. As I said before, for now, until I will go with the "satanic" touchscreen thing, I am stuck with it. As my batteryies will go on and on and on, I will keep using this little phone on and on and on. 3 more years, 5, 7, 10. Who knows?! The real keyboard phone is not dead. Yet. Or, probably, I will try that KeyOne/Two/3 thing. BB Classic I've tried, it's the most annoying thing ever! I don't know if I've told all of you yet, E6 has a 4 weeks standby time (3g 900 or 1800) or 1 full week of you talk 1-3 hours, depending how long are your talk times. I just retired an E6. All I could do with the browser was read gmail and a few other pages as the browser is obsolete. A great phone for it's time.

I haven't used YouTube for the last 2 years, but last time I used Opera, Opera Mini or CuteTube. It's hard work to play YouTube videos on E6, not because of the screen, but because of the operation system. It's rubbish, it's old, it's obsolete.

Now i'm trying to use it and one of the things it can't do is to play videos on Youtube. Are there any settings i should follow? If it's easy for you i'd appreciate your assistance really. Dear JVR-Belgium, I salute you from Romania and I am glad that you've enjoyed my "articles". My all 4 E6 have the same OS version, the Belle one (very good that you've pointed that out, yes, Belle was in fact for N8/E7/C7 and later for 701/603 if I am not mistaken. Personay I've never tried the Anna version, but for my and my use pattern the Belle is ok. I use my E6 for all kind of things (including TV-out functionality) but not for email, I never used email with E6, I am afraid I can't help you with that one, I am very sorry. Keep searching on the internet or try and ask the guru of the old Nokia's and Symbian - Steve Litchfield, he must know something. I have news in my keyboard phones journal. :) In December, some 10 months ago, I have bought a brand new Blackberry Classic (was a burgin of 100 euros without warranty but new, not refurbished), the only Blackberry that I really wanted to test it out. Well, because (and only because) was a gift from my beautiful wife I used it for 2 months, otherwise a maximum one week was enough for me. Long story short, after 3 days on the learning curve with my new Classic, I began to use the Classic and in the 4th day I took it out as my daily driver. Big problem, huge problem for me: this phone is shutting down if you press more than 3 seconds on the power key or the end key even if you set a password on the phone! So stupid, at least once a day my phone was sitting in my pocket turned off or sometime even in my hand. That was a so much no-no for me! Also, that stupid "function" called "Bed time", with a slide up (or down) in the screenlock (again, even with the password lock on) and the phone turns in some airplane mode, and turns off the network. OMG, what a stupid place to put that function! Comparing BB Classic with E6, the Classic is a bit of a dinosaur, the grip with his mate backcover finish was not so good and the weight is not well distributed, is too heavy at the top because the keyboard is so much at the bottom. Other bad things of the BB was that this pure business phone does NOT have a CTRL key. No ctrl+a, no ctrl+c, no ctrl+x and no ctrl+v. The phone has that in the software, but not on a keyboard. . For me, the keyboard of the Classic was good (its also very very different from the E6's keyboard), but for me it needed time to get used to it. Also the trackpad is not ergonomic at all, the D-pad is still the dady. For me, the Classic keyboard was no way so good as almost everybody said in their review. Now the positive things of the Classic compared to the E6. The Classic is very powerful, the screen is great, the BB OS is not bad at all, some of the customisations are amazing but some things are just stupid, I don't remember now but despite the profile functions are amazing, was some thing in there that was a workaround of a workaround. I spent so much time on the Crackberry forum to get it done in my style. So, after two months I sold the phone and my huge curiosity was fully satisfied. After I've got my E6 as my daily driver it was such a relief! The turning off stupidity of the BlackBerry Classic gave me anxiety for almost 2 months! Ghhhh! Well, after the frustration with the Classic, after some 2 months, I encountered a situation that I got a BB Bold 7790 in great condition, almost free, with some 25 euros and just for fun I took it. Well, let me tell you, for me, despite is old and it has a cramped keyboard, is much better than the Classic. Is a BB purebred. And, of course, as you thought, is not even close with the E6! The E6 is still the best phone for me! In the future, probably after some 2 more years (when the price will become really low) I will try the KeyOne, Two or whatever. Dear E6user, loved you lovely loveletter to the E6 here on GSMarena. Got 2 E6's myself, but failing to get them back in order - problem with email connection since I upgraded to latest Nokia Belle. If you have any suggestions or feedback, I would be very gratefull. If you live anywhere in the neighbourhood of Belgium, I will even pass by to allow you to check, that's how 'in love' I am with the E6. And, if you ever need to change phones, try BB Classic or BB Key1. Better than other phones, but still under par vs E6...

Nokia E6 is still the phone to beat in my opinion, if you care about battery life, not having a big screen, and don't mind having virtually no access to modern 'apps'. Email is no hassle, syncronisation is flawless once set up well, the phone will work for days in a row and is extremely reliable compared to modern phones. Call quality is a bliss, most modern apps do run well if you stick to their website version, music quality near-to perfect. It still fits in your pocket, has a replaceable battery when needed (about every five years…), no fiddling with screens required (that's where a D-pad comes in handy), and can still be used with 1 hand. Built-quality on par with the old Nokia school - seemingly undestructable. Not for people who thrive and thrill on the latest tech, though. And sadly, no more support from Nokia. Too bad, as many of these little devils get bricked when updating to the latest release of Nokia Symbian Belle (which was written for Nokia N8, not E6 !). Stick to Nokia Symbian Anna and you will continue to enjoy the old-fashioned but remarkably modern-capable, sturdy, reliable and undestructible phone for years. A shame they don't produce them any more.

