You clearly haven't done your research. No WP originally on 7 can go to 8.0 as they use completely different kernels. The marketplace still works, but not 100% reliable. You can still sideload XAP files. There's no need to upgrade the browser to be completely honest, it's not flawless, but it works better than an iPhone 4 or 4s.

2019 I dropped my Samsung phone so have to use again my Nokia lumia 900, unfortunately the operating system of 900 can only go up to windows 7.8 what's the problem with Microsoft that doesn't allow 900 to upgrade it into W8.0?! I hate Microsoft all they care about is marketing strategy, The Nokia itself is much durable compared to other brand of phone, and one last thing Windows Live is already discontinued? you can still download apps,make sure you sync youre microsoft account with youre phone,and keep youre connection to xbox on,it still plays up 50% of the time.also sign in with xbox or microsoft and turn youre phone on and off.microsoft really screwed this one up ,would imagine theyve lost loads of customers,windows vista ,windows xp,now windows phones ,nice to see youre loyal to youre customers,*^&%$£"*(&!!

I however found a new battery for it. it's a nokia BP-6EW 1830mAh for 10 dollars and a video on you tube how to do it. the battery is not fixed permanently and the replacement was so simple a kid could do it. anyway, good luck elephant.

I'm not sure if this is going to happen. I mean, Lumia 900 couldn't even get wp8. Anyway, it would be great, though I don't know if we should update. I still use it as 2e device and wp7 is a simple and minimalist OS (with few apps and games)

Windows 10 Mobile was said to surprisingly also come to Lumias 900, 800, 710 ans 510 with Windows 7.5 and single core. I think it's because they meet the minimum requirements of 512 MB RAM and 8 GB storage. I seriously never though Microsoft would ever do such step. Very pleased as proud Lumia 1020 owner!

Fantastic little phone, had it for two years now and use it daily as a (universally free) GPS, MP3 player and web browser. Admittedly the lack of on-going support for certain apps and the phones own OS is frustrating but honestly not so much of an issue as one would think as most day to day apps are win phone 7 compatible with the notable exception of Skype and the official youtube apps

For all of you who have problems with restart looping, turn off 3g and data connections.I did a lot of researches on the net, but i didn't find any solutions.First, i tried hard reset, but it keeps restarting.Actually, after OS booting i hadn't too much time before another restart,and menu was in Spanish.I quickly entered in settings, and set all of things on off. After that, my phone didn't restart anymore.I think it has fabric bug with network.I hope this help to someone :)

I have same problem. What you can do is cover with tape the microphone hole on the top (next to charger input)and try not have the call volume too loud (I usually set it 5/10). Or simply you can use headphones 🎧 when you receive - making a call.

Love my 900, but disappointed that it seems to have been neglected when it comes to upgrades, and does not "interface" with many apps that are of US origin. Starbucks is just one example. Load money in my Starbucks app in my phone in Canada, and as you use it the balance reduces, showing USD and not Canadian. Disappointing. At the end of the year will think about an I Phone.

However there are alternatives to access these if you are in South Africa. For vodacom download vodacom app, 8ta simple visit www.telkommobile.co.za and MTN use emdail and on your phone.On mms I haven't tried.I hope this will help you. Good day

For those with batter problems, the battery has probably gone bad. You should replace it. Keep in mind, when charging, do not unplug until the battery is 100% charges, otherwise it will degrade quickly. Also, don't charge the battery if it's above 90%, only charge it when the charge drops to below 90%

No, you can change the battery, but that requires disassembly the phone, just like almost any smartphone in these days. Check YouTube there is many tutorials.

I have the nokia lumia 900 since some months.. I got it after my Samsung Galaxy SII died.. At first i thought I would get used to it. But i still hate it, it's a complete waste of money. The phone itself is really great, but the software is crap. You can never find the apps you're looking for, some apps like facebook, have a big lack of options. Compared to android, theres so much less you can do with this phone. I'll sell it to the first idiot who's willing to buy it and i'll buy a Nexus 4.

I had this phone for a year and didn't show any problems, the WP7.8 is quite basic and there is not many apps, in the other hand is fast and fluid, if you expect to do the same stuff like in Android, forget it, the WP7.5/7.8 is not for you. Do some research before buying something. WP8 is much better, more options and apps than WP7.8 but no more than Android, but still WP8 is fast and impressive.

Never had any problems with my Lumia 900, a year with this phone and still working great, I agreed that there is not much apps in WP 7.5/7.8 comparing to iOS or Android but you can can find more apps in any WP8 phone than in WP7.5/7.8 The battery and screen problems are not OS related issues, is a hardware problem.

