ZTE Axon 9 Pro - User Reviews

  • Come on ZTE! Give us new updates to this great phone! Great hardware, bad support! ZTE wake up from your coma!

  • I bought this phone (A2019G) last month, ZTE is a pretty bad company when it comes to updates. There is some kind of battery drainage in latest firmware (PIE) with July security patches 2019. ZTE Wake up it is soon 2020. ZTE, make your phones great again!

  • 280 now for 6gb 64g version on ali express.

  • Honestly the Axon series died with the Axon 7. No front speakers, notch and top of it cost double that what always used to cost.

  • Nice phone but too expensive nearly twice the price compare to pocophone and Xiaomi MI8 for 2 or 3 features more.

  • no this bad not have 3.5

  • I think it is good

  • On YouTube are a lot of reviews in german about axon 9 pro but almost everyone give the same conclusions that the phone is not worthing 649 euro maybe at 400 euro it will be a good investment

  • Axon 9 pro is available already in Germany 649 💶 by saturn but is overpriced and is not what we expect for axon 7 evolution, axon 9 pro is another all glass phone with nothing special I think xiaomi black shark hello is the best solution for axon7 fans it has front stereo firing speakers nice back amoled display and indeed is an original phone the same axon7 was at this release time

  • The phone actually releases to consumers on December 10, 2018. So in a couple of days from now you'll see many youtubers holding and giving a full review of the ZTE AXON 9 PRO.

  • Any chance we'll see a review of the ZTE Axon 9 Pro anytime soon?

  • What time will release Axon 9? I am tired because of waiting.

  • You're welcome. It's even the 8GB/256GB version.

  • better than poco & oneplus T ? how about the price...

  • Announced August but when we see the mobile no one knows. At the beginning was September, now November , ... in fact next year or at all.

  • Axon 9 is way better than Pocophone and OnePlus 6T. It has hdr screen, Ip68, stereo speakers,

  • I watch the unboxing just now, the company have included dongle in box so don't be worry

  • For the price for euros is 499.74, for usd is 577.71 and for uk is 440.03

  • They put the headphone jack to type-c

  • Actually the real price they set at 499.74 euros

  • the guts to include a dolby atmos whatever...when they couldn't egen put a jack and just include dongle instead

  • That 60fps video and game upscaling looks dope, though...

  • no real reason for change your axon 7 you have like me to this phone but if the proce go down to 330 yes

  • pls cancel this cancer phone, learn from VIVO NEX/LGv30.

  • It's downgrading to a 1080p screen, USB 2.0 and no headphone jack. It has no unique feature at all. Camera is still rubbish. Unless you absolutely need the 845, I don't think there is a reason to buy it. But even for that there are cheaper options.

  • As an Axon 7 user i can tell you I have been waiting for this device to be released for way to long. But as it is I think I will be passing if the estimated price is correct. There are to many other "flagship" devices being released at a much better price point with the same if not better specs(Pocophone F1 and many others). It feels like ZTE is trying to recoup some of the money they lost during their forced shutdown. I will be looking elsewhere for my next device. Don't try to rob consumers to make up for your mistakes.

  • No headphone jack. Too bad.

  • Well yes maybe. Nut i like movies on bigger screens. At home i have 42 and 60 inch TV. But cinema is cinema. 4K video with dolby atmos or even 8K. I mean highest available quality which you can get from cinema movie.

  • Probably. Still, it sounds really cool though and would make for a great cinema watching

  • Well maybe but that difference is not that big. All depends on video you watching. If you watching a 4k video on a budget phone or a Z5 premium the difference is maybe big. But watching on budget phone or Z5 premium a low quality video like 144p anything from youtube the experience would be pretty same i think.

  • I don't like notch, so i use 5t instead of op6. Axon9 is nice but notch so still NO

  • Don't matter ,I've held a 4k Z5 Premium before and I totally saw that difference. Plus, it just kinda sounds cool XD

  • Well its a decent phone but compared to Poco is 350 euros more expensive. Bad move.

  • Man on such small screen you wont spot much diferences.

  • OMG, that would be awesome. A 4k, 60 Hz, Bravia POLED display with the front-facing stereo speakers makes it a movie watching dream

  • hmmmmm. with 650 euro price that is too much from a not well known company like ZTE. WOW sorry no sales they will flop

  • I dunno, this looks pretty good. Not really a fan of the notch, and there's no headphone jack, but the rest looks good. Stock Android, 6 gigs of RAM, big battery, wide angle camera... Looks good to me.

