  • I have been using lumia 710 for some time now. It is a problematic phone indeed 1. If you switch it off, its always difficult to restart it, it takes a very long time. 2. If it switches off because the battery needs a recharge, then you are in real trouble as it may even be difficult to charge....you will not get it on....So avoid ever getting the battery flat 3. The charging system is another challenge 4. Bluetooth is just a name it does not work 5. You cannot convert to data, you have to change sim card to another phone each time you want to do this. 6. Getting a genuine replacement battery is a problem 7. As far as I am concerned it is not a good phone to buy

  • Stivovo, The little red light on your Nokia 710 is in fact a light detector. When you have your 'Brightness', check your 'Settings, set to automatic the light detector, the 'little red light', checks on surrounding light conditions and brightens your screen accordingly. As for Bluetooth Microsoft have 'Broke' it, it does NOT work. Hope this helps you my friend.

  • Don't worry mr.... There is no advanced features in windows 7.8 compared to windows 7.5 .both became same. latest applications are not there in windows 7.8. You will get same as windows 7.5.this worst phone for applications and storage.i suggest you to don't buy any Nokia or Microsoft phones in future.

  • You must check in the settings menu at settings>updates, the phone will search for an update, and will tell you when a new update is available. Then connect your phone with the pc by using the data cable and the Zune software. You can perform updates through Zune.

  • My Lumia 710 still works great and performs well as it should. Very nice phone and good size, nice screen. Battery isn't that good but at least it's removable. When using it as my daily driver I can get about a day of use from the battery with power saving mode on when it's below 20%. Camera is average but it will do for day to day usage. One thing I miss which has nothing to do with the phone itself, is Skype being discontinued by MS for WP7.8 and it's a shame really. The rest is pretty good, very cheap phone with all the functions you need. Even after a long time of use it is still smooth and fast with the OS.

Period. The phone has been with me for almost four years now and it is still performing intact. In fact, today i am updating it to windows phone 7.8 just for fun. The phone performs extremely well and is the phone which is used in my home as the daily driver. It has every major app that you are going to use on a smartphone like whatsapp, navigation etc. If you ask me, it is the perfect choice for people who look to buy smartphone without much further complication. Talking about the camera quality and video quality, it is only average. The pics and videos taken from the phone is not bad at all in any comparison. You don't need to feel ashamed of that. Another important feature to note when talking about this phone is the call quality. Even though there was some hiccups in connecting calls while i first brought this phone, it now performs smoothly without any problem and the call quality has been excellent. For quite a period of time, i have put this phone under heavy test by streaming videos and browsing web and it never disappointed me and i am very happy with the performance of the phone One thing i am disappointed in this phone is with the battery. The battery is not too great and you could just make it a day with average use. One more hiccup with the phone is that if you want to transfer files or music from your computer, it's another story. That is why i said this phone is for the people who just needs a "Simple Smartphone". So that's it guys....Thanks for reading P.S: You may think i am mad writing review for a phone released in 2011 but since i am waiting the phone to get updated to windows phone 7.8 and has nothing better to do, i thought i might do this.   • The battery is re-chargeable and also easy to replace. When travelling I bring along a second battery to ensure I have full day use when I know I will being using its camera, WiFi, and/or Bluetooth. It only delivers 10 hours of standby on a full charge if it is on Standby with WiFi and Bluetooth turned off and minimal or no media playback.

  • This is an inexpensive but sturdy phone. Yes it does not have a front facing camera and it can not be upgraded past Windows Phone 7.8. But I paid $130 for a new handset back in 2012 and it still works fine. It has a small battery which means it only gets about 10 hours on a full charge provided it is only in Standby mode with WiFi and Bluetooth turned off and not playing media.

  • it's a good phone, not the newest but it fun ions really well. Got a day of use from.the battery with 3G on and regular use of the net, apps. Screen is good too, the camera is ok, but it can record 729p which is good. Also you can remove the battery so if you carry an extra battery you can even have more than a day of full use.

  • You have to go to the store, sign in with your Windows account email address. It can be from Hotmail, outlook, live etc. as long as it's from Microsoft. Once you have signed in you are able to look and search in the store, downloading apps and install whatever you want on the phone.

  • Bad software. Good Hardware device. I Had it for 2yrs. You have to connect with your pc to upload music, change a ringtone, or even create a playlist. you have to download an app just to use a song as a ringtone. very limited uses. The navigation let me down when I was looking for a hospital.

  • As far as I know, WP7.X devices won't have Skype anymore. Microsoft stopped support for it and even pulled the app from the store. It is a bad decision but it is not going to work on any WP7.X device.

