Limited Apps with limited updates including fake apps. A phone without entertainment except for the social media or internet. Useful when calling and texting. A lot of apps which are not compatible for this phone. This phone doesn't have much uses and if you plan on buying this phone, make sure the user is someone who doesn't spend much time with the social media.

Still using a Nokia Lumia 635 in 2018. Works fine, even with Windows 10 (1511) in a 512K phone. Yes, it was a hack - upgraded during the brief period when it was possible via Windows Insider. Still on the original battery, too. I wish I could find as well-built and -supported Android phone to replace it now that all support (except the Jan.2018 security fix) has ended for W10/1511 - but the upgrade did get me almost an extra year of support over 8.1 Cyan (the last officially supported Windows on the T-Mobile phone). Even mid-grade Androids have serious downchecks, and cheap ones well-deserve the "cheap" moniker. The 635 wasn't cheap; it was inexpensive.

For such a cheap phone, the Nokia 635 is surprisingly decent. I have used mine since December of 2014, and it's served me well for nearly three years. The thing's about as durable as the rocks I've dropped it on numerous times, and I like the OS. In short, the phone itself is excellent. The main problem lies in the support- the phone is no longer updated, and the app store is pretty barren. That's the main reason that I'm switching to an iPhone next month. If you care at all about apps, this isn't a good choice. If you're looking for an inexpensive phone that can do just about anything else a smartphone should be able to do, it is.

That's just one of the many problems I've been having in the past few months! I got it in Feb 2016 & loved it at first (but I now think that was due more to my inexperience with smartphones than to it being a good phone!) but now my apps keep crashing, webpages either won't load at all or it only loads part of the page or it takes several minutes to load; the home screen keeps freezing; battery needs charging 2-4 times a day blah blah blah..! So, I'm saving up for a new phone - just hope this phone survives the few weeks it'll take for me to get the money for the phone I've set my heart on - which wouldn't be a Windows phone even if they were still on sale in UK shops!!

I had this phone for about 6 months I got it at a pawnshop when I needed a phone right away. Paid 60 bucks for it and was very surprised, my mom has a Windows 7 phone before and it was HORRIBLE. I expected this to be the same. But it was surprisingly decent. I actually liked the layout and thought for the price it had decent features and worked retativly well. Yea the windows app store is NOWHERE near like Apple or Google but it's there and even t hi apps lack features they are EXTREMELY small in MB which is nice. I was able to screencast to my tv (even tho after a little while it always crashed). Pretty much it ran pretty good, I have been an iphone guy all my life I stood in line for 8 hours for the first iphone but it my last iPhone broke and was waiting dfor the next wow phone and needed something for meantime. This phone runs MUCH MUCH MUCH better then a low end android PERIOD. I moved to an S8+ now. I have used many many androids but unless they are mid-flagship models. All the low end ones are horrible. So if u have a choice between low end android or this windows phone take the windows phone.

HORRIBLE product. The phone is awesome.... WHEN it works. Going on phone #3, in 8 months. Same problem, every time. Phone starts acting weird, won't power down,wont power back on, tiles disappear. Phone will ring, email/text alert, but can't get the screen to light up to answer calls/email/text. THREE PHONES, 8 MONTHS... SAME problem. Good luck getting any help from Microsoft/Nokia/At&t. This is clearly a manufacturers defect, but Microsoft offers little to no help.... IF you can even get thru, before being disconnected.

I've had my Nokia Lumia 635 for over a year now, and it has been a pretty decent phone for the price. However, I 've noticed glitches when it comes to the certain apps, especially with facebook and instagram. It has never happened before, but within the past several months, it has cut off when in use of the app.

Had this phone for over a year it tell me to start a Nokia account but it will not let you. After first six months it will not let you post anything keeps turning off. Can't even go to windows store because an error. They give you three options to fix it none work. very dissatisfied with this phone altogether.

ive been an android user but when i experience this phone, it's very nice and smoothi got 512ram (i wish i could upgrade it to w10). clear black and wifi connection is fast. the only issue i got is i cannot connect using my data, i already tried setup apn settings but its still not going through, do i have to setup nokia account first or is there anybody out there knows any group or can help with this? thanks a lot

Full review of the Nokia Lumia 635: I've had this phone for almost a year now. Those of you looking for a very cheap phone with simplistic software that is very limited in terms of features then this phone might be for you. The Lumia 635 has aged quite a bit now and in today's perspective it might be seen as quite 'dated'. The phone's design is nothing to be excited about. You get what you pay for which is a cheap feeling plastic phone. It feels no way near premium in the hand and there isn't a single piece of metal in the design. However, don't be fooled because although it may be made out of plastic, the phone is actually very durable. How do I know this? I admit that I accidentally dropped the phone from the top of my stairs but what amazes me was to turn the phone over and see not even a scratch on the screen. Of course there was some internal damage which caused the screen and side buttons to be unresponsive but the screen was literally untouched. Nokia have always lived up to their name of making very durable phones. Some of you might remember the well known 'nokia brick'. I like to think of this phone as the 'modern day Nokia brick'. Moving on to the phone's performance, the phone is surprisingly fast. It has a 1.2 GHz snapdragon processor which does well to keep up with heavy tasks. Nokia made the right decision to partner with Qualcomm. Within the first 5-7 months of using this phone, I had no problems with stutters or freezing. The phone's performance was utterly flawless. Within these first months the phone wasn't too slow either but of course it wasn't lightning speed. After a year or so though the phone starts to slow down like you'd expect with any other phone and you'll start to experience a few regular stutters. The phone's 5 megapixel camera is nothing but poor. Pictures taken are fuzzy at times and underdetailed. Pixels can be seen without even zooming in on photos and without a flash, the phone struggles to take lowlight photos. The phone also lacks a front facing camera which is disappointing because that means no selfies or fully working apps like Skype. One thing I really like about the Lumia 635 though is its speaker's sound quality. The phone being cheap, I expected the sound quality to be cheap but it wasn't. The sound quality is actually better than most low-low mid range phone's these days and for its age that's pretty good. It's not extremely loud but it doesn't sound tinny like a lot of phones do these days. The sound is clear and defined. The worst part of this phone is the software. Windows. The name says it all. Windows means limited features compared to IOS or android, limited apps, very simplistic UI, horrible app and website layouts, incapable of modifying with launchers and so on. The negative list is endless. Overall, this phone would be best for someone who doesn't want to spend very much on their phone, doesn't want all the features of an average smartphone and wants a simplistic easy to use interface. You see I completely disagree with you. With the new Android 7 nougat software, there are plenty of features that save battery and there are thousands of Android phones with different specifications. Some have huge batteries others don't which is the same for both apple and windows phones but because there's so many Android phones, you have a better chance of finding a phone with a big battery that will last a long time. The oukitel k10000 has a 10000mah battery that can last a week on heavy usage. So you can't say that all Android phones waste battery. What's more is that you can do so much more or Android software just because of how widely used it is internationally. The Google play store compared to the windows store is colossal and there are an endless amount of more apps that you can install with ease. I personally have had a Windows phone for a year now and I am sick of it so I switched to Android. It's too simplistic and limited. I would suggest windows phones to people who lack the understanding of how to operate a phone like more older people.

