Hi ! I just bought a Nokia X5 Dual SIM and i am facing a problem i never faced with phone in my life.The problem is that the screen is too hard and when you i type on the keypads,it takes long while to respond.Because of that i have a difficulty to pick calls. The battery does not last at least three hours whenever i charge fully.Please i really need your help, or i should drop it down somewhere and purchase another one. Okay so now that I've owned this phone for 2 years, I know what to say. First of all, it looks really cute. Some might disagree, but for the most part all those who I've shown the phone to think it's cute (especially the ladies hehehe). Functionally, though, IT SUCKS. Symbian OS 9.3 supports like no apps and if you're looking to play video games on it, yeah get a typical smart phone (Samsung or iPhone). As well, the notifications for the texts glitch easily once you have a large number of texts on the phone, sometimes the notifications disappear and until you delete a large number of them off the phone and restart it, will notifications return. As well, my particular phone seems to have a wonky upper speaker, because I and friends who borrowed my phone to call people have found that the sound, even on maximum, is too quiet. The media player is as how I expected it, and the camera takes decent photos (better than the camera in my 4th gen iPod Touch). Also I find the phone quite heavy for its size, it's like a little square brick :P If you're just looking for a basic feature phone with a QWERTY keyboard, I guess you can go for this. But I don't really suggest it for someone who wants a real smartphone.

I have not found any Middle Eastern flash file (MEA) for this phone. But as far as I know if you flash your phone and change your phone language to Philipian you will be able to read Persian messages and in order to type message in Persian you can install Farsi SMS application.

I have this phone and use it quite alot when i'm out and about. The Music Player quality is good in headphones and the features are great along with the design but it is true the battery backup is not the best. The thing I like about it is the size, it sits in the palm of my hand perfectly this is one phone that I have never dropped. My family often say it looks like a mini computer I guess in a way it does.

I have had this phone for 3 months and I have had to stop using it a it is useless, it has all the latest firmware installed and has been off to Nokia care 3 time and come back with the same problem. Problems Freezing in mid call with someone Switching on and off As these problems have not been fixed and keep happening this phone is now redundant to me, as I need a reliable phone unfortunatly this was not up to the mark which is ashame. It's probably one of the best, if not THE best Nokia's i ever had! The best feature is the design, while other smartphones are big and not easy to carry, this model has a unique shape which, when slided open, feels very solid and it's very easy to use! Unfortunately this model isn't available in the Netherlands, therefore i had to buy mine true e-bay. Again this is the best smartphone Nokia has build, now i'm hoping for the dutch language pack :)

Nokia phones does have some flaws but for you to say that �they shud b moto or samsung phones and sell them as their phone� is simply stupid. Nokia has been the # 1 mobile phone manufacturer for years up to this day. Yes there is a decrease in sales on the North American region but in terms of world wide sales, Nokia is still number one. And FYI Samsung also makes crappy and defective phones too. Some Samsung phones restarts/reboots by its self, even the latest android phones has this bug. And according to the Samsung D980 owners, its touchscreen is almost certain to malfunction before 12 months of use. And for some Sony Ericsson phones the camera quality is not as good as Sony Ericsson says or not that good as it should be. For example the W995 has an 8MP camera but the quality is just the same as of an 5MP camera of a Nokia phone. Same thing for the Vivaz, it has an 8mp camera but the quality of its pics is not that good as it should be for an 8MP camera. And the speaker quality is cheap, even with the infamous equalizer that SE solded out to fix this problem,still not suffisant ,at some places, you may not even hear your callers voices and that on the highest volume. And not to mention most SE phones battery drains fast, Vivaz a good example. And for Motorola, their world wide sales figures does not even comes close to Nokia. Motorola is left out in the dust.

It's a pretty good phone, for the price that I got it at ($1580 HKD). It looks cool, but it's also heavier than it looks. Reception is better than my old phone (Sony Ericsson W200a), but well Rogers Wireless GSM coverage is garbage in the first place so ya. But man, using the 3G on this is amazing (for me at least). No front camera, but the camera that it does have is pretty good for a phone camera! Overall a cool phone, if you're looking for a cheap smartphone, then get this, otherwise go for a higher level model/Blackberry/iPhone (if you got the money)

for my eyes its unique stylish..and cute things are not just for girls..i lov this mob since i use it for texting..the keypad takes some time to get used to..the camera is said to be 5mp..but very very poor..my other nokia with 3.2mp (with autofocus and carlzeiss lens) has way higher quality than my x5.facebook app didnot work..but downloaded another from net..it worked..music is gr8 really gr8..battery backup also good..if u dont care for looks but want better cam go for e5..its better.. choose x5 only for the unique style and qwerty pad.else choose some other model.i still lov this since i got another nokia and a samsung.so i love it FOR LOOKS AND QWERTY PAD. if u need to know more feel free to post here..