If you've ever owned an iPhone, then do yourself a favor and skip the Nokia Lumia 900. I sold my iPhone 4s because of bad battery life and I needed a larger screen. All during the time that I owned the iPhone, I loved it and hated Android phones even though I had never owned one. The Windows Phone (Nokia 900) is so bad that I have ordered a Samsung Note 2. The battery is no good on the 900. Having this phone for 3 days and already it won't hold a charge for very long and takes forever to get recharged. The ecosystem is so paltry compared to what else is out there. There are so few apps in the windows app place. So few customizations you can do on this phone. And if you are accustomed to how the iTunes program works, then definitely don't get this phone. Getting it to cooperate requires jumping through many hoops. At first when I got this phone I was pretty impressed with it, it gave me no problems... Lately though, it's been giving me a few problems - like the speaker went about a month ago (had to send the phone in for repairs), and now I can't even download or update apps (every time I try to download or update an app it says 'There has been a problem completing your request. I had a Nokia X6 and upgraded the moment Lumia 900 was released. However I have experienced endless problems. The screen freezes or the display goes off and even if I plug the charger in nothing happens. It couldn't be repaired so I was given another handset. I seem to be having the same problems. I have the L900 for more than a year and still works great, the fact you get a defective phone, doesn't mean the entire series is a flop. Just like the Xperia Z my brother owns, it had to be replace because of the weird artifacts in the screen, but still the Xperia Z series is great. About Nokia phones with SD card slots and batteries, the Lumia 520, 620, 720 and the 820 have those features, so read a little before ranting.

Have had it for 6 months now and certain aspects are very disappointing: the battery life's lousy and if the power gets low, the phone doesn't charge when you put it on the charger - it has to be rebooted (press volume and camera keys until phone vibrates)and then put it on the charger. The free Nokia apps are also a flop - I had the weather app and it was ok for a few months, then suddenly malfunctioned so I deleted it. Then I noticed that some of the other free apps either didn't function or had just vanished. I've had a Nokia N95 for 6 years with no problems so for me the Lumia 900's a big flop. And why on earth can't Nokia produce phones with replacable batteries and micro-card slots??? Without a replaceable battery and decent memory, this phone will be kaput while my trusty N95 is still going strong.

It is beautiful for the first time i touch. I don't have any opinions about the design. One thing i only concerned about is the battery. my Lumia 900 is about 4 days on me so and it doesn't have any videos and musics yet but still it runs out of battery even if i'm not using it. I used to charge it twice a day. ALSO it is very hard to download apps from Microsoft because it all needs a lot of requirements before you install an app.

Between those 2 phones in specs only, they are almost the same: CPU, GPU, RAM and camera. The biggest difference is the OS. Managing any Android device with ICS and only 512MB of RAM it will (Most likely) give you a slow performance and many restarts. Only with some proper custom rom could give a decent experience, but you have look for it and before that root the phone. And you have to deal to the very limited internal memory which is only 1GB. The Lumia 900 in the other hand is using WP7.8 which is some kind of dumb down version of the WP8, but it give you fast and smooth experience, keep in mind that in WP the app selection is limited comparing with Android but the basic apps are covered. There is no SD card slot but you have 16GB internal memory and no battery access. My bet is on the Lumia 900, i had that phone for 1 year and is an excellent phone, never had any problems. Now i have the L920 is much better of course, well except is quite bigger and heavy, but no so much to complain.

Now, I want to write a review and share my experience about this phone. I have been a big fan of Nokia for more than one decade. My first ever mobile phone was Nokia 3310 and I had that in year 2000. I have used Nokia 2600, 1600, N70, N97, iPhone 4S and Lumia 900 respectively after that. I will give a big kudos to Nokia for making strong phones. None of my Nokia phones ever got spoil. I lost my 3310 to armed robbers at gun point (yes, 3310 was a tech phone then), I misplaced my 2600 and I still have all the other models and they all still work up to date. I still use both N70 and N97 before I decided to upgrade my devices even though they still work fine. I bought a Samsung galaxy tab 2 7 sometimes in January, just to have a feel of android device and tablet PC generally. Although it has a full gsm/mobile phone functionality (I call it Phablet i.e. phone + tablet), I thought it is too big to be used as a phone and I decided to buy another "Smart" phone. I bought an iPhone 4S in March but iPhone is a total crap!! (It will take another long review to share my experience about iPhone). The only thing I like about iPhone is the Camera. All other features are total bullshit since iPhone is a closed garden system. Take it or leave it, it will take a long time before other vendors could match the camera quality of an iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 (both 4S and 5 have the same camera specs). Not even a Lumia 920 camera!! The only good thing about 920 camera is the low light snapshot. The normal day light snapshot, which most people use more is total bullshit compared with an iPhone 4S or 5 camera. Back to my review. Of course, it is obvious that I am not satisfied with iPhone and that got me start reviewing other phones, most especially Nokia phones because I am Nokia�s big fan and because of their long reputation of making quality devices. After a lot of reviews online, from friends and from here (gsmarena.com), I decided to buy a Lumia 900 (even though it is not a windows 8 phone). The only reason I chose Lumia 900 (even though it has lower specs compared with 920) is because of FM radio. Yes, you may think I am crazy but that is just it! I use my FM radio and no music app can replace a normal FM radio. I bought Lumia 900 2 weeks ago and I wrote about that. I criticized those saying negative comments about this phone because I thought it�s a very nice phone from my first impression and the tech reviews I have read everywhere. I did not know that those people writing negative comments about this phone are totally correct!! Sorry guys for my previous comment but you guys are totally correct! This phone called Lumia 900 (and other Lumia phones running windows phone OS) is just a f*cking stupid phone!! This phone is nothing but a big disappointment from Nokia (even though I am their big fan). My nokia N97 is 1000 times better than this phone and I will state my reasons for that. Below is my simple comparison between nokia N97 and Lumia 900. External storage/card slot N97 yes (I had 4gig memory card on it) | Lumia 900 No Internal storage N97 32 gig | Lumia 900 16gig Bluetooth N97 yes, supports anything that has Bluetooth | Lumia 900 yes but limited. Only recognizes other Lumia phones and recent Nokia models. It does not even recognize my nokia N70 (f*cking closed garden like iPhone.) USSD code (e.g. *123# for checking account balance and easy access to the network) N97 yes | Lumia 900 No (What the f~ck?) File Explorer N97 yes | Lumia 900 No. (What was Nokia thinking? You don�t even know where your files are stored) GPS N97: Drive and Walk | Lumia 900: Only Drive GPS Speed Camera Support N97 Yes | Lumia 900 No Synchronizing with PC N97 yes. Plug and play | Lumia 900 No. You can only do stuffs with Zune software. Your PC does not even recognize your phone. You can�t even copy mp3 file on your phone without this Zune software (another copy from iPhone just like crappy i-tunes) Phone Profile (Silent mode) N97 yes | Lumia 900 No. They copied iPhone Removable Battery N97 yes | Lumia 900 No. They copied iPhone Easy SIM-card removal N97 yes | Lumia 900 No. They copied iPhone Flash Player / Java N97 yes | Lumia 900 No In short, Nokia copied iPhone in most of the features in this phone (and all their other Lumia Phones running windows 7.5 and above). What is the essence of buying another iPhone (Lumia 900 and other Nokia Lumia phones) when I do not like an iPhone? So, what is smart about this phone? Absolutely nothing!! Its just a bullshit. My nokia N97 is even smarter than this as you can see above. Even Lumia 920 is not any better than this. It only has higher hardware specs. So, why will I continue suffering just because I want a Nokia phone? Fortunately, I have been using android for the past 5 months and android has all those features missing in Nokia Lumia and other windows phones. It�s been a fabulous experience with an android device. Good news Today, I bought a galaxy note II and I returned my Lumia 900 to amazon. Samsung galaxy note II is worthy to be called a smart phone. I can recommend this phone to anybody that wants to enjoy the feedom of a smart phone. Until Nokia decides to reverse to a Symbian OS or android OS, I will say hej då (meaning goodbye in Swedish) to Nokia forever. Nokia should improve their Symbian OS and make all their future devices run on that, rather than Windows Phone. In Symbian OS and Android, there is freedom. In Apple IOS and Windows Phone OS, there is no freedom!! If you want to be in a closed garden, then continue using IOS and Windows Phone OS. Love from Sweden.

