If the phone says "expired certificate" when you try to install an application on it, just try to set the phone's date to an earlier year (and so on if needed, untill the installation is possible)and then try to install it again. Don't worry, after the installation is completed, you can set your phone's date to the current year. This should help... ))

That thing on upper left side is not a camera but led light. It blinks only when u recieve new emails through Nokia inbuilt email manager in ur phone.

why is it that my phone is taking at least 2-5mins to send a sms... the only way i can get it to send an sms within reasonable speed is by sending it, taking the battery out, turning the phone back on and then go to the outbox, defer sending then send.... very annoying! anyone who can help me out please do so :/

one gr8 phone so far..brought one a few months back . i've used n-gage and nokia 5610 earlier.. nd m glad to say that this one's a better replacement for both of them ..the only prob is the camera but to b more precise who cares abt camera on a business cellphone.. m using 2gb card on it nd it works really well.. u can load it heavily wid symbian applications nd they all work gr8 ..no issues so far..if u have issues sending sms .. download sms accelerator and it shudd do it..music output's decent since m using my 5610's adapter on it .. nd the best part is the e-mail and net connectivity ...its simply awesome ..this eyecatching gadget frm nokia really Rockzz... \m/

I bought this phone last week. Its a fantastic phone. Its not meant for those college freaks who are not indulged in serious business. For all other guys around, I recommend you all to buy this phone. The only minus point is lack of camera. But thats ok, seeing its other capabilities.

This phone is the collest looking business phone of all. It's more impressive then a Blackberry. Specially its numbering keypad is in the middle unlike blackberry, which keeps the equilibrium. I have been using this phone for the last one year. I must say that I am surprised by the performance of this phone. I was a Sony freak until I used the E62. I found the E62 to be the best in the business phones category. The battery life is really good. I charge my phone once in 3-4 days. The drawback I face is the hot key for voice recording. Apart from this, the phone get a 5 star rating.

The problem with these forums is that its always full with kids that dont have any idea how the market works, and starts complaining about a "step backwards" or even saying that the "nokia will go bankrupt", etc.. What kids gotta understand is that each phone is made for a different "type" of person. For example, this phone is perfect for me.. I dont need a camera, and I dont want to pay extra to have a cam on the cell. I rather use my panasonic TZ3 cam that is always with me and have a MUCH better pic than any cell phone will ever have (bought almost new for 90 bucks). Now, about the comparisons with the e61.. Yes, the 61 is better because it has WLAN and 3G and that makes a huge difference. But, the e62 is half the price of the e61 bought used. I'll stick to the e62 now because I'm unemployed. In the plus side, the e62 has a mini-USB jack, and both e61 and e61i doesnt. A MAJOR problem to all the three models is the lack of a 3.5mm Headphone jack, but that could be solved with an adapter. Now, live with an adapter forever clinging on your phone!!!!

Hi, my E62 takes nearly 1 min to send a test mess. Is this common to all E62 mob or only mine has this prob? But, I've found reseting the mob to its factory settings will let me to send mess sooner. I have used the phone for over a year and like its features a lot. Paired with my Motorola bluetooth earpiece (HS850), it's a great setup. I recently upgraded to Microsoft Office 2007 though, and have yet to be able to get Nokia's software to sync up the phone's contact list with Outlook '07. Support from Nokia unfortunately has not come up with a solution yet (or they just haven't gotten back to me with the fix).

Dear All- I have been using this phone for a year and 2 months. Like most stores you do not get a chance to operate the phone before you make a choice to buy 'em. So "Caveat Emptor" Buyers Beware!! The phone is great for those who wants a regular business phone which can do a Black Berry like work! The phone is addictive for those who have transitioned from an N series to a E series of Nokia. The fall backs of the Phone are as follows, > Huge Lag while opening an application similar to running a Windows XP on 64 MB RAM. When you get a email or a message and you press Read soft key you have to wait for almost 5 seconds until your request has been satisified. It gets irritating when you are driving and you have to make a call.(This has been now corrected on the E61i and E71 phones) > I had to change my internal Mic twice in the past and it has gone off again. Since my phone is out of its company warranty I have salvaged my phone using the Bluetooth headset till I find a better phone. > Record push button next to the voice control. This fone has not been well designed. The soft key is close to the volume control and your phone starts recording the moment you control the volume, it gets irritating because of exhibit A - lag!! Overall experience - 1/5.