E6user is back with another post, after a mix-up summer phones. Well, back in June, my daily E6 started to freeze once a week (especially in camera app) and it was quite frustrating... Hm, I thought, save all data, hard reset and restore. But the problem was still there. After that, I tried another E6 (don't forget that I have 4 of them) but the problem was still there... After some extra frustrations, and 2-3 more hard reset I found the bug and it was in the backup settings, because every time I was restoring the phone, the problem was still there. So I setup the phone manually and all went well and the freeze problem gone away. But now let me tell you the story... before getting rid of the freeze problem, I tried a Android phone as a daily phone and that was not good either, the keyboard screen is a nightmare for me, the corrections function was also bad, not to mention editing text... A touch screen phone I think is great if you are in the bed, but when you are outside and you are moving around, no-no-no, not for me! This Android was with a 5.2 inch screen. After that, I tried another Android, a 6 inch one, but the problem was still there, I could not feel at least 10% comfortable when I am writing something that I am with my E6. Hm, I thought, what should I do, because, let's remember, the E6 freeze problem was still there, I couldn't figure it out yet... So, I took out my older love in the qwerty world, the Nokia E71. Well, no, cramped keys, the phone was slippery in the hand, the shortcuts was bad,and the search function has a huge lag. But the looks of the phone was amazing, I used it for 3 weeks and this E71 is quite a looker, it turns heads! After that, I decided to put my E71 in his box and I tried another qwerty love, the Nokia E5, wich was much better that E71 but significantly worse than my E6. Now, I was pretty stuck, touchscreen phones are good only for consuming media and internet browsing, but for me, for productivity, nope, not at all. Also, E71 and E5 was better than touchscreen phones but not as good as my E6.... Hm, I thought, I have one more try in the Nokia candybar qwerty phone's world: the Nokia E72, but this guy is missing from my little collection, and I was pretty sure (as I remember, because I had it at some point in my life) that also this E72 was, somehow, a mixup between E71 and E5 and it won't do it for me either so is not worth for me buying it today despite is worth a penny... Here, in my country, a good second hand one is 40-50 Euros. Someday I will buy one, tough... So, after some 6 weeks of summer trying in total 4 phones (2 qwerty Nokia's and two Android phones), I stayed one entire night to figure out how to fix up my E6's software problem. And I did! And now, as I am back with my E6, wow, is a huge relief for me, because clearly this is my best phone for me today! And for the GPS functions, I use now a Android phone with "Here WeGo" app (and with no Sim card in it), wich I keep it in my backpack when I need turn by turn navigation. At the and, don't forget, E6 is NOT for Facebook, WhatsApp, or other stuff like that. E6 is a notebook with call functionality, a very limited internet access, a brilliant keyboard, a dash cam, etc - all in a really small size device. I am "stuck" with it, but I love it! Hello E6 - user, You said in this forum that you have maps for Europe. I'm trying to find some, but they will either not working or my Nokia, or will show that the file is corrupted. Even Steve's maps sims to have some problems on my devices, so my only hope is you! Do you mind to share some of the maps for Europe either here or via e-mail or you name it! Thanks!

Nokia was disrespectful and did not keep promise to offer support for symbian until some 2012 as it announced initially! After this company was bought by Microsoft, all the services started to close one by one on a symbian phone even the email configuration won`t work anymore to connect its server! And now they started again to make phones only to use its name via a Chinese company... Beware and never trust this company anymore!

Bad news, unfortunately... It looks like maps for offline GPS navigation are no longer available for download. In fact, I expected that this moment will come much sunner, but I quess Nokia (not Microsoft) was respectful enough to keep the servers running until this month. But now, finally, they pulled the plug. Luckily for me is not a very big issue since my all E6's have my maps in them, plus I have a memory card with full Europe, so I can use them with no worries at least 3 more years. :D, maybe 5 years, who knows... :P But, if there is a E6 lover (like me) out there who wants to backup he's maps, there is a workaround... Becuse I am not a whatsapp user I can't tell you for 100%, but I am pretty sure that E6 does NOT support whatsapp. It's obsolete, it's a Symbian and it's from 2011. Also, E6 was born dead. :) But my E6 works for me like a charm. :)

thank you guys for the answers (for flickering). i think it is related to the overlays (that means, it is related to the Open... programming layer), with Belle Refresh and with automatic brightness control. This is indeed with 100% brightness. I initially thought that maybe some electrolytes are going bad but in this case the problem would not be related to transparent grey overlays (like in the Messaging app in the right side). Anyways, I really enjoy having this phone for calls, SMS and e-mails. It is possible to use Facebook but without Facebook account it is easier to live ;)

I'm happy with 50% brightness, so I'll keep it at this level and it saves battery, this flickering thing is not a problem to me at all, and it is not good for the eyes if it is at 100%, so better not to use it at this level. Don't worry about you English language, I'm not British too! :))

If you want to see if your screens have this flickering thing, use brightness control with Belle Extra Buttons and set it on max... But is really not a problem, because it can be seen very hard and only indoors, and if you have maximum brightness indoors, it can hurt your eyes. Speaking of eyes, I think your brightness settings are too low. Or maybe is just me... But, don't forget that you have a very small screen, with big resolution. Personally, I use my phones with level 4 of 5 in brightness all the time, font size is on normal and I use a default dark theme. If I'm in a very dark room, I use brightness control with Extra Buttons app or I use a app called "Brightness", if I want more lower brightness... About the screen, sometimes I want to never turn off the screen (for example when I connect my E6 with my tv + keyboard), so I use a app called "AlwaysOn". Also, this app turns off my phone lock code. So, when I'm at my home and I use my phone alot, I use this app to open my phone quickly and I lock the screen with a simple swipe with the help of brilliant brilliant Belle Extra Buttons app. PS. Sorry for my poor english.

As far as I can see my 2 phones (one ''Anna'' and one ''Belle'') have no such a flicker problem, but I never keep the brightness to 100%, usually 50%.

Yes, I think it's a common problem and it's only when the brightness is at 90-100%. Also, I can see it only indoors in front of a big light, or if I turn the screen at full brightness manually, but it's hard to see it. Personally it doesn't bother me at all because this scenario it's extremely rare indoors.

does anyone have a slight flicker when full brightness. For example, with standard theme, in the standard messaging app, the gray areas are slightly flickering (barely, but still). For example, in Opera when you open menus, the gray areas may flicker a bit. I have two E6-00's (original are both), both are having this behaviour. The flickering is just slight, but still, I would like to know if this is common. I have Belle Refresh installed on both devices. BTW - if you are looking for grey E6-00 with scandinavian keyboard then I can sell.

Thanks for the app (had to change the date and remove the SIM to install it), but it works just fine on both phones! :)) Thanks for the battery advise, my batteries usually last long, so I don't have to charge them often - once eventually twice a week!

