Search Google for "nokia x2 ds root tools". You can root the phone and install google play store and services. It's free and secure. You just need a pc or laptop. Or, download king root and then search for google play store and services apk files manually from the web. You can then enjoy the full power of the phone. I recommend searching for the best apps to use after rooting the device, it's gonna be fun! Already had that phone in 2016 and used for a full year, before droping it accidentally from the 4th storey!

This is the best phone for everything especially for music except CAMERA. The best thing of this phone is it is better than all other phones such as samsung , sony,Oppo,Vivo etc because it never hangs.I have only 200-250 mb space free but it works very well.

Completely agree with you. Solid build quality. Fell a dozen times, but not even a scratch. Looks great. Tough glass from corner to corner. Never hanged. I'm a heavy user. Played large games. Installed 70 apps. Superb performance. I browse 4-6 hours a day. Battery full day daily. When on only calls it lasts for 2-3 days. Never heated, even if my HOTSPOT is always ON because I'm on a 2gb/day plan. Display technology is CLEAR BLACK, better than IPS LCD. The only con is average photo quality. Wait, it records wonderful HD videos.

I have nokia x2ds for 3 years.and i want to share my experince of my sweet nokia. 1.go on And find nokia tools and download it. All methods to root and install google play and any thing other you can find it. You can find custom roms and all things you need to install.it is very easy. My rom is nokexperia v1.1 based on stock 2.1.0.13 And this rom has xperia luncher. After root install xposed framwork and you can tweak nokia x2ds .

My suggestion is to use a custom ROM. I'm using Cyanogenmod 11 (4.4 KitKat) and the audio quality is now much more superior than the stock one. Sure, the apps will now be stored in the tiny internal memory with no option to move to external memory but it's worth the tradeoff in my opinion.

The phone is working very smoothly. Battery backup is also very good till now. The only negative sides of this phone are its camera and music quality....not so good as nokia actually provides. Please note double tap wake up works when phone is locked and/or when the screen is off. Make sure that you switch ON the feature "Screen Double Tap" under Display Settings. ----- Now, TAP TWICE on the backside of phone (preferably center) using your NAILS. ----- Why so? Because on the front, Nokia x2 is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass as an ADDITIONAL LAYER covering the whole front side, NOT JUST THE SCREEN. And on the back, it is protected by a hard & durable backcover shell which is very useful when phone falls. This design makes it solid and tough. Nokia devices are known for BUILD QUALITY. Thus the phone is not compacted/compressed so as to register your touches instead of nails for double tap. If you remove the back cover you'll notice that the phone appears to be very slim & bezels to be very less, which definitely makes it look worth 5 times it's cost.

Go to xda developer website.then development section.. there you will find nokia x2untouched stock rom.then download that Rom and flash it.But it's version is 2.1.0.13 .Its orginal rom bt may be other region version.like in India it's 2.1.0.12 ....so u can try that rom.

Nokia X2DS is draining battery really fast when Nokia X Software Platform is running in the background. I have noticed this issue in the past too. It starts running in background itself and drains battery a lot. It is also using lots of data. Almost 1MB was sent and 13 MB was received. How to stop this? Why is it inactive most of the time and starts running itself and drains battery like this?

You have to first enable devloper option... First go to settings then about device then click on nokia x2 version 6-7 times..version means 2.1.0.2 or some thing like that....after eneble devloper option in setting open devloper option and click on eneble debugging or android debugging like that...there after ur computer can detect yr device.And try in windows 7 or below windows 7 version. Because I heard from some one that windows 10 is not detecting any mob... Have a good day

Do a factory reset and your problem will solve..mine also battery drops by 3%-5% over night...thats ok..bt don't know whats yr problem...may be some background task are ongoing..and you can also check which app is eating your battery in battery section...or you can download "shutapp" application for shutdown background apps so that your battery will last longer.Don't believe any type of battery doctor or battery saver type apps......... Conclusion is factory reset your mobile and your problem will be gone. Download 1mobile. It is good app store with most of the latest apps but google apps and some other apps may not work although it is present there. You will get notification on which apps are compatible by the way while downloading.