I've had my 635 for 2.5 years now. it's been around the world. Getting now to be slow and stutter, even though I am not a big user of apps. Miss a lot of company-specific apps (e.g. banking, airlines, etc) available for iPhone and Android, but not Windows 8.1. Satnav and maps very good (I use the downloaded maps in places like Hong Kong, Ontario, Vietnam, USA, Europe, etc). Phone though now seems very tired. Time now for something newer, preferably Android (wife has iPhone 6, and while nice, don't like the way Apple does things). It has been reliable, no problems (except when I first got it, wouldn't recognise memory card, but was replaced immediately in the store, no questions).

My screen just crashed without dropping it. I put it in my blue jean back pocket to go down to the car. I get on the car then put the phone standing and as I drive out I noticed the crashed screen. I stopped using it because it feels like GLASS and I can feel the glass cutting my fingers. LCD is ok I have had other phones and I feel this is NOT right. Should I spend money fixing.....it may happen again....or better forget about Nokias..

Being Nokia, have to say one of the best phones i have, sure no front facing camera, I'm not a selfie freak! I pop a tempered glass protector on, and dropped it 20 x still fine lol. I paid like $25.00 who cares, and i got 4G.....most apps run fine on 8.1 . I dont even like win 10....... if you want something that calls/ text's odd App or 2 go for it.........Sturdiest Smart phone I've had. I'm not going to pay $300 for a phone.

Follow up Correction: For a budget phone,I think its not an excuse for them to remove the front camera. Yeah i agree with the others with the broken internet explorer, websites dont load well in this phone. If the sites don't load,the browser gives up and crashes itself and take you straight to app screen (main menu) Even I carefully press the previous button when navigating the webpage, takes you two pages back! I had to check history to take me to my recent previous page.

Got this phone last June 2015, so far I'm having problems with random freezing (i had to remove battery), the default internet browser crashes anytime (ecen,store web browsers are trash too, websites get broken). That one camera captures and records in high quality even it only had a fairly low megapixel. Battery is really solid for me. Now with the issues and setbacks, I got the 512mb RAM variant, so I can't upgrade to Win 10. No video call support too, I'm fine using that one camera at the back but giving us 100% no support/no compatibility for video calling across all apps? Thats terrible. For a budget phone,I think its not an for them to remove the front camera. Very limited apps in the store for this particular phone. Not sure if i can benefit using 4G in this phone since it cannot do livestream/video call. Browser crashes, youtube only loads 480p (4G is overkill here). But hey this is budget phone what can I say? Just tried this phone but look, there are better phones than this Lumia 635 within the price bracket. Not good budget phone in long run overall. Windows phone OS make this worst. Bottomline: Good hardware (snapdragon, glonass,4G, corning gorilla,glass) but bad software.

When you go to a webpage it will randomly without touching anything go back to main menu or previous webpage. Making it impossible to read a blog or do any research because it will go back and leave the webpage you were on & also erasing your history. Very frustrating & useless internet phone.

I've had this phone for about a year and it is the worst thing ever DONT buy this phone you will regret it. Any music in a playlist can't is played and says 'Sorry, this song is not available on your phone. To play it here, copy the song from your PC to your phone.' Even to download an app you have to make a Microsoft family I had to make one and it took all day I had to make my sister my parent because my parents aren't good with technology. That's just the tip of the iceberg the reason I'm so angry is the 'little' bug when you have to reset your phone because the lock/power button breaks and when you lock your phone it turns off. The only good thing about the phone is nothing. Get a Samsung or iPhone don't waste your money on this. This is a real review not the fake reviews from google from the people that had it for like a month.

If you have the date and time setting to be set by the provider, when you change time zones, either your provider is updating the time by your location or if you are changing the SIM to a different provider abroad, that provider is changing the time. You can change the settings to that the time is set manually and it won't change

okay not to be on the down side but I have been using this phone for a year now and I would not recommend anyone to buy this phone. the camera is ok. the software is horrible it slows up . turn on and off by it self and it doesn't turn stays off when u turn it off it comes right back on. the battery life is poor very poor. it doesn't load quickly it loads a 2/10 after a while. but I have dropped it a lot of times it is still in one piece. as some of us know the store stinks . you have to buy most of the apps that are free on google play. when persons call me the phones doesn't ring at times and no miss call. I couldn't download much apps because it has horrible internal memory and whats can only be on the internal memory which lil bit. but others I hate windows now after this phone and this was my first windows phone, I always wanted but now NOPE so those of you that phones are up and running good for u but I got the malfunctioning batch.