Hello E6user, Initially i tried to install it without changing the date, but it didn't work, so I had to do it the other way, may be I was lucky! :) I know about the 'slider - torch function', but I really don't like it! They should have use simple button to turn ON and OFF the phone and for the torch - app or extra button, like all new GSM's have! Where do I find this torch app?

You are welcome!, and I thank you myself for your appreciation! Now, As far as I know, all apps are compatible between Anna and Belle. Good to have Extra Buttons, congratulations - is a must-have app for E6! Very intresting the steps you took to install it, but I think you was lucky, I tried myself to install it with your method a minute ago with one of my E6's, but it didn't worked... Anyway, about the torch, personally I use a little app called "BelleTorch". Open it, then press the select button - that's the fatest way to use this app. About the slider, I guess you knew that you can activate the torch even when the phone is locked. ;)

Hello E6user, Thank you very much for all the help you have provided me!!! I've downloaded the the extra buttons app and it works just fine on my ''Belle''. It was simple installation: changed the date>phone OFF>removed SIM> restart> install - job done! :) Then I decided to do one experiment and see if the app will work on my ''Anna'' - same steps and the result is: Same fine working app! :)) I only wish that there was a torch icon, so I wouldn't have to touch the slider at all!

Hello, More info about this app (with screenshots) : It's pretty easy o find it, but a little tricky to install it. For example, go here: Tips to install it: a:) install it now, with today date, probably will not work, then go to plan b; b:) change the date to 2011 or 2012; c:) last solution, that is working pretty sure but is kind of a pain: hard reset your phone without sim card in it (make a full backup first in file manager, including your settings) with *#7370#, set the date 2011 or 2012, install the app, then put your sim card, restore your backup etc. Mind you, that all third-party apps look like 15 years ago, but so is the phone, so no problem here. :) Tell me how it went.

I think the Chinese made a mistake, it is really a very good phone, but maybe that's better for us! About the WiFi, I've done what you said, but the connection was ON for a minute or so and then it went OFF. Three is something to be done with the router and the WiFi connection. When I find time I'll try it.

Hello yvts, I understand, now everything seems all right for me. In fact, E6 was such a big failure in terms of sales for Nokia, that Chinese had no reason to clone this model. About wifi, keep digging, Belle is pretty reliable with wifi, I had no problems. Yes, sometimes the wifi power saving is switching off by itself - wich is really stupid and i I didn't found the cause - but it happens 2-4 times in a year... And my in use E6 has wifi on almost all the time. By the way, if E6 had oleophobic coating it was too good for me. :)

Hello E6user, Thank for the hints, I’ll see what I can do with the WiFi! I didn’t know as well that they have made the phones in Mexico, but that’s what is written on the label. The keyboard is Spanish, it has only Spanish, Portuguese, English, French and Dutch languages. So I guess the phones were made in there for the American market. The phones came with foils on the screen (with silver corner, so I guess original Nokia), the silver phone (Belle) had also foil on the back covering the camera, and on the left, right and central buttons, ‘Anna’ (black model) came with only screen protector. They are single SIM both, but I’m using each of them with one SIM - 3 mobile (Anna), Lycamobie - (Belle). I live in the UK.

You are welcome!! I thank you myself for staying around! I am very glad that my tips and hints are useful and for that reason, amazingly, I will write you some MORE! The same good ones! :D I will increase your standby time with at least 25%!, but after you make some light, because I didn't understand some things... So... First of all, never write something directly on the web page, allways use a notepad on your device, write it there, then copy/paste on the site and your work will be safe. Secondly, if your work is long, always save it once in 15 minutes. Now, I'm a little bit confused: I didn't know before now that E6 was made also in Mexico. Nothing wrong about that, but the "covered with foil everywhere" is a bit strange for me. As far as I know, as new, Nokia E6 (like all Nokia's back then) has only one foil: on the screen. And this screen protector has in left upper corner a little silver point to grab the foil when you want to take it off. Anyway, since your standby's are that good, your phones must be fine/good/original. Wifi problem: in the silver one, the one with Belle, turn off wifi power saving and see what happens. But be aware that consumes A LOT of power. If not worked, the wifi problem is over me: on my phones wifi works flawless without extra settings, and I don't know much about router settings and stuff, but it seems that you have to search the web - I'm sure you will find some tips - since E6 is a rare Nokia, extend your words search like "Nokia N8 wifi problem", or C7/E7, even C5-00. My biggest question is: "I'm using both phones with 2 SIM cards, only for phone calls and occasionally SMS." Is that means that your phones are dual-sim???

I was trying to write you a review here about my experience with Nokia E6-00 'Anna', but the site didn't posted it for some reason! :(( Probably because it was tooooo long! My both E6-00 are brand new £79.99 each from eBay. The batteries are Li-ion both of them, they last me for about 4-5 days. I'm using both phones with 2 SIM cards, only for phone calls and occasionally SMS. I'm not even connecting them to internet because I can't get the WiFi to work properly*. It turns out that I prefer more my black phone 'Anna' then silver one 'Belle'. Probably because it is much closer to the UI of Nokia C5-00 the last proper Nokia I was using. Check the pics here to see how the menu of 'Anna' looks like. It is slightly different in terms of button placement and some extra buttons and functionality which 'Belle' has, but I like 'Anna' more. *If you have any idea how to fix my WiFi to work properly, could you please post here step by step guidance: menu>settings... Hello E6user, Thank you very much for the huge hint!!! OK, now lets get started: I bought my 2 Nokia's from eBay, brand new, made in Mexico with Spanish keyboard... Both of them came covered with foil everywhere and I even put some extra (screen protector) on the left and right button + on the bottom where is the mic. I'm using silicon covers on both of them and they seems to do a good job. I'm using them both with 2 SIM cards (that's why I bought them), however in my case telephone means telephone! I'm making only phone calls, receiving phone calls and occasionally SMS. GPS navigation and connecting to internet from time to time*. That's it! So my batteries are holding the 'juice' for 4-5 days, which is fine, in this case I have to charge them ~ once per week :)) Since I bought them (1 week between them) I'm using more often my black (Anna - bought it first) then silver (Belle) and it looks like that I like, and prefer more Anna then Belle. Maybe it is my own preference but that's me! Because I don't like to have many home screens and widgets I've set it up (Anna) with only one home screen and 4 shortcuts + non removable clock and phone profile icons. On the right bottom end of the screen is the 'menu' button, touch it and you can have access to: calendar, contacts, settings, music, mail, web, messaging, photos, store, maps, office and applications, however this last two are folders which contain the rest of the stock: tools, camera, social, recorder, calculator...When you open one of this two folders in the bottom right corner appears 'back' button (not settings>... I must be doing something wrong, so because of that, I can't download any maps, apps... Thank you very much!