It's a very good phone to use, but keeping it's firmware updated is bit problematic task. It's a good smart phone flowing out with awesome feature's at such a reasonable price!Its a great phone young youth. It's three biggest cons as far i concern are no secondary camera, no GPS, vulnerable to break easily. HI everybody i have been using this phone for more than one month ,its camera quality is good during day but in night under lights its not so good .the screen contrast is not so effective,It has nice features and nice music phone and very good for multitasking,sometimes its slow and the slide technology is not at its best,if it is touch screen and has secondary camera it would me really good...Internet is fast in this phone and its a really cute phone..keypad will be good when u used to it.Overall after using this phone for more than one month these are my genuine reviews..but its a different and very cute phone u love it when its in ur hand..

been using this phone for 3 days as a replacement to my e63 and really love it. the size is compact, and the design is so cool. the only downsides for me are the screen is just 262K color compared to 16M on e63 and the keypad feels fragile. since i rarely use any business feature on my previous e63 and e71, i feel it's better than both of them. my rating; 7/10

Just got one of these handsets, I like something a little different and this fits the bill, it was either this one or the Moto Flipout, only reason I picked this one is the OP I like Symbian. So far no complaints for the price its packed with features and is very compact making this a nice set to carry around I did have my suspicions that this was gong to be a problem to fit in the pocket but when you open the box its a lot smaller than you think its going to be. It seems to be a very stable unit and having this for 2 weeks now and playing with it constantly it seems very well built solid infact and the battery is extrememly good. Camera very good but not as good as that of other 5MP handsets but is up to the job. Internet seems very quick so no complaints there. If you want something a little differant that packs in features this is the Handset for you, and hats off to the Nokia team for trying a different form factor. than those boring touch screen Handsets. hello guys, i'm using this phone for almost a week now and i tell you is pretty good handset ever used. i will give you my comments start with pros: Pros: 1.Music Quality is very awesome! one of the best audio quality almost same as X6 audio quality! (note that nokia x6 has the best stereo effect in all Nokia phone) Nokia X5 has one of the best Stereo effect next to X6. The bass is pretty decent, but treble and vocal is very impressive. the quality is even better when plug in earphone(a high quality headphone of course) the stereo effect is excellent, the bass is decent but the "boom-boom" bass is pretty high. which is good, but not as good as Nokia X6, X3 and 5800 XM but even better than 5320 XM, 5130 XM and X2. treble and vocal is Par with X6 and 5800,(both of this phone is best audio quality). i know N91 is the best audio quality but never used it. huhu. 2. decent price, in Malaysia is only rm 600 in original Nokia store.(maybe aroud 200 us dollar)i really thought it will be rm 900 or 1000.(300 or 350 dollar) 3. The image quality is decent. The coloring is good,contrast is great, less noise, but the image tends to have a lot of spot at night photo even using flash, but is only a music phone. so well bear with it. 4. I love the design. A very simple and cute square phone( reminds me of Sponge bob), my friends thinks that my phone is an alarm clock LOL. 5. The qwerty keyboard is pretty good, but for first timer using qwerty keyboard phone, you have to get use to it. anyway the qwerty keyboard is quite small but you will have rare occasional mispress, the keyboard is very comfortable and nice, you can even use it one hand for big hands(like me) 6. The accelerometer is very useful, you can snooze alarm clock and call tone by turn the phone upside down. and i like the idea of shake message notification, shake to change music and spin the phone and it will change the music, which is very cool and innovative. 7. battery life is very good, 1.for light usage,like listen music for 30 minutes,rarely call and 50-100 messages and 20 minutes playing other application it will stand for 4 and a half days, 2.For medium usage, listen music in 1 and a half hour, call for 20 minutes, message around 100-150 messages and playing wifi for 45 minutes and 20 minutes playing other application it will stand 2 and a half days 3. Heavy usage, listen to music in 22 and a half hours, call for 30 minutes, message around 200-300 messages, playing wifi for one hour and 25 minutes playing other application it can stand 2 days max(minimum 1 and half days) which is good eh? 8. very good sunlight legability, the screen can be seen even at the heavy sunlight. which is good since my country(Malaysia) is hot sunny and humid every year. 9. louspeaker performance( ringtone and earpiece volume) is very good, is loud even at noisy streets, so you don't have to worry about the slow loudspeaker tone when your in the noisy places. Cons: 1.the soft key on top is quite cramped, the most cramped part is the menu key and the media key, i tend to mispressed it because of my large thumb, since this phone is quite small so for large thumb you will have and occasional mispressed. but not always though. 2. when you spinning the phone, i reccommend you to have a cover to prevent the back cover from scratches. my X5 has scratches on the back cover since i like to play spinning the phone. lol 3.the slide quality is not the best like Nokia N97, Nokia 6700 slide, and Nokia 6600i slide( these three phone is the most sturdy slide phone.) when you close the slide, there is a slight wobble on the right side of the phone which is disturbing and annoying 4. i though is stereo speaker since at the bottom pat of the phone you find two grills.but only on the right side speaker is used, maybe in software update nokia should activate the left speaker as well to make this mobile 200% awesome in terms of loudness and quality =)( which i think is impossible.lol) conclusion: i highly recommend you guys to buy this phone, is simple, fun and awesome and decent proce too, insyaallah i will make a audio quality review and versus review and cam quality review at my blog www xenonmobile blogspot com. so thanks for reading my honest review( i think) good day and assalamualaikum