I used this phone for over a year but it didn't serve as a business phone because I couldn't protect (read-only) the documents (ex. quotations) that I created for sending by email. Secondly, I couldn't print them directly on printers using USB cable. The search capability is not good. You can't search by name typed in Last Name field or by phone nos. The keys and the joystick were so stiff that my thumb used to pain at times. The plus points are big and crisp display, a good internet browser and good built-in stereo speakers. The sound reception also is clear.

For some blackberry lovers i saw posting here I would like to say, guys, just because YOU love blackberry it doesnt necessarily means its the best thing in the world. And the Nokia E62 IS a business phone, its not for students only. I have BOTH the nokia E62 and the blackberry curve, and let me tell you, here in Brazil, blackberrys only have the BIS plan, which means they are capped. You can only use the original browser (and it sucks), you can do TEXT emails (since blackberry servers strip out all html code from emails) and thats it. Its very hard for me to see my nagios websites on blackberry thanks to the dumb browser and I cant ssh or remote desktop into any server from the blackberry. On the Nokia E62 the browser is way better (and I also run opera mini on it, which is as close as it gets to a desktop computer's browser). I have html emails and I can ssh, remote desktop and everything else. That was the main reason i bought this E62. The only cons I can see so far are: the phone is too big (much bigger than my bb curve), design is not that great, and it is a little bit slow sometimes. But well, it does the job just fine. I am amazed on how easy is to find *ANY* kind of applications for Symbian FOR FREE.

User Band : 8 months Got lot of lag while opening any files or folders. My mic had to be replaced. Joystick started giving problem now lately. Good phone got lot of features but using the E61i is recommended as the lag has been rectified on that phone. If you use your regular 3rd party email use the email s/w provided. Best thing I liked is the blackberry connect feature and the exchange file feature for ur office xchange software(contact your office IT guys) Amazing features- but lot of hiccups that comes along with!

the e62 was brought out in america wifiless and 3g less because the networks didnt want people using it to bypass the charges the networks could oncurr. thats why nokia had to produce a the e62 instead of just giving america the e61. networks have TOO much power

There are three versions of this phone and this happens to be the lowest one. Though, it almost has everything on it. It is lacking WIFI and the speed is sometimes slow. May I suggest getting the E61i or the E61.

I've just emailed Nokia and told them to take this piece of worthless junk and shove it. This thing is crap with a capital, biblical "C". Applications crash, program settings won't stay the way they were set, and on and on. J U N K. At least it's cheap. To all you sheeple...are you that easily satisfied??? "This phone rocks". Yea, maybe in your world. The fact that it runs on Symbian OS alone makes it completely worthless. Most of the Symbian OS apps out there are all show no go. Totally worthless. Every app that I install doesn't even come close to doing what it claims. The fact that Nokia didn't put wifi in this also makes it a total loser. The only good thing is the battery life. Other than that, spare yourself the money.

I have html emails and I can ssh, remote desktop and everything else. That was the main reason i bought this E62. The only cons I can see so far are: the phone is too big (much bigger than my bb curve), design is not that great, and it is a little bit slow sometimes. But well, it does the job just fine. I am amazed on how easy is to find *ANY* kind of applications for Symbian FOR FREE. Amazing phone for the price, the cost x benefit is just unbeatable.

Well I just got this phone a few day ago and overall, I am pretty happy with it. I just wish it was a little faster. Other than that the features are bomb. My BB 8800 i think its a little bit better and easier to use. Maybe i just gotta get used to this phone. As for the miniSD question, the box says its expandable to 2GIGS. I'm sure you could put more on, like 4 or so, but I'll run really slow. I can almost guarantee it.

I have a question about the GPS. Does this phone have it or not? In the menu, you can select bluetooth gps or network provider gps, and then it searches for a gps satellite. That would tell me that it does have it. Do I just need some special software? How do I enable the gps navigation?