  • I agree with you. Overall they did a good job. I wonder how big the XZ3 Premium will be, if this has 6 inches. Maybe it will have a 6.3 inches 4k display, and with smaller bezels than the XZ3. Who knows, they might do this.

  • True, though I think some people will appreciate the symmetrical look and front facing stereo system

  • It looks great, but it is bigger than this one, and this even has a bigger display.

  • Great specs, waterproof, pure android. BUT no mini-jack :D

  • No headphone jack = No buy.

  • I don't know, Sony's XZ3 looks pretty sweet

  • Doesn't it have stock Android though?

  • If you see how the Chinese market is progressing, soon all phones are going to have a slider

  • May God curse that day when Apple introduced the Notch disease! It’s like incurable disease now and it Must be eradicated ones and for good.

  • Interesting specs no headphone jack, and a notch deal breakers for me nope, I missed the Axon 7, hoping it will be launched here in the U.S.

  • The axon 7 was soo beautiful and had character. This phone with its ugly notch looks like all the other bricks with notches. Very boring. No matter what technic is inside. Notchnphones look depressing.

  • poco its just 315$

  • All they had to do was make an android one axon 7! You had one job zte. you had one job....

  • No audio jack? ZTE are you mad?

  • look! another Ishit! this time with ZTE logo on! Disgraceful!

  • Perfect specs Even Android One and 4000mah battery, so it should remain good device even after few years If I were ZTE I would go agressively with the price.. €499 Just use the hype which i think will happen with this phone and greatly improve brand image in expanse of some profit... the move would repay in soon future Specs are perfect, but in a few months when the price drops, who knows if these kinds of phones are still gonna be relevant and if they can sell The only time you can make impact is now!

  • why does it look so ugly? ugly color too

  • It has perfect specs.. even android one..if zte have gone agressively with price, 500€, they would kill

  • No 3.5mm headphone jack? Again, another fail. Axon 7 is ashamed.

  • This is a good phone, and I am glad it is not that huge, though the screen is big. Take that Sony!

  • yes the photos don't match at all, the one in the gallery is less attractive for me than the one on the news page

  • the gallery image doesnt match

  • Font firing stereo speakers?

  • IP68?

  • Your point?

  • If the buttons are on the screen or on the bezel, both are capacitive, except for those with mechanical buttons for Home button(like Samsung). There are only two types of touch input used for phone - the old resistive(now obsolete), and the new capacitive(used in all phones for some years now). So the capacitive layer used for input cover the screen and also the navigational buttons to register commands.

  • Finally it' coming on IFA event

  • I have a LG V20 with a 6400 mAhr battery with otterbox case on it, modified to fit it. Two days easy three if I don't use much than phone calls and 50% brightness and emails, texts.

  • For a phone that is going to be less than the V30, why do you expect it to be better. Curb your expectations, it just needs to be as good

  • Did you get that idea from Mr whosetheboss? Cuz if so, hello fellow viewer

  • Name one flagship phone with more than 4000 mah battery. Battery isn't everything and they need space for fingerprint scanner and cameras

  • It's a flagship killer, meaning is supposed to be low priced. That said, it would be around 500 dollars. That means you get a good camera. Might not be the best, but will be pretty good nonetheless

  • Indeed, these are pretty good specs, though I don't know if they can get all that fir less than 600$