USB-OTG is brilliant! :) Warning! Huston, we have a problem! More great useful information could be found bellow! Warning!, more tips below! :D So... I have tunned my E6's with many apps over the years, for example, I don't like the slider for locking the screen, that's why I use it only for flashlight. Also, use this slider with much care, it tends to brooke easily. It is brooken at one of my E6's... If it ever brooke, install quickly app and asign it to a shortcut button, like calendar for example. Or use MrAlshahawy Belle Extra Buttons app. Also, some E6's (especially the white ones) tends to pill off the paint from the keyboard. I don't know much about this, but avoid the white one. I hope you have a black ones. Speaking of wifi, for browsing you will need Opera Mini because standard browser is simply rubbish. :) Also, check out the cool keyword shortcuts in Opera Mini specially made for E6, like pressing 2 or 8 to scroll the page, and many more. Smart move for buying the second one. :) By the way, before storing a battery, charge it fully, discharge it until first "battery low" warning, then charge it about 30-40%, and store it at room temperature. Do that twice a year and it will be fine. And, of course, use your batteries in rotation. Also, use slow charger (the default one is a pretty fas one)! I am warning you about this things because all you will need for E6 in the future is a BATTERY and you will not find anywere an original new one. If is nowere to be find today, figure it out in the future. Last original ones was made in 2012. So, use slow charger today! Also, never charge your battery at high/low temperatures, don't use your phone when charging, you don't want your battery to warm up when charging. Also, wach out for the the big mith these days that stupidly says to use your battery between 40-80%. Nope, do what Nokia said for 20 years, charge it until the phone says battery full. The phone is simply telling us when to charge our batteries! The OS is smart enough to not let the battery overcharge/overdischarge. The key is to not interrupt the charging process, not overheat the battery and not to use fast chargers! The corporations wants us to buy their phones at least once a year. So, they make the phones with sealed batteries, fast chargers, glass screen and with a very aggressive marketing that brings new phones everyday. And they are anything but new. I think that this days a new phone comes once in (with a bit of luck) 5 years. Not to say once in 10 years, but I already said it. :) I guess most people thinks that when a phone battery is no longer holds its power, that phone must be changed, because is "old", anyway. If the corporations combined together makes one "new model" everyday, of course is "old", logically thinking. I hope I am wrong about that... Now, I have myself a request: as you know, I have 3 E6, all with Belle, and I never tested Anna OS. Tell me please, make me a little review regarding the difference with pros and cons between Anna and Belle. Thank you! :) PS. Nokia E6 comes with Li-Ion or Li-Pol batteries. If you were lucky, yours should be Li-Ion, wich is much better, it holds almost twice the numbers of chargers. If they are Li-Pol, use slow charger from yesterday if you want to use E6 for years! I leave you with the greatest tip regarding the batteries!!: the only way you could purchase a original brand new battery today, is through a Nokia accesory, an external battery. It is called Nokia DC-11K. Inside it is a BP-4L Li-Pol battery. ;) You may not find that useful today, but in the future, you never know. Speaking of accessories, personally I protect may phones with back hard cover CC-3012 and CC-3007. Many drops = zero damage. Thanks for the hint! Most likely I'll not install any apps, I'm only interested in maps and to get the WiFi to work properly (I have problem with this). You are welcome ;) I leave you with a extremely rare hint for those cases when you want to install some applications and when you get (almost always) "certificate expired": 1. Install all of your applications AFTER hard rest (*#7370#) and BEFORE putting your SIM card in the phone. And 2. Set the date 2011 or 2012 or 2013 etc depending the application. In this way you will install applications like Shazam, AlwaysON, Smart Office, Quick Lock, Belle Extra Buttons (wich is a must, because with this app you will be able to close the screen with a swipe or get to a certain app with another swipe) and games like Angry Birds and Mau Mau. In this consumer Era, especially in gadgets world, people buy what they wish, NOT way they NEED. The extremely good and aggressive marketing of the manufacturers works like a charm. But not with me, not any more. And the final big tip: E6 has also TV-Out (with CA-75U) and you can put also (in the same time) a PC keyboard via USB-OTG or a mouse. Hey there and thank you for your thoughts! Big congratulations for going on a such great phone like little E6! Life is much richer and simpler wich such a device. Opera store is a joke that Microsoft has over placed the original app store. About the maps, In all my E6's I have Nokia Belle OS, wich allows me to download maps straight from the phone via wifi. The maps are getting a little old now, because are from 2015 and for sure they won't get any updates. But for ME are still great for the next few years (at least). I guess you have Nokia Anna OS version wich you can't update to Belle OS on PC ore via wifi beause, like Maps, suport for this phone is zero. In fact is not realy zero since you STILL can download maps for it. The workaround is that you have to find a maniac with Nokia and Symbian (wich they still exist out there) that can help you out with Phoneix app for PC and other stuff. Personally i can't help you, but you go and ask Steve Litchfield wich is a maniac with Nokia/Symbian and is a very serious/professional person. He has youtube videos and www.allaboutsymbian.com Or, get another E6 with Belle OS from the start - the problem is solved and you will have another battery and phone for backup. Very strong, Gorilla Glass, great little keyboard with shortcuts pc-like, very pocket friendly, very hand friendly, ALL the function I need (GPS with off-line navigation, Clear Black-display visible in the sun, notepad, TV-Out, 8GB+32GB, off-line dictionary, USB On-the-go, Wi-Fi, Opera Mini, Youtube downloader, extra buttons app, swipe to lock the screen, all data backup, etc etc). For me is almost perfect! Facebook App, What's up App? Who needs that? :) Not me. Android apps? I have a Android Phone... as a tablet in my house, nice toy if you are toying in the bed... But when I am out, E6 is a more a PHONE than a toy. And I don't have just one E6 (see below). :) As I said, I use it from 2012. In 2014 I tried a Nokia Lumia. I've been "tortured" with it for about six months, i gave it a chance then in one night, at 3AM, I gave up and went back to my trusty E6. What a relief I felt next day.... At that time (2014) I realized I will use E6 for many-many ears. So I bought 3 E6 and about 5 original batteries. Hard to find batteries in 2014, impossible to find them now. Wireless charging? Fast charging? USB Type-C, ultra-fast charging? Yes, my E6's got it all! I charge it in 1 (one!) minute! Just swap another battery!! :D By the way: you can use also BL-4D or BP-3L. Even BL-5K. 100% compatible and 100% safe if they are original. Also, use original chargers. A slow one (350mAh, Nokia AC-3E) if you want your Nokia battery to last forever. ;) "They" say an old battery could not work properly, throw it away. Hm... My Nokia batteryes work just fine. :D Like new, actually! RAM? What RAM?!, it's a Symbian! In fact, Nokia E6 is a Nokia E7 with the same functions but in a smaller from-factor, a qwerty candy-bar. In present I make a total backup data between all 3 of them, including settings (so I'm computer-free and if I lose it, I get another spare from the drawer right away lol) - this is the REAL cloud-buckup/drive backup/! :) For anyone, the Nokia E6 is a junk, a Blackberry-Nokia thing, a tiny little something that refuses to die. This is amazaing phone, I love very smooth display with good visibility during sunny days. Hardware keyboard is perfect, I like offline GPS navigation and other features as well. Battery life is perfect, I was able to work for more than two days without any doubts. The screen is bit small for web browsing and the main samera is really poor. This is the biggest issue of this phone. 8 MPIX is useless unless you do not have Auto Focus :( There is no chance to take a sharp photo of some text documents. Viber works very bad and generally offer of applications is very limited.