  • This is a terrible phone, any cellphone that you can wipe like you are formatting a USB flash drive is a terrible phone. i connected one using usb trying to charge it, it was brand new just a couple of hours old, it pops an error "disk must be formatted before use" i formatted and it was dead....

  • I've had my Lumia 710 for about 2 years now and I am some what satisfied with my experience. However this phone has a few problems. Sometimes the 710 will launch its speech feature at random points and this would go on for a few minutes. Also the volume would increase and decrease at random as well. I believe these are hardware problems that Nokia are aware of. In addition, the screen froze from time to time and the phone, especially the screen would heat up during prolonged use. Furthermore, after restarting the phone I was unable to access some apps for several minutes. Oh yeah, the battery life will reduce over time. Out of the box the Lumia 710 had a 3-4 days of juice. As of now, it has a battery life of 12-14 hours.

But skype cannot be installed for Canada, gmail account hard to add and Marketplace is just way more complicated to use then Google play. So my opinion is better an android phone for applications....If just for making calls then this NOKIA is good. Also upgrade to 7.8 windows took a lot of time- 1 hour.....

  • First there is no social app like what's app. No quality game available. I bought game worth 630 and what I got is baby standard game. Only thing U can do is browse but not download coz it will auto play the content but doesn't support download. Make calls send sms that's all.

But one thing pinches me, that due to no SD Card provision, I cannot down load music in the mobile and it is one of the negative impulse which I felt much. The processor is just incredible. Design is sleek and nice in my opinion. The sound quality is amazing and you do have some really great apps. This phone never hung up in 1.5 years!!! The picture quality is pretty good, especially in natural light. The wifi is really very powerful. There's nothing wrong with the Bluetooth as many users usually come up with the BT issue. The only shortfalls are that it does not have a front cam (should have been included, really), the screen size (which could have been made 4 inches) and the less than expected battery backup. You just got to know the phone well and you will be really glad to have this one in your pocket.

  • The 3G and location services have to kept off when not in use otherwise the battery can get over unexpectedly fast. Internet is quick and reliable but unfortunately not all web pages open example google maps and you have to use a client and that aspect really sucks. Camera is good. Compass is one of the big advantages of this phone and so is Nokia offline maps. Software is reliable and unique like Apple IOS but has the same number of restrictions as well. Lack of memory slot sucks. Earpiece volume not loud enough. Screen has a pale yellowish tinge. Overall a serious phone but not a fun phone but great for people who expect serious reliability and use it primarily to get the job done rather than play games.

  • This Lumia is a solid Nokia phone with a very stable Microsoft Windows OS. The design is simple, yet moves away from all the "minimalist" designs being tossed around the market today. Very portable and compact. This was a big plus for me as I could easily carry it in my vest pocket at work. The screen's very clear and getting used to the button positioning wasn't too much of a task. The only flaw in the design is that the back plate comes off too easily if the phone isn't in a fitted plastic/rubber/silicon case. As for drops, the only thing I've noticed after the dozens of drops on hard floors are small chips on the side. In regards to the phone's functionality, it runs a solid version of Microsoft's Windows OS. I've used Android before and have used the iOS on my sister's devices, and when compared with the 2, the Windows OS just slices them like a sharp blade. I've rarely experienced lags or freezes (maybe 4 times altogether in the 16 month period that I've owned this). Everything in the phone's "start" menu (if you'd like to call it that) is pretty straight forward and you will not find yourself on a quest, hunting down whatever it is that you're searching for. This little phone delivers good performance as well and wait times aren't going to be unbearable by any means. Excellent response time and smooth transitions for the most part. Internet runs well too (unless you're in a zone with no 3/4G or Wi-fi - DOH!). I'm not too familiar with Apple products' batteries, but Android batteries drain way too quick (even with power-management). This phone's battery isn't that great but within the 16 month period that I've had this phone, not once have I relied on a battery management app to save my battery. Also, with the Lumia 710, I've never been frightened by any over-heating issues (unlike my Android phone which was boiling on the 3rd day). The 5MP camera on the phone doesn't pack all that much power but it isn't utterly dreadful either. I've taken a few pictures and no matter the weather conditions, the pics have always turned out decent enough to be posted on social networking sites. So, where does this phone take the fall? Apps & Plug-In support. There aren't many apps readily for this phone. In today's age, apps and cellphone gaming are a big deal whether it's for showing off, acquiring a useful and necessary daily tool, or to conquer boredom at work. How long can one play simple puzzle or word games for? What does one do when there's nothing to do at work? How does one live without Youtube? That's right. No Youtube. Going onto YT's website brings up a big black box where the video should've been and it reads something along the lines of "Please go to Adobe's website and get yourself a Flash player". For a while, Flash did work. Then, it magically disappeared. After switching over to Android, I've noticed an immense boost up in Apps and can now kill time at work. You can still run Youtube by downloading an app, but I find it ridiculous to get a 3rd party app to watch a video on the largest Video sharing website. While I have nothing against Microsoft (in fact, I love both Microsoft & Nokia), Nokia pairing up with them was a big mistake. They should've gone for Android. Pairing up with Microsoft was what ran Nokia in to the ground (as if being slow to get in on the OS wars wasn't bad enough). All in all, if you're looking for a phone with a good build and portability, a phone with a good Operating System, a phone that can access the internet and make/receive calls & send/receive text messages, you will not be disappointed with the Nokia Lumia 710. If apps and such are your thing, this will be a poor match for you.