Am using E62 for about a fortnight now.It is slow while opening applications and responding to commands-not VERY slow but-just slow.Rest it is great.IF you regard a blazing speed as a must then E62 is not for you.IF you consider FUNCTIONALITY -E62 is exactly the choice.After all a PDA cum Cellophone is OK if it lets you read , edit, and compose Dcuments and spread sheets-receive E mails-and listen and watch videos .Voice is ok.IF speed/cam/videocam is your option-go for N Series.

I have got nokia E62(mocca- blackinsh brown colour) in 9500INR with original bill+warranty. So far, i am hugely satisfied with this robust and sturdy phone. Obviously there are a couple of issues like less RAM, lack of camera and Wi-Fi. But considering the price tag it is worth every penny spent. First of all, 16 million super sharp display is a treat and the outstanding battery life. As far as camera is concerned you will get a sony cybershot of 7.2 MP in 11000INR(Indian rupees equivalent to 200 USD). So, its not fair to complain abt camera, moreover for data security reasons many places prohibit use of camera phones. For an average business user like me, it serves me very well, excellent calender, read and edit office documents(though seldom used) and excellent e-mail connectivity having wide array of options(blackberry connect, POP, SMTP. Cheerz.

I disagree with the assertion that one can "just" download applications for the phone to turn it into a functional business one. Most business people do not want to fiddle with a myriad of wacky and flaky add-ons, $15-50 each, only so that they can somehow fix the ones built into the phone. Add-ons are good for non essential frills and fun, not for the core functions. What is required of a business smartphone is that the *basics just work*. As it was explained below, the basics of this phone are simply deficient in many ways. Furthermore, dismissing these complaints as coming from a "blackberry lover" without actually addressing their substance is the very essence of an irrational attachment to a brand or a product and in itself sign of an indefensible bias. Business people do not normally engage in "fanboyism", as being irrational about your business tool solves nothing when it does not do the job and costs you time and money instead - so you just get another one. Blackberry is by no means perfect and it has a long list of its own issues, but it does the business essentials well and that is why it has become the de-facto standard in North American businesses. The very reason I did try the E62 was the anathema of "loving" of the Blackberry: I tried to explore the alternatives to escape the limitations of the Blackberry platform. Unfortunately the priorities of business use are such that the important things which work well take precedence over the problems which affect the less important parts of the system. In the E62 the fun parts work (like the web browser and games and fun add-on apps) but the business/phone essentials *do not*. It is the exact opposite with the Blackberry but which is also a much more restrictive (and expensive) platform. The phone is simply targetted at a diffrent audience: students and the like, not businessmen (although even students are likely to have problems with the "voice record" button mis-feature and only some serious amount of self-rationalizing-away will somehow allow you to ignore that major flaw as you are likely to fall victim of it rather frequently. That and erasing of a few dozens of useless recording clips a month.)