i just bought this phone. And for me x5 performed very good althought i dont like the design. N i agree 3g not only for video call. And as far as i know 3g is just a fast internet conection that made video call is posible. So i think x5 dont need a secondary camera in fact of the price are so cheap. So if u need a video call find another cellphone. Nb: i write n post the text using my x5 lol..

I can read and also edit documents on my Nokia 5530! If you Google by the Symbian version of this phone, you may find the right Quickoffice version. Try to find out how to do that ;)

The phone is super-awesome! The best thing is the 256MB RAM and 5MP and its very cheap! Plus, Qwerty board is available! Its for people who are born in the 1990-1995! Very impressive! Hopefully I'll get this phone! Inshallah!

First time I looked this I got much impressed by its colour & design... But 1 thing I wanna know more is about the Quickoffice app. Is it a fullversion app like on E63 or just a viewer only? I think i'd buy if it had the ability in viewing, editing & making new Office files. Thanks :)

try to set ur "network" in settings to "gsm" only set to "umts" while u need to use the 3g/3.5g connection the battery will last longer this is a major problem for every mobile phone (especially mobile phone with smaller battery capacity)

gawshhh!!! i kneww it... x5 only had one loudspeaker that's awful, why they designed with two speaker surface, but one of them is just a dummy... that's why when i close the right speaker, the sound was 90% drop, and after i tested it with "left-right balance" settings, still the same, so...that's right, the phone had only one loudspeaker....

Try to hear the right speaker while closing the left speaker, and try to hear the left speaker while closing the right speaker... Mine is having a problem that the left speaker sound is very very low... Did u all have the same thing going on with the speakers?

i bought this phone yesterday for IDR 1,780,000 (about USD 198)... it's a good phone. but i don't like the camera. megapixel is not everything... the image quality is not good enough (i used SE K810i before). And the stereo speaker is loud, but it's not as clear as my old phone. Hmmmm... I think I love Sony Ericsson much more than Nokia. And theennnn, this phone always restarts itself while i'm using eBuddy. Don't know why.... Score for Nokia X5-01: 6.5

Nokia is itself enemy of its market policy.Nokia X3-1 & Nokia E63 r 3G phones but no secondary camera for video call.What is the significance of 3G only high speed browsing. Many people drop their desire to purchase E63. I liked X3 very much but Alas!What a super nonsense it is!

camera little bit pale, but this isn't camera phone right? Music sound is very good, as long as you use good head/earphone like sennhizer. Don't expect more from earphone comes with this phone. Only idr 1750 at akar daya.

Aqua: X5 camera is better than X2, but it cannot compete with C6 who has an autofocus. But believe me X5 camera is not bad..you wont regret

If the camera being your concerning then you may forget this phone. C6 has better camera than this one though nokia doesn't put carl-zeiss lens for C6, it can compete with 6700s cam. I think X5-01 uses the same module camera like X2 has.