  • It doesnt have bluetooth as it is OS 7.5 and can be upgraded to 7.8 only. All lumias which have windows OS 8 have got an application called blueshare through which it connects to any bluetooth device. Lumia 710 has got an app called contacts transfer through which you can transfer all your contacts via bluetooth from any Nokia device.

  • @sravan, there is no front camera in this phone. I have been using it since Dec2011 and Whatsapp works fine. Extremely long msgs on whatsapp are truncated (guess you would be fedup reading the msg itself by that time) but other wise i can use whatsapp, evernote, Skype, shazam, maps, voice navigation, several emails, social media apps like Facebook, twitter, online movies, news feeds on 710. Also, my phone's OS (original 7.5 or updated 7.8) never hanged.

  • I have owned this phone for about 1,5 years now, and i must say, this is a great phone. The only problem i had with it was the dead pixel on the screen when i first got it. It does everything, i "rooted" it, i can recieve my e-mails, see all of my contacts and tweak it to my liking. Plus it's so simple. Only setbacks are the limited storage and not being able to transfer files without Zune.

Due to Microsoft outputting their dev software late for windows 7.5-8 devices it turned off the experienced developers.   • this phone is rubbish... constantly freezes & won't open up. When making a phone call the screen has been remaining black so use of keys or even to hang up is impossible. Limited memory, which has all been used & I don't seem to be able to transfer data from phone memory to sd card, resulting in being unable to upload any updates as the "you need to make more storage space" warning keeps appearing. Have always been a Nokia user but seriously thinking of ditching Nokia altogether after this.

  • I have been using nokia lumia 710 since February 2013. I have been facing issues regarding my whatsapp, I keep on getting push up notifications and whenever the sender sends a message I cant see it and also cant open it. I went to the store from I purchased the handset and informed them about the issue , they told me to uninstall the whatsapp application and re-install, I did the same ,but the problem occurred again , later on one of the store person unistalled and re-installed again , but the same problem came back. After trying for sometime the whatsapp started working. The minute I reached home I started getting the push up notifications again .. I was literally fedup. After some few months I started getting the problem again and this time the marketplace was also not working.I went to the store and before this I had visited the store thrice for the whatsapp issue but no solution was given indeed they tell me to sell off my cellphone and the best they can offer me is RS.7000/- only . When I started getting problem for the marketplace I called up the owner of the store from I purchased the handset and he asked me if the mobile was ever given for repairs? I said no , as no one had informed me about the repairs and such word was never used. I went to the concerned place(repair center) at afternoon , they took my mobile in and started with the repair ,I waited for nearly 1 1/2 hour or so and later on one of the engineer gets my handset and then I asked him if I could face the same issue again and to my surprise with great confidence the ENGINEER SAYS A BIG YES. I have never been given a solution regarding my problem ,but I am always told to sell of my cellphone for RS.7,000/- and buy a new nokia handset. why should I sell off my phone when it has not even completed a year? and why an appropriate solution is not provided by the nokia dealers? am very unhappy with the NOKIA LUMIA 710... hoping to receive a positive answer to all my questions.

  • Use airtel 3g or 2g lumia 710 works tremendously . U can use ur lumia as WiFi router and speed is amazing. Two step process. Go to settings>mobile network>on. Second turn on WiFi and internet sharing. Access from other device want to use data .using WiFi connect after search give the password ur lumia shows and it will connect in 60 seconds or less.