Bought a brand new Lumia 900 off the shelve during a discount and paid $350 for the set. Pros: Very solid built. Good camera and LCD. Cons: Unable to sent/receive files over Bluetooth. Boring home screen with very limited customization. Crazy depreciation value. Being a Nokia supporter from the 3210, 8850, 6610, N8, E72, E6 etc... the Lumia directed me from Nokia(at least for the time being). Please bring back to earlier user friendly interface and easy connectivity of Nokia. Nokia seems to lost control on their user interface. Microsoft have truly ruined the phones with the new generation windows mobile.

Hi all for all those who experience one or other issues, just try resetting your phone. This will erase all content but can fix your problem. For those who cannot update: 7.8 roll out was held back due to some issues in live tiles. Wait for a proper update to be rolled out. In case you still want to update, turn on airplane mode and connect via zune. you shud be able to find an update. For those are facing issue with front cam switching, resetting may help. if it does nt, try flashing your device to latest version at nokia care. If not bought in India, then bad luck, you have to try it yourself as nokia care does not accept it. song downloading: you can download applications that download song (free music downloader) Video downloading: Youtube downloader app. please note: Microsoft tries everyway to stop piracy. hence it is the standard guidelines for WP app development to not support, adding the files that are downloaded (music and videos) to the music+videos library. you have to open it in the application that you used to download it. it is a platform limitation. SIM: this phone uses microsim, get one from your operator, they may choose to cut your existing sim to that size or issue a new one at a nominal fee of INR 25. 3g support: This is a 4g phone, yes, it does support 3g in india but not 4g. It supports 4g band only in US. Equalizer: WP7.x does not support equalizer., sorry.!

The only gripe is that the capacitive buttons give light bleed over the base of the amoled display...very obvious on a dark background like watching a movie in reduced light levels. You don't get this on say Galaxy s2, which is a similar device. Excluding the obvious limitations of WP, it is otherwise a nice handset. A bit heavy though, but solidly built. Not sure I would want as a primary phone, but the price has come down a lot, and for those in the UK can I see be bought at Tesco for £185.....mind you as the Galaxy S2 was only £199 with free headphones not sure this phone stacks up well against that deal.

I have this nokia and it fits me totally, but ther is a better phone in that price range and with android that is a lot better then stupid windows phones... Usually the phone will get all setup from network if the operator provides such an option. If not, just do it manually. Today I received Network setup update with settings for my 4G operator, can't wait to see what will happen next. For that Bluetooth issue, I recommend to double check if you have paired with the device you want to share those files with. Otherwise- try to reinstall that app. And later even rebooting.

HI, I have updated my L900 too, to 7.8. Bluetooth share app does not work with this update. the app say "This app is incompatible with this version of windows phone. Use zune to update to latest version". what else is there to update? god only knows :)

i was also able to force update my lumia 900 to windows 7.8. it works exactly as the site said to do it with data n wireless turned off n using zune. just one question, does this update now allow us to perform bluetooth file sharing, or are we still stuck with bluetooth that can only be used for headsets?