  • I sent an e-mail to ZTE headquarters with an idea. I know they got hit with the massive fine China bailed them out on but I told them about crowd-funding the Axon 9 and Axon 9 Pro as follows: ZTE Axon 9 -5.2" Super AMOLED 2280x1080 display with 402ppi; 80% screen-to-body ratio; 16M colors -Corning Gorilla Glass 4 or 5 with Uni-metal design (a la Axon 7) -Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 and Octa-core CPU -All GSM bands with CDMA BC0/BC1/CDMA2000 1xEV-DO -LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/14/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30/32/34/38/39/40/41/66/71 (making it worldwide) -IP57 Splashproof -MIL-STD-810G compliant -Android 8.0 -Hybrid Dual SIM; up to 256GB for MicroSD; allows VoLTE for both SIM slots -4GB RAM version along with a 6GB RAM version -64GB ROM version (with the 4GB RAM) with 128 GB (with the 6GB RAM) -Primary camera: Dual 20MP (f1.7)+ 12 MP (f2.4; wide or telephoto) with OIS and Bokeh effect. Also with up to 4K60fps recording with HDR -Secondary Camera: 12MP with 1080p60fps recording -Front-Facing Stereo Speakers (a la ZTE Axon 7); Dolby Atmos -Headphone Jack with Quad DAC; 32-bit music playback with 24-bit recording using an extra mic next to the headphone jack and on the top of the phone; parallel. -Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with Bluetooth 5.0 -IR Blaster -USB 3.0 Type C; QuickCharge 4.0 -Fingerprint Sensor on the back of the phone (I'd like inside the display but they might not have the resources right now to do it) -3,400mAH battery -in Deep Black or Gold ZTE Axon 9 Pro -6.0" Super AMOLED 2960x1440 display with 549ppi; 80% screen-to-body ratio; 16M colors -Corning Gorilla Glass 4 or 5 with Uni-metal design (a la Axon 7) -Snapdragon 845 with Adreno 630 and Octa-core CPU -All GSM bands with CDMA BC0/BC1/CDMA2000 1xEV-DO -LTE: 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/12/13/14/17/18/19/20/25/26/28/29/30/32/34/38/39/40/41/66/71 (making it worldwide) -IP67 Dustproof/Waterproof -MIL-STD-810G compliant -Android 8.0 -Hybrid Dual SIM; up to 256GB for MicroSD; allows VoLTE for both SIM slots -6GB RAM version along with a 8GB RAM version -128GB ROM for both versions -Primary camera: Dual 20MP (f1.7)+ 12 MP (f2.4; wide or telephoto) with OIS and Bokeh effect. Also with up to 4K60fps recording with HDR -Secondary Camera: Dual 12MP(f2.0) + 12MP (f2.4; wide angle) with 1080p60fps recording -Front-Facing Stereo Speakers (a la ZTE Axon 7); Dolby Atmos -Headphone Jack with Quad DAC; 32-bit music playback with 24-bit recording using an extra mic next to the headphone jack and on the top of the phone; parallel. -Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac with Bluetooth 5.0 -IR Blaster -USB 3.0 Type C; QuickCharge 4.0 -Fingerprint Sensor on the back of the phone -3,850mAH battery -in Deep Black or Gold With the kickstarter, they can add petitions to get Sprint and Verizon to allow it on the CDMA networks and add another petition to allow the phone on GoogleFi. You guys never know! This year sucks for smartphones (especially with the recent notch reveal of the Pixel 3 XL) so this would be a great turnaround!

  • What is that on the back? Whatever is it is, should better be ventilation holes like on the Red Magic. This better be a fake leak. How can you go from having the best speakers on the market to having a single mono speaker on the back?

  • What about T-Mobile?

  • It's a real shame if that's what it looks like. They got rid of the stereo speakers which I loved, and then they kept the capacitative buttons which is probably what I hate the most about the 7.

  • They're one of the only brands to offer unlimited international calls to China (for my wife). Verizon only does 1,000 minutes and AT&T charges you by the minute. Plus, Sprint Service is actually good here in Florida.

  • Please retain front stereo speakers and a superb cam to challenge top notch phone with optical zoom maybe?

  • Is ZTE ditching that awesome stereo sound?

  • Hi! Some suggestions for ZTE engineers: 1. Please use Leica three-Camera just like Huawei P20; 2.Give more attention on battery capacity, many other phones has 4000+; 3. Provide update quickly. Thanks!

  • Just curious, why do you want Sprint service?

  • If they get rid of front-facing speakers they're done for. They won't be able to recover from losses and will die out (unless they come out with Axon 7+ haha). Ofc that's only if they're stupid enough to remove front-facing speakers. What people want is just another budget phone with updated specs but have the same exterior and mapping. Basically just give us an Axon 7+ (bigger screen and better specs) and ppl will love it. OS is great, design is great, build is great, speakers are great, but the chipset is outdated, camera needs work, and the ram, battery, button placement, and front-facing camera could be better.

  • GIVE US better dac than LG v30

  • Even if that were true, with all these stupid notch phones, we'd actually be ok with this as long as it had stereo speakers. Lol. It looks good but if they make an Axon phone like this but with front-facing speakers, IR blaster, and every LTE band known to man, I'm jumping in day 1.