  • TERRIBLE PHONE EXPERIENCE! The phone itself is solid and well built, but there are so many annying little 'features' that are wrong! Consider this as a 'Feature phone' only! Definitely NOT a full smart phone! Note I had no problem with the battery, I forgot to charge one night and still managed to get a 2nd half day out of the battery. - can't save draft sms - can't view Sms and call history of a person in a single plane/screen - can't lock screen to prevent accidental touch when watching videos, - too many adds on free apps. - no preinstalled notes app - no cancel/end button - can't connect to pc as usb drive for quick file transer - can't use as a tethered modem, - etc, this list after only 3 days use!

  • I love this phone a lot cause it has solved my direction. Nokia drive is the most accurate phone I have come across. No need data network. It uses built-in GPS. Superb. The only thing I am not happy is the keyboard which is too tiny. Fingers that are fat find it difficult to touch. Otherwise I give it 95% good. Hurray Nokia keep it up.

Why so many of the user here didn't think positive. maybe they just a normal user, feel sorry to them, didn't know how to utilize this smtphone.:-P. Why not flash it with custom room. Everyone will sure love it more than android or ios. Only the space of memory/limited amount of memory that can't be discussed here due this just the midrange phone. 95% satisfied.:-). For those own this phone flash it with rainbow rom. The new and last rom was better. Get it at xda developer site. Its rock. Got live I'd blocked after flash the custom rom but activate it back after chatting with Microsoft customer service it just easy as 123 in a minute. So selfish to whom that didn't want to search and and didn't willing to learn. Just like to tick the trigger shooting nowhere and blame some else. Just think about it.

After buying in the month of Jan with in th ito care for the problems wit it's software and hardware both especially delete option not working ,ms fun going of touch screen key pad . , pictures no being uploaded on skydive . And many more . Subsequently it was sent to Nokia care for up gradation of window version . But the problem remained the same . For last three months I am severally facing a problem of call breaking , networking problem . even many a times I am not able to receive the incoming call due to malfunctioning of touch screen, the touch screen hangs up . To verify the networking problem I put the sim card in my old Nokia phone it was working fine . And the problems being faced with Lumia gone . I have already lodged the complaint with Nokia customer care . On Aug 3rd 2013 . For their attention but still awaiting their positive feedback .

The Bad Lumia 710 camera is only for short range photograph not for long distance eg. View of mountain, city or even if it's more than 7- 10 metres distance the picture will not be in details but short range( 3 metre to 1 ft or less) photographs with macro focus it was great with detail (change Lumia 710 camera setting turn contrast, normal to high and focus mode to macro).Once change the setting the yellow tint will not appear in photos capture with Lumia 710 camera. And the Ugliest Window phone market is so poor even the paid games and apps are not to the marked, poor games even low end android and IOS can crush WP with 512 Mb ram. Limited 3d games with poor 3d graphic no need for graphic acceleration on WP (both window phone 7&8)most of the game are mini,2d,retro and boards games with lot of memory ..... . So Window Phone is not recommended for gamers

  • I've had this phone for over a year. Very few complaints. Easy, simple to use. I've never had an app crash. The only time the phone required repair was when I broke the screen, and it was easy to replace the glass. The only possible complaint is battery life. You won't get a full 12 hours of heavy use out of it, that's for sure.

  • Basic net access is very fast on even weak signal strength and hardware is premium grade for price, navigation options are unique. The bad: Battery back up is worst, on screen keypad is worse as you cannot choose specific alphabets, bluetooth and wifi have serious limitations, limited apps, steep learning curve. Its good depending on what's important for you.

  • I find this phone to be a nice one. Bought it last year. the performance is nice. No hang screens or memory less kinda errors. Camera is ok, sound quality is ok. Some nice apps emulating Flashplayer are nice to watch videos. internet browsing is nice. Installed many useful apps.Nokia Map Navigation is awesome to say the least. I could impress my friends with it. On the downside, the windows live phonebook entries keeps on multiplying somehow. You have same entry so many times in one phonebook contact. No way to send user content through whatsapp. you cant attach music n all which is irritating. Cant use it freely as usb drive because it can only be accessed through zune. Messaging needs some more tweaks to delete individual messages in a thread. Many users may be find these flaws irritating. I mostly bought it to watch videos and it does its job pretty well. Overall I have had a nice working experience.