I do not know why people have issues with this handset freezing. I have had mine for five years and it never freezes...although it does spontaneously reboot from time to time. WhatsApp no longer supports Symbian after they decided to offer end-to-end encryption on calls. It is probably no longer viable to harvest people's information from Symbian users...so if security is a big thing for you then buy a Nokia E6, preferably with Anna.

I've been using this phone from Jan2013 till date. Its quite strong as well. During the past years it was dropped several times but nothing happened. Its a very good touch and type phone with Excellent battery back up to use as a main phone to calls/texts/whatsapp however as people move towards smartphones one can use a phablet for entertainment in their daily commute to work, and in long picnics,trips. Hie guys the black screen problem when receiving or making calls is easy to fix. There are 2 screws you need to tighten on top of the phone, that's the top right and top left corners. If the screws have broken off just apply glue and you are sorted.

hi i used to have the same problem with my E6, its a hardware problem, the sensor is on the top right hand corner of the phone, i used a knife to detroy sensor now my phone is working just fine with no sensor....touching the sensor metal edges while your phone is still on it burns it...thts what i did, risky though i could find a better solution until i did that...worked for me

Its proximity sensor that turns the screen off. It helpful because call may be disconect after touching the screen. But if the sensor turns on without putting your phone near your body it may be software or hardware issue. Sofware issue can be solved by a factory reset. And for haedware, go to your local service provider.

I moved to the BlackBerry Q10 from the E6. The E6 was a great phone, but the browser struggled to load webpages and the OS was no longer supported. I think the Q10 is a great successor. It runs Android apps, but is a new operating system written from the ground up, like Nokia should have done with Meego.

I have had mine for 2 and a half years now, good, solid product by Nokia. Abit slow when browsing the web and downloading, small screen also makes viewing web pages quiet a hassle. Qwerty keypad lovely though, especially when on whatsapp etc, camera picture quality also decent. When playing music from the memory card, it cant automatically play the next song,requires you to exit the song that was playing, and play the next one, which I find very annoying, especially when driving and playing music from the phone at the same time. Overall a good product, very well built, does the basics well enough, the average person shouldn't have a complaint. I am online quiet alot, so the browsing speed and screen size is a problem for me, am getting an Ipad mini to supplement, but if you aren't an internet junkie like me, it should serve your needs fairly well.

I have had this phone over 1 year. And i can say that, this phone is really good. But it lacks of "auto-focus" which provides you to take close pictures. There is a drawback. But you won't have to charge the phone every time, i mean, if you activate battery saving, you can use phone nearly 40 hours. ( you can be sure about this ) And, it has WhatsApp which is perfect to communicate with QWERTY keyboard :) It has a Twitter app named Tweetian (not official) And one more point, i have been trying to change settings about VPN, but i haven't been able to do it. It has some issues. In android or ios phones, you can just download a VPN app, but in symbian, it little disappoints me.

Very good battery, it lasts up to 3 days with heavy use, while the energy saving mode is amazing (the phone never died on me so far). Good wi-fi, stable browsing. Good speakers, good handset. Supports office, pdf, web portal to other devices, superb gps. Cons: Few apps. Very slow start up time. 1/50 days the qwerty freezes and requires restart. 1/100 there is a critical failure in os and requires to take off the battery. Small screen when needed to browse in the internet. Its by no means slow in broswing but its very stable. Overall: Im amazed at how tough this phone is. Fun to type, v. good battery life, it has everything i need on a phone, however the glitches on the OS and the small screen when it comes to browsing are a pain really

I am using a Nokia E6 phone which is really awesome. Based on the performance, it still works absolutely perfect. I havent yet updated it to Belle however it still is working very fast. I have dropped the phone numerous times and phone is yet the same. No issues with memory. Camera was a concern for me however being such a small screen, it supports good camera. The only 1 thing i hate abt it is the resale value. Yet looking forward to get switched to android now but will still keep using the E6 as my love over it is really high.