I've been using this phone for 2 years now, the phone does what it says it does, pretty good battery, quad core is working pretty well the back camera actually takes pretty good pics, and it has had several hard drops and didn't affect it at all. of course the windows store sucks and the 512 ram has it's downfalls sometimes while using internet explorer, but that's no surprise overall, it's a great phone for a very good price

Just so you know guys, I have 1 gig version, last week I installed Win 10 Preview and it's amazing!! Everything looks better and smoother, didn't notice any crashes, some apps even perform better, like Whatsapp. Battery life is little bit better and Settings are much easier to navigate and set up. Thumbs up!

It's a good phone for beginners. I got this in September 2015, it's had a few falls from the pocket. But overall it's durable. The fluidity of it is great. Some apps do crash, e.g daily mail online. And a few hiccups with Internet explorer. But overall it's great. It takes calls, you can message/whatsapp. And play Spotify. It is good for music and the speaker is fine. The flow keyboard is a handy feature but sometimes it can mess up. The store isn't great but you can't expect everything. It's a windows phone, it's just a novice to the smartphone world. So dont expect what IPhones have. At least you don't need security because its windows. Any way it's a good phone for novices and those on a budget but want an ALRIGHT phone.

No front camera, horrible back camera with auto light correction that makes for grainy images. Tinny sound. Only SOME models are 1GB RAM, MOST are 512MB RAM. With the latest WinPhone 8.1 updates, the phone lags frequently when switching apps and forget trying to play many games. The CPU is the best part of the package but the GPU and 512MB RAM models basically make the quad-core useless. I have since 'downgraded' to an iPhone 5s which runs just as well with only a dual-core processor because it has better RAM, a better GPU, and better open app memory management. And this doesn't even begin to address the issue of the app gap between Android. iOS and Windows.

The phone is OK if you like a Windows phone. But if you prefer to stay with Android, you can find an android phone on this site to write about. The battery is decent comparing with a budget Android that you must charge daily, suffocated also by almost everyday updates... I also have problem updating OneDrive on it, remains stuck there already for 2 months trying update manually. It`s the only one application is not updating and I hope Microsoft will solve in the end the issue since their forums about the subject are unhelpful. And nothing heard until now about upgrading to Win 10.

Honestly I bought this phone a while back and I've come to the conclusion that it's alright as a Phone to call and text on but overall I'ts appalling for everything else! It crashes on facebook, messenger and even its own search engine/app. The processor and poor storage are the main cause of this. My advice don't buy this unless you want to show how well you can choose a rubbish phone. The Windows store I also definitely lacking and if you were to buy this phone you become very limited to the amount of apps and games that can be installed, as they're mostly rubbish as I have found out by experience. Honestly there was a time I would swear by the Nokia build quality however this model fails to reflect the solid build quality you used to get. Hope this helped.

My first windows phone, have always used android. Was not hard adjusting, I like the overall set up of this phone BUT...im actually on my 2nd one in 6 months. The first one got bumped by my kid off my nightstand(maybe 2 ft tall?) and shattered the screen, that was the first time it had been dropped. I purchased a 2nd one about 6 wks ago and the screen is already busted on this one. So I say they need to be made more durable for sure!!! And today I ran across the issue of this phone does not support flash player at all...which is stupid since there r alot of things that still require flash player to be able to access them. right before I found this forum I was telling my husband that I think I will go back to Android...havent decided 100% yet but I'm not very happy with Nokia Lumia at the moment.

A great phone. Have had mine since March and love it. Before this I had Samsung Galaxy and battery needed charging daily. With this phone i only have to charge up 2 or 3 times a week maximum. Easy to use and am glad I rediscovered Nokia phones after so many years of being loyal to Samsung

Issue on Nokia Lumina 635 setting in "Ease of Access" is being locked out of touch scrolling down to content or next setting. I can't get back into this setting because it's not letting it scroll down or up, just using text boxes to touch commands. I need to check online again to de-activate setting, and / or reset phone to release from this terror. Voice action is okay, besides the issue. Anything to suggestions ?

I really like the voice texting option. It's so hard for me to try & type those little keys, now all I have to do is talk & hit send. Only problem is that you only get like 10 or 15 seconds to record what you say. If anyone knows how to set the limit for longer than 10 seconds please contact me. I love mine. I've had it for about a month. I always had androids previously but had no trouble figuring out how this phone works. It's very fast and smooth. I was delighted to find that it works with the t-coil setting on my hearing aids, although the sound quality is awesome anyway. The camera isn't the greatest but I have a digital camera for when I want better pictures. I did have to purchase a screen protector because for some reason the bare screen would pick up the oil in my finger tips and get sticky. A screen protector solves that problem.

I agree I got this fone 50.00 and I think its great..there are many bad reviews tho but my experience overall is very good. I like the keyboard much tighter and efficient than a droid or os. I like the customization and games move fluidly. Battery life is very good and for texts n calling its very user friendly. It packs a punch for a budget fone speakers excellent..utube launches effortlessly.

OH NO OT'S NOT! You obviously haven't tried the Cubot S108! Not a bad phone unless you want to text someone. The bottom line of letters can't decide if they are the space bar or not. Plus unless the hammer the letters, half of them don't register. THIS is bad enough, but it's made 5000% worse by the fact that the predictive text CAN'T be switched off. This means sending any text takes TWICE as long because when you look up the bloody phone has put a capital letter at the front of the word and you're in the middle of typing a DIFFERENT word because three letters in you hit the full stop or space bar and it takes you ten seconds before you've remembered what you were typing! Then there's the online access. Giffgaff can't tell me how to set it up to go online. With wifi I'm fine. Getting online using the phone itself is impossible!