  • Found another site that debunked this as the New Axon 9....site states that a user photo shopped the Axon lettering onto a forthcoming ZTE ZMAX phone. Do not believe that ZTE will break the current design language with front facing speakers,as too many consumers who have bought the Axon series are into audiophile audio based around a quality DAC with front facing speakers, flagship specs and reasonable (midrange) prices. ZTE has an extensive amount of data from the people who buy their phones from the ZTE USA forum and European forums.....they know what we want.

  • The capacitive buttons on the Axon 7 suck. Can't wait for their Oreo ROM so I can use on-screen buttons.

  • Unless the Pixel 3 XL catches my eye, even if it has the subwoofer speaker on the bottom, as long as it has stereo speakers, I'll jump in. I just hope Sprint doesn't screw up again and actually allow this phone to be on their network; no matter what the ancient goons at the government say.

  • QUAD DOBLY FRONT SPEAKERS... on the top and bottom corners if it cant fit in front

  • I agree completely. The front facing makes it even better and also a decent dac

  • The axon 7 was a classic. Great design ( inspired by HTC). This looks outdated design especially the curves makes it look old like 2012 smartphones.

  • I hope they put Qi in it! I'd love Qi! If they manage that and the bands/cam are suitable, I'd be very, very interested. They'll have to release soon though - I've got the Oneplus 6 on my list if nothing else comes along with a concrete date before then.,

  • Camera cant be 20 + 20. SD845 allows up to 32MP ( 32 front and 32 rear)

  • Well i agree with you. Some companies offer far less for same or even higher price.

  • *Facepalm* I am not comparing those 2 phones specs i am telling you their price. I am saying that you can't expect more than 600$ for this phone while other companies for that amount of money offer far less.

  • I love my Axon7. Why?. Dolby Atmos on front stereo speakers, on very good overall phone, if the new Axon9 don't have a front stero speakers, forget ZTE, don't buy.

  • Removed front speakers? What a shame.

  • And there goes the front Dolby Atmos Speakers! Oh well............

  • I agree. That was among the top selling points. I hope they don't lose the Dolby atmos either. And keep the headphone jack.

  • Finally, a bezelless phone with capacitive touch, now I'm tempted to buy this to replace my galaxy s7 edge.

  • Wow nice phone

  • A8 plus cost more money than 600 where A8 cost around 500 and we cant compare this two. A8 is a mid rnger where Axon 9 is a flagship. At least it will cost less than new S9.

  • I know that but anyway even a rumour can bright the light in people. This one shows only his dark side.

  • Apple? No i wont switch android for apple no matter what. Did it once when Apple 6 was new back in 2012 and came back in 3 months. That horrible company have no chance in me.

  • If the render is correct then I'd totally buy this Phone, that nice of a screen to body ratio with of screen buttons under the display is just fantastic.

  • All facts

  • Most people have 2 good ears and can hear in stereo, why the hell would you not have stereo speakers considering it was one of the biggest selling points of the Axon 7

  • Removing the stereo speakers was a stupid idea....I was going to go for this phone but they screwed it up. Oh well. Waiting to see what the Note 9, Pixel 3 XL, and OnePlus 6 unfold.

  • Apple's software comes like that,it's his own UI,Moto has stock android.Stick to ZTE,your intelligence doesn't need another phone :)

  • Samsung A8 vs Zte Axon 9 same price and you expect more than 512 GB (256x2) for 600$ ? The fk

  • this is rumor not all features listed

  • If no front facing stereo speakers = no buy

  • if this is true i will not jump from axon 7 do 9. no hell way

  • if this is true i will not jump from axon 7 do 9. no hell way

  • Looks not good..

  • then get an iPhone X or an iPhone 8 if you get too little for 600euro, i really hope you are joking, else you are....

  • For 600 eur i was expecting a lot more from this phone than i see now :-)

  • Man from when Moto have bloatware? It uses pure android wake up. Apart from settings and google play icon and maybe facebook you have nothing else inside the phone.

  • I have the Axon 7 Premium edition with the 6GB RAM. Fantastic phone. Not bogged down at all with manufacturer bloatware like Samsung, Moto, LG, Apple, etc., Anxious to get my hands on this successor!