Firstly I purchased this phone 2 months ago because I thought it would be x10 times better than my previous phone which was a "Nokia E5". However I used my E5 for over a good two years and it was simple yet fun. However using the E6 into the first month, there were quite a few problems. Technically the specifications and design I really love compared to the E5, but overall it's not a phone I enjoy. I'm not trying to discourage customers not to buy this phone, but I'm a long Nokia customer, but this phone just didn't suit me. Maybe the reason is because I've used the "Nokia E5" the previous model, and I'm use to the phone's simplicity. The Nokia E6 is quite complex, but maybe this is my opinion. For users who has used other brands such as Samsung or HTC or Blackberry and switched to using this phone, you may admire it more than me. I will probably sell this phone just before Christmas on Ebay, so buyers be aware on Ebay :) Overall I would give the phone 4/10. Thanks

Yes. It does. And better it can be enabled even in lock mode with the hardware key on the right side. Just slide and hold the Lock key for a few seconds and the light comes up. Let me tell you - the light is really bright. Slide and hold it again and it turns off. It's brilliant!

Iam really happy with it... but after updating to Belle OS. had issues with auto restart and auto switch off. i tried the below options and get it fixed. now iam happy using my phone :) 1. Go to Settings> Application settings > Positioning > uncheck every options (eg. Assisted Gps, Integrated gps... etc) 2. Turn off the F-secure firewall or delete F-secure Application by keep holding on the icon for few sec. Enjoy using ur phone!! :)

Those who are having problem in running google maps.. just switch on your wifi before opening the app. Then run google maps.. it runs successfully, (it is not compulsory to use data from wifi, just keep it on). If you run google maps without opening your wifi, the application will crash

My bus/jeep/tricycle (yes, from the Philippines) seatm8s are looking at the top left of my phone to check the model as obviously they are curious about how I lock the phone, the sensor lock from ndesk app. Superb phone. This phone is amazing. Just one problem that text messages/sms cannot be backed up. When inbox gets full, more incomming messages are not received unless a few messages are deleted first. If it had the option to transfer messages then it would be a great phone.

If you love the E73 camera quality and use your E73's camera a lot then stick to E73 as the E6 has a fixed focus camera which the world knows does poorly at macro shots...eg. taking photos of documents. For the other differences you can use GSMArena's side by side comparison feature to find out. I too have a E73 but before I got the E73 I was contemplating the E6 but after analysing the situation I realised I was better off getting the E73.

Hi, I own a E6 for about 2 years; I've updated it to Belle, use it's map + Farsi navigation, email, PC suite, etc. in Iran. My problem is I cannot use Nokia Store via my mobile (it's OK via PC) and some services (like: Nokia Transport, Nokia Weather, Nokia Music, etc.). Also there is a Belle Refresh firmware released for that, but seems it's not yet available in Iran. Other updates have become available (like some new widgets, new email app). Anyway, I agree to some extent with you that Nokia has limited some of their services to Iranian users (which is not fair because Iranians are their majority users in the Middle-east), but there are still many services that are available for use. Totally I'm really happy with my phone; it really worth it's price!

to me nokia hav never produce a phone like e6 up to date, d only problem i face with d phone is sensor, when you're are makin call or havin an incomin call if u bring it close 2 your ear d screen suppose 2 b blind, bcos is touchscreen. but mine is not. i hav take it to nokia care, they didn't solve the problem. am still in luv with d phone but i hav no choice rather than to dump it for blackberry. if nokia can do somtin about that, like a new version of e6 or give it another name, that will b great.

I have been using my e6 for almost 2 years. It is still rocking. Great phone. Survived numerous drop from the table, splashed coffee on it, roll down the stairs and it is still rocking. Battery life is 2 days on 2G, mainly used for SMS, Whatsapp, read email and less than 2 hours of calling. I can't bear to replace it. Looking for a new leather jacket for it.

I purchased nokia e6-00 on 28.02.2013. But I am very sorry to say that from day one I observed the follwoing problems: 1. the ringtone is very low and when kept in the pocket unable to hear the same. 2. The phone automatically gets hanged 3. Some times to switch off the phone the battery needs to be removed. 4. I stay at Nasik Road and to remove these problems the dealer has asked me to go to college road which is nearly one hour journey one way. In my openion one should ensure the service center before going for nokia because the dealers raise their hands after sale of goods. My phone when brot to the dealer with all the defects on the very next day i.e on 1 March 2013 on complaint of the set the dealer informed me that he would pay only Rs 8000/- for the set costing Rs. 17000/- I am not happy with the set and just pulling all with so many defects. in fact the defects are increasing day by day.

Hi, I am using this E6 since Nov 2012. I am ok with this mobile for bluetooth, wifi, camera, internet. Even standby time and talk time. Photos and videos really very good. I can feel same quallity with handy cam videos. But only one drawback is couldn't use the video chat from any software. Even with skype too. Previously they supported the video. I'll always use wifi while at home but its not working on wifi, when i start browsing thro wifi it goes to EDGE thereby i m loosing money for browsing. some sims are compatible & some r not. if i put my hutch postpaid sim & vodafone prepaid sim the network will not show. if i put BSNL sim it shows good network. in my career i was using nokia phones only. according to my experience browsing web in nokia is worst compared to android phones. recently i bought one karbonn A4 android phone. its simply super phone compared to nokia E6. when i was having nokia E5 also i was facing the same problem.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean by saying if the touch-pad doesn't work -> Then the phone is broken. When Nokia E6 came available here in Finland, Europe in summer 2011 there is Symbian Anna OS on it. E6 is the only Symbian phone on 640x480 resolution (4:3). Symbian Anna was adapted well to E6. There were symbiose on the touch screeen and the qwerty keyboard. When the newer Nokia (Symbian) Belle OS came last year, it was developed mostly to the touch screen phones. There is only E7 and E6 (Symbian) with the hardware keyboard. Some of the applications cannot use only with the touch-pad and keyboard anymore. You have to use touch screen for selecting elements on the screen. A good example on E6 is the revamped Nokia Store. I'm still using my E6 with Symbian Anna just for that reason. The battery last more than 48 hours on my usage. The phone is always on at 3G and at home I use wireless lan for the internet connection on the phone.

That's not a normal condition and looks like your battery is worned out because of something unknown. Even my N8 with 1200 mAh battery last 2 days. Find a way out then, either replace it with a new or bigger battery, or bring the phone to Nokia Care Center for checking and scrutinity.