Yes, it does have quiet hours. Open up the Cortana app, then tap on the menu (three bars) icon at the top right. One of the items is "quiet hours". You can turn it on or off, followed by hours, and other rules.

The phone is fine... I guess. Its a bit slow on launching and re-opening apps. I dislike that there isn't a quick and easy way to see what's in memory - and dump it when I want to. The Facebook app is underwhelming, but that's probably not Nokia or Microsoft's fault. I find the interface to be messy and hard to customize. the contacts button keeps showing me pictures of people I don't want to see all that often, despite my wanting to keep them as contacts. I tried to resize the buttons on the interface - not sure if you can, but its my phone, and I'd like the option for large or small buttons on the main interface.

What can i say, i am a Nokia Fan from my very first nokia 3220. This is my 4th Nokia, and regardless of missing front cam, it honestly is a solid phone. I mainly just play games, and so far it hasn't let me down on games, even though it is just 512 MB of Ram. I once compared this with a Lumia 920, and guess what, this was way faster. Great phone! It has an all day battery and is responsive. The apps work well and I like the built in health apps. Cortana is useful and has saved my bum a couple of times. I'm using it on Boost Mobile and reception is good, no dropped calls. Got it for $74 at Radio Shack a month ago.

This is my fourth windows phone 3rd Nokia Lumia 2 words "Love it". I've owed many Android from flips to sidekicks, HTC, SAMSUNG, MOTOROLA, and even the " holy grail" of gel phones the newest IPHONE at the time the 5 which I absolutely hated this thing was thumbs down across the board from calling reception to the barely there internet. The 3G which was the top at this time was horrible dropped calls, no signal 📶, texts were just as bad. As for this IOS it was sluggish and not user friendly like everyone leads you to believe. After a week of struggling with this piece of crap I sold it and found what is now know to my wife and I as our phone savior, it was a HTC WINDOWS PHONE Aluminum back unlocked running window phone 7. Ever since that my wife and I have only owned window phones without any real issues at least 7 different phones between both of us. Can't wait for Windows phone running Windows 10. We tell everyone how much we love our windows phones and have given our old phones to 3 people 2 who are now also life long windows phone fans

My Android phone crashed and I got the T-Mobile USA version for $50. For the price this is an incredible phone! Scrolling and animations are always fluid, the OS seems to be rock solid, not a single app or phone crash yet. If it wasn't for the lack of apps I may switch over to Windows Phone completely. Downsides: lack of front camera (but there is Lumia Selfie app which gives you an audible clue when up to 2 heads are in frame); no HDR mode; no flash light; some apps that are not system defaults stop when put in background (not true multi-tasking as in Android); most popular apps are available, however no Google Hangouts or Google Music or Google Translate, you get my drift... Upsides: no bezel that can be scratched, the battery cover goes around the edges and sits flush with the front screen; so when it gets old, simply swap it out for $6 = phone looks brand new again; solid build; up to 128 GB SD card capacity and everything can be set to store on the external card by default (!), no time wasted with apps like Move2SD like on Android; very clear privacy options and easy to enable/disable apps to run in the background; awesome offline GPS navigation functionality with free maps (worth $50 all by itself!); looks are highly customizable and easy to do even for the novice user; having just one home page but with resizable icons is actually way more efficient than the Android/iphone way. And last but not least, call clarity is stellar (HD voice and Wifi calling). I stop here. All you need to know is, for $50 this is an absolutely incredible phone.

I've owned this phone for nearly a month now. It's almost the perfect phone for me,so much smoother and faster than my old Samsung Galaxy Trend Plus. The only drawback with it so far has been the lack of a front camera and flash. I have installed all the apps I had on the Samsung. Great bang for the buck. Only $49.99 at the ATT store after I had buyer's remorse and returned a Samsung S6 which would have cost me about $750 with tax (over a 30 month period.) The camera is only 5 megapixels but so what. At this price if it breaks or I lose it, I can just get another one.I was able to use it with my existing plan and won't up the cost of my plan a cent. The internet is fast as is everything else. The screen resolution is sharp and there are still many more apps I can get for free that are compatible than I will ever use.

I was the first person in my area to get a 635. I was impressed by some of the features but as I got to know it better, not so much. My first gripe was with a phone company installing Skype on a phone with no front camera, it just smacks of lack of attention to details. I than found that the browser is very unstable, it freezes or will crash and return to the home screen. When going to the recent sites, the page I was on when it crashed is not in the history. Not a huge deal but frustrating. I sent feedback to Nokia and when filling out the form they sent me for return, the browser crashed and I lost the page AND the email disappeared. There is a proximity sensor but you have to jam the phone into your ear so hard it gets uncomfortable fast. When I was setting up the 635 from my old phone, transferring contacts and such, the old phone had been erased and switched off, a day later I turned it back on to get some pictures transferred to my PC and the phones linked up, transferring the erased contacts to the new phone, overwriting the full list with an empty one. I used my old phone to stream music to the radio in my car, I can't get the 635 to connect consistently, long enough to listen to a song. WiFi is iffy, my home connection is super strong and the phone looses the signal all the time. I will never own another Nokia, I was an early adapter of the Windows Phone but am considering an Android after this phone.

The Nokia Lumia 365 is amazing. Usually my phone are so slow and annoying but this phone is amazingly fast, even after 9 months of being used. the battery life is amazing too as I do not have to charge the phone as much as I did with my old phones.