Yesterday successfully force-updated my Lumia 900. For how to do it use the software or read my post in comments, how to do it with Zune: This update doesn't include Bluetooth file transfer, just contact transfer in a way- from my old phone to my new Lumia (did not worked with SonyEricsson). Marketplace section "Related" crushes. Basically if you had most of Nokia apps installed as Counter, City view, Transfer etc. you ain't feel a lot of changes except start screen and icon change for games, maps and office. Google search is possible only for IE, not for search button as expected. Bing wallpaper? There was an app for that long time ago. Still no video streaming. So the only "big deal" is Start screen.

7.8 -> does not include file manager. windows phone does not have a file manager. so forget about it.. :) imagine it more like an iphone... best file manager is in Symbian. :)

win 7.8 -> available only for international version. nokia care will do it free of cost ( you will lose your data though). i saw it at nokia care centres in bangalore.. call echo issue: had taken my cell to nokia care .they refused to accept as it is not purchased in india. and finally lodged a complaint, then they called me and said min handling charges is 6000 INR excluding parts cost and they will not be responsible if the device is damaged meanwhile and cant assure of fixing the issue: figured out a work around: when someone calls u, just use volume keys and increase or decrease volume by one level, this is enough to get rid of call echo issue. the other end party might hear you very lightly.. i suggest u use a volume level of 3.

Hi, what is your exact firmware. and is it international version or AT&T version model. I still have this issue. For now, i use a headset, until i find some time to go to nearest service centre and get it repaired. I was told by nokia care that they need to send it to Delhi for getting it repaired, for which they require atleast 15 days time.

i had the echo problem myself when i bought the phone. Its a problem with the mic that is on top. i took it to service and change it with a new one. now i don't have that problem anymore. It was the only problem i had, now with this one i don't have any. i recommend to go and change your phone with a new one, maybe you will have more luck with the new one.

I have several phones at home and I don't even know which manufacturers charger is it since all have micro USB. Nokia's charger wire is too short and wire plugs out from charger (USB wire+ charger adopter). I suspect there might be a little difference between battery lasting time in using other manufacturer's charger, it's shorter, but no other issues. Actually, you can just drop all music in SkyDrive, installed on your computer and then play or download it in your device. For that you'll need windows live account and PC soft. As many networks provide unlimited internet usage (and every household have wi-fi) you can either stream your music from cloud (7GB), either download it. By the way streaming is much faster than spotify or any other music streaming app from marketplace.

I was so happy when i bought this phone,but after 2 days the problem started and it was one of the basic functions of a phone "Call quality" i couldn't hear the person calling me,at first i thought there must be some problem with the other end,but later i found out that my phone has a problem,so i took it to the nokia store from where i bought it,they asked me to visit the nokia service center,so i went there and they asked me to come after a week,although my phone was just 2 days old.After a week when i went to the service center to collect my phone,i found out that the problem was still there,those dumb ass people at the service center asked me to wait for another 10 days to get the problem fixed,but i refused and asked them to replace my phone with a new one but they bluntly refused to do so and told me that replacement can happen only within a week's time,i told them that my phone was at your service center for 7 days,but they keep on blaming me,finally i got rid of this piece of crap had to sell it for half the price,coz i had no other option left,it was really a horrible experience.Will never buy a nokia in my life again.

I've been using this phone for a month now, and has already updated the os the current latest. it's been awesome so far. i am not much into facebook and twitter anymore. but because FB and Twitter are embedded into the OS so deep, updating my status is just a breeze. camera is as expected for an 8 megapixel shooter. don't need HD quality pictures for fb, so that's no problem. BT xfer for music and files, i hope are available with the 7.8 update early next year. i was using BB 9810 before this. i am not regretting switching back to nokia. the unit does not come with free ring tones, but you can download apps that will provide you some.

Hi all, after one month of hands on, here's my thoughts on Lumia 900: Pros 1. Solid, I fumbled it when I was climbing on a staircase and it was dropping off my shirt's pocket and flipping and keeping rolling over for ten stairs. It has some bumps but really nothing happens with internals. 2. Screen is big enough, fits my hands well and I can reach anywhere with my left or right hand 3. Fast, it is very responsive to touch and the action was never late. 4. Reception and voice is good, and the ringtones are great. 5. Top banner update, cool. You can touch it and directly move to that program 6. I like Zune better than Itunes. It was easier to navigate and utilize Zune. And I like it was synch back my phone to computer. Itunes doesn't do that. I don't know how to synch my camera rolls pics from ipad/iphone to computer. 7. Not so many programs in Windows such as no instagram, no facebook (somehow it says not suitable for my phone). Something hopefully corrected: 1. when you have update from whatsapp or other chat program (new messages, etc), you get only beep and couple of seconds of notifications on top banner. But, it doesnt stick to it so if I left it for a while, I don't know which program was beeping. 2. SIM extraction module is bad, hard to use it. 3. Camera is good, but the white balance was bad. 4. The battery might not last as long as you want, but it's acceptable to re-charge once a day on active play. 5. The internet sharing was not really good, hope it will be fixed in Win 7.8. At the end, it was almost all about software, but as a hardware, this is what I call a reliable cell phone, and smart as it is.