E6 is the best Qwerty phone from Nokia, running the most mature Symbian Belle FP2 OS, and it's battery life last so long. I went to a store and asked for E6. Above the screen, towards the right side of the earpiece you can find the front camera, light sensor and a proximity sensor. Whenever you make a call the proximity sensor (right most of the three) will get activated i.e. you can observe a red light glows in it. Now, the purpose of it is that whenever you bring the phone close to your ear the sensor detects it and deactivates the screen to avoid unnecessary touch actions while talking as it is a touch sensitive screen. When you bring your phone away your ear you can notice that even during the call the screen is on because you might want to use options like loudspeaker or keypad etc. This feature prevails in all the touch sensitive phones and it is no issue as you see it. If you find the screen off even when you have not kept it near your ear, make sure that you did not cover the proximity sensor with your fingers or any other object. If still you cannot find the screen on then go to your nearest nokia care.

You can buy the phone from ebay (or amazon). There are plenty of unlocked Nokia E6 available in various color. They work fine on your Vodafone 3G or Telecom XT net. The nearest phone you can find available is from Hong Kong. The price for a unlocked (sim free) phone is around USD 200. The phone is rather "old" here in Finland, Europe. I bought mine, an finnish operator's demo phone (unlocked) three weeks ago and it cost only 50 euro (USD 65). The black version is the only they had. It's fine but the screen gets greasy all the time. I'd rather take the white version. They all have a very polished front cover like you can see. To be honest I'd rather take unlocked E7-00 if physical keyboard is a must, because of the amazing 10,16 cm (4") screen. There is one thing to prefer E6. The E6's battery has more power than E7-00 has (1500 mAh vs. 1200 mAh). and you can change a new one by yourself. I have them both E6 and E7-00.

Well, I'm not sure what you mean but, why bother to download any application what you don't need. This mobile is mostly usable for emailing and textmessaging, not for gaming. If you need hundreds of application is better to buy some Android or iPhone. Then you can have those funny fart-h apps. ;)

I have had this mobile two weeks now. I won't update it from Anna to Belle. This mobile is only Nokia's phone with 640*480 pixels on tiny screen size. The Belle's outfit fits better to the bigger screen like Nokia C6-01, N8, C7 and E7. What I like on this mobile is minimal battery consumption causing the screen size and the real keyboard.

Absolutely love the E6. Best phone I've ever had, and I've bought alot! loaded with apps, very easy to use, and sooo pretty. The only phone I would consider other than the E6 is the Blackberry Porsche - but for the money the E6 is great. I dislike the usual smartphone, and with the E6 I love the qwerty keyboard and touch screen advantage. I will go crazy if I cannot get another E6 type phone when needed.

E6 I am using since last 20 mnths, frankly speaking I feel my money, which I have spent for it, I personally feel Symbian ANNA is better than belle, in a home screen i could add 3 mails but in belle a home screen can attach a mail box, however the hone is oceam, camrea,sound quality is toooo good, but it hasnt long battery life. Some hanging problem is there. Any how this is the best phn in nokia I have ever use since 1995.

E6 is definately the best Qwerty Keyboard Phone from Nokia. After that: E73, E72, E71, E7, C3 and some Asha phones.

That's actually a very standard thing in touch screen phones. What happens is when u put ur phone to ur ear, ur cheeks should not touch the screen and do something weird. This way, it might happen that ur call gets cancelled. The whole idea is to de-activate touch screen when u don't want to use it.

Change the mode to power saving mode. If you use in normal mode then charge would be for the day. Try to use power saving mode. Your battery life would be long listing :)

This is due to the motion sensor - the little sensor on the top right corner next to the front camera. If your finger is in front of the sensor screen goes off. I assume Nokia wanted to save battery life by switching off screen when the phone is in your ear but the sensor cannot differentiate between other objects (like finger) Personally I did not find a way to deactivate this semi-clever, semi-stupid feature

It is a very nice phone, I was always a Nokia fan. I used a S3 Mini for a while but prefer the E6. Battery life is unfortunately not great, I have to recharge every night. The Belle OS is very nice and easy to use. Ring / Alert tones are too soft. Lacks NFC. Camera quality is average. A bit pricy for what you get if compared to S3 mini but if you prefer Nokia this is still a very nice phone, best Nokia phone I ever had.

If you want avoid muting the microphone you have to move it to the ear slowly... some practice needed :) As you see it's a big list of issues and they clearly suggest avoiding this phone and go for something else... Camera has no auto focus - not possible to make close up pictures and it's a big disappointment, because I almost daily need to make sticker photos and they are not readable... :( Body build quality is excellent and feels nice in the hand. Often contact search stop working, often difficult or not possible to answer the call (strange - because it's mechanical button...)- practically daily I have to reboot it - very annoying! In the cold touch screen to not respond. PDF do not zoom - unreadable. For internet use screen is far too small. Navigation is good, but I miss tracking - solved problem by installing free 'Sports Track' from OVI store. Overall more disappointing than positive things... I would rate 3 out of 10. Nokia - if you will not improve you will lose me as a loyal customer... sorry! Most likely it's my last Nokia... :(

I have been using the set for 1 year now 01.The battery is good and its advisable to power off 3G and wifi and Bluetooth when not using to get best power management 02.Skype audio call possible BUT NOT VIDEO call even though front camera is there for video calling.I guess this is due to skype software itself which has not allowed video calling 03. The processor is slow (it would been much better if nokia used at least 1 GHz processor 04. The camera even though says 8 Mp but when u take pictures for text etc its bad....so in short if u think that u can take picture of some visiting card etc and u can read it then forget (even with flash off etc) 05.Phone software update to latest must to get proper performance 06.Browser is not as satisfactory as needed 07. It would have been much better if the screen size would have been from 3 to 3.5 inches 08.Touch screen is good but screen size should have been larger than this 09.While talking your ear might tough the MUTE button and your mike is muted and then u have to unmute it else other person wont hear you and u will think that phone is bad etc....this I faced and later realised that nokia should have avoided this mute and unmute of mike through soft touch (should have used some physical press key etc) 10.Nokia should release the same same E6 series set with (a) at least dual core or quad core processor of at least 1 GHz (b)should make primary camera to 13 Mp and front camera at least 2 MP (c)Should use battery of at least 2000 mAH (d)QWERT keypad shoud be redesigned and with more spaces (e) screen size for touch should be 3 inches to 3.8 inches (f)The phone should be released with symbian and windows versions both (g)Support for LTE Must (If LTE support then battery must be at least 2200 mAH (h)The mute and unmute of mike while conversation is ON should be redesigned so that by mistake ear should not touch and mute it (i)HDMI port must (j)The back cover should be like Nokia E71 /scratch proof titatnium etc The set will rock after these things introduced