I like Nokia phones, they used to make such good phones. I still have a working 6310i, it powers up with a happy tune and 5 seconds later it is ready to use. So I decided to try the Nokia 635, it is well made and very high spec; 4G, quad core, gorilla glass all for less than the price of a tank full of petrol!!! But there is a fly in the ointment, a great big Jumbo Jet sized festering fly: cue the Sci-fi B Movie spooky music: Windows Mobile 8!!! I powered the phone up and after answering a ton of questions, I am sure it even asked for my inside leg measurement, it finally came to life as a phone. Time to explore the apps, oh dear it wants to update the apps app, I can�t go any further without updating so say yes! Big mistake, �error, can�t update app, error code 06487643 may be useful� it says, then it restarts itself, then another error, noooooooo! It�s Windows 95 all over again, run for the hills ma!!!! After a couple of hours, several restarts, multiple errors (I stopped counting) and with beads of sweat visible on the wifi router the phone thinks it�s finished and ready to go. Great! Lets install Snapchat to show my chums the sweaty router, what no Snapchat that�s daft! Ah well lets install Sky Go that hugely successful app for watching Sky TV, oh dear that�s not here either, better check on the Sky website. Aha! Sky Go requires Microsoft Silverlight and that isn�t supported on Windows Mobile 8. ARE YOU FREEKIN KIDDING ME!!! So Microsoft Silverlight, developed by Microsoft isn�t supported on Microsoft Windows Mobile 8 also developed by Microsoft?! Are there two Microsofts? Is one in a different universe to the other? What idiotic, warped Excel spreadsheet business plan did they come up with? Fortunately for me the phone sensed my disappointment and when I got up this morning it had died in the night, I wrapped it up and rather than flush it down the loo I rushed it back to the shop before it could change it�s mind, it is Microsoft after all, and claimed my refund that is now residing in the fuel tank of my car!

What troubles me is people recommending or comparing this phone to the likes of the Moto G, but fail to mention that a Moto G costs twice what this Lumia does, at least at the time of my purchase. Do I think its worth double the cost? Hardly. I'm very pleased with the battery life of this phone, the responsiveness of the OS and the general ease of use. There are downsides such as screen resolution and camera but I must remind myself that for the price, it has a very high quality low res screen and a very good 5mp camera! Before buying this Lumia I also tested another budget android with a reported excellent battery life, the xperia e3. Similar specs all around but still generally lower quality than the Lumia, and more importantly $75 more. Just not worth it. On the app front I have to say I don't see the same "app gap" that a lot of reviewers mention. My phone is filled with all the same apps I used on android, and a ton of top quality games I will never have the time to play! I do believe some of the specialized "fringe" apps are missing, most likely to be noticed by the type of people who spend their lives reviewing and discussing cell phones. I'm not left wanting. Overall I'm pleased with my purchase. I'm confident this phone will last me until my hardware upgrades comes up, and I'll likely be getting another Windows phone!

Works pretty awesome, was cheap as hell too for a smart phone with stats that are seemingly on par with even an iPhone 6 since they didn't upgrade to 2 gig ram when moving up from the iPhone 5S, but I don't know all too much about that kinda stuff. Love how easily it is to slap new ringtones and mess around with the settings, the connectivity with my Surface Pro 2 is also pretty neat but I haven't delved into that much yet.

i have just got the nokia lumia 635. what a great mobile. no front camera but i dont take many pictures. it works great if you use windows. i use it for work. what can i say but i love the phone. if you take a lot of pictures it wont be the right phone for you.

6 months after having a 635 (55 eur tied with Movistar), I think I could make a proper review. CONS No front camera..... I don't make selfies or skype. For me it's OK. No flash...... Even with flash I haven't got any phone to do night pictures. For me it's OK. No light sensor.... But it has a good three position switch. I don't need it. Most of us would put this position to "High" forever. I put it into "Medium" to save battery and sometimes (direct sunlight), I raise into "High". No problem. No proximity sensor.... Maybe a problem, but Nokia/MS has a good workaround. When you are calling or simply put two fingers in the top of the phone, screen freezes so no problem. 512MB..... Maybe a future problem with Windows 10. In Windows 8.1 Denim, it's very fluent. Screen fingerprints. This is a real problem Microsoft!!! Smudges and fingerprints over the screen.... Always have a cleaning cloth with you.... PROS: Gorgeous Snapdragon 400, the same as in 730/830 but with 80% discount. Very very fast. Size and weight, almost perfect, thin and clean. Battery life. More than a day gaming, texting and surfing. Awesome. If you look endurance rating in gsmarena, only phablets with 3500 mAh could chase it. Elegance. It's a different phone, and it's beautiful (subjective position). 128GB SD Card. Now it's very expensive, but in the future... How many songs, books, pictures, etc. could fit in this little marvel? Clearblack. Absolutely fabulous. Screen looks shiny. 4G/LTE. Web and tethering modem at the speed of light. I had a Lumia 820, and although his 1GB RAM, Glance, Flash, etc. it is no rival for the cheap and dirty 635. I also had a Moto G and an iPhone 4S, but.... Android doesn't fit with my interface experience (no unified GUI experience) and the iPhone 4S after iOS 8 is simply crap. we have got all types of phones with different tastes of people,535 has got everything but the processor is not powerful enough, so i would suggest if you are looking for selfie, camera with flash and bigger screen go for it, but if you are a gamer its interesting that even if 635 has only 512 mb ram and will not play 1 gb ram games, there are games which require a good processor as well, for example....you can try for yourself, try downloading game "dragon mania legends"in 535, it will not open up but opens and plays good in 635.....so to conclude, 635 is not such a bad phone, thought it lacks, sensors, flash and front camera.

The product manager of this phone has to be hung. This phone tried to save every penny to ruin the user experience. No LED flash, no proximity sensor. If you are on Skype you cannot hang up because it's sensing the pressure to turn off the screen!! Do not buy this phone, I'd rather throw this thing into garbage.