If it was not available in the region, the marketplace should have warned so, but it didn't. Like when I tried downloading 'angry birds' from the US Marketplace, the marketplace said it was not available in the region. But for the xbox games I tried to download, there was no warning like that.

To John and jACK: I just typed 'xbox' to search on games. Mostly are published by Microsoft Studios. Some from Glu and Electronic Arts. I'm not sure if there are other publishers and what ate their names. And I already have an xbox account I set up just last month. And my location as recorded is Philippines. I don't know if Microsoft is just starting to roll out this feature, but since some Xbox games are already available on Philippine Marketplace, I believe it should have worked already. Hope the next update will fix this issue.

I finally found some Xbox games for Lumia 900 for the Philippine Marketplace.. The thing is, when I installed some Xbox apps, they don't show on the games hub. However, when I check if I could reinstall the app, marketplace says it is 'in collection'. Hoping Nokia can fix this issue.

Using the phone around a month, have found many issues. Lags with internet explorer, no flash player available, time after time screen starts to "tap" by itself on several points (on dialing pad appears 7777..., sometimes impossible to enter PIN), screen is extremely scratchy, once put it without protective film in a jacket pocket and found several scratches, upper right corner makes creaky noise when pressed, and almost all of WP7 lags have experienced. In US have red about vibration- camera issue, so far no problems with that. Everything else is ok- feels good in palm, good quality materials, nice, bright display. Battery life lasts... well I am charging it every night, in average usage, no youtube or music listening, just job- talk, mail, news. Non up-gradable to WP8. Resuming- recommend Lumia 920 instead.

I have had the Nokia Lumia for almost a month now, using it as a daily driver. First off: 1. Battery Life: Insanely good. I chat on facebook, text, call, and have two emails on push. Using the built in Social hub and just doing normal use, I easily get almost two days from the battery. You have to watch third party apps and how they run in the background in order to get this kind of life. Just fyi. Even using Navigation for three hours, I still get a full days worth of battery. 2. Offline navigation: Nokia maps is not as user friendly as google maps. However, with the different apps on it for maps, Nokia maps can be completely offline. Meaning you download the maps and then you can use gps even when you don't have a signal. It is concise, and simple and works well. 3. Sound: Very loud and crisp. Even the mics for video capture sound very well and process it without any excess. I think this is a strong point. 4. Display: Ok, I know it is less resolution than a ton of android phones. You don't normally notice it though. The screen is very vibrant and the colors are sharp and crisp. I actually am more please to look on this screen than my HTC vivid. amazing display. 5. Speed: Using the native apps, the phone functions fluidly and moves with a purpose. The coding of some third party apps makes it harder if they are not done right, and it creates a bit of hesitation. 6. Windows OS: amazing. It is a step in the right direction. Clean, simple, and it takes a bit of getting used to. Once you do though, I think a ton of people will enjoy the fresh look. Keyboard is awesome and does very well. voice Input is accurate, but I think needs more updating. Live tiles is a really good alternative to a notification bar. 7. Windows 8? Well the 900 will only get 7.8. Which is the windows 8 start screen, all the stuff that will work from windows 8 put on the nokia. That includes built in skype, more custom colors. There is not a HUGE change between 7 and 8. And apps will be designed for mango for a long time. DEvelopers will ensure the apps can be used on both platforms, and according to developers, will take little to no time to switch the app from windows 7 to 8. Just to share this info. 8 Summary: A great addition to the ecosystem of smartphones, designed for the person that wants a little simplicty and still stay in touch with all the social media. Zune does a great job of adding a sub service, and nokias customer support is amazing. For the price, it is unbeatable.

I have got the Nokia Lumia 900 2 weeks ago, impressed about the specifications of the phone as announced. Was announced as business phone and I was disappointed about the very low business options on the call features, except the Office pack, there is not any business features on it. 4 hours talking time. First problem appear 3 days before, it is impossible to use the provided wire hands free because once attached you will hear in the ear a bad noise and the sound is broken. Several times the phone started to call alone the last called number, made that until I restarted. I don�t see any Nokia traditions in this phone, now made in Korea, Nokia is far away from what the company provided as E90 Communicator, the best phone ever. I don�t recommend Lumia for business not only by a lack of such features but also very limited apps available for Windows, I will look to buy the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD.

24 hours now and still trying to charge my lumia 900 to no avail. I did twenty soft restarts, used 7 different chargers including the original that came with it. To me I don't care how nice looking the phone is or how amazing the software in it is. If one cannot get his phone recharged which is the most basic function it's disgraceful. My lumia 900 battery died last night and have been trying to have it charged in order to come back on all day. This is the second time this happens to me where when the battery is completely rained the phone will not charge or come. This is a huge issue with the lumia phones that anoxia knows and does not dare announce this fault. Disgusting and shame on you Nokia. Lumia 920 which was my next phone. I don't understand your message . It is not a rugged phone and should be used properly. Firstly I know I am not buying a rock and second I think everyone with half a brain usually uses a smartphone in a way that phones should be properly used. Why don't you spend a few minutes researching the issue of the drained battery on a lumia 900 and experience the frustration before answering. When one is in the midst of an important email and the battery dies and the the phone does not charge which is the most basic function in any phone then I want to see how you feel. I myself who stopped using Nokia many years ago took a chance on this phone and love it. I was disappointed more than angry at the phone not charging issue and when a company like NOkia is facing huge sales problems and profitability dips you would imagine they should not allow for such an issue at this stage where their whole future banks on the look of the phone and the relationship with windows.