With the newer symbian os, you can download a whole bunch of symbian business programs for it. It even even has a way better battery life than most blackberry and palm phones. This phone is a pretender. The idea is to lure you into believing that the phone is a business phone, useful for some of us busy business people, a competition to Blackberry and the like. In fact E62 a carefuly designed paper-thin facade of a business phone. Smoke and mirror illusion of functionality. I could go on for hours about the things which are wrong with it, but let me mention most major problems: - the phone OS is unusably slow in many circumstances requiring your reaction to many typical business circumstances - basic functionality required in serious business use is utterly missing. Basic features such as an ability to sort contacts by company (or even to display company name) are missing. - the contact list (and most other apps) become completely useless due to their slow response and lack of any useful information sorting capabilites when you exceed about 20-30 contacts, notes etc. I have 500+ contacts. - in general, the applications offer so little configurability that it would appear that the "designers" decided that they know more about your business use then you do yourself and if you do not use the apps they "only true Nokia way" you WILL be punished. - voice command button, which is also a voice record button (the thing right below the volume control buttons on the left side in the picture), is so easy to press by mistake in a miriad of circumstances that every user of the phone I know has most of the phone's memory filled with 60 seconds recordings of random snippets of conversations and background noise. There is no way to disable this feature. - the voice dialler feature does not let you assign voice tags to names, rendering it UTTERLY USELESS to anyone with any sort of accent of speech impairment. Do not believe people telling you how "wonderful" it is. They have 15 contacts in their contact list and speak accent-free English. - the voice dialler does not let you select the phone number to call amongst many numbers for a contact, you must assign a "default" or else one number will be chosen based on who Nokia "engineers" believe you should be calling. - the word processing and spreadsheet application are essentially useless. Unable to open about 80% of Word documents (Invalid Fromat!) and slow beyond any practical use - the included PDF reader can only open most basic of PDF files, preferably 1/2 page long, text only or else it simply crashes Etc and so on. Just the tip of the iceberg. In short it is a glittery bait-and-switch item, usability of which is restricted to people who would like to pretend they are businessmen but in fact are aspiring students or other individuals to whom "looks" are far more important then the actual operation of the thing. The only reasonably good built-in software feature that is the web browser which is above average as far as smartphones go. Disclaimer: the phone can be salvaged if you (or your corp) spend serious amount of money to essentially replace all of the built-in apps wholesale with something like the GoodLink package. But then what is the point? Just get a Blackberry.

hi guys,,i finally found the stereo headset for the e62. a pal picked up a sagem my214x and the handsfree (for the fm) happened to be the 3 ring pin, checked it on the device and it sure plays well, better than any other. just a piece of advice though , please check the compatibility for ur piece before you buy it . happy hunting. cheers.

This post is regarding the battery, pcworld has rated the e62 battery as supperior averaging around 10 hours of constant use so there is not really any concern about battery span.A regular user should be abled to use this for around 4-5 days after full charge.3 days for extreme users.

I don't think e62 have the stopwatch or timer. You can change the display thro' Menu -> Tools -> Settings ->Phone -> Standby Mode -> Active Standby Apps / Active Standby.

By far one of the best PDA phones out there. I got this phone from my work and it does everything a blackberry can, and better. Integrating with your exisiting blackberry server is easy, the user interface is friendly and easy to navigate along, and the reception/voice/speakerphone is great. The only con i can give for this phone is that you occasionally need to power the phone (once every 3 weeks) as it runs out of memory and does not know how to end some of the unused applications(this also because of the S60 coding). Also the side of the phone is somewhat akward as sometimes i have trouble holding the phone for long durations of talk. Other then those 2 small problems, this phone is awesome and good for ppl that want a full functional pda phone at a very good price. I recommend

This phone does not have a camera, does not have a FM radio. How can Nokia expect it to become popular. In fact apart from a Camera and a FM Radio, some thing more is now required for a preimium segment phone e.g. option to accepet calls only from a selective list of 25 numbers or a rejection list of numbers which will not be accepeted.

It is possible to connect the E62 to the internet using your home or office internet access via bluetooth (it's not trivial to do it, but it works fine). The other difference between the E61 and E62 is that the E61 has WCDMA (not that it matters in Brazil yet). There's also the E61i, with a 2Mpx camera. Of course, the biggest difference is the price. I have the E62 (Brazil, Claro) and it was a real bargain (for Brazilian standards).

Once pic and movies are loaded, they look wonderful. screen is as big as ipod! doesn't hold near as much; but with a 4gig sd card you should be entertained for days! user function is wonderful also. i just got this in to "replace" my N80. user interface is pretty much the same, this one just has more office features. Again, GREAT PHONE!

This handset lack high speed HSDPA support though it does support EDGE and hasa few interface quirks but it's one of the most capable PDA phones on the market, it has a very nice keyboard so roomy I can honestly say its a "full" qwenty keyboard. flat keys that are beautifully sized and spaced , setting up email was so easy i did find some trouble when it was on lower volume to hear it, however its very very light unit and very comftorable to hold , talk time battery is excellent mp3 player and headset are also inside the pack, although all the goods, it has no camera, and no 3g service & i'm still wondering after using the E61 that I'm gonna have problems with the battery (that my E61 stopped charging, read review over E61 in GSMArena link below: and look for the charging complaints)) Dont hesitate to ask questions ! - Daniel H.