This is a great phone. The person who is having problems with the phone needs to have it checked - perhaps a technical fault. One other person who complained probably does not know how to use the phone; simply go to the manual or go to Youtube - they have short movie clips on its use or go to All Settings. I had the same problem. You will need to look up on the web for your carrier's APN settings and manually set them. Why it's not auto when you 1st get the phone and turn on is anyone's guess. You can set up APN in the settings menu for "Cellular + SIM" setting.

I'm a huge fan of Windows Phones. I bought the Lumia 635 three weeks ago and I've been using it a lot since then. I am really please by its performance. I've installed several apps and they all work perfectly (apps such as Facebook, Shazam, MSN weather, several games). At the beginning I had some issues since the main screen suddenly got stuck all zoomed in, but I turned off an option and this never happened again. The only thing I am rather unsatisfied with is the camera. Photos are rather blurry and unclear no matter how steady ones hands are. The camera on my former Lumia 610 was amazing comapared to this one. The 635 is easy to use, I especially love the customization of the main screen with the wallpaper in the background. I'm pleased with my choice.

I don't recommend this phone. I got it from att and it's prepaid. This phone uses up way too much data for everything. Watching videos is a bust on this. I have had cheaper smartphones that didn't give me this much grief. My hubby has my old phone and the same exact prepaid package. His works amazing. He can play games and watch videos without wasting as much data and without slowing it down. The camera on this has no flash and it's only rear facing. The apps aren't that great. No google play and now my fb has bern acting up too. Oh and sometimes the phone will turn off on it's own. It also keeps kicking me off the internet because it always has trouble loading pages. I'm very disappointed. This phone looks good and has a few good features.

Just got this phone today; amazing phone for the price and am very happy with it. TigerDirect sells the AT&T Go for $59, and it is definitely well worth it. The Microsoft Store sells the T-Mobile version for $99, and I think it's still worth it, though might not go above that. It's not at the feature level of an iphone or galaxy, but it is literally a fraction of the price of those.

Bought this to test drive the Windows platform. Actually I found the software very good for day to day use. The live tiles are fantastic to see everything at once. Anyway, the phone is great especially for the price for what you get. I have no need for a selfie cam so that was no draw back. The display is just fine. Its not of flagship quality but its very good for what it is. The texts are very clear and this display does very well in direct sunlight. Although there is a slight few second delay switching apps and loading apps I'm sure that is due to the 512 mb ram. Although it seems the Quadcore processor helps it along, its a very snappy phone and a fun phone to use. For the price its a steal. The battery life is very good. I can get close to twenty plus hours, love this. Overall, I give it 7 out of 10. I recommend a case to take care of those odd shaped edges and dropping the phone will cause the back to fall out and battery other than that, I'm glad of my purchase to try out Windows 8.1.

That is something in the software. I have developer preview on a 810 it does not work at all on mic headphones. The stock 635 has a more stable version of windows phone on it. It can still happen with mic headphones. Just restarting is the best thing you can do and did. It is just a software bug in the phones. Hopefully Microsoft will fix it in a latter update.

Has anyone had a problem with the earphone jack on the Lumia 635? I bought earphones with mic today to make calls and it seemed to have the effect of not being able to hear calls after that. I could receive the call, but couldn't hear the other person, nor could they hear me. Happened on 2 different Lumia 635 phones. I'm going to bring the earphones back, but am wondering if it's the jack that is bad or the earphones. Got the phones to work again by powering off and waiting and powering back on. Any opinions?

This is a great phone. I use it as a home mp3 play and when my other phones are charging. I have the att locked version and use a H20 sim in it. I do not have data just pay as you go talk and text. I bought a 64GB sd card for it. I have yet to add all the music to it yet. I will when I have some free time. I could not use Windows phone as a primary because I love my google apps. i had a cracked lcd screen on my lumia 635, and took it to the nokia service centre in singapore for repair on the 24th of october 2014. the girl at the service centre told me that it would be 3-5 working days for the phone to be returned. on the 28th of october, i get a sms from them, informing me that the product is not yet ready for collection. i have been following up on the status of my phone after 5 working days, and they initially told me that it would be another week. it has almost been a month, and the only answer that i get is that they dont have the spares for the product. i asked them about a time frame as to when they will get the spares, and they don't know that. can u believe this. nokia does not have spares for a recently launched product. now i know, why the company went down the drain, and had to sell it.

all nokia windows phones run smoothly, they may have cloned applications if they do not have the original one, and they all work great, the only issue is that all applications are loaded on the main memory , you may be able to put video, music , pictures and possibly some applications on micro sd card but if you are using here drive and here maps they all load up on your main memory almost fill it up if you use USA maps, so just load states that you do need or countries, the voice navigation is available but it is through here maps and then select here drive from here maps, otherwise it will not work the way you want it from here drive,you can control all the functions of the phone and they work all over the worlds of they are unlocked, the operating system is much better than android and windows is not squeezing every penny out of your pocket like apple, the phones are made of plastic they are high grade and high quality even for the phones like 635, I have dropped mine several times and did not even get nicked, some phones i have heard that have issues with charging the battery and what i have found out is that is that there may be programs overloaded or programs from android devices which are on the micro sd card if you do not reformat the card

I've had a Lumia 520 before and all I can say is that this faster and every runs smoothly, even when multitasking. However, I don't know why Microsoft had to cut features like the proximity sensor when 520 is supposed to be a lower-end budget phone than 635. I also miss the navigation bar as part of the hardware. Now with the same mount of pixels and a bigger display the screen resolution got lowered, which is a shame considering that 520's resolution was just ok. So, why the bigger, but lower-res, display if a considerable part of the screen will be occupied with keys you cannot hide? Unless you watching videos in full screen

Quite a nice phone. Running through all of my apps gives swift performance even when multitasking. MS seems to have OS optimization down pat as 512k of working ram does not slow it down. Screen resolution is ok...better than my previous Nokia 521. Battery life can go almost two days with light use. Camera performance is just average but acceptable. Getting 10 to 25 Mbps depending on location on T Mobile LTE Network. Voice comes in loud an clear. My daughters who are fans of iPhones were impressed with these Lumia gadgets.