I have used and changed dozens of phones and know how to use them perfectly. Your phone might not have an issue but I can assure you a lot of lumia 900's once the phone battery is drained were not recharging and this was confirmed to me by the Nokia shop as an issue. I have had the lumia for two months now and am quite impressed with the interface and the windows software. Decided to give up on iPhone 4s months ago and even gave up on the galaxy 3 as I am getting bored of its and android and windows provided a great alternative. Unfortunately two months later there are three important negatives that are killing it for me. 1-the lag isnthe phone accepted it in the beginning but with the daly on my message sand whatsapp is irritating me now. 2-Zune absolute failure and even if I want to use it can't get it to accept non US credit cards. 3-the phone has deteriorated after the upgrade from the keyboard where it is typing the wrong letters to slowing down the swipe on the lock screen to moving the apps up and down. 4-the final straw was today were my phone went dead and it has been on the charger for three hours but it is not charging. Unfortunately Nokia does not understand that they are now looked at as an inferior phone/product and the lumia was supposed to compete with the upper phones of htc,Samsung,and iPhone and unfortunately it is a great phone but it is still an inferior Nokia product. That's a very specific need you have there (or is it only because your daughter CAN do it that you want it?) Hmmmm, that is a bit weird.. when I downloaded and installed Whatsapp I had no problems, and Whatsapp still runs 100%. I'm taking a wild guess, but I think it could either be a faulty copy of Whatsapp that you downloaded, or, there could be fault in the Lumia you got - but that sort of thing happens with all phone manufacturers, once in a while a person will pick up a defected phone.. so, maybe try take the phone back to where you got it from and ask those people to fix it.

Can anyone please help me. I have switched to the Nokia lumia 900 which I love but when I downloaded whatsapp it says too many verification attempts and I cant get out of that mode . Tried uninstalling whatsapp several times and reinstalling it nothing. Can anyone help. I am only having this issue on the lumia not on android devices. Besides this glitch it's an awesome phone.

In my opinion this is the comment of the CENTURY, all facts and straight to the point, I couldn't have said it better myself. And if my budget allowed me to get an iPhone 4S I would get that as an extra phone, although I've never had the honor to try out iOS, it does seem very appealing - mainly because Apple didn't try to copy anyone with their OS.. so now I'm thinking of getting the Huawei Ascend P1 as an extra phone, which is a bit more affordable for me, but then I'm making sure I get Norton Anti-virus for Android.

Who needs longitude and latitude for a GPS? Nokia Drive and Nokia Maps are as good as any Garmin GPS in all other respects.. if I need people to let me know where I am I go onto the Facebook For Windows app and press the 'check in' icon. The phone number part, I know 2 people who have the Galaxy SIII and their Facebook and email contacts also got added automatically to their contact list.

This phone has not released in India yet & is already outdated. WP8 will be releasing soon & these lumia phones will not be upgraded as they all run on single core. This phone is as same as Lumia800, so why to wait till it is released. Samsung has already announced two WP8 phones. Nokia may announce it soon. I've had my Nokia Lumia 900 for about 8 weeks now. Very unhappy. First, I was looking for GPS Longitude and Latitude being displayed in their Maps or Drive installed APPs. They don't exist and Nokia says they are not there also. Hard to show where your at to others. I had to get connected to WndowsPhone Marketplace to find a seperate APP that would allow me t get the info and be able to email the info. GPSInfo did that where 2 others only allowd me to send to SMS. Second, I can't print to a wireless printer on my network, whereas my daughter can with her Android driven phone. Kokia confirms, can't be done. Third, I can directly connect my phone to a USB cable and put my photos or videoson my PC. Must use The Zune program on my PC and I don't want Zune on it. Nokia confirms that and says I can send them to SkyDrive. I don't want them there either. Forth, When I first set up my phone, I put 6 phone numbers into it. That's all I ever need on this phone. What happened next was it went and got all my Hotmail contacts and added them. I don't need all that info on my phone, only want it on my PC. What a pain. I feel I have wasted $600 for a smartphone that doesn't do what I need. Very disppointed. Goint to try and sell this phone and buy an Android based phone. Starting my search all over again.

Aahh, I've only picked up one problem with this phone - and that is with the Facebook For Windows app.. when I type a long status update or when I type a long private message to someone, sometimes it kicks me out and goes to Bing.. but then when I press the back button it takes me back to the message I was busy with and then I carry on with the message. It's real frustrating sometimes but I can bear it because I still say this is such an amazing phone.

Had the Lumia 900 for a month now. I do love the look of the phone, the feel of it, and the Facebook and picture integration into the phone makes it really amazing. Unfortunately phone companies skip making sure the simple and basic things work well and these simple things eventually kills the phone for me. The media player is really bad and lags alot till it starts. Ability to download music is limited to a few websites no music downloader app. Messages to what's app and Facebook messenger lag. I compared and had my Samsung galaxy 3 next to it which received the messages well before the lumia 900. Freezes quite often. Limited marketplace. Having to use Zune for a proper music library is not acceptable. No external storage card. For the time being I will go back to my galaxy 3 till those issues are fixed.