Hi. I am using this phone since last 1 month & works great. Its battrey is the best. its display & keyboard is also gr8 and easy to use then previous O2 mini. The lack of Camera & FM doesnt effect much as every1 below said that digital Camera's clarity is much better to mobile phones and they r cheaper. In India the concept is Wi-Fi isnt that much then why to spend 3k more on E61. The Sound output is great. Its Miniweb feature is also a good feature while browing and the speed is also nice using the advanced GPRS. Most of the comments here are misguided... This is a phone targeted to businesses and government/civil workers in classified sectors who are not allowed to bring in a mobile phone without a camera. If you insist on having a camera, look for other solutions or buy a separate personal phone for your own private use away from work. As for lack of wi-fi, that is due to Cingular marketing their data packages. T-mobile offers wi-fi on their devices as they sell the T-Zone Hot Spot service to utilize it. As for lack of 3G, the phone was released months before 3G was even offered by Cingular. I work with a private contractor and I can say that this device is a great PDA/Smartphone that meets the criteria of the government agencies. If you cannot have a camera on your phone but want a great device to organize your life, this is definately a great buy!

I've had this phone for about a month or so and this phone i would say is pretty good haven't used everything on this phone because well i had trouble with things like using Nokia Suite for everything else except uploading songs. This is my first PDA type of phone and i am loving it other than the size of this thing just its really thin and light but its pretty wide and it doesn't really have a nice fit in your hand when your using it or talking on the phone. Other than that if anyone can help me do things like upload games using my Java and upload pictures and videos then please just let me know either send me your email and ill have a talk with you through there or just message me back here. Thanks i give this phone 7 out of 10.

I have it for a couple of months, and I just love it. Huge value for the cost, stable, long battery life, light, and feature-rich. Two minor annoyances: 1 - My operator (Claro Brazil) ripped the IP Passthrough out, and I believe Cingular US did that too. Lacking this feature and without WiFi makes internet access possible only through GPRS/EDGE. I don't blame Nokia; they offer the E61 with WiFi. 2 - The phone does not come with a stereo headset (a shame, since it has a mp3 player), and the item is still hard to find. Most "alternative" headsets aren't accepted. I read that the Treo 650 stereo headset works. I made mine "merging" Nokia and SonyEricsson parts.

I started with the BLACKJACK great phone but it would not handle my email needs. So after a week and a 2nd Blackjack... the guy at Cingular pointed me to a blackberry. He didn't even show me this $99 dollar phone. I have the E62 and it kicks butt...not sleek as blackjack, but I can edit excel, word, do all my email, and sound is good too. So if you are not shallow, and its about how it works not looks. "GET IT"

This phone is lousy. I can�t find a stereo miniplug headphone that will work with it. A P2 to P1 stereo adapter will result in a unacceptable accesory message. In the specs you will find that it plays MP4 video but again all programs I�ve used to convert to this format result in a message message by Real Player stating that it can not play the video. 3GP format will play but produce poor results, compared to what you can have with MP4 on a 16 million color screen. If anyone has solved these problems, please let me know.

this phone DOESNT have wifi people. the E61 DOES. get your facts straight. no wifi = data plan charges for browsing the internet. if u want wifi go spend some money and get the E61.

Hi This review is wrong. The E62 that I have has WiFi and 3G so take a good look at Nokia�s page before discarding it.

ofcoarse 7710 is a winer wit the screen but the internt is not wifi compatible...... and its slow. i do love the web on this phone, it just that three month itch... and time to get something new in the nokia family... any good suggestions

I have the 7710 with latest firmware, its really fast and reliable, I think 7710 is alot better than E61 just compare the screens: Nokia 7710 has a bigger high resolution touch screen display, E61 has smalller and low resolution display without touch screen, 7710 is the clear winner and the best phone from Nokia ever.

well, I think It sucks for cingular customers to not be able use wifi and pay $20 a month, I have e61 and I have T zones with T mobile for $5.99....and I can do it all....it's just a trick... you pay the half, you get the half...

to Jason: Yes, it may be some kind of competition for M600, however: 1. It is much bigger 2. It has no touchscreen 3. It is much more ugly 4. It is more expensive I would never buy E62 instead of M600.