This phone is great unless you plan on using an sd card tonight I finally foumd somethimg wrong with the phone see I have pictures that are very important to me and I keot them saved to an sd card that was in my phone and so I wanted to put these pictures on my galaxy tab so I took out the sd card and got the pictures on my tablet then put the sd card in my phone again and now all my pictures are deleted and ive never had this issue with any other phone ive used so im very pissed and plan on going back to android so this doesn't happen again...

I recommend the 635 in the lower end range. 520: 4" screen with a dual core processor, 3G 630: 4.5" screen with a quad core processor, 3G, non removable battery. 635: 4.5" screen with a quad core processor, 4G LTE, removable battery. That's the basic breakdown.BTW all processor speeds are 1.2 GHZ. I chose the 635 and I love how snappy it is.

While the 635 is a good budget phone, I actually prefer my 521. But I gave the 521 to the wife, as she isn't smartphone "smart", but she's learning. The 635 has the same RAM as the 521 at 512MB-- not 1GB.

I had been using the Nokia Lumia 636 for some time now, and oddly enough, it is a very remarkable budget phone if compared to the lower end which is 520/530. It was great to know that the 1GB RAM that I have makes me run most if not all apps, then came the news that most apps are now being optimized for 512MB RAM devices, should have gone with the 530, but no matter what I'm all loving that ClearBlack display.

Hello every body this phone is simply for pole on budget, so no fancy hardwere is put on it, to reduce its price. I use I as a normal phone usually with some WhatsApp and simple internet searches btw its super fast with its 4g connectivity, I open and watch all the vids I get from what's app n a second really no waiting to watch YouTube. Ppl are unhappy with its 512 ram! Well the iPhone 4 has the same ram!! It's working nicely everything is smooth in my Lumia 635, I haven't tried games on this phone as i am not interested in phone gaming. All in all apps are working fine, internet is fast, the camera is good when shooting in good light. I have a pro camera that's y I don't need a good cam on my phone anyway. But u can shoot documents with the phone camera and its clear. To conclude. All I wanted is 4g good processor and low price Lumia 635 got them all! Other models have better specs if u need

Well i had and iPhone 5s and decided to give the Nokia a try...ive heard a lot of good things about the phone but when I got it, I was appalled at poor it is when compared to my old iphone. The display is "foggy" and nowhere near as sharp as the iPhone. I also found that it has no front camera, which was a huge dissapointment. And finally there commercial about their AI is simply not true, Siri works just as well and is easier to use. Only took me four days to return this phone, dont waste your money.

I love my new phone (Lumina 635) I have no problems with scrolling and the interface is more user friendly than my android was. All in all a great phone for people who don't need all that extra crap. And you can"t beat the price.

Yes, maybe it.s a faulty unit. I saw it at T-Mobile store and that's where I saw the scrolling is more shaky than on 520. Anyway, I recommend 1520 to everyone as it is super fast and screen looks gorgeous. Just please make sure immediately get a screen protector because it easily scratches (it.s not faulty one, because at&t model at the store is the same).

may be your unit is a faulty one because i dont find any problem in scrolling in my lumia 635. 520 i had used before but to be honest i like 635 better. now i have only 720 and 635 with me and comparitively 720 is better in terms of screen quality and usage. i have not used 1520 so i cannot comment on that.

1) You either don't have both phones or just saying it to say something. 520 model has no scrolling lag at all and very smooth while 635 model is almost as junky and not smooth as any android phone today (including the famous note 3 junk). 2) I do have Lumia 1520 now and it's as perfect as it can get. I just hope that the horrible scrolling on 635 model is not because of windows 8.1 system (my Lumia 1520 still 8.0). I will test 1520 at AT&T store when 8.1 will become available and if I find out that scrolling issues are part of 8.1 system, then I will not update my phone to 8.1 3) To all people who think that internet will be more snappy on 635 due to LTE and quad core processor, you are wrong. The processor speed and RAM is what's more important in loading pages quicker. When my speed is 10Mbps on 520 model the pages are opening horribly slowly. When my 1520 has the same speed (only in Times Square area bytheway, because in other areas I get on average 28Mbps) the pages are loading very very fast).

The 4.5 screen must have a minimum QHD resolution today, jus like most 4.5 inches phones have. Secondary, quad core processor with only 1.2ghz speed and 512 MB RAM is useless. The LTE is going to open pages a little faster than Lumia 520 but not much because of the slow processor.

625 with 512 mb ram just as good as 635,been using since november 2013,updated to windows 8.1 and never had any problems,asphalt 8 airborne runs good on my 625 with no lags,although it does not have a compass,there is an app called ---gps info --- in store that has an integrated compass that shows direction when moving with location on,camera,very good camera flash,wifi good,and battery can be changed easily(never had to though)front camera works good with skype,lte,3g,screen shows good,cortana,calling is good,speed dial,double tap to wake,-- lumia 625 is a good buy.

I had lumia 620 and i can say 512mb is a big problem on those phones ,why ? Because of app limitation , all new apps and games on windows store are asking 1gb ram,so don't get fooled by those windows lovers .Phone with 512mb is very limited.I would never again buy those windows phones but if you want to try the os then buy the older lumia 920 with 1 gb ram.If you don't believe me then search for this and you will see even Subway Surfers need 1 gb ram.Asphalt 8 runs on very low graphic details and there is no option to change is to high or medium.And every new game or app need 1 gb ram on window store.