I love my nokia lumia 900. Happy with what it offers me and same with my iPhone 4s. Not a fan of android (iOS wannabe and king of piracy hardware and software wise from ios platform) Security, social/entertainment and reliability are my main concern with my choice. Closed system is not bad it actually offers security. My mobile is my buddy and got all important stuffs saved in it. iPhone offers me that. Good reliable standardised apps which works perfectly on all my apple devices. Internet browsing and music/videos playing are awesome. Basic fun and useful apps. How can u compare that with android? Most androi apps are not compatible with all the android devices. Android wants to do everything and that's what sucks and reliability and usefulness of the apps and the device itself is compromised. Virus issues having an open system. How can android protect you and ur data from hackers when it allows any third party apps to use its system. Virus proned mobile OS. Too many devices, to many specs that gives problem with android os and android devices some being high end and cheap ones. I don't even think its value for money. Android devices depreciates its value straight away compared with apple devices. And I think iPhone performs well as better than android. And seriously thinks no matter how android develop their devices with quad core, 1.5+ ghz processor and massive screens doesn't match what apple can offer with its more simple yet innovative approach with mobile technology. Android is just trying to be someone big and superior when quality usefullness, reliability and performance obviously is APPLE. I love iPhone though I have s2 and the lumia 900 to try. I like windows phone better than android. To some up, android is just a wanna be trying to copy apple and previous innovations of microsoft/windows. Though try said there are more people using android. It's not the numbers that count, its the quality, reliability and performance that apple offers and windows will offer soon. iPhone (IOS) and Lumia (WP7/WP8) all the way!!

For a convertee from iPhone to android and using it in the Samsung galaxy 3 I have to say that I also have been using my lumia for about three weeks and absolutely love using it. The size of the phone is perfect. The interface flawless and the integration of pictures and Facebook within the phone and into contacts and message is amazing. Tried to switch back to my galaxy s3 but after getting used to the lumia I can't. Love the software and the phone looks and feels amazing in both colors but my preference was for the white and it truly looks great.

Well it's now 3 weeks using this amazing phone and I still choose WP7 over Android - main reason now is because I found out the other day that Android is A LOT more prone to virus and spam attacks.. there's a Norton anti-virus for Android phones, but not for Windows phones, apparently viruses don't like Windows phones and iOS phones. @Sam, I agree, it really is an awesome phone, and I'm jealous you got it in white, when I got mine they only had black in store. @Lizzard, I'm not sure about Mxit, but I see it is available free to download from the Marketplace.. although I know Whatsapp runs perfectly as that's what I mainly use to text my friends and family.

I have used symbian since my first smartphone and i'm an internet addict, with symbian I can browse for 4 continuous hours at around 5MB without downloading content and with mobile data on throughout. I have the Nokia lumia 900 and the Samsung galaxy 3. If Nokia would do away with Zune and enable us to download proper mp3 downloaders and the phone would allow for an external storage card then I would opt for the Nokia. Till that happens Samsung galaxy 3 is definately the leader. iPhone 4s is so outdated that the idea for one to wait each year for a new iphone like dogs is just humiliating specially when thenlast three phones were dissapointing in features. such a shame specially with the competitiveness of the market today.

Well, it's now exactly 10 days of owning this glorious phone - and, wow. And I have to agree with 'not a fanboy', you can't compare WP to Android or to iOS, they're all different and special in their own way.. The same day I got this phone I also got my mom an Alcatel OT990 as an upgrade from her Nokia 2700 classic, and I've tried the Android OS on both her Alcatel and my brother in laws Samsung Galaxy S - I find Android to be a lot more cluttered and complicated than WP, just my 2c on Android.. The ONLY thing I have against this phone is the fact that you can't remove the memory card and put a bigger, let's say a 32 or 64 gig one in.. but I guess the average person won't fill 16gigs too quickly. Oh, @stormace, maybe that's the case with your HTC but on my Nokia there's plenty of free apps in the Marketplace.

Just bought this phone last week.. Pretty gud, simple, and fast.. I hv glaxy note and iphne4 too, well you can't compare this phone to them, each phone hv their own strong points and weakness. For me android is too complicated and iPhone is too mainstream. If Nokia develops more apps to this phone, I think it would be great.. And the camera is good.. But I expect more than that because nokia did an awesome job with n8's camera.

I recently bought the N9 in Argentina. Had a Galaxy S before and was so disappointed beacuse of the horrible battery life. Now I´m very satisied with my N9, but i´m wondering to change to a Lumia 900, which will be released here shortly. Would that be a clever desicion??

I have had the Nokia lumia 900 for a couple of months after owning a Nokia N8 since it came out in 2010. I tried the Iphone4s for a little a while and went back to me N8. I can tell you this the Lumia 900 is a great phone. The OS is great quick and simple. There is no way possible an Android is better then this phone or an Iphone. Symbian had the same layout and was just as good as Android. The camera is one thing i really miss with that the Lumia can't compare to my N8. Everything else is great. Android and Iphone are out dated OS. Time to move on! Wp8 is going to be even better with pure view camera. can't wait!

ok now, guys, Lumia 900 sports Windows Phone and is upgradable up to version 7.8 So what? I own a WP device since 2010 and has got all upgrades from 7.1 and it will also accept 7.8. 7.8 is essentially WP8. WP8 will be 100% backwards compatible. The only difference is the kernel that will make it possible to utilize multi-core CPUs SO WHAT? does this phone has multi-core CPU? NO. will this phone get all WP8 goodies? most probably YES. Believe me, get this phone, it will grow on you, and soon you will forget of all the stupid tech specs that keep you from buying it. Borrow one for a month and I guarantee you will never go back to your iphone or android. iPhone will look ancient and android a joke... It is nice, fluid, fast even on a single core CPU. It's a phone people, so stop looking for server specs for your phones... Trust me you will enjoy this one.