Yes, this is one of the things I like about high end Nokia's: once you pop in your sim card, it automatically retrieves the Internet Settings and stores it under the sim card. So yes, this will definately work with T-Mobile.

I think I had the E61 and E62 model numbers reversed in every instance in my last post.

There are a few reasons to get an E61 over an E62... The E61 has a standard mini-USB and 2.5mm jack instead of the silly pop-port. The E61's bluetooth can be used for more than just a headset. But the biggest reason of all would be availability and price. I've had to make two different online retailers return my money after claiming they had a E62 available but it never happened. Rogers Wireless (in Canada) now has the E61 in stores, which with a contract can be hundreds cheaper. I might end up going that way... hate to give up up the WLAN. :(

Like so many else mentioned, why this giant step backwards? I can only think of one category of people that'll buy this phone; the ones who don't know about the E61. Got the E61 myself, I use wlan every single day at home - when I'm at home, my pushmail chooses the wlan instead of GPRS/3G. When I'm going out, it automatically switches over to GPRS/3G (or, I get 3G all the time, so no GPRS). Someone said that it includes all the pushmail solutions - well, so do E61 - free download on the nokia site. The ones who are defending this phone and saying "it's all that" must be very regretful, knowing there's a much better alternative ...but now, they've already got this one. I can't think of anything that would make me buy this phone when there's an alternative like the E61.

I think this phone is great. I have it and its very easy to use. I use my Gmail and Imail work server email on this device it works great. Big Deal about the Camera. Just buy a Digital camera u have better Rezalution. i have my 6682 phone and i can Transfer all my Pics on to this device via Bluetooth problem solved. and as far as the Wi-fi yah that would be nice. but the 19.99 Unlimited Internet will solve the issue. u dont need the 39.99 PDA Plan or the 44.99 BB Plan.

To E62 Maing: Wifi, is a powerful tool for business owner, youd be making an assenine decision, if you pass that up. Wifi is also everywhere, like HotSpots and your home. If you take a closer look and compare the E61 and E62, you would see great disappointment. Besides the Wifi ans 3G, you also have an option of having an unbranded phone. Also Push to Talk, the OS layout...and more...if theres anybody else out there who can also help out in filling the major differences, please do.

I just got this E62 and i think its amazing. it has everything you need in the business world and if you need a camera that badly, then go get a camera instead of complaining. And about the Wifi, well why should you get free/steal internet when others are paying for it?. other than that my only issue with this phone is the weight. It can be a bit lighter.....peace

this phone targets multiple types of users and also accomodates corporate and government employees who cannot physically take a camera phone inot the workplace due to security and privacy reasons. No wifi because Cingular ordered it from Nokia that way. I've personally seen this phone and this is gonna make a splash. No, it is not taking a step backward, it is taking a giant step forward. It comes preloaded with every push email client out there, 16million color screen (far better than anything outhere). Oh and wait till you see the web browser...SICK!!!

The way Nokia is going they maybe bakrupped.This phone is already obsolete before its released.I mean if they dont start getting theses types of phones to a sub 120grams and wifi then they are in serious trouble.

the e62 does not have wi-fi because its being released in the US by Cingular. If there was wi-fi (wlan) less people would subscribe to Cingular's $19.99 unlimited data plan. Take out the wi-fi and Cingular makes more money. Cingular also has thier "8125" which does have wi-fi...so im thinking they dont want to offer too many devices with wi-fi on their network, and of course they are going to cut the wi-fi from other manufacturer's devices and not thier own branded one. I think thier 8125 is made by HTC or something, but it is recognized as a Cingular's device.

well its basically for all the blackberry buffs in the states who dont use wifi or 3g.. this cuts the cost.. so they be willing to spend on a nokia that can do their work plus maybe stream and play music and videos and edit attachments which of course u cant do in a blackberry.