It might have been because of faulty battery. Mine gave 6 hours+ when it was new and now gives around 4.5+ hours when used continuously for browsing internet and playing some games after a year. May be some app was using too much memory. Back camera is okay for 5mp. But front camera is really bad. I guess they just wanted it to make it for skype video calls instead of taking selfies.

Depends upon what price you are buying it. I don't know it's market rate right now but if it's price is similar to when it was launched, then you shouldn't buy it. It is almost 2 year old model and there are other latest phones with latest software which you can buy. By the way, it is a good phone although it lacks google services. If you are getting it for lower price, you can consider it.

I played a lot of games, downloaded a lot of Apps though some Apps or games is not working due to compatibility issues of the android version. It has a good but not that excellent camera/video quality except for the front camera which is a VGA type which is very poor,, ^_^ what I like is, when I compare this to a Samsung Galaxy S Duos 2 phone.. when you connect/drive the Samsung duo phone on a stereo/speaker, the bass is very poor unlike with Nokia x2 that has a great quality of music to play with your Mp3s.. Well, as of the old nokia phones, they really have a good quality when it comes on playing MP3s.. (^^,)

There are many flaws as many people pointed out. The lack of the capability of installing the play store is probably the main one. However, you can't even install the youtube app because it requires google services ( which you can't install) . In essence, without rooting and flashing some software to the phone , its just about useless. There are some simple things that may the phone easier to use without rooting. First, install a new home replacement like Go launcher ex or ics 4.0 launcher. Second, get UC browser which will allow you to play and download youtube. Aptoide is also a good app to obtain some apps , but its nowhere as good as the play store. Swiftkey keyboard is a must becuase the original keyboard just sucks. Programs like showbox and kodi work fine. If you have an option to buy this one, I would avoid it. There are many better phones for the same price point ( moto g).

I think this phone will look cool if you use Z launcher. The default launcher is very basic. I thought it looked nice at first (Windows Phone look in android) but default launcher is very limited and boring. Also, it is embarrassing when people think it is fake windows phone. LOL. After using Z launcher, phone looks awesome.

I think this has to do with messaging settings rather than phone's fault. I recently deleted my mms settings from phone and the messaging app has stopped turning on by itself in background and have helped regain some of my phone's battery life. I am not sure if it is proper solution but it is working for me till now.

Recently, I've noticed that messaging app is draining lots of battery. It is always consuming 15%+ battery without even being used. That is lots of battery drain. It has affected battery life by almost 1 hour. I've tried closing the app from app manager but it opens itself later. Sometimes, it seems to be inactive by itself. Does anyone know how to solve this? How to get it to run and become active only when it is required and not all the time?

You need to root your phone to install google play store. If you don't want to root, you can use 1mobile app store. It is good option.

Hey....i have installed google apps witout rooting and it works fantastic w/o any problems.....just go to YouTube and watch tecnokia videos....he uploads vidoes of only x2 upgrades...try it....its safe....now i can use all google apps....and even the playstore is working fine...that too w/o rooting....

Texting is awesome on this phone, trust me on this, it's just really easy and smooth. One other thing is that my phone falls ALL THE TIME and it still the same as it was when I bought it. One time, I was watching youtube and it fell on some tiles but the video still kept playing like nothing happened. So if you want really great build quality, this is a great choice.

Not a good phone at all. Here are the limitations of this phone - 1. It does not support any Google Play service due to which most of the essential games and apps cannot be run. 2. its camera quality is not so good, having only 5MP and 2MP front camera. 3. in reality, most of the nokia x2 phones doesnot have 4GB internal memory, whereas they have 2.3GB of internal memory. Also nowadays 4GB memory is not sufficient. 4. this phone does not have its own video player, applications (like stopwatch, timer) , file explorer, etc. which you will need to download. the range of this phone is about Rs. 5000 - Rs. 7500 on flipkart. So according to me you should buy another phone like yuphoria, redmi 2 , etc. which will be loaded with all the essential application as stated above. But after rooting this phone will overcome with all these exceptions, which is a very difficult process.