The software sucks and is bias. No camera extras, angry bird, plants vs zombies , Xbox companion for the Philippine market. I really regret buying this phone. I have the galaxy s3 and the lumia 900. Got rid of my iPhone 4s a while back . Both are great phones with different softwares that are also great and I enjoy both of them thoroughly. I feel if windows phones started allowing an sd card in their phones they would definately increase their market share tremendously. Forcing people to use Zune is a bit too late with the android mp3 downloads and iTunes.

Got nothing against Lumia 900, it's fantastic. But it seems to me that Nokia people still don't realize their mistakes. Can't you guys at least experiment in the market a super specs device (quad core, etc) with an unrestricted OS and the usual exceptional hardware quality? The cost is not an excuse, people would buy for any price sth that is the best of the best. Make what the people want, you cannot make the people want what you make. (and don't forget things like: deep sns integration and cloud storage are worthless, bluetooth file transfer and unrestricted installations are priceless, otherwise ... good luck!)

Lumnia 900 just got launched and failed. 7.8 wind is a facelift but its non compatible with W8 is pathetic. Actually differance would be cosmatic then Lum 910 or others would only support W9 only. Nokia was hit because it's good hardware and own software i.e. symbian. They dropped their own reliable software and tie up with microsoft, which was already not so successful. Now nokia have the same hardware quality but their software has much restrictions unlike android. So reason of failure is microsoft, not the nokia itself. Need more example? What was the need to announce that current lumia phones will not get windows 8 phone update, at the time when nokia just launched its flagship lumia 900 worldwide. I'm a happy N8 owner for more than a year and looking for some more recent phone. Lumia 900 would be my choice, but, it seems Nokia always does sth that won't let me feel satisfied. The hardware and display of lumia 900 for me is simply perfect, it looks BEAUTIFUL! Actually, most of the time the cpu is on idles. I run software that monitor my phone resources. Its purely for marketing purpose and playing complex 3D games. If you just need dual core or single which HTC XE (dual cores) or HTC XL (single core). No lag still good. Since you might prefer windows phone, wait for windows 8 as M$ may become strong in the mobile space as they did in the game console and every other industry their in. Just be prepare to pay more like xbox gold subscription to access youtube app in their xbox 360 console. Yuck! i will stay away from them...

I always wanted to purchase the Lumia 800, but I need a phone which I can use Skype, so I waited. Also because I want to see if bigger screen 900 may suit me better. After seeing the 900 in person, I do not like it, because for a phone with such a large overall dimension, the screen is consider small (only 4.3"). Phones with similar dimensions (i.e. HTC One X, Galaxy S3, LG 4X HD etc.), come with 4.7"/4.8" screen, and the 900 is much thicker too! The material used in the 800/900 feel flimsy, as I can tell from the shiny volume rockers - they feel lose, and worst of all, they have very sharp edges!!! ... I was trying out the 800 & 900 working phones; not those dummy in the store. The Lumia 800 or 900 are not cheap phones to purchase, the selling price in my country is directly competing with top line cell phones like Motorola Raza Maxx, HTC One X, GS3 etc. I'll take any of those phones mentioned above over the Lumia 900 anytime. I'm using the HTC One X, and will be picking up my GS3 in a couple of days' time. It's so sad to see that Nokia going out of cell phone business soon!? ... I used to love Nokia phones especially their high end phones. I've owned every 8 Series models Nokia produce, including the latest 8800. I even owned a Vertu constellation a few years back. Nokia phones has got the best/strongest signal reception compare to any other cell phone maker, and their speaker phones are powerful. Though in-call voice reproduction quality Motorola is still the Number One.

i think nokia N8 is the god of lumia 900. Cause in N8 it got everything like HDMI, FAST USB, espessialy dolby digital & a 12MP camera and offcourse a memmory card slot too. Nokia N8 is much better than lumia 900.

I am used to the performance of my Nokia N95 that has great microphone efficiency, consequently, my callers never have to ask me to speak louder; also the N995's strong audio output from earpiece or from its side-speakers for hands-free function, give me superb sound from my callers. Nokia used to be a king in producing phones, but will be bankrupt soon. sticking to Window maybe one reason. Window Os is not as popular as Android or ios. Now Samsung (with their android phones ) has taken Nokia's position. To me, I think if Nokia's phones have better specs and run android os (so far none), soon it will be able to be the first again. I've owned this device for about 3 weeks now; It is a clean design, STRONG, and excellent functionality. This is The best phone I've used in the last 18yrs. There are a couple minor issues with the camera quality but this is purely software related. Knowing and trusting Nokia's reputation, I expect to see an update to fix this in the near future - definitely NOT a deal breaker by any means. If you want to really enjoy using a phone again I thoroughly recommend getting a Nokia Lumia 900.