I love this phone expect the problem I keep coming across is the phone not sending my messages. They go to the outbox and say that they will resend every 3 minutes and in some cases, the people I'm texting received the same message about 5 or 6 times. Has anyone else come across this issue? Have had it for about a year now, best phone I ever owned hands down. If it got lost today, i'd be at the store tomorrow and get another. Super clear screen with responsive touch, superb battery life no-nonsense biz phone. Forget the hype that is fully touch, Android powered smartphones that are battery draining. If you really dont require a huge touchscreen or apps, then this is definitely a good buy. Superb camera pics, although photography of texts (books, newspapers, documents) is a no-no due to lack of auto-focus

I own E6 just about a week and so far I love this phone so much. The qwerty is so comfortable and the music player is so great and of course the capability to receive and send e-mail is awesome too. Somehow, I rather disappointed with the camera. I know it is fixed focus but at least Nokia can give more customable options in it since everytime I made new settings for the camera, all of them will be reset into the default ones. This is very annoying for me. I wonder whether is there a way to save a new customized setting for the camera or not?

Hi, You need to hard reset(format) your phone. 1- backup all your data. 2- turn off your mobile. power on the E6 while holding down the Shift, Space and Backspace keys(keep holding the shift, space, backspace buttons until nokia shake hand logo appear).

Hii guys Ive been using E6 for abt 7 months and everything is good till nw. Recently i updated my software thru software update and my mail box is very very slow. I have 2 email accounts synced to my E6 and before update everything was alrite and after update whenever i click on inbox to go to other folders, it takes abt 20 seconds for the dropdown list to come!!!!! phone is good but main disadvantage is small screen, such a expensive phone must have a big screen. Another demerit according to me is that we can't play songs from a particular folder and even can't forward songs. Otherwise phone is superb, superb touch response.

i m also using this e6 cell phone. if u want instal the sis file game for e6, 1st u sure that the sis file should be supported file for touch. its better download game from ovi store. it is safe for ur e6 handset.

Its not problem as such just the names and titles of songs are changed on the PC software and it will reflect on the phone. It happened to me when I had the N95 8GB and the E72 and then Xperia Arc S its just several phones do it nowadays

I have the E6 since a few months.Its probably the best qwerty phone right now.Its Gps is world class,Hd video is super,keyboard also.But even,Im using my Android phone now.Why?Cause the Symbian Os is nowhere compare to Android,its full of bugs,and slow also.You wont find applications for this phone.So,its very boring.It could be a super phone,but the Symbian OS is a huge letdown.It kills the phone,that you cant find apps,games for Symbian.Not like Android.

Hd video, offline voice guided navigation, very good audio quality, superb screen, great keypad. Head to head its equal to BB 9900 bold. Dont consider that 600mhz processor. Symbian doesnt require quad core heart. Those looking for a physical qwerty keyboard, go for it...! Those who want to get lost touching their screen to cut the call or to type. Nokia E6 is a solid tank. It has a premium built. However, the OS which is hastily made prior to Windows 7 nokia phones, is full of bugs and has limited 3rd party sofware availability. Considering its price range, is not worth it. It is a T-2 tank driven by Aztecs.

Trust me..the e6 beats the 710. using it since the last two years. great business phone with an amazing camera and music capabilities. battery life rules. goes on for atleast 24 hours with continous whatsapp and some mild browsing on a 2g network. the social app for facebook and twitter has some lag and glitches here and there but then its usable. maps are superp with voice guidance. just plug in ur earphones and the phone tells u the directions. superbly accurate in India. imo the best qwerty by nokia(he e72 is a runner-up cuz of low ram).

Is the best phone for money vs quality and specs. Is a very good build phone, the screen is amaizing, with 325 ppi, like the iPhone's. The qwerty is very good, nice feel of the keys. I think is beter than a BB 9900 and is the best phone for people who whant qwerty and touch in the same device. I use an iPad for all the web/movies/photos things, and the E6 as a phone, with good email, sms, mms and even photo. If it will have also autofocus on camera, it will be the extreme!

batt is not as posted as they said it is.. you have to use the batt saver option to experience the long batt life.. no mp3 playlist and can not edit the songdetails(modern day pirate as i am) hahaha.. other than this the phone is fine.. im a big dude with big hands but nokia e6 makes it so seemless.. touch screen is fantastic and camera is just a wow factor!!! upoad it your pics to your computer and just be amazed how clear your pictures are!!! fantastic unit and great stuff nokia!!!!!!! If you want pdf reader, office reader/editor, I suggest you a bigger screen phone that has a sliding keyboard. Maybe a Motorola Milestone/Droid 3 or other similar phones if you live in US. To me, the E6 design is good only for SMS, otherwise the screen is too small for serious text viewing and editing, even if it has great pixel density.

its notification(keymat)light problem is fixed......and remember guys this is only a cell phone not a computer so its not possible to upgrade any of its hardware...and its manufacturing has been stopped cause of its popularity other models r getting lower responce.....due to this particular model....so cheeeers to those who own it and best of luck to those who want to own it ....

hey der,yup der is a solution for the keymat/notification light issue,well u can get the sloution from a nokia care point itself,they will change it for u wid one on which the light is visible n very much prominent,the original keymat/dpad is totally dark so the light beneath the dpad is not visible,the new one has a trasnperent square which lets the light emit out,u need to get their brains recked thought for it,as some of the care points dont know of the available solution,i got mine changed n in 2days after adressing my issue on the nokia discussion forum,and that too for free as my phone was in warrenty,if the care point aint helping u,just visit tha nokia discussion forum and post der under e6 n then notification light,someone from nokia should get intouch wid ya...

You can still purchase this phone new from eBay. This is the last pure Nokia smartphone. OS is smooth and very responsive, quality is phenomenal (gorilla glass, metal casing, high quality keyboard). I am planning on getting a rubberized case and keeping this for as long as possible.