The phone is a nice smart one. But my problem is only one, that's because the touch is integrated, if the screen get broken u can't use it again. So I will wish if it also put into consideration. So that if the unexpected happens like that, you can use the phone. Comparing to other phones, if the glass is broken u can use it until u changes the screen. You can actually install google play store and google play services on this phone using nokia x tools. I've had this phone since february, the camera sucks, especially the front cam. For really heavy users, it's not the ideal phone for you. If you want a phone that is very sturdy, this is it. Dropped this A LOT of times; it even fell on a rock face first and didn't even damage the screen. Even if I want to have a phone with great specs, I still really love this phone. It gets the job done. For me though, the thing I would like to add to this phone is a document viewer because it doesn't have one built in.

Sorry for discontinued review. But now continues my review, after copying gmscore.apk u have playservices installed & it wl never update itself. If u r facing playatore no connection error after each phone restart then just remove google accnt from settings each time & open play store & login again & it wl work. No need to repeatedly install play store & services.to remove google accnt go to setting then google blue colour link then click on ur gmail link then on next page drag option menu present below & remove google accnt. Nokia X2 is a superb phone which is compatible with all the android apps. The build , design all just excellent. Cons : 1) You will not be able to install apps from google play directly.( To install google play need to root the phone which is not a recommend practice) Solution : For most of the common apps APK files are available. You can either download the file in pc and transfer it to phone or download apk files using browser and install same like we do for windows PC's.

I think double tap sensor is located at upper left corner of the phone.(under nokia name). If u double tap around that area, even soft double tapping also working.

Hi Friends, After using XL and X2 for 1 Year, here my comments. Its worst if you think you are buying any android phone. It does not support Google play so no market. But you can use 1Mobile market to download all your apps. Whats app is working fine in both the phone if you download it from 1 market. I have observed 80% success rate in running games which I have downloaded from 1 mobile market. So if you have 1 mobile market you don't need google play store. Read instruction carefully in 1mobile market as there are some tricks to run those apps on XL and X2. I hope my post is helpful to you all. Thanks. . .

my nokia x2 works very well...I got play store on my x2 and now it completely salute me in all android apps...now heating problems is just a part of this phone...specially when you turn it on in mobile data connection it will start heating up but likewise try to connect on wifi to prevent it from heating.. their are countries which this device doesn't work accordingly or shall I say some apps doesn't work just like MIX RADIO...but since I got play store I sagest to download google music and goes fine along the way...everytime I want it..

Got this unit RM 1013 dual SIM with 2.1.0.11 version. (there is no 2.1.0.12/13 upgrades for USA and they are not needed in USA). Got it rooted fine and all works fine. except that on ATT in US calls gets dropped. (I live in the hills) Always first call dropped. This Nokia X2 can not hook up to ATT microcell tower either. Also there is an option to use SIM in 3G mode - this 3G mode never works! I can not figure out why it is not working but effectively my phone is 2G and GSM only. The GSM/WCDMA option is just a pretty picture - WCDMA (which should include 3G by default!) is not doing 3G for fact. will be ditching this model and reverting back to N9 (simple nice linux phone).

Try network testing from Opera mini. It works for me when Opera mini doesn't connect to the Internet.

Most of the games and apps can be moved to sd card without rooted, for that go to phone settings>apps, select single app,then move to sd card option will be displayed,, some apps does Not support moving to sd card option

That is not problem. thas's normal of storage memory on a smartphone. I had LUmia 520 which has 8GB memory storage, in the fact, when i saw the memory storage, the memory internal is around 4gb free. Sorry for my bad English

There is a way to download original APK files of Apps/games from Google Play Store. Google search 'Techprobex+APK' on a computer. Follow the instructions to download apps/games. Then copy paste APK files to your mobile. Most of the apps/games could be installed in nokia x2ds. Very few apps/games does not work in the mobile due to lack of playstore. There are third party android apos stores, but i personally don't prefer to download apps from them.

May be some app is creating more heat. I once downloaded 'Opera-Max' app from opera store. It started heating my mobile. I deleted that app and my mobile became normal. Now no unusual heating of the mobile.