  • This is a very good phone in the price range. Good hardware and built. Everything is great but only windows has ruined it. No good apps or games in the market place. Above that the browser doesn't allow to download anything, i.e. even music and videos cannot be downloaded (except images). I'm really feeling jealous of all the android users cause they can customize their phones the way they want. I'm only urging you all not to go for windows. If you still do then personally talk to a friend about it, who has a windows experience of atleast 3-4 months

  • Its realy worst handset i have ever seen in Nokia. i have given for Nokia care for 4 times but even after replacing the handset the issue has not resolved. the issue was network drop issue, Mic issue & Battery issue. Plus: Good size/ easy to use/ good antena Minus: -Less customization/ tel number so small they can't be read/ a bit dull/ no click and drag/ Zune/ no apps or data manager -Battery life of 8h/ phone always hot for some unidentified reason/ no Bluetooth for file transfer/ -So many bugs I can't name them all: regularly restarts without reasons/ sometimes you can't answer the phone as the buttons disappear/ keep eating my credit even if I do not use the phone/ updating is at your own risk since it might crash the phone for a week before it decides to work again....... Nokia wanted to make a come back, and if the other models have the same problem I bet they won't be here long...

During sync i lost all my photos. They change the rules for downloading without informing customers. you have to always first check updates on zune s/w before doing anything on the net.   • Ok bro u gotta understand that u can't charge your phone with switch off mode.It will turn on once u put it ti charge even if u have switched it off. Now to see the battery status just go to settings there press battery saver and see ur battery % that's it.

Now press ready to accept and der press ready all set to accept..... Etc. Press it and search for d device u want to receive from. Now 1ce it is searched press it.. It will come not connected after a moment. Dont worry.Now just go back and der d fone will appear. Just press it and send it from d oder fone and make sure u dont exit d app at ant cost..   • I got this phone for both myself and my wife. The first problem we had, we couldn't transfer contacts from our old phones to 710 via Bluetooth. Java script doesn't work well. Adobe flash? Nope. Can't watch alot of vids on youtube. On some websites, links which allow users to post new comments in a thread are visible until the page fully loads, then it disappears. To post a new comment requires me to randomly tap areas on the screen hoping to get the link. This thing is sslllooowwwww!! Really slow.

Use and download apps form only nokia and windows store. Install a antivirus for widows store which comfortabs for you. In my suggest don't use kaspersky. It take so mane memory and processor. You can you a avg or another someting but not kaspersky. Download battery saver from nokia store. In windows phone no memory card. So be careful about apps and games. I use 610 game and 200 and 800 audio and 100 video songs. And my free memory 6.99 gb. I only download and install those app which have certificated.

Just press on it.It will search for devices. 5)Once u select the desired device tap on it and accept the Bluetooth code on the other fone. Then after tapping,it will show not connected. Dont worry. Just press back button and there the device will be highlighted press it and done.. 6)To receive also go to receive option in app and then again press the no devices or it will be written ready to receive files.. Press it,then choose your desired Fone and u will b able to receive it NOTE:during Bluetooth file transfer make sure you do not leave d app or else it will fail. Hope i solved ur problem pls reply... You can save pdf files on the phone but make sure that you have adobe reader installed you can get it from markketplace free. To save any documents,to your phone,you have to upload all of them to your sky drive account then go to sky drive on your phone and select save as and change location to phone. If you do not have enough speed on your phone to download that file,use your pc internet network to download,but make sure zune is running on pc at that time.

Bluetooth file sharing is available but make sure you have upgraded the os to windows phone 7.8 it allows you to share pictures and songs only and not video and docx. But the updates keep comming have patience. One can save pdf files on the phone or any other ms office file such as word excel powerpoint and you can also create it. But first you should upload all the necessary data to your skydrive accoount. Then go to skydrive app on your phone and select the file and select save as and set location as phone. In order to save pdf files,adobe reader must be installed.

  • This is the worst fone ever, I wish i didnt sell my E71 its way better than this Lumia 710. Damn I hate this fone. I know nokia to be a straigh forward fone but this one is so complicated, the battery last for two hours and many more negatives about it.

  • u gotta delete it one by one in case if u wanted to delete particular call history of ur choice.. jus tap on the phone icon(where de call history wil b displayed) in the start screen. click n hold the particular call history.. options menu wil pop up n u wil c an opt to delete dat particular call history..

  • its de same for all.. it only vibrates at first n not for the entire incoming call process... i dont think v can change it..

  • Great phone for price, custom roms available just like android. I would like to see more apps but hey that's why you root it. My last phone was a huawei u8651t for 150$ I had to root it and overcloxk CPU just so keyboard wouldn't lag. Lumia 710 200$ stock and runs extremely fast with decent screen. Gorilla glass is key for lumia 710.

  • In uc Browser you can download songs from teluguwap.net.when in settings speedmode is active.that time only you can download songs.

  • the bluetooth is working but only for contact transfering.You have to use Zune to put media into your phone.I found out this after i had bought the phone.I tried to transfer something via bluetooth but it was showing me that the bluetooth devices are not compatible or something like that.It's really sad but excluding this problem ,I think it's a pretty good smartphone.