You don't have to worry, WP doesn't need the amount of RAM or processor power that Android does to run smoothly, for example, the lowest class WP device (the 520) also has 512MB RAM and has 1GHz Dualcore processor, Asphalt 8 runs on it smoother than on Android device with 1G RAM and 1.2GHz CPU like the Galaxy S II, actually it runs in the way it runs on the Galaxy S III so don't worry about that at all (it's just an example ofcourse).

No they're not stupid. Even though the 635 only has 512Mb ram but the WP OS optimises the ram usage so that the phone could operate big application with less or even no lagg. Samsung with Android OS did different approach to 'hide' the hang problem. They increase the amount of ram which is a bit weird as the Galaxy S4 with 2Gb ram still laggs quite often under heavy usage. Apple's previous iPhone 4 with iOS also has optimised 512Mb ram and I never heard someone said that it hangs or even a person said that iPhone is stupid enough to put small ram on it's product.

1. Windows spent 30% of their budget on optimizing WP 8.1 with 512mb. It becomes so efficent that it will run what 1Gb would be normally. Thats why they still do low end 512mb phones. The OS runs fine. iPhone has a similar ethos, the only reason android fill it with specs is because it's not optimised for a specific phone so performance varies so much. 2. Although the numbering system has gotten quite confusing with Nokia, this is NOT a replacement for the L625. This is a replacement for the 520. The level of specs is almost identical and it will be max £150 in the Uk. Not much more than what the 520 was except this phone is quad core and 4G. Nokia are clearly attacking two ends of the market first, low end and top end. (635 and 930). They will bring more models for inbetween, replacing the 820 and 625 with other models.

Yeah dual SIM is new to windows. But you have got to keep up with time. 512 is really outdated for this price tag. I windows is really easy on hardware but this won't convince most of the new comers. And don't forget even with 8.1 windows has got biggest drawback over Android, absence of file manager.

I don't understand why nokia made this phone. Its just feels line 625 with bit better chipset. Can't make much success in market with 512MB RAM. 8.1 isn't any advantage. Even 520 will have it.

I have one question for Nokia: why in the world would they launch 630 and 635 mobiles with 512 ram? Lumia 525 has 1gb! The only cons for that device is diagonal. I am waiting for a 4,5 inch display, with 1 gb ram and at least a dual core krait. Also: why doesn t Nokia or Microsoft pay some money to opera developers to hel them decide faster to make a version of their software for WP 8? I know about IE and UC browser. They are not opera ..sorry for you guys. Besides these complains, nokia phones are great, also wp 8 and the way Microsoft certifies every app in their store unlike google play, where every idiot can upload anything.

Nnkia lumia 635,630 are not so good - as skin regulation, camera, ram, size thous are not good and frond camera is missing.

It has half the RAM of the lower end 525 and smaller screen, no flash and no front camera like 625,... I'm not sure why Nokia crippled the 630 and 635 this way, but if they also plan to sell them higher than the 625 it would really be a bad idea. Oh, and the 625 takes 1080p videos with the same specs when these only manage 720p.

People are Complaining that they should have 1 GB RAM and it will be seller. These guys are not WIndows Users then. Anyone who uses windows phone has better performance then Android. It makes more efficient use of the specs than any device. I am an Andriod User and My phone lags a lot. I have never seen it lagging in Windows Phone.

Dude, did you really used Lumia 620 n L720?? Yeah, L620 has pixel density higher than 720.... But 720 had better Deep black and white levels.... So, in real life use you won't find much difference between two's displays.... And for your kind information pixel density doesn't express the quality of a display....see iPhones, they always have pixel density lower than their Samsung/LG/HTC rivals then also iPhone's display considered as one of the best in market.... So dude, don't just blindly judge a mobile on the basis of specs....see the real life use then post your opinion.... M using both L620 n L720....

Dude, it's every way better than L625 except camera flash n front camera.....L625 has Snapdragon S4 1.2GHz dual core processor and and it lacks clear black display.....on the other hand Lumia 635 has Snapdragon 400 quad core processor clocked at 1.2 GHz..... And also it has clear black display....and if you ever used clear black display then you can easily know that clear black display gives crisp n clear display with wide viewing angles.....

I think Nokia Lumia 525 would be a better choice becausa it has krait processors rather than these multiple core A7 and even the 525 had 1GB of ram.The only advantage this phone had is its clearblack display.

Nokia, am a great fan of you. Nokia is giving best hardware specs in all models except in the case of camera. surely this lumia 635 will be priced aboove 14 k. see the model is not providing secondary camera and flash and this model is only powered with 512 mb outdated ram comparing to 525 (Rs. 9800) itself. the phone has both 3g and 4g network support, we know that this is mainly for video conferencing. But without secondary camera how this is possible..? and without flash, what will be the quality of the picture at night and low light places.? so this two are just importanct facts and nokia should provide this anyway. otherwise please deduce the price tag for this type of models. Hope Nokia will fullfill our needs. :)

I find this disappointing because I was developing interest for WP. Is it to replace the Lumia 5xx series or what? Its a step backward. Lumia 620 had a front facing camera this has neither that or a flash. Plus i find the pixel density on the 720 (217ppi)very annoying as its not sharp and one can see the pixels, compared to the 620 (246ppi). This new phone is just as bad as the 720.. smh Where do we place this exactly?

This device targets lower end market. If this is priced at $150, or heck even lower, this will give a very tight competition to the what's called the 'Best budget phone of 2013', the Moto G. People should stop whining about front facing camera (only useful for video calls. Other than that, useless) and it's 512 MB RAM, because windows is more efficient. 512 MB can be equivalent to 1 GB in android.
